  • Amazing, amazing experience!!! The island is beautiful, the views spectacular, and the low impact housing that Liz and Andy have built is wonderful; very comfortable and finished with beautiful touches - like the driftwood reclaimed to make the stair railings. Andy and Liz were very helpful and friendly, and the dinners they cooked were delicious, and tailored to our preferences. Superb! The food provided by them for other meals is plentiful and varied. The main house is beautifully built and very comfortable and spacious, but the tent was the highlight for us - spectacular views and isolation with the only noisy neighbours being seals playing the sea below! We had fun swimming, SUP'ing and kayaking in the secluded bay; nice and calm for newbie kayakers like us. We cannot recommend too highly, we just had a fantastic time! AMAZING!

  • LIz and Andy are the most caring and comforting people to be around. Thank you again for making woodsman our of boys. Cheers and can't wait to see you all again. V

  • Liz and Andy were incredibly helpful and communicative throughout the planning process of getting "Out There"; it made logistics much easier than I had anticipated. The island is beautiful and relaxing--exactly as the listing describes! Accommodations (2 rooms in the main house + 1 yurt by the waterfront) were clean, well-kept and super comfortable. Oysters and clams are abundant, and fishing from a rowboat was fruitful. Liz and Andy were considerate hosts whom gave our group more than enough time to ourselves while still being available for anything we needed. It was a pleasure getting to know them both. Oh, and they are INCREDIBLE cooks...our group had some of the best meals of our lives (fish tacos, for example, were bar none the best I've had).

  • I don't want to share this place, in a good (URL HIDDEN) was beyond expectations! Andy and Liz were so helpful, their place was spectacular and the food was delicious! A great place to get away from it all and relax. The views are beautiful!

  • Wow, a little slice of island paradise! We loved staying with Andy and Liz. They have created a magical, serene low impact retreat - the perfect place to get away from it all. The meals they cooked for us were some of the best we had on our whole trip. We only wish we could have stayed longer! Thanks for a great stay.

    Lizzie2017-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Beautifully crafted eco-home - a little piece of paradise! The views were spectacular, the food was delicious and Andy & Liz were friendly and inspiring. 5 stars *****

  • A truly magical experience once again. I stayed here for my first time three years ago and haven't missed a visit since. This place holds a very special place in my heart and Andy and Liz put so much love into everything they do here. Hearing the sound of the seals slapping their tails on the water and tasting the taste of fresh clam chowder made from the clams you picked up off the beach earlier that morning, honestly.. nothing beats this place.

    Kayla2017-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • It is always such an honour to share this wonderful slice of heaven with friends. Liz and Andy's hospitality is second to none. #yurtlife #woodsman8

Strongwater has 8 sleeping cabins across from the trailhead leading to the famous Skookumchuck Narrows. Comfortable beds, private decks, small fridges & with common restrooms/showers (no cooking facilities). Get away from tv's, phones and traffic!
  • We loved our stay at these cabins. Ours was tree fort style which was private, relaxing, comfortable with a relaxing view. Cabin was clean, soft sheets, comfortable bed and cozy deck chairs. Bathroom/shower directly below, which were new, clean and impressive for camping community restrooms. Short walk to pub or restaurant with great food and incredible view. Also short walk to stunning lake with the warmest temperature water for swimming. We will absolutely stay here in the future! It was the perfect unplugged getaway spot.

    Laurie2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Both Cheyenne and Dwayne took the time to welcome us (and our scared dog) to Strongwater right away, and they made sure we were acquainted enough to find everything. Our cabin was lovely, very comfortable, and well situated; it felt enough apart for privacy even knowing there were other people onsite. Everything was neat, clean, tidy, and well thought-out. The setting was great, and the care put into the cabins & the facilities was very appreciated. Refreshing and recommended!

    Catharine2016-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was clean and cozy, perfect for a little getaway for 2! Cheyenne was great at responding quickly to questions and we were greeted and given the tour right upon arrival. It was a great way to kick off summer and super close to a great little hike.

    Michelle2016-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, comfortable cabin. Hassle free stay, definitely recommended.

    Drew2016-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful area, lovely people and perfect accommodation. I would definitely visit again.

    David2016-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Cheyenne and Dwayne are two of the loveliest, kindest, most interesting and welcoming people we have ever met! The cabin was lovely and cosy, the bed was huge and we had everything we needed! The toilet/ shower block is one of the nicest I've ever used! On site, there are beautiful little wooden cabins, creations and creative details dotted around the place. There's a fantastic sense of community at the site, which we felt welcomed into instantly. Cheyenne gave us some great tips on places to visit in Egmont and in the local area, and we spent a lovely afternoon by the lake (5 min walk up the road) swimming and canoeing. In the morning we visited Skookumchuk Bakery nestled away in the forest, which was AMAZING! The whole experience was fantastic, Egmont is such a lovely place with a great community. Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a lovely little adventure to get away from it all and soak up some of the great outdoors! Thanks so much Cheyenne and Dwayne - We'd love to come back one day!

Paddlers come from around the world to ride the standing waves of the Skookumchuk rapids and to explore west coast nature at its most magnificent. Guests to our cozy older home will appreciate the spectacular view over the west coast's fastest running tidal waters. You can watch the tides from our dock or our deck and when the Chuck is paddle ready - launch your craft. There's only one way to reach this property - by water. You will need your own kayak or boat to get here.
This is one of the few spots on the Sechelt Inlet from which you can view the Chuck. The village of Egmont and amenities such as the Back Eddy Pub and the restaurant at the West Coast Wilderness Lodge are a short paddle across the inlet.
Our property is on the far side of the Sechelt Inlet, directly across from the village of Egmont. It is water access only and a short paddle. The setting is spectacular. Our home looks up the Sechelt Inlet and right into the narrows where you can see the when the Chuck is paddle ready.

Private lushly treed yard minutes from the world famous Skookumchuck Rapids trailhead and steps away from public boat launch to Jarvis Inlet. Paddle boarding, kayaking, fishing, beachcombing and any ocean adventure you desire. So many great outdoor adventures awaiting you with our cozy home base waiting for you after a long day checking off bucket list items! With a lack of light pollution get ready to see more stars than you can imagine.
Our Camping spot is perfectly placed in the center of our quiet town but surrounded by mature fruit and cedar trees to make for a very private area. We provide the tent with the option of a second tent for an extra charge. We can also recommend some great day tours and trips that will really make your stay an adventure to remember.
Egmont is an extremely popular destination when visiting the Sunshine Coast. The Skookumchuck Narrows is a world class easy/moderate hike that rewards viewers with stunning views of tidal rapids and occasional white water kayakers. Great local fishing for Cod, Salmon, clams and oysters (fishing license required) as well as spotting occasional killer whales or humpback whales and our large local seal, sea lion and eagle population. So many great photo ops! If the timing is right you may also see incredible phosphorescence in our ocean. It's like underwater fireworks.
  • Such a cute yard to hang out in! It's so quiet at night, and much more secluded than being in a public campground - you have your own of everything, plus a great hammock to lounge in. It's in a great spot, too - the marina/store/ice cream/rapids are all a short walk away. Thanks for sharing your space with us, Dawn!

    Michelle2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • The best backyard to camp in in all of Egmont!

    Tristan2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Camping in Dawn's private back yard was way better than camping at the local camping facilities because when evening came it was so quiet, and we had extra amenities that campgrounds don't offer. The location was perfect because it was close to everything. Once we parked our car, we walked to watch the tidal flow, and walked when we went out to dinner. The next time we stay at Dawn's we will probably cook our food there, everything is made easy. Thank you Dawn for the opportunity to camp at your place. It's a no-brainer, we will be staying with you again.

Your privacy is important and respected. The small and cozy main cabin has a large view deck, ample seating, BBQ, fully equipped kitchen, private bedroom with a double bed, living room with a large L-shaped sofa which creates two single beds by simply removing the back cushions. You feel like you are in a tree house without having to climb the tree! This cute little cottage has a queen log bed and a ladder takes you to the small loft above. The loft has a double and a single foam mattress with enough room to sit, but not stand. It has a fantastic bird's eye view and a sky light. It has an outhouse and a rustic outdoor sink to make you feel part of the surrounding nature, but just down the stairs you have access to the indoor bathroom of the main cabin.
The cottages are located on North Lake, a small quiet lake. Only about 20 cottages are on the lake with most of the lake being surrounded by trees and park. Cottages are nestled in the forest. Enjoy yourselves, laugh, have fun, listen to music and relax, but please respect that people are there for the serenity and quiet! The lake is clean and it provides community drinking water so please don't use soap or shampoos in the lake. No motors are allowed but you are welcome to bring any lake equipment you like to use. The canoe, kayaks and paddle board is yours to use for free!
  • My kids, and my wife and i had a great time. Meals on the deck. Swimming off the dock. Fantastic!

    Marc2017-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • This place is fantastic and clearly well loved. It has a wonderful quirky cottage vibe, and yet unlike most cottages I've been to, the appliances still work fine! The place was clean and ready for us, and our hosts went the extra mile to set us up with a Thanksgiving table for the weekend we arrived on. All in all I would 100% recommend this place. And the misty lake is just beautiful in the early morning.

    Max2017-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Lynn's place for a week with some friends and our 18 month old daughter. The cottage is very beautiful, with a superbe view on the lake from the terrace. We loved everything of it: the family pictures hanging from the wall, the detailed instructions and attentive communication, the amazing woodwork, the absence of internet and mobile phones network, the light, the peace of the warm Northern Lake, the canoe and the kayaks, really everything! The house is fully equipped with anything you may need, and Lynn invited us to use food and anything else we found there - it was really great! For a foreigner like me it was a great way to experience a real Canadian experience in my husband's personal province, but also our Canadian friends loved every single bit of it. I couldn't recommend this place and the Sunshine Coast more warmly - it's astonishingly beautiful and great for the soul!

    Daniela2017-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • This place is absolutely amazing and relaxing. Great location and such a lovely cabin on the lake. Can't wait to return.

    Jamie2017-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • My best AirBnB experience to date. Lynne's cabin is a cozy little retreat nestled above a stunning lake. The dock, complete with kayaks and canoe were the highlight for me and my kids. We swam and paddled around all day long, then would BBQ on the gigantic deck in the evenings. The Cabin itself is fairly basic but clean, comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. Lynne was more than helpful and a great host, making sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend this place. (But kinda want to keep it a secret)

  • This place is incredible. I booked a couple of nights as a surprise for my boyfriend's birthday - if you could have seen the look on his face it would describe what words cannot! The food was amazing, cooked oysters for the first time, tried paddle boarding for the first time and just relaxed! Thanks Andy and Liz, you were great hosts. I REALLY hope we can come back!!

    Esme2016-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Andy and Liz welcomed our family into their little bit of heaven, paradise to be exact, with open arms. Their architecture compliments the sacredness of the land, their creativity affords their guests the best of pleasures. Our room, the four wall tent, suspended over the ocean, but secured to rock provided us with everything I could have wanted. Morning sunrise vistas right from my pillow, snorkeling off the rocks below and the rocks warming our bodies after a morning swim. Hot tea and coffee from a kettle brewed on a unique hot plate. Banos and a wash-basin that respected the environment complete with a portal window overlooking the sea. Liz and Andy were helpful, friendly and caring. They happily accommodated our diverse dietary needs, early departure schedules and a wish to watch The FIFA Women’s Soccer game. The dinners were gourmet, the desserts a culinary surprise. Our families visit to “Out There” was so good and so deeply enriching that it has stayed close in my memory days later. I am hoping to make it an annual event! Thanks Liz and Andy for such a warm welcome and great stay! Nan Kendy

  • This trip away was everything we hoped and more - the location is stunning, tucked away on a tiny island, the tent is fantastic, everything is extremely clean and well built, and Liz and Andy made us feel very welcome. They also cooked absolutely delicious food - we will definitely be trying to recreate the fish tacos when we get home!

    Bella2015-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • WOW where to begin, well for one we were greeted upon arrival with a family of orcas swimming by the deck of our beautiful tent cabin of dreams! From then on it was nothing but laughter, delicious food and so much beauty! Liz and Andy are amazing, Both my husband and i felt as if we were visiting our dear old friends on their beautiful island and not just guests at a Airbnb! Outthere offers so much more than a vacation, its a true immersive experience in what it means to live the dream!!! Its not 24 hours since we said our goodbyes and we are already planning our next visit back! We Love you Liz and Andy!!! And Nina!! (their adorable pup) cannot wait to return to paradise!

    (EMAIL HIDDEN)2015-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • Liz and Andy's retreat is a on a marvelous islet connected tidally to the larger Nelson Island. At low tide there is a strip of beach that provides an abundance of clams and oysters (the clams were delicious; oysters are not in season). The tent overlooks the calm waters of the Jervis Inlet, and the passing Saltery Bay ferry is picturesque without being intrusive. The en-tent bathroom was delightful, not least for the amazing outlook through its porthole window. We had a great time decompressing from the pace of the city and just relaxing; integral to this were the hammocks, the cozy accommodations, the boats, Nina the sweetheart dog, and the generosity of the kind and thoughtful hosts. Thanks for everything.

  • We had such a wonderful time at Liz and Andy's beautiful home! Liz and Andy were extremely welcoming and accommodating to us and our 8 month old daughter. We are so grateful that they are willing to share this special place with others. Overall, our mini-family vacation on Nelson Island was absolutely perfect. Stunning views, delicious food, fantastic hosts and comfortable beds. Thanks again Liz, Andy and Nina.

  • Hands down best hosts I've ever experienced . Fantastic food. A true slice of paradise. I really should be saying it's horrible to keep it a secret. But I think the secrets out. Best Airbnb I have EVER been to.

  • My sister and I stay at Out There for three days and the experience was amazing. Liz and Andy had built a place of its own, standing on the small hill of their private island paradise, and running it with sustainable energies like wind and solar power. All we wanted was a quiet place to chill and relax for a few days, and we got not just that, but also a warm hospitality from Liz, Andy, and fellow guests. The place is clean, comfortable, and simply amazing. It's great to be Out There!

  • Beautiful, comfortable and very hospitable host. This is also a spectacular part of BC. Well worth the day trip from Vancouver; I hope to be back one day.

  • We spent a perfect sunny and warm weekend at Indigo Cottage! My parents and I have wanted to do a trip along the Sunshine Coast for a while, and our stay here was definitely the highlight of an already lovely trip. We were greeted with a beautiful bouquet of fresh flowers and Karin left us waffles, yogurt, strawberries, and maple syrup for breakfast. The cottage is spacious and beautiful, with lots of natural light and a cozy upstairs loft, and the yard is just magical- you'll have to see it for yourself! We spent the weekend reading and relaxing, eating our meals out on the patio, walking to the pond in the yard and to Ruby Lake, and feeling so much at home. I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. We were sad to leave but we're already looking forward to the next time we'll be back!

    Shika2017-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cottage in a very relaxing, peaceful environment. The hosts are amazing people that cater to all your needs and more. A vacation we will never forget!

    Bob2017-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • This is a quaint cottage with charm and nice amenities. Not all windows that open have screens but we did manage to keep it cooler by opening the upstairs windows during the day and closing the ones facing the sun downstairs during the day. There is a very good fan, but consider bringing your own as well, especially if someone will be sleeping downstairs in the summer heat. We tried the queen size pull out bed on the main floor and the king bed in the loft. We were not at all comfortable on the pull out so as soon as it cooled off we slept upstairs. There is no microwave or dishwasher so be prepared for that. The oven does have a warming tray which was useful for some things. Hosts are very nice - we had some issues with our car and an alarm going off at home when we arrived - Karin was helpful in getting us tools and WiFi access so we could make calls. Nice selection of books and movies for all ages, but there is no TV, VCR or DVD... The location is perfect and the property is quiet and private- far enough away from any bustle, but close enough to shopping (stop in Sechelt or Pender Harbour on your way in), and outdoor recreation. We met more than a few very nice folks during our too-short stay. Ruby lake is perfect! Spent 3+ hours in the water at a stretch and never felt cold. Can't wait to come back!

    Bill2017-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the cottage was lovely. Karin greeted us with fresh flowers and was very welcome. Can't wait to visit the Sunshine Coast again.

  • Indigo cottage is a wonderful place to get relax and enjoy the beautiful nature around the Ruby lake. We got a nice welcome, Karin and Jeremy are the great host, we soon felt at home. Everything was perfect, clean and we really love the design and the details in the house.

  • Stunning place to spend a couple of days. Really a dreamy spot. Exactly what we wanted. Great place to hang out - in the garden or the house - or there is access to a small pontoon to lie out on/swim from a few mins walk away. Wish we could have stayed longer.

  • It's cozy and homey. Convenient and close to a ferry terminal for travelling up the sunshine coast. Great cafe below as well.

  • Unfortunately could not gain entry the first night, mentioned that at front when I returned the second day of my booking, charged for both nights nonetheless. Bed was comfy and place was clean. Internet did not connect/was not working. Shower door was jammed/unusable.

  • The Cove Lodge provides good, basic, clean accommodation right next to the ferry terminal. Internet worked fine for us. There is a nice big shared lounge area. You can prepare your own meals in the fully equipped kitchen but the Cove restaurant which is attached to the lodge also has great food. Sue (the owner) is very friendly and welcoming. It is a good idea to let her know what time you will be arriving so she can meet you at the Lodge.

    Tom2016-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • Location was quiet and house is clean and comfortable. Rooms are secure and well maintained. I would certainly stay here again.

  • I've stayed at a number of lake side cabins and this is the nicest place I have seen. A great house, a great property and a warm lake. I highly recommend it for family fun.

  • We had a fantastic trip to Sakinaw lake at Heather's cabin. The accommodations were clean and comfortable. We had a late arrival after 8:00pm and Heather was there to provide the keys and show us around. The dock and seating area are perfect for boats or just hanging out. The outdoor lighting at night makes the cabin really stand out. The BBQ was clean and there was even an extra little beer fridge downstairs. I would definitely recommend Heather's cabin to anyone looking for a family holiday.

    Karsten2016-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • The Sakinaw Lake Cabin was amazing!!! Heather and her husband Dave met us upon arrival and showed us all of the ins and outs of the house. Heather and Dave were fantastic from the day that we booked to the day that we checked out. They answered all of our questions and were so accommodating and kind! The lake was absolutely beautiful and the cabin has an amazing dock and water slide as well as kayaks and a canoe to adventure around the lake! Overall, our stay at the cabin was an absolute dream and I would recommend to anyone that needs a quiet getaway or relaxing vacation. Definitely stay at the Sakinaw lake cabin!!!!

  • Cabins are super cozy and clean. We loved Cabin #1, very private and comfortable. The nearby bakery/cafe was an added bonus! Campgrounds are in a pretty remote location but close enough to Ruby Lake and other towns if you want to venture out. You can tell that owners Cheyenne and Dwayne go out of their way to make your stay best as can be. We had a great time and will definitely be back!

  • The best weekend of 2017! Me and my girlfriend got one of the cabins for a whole weekend and had the best time while in there! The place is super clean, cozy and it's a great get away for those who want to get away from big cities! Bathrooms and showers are clean and very modern ! The place is close to lots of cool hikes and nature. Cheyenne and Dwayne made sure we were comfortable and were very helpful on every request we had! They even gave us some fresh eggs from their lovely free range chickens. We can't wait to come back and we highly recommend Cheyenne's place to all Airbnb community !

  • This place was awesome, just what we needed for a getaway. Cabin one is great, one night we had a critter trying to get in at 5am, but he/she finally left and we went back to sleep lol, It was a nice cabin, central to the trails, the pub, ocean just a good time. Cheyenne and partner were a blast, loved the sense of humor. My only thing I have to say, "ladies bring a bucket for night time pee trips" lol:) Great trip go back in a heart beat.

  • We were made to feel right at home the moment we arrived. Really sweet cabins at the end of a 1h beautiful twisty ride up the sunshine coast from the Langdale Ferry. Beautiful property with free running chickens, camp sights, and numerous cabins. Amenities nearby in Maderia Park or in the hamlet of Egmont. Showers are available by coin, otherwise showers/ bathroom was clean and available. Go for the rapids, stay for the skinny dip in the nearby lake. Oh.. there's a canoe to use, 1st come 1st served for the paddles.

    Jill2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was lovely. Everything was clean and nice. The only issue was with our departure. We stayed only for one night, as we were doing a bike trip around the Sunshine coast. I was exhausted (we biked from Vancouver), so we asked Cheyenne to take us the next day to the ferry (we had to catch the ferry at 6:30 am so we could make it reasonably on time for the next one to Comox), it is only a 6 km ride to the ferry but there are some steep climbs on the road. We were scheduled to meet up at 6 - 6:10 am but they didn't show up even though we tried to knock loudly and wake them.

  • Incredible place, incredible food, and incredible people. This is a hidden gem and photos will never do it any justice. What Any and Liz have done on this Island is mind blowing, it was like an Eco Architectural Disneyland. This is the kind of place you see on Grand (URL HIDDEN) will not surprise me when we see them one day on the show! Felt like we were in a tropical paradise. Had some great chats and fun with them and all the guests, especially playing doodle pix board game together..even though I always seem to get 'shafted' with the bonus points! I will cherished all these memories :) Stop looking for a place to stay and BOOK IT NOW before someone else gets there before you. Simply the best AIrbnb we have ever stayed. Without a doubt will be back.

  • Andy and Liz are very kind hearted and friendly people. Their property is amazingly beautiful and the yurt is so cozy and inviting! Their collection of books and games provided us with hours of entertainment to relax with during the rainy weather, and the island was neat to explore in the nicer weather. The evening meals were delicious and they went above and beyond in adapting for dietary restrictions. I promise you will be wishing your stay was longer when you're leaving the island and gazing back at it on the boat!

    Sara2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Andy and Liz are awesome and their paradise in the middle of the ocean is the perfect place to unwind and relax. Make sure you listen to their stories because they will inspire you

    Keding2015-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • This place is idyllic! Me and two friends rented the two rooms in the yurt. The island is heaven and a great getaway from the city. Wish I was still there now! Andy and Liz have created a very special place on their own island. So quiet and peaceful and probably some of the best views I have seen from a hammock. Andy made us one of the best chicken curries I have ever tasted. Cannot wait to go back

    Charna2016-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • We were privileged to be able to pay our second visit to this very special eco-island and stay for a full week. Our hosts, Liz and Andy provided us with a tasty variety of evening meals all freshly prepared by themselves using local ingredients, some of which they had caught. Throughout the day we could help ourselves to their well-stocked fridges and pantry. This is the perfect place to experience an off-grid holiday as Liz and Andy have expertly created the facilities on this three acre island which they are lucky enough to call their home. A home they share with their guests and the teeming wildlife in its surroundings. Out There is an unspoiled getaway in which to relax on the deck or the dock or explore the nooks and crannies of the island. The stillness is great for listening out for the various species of wildlife and we soon became accustomed to the buzz of the hummingbirds and the splash of the seals around us. Eagles and ravens crying out in the woods can be easily spotted and seen in detail through the binoculars. The yurt that Liz and Andy have built is the jewel in the island’s crown. It is light and spacious and can be warmed by a wood burning stove if necessary, which is good for making s’mores. The bedrooms offer wonderful views of the surrounding area as you drift off to sleep in the warm comfortable beds. We cannot wait to return in September and look forward to more visits in the future. Many thanks for a memorable holiday.

  • Ate well, slept well, fabulous hosts. this island has to be visited to be experienced, well worth the trip from England for the weekend. No words can adequately describe how incredible this place and its' hosts are. Looking forward to (a) return visit(s). Highly recommend a game of Doodlepix with seasoned pros Andy and Liz. See you soon, Alan and Julie xx

  • Without question Out There on Nelson Island has been our favourite place to stay on our honeymoon. A truly amazing setting- we were lucky enough to see Orcas passing metres away from the island whilst we were chilling with a morning coffee, and a colony of seals a short kayak away. Liz and Andy were generous hosts, and you could see the passion they had for their island in their work. One of the best kept secrets on AirBnB, no doubt!

  • Liz and Andy took us on a magical rain-soaked cruise to their island oasis. Sunnier skies developed for three birthday's in a row, three Gemini's! Including our host Andy! A very low tide made for fantastic beach combing, and we enjoyed the oysters fresh from the beach, cooked over an open fire (the mouth sized ones are the best).Further highlights include; watching seals diving and feeding, leaving phosphorescent trails as they splash, and amazing food prepared in the open concept kitchen. You have the option of hanging out at the big main cosy yurt house, or you can retreat to the private tent space. It was very interesting to see all of the solutions that they have developed for off-grid living. Distributed solar lights provided a little twinkle of light, right where it was needed, and the composting toilet was one of the best "thrones with a view" we have ever enjoyed. All the little comforts of home have been thoughtfully looked after. The bed was s(PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) comfortable that you didn't want to get out of it in the morning :0)

  • Felt like ROYALTY, they bent over backwards and forwards to make sure we had a great time. I hate nature trips but this one was sooooo special that'd I'd actually go back. I told them they are UNDER charging for the value by at least 50%! I'm telling all my friends and helping them make this a destination for Canada. So magical to be on your OWN island.

    Janet2017-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • This has been one of the best BnB experiences I've ever had. We were off the grid and out in nature in absolute comfort. The Yurt was beautiful, cosy, and very well equipped. Even though it rained most of our time at Out There we never felt cooped up. When it wasn't raining we had a great time kayaking, paddle boarding, and harvesting shellfish. If you're a fan of Oysters and Clams this is a literal paradise :) Not to mention Andy and Liz were excellent hosts! We got picked up right on time and everything was ready and waiting for us when we got to the island. They were really good company, very helpful, and great cooks too. Their dog Nina was very friendly and great company as well :) Out There was the perfect place to spend a weekend and unwind. I would highly recommend it to any of my friends and family, and can't wait to return myself someday!

  • Andy and Liz's place was an amazing get away from the city. They were so welcoming and accommodating picking us up from the dock last minute and accepting our hyperactive puppy. The atmosphere was so relaxing and the food amazing. I would recommend this to anyone who's looking for a remote weekend away where they can disconnect from the crazy city life and reconnect with nature.
