Places to stay in Great Yarmouth District
Our "Cool & cosy" caravan has simply stunning views of the sea and beach, with nothing to obstruct your view. As you walk out of the door you are literally only a few paces from the sandy beach. The caravan sleeps 4, and comes fully equipped... even with a dishwasher, Wifi, heating, parking, raised deck, outdoor seating and parking. The perfect base for rest and relaxation, a family beach holiday, the Norfolk Broads, seaside attractions at Great Yarmouth... something for everyone!
The perfect location - right on the beach! Escape to the coast and relax in a unique cool caravan situated right on the beach with uninterrupted sea and coastal views. Only a few steps from your door and you are on the beach. Inside the cosy, beach-style static caravan you will be able to unwind and de-stress, with the calming sound of the waves in the background. Enjoy a brisk walk along miles of clean, sandy beaches or simply soak up the sun, sand and sea as you step outside your door. It is also the ideal location from which to explore the uncrowded Norfolk and Suffolk coastlines, the picturesque villages and the world-famous Norfolk Broads. The Broads at Ormesby and at Filby are just 3 or 4 miles away. Accommodation Our individually-styled "cool caravan" is more like a seaside cottage. It is fully plumbed in with water, gas, electricity and a flushing toilet, so it offers all the comforts you would expect in a self-catering holiday home, with a homely feel. The accommodation consists of:- •1 double bedroom 4ft 6" bed with TV/DVD, hairdryer •1 twin bedroom 2ft 3" beds (can be pushed together) •Family bathroom (access from corridor and main bedroom) with small bath and shower over & hand basin •Separate WC & hand basin •Fully fitted kitchen with range-style gas cooker, fridge (with ice box/small freezer compartment), dishwasher, microwave, toaster, kettle etc •Living room with beach and sea views, dining table and pull out small double bed (large single) for extra guests (supplement charged) ); gas fire, TV/DVD, radio, CD player WiFi, games, magazines and books Leads onto a raised deck with sea and beach views, two outdoor chairs and small table Three steps down to grassed area alongside caravan with bench table/seating and parking for up to two cars On site laundry, payable on site - uses 50p coins; iron and ironing board free to use. The caravan can comfortably accommodate 4 people. For additional guests using the pull out sofa a supplement will be charged. If the weather takes a turn for the worse, there are throws, blankets and cushions to curl up in, magazines and books to read, candles for romantic suppers and a selection of DVDs, music and board games. There is outdoor furniture for al fresco dining and soaking up the sun. Smoking is not permitted and no pets are allowed. Visitors comments "your caravan is absolutely wonderful, relaxing, interesting, clean and the sea view lovely" "the caravan is very nice, cosy, homely, lovely" "the ideal place with the beach and sea so close, and as a base for touring the area" "we walked into your caravan and said "Wow" as it is so nice" The caravan is located at Caister-on-Sea, approximately 4 miles north of Great Yarmouth. It is sited at Elm Beach Caravan Park, which is a small, select, 4 star site that prides itself in offering a safe, peaceful and friendly environment where you can recharge your batteries and "chill out". There are no entertainment facilities, such as pubs, shops and recreation areas at this site. However, these are available at neighbouring parks within easy walking distance. It is also just a short walk into the centre of Caister, with shops take-aways and restaurants. Area We bought the caravan on a whim, after visiting the Norfolk Broads and ending up at the coast. As we stood on the beach it started snowing - it was magical. We thought how nice it would be to own one of the nearby caravans, just a few yards away from us, with amazing views of the sea. And that is how we ended up buying our beachside retreat. Despite visiting many times over the past 9 years, we are still amazed by how much this area has to offer, and how much more there is to discover. Whether you enjoy walking, sailing, fishing (directly on the beach), cycling, wildlife, photography, painting, shopping in the city of Norwich, the thrills of a seaside town, child friendly activites, or just watching the world go by, there is something to suit everyone. BOOKINGS ARE GENERALLY FOR A WEEK AT A TIME AND OUR BOOKING CALENDAR NORMALLY RUNS SATURDAY TO SATURDAY. We can offer a discount on a second full weeks booking..please ask. Out of season we may be able to offer a shorter break, but please ask us before booking - scroll down to bottom of page and press "contact host" button. The nightly rate will be slightly higher, but is inclusive of heating costs. Sorry no smoking and no pets allowed.
The caravan is located at Caister-on-Sea, approximately 4 miles north of Great Yarmouth. It is our own private caravan, sited at Elm Beach Caravan Park. It is a small, select, 4 star site that prides itself in offering a safe, peaceful and friendly environment where you can recharge your batteries and "chill out". There are no entertainment facilities at this site. However, there is are pubs, cafes and restaurants within walking distance. It is just a short walk into the centre of Caister. The area is ideal for a traditional beach holiday with children, picnics, sandcastles, ice creams... Often a small fishing boat brings in the catch and nothing is better than fresh fish straight from the beach! Alternatively if you enjoy fishing you can catch your own directly from the beach. The centre of the village of Caister-on-Sea is only a 5-10 minute walk, with supermarkets, a fish shop selling fresh fish, a butchers and a bakery for all your daily needs. There is a pub 100 yards away and a café at the end of the road as well as restaurants, pubs, take-aways (including Indian, Chinese and fish & chip shops or course!). Great Yarmouth offers old fashioned seaside fun for all the family. If you are feeling energetic, it is possible to walk there along the beach, (takes about an hour) or take one of the regular buses from Caister. There is a Pleasure Beach with rides suitable for all the family, as well as night clubs, casino and places to eat out. The Sea Life Centre and Time and Tide Museum are worth a visit. The Norfolk Broads are 5 minute drive away, from where you can hire a boat or canoe, or walk or cycle along footpaths and boardwalks. The area is wonderful for nature lovers. Rare birds such as the bittern, crane and marsh harriers can be seen, as well as the swallow tail butterfly unique to Norfolk. However, if you prefer a more sedate holiday, you can watch seals swimming in the sea, and even the occasional dolphin, as well as boats and people promenading - all from the comfort of your sofa! Norfolk is apparently one of the driest and sunniest counties in the UK. We have enjoyed many holidays with good weather at the caravan, when it has been raining at our home in Hertfordshire! Further afield There are quaint villages such as Holt, Burnham Market, and Cley next the Sea. Blakeney point has seal viewing trips. Towns on the coast worth visiting include Cromer, Wells next the Sea, Southwold and Walberswick. Norwich is apparently a great place for shopaholics! For food lovers, we can recommend The Swan at Ingham, mentioned in the Michelin Guide, and there are several pubs with good food, such as The Nelson Head at Horsey and the Fisherman's Return at Winterton on Sea. You can also observe seals on the beach - from a viewing platform near Winterton /Horsey. At Horsey you can visit the windmill and it is a great place to enjoy the sunsets. Some of the highlights:- -eating fish and chips on the beach -seeing a bittern, marsh harriers and a swallowtail butterfly at Strumpshaw Fen, and Titchwell Marsh RSPB centres - spotting seals and a dolphin swimming in the sea directly outside the caravan, from the comfort of the sofa - a thrill on the Big Dipper and Segway racing at Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach - collecting "hag stones" (stones with naturally occurring holes through the middle) on the beach - canoeing for the first time along the Broads (a good test of a relationship!)
  • What a gem of a caravan! We had a great week and although the weather was pretty awful a couple of days, it was wonderful to sit and watch the waves rolling on to the beach. There is a great pub, Never Turn Back, just a few minutes walk away, that serves excellent food, ideal if you did not want to wonder far. The communication was excellent and the caravan was clean, all your cooking utensils at hand with lots of crockery too. We would definitely book again and really appreciated the homeliness of your home and the extra little touches. Kind regards Ilme & Lenny

  • Jo and Steve's seaside home is absolutely delightful. It is very well equipped with everything you could possibly need to enjoy a relaxing stay. The wonderful interior design is a beautiful creative touch that really adds to a truly unique, home from home, holiday experience. The cosy, comfortable environment makes relaxation so easy. We had an amazing time and left feeling truly refreshed.

  • Fantastic location. Homely comfy caravan. The dishwasher is a little gem who wants to wash up on holiday. Quiet location, but near Yarmouth and other activities with a short drive.

  • Outstanding location and caravan with a very homely feel. Had a very chilled week with the kids playing on the beach nearly all the time- breakfast sitting outside watching the waves and wildlife. Easy self check in and check out - and a nice welcome pack on arrival. The caravan has everything you need. Lots to do in the area - have already booked to return.

  • The highlight of the chalet is an amazing view. It directly overlooks the beach with a completely uninterrupted view. It feels really peaceful. The chalet itself is clean and well equipped. We squeezed our whole family in (toddler and a baby) and were quite comfortable. We had a very relaxing stay and the kids loved the area, particularly Yarmouth. The communication was great and check in very easy. Thank you for the welcome pack - a nice tough. We’d consider staying again.

  • Brilliant place, my second time here, looking forward to going back, the view is amazing. Don't worry if the weather isn't that great, just enjoy the place, flick the fire on and relax with a cuppa or something stronger. Pub next door is called The Never Turn back was great, nice atmosphere and very friendly. Also worth taking a look around the Lifeboat museum just a little bit further down, that's where you find where the name of the Pub came from and why it is now the motto RNLI. Thanks again :)

  • Fantastic place. It gave me comfort and peace. It is paradise by the sea with everything you need and more. If you are open to receive the space will welcome you.

  • Great stay at the barn for the weekend, it's a beautiful place with lots of space and plenty to do in the area. The guest book provided loads of useful information on the best beaches to visit and we loved both the local and the seal beach. Lovely extra touches of fizz, biscuits and crisps on arrival too

    Jessica2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic stay - location was perfect, just a short walk from the beach. The recommended walks in the book were great! Will definitely be back to Winterton.

  • Loved loved loved this barn. We’ll most definitely be back. This place was perfect for dogs - lovely enclosed garden in front. And they even supplied a box of dog towels. The bars itself was immaculate and very stylish. And the local advice and tips were brilliant! Five stars from us.

  • A fantastic barn in a very beautiful spot, walking distance to a gorgeous beach. It was the perfect house to come back to after chilly walks. Couldn’t have asked for more, and have already recommended it!

  • A perfectly located and beautifully equipped house with a short walk to the beach. A dog walkers paradise! Hopefully we will be back again soon

    Dan2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Our family of four, along with our small dachsie, had a fantastic five-day stay in this stylish holiday home, which exceeded our expectations in every respect. Perfect for lazy days indoors, offering all mod cons, beautiful decorative touches, attention to detail and thoughtful touches - down to the torch for late-night digestive walks after dinners prepared in the perfectly equipped kitchen. An ideal location to get away from it all! We enjoyed the lovely walk to the beach and to the nearest pub, along with plenty of excursions detailed in Rachel’s guest information booklet. We look forward to returning to this cosy and idyllic gem at some stage soon. One of our favourite Airbnb experiences in the UK!

    Kristina2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at the barn. It's really nicely finished inside and out. Great to be able to take the dog and an easy walk down to the beach. Always nice to have a log burner too, even if it's not really needed. Overall we had a thoroughly enjoyable time.

Beachcomber is a mid terrace three bedroom cottage, recently renovated to provide a comfortable and stylish holiday home. Located just two minutes walk from the dunes, Beachcomber offers easy access to the beach and is walking distance from all the local amenities in the village including the local pub, fish & chip shop, post office and village store. Downstairs, the living room has comfortable sofas, a wood burning stove, and a TV tucked away in a wooden cabinet. A door leads through to the spacious kitchen diner, which is well equipped with a large electric cooker, hob, fridge freezer, dishwasher and microwave. The kitchen door opens out into the back garden where you'll find the shed which houses the washing machine. Beyond the kitchen there's a downstairs bedroom with a trundle bed, giving the choice of either a 2'6" single in that room or two 2'6" singles next to one another (effectively a kingsize double) when the lower bed is pulled out. There's also a downstairs bathroom with a WC and washbasin. Upstairs there are two spacious bedrooms. The master bedroom at the front of the cottage has a comfortable kingsize bed, and the second bedroom has twin 2'6" single beds which can be converted to a kingsize double bed on request. At the back of the cottage upstairs is the large modern bathroom with a bath, separate walk in shower, WC and washbasin. Outside, the back garden is fully enclosed and is part paved, part gravel. The cottage is equipped with wifi and off road parking for one car, with other free parking on the road outside. Two dogs are welcome at Beachcomber by prior arrangement.
  • This place is just perfect, I honestly cannot fault it. Immaculately clean with everything you could possibly need. Big comfy sofas with cosy blankets to snuggle up on at night in front of the log burner. Extremely comfortable beds. Amazing shower! A treat to come home to after a day of walking on the beach, which is just beautiful, and when we went had the added bonus of seals everywhere! Like being in a nature documentary every day. Beach cafe is great too! Thank you!

    Tori2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great cottage, ideal location super close to the beach and perfect for dogs. We had a fab time- the cottage is beautiful and is fully equipped. Would highly recommend!

    Ella2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Rachel is extremely responsive to all messages. The cottage is lovely, everything was spotlessly clean and tidy and there were lots of little extras (milk, bread, apple juice, a very nice pie). We loved the shower and the beds were very comfortable too. It's in a great position, within walking distance to the Dunes and also the sea. Although we didn't take our dogs it's perfect for dog walkers. We would all recommend Rachel's lovely cottage with no hesitation. x

    Nicky2019-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean and comfortable accommodation. This terraced cottage is a bit of a tardis- surprisingly spacious. The box of goodies was a nice touch. The location is excellent- very convenient for the Broads and Norwich. The most outstanding aspect is the superb, vast and sandy beach which is literally a 2 minute stroll from the front door.

    Suffolk2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • The delightful Beachcomber nestles perfectly into the picturesque surroundings of Winterton-on-Sea. The property delivers everything for a perfectly relaxing holiday. A box full full of goodies warmly welcomed us on arrival and we found lots of helpful info to hand to help ease us into our holiday. The accommodation is spotlessly clean and the garden is an idyllic place to enjoy. A short gentle stroll to the village shops, chippy, tea-rooms, pub and beach mean there is no need to leave the village until you really must! A gem of a holiday home.

    Deborah2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at the cottage. Perfect place to walk to the beach quickly, grab fish and chips and get a drink at the local pub! The cottage has a great garden and feels really big! The kitchen diner is a great space to spend an evening in!

    Holly2019-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great house in a great location in a lovely village. House has a fantastic kitchen and bedrooms/bathrooms very clean and comfy. We really enjoyed visiting the beach and exploring the area. Great that there is a small shop so very nearby for all the essentials.

    Anthea2019-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • What a gem to have found this place, it was better than I had anticipated, it was such a close walk to get out onto the dunes for some off lead adventures for the dogs and everything we needed to return back to a cosy home from home, lit the fire and settled down for the evening. It was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean, and super comfy beds making us feel so welcome. The Fisherman’s Return is a wonderful pub down the road which offers just the warming food that you need after exploring the beaches with the blustery winter weather. Idyllic winter get away

  • Would definitely recommend a stay in this chalet. Lovely and comfortable & clean. Slept really well. Ideal location for beach, pub & chip shop. Swimming pool not open until May so can't comment on that. Popped in the site club for a drink and was made to feel welcome. Only a few people in there due to the time of year. Margo is easy to contact should you have a problem and very quick to respond. Get yourself booked in for a very reasonably priced break.

The tips Margo gave on how to see seals and the local walks were spot on and my son and I have come away with lifelong memories of our stay. We’ll be back soon!

  • Holiday parks aren't normally my thing but we had a great stay at Margo's place. The chalet was very clean, comfortable and well-equipped, the neighbours were friendly, and despite it being possibly the busiest weekend in the year (first weekend in August) the site was very quiet overnight and I slept like a log. We didn't use the entertainment facilities so I can't comment on those but there is a stunning beach a short walk down the road and some wonderful walks and other places to visit nearby.

    Judy2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean and very tidy accommodation. There was a lovely and very thoughtful welcoming gift of a bottle of wine from Margo and some milk, tea and coffee, all of which were very welcome. The chalet is in a great location only a few minutes walk from a beautiful beach and there are great facilities on site for kids and adults.

  • Margo’s chalet is fantastic. She has thought of everything and the little touches are so perfect! A lovely bottle of wine to welcome us... spotlessly clean, very comfortable beds and an incredibly helpful host. We thoroughly recommend this property. And we want to return in the warmer weather to enjoy what’s on offer even more.

    Cheryl2019-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • First time I’ve stayed at the chalet and it completely exceeded my expectations. The space is brilliant. Well worth the money. Margo has been brilliant from start to finish, always there to help if needed. I look forward to my next stay.

Set between the Broads National Park and the coast this is an ideal location for the beach, walking, cycling, boating and bird watching. A characterful, quirky cottage with beams and an inglenook fireplace dating back to the mid 18th century. Set in a conservation area, over looking a magnificent church and churchyard. Ideal for both summer and winter breaks.
The comfortable sitting room has a TV, with freeview and Netflix. Alternatively there are a selection of board games. The large inglenook fireplace, with wood burner, is the focal point of the house. There is a dining area for 4. There is WiFi. The kitchen has everything you will need for your stay including a washing machine. The downstairs bathroom has a heated towel rail and power shower. Upstairs there are two good size bedrooms. Both have double beds, one king size and one queen with goose down duvets. There is plenty of storage space. Both rooms have heaters. Bedroom 2 leads into bedroom 1. Linen and towels are provided. The sunny, decked garden has an eating area, BBQ, seating and shade. To the rear there is off road parking for one car. There is plenty of on road parking. Pets are welcome. Dog secure garden. This is a very dog friendly area. They are welcome in most pubs, some restaurants and on many beaches.
Martham is a friendly, busy village with a good range of amenities. There is a fish & chip shop, a Co-Op, pharmacy and two pubs. There is also an excellent traditional village butcher, selling local produce and homemade pies. The cottage works perfectly as a location both summer and winter. In the summer you can sunbath on Winterton beach and in the winter visit the seals at Horsey Gap. There are several boat hire companies locally. Martham and Hickling Broads and Winterton Dunes are both areas of outstanding scientific interest. Norwich is a short drive away. The city offers many historic sites, excellent shopping, restaurants and cinemas.
  • A great place to stay, very comfy and cosy. Remember to bring some firewood and coffee for your first night/morning!

The Water Cabin is a recently renovated 1930’s cedar-clad cabin located on the bank of the River Thurne, in the heart of the Broads National Park. It is the ideal retreat for a romantic getaway or family holiday at any time of the year.
The Water Cabin has two bedrooms (sleeps four) and open plan living room, kitchen and dining room. The bathroom has a large walk-in shower and bath. Outside, there is a large decked area, a generous sized garden and an adjacent boat dyke with river frontage and moorings. The cabin has river views to the front and countryside views to the rear.
The Water Cabin is situated in a friendly community of riverside properties on the bank of the River Thurne in Repps with Bastwick. Neighbours will be a mix of residents and fellow holidaymakers. The Broads National Park is made up of manmade rivers that are medieval and home to quarter of UK’s rarest wildlife. There are more than 200km of navigable lock free rivers and open water. In the Broads you will see the swallowtail butterfly, the Norfolk hawker dragonfly, the marsh harrier, the bittern and the crane. One of the best places to visit to spot all five is Hickling Nature Reserve. The Broads National Park is home to a quarter of the UK’s rarest wildlife. There is nowhere else in Britain where you go for a walk and see a swallowtail butterfly sunning itself upon a flag iris. Nowhere else, where on the same footpath, you’ll see a flock of cranes cross the sky like oriental wallpaper. By the time you’ve put down your binoculars you’ll have already noticed the hares boxing in the meadow beyond and the Chinese water deer breaking cover from the willow trees. The air is filled with the hum of dragonflies, some as large as your fist. Was that the sound of a cuckoo? The water is flat and clear as a mirror and upon it a grebe glides as though in state, before disappearing beneath the water’s surface. Beneath the shade of the sails of a heritage mill seems the perfect place to stop, to listen to the song of the swifts and the sway of the reeds. Because the Broads National Park is home to a quarter of the UK’s rarest wildlife and there is nowhere else in the country where you can see all of these creatures in one place, except here.
  • A place to contemplate, relax and be inspired. Great waterfront location, I'd be happy to spend the whole time indoors....beautiful details and styling a must see/stay.

    Mark2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great hosts who were professional and responsive. The welcome pack was extremely generous and very much appreciated. The cabin is stylish, clean and well thought out. The skylights and vaulted ceiling in the lounge create a bright and spacious property. The location is peaceful and it doesn’t take long to find yourself settling into the pace of life on the river. We left well rested and refreshed. My father uses a wheelchair and my mother walks with two sticks. Mum had no issues accessing the property and Dad was able to gain access over the front step with the help of an able bodied companion and once inside was able to access all areas, including the outside decking. We hope to return in the future.

    Paul2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Really great place to get away from it all and relax.

    Michael2019-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our week at the cabin, was beautiful & peaceful. Such a stylish space and lovely to have the deck and garden right on the water. The kitchen is well stocked with all the things you need to prepare a proper meal which we really appreciated - we have a toddler so all our evening meals were at home. We had lovely weather during our stay but would have been fine even if not as it's such a lovely space to relax in. Loved the books dotted around as well - a really nice touch. And when it was too chilly to sit out on the deck in the evening we watched the sky changing colour and the birds passing through the windows from the comfy sofa. We didn't miss internet / tv at all, was lovely to have a proper break.

  • This cottage is absolutely lovely inside. We stayed at the cottage for a local wedding and the stay was brilliant. Comfortable beds (even the sofa bed), great shower, good provisions. The pub next door did have music (karaoke) playing until quite late, which was a pain the night before the wedding, but it didn’t detract from the stay. Superb communication and fast responses when we had questions. Would thoroughly recommend.

  • The Hay Barn at Winterton is a great place to have a peaceful and quiet holiday. The accommodation is warm and cosy, very well equipped with everything to make your stay stress free. The underfloor heating and wood burner fire are a bonus to add to that feel. We stayed over New Year, and Hay Barn is ideally located to explore all that the area has to offer. The short walk to the village and beach is an added bonus. Particularly loved the local biscuits, jam, and eggs as a welcome on arrival. The Hounds also loved the locally sourced Dog treats included in the welcome. We also really enjoyed making friends with the Hens in the yard. Thank you Emma & Neil for a great stay at Hay Barn.

Located in the historic part of Caister, our refurbished cottage offers all the comforts of modern life. Approximately 50 yards away from one of the best beaches on the East coast it is within walking distance of Caister's famous lifeboat station, high street shops and local public houses. It is perfect for one or two people who just want to get away from it all but not be in complete isolation. It is an ideal base to visit the rest of Norfolk at any time of the year.
Kitchen has new cooker, refrigerator, washer/dryer, microwave, toaster, coffee maker. Bathroom has been completely refurbished with a new shower, toilet and sink. We now have wiifii. There is Sky Q. The outside space is a completely enclosed decked area with a bench table and umbrella.
Our cottage is located in the older part of the village which is why it has so much character and history.
  • This was a perfect place for us to stay. Such a lovely holiday cottage in a great location. The space was just right for us with a very cosy setting. Would definitely recommend.

  • Warm, cosy, comfy and clean with all things needed for self catering, including handy washer/dryer. Very close to beach, 2 min walk, loved that!! Parking for cottage is a one to two minute walk away or a little further depending on parked cars, which was ok for us, but needed to carry all luggage, so would be easier to pack things in trolley cases or pack lightly. Would definitely stay again!!

  • Absolutely gorgeous building and exceptionally clean! Small issue of heating - unable to control from the air bnb and had to bother host both days to request it be turned on as a large space that got cold quickly. But I appreciate this is probably to save energy and costs! Had to buy own coffee. This aside, incredible value and highly recommend.

Tigh-Na-Mara - Gaelic for 'house by the sea' or 'beach house' - is a compact two bedroom chalet in a prime position on Winterton Valley Estate, with amazing uninterrupted sea views. Direct access to the dunes and beach is right in front of the chalet. Inside, the open plan living area includes a comfortable sofa, TV & DVD player, and a dining table with seating for three. The well equipped kitchen area includes a fridge freezer, microwave, kettle and toaster, as well as washing machine. Bedroom one has a standard double size bed, and uninterrupted sea views. Bedroom two has a 3' wide single bed. The bathroom includes a shower over the bath, wash basin and WC. Winterton Valley Estate is a short walk from Winterton village, and is open from the end of March until the end of October. There is no clubhouse or amenities on site and the chalets are very well spaced out, so the estate offers a peaceful and relaxed environment to enjoy your stay. Tigh-Na-Mara has electric heating, and has parking behind the chalet. Up to three dogs are allowed at Tigh-Na-Mara, but must be kept on the lead in the chalet park - Tigh-Na-Mara doesn't have an enclosed garden area. It's park policy that dogs shouldn't be left on their own in chalets in case they bark, but nearby Caister Kennels offers doggy day care if you need to leave them.

Enjoy the best of the British seaside in five star luxury The chalet has been completely refurbished to five star standard and offers all mod cons and supreme comfort on the Belle Aire Holiday Park in Hemsby.
The property has 2 bedrooms - one twin and one double. The double features a world-renowned Hypnos mattress as used in the very best hotels. There is also a sofa bed for a couple of extra beds who'll you need them. The chalet is based on the Belle Aire Holiday Park. This is family-friendly holiday park that has been run by the same family since 1972. There is a bar/restaurant on site with great entertainment, fabulous food and friendly staff. Set on the beautiful East Coast, you'll find some of the UK's most stunning beaches only minutes away. The famous Norfolk Broads are also on our doorstep - perfect for sailors and birdwatchers alike.
  • We stayed at Sally's chalet for a few nights between Christmas and New year. The chalet is beautifully decorated and equipped with stylish, modern features, making it a fabulous place to stay. The beds in particular are amazing! The chalet is well located and served as a perfect base for us - the highlight of our stay was the trip to Horsey Gap to see the seal cubs, which is only a short car journey away. I can't comment on the site facilities as we didn't make use of them, but the shop and bar were open at this time of year, which is quite uncommon. Sally's co-host Hayley was incredibly helpful when we checked in, even popping in before we arrived to put the heating on to make it nice and warm for our arrival. Would highly recommend and would stay here again.

Ship's Timbers is a one bedroom thatched cottage full of character with a lovely secluded garden - perfect for a couple. It's a short five minute stroll to the beach, and the cottage is perfectly located in the centre of Winterton-on-Sea, walking distance from the local Fisherman's Return pub, fish & chip shop and post office/village store. The living room has a comfortable sofa and armchair, a dining table for two and TV/DVD player. The kitchen leads off the lounge and has a cooker, microwave and fridge/freezer. The downstairs bathroom is through the kitchen and includes a bath, washbasin, WC and a shower over the bath. A traditional Norfolk Winder steep staircase leads up from the lounge to the light and airy bedroom with a stunning king size four poster bed. Please note that as the stairs are very steep the cottage is unsuitable for the elderly or infirm. Guests are advised to use the handrails for safety. Behind the cottage is a fabulous private garden with a patio area and outdoor seating for two. The garden is fully enclosed and two dogs are welcome at Ship's Timbers by prior arrangement. There is off road parking for one car.
  • Great location. Minutes from the beach, cafe, pub and shop. Great little cottage with a lovely garden to relax in. Perfect!

    Jill2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful quaint cottage with the most comfortable bed ever, strong wifi and lovely private garden! Less than 5 min walk from the sandy, dog friendly beach with dunes, grassland just opposite for easy walking. Fantastic pub is a 2 min stumble away and chip shop and local shops are friendly and good value. Take note of the advice that the cottage stairs are steep as they really are but it wouldn't stop me going back again. Brilliant that I could leave my dog in the cottage if needed, but the whole area is super dog friendly so you probably won't need to. I will definitely visit again. Thank you!

Our spacious, luxury barn apartment is a self catering get away on the Norfolk Broads. It has it's own entrance and is located above our triple garage. The views are directly over the country side. Our village has a local pub which is walking distance right on the river Bure. There are many things to explore; the Seal Colony in Horsey, our beautiful beaches, bird watching and various walks - book a boat trip. Norwich is also a stone throw away for a nice cultural visit. Come and explore!
The apartment is situated above our triple garage. It has its own entrance with hall (to keep bikes or canoes) with staircase which leads to the apartment. The big open space apartment has a fully equipped kitchen with breakfast bar, hob, oven, microwave, fridge, toaster and coffee/tea making facilities. A comfortable double bed with king size duvet and bedside cabinet. Two sofa's, a living room table and a glass dining table for six! Separate bathroom with walk in shower, toilet and sink. Heated by electric heaters for any cold nights or days. Bed linen and towels provided as well as a hair dryer and iron. Own dedicated Wifi and TV. You are more than welcome to use our garden seating area for the nice and summery evenings.
We are situated close to the Norfolk Broads for lovely walks and close to the beach. It is a very rural location so a car is needed to explore. There are some small shops in Acle with bigger ones in Caister and Great Yarmouth. Many restaurants can be found in our area. A local pub walking distance. During high season we would recommend to book a table to avoid disappointment. Book a boat trip from Ranworth broad or Fairhaven in South Walsham. Too much to mention so please ask if there is anything else you would like to do.

Sabine & Simon were very helpful and communicated really well. A really comfortable bed, good kitchen and lovely lounge area to relax in plus a good sized modern bathroom. Pub within easy walking distance did nice food and is right on the water. Winterton-on-Sea has just been listed as one of the top 10 UK hidden gems in London's TimeOut magazine too! We are happy for you to bring along your dogs (max 2) as they will love the wide open spaces with the sand dunes and beach, a 10 minute stroll away. Hemsby with its amusements and nightlife is a pleasant stroll away.
You will be staying at number 18 Winterton Valley Chalet Estate. Turn right as you come into the Estate and then turn left 30 yds into the FIRST carpark. Your chalet is the white one at the far end of the carpark. There is ample parking space. The chalet can sleep up to 5 guests by also using the sofa bed but is better suited to a party of four for comfort as would be a little cramped with more than four guests plus dog(s). Completely refurbished to a very high standard, your chalet is one of the very best appointed chalets on the whole estate. Newly fitted carpets, bathroom suite, renovated kitchen area and newly decorated in all areas to make your stay more enjoyable. Also this chalet benefits from being completely insulated and rewired with ample sockets and USB charging points. The extremely picturesque Winterton Village is a short 10 minute walk with a great pub that serves food all day. A village shop and a great fish and chip shop are also available close to hand. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you will need for your stay. We have just installed a very high quality brand new King Size bed in the main bedroom, so your stay will be supremely comfortable as well. Bed linen is provided for the king size bed and the two singles. If you need additional bedding for the sofa bed, please bring this along with you. There is ample storage for clothes bags etc. for your stay. WiFi: New for this year! We have installed an always on WiFi solution via a dedicated 4g router to make the whole WiFi experience better than before. We provide this service free of charge to our guests to enjoy, but please bear in mind that 4g data is expensive for us to provide and there are monthly data limits set by the provider. We would kindly ask all guests to be mindful of this and only use for general surfing, social media, email etc. Please do not download movies, huge games, Netflix, YouTube or any other streaming services etc. as these can eat huge amounts of data and the monthly allowance cannot cover this sort of high usage. We get daily email notifications regarding data usage sent to us, and if we notice that you are abusing the free WiFi, then we may decide to deactivate or cap the account on your stay. You will receive a text message from us to moderate usage beforehand however. Sorry to hammer this home, but we want everyone to enjoy the free WiFi, but it involves all guests to play fair. Unfortunately there is no way of installing cable or fibre style internet at the present time. Dogs: Dogs must be kept under control and on a lead at all times within the grounds. However they are free to play in the sand dunes and on the beach off lead but please respect other holiday makers. It goes without saying, but please clean up after your dog. With respect to other guests, please do not allow dogs on the beds and use the provided throws on the sofas. Pet bowls can be found in the cupboard under the sink. Dogs must not be left unattended in the chalet please. CLEANING FEE: When you book your break, we levy a small charge of £25 per stay. This cost is for the supply and cleaning costs of the bed linen plus a light clean after your stay. You are expected to tidy up after yourselves and to leave the chalet in the condition you found it. If you prefer to bring your own bedding and do a full clean of the chalet, please message me once you book and i will refund this fee upon your arrival.

  • The estate is so peaceful- a perfect getaway from it all! Ideally situated for lovely walks along the dunes or the beach. We loved it and our dog had a great time 😊 The dunes cafe is just a mile away and a lovely walk to it. We stopped a few times and loved the beach huts to shelter in (not that we needed to but our children liked the novelty). I went for a run along the dunes and into Winterton and back which was great. It’s a perfect family, couples or doggie getaway. We popped into Great Yarmouth so the children could play in the amusements which they loved. We had dinner at the Fisherman’s Return and they were so friendly and you can take the dog in too (it was sunny so we sat outside and they gave us some dog biscuits (for the dog😄) highly recommend). The local chip shop was good too but check the opening times. The local Indian takeaway delivers too which was good!! The chalet itself is in such a peaceful location. So relaxing. It’s small but modern and clean. The bathroom and kitchen are lovely and all the things you would need are there. The bed was so comfortable and I don’t usually sleep well away from home but did. We are hoping to return next year. It was just so perfect.

  • We find Winterton very relaxing and has plenty of friendly people. The chalet made it all the more pleasurable as it is very well laid out, has everything you would need and feels very comfortable. There was also a bowl of water ready for Meg our dog.

  • The village was so calm and relaxing. The views from the edge of the complex are amazing. If you need a hide away/ getaway to chill this is the place.

    Angela2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely chalet in an ideal location, very dog friendly. Lovely beaches close by. Dogs allowed on the beach and dunes. Close to the village with pub, post office, chip shop and village shop. What else could you need!

    Gavin2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic chalet on a very select site. Great open grassed areas between chalets and very quiet. Very well equipped chalet it seemed to have everything you might need for you stay. We had a fan which was much appreciated as we had a very sunny week! Although with the patio windows open it was really cool inside. Would definately stay again.

    Catherine2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • A really lovely, clean, well appointed chalet, everything you thought you might need to take with you was already there waiting for you! Winterton it’s self is a beautiful village, with a great local pub, fish and chip shop and shop. It’s only a short walk to a fantastic beach which our children and dog loved.

    Joelle2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful peaceful place to stay. Close to all amenities with a dog friendly pub and tea room serving gorgeous food. The chalet was spotless and comfortable and well equipped. I would definatey return and highly recommend it.

  • A clean and tidy space for exploring and in just the location we needed. This was our second time here and the in laws will be returning on their next visit. Communication with the hosts was great and they were very understanding when my mother in law accidentally posted the key through the letterbox instead of leaving in the requested place. Thank you Charley and Charles!

    Laura2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely cottage, it was sparkling clean and just so lovely, the milk was a nice touch, thank you for that. The outside isn’t great (as in neighbours are just messy & doesn’t look the best) but this cottage really stands out from the crowd and once you’re inside it’s an absolute haven. Located right near Gorleston Beach and 10 min drive from Sea Life and Yarmouth Beach Front. Thank you so much for a lovely stay!

  • Friendly hosts, nice and clean house in quiet street close to public transport. Highly recommend

    Saulius2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • If you’re looking for somewhere that’s home from home with great host, I can highly recommend Michaela’s place. Nothing is too much trouble.

    Philip2019-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • All as described. Michaela is an exceptionally welcoming host. The room is excellent. The street is quiet. Michaela will make you continental breakfast if you want. The street is quiet. There is a nice garden to sit in if the weather is nice. The shortbread biscuits were nice. There is a very good golf course close by.

    Pauline2019-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed here with my fiancé as we were attending a wedding nearby. Michaela and Tim were both extremely welcoming, kind and thoughtful. Our room was very clean, and we were left to settle down comfortably. The extra little touches like grapes and biscuits were very appreciated. Everything was very organised and Michaela extremely fast at replying to messages. For breakfast, we sat in the garden enjoying the sunshine. I would 100% recommend staying here. Thank you Michaela and Tim for having us, we had a lovely stay and will definitely come again.

    Leanne2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Where can myself and my partner start. It was simply an amazing experience as I have never done this kind of thing before but it’s certainly give me a lot of confidence in the future to travel. We are both totally blind and the host couldn’t have been any more helpful. 5 out of five for Michaela and Tim. We definitely will be coming back again and the whole environment was very friendly and polite. The extra touch was picking us up and then taking us back which was very sweet of them to offer and you can only give it full marks. Also very reasonable pricing. From the very beginning when I messaged them, they were very prompt in their response and excellent communication.

    Sajid2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Michaela is a lovely host :) My husband and myself stayed at her place over a weekend in June 2019. Her place is so welcoming and cosy, It really feels like a home away from home :) Michaela puts a lot of thought and love into all details around the house and you can really feel that. There's also a varied breakfast which is lovely. We had a great time during our stay and also it was so easy to communicate with her and get quick responses. I highly recommend staying at Michaela's if you're in the area. Best x

  • Amazing place to stay with a group - don't often get to stay in a proper piece of history and the tower is beautifully preserved. Comfy beds, good kitchen, great access to the Broads and surrounding countryside. Would thoroughly recommend it!

    Ian2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • A really exciting and magical place to stay - you can imagine you're back in 14th century Yarmouth except with modern conveniences. The Tower has been restored and adapted sensitively to make it into a comfortable place to stay without losing its interesting historical architecture. Nice warm bed, well equipped kitchen, lots of hot water and fabulous views over the town plus right next to Time and Tide Museum. A must for lovers of Yarmouth's history and character.

    Katie2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Very authentic, lots of character place! Had an amazing weekend at the tower! The place spans across 5 floors, with fab stand alone bathtub, 2bedrooms, reception room and amazing kitchen. • Beautiful cottage in the village of Hemsby. Quiet location but within easy reach of the beach and the roads to all the areas. The house is quaint, really nicely furnshined and very pretty. There were books and games in the lounge to entertain us, and a smart TV for those who notice these things. The two bedrooms upstairs are very nicely decorated. The stairs are VERY steep but not a problem for us at all. The whirlpool bath added a lovely touch after a long day of walking. Fully kitted out kitchen with a dishwasher and of course Fridge/Freezer.

  • We had such a great long weekend at Judy's beautifully prepared and well appointed apartment. A warm welcome at check-in, where we were shown round a spotlessly clean, comfortable and cosy studio flat. It is in the roof space of a separate building affording complete privacy, but with the security of Judy's help near by. It was an ideal location for us as the main reason for our excursion was to see the seals at Horsey Gap, and the beaches there did not disappoint. We had the most delightful walk where we came close to hundreds of seals, spotted 3 red Deer in a field and explored beautiful ivy draped ruins of St Marys church. I would definitely recommend visiting and we are looking forward to coming back again to further the Broads again some time. Many thanks for looking after us so well.

  • We had a lovely short stay at Judy's Barn apartment. It was totally clean and tidy, but with a space to put muddy boots etc. Judy was there to welcome us and ensure we knew where everything was. We loved having a kitchen set up, and being able to cook some good meals. Its set up with with many things you might need, jugs, scales, whisk. We got lovely light in the morning through the big window and look forward to returning and having the window open and hearing and seeing the land across the fields.
