“Cadouin has been the site of pilgrimages dating back almost 1000 years. Its famous Abbey is a UNESCO world heritage site and the audio-guided tour of the Abbey Cloisters is quite spectacular. Over and above the architecture and historical interest of Cadouin there are lovely shops, restaurants, galleries, cafés, a tabac and bakery. Market days are on Wednesdays.”

“Medieval and Renaissance chateau - two for the price of one! Stunning views from top of medieval castle tower. Bourdeilles also has an outdoor swimming pool, so take your costume if you fancy a swim. Selection of bars and restaurants around the pretty, sleepy town square. Bourdeilles also hosts fairly regular brocantes (flea market), so look out for signs advertising these.”

Natural Feature
“The Lac de L'Escourou is very close to us - less than a five minute drive away. There is a footpath/ cycle path around the lake (about 9k) and some nice picnic spots. The upper part of the lake (2k circuit) is a nature reserve with hides for bird watching and information boards on the flora and fauna (some interactive ones for children).”
