  • Marie was an absolutely fabulous host, very welcoming, helpful, accommodating and generous. There is nothing at all I could fault her or her amazing house on. The house is very spacious, comfortable and modern - and of course there are those amazing views of the Blasket Islands. Marie gave us all the advice we asked for about the area, where to eat and drink, what to visit... and she was spot on with all her recommendations. The house is located in a magical setting, remote on the very edge of western Europe yet only a five minute drive to some very nice restaurants and pubs in nearby Baile an Fheirtéaraigh, and a twenty minute drive from An Daingean Uí Chúis/Dingle. The beaches are stunning, as is nearby Slea Head of course, and the pier where the ferries to the Blaskets leave from is only just down the road. I couldn't recommend Marie's house warmly enough and am already looking forward to going back soon.

  • Cozy little cottage with a stunning view of the hills and the sea! We only stayed one night, but we loved the scenery and the village. Do note that the host has a specific way of charging for electric and heating oil use - it's in the description/house rules but be sure to clarify with them before making the reservation.

  • An amazing place with an even better view. Clean and warm. Katrina was a great host and is exactly the type of host I enjoy staying with. I will most certainly be back.

    Simon2015-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • The location and home were all as advertised. We really enjoyed our stay including our two favorite sheep that found their way to the front yard. It felt like an authentic Irish experience that we could share for a couple of days. Thanks, Patrick and Katrina.

    Jackie2017-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Had a fantastic stay at Katrina Marie's place on Dingle. You simply can't beat the views. Katrina also gave us some local contact info for a boat trip to see the Blasket's...we were able to book last minute to get the last trip of the season...Thanks Katrina Marie!

    Mike2017-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Yes, Katrina was very accomodating and we wanted for nothing with regard to the house. Highly recommended.

    Mark2016-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is an absolute MUST stay. Katrina is so kind and easy going. She suggested several dining options that exceeded our expectations. The views here are impeccable. Nothing compares. Do yourself a favor and book. You will want to stay forever but I suggest at least 3 days here!!! Absolutely fabulous.

  • Theresa's place offers extremely well-kept modern facilities with all of the necessary amenities in an unbelievable location. She had great recommendations on scenic drives/walks in the area and was very responsive and organized. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it to anyone come to the area.

    Ellen2017-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • My daughter and I loved our stay here and definitely recommend it. It is clean, comfortable, and has everything you need. Theresa is so thoughtful and kind. We enjoyed the selection of books and the beautiful views from the windows and patio. We also loved the kitchen; after a day of adventuring, it was nice to be able to come back and have a relaxed dinner, and cooking was easy because Theresa really has thought of everything you might need. We hope to be back again soon!!

    Mary2017-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Theresa's place. The room is a bit out of the way, but the views on the drive over completely make up for that! The cottage had everything that we could have needed during our stay, and Theresa was very willing to help us out with any issues or make suggestions for activities in the area.

    Jordan2017-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely house perfect for a couple. The area is breath taking. Highly recommend the rental and the area.

    Rob2017-07-01T00:00:00Z

  • Padraig has a wonderful house. He was so nice and picked us up because we lost our way his company is just perfect. And the breakfast in the morning pretty yummy. Last but not least the dog Marco :) thank you a lot Best wishe's Esther and Claire

    Claire2017-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Padraig's home was an absolute delight! His home in Donquin is situated half-way arorund the Dingle Peninsula Loop - with a perfect combination of waves and green pastures. From enjoying the wine served in front of the fireplace at night to delicious home-cooked breakfasts (and more!), we felt so lucky to have found this little slice of heaven.

    Stefanie2017-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Pádraig's place is extraordinary with incredible views of The Blasket Islands out every window and from the back yard. The room itself is large and lovely, with a private entrance. Pádraig is a charming and exceptional host who is committed to ensuring you have a fabulous visit. Not to mention the outstanding breakfast! Oh, and he has a happy co-host, a Jack Russell Terrier named Marco. We look forward to returning!

    Joann2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is an exceptional location and host. Amazing house. Amazing hospitality. Amazing food. We arrived after a strenuous day of hiking and were ill prepared: we didn't know there were no eating facilities in the neighbourhood. Padraig had however cooked us a beautiful risotto even before we arrived - so considerate. We spent a very relaxing evening with him, with really memorable conversation. Next morning we had his famous waffles (mmm) and he took us on a special detour of our hiking trip which had some of the best views of our entire holiday. Thank you so much, this was unforgettable.

    Karolien2017-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • An awesome place to stay, Padraig was a wonderful and caring host, the room is super comfortable and his waffles are the best I ever ate!

    Sebastian2017-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time in Padraig's home. He is a wonderful human being. He took great care of my son who is 3yrs old. The location was awesome and in a close proximity to other scenic spots.

    Senthil2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Had a wonderful stay. I always scan the reviews for breakfast details and Padraig did not disappoint. I even got a little take-away waffle for my hike on Great Blasket. Hopefully I'll get to stay here again soon.

    Clint2017-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • A million thanks to our host. We only stayed one night. The view from the house is stunning and you are a walk away from the coast. Padraig also cooked a wonderful breakfast. He was also very arranging with our dog. Note that the listing should be 'private room' rather than 'entire home/apt'. We didn't mind as we felt very welcome.

    Dunquin , Dingle, Ireland

A traditional stone cottage built in the mid 1800's. Located in Dunquin on the Dingle Way walking route and overlooking the Blasket islands.
There are three bedrooms, two double and one twin. The bathroom is shared, the maximum guests we allow are four. However, when it's a family and/or friends we are happy to host six guests. Should a couple require a room each, a supplemental charge of 30 euro per person will apply.
This is a unique area on the Dingle peninsula, our cottage is directly on the Dingle Way walking route. We overlook the Blasket Islands and the peninsula has the most dramatic and scenic views in Ireland. Dunquin is 15 km from Dingle town which is a very special place, with its art, craft, shops, restaurants, boats trips to the dolphin (Fungi)etc etc. Pubs are between 3 and 5 km from here, as are restaurants in season serving good local produce food.
  • it was a wonderful experience ! The cottage is very nice and well located in dingle peninsula. Many thanks Elisabeth for your welcome and your amazing breakfast :-)

    muriel2016-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • Elizabeth's place is definitely worth staying in! It is in the remote part of County Kerry that has the most beautiful scenery! The home is comfortable and cozy. Elizabeth provides you with an wonderful breakfast. There are hiking trails right out the door! This was definitely a highlight to our trip!

  • Claire and Reid were fabulous hosts, who opened their apartment and were so welcoming. Our stay here was without question the highlight of our trip. We appreciate their warm hospitality, the restaurant recommendations and of course, the delicious scones Claire made in the morning. We absolutely fell in love with it here and we hope to be back again soon. All the best, Robert and Lacey

  • Cozy and comfortable, I would highly recommend a stay at the stone cottage in Dunquin. Directions and check in were made easy, breakfast and tea were outstanding, and the house was so warm and cozy! We had an incredible stay, and would certainly return again!

  • We arrived late and they had everything ready for us including some delicious cake. Breakfast with homemade scones and fruit was fantastic. They let us keep our car parked and hike. Lovely area with breathtaking views. So friendly and welcoming

    Nadine2016-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a delightful three day stay. We had the cottage to ourselves which was lovely. The view from the yard and area landscapes was breathtaking. Breakfast is served at whatever time you asked. The scones and yogurt were delicious. It was quiet and so so peaceful. Just a perfect place to stay. We loved everything about our stay! Our hosts were wonderful!

    Rae2016-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • My friends and I absolutely fell in love with this stone cottage in Dunquin. Claire and Reed are especially gracious hosts and made it seem like we were staying with family, even though we were only there the one night. It was cozy, the hosts are lovely and kind, and the surroundings are insanely gorgeous.

    Dava2016-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • My family of six had a splendid time here. The location is ideal for hikers and explorers. The nearby Blasket Island museum is a must, as is hiking to the nearby peaks. In our travels throughout Ireland, this was the most beautiful of all. A highlight for us was tipping a bottle of Irish whiskey while seeing the sun set over the Atlantic from the peak of a mountain. We also enjoyed the fact that this is off the beaten track, yet is but a few miles away from some great pubs and towns. And the hosts are wonderful and engaging people. Top notch...

The house is situated on the famous Slea Head drive, overlooking the Blasket Islands. The house is located near the Blasket Centre,a heritage centre which tells the story of the Blaskets & the lives of the people who lived there. Dingle Town is only a short drive away. Scenes from the 1970 film Ryan's Daughter were shot at Coumineole Beach and Ceathrú (Caharhoo) in Dún Chaoin which is only a walk away from the house.
  • My family and I stayed in this lovely house for 3 nights. It was spacious, clean and comfortable. The views of the ocean were lovely. The hosts were friendly and responsive. We would definitely stay here again.

  • Gearóid and Lisa were great hosts and we really appreciated the welcome gifts and extensive list of places to visit on the peninsula. The house was modern, well equipped, clean and set in a very scenic location. Our family had a great time during our stay in Dunquin, having both the mountains and beaches at our doorstep was a big plus.

  • Excellent location and the house is great!

    Peter2017-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • This home is absolutely amazing. It has every possible comfort, provided for at the highest standard. The views in every direction, out any of the many panoramic windows, are indescribably beautiful. We were within walking distance of two of the most beautiful beaches in the world, Coumeenole and Clogher. We were a 20- minute drive from Dingle, with many excellent restaurants from which to choose. However, we also found a couple of excellent places to eat much closer to home, in Dunquin. Communication was effortless and Lisa and Gearoid were always available and responsive, not to mention extremely helpful and friendly. I cannot recommend this place any more highly than this. I hope to stay here again, next time I'm in Ireland!

    Miriam2017-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • The house has a stunning view to the probably most spectacular scenery of the Dingle Peninsula. On our arrival, Lisa provided us with a warm welcome (including cake, fresh milk and flowers) and answered all our questions. Our hosts had already via email sent us ample information concerning shopping, restaurants and route details, all of which we made good use of. You can do a lot of outdoorsy things starting right at the house or visit attractions only a short distance away, but if the weather is very rough Geraoids and Lisas place is a snug and cosy spot to wait for the storms to pass. If fate permits we will come again!

  • This is a beautiful house in a beautiful spot! It is near walking trails, a nice information center/museum, and even a pub down the road. It was clean and accurate and Margaret was friendly and helpful. The drive to/from Dingle was about 20 min on a narrow road but not bad (and with nice views!) and definitely worth it!

  • Loved the place. Had a fantastic stay. Lovely house and great location. Michelle was very nice and few Irish words came back to my after a tour of the house. Would definitely recommend it.

  • This location is beyond words beautiful. The hosts are as kind as they could possibly be. This house is the real deal, older Irish house near farmland, with stunning views of the sea. It's very comfortable, but not luxurious. If you want out of touristy Dingle, this is your place. About 30 minute drive back to Dingle. Once we arrived, we could barely bring ourselves to leave this quiet and beautiful area. Great place to take walks. Our weather was spectacular.

    Cecile2017-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • Our group of four absolutely loved our stay here. The house was lovely and comfortable with lots of space for us all. The location and surrounding scenery was stunning with the most beautiful views on our doorstep. These views, combined with the wonderful, warm welcome from our hosts, made it a trip to remember. The communication was fantastic and lovely touches such as homemade brown bread and a jug of milk really made us feel at home immediately. We even got a lift into Dingle from our host who was on his way in to play traditional music in one of the bars (An Droichead Beag). We had a great night there too! I would recommend this property to anyone who wishes to enjoy Ireland's stunning landscape and warm hospitality. I would stay here again and again and can't thank the hosts enough for their wonderful hospitality,

    Christine2017-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • Our family of 7 loved our weekend at Tigh Mamo! The location was ideal for exploring the Dingle peninsula and the outside seating area was perfect for enjoying the view with a cold beer! Pádraig & Michelle were excellent hosts. We received a warm welcome from Pádraig who waved us in from the gate when we lost our way!! The homemade bread and marmalade were a lovely touch. We had a minor issue with a tap which was resolved quickly with minimum hassle and we received a bottle of wine as an apology. Would recommend!

    Catriona2017-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • We can't say enough good things about this place! If you are coming to this area of Ireland we can't suggest this home enough. The most incredible thing about the home is the view, you won't believe it. It was breathtaking every single day. Pádraig and Michelle are also so accommodating and so kind, we feel as though we left with new friends. The home is also perfect for a family as it can house so many and each room has a sink. Everything is so clean and comfortable. It was so wonderful to be out at the end of the Peninsula too; it is little bit away from the city and peaceful, but it only takes 20 minutes to get to Dingle, so it's still very easy to access for activities and food. There are wonderful places to eat (cafes) and beautiful places to run and walk right in Dunquin (or nearby) for those interested. Again, we can't suggest this place enough, it's an incredible AirBnB! The only change we would have made would have been to stay longer!

    Sarah2017-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • One of the best locations I have ever stayed from a spectacular Irish landscape scenery point of view. Amazing views from the main sitting room of the Blasket Islands. Padraig and Michelle's own home is next door so they are never too far away if you need to get in touch. Very friendly hosts who are fluent in the Irish language and went out of their way to make our holiday enjoyable.

    Paul2017-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Couldn't have loved the place more. The views are to die for - probably best we've seen in Ireland. The hosts are lovely and very responsive to any needs. Beds were comfortable and the bedrooms have gorgeous clear views from the windows. All four bedrooms have their own sinks and vanities - a nice touch for larger groups or families as it would cut down on morning get-ready time. Great place to explore the Dingle Peninsula. Kitchen was outfitted with everything we needed. Tea, bread, and Irish marmalade were a nice touch :-). We would love to return someday!

The village is only 20 minute drive west of the lively town of Dingle and joins the famed Slea Head drive, one of the most scenic drives in Ireland on windy cliff edge roads, it takes you through breath-taking scenery to the neighbouring villages of Ballyferriter, Ballydavid and Ventry.
  • Great place to get away from the city and unwind. Thanks for a great stay.

  • If you're looking for a personable host with great knowledge of the area, then this is the place for you! Between the hospitality, beautiful surroundings, and spacious accommodations you'd be hard pressed to leave. We will definitely recommend them to friends and family and look forward to returning one day!

  • I would come back to Ireland just to stay at Aoife and Des's guesthouse. It was pristine, modern, extremely comfortable, and the view was absolutely unreal--just gorgeous.

    Liz2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Des and Aoifes' place is just great. The room is huge- so spacious and spotlessly clean. A super king bed fit for a King and a Kerry Kingdom welcome fit for a Queen. Such nice people and very accommodating hosts with great attention to detail down to tea and homemade biscuit facilities in the room. Their lovely sensitive dog Max became a good friend. Helpful Wifi too. Stunning views (even from the shower!) looking out to the Blasket Islands. The magical Clogher strand beach is a 3 min drive from the house and Dingle town a scenic 20 min drive. We had a fantastic time and highly recommend staying here. If the weather is good you'll think you're in heaven.

    Amelia2015-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • We didn't arrive until after 9:00 p.m. and were so pleased with a wonderful welcome! Des and Aoife make you feel like you're staying with old friends. Thankfully, it was light outside until very late, so we had an opportunity to enjoy the amazing views from the front room before the sun went down, and we had wonderful chat with our hosts to learn about the area and life in general in the Dingle Peninsula. The room was huge and very clean. Aoife went above and beyond with a delicious breakfast! We loved everything about staying with this adorable family in their beautiful home. We'll definitely be recommending it to friends!

    Dustin2015-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • Summary: this place is amazing and so is the host’s hospitality. It made our trip in the Dingle Penninsula so much more fun. Highly recommended. We will definitely stay again if we come back to the area. Detail: my wife and I stayed here for our 3 days-2 nights trip to celebrate our anniversary. The settings of the house was even better than the pictures shown in the listing. The sunset view was picture perfect - we were lucky and got a taste of it on the first evening we arrived. The second day was rainy and foggy, but the beautiful hilly greens nearby and the sheeps roaming on it showed another side of Ireland’s beauty. The sun broke out on the last morning and offered us a clear view of the Blasket Island and even the Skellig Michael (yes the one in Star Wars). It is very private and quiet even though this is a section of the host’s house. The interior is clean, tastefully decorated, modern, and well maintained. The kitchen is well stocked with all the necessary appliances and cooking utensils, dining wares, etc. Aoife was really thoughtful as the host that she even stocked the pantry with grinded coffee and a french press and welcomed us with a loaf of lemon poppy seed cake! The bedroom is clean, and the bed was very comfortable with good linens. The bathroom, once again, clean and well stocked with clean towels and nice toiletries. Heat in every room but we don’t really need to use it. The location is perfect. It is only a min or two from the scenic Slea Head Drive, less than 10 min to the Dunquin Pier for the boat to the Blasket Island or the iconic photo spot looking down the sheep’s walk. About 23 min from the gorgeous town of Dingle. Very convenient to any activities you may have planned while visiting the Dingle Peninsula. Last but not least, Aoife is a perfect host. Quick and clear communications, attention to details, her directions to the house is very accurate and clear. Very helpful yet fully aware/ respect of guest’s privacy. All these made our trip perfect and the stay at the house itself has become part of our treasured memory in this wonderful town and country.

    Asa2017-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Des, Aiofa, Grace and Max were stellar hosts. Words cannot express how lovely their home and the village of Dunquin are. The weather was not the best during our stay and the Ball family made us feel like their home was our home. Our stay with them was the highlight of our honeymoon and we cannot recommend their home enough.

    Haley2015-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved it here, in fact we stayed an extra day. Whether the weather is good or bad it's a magic place. If the weather keeps you indoors you have excellent views through large glass doors and windows down through the valley to the sea. On sunny days you can bask in the sun on the balcony. Aoife was a fantastic host, very friendly and helpful with great local knowledge. They are there if you need them but otherwise you have complete privacy and peace and quiet. The accommodation itself is all new and all high end fixtures. You won't be disappointed, the bed is super comfy as is the couch. It's a great place for day trips too. Thank you so much for having us and for looking after us. The cake was yummy too Wendy &Jimmy.

  • Take the best ocean view you could possibly imagine on the lovely Dingle peninsula, and put a home there. Nothing but ocean, islands, a beautiful beach, cliffs, stone walls and sheep. The view looks even better than the photos. And there's a great patio too. The place was well equipped and super clean. Really comfortable, including good beds. Slept and accommodated our group of 8 (2 families) really easily. Lisa was fantastic with local advice on where to eat, hikes to take, fish shops to use, and more. Even helped us arrange for local live lobster. She was also really responsive on the few questions we had. Great home and host. We would return or recommend most highly!

  • This is a spectacular setting and a truly very nice home on a hillside overlooking the sea. We were very comfortable and well taken care of by our hosts.

    Richard2015-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location! The house is very clean and nice. Awesome view on the ocean! Everything you need is in the house. We had a great time!

  • This property is fantastic and the Lisa and Tomas went above and beyond at every turn. They gave suggestions of things to do while in Ireland, maps, tips, everything to help make this a wonderful trip. My wife forgot to bring some medicine, and I emailed Lisa late our first night seeking advice on pharmacies and/or doctors in neighboring Dingle. She replied immediately, and said her mother-in-law happened to be a doctor in Dingle and she set up an appointment for us early the next morning. This allowed us to stay on schedule and enjoy our trip without having to jump through hoops to get this prescription replaced. Dr. Margo was delightful too. The pictures don't do justice to the view. It is spectacular. The house was roomy, modern, and spotless. I highly recommend staying here. We will be back again.

    Joe2016-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • This home on Slea Head Drive has spectacular views and is well appointed & comfortable. My family really enjoyed staying here. It is a bit of drive to Dingle but it was worth it for the quiet & the beauty. The hosts are very helpful with their communications. The caretaker we met was also friendly & helpful. I absolutely loved staying here and I missed it so much when we left. You really can hear the Sound of the Sea from this charming home.

    Allison2017-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • The view was stunning and comfortably accessible from almost every room in the house. This is an incredible spot. Lisa was a great host. She answered our many questions promptly and was very helpful in accomodation our needs and requests. This house deserves the highest marks for price, location, comfort and service.

    Sam2016-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa was great via email before we arrived, and set everything up. House is immaculate and solid as a rock, jutting as it does into the North Sea! The House is in a setting that cannot be captured in pictures. In fact we tried for 3 straight days to document just how jaw dropping it is. Think about being at Westernmost tip of Europe, with the seacliffs, and the the windswept Blasket Islands in front of you, and picture perfect ancient pasture land all around. Imagine a house with all the modern amenities, and a library of local inspired literature to browse, a shelf of curated movies to curl up with (Ryan's Daughter should be on a loop). Modern Kitchen, bathroom and laundry, much welcomed and allowed us to pack light. House is minutes from ancient sites, and 20 minutes from Dingle, an Irish culinary and cultural gem. Take a right out of the driveway, with the tourist traffic, and take a drive up over the mountain, you'll thank me later! Bring a small car, your sense of adventure, and space in your heart for memories that will last a lifetime. I am almost reluctant to let you in on this secret. But I assume Lisa will have us back if I book early enough, ahead of all you folks. What are you waiting for???

    Brian2015-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • What Irish dreams are made of...you'll find no better spot to enjoy a holiday with a view and a house of your own. Everything you could need is here and we stayed for the week leading up to our wedding in Dingle. A magical experience and we hope to be back at the house again.

Contemporary house with all modern comforts on the Wild Atlantic Way where Stars Wars was filmed. See the beauty of the area on Youtube under 'The stunning beauty of the Dingle Peninsula Ireland'
This recently renovated house is a quiet haven. Over a hearty breakfast you can enjoy a spectacular view. At the end of the day you can relax in a luxurious bath and a comfortable bed.
This is one of the most beautiful places in the world . . . hopefully the rain will not prevent you from seeing it! It is the place to go exploring sandy beaches, craggy cliffs and rolling hills and mountains. Or explore the sea. See our friendly dolphin, Fungi, from a boat or go scuba diving.
  • We had a very enjoyable stay with Catherine, the room was very comfortable and the bathroom was luxurious! We were made very welcome indeed and enjoyed some stimulating conversation with our hosts. Excellent breakfast to set us up for exploring this very scenic area, thank you!

  • Very beautiful house, the construction is not fully ended (no garden at the moment) but it will be a really great place to stay in few months. The view is really amazing. Catherine and her husband are very nice hosts.

  • Fantastic location, house and hosts, would highly recommend for a perfect getaway, far exceeded our expectations and look forward very much to returning for a longer stay.

    Brendan2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • I strongly recommend Catherine's house. The place is wonderful with a very beautiful landscape (and a gorgeous view from the house). We really enjoyed walking on the coast near the sea. Catherine and her husband are very friendly and we really had pleasure to discuss with them and learned about Ireland.

    Pierre2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Cathal and Catherine were so wonderful and their house an architect's dream. Truly stunning home and also so cozy. It was nice to have a private bathroom with both a shower and bath; it was so luxurious! They had several breakfast options for us in the morning and hot tea waiting for us when we arrived. The view from the dining area is spectacular and Cathal was nice enough to tell us of a special cove to enjoy away from the crowds. Plenty of tea shops, hikes and restaurants nearby to gain stunning views all day long.

    Beth Ann2017-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Catherine's home is beautiful: recently renovated to an exceptionally high standard, the killer feature is still the view of Clogher Beach from the breakfast table. Catherine and her husband, Cathal are very welcoming and great conversationalists. They were even generous enough to loan me their body board, as the weather was spectacular while I was there. I would recommend them highly.

  • Our trip was just amazing, thanks to the wonderful owners of the house! They are very attentive and kind, and also told us many interesting legends and facts about the local places. In general, the hosts made our stay as comfortable as possible! And this is not to mention the beautiful room in which we lived! But what kind of windows ... !!! The location is just amazing !! Near the most picturesque places of Ireland.

This old farmhouse is situated beside the sea amid the most stunning coastal scenery of the Wild Atlantic Way on Slea Head. it is a great place to get away from modern life. Stunning sea views and peace and quiet. Ideal location for people walking the Dingle way.
This old farmhouse (c. 150 years old) is situated beside the sea amid the most stunning coastal scenery of the Wild Atlantic Way. Indeed it is just beside the Signature Point ‘Ceann Sleibhe’ (Slea Head), indicating that it is one of the most beautiful parts of the amazing driving route. It is also on the Slea Head Drive, a beautiful driving route on the Dingle Peninsula, and just below the Dingle Way (Slí Chorca Dhuibhne), a terrific walking trail. It is surrounded by archaeological monuments, and by a working sheep farm. If you want to get away from it all (though the road can be busy in the summer), then this is the place for you. Views to the south-east, across Dingle Bay, of Carrantuohill, the highest mountain in Ireland, south across to the Iveragh Peninsula and west to the Blasket Islands (which can be reached by ferry from Dún Chaoin (Dunquin), only 4 miles down the road. Choughs and gannets abound in this area, and you might be lucky and even see a pod of dolphins passing. If you have an interest in film, you would like to know that some of Far and Away, starring Tom Cruise, was shot here, and much of Ryan’s Daughter was shot nearby. More recently, some of the Star Wars series is being shot only a few miles away – so they have certainly recognised how beautiful the area is! The Dingle Peninsula has probably the greatest concentration of archaeological monuments of any part of Ireland, and they are here for you to discover. Your host will be able to advise on visiting many sites, from Bronze Age to Medieval. Accommodation in the house consists of 2 bedrooms, two of which are doubles and 1 has a small single bed as well. There is a downstairs bathroom and shower, and a large sitting/dining room, which was the kitchen of the farmhouse. There is also a smaller, more cosy, sitting room. Your host, Aedán, has lived here all his life, and comes from a long line of farmers who have worked this land for centuries. He is very knowledgeable about living in the area, and can suggest plenty of excursions and activities for you. His family live nearby and will also be on-hand to offer advice and information. A light breakfast is provided, but there are no cooking facilities. A evening meal may be provided for a extra charge if you give the host ample warning. I usually stick to traditional Irish dishes. No wi-fi provided – the downside of being in a remote, beautiful area, surrounded by mountains! So a good place to escape from the hurley-burley of modern life. You can listen to the waves breaking on the cliffs below, and to the many birds which pass by. On clear nights the vista of a huge, starry sky is entrancing. There is ample off-road parking beside the house, but no public transport in the area, so a car (or bike for the hardy!) is necessary. English and Irish spoken. Basic French and Spanish. This area has inspired poets and artists – come and see what it might do for you! This house is ideal for people walking the dingle way.
    The stunning sea views
  • We stayed at Aedans for one night, so we could explore the dingle peninsula and attracted by the sheep for our little daughter. The views were unbelievable and the area is full of history. Aedan welcomed us with a lamb to hold and feed. He made sure we were comfortable with what we had. A unique experience.

    Grace2017-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Very peaceful place with a stunning view of the ocean. Aedan was very friendly and he showed us around and let us pet the lambs. We'd love to stay there again.

    Anna2016-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • About 15 minutes past the lovely town of Dingle, at the very end of the Dingle peninsula. A wonderful quiet farmhouse surrounded by beehive huts and right on the ocean. Quirky and fun painting and decorations.

    Carolina2017-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Very accommodating for our late arrival. The cottage was clean, quiet and oh so charming! Loved waking up to the sound of the sheep in the morning. The view is spectacular!

    Sarah 2016-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful view! Got to hold a baby sheep. Peaceful and suitable

    Audrey2017-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great stay. The location and View was spectacular, and our host was very kind and accommodating. We enjoyed our stay very much, and hope to return. I highly recommend this place. Good choice.

    Glenn2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had so much fun staying at Aedan's place! The view was ASTOUNDING and we got to bottle feed a lamb! Aedan himself was very welcoming and made you feel at home right away. I wish there was a way to give an "adventurous" rating on here because I'd give this location five stars! The rustic feel of the house might not be for all Air B&B participants (the one bathroom is downstairs and you will hear sheep occasionally at night) but it was great for my brother and me. Note: one of the coolest things about the property is that it has beehive huts on it, which tourists can visit. However, they can start coming in around 10 AM, so you might feel obligated to get up early to shower and get out the door before they arrive.

    Meghan2016-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place holds a lot of rustic charm. Aedan was very welcoming. The property is an old Irish family home/ farm house. There are prehistoric beehive huts on location as well as chickens and lambs. Tour busses stop here for tea, coffee, to see the historical huts, and for the opportunity to hold a baby lamb. It is directly on the Slea Head Drive so there is a magnificent ocean view right out the door. The location is about 20min/20euro taxi to Dingle town. The accommodation itself is old and basic but it serves your needs and the unique rustic charm of the property makes up for it. There are two bedrooms available and a simple breakfast of cereals, fruit and toast. Tourists come and go and Aedan is in and out but the listing is one of a kind and if you're lucky you may even get to feed a bottle of milk to a baby lamb!

With spectacular views of the Great Blasket Island and Mount Eagle the house is in the ideal setting to enjoy all the Dingle Peninsula, County Kerry, has to offer. It is a warm, spacious and modern home set in a beautifully landscaped one acre garden. Dunquin is the perfect location for scenic mountain/country walks and has the sea and beaches nearby. Boat trips to the Blasket Islands are available locally during the summer months.
  • When we made the reservation I was thinking that this might be a little bit more expensive than what we planned for, but the house was marvelous, and we enjoyed our whole stay. Wonderful view on a quiet and peaceful neighborhood perfect for a family or two. We had nice time in Dingle as well as some nearby places. The place worth its price if you enjoy the peace and beauty.

  • Wonderful location!!! We spent a great Christmas. The furniture was a bit lacking but had washer/dryer and full kitchen. We had an issue with the heat and Celine replied quickly to fix the issue, sending someone out to help on Christmas Eve. A very remote beautiful area with limited connections (wifi and tv). Overall we had a good experience and enjoyed a quiet Christmas here!

This is a self build cabin next to my residence and working art studio. It is situated just 1 mile of the now world famous Wild Atlantic Way. Its 15 min walk from Wine strand and Bael Ban beaches. The area is famous for its amazing Hill and coastal walks. Ballyferriter village is only 1.5 miles away and has various places to eat, drink, sing and dance. The cabin is in the heart of the Irish speaking area so gives guests an opportunity to really experience real Irish rural life. The famous fishing town of Dingle is only 5 miles so you can experience its array of amazing tourist attractions then relax in the pretty countryside just outside.
This is a very quiet area surrounded by farmland. The locals are friendly and happy to help out if needed.
  • Very secluded beautiful spot, Ballyferriter beauty everywhere, lovely host. Recommended.

  • The words I kept using to describe this lovely studio apartment was a "Zen Nest." It was beautifully clean, neat, uncluttered, light-filled, and peaceful. It is tucked away from the road on Ken's artist workshop property and so if you are looking for a quiet place to unwind after a day of hiking (or driving) around the beautiful Dingle Peninsula, this is a gem of a find. Ken generously supplied basic breakfast materials to get me started. In fact, Ken was a great host all around. He was helpful and sensitive to any need I had, but also respected any desire for quiet and space. This "nest" is located not far from Ballyferriter (within about 5 minutes by car) so if you want to stay out away from Dingle town, you can still get lunch or dinner at the local restaurant or several pubs (at least at the time of year I was there in August - September). It is probably a 15 minute drive from Dingle where you can find more night life and lively shops if you like -- lots of local artists. The traditional music scene in Dingle is one of the best anywhere. This was a great place at a good rate. I highly recommend it.

    Kim2017-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely gorgeous place! Perfect for couples or solos! Ken is very gracious leaving lots of nice snacks to use and other helpful items like toothpaste. The place was immaculate and even though it's a bit away from the centre definitely worth it

  • Great value! Very clean and quiet we had a great stay here

    Lauren2017-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Do it. Gorgeous retreat amidst the prolific wildflowers of August. Couldn't ask for a better place from which to explore the Dingle Peninsula. It's the stuff Air Bnb dreams are made of.

    Trudy2017-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Staying with an artist like Ken is a highlight. He showed us around and the pieces he is working on right now. Also the one room apartment we stayed in is a great place. It's well thought through and you have everything you need for a two night stay. Communication with Ken was easy and we highly recommend a stay with him.

    Kornelius2017-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Ken's place is the perfect accommodation for a get away in nature. The little house is cosy, bright and comfortable. Ken is very kind, respectful and accomodating.

  • We loved our stay here, everything was great! The bed was very comfortable, the room was spotless and Ken was a fantastic host, we would definitely recommend!

This cozy home overlooks Ventry Bay and has a rear view of the Dingle Peninsula mountains. It is located five miles from Dingle Town where you can shop, visit the local pubs with music and storytellers, go horseback riding, swim at Ventry's sand beach, hike historic trails, or visit archaeological ruins. At the end of the day, nestle close to the stone fireplace under wool blankets loomed locally in Dingle. This home has 3 bedrooms (all with double beds) and sleeps 6.
  • Really, really lovely place and the location is perfect. Sarah was ultra responsive and when there was a problem with the water it was fixed same day with no problems. Would go back in a heartbeat.

  • Adorable cabin with an amazing view! We absolutely loved it here!! Check in and check out was a breeze and the price can't be beat. It was a short drive into Dingle and Ventry which was perfect for us. The only thing to be aware of is that the lawn (which is lovely and vast) has about a twelve foot drop surrounding it straight onto the concrete road and you can't see it until you are very close. This was a little dangerous with our toddler running around but if you know about it in advance it should be ok. Highly recommend staying here.

  • If you don't mind a short 5-10 minute drive to downtown Dingle and you want a countryside feel, this is the place. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

  • We absolutely loved our stay in this charming cottage in Ventry! The house is cozy and beautifully situated with views of the bay and rolling farm lands. Sarah was a wonderful host, available to answer questions with speed and friendliness. The house is so comfortable, with everything you need for your stay. It was really nice to be situated just a little bit outside of Dingle. We felt connected to a less touristy spot and thoroughly enjoyed our time at Paidi O'Se's pub just down the street. We highly recommend this cottage for your next trip to Dingle!

    Susan2017-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Stunning setting, gorgeous well equipped house. The view is unbeatable! With a car it wasn't too far to shops (dingle.) and right on the slea head drive. Amazing stay. Only minus points drier was out if action and new one never appeared (but if required radiators worked fine to dry washing) and lack of curtains in the bedrooms ( I get the wonder of waking up to this view, amazing, but with 6 year old kids or if you were a light sleeper it's a problem). But it didn't really hinder our stat, wonderful!!

  • Breege was a great host, great fun and very kind and generous. Great location for exploring all around Dingle. Lots of lovely walks and beaches- caught the pony races at Ballyferriter beach. Breege suggested several fabulous restaurants in the area- Dingle won best foodie town in Ireland.

  • Breege is very sweet and accomodating

    Michele2016-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Breege is welcoming and fun - a delightful host. Her home is a massive old house which is being renovated and is not all ready for occupancy. But that was not an inconvenience. Our flat was beautifully done with an excellent kitchen and two spotless bathrooms. There was fresh home-made bread on the counter and food in the fridge for breakfast, plus coffee, tea and juice. There are plenty of windows with excellent views of the sea and the mountains. Ballyferriter is a small town, so this location is for those who want a quiet place. We enjoyed our stay and would gladly choose to stay with Breege again.

  • Ailene is a lovely host and the cottage is the perfect base for a family vacation on the Dingle Peninsula; it's comfortable and has gorgeous views from every window (castle and cows on one side and Ventry Bay on the other!). You can take a walk into Ventry along a quiet back road, passing sheep and flower-filled hedgerows. It's the best location for anyone who wants to have easy access to Dingle and still have a quiet working farm to call home.

  • Fantastic view, close to beautiful ventry beach. Very comfortable home with everything we needed for a family holiday. Great place to visit with children we found something to do every day despite the weather.

  • Communicating with Ailene was always swift and easy. The place was perfect for our purposes and with a big group.

  • We had a wonderful stay at the Murphy Cottage. Ailene was very responsive and met us at the cottage upon arrival and showed us how everything worked. The scenery around the cottage is stunning. It was also very peaceful. Overall, the Murphy Cottage is a tremendous value and I highly recommend it.

  • Ailene's place is exactly as described. A welcoming, well equipped place on a working farm. Perfect if you want to get away from it all. It is quite remote and peaceful and Dingle is only a ten minute drive away. Lovely views of the castle on her property.

    Margie2017-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • This place is far better than I even imagined. The view in either bedroom is spectacular. The castle is amazing and the access allowed is unbelievable. The house itself is so cute and has everything you need. It's so cozy, clean and adorable. Ailene and her husband are so helpful and accommodating, not to mention very nice, as all Irish people seem to be! I highly recommend this hidden gem!

    Sarah2016-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about this stay (and leading up to it) was fantastic. Communication with Ailene was quick and friendly. The house was spotless and had everything you could possibly need for a stay and preparing your own meals. It was also gorgeous with the natural light in the mornings and evenings, and you can't beat the views! The property itself as well was stunning. Having Ventry Bay out of the back and the castle out front (with lambs playing and jumping around, as it is a working farm). It was amazing! Ailene and her husband were extremely welcoming and chatted to us when we saw them when exploring the castle property. They are extremely friendly, and would be available if you needed anything, no question. My boyfriend and I had said if we had stayed longer, we would have had them over for a proper meal! I would stay here again in a heartbeat, and would encourage anyone to do the same! It really felt like a home away from home, and in one of the most beautiful places in Ireland to boot!

The cottage is a one and a half story structure built of indigenous stone and maintains a typical layout for a building of its type. Renovated within the last twenty years, it offers modern amenities while maintaining a traditional look and feel. The area has outstanding scenery, fabulous sandy beaches and great pubs and restaurants. A great place for couples, families or anyone who wants to experience traditional Ireland.
  • The location of Nan's rental is in a location right out of Ryan's daughter.... in fact, the movie was filmed only a short distance from where it stands. It is the quintessential Irish cottage! Everything was exactly as expected and then some. Nan went way out of her way to make our stay as pleasant as possible. I cannot say enough good things about this stay. Thank you Nan.

    John2017-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • I would definitely recommence Dunquin Cottage. The scenery is absolutely magnificent and the cottage deliciously comfortable. Nan's house rules will appeal to any globetrotter. Dunquin is as remote as it gets, yet if you are checking in nightly you will find all you need for a snack and a decent night until the local store opens... I took great pleasure following those rules in leaving a jar of honey carefully chosen from one of our local beekeeper in Cork. The possibilities around the cottage are infinite, viewed from the sea the coast is absolutely breathtaking and the wildlife omnipresent. Viewed from the hills there are days of trekking to be done as the most famous walks are passing by... it's all signed. The original historical crossing to the Blasket Islands starts from Dunquin! Last but certainly not least there are plenty of restaurants nearby for seafood but a car is absolutely needed....

    Arnaud2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • It was a pleasure to be in Nan's cottage. Very well equipped to cook, bake. Very cosy and confortable. The area is wonderful: walking around, there is Dunquin Harbor, the beaches, the view on the Blaskets. Dingle is very near, taking the road through the hills. Thank you Nan for the books, the maps, the confort of this lovely stone house!

Ballybeag is perfect: off the main road, quiet and secluded, safe for children to play. Our garden is just wonderful, surrounded by trees and wildflowers, birds feeding and chirping - this is a little paradise! I feel so lucky to live here.
Ballybeag is only 1 km from Ventry village and the beach. Ventry is a charming little village, where you find a pottery cafe, a restaurant, a post office with a well stocked shop and last not least the 'Ventry Inn', our local pub with the most spectacular view. At the end of the day you can join the locals for a chat, sitting outside, the beach stretching for miles, with Mount Eagle as a backdrop, boats coming into the harbour - so relaxing. Slainte! (Cheers!)
Ballybeag (Irish for: 'little village') is nestled down a cul-de-sac. It is surrounded by hills and mountains that offer breathtaking views of sea and pastures, beaches and deep gorges, sharp rock faces eaten away by the power of the sea. It is a truly magnificent part of this world.

It's also in a great location with the Blasket Island visitor centre just down the fuchsia-lined lane while Louis Mulcahy pottery is just up the road. The house was well-equipped, the bed linen crisp and clean and the host had kindly left essentials as well as cheese and a delicious local rhubarb and ginger relish!

  • A fantastic place to stay! Myself and my wife stayed for a week with our 7 month old. Donal and Kelly were fantastic and friendly. I spent a week there in Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne learning Irish and having the pub downstairs was a great opportunity for me to meet native speakers. Donal is a native speaker himself and was very helpful and patient as I practised my Irish. I hope to return again next year and if if I do I will stay with Donal and Kelly again for sure!

The location was perfect, right near Slea Head, a beautiful drive around the most western edge of the Dingle Penninsula. Not to mention the pub has a view of where the latest Star Wars movie was filmed! How cool! Our stay here was perfect.

  • Donal and Kelly were very gracious hosts and made us feel welcome right away. The apartment was even stocked with breakfast items! The bathroom and kitchen areas seem brand new and very nice. The bed is comfortable too. We loved the location...only 7 minutes from Dingle but you can avoid all the hustle and bustle by staying here. It is close to Slea Head and all the sites also. The room was quiet at night and we loved going down to the pub when we wanted. We were here several nights and it didn't feel long enough. We would love to come back someday!

  • Ballyferriter, where this is located, is a quiet town about 15 mins drive from touristy-Dingle. The apartment was a good size with a big bathroom. We didn't notice noise from the pub below, but we kept staying up with them all. Can't describe enough how friendly everyone was.

Tigh na gCrann (House in the Trees) is a rustic house in a private, scenic setting close to Ventry village, 8km west of Dingle. The elevated site boasts spectacular views of Ventry Harbour & Dingle Bay with the Skeillig Rocks (of Star Wars fame), in the distance. The adjacent tree plantation & mature gardens contribute to the peace & seclusion of the site which is barely visible from the quiet, country road below. The house is on The Saints Path and adjacent to The Dingle Way walking trails.
The spacious house was built in 1991 and has tiles and wooden floors throughout. There is an eclectic mix of furniture and decor in the house which is heated by electricity and oil. There is also an open fireplace in the living room. There is ample parking to the rear of the house and a large patio area to the front which is paved with Indian sandstone and has a buschbeck BBQ and a concrete dining table and benches. Several sun loungers, deck chairs and camping tables are available for use in the garden shed and there is a trampoline in the garden for the children!
The house is in an extremely private and quiet country neighbourhood. Most of the houses on the road are holiday homes and are therefore not occupied all year around. The road is however often very busy with walkers/hikers and horses from the nearby trekking centre during the spring and summer months. You will also regularly meet farmers and their sheep on the road! Much of the land on either side of the road leading to the house is farmland with sheep production being the main agricultural enterprise in the area. The sound of sheep and their lambs baaing is usually the most noise we hear! Apart from the 'dawn chorus' of course :)! There are no street lights on the road so the area around the house is very dark at nightfall. This can take time to adjust to for people coming from urban areas. We do have a neighbor whose house is occupied most of the time. While not very close to our house we do respect their proximity when it comes to entertaining/playing music etc.
  • Wow! This was the best place we have stayed yet. If anything, the host is underselling the house. On a sunny day, the view is spectacular and you can see the Skellig Islands in the distance. Her pictures must be from winter because the property is covered in gorgeous lush flower beds. A private woods with kids club house adds to the magic. Inside was very spacious, modern and comfortable for 7(we were 5). Everything in Dingle is close to you by car and you can walk to a castle down the block or a longer walk to town with plenty of blackberries to eat along the way. I am so happy I took a chance on this property.

  • Laura's place is set in an idyllic part of the Dingle peninsula. It is about 10 mins by car from Dingle and 2 mins drive from Ventry. The scenery from the house is breathtaking. It truly is a little gem! Everything is as described in this rustic accommodation. We had everything we needed... fuel for the fire, food to keep us going & even a bottle of wine left for us. Although we didn't meet Laura, communication was perfect & she gave clear & detailed instructions for us & was available by phone. Overall it was a fantastic experience & I would highly recommend Tigh na gcrann for the authentic Dingle experience. Thank you Laura!

  • Such an amazing rental! Laura's house is in a remarkable setting with an amazing view of fields of sheep and cows, the ruins of a small 15th century castle and the Ventry beach and harbor. Laura was great at communicating details and the house itself had everything we could have asked for. I highly recommend staying here.

  • We had a great time staying at Tigh na gCrann. It's a beautiful rustic house, very spacious, clean, in a great location and has an amazing view. It had everything we needed, all mod cons, plenty of supplies and more than enough fuel for the fire which made our stay all the more pleasant. Laura's place is a 10 minute drive from Dinlge, very close to Ventry and a short spin from lots of beautiful beaches. We didn't meet Laura but she was very nice to deal with, extremely helpful and understanding and quick to reply to any of my queries. All directions and check-in instructions were clear and easy to follow. I would highly recommend Laura's place and I would definitely go back, in fact I didn't want to leave. Thanks a million Laura!

  • Great place for a getaway. Close to town and amenities, but on a secluded street with gorgeous views. Spacious house and beautiful part of town. Though we didn't get to meet Alice on our stay, she kindly provided us with breakfast and fruits that were a great surprise. Great spot to unwind and relax.

  • I loved how authentic and old-fashioned the place felt, like an old Irish cottage, yet with modern amenities such as good heating and loads of natural light, in part due to skylights. A very comfortable place to stay.

  • We had a great time at Michelle's place! It was our fifth time in Dingle and this is the best place we have stayed in. The house is really beautiful (much better than what you can see in the pictures), spacious and everything was very clean. The location is perfect, very close to the most amazing beaches and scenic routes of the peninsula. Also very close to Dingle village. Padraig and Michelle were really nice and helpful. I would definitely recommend this place and look forward to going back next year!Grazie e arrivederci! Simona

  • Maries place is good value for a quick stop over or to explore Dingle peninsular. The room is comfortable and well equiped with use of a private bathroom. There were a few insects in the bathroom and a slightly too friendly cat.
