Homes & Vacation Rentals in Grantham

Grantham Vacation Rentals

Just booked in Grantham

Our barn has been totally renovated but retained all its character with revealed stone and exposed beams. The woodburner and central heating keep it cosy. Outdoors there are big skies, peace and quiet and country walks to the pub in the village.
Come and explore the peace and quiet of sunny Lincolnshire. We have just finished converting a small barn next to our house so everything is new. There's a woodburning stove in the spacious, double height sitting/dining kitchen area. There is also a sofa bed for extra guests. The snug bedroom has a super-comfy kingsize bed and views over the garden. The bathroom has a walk-in shower and state-of-the art mirror. All linen and towels are provided. The whole barn is step-free and mobility friendly. There is plenty of parking and you have your own sunny private terrace. There is a well equipped kitchen with a microwave, fan oven, hob and dishwasher. There is a flatscreen tv/dvd and wifi. There's a hifi with ipod dock. DVD's, books and tourist information and maps are handy. Our garden and other terraces and barbeque are available for you to use. We are in deeply rural countryside but only 2 hours drive from London or 65 minutes by train (to Grantham). There are lots of options to tour from here or just walk on the footpaths nearby or cycle on our wonderful quiet lanes. I can collect you (and your cycles!) from the station by prior arrangement. I can provide breakfast baskets(£5pp) and packed lunches(£5pp) and can arrange to have groceries delivered if you order online ahead of time. There is a local shop/deli in Folkingham (2 1/2 miles away) and nearby pubs. With a weeks notice I can arrange for Lincolnshire Community minibus- Call Connect - to pick you up from the station. The barn is listed with a minimum stay of two nights. This is to cover cleaning, laundry etc. However, we may be willing to accept one night reservations at a slightly higher price per night or the option to bring your own linen and towels. If you want to stay for one night only please feel free to send us an enquiry and we'll see what we can do. The peace and quiet, big sky and open landscapes will lift your spirits.
Newton is a tiny village with a great pub. There are walks all around and we are only 10 miles from three towns with supermarkets, stations and banks. There are National Trust properties nearby and other historic buildings.
  • Judith was very warm and welcoming. The barn has a great homely feel to it and is an easy place to relax. I would definitely recommend to anyone planning to visit the area.

  • We enjoyed our stay at the Marvellous Barn hugely, Judith's welcome was very warm and she was very helpful. We appreciated the privacy and the spaciousness of the Barn. Also we had some great sleeps! The facilities in the Barn were just great. The village is very quiet and green. The local pub is a 10 minute walk away and does a nice evening meal. Shops are 10 -20 mins away in the car. We will be returning soon!

  • We had a wonderful stay in Madison's Marvellous Barn... we didn't want to come home! Judith was absolutely brilliant, giving us suggestions for places to visit and nearby walks, very easy to talk to and an overall excellent host. The barn was lovely and spacious, accommodated for all our needs with an amazing log burner to keep us cosy in the evenings :) we would recommend Judith and Madison's Barn to everyone. PS The Red Lion Pub in the village is also a must visit... GREAT food :)

    Sophie2014-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • The barn was the perfect place for a weekend getaway. Judith was a very friendly host with lots of nice touches and the barn conversion is recently done and in great order. The pictures accurately portray the barn. There was lots to do nearby but the village was very quiet. We had a nice meal in the village pub on the evening we arrived. Thanks for letting us stay in your lovely home.

    Chris2014-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Home from home. Judith kindly took my booking at very short notice and even had the wood stove lit for me when I arrived. The barn is a spacious, beautifully appointed and immaculately maintained place.

    Gary2014-11-21T00:00:00Z
  • We were made welcome the moment we arrived. There was coffee ,tea and biscuits available. Also a bottle of wine. The barn is in a quiet and peaceful area.It is well equipped and perfectly situated for touring south (URL HIDDEN) is within walking distance from a very good pub serving excellent food. All in all we had an excellent holiday and would definetely go back.

    Andy2015-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Judith and Richard were the perfect hosts. They made us feel so welcome and really made the weekend perfect. The barn was, if anything, even better than the lovely pictures. Judith made a great breakfast basket, and the sun was shining, so we enjoyed it outside on the patio both mornings. Taking in the view of the cows in the neighbouring fields and the lovely country air. The area is quiet and very pretty; and Judith and Richard taught us loads about it's history. Judith gave us a lift to and from the station, and showed us around the barn and how to use everything... which just made everything so easy. Not only would I massively recommend staying here, I also hope to come back again in the future myself. A thoroughly perfect stay x

    Caroline2015-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was just as I was expecting, and so much more! Judith had made Madison's Marvellous Barn so very welcoming and gone to such extra lengths to make our stay even more memorable. The barn is perfectly appointed and if you're looking for a quiet break then it is perfect space to relax!! A real treat for our first Airbnb!! Thank you Judith :)

What we liked most was the privacy, as the room is above the garage across the driveway from the main house. Good value too. Grantham is nearby with some interesting old buildings and restaurants. Thanks Emma!

  • Emma's place is a nice private suite above a detached garage of a family home. There are a private entrance and your own private bathroom. Basic tea and coffee and toast are provided for your breakfast as a nice start to the day. Everything was easy with Emma from communication, checking in and out. It was a short stay but exactly what I needed as I was passing through. And there was plenty of room for 4 people as two double beds and a large sofa was also in the room. I definitely didn't take advantage of all that space! Thanks for everything!

Our home is close to all amenities in Grantham - train station 1/2 mile, 10-15 mins walk. The A1 & A52 just moments away. Close to Belvoir Castle Harlaxton Manor Belton House. Former PM Mrs Maragret Thatcher was born here. We are always welcoming, enjoys meeting people from all walks of life. The room is spacious, warm, light, airy with a very comfortable bed powerful en-suite shower - oodles of storage/hanging space. Our place is good for couples solo travelers and business individuals
Warm spacious large double bedroom with lots of wall to wall built in storage on the top floor of the house enhanced with powerful shower in the Jack'n'Jill en-suite shower room with elevated views over Grantham. The room has a bedside table and lamp - medium size folding table which is suitable for laptop and printer - a further small folding laptop table and chair - fast wi-fi - USB portable laptop reading light - a 6 drawer chest which is useful for longer term bookings requiring more storage space. There's a separate lounge area on the ground floor with a TV for further relaxation - which may also suit guests requiring longer stays.
Our home is in a safe quiet neighbourhood with lots of relatively new homes. It's within walking distance to the railway station or a short taxi ride, close to shops and supermarkets - Marks & Spencer Food - Sainsbury's and Aldi to name a few. Grantham is a town not a city therefore guests are encouraged to be realistic when booking our place. Nottinghan and Lincoln are cities with all the hustle and bustle for guests looking for a faster pace and endless activities - they are accessible from Grantham 35 and 60 minutes respectively by train.

  • It's a beautiful house with the room like in the pictures. A very confortable bed to sleep like a baby, in a quiet residential area. I would recommend this house without doubts. The host was very helpful as well providing the information about the places to visit.

  • I almost don't want to tell you about Dee's place so I can guarantee availability for whenever I am in the area! But that would be unfair. Dee's place has just got to be 'sampled'. She is a fabulous host and her home is elegant, comfortable, super clean and welcoming. Dee was so helpful and generous and invited me to have dinner with her on one of the evenings I stayed. She is bright, funny, interesting and interested, so we had many a good conversation and quite a few laughs. I wish I could have booked for longer.

  • As soon as we arrived at the cottage Jayne came out to meet us and could not have been more welcoming or helpful. The cottage itself was spotless and bigger inside than it seemed in the listings. All the fixtures and fittings were as new. The fridge contained fresh eggs and home-made jams and there was bread, croissants, coffee, tea, milk etc. all on hand. Basically much more than we had expected. The cottage really did have a lovely "feel" to it especially with the log burner in a large feature fire-place. Upstairs the bedroom looked out across a well-kept garden and had a superb on-suite bathroom. We have been renting cottages for a few years now and can honestly say that Jayne was by far the most accommodating and helpful host we have come across. The village was very quaint and picturesque with plenty of country walks around and the local pub (three minutes walk away) was excellent with really good food. If we were coming to this area again we would not hesitate to re-book and would thoroughly recommend a stay at this delightful cottage.

    Jane2015-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • Jayne was a brilliant host. Very flexible with our check in and out tines which was great. The cottage itself is beautiful and finished at a very high standard, it totally surpassed our expectations. We had a great evening meal at the pub which was a 2 minute walk away. We will definitely return.

  • Wonderful place and amazing host! Such a great house and area. Thank you, Jane, for the perfect experience.

    Anton2016-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Jayne could not have been more welcoming to us. Her knowledge of things to do locally for all tastes and age demographics was superb and left us with a long list to get through in a short weekend which was great fun. Lovely area, lovely host. Greatly recommended.

    Buryhill2016-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and two young sons had a lovely two night stay at Paddock Cottage. We picked this accommodation for its central location for visiting family, the space and the quiet and rural location. Jayne was a warm and welcoming and made us feel at home. The Cottage has been converted to a very high standard and has a warm and comfortable feel about it. The wet-room bathrooms are lovely and we wish we had chance to light the log burner. Our boys loved playing in the garden and on the climbing-frame. We would definitely stay again and look forward to the opportunity to return to this lovely part of the country.

    Richard2017-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks.

    Lou2017-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is picturesque in a lovely quiet village. It's very cosy with plenty of space for 2 or 4 people. The bathrooms are modern and has an excellent sized bath. The bed is super comfy in a grand master suite. There was fresh milk in the fridge for a cuppa on arrival and a few little extras. We stayed for Valentines and had a great time.

  • Our Stay in Rebecca's studio flat was cozy and comfortable for our family as an overnight stay. We were presently surprised by the breakfast hamper and how well it was stocked for a compact space. Communication was excellent and Rebecca was there for any questions or queries we had. We loved our brief stay, thank you so much.

    Terri-Anne2017-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great night at Rebecca and Nicklaus's place. Great communication and very helpful hosts. Stayed with our two young daughters. Rebecca had kindly left some age appropriate games and DVDs for them which was a real help. Much better than a night at Premiere Inn which was our initial plan!

Welcome to our vintage Airstream motorhome B&B retreat, the ultimate get away sited in its own attractive private garden with adjacent coastal themed fully equipped and heated bathroom (with as much hot water as you want!) A stay with a difference where a warm welcome always awaits you.
The Airstream has been sympathetically restored with plenty of traditional features and accommodates 2 people very comfortably. There is a well lit and colourful kitchen equipped with sink and drying area, a gas hob and hob top kettle, small fridge, microwave, toaster, plenty of storage and a good sized preparation area. The lounge has 2 colourful seats to recline on with a specially built table for eating, reading, playing cards, writing or holding a bottle of wine and a couple of glasses. There is a USB charging port in the lounge and wifi is connected. The cosy bedroom has 2 very comfortable single beds with lovely cosy duvets to keep our guests feeling warm and cossetted. There is a small wardrobe and over bed cupboards and a hair dryer provided for our guests. There is a very efficient wood burning stove and a built in fan heater to keep the cold away. Our guests have the exclusive use of a separate specially built and fully equipped bathroom with underfloor heating, heated towel rail, shaver socket and hairdryer. We provide towels, bathrobes and slippers for your comfort. All crockery, glassware, cutlery, cooking utensils, bed linen, towels and bathrobes are included with the accommodation and if you want a break from washing up there is also a dishwasher provided. Relax outside with a glass of prosecco in your own charming terraced area with windout umbrella (should it dare to rain), barbeque and gas patio heater to keep you warm on chillier evenings. At dusk the garden comes to life with hundreds of twinkling fairy lights, creating a magical atmosphere. Check in time is from 3pm and check out from 11am.
The Airstream is located in a conservation area of the charming cliff edge village of Caythorpe, with local amenities including The Red Lion Inn which is good for food and craft ales and has a wonderful roaring log fire lit in the winter months and a well stocked Spar Shop where you can also buy newspapers. Caythorpe is bypassed by the A607 Grantham to Lincoln road and is close to the A17 Newark on Trent to Sleaford (and coast) road. The village is actually centrally situated between the historic market towns of Grantham (10 miles), Newark on Trent (10 miles) and Sleaford (9 miles) and the Cathedral City of Lincoln (11 miles) the cultural capital of our county. Grantham (which is bypassed by the Great North Road now known as the A1)is the birthplace of Margaret Thatcher and is close to Belvoir Castle and Woolsthorpe by Colsterworth which is the birthplace of Sir Isaac Newton. Newark on Trent as its name suggests is situated on the River Trent and places worth visiting are Newark Castle and the market (on certain days). Sleaford, situated on the pretty River Slea, is a sleepy market town which hosts a farmers market on certain weekends. The capital of our county, Lincoln has the River Witham and the Foss Dyke flowing through with boat trips available. There are many places to visit in Lincoln, including the Bail area, the Cathedral and Cathedral Quarter with the Bailgate shopping area, Castle (which houses one of the 4 original copies of the Magna Carta) and Museum. Other places of interest include The Collection (including the Usher Gallery) situated just off the aptly named Steep Hill. Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire have many places of interest and we have compiled a brochure that we hope will help you decide which you would like to visit. Lincolnshire is also home to the world famous aerobatic team, the Red Arrows which you may be lucky enough to spot practising in our huge open skies.
  • Charming vintage Airstream that has been very well restored/upgraded inside to make it modern and comfortable. The bed was surprisingly comfortable, even for me at 6ft 3inches tall. Built right next to it is a thoroughly modern, spacious, warm, clean bathroom with all that one could need. Step out from the Airstream onto the patio which is wonderfully built and very cleverly laid out with heater, barbeque and a splendid array of tasteful, solar powered lights. Clever lighting is a standout feature of the place with subtly placed, automated (by motion or timer) lamps of various types to give an enchanted feeling to the garden when the sun sets. Great place. I will certainly stay again.

Built in 1726, The Old Granary is a newly restored barn in the heart of a traditional English village. Within 1 minute’s walk of a superb local dining pub and surrounded by rolling countryside and super walks, it’s the perfect spot for a relaxed break. 30 mins from the historic cathedral city of Lincoln by car and rail links to London (1hr), York (1.75hr) Edinburgh (3hr) make it an ideal base for overseas visitors to explore some of the best of the UK’s towns, cities and sights.
Lovingly restored over two years, this little barn is a gem. Light and airy with all mod cons it still oozes charm and character with lots of original features. We managed to preserve the original fireplace and beautiful old beams in the kitchen and the ladder used as a light in the main bedroom was once the original staircase when the barn was used as a Granary. We've really made the most of the space to create a comfortable two bedroom cottage which sleeps 4 adults and 2 children comfortably. Underfloor heating and an open bio fuel fire make it a cosy escape; perfect for a small group of friends, a romantic getaway or a family break with the grandparents. Near level access from outside, level access on the ground floor with a good size downstairs shower room and a comfy double sofa bed in the lounge makes the space accessible for any guests who find stairs a challenge. Finished to a very high standard with plenty of storage it's a real home from home.
Caythorpe is one of the famous Lincolnshire 'ridge villages'. In the heart of the English countryside with some great easy walks right from the door, we love that we don't need to get in the car to get into the outdoors. It's a real living village. Lots of people have lived here all their lives and there's a great sense of community where everyone is welcome. If you don't want to stray too far, the Red Lion is our local pub. It's literally less than a minute's walk from the front door and serves great food at lunchtimes and in the evenings. It's always busy which is a good sign so whilst we're rarely unable to get a table on spec, it's best to book just in case. The Waggon & Horses is even closer and has a nice beer garden perfect for a drink on a warm sunny afternoon. Other great places to eat in neighbouring villages are the Hare & Hounds at Fulbeck and The Brownlow Arms at Hough on the Hill. Both are a pleasant 1.5 mile walk or a 5 minute drive. Best to book ahead for both. Did we mention the walking? We love to get out for a good tramp over the fields. There are miles of footpaths right on our doorstep. Explore the surrounding rolling countryside and famous Lincolnshire 'big skies' on one of many good circular walks with pub/cafe stops along the way. For younger visitors, there is a lovely safe playground and playing field just 5 mins walk away. Things to do nearby The National Trust's Belton House is just 10 mins drive away. This magnificent Regency House was once home to the Brownlow Family. With breathtaking gardens, including a maze, cafe, shop and a fantastic HUGE adventure playground it's a perfect family day out. When our kids were little Belton was literally like a second home! We spent most weekends there often staying all day and only coming home when it started to get dark. The nearest town is Grantham, birthplace of Margaret Thatcher and home of the Kings School where Isaac Newton was educated. Sadly, over the years the town planners have knocked the soul out of this place but it's still worth a quick look if only to see some of the ancient buildings like the Angel and Royal Hotel reputedly England's oldest inn. Nearby Newark-on-Trent is a bustling traditional Market town, the very pretty market square is home to a fantastic Saturday market. The town was an important place during the civil war and is home to a great little civil war museum. The ruined castle is worth a look too. The historic city of Lincoln is half an hour by car. It is one of England's most charming cathedral cities. See one of the surviving copies of the Magna Carta at the castle, explore the quaint shops and cafes in the cathedral quarter and take a look around the magnificent cathedral. For younger visitors the Lincolnshire Museum of Life is a nice hands-on experience. Further afield Lincolnshire is a great base from which to explore some of the best cities in the UK. The East Coast mainline runs fast direct services from Grantham and Newark to London (1hr 15), York (under 1hr), Durham (1hr 40mins), Newcastle (less than 2hrs) and Edinburgh (3.5 hrs)
  • The Old Granary is an immaculately modern remodel of an old stone building. Great comfy beds, two friendly pubs nearby, warm welcoming hosts. Sam even provided us with detailed directions for a loop walk through the village and farm fields on the public footpaths. Outstanding!

    Kathryn2017-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is a perfect little find for a relaxing stay in beautiful surroundings. The beds were very comfortable, even the bed settee and the colours and style of the decor and furnishings are both subtle and creative. It's deceptively spacious and there's ample storage. Very clean and neat, with everything you need in the kitchen cupboards. The welcome is great too, a surprise bottle of wine in the welcome pack was a very nice touch and the hosts are exceptionally friendly and polite. Fabulous restaurants nearby, we enjoyed a gorgeous meal at The Stag 10 mins drive away. Wish we could whisk it all away and live in it :)

    Mim2017-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • It's a clean and cozy room, and the owners are also very kind! I stayed with my family. I want to go again.

  • WOW! This place is amazing! Newly converted and with everything you could possibly need from a holiday home. The decor inside is beautiful and you feel like you are staying in an up-market boutique hotel. The village is quiet and pretty and a local pub a very short walk away. We stayed with our toddler and there was plenty of room for a cot, there was also a playground within walking distance. Sam was a friendly host and left a lovely box of goodies for when we arrived.

    Kate2017-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • The Old Granary is an excellent place to stay. It is both very comfortable and attractive and has been converted and decorated to a very high quality. The hosts were very helpful in their communications. They gave us a warm welcome and were clearly willing to help in any way they could but also left us to enjoy our break. The house is in an attractive village which is quiet, with lovely countryside around. The walk we went on from the house included panoramic views. There is a nearby pub serving good food. We would definitely recommend this accommodation.

  • Absolutely amazing stay.Extremely relaxing and great location if you wish to stroll to two local pubs. Very friendly and personable host, nothing too much trouble.

  • We booked The Old Granary for a business trip as we were exhibiting at a show at Belton House. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome by Sam and her family. The accommodation is beautiful, everything is high-end and contains everything you need for a very comfortable stay. We would not hesitate to recommend this property, and are all looking forward to staying again!

    Natasha2017-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • A stunning house in the beautiful countryside. Sam couldn't have been more helpful providing a little goodie basket on arrival and directions for local restaurants. The barn conversion has been completed to a very high standard and we were pleasantly surprised on arrival at just how lovely it really was. We will definitely stay here again!

  • My boyfriend and I had a fantastic stay at The Stable in Dry Doddington and Gavin and his wife have been such lovely hosts. We were welcomed on our arrival by two kind, smiling faces, a warm handshake and a cupboard and fridge with supplies that saved us a trip to the supermarket for breakfast. The bed was very comfortable, the apartment was extremely clean, the surroundings were beautiful and very quiet. We left feeling relaxed and rejuvenated and cannot wait to visit the farm again. I would not hesitate to recommend staying at The Stable to any of my friends and family. We look forward to staying here again very soon. Thank you for giving us such a lovely getaway experience. A private double en-suite room in Old Manor House, a family home dating back to 1631 in the quiet village of Little Humby. We welcome singles, couples and can also offer an extra bed and/or travel cot in the room too (at an extra charge of £10 pppn payable locally). This is a busy family home including three children, two dogs and a cat (also horses and hens - but they don't come in the house!). The room is very private as it is situated on the ground floor away from the family's accommodation.
Price includes a light breakfast. If you would like to bring one well behaved, house trained dog please message me to arrange (£10 per night, payable locally). We can also accommodate your horse by prior arrangement too - message me.
  • Everything about this home is beautiful, including the family! The ancient house is so warm and comfortable and Tess cooks a delicious breakfast. Even the children are hospitable. And you can't help but like their dogs. Utterly charming

    Old Manor House
    15 reviews
[See other listing 'Whole House' - for 8 guests]. My home is spacious and comfortable. It's developed through time with affection. The Airbnb third floor attic has its staircase (steepish), double bedroom, shower room/toilet, lounging area, & room for two children (pre-school go free) OR couple who can cope with intimate space! Simple help-yourself breakfast included. Downstairs & garden accessible. Bikes available. The village is lively and transport links good. Come to walk, cycle, chill.
The top floor, the third, plus own door and (steepish) stairway is exclusive to guest/s, as is the small shower room inc. toilet. There is a double room with one bed and a lounging area, plus smaller space / bedroom for one (or 2) other/s. A baby or older child is welcome but a toddler and the stairs may not be compatible - it might not be safe. Same goes for those who cannot manage stairs well. A discussion about this is encouraged. Note that the roof inclines so that it is low at the sides of rooms but there is still full height space throughout. It includes some beautiful exposed beams but has also been recently modernised. The decor is simple with an old and contemporary mix. There is wifi but no TV. You can hear the occasional vehicle passing and the odd bird hopping on the roof!
Village background: Craven House has old connections with Belvoir estates, like much of the surrounding buildings and the church. What was the old Fleming hospital, developed by a good doctor and the 'friendly society', is next door. There are many Grade II listed buildings in the area. The church is well worth a visit and offers free wifi during the day! It is elegant with its own medieval beginnings, resonant with tales of the Earls of Rutland, the ‘witches’ of the 17th century, the community’s part in the wars. The old part of the village still has long houses and a few remaining walled gardens for vegetable growing. Today, with a population around 3,000, the village is swelling fast and lively with children, schools, playing fields and skate park. There is some light industry at either end of the village, including the claypigeon factory and the stilton cheese factory. Other local produce includes cereals, rape oil, honey, Belvoir cordials and porkpies. Do ask about these. Bottesford facilities: the village has a butchers, greengrocers, plus Co-op (8am-10pm including Sunday) and Spar supermarkets (open late; very good selection of wine and ales). There are three pubs though they do not do food at weekends. There is a chippy, a Chinese and an Indian restaurant, several cafes - the Poppy and Pizzini. A bit more upmarket are 'Paul's' bistro and restaurant, The Thatch. All a short walk away. [Check for some closures on Mondays]. With transport, you can get to good pubs/restaurants all around the villages. Other attractions are Belvoir Castle itself, a few miles from Bottesford, with entry to the house or/and grounds (not cheap) mostly on Sunday and Monday from Easter. Look for the castle’s Gothic silhouette when approaching the village. There is Isaac Newton’s house and garden at Woolsthorpe Manor, Woolsthorpe-by-Colsterworth, and Belton House at Grantham. [Check the postcodes of places as there are two ‘Bottesfords’, two ‘Woolsthorpes’ and two ‘Caythorpes’ – very confusing]. Of course, there are many more points of interest including nightlife in Nottingham, the city where I grew up. Some miles drive outside the city, you can find the Dukeries, Sherwood forest, Clumber Park - the ‘Robin Hood’ territory. Rutland, the Lincolnshire Wolds and Derbyshire are really not that far if you wanted to travel around, and there are a number of pleasant market towns dotted about too. In the first six months of Airbnb (to end August, 2016) guests have stayed for the following reasons: walks, the national water sports stadium and rowing, sky diving at Langar airfield, tough mudding at the castle, a number of weddings, business meetings in Grantham and Nottingham, a tour of historic buildings in the area, bell-ringing, horse trials, travelling across the Midland counties, and various London-Scotland trips...welcome all Europeans!
  • This was an ideal place to stay for the couple of nights that we needed it. It has character, it has everything you need, and it is well located in the village. We will definitely stay here again.

    Andy2017-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful comfortable rooms in a lovely home. The rooms were clean and warm , comfy bed and provisons left out for breakfast were much appreciated too. Harriet was friendly and helpful . Would fully recommend.

    Ally2017-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • Harriet's home is welcoming, comfortable, well-equipped and really well located if you are travelling on the A1. This was our first Airbnb experience and was a great tonic from the usual Travellodge stuff. Harriet made us very welcome with nothing left to chance. Communication all worked very well with Harriet responding quickly to our questions. The village is nice with a few nearby pubs and resturants. Thank you !

    Tony2016-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Harriet is warm and welcoming, and made us feel right at home. Her house and garden are beautiful. Next time we're in the area we'd love to stay again.

    Rebecca2016-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • The listing description was accurate and the location is great. The garden is fantastic!

    Stephanos2016-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • Harriet has a lovely quiet nice welcoming home and my room was very clean and tidy as listed.

    Adam2016-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • A really pleasant stay. Harriet was warm and welcoming without being intrusive. Everything was explained clearly and I felt able to ask questions about the house and surrounding areas. The house is a delight and my rooms comfortable, warm and relaxing. I particularly liked the privacy afforded by being on the third floor and the sole access to shower/ toilet/ sink without disturbing anyone else. Social areas are convenient, well organised and I felt at ease using them. The house is clean, warm and comfortable throughout. Bottesford is a charming village with amenities including a number of places to eat and three cosy pubs. St Marys (more or less on the doorstep) is well worth a visit. There are plenty of clearly marked footpaths accessible from the house without needing transport - and the church spire a great landmark, visible for miles around, a handy beacon should you get lost!. Belvoir castle is only a short drive away. I arrived by train and had no trouble locating Harriet's home just a short walk from the station. I highly recommend staying here if you are considering visiting the area!

    Wendy2016-03-31T00:00:00Z

Would certainly recommend anyone to stay here if in the area. Tea and coffee making in the room with a flask of cool, real milk in the room. A private bathroom and even bath robes provided if wanted. Ian was up early to make me breakfast, but I'm not a breakfast person so a quick coffee and out on the road early. Thanks Ian for getting up so early.

Welcome to our 1820's home which offers a cosy double room, hot drinks, bathroom with toiletries, lounge with flatscreen TV, free parking and assistance at all times. We include a FULL English breakfast with special touches and a warm welcome! Lunch or Dinner can be provided for an additional fee and there are plenty of rooms for you to relax in and enjoy the feel of such an old property
Our house is a spacious Georgian home that is a family home but a welcoming experience to guests. We have an double room with wi-fi and a separate bathroom with small gym and TV area which has a garden view.
We love where we live as it us a large 7 bedroom property with 2 acres of land but it is just off the A1 with 4 other properties and the main village across the main road. It has great transport links but is in the countryside. Great property, space, parking and our family are friendly and welcoming to share and help where possible!
  • Michelle went out of her way to help me with lifts in and out of town and made me feel at home in this rather lovely rambling old house with lots of character. Her young son was most helpful too- a thoroughly enjoyable experience with lots of nice walks in the vicinity. Recommended!

    Deborah2017-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle and Jonathan were very welcoming, picking us up from town (via a wine warehouse), giving us cocktails and then cooking us a delicious new year's dinner (beef Wellington!). We had a great time in Grantham, especially enjoyed the bucking bronco in the gym!

    Oscar2016-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • A warm, friendly welcome from our hosts. Their home is unusual and a lovely place to stay. Breakfast was a good cooked breakfast meeting our requests. A good stop en route further north as it is so close to the A1. It was surprisingly not over noisy from the sound of the traffic.

    Rosie2017-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Johnathan and Michelle are very nice people. They are very welcoming and it is a bit like staying with family. Michelle was very helpful in securing dinner reservations at the last minute. Their property has much character, but, in our opinion, needs a bit more effort to get it up to an exceptional standard. If you don't mind your accomodations being a bit untidy and you aren't too fussed about small things, it might be a good experience. However, if you are looking for elegance and a spotlessly maintained property, this might not be for you.

  • Beautiful house, super friendly hosts, cracking breakfast. Will definitely come back.

  • We had such a great time with Michelle and Jonathan! They are really generous hosts- we weren't expecting to have wine around the table like old friends! :) There are plenty of lovely little extra touches that make this place special- I will let people discover them for themselves and not ruin the surprise! Safe to say Jonathan's breakfast was absolutely delicious and next time we hope to try his dinners too. Thanks for a great stay both of you xx

    Phoebe2017-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • Had an absolutely fantastic stay at Michelle and Jonathan's family home. The room was just what we needed and we had access to a private living room, bathroom and gym (we had fun trying to ride the bucking broncho type machine). They went above and beyond to make sure that we were comfortable. Jonathan gave us a lift into town and gave us a lot of really useful information about local places to eat/drink and things to do around the area. Really enjoyed the hot tub and were given lots of towels and dressing gowns and felt very well looked after. Breakfast was delicious. Thank you so much for such a nice stay, it was a pleasure to meet such a lovely family.

  • This was a wonderful stay at Rosemary Cottage. Sara and John made us feel very welcome. Everything was there what we needed . We would have loved to stay longer. Our kids could explore the whole grounds and were happy to use the trampoline and tennis court. To bad it wasn't summer to use the pool. We will definitely be back. Thank You Sara and John

  • Had a relaxing time at the Rosemary cottage. Everything was as expected and some nice extras including hot cross buns in the fridge for when we arrived. The cottage has amazing views across the garden and surrounding area and the location is very peaceful. We would like to return to explore more of the local area.

    Ed2017-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cottage in amazing countryside location. Like a little retreat. Sarah was really helpful and communicative when setting up and arranging the stay. Checking in and out went very smoothly. Very happy with everything.

  • What a lovely experience staying at Rosemary Cottage! Flowers, wine, bread, home-made jam upon arrival; better than some 5 star hotels I've stayed in. A beautiful location, immaculate interiors, stunning garden and countryside views. We loved your dogs too! To be honest, we didn't want to leave and can't wait to come back- can we be your permanent lodgers?!

    juliet2015-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • Me and my family had a brilliant stay at Sara and John's cottage. Can't fault our stay, the property was perfect for our needs and John & Sara were amazing hosts with some great local recommendations on things to do and places to see. Would highly recommend

    Tom2017-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • Sara and John provided a very warm welcome to their cottage and our two night stay. Communication before arrival was excellent. All our queries were answered quickly, their generosity stretching to childsitting for us - and making great recommendations for local pubs. The cottage is cosy, very well equipped and the views are stunning from the gardens. Our little boy loved their dogs and the space to explore the large ourdoor spaces and swing. The hosts are very welcoming, nothing is too much trouble and they are a pleasure to chat and do business with. We loved our stay there, thank you.

New to Airbnb in Summer 2017 - proving popular with bookings and great reviews. The Old Barn is totally self-contained with its own entrance and parking right outside the door on the private drive. An extremely spacious barn conversion dating back to 1820 with character features including a beamed ceiling and an open fire place. Well equipped for a short break. Sleeps 4 comfortably and can sleep up to 6.
Versatile accommodation perfect for couple(s) or a family. Sleeps 4 comfortably. Can sleep up to a family of 6 if this includes children. However please note the table in the kitchen only seats 4. There is a king size bed and a trundle bed which makes a double or two singles in the spacious bedroom. There is also a double sofa bed in the sitting room.
This is the only Airbnb property in the lovely stone village of Ropsley. We have a fantastic pub 'The Green Man' open Tues - Sun which also serves tea / coffee and cakes and provides a takeaway menu. There is a pay as you play golf course in the village. There is a really good children's playground and lots of lovely countryside to walk in.
  • Rebecca and Pat were the perfect hosts. Lovely, peaceful setting. The old barn was homely and well equipped. Ropsley is a quiet, little village with a cosy village pub, surrounded by beautiful countryside. Would highly recommend. Will be returning again.

    Paul2017-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to stay. Clean, tidy, good parking. Rebecca had it set up ready to put the children straight to bed after a very long journey.

    Deborah2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice place. An old barn well renovated. Only one regret, not to stay longer!

    Christian2017-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Great family space with a very warm welcome from the hosts Rebecca and Patrick. There was a well equipped kitchen which made all the difference, and Rebecca even got a highchair for us to save us bringing one from home. We used the barn as a base for day trips to our favourite National Trust property, nearby Belton House, which was fantastic for the children. There was a lovely play park in Ropsley too within a short walking distance. Very enjoyable and would happily go back again.

    Sarah2017-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Had everything we needed. Thank you

    Jane2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had a perfect stay at The Old Barn . Taking my 60year old + parents away for a weekend there was more than enough space for four adults. The beds were very comfortable, and the kitchen was perfect for our needs (heating up things in the oven and making coffee) Rebecca was speedy and friendly in communication and even provided decaf coffee for my mother. The village is very beautiful but not large, with a pub menu we were sad to miss in our short stay. However it was minutes away from Nottingham so ideal for exploring wider. We intend to come back next year and I'd really recommend it.

    Hannah2017-08-13T00:00:00Z

Self contained rural accommodation with private entrance. Sitting room with log fire and sky sports. Double bed with own bath / shower room. The second bedroom (also with a double bed) will only be let with the first as one booking as they share the bathroom. There is also a sofa bed in the sitting room for occasional use. The dining/breakfast room has tea and coffee making facilities. We have up to four stables and usually some grazing available for guests who wish to bring their own horses.
Steep stairs may not be suitable for the less active. This is a non smoking house although guests are welcome to do so in the extensive garden.
Very rural location 300 metres outside of Saltby - which has no street lights! Large number of good local pubs, including the Nags Head in the village, offer a wide range of food and ale.
  • The house is beautiful, set in picturesque countryside, so peaceful and calm and we were warmly greeted by Julia. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and a real treat. Our stay was perfect and we would definitely return and highly recommend Julia's lovely home.

  • Very quiet country location. Cosy cottage, low door frames upstairs. Good cooked breakfast supplied everyday. Hosts very helpful and friendly. Shopping 9 miles to Melton Mobray. Table and chairs to sit outside. Ducks and chickens in garden. Small fridge in dinning room for guest use. We had a very good stay with no negatives.

We will certainly be recommending this place to friends.

You can look forward to a warm welcome in our family home near Belvoir Castle. We are two fields from neighbours and nowhere near streetlights, so you will find peace & quiet with amazing stars! You'll have an ensuite bathroom & use of ground floor.
The house is quite literally in the middle of nowhere... There are plenty of horses and people around most of the time though. The room offers a very comfortable double bed and there is an open log fire in the sitting room in winter.
You would love the silence and the chattering of the birds! Very little mobile signal though so peace is almost guaranteed.
  • A warm welcome, relaxed easygoing host family, a good room for a night. Don't expect tip-top luxery (it is more like a farm-style) but surely a very wonderfull place to be. And if you like horses and riding this is a must!

    Gabriel2015-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely family! They made me feel so welcome! I stayed over when attending a wedding nearby - they were more than accommodating in helping with taxis, an iron, snacks, waited up for me and even bought me a tea tray and cooked me poached eggs for breakfast! Highly recommended!

  • Excellent home in the Leicestershire countryside. Hilary and her family made me and my 6 year old Liam feel as part of the family.

    carlo2015-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed the quiet of this place and the warm welcome of our hosts. A short drive to The Gregory gave us a good dinner. Cereals were laid out for breakfast and we made tea and toast as our hosts were busy with horses and church on Sunday morning. We drove the short distance to Woolsthorpe Manor, the home and birthplace of Isaac Newton: a very worthwhile visit and a great weekend.

    Simon2016-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • A super comfy bed, in a cosy room, in a country house. Hannah was a great hostess, informing us of special local events (in our case the firework championships) before our stay and showing us the meteor shower when we arrived. Highly Recommended.

  • I relocated to the UK from Australia and my first stop was with Hilary, Malise, Hannah and Lizzie. I was welcomed into their family and they went well out for their way to make me feel at home and helped me when I really needed it. Accommodation was as described in their family home. A very comfortable room with an ensuite. They are situated in a very rural setting with horses on your doorstep, in a lovely part of England. I highly recommend staying here. It has been an absolute pleasure!

  • Hannah and her family were so lovely! They welcomed us in their home like friends and we had a great time with them. The place is fantastic, a family home with a huge garden and stables all around. Hannah responded clearly an quickly to our queries and gave us good instructions to find the place. All together, a great experience and a great stopover for us when going north from London! We'll surely be back and highly recommend the place to anyone!

  • It's cosy quirky location this studio apartment is a delight, neutral decor and huge bed. The breakfast delivered to your door in the morning at a time that suits you was amazing. And listening to the wildlife and animals along with the stargazing as little light pollution was just perfect. Both hosts were very friendly and we couldn't have asked for a better night away.

My place is close to the centre of the village. It is ideal for one or two, self-catering - couples, solo adventurers, business travellers. Simple breakfast included. Room for parking to side and a space to the side of the spiral staircase if needed for storage. From October 20th 2016.
The space is like a tardis. It opens up at the top and is a warm, compact space, simply furnished. Although it is next to a village street on one side, it is generally quiet; you can hear owls in the evening sometimes.
The studio space is near the centre of the village with a greengrocers, a butchers, and two small supermarkets a minute or two away for those wishing to cook. Otherwise, there are two pubs (limited food), two cafes and two good restaurants, one with a wine bar and sometimes live music, as well as good fish and chips, Indian (sit down) and Chinese take-away amenities. The church dates from the medieval period and is well worth investigating. All around there are walks. A drive away, plenty more to visit.
  • This is a fantastic gem! Wonderful use of space and had everything we needed. We had a little trouble with the WiFi but Harriet was happy to accommodate our needs. There was also an amazing Indian restaurant about a 5 minute walk away! I'd recommend staying here to my fellow travelers!

    Elizabeth2017-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great place – very small; you couldn't have more than one other over person for dinner, and the the cooking facilities are minimal, but everything is very cleverly arranged and the room does not feel cramped at all but rather quite cozy. Even the shower and bathroom are very generous, and the bed is big and fluffy. Shopping for basics is right around the corner so within an hour I'd practically settled in. Despite frigid weather it warmed up quite quickly and stayed warm. It's a neat little room!

    Erich2017-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • Harriet is an amazing host, left us to our own devices but advice was there if needed. Exceptional place to stay, very cosy and the location is fantastic. Little bits like tea, coffee and a small pantry came in extremely useful! Would recommend to everyone and will be sure to make a return visit.

Cool and unique location for visiting clients. Our totally awesome Quirky Log Cabin is set within our mannequin recycling yard. Featuring a double bed and comfortable old fashioned sofa, big enough to sleep on, it will sleep 5 adults in total, with an extra airbed. A fantastic view across to the Lincolnshire Ridge, wood burning stove and Cat 5 Internet tops off this Cabin with both pleasing imagery and basic needs. Not suitable for children as it is set on a commercial site.
Also used for industry crew when travelling and as a part time security hut, all the basics are covered. Bathroom with shower. Log burner. The kitchen area has a kettle, microwave, grill, toaster and halogen oven. In addition there is an iron and ironing board.
It's very quiet apart from the birds chirping away. Occasional weekend noise from nearby car race track - daytime only. Our body shop, full of recycled mannequins is here to browse through a spare limb or two.
  • This cabin is a lucky find! The place is very comfortable and spacious. Roz provides more than enough and is a very friendly and conscientious host. The site is as described, literally the largest collection of weird and wacky mannequins. Would recommend staying here!

  • A unique place ideal for people who like something a little out of the ordinary. The cabin is quite spacious and we easily could have spent a lot more time here without feeling cooped up like you would in a hotel room, or feeling like a guest in someones house. Roz made check in and check out very easy and was around if we had needed.

    George2017-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Quirky cabin is just right. Exceptionally peaceful and relaxing with fantastic views across the countryside. Roz is a fantastic host and the cabin was clean and comfortable. Will certainly stay again when travels bring me this way.

  • The 'Quirky Log Cabin' was easy to find and we were met on arrival by Roz, who was very welcoming and very helpful. The cabin was perfect for our needs, it was comfortable and peaceful and we all slept very well. The mannequin yard is an amazing spectacle and we had lots of visits and cuddles from the resident cats. A wonderful break, we were sorry to leave.

  • Roz's cabin is the perfect getaway for a quiet weekend. Situated just out of the small village of Fulbeck it is surrounded by beautiful countryside and an abundance of birds and nature. We had so much fun jamming by the fire and playing with the cats and kittens. The mannequin yard is full of character as is the cabin and the rest of Roz's land. Highly recommended to stay here. We felt right at home. Thanks Roz.

  • We wanted a chilled, girls weekend in the countryside and that is exactly what we got. Pauline's place is great, she made us feel so welcome and at ease. The flat is next door to where they live but you don't feel like you're in each others pockets, we felt completely relaxed. We had planned to go out on Saturday but decided not to bother, just stayed around the hot tub with a few tipples and got fish and chips delivered :) We walked into Long Bennington on Sunday (around 45 minutes each way), there are some great country pubs so I'd recommend going there on your visit. Would definitely recommend to others and would visit again. (You should include more pics of the lovely garden and hot tub - it's a beautiful place to be)

  • Pauline was very welcoming and provided everything we needed. Lovely property in a gorgeous setting.

    Veronica2017-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • What a fantastic place and an amazing host! Pauline was extremely helpful right from the start once we had enquired about booking and helped make our stay really special. Pauline was there to greet us upon arrival and made us feel really welcome, giving us a tour and also helping with recommendations in the area. There were some welcome gifts for us and the apartment was exactly as described. Everything was really clean and there was all the amenities you need for a weekend away. What makes this place extra special (above the incredible host and amazing architecture of a historical British Public House which has been converted) is that you also have access to the hot tub in the garden. This truly topped our weekend off in style. It's safe to say I would 100% recommend this property and Pauline as a host.

    Myles2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • This is a super little place with real charm. Pauline couldn't have been kinder or the welcome more warm. There was milk and wine in the fridge, heaps of big towels and the cosiest, well stocked and cleanest place we could've wished for. Ideal location for our needs. Will definitely return.

  • Great place to stay, nice and comfortable with all the amenities you need.

  • We had a wonderful 2 night stay - Gayle was the perfect host. The Stable was was warm, welcoming and cosy and Little Humby is a beautiful, quiet village. We would definitely stay again one day.

    Laura2016-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • The Stable is a really cosy place to stay. Gayle is a very friendly host and shared info about local running routes and places to eat. The Stable is clean with a fully equipped kitchen. The bed is comfy and the bathroom has a large powerful hot shower. The Stable is really spacious with a large kitchen and lounge area for chilling out. The nearest pub (Green Man) does great steaks and ales and can be walked to in about 20mins (1 mile) along the quiet lanes. I would definitely stay again if in the area. It would make a great base for a cycling holiday.

  • Gayle's place is exactly as advertised. Gayle herself is advertised as fantastic, but she isn't...she is MUCH BETTER than fantastic. She is responsive, thoughtful, flexible, amusing, calm, and caring. This spot is perfect for visiting my mom and dad who live close by. Thanks Gayle! What a find!

Traditional but modern country house in the beautiful Vale of Belvoir. Loads of opportunities for walking and cycling. Near country gastro pubs and restaurants. Ideal for a long weekend. Continental breakfast included.
The room is light and airy; it has a chest of drawers and a double bed. There is also hanging space available. Exclusive use of a big bathroom which is next to the room.
The house is a very quiet area. Very popular amongst walkers and cyclists. Very nice pubs and restaurants within a radius of 10 minutes drive.
  • I had a great stay with Alfonso and his wife this week.....the house is divine in a beautiful village. The room and bathroom were both impeccably clean. The bed was comfortable with warm bedding and they made me a lovely breakfast every morning with fresh fruit salad and yogurt. Gorgeous. Highly recommended

My house is close to the centre of the village of Bottesford, which is between Grantham and Nottingham and off the A52. You’ll love the peacefulness of the house and garden. It is good for big groups - please see other listings for more photos and details. The downstairs floor has a bedroom that is convenient for those who find the stairs tricky, for those with small children, and for those with a dog! There is a downstairs bathroom nearby.
For all info on the house and environs, you can read my other listing - 'lovely home near Belvoir Castle' Please note that this is normally my home and so will not be as immaculate as a 'country cottage', etc property. Some cupboards may have files or the odd thing in. Bedrooms are mostly free of stuff, however. Most guests say that the house has a very peaceful atmosphere and this is what I hope every guest will enjoy. Do, though, write in my suggestions book (hall table) with any constructive criticisms.
The village itself has some interesting old parts, especially St Mary's, the medieval church. It is popular for a number of reasons: eating facilities, weddings; as a cycling and motorbike meeting place; for nearby places of interest too such as Belvoir Castle, Belton House and Isaac Newton's house. It is a convenient place to stay as it is near so many routes, north and south, and also close to many sporting centres, eg. the National Water Stadium.
  • We stayed at Harriet's wonderful house in Bottesford for a local family wedding, where we all travelled from different parts of the world. It was absolutely perfect and so much space. We were lucky with some amazing weather and had a chance to relax and enjoy the beautiful garden. Thank you for your hospitality Harriet.

    Leanne2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Harriet's place is warm, inviting and very spacious, yet still retains a cosy feel, we stayed for a couple of nights and would happily recommend to anyone! Thanks

  • Lovely property, exactly what it says on the tin. Harriet communicated efficiently and couldnt have been more helpful. Would highly reccomend.

  • Very spacious, well equipped and comfortable, lovely village, friendly host, gorgeous garden. Highly recommended!

  • Harriet was an amazing host and went so far out of her way to help us at a time when things were very stressful. Her house is very homely and comfortable with plenty of room and everything you could need was there. I would 100% recommend to anyone.

    Lisa2016-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • Harriet is the perfect hostess and Craven House is the perfect house. We booked the entire house to celebrate my daughters' 18th and 21st birthdays. This was quite complicated as people were travelling from different parts ofthe country. Bottesford was reasonably central for everyone and the train from London to Grantham is a good service. 10 family members ranging in ages from 18 to 88 were most comfortably accommodated in Craven House's beautiful bedrooms. We ate lovely breakfasts in the elegant dining room, relaxed with cups of tea in the sunny garden room and enjoyed basking in the sunshine in the sheltered, flower filled garden. Harriet was extremely supportive in helping me organise the weekend (I live in Bristol!). She put me in touch with Paul's, the local restaurant where we had a wonderful celebratory meal one evening, she found a superb cake making company in the next village who produced a fabulous surprise birthday cake and delivered it to the restaurant, she couldn't have been more helpful and even provided a few essentials for us upon arrival. She also suggested outings suitable for all ages, so we visited Belvoir Castle, walked along the local canal and had a pub lunch. Harriet, we had a wonderful and really memorable celebratory family weekend. Thank you so much. Cravan House is a great place to stay for a family gathering or group activity. I highly recommend it.

    Hilary2017-04-09T00:00:00Z
  • Harriet's house is clean, comfortable, well-equipped and easily accessed, by both road and train. The patio and garden are sheltered and ideal for sitting and eating in, even if the sun isn't actually shining. The neighbourhood is quiet and friendly, and the wider environs contain a number of interesting places to visit, within an hour's drive. Harriet herself is relaxed and friendly and very accommodating. Heartily recommended.

Independent Guest Suite with private access. Overlooking a private garden. In a quiet area close to local hospital, all main amenities and within walking distance from town centre, parks, etc.
Quiet residential area with mature trees, riverside walk nearby but no risk of flooding. Very close to local hospital.
  • This was a very good place for my first AirBnB experience. A welcome cup of tea when I arrived was much appreciated. The private flat made it easy to come and go without disturbing the family - and the location was great for a model aircraft meeting at Barkston Heath. Oh, and the wifi was first class.

  • Best airbnb experience I ever had!! Sujata was great. She came to pick me up at Grantham train station and was very helpful. We have a lovely small room available in our home. There is a comfortable double bed, bedside tables and a single wardrobe. There is a private bathroom near the bedroom. It has a bath but doesn't have a shower. We have creaky floorboards! . Parking is available on the drive.
The room is lovely and in an ideal location for exploring all that this area has to offer. There is a pub in the village which is great to walk to, you can even walk to a pub in another village! We are ideally located for Weddings and Events in the Vale of Belvoir - Langar Hall and Belvoir Castle, Bingham, Melton Mowbray and surrounding area. Also we are a couple of miles from Langar so ideal for skydivers, we can see them from our garden!
Harby is a village located for easy travel to Grantham, Nottingham and Leicester. It has a really lovely pub - The Nag's Head serving fabulous meals. There is also a shop/post office which sells everything you can think of. There is a café which is open every day except Sunday and a fuel station too!
  • Susan is a most friendly and warm hostess and very hospitable. The house is clean, cosy and comfortable and very quiet. My own private bathroom and a free parking place added further to a pleasant stay. I also appreciated the interesting conversations with Susan and Richard. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone!

  • We stayed with Susan for 1 night as part of a birthday treat weekend away for Julia. And it was definitely a TREAT! We had a great time. When we first arrived at Susan's we drank tea in the secluded garden. A little later on we were able to get a fabulous meal at the Nags Head Pub, only a short walk away. On our return from the pub we played cards in the cosy kitchen. Susan and Richard are brilliant. They looked after us so well, whilst also giving us space. They know exactly what to do to make someone feel at home. In the morning we had a really relaxed friendly chat with them before leaving. We would definitely like to return. Highly recommended Thanks, Tim and Julia.

  • Communication with Susan was fantastic and she was most helpful in providing info re local taxis and somewhere to eat as well as arranging our arrival time. We were met by Susan who immediately made us feel very welcome and we were shown to our room where everything was very clean. There was an offer for us to use the sitting room and kitchen however as we were only staying for one night we had no need. We had a really good nights sleep, the area is very quiet and peaceful. Susan made us a cup of tea in the morning and we had a nice chat before setting off. Overall I would say that Susan is an excellent host, her home is lovely and welcoming and I would recommend to anyone. Thanks Susan!

  • Susan's home was the perfect place for my husband and I to stay following a wedding near by. The room was great, bed comfy and chit chat with Susan was lovely! Excellent communication between host and guests in the run up to our stay.

  • I stayed at Susan's home on a weekend (skydiving at the nearby Langar airfield) and highly enjoyed the experience. Susan is a lovely host and made feel welcome and at ease. Her home is very clean and gorgeously designed and decorated, in charming pastel tones. The room is very nice, with a very clean and comfortable bed. I wholeheartedly recommend it if you are in the area.

    Matthias2017-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • Susan and Richard made us feel really welcome, they are very warm and caring hosts they allow you access into their kitchen and really embrace getting to know you. The cottage is very pretty, immaculate and we had everything that we needed for an extremely comfortable stay. I would certainly stay here again and would have absolutely no doubts about recommending them.
