Erieville Vacation Rentals

Just booked in Erieville

A nice quiet spot on DeRuyter lake and still just a quick and easy drive to Cazenovia, Syracuse and lots of other local attractions. There are discounts for extended/weekly stays.
A camp on DeRuyter Lake. Perfect for a couple or couple with kids to get away for a week or weekend. Kayak to the nearby islands, swim or just sit on the deck and relax. Has one full bed and one set of bunk beds in an open concept upstairs. The house is two stories connected by an interior spiral staircase and exterior brick staircase. Please note that this spiral interior staircase can be a little tricky for young kids, large adults (300+lbs) and elderly people. Please refer to the photos for additional details on the stairway. The property is right on the water with access to two kayaks. The space also includes the following: - outdoor grill - full kitchen - upstairs porch with great views of the water - TV with DVD player - (no cable, there is an indoor antenna, but you'll be lucky if you get a channel to come in) The entire property is yours to use. However the neighbors are close so I kindly request that you be courteous. They are great neighbors so introduce yourself if you get a chance. No need for keys as the doors have key pads. Access Code will be provided when you book. I live close by and can deal with issues as they arise. Simply let me know if something comes up and I will fix it as soon as possible.
DeRuyter Reservoir was created as a feeder to the Erie Canal.
  • My husband and I had a great time at the cabin on DeRuyter Lake during the week of August 13- 20. We didn't spend a lot of time at the cabin because we were busy shopping at the antique show and visiting family and friends. The cabin is small, but just the right size for a couple. Would consider renting again. Clayton & Shyrel Nellenback

  • Great location, right on the water. Clean and great communication from the host.

  • It's a beautiful, beautiful spot. We felt so lucky to have found it on Air BnB. Thank you so much for sharing it with us. Enjoying 50 cent coffee with senior members of the community at the General Store each morning was precious. Exploring the shore line and the islands in kayaks was lovely. And the rope swing - so fun!! Memories of childhood. Can't wait to come back again.

  • The hosts were very welcoming John provided a detailed list of area restaurants. We grilled on the grill one night which was great and we went to Sallys for lunch which was also very good . We took the kayaks out on the beautiful lake and did a lap which was about 3 miles around the perimeter. This house is perfect for anyone looking to train on the Syracuse 70.3 course as it is located at about the halfway point of the bike. It was a quick 20 minute ride to the race start at Jamesville reservoir. John also had a nice supply of movies for us to watch at night. Our favorite part was sitting by the fire on the private lakefront yard.

    james2016-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • The camp worked well for us. We enjoyed the use of the kayaks. It was nice to use the grill outside and to have the full kitchen. Would definitely come back! Thanks John

    Corinne2016-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • The house was as-described. A perfect setting on a scenic lake. The kayaks were a great amenity. It was so easy to get in and out with the kayaks using the underwater stairs. The nights were chilly- but the heat downstairs and upstairs worked well. John also had a nice selection of DVDs and games available to guests.

  • My husband and I rented John's lake cottage for a relaxing Labor Day Weekend. We enjoyed our stay and enjoyed the cottage. It was exactly as described in the listing. Unfortunately we were able to take advantage of the kyaks during our stay because of the rain, but they appeared to be easily accessible if one wanted to use them. For anyone else staying here I would highly suggest stopping at the breweries/ cideries (between Cazenovia and DeRuyter) and the winery (slightly north of Cazenovia).

    Kerrie2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful little lake. We didn't have much time to enjoy it as we were there for a wedding and spent most of our time in Cazenovia - a beautiful little town. So wish we could've stayed for the Blessing of the Hounds on Saturday, but had to get back. My daughter and son-in-law might come back for a more relaxing weekend on the lake when the weather is warmer. Thank you!

This is a 1 bedroom Guesthouse with a Living Room, Dining Area, Kitchen & Full Bath. The bathroom has a claw foot tub with a shower head. There are 850 sq. ft. of indoor living space and large private deck with outdoor dining table and Adirondack chairs. The guesthouse was originally a workshop that was built in 1940 and was later converted to an artist's studio. It has wood floors throughout and skylights on the south side that bring beautiful natural light into the space.
The cottage is very cozy and located in a peaceful rural neighborhood.
Quiet rural neighborhood on the border of Cazenovia and Pompey. The village of Cazenovia is 6 miles away.
  • I loved the quiet and beauty of nature. The bed was sooo comfy, the kitchen well stocked. I really think Susan and Jeff have thought of just about everything for a very comfortable stay.

  • The location was quiet and centrally located. A good launch point to pretty much anywhere in the area. Susan and Jeff thought of everything. It was a very pleasant stay

    Christopher2017-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • Susan and Jeff's cottage exceeded our expectations! It is even prettier than it looks in the pictures. Beautiful antiques mixed with super comfy furniture and all of the comforts of home. Susan was a pleasure to work with and is a terrific host. Before and throughout our visit she made sure we were happy and had everything we needed. I have been to many rental houses and have never had a host provide fresh fruit and a stocked refrigerator. We feel lucky to have found this place our daughters freshman year in college. Will be happy to stay here again when we visit! Thank you Susan and Jeff for sharing your place with us!!

    Lori2016-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed here with my husband while visiting our daughter at Colgate University. The guest house was very comfortable and equipped with everything we needed. Susan and Jeff were wonderful, and their place is very comfortable. I can only recommend their place for anybody but especially parents visiting their children at Colgate University or other schools in the area.

  • This cottage is lovely. I think the hosts do a great job at making you feel welcome. They had all the amenities needed. We arrived later and they were accommodating. We really enjoyed our stay and if we are ever back in the area we would surely stay again.

  • This was our first Air BNB experience and we may be spoiled forever! 1801 Armstrong House is truly a special place. Our family of 10 felt so incredibly comfortable here that we all felt as though we were staying with our own family. The owners are generous in sharing the history of the home and their story, which makes the stay personable and warm. The house is immaculate. The downstairs is open while also providing spaces that can accommodate smaller conversations - perfect for a large group. The property is gorgeous and well maintained. And oh, that deck! Could have stayed out there forever. Nothing was overlooked and we wanted for nothing. Michael was in great communication and the perfect host. It was fun to not just get a great place to stay - but to also meet a super friendly and interesting person with knowledge about the location and area. Everyone in our family wants to go back sometime. If you are looking for a little bit of heaven in Hamilton - you will love this place! PS (my husband thinks you might not believe my review because it sounds too good...ha! well....I'm just a happy customer)

Historic, scenic, warm, inviting, cozy, convenient, spacious, internet-connected, and on and on. We will have fond memories of "1801" forever. Thank you so very much!

  • Michale was a great host. Everything you want, very communicative but let you enjoy the home all to yourself. The house is everything it appears to be in the photos. It is a beautiful spot sitting in a beautiful landscape. It's only a couple miles from Colgate University which made for quick trips in and out of town. Would highly recommend to other groups looking to get back to Hamilton.

  • We are a couple that stayed for 2 nights for a nearby wedding. The house and hosts were fantastic! The private suite was stocked with snacks, food and drinks, and has a gorgeous bathroom, several sitting areas, a big bed, and a washer/dryer. Although we arrived after midnight, our hosts were there to welcome us and show us around, and offered information about the area and things to do. This was our first Airbnb experience, and we would highly recommend this home.

    Megan2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second stay at an airbnb and it didn't disappoint. Michael's place was beautiful and had everything that you could possible want. No detail was overlooked. Great location if you want to do some antiquing as it was just down the road from Madison-Bouckville.

    Rebecca2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Michael's place. Apartment was spacious and quite comfortable. Mike and Bonnie were very friendly and welcoming. Even the two dogs were sweet and lovable. We liked it so much we've already booked another stay.

Sit on one of the many wooden park benches under ancient shade maples. Wade in Chittenango Creek upstream and downstream of Chittenango Falls. Look over the edge! Hike to top of Cazenvia Ski CLub for an al fresco picnic. Rent some of my kayaks and go paddle around Cazenovia Lake. ABOUT CAZENOVIA: Ranked Number 15 of all small towns in USA by Huffingon Post in 2015! Cazenovia is a quaint little village about 3.5 miles to the south. Founded in 1793 by John Lincklaen, who built the Lorenzo mansion at the south end of the lake, the village still teems with history. It has wonderful restaurants, old inns/pubs, gift shops, a beautiful lake, a small college, and a ski hill. Quick easy access to "Route 20 Antique Dealers", local Finger Lakes wineries, "Cazenovia Beverage Trail", and several old inns/restaurants. L.L. Bean rents summer paddle boards and kayaks at the village dock in Cazenovia’s Lakeside Park. 5 GREAT restaurants in Village of Cazenovia: Brewster Inn (dress up, make reservations), Brae Loch Inn (live music every Friday), Lincklaen House, BG Buda's Cucina Italiana, and Les Pates et les Nouilles (Thai); also La Cucina (Mexican) in Chittenango. Visit the quaint little shops and boutiques in the village of Cazenovia. For a good breakfast go to Emma’s on Main or (served all day) Dave’s Diner. Tour the Cazenovia Beverage Trail-- or the Finger Lakes Wineries (hire a limo)! Rent some of my 6 kayaks and go paddle around Cazenovia Lake. As of the 2013 census, the village had a population of 2,774. LGBT friendly. ABOUT CHITTENANGO: This small village about 4 miles to the north is the birth place of L. Frank Baum, author of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. He was born in Chittenango May 15, 1856 where his family owned a barrel factory. Visit the All Things Oz museum. Attend the annual Oz Festival and parade the first Saturday of every June-- dress as your favorite character! The museum is open year-round with limited hours and by appointment. Depending on how you plan to set up, run, and clean up after your event, this fee could be anywhere from $1,000 to $3,000. Let's discuss! PETS: If a group rents the entire property I am happy to drop by mornings and evenings to feed the pets, who are very gentle and friendly. Some people like to do that themselves-- either way is fine. They are not high maintenance, and only eat dry kibble. Watering canteens are hooked up to hoses so they never run dry. • We rented the entire property for a family reunion (17 guests, including children). We had a very enjoyable stay: the property was quiet, providing lots of space and privacy, and is directly across the street from the state park and minutes from Cazenovia - the pool was a hit for our younger guests! Paul is a responsive host, and provided clear instructions - we would not hesitate to recommend this property.

Cabin with lake access. Located 3 miles from Erieville, NY and 3 miles from West Eaton, NY, Eatonbrook Reservoir is a very clean, clear body of water. Activities include swimming, waterskiing, boating and fishing.
A covered porch so you can enjoy the beautiful view. Patio furniture included. A fire pit for roasting marshmallows is available. You will have access to a row boat, a canoe and a paddle boat. There is a charcoal grill and a microwave.
Located on a well maintained dirt road with mostly seasonal cabins. There are several attractions nearby.
  • We enjoy the views, quiet and simplicity of the cabin and look forward to returning.

  • Quiet lake accessible cabin with a hot shower and equipped kitchen. Electric stove, microwave, and basic pots & pans. The water is high in sulfur but fine for showers and cooking. Bring a jug for your coffee making. The boats are at Carol's across the lane. We planned on using them but didn't realize we would need to coordinate with Carol to get the paddles and life jackets. The lake was high in algae so swimming off the dock wasn't pleasant but the kids jumped in with floats and swam out away from it. It's a beautiful area. Great road cycling. We saw mountain bikers out and about as well but weren't there to mountain bike, so no idea where the trails are. We raced Ironman 70.3 Syracuse which was only about 35 minutes away.

  • Beautiful lake views! Loved being at Carol's cabin and would definitely come back!

    Lisa2017-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • The setting is lovely; Carol and Bob are very welcoming and friendly. The cabin is definitely on the primitive/rustic end of the spectrum and visitors should be prepared for that. We had a great time nonetheless.

  • We had a perfect stay at Carol's cabin. Everything was ready for us when we arrived. We met Carol and her husband Bob the next day. They both are very nice. The cabin is a very peaceful place. It has a large yard and a fire pit. Carol lives across the street next to the lake and we were welcomed to use the pedal boat or the row boat when we wanted. There's a nice village near by where you can do your shopping.

    Alain2017-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was located close to Morrisville State College & overlooked the Eatonbrook Reservoir. It was quiet & relaxing & the host, Carol, was a pleasure to deal with. Will definitely stay again if in the area.

  • The quaint house north of Cas was delightful from the start. We were welcomed with international hospitality, and communication was a breeze. The room was full of amazing antiques and creative amenities. Dave and Mercedes were amazing and generous hosts, telling us all about the area, and offering us tastes of better food than we could get anywhere! This place is 100% worth the few extra minutes in the car.

    Samantha2016-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • It was a real pleasure to rest at David and Mercedes place. Their home is lovely and they have interesting books to read on many topics. The room was cozy and the bed was super comfortable. I loved the Japanese style toilet! The area was tucked away into a quiet country side, yet close enough to a small town. David and Mercedes were delightful and accommodating. They are great conversationalists and have very warm personalities. We would definitely recommend a stay here. Cheers!

  • This was my first Air BnB experience and I couldn't ask for anything to have been any better. Dave and Mercedes are host and hostess extraordinaire! They live in a "little slice of heaven" -the area is absolutely breath-taking. The views from the rolling hills are just unbelievable!! Dave and Mercedes are world travelers and we had such a great time visiting with them. They not only opened their home to us, they opened their hearts as well. We stayed 3 days, and I felt like I made new friends by the time we said good-bye. You will enjoy a stay with these folks. Wonderful accommodations - highly recommend!

  • Mercedes was very friendly and gracious and accommodating. David was not there but easy to reach via text and phone. I would stay here again for sure.

  • We had a very pleasant stay and a very warm welcome at David's place. The place is located in a very tranquil area but close to some interesting nature sites. This is definitely a place for people nature lovers. So far, we only stayed a couple of nights, we've seen a deer, a fox and lots of birds, and heard coyotes howling. David and his wife Meces are very nice, welcoming people who are interested in foreigners and know what's going on in the wold. Thank you so much for letting us stay!

    Sandra2016-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • David is a great host. The house is a bit tough to find - especially at night - so make sure you pay attention to your GPS marker. But other than that, this place is a great getaway spot in the Lakes region. Quiet, calm, on a picturesque street and about 7 or 8 minutes from Cazenovia for great breakfasts and a farmer's market.

Beautiful views, excellent restaurants, as well as many family-friendly activities abound. Cazenovia Lake is around the corner. We live next to an internationally known art park, and two ski centers are just a twenty minute drive. Chittenango Falls, Highland Forest and numerous hiking trails are also a short drive away. Our home is perfect for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids). There are always plenty of activities for children and adults.
The space is on the lower level with its own entrance. It is completely private. There are two large bedrooms and each has its own bath. One bedroom has 2 double beds, the other has a double bed, trundle bed and crib, should you need them for children. The living space has an entertainment center and a fireplace for cool nights. There is a laundry/kitchenette that has a small 2 burner stove (no oven), coffee pot, microwave and small refrigerator. There is also a washing machine and dryer.
We our proud to live across from Stone Quarry Art Park. It is an internationally known art park that boasts being the second best art park in the world. We have several hiking trails close by. We live a short drive from the village to shop or eat at any of the many restaurants. If you are so inclined you can hike to the village from the art park. Cazenovia Lake has a small beach and L.L. Bean gives kayaking and paddle board lessons on Saturday's and Sunday's. There is so much to do!
  • Very nice and private accommodations with a beautiful view. Would definitely stay here again.

  • Sally was incredibly hospitable and accommodating to my last minute trip to Cazenovia. Her home is beautiful, convenient and very family friendly: )

    Alana2017-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely wonderful! We were able to utilize all of the accommodations with my daughter and two grandchildren in tow. My sister and brother also were able to spend one night as we were all there for a family reunion. Sally was always available to remediate any issues or questions we had. We LOVED the views, wild life and the friendly furry host that made us feel at home. We highly recommend this B&B for clearly taking into account everything to make you & your family's stay enjoyable!! Thanks, Sally!!

  • Once again great stay!! My parents were very pleased would definitely recommend!

    Talia2017-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • Sally was an amazing host! She contacted me ahead of time to make herself available if I had any questions. And, although she was not there herself when we stayed, she made sure someone was there in case we needed anything. The place and view were gorgeous! Breathtaking view from the backyard. The place was clean and very spacious for our family of 6 adults. And as always, Caz was lovely. The location to the town of Caz was about 5 minutes drive. Would recommend this place as a must-stay for anyone visiting Cazenovia!

    Alayna2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful find. We were in Cazanovia for a wedding and wanted a place where three generations, including seven month old twins, could spend the weekend. Not only were Sally and Bart exceedingly warm and generous, the space they provided was unexpectedly beautiful. The two bedrooms were large and comfortable, even with the addition of two cribs. The living room, warmed by a gas fireplace, had a large, unobstructed view of the most beautiful valley below. The kitchenette was equipped with all the necessary equipment to make a Sunday brunch (we supplied to ingredients). Staying at their Air BNB made our trip so many times nicer than had we stayed in a hotel.

    Ann2017-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • This property filled me with so much regret. I really really wish I had booked it for at least 3 days. It was so so beautiful. The views were gorgeous, the yard (more like a mini meadow) was clean and green. Sally's attention to detail was amazing. Each room was kid friendly - down to a little stool left behind in the bathrooms. Each bedroom has a trundle bed which can sleep 2 kids in addition to 2 adults. The kitchen was great, we made our breakfast there. Do not go by the pictures posted on the listing. The place is so much more gorgeous. Go here for at least 3 days to enjoy the place. Be prepared to scratch Sidney the Labrador for extended period of time. She is needy and so friendly. My daughter loved playing with her.

A single family home with one quiet, friendly cat, set three miles from the Colgate University campus. Nice local restaurants from the elegant to fantastic BBQ. Twenty-five miles to Syracuse or Utica. Front porch and back patio for enjoying the views and birdsong. Come visit our home and explore the antique shops in Bouckville, visit family and friends at Colgate or just to get away for bit. Everyone welcome; sorry, no pets. **Price adjustments may be made for Colgate graduation weekends.
The second bedroom, with a queen bed, is available, if there are extra guests in the party. This optional room will be an additional $100.00 per night. This additional queen room will share the private bathroom with the original renter. To be more clear, as some people have misunderstood the pricing when inquiring - 1-3 guests in the one bedroom at the $125.00 nightly rate. If you need the extra room for another guest or 2; there is an additional $100.00 charge for the room. If renting both rooms, therefore, the nightly charge is $325.00. I NEVER rent to more than one party at a time. There is one bathroom upstairs that is for registered guests only. Your party will not share a bathroom with anyone, except those you came with.
Hamilton, NY is a lovely community to live in and visit. Besides Colgate University, there are many wonderful shops, restaurants, a movie theater and a Farmer's Market (from the first weekend in May until the first weekend in November) that is not to be missed! Fruits, vegetables, baked goods, handmade pottery, handmade soaps, jewelry, etc. Too much to mention. Beautiful lakes and nature centers, too.
  • Beauiful place, clean rooms+bathroom, amazing backyard, extremely accommodating and welcoming host. Had a great time. Will come back!

  • I booked this place for my parents to attend my graduation from Colgate. It's really close to the campus and very quite and scenic. The house is super clean and cute. Tara is a fantastic host and was very good with communication and accommodation. Would recommend this house for anyone who's looking for a nice, clean and quite place to stay.

    Xintao2017-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • We rented both rooms for our Colgate visit. The space is very comfortable, clean and certainly large enough. Tara was easy to work with and very laid back. We appreciated the use of her dining area for games and the basketball hoop outside! Another wonderful feature were the 2 kinds of homemade muffins and scones she made for us along with our own private keurig coffee maker! The only thing I would say is I think the price per room is too high, however that may be par for the area. I didn't have the time to really look around when I booked my this so I don't know. Either way Great stay!

    Nicole2017-04-10T00:00:00Z

  • The place was excavate as described. Centrally located in downtown Cazenovia down the street from the college. Plenty of room and as Tommy noted, some minor work being done. Comfortable and nice area to explore.

    Raymond2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Location of the house was great, located within walking distance of downtown Cazenovia. The unit was nice although the beds were on the small side if you are tall. Pool table was a nice feature. There is a thin wall between you and the Host's unit so not the best if your group will be loud. Host was very responsive to communication, although I had trouble getting on to wifi and wasn't able to resolve that.

    Rob2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely home with so much to offer. Lots of room, amenities and the location is great. Tom is a great host and very nice. We look forward to our visit next year and planning to stay here again.

  • The guest space is located in part of the owner's historic home in Cazenovia. The home is central to all that the region has to offer. We made use of the outdoor firepit. This is a new rental and I'm sure will get even better with time but overall, it had a lot to offer.

    Dana2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is a charming place in a historic home walking distance to town. The bathrooms were recently upgraded. The living room is nice and there is a den with a pool table. Tom was very helpful and easy to reach for questions and access.

  • Paul's loft was just as described. We found it cozy and comfortable with lots of natural light. Paul greeted us when we arrived, showed us how to adjust the heat and how to set up the TV to view DVDs. He made sure he answered any questions we had before leaving us to settle in, and even checked in by text the next day to see if we needed anything. We had a great experience and would definitely go back.

    Claudette2017-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this place. The loft was big and comfortable. The bed was excellent. the location was amazingly beautiful. The loft had a full kitchen, balcony, ample work space (though we did not work). and a very short walk to a breathtaking waterfall. The wifi was very easy to access and there was Pandora on the TV. Really, it was perfect.

  • We had a delightful time here. The loft has everything you would need for a fun getaway. The river and waterfalls are very nice. The lake close at hand is really beautiful. The area is great. Paul is a terrific host - extremely responsive and helpful in every way. We would be eager to come back another time.

    Angela2016-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Paul's loft. Even though we checked in late, Paul was very accomodating and even allowed for a late check-out on our last day. The apartment had very clear instruction everywhere about using everything from the wifi to the coffee machine. Very easy access to the waterfalls. The bed was very comfortable and the location is very quiet at night. Would definitely recommend it.

  • Paul's loft was very roomy and so cozy, also super clean! You get a ton of natural light and at night, you can sit outside on the porch and watch the stars! It gets cold at night but there are blank I appreciated Paul providing us with pots/pans, dishes, utensils and more. We cooked every night. The location couldn't be any better - it is a 3min walk to the Chittenango Falls. Also, Paul's property is gorgeous and we took walks everyday. Even though the temperature dropped significantly at night, we slept with our patio door open and were able to enjoy the fall breeze. We will definitely come back!

    Sujin2016-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • We weren't looking to use Airbnb, but we simply needed a room for the night and everything else in the area was booked for the holiday weekend. Paul's place was the closest we could find to our real destination. Paul was very hospitable and the room was very comfortable. If we were to use Airbnb again, we hope all accommodations are as welcoming and as comfortable as this one was.

  • Nice, quiet spot on a scenic lake! It's a fairly new house so all fixtures and facilities are modern. It was a nice touch that accomplished chef Chris greeted us with a bowl of his freshly made corn chowder - delicious!

    William2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I use AirBnB quite a bit, and staying at The Eagle's Nest was one of our best experiences yet! The house was huge, beautiful, and Chris was a fantastic host. Upon arrival, Chris showed us both the living room and downstairs living space that we had access to, which included tvs with on-demand cable, heavenly recliners, and a life-changing infrared sauna (complete with your choice of music, featuring Frank Sinatra!). I'm a Colgate alum and this was the perfect choice for our weekend visit. Chris also mentioned that the entire house is available for rent in case we have a larger group of alums, so we'll definitely be considering that in the future. The house is right on the lake, so this would be the perfect spot in the summer! Let this be your number one choice for your next Colgate University event, get together or visit!

  • Traveling from California, John and Linda's place was perfect for our stay in the Colgate University area while we celebrated our daughter's graduation with family. It was an easy drive to Hamilton from Cazenovia. The cozy house was just as advertised sleeping the five of us. It was spacious, comfortable, and well decorated. We enjoyed our festive dinner at Empire Farm Brewery, a 25 minute walk through town, and a more elegant meal at The Brewster Inn. We spent a day at Alexandria Bay just 1.5 hrs away. What great fun and everlasting memories. Thanks John and Linda!

  • Cazenovia and John and Linda’s place exceeded our expectations. Since we were there over Christmas, and missing our Xmas tree, we were happy that there was a small tree with lights set up in the living room, and a wreath on the front door. The house itself is well-laid out and has everything one could wish for – lots of plates, glasses and cutlery, paper products, a well-equipped kitchen, a lovely laptop workstation and wi-fi, a fire place, a full bathroom, washing machine – all downstairs. Upstairs: three bedrooms, comfortable beds, well-lit bathroom, closets and hooks on walls and doors, made this 1860’s house a wonderful place to stay. Downstairs there is a sun porch and a nice yard with a barbecue (we didn’t use it). Everything seems to work – no minor annoyances like looking for light bulbs – and it is clean and tidy .The decor is simple, comfortable, suits the period of the house and is welcoming. John answered e-mail questions very promptly. The neighborhood is very safe and quiet, with similar older houses and a feeling of Upstate history. Lots of places to walk. We hope to return in the near future.

  • John and Linda's place is very charming and comfortable, and has all the conveniences of home. The location is great, close to everything Cazenovia has to offer. The backyard gardens are beautiful and a perfect spot to relax. John and Linda are very attentive hosts who truly want your stay to be the best possible. They contacted us upon our arrival, and answered our questions very quickly. Our stay was a pleasure.

  • Our group of five enjoyed a terrific two night stay at John and Linda's place. This cozy home is well-equipped with amenities, has a lovely yard, and is within easy walking distance of Caz's main street and the lake. Caz is a picture perfect CNY town and it was a pleasure to get to stay in the heart of it! Thank you so much for hosting us, John and Linda.

  • this home is beautifully decorated - very clean and so comfortable to be in with all the amenities of a dishwasher and laundry machines working well. and a great fireplace with chopped firewood ready in the garage! a dream. great communication with the hosts. they are very considerate - they even put up a little Christmas tree and lights for us - and got the baby equipment we needed specially - a crib and chair. very considerate and such nice people! it was a wonderful family vacation for us staying here and we all highly recommend !! also the location is great - caz is a fairytale town on the lake, close to Highland Forest, to Chittenango falls and the Wizard of Oz shop - endless things to do....

  • This sweet, generously appointed house was perfect for a meetup of three friends--plenty of room, quiet neighborhood near fun shops and great restaurants and everything you could possilbly need was provided. Old fashioned charm, cozily decorated and very comfortable. We will definitely stay here again! HIGHLY recommend!

  • Joh and Linda have a great place here in Cazenovia. Lots of indoor space for our group of friends to spread out. Well appointed kitchen with everything we needed to cook and eat in. Short walk to downtown Caz and Lake. The yard and outside spaces look inviting but it was too cold to enjoy them. John checked in with us right after we arrived to make sure all was well. This is a great spot for a group of friends or a family to get together. I highly recommend it.

  • Lisa left a wonderful variety of coffees, creamer, some soda and water as a welcome!! That was greatly appreciated! The Keurig and variety of coffees were great. The apartment was perfect and check-in and out was great. Love the code on the door! Bathrooms were clean and we really appreciated that! We enjoyed our stay and the location was PERFECT. I enjoyed shopping in your store. I'm sure your second floor will be a great apartment too. Thanks so much for the helpful hints on parking from your husband and glad you have the two parking spaces!

    Doreen2017-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • The host was very responsive to our requests or even checked on us via text or stopping by to be sure things were going ok. They provided some snacks, water, coffee and cream which was super nice! Their location is in the heart of downtown so everything is in walking distance.

  • This place is awesome! Great for groups, lots of beds and lots of rooms. Also amazingly central in an adorable neighborhood. And AC in every room is fantastic.

  • I rented this house for my fiance and his groomsmen the night before our wedding. Lisa was quick and responsive. The house is right along the main street in town so they were able to walk to grab a drink and a bite to eat.

  • A group of friends were in town for a wedding in beautiful Cazenovia, and this apartment was a wonderful home base for us for the weekend. The location is fantastic and there was plenty of room for each couple to have privacy while the common area was plenty spacious for us to all spend time in together. Our hosts, Lisa and Cal, were so hospitable and really made an effort to be available for anything we needed. The parking was a little tricky since we had multiple cars, but Cal was quick to offer us helpful solutions and make the situation right, which was greatly appreciated!

    Cameron2016-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa's place is great. We were staying there with extended family and the apartment gave us a place to relax and visit. The apartment is centrally located and is within walking distance to the shops and restaurants in Caznovia. If we are ever back in the area again I will definitely be giving Lisa a call.

    Jennifer2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • The place was exactly what we needed. It was good for kids. The apt is very big with the bedrooms in back. So after the kids went to bed, the adults could hang out in the living room without waking the kids. Cal and Lisa were great and extremely helpful. The one negative was the parking. We had two cars and they have one reserved space. They were very helpful in getting another spot. I am sure they could of got another spot if they needed to. I would stay again.

    Curt2016-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • We were 6 women sharing this apartment while visiting a friend in the area. Lisa's apartment was absolutely perfect for our needs! The apartment is very large! 4 large bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, full kitchen, dining room and living room. And a washer and dryer! We were very comfortable there. Lisa also provided plenty of towels, toiletries, laundry soap, coffee and even some snacks! Really, she went above and beyond with the amenities. We will be back next year!

  • Pros: Good communication, good value, nice home and nice quiet neighborhood. Nice appliances and plenty of room in home. Clean linens and towels. Cons: Be prepared to clean the house if you follow a dirty guest. The house cleaner only did the beds, towels, and linens that we could see.

    Dale2017-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Check in was very smooth and the meets expectations. The house is located in a safe, friendly neighborhood. Nice back porch area with a grill!

    Lauren2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at this house was a great experience. Louis was an awesome host. He was accessible by phone anytime that I had a question. This house was beautiful. It is very spacious downstairs and the bedrooms are a good size. The house can really accommodate about 5 people due to the furniture. There isn't really a hot tub as it may be suggested but it is a jacuzzi tub in the most amazing and spacious bathroom. The neighborhood is nice as well. Louis truly made me feel like it was my own home for the night.

    Kerri-Lynne2014-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • My two sisters and I stayed three nights at Louis's house in Clay, NY during a family reunion in the area. The location was great for us, providing easy access to Syracuse and other places nearby. The house itself is spacious, though somewhat sparsely furnished. It is located in a subdivision of similar houses which look to have been built by the same developer. Louis apparently lives elsewhere in the country, so we did not meet him, but he was very responsive by email and phone, which was important when we needed assistance with the entry lock.

    David2014-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • The host canceled this reservation 19 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.

  • What an absolutely amazing time that my new fiancee and I had here! Truly a perfect place to go. It was like everything that you would get at a resort, except better, plus more, and with a million times more privacy. The place is right across the street from one of the most beautiful sites in the world, Chittenango Falls! The HUGE studio luxory loft was beautiful, updated, extremely clean, and private! So many updates and amenities that you definitely don't find in a hotel! Not only was there a room, but we could go down to a private pool with an amazing view of the hills and trees and nature. My fiancee and I, newly engaged the night of our arrival had a perfect and unique "Proposal-Moon" at this amazing place. We were able to walk all over his grounds, have great views, pet two sweet dogs and two sweet cats.. we got to grill out on the side of our luxury loft with our own section of lawn and a table and have a great dinner outside. Where else can you do any of this? We will definitely be going back and recommending it to anyone. So much solitude, relaxation, and privacy. It is also just a few short miles away from the cute town of Cazenovia.. where there are diners, stores, shops, and a liquor store! My fiancee and I will never forget this beautiful, peaceful, and one of a kind trip. And last, but not least, Paul was the best host you could ask for. He was beyond accommodating, friendly, and attentive. He allowed us to arrive very late. We had several great conversations about the property, himself, and he had a lot of great knowledge of the area. And you can tell he takes pride in his house, his loft units, and his grounds. On our morning walk, we even ran into him walking the grounds to make sure that they were clear of anything the dogs may have left for people to walk. He was great with communication and was always making sure we had everything we needed. He has two beautiful luxury lofts to rent or even his home for a larger group gathering!

    Carter2016-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Very large, well-appointed loft with balcony and nice views. The loft is in a separate building from main house, so extra privacy. Cazenovia and its surroundings are beautiful. Paul is welcoming and trustworthy. We hope to return here!

    Noam2017-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • This luxury loft is just that—comfortable and with every amenity one could ask for. The kitchen is well outfitted if you want to cook, and there is all sorts of gear for winter activities. Chittenango Falls is in the park right across the road and an incredible sight. Paul provided us with everything we needed as well as being informative and hospitable. I could not have asked for a better stay!

    Drew2016-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our winter weekend at Paul's Loft a few miles north of Cazenovia. It was just as described and just as shown in the pictures. Very comfortable bed with great linens. If you are looking to enjoy a country weekend in a nice spot, we recommend this place.

    Chris2017-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • The Loft A apt was all that we thought it would be and more. Paul has paid attention to the little details that make this place so warm and welcoming. From the moment we arrived, Paul greeted us and showed us around the apt. helping us learn how to work everything and pointing out unique features of the property. We stayed the night so we could attend a wedding. After a night of dancing in very high heels, I was very excited and relieved to find a pretty well stocked medicine closet complete with pain relievers! Paul was such a wonderful host who went out of his way to accommodate us. He was extremely flexible with our needs and even went above and beyond what he ever needed to (he knows what I mean and I don't want to write it here so as to not volunteer him for his services in the future but needless to say, he helped us out when we were in a jam.) I can't recommend this place enough! Beautiful place, beautiful land and a beautiful person. Thank you for everything! PS: Dave's Diner was phenomenal!

  • Amazing view

    Samantha2017-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • From the beginning, communication with Paul was excellent, fast, and to the point. We arrived around 3 oclock, which is an hour earlier than check in, because Paul had the loft good to go already. Before we could get out of the car, Paul was already standing outside, ready to great us. He explained how to access the room through his garage, and asked us to check the room over, and to come back down and let him know if it was to our satisfaction, which it was and then more. Everything we had forgot for the night, Paul had thought of already. The loft was fully stocked with pretty much every am entity you could think of, and then many more that you wouldn't. The kitchen is small but well stocked with cooking instruments, utensils, and other things. The smaller details such as the multiple motion lights through the the garage to get outside, to the hospitality of Paul coming over to adjust the water heater within 20 minutes of check in, make this loft 10× better than staying at a hotel. The view from the balcony was awesome (the sliding glass door even included a list of different birds you could expect to see). The many windows and sky lights allow an amazing natural light setting. We definitely would stay again, and also would suggest it to anyone else looking to stayou 400 feet from one of, if not the most, amazing waterfall in New York.

    Russell2017-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Loft A was a great place to escape for the holiday season. It was quiet, comfortable, relaxing and extremely clean. Paul was a great host and we had solid communication, I would highly recommend this as a get away location.

  • Cazenovia is a picturesque little village. Very quaint and beautiful. We loved Latté Da Café. We stopped by there every day for a week. The lake is at the end of the main street and has picnic tables, a swimming are with lifeguards and a diving board. Everything is withing distance. We grabbed $1 slice pizza for lunch or a pastry from the cafe and walked to the lake to eat and enjoyed the view. Cazenovia is a great destination.!!

    Tina2017-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Patti was a very thoughtful host. Our space was comfortable, clean and well supplied: Books, videos, and general supplies. We had access to a wonderful deck and yard. Too much rain to take advantage of it, but tempting anyway. We were close enough to walk into town and the lake. A couple days of rain and cloud, but then a perfect Caz summer day.

The Lodge at the Lake is a haven for friends and family. Enjoy kayaking and water activities. Make s'mores by the fire or gather on the deck for drinks and dinner while enjoying the view. Just minutes from quaint Hamilton and Cazenovia, and a short distance from Syracuse, The Lodge makes a great place to stay during Parents Weekend hosted by many area colleges and universities. While your here, take a day to explore the local breweries and wine trails or check out the many area antique shops.
All though great for families with school age children, the Lodge is not child proofed for small children, nor are there gates near the very steep stairs in the house and on the deck. Please note that there is also a double sided fireplace that is not gated off. The walk to the waterfront is down the steep front lawn and across the road. Again not ideal for young children, the elderly or anyone who may have mobility issues. If you do have mobility issues and still choose to rent at the lodge, driving down to the waterfront is suggested.
Seasonal neighbors, quiet but they don't mind activity
  • We stayed at the lake house for three nights. Renee and Jim are the best host ever. They had everything ready for us. We swam in the lake, kayaked and made s'more with camp fire. It was a perfect spot for summer get away. We will definitely come back!!

There is a full bath that is only used by the upstairs. There is also another room with a hide a bed couch that can be used. There will be an extra charge for more than two people. You will be the only people in the upstairs. We are located a mile from Cazenovia Lake and the village. Cazenovia has many excellent restaurants and shops. It is 20 miles from Syracuse. There are hiking and cross country skiing trails in our back yard. We will have the coffee pot going in the morning.
  • Had a great experience staying with marilyn & her husband.. Highly recommend them for those needing accomodations in central NY!

  • Well, we love Bob and Marilyn. Our daughter is a freshman at nearby Colgate and we are from Portand, Oregon. The house is my cup of tea. Built in 1780 something which by itself it amazing. It's a lovely place to stay, comfortable bed, great bathroom, shower, etc. More importantly, Bob and Marilyn are wonderful people, interesting, interested and inspiring. So grateful that they were willing to share a little piece of their lives with us. BTW, our daughter is doing great, woohoo!!! Best, Jeff and Irene

  • Marilyn and Bob were wonderful hosts. We were totally comfortable in our upstairs room, enjoyed sharing breakfast with them on Saturday morning and chatting with them when we were around. Would definitely stay with them again if we return to Cazenovia!

  • My friends and I stayed here for a horse event at Cazenovia Equestrian Center. The location could not be better, about five minutes by car to the barn and same distance into town, but you feel like you are in the countryside. The space upstairs is immaculate and well appointed and the sheets were crisp and my bed was so comfortable. The bathroom is beautiful. Marilyn and her husband were so welcoming. Their home is beautiful and they are excellent, friendly hosts. They also have a lovely little kitty named Miss Dusty.

  • We had a wonderful stay. Marilyn and Bob couldn't have been more hospitable the room was light and airy and the view was truly spectacular we loved watching nature from the kitchen window. My husband fell in love with their cat who was the friendliest cat we have ever seen. We would definitely stay there again

  • Marilyn & Bob were lovely hosts and their home was warm & cozy with magnificent views. Bob treated us to a delicious breakfast and we loved seeing Marilyn's artwork and studio. We would definitely recommend them as very welcoming hosts!

  • Our family stayed here and used a couple of the bedrooms. What a stunning property! The grounds are gorgeous, and the rooms were nicely decorated, comfortable and very clean. Same with the bathroom. The location is perfect too, just minutes from beautiful downtown Cazenovia. We could not have made a better choice.

    Glenn2015-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • The host was totally accommodating even though we had a very late arrival. The place was homey and perfect for a relaxing visit.

    Jim2016-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had the best time here. Relaxing on the deck and haging out with mom for here 80th birthday. Such a beutiful place to stay. The charm of a 110 year old estate with a lovely town just a mile away. Thank so much to Linda an Brian for doing all they do to maintain the property.

    Rick2015-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay very much. The space was perfect for what we needed, and was acurately pictured and described. Linda was very prompt and helpful in her communications. And she really went above and beyond when we told her we were baking a wedding cake - we couldn't have done it without her help! We also had our baby with us, and it was so great to have a cot and a highchair and baby gates waiting for us when we arrived. The house and property are beautfully maintained. I'm sure you would be delighted to stay here.

    Rebecca2016-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • The carriage house at Hillcrest is a lovely and comfortable place to spend a few relaxing days. Linda went above and beyond to make sure we settled in nicely and had everything we needed, even providing a baby gate to keep our daughter away from the stairs and a number of toys to help keep her occupied. We loved the expansive grounds and the beautiful views over the lake as well as the historical character evident in every room of the apartment. We would absolutely stay again should we return to Cazenovia.

    Shannon2016-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • The Carriage House at Hillcrest is one of the most inviting places you could ever wish to stay, a historic gem, perfectly appointed, beautifully maintained, and overlooking Cazenovia Lake. It was immediately apparent that Linda and Brian give thought to everything a vacationer, traveler or tourist (there is a difference) might need. They went out of their way to make us feel at home… only wish we could have stayed longer. The Carriage House was immaculate, incredibly roomy, and because history has been so well preserved there, it was a blast to spend time in. It is one of several structures on a magnificent estate. Linda and Brian were gracious enough to give us a tour of the main house, an absolute feast for the eyes. The estate has a wonderful story. The same can be said for Linda and Brian, who were generous and engaging, the kind of people you want for neighbors. Speaking of neighbors, the neighborhood is one that will spoil you. My wife and I look for occasional getaways in quaint little towns throughout the northeast. We have quite a few favorites. Cazenovia just got added to the list of most charming. Thank you Linda and Brian! Your warmth and hospitality was remarkable, and will surely bring us back.

    André2015-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Linda is a great host who made us feel welcome right away. The carriage house is a beautiful space that was very clean and well prepared. The location and grounds are quite beautiful and the town close by is quaint. We truly enjoyed our stay.

    Jennifer2015-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • Linda and Brian are hosts extraordinaire. Their devotion to preserving and sharing this beautiful historical home and grounds, as well as graciously tending their guests, is above and beyond the expected. Gorgeous views of the lake, peaceful surroundings, a space furnished with antiques, and proximity to a lovely village makes this a destination not to be missed.

My place is close to 2 charming, historic college towns: Cazenovia and Hamilton, NY. We are right on Tuscarora Lake, Erieville, NY. Both villages have great restaurants but there's a very good and very popular one right on the lake. You’ll love my place because of the people, the ambiance, the outdoors space, the neighborhood, the light. The lake in the summer is a wonderful community of all kinds of people enjoying everything you can think of on a lake.. We accommodate everyone.
  • Rosemary was wonderful with communicating and immediately responded when I had any (URL HIDDEN) was raining and visibility was poor for driving so finding the lake was difficult.. She was so helpful! I loved the ease of the lock box! The lake veiw, even in the rain was amazing! Because of a family emergency, I was alone and away a lot. When I was able to relax on the deck in the sun..priceless! My son was disappointed by no TV, I was thrilled LOL! He didn't get to spend a lot of time there, but he to enjoyed sitting out there and swimming. I would love to come back with my sister(s) as I was amazed at the amount of room and beds! Not having A/c was never a problem, the evening cooled down so nicely and Rosemary provided large fans! This is a beautiful and peaceful area..would recommend it!

    Tracey2016-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Rosemary was wonderful in allowing us to check in early and leave late as we were there for an organizational retreat. We totally enjoyed the sunset on the end of the dock and the beautiful walk around the lake. The lake is serene and a perfect setting to relax or retreat. The cottage is quaint and quiet. If we had more time we would have loved to take the kayaks out or go for a swim.

    MaryEllen2016-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at the cabin, Rosemary was a great host, had everything we needed. Beautiful lake, very relaxing environment!

    William2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great house right on the lake. Rosemary was awesome to deal with!

    Eric2017-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • The camp is perfect, everything you need to enjoy yourself and take some time out in the peace and quiet. Plenty of space to roam, the dock and lake are just what the doctor ordered!!

    Mary2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • This was a wonderful spot. Beautiful, quiet lake. Rosemary is incredibly responsive, helpful and responsive.

    Sara2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is situated in a perfectly quiet, peaceful area and lived up to the pictures and description very well. The cabin is along a quiet road, and down at the end of a gravel driveway, so it is extremely quiet and calm there - perfect for relaxing and unwinding. The space is comfortable and has everything listed and there's ample room for many people to sleep. The dock is perfect for relaxing, and the kayaks were a blast to take out for a spin around the lake. We had a great night under the stars and saw music at The Blue Canoe, then came back and relaxed on the deck with some wine - just like in the picture! We definitely want to return to this peaceful place.

Wish we had more time to check out the property as it is beautiful!

  • For my first ever airbnb experience Paul set the bar very high. Not only was the space everything and more, he was also inviting and friendly. Such a short distance away from Syracuse, Cazenovia also has a lot to offer. You can tell Paul takes a lot of pride in ensuring you have a great experience. Thank you.

  • Paul is a very friendly, generous, and communicative host. His place was great, comfortable, and wonderfully situated right across from Chitenango Falls State Park. (Walking down to see the falls is a must, they are gorgeous.). It is also conveniently close the Village of Cazenovia. (I recommend the Empire Farmstead Brewery). I highly recommend staying at Paul's place.

  • I had a great stay. Paul is a great host and also a great conversationalist. He made me feel extremely welcome. By the way, if you happen to be a photographer and want to photograph the Chittenango Falls, this is a great place to stay. It is within close walking distance of the falls, making it easy to view the falls at different times of day and different lighting conditions.

  • Thanks so much for your hospitality! We had a great time and chose to stay at the house and relax rather than do much else. I'd highly recommend your home to anyone and couldn't be happier that we chose this location. Thanks again!!!

  • The house is beautiful, the pictures don't do it justice. It is larger than I expected. The views are great, the deck and water are perfect for hanging out with a group during the day and at night around a fire. Chris was very responsive and helpful in making sure our weekend went smoothly.

  • If you're visiting Colgate, this is the place to stay. Gorgeous house with plenty of bedrooms right on the lake. You cannot have a more beautiful scene.

  • Place was very scenic and quiet. Recommend using the hot tub that overlooks the lake! We brought bikes, board games, puzzles, etc. for the house. Nice 2.4 mile run around the lake, if that is something you are interested in. Trip to town is about 15 minutes or less and nice shops and places to eat. Great for relaxing and enjoying the outdoors.

  • We had a fantastic stay in Chris' beautiful home. He went over the top to accommodate us and it was perfect. The house os amazing with the space and finishing touches. We enjoyed the peace and solitude of the location and sitting in the hotter at night was sublime. Thanks so much Chris! Dan and Kelly

Breathtaking scenery to be enjoyed by a crystal clear lake or from inside the home. Minutes away from charming college town of Cazenovia. Wineries, entertainment even a wonderful restaurant and bar within a short walking distance. No animals permitter, sorry. Parking three car maximum.
Perfect for a romantic weekend or family getaway.
  • Great 3BR for a family get away in Beautiful Central NY. Be sure to hit the Blue Canoe. About a 10 minute walk, good for post dinner. The Key Lime Pie was as good as any I've had, and a HUGE piece. So easy to unwind just looking over the lake, listening to the nature. Highly recommended.

  • This little studio is fine for a quick stay. The bed (with adjustable head and foot) was comfortable, the room itself was a bit crowded. If you had plans to do a meal in this place it would be difficult--other than cereal and milk. But the host is responsive and hospitable, the property is spacious, it's a great location and we especially loved Paul's dogs (two huge and sweet Great Pyrenees).
