Quiet Cul De Sac with privacy to enjoy the Irish countryside
  • We found this place to be tastefully decorated. It had all the necessary kitchen equipment needed to make meals including a cafetiere. One thing to note is that there is no place to store frozen goods, no big deal. Damian is a friendly and pleasant person who afforded us our own privacy which we appreciated. Place was clean and for the price is well worth it if you're visiting Galway, we would highly recommend...

  • Damien's cottage is just he describes. Very quiet and quaint. The black lab is very sweet and friendly. Cottage had everything I needed for my time there and is local to many historical sights!

  • Absolutely stunning cottage! Pictures do not do it justice. Would highly recommend. Easily accessible location quiet and tranquil.

  • Damians cottage was exactly as described. Very good value for the price paid. Very quiet, secluded and peaceful location but still only ten mins from Tuam centre. We would have no hesitation in asking Damian to rent us this cottage again.

    Olwyn & Tony 2017-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • This is a nice quiet cottage in the countryside. The fact that it is an old stone cottage means it's a little chilly but Damian was understanding and allowed us to put on the heating on a couple of hours in the evenings. We weren't prepared for the irish summer weather :-p I could imagine curling up in front of the fire in the lounge during the winter though! The beds seem new, with firm mattresses and big fluffy quilts. The lounge is cosy with books and Irish tv channels. Tuam is a short drive away for food and shopping. A peaceful retreat location!

  • What a perfect hideaway from the world. Not that far from Galway and just the right kind of secluded spot. Damian was a great host. Met us on arrival, showed us around and left us to it. We had a spot of trouble with our car and he was great in arranging for some help to get us going. All round, I would recommend Damian as a host and the cottage as the ideal relaxing getaway.

    Mel2017-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Very isolated.

  • Damian showed us round and then left us slone to have a great time. Lovely cottage, off the beaten track, with enclosed garden - ideal for our two Dalmatians. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you Damian.

  • Miss Sara is a great host. The house had everything we needed. We could not figure out why the fireplace was smoking inside and miss Sara came to the rescue. She also gave us a lot of info to help with our travel plans while providing cheerful conversation. GPS will not take you there, but will take you to nearby Creggs where you can contact Sara and she'll provide you with good directions

  • We had a great stay at Ploughman's for our visit to Ireland, close to family and within an hour of Galway city. Facility was in a lovely location in the countryside, secluded and very quiet and perfect for our family holiday

    Terry2017-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely stay at your cottage. Full facilities, lots of space and very clean. Turf fire extra special. Thanks for everything. I can fully recommend.

    Richard2017-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing stay we had at the ploughman. The location was a perfect escape from the cities and gave us an opportunity to enjoy the Irish countryside. There was a lovely Irish woman, Sara, who took time out from milking the cows to check us into the house. She even let us help her milk the cows and feed the pony. She was the sweetest lady, and still working hard at age 87. The house itself was perfect, one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in, and a perfect fireplace to enjoy a nice turf fire while eating delicious chocolates given to us by Sara. I cannot say enough about how enjoyable the stay was!! If you want to experience the "real Ireland" you should stay at the ploughman.

    Jim2017-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Welcoming and comfortable. Our host was very friendly and pleasant. She wanted to be sure we had what we needed. In some places I've felt uncomfortable due to all of the rules and fear of doing something to upset the host. Not here. We even came home to a turf fire burning in the fireplace which was awesome after our cold rainy day at the cliffs. Would definitely stay again.

    Aimee2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Clean and spacious house with easy access to all the tourist attractions. Very helpful host and easily contactable, in case needed. Highly recommended this place for a long weekend or few days away from city.

Our comfortable 3 bedroom town house is right in the centre of Dunmore town, sleeps 6.
An Teaċ Árd, our refurbished (2014) 3 story town house is situated right in the centre of Dunmore town in north Galway. It is an ideal location for exploring this beautiful part of Ireland. The house has been decorated to a high standard with all mod-cons. On the ground floor there is a modern kitchen/dining with breakfast bar and dining table; a cosy sitting area with solid fuel stove (starter pack supplied) where you can relax after a day’s sight seeing in the area. Also on the ground floor is a WC and Utility Room with a door leading out to the large garden. On the first floor there are two double bedrooms and a bathroom with shower, WC and WB. The second floor comprises of another double bedroom and a bathroom with bath, shower, WC and WB. There are many peaceful trails and walks in this area. The town of Dunmore has a good selection of shops and pubs and the 15th century Dunmore Abbey. Just a kilometre away is the 13th Century Dunmore Castle with prehistoric fort. If you enjoy golf try and get a game or two in at the Dunmore Demesne Golf Course. This course has been designed by Eddie Hackett. If you are not too tired after this you can take a walk along the Bog Walk and the Dunmore Loop. From the 3rd to the 12th of August 2018 there is the Dunmore Annual Festival. A ten-day feast with all sorts of activities for all ages: road race, traditional market day, live music sessions, sports activities, fancy dress night and way more. It's a great week to be in Dunmore. This is often live music in one of the many pubs in Dunmore town. These 'sessions' are not always planned in advance but one of the locals will know when one is about to happen! Just under an hour away by car is Galway city. Here you can spend a day soaking up the history of this vibrant city, wandering its ancient cobblestone streets that decorate the colourful, winding streets. Other attractions within a day’s car drive are: • Achill Island - Many activities including walking, fishing, surfing and scuba diving • Connemara National Park – home to the famous Connemara Pony • Croagh Patrick – overlooks Clew Bay in County Mayo and is considered the holiest mountain in Ireland Our house is, in short, the perfect place to return to after a busy day.
Our property is close to shops, pubs, coffee shops, pharmacy, post office, bank etc.
  • We had a great stay at An Teaċ Árd. The whole process was very smooth, the house is beautiful and the location is very convenient for touring County Galway with pubs and amenities all within a 5 minute walk.

  • We had a really good time at the lovely cottage An Teaċ Árd in Dunmore! Pat was super friendly: on our arrival she set of a fire for us, explained all items in the house (everything is brand new) and gave us some nice suggestions for trips in the area. To all our questions she had a fast answer and a good solution. The house is very clean, well equipped, good furnished and the colours in the rooms are wonderful arranged. Dunmore is a good place for starting day excursions (we drove several times to the Connemara Coast, Galway, Cong and Achill Island) and we found the best organiszed leafleat and map collection (divided in citys, areas and countys) we ever saw!! The village itself is tidy, quite small and pretty normal: we just liked that the people are friendly, that there are some good places to eat and that we found everything in the shops we needed. Although the house is in the centre, it is quiet – espacially at the garden site. It was nice and relaxing to sit there and having a look at the friendly (but shy) cats sometimes coming along ...

  • The house is absolutely fantastic. Beautifully renovated and very tastefully decorated and it has everything you need, we felt very, very comfortable. We arrived late and Pat was waiting for us with a fire in the fireplace, it was a warm and cozy welcome. We have made great trips from there and it was very nice to come home to such a comfortable house. Pat, I hope you have only guests who appreciate this beautiful home and treat it with care, so that it remains in such nice condition! Thank you for a great stay

  • We came pretty late but that was no problem for Pat, she waited in the warm and cozy house, showed us around, explained everything we needed to know and was a friendly and helpful host. We had enough informations for things to do around Dunmore, everything was clean and tidy, we didn´t miss anything! Dunmore is a village with everything you need, supermarket, 4 Pubs (we recommend Glynn´s Pub), a castle ruin. A very nice place to stay for longer!

    Helen2016-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic!!! The whole experience was quick easy and simple, from quick responses from emails when booking to lovely roaring fire when arriving. Great information and a well equipped home. Big thank you to Pat Kind regards Mike, Carrie & girls

  • The house was very well furnished and the host Pat was very welcoming and helpful. The house has recently been refurbished the fittings were new and well designed. There was parking in the front of the house and pubs and a supermarket a few minutes walk away. We were a family of 5 and we all enjoyed our stay in Dunmore and hope to return again one day.

  • This was my first experience using Air B&B and thus I was a little hesitant about the whole thing. However my stay at Michelle's home was excellent in every way and both Michelle and her Family made me feel right at home. She is a real ambassador to the Air B&B experience.I would definitely recommend booking a stay with Michelle as her home is perfectly located in a quaint Irish village of Moylough but yet centrally located to many tourist attractions. Her home was spotless and she is an excellent cook.I would recommend either the Irish breakfast or just as good the evening dinner. You would be hard pressed to get a better or more authentic meal in any of the restaurants of Ireland. She has a great husband who is fond of a chat and two adorable kids who will bring a smile to your face.I guess to sum it up You can't go wrong booking a stay at Michelle's B&B...It will be my first choice on my return trip fingers crossed she is not booked out ....!!!!!

  • Michelle is a fantastic host, her husband Colm and children were a delight to stay with. The home is clean, comfortable and very well located. Michelle makes a wonderful full Irish breakfast you shouldn't pass up. They are very helpful in giving direction as to which sights to see and which ones to avoid. We absolutely recommend staying with Michelle and Colm if visiting the Galway area, we will certainly stay there again.

    Margaret2017-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely fantastic! Really enjoyed our stayed here. Michelle and her family were very welcoming and made us feel at home. We would definitely stay here again if we are anywhere near the region. She took a genuine interest and went over and beyond in helping us with her extensive knowledge to help us get the most out of our holiday even though we were moving to another place. The breakfast provided was also very good and set the bar high for our future travels with airbnb. We can't thank you enough!

  • My mom and I stayed with Michelle and Colm for 4 nights. Coming from the US we landed early and Michelle was kind to accommodate a noon check in for my mom to rest. We had two lovely large bedrooms with plenty of storage hangers blankets etc. Michelle always checked on us and was great to provide anything we needed. Even a phone charger that I forgot at home. Her children were so sweet and they were very quiet. Colm was great to give us a hand with our luggage. We were up early and in late and Michelle accommodated when we needed coffee and breakfast. I would stay here again and recommend it to family and friends. The neighborhood is quiet and so convenient to walk to church or little shop. Great side road at church for a walk or run. Everyone will love this home away from home.

  • AMAZING!!! We were welcomed with open arms by the family, even though it was a very late check in, the family still had the energy to foot race each other down the gravel road to the house.... Absolutely adore this family and their home!!

    Jeremy2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • On arrival Orla gave us the key and both Pat and Orla came over to the house and showed us all around. The fire was lit when we arrived and the house was nice and warm. They provided us with fuel for the fire, tea, coffee, milk, bread, butter, egg, cornflakes etc. There is plenty of room inside and outside the house for kids. Orla even let the kids pick apples from the tree beside their house. It was a great experience to see Pat's techniques to move cattle from one field to another. The next evening they came over to ask us how our stay is going. Overall I liked the house and the host and would book the house if I am visiting Galway.

  • Most pleasant stay with Mary. Welcome cup of tea on arrival. Mary has excellent local knowledge as a native of the area. She was most helpful in organising my visit in the area . Breakfast was excellent ! Lovely quiet area close to centre of town and house very comfortable

This 2 bedroom apartment is warm and cosy all year round. Having recently refurbished everything is new . Lots of parking right out front. On the same grounds as the owners house but private enough to be 4 miles away from Tuam town. Oil heating can be used alongside a stove for those cosy nights by the fire. Lots of restaurants, shops and bars in the nearby town with a swimming pool and gym only 4 miles away.
Quiet country setting with secure parking and outdoor decking area on the same grounds as the owners house. Two large bedrooms , one with a king size bed . Modern and clean apartment with a tv and cooking facilities.
Quiet neighbourhood of 5 to 6 large houses . Really private and secure with the owners house right beside.40 minutes drive from Galway city , 1 hour from Shannon Airport and 40 minutes to Knock Airport.
  • This place was ok. It was not what we expected. The worse part was the lack of wifi and bad spiders. We were without wifi most of the time during our stay and it's a bummer since we were gone most of the time. The property looks like it is being updated. It is the only place in Ireland that has no greenery on the land. The price is right though.

Bed in a 5 bed male or female shared dormitory in Holistic Centre adjacent to our house. We also have private bedrooms (please see our other listings). Located in a rural environment, The centre is designed to create a tranquil peaceful setting and is ideal for personal retreat. For this reason there is no TV, radio etc. AMENITIES: Wi-Fi internet access is provided via a mobile broadband connection. Kitchenette. Serviced laundry provided on-site (€5 a wash, €2.50 Tumble Dry).
OPAL is in the heart of a rural part of Ireland, a small village called Donamon, which is approximately 14km outside of Roscommon Town. This makes it a great location for a peaceful and relaxed stay, whilst enabling guests easy access to the town centre. We are also a short drive from a number of great places to visit. Surrounded by countryside and scenic views, the area is steeped in history. Donamon Castle (only a short walk from OPAL) is one of the oldest inhabited castles in Europe, built in the 12th century and now home to the Divine Word Mission. You are welcome to wander around the grounds free of charge. The River Suck is also located nearby and is a great place to picnic or go fishing.
OPAL is situated in the middle of Ireland making it an ideal location as either a place to stay, as a base to visit other areas of Ireland or as a 'stop off' whilst touring Ireland. Local attractions include: Donamon Castle, The Roscommon Arts Centre & Theatre, Roscommon Castle, Castlecoote House & Gardens, Elphin Windmill, Strokestown Famine Museum, Tulsk Heritage Centre and lots more. Athlone (where you can take a boat tour down the River Shannon) and Carrick-on-Shannon (with its Marina) are just two of the many destinations within easy reach from Roscommon.
