Places to stay in Ethridge
Off the Grid Small 1 bed 1 bath cabin with cots available for more people. Close drive to antiquing in Hohenwald, Shopping and lunch at The Hippy Commune, (3) local Wineries open daily, The Amish community, and Hiking along the Natchez Trace, Horse Back riding and Meriwether Lewis State Park. There is a lot to do close for the outdoor enthusiast. I am Horse friendly so if you and your horse need a break i have pasture and a stall to keep you as long as you like.
I live on the property and would be happy to assist in anyway I can. This property is off the grid meaning it is solar powered so please conserve electricity. This simply means the property is powered by solar panels and there are a few restrictions such as no microwave (bad for you anyway), no coffee maker (peculator is in the cabin and makes better coffee too), no electric heating (wouldn't you rather have a fire)? A hair dryer will be fine as long as its not used for extensive amounts of time. Lights and fans really dont draw to much power so use them all you need. There is an Air Conditioner but it is hooked to a separate gas powered generator since it draws so much power from the solar system. There is extra gas stored next to the generator. The animals all love a treat and feel free to bring some snacks for them and yourself. There is a full small kitchen with cooking utensils ect. There is also a TV with some local channels to watch a game or the news. WiFi is there but works best on the porch and sometimes intermittent since its not cable internet.
Close drive to the Hippy Commune (The Farm), Amish Community, Antique district, Wineries, horse back riding, swimming and soaking in the Buffalo River and Hiking along the Natchez Trace. Let me know if your interested in doing horse back riding and I will get you in touch with the Mule Ranch in town.
  • Great dog friendly retreat. Would definitely recommend!

  • John is a great host! Great place to get back to nature but not too far from town.

  • Really nice place to stay and John is a terrific host!!!

  • Easy to get to and entire family enjoyed it!

  • Truly enjoyed my night at Johns place! It’s private but easy to get to, just a mile or so from Natchez Trace. Amenities were just right for the space , I could have comfortably stayed for a week. Great to sit on the porch and watch the ducks and critters as the sun goes down. Recommend highly and would come again!

    Tara2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Love this place so peaceful! And John was so helpful, the cabin had everything you would need! And so very cute, we will be back for a week in the fall!

  • A cute, comfortable cabin with relaxing and fun views of the working farm. The home is well kept and clean, while still having a rustic, woodsy vibe. John was fast with responses and in offering any help we needed with the home or the area. Easy to locate and convenient to Hohenwald. Highly recommend this home!

    Allison2019-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • John was a friendly host and his spot is a gem. He greeted us immediately and showed us the lay of the farm and his dog was friendly with mine, also. This is a sweet little cabin- waking up to roosters and cows right outside your window. Also very close to Meriweather Lewis park which was nice for hiking. If it rains when you stay- the porch has a metal roof and is perfect for relaxing. There is no air conditioning in summer but the fans are more than adequate (I actually got chilly a few times). My boyfriend and I plan to be guests again!

Welcome to the heart of Amish country. You'll be staying right on the Amish block, where Amish buggies and tours pass by frequently. This home portrays quite, relaxing, and inviting ammenities. Each room is stocked with plush linens and pillows for a relaxing nights rest, as well as a breakfast bar to help yourself. We've added grab and go snacks, cereal, and more to our coffee bar. You'll find eggs and milk in the fridge, as well. Use our covered porch and patio to relax while you're here!
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Should you be renting our home in the month of DECEMBER 2019, you will only have access to 2 of our 3 bedrooms at our home. You'll have the entire home to yourself, however, one room will be locked due to redecorating. Rentals in 2020 will have access to all 3 bedrooms. We are located right in the heart of Amish country where you can use our covered porch to sit and watch the buggies ride by. Please no photographs of our Amish neighbors. We've thought of almost every detail to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. (If you see something you think we could add to better future stays, please leave those suggestions in the guest book!) We have one king room and two queen rooms, all stocked with plush linens and pillows. The single bathroom in the home is stocked with plush towels and all of the toiletries you could ever need, just check the hall closet if you've forgotten something important. Our kitchen is also stocked with grab and go snacks, cereals, coffee for our Keurig, and milk in the fridge. We are available to stock other items upon request and a small fee depending on what the items are. Inside the house, you'll find a house manual with the house rules (these are just basic, don't get crazy rules), favorite places to dine, shop, and things to do. We do offer WiFi, but please remember, we are in a very rural part of Tennessee so the signal could be spotty at times, and it will interfere with our Netflix. We hope you enjoy your stay in Amish Country! Please let us know how we can assist in making your stay the best it can be. Upon booking, please let us know if you have any potential allergies we should be aware of. If any house rules pertaining to, but not limited to, no smoking and/or no parties, are not followed, you will incur a minimum $500 cleaning fee. By booking our property, you are agreeing to our terms and conditions.
We are located in a small town, just outside the city limits. No need to fret, we don't even have a red light so the "city" is really just comprised of the Amish Welcome Centers, flea market, two country stores, a post office, and a police station. We do have a couple of elderly neighbors so you'll need to keep noise to a minimum.
  • This is a great location if you're wanting to spend some time among the amish. Jodi is a wonderful host and she is very thoughtful with the arrangements and amenities. I highly recommend staying with her.

This is 1 of 3 properties we have for rent on Muletown Farm. A charming, fully equipped cabin built in the early 1800's as a "writer's" cabin. Bathroom, windows, heating/cooling, gas fireplace have recently been updated to make your time here as relaxing as possible. Enjoy breathtaking views of sunset, sip a cup of coffee on a rocking chair front porch or cook up some s’mores around the fire pit. Stroll our 32 acre property or hop in the car for a hike at the nearby Stillhouse Hollow Falls.
Cabin has a full studio apartment on the bottom floor and 1 bedroom upstairs. Two full beds: one on the bottom floor and one upstairs. There is a lazy boy pull out love seat that sleeps an additional person. Full bathroom on first floor. We are located just 55 minutes from downtown Nashville and 40 from historic Franklin.
We live on a 32 acre farm so if privacy is what you want, you will find it here. We have 2 cabins and a ranch farmhouse that we rent to guests.
  • Always a great place to stay.

I'm Eric and I live in a recently finished home just to the west of Lawrenceburg, TN. It's an original design I did much of the work to myself, and I'd love to share 2 of the 3 bedrooms with guests either short term, or as extended stay for people who come for work or play in southern middle Tennessee. Accessible to Amish Country, The Farm of Summertown, TN, the Natchez Trace, David Crockett State Park, the Natural Bridge, Buffalo River, and Shoal Creek.
I work long hours in my small manufacturing business so I'm easy to get along with when I'm home. I'd love to hear your story and socialize but I can make myself scarce as well. I share the house with two friendly kitties, but they can stay out in the garage when needed.
  • Excellent. House is gorgeous. Very safe upscale neighborhood. Beautiful country setting! Excellent host

    Tonya2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Eric’s place is very clean, and very stylish. One of the nicest bathrooms ever. The house is super close to the highway there, but is setback enough for your privacy. Beautiful view out the back too. Everything that you would need is there, and it feels like you’re still in your own home. Eric is a great host and will work with your arrival schedule to meet you there for checkin and can be your best friend while you’re there or the doorman, your choice.

    Kacee2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Hands down the best airbnb I have stayed in to date! I have always been a city girl, so wasn't sure how it would be to be in the country, but it was really soothing and relaxing being out of the hustle and bustle. Eric's place has a pond to the side of the house and a swing where you can sit and relax. I am not even a bird watcher but really liked looking at the colorful birds that hang around the property. While you are out in the country, you are not out of civilization, Eric's place has all the modern conveniences and is really beautiful and full of great design and craftsmanship - I was impressed by his modern home. Also, I have stayed at other airbnbs where reviewers have written they were spotless, and haven't always agreed with other people's reviews. This place is truly spotless, so please respect this wonderful place if you stay there. Finally, this airbnb is really close to an Amish community, so if like me you are interested in learning about Amish culture there is an Amish Welcome Center where you can learn more, or you can drive around and wherever you see a sign for fresh eggs, cheese, baked goods or custom furniture you can stop and buy something directly from the Amish families and get a glimpse into their very different way of life. If I am ever in the area again I will stay here for sure. Eric was a kind and generous host and a really talented and interesting person to get to know.

  • I travell all year and stay all over the country, this is by far my best stay so far. Eric is super friendly and helpful. The room is clean and the bed is extremely comfortable. Deffinetly a place to stay hands down. Thanks Eric!

  • Beautiful place. Cabin-like meets modern and stylish. Eric was professional and friendly. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

If you've ever wanted to stay in a yurt, now is your chance. This is a rustic yet clean & modern space, with one futon bed, a composting toilet, and an outdoor shower. Two hammocks hang on the porch in the breezeway. The space is private with a beautiful garden, and a serene pond with a walking trail around it. Only minutes away from The Farm, known for their natural midwife center. Whether you come to visit friends, family, getaway, or an artist retreat, we welcome you!
There are several places to get some good food with nice atmospheres.
  • Beautiful and cozy. The description doesn’t do it justice. If you need a daily shower maybe not the best for you (not enough hot water) but if you’re only staying a couple nights it’s no matter. Overall a really calm and restorative space.

    Meredith2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed Michelle's yurt! Such a peaceful retreat :)

    Laurel2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful nature setting and a gracious, helpful host.

  • Awesome place! 5 stars all around.

    Chris2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great relaxing place to stay! We loved the seating on porch (hammocks & recliner chairs). Loved the inside of yurt...looking up at skylight. We cooked 2 meals while we were there & sat on porch to eat. Very Spacious yurt. Loved hearing the rain on the roof. While you’re there go check out the Farm Store down the road. Neat place. And also the hippie bus & mushroom grain silos. Lots of history in the area. Also visited the Amish community a few miles away. Always love going there. Lots of treasures to be found! Will definitely be back to stay here! Very peaceful out in the country!

    Jill2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • I have stayed at many Airbnb locations, however this place took the prize! If you are looking for peace, open space and a wonderful host, you will find it here. Absolutely glorious!

    Carol2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • My experience at the Yurt was amazing. I was needing to take a few days to myself for some relaxation, meditation, and yoga to get centered and the Yurt was the perfect place to do that. The property is beautiful. I loved the hammocks and outdoor shower. Michelle was a very thoughtful and communicative host throughout. If you appreciate nature and need some calm in your life, I'd definitely recommend this place!

My studio cabin is surrounded by hardwood trees, walking trails, and graceful meadows. There are plenty of family-friendly activities nearby including a disc golf course, The Farm Community, antique shopping, Amish markets, and the best BBQ in Tennessee. You’ll love staying in this quiet, peaceful cabin in the woods because of its coziness, high ceilings, natural light, and location. My place is good for couples and solo adventurers. Pets are welcome with advance notice.
This is an open floor plan. There are no doors or walls between the kitchen, living room, and bedroom areas. There is a twin daybed that can comfortably sleep one adult or child and there is one queen bed. There is a small closet for clothes and a second closet with washer and dryer.
Don't be fooled by the colorful cast of characters you may pass on your way to the cabin. This truly is the Deep South. While they may appear rough and tumble on the outside, I have some of this country's nicest neighbors. Keep an eye out for the flag poles lining a sharp curve in the road, that's Alvin's house. A word of caution, he loves to talk! The road is named for his family and he loves to tell you all about the history of the area. My place is just past his on the left.
  • Gretchen was quick to get back to me whenever I reached out to her. Her home is cozy and very well maintained. We will for sure be back. Thank you so much!

    Cassie2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was amazing! A beautiful view, perfectly clean, with everything one could possibly need. The hiking trails within miles of the cabin were beautiful, and the surrounding town was full of very nice people. Will definitely be staying here again in the near future!

    Carlin2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great secluded little cabin that has anything you could possibly need, the beds are very comfortable, a very cute set up, feels like home away from home with no distractions

    Lorri2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Gretchen’s place was way above what we expected. We were looking for a weekend getaway that we can take the dogs on and the cabin came up as the best value for the space. When we arrive it was better than any expectations. The view was spectacular and we really enjoyed the privacy and quietness of the location. We walked the disc golf trail and the dogs loved the open space. We also checked out the local Amish markets and shops and bought some goodies to bring home. The games and books were a nice touch, we finished a whole puzzle during the weekend we were there. It was a perfect weekend. Thank you for allowing us to bring our furry loved ones with us! We would definitely come back and recommend it to anyone.

    Andy2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The pictures don’t even do this cabin justice!! It was absolutely amazing, and I would highly recommend staying here!!!!!

    Katelyn2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was a perfect place to stay for a cold winter weekend. I had hoped to explore outdoors more, but honestly, it was so cozy and comfortable, I really enjoyed just relaxing inside. Everything is clean, the kitchen is well stocked, and the setup feels both simple and luxurious. I would definitely come back!

    Laura2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • I cannot say enough good things about Gretchen‘s place. It was super clean, and it had everything you could possibly need. My husband and I especially loved the screened porch, and you can walk right over to a disc golf course. Slept great, too!

Do you fancy yourself a minimalist? Try this for a "simple living" experience, inspiration, and a taste of living in our intentional community, inside the gate of The Farm. Add a healing session if you like. Good eats, hiking and biking roads, streams, and Amish country are quite close. A recent guest said:: “Thank you so very much for your warmth and hospitality. My stay was so peaceful and relaxing, and I will always remember being serenaded by the wood thrush throughout my stay!"
See how comfy a tiny space can be! Guests have stayed as long as 2 weeks so far. It has A/C, heat, bathroom with shower, single bed, room to store things under bed, on shelves and in a little closet, plenty of lights, fan, and kitchenette. This 12 x 12 cabin is a guest studio on the site where I gave birth to my son 45 years ago (in an army tent-house.) The community: About midway between Nashville TN and Florence AL, The Farm community of almost 200 residents stewards 1750 acres as a land trust. Each place on The Farm has a story dating back to when we first settled this land. Tomas and I live in our small house, which used to be a pottery shed, next to the mini-home. We enjoy the opportunity to provide hospitality in this place where we have so much history and friends we have had for over 47 years since we founded The Farm.
The Farm community was settled in 1971 by people who grew up in the 50s and 60s and is world-famous for demonstrating an alternative to mainstream ways of living. Over time it evolved from commune to a collective. As a land trust we steward 1,750 acres of land, most of which is nature preserve with year-round streams, hills and valleys, meadows and a dense hardwood forest with lots of wildlife. Walking is safe on our dirt and paved system of roads. Many residents travel on quiet electric golf carts. There is a basketball court, a playground with a zip line, and a small food and sundries store 1/2 mile walk away from the mini-home. Scenic drives, hiking trails, local Amish and antique wares, consignments shops, parks, creeks, rivers, waterfalls, and lakes are not far outside the gate. A bank, post office, eateries, and medical office are local. The area near The Farm has been settled by folks from around the US, adding some spice to the local flavors. Local parks include David Crockett State Park, with a restaurant on the lake, and the Natchez Trace Scenic Parkway with many sights to stop and enjoy. It connects Nashville, Tennessee (north) to Natchez, Mississippi (south).
  • Kathleen has a great cozy get away spot. It looks like a mini apartment in the wilderness with the perfect amount of warmth, grace, and hospitality. Loved the amenities and staying at The Farm. Kathleen is a great hostess, she made sure I was more than comfortable, and offered me a meal with her family. Thank you Kathleen!

    Lydia2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful people. Great place to stay. Loved the community and the wonderful people I met.

    Dori2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Kathleen and Tomas were excellent hosts. I so needed a recharge and I got it! Not only was the tiny house/ warm and cozy, so were Kathleen and Tomas. It felt like I was staying with friends who gave me my privacy but also made sure I felt welcomed. If you are looking for an escape from city living without giving up all of your creature comforts, you will enjoy this stay a great deal. I also highly recommend the community potluck if you’re there on a Friday.

    India2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • The tiny house was as advertised and well enough stocked that I could tackle a small kitchen prep project. Kathleen even brought me a plate of food from their community potluck when I arrived later than planned.

    New2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Kathleen and Tomas’ tiny house is just as described. It is cozy and comfortable. The community is nestled in acres of beautiful woodlands. They were warm & welcoming hosts. We accidentally left some clothes behind, and Kathlren mailed them to us right away. This is a perfect place for someone who wants to experience living minimally and off the grid, while reconnecting to nature and oneself.

    Aj2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely respite I had staying in Kathleen's mini home. She was a wonderful host and the space was so cute and peaceful. I couldn't have asked for a better experience!

Cozy home in the country with surrounding woods, and wildlife right in the back yard. Fall foliage is very pretty. Property is nestled in 35 acres with some walking trails. Convenient store and restaurants within 2 miles. Full kitchen for homemade meals.
Outdoor grill on site. Outdoor chairs and table too.
This can be your peaceful spot in the country to get away stress, traffic, and noise. Davie Crocket state park is 15 minute drive away, and for big city life, Florence Al. is 20 miles South.
  • Jeffrey’s little place was my idea of perfect! I love the layout and it’s decorated very nicely. The bed is simply outstanding ... The mattress and bedding bring to mind the word luxurious! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone who needed a comfortable quiet place to stay in that area.

The Scenic Heaven right outside of town, quaint little barn apartment with amenities to stay forever. Kitchen to cook breakfast and drink your coffee while watching the deer in the back field. Follow us on Instagram @citybarngetaway
Warm and Cozy getaway, with anything you could need to have a quiet, scenic retreat, but please take into consideration you are booking a BARN, this is not the Hilton and if you do not like the rustic feeling of a barn you may want to consider a Hotel. Full Bed and Air Matress, extra linens in storage for your use. Full Laundry room, available at request or for guest staying 5 days or longer. Privacy of no other patrons on the property. Our family does live on the farm and access the barn but not the living space. Animals allowed, if they get along with other animals and people. Please make sure any animals are on a leash when outside. Heating and Air- everyone keeps asking if there are any heating issues since its winter time. There are none you will be warm and toasty, we even have an electric heater in the bathroom if needed and a wall heater in the open space to cut on in the event you get really chilly. We have tons of parking please always park to the right hand side of the barn. Please do not park in front of the roll up door as that is our access to the barn & we need it quiet frequently. You are welcome to park there to unload but please use the parking to the side.
We are a 16.5 acres family farm located a mile off the main stretch of town. Our town is full of tons of things to do, copy the link to our local food, venues, shopping, etc. https://visitmaury.com/

  • #1. Safety. I've never felt so safe and secure at an Airbnb. The surrounding property is gated. #2. Brittany always responded within minutes and was very helpful. #3. The bed was amazingly comfortable. The decor was super cute and instead having to be in a hotel for a week, I felt very comfortable coming home from a long day at work and relaxing in what felt like home.

  • Brittany was a great host, even though we didn't get to meet personally, she was very quick to respond back when I needed questions answered. Her property was beautiful, the pictures did not do it justice. I definitely will return, and a added plus was they were pet- friendly.

The kitchen is fully furnished with stove, oven and microwave. If you like to grill, there is a new Weber grill on the deck. The living area is very cozy with a satellite TV and electric fireplace for those cool nights. The outdoor space is abundant covered and uncovered. • Stunning cabin with wonderful views and hosts

    Ross2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Wife and I stayed here for a one night get away with our 2 dogs. Loved the house (felt like a spacious railroad car that we had all to ourselves) and the view from the porch. Jan was very quick on responses to all our questions. Very nice touches in the house and everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. Took a 3 mile walk down the road (went right at end of driveway) and didn't see a single car. Sat out at the fire pit and enjoyed a crisp February night. On the way back to Nashville, stopped at the Milky Way Farm, had a chocolate fried pie in Linville and a taste of whiskey at the nearby Tenn South Distillery.

    Sean2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had an awesome overnight stay at Jan's place!!! The location can't be beat....so serene and peaceful! We loved the fireplace and my girls especially loved the bunk beds! We will definitely be back!

    Amanda2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Jan’s place has a great view and has everything you’ll need to have a great time. Super clean and private. Brought the pup and he loved it more than we did.

    Jacob2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Jan's place is even prettier than the pictures. The Alexander is a warm, inviting mix of rustic charm and country chic. Everything about our stay was perfect - gracious and quick communication, beautiful surroundings inside and out and peace and quiet. We'll be back!

    Summer2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • This is such a little gem! We stopped here for one night on our way to Florida. We drove my grandpa down for his escape from Michigan’s winter and he wanted me to make sure I left a review that said he had “the best night sleep he’s had in a long time.” Wished we could have stayed longer so we could absorb more of the view. Picturesque! Super clean and all the kitchen supplies you need for cooking dinner. Highly recommend this spot!

  • Wow. Just wow. I fell in love with this place in less than 24 hours. My wife and I needed a night away to relax before she has a medical procedure this week. This was exactly what we needed. I hadn’t seen her smile so genuinely in weeks. Thanks Brent and Amy :)

  • Had a great time

    Tyler2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • This tree house was so cute! My only regret is that my husband and I, along with our infant were only passing through during a long drive so we arrived after dark and left early in the morning and didn’t get to enjoy the beautiful river. We will definitely try to come back for a couples weekend!

    Jennifer2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Was a great getaway for my fiance's birthday! Remote enough to where you can disconnect from everything but you still have wifi in case you need to respond to that last work email. Will definitely visit again!

    Victoria2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We LOVE THIS PLACE! I can’t say it enough. This was our 3rd stay in the last year and we’ve stayed during all different seasons. Warmer weather is my favorite bc you can actually get into the creek, but cuddling up in the treehouse is perfect too! Highly recommend if you want to get away or have a romantic get away and unplug.

    Crystal2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place to stay and amazing host. The host are very quick to respond on any problems. The place is clean and has everything you would need to relax comfortably. I would highly recommend this place to stay to fish or just relax.

  • This cabin was just what we needed! Large comfy beds, clean bathroom and kitchen area on beautiful property. Cute porch swing and rocking chair outside to enjoy the quiet TN nights. Up to date heating unit kept the cabin comfortable during cold January temps.

    Corrin2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • This place is absolutely amazing. It was decorated nicely for Christmas. We saw lots of deer on the property. Really enjoyed having a fire in the evenings. The cabin combines all of the modern features you would expect but retains all of the original rustic feel as well. Just a really unique property. Had it not been raining, we would have definitely went fishing in the pond. The location is very peaceful and quiet, but just a few minutes from town. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this place to anyone!

The aged metal that was once the roof, now adorns a kitchen wall, island & cabinets throughout. Less than 1 hour from Nashville. Perfect for travel nurse & other medical professionals. Oft-visited by artists, songwriters & authors alike.
1 King BR w/en suite bathroom upstairs. 1/2 bath downstairs. Free WiFi. TV in both den & master. DVD player in bedroom. Fully-equipped kitchen. Washer/dryer. Toiletries & hair dryer. Fenced in backyard w/patio. Iron & ironing board.

  • Pleasant Valley Farm lives up to it’s name. It was such a pleasant, peaceful, relaxing place to stay. Nestled in a beautiful rural valley, you feel like you are a million miles from the hustle and bustle, yet it is only about 5 minutes away from the great town of Columbia. The accommodations were spotless and very tastefully done . Very comfortable and relaxing. We had an absolutely wonderful stay and Tracy was a perfect host. Would highly recommend this place to anyone!

    David2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Our family has fallen in love with this farm! Such a peaceful home - one just needs to experience it here.

    Paul2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great experience in the barn. It's got a very stylish, modern vibe that I loved. Everything was comfortable and very clean inside. The view outside the barn is so peaceful with a little pond right up behind it and open fields surrounding it. We even saw/heard cows our first morning there, and had a little doggy visitor at the backdoor! Overall, it was exactly the kind of peaceful getaway we needed to relax from life in the city, and I would have loved to have stayed longer. I'm hoping to book it again in the future when visiting family in TN.

A place to Unplug...Welcome to all for personal retreats & gatherings. The chalet overlooks a natural setting, with pond, gardens, meadows, forest & neighboring lake. Guests say it is restful, peaceful, healing, inspirational, & meditative. Enjoy the diversity in plants & wildlife, taste the garden mints, take home a river rock. Near Stillhouse Hollow Falls, Natchez Trace, Amish, The Farm community. Camping, camper/ RV parking OK for your group. Ask about sessions in The Relaxation Station.
The chalet at Swan Center can sleep up to 8. It is a sanctuary, hand-crafted with natural materials, where my extensive library, large sparkling kitchen, jacuzzi tub, writing desk, art and yoga spaces, and herb gardens are. I invite you to experience it and entrust it to you. Swan Center is also 11 acres of nature preserve with no wifi signal, no interference. Only peace. The chalet has a large loft, 5'8" high with floor bed(s) on the sunny side, a single bed and desk for study and writing by the window on the north side, and a cozy room on the ground floor with a new memory foam queen bed and shelves. I use non-toxic cleaning products. Outside a large covered porch overlooks the valley where wind and water have sculpted the landscape over the ages. People love the view! My new tiny house/studio for The Relaxation Station is now open for appointments. It is 100 feet from the main building. It can serve as an overflow for guests, sleeping 2. See "Uplifting Studio Retreat" in the listings for Summertown and ask me about it before booking, as I may need to change someone's appointment to accommodate your needs.
Near historic towns and cities of Mt. Pleasant, Hohenwald, Lawrenceburg and over the hill from the quaint Hampshire, Summertown was known for its healing waters, attracting visitors from as far away as Chicago. Located near Hwy 43, it's about midway between Nashville, Tennessee and Florence, Alabama. We are deep into southern hospitality country, with hundreds of local churches and many historic sites. Summertown sits on the corner of 3 counties, Lawrence, Lewis, and Maury, each with rolling hills, historic sites, waterways, rich farmland, scenic parks, and town centers with museums and antiques. We have brochures at Swan Center for more information about local sights, events, and history. Activities and stuff: *Hiking on site - 11 acres of hill and valley, (walking with mindfulness because nature will not be tamed). Boundaries are fenced and/or posted. * 'Good for you' food is available at The Farm Store, and down Hwy 20 going east and west. Also in the small local cities of Lawrenceburg, Hohenwald, Mt. Pleasant, Columbia, and Waynesboro. * Places to go - Amish farms with food and crafts, Meriwether Lewis State Park, the Buffalo River with canoeing and kayaking, the Natchez Trace Parkway (from Natchez Mississippi to Nashville Tennessee), Stillhouse Hollow Falls, David Crocket State Park, local classes, farmers and artisans, and antique and thrift stores in Lawrenceburg and Hohenwald with local treasures. *Hospitals in Lawrenceburg and Columbia, and a walk-in clinic in Summertown. You'll find amazing scenery and people who've come from far and wide. You just never know who you will meet or what you will find. We are a couple of miles out from the town center. in a rural area with homesteads, farms and a bit of suburbia. New Order Amish are 10+ miles down the road, Old Order Amish farms populate the area north of Lawrenceburg. The Farm community, an ecovillage founded in 1971 with 1,750 acres, is 2 miles away with a little museum/gift shop, a CBD shop, a food store with tie-dyes and books, and tours. Summertown is tiny, with no stop lights, with a post office, bank with ATM, hair salon, a cafe, oddities shop, vehicle repair shop, and gas stations. Neighbors and store owners are helpful and friendly. On Hwy 43 there is a grocery, used items store, Sonic, Subway, tire shop, clinic. Cell phone service is spotty in Summertown due to inadequate signal coverage, but there are spots at Swan Center where you can "get out." There is free internet at Dawn's Family Deli in Summertown.

The inside is beautifully furnished and the kitchen is nicely appointed with anything you need to cook your own country meals at home. Sit on the porch and just enjoy the magic of nature and rekindle your spirit

Very close to the Natural Bridge at the Tennessee Fitness Spa. Many other local attractions close by. There is a 2nd small efficiency cabin that can also be rented for $50/night. Dogs are allowed for an additional fee (limit 2) and even have their own dog pen! No cats. There is a 3 night minimum, or cleaning fees apply.
  • This place is beautiful, in the middle of a wooden area with a little pond in front of the cabin. Carrie is an amazing person, very professional and very nice to deal with. The cabin is beautiful inside and out, and very clean. This is our favorite place to stay when we visit TN.

  • Carries place is great! House is nicely furnished and beautifully decorated. Location is very quiet but not totally private, there is road (with very light (1 car/hour type of traffic) in front of home and neighbor across the street. But for most City/Apartment dwellers....you will find it very secluded and private. Carrie was wonderful host, very quick in response to any question. Highly recommend stay!

  • If you want to spend your vacation time in a wonderful place with amazing facilities, so clean and neat that you feel like you are in your own home, then you most call Carrie she is the best. This place was beyond ours expectations.

    Tammy2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • This property is off the beaten path and as quiet as you can get. It had everything you will need to feel completely at home. We will come back here again. Thank you.

  • Carrie was a fantastic host and was always quick to reply with any questions. The house was beautiful and clean and the beds were the most comfortable we've ever slept on!!! My daughter and husband loved to fish the pond and our dogs enjoyed the doggie door to their own fenced yard. I loved sitting on the screened porch early in the morning and late at night listening to all the surrounding nature. We look forward to staying there again in the future!

  • Hilltop Haven is a beautiful place. It was so clean and spacious and provided everything we needed to make our stay more comfortable, from nice linen to good pots and pans. The sunroom is beautiful and the scenery surrounding the home is peaceful and serene, aslo the wraparound porch is to die for. I can only imagine what staying there in the summer time would be like. My family and I booked this home for the weekend because we traveled to TN for a ceremony honoring a lost loved one, however this lovely home took away much of our sadness from that event. Linda is the best, she was so friendly and accommodating, to the point where she went out on a Saturday night and picked up our pizza because we were too afraid to brave the hilly roads at nighttime. Linda is as lovely as her home and she was a great host. Whenever I return to Pulaski, I will be staying at Hilltop Haven.

There is also a very nice, updated bath with shower and a washer/dryer, too. You’ll enjoy Beverly’s hospitality and feel like you’ve known her all your life. I could not recommend this cottage more. • This stay was WONDERFUL! Beverely was so nice and paid attention to detail, she never left a question unanswered. As far as the cottage itself, it was beautiful both outside and inside! The place was sparkling clean, the mattresses and sheets were soft. My partner and I stayed here and they commented that the place was well put together! It felt very homey and comfortable. Everything was stocked, neatly folded, and easy to find. And there was space in the drawers and cabinets for our things, as well as enough counterspace for us to cook on. It was a wonderful getaway, very peaceful and i would love to stay again!

This small, private guest house is located on The Farm in Summertown, Tennessee, and is built from a recycled shipping container. The Farm is one of the oldest intentional communities in the country, please look up The Farm in Summertown for more info before visiting. Guest home features a bedroom with a twin bed, full bath & kitchenette. These cozy accommodations comfortably sleep one, but can sleep two. The home is a short walk to the store and disc golf course.
This home is unique because of where it is located, an intentional community on 3 square miles of nature preserve and hiking trails. Hippies in school buses first came here to form a commune in the 1970’s and the land is now shared by families and friends committed to caring for it. The community features many businesses and homes, and while the residences and business are mostly privately owned, members of this community commit to cooperative living and non-violence. No firearms, hunting or fishing on the property, please. Organic vegetarian and vegan food options available at our local grocery spot, The Farm Store, just down the road.
Our neighborhood is located in one of the apple orchards, on the intentional community called The Farm. The home is a guest house outside our main residence, and is located close to the Welcome Center by the gate. It is a walk away from the disc golf course, campgrounds, and the gate pond. The Farm Store, the dome, the swimming hole, sauna, and many activities are only a bike ride, car ride, long stroll, or golf cart trip away.
  • I booked this place for my father who was without power for a few days. He had a wonderful stay and Heather was an exceptional host and quick to respond. Overall a fantastic stay in a fabulous community, The Farm.

  • What a lovely place with such lovely people. Arriving through the gate, the farm has an energy that is unforgettable and comforting to the soul. Upon arrival to the cute, quant, shipping container home, you will be welcomed by the most personable chickens out there. They will no doubt become your best friends by the end of your stay and you will learn quick who are the real guardians of these lands. Heather and Floyd are beyond welcoming and their hospitality is that of the tinder parents they are. There was never a moment that we felt anything but at peace with the surroundings. Defiantly recommend anyone to see for themselves what this beautiful community and these kind people have to offer

  • If you want to enjoy a laid back, true country experience without giving up simple comforts, this is truly a gem. We were moving from Texas to North Carolina and needed a place close to Nashville to rest before our final stretch. Holly was extremely responsive when I reached out about our animal situation and was very accommodating and sweet. The kids loved walking the property which was absolutely breathtaking. I cannot rave about this place more and although we don't plan to move cross country again anytime soon, we will definitely be out to visit Holly's place soon.

This cabin is a 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom with a full kitchen and a living room. Approximately 650 sq. feet with an incredible rocking chair and swing front porch. The “couch” is a daybed with a nice pullout trundle. The space sleeps 4 total (see pics).
We live on a 32 acre farm so if privacy is what you want, you will find it here. In addition to this cabin, we have another cabin and a farm house for rent on the same property.
  • Very nice place. Great location and very hospitable people. I would 10/10 recommend.

  • The Farm was wonderful - Cozy, comfy, a home away from home. It was a pleasure meeting and speaking with Holly, along with meeting and being greeted by Dixie, Holly’s horse. My husband and I had booked a one night stay at the farm, but after settling into Cabin #2, realizing a one day trip to the local area simply wasn’t enough time to see and do all the things we wanted to do, we decided to extend our stay for a second night. Reached out to Holly who was most accommodating. She graciously responded, approving our request. The Farm is a great place to relax when visiting the area. Would definitely recommend to others who may be planning a trip to the area.

  • This cabin was beautiful! Quiet and secluded, overlooking a beautiful lake, and you can hear the waterfall from the natural bridge. It is far away from everything, but it’s nice if you’re just trying to have some peace and quiet. It was only a 2 hour drive to Nashville, and it went by quickly.

Just about an hour south of Nashville in Summertown, the Heart of Tennessee, I’m sharing this amazing beautiful art house by a lake with other women who would like to come a do retreats from the city, and have time and space to enjoy some quiet creative time in the area. We are very near the Farm, a 50 year intentional community with thousands of acres of wild lands, waterfalls, creeks, and regular music and dance. Also near David Crockett State Park, the Amish community, and scenic places
The Heron House is a beautifully designed art house with many rooms on 3 floors that flow into each other. My roommate is an artist and both of us travel frequently so the house is available all summer for up to 4 individuals who can come and go as they please. The cost pr individual pr night is $30-40 and there are a few choices of sleeping spaces.. in the open, semi-private rooms.. Hear and watch the wild geese on the lake, the many forms of wildlife from the picture windows on every side of the house. If you like plants, come put get your hands in the dirt with the flower beds and gardens. Many places to get outside and hike, or just rest and read and catch up on sleep. Talk to me about what you are dreaming of and we’ll help you create a magical time here in a magical place.
Amish community, thefarm.org, music, Dances of Universal peace weekly, just an hour south of nashville and north of Florence, Alabama
