  • I booked this site due to the proximity of the factory i would be working at for this week. I am an equipment rep and sometimes must travel for my customers needs. Found the cottage very tidy and it was my best weeks sleep away from home in years. Steve and his family have a tiny slice of Heaven for their home, and I am thankful they were willing to share with me for a week.

  • The cabin is about a 25-minute drive from Gettysburg. It is set amid beautiful countryside and there is a lovely big pond right next to the building. Plus horses in an adjacent field! The cabin itself is well equipped and has all of what you would expect in a rustic setting (shower, no bath) and is very quiet and comfortable.

  • We felt very welcome.

    Lucy2015-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • Steve was a great host; friendly and accommodating. The cottage was exactly as described and the farm was even more beautiful than expected. I just wish I had planned to stay longer.

  • A great place to escape the 24/7 connected world! Rustic but with plenty of creature comforts (A/C, satellite TV, plenty of bed space). Laura came to welcome us in person even though we were significantly early to arrive / check-in. Plenty of activities to do on site -- swimming pond, campsite, horses, fruit farm... Can easily spend 2-3 days relaxing.

    Zhenqing (Steve)2016-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • All I can say is wow! The scenery is just beautiful. The farm is tucked away from the main road; its very private. Steve is so kind and opens up his farm for you. He does a great job at making you feel at home. He let us pet his adorable horses and told us that we were free to walk around. There is a lovely pond and trail that you can explore. For an added yet small cost, Steve also offers horseback riding lessons. We were only there for one night so we were not able to take him up on the offer but I'm sure it would be great. We will definitely take some lessons when we return. The inside of the cabin is cozy. It has a full kitchen along with a living room with a tv. It is stocked with movies and dvds. The bed was comfortable; we got a good nights sleep. There is also a bunk bed in the room which is great if you're traveling with family. We had a great time and would love to return soon. We highly recommend Steve and his farm!

  • Steve's place is a beautiful retreat! We loved the peaceful pond, horses, and amazing view of the stars. It was the perfect place for a friend reunion.

Come enjoy East West Equestrian Arts' lovely hidden valley view, exotic horses and rare fainting goats. Streams, wildlife and quiet country roads in the heart of orchard country. Convenient to Philadelphia, DC, Baltimore, Annapolis, Gettysburg, Hershey USA. Space sleeps 4 adults, meal delivery available. Pets & children welcome. Bring your horse for bodywork and riding. Horse, goat, poultry and farm activities.
Most of our guests come to meet the only Jilfan Sitam Malabar black Arabian horses in the world (think Black Stallion) and other heritage livestock. We encourage guests to find East West Equestrian Arts on popular social media to the current seasonal farm activities, such as gathering firewood, building fences, logging, picking fruit, collecting nuts and hunting morel mushrooms. Guests enjoy a furnished ground floor apartment with covered porch, parking, picnic table and firepit. Inside, the simple fully furnished guest quarters include a bedroom with full bath (access from inside the bedroom) and a living area. The bathroom is original 1950s with a concrete floor/enameled metal shower, small wall hung sink. No bathtub. The apartment includes a coffee maker, dorm refrigerator, and microwave. Coffee and tea are included. No kitchen sink, no dish washing in the bathroom sink. Limited disposable picnic supplies are provided, enough for 1 meal per guest per day. Meals are available for delivery from local eateries with prior arrangement. On site wi-fi. Cable TV is on-demand Netflix, NOT an assortment of cable channels. Air conditioning window unit in summer. Guests are welcome to enjoy the property, and pets may join you outside of livestock enclosures on leash. Guests are encouraged to join the farm activities, work with the horses, pet goats, help with chores, and learn about farm life. The property dates back to the 1950s, and has the quirks and character you would expect in an older home. This is a working farm in a rural setting, so please expect the sounds, smells and critters of country farm life. Spring peepers, crickets, cicadas, roosters crowing, horses and goats calling a greeting, and local wildlife hooting or barking are all sounds to expect. Depending on the season and local farm activities, you may smell freshly turned earth, compost, mowed grass or other farm odors. You will always smell wood smoke. There are bugs on a working farm too. We are an organic operation, so there will be lady bugs, flies, ants, honey bees, spiders and other insects in the yard (and yes, they may occasionally follow you into the apartment. If that occurs, simply text us and our staff will promptly remove them). The livestock and property are guarded by working Great Pyrenees. Their job is to scare away dangerous animals by barking, and then physically removing them if necessary. There may be dog barking during the night or early in the morning. We allow and encourage this, because that is part of their job. The dogs split their time between the livestock areas, the private side yard and the second floor private residence. Guests have a private covered porch and front yard. The lower front yard is shared with the airbnb cabin. Guests in both airbnb spaces share the large firepit and picnic table. Firewood from the woodpile is $7 per night, billed via airbnb at the end of the stay. Guests may provide their own firewood. Free firewood gathered on site by the guests is at the host's discretion and not guaranteed. Please ask before your stay if firewood gathering will be possible. The airbnb cabin is located in the shared front yard. Never experienced a farm before? Please ask us for details. Bring a pair of boots and clothes that can get dirty if you plan to join us with the animals and farm activities.
The neighborhood is a quiet, lightly populated farming and residential community in the heart of the Adams County apple orchard country. The area is rich with Civil War history. See the guest notebook for local maps and restaurant menus.
  • Exactly as described. Wished we could stay longer. She was the perfect host. Thank you!

  • Quiet, peaceful, and meaningfully secluded which was what we wanted. The drive in was beautifully lined with fruit orchards and winding roads. PA's landscape is mesmerizing. Appreciated her willingness to let us interact with the beautiful horses.

    Gordon2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet, secluded location, simple acceptable lodging. Highlight would be meeting the animal residents of the farm.

    Kathy2017-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Carrie was such a lovely hostess and her farm is gorgeous. It was a wonderful place to get away from it all while only being a 20 minute ride into Gettysburg. The animals are such a treat! Looking forward to staying here again.

    Ashley2017-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • This was an exceptional place to stay. The fireflies at night were faboulous and the quiet away from the hustle and bustle away from the city and noise from the jets was very enjoyable. The tour of the horse farm with the horses and goats by our hostess was very informative and enjoyable. You could see our hostess believes in what she is doing.

  • We had a fantastic weekend off the grid in Carrie's cabin, nothing fancy but all that we needed. It was great to fall asleep to the sounds of the creek and to wake up to sounds of the woods and the farm. We especially enjoyed meeting all of the goats and horses. We'll be sure to be back!

    Merra2017-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • A truly beautiful place to spend a few days. I highly recommend it.

    Ryan2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • The horses graze, the chickens scratch, the rooster crows around in back. The sky is wide and the clouds are tall, and peace abides around it all. The goats slip out beneath the fence; claim they did it all with common sense. The morning mist through poplars rise, the hawks circle round up in the skies. The owls share hoots up on the hill, when night is dark, and all is still. When sun is out the kids can play, the ducks prefer a rainy day. Carrie's nice, but busy though, around the clock she's on the go. As a host she's one of the best, may the Lord give'r a little more time to rest. If ya get a chance, c'mon 'n stay, and while a few peaceful days away.

    Richard2017-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Staying here felt more like a transaction than staying in someone's home. The cabin and surrounding areas were beautiful, but Carrie seemed preoccupied with the farm activities. I'd love to stay here again when I have more time. Also, you shouldn't stay here if you're afraid of bugs or using a Porta-potty.

    Shannon2017-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Such a tiny paradise! We spent the night by the fire, and got the best nights sleep I've ever had away from home. So peaceful and beautiful. Carrie was a sweetheart, and her animals were charming. There will definitely be a return trip. :)

    Saara2017-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Loved meeting the horses, and the cabin is simple and charming. Big thanks to Carrie for her farm tour and hospitality. Hot hot shower was nice too.

    Jessica2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Carrie's was great and better than we were hoping for. We were looking for a step-up in camping and that's what we got, plus some pretty great access to the horses, fainting goats, chickens and goats on her working farm. Our 3-year-old and a couple of baby goats had fun chasing one another. Beautiful surroundings and a 20-minute trip to Gettysburg. The cabin is no-frills but has a comfortable bed, which is the step-up in camping I was really looking for. She's working on getting an outdoor shower in the works, and a sink, which will be nice. The Port-a-Potty was clean. Everything was clean, really, despite the fact that we had some significant rain. Picnic bench and fire pit to round out the "camping" experience. We'd recommend this adventure especially to other young families, Carrie was a great hostess and we hope to be back.

    Dana2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Carrie's place was incredible! It was gorgeous & so peaceful! We loved being around all of the animals :)

  • Charles and his family were lovely hosts. We enjoyed staying in their beautiful house and enjoying all the views. Breakfast was amazing and the conversations were equally enjoyable.

    Katie2016-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Charles and his family were wonderful hosts! The room was clean and organized. Breakfast was delicious. I highly recommend staying in this lovely home!

    Tatyana2015-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay with Charles and family was a wonderful experience. The house just outside of the small town of York Springs sat on a small crest overlooking the beautiful countryside of southern Pennsylvania. Charles and his wife were gracious hosts, making us feel like part of the family. The evening conversations on the porch were a nice way to end the day. We were treated to a tasty and healthy breakfast in the mornings, with all the care of homemade juice and jam from the farm, fresh eggs, and the best French toast I've ever had. Our stay was quite unique, intelligently stimulating, and will make a lasting impression. I'm very happy that we chose Apple Haven Farm.

    Mark2015-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • The hilltop location is stunning, the collection of farm animals charming, and the quality of the homegrown fresh produce served at breakfast beyond reproach. Charles is as courteous as he is fascinating to talk to, and staying with him and his family, even for just one night, was a unique experience never to be forgotten.

    Dan2015-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Our hosts, Charles and Cecilia Borowsky, were welcoming and charming hosts on their 4-acre hilltop farm. They, and their family, are erudite and talented people, all musicians who play around the world and have cd's on (URL HIDDEN) It was unexpected, and interesting to be so welcomed into their home and to learn about their experience living all over the world. They want to interact. Their farm overlooks a beautiful and lush valley. They have a vineyard and make their own wine, which they served nightly. Delicious. They have orchards and make their own jams, and serve also their own fruits and vegetables at sumptuous breakfasts. They have chickens, sheep and lambs. The setting is paradise like, quiet and serene. The family and closeness to nature induces reflection. The room is comfortable and spacious. There is a sauna. The one thing that they could improve is that the jacuzzi-like tub has a shower handle, but the controls are difficult for a novice to master, giving scalding hot water. This necessitated washcloth body washing. They offered to let us use their shower upstairs, although we did not avail ourselves of this kind offer. All in all, a very memorable time with the unusual Borowsky's. A most gracious host and hostess. In an enticing setting they have created. Richard Margolies

  • We had a wonderful stay. This is a beautiful area. The breakfast was wonderful. Emanuelle was very kind and accomodation.

    Debby2015-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our overnight stay. The suite was large and comfortable and the view spectacular. What we enjoyed the most though was having a delicious breakfast and delightful conversation with our hosts, Charles and Cecylia, prior to our departure. We will return.

    Ernie2015-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was just perfect. Charles and Cecilia were friendly, open, and accommodating. Our conversations over morning breakfast and evening wine are some that I will cherish for a lifetime. The space was pleasant, clean and well-organized. We would have loved to spend more time roaming the grounds and meeting the rest of the animals and we wish that the skies would have been clearer so we could have done more stargazing. The location is within a half an hour to forty minutes of both Hershey and Gettysburg, so it was perfect for our travel needs.

  • I give Jim a 5 star rating. He was accomodating, quick to respond to every inquiry, and the perfect host. He met us at the door, carried our bags, offered us cold drinks, fresh fruit and had the frig stocked with more than I imagined. More than the amenities I mentioned was his warmth and hospitality. I have stayed at many B&B's but his is the BEST! His home is clean, comfortable, great location and he gave us directions to a great restaurant and ice cream shoppe. I highly recommend this B&B.

Located just 10 minutes from Gettysburg Battlefield, "Harvest Fields Farm" is the perfect place to relax and getaway. Spend time exploring Gettysburg or just enjoy the view from your balcony. There is always something to do and see in this beautiful county.
We are a small farm located in Gettysburg, PA. While you are visiting us feel free to visit the barn and say hello to our equine residents. All the horses on our farm are therapy horses and love to have people say "hello!" We have three dogs and a cat that you will see roaming around the farm as well. There is a small fire pit outside that you are welcome to use as well!
Harvest Field Farm is located 8 minutes outside of town. It is a perfect little alcove away from traffic and busyness. It is a straight shot into town where there are tons of restaurants, coffee shops, and shopping areas. There is a lot to do in our little town!
  • Brandy's place served as a middle meeting place for me and my friends. Brandy lives on a beautiful scenic horse farm! It is a nice get away, yet only about 10-15 minute drive to the battlefield and downtown Gettysburg. The place was clean and had enough room to sleep 4. The bathroom is separate (down stairs) and private for guests! They had snacks and extra toiletries available. They were quick on communicating. I would recommend Brandy's place to other travelers!

  • Highly recommended! Wonderful hosts and great communication - every question I had was answered very quickly. Beautiful setting and convenient to Gettysburg. The living room and bedrooms are upstairs, with a balcony and nice view of the farm. The bathroom is just at the foot of the stairs. The hosts provided games - we enjoyed playing Horse-opoly after a day touring the battlefield. We enjoyed our stay very much!

  • Fantastic host, everything was just as described on the net. Next time in town, i would stay at their farm once again.

  • My girlfriend and I along with two friends stayed at Brandy's for two nights in July 2017. We were in two to participate in a vintage base ball tournament and needed somewhere to stay that was an easy commute to downtown Gettysburg and the battlefield. Brandy's farm is a few miles from the town square (a pleasant 12 minute drive). The farm is beautiful and the apartment we stayed in was very comfortable. There were yogurts, bottles of water and coffee there for us which was a nice touch. We didn't actually get to meet Brandy but dealt primarily with Anna who was very responsive. When I asked if we could check out 2 hours after we were supposed to she said yes. Will definitely stay here again next time we visit Gettysburg.

  • Our stay was relaxing and spacious! We really enjoyed not having a tv and instead enjoyed playing board games (that were there for our use) as a family.

    michelle2017-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome experience! Kind folks and a beautiful area to stay in for our family trip to Gettysburg!

    Kristin2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was exactly as listed, with a great view of the farm property. The check-in procedure ran very smoothly with Anna. We were in town for an all-weekend soccer tournament, so we enjoyed the quiet when we came back to spend the evening. Downtown Gettysburg was a very short drive (10 mins.) if you want to experience the city. We loved to visit with the horses in the barn. The treats were very well appreciated and we did make use of the micro-fridge to give our cooler a break! We will definitely look to stay here again when we are in the area!

    Rob2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • A quaint space that was very clean and well maintained. Location was just outside Gettysburg and extremely convenient. Beautiful sunrise, horses, dogs, and...donkey. We were welcomed, given some good advice on what to see in the area and were always taken care of when needed. We would certainly recommend and stay again.

Jewel of a Cabin is located on five secluded acres in the mountains outside of Gettysburg, PA and is fully furnished with everything you need for a relaxing stay. The cabin is close to two state parks and is minutes away from Micheaux State Forest, the Appalachian Trail, and Long Pine Reservoir. Guests will love all the hiking, biking, fishing, and kayaking opportunities. History enthusiasts will love exploring Gettysburg or just relaxing on the peaceful porch and enjoying nature.
We love providing a peaceful retreat for our guests. We have owned this cabin for over 35 years and I spent all my childhood summers here. We love our cabin and take pride in offering a clean, serene space for our guests to enjoy. Jewel of a Cabin in located in the beautiful mountains of Adams County, PA, affectionately known as "apple country" because of the numerous apple orchards that dot the landscape. The cabin is lovingly maintained and has two bedrooms, both with queen beds, and one bathroom. We hope you enjoy the vintage handmade quilts and art from nearby Amish country. The eat in kitchen is fully equipped and open to the living room. There is a sleeper sofa and two super comfortable recliners for enjoying the beautiful view of the woods or watching a movie. There is also a large screened porch with plenty of seating and a picnic table. Outside is a grill and outdoor table and seating. The only thing you can see from the porch and house is woods on our property. In back of our cabin are acres of woods and then apple orchards. It's very private and peaceful yet still a short drive into Gettysburg (20 minutes). Our guests enjoy hiking, swimming, fishing, bird watching, and learning about the history in Gettysburg and in the two nearby state parks--Pine Grove Furnace and Caledonia State Park (10 min). Both parks were the site of iron works and were built in the 1700s. Kayakers and fishermen will love Long Pine Reservoir (10 min), and families will love biking the Shippensburg Rail Trail (20 min). There are hundreds of miles of mountain bike trails in Micheaux State Forrest (5 min). Our guests also enjoy Liberty Mountain Resort (30 min) and Hersey Park (1 hour). One unique aspect of our property is that not only does it sit on 5 beautiful acres, it's located on a private one mile gravel road that loops to the main road. Across the main road is Pebble Lane, another quiet gravel road that loops around. This means that without getting in the car there are opportunities for walking or jogging. Road bikers will love all the biking possibilities on the quiet, low traffic roads in the area. Civil war enthusiasts appreciate the convenience of Gettysburg located 20 min from the cabin. In addition to the history, Gettysburg offers numerous shopping and dining opportunities. Check out the guidebook for some of our favorite spots. There are also many wonderful local attractions for you to enjoy. Hauser Estate Winery is 5 min away. South Mountain Fairground is also 5 min away. Enjoy the summer carnival in early August or the fall Apple Harvest Festival the first two weekends in October. Yellow Hill Farm is 10 minutes away and is a wonderful place for picking blackberries, raspberries, and flowers. If you play golf, Piney Apple Golf Course is a 5 min drive.
Our cabin is located in the mountains 20 minutes outside of historic Gettysburg, PA. Nestled off a private gravel road and surrounded by acres of woods and apple orchards, the cabin is a wonderful retreat for adventurists, couples, retirees, and families.
  • The cabin was clean and comfortable and a reasonably priced option to the expensive hotels in Gettysburg. Plus you get two bedrooms and a kitchen with all cooking essentials. It takes 20 to 30 minutes to get to the battlefield but was well worth it!

    Carolyn2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • We loved everything about this cabin and hope to come back for a longer stay. Kristen was available for questions and her guide book was very helpful. I highly recommend this place!

  • Kristin is a great host, very communicative and open. She does the utmost to make your stay comfortable. We loved the cabin in the woods, the quiet surroundings. Great spot if you want to visit Gerrysburg or the lakes nearby. We had a wonderfull stay in the Jewel Cabin, Thanks Ullrich familie for having us.

  • This is a well located cabin close to hiking and the history of the area. It is very clean and very much takes you back in time. Very quiet and serene.

    Jim2017-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Our group was 4 adults. We all loved the cabin. Such a beautiful lush location, nice sitting areas inside and out. The cabin itself is spacious, plenty of dishes, silverware, pots, pans, etc. Really nice BBQ pit and area. We used it several times. Short drive to Gettysburg. Kristin was so easy to work with and very responsive. This was my first Airbnb experience (have used (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) many times) and everything went smoothly. Of course, the key with these services is the owner and Kristin was one of the best I have dealt with. We ate at 3 of her restaurant suggestions. The Pub Grill in Gettysburg - great casual food, reasonably priced. Fidler and Company - fantastic food and you can bring your own wine, which we did. And on our way out, breakfast at the Apple Bin which was very good and we really enjoyed our waitress - fun and good at her job. We would definitely stay here again and you can bet that I will recommend Kristin's cabin to anyone looking for a place in the Gettysburg area. Thanks Kristin for such a wonderful time!!

    Linda2017-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • Kristin was a great at sending us all the info we needed well in advance, and the cabin was very cozy and comfortable in a quiet and serene surrounding. We were only a 15min drive to the trails in Michaux and 20min to Gettysburg, which made the location ideal for us. We definitely look forward to coming back soon!

    Bo2017-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • This is a well equipped country cozy cabin in the midst of breathtaking apple orchard country! There's raspberry picking this time of year (yum! Great sauce for pancakes!) and plenty of apples for a fresh baked apple pie. All you need has been thought of. For cool restaurants and shopping, besides enjoying the historical aspects of Gettysburg, it is just 30 minutes away. Would definitely lease this roomy, cute, clean and private cabin again! Kristin has been a great host!

  • Cozy, clean and homey, our 2-night stay was delightful. We had activities in the area during the day so only had late nights and early mornings at the cabin. The cabin warmed up quickly upon arrival, the kitchen and laundry were all in working order. Would love to come back and spend more time hanging out in this beautiful spot!

  • A great place to set up for exploring Gettysburg and enjoying the pool after a hot day at the reenactments. Location is just a few minutes outside of the town center. My kids loved the pool which we had to ourselves and Barbara keeps it very clean. The bedroom lacks windows but great if you want to sleep in. Barbara has thought of everything and this has everything you would need for an extended weekend stay or longer. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone interested.

    Henry2017-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriends and I stayed here for a night to go to the National Apple Harvest Festival. Barbara was great and had a map of the festival for us and told us the best way to get to the festival without having to drive around and look for parking. The unit was clean and provided everything that we needed. I would definitely recommend staying with Barbara and we would definitely go back again.

  • If you are looking for a private secluded place within a close drive to Gettysburg, welcome home...this is the place. Welcoming owners who have taken part of their house and created a little efficiency space with wonderful outdoor area for sitting, swimming, grilling and a hammock to enjoy! The lot sits back off the road. There is ,a wonderful kitchen and dining area, full bathroom and a large enough bedroom for a oversized queen/twin bunk bed and a trundle bed. We slept 5 comfortably and we all had a blast playing in the pool! A great place to wind down after enduring the "battlefield". They also have a washer/dryer in the unit!

  • The Barth was great! Peggy and her husband kindly delivered the motorhome to me, and gave me a through run down of how it works. They were easily reachable by phone if we had any questions. Barth is very clean and in great shape! For anyone who doesn't realize, there isn't a bedroom in the back like some mohos, but instead you are able to easily seat 8 people in the main area, with room to move around. It worked out perfectly for us, and we would definitely rent it again. Thanks Peggy!

Our guesthouse is in a rural setting, an easy 3 mile drive to the Gettysburg National Military Park and 5 miles to the center of town. It is a self-contained building, separate from the main house on the property.
Perfect for couples, up to four adults, or families with young children. The sleeping area has two double beds and two floor mattresses, contained in cozy sleeping cubbies, for toddlers. Our guesthouse will only accommodate up to four adults. Additional young guests are more than welcome :)
  • So close to everything touristy to do! Just right down the road. Had a great time learning about the history of the house and Gettysburg too. Loved the roosters, the cute rooms, and beautiful nature setting at the house. I am sure we will be back again! Thanks for having us.

    Christina2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • General--The guesthouse could not be any cuter--and the roosters are a hoot. The hospitality level of the hosts is top notch--and the blueberry muffins are to die for. There is one bedroom with two double beds, and room for little kids if you have them. There is a sitting area (beware--the couch is so comfortable it will suck you in) and a perfect little kitchen. The fridge is stocked with milk, creamer for coffee, and OJ. Ground coffee is provided and brews up nicely. Did I mention the blueberry muffins were good? They are. Cleanliness--the bathroom and kitchen were spotless. The bedroom and living room were clean and well furnished. Cool thing--light switches are labeled (loved that). There is a little bar area on the first floor (everything else is on the 2nd)--looked super cool but we didn't have time to fully utilize it!) Space--perfect for the two of us. Location--so the thing that really got me every time we drove out to the guesthouse ( it is just a few minutes outside of Gettysburg proper--which is totally ok as it gets you away from the crowds) was that to drive out there, we would drive through the Gettysburg National Military Park--one of the battlefields and an observation tower is RIGHT THERE. It gave me chills every time we drove by. We did not get a chance to enjoy a glass of wine with our hosts, of which we were very disappointed to miss out! Definitely recommended--they are lovely people. If you are still in doubt--don't be. This is a great place, great hosts, great location.

  • This was a wonderful place to stay for our stay in Gettysburg. It's not to far from town, or other local attractions. It's a lovely, clean and cozy space. There were thoughtful touches like homemade blueberry muffins and local apples. William was very friendly and very responsive with communications.

    Krista2017-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • A few friends and I stayed here for a weekend to tour the battlefield. Bill and Lisa were great hosts who communicated with us very well before our arrival. They were great about giving advice on places to eat in town and nice spots on the battlefield, too! Great accommodations and wonderful hosts.

    Adam2017-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful guest house with the perfect amount of space. It felt like home. It was clean, comfortable, and I had everything I needed. William offers muffins, snacks, juice, milk, and cereal. I was also provided with recommendations for some great local places. I also enjoyed the complimentary glass of wine as well as the friendly cat who lives on the grounds. I'm looking forward to staying here again.

    Mel2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • William's guest house is an excellent B&B for sightseeing in the Gettysburg area. Bill and Lisa are very gracious hosts, and the guest house is very kid-friendly, quiet and charming. Netflix is provided through their TV monitor.

  • This was our first Airbnb experience and William and Lisa were perfect hosts. The guesthouse is charming, well furnished and very clean. The kitchen was stocked with necessities and yummy muffins for breakfast! Our hosts thought of everything we might need and then some. The setting is in a quiet neighborhood within a few minutes of the Battlefield and downtown. The roosters were entertaining ! We will be back!

    Carla2017-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • The Cock and Feather is an amazing place to stay. Bill and Lisa were awesome hosts! Very close to downtown Gettysburg while being very quiet and scenic. The coach house is a great space and the hosts did everything they could to make us feel comfortable. Their pets are adorable and the roosters are an added bonus! We'd go out of our way to stay here again.

  • We very much enjoyed our stay at Karen's home which we stayed for 2 nights while visiting Gettysburg. The house is situated a close drive away to the town in a rural area. The room is comfortable and quiet and the bathroom is spacious. Karen provided us delicious breakfasts, excellent well water and good conversation. She is knowledgeable of the area and recommended good places eat as well as what to see. I would not hesitate to visit again.

    Shirley2015-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Karen and John are wonderful, genuine, fun loving hospitable people. I admired their hosting - delicious food, cold drinks, fruit for the road, CD for the battlefield tour - Incredible attention to detail. Thanks for everything. Chose their home for your Gettysburg visit. You'll be so glad you did.

    Betsy2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • Karen (and also her husband) were excellent hosts! At arrival we were first welcomed by Karens husband who was still mowing the lawn :) Set on the porch with the beautiful view and had a little chat about the family and farms nearby. Later Karen arrived as well and we were really spoiled with fresh drinks and nachos. In the morning Karen really did her best on the best breakfast we had on our whole trip and it was really nice! Karen even skipped for us an appointment she had, so she could do her hosting even better, and we could borrow her audiotour-CD for the Gettysburg fields. All in all a really nice experience, beautiful view, very relaxing/quiet night and wonderful breakfast. Highly recommended!

    Joost2015-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay with Karen and John was beyond perfection. Karen was attentive to every detail of our stay and could not have been a better host. Breakfasts were absolutely delicious and our accommodations were very comfortable. We loved sitting, relaxing, and talking with Karen and John. We especially appreciated the private Gettysburg tour that Karen helped us to organize. This was a far superior experience to our other Airbnb stays. It was the highlight of our trip in every way.

    Robin2015-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • My son and I had a wonderful stay at Karen's charming house. The house sits atop a beautiful rolling hill surrounded by flowers and expansive well manicured lawn. The description from the other reviewers are accurate - clean and comfortable room, elegant breakfast each morning, all the amenities...etc. But what really sets our experience at Karen's place apart from that at a hotel (or eother B&Bs for that matter) is Karen's caring personality. She really cares about her guests and will make every effort to make her guests feel comfortable and welcomed. Upon arrival, we immediately felt as if we were at an old friend's house. She made popcorn and tasty ice tea for us to relax on her beautiful front porch. We chatted and my son was really fascinated by the fire flies blinking in the night. We had a busy day the following day touring the Gettysburg battlefield and yes, Karen lent us the CDs and gave us information on restaurants and direction. Shortly after we came back to the house. Karen came to check on us to see if we needed anything. I told her we had a great day and mentioned my son had a blister on his foot because of the amount of walking we did. She immediately went downstairs, in her PJ, to get needle, some antibiotic ointment, and a wet tower. She lit a match to burn the needle while talking to my son as if she was taking care of her own child. Afterwards, we lounged around her front porch again with some wine for me and a daiquiri (no alcohol) for my son. The whole experience truly exceeded our expectation. Beautiful house, wonderful host.

    Lisheng2015-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • We felt Karen's description was accurate. It sits on a hilltop beside lovely farmland... Picturesque and quiet!

    Claire2015-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • Karen was generous, detailed, attentive, and thoughtful to the max, and is was also a pleasure to get to know her husband, John. Karen catered to our requests and more, and we particularly appreciative of her lining us up with the best Gettysburg tour guide on the planet—Deb Novotny. From after-dinner wine of the porch to perfect and very fresh eggs at breakfast, our stay was great.

    Eric2015-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • I had a lovely experience at Karen's house. It was 5 minutes from Gettysburg College, where I was visiting my daughter. Karen was available for directions, information and anything I needed. Breakfast was made and beautifully served. The house was warm, cozy, clean, neat and I felt welcome and safe. I highly recommend it for visits to the college, especially good for parent/child accommodations. Thanks Karen and best of luck! Hope to stay again. BR

  • My family, my sister's family and my parents visited the area for a family reunion. The house was spacious enough for all of us to have our own areas. There were toys for the kids to play with and beautiful grounds for them to explore. It was great to have the fully stocked kitchen so we could cook big meals rather than eating out our whole stay. We had a wonderful experience and would stay there again.

  • Mike was a great host! The cabin is very nice, and the garage and fire pit are great for entertainment. Mike was very quick to respond and offered great tips for the stay. There are state parks nearby, which are nice for visiting. It was a great stay.

Our home is nestled in between apples orchards, corn, walnut trees and large trees. The home is a 4 story old Victorian farm house. Enjoy the quiet nature by taking walks, reading a book by the fire, curling up on on the porch swing and so on!
  • Richard and Debi were wonderfully kind and gracious (first-time) Airbnb hosts! Their beautifully decorated -hundred plus year old- home was nestled within the rolling Appalachian mountains of Pennsylvania's apple and pear country and the whole scene couldn't have been more lovely, peaceful and quiet. The upstairs bedroom had a very fine mattress and linens, an outside balcony and adjoining sitting room. The water closet and tub/shower/sink room were right outside the sitting room door. The home is just a few miles from the Appalachian Trail and Gettysburg, both very worthy of exploration. The Corvettes of Carlisle Show was just nineteen miles due north on a smooth winding country road and with a fresh brewed cup of jo was a great way to start the day! Even though there was no obligation, Debi made very tasty evening meals -which I enjoyed immensely- and the conversation was as broad as their worldly travels. I'm really looking forward to coming back someday. :)

We welcome you to our farm! This listing is for our music room with pullout sofa and private bathroom (shower). *We have another listing with 2 beds.* We love getting to know our guests and trading stories while enjoying a glass of wine (or juice) on the patio looking over the orchards and fields as the sheep and chickens walk around. We are close to parks, performing arts, national history, shopping (outlets). You’ll love the view, fresh air, and farm breakfast.
Our music room features an upright piano, collection of sheet music and CDs, and posters from our performances, but makes a great guest bedroom. It's ground level and quite cozy. It has a pullout sofa and a private bathroom with shower.
  • Charles and Cecylia are so warm and welcoming, they will make any guest feel at home and really make an effort to get to know you and share experiences. They are very generous with their time and produce from the farm, including delicious wine, fruit and breakfast. I would happily stay here for days!

  • Charles and Cecylia are very gracious, friendly and helpfull. Having a glass of wine on the porch watching the sunset, we talked of many things and enjoyed ourselves immensely.

  • This is a wonderful farm on a hilltop. Charles and Cecylia are great hosts and very warm, inviting people. The breakfast was delicious and was made with foods right from their farm. I came to visit Gettysburg and was looking for a secluded place away from the rest of the tourists to rest and that I could quickly get to Gettysburg from. From here it's about 15-20 minutes. I came for the trip to Gettysburg and left with new friends. I'm looking forward to coming back.

  • The setting here is tranquil. Charles welcomed us with some apples from his orchard and proudly pointed out his persimmon trees, his chestnuts, his sheep, his ducks, and his chickens. He is a generous and warm person with many interesting stories to tell. We especially enjoyed watching his dog, Max, chase down chickens and listening to some Borowsky family compositions.

  • I highly recommend Apple Haven Farm to anyone looking for a place to stay in the area. Charles and his family were extremely welcoming and friendly. I thoroughly enjoyed the accommodations as well as the stimulating conversation and scenic view. Pets are also allowed, and my dog got along really well with Charles' pets. I'm looking forward to staying here in the future!
