Just booked in Glover

The cabin is a great place to escape from it all! The custom made cedar hot tub is hot and ready all winter. Cold, snowy nights make for excellent tub time!! Inside the cabin is warm and has the comfort of home. Want to ski? Two ski resorts are 30 minutes from us.
Nestled in the hilled forest behind our home, the Vermont Tree Cabin (16' by 12', 190 sq ft) is a great, quiet place to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. While lounging on the deck or hot tub, you will be able to enjoy the calm and serenity of the outdoors, but still have the comfort of home in our authentic cabin lodging. Built in 2004, the cabin was temporally used as a home for our family while we built our house. The cabin has been completely renovated with custom tile shower, rustic hickory floors, knotty pine walls/ceiling, a kitchen area including a sink, small refrigerator, microwave, waffle maker, coffee maker, HD TV, DVD player with small selection of movies, good cell service (ATT & Verizon), 500 gallon custom cedar hot tub, Wireless internet, gas grill, rock fire-pit, picnic table and a 250 sq. ft. deck that is built into and around oak trees. One of our greatest amenities of the cabin is the custom built, white cedar hot tub. Maintained at 100- 104F degrees, the hot tub is ready for your use all year round, 24 hours a day; all you need to do is slide the cover off, relax and enjoy. While relaxing in the tub, be sure to enjoy watching the flames of a fire from the fire pit right off the deck. Our other amenities and services are as follows: Bedding – One full size memory foam bed and one single cot that can be included upon request. Food – Coffee, tea, waffle mix (make your own), Vermont maple syrup and instant hot cereal included Parking – private driveway and parking area for cabin guests. The cabin is completely insulated and heated, so we invite you to enjoy it any time of the year. Maid service - We do not provide turn down service or housekeeping in the cabin during your visit, but will make adjustments upon request. As we are located in the North East Kingdom of Vermont, the area offers many activities and events for your enjoyment. Our area is well known for some of our Ski Mountains and Resorts including Burke Mountain and Jay Peak. There are many other outdoor activities including boating and paddling, fishing, hiking, snowmobiling, etc. But don’t forget to check out some of Vermont’s well-known covered bridges, sugarhouses, breweries, and farms well. P.S. It’s great exercise walking from the parking area to the cabin. It’s only 150 feet away but a beautiful uphill stroll on a mix of well-lit paths and stairs.
  • Had a great time at the Tree Cabin! It was a great place to our 12th wedding anniversary. Very romantic setting. Sitting on the deck watching the sunset was awesome. We arrived a little later than expected and Andrew was very cool about it. It's a bit of a climb to the house so if you have a lot of luggage and are out of shape like me be warned! Well worth the climb though. We would love to go back sometime.

  • Our entire trip to the Vermont Tree Cabin was outstanding. Andrew was very responsive and helpful- especially because we booked it less than a week in advance. The cabin was in excellent condition upon arrival and all the details were thought of! There was extremely fast internet and TV, coffee and tea, as well as all the ingredients for delicious waffles. We more than recommend this location for a vacation!

  • We have been lucky enough to travel around the country and stay at lots of small, private accommodations. This was among the best. Clean, beautiful, and the deck/soaking tub were absolutely terrific. Also, speedy wi-fi and a great shower. Andrew was fantastic and accommodating ... he was willing to work with us when our flights were delayed, and took care of little things without complaint or delay -- the smoke detector in the unit went wonky our first night, but Andrew had a new one in place by mid-afternoon. If all AirBnB places were as good as this one, the world would be a better place! Looking forward to Andrew's new treehouse project, which I bet will be even better.

  • Our stay here was unforgettable! After a long day of skiing, coming back to the cabin to a hot tub nestled in the snowy woods was straight out of the most relaxing, picturesque dream. Waking up to warm apple waffles - the ingredients of which Andrew and Marilou were generous to provide - was also heavenly. We already can't wait to come back soon!

    Dina2015-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Had the loveliest time at the Vermont Tree House. We would recommend this spot to anyone, and hope to visit Andrew and Marilou in their new location. Andrew was extremely helpful and easy to talk with, and the cabin was even better than the pictures suggest! Thank you and we can't wait to return soon!

    Cody2015-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • As expected based on our last visit to the tree cabin, it was an amazing stay! The place is so cozy, clean and inviting and the hot tub is delicious after a long day in the snow. Andrew and Marylou pay attention to the details, making sure all the fixens are there for a wonderful waffle breakfast, as well as having all the amenities that you could need for relaxing stay. We love staying there and highly recommend it to anyone!

  • The Tree Cabin was so cozy! It snowed the night before we arrived leaving us in a perfect winter wonderland. Marilou, Andrew, and their precious dog Wally greeted us upon arrival and showed us around the cabin. Everything was immaculately clean and the tiny little cabin had everything we needed. Besides the delicious waffle mixes Marilou and Andrew had set out, we also cooked ourselves a delicious dinner using the hot plate provided (we would've loved to grill, but Vermont is pretty chilly in the winter...). The hot tub was hands-down the most magnificent part of our stay, letting us enjoy the nature and the snow while immersing ourselves in a hot little paradise.

    Jenna2014-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • This exceeded expectations that I had. Pictures do not do this cozy cabin justice, just as the description of how tasty those home-made waffles are! The area is absolutely beautiful, providing a serene, perfect getaway. Mt. Pisgah and Lake Willoughby are only a short drive away and are not to be missed, the best views I've ever seen.

We’re offering a comfortable, pet and kid-friendly, A-frame log cabin surrounded by 30 acres of pristine Appalachian woodland to explore and hike. We also have a 6 acre front yard complete with a 1 acre pond you are welcome to fish and relax by. After a long day enjoying all the rustic beauty and small town charm that Vermont has to offer, you can warm yourself by our pellet stove which heats both floors of our over 1,600 sq ft 4 bedroom, 2 full baths home (sleeps 8).
We have a ramp leading up to the house for easy access. We also have a crib, a high chair, and child gates for the second floor staircase if necessary. Small and large dogs are permitted. Wifi and HD TV with access to Hulu and Netflix are provided. In the mudroom/laundry room, you'll find a washer and dryer as well as heated floors, chairs, coat hooks, and boot racks to unload your winter gear on. During your stay, you will have access to a fully equipped kitchen with a stove and refrigerator, but you can also try out the various restaurants located in the area.
Located in the heart of the Northeast Kingdom in between the towns of Craftsbury, Saint Johnsbury, and Newport (and just 25 miles from the Canadian border!), our home is settled in the quaint and quiet town of Glover – named after American Revolutionary war hero Brigadier General John Glover and now home to the famed Bread and Puppet Theatre of New England.
  • A very well kept, large home which is ideal for those with children, dogs or other people which require lots of space. Thomas clearly cares very much for the home. There was everything we needed and nothing we didn't. He left a few refreshments out for our arrival. He also supplied a very thorough and easy to read manual which was helpful. Communication was easy and straightforward. House rules were also very straightforward and reasonable. The house is on a dead end dirt road with only a few homes on it so traffic is minimal which is also important if you have children or dogs walking off leash. It is also within minutes of the highway so you are never far away from anything. Lovely home, great host, amazing weekend. Thank you Thomas

    Victoria2017-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here for two nights and we are extremely satisfied. The host was really helpful and friendly. When our car couldn't make it up the mountain to the house because of the recent snow storm, Thomas drove us up and down in his truck, for which we are thankful. We got many great local tips from Thomas. The house was incredible. Perfect house and everything was very clean and tidy.

    Eugene2017-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • wondeful stay here! The host really goes above and beyond to make the stay really easy and comfortable. In the winter an all wheel drive is a must!

    Jill2018-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place to stay.. Tom is very helpful. Value for money.

    Neeraj2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Our family had a great stay here. Thomas was quick with his responses and very helpful. We ventured to the Northeast Kingdom to explore the area more- mountain biking in Burke and exploring Newport. We have three young children (9, 7, 5) and they loved the house and surrounding yard and pond. They could have easily spent the entire time there- the play structure was perfect and the pond was a constant source of entertainment- including the kayak. The house was very comfortable- everything we needed. Thomas was thoughtful with some VT gifts left out for us to enjoy and he had a very easy to use and resourceful binder with everything we needed to make our stay a great one- fantastic kid movie selection! The pellet stove made the place even cozier and there was plenty of room for everyone to sleep. Families with small children would find what they need- high chair, crib, even gates to set up. The house had a beautiful wrap around deck with comfortable furniture and the view was just lovely- especially now in the fall. We could easily enjoy more time there. We highly recommend!!

    Anja2017-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • My friends and I spent the weekend up here for one last trip together before winter break, and this was a great place we found. The house was the perfect size for the 8 of us, but several more could also stay here if needed, as plenty of sleeping space and dishes are provided. We loved exploring the front yard/pond, with the island playground also providing enjoyment for us college kids. Although secluded, the house is nevertheless located close enough to town for a quick trip, as well as being close enough to the interstate for easy access to more of northern Vermont. I went hiking at Mt. Pisgah, which took only 25 minutes to travel to from the cabin, with other hiking trails being even closer, not to mention the possibility of exploring Thomas' property itself. At least for this time of year (early December), the road up to the cabin seemed a bit slippery, but nothing a 4WD car couldn't handle (or a school bus, for that matter). This was my second time ever using Airbnb, so I don't have many experiences to go on, but I do think Thomas has done very well in establishing a great place for groups of people to stay and explore Vermont.

    Matthew2017-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at the Secluded Cabin for a weekend in early November. We were in the area specifically to visit friends, so I can't attest to area attractions, other than the town/area itself is beautiful. The house was perfect for us and absolutely loved by my kids. VERY kid friendly (bunk beds!) with great outdoor space to run and play. We were so happy we stayed here with our kids over other, what looked to be similar, properties. The hosts provided some welcoming touches and a ton of local information that was very helpful. Communication with the host was fast and check-in could not have been easier; house rules were very reasonable and easy to follow. The entire experience was awesome and I would highly recommend this home.

Bright, airy, private one bedroom apartment in our 1840's farmhouse. Surrounded by craft breweries, farm to table food, cross country & downhill skiing, lakes & mountains, miles of dirt roads, beautiful views -- and only 5 minutes from I-91 and a 5 minute walk to Parker Pie.
Relax into the comfort and convenience of your own private apartment. You'll have a large, airy, light-filled great room with living, dining, and kitchen areas, a cozy bedroom with a queen sized bed, and a spacious bathroom with tub and shower. The kitchen is well-equipped with a Keurig coffee maker (and a French press if you prefer to bring your own special grind), dishes, pots & pans, utensils, a microwave, and toaster. We supply a selection of K-cups, cream and sugar, and a few basic spices. The lodge is spacious for a couple, but will comfortably accommodate four people. In addition to the bedroom, there is a pull out sofa in the great room and an air bed if needed. Our house is a typical Vermont farm house (1840's) and has a stable attached to the house. We have 35 acres which includes horse pastures and lower woods and wetlands that are fun for aimless, meditative walks. We also have a dog and two cats. Although the opportunities to explore the rich cultural and recreational offerings of our area are almost endless, many of our guest seem to enjoy simply being in the lodge. It is a very pleasant space, no matter the season or weather, to escape, relax, and rejuvenate.
The Northeast Kingdom of Vermont has become a destination for people interested in world class craft beers, ciders, and spirits, artisan cheeses, and a vibrant local food scene. We are within half an hour of Hill Farmstead Brewery, Jasper Hill Cheese, Craftsbury Outdoor Center and numerous lakes and hiking and biking trails. Bread & Puppet is just down the road in Glover. Burke and Jay Peak ski areas are an easy 45 minute drive. From our house you can walk or bike to Parker Pie for great Pizza and beer. Lake Parker is a five minute drive and has a public boat access. Bring your bicycles, and you could spend a weekend exploring the miles of beautiful dirt roads that connect West Glover, Irasburg, Albany, Craftsbury, and Greensboro.
  • Brian and Anne were prompt to return our requests. Brian was a very welcoming host. The place is brand new, clean and quite spacious. We plan to visit again!

  • Staying at Blackberry Hill was a pleasure, everything was beyond our expectations. Cannot recommend highly enough!

    Justin2015-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • We made a reservation at The Lodge at Blackberry Hill at the last minute, a couple of nights before our arrival. Our family was heading to Quebec City for Christmas and it was the perfect stop along the way. Anne and Brian were very welcoming. Their inn is beautiful and has everything you need for a relaxing stay in the Northeast Kingdom. The view out the windows of their farmhouse are wonderful and just down the road is an awesome farm-to-table restaurant, The Parker Pie Company. We definitely hope to stay there again!

    Karen2015-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • Anne & Brian's place was perfect!! I wish we could have stayed longer, it was such a relaxing and beautiful place. I would definitely stay there again.

  • The Lodge is really great. Really clean and nicely appointed. Anne and Brian are very friendly and inviting. Location is great too, easy to get to highway and to everything Northern Kingdom has to offer. We definitely recommend the Lodge and are going to use it again in the future.

    Vlad2016-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • The place was absolutely gorgeous and really clean when we arrived. Secluded from the rest of the house for privacy and everything you could ask for inside. I wish we spent more time at the house relaxing.

This is a quirky old house without a single straight door, wall or window but its light, bright and comfortable with great views. We've furnished our "Little Crooked House" with care and for comfort and we hope you love it as much as we do! ❤
This is a great place to enjoy and explore the Northeast Kingdom year round. Easy to find just outside of the village of Barton, south on Route 5 and about a mile from the I91 (exit 25) We have tried to be environmentally and socially responsible in making our "Little Crooked House" a home; trying to re-use, recycle, up-cycle and repurpose wherever possible. We try to avoid "big box" stores and play our part in supporting the area's micro-economy by buying local and using local services and trades people. USEFUL AND INTERESTING STUFF The property is elevated from the road and accessed from a driveway shared by our neighbor. There is enough space to comfortably park two to three vehicles dependant on the size of vehicle (although we've found that parking a large vehicle dirctly in line with the kitchen window interferes with the Wifi signal; (a quirk of our little crooked house, I'm afraid!) Once on the driveway access to the house is fairly level and should be pretty wheel friendly for wheelchairs and buggies etc with all amenities on the ground floor. Please ask before booking if you have any concerns about this. The house was built around 1875, not much more than a century after the famous Roger's Rangers found refuge and sustinance on the banks of Crystal Lake. Like it's setting, some of the fixtures in the house seem to be out of a history book and some are more "shabby" than "chic", but we love it the way it is! ❤ The kitchen has a gas stove, refrigerator, kettle, coffee maker, toaster and most of the pots, pans and dishes you should need (however please note, there's no microwave) Two of the bedrooms are off the living room, one facing the lake and one facing the wooded rear of the house. There are two further bedrooms on the first floor that are available on request. The living room overlooks the lake and has a sofa and two comfortable armchairs to relax in. I'm sure you'll have lots more interesting things to do than watch TV but there's a flat screen with Netflix & Hulu etc and a dvd player should you wish to use them. TV comes via the Internet and whilst reception is generally good, weather conditions can sometimes disrupt the signal so worth considering bringing your own favourite dvds in case of rainy days! We have a small collection also (hidden away in the ottoman trunk) but they may not be to your individual taste. There are mountain bikes, fishing rods and golf clubs available; please let us know if you would like to use them.
The Northeast Kingdom is not only beautiful but full of interesting people, art, culture and history everywhere and an abundance of outdoor activities to enjoy year round. Enjoy fresh water swimming, biking, hiking, skiing and fishing. Barton is a small town full of people going about their daily business. It has the usual facilities including banks, a post office, a hardware store, a well stocked supermarket, a gas station, a library and a church for almost every day of the week! Barton Village Treasures is one place I can't pass without visiting and rarely leave without buying something! Year round "Parson's Corner" serves breakfast and lunches (except Tuesdays when its closed); try Dave's pancakes with Monroe's Maple Syrup (be sure to take some home, it's the best in the State!). But for a truly unique summer dining experience "The Copper Plate" at River's Edge Farm Stand (by I-91 intersection) is not to be missed! Eddie is a whirlwind and serves the most delicious lobster rolls this side of Portland Maine! In the summer Crystal Lake State Beach, across from the Little Crooked House, is busy with families enjoying the sun, the sand and fresh water swimming. For a few dollars visitors can take a car into the beach area and use the amenities of the park including showers, toilets and barbeques; you can also hire kayaks. There's a lively saloon a few hundred yards down the street and I'd highly recommend going to the "open mic" sessions on Wednesday evenings when some exceptionally talented musicians get together and play just for kicks! Parker Pie in West Glover is seriously the best place around by miles for pizza and micro brewed beers; they serve until around 9pm most nights There are also regular music, quiz and specials nights; these change dependant on the season, so worth checking their website for up-to-date information. The Carriage House in Orleans is a beautiful building, recently restored and opened as a Café and Grill; it's a lovely place to go for brunch and early evening meals. Village Pizza on the outskirts of Orleans, on Route 5, serves great food and has two separate areas, one of which is suitable for families with children (includes a games arcade) If you're willing to travel a little further, The Tap Room in St Johnsbury is worth the trip for atmosphere and a great selection of wines, craft beers and organic, homemade food.
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Joanne's funky old house The location is perfect, with a beautiful view of a lake and spectacular fall foliage. The bed was comfortable, and Moira, the neighbor, made sure we had everything we needed

  • Joanne and Colleen were both great to work with. This is a nice little spot.

    Lalania2017-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Literally this house is "little crooked" and no straight walls or floor :) When we group of families entered the house, we found it little strange and different. But after some time we got used to that and it became the fun part of our discussion. The host was accurate about her listing and it was comfortable stay for everyone. The communication with the host was nice and she was responding quickly for all our questions. She tried her best to arrange everything we requested and accommodated one extra guest at the last minute... Overall a different and nice experience...

    Thiyagarajan2017-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • Just as the pictures and description is. Quaint home in a small town. Colleen was very helpful giving suggestions on where to eat, as well as checking in daily to make sure all was running smoothly. Upstairs is very cold in the winter so be sure to bundle up. Good family vacation spot if you don’t mind an older home with quirks. House was equipped with blankets/towels and plenty of kitchen items (dishes, pots/pans etc)

  • Page had a fantastic home - with style and utility. She was easy to work with and highly accommodating, including a last minute change in scheduling. The nearby restaurants, bakery and grocery store were conveniently located and high quality! Skiing at Jay Peak was a 45 min drive away and provided a fantastic weekend. Page is delightful to work with and her home is beautiful, I highly recommend staying at her home.

    Nathan2014-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I were on our honeymoon, and the place we were scheduled to stay for two nights had been abruptly cancelled. Page was wonderful at taking us in at the last minute. She had forewarned us that the previous renters had just left and she wasn't sure if she could get a cleaning crew in on such short notice, but we gratefully accepted the place as-is. So when we arrived the next day (8pm), the house was fairly clean (save the beds others had slept on in the previous stay), the kitchen was darling, and our bed was comfortable; and judging by the home improvements and the paint job, Page has great taste. :) The neighborhood? It's the smallest of small-town America. Definitely its own culture, and not without its charms. The next morning, we stopped at the Busy Bee Diner, which is two barstools from being someone's home kitchen; but the staff was friendly and we had an entertaining chat with the locals. We also went to the general store next door, a delightful haven for local goods and all things taxidermy. Everyone raved about the Bread and Puppet Theater in town, but we opted instead to drive 30 minutes to hit Dog Mountain, a super-adorable place for animal lovers. So, this is a three-star review, and here's why: we decided to leave our reservation a day early. It wasn't about the house's cleanliness, and it wasn't necessarily about the town. (It just wasn't our thing, which we wouldn't have known unless we went.) I had a few concerns about safety issues, namely that there wasn't a key to the house (prior guests lost it), and that people had stolen the TV and Internet (Page reports she's in the process of replacing them and suspects who took them). I had to ask Page specific questions about these aspects in order for her to tell me, including a text upon our arrival, essentially saying, "I think your photos show a TV, but...there isn't one here? Just making sure you already knew this..." I'm pretty forgetful, especially under stress (missing keys/stolen goods/last-minute renters are all stressful); that said, I wish we had known about these things ahead of time. (I've lived in cities my whole life. I don't do unlocked doors.) Also, the house wasn't exactly what we thought it would be -- most of it has been renovated, but a little more rustic than we had anticipated. We straightened up, sent Page a message with our plan to leave, and buggered off. TL;DR: Page was nice, accommodating, and responsive. The house was adorable but utilitarian. Glover is has its charm but wasn't our thing. 3 stars for circumstances, but overall not a bad place to be.

  • Cute, small, rustic cabin. We had dinner at the recommended Parker Pie, and it was delicious. It got quite chilly (right around freezing) the night of our stay, and the heater in the cabin didn't quite keep up. The upstairs loft bed was warm, but the downstairs didn't get above 60, and was 55 when we woke up. The views of the lake are spectacular though, even if it was too chilly to spend much time by the water.

  • Greg's cottage was perfect! We loved the rustic feel and beautiful view of the lake. It was so much fun to take the boat and kayaks out in the morning. Highly recommended!

  • Greg was very timely and helpful in his messages to me which helped us to make final plans for our trip to the Lake. The cottage was clean and welcoming and right across the road from Shadow Lake. This cottage is perfect for a couple or a small family. My six month old son loved crawling around the living room floor, and my 5 year old daughter loved playing by the water and in the yard. The neighborhood was quiet and the cottage is very close to the public small sandy beach. The kitchen was fairly well equipped, there were plenty of towels and both beds were very comfortable. A sweet little getaway on Shadow Lake!

  • Such a beautiful view and all together cozy time!

  • Gregs place is perfect for a relaxing get away. The place is quiet, cozy and clean. The lake and a little pier is right across the street. Me and my boyfriend would come back anytime.

  • I think we exchanged all of two words with the host upon our arrival. While this place is just fine for adults, we were traveling with two small kids, who because of the tiny space kept each other up way past their bedtime. That meant we didn't get much sleep making the following day's drive even more difficult. While the cottage is new it does need some finishing touches. For instance there was a box fan for us to use which was definitely needed on the hot day we were there but there were no outlets in the bedrooms so we could only use it in the living room. On the plus side, we appreciated the availability of the kayaks. Overall I'm surprised at the cost per night given that our next Airbnb stay cost us the same but was a duplex with two full bedrooms and air conditioning. I would not recommend it for anyone traveling with kids but definitely ok for adults.

  • Very nice stay, small cabin but cosy and nice, the picture does does it speak enough for themselves because the view is WONDERFUL. It is clean, quite, ideal for relaxing family time, if I knew I would have booked more days ! Greg is very responsive and helping when needed.

A Farmhouse all to yourself in West Glover! The Farmhouse is set on a very quiet and picturesque country road. Set between the Main House and Andersonville Farm in the beautiful Northeast Kingdom of Vermont.
The Farmhouse in Andersonville is part of Ledgenear Farm. The farmhouse was built in the 1800's, but has been updated to modern comforts. It sits between Ledgenear's main house and Andersonville Farm where cows are raised and milked to make world class cheese.
Andersonville is small enclave of the beautiful Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. It sits at the corner of Glover, Albany, Craftsbury and Greensboro. So we are close to many beautiful lakes: Lake Parker, Shadow Lake, Caspian Lake, and Crystal Lake a few min. away. Parker Pie is our local eatery and pub. And not too far away is Hillstead Farm Brewery. Pete's Greens organic vegetable stand farm is close by. Local Meet and Eegs are readily available as well.
  • We had a lovely time at this farmhouse. We had all the modern amenities we could want (TV, landline, laundry etc), tons of space, and a beautiful view. James and Nella were always accessible to tell us about the area and suggest things to do. We got to explore the farm/check out the animals and lots of other cool stuff. The dirt roads around here are made for casual bikers, although the hills were a workout! We also went biking nearby in Craftsbury, checked out the Orleans County Fair, and the Bread and Puppet Museum. I will always remember this visit fondly! Thanks James and Nella!

  • We felt welcome as soon as we got there. The house was easy to find and so beautiful. The perfect Vermont experience!

    Donna2016-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • This place is incredible. The Northeast Kingdom of Vermont is aptly named. It is a place of supreme natural beauty and the landscape is dotted with many magnificent early farmhouses and simple villages. The color of the changing maple trees was amazing set against the deep green fields of hay. The home was clean and uncluttered, enhancing the effect of the architectural beauty of a mid-1800's farmhouse. James and Nella were very welcoming, helpful, and hospitable. They were gracious to allow my family and I the ability and freedom to experience their working farm of dairy cattle, beef cattle, horses, and alpacas. I cannot recommend this place enough for those seeking a truly original experience and inspiration from beautiful people, nature, and architecture.

  • Absolutely rent this super clean & crispy little Vermont Farmhouse--its PERFECT! What a terrific property! We had a very expeditious trip and the house helped us to pack in maximum relaxation with its excellent public spaces & perfectly cozy bedrooms. All of the linens are LLBean, which are both nice in theory and in practice. The kitchen does the trick. Bathrooms were cute. We went to all of our favorite places--everything ended up being >20 minutes away--ate all of the Vermont-y goodness that we love. Watching the cows around the yard was pretty darn cute. The AppLETV was nice. Thank you for the maple syrup. We will definitely rent again and will pass it along to our friends!!

  • We LOVED staying at the Farmhouse! Had a terrific time! Thank you so much for the beautiful and peaceful setting-- it was everything (and more!) that we expected. The kitchen was perfect for our cooking needs; LOVED having the big bathtub right off of the kitchen...kept the kids entertained with wonderful bubble baths! :) There are too many wonderful memories, but must admit that going to the barn and visiting the cows was a real hi-light! Thank you for being so open and accommodating! Blessings, Tish and Family

  • James and Nella's farmhouse was perfect! It was peaceful and clean and made for the perfect fall trip to see the changing leaves. We enjoyed the gorgeous views from the farmhouse and a late night halloween movie on their netflix. Would definitely recommend this place for anyone that wants to have a peaceful trip enjoying Vermont. Thanks for everything!

  • Kristen encouraged my husband and I to feel totally welcome in her lovely house while she was away and we did. The spot is totally enchanting. We spent most of our time sitting on the dock looking out at the lake. We saw eagles and osprey catching fish and caught sight of and heard the loons, which make a haunting sound at night. We had a great time taking Kristen's canoe, which has oars, across the lake (though we should have taken an extra paddle so I could help my husband get us back home after the wind whipped up). We also enjoyed the firepit one of the nights we were there. The beds were comfy and we got several good night's sleep. The AT&T phone coverage was spotty but the wifi worked fine for us to get online and get our email. We will definitely return if we have a chance!

Ultimately what that equates to is: A GOOD time!!!
  • Very nice family friendly country home.

  • Three friends and I loved this house and location. We only stayed for one night, but Ryan is a friendly host! We talked about wanting to come back to the space with more people. If you're looking for a real country experience, this is a great spot.

  • My friends and I had an awesome stay at Ryan's cabin! We were able to have fun without worrying about any neighbors, and were all able to relax for a nice weekend. It is about 40 minutes away from Jay Peak, so it was nice for us skiiers to be so close! All in all, a great time.

  • Ryan's house was absolutely amazing! It was everything we wanted and more! The secluded location is great for large groups and kids. The pond is a blast to play around in and the cows were a big hit for our group. The scenery is absolutely stunning and Ryan and his family could not be friendlier. He was always available to help us have a great time. The house was fully stocked with anything we needed, and Ryan was always there to help us out if we were missing something. The area is very secluded, so cell phones didn't really work but that made the trip so much better. Our group was able to focus on growing relationships with each other rather than staying connected with those back home. Some of us didn't even want to turn our phones back on. If you are looking for a wonderful and relaxing time contact Ryan. He will hook you up!

  • Fantastic place. Gorgeous surroundings. Go there, enjoy the scenery, drink some good beer, eat some great cheese, take long walks, and come home refreshed. Ryan is a great guy and everyone in town knows him and respects him. Highly recommended!

  • 10 friends and I came up for a 4-day bachelor party weekend. This place is amazing! So much land and an amazing view out of the front yard. Ryan and his family were extremely helpful all weekend long. We had big fires in the fire pit, and the next day the family would drop off a fresh full trailer of wood for us to do it again. There was plenty of space for everyone to sleep comfortably, and as the listing says, we could be as loud as we wanted to. We had a great time, and we even made friends with the cows that came up to visit us a few times. This was a great experience and I'd love to bring my family back sometime!

  • I looked for a home in this area because I grew up visiting my grandfather every year as a child, and wanted to share the beauty of the mountains and the kindness of the people in the area with my two kids. We hiked Jay Peak, swam in Lake Willoughby, went to the Orleans "Barton" Fair, and even explored Canada. All with our dog Koda! In between our adventures, we were able to relax and enjoy Ryan's amazing house and property! Super clean house, fully stocked with everything you could need (even a crockpot), comfy beds, monster bonfire that was always stocked with fresh wood, and super clean spring-fed pond that could be seen from the relaxing deck on the back of the house. Ryan is the real deal of a genuine guy who truly wants his visitors to have a great time! He greeted us when we arrived, and was always there if we needed him. Our only regret was that we had to leave, but we are all looking forward to another visit as soon as we can!

  • A beautiful cabin. Wonderful views and the layout is great for a group of people. Many nice touches. Toby is an outstanding host - very communicative and responsive. He even provided a list of local places to shop and eat. A tremendous value.

  • Absolutely beautiful cabin in the Northeast Kingdom. We were there for three days during a snow storm with temps in the single digits, cabin was exceptionally comfortable. We didn't even need to fire up the wood stove. Tobias recommended Parker Pie nearby in West Glover, it was so good we visited twice for food and beers. Nice and remote, the perfect getaway. Tobias was always available for questions and communication was A+. Close to Kingdom Trails, ski areas, and lakes. 10 out of 10!

  • My stay at Clayton View was better than I’d even hoped for. If you’re looking for a relaxing and adventurous mountain getaway, while still maintaining clean, modern amenities, this is absolutely the place to go. The home is full of life with so many great little touches: from the art covering the walls to a speaker hookup to play your music from the second floor, which looks out upon a stunning window and view of the mountains. Toby was a very attentive, friendly host who clearly put the time and thought into making this a welcoming and beautiful home. I went to a lot of different places, but you could just as easily stay and chill in this beautiful space. This would be an awesome spot for a big group of family and friends, with 3 great bedrooms and 2 clean, spacious bathrooms. I highly recommend visiting Newport and Lake Willoughby. And if you’re up to a challenging hike up Mount Pisgah, I went up the North Trail and the summit had a breathtaking view of Lake Willoughby and surrounding mountain ranges. I visited here on a whim not knowing quite what to expect, and I’m so glad I did. I can’t wait to visit again and was so sad to leave. It was snowing when I left and I’m so jealous of anyone coming here when it’s a full winter wonderland! This was an adventure I’m so glad I took.

  • Tobias' place is incredible. A beautiful secluded area that's close enough to town yet offers perfect solitude. The cottage is absolutely gorgeous and redefines a peaceful setting. Toby was a phenomenal host. Extremely inviting and had brochures and tips a plenty waiting for us, as well as breakfast items and towels laid out in each bathroom! If you need to get away and experience absolute mountain view serenity then this place is for you!

Nancy accommodated our schedule with breakfast and they were delicious! Beautiful, peaceful surroundings in the country.

  • Nancy and Jim are lovely people and the breakfast she made for us was delicious.

    Wendy2016-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very nice stay at the Rodgers B&B. It almost felt like staying at a relatives home, for example with the way Nancy did the wonderful breakfast and ate with the guests. Having dinner with Jim and Nancy and the other guests and passers by was also very nice. When we went for a walk around the house (3.5 miles) it started raining. Nancy noticed the rain and picked us up by car. We really appriciated this. The room was nice with a large bed and a clean bathroom. The area of the B&B is very nice in the rural North East Kingdom of Vermont.

    Jan-Willem2015-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Nancy made us both feel extremely welcome in her home. It was a beautiful BNB, and breakfast the next morning was great. Just make sure that if you are using your GPS to get there, put it on "fastest route." Ours was set to "shortest route," and it took us on about 20 miles of dirt roads. Not Nancy's fault though!!

    Luke2015-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • While the facility, location, etc. are important for any place one stays (and all were lovely here!) the host/hostess can be a very significant element of the stay. That was the case at Rodgers Country Inn. Jim and Nancy are uniquely and authentically good, welcoming, and gentle people. I had a rather vigorous schedule during my stay and was in and out at odd times. I never came back "home" or left in the morning without a natural, easy conversation of genuine interest about my activities, family, etc. and by the time I left, it felt like "home". Jim and Nancy's approach to hosting is my new benchmark against which to measure all others. Thank You!!!

  • Vermont at its best with a real country home and real Vermonters.

    deborah2017-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • This inn is located in one of the most beautiful northern Vermont spots we'd ever seen. Every window of this classic farmhouse looks out on pristine views, and night brought blissful silence. Jim and Nancy were warm and knowledgeable hosts. Their country homestead has been in Jim's family for generations, and it truly exudes a sense of homeyness and relaxation. Everything was immaculate. Downstairs were ample places to read, and if we'd had more time, we would have sat outside or taken a long country walk. This location is far enough afield to make you glad you have a GPS. Ours wasn't working, but Nancy's directions got us there without a hitch, and her fresh, locally-sourced breakfast was delicious.

    Diane2017-08-19T00:00:00Z

  • Really cool place and location in an antique farmhouse!! Stephen was very responsive and a great host. Loved our stay!!

    Molly2017-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great place with a very comfortable feel to it. More than enough space and a modern redone bathroom. We liked the solid wood benches mounted to the wall around the oversized table. My wife and myself are woods/farm people and this community is the same. There are tractors and loggers ect. driving around on the roadways so city folk be aware. Steve is great and we enjoyed chatting with him when we ran into each other on the porch.

    Jamie2017-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Was a perfect size for the 6 of us. The upstairs bedrooms both had 2 beds so you could fit even more. The sunflowers and general decor were a wonderful Vermont welcoming and enjoyed sitting outside in the front porch with the unexpected weather. Stephen was very welcoming and easy to communicate with.

    Erika2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Stephen's, it's a nice spotless place, with a lot of space, and a lovely garden. I didn't meet Stephen myself but my sister had a nice chat with him. We kept in touch by messages, and he was really helpful. I recommend this place !

    Alban2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Stephen was a wonderful and gracious host. He welcomed us to the farmhouse as if we were old friends. We had been traveling for a while, and Stephen’s place was the perfect retreat from being on the road. We got in later than expected with no solid plan for dinner, and Stephen kindly offered us fresh veggies from his farm along with pickled goodies so we could improvise a meal. They were delicious, and we were so grateful! We immediately felt right at home in the farmhouse. There was plenty of room for our family of 4 to relax and enjoy a peaceful evening. The farmhouse was very clean and charming. It was really cool to see all the work Stephen had done to the place himself—the reclaimed wood furniture and bedroom door were especially magnificent. We also had a great time hanging by the fire pit. Stephen even provided us with wood for the fire! Enjoying morning coffee on the porch while listening to the nearby babbling brook was also a highlight. All in all we had an absolutely lovely stay and feel like we made a friend in Stephen! We recommend the Orchard Farmhouse and commend Stephen for being such a great host!

    gray2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • This house is exactly what we were looking for. A getaway from city life and a chance for our kids to breathe fresh air, play in the beautiful, clear river across the street and see all of the stars in the sky at night, next to the bonfire. It is also very well situated and is not too far from anything, if you want or need it. Steve was a gracious host and made us feel very welcome and comfortable during our six night stay. Make sure you leave the plastic water bottles behind, because the mountain spring water from the tap was delicious. A nice place to unwind and see the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont.

    Catherine2015-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • It was a very nice house. Comfortable and gave the country side experience. Would love to stay there again if I visit Vermont again.

Lake Willoughby is very peaceful and relaxing. Jet skis and wave runners are not allowed and there are not many boats. The two bedrooms each have queen size beds and full closets as well as dressers for your stay. The bathroom has a large shower stall with grip bars and the laundry room is down the hall across from the bedroom. Our favorite room is the front porch that is totally screened in. You can have drinks or share a meal on the porch or just swing on the porch swing. The house has many gardens and guest are invited to cut flowers for their enjoyment.
The cottage is located on a small dirt road off the main road and is very private. There are 20 plus cottages around the pond. One section of the pond is not used for homes and there you can see a beaver hut, blue herons fishing, the loons and sometimes if you are lucky even our resident bald eagle. We have seen deer drinking from the pond at the edge of the woods and even had a couple of moose swim across the pond. Nature abounds.
  • This is a beautiful home in a lovely little community. The pond is excellent for swimming and kayaking, and Nickie and Francis are on hand to help out with anything you may need. I just wish we were able to spend more time here!

  • Quiet and lovely scenic view with hummers, phoebes, and loons. A beautiful home with gardens to complement. Perfect place for "down" time and family time.

  • Staying at "Memory Maker" is like stepping into a storybook experience. Nickie and Francis are lovely hosts - gracious, generous, and so easy to work with. We really feel like we've made true friends in them. The house is absolutely stunning and, frankly, it would be impossible to capture its true beauty and the peacefulness of the setting in just a few photos. The "pond" that the house is on is actually a beautiful lake by our standards and we and our kids made the most of it. There were kayaks, paddle boards (really repurposed windsurfers), and a wonderful float with a big slide that kept us all busy day after day. A lakeside fire pit was an enormous hit with the entire family and Nickie and Francis were kind enough to leave us wood and the fixings for s'mores when we first arrived. This was just a small example of the effort they put in to make our stay both relaxing and complete. The kitchen is ready for the inspired cook and the bedding experience is 5 star. The level of care in the home is as if your best friend invited you their lakefront home and turned over the keys. The home is decorated with Nickie's inspired paintings and the fact that this home is handmade by the owners is the reason that visitors feel at home. Overall, we can't be effusive enough with our praise and we can't wait to go back. This is airbnb at its dream best!

  • This stay at Nicole's and Francis place was fantastic. Our family weren't initially planning to hang out at the house as we were on vacation visiting old friends, but after being there and experiencing the tranquility of Daniels pond and having access to all the amenities (row boat, kayaks, firepit, pond, flippers etc) we decided to spend more time at home. It was a perfect getaway and Nicole and Francis were amazing hosts. They tried to accommodate us at every turn (offering fishing equipment, firewood, food supplies and any assistance we might need). These wonderful folks really made our stay an outstanding memory. I believe that their listing doesn't do the place justice, as it was more laid back, far nicer, cleaner, friendlier, and more fun than you get from the listing. Just do yourself a favor and book this place. ..you won't regret it. I am happy to say Nicole and Francis were once our rental hosts...now after only 3 days they are are friends. Thank you.

  • Memory Maker is the perfect Vermont getaway for both the indoor and outdoor family. Its lovely waterfront location and beautifully decorated house create the perfect setting for your vacation. For the water lover, there are kayaks, a rowboat, and a dock, as well as a rock ringed campfire site ready for s’mores and ghost stories. Some of us curled up on the screened in porch with a good book and looked out at the lake, sipping our morning coffee. Others took pictures of all the birds, bunnies, minks, and chipmunks. We ventured out onto the lake in kayaks. We ordered pizza from Parker Pie and enjoyed the wine, cheese, and crackers left by our host and hostess. Once you’ve stocked up at the local market, you can prepare anything in the kitchen. Nikki and Francis were happy to help with anything we needed. They are directly across the street, so we knew we were in good hands.

  • Thanks for the great week in Vermont! We enjoyed it!

    Alicia2017-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • This house is absolutely charming. It is well appointed and comfortable, with a fully stocked kitchen and lovely gardens. We enjoyed watching the pond from many different vantage points: the swing or rocking chair on the screened porch, the Adirondack chairs on the lawn, the dinning room table, and the bedrooms upstairs. We of course had fun swimming and kayaking in the pond too. Our hosts Nickie and Francis were very warm and helpful. On their recommendation, we took advantage of several activities nearby - golf, hiking, and blueberry picking - and we would recommend the Busy Bee diner for breakfast and lunch. This is the perfect place for rest and relaxation.

  • Krista communicated with me about availability of the house, and I felt that she was available by cellphone if I needed anything. The house is in a beautiful location, and has a good feeling, several comfortable couches, a great kitchen and lovely porch.

    Lesley2016-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed for one night. Krista promptly answered out texts with specific info needed. The house was as described, rustic and clean! We enjoyed accessing the lake. There are many places to hike nearby, which we found out from materials she had available for guests in the house. Our first airbnb experience and we were pleased.

    Sheila2016-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was perfect for our needs. We were happy with the cleanliness and ease of checking in and out. Great location, right by the lake. The kitchen is fully equipped for prepping meals which was nice! We will be back!

    Tina2017-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great place to stay near Crystal Lake. There's lots of room and it's a clean, uncluttered rental. There are two queen mattresses - one is soft and the other is very firm. The twin beds are firm with a comfortable top. The yard is lovely with a waterfall in the back and a grill available.

    Catherine2017-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • The host made sure everything was clean and ready for us to use. Many brochures and information were there for us to look through. Instructions were clear and easy to follow.

  • We Had the most amazing time staying here! We took full advantage of the beach, waterfalls and huge front porch when the rain was coming down. The kitchen came fully equipped with everything we needed to make delicious dinners and we even had full cellphone service. I strongly recommend staying here.

    Lexi lee2017-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • I’m glad our first AirBnB stay (EMAIL HIDDEN)munication with her was easy before and during the stay, the rules/expectations were clear, and the house was nicer than we expected. There were plenty of places to cozy into! We especially enjoyed the waterfall out back. I had a little trouble falling asleep during our one-night stay because Krista’s house has different noises than my own. Campground neighbors were pleasant. The lake was beautiful.

  • We really enjoyed our stay and meeting Mark and Karen. There was great attention to detail to make guests feel welcomed. The house was beautifully renovated. The room had a very comfortable bed, right next to a large bathroom. Karen, a culinary school graduate cooked a delicious breakfast of eggs and bacon from their own chickens and pigs with homemade bed, blueberry muffins, and donuts. Mark is a native and we enjoyed learning about the area from him. We really felt at home and would definitely stay there again.

    Sue2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • My first air B&B experience could not have been better. Mark & Karen are wonderful people who were warm, welcoming, have a beautiful house that is clean beyond clean, great space, comfortable beds, gorgeous setting. The breakfast was delicious with eggs from their chickens, home made blueberry muffins, home made sausage! They really made us feel at home and were very helpful with suggestions about what to do. I highly recommend this lovely place to stay.

    Jake2016-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • If you're looking for a home away from home, you should definitely visit Mark & Karen! Everything was perfect and surpass our expectations. The room is cosy, peaceful and super comfy and the house is gorgeous. Mark & Karen are wonderful hosts : we had interesting talks and - thanks to Karen - we woke up with an amazing smell of bacon! She served us an incredible homemade breakfast with eggs, pancakes, bacon, fruits and so much more. As I said : just perfect! Thanks for everything.

  • Wonderful B & B experience in a cozy Vermont house! Wonderful host couple that offer yummy snacks, coffee, and tea. We stayed in the maple room and thought it was very clean, cozy, and comfortable. We woke up to a beautiful sunset through our windows over the mountains. We also woke up to some of the best farmhouse breakfast! Great stay and looking forward to staying again in the future!

    Casey 2016-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • It was such a great experience with Mark and Karen in beautiful Vermont house. They welcomed us so warmly and made ourselves home. The house is newly remodeled and filled with beautiful furnitures. They served home-made donuts and apple crisp for snacks. And the breakfast-coffee, naturally made sausage and yogurt- was incredible. They know so much about the area and are so friendly and welcoming. I loved the room where I stayed and the bathroom with double sink was so clean and nice. I highly recommend this place for weekend getaway and vacation. I get refreshed after the visit and will go back to visit them. They have their own farms and you can even buy naturally grown beef and many other products that you can't get in the city.

    Sangmi2015-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Hosts were extremely friendly and welcoming. They really made the stay feel comfortable. Helpful in suggesting places to eat and visit. Very considerate of our needs and willing to make accommodations.

    Lea2016-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Mark and Karen were such great hosts. This was my second time staying at their place and it did not disappoint. The first time I was only able to stay one night but this time I made sure to stay at least a couple of times. The breakfast alone was worth the visit let alone the comfort of staying there and proximity to Hill Farmstead Brewery and Parker Pie Pizza. Next time I'd like to stay even longer and explore the surrounding area much more. Thank you Mark and Karen.

Located on a working farm in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont the Gypsy Wagon is tucked into the woods, off-grid, deeply serene, whimsical, primitive. Clean water provided (will need carried in for a winter stay). Outdoor private privy, battery operated lights, potbelly stove, and an outdoor fire ring. Reminder: no running water or electricity. Cell cover patchy. Winter guests should be the sort comfortable stoking fire and carrying water. Firewood, snow-shoes, coca and candles.
You will be the only ones in the woods in this wagon. It is spooky and delicious at night. Though there is no shower at the wagon we have indoor shower facilities close by available upon request. WiFI is only available in the nearby house. If you need a LAN line you are welcome to let us know before 9 pm unless it is urgent. The bed is comfy yet quite small, a bit smaller than a double. My husband and I enjoy the closeness but be prepared to cuddle. Sleeps 1 comfortably or 2 people who really like each other ;-). This is truly a tiny house, 7X14. If the temps are to fall below 10 degrees and you would like to cancel, we will be flexible on the cancellation policy.
You will be staying in a fabulous part of New England. Two of the finest General Stores around with organic, freshly prepared food. Many world renown cheese makers within minutes , craft brewers, and the Craftsbury Outdoor Center, home of year-round Olympic athletes and a place to get an amazing lunch (call for reservations) where there are also miles and miles of trails to ride, ski or walk, rent skis or a kayak to take on Hosmer Pond (don't be fooled, it is quite an extensive 'pond' and plenty of loons in residence). Also very near stunning Lake Caspian public beach and beloved Willey's Store. You are near the politically radical puppet theater, Bread and Puppet, The Museum of Everyday Life ("I make the museum to glorify the gleeful wish to be driving down the road and see some strange sign, and go in and find something wonderful" says curator/owner Clare Dolan), The Highland Center of the Arts, and Miller's Thumb Gallery. I imagine you will agree after a visit, there is no place like the Northeast Kingdom!!
  • I loved the place and was just what I was looking for but it is off the beaten path for anyone else looking to shop or to fine dine.

    Edward2017-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Gwen has a genuine sense of hospitality. She has thought of everything to make your stay comfortable. The Gypsy Wagon in the woods is magical. A beautiful spot in the North East Kingdom and close to Sterling College. The outhouse is beautiful and being able to shower in the main house was greatly appreciated.

    Carol2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time at the Gypsy Wagon, the space is super comfortable and super functional! Our only regret is only booking it for 2 nights instead of three :)

    Elise2017-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • The gypsy wagon is magical! We had a wonderful long weekend here and it was the perfect place to de-stress and get cozy. It is even sweeter than the photos. There was snow on the ground and it got down to 7 degrees, but the wood stove kept the cabin toasty. We were able to make some delicious dinners with food from town and the stove and utensils in the wagon. Larry and Gwen were great hosts - there if we needed them in the main house. We totally recommend this to enjoy the NEK and to get away from it all!

    Tanya2017-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! This was our first experience with Air B&B and I don't know how anything can live up to this experience. The gypsy wagon was like being transported to a different time and place. We felt completely secluded in our little spot in the woods but we were still close to an amazing brewery, suggested by our host, and local shops. The wagon was beautifully crafted and super cozy and while having no electricity or running water, we had everything we needed and we are very inexperienced when it comes to camping. Larry was such a gracious host, he gave us our privacy but was there to give us suggestions on great places to go too. Be sure to meet Ruby and Tinkerbell while you're there too! The scenery during fall was astounding. Add this to your bucket list, this place is an absolute must!

    Dani2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • These are perhaps the kindest folks you'd have the pleasure of meeting. The Gypsy Wagon is a magical little hideaway in the woods of beautiful Vermont. If you're anywhere near, or not, go. It offers everything you'd want in a pseudo-camping experience: quiet, privacy, nature. It's a pretty quick drive to Greensboro (about ten minutes), where there's the most charming, surprisingly large (from seeing just the outside), and well-stocked grocery/general store, Willies. Even though it doesn't have electricity, you'd hardly notice with the battery operated lights strategically placed. And the outhouse is seriously the most beautiful I've ever seen. Everything you need is provided for: water, wood, kitchenware, a very comfortable, quite cozy bed, a small wood-burning stove, Vermont travel books, wooded trails, and a gorgeous place that seems like a fairy tale.

    Erik2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • What a great experience this was! We'd been on the road for a while, and all we wanted was to escape and disappear for a few days. And that's exactly what we got here!! Highly recommended if you ever have the opportunity. You won't be sorry!

    Andrew2017-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • The gypsy house was everything I hoped it would be. Clean, quiet, and secluded, it was the perfect spot for a getaway. Gwen and Larry were great hosts, and I appreciated their accommodation of a later-than-expected arrival, as well as all of their help and hospitality when I arrived. Hope to be back!

  • We had a lovely stay at Moira's lakeside house! Perfect place to crash after a long day mountain biking at Kingdom Trails. Also did a great hike up Mount Pigsah and jumped of Devil's Rock on Lake Willoughby. So much to do in this wonderful part of Vermont.

    Molly2016-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely old Vermont home on Crystal Lake. I could hear the sound of the waves lapping the shore at night. Moira is a gracious host and had coffee and muffins waiting in the morning. The area is absolutely beautiful and peaceful. Easy access to Lake Willoughby.

  • It was a great to meet Colleen. We reached late and she was not at home. But she has left clear instructions on what to do where to go. She has also kept muffins for us which was very sweet of her. The room was beautiful. This was painted by her grand kids and we loved the wall paintings. A very nice location. When you wake up in the morning, you can enjoy the view of beautiful lake.

    Siba2014-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Moira was a great host. She was very attentive of our needs and had lots of good recommendations and options of things to do around the area. The house is nice, exactly across the street from the lake with a great view!! The only thing I didn't like is that the bathroom door doesn't close.

    Sol2016-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Moira (Colleen) is a very present host who offers an almost private bedroom in her vintage lakeside home. She is very friendly and interested in her guests.

    George2017-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • We have felt very welcomed at our host place. We had a tea and a great discussion until late at night :). We also had a good sleep and we were ready to go to our next trip to Mount Washington. We have been advised to go to Willoughby lake on our way to Mount Washington which was a great suggestion.

    Nathalie2014-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Coleen was a very warm, sweet, and welcoming host. She was an absolute pleasure to talk to and the accommodation itself was charming and had a lovely view.

    Lynn2014-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Moira aka Colleen is a lovely and kind host. She was very helpful and we had everything we needed during our stay. The view of the reservoir from her front porch is delightful and her home was quite comfortable. Lake Willoughby is close as well and we LOVED the 1.4 mile hike from the south beach, which was recommended by Colleen. This area might be one of the most beautiful destination spots in Vermont!

Relax and unwind here in Craftsbury! From our lovely home in this beautiful little hamlet, step out the door to outstanding biking, hiking, and cross country skiing. With outstanding craft beer, spirits, cheese and local food all a stone's throw away, this home is the perfect getaway for families or groups visiting the area for events or exploration.
Our home has 2 lovely queen bedrooms downstairs. Upstairs two lofts create two more sleeping spaces. The big loft has two double beds. The smaller loft serves as the TV room (w/ Roku 40” TV Wi-Fi and antenna for watching shows and Netflix etc) and the two couches fold down into two single beds.. The living area is spacious, with plenty of room for everyone. The kitchen is well equipped and complete with gas stove, double oven, and dishwasher and the dining table seats 10-12. A fenced yard w/ patio, fire-pit and gas/charcoal grill offers privacy and an additional space to relax and unwind. This well-equipped, comfortable home is perfect for families or groups visiting our beautiful region.
We have THREE great little local stores nearby where you can find just about anything you'll need from local meat, organic local veggies, great breads, prepared foods, great wines and craft beers to hardware, clothing and gifts. Our home is adjacent to groomed cross country trails that wind all through Craftsbury and Greensboro. Ski from your door to the Highland Lodge or to the Craftsbury Outdoor Center (world class ski touring center).
  • This is an excellent accommodation in East Craftsbury, a village dotted with older barns, homes, a library and a church. We were three adults and two teenagers and we fit easily into the space. The main living area is open and bright, with a high beamed ceiling. The entry was large with lots of hooks and room for boots and shoes. This was great because we were there to bike and ski at the Craftsbury Outdoor Center, so we had lots of coat, hats, gloves and boots that needed a place to dry. Another plus was the parking right next to the entryway, which is on the side of the cottage. It allowed us to move our gear in and out quickly and easily. In the open space, there is nice sectional sofa and chairs which made for a cozy area, within the open space, to hang out. Finally, the downstairs bathroom was spacious, bedding and beds were very comfortable and the kitchen, set in the middle of the living area, was perfect. If you want to very comfortably experience quintessential Vermont, this is the place.

  • We reserved it at the last minute. They make us feel very welcome. It was a beautiful place and the house had a very nice charm. Stephanie show us the garden where they grew vegetables that you can take. Mark also brought a goat so that our 3 year son could interact with him and have some farm and nature experience. Both Mark and Stephanie are very nice persons and fantastic hosts.

    Christian2015-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Marc and Stephanie were great hosts! Upon arrival Stephanie provided a tour of the property and where we could find things. They were available to answer any questions we had throughout our stay. We had a great first night where we shared a meal and had very interesting conversation. As mentioned in their listing, there were some goodies in the garden for us to eat/cook with! It was a great stay and glad to have left with two new friends. Hope to be back in the future and highly recommend.

  • A wonderful old farm guesthouse for a great stay. Marc and Stephanie were very easy to communicate with and very good hosts. The kids especially loved the animals and gardens which Marc and Stephanie were kind enough to present to them. We are big fans of the North East Kingdom and with hidden ponds + Bread & Puppet just down the road, we certainly hope to stay here again.

    Paul2015-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Stephanie and Marc are kind and generous hosts. They have an amazing guest house on a beautiful farm with two donkeys, five sheep and a bunch of geese, and a specular view of the mountains from the Great Room. The house is spacious, clean and well equipped. We were a family of three but the house can easily accommodate more. There is plenty to do in the area....we hiked Wheeler Trail near Lake Willoughby and rented kayaks from Clyde's but we also enjoyed just relaxing in the guest house. The view from upstairs provides endless entertainment. Our 11 year-old daughter was sad to leave. Highly recommended!

  • We had a great stay at Mount Harmony Farm. We were looking for a quiet, peaceful 3-day weekend and this place was exactly right. We highly recommend this quest house to anyone looking for a nice country get-away. There are a number of interesting places in the area to visit. Marc and Steff were gracious hosts and we will definitely look to stay here again next time we're in the area.

    Kenneth2016-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at Mt. Harmony so much last summer that we decided to come back for another long weekend! Our toddler enjoyed talking to all the animals, and watching the "baa baa sheep" from the large window. Oh, that window! There's also plenty to do outside the farm, too. We visited Hills Farmstead (for all you lovers of good VT beer) again, hung out at Lake Willoughby, and stayed at Dog Mountain for as long as we could in St. Johnsberry. We also walked a short way to the "Sanctuary". You'll have to ask Marc and Stephanie about that place. It's just lovely. Marc and Stephanie are wonderful hosts! We look forward to coming back.

    Courtney2016-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • Marc and Stephanie's home was a perfect getaway for us. The place is so cozy and well-appointed for all that you'll need while staying. The location is serene; and, as others have mentioned, the picture window has a gorgeous view perfect for sitting by with a coffee or beer. Location was great with skiing 30 minutes away. We loved our stay and hope to come back and see the property in the warmer months.

  • The views on Philip's land are beautiful! It was a perfect place to camp. The only difficulty we had was meeting up with Philip when we got there due to bad service. I would suggest setting a meeting time beforehand incase you do not have service near the parking spot. It was a great stay!

    Megan2017-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Nice campsite that overlooks Crystal Pond. There is some light noise pollution from I-91. Sunset was fantastic.

    Shawn2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Nice, clean camp spot with a great overlook of the lake. As a previous review stated, there is light traffic noise and noise from the lake.

    Tiffany2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Scenic! Had a great stay

    Val2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Philip has set up a number of tree houses near the campsites! We got the wonderful pleasure of climbing them and watching the sunset. Amazing!

    Liz2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Philip's place was amazing! The views are lovely, the spot was quiet and remote, and it was nice not being on a regular 'campground'. We felt like we were in our own little world. The actual campsite is an 8-min short walk into a trail (pack light!), so make sure you've got water/wood/food if you don't want to go back and forth to your car. We arrived late on the night of our stay (9pm) and Philip couldn't make it, but he made sure to send us detailed instructions and we had no trouble finding our way to the campsite. We'd love to stay there again, and would definitely recommend it to our family & friends!

  • It is a very nice place with an amazing view. It is very remote and you can enjoy your privacy.

    Sarah2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Philip is very communicative and sweet. The views were as described and stunning. The primitiveness of the site is also accurate. Would camp there again. Great sunsets and lovely breezes.

Fall colors provide a stunning backdrop to this lakeside camp in mid to late September with magnificent views of the mountains surrounding Lake Willoughby in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom. Built in the 1960s, the mid-century modern waterfront camp has a main camp, bunkhouse, and master bedroom connected by a deck. There is a private area with dock for swimming and kayaking.
    - The camp (cottages are called camps in this part of Vermont) is located near the end of a winding, private, dead-end road. - There are two kayaks available. Life jackets are provided. - The camp and dock are only accessible by stairs. - A brief booklet called Camp Guidelines providing a detailed description of the camp and its environs will be supplied.
Lake Willoughby is a spring-fed lake. Five miles long and a mile wide, it is surrounded by mountains, many with well-maintained hiking trails. The two most prominent are Mt. Pisgah and Mt. Hor at the south end that rise over 1,000 feet above the lake and feature dramatic cliffs. There are public beaches at the north and south ends of the lake that can be reached by car. The lake is stocked with trout and salmon that thrive in the deep waters.
  • I stayed here with my husband and two friends for the weekend and it was the perfect place for us! This cabin is in the most beautiful setting, directly on the lake with a secluded dock. The main cabin was a great hang out spot on a rainy, cool day, and the fireplace kept us warm and cozy. Also the kitchen is well supplied and has all the spices you could dream of! The sleeping arrangements were comfortable, and the electric blankets helped on chilly nights. When the sun came out, the deck was a really nice sunbathing area. And you can't beat the view! I would happily stay here again.

  • An absolutely amazing place! It was perfect. Great spot and great hosts!

    Lara2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Brynn's camp on Lake Willoughby is a treasure! It is truly an amazing property. We got lucky and saw a beautiful full moon over the lake. Brynn has everything you would ever need to have a great vacation at the lake. A fully equipped kitchen, clean bathroom and sleeping space but also a dock to swim or kayak from right next to the camp. We can't wait to come back again. Thanks so much for having us!

    Nicole2017-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Such a great spot! This cabin has rustic charm in spades and has a very unique layout that makes the lake the focus of your attention. We absolutely loved it there.

  • Lake Willoughby is a stunning setting, and Brynn's camp nestles right in at the water's edge. The kitchen is well equipped, and the cabin is clean. Brynn is a very thoughtful host, and her communications to us were prompt and to the point. Thumbs up.

    George2017-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Brynn's place was the perfect location. The deck was so enjoyable, we had every meal out there and spent entire days outside. We truly didn't want to leave this camp on the water and are already planning our next weekend getaway! There are 3 little "Buildings" connected by deck and walkway and this was perfect for the 5-6 of us ladies to hang out, cook, sleep, play games and enjoy the water. Proximity to hiking and mountain biking was also a huge plus. Brynn and her camp manager, Caitlin were so easy to communicate with and reasonable. We had a great time!

    Monika2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • The camp is exactly as advertised! This is a great secluded spot with a beautiful view. The host was easy to communicate with and the property manager made sure we had everything we needed. Would absolutely rent again!

This is a seasonal cottage that is right on the water facing West. You can sit on the vintage porch and feel like you have left the rest of the world behind as you listen to the loons. Mostly available late summer and fall. The best time of year!
This two story cabin is tucked away in the wonderful area of West Glover, Vermont which is nearby the famous Parker Pie ( pizza-pub) , Hill Farmstead Brewery, and Jasper Hill.
Not only are you on lovely Lake Parker, but you are in a terrific neighborhood of friendly people and calling loons and croaking frogs. Peace and quiet does seem to be the way of life here.
  • This is a wonderful place to get away for some sun, water and relaxation. As a bird lover I particularly appreciated the loons and the bald eagle I saw. A beautiful setting and a charming cabin. We had a perfect time.

    Robin2017-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time at the cottage. It is right on a small lake, with picnic tables, a firepit, boats, sunroom, all available for use. We took full advantage of all the cottage had to offer despite the abrupt snow during our autumn leaf-peepin' trip! It was still fantastic. Perfect size for four friends (three double beds upstairs).

    Janel2015-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at Sue & Bill's cottage. They were very nice hosts and were very good at getting back to us with any information we needed. It was wonderful to wake up every morning with a view out across the lake and we enjoyed using their kayaks to paddle around Lake Parker. Their cottage is very near Bread & Puppet and Parker Pies (a gourmet pizza shop), both of which we enjoyed.

  • The perfect place for a quiet weekend away. The weather didn't cooperate but we made the best of it! Went to local antique shops, restaurants and breweries. The lake is a footstep off of the back deck and you wake up to prettiest view. The perfect small town vermont getaway! Thanks so much

    Diane2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the Tester's cabin was great. Sue was kind and helpful and the property was as expected. Hard to have a bad time in the NEK during the fall. Thanks Sue!

  • I only wish I had more time at this idyllic cottage. The setting and host's could not have been nicer. If peacefulness, comfort, and access to water, mountains, and small village life is what you seek, this is the place! Thank you for sharing your beautiful place.

    Jeff2015-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful, relaxing time at the Tester's cottage. It's a lovely, quiet, cozy spot with easy lake access and great neighbors. We'd visit again!

    Jill2016-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at the Cottage. The location was perfect as it was not far off the highway, but provide the serenity we were looking for. My young children loved being right on the lake. We listened to the frogs and loons, watched people fishing, looked for fish on our own, and even took a dip in the water. We finished our trip with smores over the fire in the amazing fire pit. The house was perfect for our needs; clean, well kept, and the porch was a favorite place to be when not outside. We did not have a chance to meet the Tester's but they were very responsive and helpful answering any questions we had/

Cozy renovated walk-out basement with two rooms, private bath and private entrance, offers all one needs for a secluded getaway in the mountains of the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. You will enjoy the quaint log cabin atmosphere, with walking/snowshoeing trails right on the premises. Close proximity to skiing, hiking, cycling, swimming, breweries and much more Vermont has to offer!
The guest room has it's own private entry and bathroom. The bed is a comfortable queen with a down comforter. There is a desk for writing/reading. It is cozy and quaint with a wood stove for cold winter evenings. Across the hall there is a room with a day bed (twin), mini refrigerator, table, and microwave. The private bathroom has a nice shower and an area to hang clothes.
I live on a quiet dirt road. It is a nice road to walk, run or bike on. Although, I have neighbors on both sides, they are unable to be seen due to the woods around my property. Sunsets are often very lovely from my deck.
  • Lisa's place is charming! A nice walk-out basement level "apartment" in a cute log cabin home. Lisa is a gracious and friendly host. There is a small fridge with breakfast items which is a nice touch, plus coffee and tea.

    Kathy2017-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great private apartment at the ground floor of the log cabin, Lisa thought of buyin a special breakfast for our son and bagels and drinks for us. Drive up the hill alittle further than what (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) maps indicated. Highly recommended.

  • Very nice place. We really enjoyed our stay.

    Louis-Philippe2017-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • I would absolutely recommend staying at Lisa's place! Lisa was a wonderful host, and went well above and beyond what would normally be expected of an AirBnB host We were lucky that Lisa was around and had some free time and we got to hang-out with her and have a great chat over breakfast. The log cabin is wonderful - everything you would expect, and the pics definitely don't do it justice. If the location accommodation layout suits you - don't think twice about it. You won't find better - and certainly won't find better value. Lisa - it was great to meet you. Thanks for making our stay in Vermont so enjoyable. Kevin (and Mum Pat)

    Kevin2016-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin , inside and out, is more beautiful than the photos portray. The yard is surrounded by the woods. Very quiet and secluded. It is a true "get away" experience. Our one night stay was not enough to absorb it all. Lisa is an awesome host. She is ready to engage in a conservation about everything and anything.....like a dear friend. She really cares about your comfort and will go out of her way to help.

Located on a private lane, across the road from majestic Lake Willoughby. Cozy room with two single beds, bureau, night stand and hangers on back of door. Shared bath if there is another guest in the house. Sleep peacefully to the sound of running brook. Close to Burke bike trails, local hiking, two beaches great for swimming, kayaking and water skiing. Boat access across the road. Country store with deli within walking distance and local pub nearby.
The room is located in the back of the house, on the second floor, and the view is more woodsy. I rent another room in the house as well, so you will share the upstairs bathroom if there are other guests in the house at the time of your stay, otherwise its all yours.
The house is located in a small village of Westmore. My place is situated directly across the road from the lake and I dont have any immediate access to the lake, except where I keep the kayak, up the road a piece, but it is not the best place for swimming. There is a great little country store within walking distance which has a deli, pizza and baked goods. There are several restaurants for a short drive and one directly up the road which is open mostly during the summer.
  • Quiet place with great location

    Renise2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • This was the first time I have rented a room in a house on AirBnB (as opposed to an entire place). Lake Willoughby is a very popular spot during the summer, and especially on the weekend preceding the 4th of July, and as such, options were pretty limited. Fortunately, Sue recently availed another bedroom in her house, which fit the bill perfectly after a long day at Hill Farmstead. She is a quintessentially Vermont gracious host, who provided coffee / fruit / pastries in the morning, and even offered to mail back a headlamp that had fallen out of my bag during my stay. I hope to have the chance to return to Willoughby again soon. It is a magnificent place.

Willoughby Haven is the ideal place to relax and unwind. It sits on 4 private acres including a large lawn leading up to 400 feet of private beach with amazing views. Lake Willoughby is very peaceful and relaxing. Jet skis and wave runners are not allowed and there are not many boats. There are seven cabins but we only rent out five (one is a game room and we use one for our family). Willoughby Haven is great for couples and families with kids to have fun and relax!
You will have access to kayaks and canoes and there is a picnic table and charcoal grille behind each cabin. Willoughby Haven is 3.5 hours from Boston and is 6 hours from New York City.
The Willoughby Lake Country Store is right across the street. They have groceries, ice, beer, wine, sandwiches and pizza and Jim and Sandy who own it are fantastic.
  • My wife and I were thrilled to bring our two kids (ages 4 and 2) to the lake for a few nights. The cabin was well stocked and the property is a perfect place to relax, play and launch from into the lake. The private beach is huge and the gentle slope is perfect for young kids. (The water is only about 12-18" deep for probably 100ft out). We are excited to get back there someday!

    Brian2017-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • The cabins on the property were clean and adorable with just enough imperfections to feel campy and relaxed. My two teens loved it as well.

  • This is a small but very clean and charming cabin. The beds were comfortable and everythig was very clean. The property is perfect with a private beach and prime location for evening sunsets. The store is directly across the street and has everythung you moght need. They also make amazing sandwiches and pizzas. Order your pizza in the morning so they can prepare it for the time you wish to pick them up. The weather was so nice we never used the game room but on a rainy day it also looks fun. I would definitely recommend these cabins. Caution #4 does not have a stove. We brought a gas grill and enjoyed meals cooked outside!

    Tracy2017-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was more than we expected. In fact, we wanted to add a night, but the cabins were all rented. There was so much peace and opportunity to disconnect with work and society and reconnect with nature and our family. The store was great, and the cabin was spacious and very accommodating! What a lovely slice of heaven this property is! The rock slide and the lake provided us with tons of family friendly entertainment. Thanks, Jonathan!

    Becky2017-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • This place was amazing. We were there with our family of six. The space slept us comfortably. There is plenty of room to eat inside but we enjoyed every meal outside. There is a picnic table right by the cabin and also several by the water. The beach is great because it stays shallow for such a long distance. I often enjoyed wading in the water, while others in our family kayaked and swam. There is a wonderful grassy area too. Various family members played frisbee, basketball, horseshoes and football. We loved the view of the lake with the mountains behind it from the screen porch, which has a comfortable futon to relax on. We enjoyed the Willoughby Store which truly was right across the street. It had a bit of everything, covering any supplies that we forgot, and also great ice cream. We hope to stay here again and highly recommend it.
