  • Julie and her husband Adam we’re both amazing hosts ! We had a bit of a struggle with our flight and a few setbacks on this trip but Julie made sure she could do anything to help assists with our stay . They were very helpful with providing information and even offered to us a ride before we were able to get to our rental. The views were beautiful and the food was amazing.

“Serenity At Solitude" is located on the beautiful east end of St Croix. It has breathtaking views of Buck Island and the blue Caribbean Sea. This suite is most private with its own patio. It is decorated in pure white with multicolored accessories to complement the flowering flora. It’s private bathroom has a tile lined shower. We hang our pure white cotton sheets in the Caribbean breeze to dry then iron them for your ultimate comfort when you retire. Daily housekeeping is provided.
This traditional West Indies style home is built for lots of outdoor spaces for your enjoyment. There is a constant easterly breeze to keep you cool in the tropical sun.
We are fortunate to be located just up the hill from the well known "Ziggy's" Island Market. They serve delicious Caribbean dishes for either take out or to enjoy at their open air bar with your favorite libation. Just next door is "Castaways" where there is nightly entertainment including open mic night, bingo, and live bands for dancing the night away. According to Trip Advisor, they serve the best pizza on the Island.
  • Let’s start with the Amazing views looking out to Buck island. Great location on the east end of the island with plenty of local bars and restaurants near. Short drive to Point Udall or go the opposite way and have a short drive to the city of Christiansted. Plenty of beaches in the area as well.

  • Such a great place. Great location on top of a hill, the view is unbelievable as the pictures don’t do it close to justice. About ten minutes to the boardwalk in Christiansted where there are a lot of bars and restaurants. The grounds are beautiful. We stayed in the little flower suite with the private balcony and it was lovely. The room is on the smaller size but we had plenty of space with the big closet and good size bathroom. Liz is an amazing host. Breakfast was always delicious and she caters to you asking the night before what time you would like. She had great tips for local places. Two minute drive down the hill and you’re at Ziggys and Castaways two of the main restaurants once you get out of Christiansted and head east. Great location, great stay, absolutely no complaints! Me and my sister felt so safe here; it’s a gated property.

  • A beautiful and peaceful place to stay on the East End. My husband and I visited for a 4-day weekend to do some diving and take in some sunshine and warmth. This was our first visit to the island *not* staying with friends so we were hoping for a comfortable and inviting experience, and we were definitely not disappointed. Everything was very easy, communication with Liz was great, she was very accommodating. The room is beautiful, very, very clean with everything you’d need and the views are absolutely stunning. Friendly and welcoming experience, even down to the two puppers who would greet us when we would arrive back to the house, very gentle & sweet dogs. We appreciated delicious fresh fruit and coffee for breakfast along with the shared common space to store things in the fridge, sit and plan our next day, etc. Location is nice on the East End- very close (10 mins) to Point Udall and the beaches there, and a very easy close drive to downtown Christiansted! A bit of a drive for Frederiksted (35/40 mins) if you’re going to dive the pier- but it was easy enough for us to just plan our timing and it’s still a small island :) Would love to return for our future trips to STX. You won’t be disappointed if you choose them for your next visit! Thanks for everything!

  • Wow! Liz & Shane definitely exemplify the term "Superhost." This was my boyfriend and I's first visit to St. Croix and their hospitality is one of the top reasons we would return. Not to mention their property is beautiful and feels much like home; except of course for the incredible view of Buck Island and other US/British Virgin Islands. We stayed in the Little Flower Suite and it was perfect for us since we spent most of our time diving near Frederiksted. When we would return, the shared den was such an incredible respite with a comfy couch, TV and space to have leftovers. Liz even woke up to provide us breakfast before we headed out early. We didn't want to leave and plan on returning soon. Thanks again Liz & Shane!

  • great place to stay!

  • This place is in a great neighborhood! It’s on the east side of the island with the picture perfect view of St. Croix’s Buck Island. After a lot of exploration, I would have to say it was the best view of anywhere on St. Croix. We loved how quiet and peaceful their home was, way up on the hill. And such a safe area. I went jogging many of the mornings we were there. Breakfast is unique every morning and delicious. Fresh food. And it’s worth it because groceries are way more expensive in the Virgin Islands than on the mainland. The bed is soft and the breeze is perfect. There’s a/c if you need it and it does get cold. The room was really clean and the bathroom is big. The bedroom is small and cozy, but not cramped for the two of us. We loved it. There is the coolest little pair of bars at the end of the street where all the ex-Americans hangout. Alcohol and food is fairly priced and delicious at these two places, Ziggy’s and Castaway’s. The hosts are hospitable and informative. They can tell you anything you need to know and have two huge sweet dogs. I think they were huskies or malamutes. Overall, it is a third the price of everywhere else on the island. And it is far superior to staying in the two city centers, Frederiksted or Christiansted. We will be coming back again in the future. -N and P from Texas

  • Liz place is amazing! She is incredibly kind and even let us stay a little bit longer for checkout! She was very attentive and the place was very private! She had amazing breakfast every morning and little snacks to munch on! They have pets but are incredibly friendly and cute! What can I say me and my bf loved it! :) hope to be back next time!

  • Amazing view of the ocean and Buck Island. Liz and Shane gave us excellent tips on places to visit and things to do. Their home is beautiful, hospitality cannot be beat, and atmosphere is quiet and relaxing. Just down the drive is a fun local bar/restaurant named Ziggy. We had so much fun and cannot wait to return. Of course, we will plan our stay at Serenity at Solitude.

  • Liz and Shane were fantastic! Breakfast consisted of fresh fruit and pastries every morning with fresh coffee. Liz was flexible regarding what time breakfast would be served and was helpful in suggesting fun island activities! Liz kept our room very tidy and clean, after a long day at the beach it was nice to come back to a beautiful, clean room. Their view of Buck island and mentioned amenities would be difficult to beat!

  • Shane and Liz are wonderul hosts and have a beautiful property on the east end of the paradise. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, especially the relaxed evenings by the pool watching the clouds float by and stars on the horizon. The room was comfortable and the common areas and amenities were amazing. Location was close to everything - grocery store, gas station, restaurants and private beaches all within 15min drive.

  • Liz and Shane are great hosts and I have enjoyed my stay at their place very much (e.g. well equipped room, cleanliness, breakfast, attention to details, view from their pool deck). I stayed at both the Little Flower Suite and the Cliffside Suite and liked the Cliffside Suite better as it felt a bit more airy and spacious. Thanks again for making my stay such a pleasant experience!

  • Great experience for our first B&B. The view is spectacular from pool deck and home is in a quiet neighbor hood. Has air conditioning which is a great plus to escape the heat. The room and bathroom were modern and clean. Liz and Shane were excellent host and offered wonderful suggestions for food and places to see. They have beach towels available for guest, which saves room in the suitcase. The locals are very friendly and we plan return to St. croix. Highly recommended!

  • Beautiful view of Buck island and the hills surrounding the property. The island has a nice breeze all over, but nothing like being on top a hill. You barely even need the AC she provides. Liz and Shane were the perfect host's and will give you tips on where to go hang out or eat. We went to visit family and celebrate my husband's birthday. It was his first trip outside the states, and it was perfect! They made us feel right at home... Wish we could've stayed longer!

  • Stay here! Great spot close enough to everything, but, secluded enough to be private. Beautiful scenery, kind hosts, loveable dogs, sparkling pool, comfy rooms with relaxing breeze, ripe fruit for breakfast, and good times are waiting for you when you book with island experts Liz and Shane!!!

“Serenity At Solitude" is located on the beautiful east end of St Croix. It has breathtaking views of Buck Island and the blue Caribbean Sea. This suite is decorated with blue and gold to complement the sea and valley view just outside your window. It has an updated private bathroom with tile lined shower and vessel sink. We hang our pure cotton white sheets in the Caribbean breeze then iron them for your ultimate comfort when you retire. Daily housekeeping is provided.
This traditional West Indies style home is built for lots of outdoor spaces for your enjoyment. There is a constant easterly breeze to keep you cool in the tropical sun.
We are fortunate to be located just up the hill from the well known "Ziggy's Island Market.
  • Beautiful place with awesome view. Very gracious host.

  • Your search for the best B&B in St. Croix ends here--this is the place you want to be. As soon as you step out of your car, you will be taken by the spectacular view of Buck Island, and your experience at Serenity will match it. Liz and Shane are truly superhosts--friendly, informative, and interested in your happiness, but also sensitive enough to give you the space to have your vacation. Liz's breakfasts are perfect--a varied mix of fresh fruits with a turnover, croissant or muffin, along with strong coffee and fresh juice. It's just enough to satisfy you until lunch, but not so much that you're dragging through the morning. The view from the pool deck is hands-down an HGTV Caribbean Life "million-dollar" view--and you get to experience it every morning, afternoon and evening. We visited The Buccaneer, just to see what people are paying $400 a night for, and the view there doesn't hold a candle to Serenity at Solitude. The cleanliness of the room and attention to detail are top notch. Also, having such a quiet place to return to with so few guests ensures that you have the privacy you're looking for. What we found to be the most attractive attribute (with the view and breakfasts being a close second and third) was having Liz and Shane as resources for the best restaurants to go to and best activities to do on the island. They aren't just concierges--they know many people and have personally experienced most of the island, so they can direct you to the best options. For example, Liz went out of her way to get us in touch with Captain Lou / Lllewellyns Charters for our trip to Buck Island. The result? We had a private snorkeling and beach tour by Captain Lou and his First Mate Dave on their trimaran, for the exact same price that we would have paid for the 30-person trip with Big Beards (Llewellyns only takes out a max of 6 guests and no other couples signed up that day). Furthermore, sailing with such seasoned experts got us to the reef before the crowds and allowed us to experience the pristine beach with no one else. This is just one example of a number of great connections that simply wouldn't have happened without Liz and Shane. We cannot recommend Serenity at Solitude enough. This is everything you could want in a B&B on St. Croix (or anywhere for that matter). We have no doubt that they are a top 3 B&B on the island (if not the best), and their popularity will match it within the next few years. This is a diamond in the rough and a star on the rise. Don't think twice on where to stay. You won't be disappointed.

  • Serenity at Solitude was perfect for our week-long, girlfriend trip to St Croix. Liz is wonderful, knowledgeable about the area, attentive and ready to give food and activity recommendations at a moment’s notice. The first time you walk down the stairs from the parking area you fall in love with this B&B. It’s is peaceful, relaxed, clean, and has amazing views of Buck Island. Staying with Liz and Shane, was a delight. I highly recommend!!

  • Fabulous views from the deck and wonderful hosts who worked hard to make our visit a great one The room was cleaned and the bed made daily. Breakfast was different each morning with a nice selection of coffee/juice and fruit and muffin or such. Looking at a repeat visit next year around the same time.

  • Great East end location. Close to restaurants and Buck Island. It was very easy to find. Liz and Shane were really nice and accommodating. We would certainly recommend their home to anyone visiting St. Croix.

  • Liz and Shane truly accommodate to each individual needs while staying at their BnB. From the genuine hospitality to the breath taking views to the delicious breakfast. There are only good things to come from this beautiful place. The island views, and peaceful stay give you the upmost opportunity to completely indulge in true serenity.
