Come stay with Vinh & Stuart (Awarded one of Australia's top hosts by Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky & key shareholder Ashton Kutcher. We're Sydney's #1 reviewed hosts too). Find out why we've been positively reviewed 500+ times. Please read our listing first (hint hint) We do not accept reservations from people without a verified profile. And please do not make a reservation request before we have exchanged messages. We're keen to chat 1st and make sure we can offer you a "Five Star Stay"
Please say hello and message us *BEFORE* you make your reservation request... It'll help speed things up, and smooth things out... Please read our listing. It will make getting a confirmed reservation so much easier :) See below (hint hint) -- G'Day from Vinh & Stuart in Sydney! Thanks for coming to check out our listing :) We have another btw... http://www.airbnb.com/rooms/73639 if this one is unavailable "Sydney City Home with Harbour Views"; our spare room in the attic. We're pretty relaxed hosts, and as Sydney's #1 hosts we play an active part in the Airbnb community, but we fully appreciate staying with someone else, in their home home, is not for every-one. We get it, our place isn't for everyone. So we won't be offended if you leave this listing (there's plenty of other great Airbnb listings to choose from that don't offer a hosted experience). As we were among the first Airbnb'ers in Australia (travellers + hosts) we've developed quite an extensive profile based on all the guest questions we've answered over the years. Reading through the description to the end (hint hint), and the "House Rules", will mean you'll find all the important information you need to make your Sydney Airbnb stay a fantastic one. Feel free to send us a message with any question you have about us, our home, Pyrmont, Sydney, or Airbnb... We'd love to hear from you! :D This is not a business, or a hotel. We're casual Airbnb hosts, not hoteliers. This is our family home. We live here. You are not be renting an empty apartment. This is not a 'sub-let'. And we do not have a team of porters waiting to take your bags any time of the day or night. Our "check in" / "arrival time" / "bag drop" is all the same thing. Your room: * Private bedroom (with a lockable door) * Queen size bed * All linen, pillows, blankets, towels, etc, provided too * Fully air-conditioned * Wifi Light Breakfast (cereals, fruits, toasts) included: * Breakfasty things and tasty treats * Seasonal Fruits * Bread for toasting * Total access to "the Seinfeld cupboard" * All the Vegemite you can handle * Teas & coffees - We're espresso fiends, please don't blame us if you leave our place fully wired, or addicted to single origin ;p Guest Bathroom (shared): * Shower with instant (full pressure) hot water * Hair-dryer * Towels provided Your Sydney Home: * Amazing views of the Sydney Harbour, White Bay, and Glebe Island * Three level terrace house * Only 2 minutes walk from the centre of Pyrmont * Just minutes walk from everything Sydney offers * Close to the Airport & all public transport * Quiet street * Outdoor deck with seating and water views * Fully air-conditioned * Free wifi throughout the entire house Couple of things you do need to know before you book: --> STEEP STAIRS - Because the house is on three levels, and the stairs are steep, we wouldn't recommend the property for people who like to travel with lots of luggage, people with any mobility issues, or for children. --> TALK WITH US FIRST - Please send us a message & have a chat with us BEFORE you make your reservation request --> THE AVAILABILITY CALENDAR IS ACCURATE - Please only make a reservation request for the exact (and complete) dates that you require. You can use the calendar on our listing to see our availability month by month. If the dates you require are not showing as available on that calendar, it's because we're booked for those dates... Sorry :( --> AGREE ARRIVAL TIMES BEFORE YOU MAKE A RESERVATION REQUEST - Guest arrival time is 6pm. Please see the "Other Things to Note" for more information about arrival times / check in / bag drop details, etc. Message us first about your intended arrival time BEFORE you make a reservation request. --> HAVE A VERIFIED PROFILE - We're much more likely to accept requests from Airbnb'ers with profiles, friends, & recommendations, etc. In the same way you feel more comfortable knowing more about the people you're staying with, we do too. And a profile pic of a cat doesn't really cut it either... PLEASE ASK - Please just send us a message if you've any questions about staying with us, or visiting Sydney. FIVE STAR STAY - Now here's the most important bit: ** Please use the code words; "Five Star Stay" when you message us about your reservation - Just drop those words into your message to us. It lets us know you've read this information and are ready for a fantastic five star hosted experience with us in our Sydney City home. Can't wait to meet you! cheers, Vinh & Stuart PS Well done for reading this far! Most people don't :( Sorry, this is so long, but we know we've answered all your questions now. And remember to use the code words; "Five Star Stay" in your message.
Pyrmont is an inner-city village of Sydney, only about 2kms from the Sydney CBD (Central Business District) / Core, right next door to Darling Harbour and Chinatown. https://www.airbnb.com.au/locations/sydney/pyrmont Pyrmont has a relaxed community feel with an inner city vibe. Pyrmont is only about 2kms (10 - 15 mins walk) from the centre of Sydney with an extensive range of local restaurants, wine bars, and pubs. There's some seriously good baristas and cafes right close to our home (Go and say hi to Damien & Tim at Bar Zini - it's one of our local faves). There's five star fine dining right through to greasy-spoon takeaways with some of Australia's finest dining restaurants within easy reach. * Darling Harbour and Cockle Bay * Exhibition and Convention Centres * Sydney Fish Markets * Pyrama Point Park * Jones Bay Wharf * The Star (Casino) with Food Halls, Bars, and the Lyric Theatre * Powerhouse Museum * National Maritime Museum Also (back on the food - notice a theme?): * Two grocery / supermarkets within an easy walk * Also a great wine-merchant (and craft beers) on the end of our street * Fantastic deli Signorelli Gastronomia round the corner * Food stores, grocery, and supermarkets * Pyrmont Growers Market 1st Saturday monthly; farm direct & artisan foodies. Pyrmont was once a thriving industrial waterfront / working port area with ship-building, factories and wool-stores. Over the last decade there's been a considerable influx of new residents and commercial / residential development that has transformed the area into a trendy mix of inner city residents and commercial HQs. For example Goo gle has their Sydney office, the "Goo gleplex" just down the road, as is Fairfax Media, NOKIA, and the Seven Network (TV). Media Production houses, boutique cable TV channels, etc. The UTS (University of Technology) campus, the ABC's Ultimo headquarters (Australia's National Broadcaster), the Sydney Convention Centre, and the Sydney Entertainment Centre, are all within walking distance. Sydney University is about 20 minutes walk away (only 10 mins in a cab or bus). Eat, drink, and be merry: Being ex-restaurateurs we'd be more than happy to point you in the right direction for a great meal in Sydney. And there's plenty on tap too. You can't walk more than a block in any direction without walking into the front bar of a local pub, or a wine bar, or a great cafe, or restaurant… To give you an idea, there's 9 of Sydney's top 10 restaurants within easy walking distance: * Rockpool * Momofuku Seiobo * Quay * Sepia * Est * Rockpool Bar & Grill * Tetsuya's * Bentley * The Bridge Room And there's plenty of local colour and great tastes whatever your price point or culinary favourite. With a full range of cafes and restaurants in between, right through to the cheap & cheerful Harry's Cafe de Wheels (a late night Sydney institution), Noodle King, and all the vibrant offerings of Chinatown there's no end of options... Modern Australian, Persian, Goan, Japanese, Indonesian, Malay, Italian, Indian... All at our door Must do's (our local faves) in Pyrmont include: * Bar Zini * Gallon * Blue Eye Dragon * Le Trader * Social Brew * Made in Italy * Vrindavan Indian Restaurant * Hamachi-Ya * Kura * Hannah's Pies * Pioik Bakery * Flying Fish * Signorelli Gastronomia * The Apprentice * Brio * Yuzu * Sokyo * Persian Room * BLACK by Ezzard * Cafe Morso * Little Monk Get the idea? (and we haven't even hit Chinatown yet!) Pyrmont is really close to the Sydney CBD and the other inner city villages: * An easy 10 minute walk into the city centre * Shopping: QVB, TGV, etc… "Lacroix Sweetie Lacroix" * Circular Quay, the Sydney Opera House, and BridgeClimb * King Street Wharf * Museum of Contemporary Art * Art Gallery of NSW * Sydney Museum * Hyde Park * Botanic Gardens * Chinatown, Paddy's Markets, and the Chinese Gardens * Surry Hills * Paddington * The historic Rocks area * Kings Cross * CarriageWorks Famers Markets @ Eveleigh every Saturday * Pyrmont Farmer Markets 1st Saturday of the month

  • We stayed in Vinh & Stuarts house for three nights during our three month journey and we felt very welcome right from our arrival. The location is very clean, quiet and is perfect to discover Sydney by foot, as well it has perfect access to public transport, too. We would always stay again in there house and already miss the stunning view from their kitchen. All the best, Caro and Martin

  • Staying with Vinh and Stu was my husband and my first Airbnb experience, and we have nothing but good things to say about it. We spent most of our time out and about, but Vinh and Stu were very accomodating with our early mornings and late(ish) nights, and always available with suggestions for the day or encouragement to try Vegemite. The house was gorgeous and in a great location. Definitely recommended.

  • We had such a nice time here! It is perfectly clean, quiet and comfortable. We loved being so near the water and great restaurants. Vinh and Stuart are great hosts and they have a lovey dog who never ever barks.

  • Vinh & Stuarts place was in a great location for seeing the city. Vinh greeted us when we arrived & got us situated. He was very informative & supportive of us getting our legs under us before jet lag set in. He gave us great ideas for what to see & do. He even loaned us an umbrella because it was raining off & on. We loved using their kitchen to prepare meals(we have food allergies). They gave us our space, but where always available to assist us. We also fell in love with their dog Kenji! What an adorable boy. We would definitely recommend them.

  • We couldn't have had a more enjoyable stay. Great hosts, considerate, accommodating and friendly. Wonderful digs with a lovely view of the harbor and the coffee is as good as they claim. The location is ideal for getting around Sydney and the neighborhood is great for strolling and dining. Sorry to be late, we just returned home on the 3rd. Rick and Lynn

Beautifully stylish, unique and thoughtful design in the most trendy location in Sydney. A short stroll to the hippest cafes, shops and transport to anywhere in the city (5 minutes walk from central station).
Uniquely spacious 1 bedroom flat. The flat is one of two seperate apartments in a heritage listed terrace nestled on a lovely residential street in Surry Hills. Our space flows over the entire bottom floor of the terrace and is accessed by a seperate private door. The space has an open flow between kitchen and lounge areas and the bedroom is tucked in behind a thick (12mm) glass wall with adjustable timber venetian blinds and a block out curtain across the entrance makes for a completely private space. The flat is equipped with anything you might need to make sure your stay is pleasurable; including comfortable leather lounges, a well equipped kitchen with nespresso coffee machine, new dishwasher, ceramic cooktop and stainless appliances (no oven though so if you must have freshly baked muffins for breakfast check the guidebook for some great options at your door step ;-). Wifi is of course provided as well as ample desk space and the TV comes (apart from the free to air channel) with a netflix subscription and access to abc iview and sbs on demand so if you're tired of exploring the city just kick back and relax on the comfortable lounge and catch up with the latest. There is also a tiny, really really small! courtyard out the back that we've earmarked for a herb garden - stay tuned... In a nutshell - the terrace is very well maintained, with renovated interiors but the bones of the terrace are lovely, quirky and old style. Typical Sydney urban living on a leafy quiet street.
Sydney is best known for it's beaches and picture perfect, glistening harbour but in recent years it's starting to give Melbourne a run for it's money when it comes to great bars, amazing food, off centre arts and culture (pronounced as a nasal 'Cultcha'). Surry hills is where it all happens in Sydney - you really can't get closer to the trendy heart of our city than this. Walk to the centre of crown and oxford street central, china town, and the sports venues (SCG, Allianz Stadium and fox studios). We've included some of our favourite neighbourhood haunts as well as some worth checking out further afield. Eating and Drinking in the hood: For great coffee - Rebuen Hills is a roastery and cafe around the corner on albion street. Salary man has AMAZING seasonal food - asian with a modern twist - make sure you book. Tokyo bird Bodega (it's on the list not because WE recommend it but because others will - some people rave about it but we have had some pretty average fare here) Pasta Emilia on Riley is a quaint little italian grocer with THE BEST pasta.. Bills - on crown street is a sydney institution for sunday brunch.. Dimitris Pizza - thin crusted pizza in unassuming surrounds. Our favorite pizza in sydney... Mille Vini nice little italian wine bar and tapas on crown street. For Groceries About Life - on crown street is a good place for organic everything including everything from healthy takeaway to organic shampoo.. Woolworths express on the corner of Elizabeth and foveaux street is good for inner city groceries. Other amenities in the hood: The Library on crown street across from the shannons reserve is a lovely peaceful space. Markets: specialising in handmade, second-hand and recycled goods. The surry hills markets are held on the first Saturday of every month in Shannon Reserve, on the corner of Crown and Collins Streets. Not too further afield in the city: Try out the Spice Alley tucked in a little hidden alley behind george street. The Cooke & Philip swimming pool is a fantastic brutalist concrete truly urban pool. Also don;t miss the White Rabbit Gallery for a touch of very contemporary, very accessible Chinese art housed in a lovely 3 storey rennovated surrounds complete with a tearoom downstairs - great for a rainy day...
  • what a lovely apartment. clean, spacious and welcoming with lots of little touches to make it feel like a home away from home including a super comfortable bed. our apartment in Erskineville was let out to other guests on airbnb and we needed a quick stopgap. really enjoyed exploring the neighborhood as well. highly recommended!

  • What an absolutely lovely stay I had at Noas place. Extremely cozy and had all the essentials you would need for a Stay. The home exceeded my expectations from the photos and it couldn't have been more centrally located within walking distance to anything. I would highly recommend this home and stay there again when returning to Sydney. Thanks again Noa!

    Jay2017-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect, easy, comfortable.

    Luke2017-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment is immaculate and located in a perfect location for all foodies, we recommend reuben hills, mah jong and bad hombres. Surry hills is a close walk to the city and central station is only minutes away. The communication between Noa and myself could not be faulted and she was extremely helpful. I would not hesitate in recommending this to friends and family and we will be back.

    Ashley2017-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • Walking distance from Central station, exceptionally clean, friendly service and extremely pleasurable ambiance this place has. Shame we only booked one night! Highly recommended.

This place is awesome! A 2 bedroom London style Mansion Block (or NYC style) apartment in the heart of Sydney, located in a quiet street moments from Oxford St, Hyde Park, CBD, Surry Hills & Kings Cross. Newly renovated & 100% beautiful.
Having lived in a couple of mansion blocks in central London, I was so surprised to find that style of accommodation right here in the heart of Sydney. Beyond trying to 'sell' how cool the space is, my honest opinion is that not only is this building truly beautiful, it must be (I think) a truly rare and fortunate find in central Sydney. Lucky me/you! :) The room itself is a double with queen bed. Built in mirrored wardrobes, super comfy bed, window into the shared light well for natural light, all new furniture. There are two bays in the wardrobe and I use one as a linen cupboard. There is stacks of room for your stuff in the other bay :) The bathroom is shared, with shower & bath, vanity, and loads of cupboard space for your personal care products. The living area combines kitchen, lounge and a cupboard laundry with washing machine and dryer. There is also a drying rack. The lounge includes a small Juliet balcony accessed through french doors and looks out onto lush deciduous trees (sadly they loose their leaves in winter).
This is my 5th residence in Sydney since moving here in 2012. Having lived in Pott's Point, Kings Cross, Wooloomooloo and Surry Hills, I can now say that Darlinghurst is my personal favourite location of all these, mostly becuase it's right in the middle of them. Surry is 5 minutes walk, KX and Pott's is 7. And you are in fabulous darlo already ;) Bondi is a 30 minute cycle or bus ride away, and in summer I go most weekends to Tamarama, a smaller beach next to Bondi that I really enjoy. If you like the gym, I recommend Fitness First or City Gym, 5 minutes away. The infamous Oxford St is also 5 minutes away for nightlife, Kings Cross, CBD, Circular Quay, Hyde Park, The Domain and Botanical Gardens, Sydney Opera House, all in super close proximity. This is a great spot for visitors and to live too. Check out Time Out Sydney and Urban Walkabout Sydney for details on all these great neighbourhoods. Just do a web search. The site won't let me give you the links directly.
  • Reid was a wonderful host and I felt very comfortable in his beautiful home.

    Jacob2015-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely loved Reid and his place! I will be back

    Mikko2017-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great communication right from the start, easy directions to apartment and what an absolutely beautiful place on arrival! Exactly as described on the app - clean, tidy, inviting - and, considering the location to the city, calm and peaceful. Unfortunately I didn't get to meet Reid, as he went away for the weekend - but I wish I had. Great taste in both furnishings and shoes :)

  • Reid &his house is very nice,Reid is a nice guy,i really like to talk with him,but he always busy.aha. but if i have any question,he always help me to solve this problems.thank him very much.I like him.

  • A five star rating for Reid! I highly recommend staying with Reid if you are planning to visit Sydney. Reid is an amazing host and person and he made me feel very welcome in his home. His place is lovely and the location is superb. If I ever have the chance to come back, I would definitely stay here again. Thank you Reid!

    Marjolijn2016-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • I just had a great stay at Reid's place, which so perfectly located to a very nice neighbourghood of Sydney, very walkable and close to public transport. Room was good and bed fantastic to have a great sleep! :)

    Benjamin2017-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • Reid really goes above and beyond as a host, and provided me with the best possible welcome to Sydney/Australia. The accomodations couldn't be better: centrally located and convenient to public transit, cafes, restaurants, and bars; a spacious, clean, and large room and closet; and every detail, from a welcome book, to Sydney tour books, to small bottles of shampoo/body wash if needed are all provided upon your arrival. Beyond the room and apartment, Reid himself is an wonderfully welcoming and friendly host, providing local recommendations and advice when needed, and ensuring that you have an excellent visit to Sydney. Next time I travel to Sydney, I hope to stay here again. Thanks again Reid!

  • Somehow we were able to make a last-minute booking at Dean & Bron's, and I'm so glad we did! Dean was super accommodating, offering us a glass of wine when we arrived and even letting us take their beautiful dogs out for a stroll in the morning. The room was beautiful and so comfortable, and I'll definitely be re-booking next time I come to Sydney!

    Eileen2015-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • Bron's place was perfect for a short stay in Sydney and was located very close to lots of little cafe's and shops.

    Eveline2016-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Bron was a delightful host that welcomed us with hot cups of tea once we stepped in. A real trendy and fashionable lady, she was really cool. She asked about our trip and was really open to sharing more about her place and neighbourhood. Her pets are adorable as well, you'll enjoy them if you love cats too! The room and whole place was really quirky and plenty of treasures to adore if you had the time. Sadly, we only had less than a day here before we flew back.

    Karmen2016-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • My stay with Bron and Dean is the most enjoyable Airbnb stay so far - they are both wonderful hosts - hospitable, thoughtful and generous with their time. It was great getting spending time with them and their gentle lovely pets in this gorgeous house. Surry Hills is the neighbourhood to stay at - great restaurants, cool bars and shops, very central...and this house is 2minutes walk away to the best gelato, Messina. This is an absolute gem!!

    Joanita2014-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • We have stayed at Bron's place for three nights. The house is so nice and cozy. It is at a good location which is just 12 mins walk from central station and there are many good cafes and restaurants nearby. Our room is comfortable and well decorated. The house smells so good as surrounded by the smell of the candles that made by Bron. We have our own bathroom and Bron provided everything we need. Bron is so nice and friendly, she has quick responses on our booking and gave us many advise on travelling in Sydney. Bron is a great host and her pets are also very friendly and quiet. We will definitely come back next time. Thanks so much.

  • Mel was a friendly host and made us feel comfortable. House is clean and tidy. Recommend this place.

    Erin2015-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Mel had let me know that she maybe wouldn't be at home during my arrival time, but she made sure that I had detailed instructions on how to get to her house and where to find the key. Her home is exactly like advertised and I felt extremely safe. The Redfern-Station and even the Central Station are in walking distance, so it's easy to get around the city. In her neighbourhood you can find Restaurants, Pups and Supermarkets. Mel is super friendly and helpful. She provided me with a list of what to do and what to see in Sydney. Her boyfriend Methew, who isn't around all the time, is also very likeable and not to forget Harry, the cutest dog in the world! Thanks for the relaxing time I had in Sydney and thanks for the awesome Friday night! It was amazing!

    Tanja2016-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • Hey, really enjoyed my time at Mel's place in Redfern, the house is beautiful and the room is as showed. Great location with lot's of nice places to eat nearby. Close to central station and the prince Alfred park which has an outdoor pool. Mel was a lovely host with lots of useful tips and directions. Would defo stay again. Thanks x

    Sinead2015-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • I had a good time at Mel's home. She was always very helpful. The dog of her, Harry, was also cute! The house was such nice with great arts, a terrace and a comfortable living room. I had everything that I needed in my room and the bed was very comfortable, too. In addition it's just a few minutes with the bus to the Hyde Park (to the city). There is a supermarket (5 minutes away), a park and a swimming pool in the neighbourhood. So the location is absolutely perfect!

  • Mel welcomed me on my arrival date and helped me feel like at home. She and her dog Harry are lovely, Mel gave me a lot of local tips and was always there for a nice talk or dinner during the ten weeks. Her house is amazing: clean, tidy, enough space for everyone and looked exactly like on the pictures. Redfern is a great place to stay in Sydney. It's close to supermarkets, train and bus stations, parks and all you need during your stay. You can also walk into the city as it's not far away. I would highly recommend Mel's place and would stay there again.

  • I had a pleasant stay at Mel's. Sorry for causing her late for meeting. She waited us to arrive from airport before went out. I love her house interior, obviously she has a great taste and organize person. And pretty too !! Our room is full with sunshine all day~~ bright and sunny :) big wardrobe for us to hang our clothes. Bed is comfy and warm too. 2 big bottles of water, chocolate bars and one opal card is ready in our room. Clean and tidy bathroom. Good location which is near to the train station. Surrounded by restaurant, cafes and lounge. Harry is a lovely dog too. He always charge down to the door and welcome us home. Left a little gift at the guest room as appreciation for the hospitality. Hope you like it☺️

  • Mel's terrace is the place to be ! This stay wast just amazing! I couldn't ask for more ! The location is great, 20 minutes by walk to the city, 20 minutes by walk to a great area like Surry Hills, Paddington, 20 minutes by bus to Coogee, a beautiful beach. Also you have a new and nice pool at 5 minutes by walk. You are very close to Redfern station, 5 minutes by walk. The home is gorgeous, big, clean, cosy and a decoration with a very good taste. You feel like home... Mel is the best host that you could have. Thanks to Airbnb, I had the amazing chance to meet a good friend ! I had so much fun with Mel ! She's great, friendly, helpful. She helped me to improve my english ( go, come, in, to...now I'm the best with that !!!!!!!!!!) I could use so many good adjectives to describe her! Also, a special mention to Harry, her dog, Harry is so cute and she loves playing with her favourite toy, a little pink pig, so funny!!!!!!! Needless to say, if you hesitate with some others places, forget about them and run to Mel's place! You will not have any regrets. Mel, you already know that, but again I need to tell you that I was so lucky to come across your terrace... Thank you very much for everything, I will take so many wonderful memories of this 8 weeks !

  • Mel was communicative and helpful before arrival. She and her gorgeous dog Harry welcomed me with a glass of wine and friendly chat. I knew Sydney and was happy to organise myself but I'm sure Mel would have helped out if needed. The room was light, bright, clean and comfortable. There were different types of pillows to choose from! Mel left a public transport card with credit, and other useful bits n bobs. I loved my stay and would definitely stay again.

My 34 sqm studio is quietly tucked away yet in the middle of everything. There are a gazillion cafes/bars/supermarkets right downstairs and weekend markets across the road. A pleasant walk by the water takes you to the art gallery, botanic gardens and opera house.
The apartment is on the border between the red-light district (home to some hard characters, weekend party-goers and backpackers) and the gentrified part of the neighbourhood (the 'Paris end' of Potts Point). The 1937 building, originally nurses quarters, definitely needs a facelift but retains its period charm. My flat is renovated so feels fresh. The bathroom has been brightly painted since the photos but the shower temperature is tricky to get right so I often took baths living there, and the bath is nice and deep. Nestled between other apartments overlooking the high street and rear laneway, my flat is on the first floor and faces into a lightwell. This means there is no grand vista but also no street noise, and it's temperate with plenty of natural light. It feels spacious for a studio as the bathroom, kitchen, walk-in wardrobe and bed nook are separate from the central living area. It has a very comfortable double bed and a good fold-out single bed. Below are a patisserie and Thai take-away so kitchen sounds and smells can waft up (I've never found this too intrusive but some guests have mentioned it, see reviews). The most frequent positive feedback I get from guests is around the apartment's decoration/style and location.
I love the harbour-side walk to the Andrew Boy Charlton swimming pool, across the water from the strangely beautiful naval base. The Saturday food markets have a great vibe (I recommend The Butchers Table stall sandwiches and the Vietnamese salads and pho) and the patisserie right next door does amazing chocolate mousse cake and croissants. If you exit the back door of the building you open it onto a tiny hole-in-the-wall cafe called Room 10 which does excellent, and marvellously convenient, coffee. Bourke Street Bakery has underground seating which is warm in winter and cool in summer. The walk to Beare Park on the water takes you through residential streets with nice art deco architecture and past the historic Elizabeth Bay House, which itself has a lovely public garden across the road - both good spots for a picnic. Rushcutter's Bay is a more expansive park, good for jogging, frizbee, playgrounds etc. For brekky I go to a cafe behind my building called Petrol (terrible name, slow service, excellent food!) There is a lot of nightlife in the area - the gay clubbing precinct is nearby, tawdry Kings Cross is in full swing on weekend nights and there are some more sophisticated small bars in Potts Point and on Victoria Street. Close to Sydney's major attractions, the area is full of hotels & hostels, a tourist information booth and places to hire travelling vans, book outback adventures etc. There's an airport shuttle bus which loops around the streets every half hour and the hop-on hop-off city tour bus stops outside my building.
  • Ariana made us feel very welcome and her attention to detail made our experience far better than we expected. She was particularly accommodating and flexible with check in and out times, this helped us immensely. The studio was cozy, clean and comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. The listing was exactly as described, beautifully decorated and was in a perfect location, close to transport, shops, restaurants and parks. Even though it is a small place, my partner and I and our 3 year old were very comfortable. We would recommend it to anyone visiting Sydney.

    Nikki2015-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Ariana is a nice host and gave us useful information. The appartment is very well located very close to the CBD and Opera house and easy to reach. The appartment appears bigger at the pictures than in reality. The shower is dificult to adjust.

    Desi2015-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • Ariana was such a lovely and welcoming host, and her studio apartment was delightful -just the right size, quiet and bright - even better in person than in the photos. Excellently located with easy transport connections and potential to walk to Hyde Park and Darlinghurst. Recommended.

    Amelia2014-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Good central base 5 mins walk from kings cross station or about half hour walk to city centre. Ariana is very freindly and gave some good local knowledge ( walking route, place to shop) I stayed here with my 2 daughters and the place done us fine

    Doug2017-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • Cosy apartment with great location. Walking distance to King's Cross and lovely restaurants. She left a list of detailed instructions and recommendations on nearby restaurants and parks. We have everything we need for a meal in the kitchen expecially the zwilling chef knife :-) We loved the walk to Rushcutters Bay.

    Kai Yee2016-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay with Ariana. Unit was very clean and well appointed, complete with some condiments in the fridge for our use. Great location, close to major transit lines and restaurants. There is even a great farmers market across the street during the weekend. I would definitely stay here again !

    Paul2015-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • I would highly recommend staying at Ariana's apartment, it was close to public transport and within walking distance to the Opera House and Bridge. It was a cosy apartment with everything you need and a very well stocked kitchen.

    Cobie2017-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Ariana was a great host. Easily contactable and quick to reply during the booking stage. The flat was perfect for our needs and easily accommodated 3 of us (1 on the comfortable sofa bed). It was spotless, very well presented and Ariana had left us with an information booklet full of useful hints and tips about the flat and the local area (as well as tea, coffee, milk etc). The location was also great, lots of bars and restaurants nearby. The bridge/opera house etc are all within walking distance (20-25 mins). Ariana was happy to be contacted at any time. I would highly recommend a stay here :-)

A 2 bed room specious apartment with a large living room. We added a day bed, with a comfortable mattress in the living room. (travelers heaven) Happy to give local advice on Sydney. Note, the living room might be occupied until midnight and the TV might be on.
Harbor view apartment! 2nd floor with 2 bedrooms and a large living room with an extra bed in the corner. TV, Netflix and great local movie server. The balcony has an amazing harbor view to relax with your morning coffee or your afternoon drink. The bathroom and toilets are separated to ensure better privacy and easy access. • Inhad a very nice stay at Gil's place. If you don't mind sleeping in the living room which is sometimes occupied this is the perfect place to stay and venture out into Sydney. I can recommend staying with Gil!

    Gabriel2017-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Gil was a very welcoming and accommodating host. The location was great and Gil gave great advice on places to visit in Sydney. I enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend.

  • Recommendable for a short stay

    Dhanish2017-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • I had the pleasure of staying at Gil's place initially for 4 nights when I was attending a conference nearby. What I needed was just a bed and hot shower as I come back late and leave in the mornings, and Gil's place was perfect! It's located at a quiet and safe suburb. Even though it was at a corner in the living room, the bed is very comfortable and warm enough for the winter. I feel energised each morning though the conference was tiring. The house is very clean and well kept, I could even use some basic stuff in Gil's kitchen. You could also enjoy the water view while having breakfast. I also had interesting conversations with Gil and even taught me some Hebrew! Gil's housemate from Peru were hospitable and easy to talk to as well. Gil even allowed me to stay one more night with very short notice as I have unfortunately missed my flight, so thank you Gil! All in all, I had no complains and would recommend this to anyone looking for great value accommodation much better than backpackers!

    Jacqueline2016-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Gil was very responsive with messages and any issues I had about the check in process. The bed area is exactly as stated in the description - in the living room near a tv and work desk. Although it was placed slightly in the walkway to the bathroom/ bedroom area, both Gil and his house mate made sure to give me privacy when needed. Gil gave good recommendations about what to do during my stay and there were times when I had a nice small chat with him. Overall, very pleasant experience and definitely worth the price payed for.

    Julia2016-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Gil and his flatmate is absolutely wonderful person. My first time in sydney has been very memorable because of them. They are very helpful and very easy to get along with. The flat is huge and my bed is a piece of heaven. Its very comfortable and refreshing. I will miss them both and hope to stay with them in my next visit

Studio Room inside a house. It is 100% private with own bedroom, bathroom, and kitchenette (microwave, toaster, electric kettle, mini fridge. NO stove). It has a private entrance and shared outdoor area to enjoy. Ample free unlimited street parking. 6k to city centre (CBD). Bus stops and light rail station (LEICHHARDT NORTH) are minutes walk away. Walking distance to Iron Cove Bay, Callan Park, Bay Run, Leichhardt pool and fitness centre, cafes. Host can lend you bicycles. We have no pets.
California Bungalow in heritage neighbourhood. Wide tree lined street. Private backyard access, no coming and going through the main house required. We are upstairs, you are downstairs. Our cozy brick and cedar bedroom is a self-contained flat after the staircase to upstairs is curtained off for full privacy. The kitchenette has a microwave, electric kettle, toaster and mini fridge (no stove).
Recreation abounds! Iron Cove Bay Run for a pleasant walk, jog or bike ride. Explore the majestic Callan Park, and appreciate its faded glory as a former 19th century "lunatic asylum". Saturdays are good for Sydney's best Farmers Market at Orange Grove school. LPAC Aquatic Centre is 3 blocks away, for heated swimming and workout rooms. Little Italy/Norton St is close and features Bar Italia, Sydney's oldest and best gelato and coffee place. The pubs and restaurants of Rozelle and Balmain are too numerous to mention. These were once colonial convict towns, but the food has improved a lot since then!
  • This is a very comfortable place to stay, it is close to Callan Park and the Light Rail to the City. The studio unit is underneath the main house and there is a back garden to use. The best part for me is close to the city yet feels far away. Jim and Gloria are wonderful hosts. I will be back.

    Howard2017-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • Used Jim's room as a base for my parents on their visit to Sydney. The room had everything they needed to recover from their Jetlag and have a restful sleep as well as pleasant mornings in the backyard. The sofabed was comfortable even for my dad who is a tall man. The location was great for us as we love doing the bay run and were able to show it to my parents on their visit as well as the local markets which were just around the corner. Jim is a very friendly and kind host, he was super flexible when we asked to extend the booking a night earlier as my parents arrived sooner than expected. Everything was exactly as described and Jim's place gets our recommendation as well.

    Moritz2017-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • This place is great for the value, the only downfall is it's a 50$ cab or Uber to get there, but even with that it's a great deal. The location is great, some great Italian food is close and it's right around the corner from a legit Vietnamese spot.

    Paulio44312017-07-21T00:00:00Z

  • Maria was very accommodating and welcoming, the bed was very comfortable and the location convenient. Just a pity that the aircon had broken down on the hottest weekend of the year!

  • I stayed only for one night so i dont have many things to say. But her place was very clean and the bed was comfortable too. Maria was kind and helpful.

    Sungsoon2017-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • The house is clean and comfortable with a good host who is both humorous and helpful. Very well approachable by bus from City (Town Hall Station) within 30 mins. However, you need some planning before going out to catch the public transport. The pool facility was lovely to use, and being so close to the ferry system meant that you could choose multiple travel options. Five Docks, with a supermarket, many food options, and shops of interest, is just a wee bus trip away. If you're looking for a luxurious place to sleep and don't place great demands it's a good place to be. We loved the place and certainly stay there again if we come back.

    Ruhail2017-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • The house is clean and comfortable. The host is good and can be very chatty. While it only takes 30 mins of bus to go to the Town Hall station, you might need to spend some time to wait for the bus, especially on late Weekend nights where there is only one 504 bus per hour. You can check the bus timing at (URL HIDDEN)

    Steven2017-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • It was an uncomfortable stay. Maria was friendly initially, however shortly and for further conversations she started sharing personal and inappropriate information about previous guests, her family and made judgements about myself and my partner. The bedroom was okay to stay in but as she sleeps in the main living room, any use of the apartments facilities was uncomfortable and inconvenient. Her washing was strewn about the kitchen and living areas. The use of her bathroom was limited as she made comments about the length of time and amount of showers previous guests had, and suggested we used the facilities of the communal gym area. We had paid for 4 nights, but left after two as she accused us of taking her phone charger and then proceeded to rush into our room to try and look through our things. Would not recommend staying here.

  • Very tidy and clean apartment, with beautiful views . Communication was easy with the hosts . We had no problems with noise from the construction across the street as the apartment is at the rear of the block Thank you

  • Great choice to stay in Sydney, even though it's not in the CBD you can get there on a bus in 10 minutes. Amy was really nice and was kind enough to let us check in earlier the first day because we had a night flight and arrived at 6am that day. Very comfortable bed, beautiful room with everything you can need for a 5 day stay. She let us some welcome food. Only negative the fact that the street were the house is located is very dark at night, but when you arrive to the porch an automatic light turns on

    Monica2017-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Amy's studio was great for our two night stay. It was only 15min drive to our conference location. Well equiped unit for a couple of nights stay. Overall I would definitely stay again. Amy was fast to reply and very helpful.

    Kirsten2017-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Many thanx to Amy our host. The property was clean fresh and tidy. The location was perfect and close to other ammenities. We would recommend this AirBnB We will be back thank you Amy. Regards Axel and Meredith

  • Perfect in every way.

    Hazel2017-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Amy was a great host and was really easy to communicate with. The room provides the essentials for a short stay: big and comfortable bed, bathroom & shower, TV for late night leisure and is very close to the city with easy public transport. Overall, I would definitely recommend staying here with a great host, modern styled room and prime location.

    Lara2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic! Everything an AirBnB should be.

    Mike2017-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Amy is a fantastic host, with great communications pre-visit and a very warm welcome after a long journey. Accommodation is self-contained with private access (and a driveway if you have a car). Fantastically clean, modern studio with really comfy bed, great shower, kettle and toaster. I was working long hours so didn't explore the area much but there were plenty of eateries nearby, a lovely bay walk and easy access to the city or the countryside. Highly recommend for couples/single travellers

    jon2017-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • This AirB&b is actually a stand alone room with three piece bath in the back yard. You have a private entrance which is great. We loved the room, and the private back yard, with access to laundry, and parking. The covered outdoor space and the big leather couch really made it the perfect relaxing place. Everything about the room was top notch, with lots of extras. There's very easy access to the city busses, that deliver you right down town in 10 minutes. Amy and her family made us feel at home, and welcome. I would highly recommend this AIRB&B to anyone.

This is just a fantastic leafy suburb with plenty of great eateries and patisseries, friendly folk and pets. Within striking distance of CBD yet far enough away to relax and unwind. This traditional working class/seafarers has been "gentrified' but retains its friendliness, charm and goodwill. Some of the best eateries in Sydney can be found between here and Balmain just 2 suburbs away (Rozelle in between)
  • I can sumarize our experience as amazing. This was our first official AIRBNB true experience and we wont regret it. Terry and Shane always replied quickly to all our inquiries before our arrival and once you get to know these guys... you know you are in the right place with the right people. Believe me, you will not find lodging in Sydney that can give you the chance to interact with people, living in a real suburb with all Sydney attractions handy and with a great view from the living room (on clear and rainy days, too) You will find the room clean and friendly guys to assist you in anything possible. The dogs are adorable! Comfy space in all senses. Terry is a great chef and both Shane and Terry are great hosts! Light rail is just a 10 min walk from the house... and if you like spotting planes. .. this is just the place to do it. A warm welcome is awaiting for those staying at their place. Hope we can come back to Sydney soon and stay there. our most sincere gratitude for all the extras and help to you guys! Do not think twice... just book the room or you will miss the chance to feel like a Sydneysider and to meet these two great guys

  • First time travel with Air Bnb, me and my family had an excellent stay in Terry's house. Terry and Shane were so helpful, their dog Gabby and Sam were playful and friendly. They make us feel like home. The house is in the perfect location which u can easily catch a public transport to the city. Love the spectacular view from the balcony. Beside that, Terry is very good in cooking. Love the dinner and dessert provided during the night before we checked out. Highly recommended for single or couple to stay here. No place warm like Terry's house. Definitely will come back again. Cheers

    Evonne 2015-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • Terry's house is really beautiful and he made us feel at home straight away. The private bathroom is great and the photos don't do the view justice! We particularly enjoyed the little touches like the city guides and toiletries.

    Natalie2015-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great accomodation. Terry & Shane are very nice hosts. They even invited us for dinner. Two big dogs, very cute. Room as described, clean, neat, with bathroom ensuite though without door to the bathroom. Room is well equipped with fridge, boiler, tea, coffee, wifi, big TV with netflix. Great view from the balcony. Good location, easy to get downtown, we were provided with an opal card and all the information about the public transport close by. All in all perfect for a trip to Sydney, and it will be even better in future since they plan some renovations in 2017.

    Vroni 2016-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • This home is GREAT! Terry and Shane are kind, and very helpful with everything. The room is beautiful and the view of the city is close and spectacular during the Vivid festival. The two dogs Sam and Gabby are easy to get along with and love attention. Overall my stay with my sister was a 10/10. Highly recommended!

  • very good stay, the ad completely corresponds to reality, terry is really welcoming and we have been immediately at ease

  • The perfect host. Terry made my wife and I feel at home from the start to the end of our stay. He is kind, considerate and generous. The location is perfect, being close to public transport and city. With views to the city from the balcony. Our room was very comfortable....we even had our own bathroom! Thanks Terry.

    Trevor2015-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • On arriving at the house I was greeted by Terry, his partner and their two amazing dogs. They made me feel really welcome and were always helpful during my stay! The room was clean as well as the entire house. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again or recommend them to others! The picture doesn't do the view justice. Terry and Shane were very helpful when it came to utilising public transport and their local knowledge of Sydney was impeccable.

  • Very nice and spacious apartment that was tastefully decorated and with some interesting artwork on the walls. This stay was let down by technology issues. Very poor digital aerial reception on TV and no wi-fi. Hosts need to address this.

  • We stayed at Gilly and Ben's apartment for a week while our friend from the UK came to visit Sydney. We absolutely loved the apartment, it is a beautiful space and had everything we needed (and more)! There is a bus stop right outside that takes you straight into the city and the river ferry is only 5-10 mins walk away. Very nice area! There is a shopping centre just down the road with supermarkets, clothes stores, everything. We would 100% stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Sydney. After we left my friend left his iPad in the apartment and Ben was super helpful and made sure we got it back (he even recharged it for us!). Really lovely people with a gorgeous apartment! Thank you Gilly and Ben. Jade, Ian and Callum.

  • Great place to stay. Gilly and Ben very helpful hosts. Apartment was beautiful and had everything we needed. Only fault wasn't lack of internet, but that was down to the provider not hooking it up properly (Gilly and Ben helpfully provided a mobile internet device to get around it) Would 100% stay here again.
