  • A wonderful perch to sit on when you just need a break from the world....

  • My 8 year old boys and I loved our week at the Loft. It was the perfect home base for exploring Georgetown and surrounding areas. It had everything that we could have wanted for a simple, relaxed, and peaceful week in Georgetown. We paddled out the back door, and enjoyed long days at Reid with a clean and comfortable place to "come home" to. Thank you Francis family!

  • A gorgeous view from a clean, light and air-filled simple, but lovely loft. My little dog and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. And the added bonus of garden tomatoes was a treat. Loved having the kayaks and canoes right there.

  • The loft stay was AMAZING!!!! The view from the loft is spectacular .... and never disappoints.

    Margaret2016-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the loft was wonderful! The Georgetown area is one of Maine's best secrets. It's beautiful and relaxing everywhere you go! We spent a day at Popham and Ried State Park is nearby as well. Bath has a lot of great restaurants and shopping as well. The loft had everything we needed and you can't beat the view! The communication with Ruth before and during our trip was perfect, we met her the day we arrived and she even gave us some fishing tips. We had a great trip and we will be back soon!

    Sarah2016-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Ruth's loft was just the idyllic getaway I was looking for! Incredible views in an inviting space. It was hard to leave and I'm sure I'll be back. I'm sorry I didn't get to meet Ruth but her son was wonderfully kind and hospitable.

    Priya2015-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • The Loft far exceeded our expectations. With its astonishing view and tucked-away quiet, it was exactly what we were looking for in a relaxing summer getaway from the hustle-bustle of New York City. Ruth was helpful and pleasant and friendly from the first, and was accessible if we needed her but never intrusive, and the location couldn't have been better for all we wanted to do in the area: namely go to the beach and eat fresh lobster! We highly recommend Reid State Park, which is very close to the Loft, and which offers stunning scenery and great beaches that are surprisingly not overrun with people. In general, the area is not touristy at all, which is a great bonus. Thanks to Ruth for providing the setting for a lovely vacation. Only sorry that it's over.

    Michael2015-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • Ruth was very helpful and nice! I never met her in person but she left me a voicemail with helpful, detailed instructions and was willing to accommodate my schedule. The place was clean and comfortable. The kitchen space was adorable and the view was amazing!

Built in 2016 on Marjorie Farm's 230-year-old property, the Crow's Nest offers a private, well-appointed retreat in a rustic setting. Enjoy loft-like ceilings and abundant light in this meticulously renovated second floor of our barn. It's a perfect "home base" for solo adventurers, couples, and families who want to take advantage of all Midcoast Maine has to offer while relaxing slightly off the beaten path. Close to beaches, shopping, restaurants, hiking, museums, and farmer's markets.
*** COVID 19-RELATED INFO *** Our cleanliness reviews speak for themselves, but we've also added deep-cleaning procedures with disinfecting wipes in between all stays. We've also implemented mandatory 3-day vacancy periods in between each guest. We're allowing all self-check-ins and maintaining all CDC-mandated rules for social distancing. *** LONG-TERM STAY REQUESTS *** Our (nearly 50%) discounted monthly rate is $1500, and this includes: - All utilities (water, hear, electricity, and backup generator in case of power outage) - Fresh towels and sheets delivered every 2 weeks (we can collect dirty linens also, but will leave them to sit out for 3 days before washing them) - A half dozen fresh farm eggs from our chickens every week (if you want!) - Weekly delivery of groceries / supplies (right now we're going to the store once a week(ish) and are happy to pick up things for our guests at the same time that will be thoroughly disinfected prior to leaving at your doorstep) - Close proximity to a local farm (Goranson, 9 minutes away) for you to purchase fresh produce and other items from - 10 minutes from the town of Bath which, for the moment, is offering a good deal of curbside pickup of takeout food - You'd be welcome to ship additional items here from Amazon, etc. as long as you let us know if/when you're expecting deliveries - Please note at this time we do not have WiFi available for Crow's Nest guests (we are in the process of adding it), but you are welcome to use your own HotSpot (all cellular networks work fine here except Sprint) *** THIS IS A SAFE SPACE *** For you and your family, regardless of race, religion, orientation, gender, or identification...if you come with love, we would love to host you. *** THIS IS A SUSTAINABLE PLACE *** We recycle and compost. We use recycled, non-bleached paper products, reusable cleaning cloths, and as many "green" cleaning products as possible. We follow sustainable permaculture practices for our crops and animals, provide wildlife and pollinator habitats, and cultivate deep relationships with the land. The property’s main farm house was built in 1790—when George Washington was president! Later, the owners expanded the kitchen and added a new section of the house plus the deck. The barn and driveway were then added. In 2015, Nina and Ian bought the property and named it Marjorie Farm (after Nina’s grandmother). Nina’s parents, Beth and John, then built the Crow’s Nest above the barn in 2016. They wanted a place to stay when visiting their two adorable grandchildren. This 500 sq. ft. living space is a perfect size and has everything efficiently laid out! The western-facing windows give excellent light and gorgeous views of the woods. You'll hear country sounds – many different birds, the occasional neighborhood dog, Tikki Tikki Tembo the rooster (and if you're lucky, the donkey down the road), rain tapping on the steel roof, and wind in the trees. You are a short distance from canoeing streams, hiking trails, beaches, restaurants & shopping, historic and tourist sites in Bath, Brunswick, Wiscasset, Phippsburg, Damariscotta, Boothbay Harbor, and more. The property is 4 ½ acres and includes a large planting and livestock field, fruit trees (apple, pear, peach), a garden area (to be developed), chicken coop, horse pasture, wood shed, and forest. Nina’s dad grew up on a farm in Illinois exactly this size and configuration. Nina’s childhood was filled with stories about John’s idyllic life there, and she was determined to have a similar spot of her own. She and Ian searched high and low after moving to Maine and finally found this perfect location. They have many plans for the future here and are glad to be able to share their paradise with their guests. Welcome!

  • The Crow's Nest is a wonderful and beautiful place to stay! It is a comfy loft apartment on their farm. We loved seeing her horses hanging out in their side yard when we drove to or from the apartment. We enjoyed a nice long weekend slightly unplugged from our everyday lives. Nina provided very clear instructions for checking in and out. She kept us informed of a power outage and how that could potentially impact our stay. We all decided to play it by ear and the power came back on before we arrived. I appreciated both her transparency and flexibility as a host. She also provided detailed instructions in the rental manual as well as notes throughout the apartment. I highly recommend staying at the Crow's Nest if you need to make the great escape to Maine!

We have access to the Androscoggin Riverwalk from our yard directly behind the "Ballard Bear".
  • Aloft in The Heights is a beautiful apartment. The pictures don't do it justice as it is much bigger than it in the pictures. It has a small deck where you can sit and watch the river. It has all the conveniences for a comfortable stay. Sandy and Aj are the perfect hosts who enjoy meeting and talking with the people staying at the apartment. We plan to go back again.

  • Repeat trip, as great as the first!

    David2019-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • What a perfect, peaceful getaway. Spectacular view of the river, lovely grounds to roam and relax on, a sparkling clean space, all a quick drive to the amenities of downtown Brunswick. Sandy and AJ were communicative and kind hosts. 10/10, would recommend!

    Abi2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Aloft in The Heights is a simply lovely place to stay in the Topsham/Brunswick area! It is modern, filled with many thoughtful amenities, and the views cannot be beat. It was wonderful to wake up to the beautiful (and inviting) gardens bordering the Androscoggin River. The "Swinging Bridge" that crosses the river is right around corner from the property and can be accessed from a footpath along the river in front of the gardens. What a location! Sandy and AJ were very welcoming, and indeed, the apartment was squeaky clean! We highly recommend Aloft in the Heights and look forward to staying there again!

    Evelyn2019-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • We have been Airbnb-ing for 5 years, have stayed in many types of accommodations in several countries and give honest reviews. So we are happy to report Aloft in the Heights is an exceptional space. The pictures are accurate; the furnishings modern, clean and comfortable; the views wonderful. Technically on the 3rd floor, there is just one flight of stairs to navigate. We appreciated being able to do a load of laundry, cooking steamers, watching some World Cup games (TV easy to work, WiFi as well), wandering a big, beautiful yard, in addition to sight-seeing. We found the Topsham, Brunswick and The Harpswell areas to be delightful. We enjoyed every aspect of our visit, but most of all our thoughtful hosts.

    Barbara2019-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • Aloft In The Heights is truly the perfect place for a weekend getaway with the most thoughtful and helpful hosts. Situated within walking distance to adorable downtown Berwick and on a beautiful property that overlooks the Androscoggin River, Sandy and AJ have created the perfect AirBnB experience. The loft was incredibly clean and modern, and there was great natural light with the option for privacy when desired. We did some of our own cooking and we had everything we needed, and had the option of turning on the air conditioning on a particularly warm and humid day. The loft is beautifully updated and easy to come and go from with a private entrance and close proximity to the highway. We were looking for a relaxing and easy weekend, and that's exactly what we got! We can't wait for our next visit!

    Mary Kate2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Guests can expect incredible hosts in a gorgeous locale! The loft is ultramodern, furnished thoughtfully with everything you need, plus fresh flowers in summer, we’ll-stocked kitchenette, large TV with all imaginable channels ( but the screen doesn’t dominate the space). The river view is incredible, walking the path to downtown Brunswick a pleasurable saunter. You’ll be lucky indeed to stay here!

  • I had booked this stay last-minute, needing a place close to a wedding venue that I was photographing at over the weekend, and it did not disappoint! Being in a rush, I didn't have time to meet with Ted + Linda in-person, but the check-in instructions were very clear and concise and I was able to drop my belongings in the cute loft quickly before taking off once again. The morning of the wedding, I was able to make myself some coffee, a banana with peanut butter, and a Kodiak muffin cup – all of which were generously provided. It was exactly the fuel I needed for the day ahead. During my stay, Linda kept in contact with me to make sure the lights were on when I returned late at night. And when I checked out and forgot one of my shoes under the bed, she even went the extra mile to run to the post office and ship it back to me. I greatly appreciate you, your little home, and your amazing communication through this entire process! Thank you thank you thank you!

    Amber2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Linda’s place was a great location for us to explore Boothbay Harbor. The place was extremely clean, and communication with Linda was a breeze! There are lots of seafood places within minutes, and we enjoyed visiting the many local nature preserves too. Thank you, Linda!

    Susan2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great value for an awesome area! We arrived a bit early and they were very accommodating. The check-in process was awesome and very informative, and the space has lots of nice touches. While we didn’t use it, the kitchen actually has everything you would need and there was a washer/dryer as well. We would definitely recommend!

    Amanda2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Linda's place, as well as Linda herself, is lovely. It's clean, well-organized, and well-outfitted. We didn't spend much time there, but everything we wanted we were easily able to find. Linda greeted us when we arrived and gave us a tour. It's very conveniently located near Boothbay Harbor, and it's a very short drive into town. We would definitely consider staying here again.

    Justin2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Linda and Ted were wonderful hosts and we couldn’t have asked for a nicer experience. The loft was the perfect space for our weekend trip and it was in a convenient location.

    Dane2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great little private spot for one or two people. We used it as a weekend location to compete in the Boothbay Harbor Yacht Club Regatta.... great location!

    Kate2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • I wish I had stayed for more than one night. Boothbay is a quaint little town. There are certainly tourists but it didn't feel overwhelming. Now, I was there Thursday night through Friday morning. I am sure it is different on summer weekends. Linda's place is great and convenient. She had a Keurig with a lot of choices including DECAF coffee and creamer. It was very clean with some extras. It was great having WiFi. I got up early to see the sunrise along the Ocean View path. The sun came up over the houses, not the water. I wish I had also gone to see the sunset the night before in Boothbay. I did go to the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens. I got there right at opening time (9am) when it was still reasonably cool. I wish I had brought insect spray but they did sell it and I bought it! I wish I had gone to the lighthouse that is one the Maine quarter. It begins with a P but I don't have the name available here. If I make it back to Boothbay, I will stay here again.

The Sylvan is the newest addition to the Moorings, set back in a wooded area it is brand new construction with an open loft layout, 3 bedrooms, dramatic stone fireplace and large deck with harbor views. Leaf peepers and holiday stays welcome - all units are fully winterized! PLEASE NOTE: Pool and hot tub are not available November-April
The Moorings is a resort like compound and all rentals include access to indoor pool, hot tub and outdoor tennis court (except during winter months), plus laundry facilities.
Very close to the ocean with ocean views from the expansive deck
  • Clean place, nice location. We had a really nice time and it was perfect so we could be together for a family wedding. We didn’t use the pool or hot tub so I can’t comment on them. Only complaint is the bedroom doors are glass so there is no privacy.

The Loft is situated adjacent to a duplex with quiet tenants.
  • This is a great space. Clean, bright, comfortable, etc. It was perfect for my business partner and I on our trip to the local ship building company. Everything was exceptional, from finding a couple local micro-brews in the refrigerator when we arrived, to a quiet restful place with a beautiful deck, to easy access to the anything in the area, this gets a very glowing recommendation. It's unusual to travel to this part of Maine in January for a vacation, but if you're traveling there for work in the winter as we were, you should seriously consider it. If you're looking for a place for a vacation central point it absolutely works too! There's no question that when I come back for more trips, I'll be checking to see if it's available again.

  • Beautifully designed, sunny space with all the amenities. Lisa was an attentive host and we enjoyed our time at the loft. The rainfall shower is amazing! We would definitely stay again if we needed a place in the area.

There are numerous historical homes and buildings and award winning restaurants including Gather, a farm fresh eatery with ever changing menu, the Royal River Grill house serving exquisite surf & turf, Binga's Wingas, the best wing joint we have yet to try in southern Maine, Romeo's, Pat's Pizza & Otto's, all dine in or delivery sandwiches, pizzas & more, and Bruce's Burritos, a well known burrito joint with some of the best brownies around, and Maples's, the BEST bagels and from scratch baked goods this side of the Mississippi (be sure to get there in the early morning if you want to get a bagel, sea salt are a popular favorite).
  • Erica's loft is beautiful and unique. There are three stories. The main floor has the living room and bathroom. There's an amazing shower, spacious and stone tiled. The kitchen is downstairs. We were in town for a wedding, so we didn't get to utilize it. There is a spiral staircase that leads upstairs to the loft bedroom. The loft gets natural sunlight that is warm, welcoming, and just the perfect way to wake up in the morning. The location is great, just a short 20 minute drive to Portland, and a brewery just a 2 minute walk down the street. I didn't get to check out the brewery, so I guess I'll have to come back!

    Eric2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Erica's place is a great spot for hitting anything from Portland through Freeport and beyond. It is tucked away in a great place in Yarmouth with plenty to do there as well. The space is newly renovated, very clean and well appointed for anything from a short to longer stay, highly recommended!

    Ryan2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very nice one-night stay at Erica's place. Great option close to Portland, where we were spending the day. Very easy to find off the highway, about 10-15 mins from town. Communication and check in/out process very smooth. The place was very spacious (including the huge bathroom and beautiful shower!) and certainly served our needs. I did make the suggestion to include some body wash in addition to shampoo in the shower, and that the bed/mattress could stand to be a little bit more comfy for those who might be sensitive about that. Overall great stay!

    Zach2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • My stay in this loft was exactly what I needed: peaceful, inspiring, comfortable. I appreciated the great communication Erica offered as well as the privacy. My favorite thing was simply staying in a streamlined space that was not inundated with STUFF in every corner, like most AirBnbs are. The minimalistic design of the space definitely put me at ease. I will definitely stay here again when visiting the greater Portland area! :)

    Sharon2019-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy spot with minimal furniture. The loft is a really beautiful feature and we love the spiral staircase.

    Laura2019-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Erica’s place was very clean and in a great location (very close to Portland and right near the highway). She was very quick to respond to messages and even supplied children toys and books for our two little girls which they absolutely loved :) we would definitely stay here again when we come back to the area.

    Breanna2019-02-23T00:00:00Z
