A Spanish oasis in Macclesfield hosted by Eloísa. Enjoy my hospitality in a peaceful, light and welcoming environment. Parking nearby, and you are welcome to relax in the garden... Only 5 minutes walk from the town centre where you can find shops, pubs and public transport . The Peak District is just one step away. Manchester is half an hour by train and offers big city delights. Your home away from home...
Offering you a spacious, bright and well-cared-for double bedroom. The bathroom offers a bath and separate shower. You have access to the living room, dining room and sunny garden. You are also welcome with a party of 3 in which case I offer a second bedroom at a friendly extra cost for the 3rd person.
Beautiful 19th century townhouse in red brick with an ancient milestone in the front garden within the old central quarter of Macclesfield.
  • Prior to my stay Eloisa was fast replying, accurate and reliable. The house was lovely and homely. Also the room was perfect and exactly what the description says. The location was perfect for me also. I would recommend.

    Rhiannon2020-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • I spent 3 weeks at Eloisa’s place and the first thing that comes to my mind when I think about this experience is “HOME”! Yes, “HOME”, because Eloisa is a very welcoming and warm person who makes you feel at easy and home all the time. She loved to interact with me and I loved too. However, she was also respecting my space, giving me the freedom I needed, without being intrusive. When I needed something, ANYTHING, she was there, even before asking! Moreover, she is extremely helpful for reasons that are not money-driven. She is simply an amazing person!!! I had some difficulties during my stay at her place, but she was supportive in all ways possible. Of course, not to mention, a 5 STAR + host. First of all, in our correspondence (before and during my stay), she was always fast in reply, accurate and reliable. The description of her room/house is very true and I swear it, you can expect much more than what is indicated on the website. Her house is impeccably cleaned and extremely cosy. The bedroom is very nice and the king bed simply divine! Eloisa’s house is not far from the city centre and Macclesfield train station (7-10 min max walking). Bus stops are also nearby, as well as supermarkets. Eloisa is an extremely precise, reliable and professional person. Above all, she is kind, respectful and honest. To sum up in a sentence: I have not find simply a 5 STAR + host, but a friend! And, with this, I do not need to add anything else about Eloisa and my stay at her place. Not convinced yet? Try it and you will not regret it, I am sure!

  • Eloisa was a brilliant and very warm-hearted hostess and anticipated every wish we had. Her house is located really close to Macclesfield city center, has a lovely garden, and is beautifully furnished (+ really comfortable bed)! At any time we would come again.

Country Barn conversion. Quiet location , private . On an equestrian property in a rural area. Animals don’t have a lie in so expect to hear them even on a Sunday No WiFi as connections are too slow to use therefore it is not connected due to being a country property and apparently at the end of the telephone lines. Fibre is expected but apparently 2 years away ! Sadly I don’t have time to meet all guests between work, horses, fence fixing and general home so I do apologise

The nearby village of Marton offers a local cafe and delicatessen, Pesto Italian to eat at or for a treat why not try the fabulous French restaurant La Popote. Have a read of the Weirdstone of brasingamen to be able to relate to where you are walking at he edge with the tales of wizards previously there. Main train lines from Macclesfield to Manchester (11 minutes) and London (approx 2.5 hrs)
  • Perfect rural accommodation, ideal proximity if you need to go into Manchester. Feels secluded yet nothing is far away. Very safe and secure, lots of places to walk the dogs. Big enclosed garden. Spotlessly clean and immaculate, lots of extra details like cosy Fleeces for lying on the sofa, a perfect little den for kiddies to sleep and the colour changing nightlight was a blessing as we forgot to bring ours! 100% enjoyable stay, would gladly return and Lorraine a perfect host, always around and easy to contact, but still gave us plenty of space and privacy. Perfect place to stay in all respects, thanks!!

    Rosanne2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely brilliant base for us having family in Macclesfield that we were visiting. The accommodation was much more spacious than I expected and provided lots of room for the three of us (2 adults and a 2 year old). As described the location is remote but it doesn't take long by car to get to the closest towns and the setting is stunning and very peaceful. Despite the temperatures being not much above freezing when we were there the cottage was super warm and the log burner an extra cosy treat. If visiting in slightly warmer months then the fully enclosed garden would be very useful extra space for letting dogs or children run free. As advertised there is no Wi-Fi but we had no problems with phone signal or data signal so (sadly) you can be still connected to outside world if you want / need!

    Lindsay2019-12-16T00:00:00Z

  • My daughter and husband had a great experience staying with Bronwyn! She helped us with a bit of a trip juggle we had to make in the beginning—but B was absolutely accommodating, the room was excellent for value and close to the town center, clean and stylish and comfortable for my grandson as well! Daughter and son-in-law will be staying next week again because they really liked the space :) Thanks for all of your help!

A warm, cosy terraced three storey house on a quiet back street close to Macclesfield Town Centre and South Park
My house is on a quiet street close to the town centre and South park. We are ideally located for journeys into the Manchester, with it taking an hour by car or twenty minutes on the train which is a ten minute walk away. Macclesfield also offers some stunning walking and cycling paths, with the forest, canal and Middlewood way all close by. I have a dog so guests need to be dog friendly, but he's very friendly. I also work from home so spend most of the day in and out. The house is three storey, with the ground floor offering the lounge and kitchen. The first floor is where the guest bedroom is as well as the shared bathroom. The top floor is where my bedroom is located. There is internet available in the house, and the only TV (freeview) is located in the spare room for your personal use. I am out most evenings, and in and out throughout the day. Although privacy is no an issue as I will mainly be on the top floor if I am in in the evening. There is tea and coffee next to the kettle for you to use. My house is great for individuals or couples.
Located on a quiet street with the park and town centre all within five minutes walk. Futher afield, you can discover the stunning scenery around, including Macclesfield forest and the canal.

  • This converted stables is now a snug, stylish and comfortable place to spend a few days or longer. The owners have converted a stables into a beautiful space, with a living area and large kitchen . The bedroom is very comfortable, with lovely new thick carpets and very smart shower room. The whole space was wonderfully warm on a cold weekend thanks to the underfloor heating. It’s set in a very small village, we did not see any shops, in beautiful countryside roughly halfway between Congleton and Macclesfield. We will definitely be returning.

  • Beth was very accommodating to my constantly evolving plans and helped me with an earlier check in that I had originally planned. The room was a nice size and a spacious double bed was comfortable. The bathroom was nice and the shower was okay. Beth was hospitable allowing guests to use wifi and the kitchen like it was your own home, as long as you kept the common spaces clean (which is standard etiquette around someone else's house) she was happy. Beth was happy to lend her bike and maps to guests if you wanted to tour the local area and was happy to give advice about where to go and what to see locally. I had a very limited experience with the host (I was out/busy when she was in and vice versa) but she seemed like a lovely lady and outgoing. Thanks for everything Beth.

  • Beth (and Emma the cat) were both very welcoming, the room is exactly as described, I had a great nights rest. Beth was very understanding of travel arrangements and very accommodating! I'll be sure to stay in I'm ever in the area again.

Possibly the most comfortable bed I've slept in beside my own as well :D Would highly recommend her place to anyone visiting Congleton.

Flat 1, Charles Roe Chambers, is substantial. It is located in central Macc, a vibrant historic market town with thriving businesses 7 days/wk. The flat offers an emperor double bed, twin beds, a high quality metal frame sprung double sofa bed (no sofa bed compares to a full mattress but this is as close as we've found) and a well equipped living area that includes a 7' free play pool table, desk, dining table and kitchen.
My wife and I run the businesses in the next door property, offering finest cafe cuisine, functions and a private GP practice.
Macclesfield has a rich heritage grounded in the production of finished silk products. In addition to the Silk museum and next door Charles Roe House where daily tours are available, there are many excellent cafes and restaurants in the vicinity, a cinema (Cinemac org uk), monthly treacle market (treaclemarket co uk) and other local attractions to consider (visitmacclesfield co uk). As a gateway to the Peak District and Cheshire Plains, Macclesfield has breathtaking countryside, parks, rivers, canals, reservoirs and woodland all on its doorstep.
  • Lovely place to stay recommended to everyone.

  • This place is HUGE! Warm, clean, easy to find, very central, gigantic bed, modern bathroom and kitchen and a fantastic price. My house wasn’t big enough to invite my 2 pregnant couple friends round to eat , nor did I want the hassle of cleaning my own house before hand. as such, this place was perfect. Will stay again without doubt.

    Charlotte2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Central location with parking. A great space to spend time with everything you need - the adult kids particularly enjoyed the pool table. Beware the central position means there is noise from outside; both traffic noise and Domino's deliveries.

Unique, luxury, spacious 4 bedroom cottage in the heart of picturesque Rainow, Cheshire. Sleeps up to 9 comfortably. Perfect for exploring the eastern point of the Peak District and close to the amenities of Macclesfield. The property is a converted pub and dates back to 1810. But has recently been lovingly restored and updated to modern standards, without loosing its natural charm. The property is situated next to the main pub in Rainow, The Robin Hood, which serves hot food through the day.
Recently restored and renovated, extremely spacious character cottage, oozing with charm. Perched on the side of the peak district hills in beautiful Rainow, with magical, open views. Well-equipped for the perfect Peak District stay.
Rainow is a beautiful village and civil parish in Cheshire, England, in the valley of the River Dean and next to the B5470 road between Macclesfield and Kettleshulme. It straddles the eastern side of the Peak District border of Derbyshire and Cheshire. The area is popular among nature observers, walkers, cyclists and para-gliders as well as those looking for romantic stays. The village lies in Cheshire's portion of the Peak District, just North East of the substantial town of Macclesfield; but visitors would never know it, for the hill of Kerridge shields Rainow on the Western side, while to the East, rise some of the highest of the region's peaks - Cat’s Tor and Shining Tor.  The ridge here at “The Tors” marks the parish boundary, (it's a large parish for a small village) and offers wonderful views across the Goyt Valley, with its reservoirs and forests.  Views from Kerridge are no less spectacular, stretching right across the Cheshire plain to the Welsh mountains.  "Rainow" derives from the Old English for "Raven Low" - "low" meaning "hill" in these parts  - and it is an indication of how bleak an environment this would have been in ancient times.  Nevertheless, the village was right at the heart of things, for ancient trackways met here, in the days when ridges were the best places to run packhorse routes; one went North along Kerridge, (literally, "Key Ridge") while an all important route for Cheshire salt ran West-East.  These ancient ways now make for great walking; the Gritstone Trail also skirts the village, while a veritable maze of local paths can take the walker in any direction, to Windgather Rocks, Tegg's Nose, Pym Chair - resonant names for extraordinary places.  At Tegg's Nose Country Park, a few miles South, there is a visitors' centre and a fascinating archaeological trail to follow on foot. The most prominent local feature, (and great short walk destination) is White Nancy, a folly standing at the Bollington end of Kerridge.  Originally the site of a beacon that would have been lit to warn of foreign invasion, the strange, bell-shaped structure was built to celebrate victory over Napoleon, and was a summer house.  Today it is simply a solid lump of a structure, but it has always been painted white.  The origin of "Nancy" is not certain, but may have been taken from the name of one of horses used to pull building materials up the very steep hill. There are numerous ancient standing stones and bronze age tumuli dotted around the area, testament to an unbroken line of settlement, though the village itself did not really get going until the 18th century, when the River Dean was first used to power early cotton mills.  Two of these venerable buildings still stand; Ingersley Vale Mill, built in 1809, was famous for having the second largest water wheel in the country - beaten only by the great Laxey Wheel, on the Isle of Man.  Rainow's prosperity was short-lived, however, as Bollington, only a mile away, had access to the newly dug canal and thus supplies of coal to fuel new, steam-powered mills.  The coming of the railway to Macclesfield did even more to drag the centre of industry away to the West, so that today one would never guess as to the village's industrial past. Coal was mined in the 19th century out of the East side of Kerridge. One of the mines was known as the California drift mine, after one of the local Vare family that had taken part in the Gold Rush there in 1849. The name was shortened to Cali; the stretch of the River Dean that runs along the foot of Kerridge is still known locally as Cali Brook. The Quebec drift mines were dug on the South slope of Big Low, named, again after another Vare family member who had worked in Canada. Quarries are still a feature of the West side of Kerridge, but the predominant view all around Rainow is heavily rural; green pastures, woods and trickling streams. At The Oaks, an area of woodland near Thornsett farm, there is a remnant of the ancient woodland that would have once covered these hills; the oaks in question are Sessile Oak, an upland species, clearly differing from the Common Oak found on the Cheshire Plain. While it may lack shops, the village is blessed with a fine selection of pubs:- on Macclesfield Road, The Highwayman is a traditional 17th century country pub, serving Thwaites bitter and excellent home-cooked food. The Rising Sun offers equally fine ales and  food, while The Robin Hood Inn on Church Brow is open all day for  food and drink, seven days a week.  It has a function room for up to 80 people, making it ideal for large gatherings. At Common Barn Farm there is a tea shop catering for ramblers on the Rainow Ring walkers' footpath.  Jane Osmond's Studio/Gallery at Cesterbridge Cottage, Kerridge End is open to visitors between 10am and 5pm on weekdays. Jane produces original prints, mostly etchings and silk-screens of our local landscape, and teaches the print technique at her studio. For the superstitious, or the ghost hunters among you, the historical records reveal two oddities:- "Two Rainow women, Ellen Beech and Anne Osbalderton, were hanged after the 1656 Michelmas Assizes at Chester for practising "certain arts from which wicked and devilish acts certain people of Rainow fell ill and died"."
  • Great place, lovely size. Fully equipped kitchen. Pub just down the road that serves amazing tapas. Really lovely break.

Charming, 3 storey, beautifully renovated, 1750s stone cottage with picturesque views of the Dane Valley. Wincle, on the edge of the Peak District, is an idyllic village base from which to walk and explore or just relax and enjoy the local hospitality.
This unique property, nestled in the Dane Valley, is a 1750s stone cottage with beautiful views over the river to the wooded escarpment beyond. To the back of the cottage and accessed via steps is a delightful south facing private garden which adjoins farmland, perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine or a pint of the fabulous Wincle beer. The accommodation is presented to a very high standard and extends over three floors. A charming kitchen/dining room with beamed ceiling, contemporary units and an oil fired Rayburn forms the ground floor. The first floor has a lovely sitting room with a cast iron log burner as its focal point and on the next floor is a pretty double bedroom adjoined by a quirky en-suite bathroom (no shower). Every room enjoys fabulous views over the valley. The Ship Inn, moments away, is an excellent pub, extremely popular locally and a comfortable, friendly place to while away an evening. There is a well established microbrewery and a fishery in the village which are both open to the public if you fancy having a pint and catching a trout for your dinner. As well as being a walkers paradise, this area has an abundance of National Trust properties to explore and Chatsworth House only 45 minutes away. Despite the rural splendour, this part of the Peak District National Park is within comfortable driving distance of Leek and other centres such as Macclesfield, Buxton and Congleton which offer a varied range of facilities and exploring opportunities. This is a truly beautiful place for individuals or couples. Come to walk, relax, unwind or use the cottage as a base to explore. This is a lovely romantic setting , fabulous for a birthday or an anniversary surprise for someone special. Please make sure you read the "other things to note section" before you book particularly if you have mobility problems.
Wincle is a pretty village set amongst rolling hills in the South West Peak District. It is popular with visitors because of the beautiful walks, excellent pubs and friendly microbrewery.
  • We had a lovely weekend staying at Dane Cottage. The cottage itself is beautiful and very cosy. We especially enjoyed the log burner. Bath was also a big bonus. Both me and my partner appreciated all the little touches Alison had done to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Love the fact that we could walk from the cottage and we followed the route to Lud’s church which was recommended by Alison. The Ship Inn being only 2 minutes away was also a big advantage. Would definitely stay at the cottage again. Thank you so much Alison ☺️

The cottage has been thoughtfully designed, laid out and equipped emeritus everything you could possibly need. We were very impressed with the use of space and felt it was perfectly suited to our needs. Thanks again Alison, we’d love to come back again sometime!

Beautiful flat in epicentral Prestbury, one of the most picturesque villages in Cheshire. There are a great range of restaurants, bars and country pubs within less than two minutes walk from the flat. The flat has a good sized open plan lounge / kitchen with solid wooden flooring, solid Oak work surfaces, modern decor, and plentiful natural light. Ample parking is available outside or over the road from the flat. If you prefer the train, the station is 5 mins walk.
Hi, our guests say it's a cosy, simple, appealing flat, and it's about 100 metres from the center of the village. It has always appealed as a perfect escape from city life.
The village is generally dominated by more mature but active people. There are no discos, but there are plenty of bars and restaurants "on your doorstep" (to be precise, within around 100 metres). There is a good coop to keep you stocked up.

  • Yew Tree farm cottage is beautifully appointed with a modern kitchen and entertainment facilities. It is love and warm and very cozy at night time. It is in a beautiful remote location surrounded by farmland and it's resident animals. The only noises are the sounds of the farm beasts (including the cockerel in the mornings!), the chiming of the church clock and the occasional rumble of a train over the distant railway viaduct. We found it a beautiful, tranquil spot. It has a large garden with a fabulous view of the Derbyshire Hills in the distance. North Rode is quite remote and a car is necessary for access. If you intend to explore the locale on foot we recommend a good pair of gum boots!

  • We really enjoyed our stay in here. Jerry met us at the cottage when we arrived and had kindly laid the fire for us even though he had a bad case of flu. He made us very welcome and ensured we had everything we needed including milk. Keeping in touch with us in case we needed any help. The location is perfect with lots of lovely pubs within walking distance and if you are feeling adventurous some lovely longer scenic walks. We would stay here again.

Set in the grounds of a picturesque sheep farm in the Peak District village of Wincle. Otter’s retreat is a Visit England 5 star rated, highly specced luxury haven for you to get away from it all.
Wincle is one of the Peak Districts most picturesque villages with wonderful walks on your doorstep, a local microbrewery, a friendly local pub within walking distance.
  • This is the most stunning cottage you could ever wish to find, it is outstandingly beautiful with the most amazing views, and fantastic hosts.

  • We go to a lot of air b N bs but have never been looked after as well as this trip. Really lovely folk & we really appreciate all the effort. Thank you

  • We can’t really do justice to this fame retreat: you will have to book your stay and see for yourself! Otter’s retreat is idyllic: plenty of walks in the area to keep you busy, few great pubs (we recommend the rose and Crown). The cottage is immaculate and has all the comforts you will need and more, the beds are incredibly comfortable and the shower rooms are just what you need after a long day of exploring. We recommend to bring some board games to spend the time reconnecting but Angela and Ian have already a few going there. The special touches of our hosts were incredibly thoughtful and really made our stay super comfortable. Thank you again Ian and Angela 💝

  • You will find Otters Retreat to be a converted milking shed beyond the farmhouse. It has been splendidly done, to a very high standard. The decor and furnishings have been carefully thought out and executed. The bathrooms (showers) are very user friendly. The kitchen is as well equipped as anyone could want! Everywhere was sparkingly clean and there was fresh, home-made cake wating for us together with four fresh eggs and some marmalade!! Hosts Ian and Angela are very charming and helpful - nothing seems to be too much trouble for them. The cottage has limited views (there are barns) but the view that there is of the farm fields, the hills and the hanging stones is spectacular and not to be missed. Locally there is a pub serving food which is acceptable, beer which is better and exudes charm a-plenty. Wincle is in the heart of the peak district and there is easy access to some fabulous walks. Highly recommended!!!!!!

My house is open plan layout with a light and natural feel. To the rear of the property there is a private garden with table and chairs. The decor is modern and minimal and is the perfect base to explore the surrounding areas of the Peak District National Park, Manchester and beyond. I can recommend some great place to eat and drink locally, walks, or climbing spots nearby.
The space is tucked away down a quite crescent in Macclesfield with an off road parking space that is free for you to use.
5 minutes walk from Macclesfield General Hospital and 20 minutes walk from the town centre and train station. This train line has direct connections to Manchester and London Euston.

Welcome to Beartown Cottage, located just a stone's throw from the town centre but just far enough away to avoid any noise! Having just been renovated throughout, the cottage is perfectly placed for your visit to Congleton. The cottage gets its name from the town's nickname 'Beartown' as legend has it that the town's bible was sold to buy a bear! This is the perfect base to explore the history of the region!
A traditional 2-up, 2-down end of terrace cottage, it has a quirky shape which adds to its charm! On the ground floor, you will find an open plan style kitchen and living room. Upstairs you will find a good sized double bedroom, a single bedroom and a shower room. The kitchen/diner has everything you need for a comfortable stay with washing machine, fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster and microwave.
The property is located just a 2-minute walk from the town centre with all the local amenities you would expect from a thriving market town! There are several bars and restaurants well worth a visit!

Our house is close to parks, great views, and the town centre. We are right next to the Peak District so there is a wealth of amazing walks and treks for all abilities. Many reservoirs, country pubs and incredible views. We have a small dog so guests need to be doggy friendly, she's incredibly sweet and very gentle. Our place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, and furry friends (pets).
Beautiful double bedroom on the 1st floor of our house.
Macclesfield has a wonderful array of restaurants, country pubs, quirky cafes and the infamous Treacle Market which takes over the town the last Sunday of every month! Not to be missed if you're here then!

They are such friendly people and they have two lovely dogs who are so cute. For the two months I’ve stayed with them they have treated me with nothing but kindness and I would recommend their home to everyone.

Our apartment is located in Wincle, a small village in The Peak District National Park - a stunning location that is perfect for walking. Within 3 miles of the apartment there are 4 pubs serving great food as well as a micro-brewery, an ice cream farm and a trout fishing lake. The area offers peace and quiet for couples or solo adventurers looking to get away from it all.
The apartment was converted a few years ago in one of our barns. It consists of a large, comfortable, beamed bed-sitting room, a small separate kitchen and a shower room. It is heated by storage heaters and is double glazed. The apartment contains books, games, jigsaws, Freesat TV, DVDs and an iPod with docking station if you fancy just staying in and relaxing.
Wincle and its neighbour Danebridge straddle the River Dane where it separates Cheshire from Staffordshire. Wincle is geographically centred around the attractive St Michael's Church and adjacent village primary school, with spectacular moorland views across to the Roaches, Shutlingsloe and Hanging Stone as well as lush woodland and drystone-walled pastures. Such rich scenery and well-known pubs for eating and drinking, makes Wincle a favourite place for visitors.
  • A little gem nestled in the beautiful surroundings of the Peak District. John and Alison's presence and tips will make your stay a real pleasure... Highly recommended!

  • We had a really lovely stay here. The place is equipped with everything you need and there were lots of lovely extra touches that we really appreciated. We loved the quiet location but that it's also just a short stroll to to the local pub. There are lots of local walk suggestions and the surrounding area is beautiful. I'd really recommend staying here!

  • Getting to the apartment was easy and straighforward, and Alison made sure to send detailed instructions on how to get there. We arrived to a warm welcome from John and the most lively two puppers. The place was super clean and they went above and beyond with tea and milk provided as well as eggs from the chicken on the farm (tasty breakfast!). John provided us a few tips for local activities, there is a lot of info on walks and such covered in the leaflets inside the apt. as well! All in all, a lovely stay in a lovely place. Thanks for having us!

  • Where shall I start..?? We visited the beautiful Peak District this weekend and had the pleasure of staying at The Apartment, Bartomley farm, Wincle. On arrival we were greeted with a warm smile and shown to our accommodation. It was a beautiful apartment set amongst the most stunning greenery with amazing views from every window. The photos don't do it justice, the bedroom was bigger than expected, separate kitchen, lovely bathroom with an exquisite Neals Yard Bee lovely hand wash which smelt divine. It was evident that our hosts, Alison and John had really taken care of our needs. Actually above and beyond as they had provided breakfast, milk (which we forgot to bring), Wincle wine & beer, shampoo n conditioner, snacks, jam, games, dvds and walking wellies and lights. You don't expect all this from a self catering bnb but yet they had done so and it didn't go unnoticed. The accommodation was stunning, you are a very short walk from 2 local pubs and the hosts are more than happy to advise you in anything to make your stay pleasant. We really enjoyed our stay with you and will recommend The apartment to our friends and family.

Only thing we didn't realise was just how close it was to next door's garden, if anyone would've been in the garden they could've seen straight in. Luckily there wasn't a soul in sight 😊👌

Shepherd's Crook is a delightful heated shepherd's hut in a private rural landscape, on it's own and within it's own stone circle that is not overlooked and has the most wonderful views over the Dane Valley. It has a large quality double bed, kitchen with a microwave, induction hob, fridge, Belfast sink, toaster, slow cooker, Foreman grill, and radio. Shower room with toilet and sink. Hot and cold water. It is a short walk over the field to the local pub where excellent food is served.
Wincle is a most beautiful village in the Peak District with lots of walks, eating places and things to do. Our Shepherd's Hut is private, not overlooked and has the most wonderful views over the Dane Valley. The hut has been fitted out to a high specification and there is a large private area outside.
A shepherd's hut in a wonderful part of the Peak District.Fantastic views of the Roaches and the Dane Valley. Private and not overlooked.Sleeps two. It is a short walk to Wincle micro-brewery. Accessibility to all of the Peak District, to Chester, Manchester and the Potteries and Manchester airport is all within 1 hour drive.
  • My partner & I booked to stay at the Shepard’s Hut for a little getaway from our busy lives & a rough past few months & wow it has done the job! Much, much more than we expected. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the lovely Ian with complimentary wine, fruit cake & fresh eggs which were all lovely! There was even a fresh rose in a vase. The decor & attention to detail was superb, with no faults what so ever. There really has been a lot of thought put in to this place. We both felt so cosy & at home (would even go as far as saying it felt more homely than our home!). Even in the middle of winter, it was lovely & warm. There’s a summer house which is even suitable for winter with a heater & blankets in which is perfect to sit in & enjoy the views with a cup of tea & breakfast in the morning. We were seen off by Angela who is one of the nicest ladies we have come across & made us feel so welcome there. We didn’t want to come home today but we will 100% be booking again in the future. Hopefully in the summer time. Absolutely recommend any couple looking for a relaxed little getaway to book here. Money well spent.

    Alexandra2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • This little house is absolutely perfect. We arrived to fresh butter and eggs and an amazing fruit loaf set out for us in a perfectly appointed space. It is finished beautifully and has absolutely everything you could possibly need and more - from pristine pots and pans to a comfortable bed to binoculars to look out at the incredible view. The outdoor seating, BBQ and summer house were the icing on the cake - we had fresh trout from a nearby fishery (walkable!) and cooked them outdoors on the BBQ. We also had a really lovely time exploring around the house on the public footpaths. To complete the experience our hosts Angela and Ian were absolutely lovely, so kind and so helpful with tips on local eateries. This has been one of my favourite Airbnb stays to date (and there have been a lot!). I could not recommend it more!

  • A beautiful little spot under trees and next to a quiet little stream. A 3 minutes walk to a lovely gastropub with great food. Mike was a lovely host - nothing was too much trouble. We were blessed with great weather too. The accommodation itself is basic to say the least, but that is exactly what we wanted. The bed is quite small, however weighing in at 6'4" I didn't have too much issue getting a comfy night. Would certainly recommend this pod for a rustic, no frills night.

We messed around with times as we got caught in traffic and then forgot to print our show tickets so Louise very kindly did it for us. Nothing was too much trouble. The land pod itself is just like the pictures. It’s a small space but perfect place to just get your head down. It’s very peaceful, there’s a little babbling brook running close to the pod and beautiful scenery. Mike and Louise suggested a pub a stones throw away for breakfast which was fab! They also suggested a stop off at a local village or Chatsworth House on our way home. We took their advice and did both! Thank you so, so much for having us. We had the most amazing time and would highly recommend the land pod and the camping facilities!!

Stunning views over the Cheshire plain. The bedroom and bathroom on the lower level. The kitchen is fully equipped with a full-sized cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, kettle, and Nespresso coffee maker (pods supplied). There is comfortable seating in the lounge area, a round dining table and four chairs for relaxed dining. Colour TV, DVD player, and a wood burning stove. On the lower level is a double bed, wardrobe space and a bed settee can be converted to a bed.
I am working to be environmentally friendly in all I do and encourage your active participation by reducing and Recycling: Food-waste (not meat or fish) can be composted and there is a bin by the side of the ramp, use the paper sacks provided. The grey Council bins across from the car park are for mixed recycling (glass, plastic, cardboard, aluminum foil, cans, and tins). The black bins are for waste that can’t be recycled (plastic bags, plastic wrapping, sweet wrappers, black plastic, dog waste bags, etc.) There are multiple use shopping bags in the apartments. Please leave newspapers in the apartment as we use in compost. On sunny days please air-dry washed clothes on the clothesline (pegs in the washroom cupboard). No smoking is permitted in or around the properties.
FARM I am converting this old subsistence hill farm of 4- hectares (10- acres) into a wildlife area, and it adjoins the 81- hectares (200- acres) Tegg’s Nose Country Park, so we act as a wildlife source for the Park. The general area has much monoculture grass, grown for silage so devoid of wildlife. In the field across from the apartments we are creating a wildlife meadow that will be the larger and highest in the Peak area. The UK has lost 97% of its wildlife meadows in 100 -years. The 18- metre by 14- metre nature pond created in the farm garden also the largest pond at this elevation in the area. You can see the pond dipping results below, it was –very challenging on a hill – so we added swales to keep water longer on the land and form a different nature habitat. There is an orchard in the lowest field plums apples and nuts. The wind is a challenge and we use a willow windbreak. The single oak there is at least 250 -years old. All of the (seven species) hedges have been planted, and with dry stone walling replacing the barbed wire. This walling also provides habitat. A kestrel is often seen hunting over the top hedge. We manage the land using non-certified vegan organic permaculture: this is no chemical, “no- dig” using old straw mulches on top of cardboard, and we produce compost on a grand scales so your box helps. The garden is being converted to a Forest Garden which means a combination of plants and trees to provide food.
  • I stayed in Jan's place for 2.5 weeks and loved it. What a beautiful place to stay. Peaceful and quiet, with amazing views, yet very close to Macclesfield. The fireplace is cosy, it's fully equipped and actually felt very luxurious. There are some friendly chickens just to add to the atmosphere. Lovely walks on your doorstep. I'd highly recommend it.

  • Cosy apartment with lovely views over the Cheshire plain.Had everything we needed. Great walks with stunning views right from the doorstep.

  • Jan’s place is an incredible spot, with amazing views and Teggs Nose Country Park only a stile away. There is easy parking with fanstastic facilities. The cottage was so cosy and full of character with everything you could need. After a day on the hills it was bliss to come back to the cosy log fire and snuggle in for the evening. Pure bliss and I can’t wait to come back!

  • Lovely barn conversion situated 900 feet above the Cheshire plain, in a small cluster of other buildings. Great for hillside walks, and feels very remote, but only 5 minutes drive to the edge of Macclesfield.

  • Absolutely beautiful house with so many quirky touches! Was blown away by all the decor and would absolutely love to live in a house like it! Location is great! Was unfortunately ill during my stay and could barely walk but managed to have a walk across the street to a couple of shops and restaurant so the town is very easily accessible from the house! Laura was so friendly and so easy to contact when we had a question! Would love to visit again in the future and see more of the town!

    Michaela2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Like nowhere I have ever stayed in before. Outstandingly decorated throughout with some real homely touches! Lots of local shops and places to visit. Just like the pictures and who can resist a huge bath in a huge bedroom!! Thank you for having us!

  • Wow. This is the most beautiful AirBnB, in the very heart of Macclesfield. Exquisitely decorated and yet still somewhere that you feel you can relax/be "at home" in. I live in Macclesfield (just had to move out for a few days whilst we had major building works going on) and so can confirm that the listing is very accurate and Laura's recommendations for local things of interest are exactly what we'd have recommended too. An absolutely gorgeous place, stay here if you possibly can!

    Francesca2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful spacious house with a lot of personality. Laura was very welcoming and allowed us to check out later in the day. Would definitely use again.

The Loft on the Green in Bollington is a light, bright and luxurious apartment with its own entrance in to a flag stone hallway and a lovely roof terrace. Right in the centre, near a pretty green, and very close to the popular Lime Tree restaurant, casual dining at Tapa, or the lovely Green cafe.... and of course there are great pubs in Bollington too.. Situated on the edge of the Peak District, surrounded by stunning countryside.
When it's cold outside throw a log on the fire and put your feet up. In the summer you can sit on the roof terrace and relax with a gin & tonic - made by my cousin at Honey Spirits.
There are so many great places to eat and drink in Bollington Either watch the boats float past as you enjoy a full English at the Waterside Cafe, or some fine dining at the Lime Tree restaurant just across the road from the Loft.
  • Beautiful apartment, great location and easy communication. Would definitely stay again. Thank you for having us.

  • Had a lovely stay. Really impressed with the full kitchen. Wish I’d known there was a nespresso machine beforehand as it’s useful to know if you’re a coffee drinker! (Which I am!) Nice little touches with ample tea, coffee, sugar, milk etc.

  • Deborah was such a great host during my stay and had thought of everything I could need, even starting a fire for my arrival. Would definitely recommend for those wanting a luxury stay.

  • Great host who was always keen to help. Albert her dog was great and would be no bother to anybody who did not like dogs. I love dogs anyway. Not much parking availability but Megan was always helpful. The location could not be better for visiting Macclesfield with the town centre on your door step and within walking distance if coming by train. Hive heating control to give a boost if you needed it was easy to use.

  • Louise was a great host. Communication was excellent. She and her family offered warm and friendly hospitality. Breakfast was included (thanks for the porridge) and I was kindly allowed to part my bike in the house. I would highly recommend.

  • Louise and Mike are fantastic hosts. Very welcoming and helpful when we asked about local food and walks etc. Communication was very easy and the check in process was great. Would highly recommend staying when in Macclesfield :)

    Hannah2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Communicating with Louise prior to my arrival was very easy and I was warmly welcomed when I arrived. At the same time I was given the space I wanted and felt at ease to use the facilities as I needed. The suggestions given of where to go locally where helpful, particularly as I was only staying one night so did not have much time to discover things for myself. The best part though was that, unknown to me, Louise was a holistic therapist. I had an amazing treatment from her and would recommend her.
