“One of our favorite places to watch a sunset, The Savannah National Wildlife Refuge is a breathtakingly beautiful place just north of Savannah. While the Refuge is massive and includes parts of Georgia and South Carolina, there is also a four mile loop that can be driven by car. You'll see all sorts of wildlife including lots of alligators, great blue herons, and seasonal bird life. Spottings have also included bald eagles, bobcats, coyotes, gopher tortoises, and snakes! ”

Park
“Of the 2 major parks in Savannah proper, this on has the best walking / jogging track, IMO. 1 1/2 miles around, soft to the feet, and relatively even walking surface. Also, during summer months its home to a local baseball team, the Savannah Bananas! The down side? Not as much cutesy things to do within walking distance immediately around the park, and if you want food, you better bring it with you, or plan to walk to Krystals burger :-/”

Lake
“Feed the ducks! In the neighborhood. Like so much of Savannah...you are welcomed to the park with a statue/public art. Great community park with gorgeous lake views. There is a walking path around the perimeter which gives you great views of the lake, park, etc. There are quite a few picnic shelters, including one large shelter for at least 50 people in center of park. Nice playground area for the little people. ”
