  • A most hospitable establishment, the hosts and staff were always at hand for questions or help. The rooms are massive, comfortable and clean, and definitely one of the better riads I've stayed in. Relatively easy to find if you have (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Maps (I arrived quite late, around 11PM)--just ask the taxi to drop at Bab Bouljoud. Breakfast is delish on the terasse. If you're headed to Fes, I wouldn't look anywhere else!

  • Riad Noujoum was fabulous! Not too difficult to find in the Fes and also Zaki, his brother and the lady who prepares breakfast and does morning duties were awesome! Except, the walls are thin. So if you are a light sleeper, you probably can hear some noises especially if the Riad is full. Thankfully for us, it wasn't and we preferred that it wasn't crickety quiet.

  • We only stayed one night in the Riad Noujoum Medina (unfortunately) and couldn't try the breakfast as our flight was very early in the morning. It was our last night in Fès and we really enjoyed spending our evening on the beautiful terrace with mint tea. Everything was as you can see in the pictures. The location is absolutely perfect! We highly recommend.

    Svetlana2016-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Really great experience. Staff was always available to help and answer questions and were so nice. And mint tea whenever you want is such a nice bonus.

  • This riad has a beautiful interior with visible signs that direct you to the riad. Although the way up to the roof was a little exhausting, the view of fes medina from their rooftop terrace is stunning!! It was very near the old CTM bus station and the main road where you can get a petit taxi. The host, Zaki, was really nice. He apologized for not being able to be at the riad to welcome us on arrival, and also gave advice on what time we should leave for the airport based on our flight time. We had to print our Ryanair boarding passes and we were so lucky their staff lent us the printer. We had the room on the first floor and it was huge!! Everything was clean which made our stay really comfortable. I would recommend this riad anytime!

  • A wonderful haven in the bustle of the medina. Quite a challenge to find but worth the effort. The room was pleasant and the meals on the roof was great. Everybody was friendly and even helped to arrange a taxi for our ongoing travels. We highly recommend.

    Hugh2015-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • The riad was nice, but the air conditioning didn't really work and the air quality was quite bad. The breakfast is served by a lovely woman but the quality is just okay compared to the other places we stayed in morocco.

    Vera2017-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived late in the evening and our driver was waiting for us at the airport. Zaki was also in the medina car park, waiting to guide us to our room. The room was exactly as photographed - lovely room, great air conditioning - was exactly as expected. The riad itself is gorgeous - the photos don't lie. Location is the best - edge of medina so easy to find and close to the Blue Gate. Zaki was very helpful organising a great guide for us and assisting with directions etc. Breakfast was lovely as was the service provided by the lady in the kitchen. Only complaint I have is that the bedding had no top sheet and I don't like sleeping with a duvet that many others have had against their skin.

    Riad Noujoum Medina
    221 reviews
Dar La Bague de Kenza is located within the ancient Medina of Fez. All rooms in the house have AC and are nicely decorated in a Moroccan style. The house also has two beautiful terraces both of which offer amazing panoramic views.
Because we wanted to retain the former beauty of the Moroccan crafts found in the house, we renovated it entirely in a traditional Arabic style with ornate mosaic, marble, plaster, and wood work. We hope all our guests will have an authentic and pleasant stay. Each of our guests will be served a cup of tea upon arrival. Depending on the weather, guests will also have the opportunity to enjoy breakfast or a delicious Moroccan dinner in the terrace or the living room. We usually provide guests with tips and recommendations for visiting the Medina and its surroundings during their stay.
Our guesthouse is located in the old Medina, not far from the most important monuments (the Mosque Karaouine, the Nejjarine Museum and the Tanneries). We are only five minutes away from Palais Jamai and « Bab Guissa », the highest among the Medina’s acute gates from where you can have a wonderful panoramic view of the Medina of Fes. Although we do not refrain the guests from going out late in the evening, we do not recommend it as it is tricky to explore the Medina and alleys are not always well lit.
  • It's inside Medina, great experience when travel in Morocco. We feel like experienced the life one thousand years ago. The place is quite, rooms a special and traditional, nice decorated. And in the rooftop, we could have a good view of Fez Medina, so amazing.

    Stefanie2017-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • The riad is located in the heart of the old Medina of bab guissa. It is a quiet and cool retreat away from the busy lanes. The air con in the bedrooms works wonderfully, it was 48 degrees during our stay but the rooms in the riad stayed cool. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are basic but with good working showers with hot water. The house was clean and the upstairs terraces were wonderful to enjoy in the evenings . Rachid the house manager is a welcoming host and there to help with absolutely anything needed. We rented the entire property during our stay , rachid stayed in the riad also which I was unaware of at the time of booking, but actually helped a lot with various things needed or any questions. There is a tiny supermarket a stones throw from the riad entrance for things like bread and water . I would recommend this accommodation and would like to thank Rachid and Edna for all their help.

Welcoming, traditional and accessible. At the end of a winding narrow medina street yet only 10 minutes walking to the famous Blue Gate, Bab Boujloud, the house is convenient to sights, markets and restaurants. Enjoy your own private space at the end of a hectic day.
My home is a traditional open-air courtyard house. All windows open to the interior on this style of architecture. The furnishings are traditional Moroccan style couches and tables, comfortable beds, and Moroccan artisanal accent pieces. "I grew up with Linda, so I know her for 50+ years. I recently stayed with her in Fez. She is very knowledgeable about the city & can advise tourists on the best places to visit, eat and shop. She is very conscientious, honest and reliable. She will be a very caring host, wanting to make sure her guests are safe and that they enjoy Fez. Linda spent a lot of time and effort to restore her home to its original beauty. She will be very responsive and can answer questions about touring in Morocco. She helped me plan a trip outside of Fes. I spent time with Abdou. He is very handing at fixing things. As a native, he is a very good resource. He is very intent on having visitors be safe and wants to make sure they enjoy his country. People visiting Linda's home will feel very well cared for- staying in an authentic, old Fez home." November 2016 Lee is a Friend
The neighborhood is easy to navigate and close to parking or taxi access as well as historic sites like Medrasa Bouanania, the water clock and several local restaurants. Some of the popular nearby places are Clock Cafe, Mezzanine, Jawhara Cafe and restaurant Kasbah. The wonderful botanical garden Jnan Sbil is within walking distance too.
  • Abdou we love you!! From the onset abdou made us feel at home! He took us to the supermarket and also made sure every day we were ok and if we needed to travel anywhere. His home is a renovated ancient (circa 300 years old) riad. Giving you the most authentic experience of Fez living we have EVER experienced. The price he charge is phenomenal! Worth every penny! We spent time with abdou and his cute cat on a few occasions and discovered the wonderful personality he has a vast experience of all the politics and history of fez. If you want to be a Moroccan? If you want to BREATHe the life and the soul of Fez? Go here! It's got everything you need! It's local and a short walk from everything. Very safe location! Abdou can also get you anything! Be sure to sit and chat with him one night over a meal or drink too! Many words of wisdom!! For stars!! We have rebooked next year already!!! AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!

  • We feel honored to be the first guests to stay in this lovely house in Fez. It is incredibly unique and unlike any Airbnb we've ever done. The house is 400 years old and it certainly feels very rustic and special, there are small staircases leading to tiny rooms on every floor and the big courtyard is typically Moroccan. You get the feeling of living in a traditional house, but also have modern amenities like fast wifi, a washing machine and a good shower. We really enjoyed using the kitchen, too. A small side note: If you're only slightly allergic to dust (or cats, as there is a cat in this house), I wouldn't recommend staying here – I've had some issues with that. The location of this house is as good as it gets, it's right in the heart of the Medina, but if you're inside of the house it's still peaceful and calm. We really appreciate that Abdou picked us up late at night from the train station, thank you for that! Other than that, we didn't really have more social interactions with Abdou, although we stayed with him. We would have loved to maybe get to know him a little better and learn about Fez from a local. This Airbnb is definitely very special and one of a kind, we really recommend staying here if you want to explore the real Fez.

Riad Razane is 4 minutes walk from the famous chouara tannery, ten minutes from Al Attarine Madrasa, Qaraouiyine University. our Riad is 6min drive from Bab Boujloud, bou inania school and jnan sbil. If you adore walking, Bab rcif is 8min walk from Riad Razane.
Riad Razane is one the best and antique Riad in Fes which was constructed in 1367 in the era of the Marinids. Even if centuries has past the soul of the Riad is still the same with its magnificent arabic architecture. It was inhabited by many dynasties who were the Marinids and the saadis as well. In 1667 the Alaouite conquered Fez city. This Riad was one of their plunders. It was offered to a businessman who was known with Gold and diamond trade. Riad Razane witnessed many big deals of diamond so do not be surprised dear visitor if you found a jewel under your bed by coincidence.
The neighborhood is a large alley known for its cultural ambiance. it is surrounded by Zalagh mountain. You can see kids playing typical Moroccan games, women and men wearing Moroccan clothes such as jellaba. Furthermore, around there are sellers, shops where there are local food and fresh vegetables and fruits.
  • We had really great stay at Zehra's. Everything about the Riad is good, the breakfast, the location, the cleanness. But what really makes this place stand out are two things. First, how incredibly beautiful the riad is, I never expected to stay in such a place with our budget. And secondly the great hosts! They will literally help you with anything you ask. Would definitely recommend and stay again. Also, because the riad is just outside the medina it's way easier to find than most places but stil really close to everything.

    Rebecca2017-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • If you are searching for an very authentic Riad close to the tanneries (10 minutes walking maximum) and in the old Medina this is an amazing place to stay. The hosts are very very welcoming and helped us plan our Fes experience. The breakfast is quick and very good also. I would definitly return at this riad if I visit Fes again. There is not expensive parking near the riad (3 minutes walking maximum) but maybe difficult to find (ask Zehra about it : )

    Marianne2017-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent hosts. The riad is amazing, very warm and cozy. Zehra and Ismael's hospitality is beyond expectations, very helpful and there when you need to ask any kind of recommendation. Authentic breakfast experience was a huge bonus. We will definitely stay at the riad on our next visit to Fez.

Johannes & Daniel

Riad Medina is a small, intimate, boutique B&B with 5 double rooms, each of which is decorated differently in traditional Moroccan style. It is situated within the ancient Medina in Fez; an oasis of calm set against the bustling alleys. This listing is to rent a double room (with air conditioning). Whilst technically it has a shared bathroom, all other rooms in the Riad are en-suite and so in practice the bathroom is used only our guests staying in this room.
  • Lovely place and Abdul is extremely helpful!

  • David was great! Since the moment I booked he emailed me a document with all the information I needed! Once I got to fez I took a taxi to the Medina and called the house manager, who came and picked us up. The house is BEAUTIFUL! And the staff is great. I had food poisoning and they recommended different medicines I could take. They also called a taxi so my boyfriend could go to the drugstore. Overall the house is awesome, it was the best part of our stay in fez!

  • Riad Medina is an absolute gem! When you walk in the interior garden, it makes you feel like you’re stepping in to a different world. The rooms are lovely - and we were lucky enough to stay in the master suite, which was absolutely beautiful. The staff was really nice - Mona, the lady who prepared breakfast was kind and helpful (though she doesn’t speak English); we only got to meet Abdul on our last day there, but his brother was really helpful, arranging a taxi for us at3 am. Communicating with David was super easy from the beginning, he has helped us with loads of information and he responded really quick. However, we found 3 broken plugs in our room - and one of them was life-threatening for our little boy (it had a broken socket blocked inside). Otherwise, is the best place to stay in, whilst in Fes.

This is where lies the largest food market (fruits, vegetables ...) in the medina. We reserve your taxi on arrival at the airport to take you to the rendezvous point. Above all, let yourself be transported by the medina. its alleys, its din, little squares where sit artisans and small merchants. Discover Fassi cuisine, famous throughout Morocco. In a quiet street, Dar al Ricco is 4 minutes from the hectic bustling Place R'cif, the entry point of the medina. 4 minutes banks and taxis. 4 minutes of the large market with fruits and vegetables.
  • Walking into this Riad was beyond my expectation. We were met with hot cups of fresh mint tea before being brought up to our immaculate and spacious rooms. Each room was unique and perfect mix of native culture with a touch of modernity.

  • The place is awesome, each room has an exquisite taste... the neighbourhood is nice and close to the markets, Mosque in the heart of the old Medina. Very comfortable place!!! Hanane was great and her breakfasts were AMAZING!!!

  • We had an amazing time at Eric's beautiful house (the pictures do not do it justice!). He was very responsive to all of our questions and needs. The house manager, Kaoutar was a wonderful host and an incredible cook! She and her husband were very accommodating to all of our needs, meeting us in the main square upon arrival and helping us schedule tours and drivers. Thank you for a wonderful experience in Fes!

    Trang2017-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Staying in the Riad was an amazing experience it is quiet, centrally located yet easy to find and has fantastic views from the roof. Kaoutar our Houskeeper/cook is lovely though her cooking skills are not fantastic and not great value so we cooked alot ourselves either buyig from the markets or for the huge Carrefour which is a 5 minute taxi ride away

    Mark2017-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Eric's riad was a perfect oasis! A short walk from the square outside the medina through narrow alleys you would find a dreamy haven that was cozy and beautiful providing the perfect environment to relax. The riad itself was astonishing with every detail taken care of. Many areas to relax and the rooms were decorated depending your mood and taste. The rooms were clean and spacious and the local architectural layout was incredibly practical. The terrace, overlooking the city, provided a perfect place for a morning coffee or an afternoon tea! The staff was really helpful and happy to accommodate us. Eric is very well organised with helpful tips and directions provided in his in-house booklet. Overall Dar Al Ricco is a wonderful place and I recommend it to everyone!!!

    Paris2015-04-13T00:00:00Z
  • Staying here was like being transported to another place. Life in the medina is quite an experience that should not be missed. I can't say enough wonderful things about the hospitality of Kaoutar. Definitely do breakfast and dinner with Kaoutar and use any recommendations she and her family offer. The house provides a quiet balance to the complexity of the medina.

    Jennifer2017-04-13T00:00:00Z
  • The Dar el Ricco is well situated and easy to find. Its pleasant calm atmosphere and stylish yet not obtrusive interior design contrast nicely with the buzzing life on the Medina streets. The 4 bedrooms are all unique and spacious, the ground-floor offers plenty of corners to hide and relax, and the rooftop terrace is fantastic. The Dar is equipped with everything you need. We spent 4 days with 2 families (4 adults and 4 kids aging 2 - 6) in Eric's house, which was well suited for such setup (stairs are quite steep but our kids managed). Kaoutar and her husband picked us up, gave us all kinds of useful tips and Kaoutar cooked amazing dinners adjusted to our preferences (we particularly recommend her fish pastilla, which all made us eat way too much). Eric was quite flexible as we arrived 1/2 day earlier and had to leave very early in the morning. He is a great host and communication and arrangements were excellent, we certainly recommend him.

    Andreas2016-11-04T00:00:00Z

  • Fes is built on a hill and we loved the location of this riad because it teaches you a lot about the city. If climbing stairs and walking uphill are a problem for you, don't even consider coming to the Medina. Dar Elisa is a beautiful 400 year old riad with a fabulous roof terrace, but what really makes the stay worth while is the wonderful food prepared by Rachid and his family. We have visited Morocco many times and in our opinion, if you want real Moroccan food, have Rachid's family make something for you. Rachid was discrete, polite and above all not pushy. He never pressured us.... The perfect host for your stay in Fes. By the (URL HIDDEN) getting pretty warm in Morocco now, but the bottom floor in a traditional riad is still pleasantly cool. Mornings and evenings on the roof terrace are sublime!

  • We had a wonderful stay at Dar Elisa. Our arranged pick up from the airport took us the a square near the Riad, here Rachid was waiting for us. Immediately we were able to enjoy his wife's cooking skills. The hospitality and beautiful Riad made us directly felt at home. The next day Rachid pointed us all the highlights on a map and walked us to the nearest square (Bab Rcif) so we always could find our way back. Internet was working perfectly and even in December we could enjoy the sun on the roof terrace.

  • Fantastic - Rachid, Fes, the view, they riad, the medina, the shower, the amenities... the list goes on. We spent our thanksgiving in the Riad and loved everything about our stay. With a little ingenuity, durija, and the toaster oven, we managed to make a thanksgiving meal with an apple pie and loved the entire experience.

  • Our host (Bruno's assistant), Rachid, provided us with warm hospitality and communicated well in English. He was very friendly and helpful, providing us advice on places to visit. As for the house, it's conveniently located in the heart of the medina, and might be challenging to navigate the first time, but Rachid showed us the way and we were able to find our way around without much problems. The view from the terrace was magnificent, the rooms were beautifully furnished, and the optional meals were delicious - we loved the tangine! Overall, a pleasant and delightful stay in the house.

  • Staying in Fes at Dar Elisa was by far the best airbnb experience I have ever had. Bruno replied to all of my questions promptly before the trip and organized airport transportation and a day trip to Chefchaouen for my 6 friends and I. Rachid and his wife Ouliya took care of everything once we arrived. They are the most hospitable people I have ever met! Ouliya is a fantastic chef and made us delicious traditional Moroccan food everyday for breakfast and dinner. Rachid planned out everything for us: tours of the city and Medina, horseback riding, seeing monkeys, a trip to Chefchaouen, and even traditional Moroccan baths and massages at a Turkish bath house! Our trip to Fes was absolutely incredible, and it was all because of the selfless hospitality and genuine kindness of our hosts and drivers. They made us feel like part of the family. Not to mention the dar is GORGEOUS! There was plenty of room for all 7 of us and we enjoyed sitting on the rooftop terrace with its great view. I would HIGHLY recommend staying in this beautiful home and with these beautiful people. Thank you Bruno, Rachid, Ouliya, and all of our fantastic drivers!! My friends and I will never forget our trip to Fes and are very grateful for your generosity!

  • A sharply vertical three story house with ample space and many little nooks- As it was, our two elementary kids had fun exploring, and finding another door or little shuttered window each day. A few toys and books were quickly discovered- to include a barbie-like doll in traditional clothes and chin tattoo, Berber-style! Kitchen was well stocked with coffee and water, and bathrooms with hot water and towels. The upstairs terrace had a spectacular view of the Médina and hills beyond. Place isn't grand like a hotel, we're right in the middle of a quiet residential neighborhood. With the murmur of far off conversations and the occasional clang of a dropped pot, you get the sense this is everyday beauty, not just for the rich. We were a bit off the beaten path- I was unreasonably proud I managed to surprise a local shopkeeper by queuing with the local grandmas for baguettes and milk in the morning. The house caretakers are very friendly and responsive. For a very reasonable price, Rachid, his wife and mother in law came to our house to make dinner for our first night, and it was the best we had Morocco! (Also breakfast the following morning- very good!) We arranged for a tour guide through a friend, which made all the difference in getting to see the best parts of the city. Our single morning without a guide was stressful, as the moment you look indecisive, people will start asking if you need help or a guide. To sum it up- this isn't a 5 star continental luxury hotel. It's a clean, lovingly restored, 400+ year old house with great plumbing, with charming tile and plasterwork, and a friendly local family ready to assist (as needed). This was exactly what we were looking for, and hope to return someday!

  • We had a lovely time in this dar, largely due to the kindness and care bestowed upon us by Rachid and Ouliya, the caretakers of this home. From the moment Rachid met us at the square until our departure, we felt that our well being was monitored by this lovely couple. Rachid oriented us to the maze of the medina, offered suggestions, arranged transportation, tour guides, meals, computer assistance, house repairs, even shared his wedding photos with us- all without being intrusive or ever-present. Yes, it is true, Ouliya is a killer cook and her food was better than any meal we had in the highest end restaurants. She offered and we gratefully accepted a cooking class, which our young adult children enjoyed heartily, and later offered a trip to the hamam, where she and her cousin/close friend saw to it that we were scrubbed as never before. Bruno, the host, was prompt and responsive to all initial queries. This riad offered much more than its lovely space, it offered a window into the daily rhythm of life, generosity and warmth of those native to the medina.

  • Far Elisa was a wonderful place to stay in the medina of Fez. The riad was as described and shown on the listing. Bruno was always responsive to our emails prior to our stay. And, Rachid was an excellent house manager. He provided us with tips for getting around the medina and even suggested walking tours. If you want to stay out of the bustle for dinner, Rachid's wife is an excellent cook, and in the eight days we had left in Morocco, we couldn't find cous cous to rival hers. Highly recommend.

  • Good place to stay, close to the old town(about 5 minutes walk), which is very convenient. The house is clean and equipped with air-conditioner. Kitchen is available also. The hosts are very friendly and always ready to meet your needs.

  • One of the greatest riad we have been stayed since arrival of Morocco. On the night, we met a stranger who is clearly smoking weed or something, we got lost at the old city, he showed us the way and wanted money from us at last. We gave him money but he just kept asking more, and he even followed us to the riad, me and my friends were so scared at that time. The owner, however, helped us a lot, she kept him outside the door and tried to convince him to leave. But he just kept knocking the door so hard. The owner called the police at last. We went down to apologize for causing her trouble. She said, protecting my guest is my job. A real good soul! As for the room, it is clean and they change the sheet after we left(we saw when we come back to take our stuff), clean bathroom and towel and beautiful terrace. Good location, only minutes of walking to the main spots of the city. Our top recommendation for sure.

  • Two friends and I stayed at this stylish Riad while in Fes for two nights. Abdou and staff were incredibly helpful and attentive. They arranged for a car to pick us up and drop us off at train station and arranged a guide for our half day in the Médina. You don’t need a guide in the Medina but if you want to cover a lot of ground in a short amount of time (without getting lost) a guide is your best bet. Our guide was Abdul and he was fantastic. Speaks English too which was a huge plus! The Riad also arranged a private car for our day trip to Chefchaouen (wasn’t too expensive). Overall it was an easy breazy experience.

We offer you this great traditional Riad. Located inside the Medina, it can easily accommodate up to ten people with its five bedrooms - each possessing its private bathroom. On the 150 m2 terrace, you'll enjoy thye best way you can imagine on the world's biggest Medina : it's one of the few you can find find with a 360° view. Inside the house, you'll be able to admire traditional wooden panels and woodwork (see pictures) as well as precious Iraki stainglasses. Rachid and Oulyia will welcomme tou and offer you a breakfast (included in the price that should keep you going all day long. If you're still hungry, though, the house has an equipped kitchen and Oulyia can cook the evening meal for you (not included in the price). Conveniently located in the Medina, the Riad is also very close to one of the main entrance points to the city (Bab El Guissa) where Rachid will be waiting for you on your day of arrival and guide you in the labyrinth of the Medina to find the Riad. Our motto : "To host someone is to take care of his/her happiness while (s)he's under your roof." (Brillat-Savarin)
  • Amazing house provides authentic experience in Fes, combined with modern amenities. Rachid (house manager) is great. Words cannot describe the rooftop terrace. We had a lovely time.

  • We had such an amazing stay at this Riad! Edgar lives out of the country but has left the raid in the very capable hands of Rachid and his lovely wife Ouliya. Out transfer from the airport was smooth and in a very new and comfortable van. It's a good idea to get the transfer so you know how to get to the Riad the first time, but not hard to find your way out to the Medina gate again after that. The Riad itself is amazing! 400 years old and lots of great examples of craftsmanship. It's a little rough around the edges, but for a building of Thai age I think it adds to the charm. Water was hot, wifi worked fine and the bed was very comfy which was fantastic. We were there during the peak of summer and Ramadan, so things were warm but manageable, although the street vibe got a little weird around 530 when the shops started to close. We believe this was only due to Ramadan though. Lots of interesting places to see, and some good food, although by far the best food we had was Ouliyas cooking. Well worth it to have her cook your dinners (100DH per person), and I'd recommend having a chat with her too. She's a lovely lady and can give you some good shopping advice that might help. We also did a day trip to Chefchaouen with a nice agency arranged van and driver named Hassam. About 3.5 hrs drive each way and a little expensive, but well worth it. Amazing place that's like a garden of Eden in the mountains. (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) it if you haven't heard of the place. All in all, we'd happily recommend this Riad to our friends. You get to stay in a piece of medieval history and get to know some great people as well.

  • This is an amazing space and we feel truly lucky to have stayed here. Beautiful interior and lovely roof terrace which exceeded our expectations -- very spacious too. Rachid and Ouliya, who take care of the house, were very helpful and welcoming. They welcomed us with mint tea on arrival and arranged a guide for a day exploring the Fes medina. Ouliya prepared dinner for two of our nights there and it was delicious -- our best meal in Morocco was thanks to her! Highly recommended.

  • Pros: Beautiful decor. Amazing view from rooftop. The bed is comfortable. Ola's cooking is fantastic. The distance to the medina entrance is closer than most home. Cons: Communication with Edgar and staff prior to visit was not very good. Several locals explained to us that this home is not a True Riad. It is actually a Dar ( without garden and pool ); albeit a nice one. I recommend this rental to anyone who does not desire great communication with the host and understands that the house staff reside 7 to 10 minutes away. This is a great deal for the aforementioned, particularly a large group.

  • This place is absolutely incredible. We spent a lovely week in Fez, wandering around the medina, and always enjoying coming back to our private palace. Rashid, Ouliya and Laila were wonderful hosts, and Laila's cooking for probably the high point of the trip. We were so sad to leave. It is in a great location, in the middle of the medina whilst slightly away from most of the tourists, and buying fruit and veg from the local market, chatting to the neighbours and feeding the local street cats all made us feel as if we were really a part of Fez for a short while.

  • A very lovely lady called Agnes met us where we had arranged (a car park just outside the Medina) we followed he and a man carting our bags to Dar Orange, she also arranged breakfast and made us tea - what a wonderful housekeeper. Dar Orange has been lovingly and beautifully restored with a touch or modernisation. it really is a fantastic, clean, interesting place to stay and I will hope to return next year. The location is perfect too, in the heart of the medina! Its nice a quiet inside, with the typical Moroccan structure to the building, like an atrium. Check out the roof terrace too - what a view!

  • The description made it seem like this place was a 7-minute walk to the Medina, but in fact, it is IN the Medina. What's so great is that it's in a quiet area so you can enjoy a little peace and quiet when you're sleeping or relaxing. The showers are incredible, probably better than my own house and the whole decor of the place is just stunning. Feels like you're in a small little palace in the middle of Fez. The WiFi is adequate for sending text messages and checking email, but don't expect to be able to stream videos very well. Then again, you shouldn't be wasting your time watching videos anyways while you're in Fez. Overall, this place is awesome and I would highly recommend it.

  • Brigitte's apartment is a big house in the middle of medina. She has a great taste in decroation of the rooms. Everything is better than the photos. Brigitte is kind enough to arrange someone to bring our luggages in a trolley from the parking lot to the apartment which is so helpful. Hanna and her lovely daughter introduced the room and prepared the great breakfast for us. The whole stay was very comfortable and relaxed. And we had everything needed in the house. The terrace was a beautiful place to see the whole city and stars during the night! I would definitely recommend this house to all visitors to Fes. It must be the best one you will have in Fes.

  • We had an AMAZING experience at Dar Orange. It's an beautiful hidden gem in the heart of Fes. The medina is stunning and the whole experience absolutely wonderful. We were picked up at the airport by Aziz the taxi driver set up by Jean Francois which was great because he ended up giving us a tour of the city and getting us a great guide for the next day. Hannah, the woman in charge of the house, was beyond wonderful. She made us breakfast with hand squeezed orange juice everyday, toured us around the city, helped with directions, and checked in on us constantly to make sure we had everything we needed. She made dinner for us one night that was so delicious and authentic, really great. The apartment is huge and has great beds and an amazing rooftop. The only complaint would be that the house was quite humid and damp and the last night someone rang the doorbell repeatedly. However, the area is safe and we had an amazing time! Thank you Hannah for going above and beyond and Jean Francois for being a helpful and responsive host.

  • The Dar was perfectly located in the Fes Medina - an amazing sanctuary to come back to after a day exploring the windy streets of the Medina. We particularly appreciated the helpful assistance of Hannah throughout our stay. She made amazing breakfasts each morning, helped us find the best places for Hammams in town (at a cheap price), and was always available whenever we had questions or needed assistance. We recommend to anyone passing through Fez, to stay here.

An amazing opportunity to enjoy a luxury, private riad with your own cook, housekeeper and house manager. Dar Mignon has been painstakingly restored by master craftsmen to combine traditional architecture with modern luxury. The house is arranged around a courtyard and includes a comfortable salon, kitchen dining room, two bedrooms with truly indulgent en suite bathrooms, and a roof terrace with perhaps the finest view of Fes in the medina.
Many hundreds of years old, and now completely restored, Dar Mignon is ideally located in one of the oldest parts of the 1,200 year old medina. It is just a 5 minute walk from the Quaraouine Mosque at the very heart of Fes, yet only a 3 minute walk from the entrance to the medina at Bab El Guissa, where taxis are readily available. Quite simply, Dar Mignon is a timeless oasis of calm, comfort and serenity in the heart of the pace and excitement of the medina. For discerning visitors who wish to immerse themselves in traditional Moroccan culture without compromising on comfort, Dar Mignon offers an air of exotic romance, intimacy and tranquility. From the moment you arrive, everything is designed to make your time in Fes memorable. We can arrange a transfer from the airport, train station, or even the Sahara, if you wish. Once at Bab El Guissa, porters are available to help with your luggage, and you will be escorted to Dar Mignon. After you’ve settled in with a welcoming drink, you can relax with the comprehensive information pack, which will tell you all you need to know to make your visit stress-free. Depending on your time of arrival, there should be somebody available to answer any questions you might have, and to give whatever guidance you need to ensure your preferences for your stay can if possible be accommodated. Your preferred time for a freshly prepared breakfast will be noted, and the next morning our cook will have arrived in good time to have this ready for you, including freshly squeezed juice in season, either on the roof terrace or the dining room. We were fortunate that Fes has the finest and most highly skilled artisans in the country. The ceilings and floors in traditional houses are built using cedar; the sound cedar beams in our house were retained, and all the others, which were several hundred years old, were replaced with new solid cedar timbers from the middle Atlas mountains. Although these were considerably more expensive than other timber would have been, they will last far longer, and emit a fragrance like no other wood. Modern drains replaced the ancient ceramic ones, and the floors were then completely re-laid, using traditional ‘zellige’, which are small hand-kilned and hand-cut mosaic tiles, laid in a geometric pattern as is Muslim custom. The courtyard has a fountain, where traditionally all the water in the house would have been drawn, and this has been hand made in the same fashion as the flooring. The salon has traditional Moroccan banquette seating, but in comfortable and subtle dark blue suede rather than the more usual garish colours and patterns often found in Moroccan homes. There is also a dining room, leading to the kitchen, for when the weather does not lend itself to eating on the roof terrace. The bedrooms on the first and second floor each have king size (160cm) beds, and the first floor bedroom also has an additional single bed. So much for the tradition. When built, the house would originally have had no bathroom, probably only a basic charcoal brazier for cooking meals, perhaps a squat toilet, and obviously no electricity. While we have strived to respect authenticity, we’re not mad! So, to make our guests’ stay rather more comfortable and, dare we say, indulgent, we have added the following:- Downstairs toilet Kitchen with all modern appliances Air-conditioning (and heating in winter) in the downstairs salon Air-conditioning (and heating in winter) in both bedrooms Complimentary internet connection throughout the house (when working, as Maroc Telecom is not always reliable), and use of the house computer with (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Sonos sound system throughout the house and on the roof terrace, enabling guests to listen to their respective choices of worldwide radio stations, the extensive in-house music library, as they wish in each part of the house Luxury marble en suite bathrooms each with solid marble twin washbasins, rainforest shower, and matching black, sunken, oval bath for two Luxury fluffy towels and Egyptian cotton bed linen imported to our order Kitchenette on roof terrace with cold drinks fridge, coffee maker and kettle, to save guests having to walk down to the kitchen for a drink Complimentary tea, percolated or nespresso coffee, and chilled bottled water
Dar Mignon is situated within the walls of the old city - the medina - of Fes. Allegedly the largest pedestrian urban space in the world, the city is genuinely medieval, a truly fascinating labyrinth of souks, alleys, mosques and Medersas. It is the world's best preserved medieval city. Bab Boujiloud is a short walk or taxi ride away and has a great selection of cafés and street food. Nearby, opposite the entrance to the beautiful Jnan Sybil gardens, is Mezzanine, a stylish bar restaurant with reasonably priced food and local beers and wine. Try the bissara soup for 3 euros.
  • Located in the old Fez, close to where time has stood still. Very old and nicely restored, but very tight and stuffy. Tight stairways, makes it difficult to carry luggage three levels up. Wonderful host Ratiba was wonderful and very helpful.

  • We had a great stay at Dar Mignon, Fez. We were picked up at the airport promptly although our flight arrived late and was welcomed at Dar Mignon by Ratiba who spoke good English. The house was very well re-constructed, keeping its traditional design but with modern facilities, especially the bathroom! Ratiba was superb with breakfast, housekeeping and also with helping us arrange our excursion trips. The location of Dar Mignon is superb. We blended in the market with the locals. We had the best Bissara, wonderful cafe au lait and great fried tuna and all these with the locals. I would recommend Dar Mignon to people who wants to experience the real Fez. Thanks Mark.

  • To say this is a gem amongst the chaotic craziness of the Fes markets / souk would be an under statement. If you want to experience Fes, the sights, sounds and smells, the vibrancy, colours and wonder of Morocco. Then, this is the place for you! Fantastic welcome, amazing house, perfect interiors and a bathroom to get lost in. We booked transport and a tour guide through Mark and both were above expectation. Sadly we only had one night, but we will definitely be back. It was truly perfect.

  • It is my pleasure to live in riad Dar Mingnon. In one hand, the room was fantastic, clean and comfortable, air condition play a great role to keep our room dry. The bathroom was incredible big, it shocked me when the first time I saw it. Our house keeper made a great welcome dinner for us, it was tasty and deserves a reasonable price. Also she helped us get some fever medicine from the local pharmacy, what a nice work she have done! In another hand, there are just few advices for you to be better and better. First of all, the hot water inside the bathroom on the second floor did not work at all. We found out there is only cold water coming out in the first night, perhaps it was too late to fix it for our housekeeper( around 22:00), so she told us everything will be fine tomorrow. We have talked with her one more time on the second day breakfast time, but everything remained the same when we were going to take the shower. Finally, we have to share one bathroom for four persons, I have to say it was not a great experience. Secondly, some of the furnitures inside the dining room were not in a good shape. They were well designed and comfortable, but one of the dining chair broke down suddenly and hurt our friend really much. I think you have to pay more attention on the condition check of the furniture. Anyway, we have a good time in Fez, and hope your hotel becomes the best one in Fez medina.

  • We had the most comfortable and wonderful stay at Dar Mignon. Mark is a true gentleman. Without his advice and assistance our stay in Fes would not have been as memorable. We were fortunate enough to ask Mark to arrange a tour for us and he delivered the best experience one could imagine. Abdullah proved to be invaluable guide and what began as a day trip ended 12 hours later as nothing of interest and beauty was missed. The Dar itself was immaculately, painstakingly and beautifully restored under Marks watchful eye and the result is nothing short of stunning. Beyound the non descript street door of the Dar a veritable feast for the senses awaits inside. Ratiba was our wonderful house manageress and on hand to make our stay very comfortable. All in all, if you are going to visit Fes you would be mad in my opinion to stay anywhere else. Thank you Mark, Ratiba and Abdullah... Until next time.

  • Dar Mignon is a lovely and well tasted traditional decoration riad with perfect location ( within old medina and with car park nearby) for discovering the old and new parts of Fès. It is also perfectly sized -not too small and not too big and despite its traditional decoration the Riad is fully furnished with complete, working and modern equipments. Moreover, Ratiba, the housekeeper, ensure with kindness and smile, the Riad stay clean and comfortable to your needs. David

  • Dar Mignon was the highlight of our stay in Fes! We had a bit of a bad situation with the Riad we initially booked, and we hastily looked for replacement arrangements, booking EXTREMELY last minute. Mark responded within moments and was even more accommodating than we could have wished. He understood the challenges of being first time travelers in Morocco and arranged for every detail of our transfer between places. We were greeted by Rabita, the housekeeper and caretaker, as Mark was in France at his other property. She is charming!! She has a ready smile and an infectious laugh, and was very eager to make sure we felt at home and had everything we needed. She made us mint tea, gave us a tour and then left us to our privacy. That's right, privacy. When we booked we had the entire Dar to ourselves, all four floors. The Dar itself is a treasure! Tucked behind an unassuming door in a conveniently-placed street in the medina you find a little jewel, richly restored in traditional manner, fixed with all the tiny modern conveniences that make for easy living (the motion-detector floor-level lights on the steep stairs are a stroke of brilliance), and clean to the point of gleaming, spending time in the Dar felt like the height of refinement. Our elegant bedroom was comforting, airy and quiet, but WOW, that bathroom! From the rainfall shower (for me) to the deep marble tub (for him), it was relaxation and luxury supreme. We wound up spending an inordinate amount of time lounging there. And then the roof. The views are striking! We couldn't resist unwinding after a long day by simply sitting and listening to the sounds of the city. One major perk for us was that Mark keeps a little wine cellar, stocked with both re and white local wines. In a country where that is hard to come by, we were excited to taste the local fruit! God bless the French. :) Rabita made us a wonderful breakfast in the morning, gave us advice on our request about good prices for leather goods in the market, and helped us arrange for transport. I would come back to Morocco just to stay at Dar Mignon, honestly. It's even better than its pictures, and the people bring it to life. Stay here! You won't regret it. It's wonderful for a romantic getaway or for a family vacation (multiple well-appointed rooms are available.) Thanks Mark and Rabita for making our stay so memorable!!

  • Really happy I stayed in your riad, Zhor and Mounir were lovely. The breakfast was very yummy. The riad is so peaceful and close from all amenities. Definitly coming back next time!

  • The place is located in the centre of Fez Medina so it is very convenient to get around on foot. When we were at Fez Mounir was not around so he arranged someone welcoming us. He is also very flexible and understanding with our requests. Though he is not around but he replied to our messages promptly. However we felt that the photos are more appealing than reality. We are not very pleased with the cleanliness of the place because the blankets and bed linens did not appear as clean as we would expect. In addition, the beds are a bit hard and not very comfortable. Overall we would rate his place average.

    Jill2017-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Mounir is not there in the riad. But there is a very kindly lady Zhor who live in the house. Don't afraid of she will trouble you,she is always quiet and stay in her room in corner. But she can not speak English. The location is very good. Near the blue gate. And easy to reach other viewpoints with walk. The riad is on the first in a old apartment with a spacious living room and a very tiny terrace. It is very simple in the rooms but enough. Anyway we have a nice stay at here.

  • First of all: Fes is a must see! It is definitely my favourite city of the ones I've seen in Morocco. The Riad was pretty and spacious. It was a good choice for the 2 nights we spent there. It is very well located within a few steps of the busy streets of the medina. The housekeeper is with you at the riad at all times, this was not a problem for us since she is very friendly and quiet. Mounir gave us all the important information we needed. The check-in and check-out went very smoothly and just as described. Thank you!

    David2017-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • very lovely place and even Mounir was not there, he still trying to connect to me and his friend Zhor was a really sweet and friendly lady we can get everything we need. Closed to Main Street and not very far to the old medina, more importantly, this riad was easy to find.

    Jie2016-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • The place is absolutely worthy for groups and families with a good price and big space. Located at the center of the Medina with everything you need in a walking distance. The host and the keeper are both warm and polite. We had a wonderful time in this Riad!

  • The Riad is beautiful, and well decorated. It also has a nice Terrace looking over a garden , nice chill ! We were welcomed by the nice lady who lives there with mint Tea and cookies !! Location very central , in the Medina , which is where you want to spend your time in Fes. The only unexpected detail is that we did not know the lady will spend the night in the Riad, but I guess it's helpful for first time tourists to Fes as she can advise and help them if needed ! Nice stay overall ! Thanks.

  • I can HIGHLY recommend staying at Riad Jamaï! The staff are so lovely and very helpful, they provided us with a delicious complimentary breakfast each morning and pots of moroccan tea whenever we asked at no cost. The riad itself is beautiful and feels very luxurious, we enjoyed swimming in the pool and sitting on the rooftop and watching the sunset over the city. The location is great to explore the medina. This riad made our stay in Fes extremely enjoyable and I would definitely stay again!

    Anna2015-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • No one was there when I arrived. I had to wait an hour at a nearby cafe until I received a phone call from the host. Then upon leaving I was informed that I was being charged for the tea that I drank (apparently the first pot is free and every one after that isn't). Aside from these inconveniences the riad was beautiful, has amazing views of the medina, and the staff is very attentive. Would recommend, but call them in advance to ensure someone will be there when you arrive.

  • Mohammed our host was so helpful at all times. Giving us good advice on arrival and during our stay. He personally took me to the pharmacy when my grown up daughter became quite poorly. Breakfast was always served with a smile. He ordered taxi's for us and helped us with taxi's for other members of our family that were staying in another part of the medina. Let them use the plunge pool as they didn't have one. Arranged a tour around the medina so that we could get our bearings. Abdul the guide was very informative and helpful, especially when the other members became lost. Just one bit of advice if you want to eat dinner at jamai make sure that you pre order in the morning, or you won't be able to. Overall a welcoming Riad with hospitable host.

  • Riad Jamai was a great stay! As a solo traveler, it was in the perfect location accessible to everything in the city, the medina and the new city. It was in a perfect spot in the medina, not overwhelmingly crowded or confusing. Very easy to navigate. The staff was also amazing! I felt comfortable and felt like I could reach out if I needed anything. They were so attentive and just overall great people. Breakfast is also pretty good and kept me full all day. I would definitely recommend Riad Jamai!

  • Apologies it took a while to write as we are still traveling all over morocco! Nevertheless, just wanted to thank Soufiane for his fantastic hospitality throughout our stay. He was always taking care of our needs and we appreciate that very much! And we chose to have the meal on out last night at the riad and we didn't make a wrong choice at all. Food tasted amazing and you can really feel and taste that moroccan flair in every dish. Special thanks to Samra( not sure if that's the spelling of her name). Thank you for everything guys! Good luck and bless your hearts!

  • We enjoyed Soufiane’s hospitality for two nights in April 2014. Upon our arrival, we were welcomed with traditional Moroccan mint tea and shown to our room on the second floor of the beautiful riad, which was very clean and decorated with a great sense of taste. The two highlights of our stay were the delicious and plentiful fresh-air breakfasts on the rooftop terrace and a visit to a genuine Moroccan hammam nearby. Our host was very attentive to all our needs and wishes: for example, he led us to the hammam (which we had walked passed several times beforehand, but never noticed!) and helped negotiate a reasonable price for us. Definitely one of the best experiences in Morocco!

    Annika2014-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • Barhim is so nice and funny and helpful. The rooftop is beautifully designed, and the house is in Medina, with easy access and quiet accommodation.

  • Staying with Soufiane was great, my friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience with him. He was a great host and was very helpful, even organised a tour guide for us. If you get the chance you should definitely have a meal at his Riad, it was one of the best meals we've had in Morocco. The room was very spacious and although we did not have hot water, Soufiane was very apologetic and was able to fix this on the last day. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you for a great stay Soufiane! Christine

  • Astonishing place te stay! I booked this riad for three nights, together with my girlfriend. Maria's mother (who is also Dutch) guided us around the Medina. We've had great conversations on the roof terrace in the evenings and Soufiane was a very kind host. The rooms were fabulous and inspirational! Clean and well maintained. Superb. I can recommend this riad to anyone who is looking for a cosy, clean and comfortable stay in Fes. Great price/performance ratio. Be sure to try the delicious food!

  • Soufiane was the perfect host, incredibly helpful, accommodating and friendly. The Riad was in a great location, just on the edge of the Medina so quiet but still very near everything you want to visit. Our room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable and we had delicious fresh breakfasts everyday on the lovely roof terrace. Altogether a great place to stay, I want to go back already. Thank you Soufiane!

  • You couldn't ask for a better experience and location than this. Situated on the edge of the old medina, this place is a small, beautiful, and authentically moroccan bed and breakfast with a couple guest rooms. All the guest rooms overlook a central courtyard which is open for use, as well as a roof terrace. Breakfast is free, but you can pay for authentic moroccan lunches or dinners- which I very highly recommend. Where this place really goes above and beyond, though, is the people. Maria's mother and brother took amazing care of us and truly cared that we had an enjoyable stay. They have wonderful suggestions of what to do and, for a small fee, they will take you out into the city and show you around. I would also recommend doing this as it is a bit hard to get around without knowing arabic or french. In short, this is the place to go if you're looking for an authentic moroccan experience with amazing food and genuine moroccan people. A win-win.

The private parking lot is also a great addition. The palace is walking distance to the main square and souks. The place is clean, the rooms are huge and of course, palatial. It's hard not to feel like royalty staying here. Special thanks to Moha and the rest of the service crew. Everything about this place was so special and picturesque!

Riad Saada is a traditional house in the middle of the ancient medina of Fez. The house is rented with staff for daily cleaning, breakfast and cooking (meals will cost 9€/pers) I want you to discover the wonderfull moroccan tradition.
Riad Saada is a traditional house build in the XIX century in an arabo-andalous style. Restored as carefully as possible, with local craftsmen. The entire riad, with 6 bedrooms, 2 badrooms and 3 salons will be your family holiday home. Hicham cares for you, goes shopping for you. He can care for the children, play moroccan music with them. Safia and Fatima clean daily the house. They will also cook for you, and give you cooking courses if you want. Riad Saada is situated in the middle of the old medina, near the souk and the monuments. You can park your car in a garded parking. Hicham will wait there for you, lead you to the house (15 minutes by foot) and take care of your luggage. Moroccan breakfast with traditional pastry and fresh orange juice is included in the price. We can also organize moroccan music concert in the patio. The local public hammam is a few minutes away from the house and we can lead you there : a great experience.
  • We had an amazing time at the Riad Saada. I went as the leader of a group of 14 and we all loved it. Hichem took care of every need and constantly checked up on us to make sure all was good. We loved the space in the Riad. Lots of great public and private spaces. The terrace is a fantastic place to enjoy the evenings. The location in the middle of the medina is just where you want to be. We were met at the train station by taxis they had arranged and Hichem and a luggage porter arrived to escort us from the drop off point to the Riad. The meals were all great and according to our preferences and they were really accommodating. I'd go back any time to this Riad. It's a lovely place run by great people!

  • Wow! This Riad is BEAUTIFUL! And if you think the photos look great, wait until you see it in person. It's an incredible place with warm, friendly and helpful staff. Rabia (owner) and Hicham (assistant) were very responsive before and after booking. Hicham received us at Fez to walk us to the riad, and he was very helpful throughout our stay. He recommended delicious restaurants, things to do, connected us with the most amazing tour guide I've ever met, etc. The staff Safia and Fatiha were very sweet and helpful. They don't speak English (Safia speaks some French), and Fatiha only Arabic. It was fun communicating with them using the (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Translate app. The breakfast was delicious and we also requested a home cooked dinner at the riad - super traditional and scrumptious! I highly recommend this gorgeous Riad with their friendly staff to anyone traveling to Fez.

  • We had a really memorable experience at the Riad Saada. Hichame and the ladies of Saada were very kind and tended to our every need. We were definitely fed very well. The breakfast is absolutely delicious. I was not disappointed from the pictures to the actual place. I would definitely consider returning. Thank you Rabia. Tony

  • The riad was a well maintained jewel dating back more than a hundred years. The staff was the smiliest and most hospitable I have encountered in guesthouses. The manager Hicham made sure to make us feel confortable and we were so confortable with him that we decided to let him take us around old Fes. My mother, sister and the kids greatly appreciated it. It felt like visiting family in Fes! Will definitely make sure to use this wonderful gem next time around. on the practical side, the riad is big, quiet, very clean and central to the old medina. Oh and the food they cooked us, divine!

  • Riad Saada is a fantastic place to stay in Fez! We had a really good time there. It's a very beautiful house restored with very good taste. Fatima and Fatisha cooked delicios traditional Moroccan food for us and Hisham made our stay very pleasant. He organized interesting Fez and Meknes tours. They are all very nice and helpfull! We really recommend it!!

  • Rabia's Riad Saada is fantastic. It is very central and has fantastic facilities and staff. Don't hesitate - book it. You will not regret.

  • Rabia provided all the necessary information to get to the Riad and a responsive contact to help us get settled in. The riad was nice, though do note that the stairs are a little steep (sleep in one of the two ground floor bedrooms if you're not good at climbing stairs). The view from the cozy rooftop makes for a beautiful sunrise. Rabia's assistant met us on the street and took us through the winding streets to get to the house - we would've gotten lost otherwise! It was very helpful. The assistant was very nice and accommodating, but some things were lost in translation, so do be very clear in your communications.

    Elizabeth2015-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • Hicham was waiting for us when we arrived. Around 10mins walk to the riad, could be quite challenging for people with younger kids and older people. Once we arrived at the house, the interior took our breath away. It is so beautiful and spacious. More rooms upstairs but the stairs is so steep and small. Can be dangerous for younger kids. Breakfast was included and it was great. Overall good accommodation for big groups.

RIAD TAHA is a very eye-catching mansion which is strategically located in the heart of the old Medina in Fez City. Specifically, it is a traditional house which is typical of the Medina structural design and the Islamic architecture.
This charming Guest House combines between traditional and modern architecture , quiet and relaxing.
  • The Riad is absolutely beautiful. We felt really welcomed and found the room very comfortable. We also enjoyed having dinner in the Riad and chatting over tea with Mohammed and his brother.

  • Our family of 4 stayed at Mohammed's place for 2 nights. It was fantastic! Mohammed and Hamou were very kind, friendly and welcoming. The building was very open and beautiful with different secluded rooms and a scenic terrace with the view of the old medina. The riad was in the perfect location in the medina close to everything. Throughout our stay Hamou made us feel very comfortable and at home, The cook made fantastic food and the breakfasts were amazing! The Riad Taha was a spectacular place with a fantastic host, convenient location, great food and stunning building. It was a superb place to stay that we would strongly recommend.

  • Mohammed and Omar were very open and friendly guys. They are always ready to help you or if you need information. They also respect the quietness in the riad as other riads can be a bit noisy. Perfect place to rest out and to get energy to visit Fez.

  • By staying with Mohammed we had the perfect visit to Fez. The Riad is so beautiful, and in a perfect location. Close to everything but in a more local section of the old city, avoiding the overwhelmed tourist section. Our hosts were great with communication and very accommodating. They offered us invaluable advice about the old medina, planning our excursions inside and outside of Fez. Riad Taha is the perfect place to stay and explore Fez.

  • This riad is a really nice place to stay! The riad itself was amazing, very nice rooftop terrace with a view over the medina. It is also good located in the medina, very close to place rcif which is a big busy market. Mohammed was a really nice and helpful host!

  • The riad is conveniently located in the old part of the city. It is only a two minute walk away from the buzzing souks of Fes, yet it is a very peaceful and quiet place. Mohammed and Hamid took great care of us. They arranged for a pick up upon arrival and gave us invaluable tips for our stay. If you're looking for an example of Moroccan hospitality look no further! The breakfast was exceptional and so was the room. The bed was very comfortable and probably the biggest one we've ever slept in. If you visit Fes, Mohammed's riad is the place to stay.

  • I'm already living in Fes since more than a year and I've seen so many places, but there is something with this place which I doubt anyone else can offer and that's the amazing and astonishing view from the roof balcony. It was amazing experience having breakfast there with such a beautiful view. Even though my stay was short the experience was amazing. It's not only the host which makes u feel comfortable there, the place itself is in a good location. Most of common visited places by tourists are near the location I slept. From the rooftop we were able to see university Qarawiyyin with its Masjid and the very known leather tradition which Medina in Fes is known since centuries. Old city is everything about real Moroccan architecture, tradition, mosques, leather, silver, food etc, if you feel tired after visiting a place for two hours you can always come back in your room have a tea, take some rest and continue with visiting other places. I definitively recommend to everyone Aziz's place.

  • Simply excellent. Nice, kind and helpful staff, superb roooms, perfect view, lovely food. Highly recommended!

  • We had a really great stay at Aziz's place. It is very easy walking from the big gate Place R'cif. Our hosts were all very lovely, kind and trustworthy. Our room was on the first floor, was very spacious with a double bed and 2 singles. The shower had great hot water and good pressure. There was working air conditioner/heater which we avoided using to save energy and plenty of warm clean blankets. The terrace had the most amazing panoramic view of the city. You can see far in all directions, watch a sunset while you hear the call to prayer echoe over the city. We had a complimentary typical Moroccan breakfast on the terrace each morning which was probably the best yet during our stay with fresh eggs cooked with spices in a targine, fresh bread and pastries, mint tea and milk and coffee.

  • I highly recommend staying at Riad al Bacha. My boyfriend and I had such a lovely stay here that we ended up coming back again to finish off our trip in Morocco. The Riad is exactly as described, and was extremely clean with a beautiful terrace that had an amazing view of the city (the Riad is located in the heart of the medina). However what made our stay so perfect was the kindness and warmth of Said and his team working at the Riad. We were first timers to Morocco and Said and Salima went out of their way to help us (whether this was with directions, buying train tickets, finding places to eat or booking taxis). We stayed in a few lovely places in Morocco, but this really was our highlight and if we ever return to Fes we will definitely be returning. Thank you!

    Kathryn2017-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • They really helpful and warm hearted.helped us a lot. Tell us the places to go booked the taxi for us.but the only problem is we paid extra tax ,it's not very good.

    2017-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay at Riad el Bacha. The riad was very clean and was located right at the heart of the Medina, exactly as described. However it was the kindness and generosity of Said and the staff that made our stay truly special. We highly highly recommend staying here, not only will your breakfast keep you going for hours (homemade ommelettes, pancakes, coffee and more) you will also always have people on hand to ask for help and advice (whether this be booking taxis, train tickets or just navigating the Medina). We are very grateful for being given such a wonderful first experience in Morocco.

The room was great, the sofas areas is perfect for an evening conversation, the windows are decorated with colored glass and they have a central facing on a beautiful court! • We fully enjoyed our stay at El Mokri. Amazing room, great breakfast and great guide arranged by Youssef. One thing to mention is that when you book this place, you should expect to have the very unique experience to stay at a real palace. It's not a comfy modern apartment, where the room temperature can be easily adjusted or has a modern kitchen.

    Sae2017-04-12T00:00:00Z
  • Place was really beautiful, you feel like royalty walking into the place. We only stayed for 1 night in this magical place but it certainly was not enough. It is a 10 min walk from the market ( souk) which was really convenient and half an hour drive from the airport. Youssef was very attentive and responded to our messages immediately. Beautiful place perfectly located.

    Tinbite2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing night stay in the palace. The room is even more beautiful than on the pictures and we were happy to have Youssef tell us about the history of his family and of the place. He was also very helpful in helping us arrange a trip to the Sahara desert. Highly recommended!

    Edwige2017-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • The palace is beautiful, just like the pictures! We appreciated it's location in a quiet, peaceful neighborhood, although it was a little out of the way for the tourist attractions we chose to visit. Youseff provided good directions and made check in and check our easy.

Built in 1904, this Riad recovered in 2010, was restored with special attention at the pace of life that was hers in the past. It will revive for you the traditions and culture of Fez.
Family home and ancestral Arab-Andalusia style jewel, this Riad was carefully restored and fashioned into a luxurious guest house with authentic and traditional decors ( panoramic terrace with stunning views of the legendary medina of Fez ) ;)
Located in Fes El Bali, this luxury riad is within a 15-minute walk of Bab Ftouh and University of Al-Karaouine. Medersa Bou-Inania and Tombs of the Merenides are also within 3 mi (5 km).
  • We decided to stay in a different Riad in the middle of our trip to Morocco and we're really glad we decided on Riad Borj Dhab. In fact we originally only booked one night but have ended up staying for four. The place is beautiful and with a large internal courtyard. The food in the restaurant is good and the balcony over the medina gives a fantastic view. It's a relaxing retreat from the bustle of the medina. The best thing about our stay here however has been the staff as they have been hugely accomodating helpful and friendly, and we were very glad to have Noor whose English was good to help us out with anything we needed. In particular today we have struggled to find anywhere to eat as it is a festival here in Morocco and nothing is open. we camr back and the staff offered us traditional food at no cost which was extremely welcome. I'd recoomend this place to anyone staying in Fez.

  • My stay at The Riad was amazing from the start to finish! All the staff was amazing Hanene and Nour made our stay absolutely wonderful they made us feel at home and anything we needed help with or had questions with they offered. Our first time in Morocco and the whole staff made it a really great experience. Would absolutely be coming back and staying here again. Very recommend. 5 stars And very close to the Medina very clean place and great food. And offered us great transportation service to wherever we needed to be. Amazing Amazing Amazing.

  • This Riad is beautiful, comfortable, and well located. The AC, much needed in the summer, is excellent! Cable TV (with even English speaking channels) is provided and good wifi. But, what really makes Salah's place outstanding is the magnificent staff. Everyone was professional, kind and helpful. Hanane and Noor especially lend their charm and graciousness toward making this BnB extra special. They exude patience, kindness, anticipate your needs, and extend themselves in any and every way possible to make you feel like family. Do not hesitate to book here. I intend to return one day.

  • Very interesting experience we had at this riad. We were met on the road by the receptionist/host who when approached by a bag carrier said yes we would use his services when we said no, we got to the riad and was told we had to pay him, when we did the host said it was not enough so we had to give more so wasn't very impressed with that when we said no from the beginning. Then in the space of about an hour the host/receptionist told us about a tour many many times, as in at least 20 times even when we said we were not interested so was rather odd and put pressure on us to go on a tour but in his defence he may have been told to do this from his employer. We did have an unpleasant experience when we asked for recommendations for where to eat we said we were starving and we would like somewhere very close, he then walked us to an area which would have been over 20 minutes away and in the absolute worst part of Fes. We ended up refusing to eat where he took us as the food did not look safe. We had a feeling that he took us a long way away through confusing streets and to an unsafe part of the city so we would need him to take us back and then we would be able to charge us for his services. We could be wrong but we did not understand why else he would take us to this horrible area. In terms of the room itself, we had no issues at all, like many other riads it was pretty. The only small problem was that the beds are very hard and the towels smelt like body odour. Included breakfast which was good and communication by the host was very good. I would recommend only if you are on a budget and if you are very firm from the beginning that you will not sway to the pressure from the host and just use the room for a place to sleep.

  • Although the location was hard to find, the host picked us up at 7:00 a.m. after a 10 hours bus time. The hostel was historical and beautiful, the room was large and cozy, wifi ran well, though the light indoor was a little bit too dark. With a balcony on the roof, there's beautiful scene of the whole Fés city. The host treated us well, prepared a big breakfast for us, we really enjoyed it.

  • Not the most central location, not near the blue gate or restaurants. The hosts were nice however they weren't very helpful when we were trying to find our way to the riad on the first day. There are signs in the medina but you have to be looking for them. At night the noise of the hosts and other guests can be heard from the room. The room itself is spacious and clean

  • Had such a wonderful time in Fes and Mohammed at Riad Tamo made sure we explored all we could in the time we had by giving us super helpful tips! Overall everyone at the riad was extremely friendly! Breakfast every morning at the terrace overlooking the medina was unbelievable and the breakfast itself was absolutely delicious. The wifi works quite well and we had hot water every night. The location couldn't be any more perfect, a short walk from the hustle and bustle of the medina and very close to Place Rcif where you can have dinner. Riad Dar Tamo made our stay in Fes that much more perfect! Thank you!!

Open, bright, and spacious riad with private garden filled with aromatic plants and fountains in the old medina of Fez. Awake to the call for prayer and the birds singing in the garden. You'll enjoy how we've seamlessly joined a modern house with an ancient traditional salon and Andalusian garden. Our address Derb Sidi Bouazza 15 - a 5 minute walk from the parking- Zenkat Qued Zahoune. Close to the Chouara Tannery and near Place Seffarine.
The center of our home is the garden - full of flowers and pungent herbs.
Our quarter is called Blida. We are close to Place Seffarine, the University of al-Qarawiyyin, the Mosque al-Qarawiyyin, the Tannery, and Palais Amani. There are several kiosks near the house selling bottled water cola, etc. For coffee, We recommend the upstairs at the coffee shop next to the Mosque al-Qarawiyyin.

  • Hamada house was really great-better than the pictures! The terrace was a favourite place to relax especially at sunset. It was plenty big enough for our whole family. Nora and Kamal were really great hosts and very helpful with whatever we needed. Hannah also cooked great food for us. Hamada was very responsive and quick to get back to any questions. Nora came to collect us from the Bab. It would have been tricky to find the house without that. It was close to the gate which was good. The neighbourhood seemed a little poorer and not touristy. It is close to the fruit and veg market.

  • I rented whole of house. But when I checked in, I found two big problems. 1. The concierge living same house. This house is not big and there is a young male concierge. We are the family who only female, and child. It means we feel uncomfortable. In addition it's need to share the toilet with that guy. 2. They not allow that guest use the kitchen. But there is a option "Kitchen" in information of Airb&b. When I asked about it , they told me it means just "we have a kitchen, not for you." It was the most strange says I've ever heard!!!!!!! When I searched a house, I made option "whole of house." not only room. But this house was managed that rent for room like a hotel. It's totally diffrent. I requested it that let us use the kitchen (only for simple foods) and we dont need the concierge. First time they didn't accept it, but I explained to them. (I didn't understand why I should persuade them!!!!!) Anyway they accept my request. I wouldn't stay in this house if they didn't accept my request. And there was no cleaning even I paid for clean the rooms. Otherwise the house is not bad. The location is pretty good and there is 4 double bed rooms. The rooms are clean but there are bad smells in the toilet. And one day morning we found the died huge cockroachs. But everything was fine except it. Anyway if you want to rent whole of house, it's not for you. Keep it.

    Bora2017-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • The house is huge you can many people in there but you need to be aware that there's going to be a housekeeper staying with us. However he is the sweetiest guy ever. Although he doesnt speak english, he calls a guy who can translate for us and he also prepared us some fruits, orange juices and also the water bottles when we were leaving for the airport. Also, check-in and check-out time is anytime you want so its really convenient if you have a late flight time. Definitely recommend this house for travelers :) we had the best stay there!
