  • Sally's apartment was a great find! The home is on a hillside that feels outside the urban bustle and the studio is cozy and well-equipped. Sally met us at the door with a smile and gave a quick tour. Her notebook of guest information was prolific, and coming and going were easy. If you're driving, especially, this is an outstanding home base from which to visit the area.

  • Sally’s apartment is lovely very clean and a good place to relax at the end of the day. The area which it is located was perfect and had everything you needed nearby.

  • Perfect find for a multi night stay. the room is a little smaller than the photo's portrayal but there is absolutely ample space for 1-2 people to relax and wind down after a day’s busying. Plenty of light during the day and warm at night. Stay was made all the more comfortable with Sally allowing me to keep my bike inside the apartment which as someone who travels with their bike a lot is immediate brownie points! :)

The Smithy is a delightful stone detached, single storey cottage with a turf and heather roof, hand carved oak doors and a woodburning stove. The cottage boasts amazing views over Swinshaw reservoir surrounded by the beautiful Peak District moorland.
Cooking facilities: microwave combination oven/grill only. 2 ring hob. Small fridge.
The Smithy is nestled above the lovely Victorian town of Glossop in the Peak District. There are lovely public parks and a swimming pool. Restaurants in the town and locally cater for all tastes. On the edge of the Longendale Trail, Chatsworth, Bakewell and Eyam.
  • The Smithy is a cute, comfortable and cosy cottage with oak doors, a log burner, a super comfy bed and lovely farmhouse furnishings. Perfect size for a couple for a weekend away! Picturesque walks opposite your door, good pubs and also on the outskirts of other places of interest within the peaks. Julie and her daughter were both lovely hosts, we got homemade bread (still warm) delivered to our door on our first morning which was to die for! The kitchen is compact yet workable, we managed a fry up both mornings! Netflix is an amazing addition, home from home especially after a nice long walk! I wouldn't hesitate recommending anyone to stay here. It is a beautiful little find. Waking up to green hilly field views and sheep out of your window is a real treat! Thank you for a lovely weekend!

    Charlotte2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • The Smithy is exactly as incredible as it looks. It has everything you need for a trip to the Peaks and is a beautiful place to come back to after a cold day in the hills. The property was immaculate and the log burner in the lounge and underfloor heating in the bathroom were an absolute godsend. I can’t recommend Julie as a host enough, plenty of local tips and very helpful in all aspects.

    Mitch2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent stay - so beautiful with lovely views, cosy fire, lots of amenities, and Julie added those extra touches to make it extra special! Highly recommend visiting this special place!

  • Great place and great host. Will be back again !!!

    Kerry2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Julie’s Smithy cottage met all my expectations based on the description, photos and previous reviews. The views and setting were lovely, the cottage was warm when we arrived and Julie was there to meet us, communicating well prior to our arrival and allowing when we asked, to let us check in a little early. The log burning fire and character features are a lovely touch to the cottage and the door is amazing. Facilities like tea and coffee, milk and sugar were present and Julie brought us a fresh loaf of bread when we arrived which we soon started eating! The facilities worked without issue and Julie responded straight away in the evening when I asked if we could get a little more kindling. We had a lovely relaxing stay and would stay here or at another of Julie’s cottages without hesitation.

    Jessica2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay here was amazing! Julie is a great host and had so many thoughtful touches- she even made us cakes and baked us a loaf of bread!! The cottage is so cosy and we felt right at home. Highly recommend!

    Julia2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect accomodation for our much needed mini break away. Wonderful cosy cottage made special by lovely decor, perfectly clean and fresh baked bread in the morning added that special touch. We will definitely be back

Quaint and tastefully renovated 2 bedroom apartment, full of history and charm. It is one of the oldest buildings in New Mills and I'm lead to believe from my history lessons in school that this stoney building housed the cotton spinners from the mills back in the late 1700s! Just a stones throw from the Torrs Millennium Walk and the Sett Valley Trail. All amenities such as Sainsburys, Boots, The Crispy Cod Chippy, Local Pubs and Transport Links are all within a short walking distance.
The property is ideal for walkers and bikers. With easy access to the Sett Valley and Goyt Valley trails. There are a variety of leaflets and maps of the suggested trails available in the apartment. Advice is also available should you fancy visiting Lyme Park, Kinder Scout or Lantern Pike. 2 bedroom apartment, private entrance into a small hall, opening up to a large living room with a 2 and a 3 seater sofa. Smart TV and DVD player and a small selection of DVDs are provided. Fully fitted kitchen and dining room table that seats 6 persons. Fridge freezer, microwave, washing machine and all other appliances expected in a generic kitchen are all available for use. Bathroom, Shower and bath, towels, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner are there for your use if you so require. Master bedroom, double bed with tv, wardrobe and drawers. Second bedroom, single bed and drawers. We have also provided a fold away collapsible single bed (with extra bedding) that can be positioned in the living room for a fourth guest. Exterior, a raised decking area, with bench and chiminea for guests use. There is a secure lockable space for a couple of bikes should you need it. Parking, a large public car park is next to the apartment, you may also if feeling brave, park outside through the tunnel, however I take no responsibility, should you damage your vehicle in the process.
  • Well worth a visit So near shops restaurants and pubs Comfortable accommodation well equipped

  • Great flat to stay in for at most 4 people, it's a great location with many local shops nearby. It is also really close driving distance to some of the main areas of Peak District!

    Chloe2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Jason and Kim are excellent hosts. They provided excellent check in instructions. The house is lovely, and felt very homely. It's clean and well equipped and very quiet. There's parking in the courtyard outside (quite narrow but doable) or a public car park 50 yards away. New Mills is round the corner, and Derbyshire and the Peak District close by. Highly recommend the house to anyone in the area!

Blue/white decor. Facilities include tea/coffee/milk/sugar. Crockery, cutlery, towels, microwave, electric hob/oven, fridge/freezer, toaster, kettle, cleaners & towels. Iron & ironing table, hair dryer, Aircon, TV & WiFi. D/bed, chairs and table and sofa bed. Patio garden fully planted and outdoor table, chairs and umbrella. You are on the edge of Peak National Park with multiple walks, cycle tracks and access to local rail station. Pub food nearby (not Mondays). Detached from hosts home.
The Loft is essentially a self contained Studio flat with an external garden space and parking. It measure 15sq/m. Not an enormous space but well appointed with the guests comfort and convenience a priority
Tintwistle is located on the Woodhead Pass, in The Longdendale Valley. This is a primary transport route across the Penine Hills, connecting Manchester to Sheffield and Barnsly. The Village is in the Peak District National Park, one of the oldest national parks in the UK. The scenery is stunning at any time of year, it is a joy for walkers and ramblers or cyclists and motor cyclists. The village is small with less than 1500 people, it has a Pub, a General Store, a Cafe / Bakery, a Cricket team, a Football team and most of the usual attributes of a tiny village. There is a Fly Fishery on Arnfield Reservoir, Clay Pigeon Shooting at Boars Clough Farm, Golf and Tennis at Glossop. The nearest rail station is Hadfield, just over a mile away. It gives you good connection to the main city life in Manchester, Stockport and Glossop - our largest nearby town. Manchester Airport is a 45 minute taxi journey away, giving you connection to the world.
  • Tony’s place completely exceeded our expectations! If you’re looking for a quiet and relaxing getaway, with beautiful scenic walks right on your doorstep- then this little gem is definitely for you. It’s a small space, but tony has thought of absolutely everything that you could possibly need. Most of the touristic towns mentioned in blogs like Bakewell/ Dovesdale are in the south of the Peak District (and Buxton still 40 mins away by car)- so I was a little concerned we might be a bit ‘out of it’ - but Glossop is just on your doorstep which has lots of shops and restaurants if you need them... and for a peaceful weekend away- just being surrounded by the countryside in Tintwistle was perfect for us. I’d highly recommend the Longdendale Trail (although the bike hire shop in Glossop didn’t seem to be open anymore- so you'll have to complete by foot if you haven’t brought one)! Excellent value for money, and a really cozy stay!

  • Great little Place and have already booked to return.

    Tom2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Tony is a good host and his place is great. It's private, clean and has everything you need. Recomended

    Chris2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • The place was incredibly tidy and Tony gave us a few personal touches which we were really startled and happy with, for example, Prosecco in the fridge (as it was Valentine’s Day), he was in constant communication from the minute it was booked to help us decide where to go over the weekend and was very keen to help. Wonderful host and world class service.

    Jake2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Wow what a fabulous place in great location definitely worth a visit and Tony is a great host. Our second visit and we will.be back

    Fiona2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • What a gem a fantastic flat with everything you need. Tony is a fabulous host and nothing is too much trouble. Location is amazing you are so close to lots of interesting places to visit. The view from the window is picture postcard. Thanks again Tony

    Fiona2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • I had a very good three nights at the Hayloft on a short walking holiday in the Peaks in January. Tony was prompt, clear and courteous in his communication prior to my arrival. The flat itself was clean and equipped as described in the listing. I was particularly impressed with the heating and the shower, both of which I enjoyed after coming in cold from walking. The outside steps to access the flat are steep but there is a good light to illuminate them. At the price you would be hard-pressed to find a better self-catering option for the northern part of the Peak District. Definitely recommended.

    Daniel2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • I absolutely loved my stay here, and will be coming back to do more in the Peak Distrist. Tony is a real gent, and will accommodate you in any way he can. The place was perfect for me

  • A fantastic house and Emmy was a great host. I would happily recommend.

    James2019-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • Emmy's place was lovely, and really well situated for a little break near the Peak district. We had no idea what was in Glossop, but it had lots of lovely little places, and it's only a 20 minute walk into town. The space suited our little family perfectly.

    Tessa2019-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful home, sparkling and homely. Wonderful touches and very stylish.

    Angela2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, modern, clean and homely! A great place to relax and walking distance to several pubs, a convenience store, the park and then just 15-20 minutes walk in to the town centre. I would highly recommend Emmy's place - she was a wonderful host and we had thoroughly enjoyed our weekend in Glossop.

    Bryony2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Loved our time at this property. Very modern, spotlessly clean and spacious.

    Valerie2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • What an absolute find this was for our family as we are used to staying in hotels whilst visiting family up North! The house was home from home and everything we needed was catered for and so clean/tidy. Its in a lovely friendly road which was very quiet at all times...The local village is packed with a variety of shops including a great Tesco. Highly recommend visiting The Blue John mines in the Peaks which is only 20 mins in the car and the Trafford Centre was great entertainment for our children as there was bowling, adverture golf and a cinema plus a huge arcade area with dodgems. Can't recommend this property highly enough and we will certainly be returning.

A wonderful and relaxing rural retreat perfect for couples or small families. The Apartment is set within the beautiful extensive gardens of a large country mansion. Your visit will be completely private for you to use as you wish. The accommodation is nestled amongst the foothills of kinder scout and the surrounding moors. Excellent views and completely surrounded by all the wildlife the British countryside has to offer. A very clean and well equipped space in the Peak District National Park.
The apartment can sleep up to 4 people, the bedroom has one double bed and the living room has a double sofa bed perfect for children. The bathroom is en-suite to the one bedroom so people staying in the living room on the sofa bed will need to go through the bedroom to access the bathroom. All the water that enters the cottage is from a fresh spring that serves several other properties this is treated and is absolutely fine to drink but if you prefer chlorine treated water you may wish to bring bottled water for drinking. This can also sometimes have an affect on the water pressure. A travel cot and high chair can be provided upon request. The Garden flat is surrounded by stunning walks and is a very short drive to Glossop, train station, supermarkets, pubs, restaurants and Glossop Golf course. Trains regularly go back and forth to Manchester City centre (tacking 20/30mins) for those who fancy a city shop with a peaceful retreat to return to! It is a very peaceful and quiet space making it an ideal getaway!
If you are looking to visit Manchester especially for the Christmas markets this could be a perfect option for you! It is a 5minute Taxi ride or car journey to the train station then a 20 minute train journey into Manchester City centre! Trains run back and forth to Glossop every 20 minutes!!! It’s so EASY and a more peaceful and relaxing place to stay instead of a busy city satay!

  • Leeanne was a great host, really easy to communicate with, very warm and friendly. The apartment was spotless and had many useful/ thoughtful touches- snacks, cleaning products, local tips. We were there over Storm Dennis and the house remind warm and cosy- and the washer dryer came in very handy! Would recommend!

    Asma'U2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely cottage right outside Glossop, very easy to get to by taxi for around £6-8 or with a relaxed walk in 35 minutes. Leeanne is a great host with whom the communication was easy and quick. She even suggested us visiting a nice pub called The Beehive that turned out to be a very cool place that served both English and Thai cuisine. The cottage was perfect for us as a couple, perhaps it would be a little crowded for 4 people as the second bed, which is a sofa bed is in the living room and there’s only one en-suite bathroom in the bedroom. Leanne’s place offered us a great escape to nature and a very relaxing stay. Thank you for having us!

A rustic caravan in the glossop countryside. Just a short walk from glossop town centre and a stones throw from popular walking routes in the Peak District. There is a separate entrance from the main house so you will have the space all to yourselves.
Designed to look like a woodland lodge, the caravan is warm and cosy, and perfect for a good weekend getaway.
Just a few doors up from the local pub and shops. 10 minute drive to the nearest supermarkets and a train ride away from Manchester City Centre
  • We had a lovely stay at Bryony’s place. We arrived around half 7 to a warm, lit caravan which we appreciated greatly after such a long drive. The caravan was clean, warm and well decorated, the beds were comfy and the shower was lovely and hot (things I worry about when staying in a new place!) We had been provided with loads of extras (bread, eggs, jams, milk, orange juice, teas, coffees, herbs and spices - the list goes on!) and this made the place feel super homely. We would definitely stay here again!

  • Absolutely amazing place to stay !! Extremely cozy and comfortable! Anything you could think of needed in the kitchen was just there , pretty much anything you needed was supplied . Fresh eggs , milk , bread and orange juice was provided and the fire was on when we got in so it was nice and warm. Extremely lovely Inside and out and it’s in a great location

  • A delightful space which the hosts have clearly made a thoughtful effort to personalise and customise. We stayed during a storm and it was such a cosy little place to come back to following our adventures on the moors and peaks.

  • We had a great stay. Bryony was very friendly and welcoming, the caravan was cosy, warm and comfortable even when temperatures were below freeing outside). Very private, lovely views of the hills and perfect for us and our little dog.

    Jane2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Such a quirky little place! We LOVED our stay. And we were greeted with lit candles, bread, milk, eggs, orange juice, cereal ,tea, coffee..... jams and cereal bars. Everything you need for breakfast! Such a lovely touch! The view is also amazing and often had the sheep walking past in the morning! Genuinely beautiful little caravan, rustic and just so homely. And beautifully decorated. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet relaxed get away. There is a full library of dvds and there’s also board games to keep you occupied during the nights. We will be coming again!

    Lisa2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little getaway! We arrived late at night due to work, and were greeted by Bryony's Mum, who had worked hard to make sure everywhere was ready for us, including lovely little touches like fairy lights, candles, and fresh milk, eggs, bread etc. The heating was on ready for us so it was lovely and cosy. We had a fab stay, and Bryony's mum was so helpful and friendly. Highly reccomend this place! Very homely.

Located in a semi-rural setting surrounded by fields, sheep and horses. The Trans Pennine Trail,(Sustrans route 68 Pennine cycleway) runs by the side of the cottage. The Peak district and its National Parks are located on the doorstep. Near by Broadbottom only 10 minutes walk away hosts a few take aways, a pub that serves food Thursday to Sunday, train station and garden centre with a great cafe and local produce on sale. Charlesworth hosts a few local grocery shops, a pub that serves food daily, and a horse riding centre. The city is great for shopping, restaurants, museums, theatre and clubs and pubs. Combine a country holiday, walking, mountain biking, horse riding or just relaxing and enjoying the culture and the dazzling night life of Manchester. Offers a basic room with a double bed, clean linen, towels and free wifi connection. Decorated to a high spec and set in the attic. The attic does not have a door but the room occupies the entire 3rd floor space, with a winding staircase leading up to it. Please do not book if this may cause a problem for you. Shared family bathroom with shower and bath and separate toilet room. A simple 'help yourself' breakfast of tea or coffee and cereal or toast is provided. If you require anything in addition to this then you are welcome to bring your own. I am normally quite a sociable person and love to chat when I am free, I would be more than happy to share my knowledge of the area (I am a member of the local Mountain Rescue Team) and help in any way I can if I have the time. Manchester city centre is only a 23 minute train journey away. Tickets cost around £5 return. The closest main line train station is Broadbottom which is 10/15 minutes walk away and a bus stop is located opposite my house. Manchester Airport is a 30 minute drive away from my home. It is also possible to get from Manchester Airport to Broadbottom by train, changing trains at Manchester Piccadilly. However, I may be able to arrange to collect from or take to the airport, for a charge of £25 (taxi costs £40) Non smokers only please. Any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me and ask.

  • A lovely place to stop in an idillic part of the country, Lynda’s home was a cosy space to recover during our cycling trip along the Trans Penine Trail. Lynda helped us with the directions to the selection of local pubs, one of which had a great curry house above it. Would definitely recommend anyone to stay here. Thanks you very much again Lynda

    Adam2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay with Lynda and Jen was outstanding. We were blown away by they warmth and consideration! From before we booked (when I checked that we were okay to bring a little one and a dog) to after we left (when they were kind enough to bring forgotten items to us in town) they were the greatest hosts. They are so down to earth and accommodating! We felt completely at ease with them and in their lovely home. The house itself is beautiful, spotless and so cosy. Everything in the house was as advertised, if not better than advertised! Our room was lovely and comfortable and we felt like we had space to relax in the house. The location is perfect for walks, pubs and right next to a great local brewery where you can sample their beers. We really enjoyed Lynda and Jen’s company and would recommend anyone who wants to explore the Peaks or just needs a few days of rest and relaxation, to head here. It’s truly a gem. Lynda and Jen, a huge thanks for your hospitality, you really made our break! We hope to see you again soon! xxx

Enjoy the warm welcome to my interesting home. The house is part of a conversation from the police station. It is a warm and peaceful home with interesting art books and music. Your room is large and comfortable with a TV. You are welcome to use my small garden which was the police yard. A light continental breakfast with good coffee is provided. In addition you can also book a reiki /crystal session for deep relaxation.
My home is 14miles from Manchester Airport. There are good transport links to Manchester, Leeds, York and Liverpool. The area is on the edge of Saddleworth Moor and close to the Pennine Way providing wonderful walking country.
The town has a number of independent shops and pubs with live music.

  • Lynne and I have stayed at a few places now through Airbnb, but Vanessa's was simply outstanding. Vanessa's hospitality is second to none and beyond being a fantastic host she is such a lovely person. We would have loved to have stayed longer but our circumstances meant that we could only be there for the one night on this occasion. Vanessa's home is lovely and easy to find. We cannot recommend Vanessa's home enough and will return soon.

  • Magpie Cottages were absolutely wonderful. From the easy booking and fabulous communication with Liz, to the well maintained, clean facilities and from the lovely welcome, information given to us on arrival by the hosts to the massage we were lucky enough to have on a Sunday afternoon, everything was delightful. The hosts were so thoughtful and talked us through everything about the property making us feel entirely welcome throughout. I cannot rate this stay enough...I almost didn’t want to leave a good review to keep it a secret for us to return and have the facilities to ourselves again! Many thanks, we’ll be back as soon as possible!

Superb Views over the Snake Pass and surrounding hills. The balcony off the lounge allows you to sup your coffee whilst enjoying the vista. The accommodation is basically a 2 bedroom bungalow with a large loft bedroom that has a toilet/basin facility. Disabled access is not good due to hill that house is built into. Property is modern, and well maintained. Shower room is en-suite to main bedroom, Bath in second bathroom. Underfloor heating on main floor Radiators elsewhere.
Plenty of local pubs and restaurants of varied cuisines at excellent prices. Glossop has a lively music scene.

  • Your hospitality was amazing and your thoughtful touches to the places made us feel right at home. The place was super clean and everything was labeled. You provide more than the basic and checked on us while we were there, we would are looking to come back in the summer. I would recommend it to anyone who likes quality, cleanliness, and someone who cares about the property and the guests. Great location for the Peak District and the town has everything you need.

    Cian2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in Peter's place over new year and it was the perfect place for friends to enjoy the peaks! The rooms are a great size and bathrooms were sparkly clean and the kitchen has everything you could possibly need for cooking meals. The views are amazing and you are so close to the peaks that you can go walking from ghd doorstep!!

    Clair2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • My family stayed at Peter's place over Christmas and it was absolutely perfect! Views were stunning and the location couldn't have been better. We were ~20 minutes walk from countryside so we did a few nice walks (up to Bleaklow, along to Longdendale trail, and shorter circular routes). And even closer to town, so was no trouble getting to Ayubowan for our Christmas lunch, or the tesco/M&S (& mountain warehouse!) for bits and bobs. The house was exactly as described, but I would say the sitting room is bigger than it looks in pictures, and I can't do it justice for how clean and tidy it is and how well-equipped the kitchen is! Peter was a wonderful host, showing us round and meeting us at the door so the taxi driver didn't miss him. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend and come back ourselves :)

‘The Little House’ is a traditional terraced stone millworker’s cottage on the edge of New Mills, on the way to Hayfield village, Kinder Scout, and generally known as the Gateway to The Peaks. New Mills offers a full range of amenities to ensure your stay is comfortable and convenient, as well as preserving a wealth of local heritage and traditions of the area. The house is pleasantly decorated and traditionally furnished, with a wood burning stove as well as gas central heating.
Spacious rooms, comfortably accommodating four and a baby, offering all the comforts you will want after busy days exploring the local area in all seasons or simply relaxing ‘at home’. Close proximity to all local amenities, including friendly hostelries and cafés where you are sure to receive a warm welcome. Well equipped kitchen with a welcome pack provided to make you feel at home.
I chose to retire to this area after many years living and working in the South East. The natural unspoilt beauty of the area is unrivalled and there is an abundance of interesting heritage to explore. I enjoy The Peaks in all seasons and moods and invite you to do likewise!
  • Helen is a wonderful host going way above and beyond expectations.

    Damien2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Helen was a lovely and very attentive host which is very reassuring when travelling with children. The house had lots of care and attention, everything guests need is catered for and it's been decorated beautifully, really cosy. The location of New Mills could not be better for exploring both Manchester and The Peaks. New Mills is a really interesting place to visit for its part in the industrial revolution, they provide a lovely walk and heritage centre for a couple of hours if you don't mind hills! The only thing I would change about the house is to put triple glazing on the front bedroom window as road is busier outside than I expected. Views to the rear are gorgeous rolling hills which was a lovely surprise. We were very comfortable and happy here :)

    Jessica2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Helen is always the perfect host making sure everything is ready and check-in is smooth and painless. The stay was brilliant. The house is lovely and cosy nestled away in the Derbyshire hills.

    Damien2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Always amazing staying at Helen’s. Nothing is too much trouble and she always goes above and beyond to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The kids live it. Cannot wait to visit again.

    Damien2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Helen is an exceptionally good host. Better than any that I’ve had before. She’s very accommodating and she will go out of her way to help. I can’t wait to visit again.

  • Helen is a wonderful and friendly host. Her house is to a good standard with lots of nice touches. Lovely rural location and a nicely heated cosy house.

    Damien2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Helen's place over the weekend. It is an amazing house, cosy and warm. Helen left some food for us so we could have a yummy supper and breakfasts. The house is very well equipped, very clean and warm, beds very comfortable. we would definitely recommend Helen's place to those who like hiking and those who spend more time at home :)

    Katarzyna2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • A top-notch stay! The cottage was warm and cozy, beautifully decorated and fully equipped with everything you need for a great stay. Helen was a great host, excellent communication, then left us to it. We particularly appreciated the thoughtful touches for children including a black out blind, a baby gate and lovely children's books. There's a busy road out the front but the view over the fields out the back was gorgeous. It was a great location for us to get in to Manchester for the day and also tour around bits of the lovely Peak district. Overall, highly recommended!

  • The studio was very easy to find and met good specifications. Footpaths over to Kinder area can be accessed directly from the rear of the property, as well as a path into Hayfield (although there is quite a climb on the way back). Definitely a place for walkers. The studio was beautifully clean, the shower was nice and hot and the bed comfortable. WiFi and TV signal OK. Everything we needed could be found in the kitchen area. Great place for two plus dog. For a flatter walk, there is an easy trail from Hayfield - the Sett Valley Trail, which has a convenient café just under half way to New Mills. Hayfield itself has good pubs and a chippy which we sampled. Great all round and to be recommended. Linda was easily contactable and quick to respond. Would be happy to return in the future.

    Tracy2019-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay in Linda and Keith’s studio. It was extremely clean with lots of special added touches to make our stay truly wonderful. • An outstanding place to stay. We felt instantly at home as soon as we met the host Jayne let alone before walking into the doors of the lovely annexe. The little touches all around the space that are so thoughtful and made us smile and think 'Jayne has literally thought of everything'. Hot tub under the stars was a fantastic way to end our trip. Jayne gave us local knowledge and the general communication was impeccable. Would definitely recommend staying here and only wish we had more time to stay and explore the local walks and villages. Thank you again for having us. Kelly and Jonny.

The annex is beautifully decorated, spotless and has everything you need. The hot tub was great, right outside the French doors of the annex leading to the garden. Jayne was a superb host, we were provided with fresh orange, milk tea and coffee and toast and cereal for breakfast. We enjoyed ordering a takeaway from the selection of menus provided and watched a film from the extensive selection provided from the Sky package available. We will most certainly be back again, and next time plan to explore Marple and the bars and restaurants close by. Thank you again Jayne.

A stones throw from both the Torrs Riverside Park and the Sett Valley trail, this is a cosy end of terrace house that has been recently renovated. An ideal base for walkers, bikers and climbers who are wanting to explore the stunning local area of the Peak District.
The house has been renovated to a high standard to make a practical and modern home whilst still trying to retain it's old charm. The living room is a good size and offers a very large, and very comfortable sofa to relax on. Also available for use is the big freeview tv, along with xbox for dvds and netflix. There is a large kitchen complete with the usual appliances and dining table. The bedroom has solid wood furniture with a kingsize bed with memory foam mattress. Both bed-side tables are empty for your use as is the wardrobe. The bathroom is fully tiled with waterfall taps and an amazing 'rain shower head' that is great for a soak.
  • Gareth's place is lovely. Great house with lovely interior and fantastic kitchen. Very comfortable bed! Extremely clean when we arrived. Loads of useful things like washing machine, big freezer, fridge. The location is great. If you're looking for a base to explore New Mills and the surrounding area it doesn't get much better than this. Very close to train station and 5 minutes to countryside walks. All the nice touches left for the start of the stay were so kind!

    Richard2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Spotlessly clean, thoughtful little touches like fresh bread and milk, and lovely little area. Would happily go back!

  • This is a great house in a good central position in New Mills - I would not hesitate to book again. Gareth left a good selection of breakfast goods for us and we enjoyed the style of the house. The sofa is super comfortable, TV excellent and a good bed and shower. It also felt like the kitchen and bathroom had recently been installed as both were in really great condition. We enjoyed our stay here and it met our needs perfectly. Thanks Gareth.

  • Lovely house with large kitchen, comfortable bed and really great location next to a sandstone gorge surrounded by the Peaks. Toddler friendly and clean. Recommended!

    Tony2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Garett’s suite was clean and comfortable with a very spacious fully equipped kitchen. We enjoyed exploring the area and found the riverside park really interesting. We made a day trip to Manchester while there, which was fast and easy on the train. There’s also a decent sized grocery store near by.

    Allison2019-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent location for exploring New Mills, didn't need to use the car during our stay. Lovely welcome food pack provided. Great place to stay.

Uber eats delivers here use code eats-danielg68729ui at checkout for £10 off. There are a few local shops, a corner shop is located a few doors up the road and a bakery is located a few doors down. There is a mini Asda located at the top of queens road which is around a 7 minute walk as well as various fast food and cafes on the opposite side of the road. There is a Tesco Metro on Mossley road around a 10 minute walk with a Papa Johns and other stores opposite it. The street only has 2 houses so there is loads of street parking and its quite safe as lorry drivers use it to sleep on and taxi drivers use it to wait around on while waiting for work.

  • This is a lovely little place to stay if you need somewhere outside Manchester City centre. Personally I think it’s best if you also drive, we drove into Ashton then took the tram to the city to save on costs, but there are plenty of links even if you don’t drive. A very welcoming atmosphere and a cosy room, couldn’t ask for much better

    Hayleigh2019-12-08T00:00:00Z

Woolpack Studio was once the Woolshop in the centre of the village and has been sensitively renovated into a one bedroom apartment. The interior design is simple modern and paired back, graced with original art throughout. The Studio is located in the heart of the village within a minutes reach of 3 gastro pubs, the award winning Italian restaurants 'Collesso" and the'Pack Horse' with their gastronomic delights and hugely popular tasting menu. With direct walking into the National Park.
Woolpack Studio is a perfect cozy base for a couple or a single traveller to enjoy the wild charms of the Peak National Park or simply as a base to tour the area and Manchester (40mins drive away). The studio is very reasonably priced, and is located in the heart of the historic village of Hayfield. The building dates back to 1840 and has a round end and as such is an iconic landmark in the villiage. Open plan kitchen /dining /living area Separate small bedroom with full size double bed and a small ensuite shower / toilet. Well behaved non malting dogs are welcome. The studio is a stone's throw to the many pubs , cafes and resturants in the village. You will not ever need to get in your car ! You have direct access into the Peak National Park from the door on foot. There is no outdoor space with the studio, however just a few yard from our door is a secluded spot with benches overlooking a waterfall on the banks of the river Sett, where you can sit and take in the nourishing air and tranquility of the river . Also there is a communal garden opposite the village hall with a waterfall view seating area at the far end . Whats not to love !😊
Hayfield is an amazing place . We have lived here for 11 years and it has a buzzing eclectic community . Hayfield also has a thriving community of creatives + artists with two galleries and excellent pubs, resturants and two cafes. Also walk down the Set Valley trail towards New Mills and stumble upon the amazing Set Valley Cafe (get there early at weekends 10 am opening ). The Spa town of Buxton is a 20 min drive and Bakewell /Chatsworth House 45 mins . The great thing about Hayfield is that you can walk directly onto the Kinder Estate and the highest peaks of the National park directly from the village . During Summer times you can sit outside the Royal Hotel or Pack Horse and bask in the evening sun with your favourite tipple and food and watch the sun go down into the hills . Magical! Food is available in The Pack Horse , The Royal Hotel , The George,The Sportsman Inn , Collosso (Italian Bistro /restaurant) There are two Cafes with a two new ones opening soon. A short walk down the Sett Valley Trail will bring you The Set Valley Cafe which is highly recommended with plenty of outdoor seating. All the pubs in Hayfield are Dog friendly. Access into the High Peak National Park and Kinder Reservoir is straight up Kinder Rd out of the Village.
  • David’s place is very stylish and cosy. It had everything we needed, special mention to the cafetières and two teapots! The village of Hayfield is very beautiful and lively. The local shop has good fresh bread and eggs. Although the place is advertised as a studio, it actually has a separate bedroom which is nice. Some previous reviews mentioned problems with the shower, but we actually thought it was completely fine once at the right setting (set the power to high, temperature 7-8).

  • Great communication. Lovely cosy studio in an amazing location. Just as described. Comfortable with all the amenities we needed. Very warm. Was always parking outside. Amazing walks direct from the studio to Kinder Scout and Snake Pass. Would thoroughly recommend the Sportsman pub - 10 mins walk - but well worth it for dog friendly, people friendly and gorgeous food/beer! Would love to return.

    Kate2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Wow what an amazing place in such a nice village, what this studio offers is a gateway to some amazing walks right on your doorstep. There is everything you will ever need in the studio from a comfortable bed to a walk-in wet room. The kitchen was fully stocked with cooking equipment and the living room very comfortable. We can't wait to stay again.

    Kevin2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Brilliant space to relax and get away from the city. Surrounded by excellent walks and excellent pubs, the perfect combination! Would highly recommend.

  • Lovely space kitted out in a retro style, lovely and cosy even in storm conditions. Hosts very helpful. Ideally located for the hills around Dark Peak area all within walking distance. Hayfield is a lovely place with ample drink and food options for a few nights stay, recommend The Sportmans myself

  • We've had a great time in Hayfield. The Woolpack Studio is a stylish and cosy place. Would visit again :)

    Katharina2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great studio apartment, modern and well presented. Has everything you need and is in a great location, we managed to get parked right outside. Lots of nice walks on your doorstep and places to eat and drink. The apartment was very clean with a well equipped kitchen and more than enough space for a couple of nights away. Communication with host was very good and check in and check out was straightforward
