  • A very nice, clean place. It has everything we need and we had a comfortable stay. We particularly like the well-equipped kitchen, and there‘s a supermarket within 5mins away. Would recommend to others who are here to travel around west Dorset.

  • We had an absolutely amazing stay at Nicky’s lovely little apartment! Extremely clean with everything you need for a short stay. Nicky even left a card and bubbly for me as it was my birthday which was much appreciated. Very close proximity to the South West coastal path, a stunning part of the world. Would highly recommend.

Pumpkin View is a lovely quiet loft with its own entrance and private garden which is part of a detached building in the grounds of our home. It sits within the beautiful Frome Valley, and on the Frome Valley Trail which is perfect for walking and cycling. Frome Vauchurch is a tiny hamlet 1/2 a mile from the village of Maiden Newton. The studio has been tastefully decorated and furnished to provide a cosy and comfy base for anyone visiting the area, and looking for a peaceful rural retreat.
Pumpkin View offers a private door and entrance hall with chair, shoe rack, welly boot holder (spare wellies available if you forget yours!), and coat rack. Stairs lead up to the studio, where you will find a well equipped, cosy area with reclining leather sofa, large TV, comfy double bed, and separate bathroom with shower, sink and loo. A microwave, small fridge and toaster are available for guests to use, and tea, coffee and milk are supplied. The space is lovely and warm, with plenty of light streaming through the windows. Guest parking is right outside the entrance door to Pumpkin View, and bicycles can be stored in the entrance hall. Included in the price is a light breakfast of bread, butter, jam & marmalade, a selection of cereals, and milk. Please let us know if you have any other requirements.
Frome vauchurch is a small hamlet with only a handful of houses, and a 12th century church. The Frome Valley Trail runs right past the door! The busy village of Maiden Newton lies 1/2 a mile away, and boasts a train station, newsagent, corner grocery shop, hardware shop, and a petrol station with Spar. There is a dog friendly pub in the village, “The Chalk and Cheese”, just a few minutes walk away, and lots of other lovely places to eat within the local area.
  • Jane was a thoughtful and kindhost and our stay was lovely and peaceful and we had all we needed, thank you.

    Kate2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Such a comfortable stay. Bed really comfy. Shower bigger than it looks. Four legged friends catered for beautifully. Excellent WiFi. Walks are spectacular and plenty available without taking the car. No light pollution so star gazing is incredible. Local shop with opening times until 9pm that stocks anything you might need in one direction of the village and petrol station with a spar in the opposite direction. I will definitely be returning 😄

  • A great little find. We were looking for somewhere to stay whilst visiting my sister and her newborn. Janes communication from the beginning was great and the place was in a perfect location for us, nice and quiet but close to amenities, shop, pub, transport. Inside it was a perfect size for us, nice and clean and cosy and warm. Jane met us on arrival and was very helpful when we got a little bit lost on our way. She showed us round and gave us a couple of tips on where to eat and drink in the village. Easy check in and check out and we’ll certainly be back in the new year and will be recommending to other family and friends going to visit

    Jess2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Pumpkin View with my dog was wonderful! Jane went above & beyond for us. She is a fantastic host! The place was very clean and incredibly comfortable. A brilliant place to have some peace & just relax. The local area is lovely and peaceful with easy access to so many other wonderful places. A great place to stay if you’re using public transport as well. I would highly recommend Jane & Pumpkin View as a wonderful place to stay.

    Jennifer2019-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • Jane is an amazing host, with a lovely guest flat that’s perfect for a getaway as a couple with (or without) dogs. The area is beautiful, very dog-friendly and, all-in-all, it’s a great place to recharge your batteries!

  • My second time staying at Pumpkin View this year, but with my Granddaughter this time. The perfect stay for us, easy for getting to the coast east, south and west, to explore. The loft is cosy and warm with everything we needed for our stay. Jane and Nicky are great host's warm and friendly. Great to see Robbie and the gang again. This is one of those places I shall keep coming back to.

    Carol2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Just what we wanted for planning our walking holiday next year. Lovely and warm and clean. Jane and Nicky gave us a lot of helpful information and were so welcoming.

  • Thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend at Emma and Jack’s place! The lodge was bigger than we expected & spotlessly clean. A lovely big garden with stunning views, & walks from the door. Really easy to find, warm & so peaceful! We could not fault our stay & will definitely return & relax some more!

  • This is a large and comfortable apartment in a beautiful and peaceful setting and this was my second visit; I'm hoping my next one will be in the summer so that I can enjoy sitting outside! The kitchen is well-equipped, the shower is good and the bed is comfortable. Note that, while there is mobile reception, there is no wifi.

  • Magdalena is a fantastic host and the place itself is wonderfully situated and very cozy and private. We had a cracking time and would definitely come again! Thanks so much!

    Louis2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • I recommend Magdalena's studio flat. it is very clean, comfortable and has beautiful views

    New2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • We choose Magdalenas loft as it was local to our friends who we'd come to see. It's a beautiful self contained space enough for our needs. Spotlessly clean. A very easy to find location from main roads, using sat nav. Very pretty village with and excellent pub opposite with good food. Very good communication too from Magdalena for either questions ask or info for us. Thoroughly recommend.

    Kay2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, peaceful studio, exactly as described. It is in a very pretty quiet rural village which has lovely walks by the river. The pub opposite means that you can nip out for a drink or meal. and the views from the studio and balcony are great. It is cosy but big enough for 2 people to sleep, cook and eat comfortably. The bed is really large and everywhere is immaculately clean. Magdalena was a lovely host providing us with local info during our stay and was extremely friendly when we met her.

    Louise2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Magdalena's place was perfect for the local guitar building course I was on (crimson guitars). A ten minute walk across two fields and I was at the venue. The studio was big, recently built, warm and clean. The cooking facilities allowed me to order a Waitrose delivery for the week and not spend a load of money in the local gastro pub. Saying that the pub is really nice, very popular and very close to the studio. Magdalena couldn't have been nicer or more outgoing. I felt very welcome and would gladly recommend her place to anyone. Matt

  • This is charming little flat which is well placed in quiet countryside yet opposite an outstanding country pub in a lovely village. Magdelana was an ideal and attentive host.

    Robert2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Delightful studio located at a very charming village. Across the road from an excellent pub/restaurant. A close drive from Dorchester, you can enjoy a quiet rural landscape and relax easily in this place.

    Renato2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great spot and was perfect for our two night stay in Dorset, lovely stylish place, with thoughtful touches to make you feel welcome. We loved that it was a quiet spot, in a peaceful village - away from the more chaotic bits of Dorset in holiday season. Arrivals info all very helpful, we also had a nice evening meal at the pub over the road which was friendly and good value food. A highly recommended flat if you are looking for a good base to explore this part of Dorset.

  • We had a lovely stay at this property. Check in was easy, nice touches in the annex (fresh milk, bread and shortbread). Sparkling clean, comfy bed and everything you could possibly need in the kitchen area. Overall couldn’t fault at all, lovely stay and would recommend to everyone.

  • Very comfortable, sparklingly clean, modern and cosy. A super place for a couple to go for a break away. Great walking right from the property and lots of good pubs and places to eat in the area. Can’t recommend strongly enough.

  • A superb and cosy apartment. Set in a lovely village with exceptionally friendly and accommodating hosts. Excellent location for access to Yeovil and perfectly placement to get out of the area without having to drive through the town centre. I’d highly recommend to friends and family.

    James2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a delightful spot to spend a few days this is absolutely the place for you. “The Attic” is located on the outskirts of Yeovil in lovely countryside. Bridget is a very thoughtful host and thought of everything to make our stay memorable. The extra touches of homemade shortbread, local bread and homemade jam and marmalade were absolutely delicious. Information for local eating places, interesting places to visit and a plethora of maps and leaflets on local sites made travel around the beautiful Somerset/Dorset countryside easy and very interesting. “The Attic” is spotlessly clean and the bathroom is well equipped with shampoo and lotions. All the bedding and towels were of a superior quality.

    Deirdre2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Bridget was an amazing host, the homemade jams she left us were absolutely delicious (butter and bread included) . She was very quick to respond. We visited Portland bill and Jurassic coast which were both about 40-50 minutes drive. The view of the fields from the balcony were magnificent.

A beautifully relaxing self contained room with stunning views across the isle of Portland and over the sea to the Jurassic coast. Dorset is on your door for all of your land, sea and air adventures. Or just relax with a good book, sitting in the comfy chair watching the clouds go by.
Avalanche Road is named after a tragic incident in the 1800s where the passenger ship the Avalanche collided with the fishing vessel the Forest on an unforgiving night. 2017 will be 143 yrs since the sinking of The Avalanche. The house is a 10 min walk from the sea and you can walk along the coastal path down to Portland Bill lighthouse where you can find the Lobster Pot cafe. The area has a few pubs and places to eat out, the Eight kings pub being the local with good food and real ale ( And a history that involves a cold war Russian spy ring ) The Crab House Cafe Restaurant is an excellent sea food restaurant and a short taxi ride away. Takeaways included Indian, Chinese, Pizza & Fish n Chips. There's a large Tesco and Co op close by.
Great views, nice neighbors, chilled area. Safe parking.
  • Bryn was super communicative, accommodating and thoughtful! Couldn't ask for more.

    Stevie2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely lovely place, self contained loft space with every detail perfectly arranged. We felt very relaxed there. And we were touched by generous welcome. Great place for cliff walks and very nice pub nearby, we went to The George Inn. Thank you Oona and Bryn

    Marta2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This place is absolutely fantastic. The room is situated in the attic of the house and it has everything you need. It has been decorated with taste and it was spotless. Really comfy bed and a cosy space under the windows to enjoy a coffee reading a book. Oona and Bryn were extremely helpful, Oona provide us such a great information about the Isle of Portland, history and places to visit/eat. We stay there during storm Dennis, but we sleep perfectly well, no noise at all. They cater all our dietary requirements and the breakfast was beautiful, with everything you need and more. The cat at the house is georgeus. I am a pet lover and I really enjoy playing with. Such a nice area to discover, I hope we can go back again with sunny weather.

    Beatriz2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • I had an amazing time staying here. I was down to work at the sailing academy and this was the perfect place to go. My room was beautifully prepared with lots of thoughtful touches including a great breakfast and coffee. Would definitely like to stay here again.

    Johnny2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • The flat was great. It had everything we needed and more. Great views and a really comfortable space. The hosts are really accommodating. Definitely recommend!

    Hannah2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Bryn (and Oona) were fabulous hosts. The place was SPOTLESSLY clean. Cosy room, full of so many thoughtful homely touches. Just brilliant. (The food board and pastries were also a lovely touch).

    Mackenzie2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Well equipped room, nice, comfortable bed, very clean, the meat plate and cheese was delicious and Oona very helpful. She is really nice and friendly. Unfortunately we haven't met Bryn. We definitely will come back.

    Orsolya2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Bryn & Oona's hospitality and provision was above and beyond the norm. Bryn was a wonderful host, so helpful (we did not meet Oona) and the loft conversion was a fabulous place to stay. Clean, cleverly thought out with everything we could need and more! It was warm, cosy and very comfy, a real home from home with a spectacular view. We could happily have stayed in this place for a week, large bathroom also. We were provided with a lavish breakfast of cereal, juice, cold meat and cheeses, rolls, croissants & jam, there was even some chocolate on our arrival which was most welcome after a long days riding.... all delicious. Super coffee too. Perfect parking for our motorbikes safe outside. A great choice of programs and films also on TV/Firestick, we would HIGHLY recommend this place, you will not be disappointed and will be made to feel right at home. Perfect location for visiting Portland Bill.

Located on the beautiful coastline, the town is bordered by the channel, a stretch of water historically significant: from the invasion of William the Conqueror and his Norman knights, to the Battle of Britain in the Second World War. The town is populated with a huge variety of high-street shops and two Michelin star restaurants: Arbor and Neo. The square separating Bournemouth’s long high street plays host to a huge variety of entertainment – from drumming bands and circus skills in the summer; to outdoor carol concerts and the Christmas market in the winter time. At the end of August each year, the town hosts Bournemouth Air Festival, one of the largest air shows in Europe, combining aerobatic prowess, naval efficiency, and many exhibitions at ground level. At the end of August each year, the town hosts Bournemouth Air Festival, one of the largest air shows in Europe, combining aerobatic prowess, naval efficiency, and many exhibitions at ground level. If military history is your cup of Dorset tea, why not visit the Bovington Tank Museum and understand why the metal machine's history is inter-linked with Dorset's own.

  • I can’t recommend this place enough, Laurence & Fran are so welcoming, me & my 2 teenage girls just stayed the best part of a week & we all loved it, we were in the family room which is very spacious, really clean & the beds are amazingly comfy, we felt at home right away. The breakfast was so good, we definitely weren’t left hungry! It’s also very close to everything so only 10/15 mins walk from the harbour & beach. We’re looking forward to staying again.

  • If you want to have a perfect stay in Weymount I highly recommend to stay at Laurence’s place. It’s the perfect location from train station and the beach! They care about special request and make you feel super cozy at their home. They spent time to prepare a traditional english breakfast for us as well :)

    Lance2018-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful spot, lovely and quiet. Great hot job.

    James2018-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Stunning place in a beautiful location. The Hayloft was a very spacious, clean and modern barn situated in the scenic country side. Only downsides of the location being the poor phone signal and that you need a car to get around which are both to be expected! The site itself was incredibly well kept and great for local walks. The communal jacuzzi and pool were immaculate and we had it to ourselves most of the time unless there were kids’ swimming lessons. Claire was a friendly and helpful host. My partner and I really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it however there are a lot of rules/FYI’s to be aware of before/upon booking.

The Hayloft is an open plan living space with its own entrance. It is within walking distance of the historic market town of Ringwood, offering a variety of restaurants, shops and cafes. It is a great base from which to explore the New Forest National Park on foot, by bike or by car and is situated on a main bus route between the award winning beaches of Bournemouth and the city of Salisbury. The property consists of a king size bed and a single sofa bed with ensuite shower facilities.
The Hayloft is suitable for couples or a family with children but access is via an external wooden staircase so young children would need to be closely supervised and it would not be suitable for people with mobility impairments. Please note that there are no kitchen cooking facilities in the hayloft other than a toaster, microwave and tea/coffee making facilities.
The property is located in a large front garden, accessed via a quiet country lane.
  • Great stay in the cosy Hayloft while we were in the area for a cycling event. It was exactly as described and ideal for the two of us. Kate had provided breakfast things, fruit, milk, tea and coffee so we were able to have something at 6.00am. Location is nice and peaceful and a 20 min easy walk into Ringwood. All in all recommended.

    Alan2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • The Hayloft is an excellent space for couples or families with young children. there is plenty of space to run around and not get in each others way. The variety of breakfast provided was excellent. It was so peaceful and wonderfully quiet at night. Would definitely go back if we were staying around there again.

    Michael2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • A delightful and elegant space. Kate and her family couldn’t be more hospitable.

    Susan2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • We couldn’t have asked for better accommodation at the Hayloft. The space was clean and spacious for myself, partner and toddler. The room had everything you needed and made it seem like a self contained apartment. Lovely touches of breakfast food, fruit, milk etc all already in the room. My son loved there was also use of the family garden with toys and loved waking up and watching the chickens run round. The location was absolutely perfect to explore the new forest and surrounding areas. We hope to definately come back again. Thank you again Kate and family for being lovely hosts

    Cara2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • The hayloft is a really lovely, clean and peaceful space which was ideal for us with a 3 year old - she loved playing in the garden and on the trampoline! Extremely clean, and the cereals tea and coffee and cold drinks in the fridge were a really lovely added extra for us, as were plenty of clean towels! Very good value for money and very lovely hosts to stay with :)

    Amelia2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • First class host. Lovely clean room. Excellent location. We had a brilliant time - Thank you

    Ian2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • We stopped here for a couple nights on our way to Dorset. My kids loved the tree house and trampoline, and had a lot of fun playing with their boys. It’s about 5 minutes from Moor Valley where we spent the day. Ringwood is also close with lots of shops and restaurants. The only minor issue was the sofa bed was fairly small, only suitable for small children I think. Everything else was great and I recommend this spot if you’re in the area.

  • Loved this cabin, set in the idyllic village of Irwerne Minster. Friends and I loved exploring the Dorset area, and retreating back to this cosy and perfectly thought-out studio.

    Lucy2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Sam's place was great! We wanted to escape London for a few nights over New Years and stumbled onto this, which was perfect for us. The studio loft itself was super comfortable with a few extra nice, personal touches by Sam. The fireplace and boardgames got a decent workout when we were just hanging out too. Location is a good base, but you definitely need a car to get around the local areas and villages. We did a few adventures to the Dorset, Bath and Somerset regions, stopping in at pubs and sights to see along the way. If only we didn't have to go back to work! Would gladly stay again. Thanks!
