Our charming, Swedish-style chalet is located on the main drag, on the north side of Sister Bay. You and your group will love walking into town for a trip to the beach and park or a meal at any of Sister Bay's fine restaurants and coffee shops. Or just relax on our front deck and read a book, enjoy a beverage and watch the busy hustle and bustle of Door County. Our cottage is perfect for couples, families (with kids) and people traveling with pets.
The house is full of character and offers plenty of space for your Door County retreat. The house is also stocked with many kid- and baby-friendly amenities. Feel free to message me if you are interested in finding out more!
Our place is on the main street going through Sister Bay. Our neighborhood is residential, with authentic Door County-style homes on our side of the street, and impressive lake homes across the street on the bay side.
  • This is a spacious home in a great location - walking distance to Sister Bay. We could even see the fireworks from the deck. Pam was very responsive to all of our questions, and we really enjoyed our stay!

  • We had an absolutely fantastic stay at this home. We were able to walk to town, and the beach and it was perfect distance. Me and my girlfriends enjoyed/spent most of our time sitting on the deck. Wonderful stay!

  • Loved how close it was to downtown. Great coffee amenities in the kitchen!

  • Wonderful, comfortable home created the atmosphere for me and my four sisters to enjoy our time together. Awesome sunset on the water just a few steps away. What a find!

  • Pam and Chris are very accommodating and lovely hosts. Great experience

  • This was a great two-story house to stay for our vacation. We had a party of six. Had a fire in the backyard, spent time on the cozy deck with pretty café lights. Pam was a great hostess and always promptly returned my text questions. The house is in walking distance to coffee, shopping, restaurants, and the best beach in door County. We loved the location! Sister Bay is right in the middle of all the good stuff. Lots of state parks with amazing views and hiking, and loved how the house is close to all attractions :) choose this house, you won't regret it :) -Alisha

  • We absolutely loved this house! The location is amazing, a five minute walk into adorable Sister Bay where there are some great restaurants and beer gardens. The house is incredibly kid friendly, we travelled with two little ones and it felt like home once we got there. The hosts were in close communication with us before and during our stay and we were so pleased with the experience.

    JD2017-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Pam was very responsive from the first inquiry to check out. The home is charming, clean and welcoming. It was perfect for my husband, little cockapoo and me, although it would be great for a family with kids too! It's close walking distance to restaurants and shops, even a few bars. It's a short drive to Gill's Rock, Fish Creek, and Bailey's Harbor. The amenities such as shampoo, body wash, bug spray and hair dryer were good to have. We enjoyed the Apple TV in our down time, and the throw blankets in the living room! I'd recommend this home to anyone who is looking to relax, unwind and explore!

  • Megan's cottage loft was a perfect place to stay for my husband and I on a weekend getaway. It was located within walking distance to the park, restaurants and shops. Megan herself was so accommodating and helpful. We had planned on bringing our dog but changed our minds at the last minute, Megan and her staff had left out dog treats and dog bowls for our dog! The loft was extremely comfortable and had everything we needed if we had wanted to cook a meal at home. It is located in a quiet location set back from the main road so we felt very private and secluded. I would definitely recommend the loft, I know we will for sure be back!

    Leah2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Megan was a great host who made sure that all of us, puppy included, felt welcome. The loft is in a perfect location! We love fish creek but not always the large vacation crowds. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go while also feeling like we had our own space away from the busyness.

Away from the hustle and bustle, yet walking distance to all that Ephraim has to offer. Explore Door County, then come home and get away from it all. Or never leave the house, as we are sometimes wont to do. Eat at one of the many excellent restaurants on the peninsula, or prepare your own meal in our newly renovated 'chef's' kitchen. Hollis House, built in 1937, is part of the rich history of Ephraim and the surrounding area. Come stay. You'll be glad you did!
  • This beautifully decorated home is in a quiet and serene spot in the woods. It is a 5 minute walk to 42 or Water St. There is more than enough space both indoors and outdoors. It is clean and well equipped. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you for sharing your lovely home!

    Patricia2017-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Dan and Lori's house was incredible! We had family come together from Maryland, Colorado, Michigan, and Wisconsin and we loved the location of the house, the decorating style, and the open space that allowed us to share meals together, play games around the kitchen table, and relax in a beautiful setting. It was an easy walk to the boat pier, beach, restaurants, etc. in Ephraim and a great central location to explore the rest of Door County. I would highly recommend it; we hope to be back!!!

    Lauren2017-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Dan and Lori’s place is a large beautiful house with a lot of open space, great interior design and all amenities and accessories one can possibly need when on vacation. The house is located in a great spot. It is well secluded behind the trees while being just a few minute walk away from the lake and the boat pier - the best place in Ephraim to watch sunsets. A few well-furnished patios around the house add to the beauty of the place. We had a great time staying there for a week and would highly recommend it to anybody looking for a large place (five bedrooms) which is both aesthetically pleasing and practically convenient.

    Helen2017-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at The Hollis House was a fabulous week for our family. The beautifully and creatively decorated home was spacious and comfortable with great character. We enjoyed the private setting set back in a quiet forest yet walking distance to shops, restaurants and beach. Ideal! Lori and Dan were genuinely interested in providing the best experience possible for us...and it showed. We hope to return to The Hollis House this winter!

Great for all year round, hiking, ice fishing, snowmobiling, kayaking, swimming, camp fires. • Wonderful and Alyssa is a good host

    Mary2017-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is a cute & cozy cabin with a private backyard patio with firepit - which my gal friends and I loved! There's a restaurant/bar immediately across from the cabin which was convenient as we were hungry as soon as we got there and just dropped our bags off and then walked over to the restaurant/bar. Everything was very clean. I never saw any bugs/spiders ANYWHERE! Upstairs was a little warm for my friends, so they slept downstairs, though I thought it was fine with the ceiling fan on. There is also a ceiling fan on the main level as well. My friends had some irks with the mattresses, but again, I thought they were fine. It doesn't take much for me to fall asleep! I have the ability to sleep like a rock wherever I am! All-in-all, it was an enjoyable stay here!

    Jennifer2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice property to relax in or retreat to after a few hours of exploring Door County!

    Christina2017-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin has a great feel and location to it! Would definitely be interested in going back

    Tomasz2017-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful place to stay for a getaway in Door County. Gorgeous patio. Lots of beds. Could sleep as many as 8 people. Amenities in the household are plentiful. Cooking is possible. There is even a bar within walking distance. Suitable for longer stay.

    Xiaowei2017-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • It was a nice quiet place to stay and not far from the other towns that we wanted to visit.

    Angel2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great place. Loved the fireplace and patio. Very clean. Alyssa was very quick to respond to all my questions.

    Anne2017-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Overall a good stay. Nice, secluded location by Kangaroo Lake. Amenities are a bit dated, but, does add to the rustic cabin feel. Outstanding communication with the owner - would have like to know that the house is split into two individual units up front - if this were in the normal review, I completely overlooked it.

  • Fantastic house and location. Walter is a great host with quick and friendly communication. My kids and I had a great stay and look forward to staying at Walter's place again!

  • We had a great stay! The house was perfect for me, my parents, and my two small children. Love the close proximity to the beach and Sister Bay's main street. Thanks for having us.

    Karen2016-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Walter was a very accessible host; even though he was not on site, he was a great communicator. The house comfortably fit 5 adults and a baby, and it looks even better in person than it does in the pictures. You can't beat the location, either! Great place, great host!

    Valerie2016-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Location is perfect!! Loved being able to get up, walk just a couple mins to grab coffee and explore town. Comfortable and clean home with well-supplied amneities, however we had issue with a moldy smell in the home.

    Rebecca2016-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • What a great house! Perfect for me and my two kids, perfect condition, tons of amenities - it was like having my own lake house up in Sister Bay. Location is wonderful - just across the street from the beach and park. Restaurants are within walking distance (Wild Tomato and Bier Zot are my favorites), I will plan on staying here every chance I get to make it to Door County!

    Nicholas2017-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • The Sister Bay Getaway was perfect! The hosts thought of everything! We loved the little things that made a big difference, ie. the reading light under the top bunk (my late night reader loved it), the kleenex boxes in every room (so great for my seasonal allergy sufferers,) etc. The beds were very comfy, there was plenty of bedding and pillows! The kitchen has everything you would need, and their are several fun games for rainy days as well as outdoor games for sunny fun. However, the since the beach is just a short walk awaythat is all the fun you will need on a sunny day. We also enjoyed the proximity to the main strip in Sister bay. We had a very short walk to all the great restaurants and shops. I can't say enough about this great little house. It was PERFECT for me and my family (5 of us). It was also VERY clean and smartly updated. Well done! We will tell others and hopefully make it back! I am sure this one is going to be booked solid as the word gets out though!

    Trudy2017-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • Great location to beach and shopping. Would stay again.

    Sarah2016-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay at this house and plan to go back sometime. The location is awesome to the beach and restaurants! You can walk to the beach and to many restaurants. Walter had excellent and quick communication! He also showed concern about comfort and safety. The house was well stocked with kitchen items and bathroom items.

  • A stay here may be the best housing bargain in the area. Diana's home is lovely, quiet, and comfortable with easy access to Bailey's Harbor. I hope to stay here again.

    Jamie2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Diana is a wonderful hostess with a lovely home and two charming pets. My daughter and I stayed with Diana on a hiking and biking trip. She has a large garage with plenty of space for our van, which was great since we had our bikes packed in them. She also provided an electric garage door opener so we could come and go as we please. The beds are very comfortable, and my favorite spot was in her sun room, where I had coffee and read each morning. The best thing about staying with Diana, though, is Diana. She is delightful, but never intrusive, and so thoughtful! She offered us wine and an assortment of coffee, tea, snacks, and breakfast items and adapted her offerings to what we were consuming. Every time I had a question, I noticed a Post-it note with the answer (they're strategically placed wherever you need them). Her home is walking distance to the lake, restaurants, and even a brewery. We highly recommend staying with Diana on your next trip to Door County!

    Carolyn2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first experience using an Airbnb and Diana made it wonderful. She is delightful to talk to and a gracious host. She offered great recommendations for things to see and do and her choices were on point. Our room was very comfortable, immaculately clean, and so convenient for our needs. We really had no expectations so we couldn’t be disappointed. We needed a clean, safe place to sleep and shower, and Diana offered us so much more! Her dog Sophie is a love sponge!

    Judy2017-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely home with lovely art. Diana has it all - and what an interesting host she was! The breakfasts were simply perfect and the beds comfy. Her sweet cat and dog were adorable. Diana's tips as to where we should go were much appreciated - we saw the best of Door County. Highly recommend!

    Lori2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time in Door County and we could not have stayed in a better place. Diana was a great host, gave us a lot of helpful tips and recommendations, and her home was absolutely beautiful, immaculately clean and very comfortable. We also enjoyed playing with Shakespeare and Sophie!

    Becky2017-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Diana has a sweet condo with a nicely furnished private room and bath. She fixes delicious breakfasts and has snacks and wine out in the afternoon as well (we were out and about so we didn't have a chance to enjoy the snacks). She does have a dog and cat which are allowed in the shared living space, but not the private bedroom or bath. Both are friendly and were completely quiet our entire stay. Great location in Bailey's Harbor! We were so happy with our first air bnb stay!

    Emma2017-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Diana's home was easy and friendly. She calmed any jitters I had as this was my first experience using airbnb. She was a gracious host providing me with two lovely breakfasts and a great suggestion for a luscious lobster roll in Sister Bay. So I could make the best use of my limited time on the peninsula, her suggestions for Washington Island were fantastic. No need to worry about Sofie and Shakespeare as they keep to themselves and certainly are not "guard" animals. Wonderful time and get away for me!!!!

  • This is a lovely vacation home. I understand that the TV will be upgraded and put at the correct level for watching. The house is well appointed and comfortable. We stayed in the south side with 4 bedrooms. It worked well for us. The backyard is beautiful, too. The fire pit was all ready to go but it rained and we didn't get to use. Very nice feature to have in the yard. And a great place for kids and adults to play. The owners were readily accessible when we had a question and made some nice recommendations to us. I'm recommending this property to several couples and families who are looking to come visit Door County. We had a great time there. Our thanks. Elizabeth and friends.

    Elizabeth2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful remodeled home with spacious layout and backyard was perfect for our multiple family gathering. We rented the whole house so the plenty of living area for kids and adults. The backyard is quite large so it was great for playing sports and the firepit was nice addition for communal gathering. Overall, everyone loved it and highly recommend!

    Susan2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Dan and Laurel's place is ideally located between Ephraim and Sisters Bay, largely viewed as two of the ideal spots on the peninsula. Anybody wishing to have a family gathering would greatly benefit from the open layout of the home. Great place in a beautiful part of America.

    Will2017-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy home at a good location. Had a great time with friends. But the property itself is kind of old. Floor plan is very weird. Two rooms are only accessible through bathroom. Water is very smelly on the first night - sulfur smell way too strong. The second night there were no heat in two of the four rooms. Could use some renovation.

    Shen2016-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, well-stocked all around. Huge backyard to play in your down time, complete with firepit. Dan and Laurel have clearly put a lot of hard work in creating this great space

    Satish2016-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Our group had a good time in Ephram. The home is quaint but very comfortable. The is no tv or Internet, and the house is in a cell service dead zone. However, this is no problem if you are looking for a relaxing weekend to connect with friends and family. We took full advantage of the beautiful backyard and patio to play board games and hang out. The house is located very close to both the lake and downtown Ephram area with many things to do nearby. I definitely recommend checking out all of the winery's nearby! We were all sad to leave by the time the weekend was over.

  • We stayed at Kimberly's Cabbage for a Bachelorette weekend, and it was absolutely perfect! The Cabbage is beautiful, the scenic view and accessibly of the lake was amazing, and there was plenty of room for our group! We loved the wood-burning fireplace inside. Kimberly was amazing, and offered us suggestions for activities like wine tastings and other night life. She was also very easy to contact with any questions. We rented a limo, which picked us up at the Cabbage and took us to several spots in the area. We had an absolute blast and are so thankful we found Kimberly's Cabbage!

  • We were lucky enough to the first people to stay in the house. It's absolutely beautiful. There is plenty of space with large bedrooms and large living areas. The location couldn't be more perfect in Fish Creek as it's right off the bike trail (and bike rental place), off the main road, but basically right in the heart of things.

  • James and Robin are perfect host.. We reached Ephraim late night around 10:30, we were lost and when we contacted them, James was waiting with flash lit outside so that we could easily locate the place. they were very warm and made us comfortable at home.

    Nirali2015-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • James and Robin were the consummate Airbnb hosts! We truly felt like we were in an actual Bed and Breakfast that we had all to ourselves. Their place is situated in a charming little town in the northwest side of the peninsula, and the views from the windows feature incredible vistas of the lake, the setting sun, and stars on a clear night. James and Robin went out of their way to make us comfortable, and their excellent insider tips of where to go and what to do helped pack a lot of fun, relaxation, good food and adventure into our brief stay in Door County. We also really enjoyed just getting to sit down and talk with them and hear stories from their world travels. The continental breakfasts in the morning were lovely; we loved waking up and enjoying the view from the common area as we sipped tea and read about local history from their library. If you want to have a fantastic time in Door County, stay with James and Robin!

    Bret2015-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • My daughter and I had a great time at Jim's place. The location is great, the view is fantastic and the hosts are gracious! I would highly recommend Jim.

    Claudia2016-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • Jim and his wife are very welcoming, and wonderful hosts. The location of their house is great and has an awesome view of Lake Michigan and one can see Michigan across the lake from the window. Highly recommended for stay in Door county!!

    Yasir2015-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • My mother and I stayed here during our girls' weekend in Door County. As soon as I arrived I was warmly greeted, offered wine, and sat down for a nice chat on the front porch. It was a wonderful start to the weekend after a long drive. For the remainder of the trip Jim and Robin were extremely kind and attentive. After a long bike ride they offered us a nice cold beer. They had a nice breakfast with fruit salad, English muffin, coffee, and juice for us each morning. Gave us suggestions for activities and restaurants in the area. The house was very clean, in a great location in the middle of all the towns of Door County. New mattress on the bed, slept like a dream! Good sized bathroom and closet. What made this weekend so great was their hospitality. Both my mother and I had a lovely weekend. Thank you so much!

    Samantha2016-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • James made us feel welcome with a glass of wine on the porch when we arrived. The bedroom and bed were a bit smaller than we expected but the view was beautiful.

    Kate2015-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Jim greeted us as we arrived... and after introductions and a quick tour offerred us some wine or beer and a chance to chat. Jim was a gracious host. Offered us a list of things to do over the weekend and although we only stayed one night he was atentive to our needs, curious and courageous for taking a chance our one year old would not disturb the household. Really charming home and the view from bedroom 1 cannot be beat. I woke up about 2:30am to a sky full of stars over the lake. Just magical. In the morning Jim had prepared a beatiful continental breakfast that he had waiting for us in the upstairs lounge. Beware, The upstairs lounge is a place you could spend the day just enjoying the view its that good. I wish we had the time to stay longer but our schedules would not allow it. Cosequently we couldnt just ease back and talk with Jim more. This is a place I would recomend to anyone that is looking for a quiet, charming place to stay with a fantastic view for a couple days in the heart of Door County.

We bought at the end of 2014 summer and we began work on this addition in the beginning of 2015 summer. It is now a 21x21 sapace with 10 foot ceilings. We comfortably furnished it with two couches, (one is sofa sleeper), two slipper chairs, two coffee tables, a large area rug, a gas fireplace, and other comforts. There is an an open kitchen/living/dining floor plan design that has been streamlined with new stainless appliances, all the tableware, cookware, small appliances, cutlery, kitchen accessories you might need. Spices, basic condiments, and cooking staples like flour, sugar, coffee, tea, rice, pasta and all paper products are also stocked. As are all linens, cleaning supplies and lots of other extras. A 20.00 charge is added for each extra person per night.
Directions ***If you are driving north on 57 ( the lake side option instead of HWY 42 the bay side option) you turn right on Old Stage Road before you reach SISter Bay . This road bisects the northern peninsula between Sister Bay and Ellison Bay and takes you to the intersection of Hill Road and Old Stage where you take a right to get to our property. Your can also take a right on HWY ZZ and take that around to Hill road where you take a left and we are the second driveway.
  • Prior to booking, you should know that this house is connected to the main house via a hallway. So it's not a completely separate property physically.** If this makes you feel uneasy, you may want to reconsider the booking. However, if that doesn't bother you, you will find a very nice, relaxing, spacious, inviting environment. The kitchen is well equipped which makes for some fun cooking and quick morning breakfasts. The living room is a nice size with plenty of seating. No TVs in any room, but there is wifi. So you're not completely disconnected. The master bedroom is up the stairs and is quite spacious and comfy. The 2nd bedroom is on the main level across from the bathroom. Bed linens are very nice! The bathroom is a good size with a shower. The washer/dryer are full sized and located in the bathroom as well. It's very quiet and there is a huge meadow with walking paths. The owners were very friendly and easy to work with. One evening, our host had company and it was a bit noisy in the 2nd bedroom, but it didn't go late and no sleep was disturbed. **The property consists of a main house and a small house (that once was the garage) connected via a hallway with a pocket door at the end of the hall. We never felt intruded upon and once we were checked in, the hosts did their own thing.

    Susan2017-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay in this Door County loft was lovely! Kathleen is an attentive, generous and kind host. She thoughtfully called us ahead of time to tell us about a change to the property (more room/updates for future stays!) and see if that was acceptable to us. And that thoughtfulness continued. From the spot-on local suggestions she gave to our open itinerary, to the time she sweetly closed our windows before an impending storm, Kathleen is the type of host everyone desires. The loft is exactly as pictured with a comfy bed like a giant marshmallow that I never wanted to leave, instant hot water, and access to many amenities, including a very gracious bottle of champs! We made so many fortuitous memories in DC thanks to Kathleen -- it will be wonderful to return!

    Maren2016-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • The location was beautiful; we enjoyed exploring the land and wooded area. Tim and Kathleen was very nice and Kathleen was very responsive. We were disappointed to discover that the home was not as private as we anticipated. The locked, private entrance was not as private as was described. There was a pocket door to the main house that was not locked and our area was accessible. At times, we would find the pocket door half open. This especially made us uncomfortable as the second bedroom was close to the pocket door, and our daughter was going to sleep in this room. Additionally, if people were in the main house, it was quite noisy in the second bedroom as there was a window opening in the hallway to the main house and we could easily here conversations and the noise of cooking. Additionally, the home was described to have a second bathroom, which was not present. In the end, we decided to leave a day early as the home did not meet our privacy expectations.

    Billie2017-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • The house was a good size for us (2 adults and 1 2 year old). It was easy to get to and had a well-equipped kitchen. We really enjoyed our stay!

    Maggy2017-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • Although Kathleen was never present during our stay (that was made clear via messaging), she still made sure we had a wonderful stay at the Garage Loft. Her husband, Tim, greeted us upon arrival and gave us a quick and effective tour of our temporary quarters. Kathleen also gave us fantastic recommendations on restaurants/things to do in the area upon request. This location is tucked away in its own pocket of surrounding greenery. At night, it's incredibly silent, and the sky is ridiculously clear. Sister Bay's downtown area is only a ten-minute drive away from here. Close enough to enjoy what the small town has to offer, but distant enough to feel like you're at your "own place". Overall, a wonderful location. Thank you Tim and Kathleen!

  • Lovely scenic location, very comfortable and homely. Friendly and welcoming hosts.

  • Kathleen was very communicative and helpful throughout our stay. We arrived late and she was able to leave lights on for us and even replied me when I texted her past midnight! We felt very welcomed in her space. This listing is in a great location, very peaceful and quiet. It is also nearby to downtown Sister's Bay (great restaurants) and the Door County state parks for great hikes.

  • Spacious and clean, secluded yet a quick drive to most locations, awesome shower, host extremely accommodating and easy to communicate with! Would recommend!!

    Alex2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • The area we rented is a finished basement of a house, with the upper part of the house separate. The bedrooms were clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped for basic cooking needs, and there was also a gas grill outside. We enjoyed time around the small fire pit on the driveway. Being a basement, there was a little dampness on the tile floors early in the morning, but there is a working dehumidifier that removed the dampness the rest of the day so it was not noticeable. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend the apartment to families traveling in Door County.

    Sarene2017-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Steven's place had a great location! It was a short drive into fish creek and also to the winery. It was perfect to have that convenience! The space was adequate for sure but could have used a few "tweaks" to make it even better. The smell (due to it being basically a converted basement) was very musty. We emptied his dehumidifier, opened the windows, and even put the air freshener on it's full force and it was still very noticeable every time we came in. There also were people upstairs when we were there - - not sure if it was also a rental or not (that would be helpful to list in the listing) but we were never sure if it was okay to use the fire pit in the back or not since that perceived to be "their space". The footsteps upstairs were noticeable in the bedroom at night and in the morning. It wasn't that big of a deal but something to note. Finally the kitchen (or lack there of) was our biggest concern. I know the listing showed the pictures and it was on us but the utensils, cutting board, and lack of microwave were inadequate in our opinions. There were 5 of us staying there (all adults) and even thought the listing states that it sleeps 6, there were only 4 forks. One couple had to share a fork for dinner the first night. Now we did find a few plastic forks the next day but thought that was very strange. There was a coffee maker and toaster oven but there was not a microwave (a very common appliance in our opinions). Without there being a stove (and us having 2 of our guests having recent dietary restrictions that came-up and having to prepare a lot of veggies and meat), a microwave and a bigger (or additional) cutting board would have been nice. The hot pot that was there did not ever get hot enough to boil water so the amount of cooking we could do was very limited. If you planned to just do a minimal breakfast, that'd be perfect! We ended up having to cook a bit more than expected so it was pretty challenging. Overall, it was a nice place with a great location! Peter was great to communicate with and I'm sure many looking to stay in the Fish Creek area would really enjoy his place

This lovely Door County log cabin is a beautiful home located in the town of Baileys Harbor, Wisconsin. It sits on 3-1/2 wooded acres in a secluded, but not remote location. It is a perfect spot to relax, rewind and still be within minutes of all Door County has to offer. Pet friendly, open year round. Because we are pet and people friendly, we use Mosquito Squad service to keep mosquitoes and ticks down to a bare minimum. Always pet & people friendly natural chemicals used.
We are located approximately one mile from the small town of Baileys Harbor. The cabin is located on a private gravel road with other residences in the area. The circular driveway makes it an easy place to store recreational vehicles (like snowmobiles). The private road is part of a snowmobile trail so access to other snowmobile trails is easy. This gravel road is also one of our favorite places for an evening walk in summer!
Baileys Harbor is located thirty minutes from Sturgeon Bay and ten miles from Egg Harbor, from Sister Bay and from Fish Creek.
  • The cabin was truly magical! It was located in a quiet wooded area about 1 mile from the center of town. It was extremely quiet and a great place to relax! We saw deer wander through the yard every night. The pantry was stocked with spices which was helpful as we cooked a lot. The cabin was also stocked with firewood which was ideal -- there is an indoor fireplace and an outdoor fire pit with a nice sitting area. Also, I want to emphasize how pet friendly the cabin is! We were looking to get away with our two dogs and the setup of the cabin is ideal for our dogs. There are leads placed around the yards, bowls for our special furry friends and blankets for when we wanted to cuddle with them on the couch around the fire. The hostess also owns a great restaurant in town that has its own "doggy menu" -- it really made our stay special. Thank you for a wonderful stay!!

    Laura2016-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at the Cabin in the Woods! Our hosts were very gracious and the cabin was just how we imagined it from the descriptions. Even when we had an issue of losing power for one morning due to a down power line, they were very responsive and kept us up-to-date of the situation all morning long. Cannot further express how pleased we were with our stay and would definitely stay here again!

    Aimee2016-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful place to kick back and enjoy the Door County experience. The restaurant in Baileys Called Fish Market was fantastic too.

  • We stayed here to celebrate NYE and my brother-in-law's birthday. My wife and I came here with her brother and his wife and our two small/medium dogs. This place was just perfect! The cabin was secluded in a peaceful, woodsy setting. The inside had a small, well-equipped kitchen with a dinette and a cozy living room with an easy-to-use fireplace that adds a great character. The bathroom had clean towels, a hairdryer, and shower supplies. There were two bedrooms with plenty of storage space and either a patio or a screen porch, which would be great for summertime use. The cabin is less than 5 minutes away from the restaurants, bars, and beach. The owner of this place couldn't be nicer or more helpful. She makes this place more special by adding some personal touches like a small bag of candy and a gift card to their dog-friendly (in summertime) restaurant that we visited and really enjoyed on a previous visit to DC. Overall we are definitely planning to come back in summertime to be able to enjoy the huge screen porch on the front of the house as well as the firepit and grill.

    Chad2017-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was exactly as described and is a great place to stay for a couple. The dog crate left at the cabin for our dog was extremely convenient along with amenities that included shampoo, soap, basic cooking necessities, and firewood--although we didn't use the fireplace. We certainly would have if the weather were cooler or if it were warm enough at night to have a fire on the fire pit. Have Wi-Fi and DirecTV in the house proved very useful and relaxing in the evenings. We have stayed in Door County before but never stayed in Baileys Harbor. The neighborhood was more secluded than our past stays in the area.

    Dave2016-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great little cabin in the woods - close to Bailys Harbor. We enjoyed our stay very much! Some issues with the cleaning prior to our arrival, but I suspect this is not Karen's fault (poor cleaning crew). We would stay here again.

    Jim2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the cabin was really laid back and relaxing. We spent our days exploring Door County, and the evenings by the fireplace. They provided enough wood inside for a few evenings worth of warmth. The main reason we stayed here was that it was dog friendly, and our pooch had a great time. The cabin had many items geared toward dog owners: crate, bowls, tie-up areas outside, etc. We look forward to coming back.

    Peter2017-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • I could not be happier with my stay! Karen was incredibly accommodating and quick to respond should any questions arise. I felt very much like I was welcome, it was almost as if I was visiting a family friend, I felt so comfortable. The cabin itself was out of a movie. Scenic ride in - a little secluded and a lovey screened in porch perfect for late night talks with friends. It's absolutely perfect for a family of 5 or a small group of friends. The cabin had anything you could ever need for a summer vacation - grill, bonfire pit, a screened in porch, and the outdoors! My only complaint is I wish I had more time at the cabin!! I cannot wait to come back to door county!

  • Shelly was an excellent host! The property is tucked away into northern Door County, an absolutely perfect quiet getaway. The house was private but yet so close to Ellison Bay or Sister Bay. The house was so clean and so cozy. The beds were SUPER comfortable, the towels were soft, and the sheets were clean & crisp. Beautiful prairie views out every window, such a beautiful sight for peak fall colors. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook and wood burning stove was a welcomed cozy feature.

  • Absolutely loved our stay! It was a beautiful home with anything & everything you could need for a comfortable and relaxing vacation. The cottage was spacious and the beds were very comfortable. Very beautiful interior with great amenities. Our favorite part was the cozy screen porch with the fireplace-- spent long nights playing cards and mornings drinking coffee. The directions for check-in and check-out were well described and easy to follow. Would definitely stay here again and would happily recommend to others.

  • This house is perfect if you want to be in a quieter area of Door County away from the crowds. The house is beautiful, with large windows in the living room and porch that look out over the prairie. Best of both worlds experience because you get to stay in a more remote area but are less than 5 min drive to Ellison Bay and ~10 min to Sister Bay. Shelly was very responsive and the emailed instructions were clear/helpful.

    Margaret2017-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • This was a cozy, well-appointed home in the middle of a lovely Door County prairie. My wife and I enjoyed the home, especially the wood-burning fireplace and postcard-like sunset panoramas.

  • My Fiancee and I spent two days in Door County and stayed with Jim and Robin. They were tremendous hosts and not only gave us great recommendations of things to do on our trip, but also helped get us a reservation at the Fish Boil at the old post office. We would happily stay with Jim and Robin again, and will recommend them to any of our friends who are traveling.

  • Jim was a gracious host that was in constant communication to make our stay easy and enjoyable. Jim was unable to meet us due to some personal reasons, but his instructions for accessing the place were very simple. He also provided us with an amazing bottle of Cabernet and $20 in lieu of his absence to provide a continental breakfast. This was great because we put it towards an amazing brunch in Fish Creek that morning. Overall the place was clean, stocked, and in a really good location. The morning view on the balcony was picturesque and made it very easy to step outside for some fresh Wisconsin air. I highly recommend Jim as a host. Thanks!

  • Our family stayed at Cedar Creek Lodge I for a wedding in Door County. It was absolutely gorgeous, both inside and out. We have rented many beach homes and cabins and were so impressed with every inch of this property. This home is a work of art as demonstrated by the beautiful logs used for construction on the outside as well as much of the furniture on the interior. The cabin was spotless upon arrival. Nothing was missing inside; probably the best stocked kitchen I have seen in a property. The furniture was comfortable and we felt very much at home. Everyone has commented on what a beautiful place it was after seeing our photos – wish it weren’t so far from home. The landscaping is breathtaking and we all enjoyed sitting out on the back deck and watching the hummingbirds quietly zooming about the feeders. The fire pit and firewood provided were such a bonus – sadly, we had wedding activities every evening and were too tired to enjoy this time around. Michael, the owner was a joy to work with from beginning to end. There were no surprises and he bent over backwards to help us with any questions we had. Driving directions were helpful, check in was easy and check out instructions and expectations were very reasonable. Our only regret was that we couldn’t stay longer. Hoping to return some day soon.

Come, relax, in the smaller of our two pretty bedrooms, 6-drawer dresser with lamp, two nightstands, with reading lamps, tv, closet, overhead fan/light plus standing tower fan, upstairs in our Sister Bay home, across the street from the bay of Green Bay! Our own getaway vacation home's become a way for us to share the Door County experience with others.
Lovely upstairs location in beautiful Door County. Shared tub/shower combo with vanity, ample towels and bath products. This queen-bedded room has been freshly redecorated down to new mattress and boxspring! It's very cute and immaculate. A sunny space with good lighting and pretty windows. Also includes loft/library and shared bathroom with a powder room easily accessed on the owner's main-floor. Warm welcoming, help getting settled, advice on places to go, things to do, delightful buffet breakfast in beautiful surroundings. We live on a tree-lined street that is directly across the street from the bay of Green Bay. Water access is just down the block and around the corner. Walk to restaurants, coffee shop, ice cream, antiques, a further walk or drive to the beach, marina, and all of "downtown Sister Bay". Close to golf, Peninsula State Park, drive-in movie, lots of hiking, biking, many choices. You'll need a car; a bike is also nice to have up here because there are scenic roads all around us. We can provide you with maps and suggested routes. Our pet, a loving dog, Chi-Chi, is small and friendly. She will love shyly interacting with you, if you're up for it. She's won ribbons for "best demeanor" and "best wiggle-butt".
We are just 4 houses down from a beautiful community garden/farm. You are welcome to tour it and enjoy the hiking trails. Also we're close to local and county and state parks and the beach, which has been renourished, enlarged, and revitalized in 2015-16. New band shell at the beach park, too.
  • Good conversation, attentive to needs, great breakfast, peaceful setting, lovely garden, sweet little doggy AND dynamic Rummikub game!

Enjoy the tranquility and relaxation that the Hesed House has to offer. This 4 bedroom house is an ideal location while visiting Door County Wisconsin.
Come...take a step back in time! Experience the peace and simplicity of Hesed House, a historic Door County farmstead. Enjoy relaxing on the front porch while listening to the many varieties of songbirds, light a campfire, grill an outdoor meal or take a leisurely walk on the reflection trails. The Hesed House Experience is designed to be electronic free and a time to embrace the beauty of the tranquil surroundings. Enjoy a book from the Hesed House library, play an old-fashioned board game, light a fire in the open fireplace and connect with meaningful conversation and memorable stories! *There is no internet access or cable television (movies are provided in the video library) Hesed House is ideally located one mile from Fish Creek and a half mile from Peninsula State Park. It is a peaceful location just minutes away from a range of activity and adventure. Hesed is the Hebrew word for God’s unfailing love. Our sincere hope is that guests will experience the unfailing love of our Heavenly Father. We invite you to get away from the culture of chaos to discover that true riches are built by focusing on what really matters in life.
  • We enjoyed the Hesed house. It was very relaxing and close to every where we wanted to go. Ric met us when we checked and and gave us a tour of the house. He was very nice and told us a little history of the house. We would stay at the House if we come back up to a Door County. The only thing that was confusing but didn't ruin our stay was that going through the photos on Airbnb it looks like there is an extra bedroom according to the photos. What we found out was that there are two photos of the same bedroom but each had a different bed spread on them which made us think there was an extra room. Not a bid deal since the house has plenty of room. I recommend the owner remove one of the photos which may help lease the confusion for another customer.

    Sean2016-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Our family had a great stay at Hesed House. The host was very accommodating. We are definitely thinking of staying here again the next time we come to Door County. The house is a very quick drive to Peninsula State Park and about 25 minutes from many other Door County attractions.

    Mark2016-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time visiting Door County and finding a house that felt like home. The house was a comfortable fit for our group of nine. The location is perfect if you are wanting to be close to activities, but desire peace and solitude when you return home.

    Diane2017-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Our group of 8 (4 couples) rented out the Hesed House for a wedding weekend in Door County. The house is beautiful and our group was completely comfortable here. There is a great firepit on the property, along w/ walking trails through the forest. The adirondack chairs on the porch are perfect for relaxing. The house is a great rural getaway but Fish Creek is close by. If you plan to visit Door County this wonderful place to stay!

    Casey2015-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • This home was a great spot in Door County to relax. My family stayed at the home for a long weekend to celebrate my mother's birthday and we had a great time. The home was a great gathering spot for us to relax on the porch and walk around the grounds. It is just a short drive to a number of restaurants and shops. We did stay with 8 adults for the weekend, with 4 of the adults sleeping in bunk beds. It worked out just fine for us, but just something to be aware of as you are planning.

    Megan2016-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Hesed is in a fantastic location. Great feeling of being in the peaceful Door County countryside but just a short drive to Ephraim, Fish Creek and Peninsula State Park. Action packed family weekend - we went for a 3 mile hike in Peninsula State Park, watched a double feature at the nearby drive-in theater, ate at the Greenwood Supper Club, had root beer floats and ice cream at Wilson's and rented jet skis from the Sister Bay Marina. Hesed House has a lot of character on a beautiful property. Ric is a welcoming host - he lives close by and made our stay enjoyable.

    Stephen2016-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Ric was fantastic -- great communication beforehand and at check-in gave us a short tour and made sure we had everything we needed. The place was SO beautiful, exactly as listed, and was roomy yet cozy. The updated bathrooms and kitchen area made the stay even more upscale feeling, and the rustic touches as well as the secluded feeling were the perfect combination of features for a relaxing girls getaway weekend. Minutes away from great restaurants, shopping, and activities in both Fish Creek and Ephraim. Couldn't have been happier with our experience and will definitely stay again! Thank you, Ric!

Very cute and cozy home to enjoy Door County from. Large, private back yard with pergola and plenty of patio seating including a fire pit area. Charcoal grill on site. Home is centrally located between Washington Island and Egg Harbor. It's within .4 mile walking distance to downtown Sister Bay. Great place to get away and relax and still have the fun of the restaurants and shops nearby. This is our home away from home and we hope it will be yours too.
We feel our home is very comfortable, it does not have "just a rental" vibe. It's small and cozy but without feeling too tight. Front yard and the back yard have great views to take in or go out and relax in.
Take a walk to the east and enjoy the serene country side. Take a walk to the west and enjoy a drink at Husby's or a gelato at The Creamery.
  • this spot was just wonderful. my teen daughter and bestie who moved to the area needed some girl time and we got just that. the home felt just perfect for our needs and everything was clear, organized and comfortable as can be. there was no wifi or cable television which was lovely as i am a huge fan of PBS and had no problem with what it offers but others may not feel the same. we had a friend from the area come for dinner and the kitchen is complete ~ there were two extra beds downstairs incase our visitor wanted to rest up before the drive back home but not sure the air quality would be good for an extended time as it seemed a little damp. as for us, we couldn't have asked for more and audrey is a wonderful host. if i were her i would take a deposit incase her guests didn't care quite as much about her sweet spot as we did. she has done a wonderful job.

  • Audrey's home is beautiful! It is clean, spacious, nicely decorated, and the perfect space for a nice getaway. The backyard has a great spot for a fire, a lovely pergola, and a BBQ! We were able to enjoy nights out and at home because of this. The kitchen has anything you need to cook, too! Audrey was very helpful before and during our time in Door County. She had a helpful manual for the house, and magazines and news clippings for activities and events around town. We brought our little baby too, and Audrey was thoughtful with even the tiniest details - carpets were cleaned and a baby gate was left out. Little details to help make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. We definitely hope to be back soon! Door County is a charming town, and Audrey's home only exemplified that! So grateful she is sharing her little piece of oasis.

  • This is a great home in a perfect location. The beds are comfy, the decor is cute, and the kitchen is very well appointed. The bathroom is a touch small for a family of four, but we managed! :) Audrey is a wonderful host and communication with her is a breeze. We highly recommend this place!!

Steps away from Peninsula Players Theater and the refreshing waters of beautiful Green Bay, this delightful, rustic log cabin is situated on 2.4 scenic acres of woods, with paths weaving in and out of sun and shade. Commune in cozy seclusion with nature, or drive to lively downtown Fish Creek in just five minutes!
This 2-story, 100+ year old log cabin was painstakingly moved, log by log, from Belgium, WI and has been lovingly maintained.
  • The cabin was amazing. Very quiet, peaceful and relaxing. Beautiful setting. Loved the cleanliness and coziness of it! Our favorite part was drinking coffee out on the deck in the morning. We also especially enjoyed the fireplace! Walking on the property and exploring was another favorite. So many wonderful things to say about staying here. Even though we felt miles away from everyone- we were actually very close to everything. We loved going into town and then retreating back to this place in the woods. We will definitely stay here again next time we are in Door County.

    Melissa2016-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Clean , lovely cabin in a beautiful setting. It was rainy and misty in the evenings we were there but we still enjoyed the view from inside. Walking in the AM among the trees was very special. One of the group enjoyed visiting the old cemetery nearby. There is a wonderful kitchen with everything you need. Jenny has a very inclusive list that includes all the info you need. Although we only had a couple of days in Fish Creek, we really enjoyed the experience and staying in the "Sweet" cabin.

    Ruth2016-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Cabin itself was great. Far enough away to be a getaway but close enough to make driving in to town easy. Jenny was awesome with answering all of our questions (and we had a few during our stay) and provided a wonderful outline of the house so we could find everything we needed. Would love to come back.

  • Charming cabin in the woods. Complete with meditation paths, stars, wandering deer, and evenings around the fire. We were there with family, and it was a great fit. Plenty to explore on the grounds and fish boils and ice cream in nearby Fish Creek and Egg Harbor. We can't wait to come back and take advantage of the proximity to the Peninsula Players Theater. And, Jenny was fantastic to work with, too!

The trilliums and forget-me-nots were blooming everywhere, and the fireplace added just the right touch for perfect evenings after a day in the woods and dinners out at some excellent local restaurants. Jenny was so accommodating and made the trip so easy!

  • We had the pleasure of staying here during the Pumpkin Patch festival weekend in Egg Harbor. What was perfect for us about this place is that it was very secluded yet close to the main road to get to Egg Harbor or Fish Creek in minutes. We had more than enough space for us and the pup to stretch and enjoy a relaxing weekend away from the city. We very much so enjoyed our time and would recommend this place for a quiet getaway in a log cabin surrounded by beautiful woods.

  • If you're looking to relax and disconnect... But be minutes away from the bustle of fish creek.. This cabin is for you. We really appreciated the rustic architecture.

  • We really enjoyed our vacation here. The location is perfect, being close to Fish Creek and Peninsula State Park, we could walk to almost all our activities. The rental comes with a kayak and paddle boards which we ended up using every day. The rental also comes with bikes, which was great with all the trails at Peninsula Park. The cabins were clean and well equipped for cooking for a big crowd. This is a perfect rental for large family vacations.

  • Was a very fun unique place to stay. The cabins were so cute on the inside. Having a yard and playground, and our own paddle boards, kayak and bikes was amazing. The grandkids had so much fun, they loved the fact that it was not a hotel. Great place to stay.

The Ellmann House is a historic home in the village of Fish Creek. Walking distance to the village and all of the shops and amenities in the village. It has a porch on three sides, a fire pit and barbecue. It also has a fully furnished kitchen.
  • This was a perfect spot for a bigger group and can't beat the location. Plenty of places for people to sleep and a very fun hangout spot with the huge porch! Definitely will try and stay here again next year!

  • Very charming house full of wonderful antiques! Be sure to ask Steve about the history of the house and its contents! We appreciated the place so much more after hearing it. Loved the location and the property. It's really a steal for what you get in terms of space, history, and location. Plenty of room for 8 people. We used the coffee maker, dishwasher and stove/oven and everything worked. Enjoyed the outdoor firepit at night. The living room area did have a bit of a musty smell at first, but nothing unexpected for a house this age. The place felt less "old" and more "antique". Would love to stay here again!
