Escanaba Vacation Rentals

Just booked in Escanaba

The beachhouse has views of Lake Michigan with a glimpse of the Door County shoreline on the horizon. A sand beach is 100' from the beachhouse deck which you can walk for almost a mile....and natural wetlands on the property provide a great place to explore wildlife. Early risers may be greeted with beautiful sunrises, deer on the beach or eagles seeking prey. The deck is perfect for relaxing on the loungers, enjoying a coffee or cocktail....or just taking in the serene and picturesque setting.
Great lake views, walking the beach, swimming, bbq, hanging out with friends and/or family. Kayak paddleboarding, or canoeing off the beach. One queen Tempurpedic adjustable power bed and mattress, a queen foam mattress in the loft and a full/queen pullout couch provide sleeping for up to six people (Loft access is by ladder which would be best for older children or nimble adults).
Neighborhood consists of older private and commercial cottages mixed in with larger, beautiful new year-round homes located on a crest of sand beach with whitepine forest on Lake Michigan.
  • This place was beautiful and right on the beach! Inside was so cute and nice we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay with our family... we are already hoping to go back sometime soon!

  • Beautiful home and location!!!Jerry and Kim were very helpful. We received awesome hospitality from them. We would love to come to this beach house again.

  • If you love amazing sunrises and a coastal experience this is your place!

  • You will want to stay here for a week. A really peaceful, rejuvenating week. This bungalow is so special. There is coffee to be brewed, travel magazines to peruse, and big windows to watch the lake, AND a canoe to enjoy it! I hope to come back and stay again. For more than a night next time. Jerry was very communicative and gave us a great dinner restaurant recommendation.

    Abigail2017-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • We visited the beach house for our 3rd wedding anniversary and it was the best decision! This beautiful cabin was perfect for the two of us, and the view was absolutely stunning. We felt very much at home the entire time, and it was equipped with everything we needed. The hosts were very accommodating and quickly responded to any questions we had prior to our stay. Overall, the experience was incredibly relaxing, and we can't wait to visit again. Don't miss out on a visit to this beatiful beach house!

    Sarah2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay for a small family! Our boys loved the loft. Good for kids 10 and up to use without difficulty. The beach was great and so fun for making sand forts. Very clean and a great place to relax. We can not wait to come back again!!

    Amy2017-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Jerry's beach house - a large deck with comfortable furniture to chill, a barbecue for gourmet dinners, yoga mats, an outside shower with warm water - and, of course, great lake views all day long. We took the canoe to the mouth of the Ford River in the early morning and saw a small bold eagle and lots of egrets. The house is surprisingly big inside and has everything you need. - We arrived very late at night - Kim and Jerry had left the porch light on and the next morning we found bagels and cream cheese in the fridge and bananas and cherries on the counter. Thank you, Kim and Jerry, for your warm hospitality! That is the true airbnb spirit, I feel!

  • We were looking for a great get-away for one night. We couldn't have been more pleased with the experience. It's an amazing location, right on Lake Michigan. You have the convenience of being just five minutes away from Escanaba and all it offers, yet the privacy we appreciated. The cottage is well appointed and Jerry and Kim provided everything we needed to feel at home. The views across the lake are stunning, and we sat out on the deck after dinner, watching the lighthouses in the distance. With the clear night, we were covered with a canopy of stars. It couldn't have been more perfect. Thank you Jerry and Kim for such a memorable time!

Adventure U.P.2 is a quiet little cabin on a paved country road,6 miles from the closest town. You’ll love my place because of the quiet woods, fire-pit for quiet campfires where you may hear owls, coyotes, and many varieties of birds, and the coziness of a U.P. cabin. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers. Nothing fancy but functional!
  • Stay here! Do it! It is the cutest cabin and every bit as awesome as the pics. There is an amazing music collection, little post-it notes with instructions, and basically everything you would want to chill out. Thanks Monica!

    Emily2016-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed the peaceful evening, made a fire, and we're happy to have the kitchen utensils for our dinner. Thank you Monica!

    Danna2016-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • I booked this cabin for one night as part of a two-person trip to the U.P. We received great directions prior to our arrival but were glad to find the place in daylight. It added to the fun to have our own cabin in the woods. The cabin was clean, we felt very safe, and really got a kick out of the decor. I definitely recommend staying here if you are going to be in the area.

    Erin2016-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • My family( 3 adults and one 5 year old kid) stayed one night at Monica's place. It was a cosy, clean and cute cabin with lots of decoration of family hunting memory. Monica is very considerate by leaving notes in the room to make yourself at home. Basically everything is provided what you need is to pack yourself and get ready for a quite, forest feel vacation. This was our first Airbnb experience and we love it!!

    Light2016-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Like I said before. Great awesome people. They were my saving grace, hands down

    Marcella2016-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • I had a fantastic stay at Adventure U.P. 2 - it was a such a great place to kick back and unwind. The cabin itself was spotless, comfortable and Monica has thought of absolutely everything you might need for your stay. The surroundings are beautiful and deer were everywhere which was a great treat. As a single traveler with a car full I also found it a very safe place to stay and highly recommend it. Communications with Monica were great too - fantastic host.

    Karen2016-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • The host was very responsive and the place was exactly same as described in the listing. It is a safe and a peaceful place to unwind. Very beautiful location, you will hear birds and spot some deer if you are lucky. They had some games and cards, and also wood for campfire, though we did not start a campfire, we really loved the bench outside. Will definitely recommend this place. Planning to stay here during my next visit as well !!

    narmada2016-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great time! Morley and Monica were awesome! Nice and quiet location with lots of deer sightings (and cows, yes, cows! herding through the yard lol) we saw and counted at least 30 deer just on our way up to the main road around dusk. Definitely don't hesitate to stay here. Well worth the money!

  • Monica and Morley were really gracious hosts. My friend and I arrived really late at night, so we regrettably did not get a chance to meet Monica. However, she left us a little welcome note for when we arrived and a farewell note, too, which was really sweet. We did meet Morley and Lily (their dog), who are both very friendly. The property is lovely. A number of bird feeders and flowers on the back porch bring nature to you, and it's a short, enjoyable walk to Lake Michigan. I can't recommend staying with Monica and Morley enough!

    Chuck2014-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Monica and Morley met us at the door. They gave us a tour of their beautiful hand built log home. Our comfortable accommodations were in the basement as advertised it was spacious and cozy. The grounds were glorious with a short jaunt to Lake Michigan to see the sand hill cranes on their migration path south. The house is in the quiet trees with lovely lawns and seating areas. A most impressive homestead.

    Jill2014-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful and restful stay with these lovely people. It would be worth the drive to the U.P. just to stay here again.

    Dean2014-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Morley and Monica are super welcoming and friendly, we were impressed by the way they live, how they treat people friends, and they really let you feel be at home there. They are also very thoughtful. Monica prepared the trip information in our room that I asked before. When we arrived I was sick and she tried to help me to feel better. We really like the way they decorate their house too. The location is also very good for us, it is close to Wisconsin and the cabin located just near by the top of Lake Michigan, so it's only an hour of driving to the Pictured Rock National Lakeshore. We hope we can come back and have a longer trip next summer.

    Chichi2015-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay with Monica & Morley was a short breath of fresh air. My friend and I were in the U.P. to go backpacking at Pictured Rocks, and spent only one evening at Adventure U.P. This was our first time using airbnb and we were both pleasantly surprised at the experience. We had a long drive & didn’t arrive until almost dark. We were greeted right away & felt completely comfortable & welcome in their home. We did get to take a quick walk to the beach before it was completely dark, it is a lovely place. In the morning Monica prepared a wonderful breakfast and we sat on the porch and had great conversation before we set off for our hike. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to try airbnb.

    Katie2015-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing, beautiful house & property with private waterfront access & a place to have a fire on the beach. Monica & Morley were the sweetest!!! They were very personable & made us feel at home. They even made us oatmeal for breakfast. My husband & I just wish we had more time there. We are already planning to come back. The room was very comfortable. It didn't feel like we were staying with strangers. We definitely recommend to stay here for more than one night, there is so much to do and see!

    Krista2015-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • The four of us had a wonderful stay at the beautiful home of Monica and Morley. They were the most gracious and friendly hosts - we even got to join them at their campfire the first night. The accommodations were super and their home and location is amazing.

    Gordon2014-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Monica and Morley were fantastic hosts! My partner and I stayed with them while on a bicycle tour around half of Lake Michigan. After a long day of cycling, we were greeted warmly with a cold beer and great conversation. If my partner and I make it back to the U.P. again, we will absolutely stay with them. What beautiful people!

Located on a private creekfront setting 8 minutes from Escanaba we are centrally located to everywhere in the UP! Featuring a full size pool table, large flatscreen tv w/free premium channels, fireplace, outdoor fire pit, lawn games, modern bath and efficiency kitchen. Hikers/hunters/fishing/boating/snowmobiling/trail riding/birdwatching. Plenty of room for your boat or snowmobiles and trailer, Schlesinger trail is 2 blocks away. Pets welcome at this separate apartment/loft next to our home.
Although modern new construction, Roy designed the loft/apartment to have a log cabin feel. With cedar plank lined walls and a wood stove/fireplace we believe he accomplished exactly that. Featuring a full size pool table, queen size sofa bed and queen size bed, large screen television with free premium channels (HBO and music) the bathroom features a tiled walk in shower. The kitchen boasts a full size refrigerator, microwave, toaster and both Keurig and standard coffee makers. Surrounded by pines, cedars, maples and birch trees you feel as if you are in a tree house. There is an incredible amount of varied birds and wildlife to enjoy viewing. Over the years some of the wildlife we have seen here are deer, squirrels, coyotes, otters, bobcats and bear to name a few. Birds we have seen include chicadees, cardinals, goldfinches, indigo buntings, hawks, owls and bald eagles. In 2016 through incredible patience over several months Debby was eventually able to get a wild deer to eat out of her hand! The driveway used to be an old railroad grade. If you walk down the grade past the red gates you will eventually come to a cement cistern (we have also heard it was a cement weigh station but we have not been able to verify either one). These cisterns (water collection sites) were used for coal steam engines on the trains. We have enjoyed finding all sorts of old jugs, spikes, bottles, oil lamps, etc along the grade over the years. In the yard there is a fire pit (we have plenty of wood for your use!) for campfire stories and s'mores. There are lawn games such as croquet and corn-hole for your use also. Yes we are pet friendly (additional pet fee).
Portage creek runs through the ten acres we are located on; four wheeler and snowmobile trails about two blocks away; Escanaba and Lake Michigan are 8 miles to the East; The Island Resort and Casino and Sweetgrass Golf course is 10 miles to the West. Green Bay WI is about two hours to the south and Marquette is about 75 minutes to the north.
  • This place is in a great area. Short drive to anywhere in the UP. make sure you go to Rosie's diner downtown Escanaba.

    marcus2017-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Would have stayed longer! Can't wait to return!! Roy, Debby & Rocco were great Host! Scenery was the best & we loved our accommodations!

    Tj2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • It was a wonderful place to stay, and if we are in the area we will look there first.

    David2017-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks!

    Erik2017-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • What you see is what you get at Roy and Debbie's loft. Basic but comfortable accommodations, close but not too close to Escanaba, and a short (a little more than an hour) drive to Marquette or Munising, the other main warm-weather attractions in the UP. The loft has amenities more like a hotel room, rather a typical home, like some listings do. Meaning a microwave, but not a stove, for example (though they do have a full-size refrigerator, which was helpful). So if you're planning on cooking here instead of eating out for every meal, take that into account. The hosts live on the property, and were friendly but also mostly left us to ourselves, which we appreciated. It was also nice to know they were nearby if necessary (though we didn't have any issues that required their attention). Stop by Rosie's Diner in Escanaba while you're there, and sit at the counter so you can chat with her.

    Dan2017-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely get-a-way. Location is great for travel to other parts of the UP. We would recommend this B&B as it's close enough to downtown as well.

    Becky2017-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • Roy and Debby's place was great! They had a guide to the area with great recommendations and were communicative and made sure we knew they were available if we needed anything. Highly recommend!

    Eric2017-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the cabin feel in the modern loft! The host couple was also very informative and welcoming and we felt very much at home for our time there :) definitely a perfect spot for getting away but also still being close to the action of town! We will be back❤️

  • Great lakeside getaway in a comfortable cabin!

    Chaz2017-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • They were great and friendly hosts! The place was great and just steps away from the lake which was nice. Also just a short drive to other hikes, falls, and attractions on the Superior side of the UP. Like others, I had problems with wifi (my partner did not), however, that was not what I was there for so no problems here. Great place to un-plug.

    Alex2017-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place, right by the beach and the cabin was cozy and comfortable. Would love to stay again whenever I am in the area.

  • The beach looks exactly like the photo, and was the main reason we chose this location. We were not disappointed. Communication with the host was easy and frequent. We were welcomed, and Jane and John gave us a quick run-down of the area and recommended places to eat.

    Craig2016-09-08T00:00:00Z

  • This place is wonderful. Beautiful location and adorable cabins. Clean and cozy. The hostess, Jane, was very welcoming and full of local advice. I was looking for a peaceful place to relax on the beach and this was perfect. The simple check in / check out process and laid back "make yourself at home" atmosphere was splendid. I would recommend this place to anyone. We will definitely be back.

  • John and Jane's Fishery Pointe cottages were amazing! Everything you could need in one little place. We had a great view and it was so nice to make a fire on the beach at night and lie on on the loungers in the day to get some sun and hear the waves. This place was right up our alley!

    Darin2017-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great trip - plentiful amenities and great scenery in a really beautiful area. The owners met us at check-in and were very welcoming, and otherwise gave us plenty of space and privacy. Other guests in nearby cottages were friendly as well. The beach was great, lots of chairs and yard games (ladder toss, cornhole) available there. There are some earlier reviews mentioning spotty wi-fi - when we arrived we were told it had just been upgraded. We had only very minor and occasional hiccups in our wifi service while using it fairly extensively (watching Netflix on iPad, etc). 5/5, would stay again!

    Isaac2017-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • John and Jane were so sweet and accommodating. The cabin was clean and looked just like the pictures but even better in person. The view of Lake Michigan was breathtaking and the beach area was private and perfect for relaxing with your feet in the sand. John and Jane made sure we had everything we needed to complete our weekend-cabin-getaway!

    Caitlin2016-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome sand beach that stays shallow. Rustic but nice cottages that have everything you need. Quiet area. The hosts were great and very friendly. Would stay again.

  • The beach cottage is very cozy and quite. John and Jane are very nice and helpful!

  • John and Jane went above and beyond to accommodate us. We booked last minute, and were driving in from Chicago after work and so didn't reach until 12:30 am. Jane was so kind she greeted us on arrival, and even came out to the road when we were lost. They also were incredibly generous and allowed us to hangout on their beach a little over checkout time. The place is cute, cozy, clean and has a great location! The best starry night I have seen in a long time(we got to see the Milky Way) perfect stop before we went to Munising to camp. And the best hospitality I have seen in a long time.

    Nadia2016-07-03T00:00:00Z

Around the corner from Lake Michigan, this private studio with kitchenette is walking distance to downtown, Ludington Park marina, beaches, & lighthouse. Enjoy kayaking, biking, snowshoeing & x-country skiing. Short walk to museum, art center, local eateries & nightlife. It's a short drive to Lake Superior, historic parks & lakeshore parks.
Travelers are welcome to relax in the private quarters of my home. As a local artist, I have found inspiration in the neighborhood with its marina, shipping channels, lighthouse and sandy beaches. I hope you will too. Bayside B&B, situated on Little Bay de Noc in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, is centrally located for daytrips to Marquette, Kitch-iti-kipi (Michigan's largest freshwater spring), Fayette Historic State Park, Piers Gorge, and favorite canoeing rivers like the AuTrain. There is original artwork by local artists throughout the BnB. Sales are available. Note: We are in the Eastern Time zone
This quiet neighborhood is a wonderful blend of park, waterfront and downtown. At the north end of the park, the Municipal Dock provides views of Escanaba's shipping lanes. Free summer concerts at the park's band shell are presented 2 -3 x per week. Strolling the downtown will provide viewing of the lighthouse, Delta Historical Society and exhibits at the Bonifas Arts Center. A selection of family owned restaurants, coffee shops and a local craft brewery provide tasty menu selections and night life.
  • This was a great location right near the lake. The room was very clean and private and the host greeted us and made us feel very welcome and comfortable. Would stay there again but it is a beautiful area so we would stay more than one night !

  • I would highly recommend the Bayside B&B and would absolutely stay there again. Pasqua was extremely accommodating, even with my late arrival. The location is beautiful, right by the bay and several parks. The room itself was very peaceful and comfortable. Pasqua is a great host. It was an overall wonderful experience.

    Justin2015-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Pasqua was warm and welcoming, fun to talk with about music and art. She provided snacks and had breakfast ready for us in our room. The room was comfortable and had her artistic touch, with a sitting area too. Her neighborhood has a beautiful park along the lake, complete with lighthouse. I would definitely stay with Pasqua again.

  • Pasqua was the "perfect" host. She had snacks for us all set up. That was so very thoughful. She was always very easily reachable. Left out some guide books of the area. And it was super warm one night and she brought us a fan from her main house. We really appreciated that! She is the perfect host! We will be back!

    Dawn2016-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderfully located in Escanaba. Pasqua was great with communication and super flexible with check in time. She offered great local recommendations. The place was more than just a room, lots of amenities provided.

John even offered my fiancé a Michigan beer to try. He also suggested a wonderful restaurant in town that we really enjoyed. I travel a lot, and I highly recommend staying here if you're planning a visit to Michigan.

  • Sister Time- Great Time- My sister and I met here for a few days. We enjoyed a fire and walks on the beach. One afternoon we soaked up the sun and each relaxed in our own way. When not outside, we enjoyed creating art and bonding in the cozy cabin while still enjoying the view of the lake. Since the stay was officially in celebration of my birthday, my sister was kind enough to do all the cooking, so we enjoyed the fully functional kitchen. The beds were comfortable too!

  • Nice location, right on the lake. We were scheduled for unit 3, but due to the weather when we arrived in mid-May, the owner kindly moved us to unit 7, which has a wall heater and a better view. The unit is rustic, but cozy and comfortable. My place is close to the beach and family-friendly activities. You’ll love my place because of the ambiance, the outdoors space, the neighborhood, the light, and the comfy bed. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids).
  • We were there for 2 days and our stay was fascinating. We were welcomed from the minute we walked into Renee's beautiful and spacious home. Renee is a wonderful host and made us feel just like home. The room we stayed in was super comfortable and beautiful. The house is beautiful with a breathtaking farmland setting just what you need for a serene and quiet weekend getaway. In the morning, we loved walking around the place to a beautiful sunrise and it was made perfect with a delicious breakfast spread ready for us, everything fresh and organic, veggies cooked from her farm, homemade jams, and maple syrup was yum!!We were also welcomed to pack a few farm picked fruits. I wish we could have stayed longer! The place is beautiful and homey just what you would call a home away from home!!

  • We were doing a road trip around Lake Michigan. We were looking for a good stop inbetween Door County and Mackinac Island. This stop couldn't have been more perfect and relaxing. The service, food and facilities made for one of our favorite B&B experiences.

    Eric2016-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • The breakfast, the fresh garden, the sprawling grounds, and the friendly staff made this the most comfortable get away ever! This BnB is just as charming as the pictures make it out to be. Can't wait to visit again!

  • We found the Farmhouse absolutely charming and a perfectly welcoming, comfortable and relaxing place. Renee created a tastefully decorated, fully updated home with an old-time feel. We enjoyed hearing about her interesting and unusual life experiences, we felt pampered by the offerings and the freshly prepared breakfast and enjoyed exploring the farm. We felt refreshed and inspired as we continued our short vacation around Lake Michigan.

    Szonja2016-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely amazing setting, lovely and warm welcome and the most incredible breakfast and company! I recommend a stop at Renee's place to anyone and everyone. The home and room exceeded all expectations. Will most definitely return anytime I am in the area!

  • Amazing stay! The land, the people, the breakfast - all exceeded expectations! We had a night stop over and I would highly recommend it to anyone in the area. The home was amazingly decorated. Confident there is nothing like this in the area!

One bedroom cabin on the Ford River 6 miles west of Escanaba, Michigan. Queen bed in the bedroom and a full futon in the living room. Full kitchen and bathroom with shower. Stove, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, coffee, dishes and utensils included along with sheets, blankets, towels, pillows, charcoal grill, charcoal, fire pit and firewood.
Private and rustic setting on the Ford River. Birds, deer, turkeys, chipmunks and other animals visit the yard. The river can be heard from the porch and inside the cabin with windows open. The area is very relaxing and quiet.
Very quiet. Deer, birds, turkeys and other wildlife visit the yard frequently.
  • It was truly enjoyable. Very quiet except the soothing sound of the river running.

    Rich2016-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Cindy's place was the perfect spot for a weekend getaway in the UP. Everything was as described. We had a great time and would stay again in the future.

    Amy2017-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was relaxing and cozy. It was a little difficult to find because Sprint network is unavailable in the area, it was after dark when we arrived, and we are scarily dependant on our phones to find places. When we did find it, we were welcomed with clean bedding, plenty of dishes, and a sizable pile of wood for the fireplace. The cabin is quite small but perfect for a couple who are comfortable together. At night it is so quiet; all there is to be heard is the nearby river or the sound of gentle rain fall. The location is within 1/2 hour drive to a number of hiking locations and only 50 miles from Pictured Rocks on Lake Superior. The town of Escanaba is full of restaurants, grocery stores, and or course Pasties. I would recommend this place for anyone looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Cindy responded in a timely fashion and they have an adorable as well as obedient dog named Bonnie. We will definitely be returning to the intimate cabin by the river

    Erick2016-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly what a little cabin in the woods should be. Felt like we were totally secluded. A simple cabin, nothing fancy...and who wants fancy in a little cabin in the woods? The bed was super comfy and the table just right for a card game. Didn't try the tv - way more fun to watch the river wrapped in a blanket with a mug of coffee. A perfect one-night escape from the real world.

    J2016-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Cindy's cabin was perfect for our getaway up in the UP. The location is secluded but you're only a 10 minute drive from town if you need anything. Cindy gives you more than enough amenities from towels and shampoo to cooking utensils.

    Sarah2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Our host, Cindy, and her son greeted us when we arrived and made us feel very welcome! The cabin was just as described, nothing fancy, but PERFECT for a secluded getaway in the woods. It was exactly what we needed: quiet, simple, surrounded by woods, and well stocked with everything we needed. We stayed here and drove to pictured rocks national park for hiking and waterfalls. It was just what us city folks needed!

    Elizabeth2016-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • Easy to find the cabin (though I got lost taking a wrong turn!). Wonderful host and location for the cabin. Everything was clean and well arranged. Would book this again without thinking twice.

  • I was more than pleasantly surprised with this house. I had not used airbnb before so I wasn't sure what to expect. The house was beautiful inside and out. Plenty of room with a huge kitchen. The bedrooms are large and very comfortable. The location was perfect as well. My son was able to cross the street and shoot hoops during the evening and weekend. Our host was fantastic, she kept in good contact and was very open and honest about the home. We couldn't have been more satisfied. We would definitely go back to this home and town again and again.

  • Luke was incredibly easy to work with, and the house was beautiful. Close to nature hikes, right on the lake, large space. It was an overall great place to stay. Kitchen could have been slightly more equipped, but we didn't have any major issues cooking big dinners.

    Dillon2016-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This house was the perfect place to relax and unplug. It had every amenity and the view was spectacular. Luke was also a great host and very accommodating.

    Kristin2016-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, clean, quiet, and accurate to description, stayed there because hotels are too small for us. Bunks were great for our kids, master bed was very soft. Games for you to play are there. Took the canoe out for a while but then chickened out and came back, still nice to do that's included. Also they have an animal feeder there that is timed so about every 30 minutes the local wildlife come right up to the window to forage, saw several deer, quail, ducks, and other animals come up.

    Sam2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great home on the water. Pictures are totally accurate. Very comfortable, very clean. Luke was highly responsive to questions we had. Great place to stay. Highly recommend.

    Erin2016-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Overall experience: Airbnb mostly matches expectations but this was one of those when imagination can not match real experience. This place is a gem! Location: It's located right on the lake with 2 person canoe. Its couple of miles away from Gladstone so food is not an issue. One hour drive takes you to places like Pictured rocks or Munising. Two and half hour from Mackinaw. House: The house itself has everything I would expect and more. Each piece in the house seems like choice backed up with years of rich experience in travel and life. Owner: Luke provided the security code for the door which was the only reason we would have interacted with him. He promptly responded to messages on Airbnb. Best thing: The security door solves the issue of checking in or getting keys from the owner. You just get the security code and get in whenever you arrive. There is lotta wood for bonfire. • Luke was a great host! He was responsive and attentive and the home was beautifully decorated and very clean. We enjoyed the quiet neighborhood and how easy it was to explore the area as well as make day trips. Our first night included quite a thunderstorm. At some point the well was damaged, but Luke had it fixed and running before our family was up and needing water! He even offered to reimburse us for any drinking water we would have needed to buy in town, though we never needed to. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare breakfasts and dinners and the dishwasher worked well. All appliances are full sized and in good working order. Wifi is provided, but I didn't connect, so I can't comment on it. Our boys did enjoy watching movies on the available Netflix and I believe one other service. Movies and shows played without any buffering interruptions. The view from the bay window was beautiful! We enjoyed watching the deer (at least one doe and two bucks), pheasant, a pair of sandhill cranes, and the bantum chickens. The boys loved swimming in the bay, which was easily accessible from the dock. We all loved that it was shallow quite a ways out and had a sandy bottom. The bunk beds are comfortable and sturdy and the queen bed is super soft. The living room also has a full sized futon as well as a queen sleeper in the couch. There were plenty of pillows as well as towels in the bathroom. My husband had a chance to enjoy a bonfire on our last evening and they saw shooting stars. We are grateful to have had the opportunity to stay!

    Melinda2016-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Luke's place was extremely neat and clean and nicely situated. There is lots of wildlife nearby and the bay is a sight for sore eyes. No direct access to the backyard (you have to go our front and around the house) is a little bit of a bummer, but one that is easily gotten over. We spent most of our time north on the shores of Lake Superior-- an easy and beautiful hour drive away. Thanks for having us, Luke!

  • The cottage was such a cute and clean "up north" retreat for my sister and I. We were immediately greeted by the host, and she provided great recommendations for dinner/dining that night. The beach was just beautiful! I wish we could have stayed for a few more nights! I loved the location and found it totally relaxing - even with the rain!

    Jessica2016-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Our little cottage on the lake was just perfect in every way! We loved the close proximity to the water, the games and chairs waiting there for us to enjoy them. There was a fire pit, although it was a little chilly and windy at night so we didn't have a chance to take advantage of that. The cottage itself was small, but perfectly appointed. The bedrooms were a good size and we enjoyed having closet space and a dresser to store our items. The shower was great and we had everything we needed. We also appreciated quick response time from our hosts and wonderful communication with them. We loved the Ford Pub for some amazing pizza the night we got into town and the cottage itself was quite close to downtown Escanaba. I wouldn't hesitate at all to stay here again.

    Amy2016-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent communication, wonderful service. Nice homey cottages and a great beach! Too windy for a beach campfire, but all the fixings were there. • These cottages on the beach are so sweet! And John and Jane were excellent, friendly hosts. We had the third cottage from the beach, but we had a great view of the water from there. These are older cottages with a vintage feel, and we felt like we were at the lake with Mom and Dad in the sixties. Our cottage was surprisingly large, with a good-sized kitchen, two bedrooms, a large living/dining area, and a front porch with a little table and chairs. It is a short, sandy walk to the large beach. We were free to walk beyond the property further along the beach. The fire on the beach was cozy and wonderful. Stars were plentiful. John and Jane gave us good advice about places to find good food and groceries. Our only regret is that we didn't take time to tour the old downtown. I've heard it's charming, too.

  • Jane's friendliness and welcoming personality made us feel right at home immediately upon our arrival. The cottage was clean and cozy, and the proximity to the beach is unmatched. • We had a very nice stay with excellent communication and service from the host. The home was perfectly clean and ready to go when we arrived. It was larger than I assumed from the pictures, which was nice. We stayed during a colder time of year, so did not get to use the large backyard / firepit / beach. Would definately recommend.

  • Beautiful lakeside home! The interior decor was as nice as the view outdoors! The master bedroom was very spacious, the queen-size bed was very comfortable & the master bath was nicely appointed. The home was clean & tidy upon our arrival. It's just a ten min drive into the town where you can purchase groceries, dine-out, etc. Fifty yards away from the backdoor is the beach. There are a lot of shells in the sand so you will want to wear water shoes on the beach. The in-home high efficiency washer & dryer are very useful for cleaning your beach-wear & other soiled clothes. Kitchen appliances worked wonderfully but the ice dispenser on the fridge was inoperable during my stay. The $50 per night stayed cleaning fee was a bit off-putting as cleaning is only scheduled for in-between bookings & seem to be an additional fee if called upon during your stay so I don't understand the daily nature of the charge. Overall a good first AirBnB experience & I hope to book again in the future. I suggest some small improvements such as labeling the storage closets, kitchen cabinets, & interior doors so guests can quickly find what they need.

    Edilson 2016-08-28T00:00:00Z

'Little Bay Getaway' is a great place to relax and enjoy the beauty of Lake Michigan, or to serve as a hub for your adventurous getaway vacation. This adorable little cottage is ideally located across the street from Van Cleve Park and Lake Michigan
Stand-alone cottage with full kitchen and bath and separate bedroom
Gladstone is also a perfect location for exploring all that the Upper Peninsula has to offer. Within one hour drive you can enjoy... * Pictured Rocks National Lake Shore * Fayette Historic State Park * Big Springs (Kitch-iti-kipi), the largest natural spring in Michigan located in Palms Book State Park * Sugarloaf Mountain, Presque Isle Park and historic Marquette * Iron Mountain Iron Mine * Dozens of gorgeous waterfalls and walking / biking trails * The Island Resort and Casino * Eben Ice Caves * Miners Castle Rock and the Lake Superior Shoreline * Hiawatha National Forest * Numerous golf courses, lighthouses, museums, and more!
  • We stayed in the Little Bay Getaway for 2 weeks in Aug 2017. It was me, my wife and our 20 year old daughter. Overall we liked this little house. In many ways it is a rather typical holiday rental with a mish-mash of cutlery, crockery and cooking pans etc although having said that there was plenty of everything there... they just didn't match and were not always in good condition. Furniture was adequate two although again, much of it was not in the best of condition. The washing machine and tumble drier were excellent though. The TV system was a bit wierd and although TV is not generally a priority when on holiday it would have been nice to have a system that didn't require a genuis to work out how to use it. It was just too complicated and we didn't use it. Again, there are bluetooth speakers in the lounge, kitchen and bedroom but again, do you really want to try to work out how to pair up your devices etc? We didn't so again we didn't use them. Wifi was fast in the lounge but the signal was intermittent in the bedroom. The router needed rebooting when we first arrived to get it to work at all though but after that we didn't have any further issues. Location is on a nice, quiet road on the coast with a super park opposite. Loved that. There is a diner that is walkable and the town of Gladstone, with bar/restaurants and a supermarket, would be walkable in about 10-15 mins but to stay here you really need a car. Parking was outside the front or round the back and was free and easy. The back garden (back yard) had decking and you could sit out but we didn't due to the biting insects. There was a gas BBQ too. The property says it sleeps up to 4 which is technically correct but in practice it doesn't work well with more than 2. There is only one bedroom with the 3rd/4th persons sleeping on the sofa-bed in the lounge. The sofa-bed was broken so it was a bit of a struggle to get the bed down at night and again back to a sofa next day. I would not recommend this property for more than a couple. There is no privacy between the lounge and the kitchen for those sleeping in the lounge. So all in all not a bad place to stay and we enjoyed our time there. We did consider it quite pricey though. Would we stay there again? Well, if it was just the two of us and we ignored the cost then probably yes... it was a nice place to stay. But considering the price we may look to see if there was anything elsewhere first.

    Paul2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • The Little Bay Getaway was the perfect place for my friends and I to spend our spring break. The place was lovely and within walking distance of town, and our adventures in the UP were all close enough to drive to while still staying in the quiet coziness of Gladstone. • This sweet house was perfect for a long weekend getaway for our family of four. We enjoyed the fireplace and loved being right across the street from an amazing playground! Ron checked on us periodically to make sure things were going well, responded right away to questions. The house itself isn't fancy, but it is super clean (spotless!), cute and cozy. The upstairs loft really is kid-sized, so very tall adults would not be happy up there, but our kids loved it up there. We had plenty of pots and pans and kitchen supplies so we were able to cook Easter breakfast, which was great. Gladstone is very small but in a nice way, and there are all the chain restaurants and big grocery stories you could want just a few minutes away in Escanaba. We can't wait to come back in summer, but we had fun even on a chilly weekend!

  • Eagles Retreat is right opposite Lake Michigan in Gladstone. It is a nice cozy place for upto 5 guests. The upper level has sloping roof and may not be suitable for tall folks! Ron was very helpful and was reachable instantly over mobile. We were a group of 5 and had a great time at this place! Would definitely recommend this place!!

    Bhargav2016-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • The house comes with everything you could need and more-TV (Netflix/Sling), all bedding and towels, washer/dryer, kitchen amenities, and a great outdoor setting. We felt very comfortable there and the children loved their "kid area" upstairs. The house is very cozy and close to the water and park for the kids. The house has central air minus the loft area for the kids. A fan is provided but if there is humidity, you will want to bring one more. Of course this is the UP and I don't think humidity is common! The only downside did not pertain to the house at all, rather the city of Gladstone does not have much to do unless you are a fisherman. But it was a good location to take 1 hour day trips north, east, and west. Overall, I highly recommend Ron's place!

  • The Eagle's Nest was an awesome place to stay! Beautiful home that had everything you could possibly need and more. Clean, comfortable and accommodating for our large family. Plus it was extremely affordable. We will definitely stay there again!

Are Mom & Pop motels right up your alley? We are open year-round! We are truly a home-based business as we live on the premises and are very attentive to your needs. We are located within a few hours of most of the Upper Peninsula attractions. Whether you’re looking to fish, swim, golf, bike, scuba dive, snowmobile, cross-country ski, shop, sight-see, or just relax, our motel provides easy access to most of what brings people to the U.P. The prices include sales tax and Airbnb fees.
If quaint, little places are your vibe, you'll likely enjoy it here! The pace here is slower, the people friendlier, and the connection to nature is as close as the backyard. Right out back there are hiking trails that lead all the way to Lake Superior if you're inclined to go that far!
The U.P. is an exceptional area of the United States! We are surrounded by the Great Lakes, all of which can be accessed within a day trip. The one-hour trip up to Lake Superior is exceptional and the owners love to make suggestions about sites to see. Kitchitikipi (Palms Book State Park) is a site held sacred by local indigenous people and has a deep pond that stays the same temperature year-round with a cabled barge that crosses it. Fayette State Park is a preserved iron smelting town a short distance from us. Lighthouses and waterfalls make for great tours around here, also.

  • The host was great to work with. He made us feel welcome and he was available to answer any/all questions. The house is in an excellent location, just 10 minutes outside of Escanaba. The updated kitchen appliances, plus an assortment of dishes and utensils made it easy to prepare meals there. The king size beds were clean and comfortable. It was a secure, peaceful place to stay - very relaxing.

Around the corner from Lake Michigan, this private studio with kitchenette is walking distance to downtown, Ludington Park marina, sandy beaches and light house. Situated on Little Bay de Noc, centrally located for daytrips to Marquette, Kitch-iti-kipi (Michigan's largest freshwater spring), Fayette Historic State Park, Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, Piers Gorge, and favorite canoeing rivers like the AuTrain. Eastern Time zone. This quiet neighborhood is a wonderful blend of park, waterfront and downtown. The city park provides views of shipping lanes and boatyard, Sand Point Lighthouse & museum, free summer concerts 2 -3 x per week and free bikes. Kayaks and paddle board rentals are available. Downtown provides family owned restaurants, coffee shops and a local brewery for tasty menu selections and night life.
  • Pasqua's airbnb is a great place to spend a day and night on vacation. It's in a neat neighborhood on a sort of peninsula surrounded by the lake. It makes for a scenic place to stretch your legs or go for a run. The room is very homely and has everything you need and more to feel comfortable. Ask your host about her clay work, she has beautiful pieces on display in the home.

    Andrew2017-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • The neighborhood is very quiet and the proximity to park and waterfront provided a lovely place to walk. The private entrance and bath are a plus.

    Laura2017-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Pasqua and her place were great. She's very responsive and she tries her best to welcome her guest, which is difficult to accomodate for the various arrival times. The place is very close from the lake and restaurants which also was very convenient. I especially enjoyed the genuine conversation with her. Definitely would recommend Pasqua!

    Tony2017-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay with Pasqua was wonderful. Her home is right down by the lake with easy access to walk down by the shoreline and explore. The room was clean and stocked with everything we needed. The decor was tasteful and pleasant. She provided a selection of snacks, coffee and breakfast items. She made herself accessible if we needed anything and was very welcoming. We loved smelling her delicious cooking. I would highly recommend.

    Jeffrey2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Pasqua's was very enjoyable. Unfortunately we were not able to meet her since she was out of town. We found the room impeccably clean, parking on the street was very easy right in front of the house. We arrived late and enjoyed the snacks that she had left for us. I was concerned about the twin beds, but they were of high quality and very comfortable to sleep on. Would really like to come back someday when we can stay longer and enjoy this wonderful area, and of course stay at Pasqua's place!

    Philip2017-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great lower level room with a full bed, nice sized closet and great amenities - coffee, tea, private, full bathroom, table and chairs and two other chairs for relaxing. Also had a private entrance and a small kitchenette with welcome snack provided. Close to Lake Michigan and downtown Escanaba.

STONINGTON CLEARVIEW COTTAGE SLEEPS 2 comfortable (4 environmentally conscientious people is the absolute max due to water conservation) BEDROOMS: 1 + loft = 2 sleeping rooms BATHROOMS: 1- full *LAKEFRONT (Lake Michigan) *PETS ARE WELCOMED Did you used to like to camp, yet crave a comfortable bed, and prefer the luxury of indoor plumbing that you don't need to share with your neighbors? Are you environmentally conservative with your water usage? Do you love to sit by the fire, relaxing and taking in the view? Is a sandy beach a bonus for you? If so, this is the ideal cabin for you! At the point between Little Bay de Noc and Big Bay de Noc, this cabin is ideal for capturing the beauty of Lake Michigan. Watch the freighters pass by on gorgeous Lake Michigan. Have your morning coffee while you watch the eagles soar overhead, or take the view in from behind the big picture window in the cabin. Sunsets are spectacular here! Enjoy the privacy and solitude without immediate neighbors. This cozy cabin, and its tranquil location, will capture your heart as you find respite from busy schedules and everyday stress. It would be an ideal writer's retreat, or a quiet, cozy get-away for an environmentally conscientious couple. This cabin is ideally situated for active exploration. Bring your bike and enjoy miles of well-paved, quiet roads winding past bucolic farms, or bring your kayak. The clear, shallow waters of the quiet cove are perfect for kayakers. Anglers will enjoy the outstanding fishing opportunities at Big Bay and Little Bay De Noc. Enjoying hiking miles of trails within driving distance of the Stonington. We are happy to announce that the beach in front of the Stonington Clearview Cottage is wide and sandy at the moment (May 2016) . It's been an ideal beach since the ice melted. Still, the tides do change at times, and in 2014, we did not have a beach. Therefore, if the beach is a bonus, and not a necessity, you'll love it here! The pathway down to the beach has some sea grass, yet it an easy stroll, all within 50 feet of the cottage door. Water conservation at the cottage is not only nice, it is essential. The water system needs to be purged for 30 seconds each morning to clear the filter. This is easily done by pressing the button located in the master bedroom. We have a 45 gallon holding tank. Once the tank runs dry, it fills at a rate of 6 gallons/hour. The daily amount of water most people normally use in their homes in the city would be excessive here. Daily showers for a family of 4, especially if you have average teenagers or older family members, in addition to multiple dish washings and toilet flushing could result in a loss of water pressure before the week is out. Go green in this beautiful lakefront cottage! Drinking water is provided during your stay at the Stonington Cottage. A water cooler is provided at the cabin, so you will have plenty of drinking water during your stay at the Clearview Stonington Cottage. Cara's favorite point about this cottage: This unique location--- right at the tip of the Stonington Peninsula, where the Little and Big Bay De Noc meet in Lake Michigan. I love that it gives you a great vantage point to see the freighters. The fire pit is set up perfectly. Beds: Main floor: 1 Queen Bed Upstairs (open loft): 2 double/full-sized beds. **Caution-- even though we have plenty of bedroom space, the challenge for most people at this beautiful cabin is the strict water conservation that is required for your stay. Therefore, 2 is the ideal number of people at the Stonington Cottage.** Distances from: Peninsula Point Lighthouse- Very close to the cottage. Come for a visit and see where the Monarch Butterflies hang out. Picture Rocks National Lakeshore- 1 hour away Tahquamenon Falls State Park- 139 miles and 2 hours 55 minutes away. Mackinac Bridge- 148 miles and 3 hours 4 minutes away. Frequently Asked Questions: (FAQ) Beach: This is a small, natural, Lake Michigan beach. In 2016 and as of May of 2017, there has been a nice, sandy beach area. In 2015, the beach was underwater. Grill: Yes, there is a charcoal grill at the cottages. Water: Most of our guests and the owner's themselves have no problem with the water. Still, we have found that people from the city, who are used to an unlimited amount of water at all times have run the well dry during their stay, and have had to wait a few hours for it to slowly refill. This is a shallow well. We always like to fully disclose any potential hiccups.

  • Perfect escape from the city if you are looking for a quiet and remote vacation! The cabin is in a very secluded location near the end of the peninsula. We brought our dog and spent a lot of time on the private beach during the day and firepit at night. If you come at the right time of year, you can see the monarch butterfly migration at the lighthouse. The kitchen and outdoor grill were great for cooking (the closest grocery store is about 30 minutes by car, so it's best to plan ahead and bring your own groceries). Would love to visit again!

    Jamie2017-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great place for a quiet getaway! We had no trouble with the water conservation between two adults, plenty of drinking water provided. Loved that we could bring our pup with us and let her experience the water for the first time!

  • I stayed here for several weeks after I first moved to the area (a far better deal then even the cheapest hotels in town). It's a nice little house on a quiet street, close to the park and just a few minutes drive to downtown. The house has everything you need and the hosts are great! Will happily recommend this place to friends and family who come to visit the area.

  • We travel a lot and are always looking for unique places to stay and eat. Our grandson was headed to the State Baseball Little League Tournaments in Gladstone. Options for hotels was extremely limited so decided to try Air BnB. We were pleasantly surprised by the Farmhouse Bed and Breakfast. It was amazing and not your typical 'farmhouse'. It is beautifully and meticulously renovated, painted and decorated, spotlessly clean; and more resembles a boutique hotel. There are many comfortable common areas to relax, to talk, to read. Totally enjoyed a cup of coffee early in the morning, a glass of wine later in the evening sitting on the front porch overlooking the garden, row of maple trees, and fields of hay. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and everything from the eggs to the maple syrup to the vegetables and herbs to the fruit came directly from the farm. No detail in our stay was overlooked. Our hostess Shane was hospitable, helpful, friendly. She seemed to anticipate our every need without our asking. The setting in the countryside was relaxing and still in close proximity to recreational areas and surrounding towns. We are looking for an excuse to go back to the Escanaba area so we can stay at the Farmhouse again!

  • We spent a night at the Farhouse B&B on our way to the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore and I regret not having spent a few more days there. It is a gorgeous house in the middle of a farm with green meadows all around as far as the eye can see. Renee welcomed us with a delicious mint drink and berries picked fresh from the garden. She was a fabulous host and gave us tips on local places to visit. I highly recommend a stay at the Farmhouse on your next trip to the UP region!

  • Incredible!! Not a detail was left overlooked! We immediately felt right at home. We arrived later in the evening but were greeted with smiling faces and immediately felt welcomed! Our room was so clean and cozy! Breakfast was AMAZING! I have no shortage of compliments for the host, property, or experience! I highly recommend! We will be back... for longer next time! One night wasn't nearly long enough!

  • This place will NOT disappoint! My husband and I stayed the weekend while we explored Munising, MI. Renee is an incredible host and clearly puts her heart into making your stay and experience perfect. She has truly thought of everything.
