When the GPS says "You've Arrived" You'll need to continue another 1/2 mile. its easy-just keep going...
This is a fairly remote spot 1 mile down a dirt road. That being said, Its only a little over a mile to a main rt. and 15 minutes to concord for shopping etc...
  • We had such a special time at Jack's treehouse. So beautiful and peaceful, and with electricity and wifi too! I'm glad he's installing a composting toilet. The only slight inconvenience was walking to the house to use the bathroom. (But it's not far away.) Love this place!

  • Jack had the fire going by the time we arrived, which on a 25-30 degree night, was a very warm welcome! Jack opened his home and land for us to enjoy in peace and quiet. The Treehouse was something out of imagination: a quaint, secluded, space complete with a comfy bed, and woodstove that kept us nice and warm throughout the night. I recommend the Enigma CD for quiet relaxing nights (proved with sound system in the tree house). For folks looking to get away from the city and enjoy some sincerious peace and quiet, this is the place for a night or two. Bring your own food, either premade or to be cooked inside. Jack is a great host and we will definitely be returning!

  • If you're looking for something unique and tranquil this is the place. You can look up into the forest at night, right through the clear ceiling. Jack was super helpful with directions and made the drive to his wooded home super easy. Highly recommend!

  • Jack's floating home is why Airbnb exists. This cozy, comfortable, solid, and simple space feels like the treehouse escape I wanted as a child. Jack was extremely helpful with directions and getting us set up. We had no problems on the way there or during our stay. Jack is a friendly fellow and a whiz at carpentry. We felt very welcome in his little piece of the world - definitely would visit again.

    Steph2016-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Fell absolutely in love with Jack's place! It's the treehouse of your childhood dreams, complete with transparent ceilings so you awake among the trees. He's a kind and friendly host, who made our stay more pleasant. The wood burning stove kept it nice and toasty throughout a cool, fall evening. Nice little fridge for food and drinks, and even access to great music with a fun collection of CD's. The lights hanging outside and in made it a truly magical stay. We will definitely be back!

    Amanda2016-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • When we laid eyes on Jack's treehouse, it was everything we hoped for and more. The lights glimmered off the snow 30 feet below; the wood-burning stove crackled and heated the space to cozy T-shirt temps; and the mounted stereo system played sweet 80s tunes to set the mood just a right. What ensued was a delightful weekend off the grid. Local hiking trails got us beautiful views of New Hampshire, and apparently there's even some nearby skiing and rock climbing. The treehouse itself is the main attraction with its beautifully finished interior and sturdy frame that felt solid even in a gusty snow storm. We spent some meals on our own cooking on the wood stove burners and others in the neighboring log cabin where Jack allows full access to the kitchen and bathroom. Jack was a kind and helpful host, incredibly responsive and really making us feel at home. We definitely recommend spending a fun and unique time at Jack's treehouse--it's a weekend you won't forget!

  • Great quiet place. Jack was friendly and helpful. Nice place to get away.

  • My daughter and I enjoyed our short stay at the "Treetop Sanctuary". We arrived at night so were were unable to take in the full effect of the treehouse initially. As the light of the following day increased, we were thrilled to be introduced to the trees, the birds, and quiet natural scenes that met our eyes in every direction. It wasn't all quiet though. We had visitors during the night - a whippoorwill and an owl - which was really pretty cool! Many of our friends and family members are anxious to check out the Treetop Sanctuary too. As Jack noted during our visit, "Who wouldn't want to stay in a treehouse?"

  • We absolutely loved the little purple house and especially Christie and her husband! They were so kind to wait up for us, even after several delays on our flight made us arrive after 3am! We loved the quaint and comfortable room, the comfy beds, the delicious apples they left for us in the morning, and the private entrance. Christie and her husband were fabulous hosts! There is a gas station kitty-corner to the house, which makes it very convenient to find the house and to gas up your car.

    Sheila2017-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Our overnight stay was just right for what we needed. Christie's house is a spectacular place. Our bedroom was comfortable and the bathroom facilities were clean and well supplied. Coffee and muffins in the AM were delicious. Terrific hosts!

12 river front acres on the Suncook river. Great for kayaking, fishing, tubing and swimming. Very private with meadow, outdoor picnic areas and fire pits. Within walking distance to Bear Brook state park. 40 minute drive to Portsmouth, Manchester, lake Winnepasakee. one hour away from New Hampshire White Mountains and Boston.
The property has plenty of room, both wooded and cleared for camping and can accommodate many more guests via primitive camping. Special arrangements would need to be made with host in advance.
  • What can we say! Smokey Pines Camp was absolutely incredible! The pictures don't even do this place justice. The views, the river, the trails, the personal touches, the wildlife.. it was the most magical place! Crawford was gracious enough to allow us to use Smokey Pines for an intimate ceremony where we eloped in the meadow amongst this gorgeous woodland fairytale. We hope to return for anniversaries to come and for anyone who is looking for a peaceful, magical weekend away.. look no further! Our two girls joined us the next day and we enjoyed floating down the river, fishing, seeing baby ducks, turtles & turkeys! Butterflies are everywhere! This place brings peace, relaxation as well as adventure.

    Katie2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Love the cozy feel of this cabin to come back to after a long day spent exploring in nearby Bear Brook State Park, or other area hikes. Though there are other homes nearby, this cabin is tucked way back in the woods. While sitting on the deck looking over the Suncook River you truly feel like you have the world to yourself. Being pre-season it was a cool week but this location would be perfect for a paddler or those wanting to splash or tube in the river on a hot summer day!

  • An incredibly beautiful place with lots of space (indoor with awesome decor and outdoor with river, grass, barbecue places and an own forest). Perfect for a few romantic days and for lots of fun and adventures with your children.

    Stefanie2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Terrific little cabin in the woods. Lovely gardens and perfect outdoor perch above the river. Great river access with canoes and kayaks. Private and cozy. Will return.

    Ann2017-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • This house was perfect! Such a serene and cozy spot on the river. Every detail was well thought out ... The fire pit and wood burning stove had wood and kindling all ready when we got there, marshmallows and eggs in the refrigerator, towels, bug spray ... All placed beautifully. It was a beautiful cottage. A great spot to end your day. Thank you for a perfect vacation.

Welcome to Echo Hill Farm, built in 1782! The first owner was a General in the Revolutionary War (who supposedly shot the first shot at Bunker Hill) and a working farm for hundreds of years, our home is now a magical retreat featured in design magazines. You'll love exploring the property, sitting by the pond, having a meal under the gazebo, or sitting in the exposed beam living room and warming by the fire. Perfect for groups, events, and special retreats.
Welcome to Echo Hill Farm, built in 1782, which has since sat on the border of Deerfield and Epsom New Hampshire in a gorgeous farming community. As a working farm for many years, with pea, maple syrup, and livestock, today it’s a family farm who welcomes other families, groups and getaways. Come in and sit by the original fireplace under a canopy of hand-hewn beams or laugh and relax in Adirondack chairs under the stars, by the outdoor fire pit. Featured in design magazines, Echo Hill Farm is a rustic but very comfortable place for any special trip. To keep the rustic and rural experience, we don’t have TVs but don’t worry, there’s plenty of wifi. Depending on the time of year, you’ll either be picking apples by the outdoor Gazebo, or grapes by the Barn. Enjoy a hammock by the lake or rocking chairs on the deck. In the summer, Pleasant lake and it’s beach is just 5 minutes away. In the fall, the leaves are an explosion of colors and you could wake up to flocks of wild turkeys. Hiking trails are throughout the area The farm has 4 bedrooms, two queen beds, 4 twins, 2 roll-away twins, and one crib. The farm manager stays on property in a separate dwelling, you're welcome to ask him anything. The partially paved, partially dirt road on the way to the farm rarely has a car on it, and when it does you’ll never hear them. There’s plenty of close-by places for groceries or a bite out. We love to host groups, weddings, events, and special retreats. Please note that events are priced separately. Please contact us for event pricing. :) 30 min to UNH 30 min to Manchester 18 min to Concord 40 min to Portsmouth 50 min to skiing 60 min to Boston
  • I want to live there!! Me and my family had a mini getaway weekend and it was perfect, the rustic theme of the house with the view and surrounding was amazing, but with all the Amenities of a modern house, we really enjoyed the place and we would love to come back !

    Bibi2017-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great size, price, amenities, and everything else you can imagine about this house!

    Jay2017-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • The house is amazing. It's huge, very nice ambience. You feel like living in a different era! The neighborhood is super calm, extremely safe, not the place to go if you like noise and crowds. Perfect for a very relaxing vacation with friends. The hosts were great, very responsive, very cool and polite, provided us with everything we needed. The house is very nicely decorated, it is in the middle of a farm and it feels like being in a fairytale. The fireplace was perfect. I would be do happy to go back!

    Yola2016-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful house with plenty of room to host guests. Kitchen and wood stove were the best!

    Tommy2016-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • This was the first time I have booked somewhere to share with work colleagues. It was a great experience and we enjoyed the fireplace in the kitchen after we had eaten - great teamworking conversations were had! The Kitchen is superbly fitted out and as a foodie - was perfect for me. we used some of the items of food left in the cupboards (spices, salt and pepper) and left a few things behind for the next guests. We all slept well and took advantage of the cosy and relaxing atmosphere. The house can sleep lots of people, but I think that it would be perfect for 3 couples with a handful of children on Holiday. ..... or 5 work colleagues looking to share some quality time together on a work placement!!!!! I've noted the address and will be back! 2 things that I think could improve your already fantastic house - 1) a downstairs toilet and 2) an adult single bed in the 'childrens' room off the front stairs. I know that we are perhaps not your typical type of 'users' - our experience was fantastic and your caretaker is really helpful and is clearly working hard to paint your barn red! Your house is an excellent place to stay, the space and location was great after a busy day of work. I hope everything was left as per the house rules - I had to leave on the Thursday to get back to Europe (family issue) so I trust my colleagues did what they were asked!

Beautifully restored historic home surrounded by 200 acres of conservation land. Fully equipped kitchen, dining room, and multiple reception rooms. Five bedrooms, two bathrooms with claw-foot tubs and showers. Hardwood floors throughout.
This home has been fully restored and updated but retains all the character of an old country inn. It is full of sunshine, peace, and tranquillity... a perfect retreat or base for more outdoor adventures.
This is a very quiet, secluded spot. We ask our guests to respect it.
  • 100% would return to Ye Hermitage. A wonderful old house with tons of space and absolutely serenity.

    Benjamin2017-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Ye Hermitage was as pleasant and enjoyable of an experience as we could have asked for. Tony welcomed us with champagne and eggs and we could not have had a better experience. The property was gorgeous and the town perfectly quaint. We want to thank tony for a great experience to celebrate our 1st anniversary.

    David2016-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great quiet spot away from everything. Huge beautiful house, with everything you could need. Tony was very accommodating and very helpful for any needs. Recommend to anyone looking to stay in the area

  • Everything you can ask for in a home! My friends and I (total of 9) had to attend a wedding in New Hampshire that was about 35 minutes away from Ye Hermitage. The home was perfect: - Very clean - Very Spacious : 5 bedrooms in addition to multiple rooms with living areas - Large Kitchen - Great Outdoor Space: You have a large private space of land nestled inside of the woods. -Friendly Hosts: Tony welcomed my friends that arrived first right away and was super flexible on the last minute change of our guest count. Easy to get in touch with if you have any questions and responds immediately. Would recommend this place for anyone especially if you're looking for a weekend getaway in a scenic private area of New Hampshire.

    Shayan2016-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • It was great staying at Ye Hermitage with Tony! There is plenty of space in the house, and beautiful views to the forest through the many windows. The combination of old and new makes the place a different and interesting option, specially for groups. Tony provided us with a bottle of Champagne to celebrate our get to together for the weekend, and kept the wood supplies for the fireplace everyday. Thanks for the wonderful experience!

    Carlos2015-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great heritage home and great host.

    amana2017-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Tony was a wonderful host and even left us a bottle of prosecco since he knew we would arrive late after a long drive up. While we didn't get to meet him, he checked in to make sure all was well and was easily reachable. The house was originally built in the late 1700s and is very spacious. I'd recommend going with a group - while it's beautiful, it can be a bit spooky just for 2 people at night.

    Sydney2016-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Tony made us feel so welcome in his beautiful house! He was available for any questions and left the light on since we were arriving late. The house itself was cozy and charming. We loved exploring and noticing all the little details that made the home so special. Will definitely be coming back again!

Beautiful, secluded, mountain top retreat. Perfect to unwind and de-stress. Northwood is 1/2 hour from the coast where fine dining, seafront scenery, and a lively music scene is going on every night. Northwood is 1/2 hour away from Concord, the state capital with history and the capital center for the arts. The white mountains are less than 2 hours away as is lake Winnipesaukee. Land is clean, no pesticides, weed killers, or chemicals. Surfaces are sterilized using colloidal silver.
This retreat has unique beauty every season. Spring is spectacular, summer is fun with several lakes nearby for swimming and kayaking. Fall is beautiful with a beautiful view of the changing leaves. Winter is snug and warm with a roaring fire and snow covered ground. Many town fairs and festivals are always happening. Check with towns like Portsmouth to see what free concerts, bands, and events like seafood festivals are going on.
There is a horse farm behind this house and a couple of houses can be seen from this house, but are fairly far away. I'll put it to you this way. Clothing optional.

  • Christie's place was wonderful, clean, and welcoming. It was easy to get too and close to the wedding venue where we were attending a wedding at. There was plenty of parking for her guests and shoppers of her store that was in the front of the house. In the morning she had coffee and tea ready for guests and we were greeted by her sweet dogs. She also gave great suggestions on where to go for a day trip. Our only complaint was the noise from the street kept waking us up but we are used to sleeping in a quiet neighborhood with no traffic. We'll definitely be back the next time we are in the area!

  • My hosts Christie and Steve made me feel right at home. My room was larger than expected with a king size bed, nice bathroom with a large tub, and an electric fireplace that I loved ( I live in Florida, so I chill easily). Christie insisted on having coffee ready for me as a left very early each morning I highly recommend staying at The Victorian Painted Lady and visiting Christies cute Gift Shop . 5 stars Plus !!!

  • Wow! Cute house! Comfortable beds! Helpful and friendly hosts! We were looking in the general area for a place to explore all of New England, and we were not disappointed. Epsom is literally only 1-2 hours away from just about everything! The only thing that limited our itinerary was the rain for a couple days - otherwise, we could have seen even more of Vermont - but as it is we covered a tiny bit of Vermont, the coast of New Hampshire and some of Maine as well in only 4 days after flying into Boston and seeing some sights there! Great location! Come and see us in Texas, y'all! ;-)

    Lora2017-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Christie and Steve were so accommodating! The space provided was welcoming and warm; plus one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in! They also provided us with tips on which areas to avoid and which areas were a "must-see"; this was extremely helpful. We will definitely be back! Thanks again Christie and Steve

  • We were looking for a quick getaway from Boston for the weekend. This place is perfect. Christie and Steve are wonderful people and they are also animal lovers. There were two small adorable dogs and a huge kitty! The house is as purple as shown in picture. The room we stayed at is very clean, comfortable and well decorated. It was super easy to find the house - you can't really miss it. The only thing you'll miss would be not giving it a try! Oh by the way, we had freshly made muffins and coffee for breakfast made by Christie.

  • After a long stressful drive we arrived at Leavitt Family Farm. Karen and their dog Sophia greeted us with wine, soda, chesse and crackers. The farmhouse is tastefully decorated, cozy and very clean. We enjoyed sitting on the screen porch and chatting with Doug and Karen. The farm has beautiful gardens and different species of birds. Karen treated us each morning with a breakfast of farm fresh eggs, fresh fruit and homemade muffins. We will definitely visit again!!

  • We enjoyed our stay immensely and so very much appreciated the warm hospitality. Doug and Karen are incredibly gracious hosts with such a charming home. Just the perfect getaway to a beautiful property! Thank you!

  • Doug and Karen are the nicest hosts you will come across. From check-in, to the furnishings of our room, to the available amenities and breakfast, to their knowledge and enthusiasm on recommendations to explore, it could not be beat. I and my girlfriend felt as if they were family. They welcomed us with open arms and really went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything they needed. They also have a lovely dog named Sophie who was just as pleasant! Thank you for allowing us to stay at your residence and for giving us the upmost courteous and respectful stay guests could ever hope for!

  • From the time we arrived until we were on our way to Maine, Karin, Doug, and Sophie were gracious and welcoming. Having not stayed at an Airbnb previously, their home was the perfect choice to begin this vacation option. We would highly recommend arranging to enjoy a stay at this lovely home and property in a beautiful area of NH. In particular, if you're especially fond of antique homes, do not miss this one. Karen and Doug have done an incredible job of restoring this cape with attention to every detail. We shall definitely return at some time in the future!

  • On June 2nd my wife, Ingrid and I spent a delightful evening and overnight with the Doug and Karen Leavitt at their B+B in Strafford New Hampshire. Their home is a beautifully restored colonial era house. Much of the original woodwork has been preserved and authentic period items abound. Our room, and its private bath, was immaculate, and as handsomely appointed as the rest of the house. The Leavitts were remarkably gracious and immediately made us feel welcome and at ease. We were given a tour and history of the house and grounds. Our breakfast was sumptuous, especially the mixed fruit. On a scale of 1-5 our experience was a 10. Kevin & Ingrid Jones

  • This was the most Pleasant stay that we could have asked for! Sophie is amazing and the most loving dog you'll ever meet. Karen and her breakfasts cannot be beat. The blueberry muffins will have your mouthwatering long after your vacation is over. Doug's knowledge of the surrounding area and suggestions of places to go are very much appreciated. The house itself is stunning and renovated perfectly. The land is full of the most beautiful flowers and birds as well. The amenities offered are worth far more than the price paid to stay there and meeting this couple and Sophie has been absolutely amazing and an opportunity I'm glad I got. They really did make it feel like we were visiting family.

  • Doug and Karen were the perfect host and hostess. We had a wonderful stay over with them. Unfortunately we were their guests for only one night. Their home is lovely, the gardens enchanting, and the hot tub was a real pleasure after our long day of winterizing and closing up our house, and loading our truck to return to our Florida home for the winter. We will definitely be back to stay at their lovely airbnb. Thanks so much Doug and Karen for a wonderful start to our trip south.

  • Gayle is extremely attentive and gracious. The bedroom was large/spacious and the bed slept very comfortable. The bedroom in your private bath is upstairs and privacy is not an issue as you have the upstairs floor to yourself. Gayle's place was easy to find and had plenty of parking in the driveway. Gayle made us a casserole for breakfast the next morning along with toast, juice and coffee. I cannot say enough about her home and her (as well as her husband) as they exceeded our expectations! We were her first guest and I highly recommend her!

  • What an amazing place! Molly's farmhouse is out of some storybook--rambling and full of wonderful nooks and crannies. The room was beautiful and felt incredibly private, and Molly could not have been more accommodating. My one regret was that I was in the area on business and not on vacation. This would be a great place to get away from it all--one night after getting home late from supper I stood outside stargazing, something that's just not possible in a big city like Philadelphia. The crowning touch had to be the neighborhood peacock that roams the grounds.

If you were looking to enjoy the peak of foliage in October in New Hampshire this is the place for you. Sit on the dock and enjoy the loons and Parker Mountains changing leaves steps away from a comfy fire. Either a romantic getaway or The perfect place to play games with the family after a long hike. We have numerous hiking trails within a few miles. You won't find a better place in New Hampshire to relive the charm of old simple New England in this hundred-year-old house.
This space is the quintessential lake cottage. This 100 yr old is beautifully decorated and has a cozy feel. Whether you are relaxing on the couch on the dock or taking a nap in the swinging bed on the front porch there are a hundred spots to snuggle up with a beer or a book. No tv and you don't need to give kids the wifi password if you don't want.. There are so many places to have fun they won't need electronics. Dock space for your boat and a mooring. A great dirt road for walks with no traffic. You can enjoy the bald eagles and loons from your bed. Kayaks are available and for a deposit paddle boards can be included. Outside fire pit ( only in low wind) Inside fireplace Pellet stove House Not insulated!!! This is NOT a good house for people who have difficulty walking , children under 6 or children who don't swim well. The depth off end of dock is over 4.
Very very quiet lake.. Elderly neighbors who we like and want to keep it that way. No Parties Please . You will only hear loons and waves. Kid friendly but no sandy beach so might not be choice for really little kids or anyone who has trouble walking.
  • The owners were extremely responsive.

    Daniel2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Heather and Peter went above and beyond to make our stay at the lake memorable. The house was cozy and clean, right on the lake with a beautiful view. The dock and float were fun for the kids. We had access to their kayaks and took them out exploring the beautiful lake. We saw loons and eagles. They were available whenever we have questions. Thanks for a great time we would love to go back!

  • This rustic cottage is located right on the beautiful Bow Lake. We absolutely loved the location. We stayed over Columbus weekend holiday and it was gorgeous to wake up with a stunning view of the lake. The house, a centennial cottage, is beautiful with a lot of character. There are amenities such as a very pretty outdoor area with a picnic table, grill, fire pit and kayaks. Heather was a great host who was very responsive and helpful. We will definitely be back to create more memories.

  • Quaint place only a few steps from the water. Hosts are very friendly, responsive and accommodating. Very nice people - we had glass of wine with them one night on their front porch overlooking the lake. Kayaks, life vests, row boat and fishing equipment (including expert fishing tips from host) available. Plenty of restaurants and other activities around. Overall great relaxing getaway for us. Only thing to note - host is gifted bagpipe player. He plays each day around sunset and at 8:30am on Sunday mornings. So if you're wanting to sleep in, bring earplugs for Sunday morning (didn't bother us we early risers anyway)!

Sit on the deck and enjoy sunset over the pond. Go for dip, or paddle around in the canoe. Pick blueberries and just relax. This is a special place - not too far from civilization, but it feels like you're away from everything.
Laze in the hammock. Sit on the deck. Float on the water. You decide how to relax best

  • If you are looking for a place to stay in Concord, NH stop looking now! You have found the perfect home away from home in this house! We attended a wedding at the Grappone event center in Concord. This home is less than 3 miles away from the center. The home was incredibly clean, the beds comfortable and the bedrooms spacious. The home owner was very responsive to my inquiry of the property and with answering text messages while we were in Concord. She made the home inviting by leaving a fresh-baked loaf of banana bread and coffee for us to enjoy. The code to get into the home was even programmed to a number specific to me, Making it easy to remember. These little touches made the house feel like our 'home' for the three days we were there! Thank you, Blaire! If we ever return to the area we will be hoping to rent this home again.

You'll love my place because of it's ambiance and location as part of a permaculture farm-you can pick blueberries in the summer; apples and pears in the fall. My house is fifteen minutes away from the University of New Hampshire, a little further east are the seacoast beaches and the engaging town of Portsmouth for shopping, theatre and dining out. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), and faculty and students for long or short stays.
The house is uniquely constructed in the design-build manner of the 1970s and 1980s. The entrance is on the top floor into a living area; adjacent is a big bedroom with queen bed, armoire, desk and chair, and a mini-couch that converts to a small bed. There are also two single beds in the upper living area Stairs from the upper living level bring you to the first floor living room with couch, chairs, television and office area. The attached greenhouse, kitchen, master bedroom and bathroom makeup the rest of the first floor of my house. With a queen bed, a full bed and two single beds the house can sleep six adults comfortably.
My place is in a quiet, rural neighborhood. You can take country walks to Lucas Pond or to Woodsman Forest and beyond.

The space has a lot of windows facing the garden. It has a library in the top floor and a few spots to chill and enjoy life. This place is perfect for getaways and for being relax with friends and family.

    shinia2017-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place to stay with kids as there's loads of room in the gardens out the back. There's only one shower and bathroom which will be an issue if you've 5 people (3 kids) staying. Kitchen is basic. No microwave or kettle when we went looking. Really needs a grill out the back to make up for the limited gas stove (4 burner). Check the refund policy carefully as it wasn't what we expected when we needed to cancel due to an illness. Ended making it back for a small part of our stay to give the kids the space they wanted and to get some value from our cash. Not that far from the highway (10 mins). Limited stores, cafes etc around. Think woodsey residential. Safe environment that we could see. Quiet. We spent most of the time sitting out the back. Wifi is good as the kids seem to need to be on it all the time. If you stay you'd like it if you take into consideration some of the retractions. All the best. David & Deji.

  • We had the loveliest experience at Miles Smith Farm. This place is so much more then a farm with a hot tub!!! The apartment is rustic, cozy, spotless and just simply wonderful. The view of the white mountains is stunning and there is so much to do at the farm..We visited with our toddler and baby and between the toy farm house, tons of books, playing in the sand pit and slide, feeding the horses and pigs and petting Angus the rabbit they never wanted to leave again. Carol and all the staff are genuine friendly hard working people that are just a pleasure to talk to and watch doing doing there chores. We got to ride horses, make a fire for marshmallows and watch how steers got their training. We learnt so much and the beef, milk and eggs they produce are just divine. • My girlfriend, Anna, and I decided to spend a short vacation here completely last minute, contacting Carole the night before. She replied within minutes and both her and her husband, Bruce, were great hosts throughout our stay. We had a great experience at Miles Smith Farm. The hot tub and fireplace were the perfect end to a day spent walking to the nearby shaker village or hanging out with the horses (Anna even got a riding lesson!) donkeys and awesome looking Highland cattle. The farm is also a short drive from Concord, where we spent an afternoon wandering into interesting little shops and buying groceries from the co-op to cook in the fully stocked kitchen. A great getaway for those who love animals, hot tubs and friendly folk!

  • Our stay was fantastic! It met and exceeded all our expectations. To start, as soon as you arrive you are met with wonderful accomodations. The downstairs living room has a wood-burning fireplace that I'm still craving for. The house has plenty of space, was sparkling clean and totally apt for relaxation. The farm itself is beautiful. There are animals everywhere and thanks to Carole and her team, we were made aware that a calf was being born, so we got to experience this. I cannot express enough how much we enjoyed this. We also got to spend time with Angus the bunny, got to feed and pet the pig and the calfs and also spent some time with the donkeys. All fantastic! Carole and hear team do a great job. For instance, I called a few hours ahead of our arrival to ask if they had a grill. Well, they went out and bought a grill for us to use. You just don't see this level of attention anymore elsewhere. Carole also told us we could stay as long as we wanted the day of our departure, so generous of her. I highly recommend this place and am counting the days to when I can return. Thanks Carole and team for a great time!

  • We had a wonderful weekend getaway at Miles Smith Farm. It was special to have the farm essentially to ourselves, with only the farmers around. Our 4 year old loved the experience and running free around the farm. There is a great little sandbox filled with trucks next to the garden, his favorite spot and has a beautiful view. The house pigs were also a hit. Wifi worked great, sheets and towels provided, kitchen had most things you need (granted we did not cook aside from delicious eggs we purchased at the farm). Would definitely return.

    Kim2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome retreat to farm life just out of the city. Carole is awesome and the accommodations are perfect. Our kids loved all the toys and books and to be able to host Carole's super friendly bunny!

    Kate2017-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed the scenic mountain views and the farm animals, espcially the pigs. The farmhouse was really comfortable with all the amenities. Its really enjoyable to walk around the grounds and look at all the animals. The place was really peaceful and relaxing. A great getaway if you are visiting as a couple or a family.

    Manish2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay with very scenic views. Farm nimals such as Horses and cows can come right up to the back sliding door. Very entertaining and comforting place to stay.

    Chad2017-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great time on the farm. Didn't see Carole the first afternoon we were there but met her in the morning and she was happy to give us a tour of the farm. Enjoyed having the pig and bunny over for visits. Spacious apartment. Overall was happy with our stay.

Welcome to our home! We love living in downtown Concord 1/2 a block from Main Street and a stone's throw from cafes, shops and restaurants. The Farmers Market on Saturdays (in season) is only 2 blocks away as well as the State House. Plenty of live music and activities too! Right off of I-93 if you are commuting to Manchester, the Lakes Region or the mountains.
This is a 2nd floor apt. - 1 flight of stairs. The 1st bedroom has a queen sized bed and the 2nd bedroom has twin sized bunks and another twin. City noise as it is downtown.
Right in downtown Concord - walk to everything: shops, cafes, restaurants, grocery, pharmacy, historic buildings. Homemade ice cream and candies across the street by a lovely plaza! Also within walking distance of parks/playgrounds.
  • Charis's apartment is centrally located in the best part of Concord, with restaurants and shops right out the front door. Charis's place is clean and comfortable, and Charis is quite welcoming. Only complaint was that both mornings of our stay at 6 am there are a number of dumpsters outside the window that are emptied. I definitely would recommend staying here!

    Lee2017-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Although I never actually saw Charis in the flesh, I still felt as warm and as welcome as any place I've been to on Air BnB. Thr place was clean and organized. It was a VERY hot day and the AC felt like nirvana. I went for a writing retreat and got a lot of good work done. I can't reccomend her place enough. I hope to make another trip soon.

    Clifford2017-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Charis was very welcoming and helpful with information regarding Concord. Her place is comfortable and very convenient to the main street with shopping and places to eat.

    John2017-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • The host: - Charis was incredibly communicative, responsive, and helpful every step of the way. You could not ask for a better host. The apartment: - The space was just as advertised. Plenty of room for me, my wife, and my three kids (2 bedrooms, 4 beds, living room, kitchen, bathroom). - If you want to be near downtown Concord, this is the perfect spot. You are downtown, a 1/2-block off of main street, and every major attraction downtown (state house, New Hampshire Historical Society, Main Street, Saturday farmer's market, etc.) is within a 5 minute walk. There are restaurants, coffee shops, and a CVS within a 2 minute walk. The only downside - which is to be expected in a downtown apartment - is that you get some typical urban noise (people out late on the weekends, trash/city trucks, etc.). For the combination of location, convenience, and cost, it would be really hard to beat this place. We HIGHLY recommend!

    Brian2017-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Good location and very easy check in/ check out process. The space was clean and comfortable, overall a great stay!

    Katie2017-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful, clean, big apartment with everything you could possibly need. Nice location, and a friendly very accommodating host! Perfect stay.

    Benjamin2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Charis's place. It was exactly as described -- clean and comfortable, the location is terrific, and Charis was wonderful about communicating quickly. We highly recommend the ice cream place across the street!

    Cynthia2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment is a steal for the amenities and location! Saturday morning we literally walked across the street for breakfast and coffee, and enjoyed people watching during Market Day. Next we walked over to the Farmer's Market, which was one of the nicest markets we've ever been to.

Where political history marries art...3 short blocks to the downtown and in the shadow of the pillars of the community from politics to faith to education to justice (think Isabella Stewart Gardner museum meets old-school boarding house)
This home is a breathtakingly beautiful Queen Anne Victorian built in 1890. (The house and Arnie were recently featured on the international design site, apartment therapy /June 2017) It is in walking distance to downtown Concord's restaurants, bars, museums and theaters. The House has convenient free street parking and during snow conditions, off street parking is available. The 5,000 square foot home has hosted Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, Bob Dole and Al Gore. It is detailed with stained glass windows, oak floors, beautiful fireplaces, chandeliers, and it is steeped in bi-partisan political history. From the front porch you can see the Federal Court House and the golden dome of the State House. Think suite not bedroom but airbnb does not have such an option. The private bedroom is located on the first floor. It is a large elegant room that in its previous life was the majestic formal living room separated with oak pocket doors. It has a double bed, desk, night stands, large closet, comfortable chairs, a jotul gas stove set into the magnificent fireplace and a small refrigerator fully equipped with breakfast provisions. The room has a TV with a full premium cable package and the entire house is wi-fi connected. The first floor boasts a private elegant modern bathroom with a jacuzzi tub and shower a few steps from the bedroom...the enormous kitchen with views of the garden is equipped with counter eating, kitchen table and chairs and the most comfortable over size rocker on the planet ( the kitchen is nearly exclusive to all guests as host has her own kitchen on separate floor). In the late spring and summer, the gardens in the back and the wrap around porch are fabulous for wine and cheese or breakfast coffee. The carriage house has just been converted into a charming entertainment space, available for a fee for small gatherings of 20-30 during the late spring thru early fall (or for overnight guests, it is available as an enclosed space just off the gardens for a light repast). Please Note: If you are traveling with a third person, a first floor room, the library-study, is equipped with a murphy bed (my daughters claim it is the most comfortable sleeping bed in the house), may be available. I can arrange for the third person to use the study at a cost of $60/night. The room has a small dresser, desk, comfortable chair, piano and hat rack. Just to add to the interest in the space...a recent article posted at Only in your state, noted interesting airbnb rentals in NH...the Majority Leader's House made the cut. • Arnie's place was so far above our expectations, it's honestly hard to describe; it's definitely the best place we've ever stayed. Arnie was extremely fun to talk to, and she had many fun stories about the history of the house - the house and the tour she gave us were far more interesting than some museums that I've been to. We had the whole first floor pretty much to ourselves - our only regret was not being able to stay longer!

    Alex2015-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • Our host made us feel extremely welcome and showed us all over the three floors of her beautiful house which was very accurately described in her write up. It is situated in a lovely area of town within easy walking distance of the town centre. Our bedroom was very comfortable and the bathroom actually luxurious. We were given a beautiful breakfast and allowed to use the lovely kitchen to prepare our dinner. Our host was very friendly and very entertaining.

  • I was in town for a work conference and had a great two-night stay at Arnie's beautiful home. She was welcoming, friendly, and so gracious. She made my stay very comfortable, stocked the fridge and kitchen with goodies, and even brought me down a pot of hot coffee each morning! If I'm back in Concord, I'll definitely be staying here again.

    Laura2014-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • The pictures and discretions were precisely what we were anticipating from this place, clean, charming bedroom/house situated in the heart of Concord NH. The host, Arnie, was very nice to let us to settle in even though we where 45 minutes ahead of our expected arrival time. We also love the host's suggestions regarding eateries around the area. I highly recommend this place to airbnb members.

    Alex 2014-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • This was without question my most positive AirBnB experience to date. Arnie was an extremely accommodating host, and the home is beautiful with a rich history that she was happy to share! I have nothing but good things to say.

    Erik2015-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • A stay at Arnie's is more than a clean, comfortable place to sleep. It's an incredible experience beginning with Arnie herself who's warm greeting included showing us around her amazing home.It was fun speaking with Arnie, sharing life experiences. We would definitely recommend a stay here and book again when we are back in the area.

    Jay2015-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Arnie's is the most gracious, most spacious and comfortable Airbnb experience we've ever had. Being in this restored Victorian home was an aesthetic experience as well, as it is decorated with Arnie's eclectic and joyful spirit. In a lovely safe neighborhood, an easy walk to downtown Concord. Our arrival and departure were easy, meeting Arnie a true pleasure.

  • I could not be happier about my experience at Adam's place. I stayed there for about a month while on a rotation for school. The house was nice and quiet, which was perfect for my intensive study schedule. Anything I could possibly need was readily available (fridge, stovetop, washer/dryer, shower, large shelving unit in my bedroom closet which provided more than enough storage space, large bedroom mirror, really... anything you need is there). I really loved the city of Concord - plenty to see and do. I also felt extremely safe in town. I even was able to take evening jogs without feeling uncomfortable or unsafe. Adam is such a nice man and is always reachable with any questions you may have. He was fantastic about keeping me updated about other people from Airbnb staying at his house in regards to when I could expect them to be coming and leaving, so I never felt out of the loop. The house is in a wonderful location. I was able to settle myself in really well for the month with grocery shopping a walkable distance, a Planet Fitness only five minutes away with a very reasonable month fee, a coffee shop I loved (True Brew) which was a walkable distance and was perfect for getting work done, and plenty of cute shops by the capitol. I would absolutely stay there again if I ever found myself needing a place to stay in the area again in the future. An added bonus is that the house has an extremely creative design with bright colors adorning the walls and very funky/unique touches with a beautiful screened in porch, which added to the whole Airbnb experience. Thank you so much, Adam! I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and getting to know you and Gunner.

    Rebecca2016-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • Adam was great. This was my first Air BnB experience and I couldn't have asked for more. Adam was very prompt with accepting my last minute request. His house is very clean and nicely appointed. Located in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance of Downtown. Off-Street parking was a huge plus and Gunnar was the perfect co-host.

    Covell2016-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • To me this house felt like home from home. I had pretty much the whole place to myself and had parking, laundry, and essentially all mod cons. I didn't get to meet the host, but he was available whenever I messaged him and helpful when I did. This was my first AirBnb experience and I am impressed!

    Tim2016-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Super convenient and super easy.

  • Adam and I connected the day before check-in via text message, which made things easy and was reassuring. The room was perfect for a busy, short business trip into NH. The location couldn't be better not just for downtown Concord, but was less than 2 minutes from the major north/south highway. Fast and reliable wi-fi, not noisy at all. Adam, thanks!

    Downtown private room!
    13 reviews
Stay in a completely renovated, private cottage located in quaint East Concord Village, only 5 minutes to Downtown Concord. All new kitchen, bath, and furnishings, private patio, off street parking, and a peaceful garden setting. The cottage features an eat-in kitchen, cozy living room, full bath, and large, light-filled bedroom. Perfect for 1-2 people, but with a twin sofa bed for a third. Help yourself to fresh eggs right from the chicken coop, and fresh fruit and berries from the garden.
We have fully restored this historic 19th century guest house. Originally located on the grounds of a nearby tavern, and later serving as the village dentist's office, this charming cottage was moved in the 1950s to its current location. We embarked on an extensive renovation, recently completed, that focused on providing modern, updated amenities without sacrificing the cottage's historic charm. This ideal location (just a minute's drive from I-93) allows you to enjoy a private, country setting with the convenience of being only minutes away from the shopping and restaurants of historic downtown Concord, centrally located in NH. Skiing, beaches, and the Lakes Region are all within a 30-minute drive. The Seacoast and spectacular White Mountains are an hour away. We can also suggest a number of local hiking, biking, canoe/kayak, snowshoeing, and nordic skiing options.
  • Margaret and Carmine are excellent hosts the cottage is first class!

  • My bf and I only stayed for one night and enjoyed the cottage. My bf appreciated the remodeling as you can tell the hard work the family put into it!We came on a chilly night and the fireplace definitely warmed up the cottage quickly. I would recommend staying here!

    Gaby2017-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a great, cozy, garden oasis located just outside of Concord. The hostess, Margaret, is very nice and informative about the area. Great amenities and location made this just the right place to retire after a long day of exploring New Hampshire. Sitting back, relaxing in the garden with friends and beverages made this a very memorable trip for us.

    Tim2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Margaret and family were very welcoming and helpful. The cottage was spotless and had everything one could need. On top of it all is a great location in a quiet corner of Concord with easy access to to the city and the state as a whole. We took day trips to the coast, the lake region and the mountains. Can't recommend it enough.

    Edward2017-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little cottage. More charming than pictures suggest. Beautiful wood floors and counters. Would definitely recommend to anyone staying in the area!

    Lizzy2017-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • Literally the best Airbnb you will ever stay in. First off, Margaret and Carmine are the nicest people ever and are in the house right behind if you need anything, but you won't because they have already provided it for you. The best part for me personally was how adorable and clean the cottage itself was and how lovely the whole guest area was. There is a garden with fruit trees and vegetable which you will be encouraged to eat/cook. They have chickens and outdoor cats who roam the property, it was all just so wonderful. I would and will be staying here again! Do not miss out on visiting here!

    Jamie2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Margaret and Carmine's cottage was magnificent. My girlfriend and I were wowed when we first stepped inside. The photos does not show how special and wonderful this little gem is. We loved everything about it and We're very grateful for staying the night. The cottage is beautiful and the intricate details of the kitchen to the bedroom really shows it's personality. We really didn't want to leave! They have a beautiful garden as well as chickens. There was even fresh eggs available in the fridge for us. The hosts are extremely wonderful! They are communicative and provided us with information about the cottage and about the extra amenities they provide. They were flexible and advised us that we could help ourselves to their garden. They gave us privacy throughout the trip and offered a binder full of informative activities in the area as well as restaurants. They even provided us bathroom supplies that just smelled fantastic as well as kitchen supplies. We were a big fan of the little living room area as we did some light reading from the books they had available, like memoirs and even Harry Potter! This cottage really gave us a chance to disconnect from our busy lives and the digital world. They also had a smart tv in the bedroom where we could connect to Netflix, Hulu, HBO Now, or even Amazon Prime. It was a nice benefit and we did happen to watch a couple of movies, but being here made us feel stress free. We definitely plan to stay at this lovely cottage again when we have the chance.

    Rob2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • My husband & I absolutely adored our stay in this beautiful cottage... The pictures online (although lovely) don't do it justice at all. The cottage itself is in a very convenient location, super close to the highway, and right off a pretty main road (so it's not too hard to find -- something especially helpful if you're driving around an unfamiliar city in the middle of the night). Margaret & Carmine have put a lot of work into renovating this adorable little cottage and it really shows -- the floors, light fixtures, artwork, tiling, countertops, cabinetry and hardware (just to name a few things) are all gorgeous. I honestly felt like we were staying somewhere you'd see in an episode of some HGTV show or something out of the pages of a Better Homes & Gardens magazine... It's quite simply stunning. I loved the little extra details that made our weekend getaway over-the-top extra special -- the fresh-cut flowers from the garden, apples & pears from the fruit trees outside the bedroom, fresh eggs from the (adorable) chickens on the property. I could go on and on, but to sum it up, we had a truly fantastic time and loved our stay at this cottage. I would recommend this place to anyone (and everyone) looking for somewhere to stay in Concord!
