  • Ann Marie's place is very spacious plenty of room for the two of us. We used the double room only but saw that all spaces were stylishly presented. The bed was comfy, in fact best sleep we had in weeks! We went to the bar downstairs for a drink and were welcomed by the barman and a couple of locals. A very enjoyable stay. Thanks!

  • The Welcome Inn is a lovely apartment above a pub. Despite its location, it was quiet at night. The apartment was quite spacious, and we easily could have slept 7-8. Large kitchen and living area. Very clean. Highly recommended!

  • Beautiful house & great communication!

    Aisling2018-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Coming from Australia with my three daughters, aged 15,13 and 11, I was completely flabbergasted at how lovely Joann’s house is. We had a heap of room for all four of us including two living areas, two bathrooms and a beautiful sun room. Every query before we arrived and there were a lot, Joann answered quickly and without fuss. We were met at the property by Ann, Joann’s mother and she gave us the tour and was so accommodating. Thank you Joann and Ann. I will be recommending you to all my family who come to visit my brother and his family in Forkhill.

  • I couldnt give this place one fault. From beginning until end, we felt so welcomed and everything was perfect. The whole space was clean, the fire kept us nice and cosy and I can’t wait to come back. Roisin has thought of everything and more. Thanks for the amazing experience 😊 5 STARS !!!!

  • a great apartment in a quiet location. very cozy

    Henrik2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect, absolutely spotless cozy stay! Felt like we were staying at a hotel. Perfect location and extremely friendly hosts.

    Savannah2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • We decided spontaneously for the host, Roisin promised us immediately. The check-in was easy, since they live in the upper house and you personally have to pick up the key. It is then shown where you can park and how everything works in the loft. It is a very classy furnished old hay storage -won of which one does not notice anymore. It was so clean, you could almost have eaten! In the kitchen there is everything you need and in the bathroom there is uncomplicated hot water :) Oh yes ... for bad weather or long evenings there is a TV with Netflix. Unfortunately we did not find any board games.

  • The accommodation was all we expected and more. The kitchen was well equipped. Our stay was on a frosty winter's night but the place was lovely and warm on our arrival and was really appreciated. The canine welcoming committee were a delight to meet and set the tone of this being home away from home.

Just a great place to stay. And the 12 O'clock checkout makes all the difference. Oh, and I'm not an animal person and even I loved her big friendly dogs. 10/10

  • We had a fantastic time staying in this cottage for 2 nights. It was a beautiful way to disconnect from our busy lives and spend some quiet time reading, eating and exploring the area. The beds were comfy, the cottage was warm and thanks to the instructions sent to us soon after booking - we had no problems locating the place, even at 9pm at night with no Google map to guide us!

    Kayleigh2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very unique place with a lovely old-time feel to it. Really enjoyed our stay in a very rural, isolated setting. Would definitely recommend, and hope to visit again in the future.

  • We had 3 great days. The communication was very easy, pleasant and fast. Teresa was there when we arrived with a nice touch (breakfast the next day was in the fridge). Secluded but friendly place in the middle of the northern Irish countryside. The bar across the street is nice.

    Pierre2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice house in a peaceful location. Teresa was a very good host. The kids loved visiting the donkeys in the field next door.

    Kieran2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Teresa was a wonderful host. The house is beautiful and ideally placed for the family wedding we attended at Dromintee church. Teresa greeted our family warmly and was generous with her time and hospitality. I would highly recommend this property. It is in an ideal setting, close to several main areas whilst still providing a little secluded escape. We loved seeing the donkeys too!

    Jemma2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Teresa's over the All Ireland Fleadh and while it was a drive from Drougheda it was well worth it,the house was immaculate!the scenery was spectacular, the peace and quiet was welcome and there isn't a negative thing to say!Myself and the family would be delighted to return again. Thanks Teresa.

    Una2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • This was by far the best AirBnB experience we ever had. Teresa went over and above making us feel at home. Clean, spacious (for all of us), lots of sunlight, feeding the donkeys. If we had a question, she answered it right away, and even helped us in our research of Irish heritage. We'll be back some day.

    Robert2019-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I have stayed in many air bnbs before and this is one of the nicest houses we’ve stayed in. We travelled with my husband’s family (7 of us total) and there was plenty of room for all of us. The location seemed remote at first, but it had everything we needed from a small grocery store less than 10 minutes away to a friendly local pub down the street. Teresa was a wonderful host! I would definitely stay here again!

    Gemma2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • 100% recommendable. Really cozy and well decorated house, it is always spotless, well maintained. The bedroom is totally out of this planet!! It is the best bed I have ever slept in, stylish and functional bathroom, extraordinary kitchen and living room. Nevertheless, the best of the house is Caroline and Jim, they are warm and friendly people, I only regret I had no time enough to spend with them. Location on a quiet place out of the town noise.

    Pablo2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Caroline's place is a beautiful place in very green surroundings its just off the main motorway, its very quiet and idyllic and Caroline and Jim are very friendly accommodating hosts. When I arrived I did not want to go back out to get some takeaway food so I was invited to sit down and have a lovely meal with the family complete with a Glass(es) of wine :-)

    Martin2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • I had a wonderful stay at Caroline's beautiful home. The room was really cosy and confortable. Our two hosts were really welcoming and thoughful. They made me feel at home. They gave me nice advice for outings and dining. The house is also easy to fing and just off the M1 which was quite convenient , I was just 5 min from my venue. I would definately come back!

  • Caroline's place was the perfect Airbnb experience for us! She was a super friendly, kind and helpful host. We had a tough day travelling and we couldn't have asked for a better place to arrive to! The house is super quirky and the room was lovely. We had some great chats with Caroline and her family and they helped us out with a lift to our broken down car and cooked us a lovely veggie breakfast! Lovely genuine people that you can have a good laugh with! Will definitely stay again if we're in the area! Thanks so much!

    Daniel2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • First, Caroline and her husband were incredibly welcoming and hospitable. They offered excellent advice and local perspective on nearby walks, drives and entertainment. The house was beautifully decorated and we found the bed to be very comfortable. They also offered a mean breakfast that carried us through a long day of hiking. We would absolutely stay here again.

    Kathleen2019-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great night chatting with Caroline and Jim which is exactly the reason we try to do Airbnb for a more local experience. We got on so well and felt at home. The house is amazing and the bed super comfy. No noise when we went to bed but as it’s a little out of town you will need to drive for eating as too far to walk though. Shower room is downstairs but toilet upstairs so no problem there. Would highly recommend!!

Our hosts Shane & Áine made us feel very welcome and even had the kitchen basics of bread, milk & butter in for us and some treats. The loft apartment is beautifully decorated and very modern and comfortable. We are a family of 6 and there was plenty of room for us all. 2 double beds upstairs for the kids and we slept on the pullout sofa bed. An extra bonus for us was a lovely big TV with Netflix so we all watched a movie together each night after our days exploring the beautiful countryside. The apartment is ideally located and close to lots of villages & towns and very close to Slieve Gullion Forest Park which is well worth a visit as is Carlingford (approx 30 min drive). All in all we had a great few days in a lovely apartment in a beautiful part of Ireland. We honestly couldn’t fault our hosts or their apartment and would recommend it to anyone.

  • I was looking for a quiet getaway to clear my head and unplug, and Bernie’s place was spot on! It is a beautiful, quaint, simple place to relax. While there’s much to explore right around it, I was there to just relax. Bernie was super helpful with my questions and gave good recommendations for dinner. Get away from the busyness and go check in here!

  • My family, including two young boys, have just had a wonderful weekend at the cottage. It was spotless, warm and cosy and had all we needed. The books, toys and Netflix were very much appreciated by the children, as well as the view of cows munching grass whilst they ate their breakfast! Great location for the trip to Tayto Park. Many thanks

  • Cottage was perfectly clean. Very nice bedrooms with amazing views and also very important: comfortable bed and pillows ( Always hard to find during holidays, here was perfect) Kitchen has also all you could need. The living room is not very big but it is cosy. Also nice: they have a good smart TV where you can use Netflix and other stream services. You have no neighbours around, so it is really quiet and peacefull.

  • Great host , lovely accommodation and the location is perfect to get away & relax from it all and will back for sure

  • Bernie’s cottage is the ideal getaway and perfectly located for exploring the area. The house is surrounded by stunning mountain scenery - looking out the window at breakfast each morning was a treat. There’s loads to discover in the area, our personal favourite was Slieve Gullion park. It’s just a short drive away with a huge forest walk, a modern playground and a Fairy village and Giant’s lair for the kids to enjoy. The house is lovely – a large spacious kitchen and a cosy sitting room with a stove for those cold winter nights. Will definitely be back for another break!

  • Beautiful place, very warm and cosy. Sandra was amazing and couldn’t do enough to help, we had a problem with our car so she politely changed the dates for us when we’d gone past the 24 hour notice period and could easily have been charged and one night we were out she went and put the heating on so that place was lovely and warm when when we got back. Would highly recommend.

  • The best lodging my wife and I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing in any country and any venue. • Our stay in Sandra and Terry's was beautiful. A lovely, clean and stylish space with views of Irish fields, it's the perfect getaway for a relaxing break. Sandra was a wonderful host. She's a friendly and warm woman with some hilarious stories that kept us smiling on our way back to Dublin. We'll be back ASAP. We can't thank Sandra and Terry enough for allowing us to stay in their gorgeous cottage.

  • We spent a night in Sandra’s cottage and had a very pleasant stay. It was clean, quite and it went above my expectations. She even offered us some local products for breakfast, never had such a tasty milk and butter before!

  • This cottage is special, tucked away on a small farm, meticulously maintained, modernized with full amenities (washer, coffee press, nice stove/oven, etc.) They are wonderful host/hostess, accommodating in every way. The cottage sits about an hour to Belfast and 1.5 hours to Dublin, 30 minutes over the magnificent mountains to Newcastle seaside town. Surrounded by country but close to the small village of Crossmaglen and 1/2 hour drive to Newry (castle, Slieve Gullion, etc.) Fully recommend this place without reservation.

Jack's Bus is located in the beautiful and peaceful Bluebell Lane Glamping site. 22 acres of planted wood land and meadow with full facilities for guests. Search Bluebell Lane Glamping for more details. The bus is a 1989 Leyland that has been lovingly converted into living accomodation with a full kitchen, toilet (shower is located 30 meters from the bus), dining room and living room with 360 degree views of the Ring of Gullion from the top deck. The bus can sleep 4 adults and 1 child.
  • Loads of room on this bus for kids and adults or couples sharing. The books and boardgames were great to have. No WiFi or 4g was able to be picked up by our phones which we didn't mind. The bus doesn't have a shower but there are showers on site, we weren't sure if we could have used them? It has a lovely little toilet downstairs, upstairs is the bedrooms with plenty of space. Good car parking available and decking to the rear for outdoor dining in nice weather. There is a cooker, microwave, small fridge etc so you can cook away. Bring bottled water as the tap water was not great. Overall a great unique experience that I would recommend others to try.

    Emma2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • The bus is a great place to stay, we had a great time here! We will definitely be back!

  • If you want a quiet getaway - there is no better place! We went with our two children (6&8 yrs) and they absolutely loved it!! Such a quirky space, well thought out, excellently equipped and very clean. Lovely comfortable beds (and what a view!), towels and even a hairdryer were supplied. Kitchen brilliant also, there was even tinfoil, clingfilm, storage containers. The bus is parked on a site called Bluebell Lane Glamping - its gorgeous. Exceptionally clean campers kitchen again fully equipped. Fantastic shower facilities and kids play area.. our kids brought their bikes and were happy out cycling around completely safe. There's also a fire pit, BBQ & Pizza oven. Cool glamping pods onsite and an amazing 2 room safari tent! We spent most of our time in the nearby Forest and it was wonderful. Great space for kids and an amazing play area. We had such a good time we stayed an extra night - Jack was very obliging. Would certainly come back, great place to chill out and plug out (no phone reception never mind wifi!). Well done Jack and thanks for the hospitality, best of luck with the bus I am sure you will have many happy customers in the future!

There is a beautiful view of Slieve Gullion in the background, which has a great adventurous area called the giants lair where kids and adults alike can explore and expand their imagination with giants, pixies and fairies. I’ll be sure to spread the word if I hear of anyone stopping by the area to stay at the Clonlum Holiday Cottages. There are 3 to choose from with two double bedrooms and also a comfortable pull out sofa bed if required.

I was welcomed to a lovely fire and a clean house on arrival. Majella had even left milk etc for me which was a lovely touch. There was also spare bedding and towels there too.

  • Outstanding hosts with a warm and friendly welcome. Ciaran, Majella and family made us feel at home in their lovely sparkling clean home (food and drinks for you to use). They have superb attention to detail (they had baked us a loaf of bread and fresh scones for our arrival. They had also set the travel cot up and had an array of toys and teddy’s for our little girl to use during our stay. They also gave us a personal guided tour of their mushroom farm as they live only a couple of doors away. Ciaran and Majella were on hand for any queries or to offer local information. We feel that we have made friends for life and will certainly be visiting again with more family in tow.

  • We stayed here as a family of 5, we would highly recommend this beautiful cottage, in the heart of the country side. Extremely clean. Like a home from home. Everything was thought of. Thankyou so much to Ciaran and Majella. We will return again too!

  • Ciaran and his parents were the best hosts I have ever experienced. House is lovely, facilities are fantastic. Location is short drive from Newry and Dundalk. It was great to see hosts who put some heart in what they do. We will definitely go back again as we felt at Rosie and Jims bungalow like home!

This beautiful Georgian house was built as a parsonage around 1810. This house nestles in mature gardens in the peaceful countryside in Balriggan in County Louth. The house has been beautifully restored keeping the authenticity of the building.
Because of the Georgian history of this house, the rooms are spacious with very high ceilings and crown moldings. The beautiful shuttered sash windows overlook the mature gardens and surrounding farmland.
Drive 45 minutes to the royal county of Meath, and visit the historic World Heritage site at Newgrange. This site predates the Egyptian Pyramids. You can visit Trim Castle, the largest Norman castle in Ireland, where part of the movie Brave Heart was filmed. The Hill of Tara, once an ancient seat of power in Ireland, is well worth a visit. Enjoy your stay in this mystical part of Ireland’s Ancient East.
  • We loved Forthill House and would definitely consider coming again. The rooms are really generous in size, the kitchen was more than we needed to handle meals for our large group, the location was wonderful only an hour from Dublin. The gardens are wonderful for the kids, with places to explore and play and the swing/slide set. We adventured in Castle Roche and Slieve Gullion and Dundalk town is only minutes away for any last minute needs. Our hosts were very helpful. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

  • Beautiful, spacious old Irish Manor house close to Dundalk town and all amenities. We were a group of siblings and their children over from Florida and Australia for a family wedding. Even though we were perished with the cold weather, the home was lovely and warm with loads of fireplaces and central heating. Nice touches throughout and loads of space for a large group.

    Angela2019-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Words cannot describe the most fantastic family vacation we had staying at Fort Hill. Sean, the property manager and brother of Margaret made sure all of our expectations were met or exceeded! I would highly recommend this historic home that has all the modern appointments. The property is perfect for young families which includes a beautiful play house in large swingset.

    Kevin2019-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here as a group of 8 adults, 2 children and 2 babies as a surprise 70th birthday celebration. Communication ahead of the day was second to none. Our welcome was perfect. The house is exceptionally clean, a big spacious house, filled with games, books, and everything you need to settle for a relaxed weekend. The grounds were ideal for the children with space to play games, a play-house, swing set etc. Slieve Gullion, just a 5 min drive, is a must visit with children. Playground, adventure trail, and coffee shop. We had a truly memorable stay. Would highly recommend. Thank you.

  • The house was perfect, exactly what we were looking for. A party of 12 people and everyone loved it. Beds were comfortable, the house was very clean and there was loads of room for everyone. Great big garden. we arrived for check in and they had the fire going for us with loads of wood and coal. there was a welcome pack of essentials for us, bread, milk, juice ect. which was a lovely touch. Communication was great and always very quick. would stay here again and would highly recommend it to others.

    Edel2018-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Forthill is an absolutely beautiful house. The host met our group in person at check-in and was really lovely. The house was well equipped and there were lots of nice little touches- plenty of books and games to keep us all entertained. The house is located up a country lane but is only a short drive in to Dundalk. We had a really fantastic weekend at Forthill and would be happy to recommend.

  • Great cottage with amazing views of the mountains and great communal outdoor space. Really comfy with all amenities you will need. The cottage is dog friendly which was great for us with so many walks nearby and a big field behind the house for our dog to run about. My niece loved the swings in the garden. We only stayed one night but this house would be perfect for a longer break. Rowan gave us great local tips - good pubs and places to eat. Would definitely return and recommend to family and friends.

Our newly-renovated barn and adjacent cottage are located in Ravensdale in the scenic Cooley peninsula, close to historic Carlingford village yet just an hour from Dublin & Belfast. Two great properties right beside each other - perfect for a large group, two families or an extended family gathering. Light-filled comfortable rooms contrast with cosy and traditional spaces, amazing views and all mod-cons including a wood-fired oven and a sauna/wet-room - you won't want to leave!
The Barn and the Cottage is are two contrasting and unique adjacent properties, perfect for a large group, two families who would like to holiday together but still have some space or an extended family gathering. The "barn", as the name suggests, was an original animal outhouse, but the cows have moved out to make way for an architect-designed make-over with a large open-plan living / dining area with a cathedral ceiling and feature floor-to-ceiling windows to make the most of the stunning views. Newly-added features including an outdoor pizza oven and a wet-room with rain-shower and sauna complete the experience. Briefly, the barn's sleeping accommodation includes a double bedroom, a second bedroom with a single bed and bunks with a trundle bed and a loft/playroom with a double sofa bed. The bathroom has a large bath and toilet, wash-hand basin and shower. Downstairs is a fully fitted kitchen with breakfast bar, a bright living/dining room with a Danish wood-burning stove, and a wet-room with a rain-shower and cedar wood sauna. The cottage is a traditional Irish stone cottage that has been sensitively renovated to combine the best of old and new. Briefly, the downstairs accommodation includes a hall leading to a cosy kitchen with dining area and traditional hearth, a living room complete with stove fire and a shower room and toilet. Upstairs is a good size double bedroom, and a loft with a large sofa bed and a seating area. Outdoors, apart from the views and lots of garden space, there are two large patio areas with seating for 10, a Weber barbeque and a newly-installed pizza oven (best pizza of your life in 3 minutes flat!) We also have a charging station for electric cars. Facilities for the children are fantastic. As well as a mountain on their doorstep to explore, an outdoor hammock and tyre swing will keep them occupied in the summer. There is also a 13-foot trampoline for bouncy fun, a dedicated play-room and, for the younger ones a swing, see-saw & slide set. A range of outdoor games including hoopla, boules, etc, will also keep them busy. Some of the other facilities and conveniences include: - wireless internet access - TV, DVD player and stereo - Nespresso coffee machine - Dishwasher, washing machine and dryer - Hob, oven, microwave and fridge freezer - Lots and lots of books and board games We also have a cleaning lady who will be available during your stay and a gardener who keeps the place looking nice.
The property is in a hamlet called Ravensdale, near the town of Dundalk and close to the heritage town of Carlingford. It is an hour or so drive from both Dublin and Belfast airports.
  • We had a very lovely stay at Ros' place. The house is gorgeous and the view is amazing. The house is very well equipped, very cosy and very clean! All what you can hope for when you rent a place. Nuala, the person who welcomed us on our arrival is very friendly and made sure we had everything needed. The location of the house is perfect, very close to Dundalk and Carlingford. (But a car is necessary of course to stay in this area and access shops etc). I highly recommend Ros' place for a friends of family get together. Thanks Ros!

    Anne-Laure2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • The views here are spectacular and the hospitality was top notch. The cottage was so cute and the barn was nicely updated. We had amazing pizzas from the outdoor pizza oven. Nuala was a dream and Ros responded to questions very quickly.

  • Our weekend away at this spectacular location and home has been truely memorable for all the best reasons. Amazing views from every window, even the local sheep came by to say hello. The cosy and homely house and barn were well equipped with everything we needed and our host Ros was helpful with every request I sent her. We spend this weekend away with our family as a surprise 60th birthday celebration for my husband and we leave it with happy memories which will stay with us for a long long time. Thank you.

    Beth2019-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Ros's home was even better that the pictures suggest. The views are spectacular and there are some beautiful walks close to the house. Would highly recommend for families/groups.

  • Fantastic home, really authentic Irish experience. Area is magnificent and neighbors were very kind and helpful. Will visit again!

  • This is a fantastic house in a really nice location. Views from the house are amazing. Perfect for a group of friends that wants a relaxing time. Amenities are great: sauna, wood oven pizza, BBQ... Less than an hour from Dublin airport, yet so secluded. Every is done to make you feel like at home. I highly recommand Ros’ property.

    Nicolas2018-05-02T00:00:00Z
  • I visited the Barn and Cottage with my family of 5; my wife and I plus three kids ages 5, 3, and 1. We all stayed in the Barn very comfortably and for two of the nights even hosted a friend staying with us. Our friends, a married couple, stayed in the Cottage. Our stay at the Barn was fantastic. The home itself is beautifully furnished, but also very cosy. It truly looks like something out of an interior design magazine. The home is about a 5 minute drive to the major highway that runs between Dublin and Belfast. Both cities are about an hour away so we took several day trips, but there's plenty to do around County Louth as well. I highly recommend a stop over to Slieve Gullion. There's a wonderful walking trail with a fantasy theme that my 5 and 3 year old absolutely loved, and also a large playground. Ros was very responsive to any questions we had and prepared a wonderful welcome book with pictures that covered just about everything you'd want to know about the home with recommendations for the area. She set up a baby crib for our 1 year old prior to our arrival and had the house stocked with change mat and high chair which was very convenient. Finally, the property manager Nuala is an absolute gem, and should be listed as a national treasure in Ireland. She came by to check in on us several times during our stay to make sure we were getting on alright, and every visit with her was wonderful. I will always remember our stay, and as much as my family loves to explore new places my kids are already wondering when we can go back to Ireland. I highly recommend Ros's place, and look forward to a chance to return!

    Michael2018-04-13T00:00:00Z
  • I visited the Barn and cottage with my family who were visiting Ireland for a family wedding. We visit Ireland a lot but are new to Co. Louth and were not let down. The county is beautiful (even in October). The views from the barn are just stunning. The directions were great and kept the kids occupied looking for 'the house with the red windows' - I would try and have a good person riding up front to help with roads as the sign posts can be pretty difficult to spot. The lane up to the cottage isn't for the faint hearted, we burnt some rubber but got there in the end! The place has lots of space but not too big to feel you're too far from everyone. In our group were Mum & Dad in their 60's, myself, boyfriend, 2 sisters, brother in law and their two children (11 & 8). There was honestly something for everyone, a play room, lots of board games, CD player (and a CD collection that kept us all in good spirits) along with a docking station. I hadn't remembered/read about the sauna and so that came at a very welcomed surprise to everyone. The only negative would be that we didn't stay longer! Amazing stay, we wanted for nothing. Ros answered any queries almost immediately. I'm not one for visiting the same place twice but I will definitely be returning to Cooley!

The property is located in Ravensdale, a small picturesque village in the heart of the beautiful Cooley peninsula. Located at the top of a country lane, the house has stunning views down over Dundalk bay, County Louth. Often referred to as ‘The Wee County’, Louth is the smallest county in Ireland and steeped in Irish folklore and legend. Well known for the old religious settlements of Monasterboice and Mellifont Abbey; the Unesco World Heritage site of Newgrange and historic, magical Carlingford (Ireland's European Destination of Excellence) are also close by. The North Antrim coast with its famous "Giants Causeway" and Carokeel Bridge is also within easy reach. Yet the property is just an hour drive from Dublin and Belfast - with all the attractions these wonderful and very different cities have to offer. Nearby attractions include hiking (literally out the back gate!), great mountain biking trails and horse-riding at the nearby award-winning Ravensdale Equestrian Centre. We are also just 20 minutes from the sea-side with safe swimming (if a bit cold!) and good fishing facilities. Louth's coastline, a wild-life sanctuary, is also a haven for birdwatching. Carlingford Adventure Centre provides a wide range of water and land-based activities and caters for all ages and abilities - a great half or full day out. Carlingford is also home to the unique Ghan house, an 18th Century Georgian house and restaurant, with its own acclaimed cookery school. There are some excellent golf courses little more than a 9 iron away including Baltray, Blackrock and the famous Portmarnock Links course further down the motorway. Horse-racing or dog-racing at Dundalk stadium is a fun night out and Dundalk town itself has lots to offer including plenty of shops and restaurants, a bowling alley, an ice-dome, cinema, etc. North of the border, Newry offers good value for money shopping and the outlet clothing village at Banbridge, just a short drive away. You will not go hungry or thirsty! Fitzpatricks - the original Irish pub and restaurant – will collect you and bring you home (at no charge!). PJ O' Hare's pub in Carlingford is great craic with live music every night and the perfect pint of Guinness guaranteed. Meanwhile, Ravensdale country market every Saturday or Strangfield House will keep you in scones, freshly baked bread and organic vegetables. We have a fully stocked folder with lots of maps and guides to local restaurants and amenities so you can make the most out of your stay. We defy you to be bored! You will find as much or as little as you want to do, right on your doorstep......
  • A beautiful house in a stunning location, yet so near Dublin and Newry. Every need was catered for so we could relax and make the most of our short break. A real home from home feel. We availed of the courtesy bus to Fitzpatrick's Restaurant on the Saturday night....what an added bonus. Couldn't recommend this house highly enough.

  • Ros's place in Ravensdale is wonderful. From the personal touch of the basket of Irish goodies upon arrival to the lovely and hospitable Nuala who managed the property for Ros my family had a perfect stay from beginning to end. The house has a lot of character and plenty of space for a group of 4 or 5. The yard and views are incredible and the house is super cozy if it is a cold day. I live in Ireland and my family stayed here while visiting, I will definitely be booking this home for them again.

  • If you want to be quiet with breathtaking scenery The Barn is the place to go, very well equipped, very comfortable, with lots of space. 1 hour drive from Dublin and Belfast. Near large areas. What more, to discover and we will come back ....

  • The Barn was a fantastic home in a stunning location, just perfect for enjoying a relaxing long-weekend exploring the area with our young family. A lovely, warm home which enjoys the the most outstanding views. A huge thank you to Ros and Nuala for the very warmest welcome and care during our stay.

  • You can't beat the views you get at this location. It is quiet, yet would be family-friendly (we had all adults, but is set up for kids too). All the comforts of home plus a sauna!

  • Had a wonderful stay at The Barn! Amazing views from its position on the top of the hill. Great barn conversion with spacious lounge and stunning views. We also all made good use of the sauna! Nuala the property manager was incredibly helpful and was always on hand if we had any questions, it was lovely meeting her. Will definitely come back if we are ever in this part of the world again!
