American Restaurant

“This is the go-to breakfast spot in town. They have terrific house-made jams and jellies, so when they give you a choice, ask for a sampling. We recommend the hash or their classic southern biscuits and gravy. If you’re there for lunch, be sure to save room for dessert because they are known for their pies. ”

“The menu here is very fresh Tex-Mex. Happy hour is 3-6:00 and it’s easy to make a meal out of the tapas. They have some great outdoor spaces that overlook the San Gabriel River, both for the bar and for the restaurant.”

Steakhouse

“This is our "special occasion" place where we've celebrated birthdays, anniversaries and even New Year's Eve a couple of times. They have an extensive wine and cocktail list and the menu ranges from steak and seafood to elk and ostrich dishes. It's our special occasion place because it's the priciest place on the square, but definitely a more upscale dining experience. ”

“There are several solid Tex-Mex places in town, and this tops the list(in my humble opinion). Classic Tex-Mex flavors, excellent margaritas, TVs for sports, and always an upbeat vibe!”

“Located about 25 north of Austin lies Inner Space Caverns. You and your friends, family, or crew can tour below the ground and explore a natural cavern formed millions of years ago beneath one of Texas' busiest interstate highways. Inner Space Cavern is filled with history, mystery and chemistry! This all season activity caters to large groups and offers one of the most engaging afternoon activities in Texas.”

Lake
“Georgetown's Blue Hole is located just off I-35 and six blocks north of Georgetown's town square, the swimming hole is as easy to get to as it is beautiful. There are many points of entry and lots of places to lie on a floatation device, hang by the rocks or picnic in grass. Blue Hole is great because it has 3 tiers of mini waterfalls and each has its own depth and current for all ranges of swimmers. You could bring a little grill and tent if you wanted. We love it!”
