We love living in the upper Olympic Peninsula! We lived most of our lives in the San Francisco Bay Area. We have lived here for 15 years now and have never looked back. Our neighbors are friendly and we all help each other from time to time. We would love to recommend some of our favorite restaurants, just ask us, some sample menus will be in the guidebook in the room.
  • Loved this getaway! Perfect for an over night in the beautiful Pacific Northwest - far enough from Seattle to feel like a rejuvenating vacation. My best friend and I visited with her two little ones, ages 2 years, and 6 months. Very accommodating, clean, and welcoming! Loved the treehouse and the hosts - they provided a warm welcome, personal tour of the farm with introductions to all the CUTE animals...and the breakfast! Omg! Blueberry waffle heaven :) The hosts were very quick to respond, as my friend and I requested a reservation the night before the day we hoped to visit due to a cancellation of our previous plans. So glad there was an opening at the treehouse. We got a little lost upon arrival, we went too far down the dirt road, but the neighbors were very kind and pointed us in the write direction. The kitchen and bathroom both have supplies that are handy. Coffee, tea, and snacks are supplied in the room. Yum! Would definitely consider visiting again. And again! :) loved it!

  • The best b&b!! The tree house is very beautiful and special. Never seen this before. Children are very excited about it. We love the house and these small animals( goats, sheep,dogs.....). The host is very very nice. Jim introduced a lot to us. He had a golf car to help you move your luggage. I forgot to buy milk for the children, so I asked Jim if they have some. He brought a bottle of sheep milk to us. It is the authentic organic milk and it tastes great. Next day morning, he brought the breakfast to the tree house. And they have lots drinks and supplies for you in the tree house. I will recommend my friends to go there. It is more than 5 stars. Thank you so much for giving us such a special experience. :)

  • The treehouse is truly a unique accommodation. The hospitality exhibited by the hosts was exceptional.

  • We loved staying here! Our hosts were wonderful! Breakfast was awesome. We loved getting to milk the goats! Stay here! It is a very delightful and unique experience!

  • Adrienne and Jim were wonderful hosts:tour of the farm, sweetest animals ever1 fresh, homemade goat cheese and fruit upon our arrival. Breakfast in our room the next morning (yes, fresh eggs from the henhouse!). The bed and room were so comfortable and homey.. We would like to come back for a longer stay!

    Linda2015-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • My parents and I LOVED our stay at the treehouse on Adrienne and Jim's idyllic farm. Unfortunately, we only booked one night - we could have stayed a week! Animals lovers: don't miss this place. We loved hanging out on the porch in the cedar trees drinking coffee with the friendly kitties on our laps, meeting the goats, and enjoying the delicious waffles Jim brought us. The treehouse convenient to Olympic National Park and places to eat, yet far enough out that it felt like a true sanctuary. The comfy bed (and rollaway bed) and a nice heater were cozy when it got chilly at night. This place is also great for those with mobility issues, as there's a ramp leading to the treehouse itself. My mom recently had double knee replacements and had no trouble at all. In short: book it!

  • A tree house on a farm is a unique experience. The cabin is well equipped and easy to enjoy.

  • Such a magical place! We enjoyed every moment and would recommend it to anyone who wants a peaceful retreat!! Thank you so much for making us feel so welcomed. Even the animals were loving and friendly! Couldn't have asked for a better weekend away from it all!!!!!

The Olympic Forest Farmhouse is your perfect getaway spot. 20+ acres to roam with a creek running through. The farmhouse is 10 minutes outside Port Angeles, close access to town, yet remote location. The Olympic National Forest is your backdrop. Ideal location for hikers, lake goers, a day trip to Victoria Canada, or those just looking to get away from city life for a few days. This is a great base camp for exploring or just getting away from city life.
We have a small BBQ grill and portable fire pit available for use. Please inquire about bringing dogs. We love pets but want to confirm they have manners first. Lots of family friendly movies and games available for use along with Playstation (must bring your own PS3 games). Overall you will have some amazing views and likely get to see the herd of Elk that frequent the property.
Remote location yet 10 miles to Port Angeles. 11 miles to Lake Crescent, 5 miles to Lake Sutherland, and 2 miles to Elwha Trailhead.
  • Breanna was a great hostess. The home was perfect for what we were looking for!

    Leslie2017-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • Spacious inside and out and very comfortable. Awesome setting with creek and mountains rising behind the property! Great communication.

  • Breana was wonderfully communicative and we had a great stay. It's a beautiful place!

    Daniel2017-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Location was beautiful and the house spacious and well maintained. Breana was very helpful and responsive to our queries. We loved our stay and will definitely come back here.

  • This is a nice place too stay. It's an older farmhouse with beautiful scenic views. It's located right next to the highway, and road noise can be pretty noticeable at times, but it never bothered us. It's in a really good location to the national park. We got good Verizon coverage at the house so we were able to set up a wireless hotspot and connect the tv to give us something to watch at night. The house itself needs a bit of sprucing up inside and out, but it was a fine place to stay while visiting the park.

    Rory2017-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Pros: Great location to get to lake, beaches, waterfall, two old damn sites, hiking trails Large property to explore for children Comfy beds Nice bedrooms Spacious home Private Wildlife on property Beautiful view of mountains Cons: Towels, pots and pans, most items in the home could be better quality Bathrooms need a facelift If you're a light sleeper, you'll need earplugs at 4 a.m. for the highway noise

    Monica2017-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Loved this farmhouse! It's spacious and on a ton of land. You feel like you're out in the country, but Port Angeles is a so close. We stayed for 3 days, but I wish we could've stayed for weeks. It's in a great location if you're looking to explore the Olympic National Park!

Our cozy upstairs apartment sleeps four. It is located on the Elwha River at the entrance to the Olympic National Park. You may be lucky and see the Roosevelt Elk in the pasture. It is also close to Crescent Lake, the Straight for surfing and Sol Duc Park.
Our upstairs apartment sleeps four. There is a one and a half story set of steps to climb to the apartment. We are on Olympic Hot Springs Rd on the Elwha River, at the entrance to the Olympic National Park. While the river is not visible from our place, you can hear it when it is high. You may be lucky and see the Roosevelt Elk in the pasture if they are down from the mountain. It is also close to Crescent Lake, the Straight for surfing and Sol Duc Park. Olympic Hot Springs is at the end of the road. A two queen bed apartment with TV, VCR, DVD, Nintendo 64, PlayStation 2, cards, boardgame and stereo. Please note that we are an "unplugged" environment and we do not have regular TV or wifi. Small kitchen with most light basics (tea, coffee, sugar, etc.). Couch and chairs, and 3/4 bath with shower. 100% cotton, high thread count bed sheets and towels. Apartment, seating area outside and downstairs with picnic table. Interaction with owners is upon check in and only if guests have a need. You can hear the Elwha River when the windows are open. The Roosevelt Elk silently show up to fill the pastures with 40+ head of elk every few weeks. The elk are wild and come and go as they please. This is not a ranch where we raise elk, just where they sometimes live. We back up to the Olympic National Forest and are walking distance to the entrance to the Olympic National Park and Madison Falls. We are dog friendly, having one ourselves. Our horses are available for your love and attention, but sorry, not to ride. Clallam County Public Transit stop at corner of Olympic Hot Springs Rd and Hwy 101. Close access to the park and river for backpacking, hiking, biking, kayaking. Hike up the road to Olympic Hot Springs. Access to the Olympic trail ring and the Olympic Discovery Trail. Close to Crescent Lake, Sol Duc Hot Springs. 12 minute drive to town with access to both Hurricane Ridge, restaurants, shops and the Black Ball Ferry to Victoria, B.C.
You can hear the Elwha River when the windows are open. The Roosevelt Elk silently show up to fill the pastures with 40+ head of elk every few weeks. Their ability to come and go quietly in the valley has given them them the name of The Ghost Herd. Our horses are available for your love and attention, but sorry, not to ride.
  • Great spot for peace and quiet and access to local trails, etc. Well-equipped kitchen makes it easy to avoid schlepping into town for meals as well. And the fresh load of warm beer bread Kim provides is almost worth the trip itself!

    David2016-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay here was definitely more than I had imagined it would be. The apartment was very comfortable and cozy, and turned out to be the perfect location for our first Olympic Peninsula adventure. Kim and Charles were very welcoming, and it felt like they were there to help us with anything if we needed it... Which we didn't need much because everything was already perfect! If you're having second thoughts about pulling the plug on this stay, I will just say from our experience: DO IT! You will not regret it :-)

    Logan2016-05-02T00:00:00Z
  • Clean. Quiet. Secluded. Comfortable. Friendly. Great place to stay.

  • We loved Kim's place. Quite private peaceful & cozy, & and the bread was yummy

  • Nice home and very close to a lot of beautiful places. Would stay again.

    Jessica2017-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Kim's place. Beautiful scenery and a comfy place to sleep! A great spot for checking out the national park nearby.

    Justin2017-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • I would highly recommend the Ghost Herd Ranch to anyone staying in the Olympic National Park area. It was extremely comfortable and had everything you will need, even for an extended stay. The ranch is very scenic and the surroundings are relaxing. The fresh made bread is such a special treat and is truly delicious!

    Alexandra2017-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • Kim was very welcoming upon our arrival and showed us around the place and how everything worked. The space is nicely furnished and cozy. I only stayed one night but it would be nice place to stay a few days too. This is a good location for access to the park, and to get away from people, but you're close enough to port angeles if you need to pick up anything there. I loved waking up and just watching the horses and chickens for a while. I would definitely consider this location again if I'm ever back in Washington.

Located in the beautiful Elwah Valley, just 5 minutes drive from Spring Road and easy public access to the Elwah River, this 3 bedroom 1 full bath home has a unique history.  Built in the 1930`s, in what is now the Olympic National Forest, this cabin was built as part of New Deal to provide homes for people working in the area.  In the 1970`s the cabin was transported to its current location.  It is now sited on a 1 acre property bordered on the west side by an unnamed creek and is close to the newly restored Elwah River. This rustic cabin is only 5 minutes from the public access to Lake Sutherland, and only 15 minutes west of Port Angeles, Washington. In a truly rustic setting, this home comfortably accommodates parties of 6-8 guests.  As you enter the large cabin, you come into an open area with the dining room and kitchen to the left and the living room to the right. A stairway leads to the loft and master bedroom. At the back of the main floor are the guest bedrooms, full bathroom and the laundry room/mud room.  The first guest room has 2 twin beds.  The second guest room has a full bed.  Upstairs, the master bedroom has a king-sized bed, a thoughtfully engineered "electronics charging station".  The TV has a HDMI cable available to hook up to your laptop and a DVD player.   The loft has games, a reading nook and floor space to play or accommodate a couple extra guests in sleeping bags. The loft looks down onto the living room where there is a comfortable seating area to gather by the warmth of the wood stove or enjoy the large flat screen smart TV.  There is no cable or other TV service here, so bring your own Netflix or Amazon accounts or even just sit an talk.  Limited rural internet; Hot spot (10 G/month, first come first serve).  There is also a DVD player with this TV.  If you are looking for a home base to explore the North Olympic Peninsula, this history rich cabin on over 1 acre is the place you want to be.  In the Elwah Valley you are framed by the Olympic Mountains where there are lots of popular hikes in the valley and surrounding area.  The Olympic Hot Springs, Sol Duc Falls and Hot Springs, and Marymere Falls are close by and favorite destinations. Families with young children will love this rustic get away.  Search the creek for crawdads.  Visit Lake Sutherland for Kokanee fishing or water sports or take in the nearby Lake Crescent.  There is plenty of parking on the property if you are bringing a boat and trailer.  Don`t miss the exquisite Makah Museum in Neah Bay or the Hoh Rain Forest, both o easy driving distance.  Stop by Granny`s Cafe, just down the road, for a country cafe dining experience.  Be sure to leave room for pie!.  Enjoy evening fires and s`mores at the fire pit, and games on the large lawn area.  Don`t forget to stop at any of the local (Port Angeles) grocery stores or gas stations to get wood for the fire pit and wood stove. Extended stay?  No problem, the cabin is equipped with a washer and dryer in the laundry/mud room.  There`s plenty of room for meal prep in the kitchen with island.  There is a full sized fridge, electric stove/oven, microwave, dishwasher, electric kettle and brew coffee pot.  There is a pantry for easy access to your groceries.  The dining table has leaves to seat 6 at the table.  We provide pots and pans, cooking utensils, plates, glasses, cups and utensils.  We also provide bed and bath linens, paper products, shampoo and soap, and hair dryer.  Bring you groceries, including your favorite spices, teas and coffees.   This rustic retreat is perfect for hikers, bicyclers, families, explorers, fishing and hunting groups.

  • Great location! Clean and Private! Has a great loft play area (with toys and games my little guy loved it) and a tire and rope swing out front. HUGE front yard for kids and dogs to play! You could even camp in the front yard. Next time we may bring our camper and do a family reunion. Brand new grill too! Lots of attention to detail. Excellent visit! Will be back again!

    West Of The Elwah
    1 review
River House, a 2600 sf home on a high bank above the Elwha River, shows views of the River and the distant snow-topped mountains that are a photographer's delight, presenting an ever-changing vista of light and shadow.
The spacious great room/dining area/kitchen is lit by a three-story prow window and invites day's end relaxation with television, wood stove and comfortable leather seating. The dining area features seating for six around a large teak table. The modern kitchen is well-equipped for meal preparation. A deck off the living area and a hot tub and fire pit come with views of the River and mountains. The "Sockeye Suite" a light-filled room with an en-suite bath, king size bed, television and walk-in closet, encompasses the second floor, assuring the greatest privacy. A balcony off the bedroom is a fine place to take your morning coffee. The adjacent "Tuckaway Room," a cozy spot with a comfortable twin bed, shares a bath with the Sockeye Suite. On the main floor, a third bedroom features a king- size bed, television, a walk-in closet and an adjacent designated bath. "Waterfowl Room" takes its theme and colors from exquisitely detailed duck prints and decoys. The fourth bedroom is the striking "Upland Game Birds" room featuring prints of a pheasant in flight and ruffled grouse, a queen bed, walk- in closet and an adjacent designated bath. Though River House does not have ramps, it is accessible via 2 steps at the front of the house. The open kitchen, dining area and living area are very spacious, including wide aisles in the kitchen, making wheelchair and other assisted mobility easy. The deck off the dining area is the same height as the interior flooring, allowing outdoor viewing of the River and mountains. A path down to the River allows a close-up view of the changes in the water flow since the the Glines and Elwha dams were removed. We are blessed with occasional visits from deer and the Herrick Road elk herd, as well as cougar and bear spottings. Our neighbor has several goats and a flock of chickens that visit regularly. (They sell fresh eggs which are a real treat.) Across the River is the Olympic Hot Springs Road entrance to the Olympic National Park. This entry leads to a recently built overlook to the former site of the Glines Dam. Lake Crescent is about 15 minutes west on Highway 101. The Lodge has a covered porch and outdoor seating fine for sipping your tea, coffee, wine etc and viewing a stunning lake, recently voted the best in Washington. There are easy flat walking paths on the grounds as well. A mile-long trail leads to the 90 foot Marymere Waterfall. Olympic Raft and Kayaking is literally "right down the road". Harbinger Winery's Tasting Room is about 6 miles east on 101, on the right side. Right next door is Adventures in Kayaking. In addition, the home comes complete with a washer/dryer, three Tv's, Cable television with HBO, a fire pit and a hot tub to relax in while you check out the amazing views.

  • The setting over the river was wonderful!

  • The home was absolutely gorgeous, just as expected. Loved the view and the location, just far enough from town without feeling totally cut off from shopping etc. The table was already beautifully set when we got there, fresh flowers all over the house. You can tell that Richard takes great care of his home and strives to make his guests feel comfortable. Very easy to communicate with. We hope to be back at some point.

This community property has three vacation units on it. There is an additional main house and separate cottage, so other guests are sharing the community property with it`s trails, creek access and outdoor seating areas with you.
  • Great place. Very stylish, there were thoughtful gestures and furnishings, and the location was excellent. Single bathroom in the master bedroom was not an issue for us, as we were there with our son.

    Andres2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Elwha Place was exactly what you see in the pictures and hear about in the other reviews. We didn't want to leave. If you are looking to sit around and surf the internet on your vacation, this isn't the place for you. The wi-fi is horribly slow, but the cell service is strong! The place is beautiful and centrally located for day trips into Olympic, or you can just sit on the deck in the swing sipping coffee or wine and listening to the creek. Our 12 yr old daughter and 10 yr old son also loved exploring nearby, as did we. Highly recommended.

    Craig2017-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Would recommend this spot to anyone looking in the area, it was very clean and super cute!

    Lindsay2017-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and unique property. This place lacks nothing! Highly recommend this place.

    Shannon 2017-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • The elwha place was a gorgeous place to stay. Right behind the house was a lush and verdant walk to a creek and a small island. There was a fire pit provided to make s'mores and look at the night sky. We enjoyed many of the amenities such as the kitchen to cook some meals which we then enjoyed out on the porch overlooking the trees and flowers. We also loved this location due to its proximity to the national park. Several hikes were just a short ride away and then back to this little rental. Over all a really charming place to stay.

    Ellen2017-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • This place greatly exceeded our expectations. The setting is surreal, very peaceful. Our only regret was not staying longer. This was our first time to Olympic National Park. With small kids, the short trail along the creek behind the house was really cool. We were equal distances (40 min) from Hurricane ridge and Sol Duc hot springs. Both were good family excursions. Marymere Falls, a very manageable hike, was even closer. Everything in the house was in good condition, perfect size for a small family. The sofa and beds were very comfortable. Some of the switches were tricky, but everything was well labeled. A nice cedar play-seta was even on the property.

    Jordan2017-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • The house is lovely, with a large deck overlooking a stream in the back. The beds were really comfortable and kitchen was well equipped. The only minor issue is that the door to the only bathroom is inside one of the bedrooms.

    Elliott2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is just as nice as it looks on the photos. Very comfortable, well stocked with essentials, a lovely location. We especially enjoyed the deck after hiking around the Elwha River and bicycling the Olympic Discovery Trail. It's so peaceful sipping wine while listening to the creek after a full day. We found nothing at all lacking in the apartment but I do understand what a previous reviewer was talking about as far as the only bathroom being directly off the master bedroom. If two adult couples were sharing the apartment, that could be kind of weird! But as long as you're aware before you go, it shouldn't be a big problem. And the management company was on top of everything -- we had an issue with the light above the stove being out (it would have been awfully dark to cook without it) and they texted and called immediately to make it right. I would highly recommend working with the management company again, and the Elwha Place in particular.

  • We reserved this house because of its close proximity to Olympic National Park. It was the perfect jumping off point for our week here. The home was warm and friendly, the white robes were a plush bonus. The kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed using the grill in back to cook out two of the nights. The back yard was lush and green and we felt like we were really in the forest. The owners made it so easy for us to pick up our key even though we had a late arrival the first night. Would highly recommend this home for those visiting the park or those who just want a relaxing retreat. We would definitely come back again!

  • Beautiful, comfortable home in a great secluded location. The pictures actually don't do it justice. I was pleasantly surprised at how spacious it is. And a creek in the back yard that felt like it belonged just to us. It's close to so many National Park activities and just a few miles from town--nice grocery story and great Thai restuarant. If we could've, we'd have stayed a lot longer.

On 5 wooded acres, 1.5 miles from Olympic Nat Pk, yards away from Elwha River, full size bed, modern kitchen & upgraded bathroom, washer/dryer, 32" Flat Screen HDTV with 100's of channels. Tasty well or filtered water. Due to rural area I've no wifi to offer. Those with AT&t or Verizon unlimited data plan will be fine
Yes I'm in a park like setting already but I landscaped my property to enhance the effect, building bird feeder poles and planting colorful native plants and rock gardens. Close to many hilly hiking trails, fishing and water skiing as well.
Quiet, close to the national park, running and hiking trails, Elwha River. About 50 miles to the Pacific Ocean using HWY 101 which is a convenient 1/2 mile from property. Quiet area with little or no traffic noise besides chirping birds and barking dogs!
  • In a beautiful forest setting, Steve's place is very clean, quiet and comfortable. Your own room upstairs with another small room attached, your own bathroom downstairs and access to the living areas. The location provides great access to the whole northern part of the peninsula. Steve makes you feel welcome and safe.

  • Another enjoyable stay with Steve. Thanks Steve.

  • Steve was an excellent host, he communicated well and was always quick to respond to any questions I had. The room was clean and comfy. Steve was also happy to share food and conversation and always had coffee prepared in the mornings. The location great for hiking - with some trails in walking distance. I explored the forest, mountains and coast whilst there and enjoyed them all. I'd highly recommend a stay here!

  • Steve is a kind and thoughtful host and his home is impeccably clean and well organized. The guest room and bed are comfortable. This home is in an ideal location for exploring the Port Angeles area and all that the Olympic National Park has to offer. It is particularly close to Elwah River hikes, Hurricane Ridge and the Sol Duc Hotsprings, Crescent Lake and surrounding hikes. Forks and Pacific Beaches are an easy drive away and very manageable for an easy day outing. All in all, I spent a relaxing couple of days at Steve’s home exploring the area.

    ANNETTE2017-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay at Steve's place. Great location to explore the Olympic National Park. Steve also provide books on good day hikes in the area which was really helpful. Thanks Steve!

    Jenna2017-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Steve's place is the best of both worlds: all the urban amenities in a very beautiful rural setting. Five minutes from the Elwha River trails, ten minutes from Port Angeles and fifteen minutes to Sol de Luc so I couldn't ask for a better location. Steve was very friendly, helpful and gave a great orientation to his beautiful home. Overall a great place to stay.

  • Steve is a great host as totally made me feel at home including watching a hockey game! His place is in a specular location near some incredible hiking in the beautiful Olympic Mountains. It is extremely clean and lots of room. Loved my stay and would highly recommend this great place to stay in a beautiful part of world.

  • My wife and I had the most amazing time spending our 10th year anniversary by staying at The Woodland Retreat Cottage. The cottage is extremely comfortable, secluded and quiet; located about 15 minutes away from downtown Port Angeles, 40 minutes from Sequim, 1 hr 45 min from Cape Flattery Trail and close proximity to Olympic National Park. During our morning checkout, we had an amazing experience feeding their private fallow deer herd! We're looking forward to staying here again when Spring/Summer season comes! It feels perfectly secluded while not being too far from town. Great location near the National Park. The grounds near the main house are absolutely beautiful and worth exploring. They have the sweetest dog that took us on a tour of the whole place, she was just the cutest. We got to feed fish in the big pond and hand feed their deer. I would definitely recommend this place - we will be back!

  • Tuvalu and family were wonderful hosts. The homestead was so welcoming with the sweet goats and lively chickens. Susanne the turkey was also very sweet. The place had so many thoughtful extra touches to make guests feel welcome and comfortable. The care and attention to detail here are obvious. The location is peaceful and gorgeous in the woods with beautiful mountain views. We loved meeting this family and will definitely return next time we are on the peninsula. Excellent experience! Thank you!

    Kathryn2017-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Tuvalu and her family were great hosts, they took care of every need of their guests in advance, leaving us feeling absolutely welcome in their home. We fell in love with the idyllic location immediately. You could feel the love the family puts into their house and land in every nook of the place -- from the details in the decoration to providing all the little things a traveller might need on the way. At the edge of the woods with a very friendly turkey and its chicken friend we experienced the wild nature of Port Angeles directly. Sitting in front of the house and watching falling stars at night was amazing to us big city people. We would love to come back one day.

  • The house was true to its name 'little house in big woods'. We had a nice quite stay. The host was very personal

    Manisha2017-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • We just left the Port Angeles area and Tu's farm, and can't stop talking about how much fun we had. It was perfect and Tu was the kindest, most generous host. If you are looking for a place to stay near PA with quick access to town, Olympic National Park (Hurricane Ridge and Lake Crescent) and/or a ferry to Canada, you have to stay here. My kids just loved it! It felt like home.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our Little House in the Big Woods! It was our first night's stay in Washington after flying in from the east coast. The house was clean, neat, well furnished, comfortable, and perfect for our family of five adults. Tu was a wonderful host, greeted us, and introduced us to her animals and place. Great location for Olympic National Park! A unique and fun place to stay!

    Deborah2017-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Tuvalu is a very gracious and friendly host, and her secluded spot in the woods is the perfect place for a relaxing gathering with family and friends. We loved her charming home and enjoyed all the woods had to offer. It was a wonderful home away from home!

    Dawn2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • We booked last minute for a wedding and Lake Crescent and needed a place to stay the night before. Tuvalu made our stay so enjoyable and gave us a great spot to sleep off the first night of a long wedding weekend. We had everything we needed and more - tea, coffee, any toiletries you may have forgotten, a very nostalgic collection of classic movies; Tu and family have thought of everything! We even inquired about a spot for gluten free pancakes for the morning, and she *just happened* to have some frozen to share with us. (They were delicious! But I can make no guarantees of future pancake availability.) Comfy and friendly, it was a perfect hide away, and we will definitely come back again.

  • Nice spot.

    Erik2017-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Got off to a bad start by not being able to find the key to the cabin. It was not where it was supposed to be. It's only by luck that we found it after an hour of looking. Cody left us a phone message that said he would be out of cell range most of the day we arrived and where the key would be. So, when we couldn't find the key, we couldn't reach him. He did give us Alethia's number but she couldn't be reached either. I emailed Cody from our phone but got no response that night. There was also a detour on the way to the house that would have been nice to know about ahead of time. There was old coffee in the coffee maker and it made us wonder if anyone had really cleaned the place. He called us the next day and learned that we DID get into the cabin. He apologized and credited us for 2 of our 3 nights. So it turned out well and we felt it was a fair deal. The cabin is spacious and we liked the location, being out from town a ways.

    Nancy2013-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at this lovely cabin for two days and we couldn't have been more pleased! Cody was great and the cabin was comfortable, homey and the perfect place to go "camping with a new born." Only complaint is that we had to leave :)!

    Michael2013-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Cody's place was awesome - totally unique, in the woods, rustic but close to town. We had a great time as did our dog Bodi. We watched VHS movies on the two TVs. There is no cable or Wi-Fi but the Verizon signal was strong there so we had no problem. Would definitely recommend!

  • Cindy's cottage was absolutely perfect. Cindy and her husband went above and beyond to welcome us and make sure we had everything we needed: snacks for hiking, cooking utensils, an incredibly comfortable bed, and adorable pets that greet you when you drive up to the cottage, fruits you can pick fresh from the trees, etc. It is the PERFECT location if youre planning on visiting olympic national park, as its probably as close you can get without camping. The patio is also perfect for watching the sunset and relaxing. I would 100% recommend Cindys cottage! Thank you so much for everything Cindy!

  • We loved staying at Cindy's place! It was very clean, the bed was super comfortable, and she even stocked our fridge with breakfast items and snacks AND let us pick fresh berries and cherries from her gorgeous backyard (all of which saved us a trip to the store)--so nice of her! She gave us a tip on a new hike that had just opened and we were so glad we took her suggestion because it ended up being one of our favorite parts of the trip. I'd highly recommend this place to anyone heading out to the Peninsula, you won't be sorry!

    Evan2017-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is beautifully situated and we loved the private deck over the orchard. It was clean, cozy, and quiet, and Cindy added lots of nice touches like snacks in the fridge. She was also very easy to get in touch with, which made check-in and check-out effortless. It was a great home base to explore the Olympic National Park and the beaches along the coast!

  • Great location, so peaceful. Cindy and Richard are so kind and generous. My wife and I can highly recommend the cottage.

    R.2017-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Cindy (and her husband) were responsive and extremely welcoming and hospitable. The cottage is located about 20 minutes (drive) from downtown Port Angeles and is located on a very large and scenic plot of land. The layout is like a one bedroom apartment and is built very well. Black out shades are installed on all of the windows and the bed is very comfortable which allowed us to get the best sleep that we've gotten in months. There is deck that comes off of the master bedroom that features views of the Olympic Mountains. The closest restaurants and grocery stores are in downtown Port Angeles so we would recommend picking up some food on the way in. There is a fully stocked kitchen if you are interested in cooking. It is easy to get to all of the main hikes and attractions such as Hurricane Ridge, Crescent Lake, Hoh Rainforest, etc. from the cottage. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

  • Awesome house on a private, gated driveway. We enjoyed fishing on the dock and in the row boat, making s'mores around the fire and eating dinners on the big dining room table with the most beautiful view. Everything was clean and comfy and they even had a bucket of things to help make our dog's stay fun too! Stan and Sally were helpful with hiking tips and last minute questions. They had a guest drawer of cosmetics incase you forgot something and the kitchen had everything you needed to make yummy meals.

  • What a great house for a Olympic Peninsula getaway! My husband and 6 of our friends spent 4 nights at the Lake Sutherland Vacation home and had an awesome time exploring the peninsula and enjoying the comforts of the house. Everything you may need during your stay seems to be thought of including towels for humans and dogs alike, blankets, firewood and charcoal for grill; plus extras including an awesome record collection our group of friends thoroughly enjoyed. The hot tub hit the spot after a long day hiking and Olympic adventures. We all had amazing time and would (and already have) recommend this house if you're looking for a great place and a great time. Thanks for sharing your home and we hope to make it back!

  • This house is amazing! The pictures do not do it justice. It was so comfortable and cozy, but still very spacious. We spent a lot of time listening to records, playing ping pong, relaxing in the hottub, and soaking in the wonderful view. We would definitely love to come back for another visit!

It is absolutely beautiful living in the elwha valley on the elwha river looking up at the Olympic National Park
  • Beautiful location. Very prompt in responding. Room clean. Walls are very thin, can hear the other guest very easily. Only 1 restroom, which if their are other guest means you can be waiting a bit to you it.

    Jessica2017-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful location, scenic and secluded, yet less than 20 minutes from the ferry. Comfortable bed. Slightly funky, laissez-faire work-in-progress.

    Richard2017-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a nice time here. The panaromic view from the living room is surprisingly beautiful, just like the way grandma described, it's a moving picture.

  • David and his parents are kind, hospitable people, which I feel has allowed them to get good reviews up until this point. They also provide clean linens, a bowl of fruit, and free beverages, which was nice. I found the house, unfortunately, to be quite rundown and not worth the price. If you're looking for a rustic accommodation, don't care about good plumbing (the water rose several inches when I showered and the toilet was easily clogged and needed to be plunged), don't mind stained carpets, don't mind a bed that squeaks with every turn you make, and are a deep sleeper, then this place should be fine for you. If you are sensitive to smells, I would stay somewhere else. Every room I saw had a plugin air freshener, which seemed to be used to cover up a stale, odor. There was also a situation where their well had no water and I was told I was going to have to take a sponge bath with a gallon of bottled water. Thankfully, David was able to connect a reserve tank that allowed me to get a shower later in the evening. Yes, sometimes things break, but I feel this home needs to be updated and receive a deep cleaning before rooms should be rented to future guests.

  • Lovely place with scenic views. Our bed was super cosy. We also learnt more about the surrounding area and the house from our host as well. Thanks for the great stay!

  • We had a great stay at Grandma's (house although it was short). Has a feel similar to a hostel with other air BNB people staying there. Had no issues but maybe something for others to consider (is family friendly). The owner Lorna is incredibly sweet and all in all I was glad to give my money to her rather than a chain hotel. The location is incredibly beautiful. I would recommend to anyone looking for these types of accommodations!

    Kara2017-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • After a warm welcome, my host showed me all things i need to know. The house was clean, neat and the bed was cozy. This area is a silent place in the nature. Sharing the bathroom with other guests was no problem. I recommend to stay here

  • Remote and beautiful setting. View of the mountains and the river greated us when we pulled up. Gramma welcomed us in and the hospitality was great. Enjoyed chatting with the family.

Enjoy a peaceful retreat in the woods above the Elwha River, eight miles west of Port Angeles on the Olympic Peninsula. Easy access to Olympic National Park, hiking, kayaking, beaches, rain forest, mountains, the Olympic Adventure trail - and more! There is a trail from the property to the Elwha River and the Olympic Discovery Trail. You'll stay in a beautiful, custom built studio, with a wood stove, kitchen and bathroom, queen bed and pull-out couch. The window seat is cozy!
Our home is tucked in amongst large cedars and fir trees; there are flower gardens, a fire pit, and walking trails in the adjacent woods. The large studio has its own entrance, is attached to the main house but is separated by a laundry room and is quiet and private. The well-stocked kitchen has a small refrigerator, a three burner gas stovetop, a toaster oven, a microwave, coffeepot, and all the utensils you'll need. Four people sleep comfortably on a queen bed and a queen-sized pull-out sofa bed. A pool table, various games, DVDs, puzzles, and books are available for your entertainment. The TV can play movies, but is not set up for standard channels. Two very friendly golden retrievers will warmly greet you!
We are located down a gravel road with few neighbors.
  • There are so many wonderful things to say, I don't know where to start. Laura and Mark were warm and inviting hosts who really put the "BnB" in Airbnb. Upon returning from dinner the first night, Mark had lit the wood stove so that we could fall asleep by the fire. Our second day, he stopped by to offer some freshly baked bread. Meanwhile, the space itself was exactly how I had envisioned a retreat on the Olympic Penninsula: surrounded by trees and overlooking the river. Morning light poured in through generous skylights. And all around us: peace and quiet. As far as amenities, the bed was comfortable, the shower had good pressure, and the bathroom supplied a hairdryer, among other things. To sum up, I wholeheartedly recommend this airbnb!

    Linda2017-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Laura and Mark's Elwha River Studio is a great idea if you plan on visiting Olympic National Park for multiple days. Their home is very close to the North side of the park allowing you to beat the crowds that may be traveling from farther away. Laura and Mark also have great recommendations for areas in the park or Port Angeles to explore. The studio is fairly large and accommodated four people without issue. Highly recommend this location if you want to get the most out of your time in ONP without camping in the actual park!

  • We spent a lovely holiday weekend at the Elwha River Retreat. The queen bed is comfortable. The kitchen is very functional (has everything!). We were able to cook our (small) Thanksgiving weekend meals in style. The yard and view from the rental is beautiful and the space is very quiet. Laura & Mark are helpful hosts. They know a lot about the area and Olympic Park and they directed us to several different nearby running and biking trails. Great rental!

  • Laura and Mark are amazing hosts! They are very friendly, helpful and go out of their way to make your stay special. We loved the room; it was well-equipped with everything we needed and had a warm, welcoming feel. It felt very private, and the view was beautiful! I enjoyed the peaceful mornings there drinking my coffee and savoring the gorgeous view. We LOVED our stay and hope to go back some day!

  • Laura & Mark's scenic and secluded home was lovely and thoroughly enjoyable. The space was very well equipped and we enjoyed our stay immensely. We were able to relax with such a lovely, and built a fire in the fireplace each night. There were two types of BBQ's that we used to cook delicious meals. We recommend Laura & Mark's place to anyone looking to relax and refresh. Thank you very much for a lovely stay! Best, David & Marija

  • This house was amazing! Secluded enough to feel cozy and romantic, but an easy drive to town and nearby hikes! Laura was super accommodating and supplied us with tons of knowledge of outdoor attractions and things to do nearby. We had such a wonderful time and hope to come back again :)

  • Sweet attached apartment to a custom built house with private entrance. Quite space, well appointed guest space with friendly dogs. Mark & Laura are very friendly & nice host, trying very hard to provide an enjoyable stay. Perfect location to ride bikes and explore the Elwha river, river mouth down Place road, local surf spot. Salt Creek Park has excellent tide pools on low tide. Will visit next summer.

This home is located on a working farm. The home is cozy with gorgeous valley views. We have a full house with an attached covered porch with furniture. We have a small herd of cattle, turkeys, chickens, horses and a family dog and cat. The animals are available for viewing with the owners. Sorry the horses are privately owned and not available to ride.
We are located on an active working farm with an equine center, rolling hills, valley views and within close proximity to the Olympic Discovery Trail. We are within 2 miles of Freshwater Bay on the Strait of Juan de Fuca with boat launch and walking distance to Freshwater Park.
We are isolated and quiet. The farm is peaceful and serene. You can here the animals as they interact with each other. You'll wake up to fresh air, rooster crowing, horses whinny and the cattle moo. We have an endless supply of wild birds. There is not a bad view on the property. We are approx 1.5 miles from Crescent beach at Freshwater Bay, 8 miles from Camp Hayden park.
  • The location is close to Port Angeles. But it's hard to find after sunset. Make sure check-in a little bit early to avoid this. The host is a really nice couple. It's a nice experience staying in the farm house.

  • Kathy is an amazing host. She was very accommodating when I had to check in later than planned. She also showed me around the farm the next morning and it's a beautiful family owned property. The house is very spacious and clean with everything you need and a nice patio to hang out on and enjoy the view. Ralphie, their bulldog came to say hello while we were having breakfast on the porch which was an extra treat! Short drive into Olympic National Park. Would definitely recommend staying here. Thank you Kathy for being so welcoming and helpful during our stay!

  • Kathy and her family could not have been friendlier. Her home is an excellent place to stay.

  • I didn't expect much looking at the picture of the house, but it was fantastic! The location is great, 45 minutes to Hurricane Ridge, only 15 to Port Angeles. Three full bedrooms, great living room and a full kitchen!

  • Kathy's place is beautiful. Very peaceful and spacious. We were there for only one night but sorry not to have book it for longer. Kathy was very welcoming and helpful and the house is very clean with everything you need when you are away from home.

    Magda2017-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great location right outside Olympic National Park. House was very clean and it was great to have a tour of the farm. Very friendly and responded quickly to any questions.

    Warren2017-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay if you are visiting Olympic National Park. It's centrally located and is easy to get to and from during your journey through the park. Kathy and her husband were quick to respond and super sweet. The farm animals were the best, it was a great experience for this city girl. Would definitely recommend this spot to anyone looking for a clean and comfortable place to stay while in Port Angeles.

    Caitlin2017-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Kathy's place is a large three bedroom home behind the main house on a working farm. We appreciated the extra space, and enjoyed having our breakfast on the deck outside. Kathy's place is convenient when visiting Hurricane Ridge and the Crescent Lake areas of the national park. There are no stores or restaurants in the immediate area, so you have to plan ahead, but Port Angeles is only about 15 minutes away. Communication with Kathy was quick, and check in and check out were easy.

This is a cozy and relaxing country cabin in Port Angeles, Washington. An easy 5 minutes from the main part of town and the ferry to Victoria, Canada. The cabin sleeps 2-3 people. Great for a couple but has a loft which could accommodate another sleeping zone. The cabin is situated on 5 acres and borders the natural forest. The owners also live on the property and it is a family environment fitting for kids. Complete kitchen and bathroom. There is wireless internet access possible if the need arises. Oh yea, and we are dog friendly , but we do ask that dog owners do their best to clean up after their pet and prevent the dog from damaging the property in any way. We have a 8year old Malamute that lives on the property and she is as friendly as they come and great with kids. One of the great things about this cabin is that even with the close location the heart of Port Angeles, you are still set in a country like environment with meadows, deer, eagles and surrounding mountains. Olympic National park and Hurricane Ridge are easy access We are also 5 minutes from the local airport. 15 minutes from Lake Crescent, 1 hour to the "Twilight" capital of Forks and 30 minutes from Sequim. A great location for those just coming to the area and starting to explore all of the natural bounty that the beautiful Olympic peninsula has to offer. And as an additional option , if you have extra people in your group that we have camping available as well for $15 a night. From June 1 - Sept 1. We require a 2 day minimum, but for last minute reservations this can be negotiated if there is availability.
  • The listing description was very accurate, and the neighborhood was quiet/rural and felt very safe. We had limited interaction with the hosts, but they made it easy for us to get into the cabin when we arrived.

    Jennifer2015-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • The experiencte at the cottage was very nice - I would definitely stay again. Scott was a fantastic host, and a pleasure to meet. There is a fire pit in the back acreage where you can relax in the evening and enjoy the peaceful environment out of the noise of the town and far enough from the 101 that you hear no noise, but close enough that you can pop down to the store if you want to pick anything up.

    karl2014-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • Scott and Natalie were friendly and helpful in showing us their place. We enjoyed their offer of fresh lettuce from the garden. The description was accurate. While we didn't sleep in the loft, it was a cozy reading spot. The rural setting with a barn, teepee and hammock forest behind is peaceful. We found this location just a few miles West of Port Angeles a good location to explore Olympic National Park.

    Armin2015-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • LOVED staying here! We met up with Natalie when we came to check-in, and she was very friendly and helpful. We also got to spend a little quality time with the kitten that roams their property. (: The cabin was very cozy and was a perfect place to stay after a couple days of driving and hiking. If we ever come back to Port Angeles (which we most likely will), I would definitely stay here again!

    Anna2015-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Scott and Natalie were relaxed and welcoming. We felt at ease in their cabin with all the necessary items for a cozy evening. I requested a radio and he brought over his boom box, so we could have music with our wine. Walking through the neighborhood just before dark was very nice. We’d never stayed in the “countryside” before and felt very much at home.

    Paulla2014-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • Scott and Natalie's space was quiet, quaint and above all beautiful. The cabin was well equipped and was the getaway my girlfriend and I were looking for. Would highly recommend this space to anyone looking for a nice weekend away from it all.

    Joshua2013-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • A clean, convenient, private spot, definitely in a good location for visiting Port Angeles and Hurricane Ridge. All the basics for breakfast preparation were provided, from coffee maker even to a jar of jam. The deck was a really lovely spot to sit out in the morning or evening. Worked well for two people sleeping in separate beds (my mother and mother-in-law). The proprietors struck a nice balance between friendliness and giving guests their space.

    Ariel2014-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • This little cabin is perfect! It has every cooking utensil that you need, the space is perfect for two, and the tub was wonderful to relax in after a long day of hiking! Scott was so nice, and even brought us over some fantastic coffee! Being coffee lovers, we were in heaven! What's nice touch. The central location made it perfect to grab a bite to eat in town, or take a short drive into Olympic NP! Fantastic stay!

Nestled on the bank of Lake Sutherland, this private and comfortable, 600 square foot cabin is located on the sunny north shore, along Highway 101. The fishing and trout theme for this cabin fits perfectly as the lake is abundant for fishing.

It is for the heart healthy and the healthy at heart. Not handicap accessible **

This location is 10 minutes away from the Olympic National Park, 40 minutes from Forks, WA., home of Twilight books and movies and a ferry ride to British Columbia, Canada.
  • The accommodations were just beautiful. Tammy did an amazing job of arranging the cabin in such a way that everything felt easily accessible and comfortable, even cozy, which I suppose shouldn't be too big a surprise given its name. I couldn't recommend the place more highly, and definitely plan to come back at some point during the summer months (though in all honesty, you can't get much cozier than the sound of rain on the roof of a lake-side cabin).

    Matt2014-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • This cozy cabin was perfect for our trip to the Olympic National Park area! Tammy was super easy to communicate with and it was a super easy check in! Leaving our car at the bus stop was no problem and the walk down to the cabin was scenic yet very steep! Not a problem for us and it was so worth it for the beautiful view of the lake! The house was cozy, clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for our stay. I would highly recommend this place to others and we are already planning our return!

    Ashley and Jordan2016-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Tammy's Cozy Cabin. The setting was incredibly beautiful and the cabin was comfortable and had everythin we needed. Tammy was very helpful and friendly. We would definitely return.

    Victoria2015-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy Cabin was.....cozy. This short stay was the highlight of my long trip. Everything was perfect. The cabin was en route for my trip. It was nice to not even detour a block from the 101, but still be removed from the road enough to be in your own world. This convenience was amazing. What isn't captured in the photos of the Cozy Cabin is that you are surrounded by the Olympic peaks, the lake is nestled by spectacular mountain vistas, and the cabin is nestled in a perfect private nook on the shore of Lake Sutherland. The cabin, and all amenities, were ideal. The bed was the most comfortable of my trip, topping 5 hotels....but my favorite was the outdoor fire pit. A nice fire, in this perfect setting, was something that no 5 star hotel could come close to matching.

    James2014-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was just as expected and so much more. It was truly perfect. The cabin was very clean with the music on when we arrived we felt like we were walking into paradise. There is a steep climb down to the cabin but not bad and we were a little nervous to leave our car on the highway but it was fine. I loved having coffee and breakfast off the lookout perch, over the dock. It was hard to leave to do the other things we had planned because it was justso breathtaking! The private dock and use of the kayak was amazing. We also loved using the fire pit and having a few beers outside looking over the lake. Best place hands down to stay while exploring the Olympic Penninsula. My husband and I have already talked about coming back for our anniversary. Wish we had more time we could have spent there!!

    Teddy2016-05-20T00:00:00Z

Peaceful, serene, quiet, relaxing. We are located on 15 acres just west of the Elwha River, with 5 acres of natural forest and trails. Salt Creek and a beautiful pond are just 30 feet from your front door. Our pond has trout (catch & release), a picnic area and fire pit, and a play jungle gym for kids. With its own private entrance, the 1,100 sq ft suite has: two bedrooms with queen size beds, a spacious living room with fireplace, 55" TV and dvd player (no cable) and kitchen.
Blacktail deer walk the forest trails, hence the name, Blacktail Trail. You can watch for bald eagles, blue heron, ducks and geese which visit our pond. Also you can watch for other wild life that find Salt Creek to be a sanctuary, including native cut-throat trout. At times salmon spawn up Salt Creek in Nov. and Dec. which is amazing to watch. Catch and Release fishing is permitted at our pond with certain stipulations. Fly fishing is preferred. Tim will explain the rules, rod and reel can be supplied. Catch and Keep can also be arranged with Tim, before fishing, if you would like fresh trout for dinner. Our location has easy access to: the ferry to Victoria, Canada, Marymere Falls, Lake Crescent, Hurricane Ridge (Olympic Mountain Range), Olympic Game Farm, Sol Duc Hot Springs, the Hoh Rain Forest, beaches and tide pools, salt and freshwater fishing, kayaking, surfing, climbing, many hiking/biking trails including The Discovery Trail; all that the Olympic Peninsula has to offer. During the winter, it is easy access to ski (Hurricane Ridge), hunt, and all of the above. In cooler weather, cozy up to the fireplace (wood included) and read, play cards or do a puzzle.
The neighborhood consists of trees, forest animals and fish.
  • Tim and Star went above and beyond all expectations as AirBnB hosts. They made us feel truly at home and were kind, welcoming, and accommodating. Although we were at Olympic National Park until late for the days we stayed, we really enjoyed getting to know them during the times we crossed paths. Their home is on several acres conveniently located about 15 minutes from Port Angeles and central to the various national park entrances. The basement is used as the AirBnB space and both beds were comfortable, the living room had a large TV and leather sofas, and the kitchen was fully stocked with various breakfast items. On their property there is a pond, hiking trail, and other activities, so this would also be a great option for families with children. If you're looking at staying in the Port Angeles area, or are planning a trip to Olympic National Park, I can't recommend Tim and Star's AirBnB enough.

    Michael2017-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is the second time that we visited Tim and Star's house. Thanks for sharing the great place. The boys like fishing there and they fished a lot and let those fish go. And I made a wonderful salad with the vegetables planted in the (URL HIDDEN) was a great place to ran away from city and family vacation.

    Jessica2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • If we could give Tim and Star a 10 star review, we would. Where do I begin? First off, when you get to the property (which js just beautiful!!), you are greeted by both Tim and Star, who are some of the nicest, down to earth, and friendliest people we have ever met. They are beyond excellent hosts, and really make you feel at home. Tim started a fire for us down by their pond, where my husband and I could sit and feed the fish, stay warm, and look up at the stars when it would get dark out (their property sits on over 5 acres and is the perfect setting for "getting away from it all"). It's about a 20 minute drive into the town of Port Angeles, and the location was the perfect launching pad for our explorations in Olympic National Park (ie, 2 hour drive to Hoh Rainforest, 55 min to Hurricane Ridge). We were just over the moon when we saw they had left us a dozen eggs from their own chickens to enjoy during our stay! And they let us pick raspberries and tomatoes from their garden, which made our morning breakfasts that much more special (and convenient!). We couldn't have asked for more, and would definitely stay again if we are back in the area.

    Cristina2017-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Tim and Star were wonderful hosts going above and beyond what was expected. Their property is beautiful! We even found berries and tomatoes from their garden at our door!

    Joan2017-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Tim and Star are wonderful giving hosts, full of hospitality. Beautful scenery, pleasant and quiet, but great for kids with small playground and pond stocked with trout the kids can feed. Firepit, breakfast accomodations. If you want a praceful connection with nature and wo derful people, this is the place.

    Joe2017-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first experience using Airbnb and, honest to goodness, it could not have been any better. It was delightful and picturesque and Tim and Star were the perfect hosts. I would absolutely recommend them and wish them all the best!

    Mariah2017-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • We could not have loved our stay with Tim and Star more. The location was perfect for day hiking in Olympic. With how large the park is we were nervous in selecting a location that would allow us to see mountains, forrests, rivers, and the coast - Tim and Star's place was perfect on all counts. They were incredibly accommodating, approachable, and helpful with tips for the town as well as the park.

    Amy2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • This is a unique spot. A bit of a drive from the energy in Port Angeles, and the decor has a lot of taxidermy, but Tim and Starr are really eager and gracious hosts and kept us in their own home-grown raspberries, sugar snaps, lettuce, and eggs from their own chickens... Especially if you're looking for a place to sit and relax, this is a good find.

  • We absolutely LOVED Tommy's place. The location was perfect for all our adventures in the Olympic Nat'l Park. Tommy was super attentive to all our questions and available when we needed him. Will definitely come back!!

  • We had a wonderful time! House was perfect for us and it was only a few hours from the HOH and Ruby Beach (this was our main destination.) Tommy was really helpful and responsive which made the trip seamless.

  • One of the best cabins I have ever stayed in. Nestled just off the road, this cabin is super private and has a great view of the lake. Would love to come back and stay longer!

    Alex2017-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • This beautiful property was a great launching point to local peninsula attractions. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and Tommy's expert knowledge of the Olympic Park was an added bonus.

    Richard2016-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great cabin and perfect description of all parts. Tommy is a great host who answered all my questions almost immediately. Great location to visit the North end of Mount Olympic and surrounding areas. We really enjoyed the cabin.

    David2017-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Tommy exceeded all of my party's expectations. The home has a fantastic view of lake Sutherland and the Olympic mountains. It is also easy to get to and a great location between Port Angeles and the western tip of the peninsula. Our next trip back to the OP we will be staying here again.

    Richard2016-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great house in a great location. Tommy was really helpful at check-in, and in suggesting good day hikes. Highly recommended.

  • Great place. My whole family was here for a week exploring the national park, and this was the perfect location. It had plenty of room, a great kitchen, and was the perfect jumping-off place for hiking.

Come stay in our newly renovated 1974 , 25 foot Vintage Airstream trailer. We have gone thru this beautiful piece of American history and outfitted it with lots of new features to compliment the original layout. The Airstream has 2 separate sleeping quarters and could accommodate up to 4 people if needed. Ideally , it is probably more comfortable for 2-3 people , but with the spacious decking just outside of the door, the usable area is quite expansive. The Airstream is very private and is situated on a tucked away corner on our 5 acre property. There a all the necessary appliances on board, 4 burner stovetop, oven , refrigerator, stereo system, toaster, Electric hotpot and french press coffee maker. RV style flushing toilet and a good shower. Campfires are available just outside of your doorstep. The Airstream is located just on the outskirts of Port Angeles, Washington, right at the Gateway to the Olympic National Park. We are 35 minutes from Hurricane ridge and 15 minutes from Lake Crescent and a short 5 minutes to the heart of downtown Port Angles and the Ferry to Victoria , BC, Canada. Feel free to look at our other listing which is our cabin on the same property. Here is the link , https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/1331452 , and this can give you an idea of some of the feedback that our cabin guests have given related to our location and our standard of service and satisfaction. We offer both to our Air BNB guests, and we enjoy hosting travelers to our beautiful town.
The property is on a dead end road bordering forest and moutains. Very peaceful and private and a short 5 minute drive to the heart of Port Angeles. The owners also live on the property and it is a family environment fitting for kids. One of the great things about this Airstream is that even with the close location the heart of Port Angeles, you are still set in a country like environment with meadows, deer, eagles and surrounding mountains.
  • The trailer is very cool-- lots of fun details to check out. It's also extremely convenient to Port Angeles and amazing hiking in the park. The second night we stayed was after a long, soggy day hike and were thrilled to come back to a warm, dry place. Natalie was very communicative, welcoming, and easy to coordinate with. The bed was surprisingly comfortable, and I especially appreciated the french press for coffee. All this said, it's a trailer-- a really nice, renovated, clean trailer but still a trailer. As long as you come expecting that and not a fancy hotel, you will love staying here. We would love to come back.

    Kate2015-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • This was a wonderful and unique experience. Scott was not available the weekend we stayed, but he had a friend house sit and check on us in the evening. The Airstream was cozy, confortable, even had a working original radio and was stocked with period amenities. It took a little getting used to for a taller guy (I'm 6'1") but at the end of the day it wasn't a major issue and we had a great stay.

    Mark2015-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • Natalie was a very kind host - she met us when we arrived and was very welcoming. The Airstream itself was a bit more quirky than we expected, and we did find it to be frustrating here and there. While the Airstream was not quite as secluded as it sounded, the property location was very convenient for visiting the peninsula. We enjoyed local donuts and coffee as well as the beauty of the national park.

    Jessica2016-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • Natalie and Scott were great hosts. As first time Air bnb'ers - they've exceeded our expectations. The space was everything as described, the location was great for getting into town or getting to many great outdoor locations e.g. Olympic National Park, the coast, etc. Natalie even recommended a great place for a slice of pizza in Port Angeles, called the Strait Slice. Which if you can make the time, do it! The Vintage Airstream was definitely a great place to set up and stay and explore all that this area has to offer. Thanks again!

    Brett2016-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • The host canceled this reservation 3 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.

    Ryan2017-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I absolutely loved staying in the Vintage Airstream. Natalie was so helpful and warm, while Maya was a perfect dog-host. The Airstream helped shape our memory of the stunning peninsula -- it was fun, quirky, but clean and comfortable.

    Rebecca2016-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • Natalie and Scott's Airstream was wonderful. Natalie took the time to explain all the functions and made sure we were comfortable before she left. The Airstream was comfortable and had everything we needed. Maya was a great addition. If there was no fire ban, the deck would have also been fantastic at night.

    Christina2017-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Staying in the airstream was a fun experience. The trailer definitely has some quirks and things to get used to, but overall, it was a pleasant stay. My only area of feedback is with the price per night. It is little high for what it is; a trailer in someone's backyard. That said, we would do it again. Created great memories and spent the weekend in the most beautiful part of WA.

  • Amazing place for my family. So thankful for Chantelle and her beautiful place. A great refuge and recommend highly!

    Phaidra2017-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • Our family of five stayed here as our jumping off point into the park. The house is beautiful and cozy. The three bedrooms were more than enough for us and my three children loved the unique triple bunk beds. Our hosts left a drawer stocked for s'mores and an abundance of coffee, tea or espresso capabilities. The kitchen is well equipped and there is a nice working grill on the deck. The lake is beautiful and we enjoyed a rest day jumping into it and using the kayaks (there are three for guests to borrow). The lake is close to Port Angeles and some great restaurants, including Granny's Cafe which was a surprisingly lovely spot. They had great salads and sandwiches and the best staff.

    Rachael2017-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • The pictures don't do the house and location justice! A charming home on a beautiful and quiet lake. Our family enjoyed it so much that we extended our stay an additional 2 nights! Good proximity to Olympic National Park. Kitchen was very well equipped. Beds were very comfortable. Living room with fireplace and great porch and gas grill. House has 3 kayaks which we used to go around the lake. Such a great break from NYC!

  • A piece of paradise! Period!

    Brian2017-05-21T00:00:00Z

    Linda2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Chantelle's place is great! Easy to get to and close to Port Angeles for great eats, groceries, and events. Also very close to Olympic National Park. Lake Sutherland is a very beautiful lake. When we were there, it was incredibly peaceful and calm. Inside the home, there were plenty of amenities to make our stay great.

    Charlie2017-09-25T00:00:00Z

  • We had a fabulous time at this home! We were welcomed with a personalized sign and the house was the perfect size for 3 couples! We had a fire both nights and even made it down to the beach following directions left! Communication was great and we were able to get in early! Everyone in my group was thrilled with the Airbnb!!

  • James was readily available through email; he accommodated our arrival, and came over to greet us later in the evening. The house was spacious, and the outdoor living area quite lovely with firepit, heater, and chairs. In a secluded country setting, It is convenient to the Olympic National Forest and Port Angeles.

    anita2016-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • The place was great. My kids and wife loved it. Everything was clean, the kitchen had everything you may need. My younger kid loved visiting the hens in the morning. Pretty close to the beach too (1.5 miles). Even if you don't plan staying there the whole time it is really close to other great places in the Olympic peninsula. We drove to lake crescent and la push from there.

    Alan2016-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed here with 7 people over the weekend and had a great time! House is cute and very clean. Beds were comfortable and the kitchen was super well stocked. We ordered breakfast from James which was delicious and a lot of food. Great place and location to stay on the Olympic peninsula.

    Julie2017-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great, spacious home in a beautiful location right near the beach and within a short drive of amazing hiking trails.

    Clay2017-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a most lovely stay at Elwha River Getaway. The house was spacious, clean with very good beds. The kitchen had everything you needed and you could use both the living room or the terrass for your meals. The garden is fantastic and we enjoyed the sound of the hens picking around. We and the kids had a terrific time exploring the coastline, ridges and the huge forest surrounding the house. The Peninsula is very beautiful. We felt most welcomed by our hosts Amber and James Starr. Cecilia and Gustav

    cecilia2016-06-27T00:00:00Z

    Patricia2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Having stayed at many wonderful Airbnbs around the country, James' Elway home is my new favorite getaway. The house is tastefully decorated with wood from the surrounding area and has everything you could need (and more). James' kitchen is incredibly well stocked with great cookware, spices, and good tea/coffee. The bathrooms each have a great hairdryer and amenities. The beds are super comfy, and the lounging areas are well-appointed with great views. Best of all, the outdoor patio has a fire pit with views of the Olympic Mountains and two really friendly goats. The location of the Airbnb is perfect for access to Crescent Lake or the nearby beach. We walked along the nature trail by the house without even getting in our car! James himself is a really thoughtful and fun guy. We had dinner together one night and he was the 'honorary girl' at our ladies weekend. We'll be back with our families! It's a great place for young and old alike.

The cottages themselves are close together but with the trees still relatively private. The attention to detail is amazing. I was very pleasantly surprised - this was a much needed get away and was perfect.
