  • Thx a lot, it was a very pleasant stay!

  • Sally and her family were great hosts and very welcoming. The room was lovely and cosy, immaculately clean and felt very private. The house is beautiful and in a great location, just a 10 minute walk down the wooded path to the beach and town centre. Sally gave us recommendations on where to eat, and was helpful with any questions or queries we had. Fowey is a beautiful area, with amazing places to eat and drink, and plenty do do such as kayaking, fishing, shopping and trips out. The room had everything we needed, and even came with a small fridge filled with orange juice, milk, bread and butter, a great touch! Would definitely return and recommend to friends. Thanks for being so welcoming.

  • Welcoming us into the house and showing us to our room. The special and very sweet touch of providing a little fridge with fresh milk, ORGANIC i might add, big thumbs up from me plus fresh juice... how lovely and generous! Sally was

  • I had a wonderful stay at Sally's place. Managed to get myself lost getting there but is actually really easy. Just past the roundabout and on the right hand side. Sally and James were very welcoming, the whole family are lovely people If anything the room is nicer than the photos. Very clean with a little fridge that had juice, milk, butter and jam and a lovely bottle of cold water and bread for toast. Also cereal on the shelf. Bed is really comfy. Thanks Sally for everything x

    Juanita2017-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • Whilst our stay was just an overnight pit stop on a cycling trip we very much enjoyed staying at Sally's place, particularly the stunning walk down the footpath to Readymoney beach.

  • Sally and James made me feel very welcome on arrival. The room was clean, quiet and cosy. Just what I needed.

  • Great little base in fowey with parking right next to Sams bar ! Perfect for two on a short stay in fowey

    John2017-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • The little apartment was spotlessly clean, well decorated and very light and airy. It is right in the centre of the bustling village but we were never disturbed by any noise. The terrace overlooks one of the main streets (mainly pedestrians) and had a large gas barbecue. The bedroom is at the back and so very quiet. The bed itself was very comfortable. Having its own private off-road parking is a real plus in Fowey - we watched many other holidaymakers trekking up and down the steep streets with luggage from the (expensive) public car-parks. Manouvering in and out could be a bit awkward if you have a large car though. There are numerous pubs, bars and restaurants within a few hundred yards, as well as nice bakeries and pasty shops. It made an ideal base for the two of us to explore the village and nearby attractions (Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan to name a couple). Our most enjoyable days started with a lazy breakfast on the terrace (eating fresh bread from the bakery across the road) followed by spending time just wandering round the village or taking the little ferry over to Polruan to stroll around that side. The day would be broken by stopping at one of the numerous places to have a coffee or beer and just sitting and watching the world in general (and people and boats in particular) go by. Although not listed on the amenities, there was very good wifi. We would stay here again without hesitation and would certainly recommend the property to anyone else.

    Bernard2016-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, Cosy clean apartment. We had a great stay would recommended highly!

    Rachel2017-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at the apartment. The layout was just perfect for us and despite being right in the centre of town, there is a lovely calm atmosphere. The outside space and the parking space right outside are real advantages. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again or to recommend the apartment to others.

    Katherine2017-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is clean, fresh and bright. The location is brilliant and a real bonus having a parking space in the centre of Fowey. Lovely apartment for a perfect break - restaurants and shops on your doorstop and amazing walks along the stunning coastline.

The Garden Room at Morvoren is in a detached house in a quiet residential part of Fowey with on site parking (fairly steep drive). It is close to Readymoney Beach and a short walk into the town of Fowey.
Seperate access to a large bright room with twin beds (can be a double), mattress toppers, two pillows, cotton sheets and decent size bath towels. Two large armchairs, for reading and a selection of Cornish books. Small table and two chairs for breakfast. Fridge, with small ice compartment; microwave, kettle, and toaster; varied breakfast ingredients provided daily: cereals, juice, yoghurt, fruit, bread, marmalade, jam, marmite, honey and butter. Tea, coffee, herb teas, chocolate and biscuits. TV and Wifi. Hairdryer. Shared modern wet room shower cubicle, with toilet, basin, and toiletries.
  • The house is located two steps from the beach, is cozy and have a big garden with a balcony. Jenny was super kind and gave us great advice about the best restaurants near by . I would definitely stay there again if I go back to Fowey.

    Bruno2016-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Jenny's house was beautifully located and thoughtfully appointed. She has the room generously set up with coffee, tea, bread, yogurt, etc. The walk to town is beautiful, and the town itself is lovely. Having breakfast in the garden with a view out to sea is heaven. Meeting Jenny and Quinta the sweetest dog is such a treat. We only wish we had had longer to stay.

    Taylor2016-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Jennys room was great - good size, well equipped and comfortable. Its about 15 minutes walk from the main shops in Fowey.Unfortunately we didnt get down to the beach, and we didnt get to meet Jenny, but we were very pleased with our stay.

    Hilary2016-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • My 13 year old daughter and I had a wonderful time in Fowey staying at Jenny's house. The beds were comfortable, the room was superbly equipped with a fridge, microwave and a cupboard full of crockery and cutlery to make our 3 night visit perfect in every way. We had glorious weather (admittedly beyond Jenny's control!) and spent a fantastic day at the Lost Gardens of Heligan followed by fish and chips by the harbour in Mevagissey and another walking the SW Coastal path and the Saints Way via Sams on the Beach at Polkerris. We were able to collapse on our beds and watch movies and drink our tea on the terrace in the morning. Jenny's house is perfectly appointed - just a 2 minute walk down to Readymoney bay and straight up on the SW Coastal Path and The Saints Way. Tea at the Dwelling House in Fowey is not to be missed. We will be back! Thank you Jenny.

    Hannah2016-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • It was a perfect stay in FoWey. The room was clean and lovely ! Thank you again Jenny !

    Juliette2017-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Jenny has thought of everything guests might need. The house is in a quiet area but easily within a short walk of a very pretty small cove, and a slightly further walk into the town. The only slight issue was our car couldn't make it into Jenny's drive as it is has low ground clearance. Not a problem for normal cars, and not really for us as there is a pay car park 50 yards away. Highly recommended.

    steve2017-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely big room with comfortable beds and lounge chairs to sit in. Very nicely decorated and we felt very comfortable staying here. Jenny was a lovely hostess very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed our stay and certainly would return to stay here.

    Anais2017-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Karen's property was great. It was immaculately clean on arrival, it's reasonably priced for such a large accommodation and in a good location to explore the local area. Karen was an excellent host and quick to respond throughout the process.

    Sam2016-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a large affordable property in a fab location this is the one for you. We've just enjoyed a lovely holiday at saffron close. Karen is a great host. She went out of her way to be helpful resolving teething problems we had as first guests at this property. The house is exactly as described. Karen has accurately summarised the retro quirky nature of the interior which for our large family group was ideal. The house has large light comfortable rooms, comfortable beds and good quality linens and all spotlessly clean. We enjoyed the wonderful outlook over the gardens which afforded glimpses of the river estuary. At this price for this house in this location we'll definitely return.

    Neil2016-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • The house is in a brilliant, quiet location and parking on the spot is a huge plus. It's slightly dated (made us quite nostalgic!) but has bags of space which was great as we were busy preparing things for our son's wedding. Karen responded promptly to our problem with the heating, and the place was then very cosy.

    Geraldine2017-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • We have just returned from a lovely holiday in Fowey. The house was great and perfectly located for exploring Fowey and the surrounding areas. Karen is a great host and quick to respond to all queries.

  • What a fantastic apartment! Jayne and David have created a lovely "home from home" to use as a base for exploring Fowey and surrounding areas or just as a place to relax before wandering out to enjoy the beautiful area. The spotless apartment is exceptionally well equipped with everything you need and is tastefully decorated and furnished in a modern style. Lots of nice touches with little notes added to items. Also provided is a folder full of ideas and places to go, together with detailed instructions about the apartment. A lot of thought has been put into making a stay very welcoming and accommodating. Make sure you have everything with you when you park the car as, depending where you park, it can be a long trek up a very steep hill to go back to collect something you've forgotten - as we did!! We would not hesitate in recommending this apartment - in fact we already have, to a couple we started talking to as we were leaving!! We will certainly consider a return as we travel to Cornwall to visit family quite regularly. Thanks again Jayne and David for helping us wind down successfully in such a lovely environment.

  • We had a lovely week here. The loft is just as described and perfectly located. The interior is bright and clean and beautifully appointed. Beds are very comfortable. All communication was quick and easy and Alan took time to explain all the things we might need to know and was very helpful generally. Can't wait to go again!

  • Beautiful clean comfortable apartment, right in the centre of Fowey. Very well proportioned living space and bedrooms. Loads to see and do right on the doorstep. We found it a little noisy at night with church bells tolling on the hour and people leaving the pub on the corner, but we are quite light sleepers so this shouldn't put anyone off. Overall, well worth a visit!

    Gemma2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • The Sail Loft is a lovely apartment -- superb location, nice amenities, plenty of comfort. Jayne & David were very kind, prompt, and thorough in their communications. I highly recommend their home and hope to stay there again, before too long.

    William2017-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay in the Sail Loft. It was immaculately clean and felt like somewhere we could really settle into as a home for the time we were there. We didn't want to leave! The location is perfect as it is really central yet at the same time feels private and tucked out the way of the main roads. There is some helpful information provided about places to visit which we used as we were not all that familiar with the area. We would definitely try and go back again if we visit Fowey in the future.

    Tora2016-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • Re-visiting Fowey after 12 years, and having spent many childhood holidays there, we were looking for somewhere that was 'home from home' and came across 'Sail Loft'. We immediately loved it from the photos. Knowing it was in the centre of town, the big plus was that it exceeded expectations on seeing the real thing. Not only its enviable position, but the whole atmosphere of 'Sail Loft' is extremely friendly and welcoming. We felt at home straight away due to Jayne and Davids' lovely relaxed decor and parcel tag notes! The appliances and interior are modern and contempory whilst in keeping with the seaside feel, everything is there to make the holiday easy-going. We loved 'Sail Loft' and can't recommend it highly enough to anyone who wants this as a base while exploring this beautiful part of the country. Jayne and David's instructions and recommendations to us personally, and in the flat, were spot-on. Leaving was very, very difficult and we can't wait to return.

As you walk the ever narrowing streets of the old town where mediaeval and Georgian buildings cast shadows over each other, a vibrant maritime history comes to life. Lining the main Fore Street you will find many small, independent shops selling unusual gifts, artwork, clothing and books. If you’re a foodie then Fowey is home to many bistros, cafes and restaurants where you’ll find menus offering the best in local produce – Fowey River mussels are a highlight. Membership of Fowey Hall Hotel is included in your stay, you will find full details on your arrival at the house. About how to access the swimming pool and hot tub.
  • This is a lovely house that's cozy and welcoming. The immaculately clean interior has been well thought out and equipped with quality fittings and everything you might need while you're there - the main bedroom and private little garden have a nice view over estuary. It's located well to enjoy Fowey with a short walk down past the church to the centre - though we were more than happy just to spend time relaxing at the cottage. We would definitely stay here again - absolutely loved the place thanks!

  • Good central position. Lovely, comfy and clean. Very warm from aga and log burner. Very nicely decorated. Short walk to nearby hotel which you got free access to pool, was great. Parked car in nearby car park but due to central position didn't bother us at all. Enjoyed our stay very much!

  • We stayed in Fowey after a week in London and it was the perfect end to the trip. We found the house was close to the village and the pub across the road was a bonus.

  • A lovely cottage and would revisit. The Aga is a definite plus!

    Hazel2017-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • An ideal place to stay for a holiday in Fowey. It's comfortably furnished and has everything you need to ensure a relaxing stay. The little garden is sweet but unfortunately the weather wasn't good enough to take advantage. Jasmine Cottage is ideally located - just minutes away from all the shops, pubs and restaurants - and in a quiet location apart from the ever present sea gulls. Also the walk back up the hill will keep you fit! All in all highly recommended.

    Dede2016-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and lovely comfortable cottage with aga.

  • Cottage is in a great location. It is warm and comfortable and tastefully furnished. The weather was changeable but we soon dried off coats and dogs in front of the Aga. Would definitely recommend.

Cosy, double, en-suite room on the ground floor of a modern property with separate access for guests. We serve a continental breakfast of freshly bought pastries, cereal, fruits and tea and coffee; which can be eaten in the garden on sunny days should you wish. We are approximately 10-15 minute walk (downhill!) to the centre of Fowey; 10 minutes to the beautiful and safe beach of Readymoney Cove, the South West coastal path and the Iconic ‘Saints Way’.
The room is suitable for 2 adults (one comfy double) and child under 2 (please bring your own travel cot!). TV, tea and coffee making facilities and wifi access. It is calm, bright and beautifully furnished
Located on a new residential road, overlooking fields in the distance. Just up the hill from the pretty, historic harbour town of Fowey (pronounced Foy, as in 'A Hoy'!). Fowey is a year round town popular with tourists and locals, with great shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs. Seasonal ferries run to Mevagissy for The Lost Gardens of Heligan, and there is a regular ferry to the village of Polruan across the harbour and the car ferry to Boddinick and onto Polperro and Looe. The South West Coast Path and many stunning coastal and country walks are within striking distance of the house. Within reach: Eden Project (6 miles away), Lost Gardens of Heligan, National Trust Lanhydrock House, The World Heritage Site of Luxulyan Valley, Charlestown Historic Harbour ( a location used in Poldark) Each August, Fowey hosts the Royal Fowey Regatta… Lots more tourist information, maps and guides is provided in the room.
  • The room at Jill’s home was just great. I had a super stay. Jill was a perfect host and her lovely little dog Midge was adorable. The room is spacious, very comfortable and immaculate. The pictures online does not do it full justice. The little touches in the room, such as hot drink making facilities and bottled water was appreciated. The room is self contained and private. Fantastic en-suite. Breakfast is lovely. The location of the property is about 15 minutes walk from town centre. It was a perfect location for me. And if you are not great at hills (and there are lots around Fowey) it’s so easy to drive into town and park. Fowey is a stunning little town. I can not recommend Jill’s accommodation highly enough, and when I return to Fowey, it will be my first choice to book.

    Lawrence2017-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great time at Jill's place in Fowey, fantastic host, great location and really helpful recommendations from Jill. Would strongly recommend this as a place to stay!

    simone2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed with Jill at her Airbnb accommodation in early September and it was the best experience! So easy to get to from Par Railway station and such a lovely house. Our room was immaculate with all facilities and a lovely healthy breakfast each morning was included. Fowey is 10-15 minutes walk away and is on a bus route so a bus back was sometimes welcomed. Thank you Jill for your hospitality and consideration and also for allowing us to enjoy your gorgeous, gently doggy which was an added bonus. Sue and Colin

    Sue2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I spent a long weekend in Fowey and it was absolutely wonderful. Jill is a lovely, generous, and accommodating host. Because came to Cornwall from London by train, Jill offered to pick us up from the station in Par. She also gave us a lift to St Austell on a rainy day, and drove us to the station at the end of our stay. Her dog Midge (perhaps the quietest Jack Russell we had ever met) is also incredibly sweet! Jill provided a beautiful breakfast spread every morning, and when the weather was sunny we took it into the garden. The en suite bedroom is beautiful, comfortable, and bright, and feels very private because it is on the lower level of the house. It has a separate entrance and we felt comfortable coming and going. The house is about a 10-15 minute walk from town, which is also easily accessible by town bus. It is also a 15 minute walk from Readymoney Beach. We absolutely recommend that anyone thinking of staying in Fowey stay with Jill!

    Isabel2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed with Jill during the Fowey Regatta and had a great few days exploring. A lovely little town, however be warned about the hill on the way back! There was a town bus but we never quite sussed it out. Fab breakfast each morning, no complaints. Thanks for a great stay.

    Chelsea2017-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • The room is wonderful. Absolutely spotless and with everything you need. Jill made us feel so welcome and at home, and the breakfast was lovely. She's a great host. It's a short walk into town, made slightly longer coming back due the hill but it's not really too much of an issue. Fowey is so nice it's certainly worth it. Overall a 5 star stay and we'd certainly be back. Thanks Jill!

    Michael2017-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Jill’s place is exactly as described and pictured... comfortable and sparkling clean! The bed is really comfy, the shower hot and good pressure and breakfast is delicious - toast, cereals, fruits, jams, tea, coffee and juice. Jill and Midge the dog made us feel really welcome. Would highly recommend.

    Isla2017-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Jill's place is extremely clean and private and is easily accessible with public transportation or on foot. We took the bus in from Par and got off at a stop very close to her place. The walk into town was easy, and the walks around Fowey and Polruan are lovely. Jill was very accommodating, and her dog is very sweet. Breakfast was simple and healthy.

My place is close to pubs, restaurants , the beach, the coastal path and public transport. You’ll love my place because of stunning views, friendly welcome, and great breakfasts. The room is "en suite" - it's hard to believe but AirBnB doesn't give this option so I couldn't put it in! There is a range of parking nearby but I do not have my own provision.
    ""FOWEY"" - nothing like it!
  • We had a wonderful stay in Fowey. Ken is a great host - so enthusiastic about his town and the area - and his local knowledge is invaluable. Lovely breakfast, comfortable room with beautiful views - can't recommend this place enough.

    Ian2017-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Ken made us so welcome and couldn't have been more helpful. The views of Fowey harbour from Ken's place are very special - we felt very lucky to be staying in such a beautiful spot. It is really easy to get to the restaurants and pubs are but is still also a peaceful place to stay. And Ken does a lovely breakfast too! Highly recommended.

  • Very comfortable and spotlessly clean B&B. Superb view of the harbour and an excellent breakfast. Lots of little touches such as toiletries in the shower, fresh milk in the room for making tea and boxes of tissues - much appreciated. Ken was very friendly and helpful in suggesting where we could park.

    john and jennifer2017-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • We were totally happy with our brief stay at Ken's place. As a host, Ken is a natural: welcoming and a mine of useful and interesting information. He seemed genuinely interested in adding to his guests' experience. Our room was spacious and comfortable with spectacular views. The whole place was like a gallery with many artworks we would like to have taken home; the creations of the owners. The icing on the cake was a great breakfast!

    Norman2017-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Big, comfy, well-equipped, clean and marvellous room with astonishing views to the harbour. Ken is a very interesting person to get to know. You can tell he loves hosting people and knows how to please them. Literally, he shares his home with his guests, so you feel completely at home. Ken made us the most authentic English breakfast we will ever have (with a wide range of food to choose from). Also, he gave us a lot of suggestions based on what we wanted to do. For example, he showed us a gorgeous walking route along the coast around Fowey with all the indications printed out. Absolutely recommended.

There is adequate floor space in the room for a travel cot. In accordance with Airbnb policy infants aged 0-2 are not charged for but they must still be taken into account as part of the overall number of occupants and advised at booking. If you prefer to bring your own travel cot for an infant please let us know. Wardrobe space is available with hanging space. Depending on the time of year and how full the tree coverage is, you may be able to see the sea on the horizon from the window. We welcome well behaved dogs, we have a 2 year old spaniel and a 4 year old beagle. Our garden is securely fenced to keep both children and dogs in! The curtains are blackout lined for a great night's sleep. The room has a compact but well equipped modern en-suite with powerful shower, small basin, WC and mirror fronted storage cabinet. The only access to the first floor guest room is via a set of stairs leading from our kitchen/diner. This provides a good level of privacy. Our guest entrance is directly into the kitchen/diner from the garden and a key will be provided for the duration of your stay to allow you to come and go as you wish throughout your stay. Unfortunately we do not permit guests to use the kitchen/diner outside of breakfast time and guests are not permitted access to any room other than the en-suite guest bedroom and kitchen/diner. Late arrivals can be accommodated until 10pm and we can also be flexible on check out time. If you would like to arrive early and leave your car this may be possible. Please do ask beforehand though so we can make sure the cars are parked so everyone who needs to can get in and out. If you need to check in to the room early please ask and we will do our best to accommodate this (no guarantees!). Please note that there may be the odd occasion when guests arrive in our absence. If this is going to be the case (and we do try to avoid it) we will ensure that you have information about how to find your key etc. We will always be here overnight and in the morning to look after our guests.
Fowey (pronounced Foy to rhyme with joy!) is a stunning Cornish coastal town popular with tourists including families, walkers, sailors and those with literary interests as it is in the heart of Daphne Du Maurier country. Our room contains a basket stuffed full of tourist information leaflets, maps and books about the local area. Please feel free to borrow our walk guides/books but remember to leave them behind! Fowey has its own compact but lovely beach at Readymoney Cove which is 10-15 mins walk from Hope Barn down the scenic Parade footpath. Our new venture for 2017 is opening a brand new beach shop at Readymoney selling beach goods, hot and cold drinks, ice-creams and snacks, an exciting new business for us and great for Fowey. Readymoney Cove also provides access to the south west coastal path. There are many lovely walks in and around Fowey of varying lengths depending on your fitness levels! Fowey itself is packed with great shops, cafes, galleries, restaurants and pubs as well as an amazing artisan bakery, a butchers, fish & chip shop and deli, Mace mini market and the obligatory pasty shop! Several boat trips run from Fowey during the summer season as does the year round car ferry to Bodinnick leading to Polperro and Looe, the year round passenger ferry to Polruan and the summer season passenger ferry to Mevagissey (although the latter is somewhat weather dependent). Hope Barn is on the edge of the town (approx 15 mins walk to town centre, 20 mins via scenic beach/coastal route) and provides the perfect homely retreat from what can be a pretty busy town centre during peak periods. The walk back up the hill from the town centre is quite steep but the Town Bus runs from 10am - 6pm (in summer time, check the board outside the church) and will take you to anywhere in the town you want to go from £1.50 per person. Fowey hosts an annual literary festival each May (previously known as the Du Maurier festival), a Regatta week in August and a whole host of other activities including a biannual Big Gig and BBQ weekend in June which involves three days of live music and great food on the Town Quay and a new Cider and Cheese Festival. There is lots going on and Fowey makes a great place to visit all year round. We are a 10 - 20 min drive from the Eden Project and a 20 - 30 minute drive from the Lost Gardens of Heligan. There are numerous big beaches nearby and even more smaller more secluded beaches. Dog access to beaches varies by beach and by time of year.

  • Small cosy room, set apart from the rest of the house. We loved the breakfast (fresh eggs!), and the friendly dogs and helpful children. It was a quick walk down the hill to the center of Fowey for a great selection of pubs and restaurants.

  • A lovely, friendly and welcoming family. Victoria and Andrew went out of their way to ensure we had a great stay. The room was comfortable, clean and of a good size; exactly as expected from the description. The breakfast was a nice touch and we appreciated Victoria leaving it out a little bit later on New Years day! We would definitely recommend and stay again should we return to Fowey.

  • Thank you so much to all the familly!! Louis Balthazar and i wont forget these 3 days at the Clarks house!

    Eric2015-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • What a fantastic stay!!! Thank you all so much for letting us stay in your beautiful home and making us feel welcomed into your family. Couldn't fault Hope Barn at all! 5* Thanks guys! Hope to see you again.

  • Victoria, Andrew and the Boys were fabulous hosts. It was cosy and comfortable but we had four fabulous days in Cornwall. Victoria and Andrew's recommendations were perfect, and we enjoyed tasting the local cuisine and sampling the local beers. It was lovely being around and feeling part of the family just for a few days. Our breakfasts were an added bonus particularly sampling the eggs from their own chickens. It was lovely to wake up hearing the chickens first thing in the morning. I would recommend Hope Barn to any future guests. Thanks for everything Victoria, Andrew and Boys. Brenda Segedin

  • Cecil and Tom's place is a really warm and inviting family home. It is centrally located in the heart of the small town, close to everything. Our room has a great view overlooking the church and its garden; it is especially beautiful in the morning when the sun shines through the big windows. Our favourite part of our short trip other than visiting the beautiful small town is eating breakfast in the kitchen with the family and enjoying listening to each other's stories. Tom made the best breakfast! I would recommend this place to anyone going to Fowey. Thanks again for a great time!

    Rebecca2017-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • Cecil's place was very open and welcoming from the start and throughout. The location was perfect to walk to all areas of Fowey, and be right in the center of things in less than a minute's walk.

    Blake2017-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • This is a rather special house in a great locality which immerses you in old Fowey. It is less than a minutes walk passed the Church into the harbour area. Charming hosts, Cecil and Tom made both us and the bicycles welcome. We arrived after a wet ride and were restored by hot water in a wonderful bathtub. Following a cooked to order breakfast in the kitchen the next moring we set out again refreshed and recharged full of fascinating historical information about Fowey and Cornwall given to us by Tom. I would definitely stay here again if in the area.

2 bed flat in popular Cornish town of Fowey. Amazing view of river and sea, in a converted 19th century coach house. Parking included & spacious balcony. 5 mins town, 2 mins beach. Babysitters available. We have welcomed international guests from many different countries since 1980 when my parents first ran a guesthouse from the family home. The flats were converted in 2008 to self contained units.
You won't find a view like this anywhere else in Fowey! There is one double room and one twin room, with spacious and comfortable kitchen/diner area. There is a sofa bed downstairs.
Fowey is a very special Cornish town, bustling with shops, pubs and restaurants but with spectacular coastal walks and beaches You are three miles from the world famous Eden Project
  • Lovely place with great views, only a short walk into town and to the beach, highly recommend!

  • Very welcoming host. Lovely flat. Fantastic views. Think though you should say that you could be staying in one of two flats before people book. The main photo is not of the balcony we had in fact there is only one photo in the small photos of the flat we stayed in and that was the smaller balcony. It did not spoil our week at all but some people could be disappointed as it is presumed you are staying in the flat that is advertised

    Elizabeth2015-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • My OH and I spent an amazing long weekend in Fowey in early December. Directions received in advance by Sinead were perfect and allowed us to reach the place with no problem. The 2-storey flat is perfectly located to reach the main areas in Fowey with just a short walk. The apartment was spotless and clean. There is space for 4 in two separate bedrooms and in the living/diner - there is also a separate loo at ground floor. The kitchen is fully equipped and functional. The apartment is very cozy: due to the temperature we didn't make full use of the balcony with a stunning view, but the interior was warm and welcoming. Excellent location to explore other destinations in Cornwall - Eden Project and St Ives for us. Absolutely recommended.

  • Well located, spectacular views, very comfortable and off street parking, which is always a bonus in Fowey.

    Nick2017-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • A fantastically located flat with quite simply an AWESOME view! You really can't beat that view! We stayed with two under 4's and the flat worked very well, easy to walk into town and to the local beach (up a steepish hill coming back so could be a struggle for some). The parking for flat is shared therefore requires negotiation with the other guests so cars can be moved, but this was not a problem at all and as we are quite familiar with Fowey we know parking is difficult so simply having a drive near the flat was a massive bonus. Would very much recommend and we can't wait to go back.

    Joanna2017-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay in Fowey very much and we found the accommodation to be very comfortable clean and central. We would have have no hesitation recommending this to a friend. The parking was a great added bonus also.

The beautiful bathroom has a wet room rain shower and extra deep tub for a soothing candlelit soak. There's an ample supply of thick fluffy towels with snuggly towelling bathrobes and slippers. Hidden behind the cottage is a little, secluded courtyard garden, a cosy spot for breakfast or to while away candlelit evenings in the gentle Cornish climate.
A short stroll to sandy beaches, exhilarating walks along some of the loveliest heritage coastal paths, kayaking up river for a picnic in the spot that inspired Wind in the Willows, or some truly good food and lovely little shops and galleries. The Sea Swallow is the perfect base for exploring many of Cornwall's wonderful attractions or just tucking yourselves away for a cosy break with everything you need just a pebble's throw away. The Eden Project, Lost Gardens of Heligan, Lanhydrock and the breathtakingly beautiful Bodmin moor are nearby, not to mention the sun, sea and surf. It's easy to see why Daphne DuMaurier fell instantly in love with pretty Fowey and made it her home, with it's deep harbour setting nestled into steep green hills rolling out to sea that weave some special kind of magic on you.
  • We had an amazing time in Tracey's beautiful cottage. The beds were gloriously comfortable and the whole place was beautifully laid out.. there were even a few little toys for kids. It was so close to bakeries, restaurants and shops... a total treat. Thank you Tracey.

  • Great cottage, great host, great area! We really loved staying in this beautifully furnished cottage which is only a few steps away from the village center. Everything was well prepared at our arrival (incl. Nespresso capsules, full range of baby stuff like high chair, cot etc) and in 100% clean condition. It was great communicating with Tracey as she was very responsive before and throughout our stay. We will definitely come again if we are back in the region.

  • If you're visiting Fowey or even the nearby area in Cornwall, The Sea Swallow is the perfect place to stay. It is both a hideaway from the hustle and bustle and centrally located to explore Fowey and the surrounding areas on foot and the other nearby sites of Cornwall. Tracey is a great host and very responsive. The Sea Swallow is very clean as well decorated with nice extras such as good wifi, app based TV and Nespresso coffee. The stairs to the main bedroom are a bit steep but you get used to them. We wish we had opted to take the linen refresh mid week that Tracey offers, but there is a washing machine to refresh towels if needed. Overall, we had a great stay and really enjoyed our week at The Sea Swallow exploring Fowey. Would recommend the ferry trip from Fowey to Mevagissey.

  • Tracey was very helpful both before and during our stay and sent a comprehensive list of tips and recommendations. We loved the cottage. It was very clean, nicely furnished and had everything we needed. It felt welcoming and cosy and we especially loved the window seat in the top bedroom. The bath and shower were also great and worked well. Just be aware that the stairs to the first floor bedroom and bathroom are quite steep and the master bedroom is in the attic floor with VERY steep stairs if you need to pop down to the loo in the night! They were a bit of a worry for us having a 2 year old as we had to watch her all the time so probably better for slightly older children. The patio area outside was very small with just slabs rather than gravel so we needed to take our dog out last thing at night and first thing in the morning to go to the loo. The location was perfect - picturesque and so close to Fowey's lovely shops, cafes and restaurants. Parking was a bit of a pain having to walk to the public car park but we knew that when booking and you can unload outside. Overall we would recommend this and would stay again when our daughter is older - or even better it would be a perfect place for a romantic break just two of you or even if you wanted time away on your own as it felt very safe. Thank you!

  • We had a lovely time in Fowey at The Sea Swallow. The building itself was clean and beautifully decorated. The kitchen was very well equipped. We especially appreciated the scones provided on arrival! Generally the house was well located and very comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay and received appropriate attention from the host when required. Thanks!

  • The Sea Swallow Cottage was absolutely perfect for our weekend getaway to Fowey! First, the location cannot be beat - located on a quiet street just behind the main church with an easy little walk down to the lively main street filled with shops and restaurants. Also, I have never stayed in a more beautifully and thoughtfully decorated cottage. It is clear how much time, consideration and love has been poured into the space. From the cosy, seaside feel of the decor to the well stocked kitchen to the super comfy beds with real linens to the scones awaiting our arrival. It was simply wonderful and I wold highly recommend to anyone visiting Fowey!

A cosy, light room with a small en-suite shower room with off street parking and only a 5 minute walk into the centre of Fowey. There will be a selection of teas, a cafetiere, hot chocolate and fresh milk in your room. Along with a selection of croissants, butter, jam and fresh fruit for the morning. We are very relaxed and are more than happy to tweak any of the above.
A cosy light airy room, a comfy double bed with lovely views of the river and countryside. Check in is 2pm, but this is flexible if the room is ready. The room has just enough space to accommodate a travel cot.
Fowey is a beautiful working harbour side town, with friendly pubs, cafes and restaurants. The Eden Project is a 20 minutes drive, and other gardens such as Heligan and Trebah are within easy reach. Bodmin moor is worth a visit if you like walking, a stomp up Brown Willy will clear away the cobwebs! and the St Tudy Inn is great for a lovely lunch. And of coarse many beautiful beaches which we can advise you on.
  • As others have written, this is an excellent choice with great facilities and in a very welcoming home. Whilst cosy, it is still big enough with a lovely ensuite room, so with so many extras added in you feel truly at home. The breakfast hamper works so well and was a welcome alternative after two (lovely) cooked breakfasts the previous two mornings elsewhere. The port, nuts and fruit were also a lovely extra. The location has a great view but good legs are needed for walking in and out of town as it is very steep. Thanks Jane - it was fun!

  • Jane greeted us warmly and showed us to our cosy little room looking out onto a gorgeous view on the Cornish countryside. She is a fantastic host and responded swiftly to all our requests. My friend and I felt very comfortable in her home and especially enjoyed the company of her cat Rocky.

  • Jane met me at the door and showed me to my room which was beautiful and spacious and had fantastic views over Fowey. The area was perfect for me, to have parking and within easy walking distance of the town was just what I was after. The room had so many lovely little extra touches over and above what I've experienced anywhere else. I visited during Fowey Arts Festival and there were many artists with open studios just minutes from the house.

    Caroline2016-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • Jane was very welcoming and I very much enjoyed my time staying in her home. The room was lovely with an incredible view and I especially liked having my own ensuite. I also appreciated the parking space for my car. The location was great and just a few minutes walk to the city center and the wharf. I particularly enjoyed the restaurant, The Globe, where I had a delicious dinner. I would definitely recommend this listing to other Airbnb guests.

    Dee2016-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely, very tastefully decorated ensuite room with lots of little extras that made us feel really welcome. The port, nuts and fruit and chocolates were great. Lovely breakfast hamper too. Superb view and only a 5 min walk down to town. Highly recommended. Thank you Jane.

A simply wonderful end of terrace modernised fisherman's cottage, full of character in the heart of the historic harbour town of Fowey with a fantastic range of waterfront pubs, restaurants, shops and galleries just moments away. Terrific river views from the upper floors and an intriguing garden at the back!
Beam Reach is a brilliant end of terrace cottage set right in the heart of the historic harbour town of Fowey. There is so much to see and do locally, this is just a great place to stay and is ideal for those who particularly want to be within walking distance to pubs and restaurants in the evenings. You can spend hours just wandering and exploring the narrow streets of Fowey, relaxing over a drink whilst watching the boats on the river in one of the many waterside cafes or pubs. There is a great beach at Readymoney Cove or you can take the little passenger ferry to Polruan and walk along miles of coastal footpaths. The Eden Project, Lanhydrock Gardens or historic Charlestown with its Shipwreck Museum are all within an easy 20 minute drive of Fowey. The cottage itself is presented in a lovely way with reverse level accommodation to take in the great views from the first floor. There are two twin bedrooms on the ground floor with a family bathroom and utility room to the rear. There are narrow stairs up from the ground floor entrance hall to the first floor kitchen, dining and living room which has fabulous views over the river. There are also very narrow, turning stairs from the first floor up to the master bedroom on the second floor. There is also access onto the rear terrace which leads into the steep terraced garden. Accommodation Ground Floor: Entrance hall, 2 twin rooms, one with 3' beds and one with 2'6" beds, family bathroom with hand held shower only & WC, separate utility room. First Floor: Open plan kitchen dining area leading into a small but comfortable lounge area all with views across the river. Second Floor: Master double bedroom with 5' king sized double bed and en-suite bathroom with over bath shower & WC. Exterior: There is a rear garden which is quite steeply terraced with various levels and outstanding views of the harbour from the top level. The steps are steep and not ideal for those with mobility problems. Access to the garden is from the little patio at first floor level. There is exterior furniture and BBQ facilities but guests are advised to bring their own BBQ. Facilities & Services Heating is via gas central heating. The fully fitted modern kitchen is equipped with an electric oven & gas hob, kettle, toaster, fridge, microwave and dishwasher. In the utility room there is a separate washing machine, tumble drier and fridge freezer. In the living area there is a flatscreen digital freeview TV & DVD Player, CD & Radio & iPod Dock. Fowey (pronounced Foy) is one of the most iconic places in Cornwall. Set on the steep banks on the Fowey Estuuary, the narrow streets and alleys are just great to explore. Views of the harbour are dramatic just watching the activities in the harbour can keep you occupied for many hours! Life in Fowey revolves around the water. The local fishing fleet land the freshest catches and local specialities include mussels, oysters, clams, crab & lobster. There are some great restaurants and pubs around and nearby. Try one of Sam's restaurants or a little drive inland to the historic Crown Inn at Lanlivery is well worth the effort. Life on the water culminates in the middle of August with the Fowey Regatta Week where yacht racing takes place all week. Watch the historic Famouth Working Boats racing in the close confines of the estuary or enjoy the many festivities around the town. There are countless attractions near to Fowey including the Eden Project, Lanhydrock House & Gardens and the beautiful Luxulyan Valley. The Eden project is 3 miles Fowey 3 miles. Du Maurier Festival in May, Fowey Regatta August(ask for details). Consult the guide books & folders in the cottage & explore to your hearts content!
  • Bean Reach is a wonderful cottage in the heart of Fowey, just a couple of minutes walk into the centre. It is very well equipped and extremely comfortable. Communication with the owner at booking was efficient and the instructions very easy to follow, there was no need to communicate otherwise as everything went smoothly. Would highly recommend Beam Reach as a base for visiting Cornwall.

Surrounded by miles of delightful coast and countryside, Fowey is a charming seaside town with beautiful period houses, excellent restaurants, a good selection of small shops and a natural harbour that provides some of the best sailing waters in the county. The town is steeped in history with links to the Tudors and Elizabethans along with strong literary associations ; in particular Daphne Du Maurier.
The spacious bedroom with king sized bed, has amazing views of the river and estuary. A fully equipped kitchen contains all the facilities guests need to prepare breakfasts and make tea and coffee. The bathroom is situated next to the bedroom.
St Fimbarrus Road is one of the most sought after locations in Fowey. The access to the beach and the town are equidistant, about 15 minutes in each direction. Fowey has a good variety of shops, coffee shops and eating places. Amazing walks await you. We are close to the Eden Project and being centrally located in Cornwall, have convenient access to nearby attractions and the North Coast.
  • We had a brilliant stay in Fowey. Ali's place is situated a short walk from the centre and offers magnificent views from the window and patio area. The room itself was a lot bigger than expected and we also had access to our own kitchen, bathroom and lounge, all of which were tastefully furnished. The breakfast was self service and a good selection was provided. Ali was a great host, who made sure we had everything we needed and was very quick to respond to any queries before arrival. We would definitely stay again!

    Sam2016-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful location and view as promised and a lovely big room. The breakfast was good, the shower hot, the bed comfy... a great experience. We had a bit of trouble finding the house as there's a very offputting sign just before you turn into the road leading to St Fimbarrus saying 'no parking beyond here' or something like that. Parking is tricky as correctly described by Ali.

Clearview is positioned right at the heart of the town looking directly over the 7th Century church, 15th century Place House, and beyond to the river....
  • Absolutely beautiful house in a charming town! Initially we'd only concentrated on finding somewhere accessible for the Eden Half Marathon, but the pictures on the website looked lovely, and in person the house really blew us away. And such a breathtaking view! We all regretted not planning a longer stay!

  • Just moments from the harbour side and town of Fowey. This lovely cottage is perfect for anyone exploring this area of Cornwall. Situated on a pedestrian walkway (no noise) and seconds from the town. Well equipped, well furnished and looked after. Perfectly spacious for our family of 5. Amazing harbour views that changed everyday - from visiting yachts, china clay tankers and river ferries buzzing around. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Have already recommended.

  • Lovely cottage, is much bigger inside than it looks when you first arrive. Very well furnished and with everything you could possibly need. 3 good sized bedrooms. Every room has at least one window with a fantastic view of the river and all the little boats with their sails up, even had a cruise liner sail up the river one evening. Be prepared for some steep roads down to the town, they seem even steeper coming back up! Fowey is a nice little town with some good eating places and nice shops to wander round, not too far away from other places too, Mevagissey is well worth a trip, and St Austell.

    Robyn2017-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was very clean and cosy with beautiful views of the estuary from most windows. Location close to town centre with Fowey having many lovely eateries. No parking and location on a hill could be a problem. Fowey should reduce their weekly car park tariff !

  • Lynne's place is everything it appears to be with modern decor, clean, comfortable and well-equipped. Above all it has wonderful views over Fowey, including from the outside table with umbrella which we enjoyed in the sunny weather. We parked the car and didn't go back to it until we had to drag ourselves away 6 days later. We would love to go back, although for us as Australians it would be a long trip.

  • Everything we could have hoped for and more. Just as described. Pubs and restaurants were exellent and we feel we've come home with few extra pounds weight not money !!! Great base for exploring dog loved it but over did it and suffered a pulled muscle but with Sarah's help recommended excellent vet and has now rested and made full recovery. Would say offered very good value for money. Would return in a heart beat.

  • Home away from home, everything that you need in a holiday home. We went for a week with parents and my 4 year old kid. There is a big front lawn and back garden with nice decking and garden furniture. Sandy Toes is in one of the by lanes on Lankelly Lane which is close to many walks. We went for a few walks to Fowey, Esplanade, Gribbins Head. House is well equipped for a small family stay. Its got three bed rooms - one big and two medium-small sized. Lovely kitchen/living room and lounge. We were out most of the time as the weather turned out to be really nice all 6 days. Most of the popular places by car are only 1-2 hrs from here. There are a few games and TV rack stacked with lots of DVDs and on line entertainment like Netflix. We didn't watch much TV but they can keep you company if you are stuck at home due to bad weather. We didn't have pets so cannot comment on it. But we did see a separate room for pets. All in all a nice place to spend your holiday.

She welcomed our questions and provided helpful advice. Arrival and entry to the house was very straight-forward, even at midnight after a drive down from London. The 3 bedroom home is bright, spacious and modern. It is tastefully furnished and spotlessly clean. It seems to have been renovated in the recent past so bathrooms, the kitchen and all furnishings are quite new. The view over the river and harbour was lovely. There are 3 bathrooms, great for a family. Bedding was very comfortable. Parking was a 5 minute walk from the house, but this is standard for most of the accommodations in the village. There is a little tapas restaurant directly beneath the house that serves great Spanish food. I would recommend the home for families, friends or 2 couples.

  • Julia's place was brilliant for a special birthday w/e. Well appointed in a great location. Julia & Annie had it prepared with Birthday banners, balloons, Cake & candles. A lovely gesture. The beds were very comfortable. We would thoroughly recommend it for a holiday.

  • Julia's place is great: spacious, comfortable, central, with all the things you will need. We did not use the kitchen but it seems nothing missed, bathrooms and showers work properly, beds are really comfortable. But the best is the central position of the apartment, in front of the sea and very easy to reach. Julia is sweet and the communication is super easy. Thanks!

  • It was a wonderful stay in Julia's apartment. It was clean, large and had a central location within Fowey. I would definitely recommend renting this apartment!!

  • This is a well laid out and very comfortable flat. I admit a little apprehension when I realised it was above a tapas bar but this was in no way a problem, it is very quiet and closes at 9:00 pm so didnt bother us a bit. The view from the balcony is lovely to have breakfast and watch the various vessels coming and going in tneestuary, very peaceful. Julia is a helpful and communicative host and we enjoyed our 6 day stay vey much. Really comfortable beds too! Fowey itself is well serviced by cafes and restaurants too. Ok if you have a problem walking a few minutes to the car the maybe this isn't for you but we had no problem parking very close by when loading and unloading the car so again not a problem. It certainly didn't spoil a very happy stay.

  • This is truly a light and spacious apartment, located near the heart of Fowey. We shared the space with another couple. Perfect! Private baths and spacious common areas with views of the harbor.

  • A wonderful spacious apartment, conveniently situated in the heart of beautiful Fowey. It immediately felt like a home from home and there was a lovely welcome pack on arrival, plus we were invited by Julie, our host to help ourselves to anything in the cupboards. Julie also provided all the information we required before arrival and responded immediately after we left when we had left behind. I would certainly recommend this apartment.

  • We throughly enjoyed our time at Waterside House. The house is beautifully & stylishly presented over two floors with stunning views over the River Fowey. The whole property, especially the kitchen, is very well equipped. The main town is just a short walk away. Sarah was a welcoming & helpful host. We would definitely love to come back. Thank you!

  • Wow. What a lovely, calm, relaxing place...But wait there's more... Absolutely stunning views, with early morning sun as you look out over the river Fowey. Beautifully decorated, impeccably clean, everything you need to cook, wine, dine, inside or out (breakfast table, balcony or terrace next to river). Public car park 50m away from the front door, and easy stroll into town. Very highly recommended, best Airbnb property any of our group of 4 have stayed in. NT

  • This is a beautiful house with a lovely host who has thought of everything to make your stay easy and comfortable. It felt like a home from home. Beautiful views over the estuary. We watched the ferry go back and forth endlessly. The Aga is fabulous, easy to use and kept the house super warm. Beds comfy with nice white linen. Bring loads of £ coins to feed the meter in the car park. Loads to explore. Great pubs, shame about the tourists!

Over looking the River Fowey, in the ancient Town and Port of Fowey. The house is spaciousness with a modern decor. A great place for couples, families (with kids), and big groups. Number 34 has accommodation over three floors with stunning estuary views and a moment's walk from the heart of Fowey. This modern river fronting property is the perfect place to watch the world go by on the river whilst still having the amenities of Fowey close at hand.
  • What a wonderful house to stay in!! We had a truly fabulous time with incredible views! Thank you!

  • An amazing house in a perfect location. Careful attention to special detail - very high-end kitchen and open plan living space, lovely and warm, and lots of bathrooms for a large group of visitors. The veranda will be lovely in summer (it was a little cold to enjoy at the New Year!).

  • Katherine's house in Fowey was truly amazing and in a great location. Walking distance to the local shops and harbour but with an amazing view of the river Fowey. Situated close to a car park, which was great as we had a 9 seater bus and were doing many day trips. The view of the river is stunning and provides a great relaxing spot to watch the boats passing by. Also located very close to the car ferry which we did use on one occasion. The house itself was very clean and felt modern and fresh. All rooms were very large doubles and provided excellent space for everyone. Bathrooms were clean and everything worked as it should. I only had to contact Katherine a couple of times and she responded very quickly. The ground floor of the house is huge with space for a large dining table, excellent kitchen and large sofa seating area that looks onto the river. The kitchen was fully equipped and had everything we needed to cook for ourselves. Upon arrival there was a lovely gift basket with local produce, which was very much appreciated. There was also plenty of information provided for things to do in Cornwall and the local area. Everyone had a great time and I would highly recommend this place to stay at for your Cornwall holiday.

  • Katherine's house in Fowey was absolutely brilliant! Me and my 9 friends had a great stay in this gorgeous house! Everything was so beautifully clean and modern, with plenty of bathrooms and lovely showers. The sitting room is the highligh as its huge windows look right out over the river and we all loved sitting here on the very comfortable sofas relaxing in the morning sunshine. The house is very spacious with plenty of room and all the kitchen equipment you might need for a big group like ours. We loved the location as it's right in the middle of the little town of Fowey - very easy to nip out to shops and cafes and walk down to the small beaches. There are plenty of walks to do nearby which we enjoyed being so close to. There is no parking at the house but we found a free car park about 10 minutes walk away called Squires Car park (beside the primary school) which is very handy. Katherine and her team were great hosts - they were in good contact with us and let us know everything we needed for the stay. I would definitely recommend staying in this great house - it's brilliant value for money for such a lovely place in such a great location.

    Louise2017-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • The location was perfect. The house was amazing and very clean. Don't forget to bring crab lines for the slipway! Parking at Caffa Mill was easy although I think in the past we have been able to park in any of the town car parks with the same parking ticket. A new but not welcome innovation for Fowey.

    Sue2017-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • House was fabulous and in an amazing location. Ideal for a large family of all ages like ours. The village of fowey is beautiful and well worth the visit. The only criticism is that Parking is a slight problem in high season .

Our house is a stunning Victorian villa situated on the Esplanade, enjoying envious views across to Polruan and the sea. This bright and airy property benefits from a balcony, garden and terrace area with table and chairs. The house boosts a large open plan living/dining area with a balcony providing beautiful panoramic views of the river - perfect for a morning coffee or evening drink. For the younger members of the group, there is a sun-room which makes a great play room.
Please note, the childrens bedroom sleeps three and is bunk beds with a slide out single below
FOOD & DRINK You certainly won’t go hungry while in Fowey - see below for our list of favourite places to eat out in Fowey. Evening Meals: The Quay House Hotel, The Globe and King of Prussia Family Friendly: Sams, The Gaeollon and Haveners Cafes, Lunch & Light Bites: Brown Sugar, Pinky Murphy, The Lifebouy and Pintxo Tea Rooms: The Dwelling House and The Well House International: Tai Pan and Sunny Spice SHOPPING There are several well-loved brand stores in Fowey (Sea Salt, Joules, Fat Face, and Mountain Warehouse) but its real charm lies with the wide range of boutique, unique and independent shops. Spend hours browsing them for clothes, homewares, crafts, glassware, art, antiques, books, seaside knick-knacks, traditional children toys and don't forget the old fashioned sweet shop! There are also several bakeries and the fabulous Kittows deli. With two local stores, there may be no supermarket in Fowey, but you'll still find everything you need here. And all the major supermarkets will deliver online shopping as well. THINGS TO SEE & DO In the centre of Fowey there is also a sweet little aquarium, and a local museum – both are worth a peek! Fowey has a 14th church and a 15th century castle fort. There are a variety of activities on the water, ranging from organised boat trips to canoe hire. The closest permanent is Ready Money Cove, which has clean sands and is perfect for swimming. There is also a tidal sea-pool hidden away at the Whitehouse Pier! Within a five-ten minute drive, you can be at Polkerris beach and Par Sands, and within a half hour drive there is Carlyon Bay, Charlestown, Porthpean, Pentewan and Mevagissey. There are many thousands of miles of fantastic walks in Cornwall. The South West Coastal Path alone winds 630 miles around the county, and The Saints Way is 27 miles from Fowey on the south coast, right across to Padstow on the north coast. The Fowey Hall Walk is much more manageable at 4 miles! Whether you enjoy the sea, woods, rivers, moors or fields, you will not be disappointed with the walks in Cornwall. The closest major attractions are The Eden Project and The Lost Gardens Of Heligan. They really do have something for everyone and make a most enjoyable day out for child and adults. For the green-fingered travellers, there are also many other great gardens - in fact, there are 12 Great Gardens of Cornwall! If you’re looking for somewhere for the kids, check out Camel Creek, Springfields, Dairyland, Kidzworld at Cornucopia, Indoor Active, Newquay Zoo or Porfell Wildlife Centre.A small list of the many hundreds of places for families to visit! "The Smugglers Blues” is a traditional eighteenth century former fisherman's cottage situated in the quiet heart of the famous, picturesque, and vibrant fishing village of Fowey; one of the most renowned and beautiful riverside villages in Cornwall.
Ideally situated on Rose Hill, it gives quick access; just 4/5 minutes’ walk; to the bustling village, yet is set back enough to maintain a quiet and tranquil setting for those moments of relaxation and rest which is an essential part of any holiday. The village offers everything you could want; a wide and varied selection of shops from clothing, arts and craft, food/wine, and souvenirs; an extensive selection of pubs, bistros, and restaurants offering standard pub fayre all the way up to award winning fine cuisine. (word of warning; from experience the walk back up the hill can be a tad longer than the 4/5 minute walk down; not least depending on how much nightlife you sample ?) The charming quayside offers a variety of ferry rides; including the five minute ride over to Polruan, fishing cruises, and self-drive motor boat hire… as well the opportunity to try your hand at crabbing and shrimping off the harbour wall. The beautiful Readymoney beach is a sight inspiring 10 minute walk from the village centre taking in some of the fantastic harbour and sea views that Fowey offers. And for those not so great days; which our great country does “occasionally” experience, there is a great selection of books and board games. For the more visual minded, there is an extensive DVD collection; ranging from children’s movies, romantic comedies, action movies, box sets, thrillers, B/W classics, naturally there are a few James Bond’s to be found, and for any rugby fans; well there’s enough to keep you busy for a few days, especially if you’re a Lions fan. For any budding surfers, you have the benefits of some true classics..
My top tips for Fowey: going out, The Galleon is great on a sunny day sitting by the river, Lugger does great food and beers (simple and effective), King of Prussia (great food again), and if you fancy it, book a window table a day or so in advance(gives a good view out over the Quay and river), the Royal British Legion/Working Mans Club on the quay; I am a member here and like it because of the simplicity and Tribute is £2.50 a pint, plus it has sky sports and they will tend to show anything you ask for. (I think a family membership for the week is £5.00). “Food for Thought” is very good, but can get pricey once you add the drinks on. The Boat House (owned the FFT people) is ok.. but I think pricey for a pizza joint. Haven’t tried the Indian, but the Chinese is ok (just watch their adding up though when it comes to the bill). The Lugger across the river at Polruan is on the upward curve and food is great, plus if you have an afternoon pint, there is sitting area just by the docks and a small beach which catches all the afternoon sun. However, despite all those, I have to say my absolute favourite is “Sam’s Bistro” on the main street, just before the Quay House Hotel… lovely vibrant atmosphere, great and attentive staff, and great food. It can be a wait at times (you can’t book), but it really is well worth the wait… and its open all day. Be warned if you go for the bouillabaisse… absolutely don’t order a starter, it’s a beast of a meal (probably best just to have breakfast and save yourself.. but a fantastic meal 

  • James provided milk, bread and beer on arrival - very welcoming! The cottage is the perfect location for a week away in Cornwall. Fowey is lovely in winter if you don't want to do much, which was fine by us. Havener's Restaurant is great, as is the tiny little tapas bar on the esplanade. The Aquarium however, unlike it's billing as 'unmissable', is truly dire.

    Julian2016-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great location.. easy access to everything if you are reasonably fit for the uphill walk after a night out :)

  • This cottage is charming with comfortable beds, the double has a great view of the rooftops of Fowey from the bed. Sitting room just right for flopping after a day's walking.area also very comfortable. There is a good decked area for eating outside. Will certainly rent again location was perfect .Kind Regards Denise

    Denise2017-04-25T00:00:00Z
  • This house really was a home from home, the bedrooms and living area were extremely comfortable and well thought out and communication with James was forthcoming, helpful & warm. Fowey was lovely and we were just a short walk down the hill (there's a footpath through next to the church) to the harbour. We parked next to the house to unload and found it easy to park in Green Lane around the corner during our stay (although we were there in March I guess during the summer months you may need to venture up to the car park in Park Road). We have had a fabulous 4 nights and from Fowey we visited Polruan by passenger Ferry, Charlestown, Mevagissey, St Mawes, Falmouth (via King Harry car ferry), Leryn & Polperro (via Bodinnick car ferry). We ate Beef Bourgignon in the Ship Inn in Fowey, we had the carvery in the Lugger in Polruan (as recommended by James), Cornish pasties in Mevagissey, cream teas on the balcony of the Fowey Hotel and prawns in Sam's on the Beach in Polkerris and all of the food we had was fantastic. I highly recommend James' cottage and all of the places mentioned above.

  • It's a beautiful place to stay. Fowey is a lovely town and you can start very beautiful hikes at the south west coast trail directly from there. Lucy's home is wonderful. The room is very bright and perfectly clean! The view stunning and the bed is very comfy (I tried it out an entire day because of a cold). It's great to have a bathroom just for yourself. Breakfast was delicious and I really enjoyed my conversations with Lucy. She's a lovely and smart person and knows a lot about the area! All her recommendations were worth to discover. I'll definitely come back one day and it would be a pleasure to stay again with Lucy. Thank you for making my days in Fowey that special! Highly recommended!

But, using the kitchen is not part of the agreement, so this is just a B&B option not somewhere you can cook your own meals too. We had a lovely time and would recommend it.

Cosy cottage for couples to families, private south facing balcony with bbq, panoramic views over Fowey estuary, Private boat, 30mins from Eden project, beautiful walks and beaches on the door step.
Stunning views over the river Fowey. Amazing balcony, a real sun trap. Can be a cosy retreat for two or easily accommodate 8. Located only a stone throw from the quay which has two superb pubs and a great beach. The house is split over 3 floors; 1st floor comprises of an open plan kitchen & dining area leading through to the lounge. On the opposite side of the house this leads to a utility area with washer and dryer, then moving onward to two bunk beds and the downstairs shower and bathroom. 2nd floor is the family room with a sofa bed and a superb view across the estuary, leading off this room is a set of double doors outside to the balcony and bbq. Also on this floor is a further bunk room and another bathroom. 3rd floor is the master bedroom with ensuite shower, again with a superb aspect over the estuary. Access to the house is off East street up a flight of stairs and along the front of the property on a shared footpath. This is the ideal spot to unload luggage. There are two car parks in the village, one as you enter the village on the left hand side and St. Saviours car park further down towards the house sign posted on the left. Or alternatively there can be spaces found on the quay. All are chargeable. We recommend driving down Fore street then reversing up east street to unload, then parking is easiest at St Saviours.
Beautiful scenery, great walking, excellent restaurants, superb beaches and water activities.
  • Lovely place, amazing use of space. Views are truly breathtaking, always something to watch.

  • We stayed in the house for the first two nights of our honeymoon in Cornwall and it was a perfect start. The house was spotlessly clean with fresh bedding and towels and the kitchen has everything you need. But it's the view that does it, you cannot beat that beautiful view. We didn't meet Ross but it was easy to communicate with him. There is a lovely pub on the harbour, the lugger, which did great food and ale, just a few minutes walk away.

  • Great location. Regular Ferry to Fowey to eat and shop.

  • Ross was very welcoming, told us that he lived nearby and that we should contact him if we needed anything. The accommodation is just as described and the view is just like in the image - great. Given the layout of the house (on three levels) it's easy to find your own space while being under the same roof as everyone else. It's in a very quite part of the town, yet less than five minutes to the water, pubs and shops.

  • We really enjoyed our weekend here, it had the most stunning view and was just a lovely place, very cosy! Ross was fantastic- very quick to respond to any questions I had about the area or about the property. We had a fantastic time and would definitely recommend coming here! Thank you!

  • Thanks Ross for a great stay! A really lovely house in an idyllic location. Met all of our needs and the balcony with the superb views was a great added bonus.
