Establishment
“Nine minutes by car but also walkable and by bicycle. Check website for prices and opening times (restricted). Very much worth a visit - for interior or/and its gardens, recently re-developed following the recovered plans of Capability Brown. Check also events at the castle and the recently restored 'Engine Yard' nearby with high-end shops and a cafe. Walk the nearby 'Jubilee Way' - 4 miles to/from Stathern. Drink/eat at the Chequers, Woolsthorpe by Belvoir. ”

“Belvoir Castle is the ancestral home of the Dukes of Rutland. The family have lived at Belvoir in an unbroken line for almost a thousand years. Crowning a hill in Leicestershire, its turrets and towers rise over the Vale of Belvoir like an illustration in a romantic fairytale. Check the website for details of concerts, firework displays, events, tours etc.”

“Belvoir Castle is the ancestral home of the Dukes of Rutland. The family have lived at Belvoir in an unbroken line for almost a thousand years, The land was a gift from William the Conqueror to one of his Normal barons - Robert de Todeni who fought for him as his Standard Bearer at the Battle of Hastings in 1066. The castle is now currently owned by the 11th Duke of Rutland and is open to the public to explore the Castle and Estate. Look out for their specialist tours and events.
