“Gozsdu-udvar (English: Gozsdu Courtyard) comprises seven buildings and their courtyards in the 7th district of Budapest. Gozsdu Courtyard is one of the most dynamically improving nightlife centres in the downtown of Budapest; it is a meeting point that combines entertainment, gastronomy and culture.  ”

“I am recommending this spot only because it is quite an important party scene in Budapest with plenty of bars, restaurants and night clubs. However it is also very touristy so am trying to avoid it most of the time myself. But you can have a beer here just to taste the atmosphere - and if you like it, go for it!”

“New York Palace Café This is like a renaissance palace which is full of sparkling chandeliers dangling from high ceilings adorned by spectacular frescoes, it's one of the oldest cafes in Budapest, dating back 125 years. The menu is made up of Hungary's most traditional desserts, including around 16 cakes, but of course, it's not only the cuisine that everyone comes here for -- it's the magnificent setting. And , of course the history. In fact, Hungary's most influential newspapers were edited on the second floor of the building. According to legend, on its opening night, a group of writers, including renowned author Molnár Ferenc, were so taken with the place, they threw the key to the main door into the Danube so that it could stay open all night ;-) ”

“From panoramic igloos to glass-fronted terraces augmenting Art Nouveau hotels, Budapest has any number of terraces to sip mulled wine in the warmth of indoors while watching the snow fall and Christmas lights tinkle. Some are seasonal additions or conversions to popular alfresco spots in summer, others imaginative creations that have only been unveiled this year. Those operating as extensions to top-notch restaurants can offer fine fare to go with your glass of red, a surprisingly affordable experience particularly if you factor in lunchtime deals as well. Live music is an occasional feature, DJs too.”

“I'd personally like to recommend this restaurant for it's unique design and friendly cicrcumstances. Not just for it's design , but for it's delicious menu. (Vintage Garden is also perfect for taking pictures for instagram or facebook ;) ) You can enter it the same way as Gozsdu Yard and the exit leads to Dob street. Ellátóház ruin pub and the Jewish quarter is nearby (just a couple minutes on feet) ”

“What is it? An award-winning restaurant with a wine list longer than your table. Why go? József Bock is the man behind the wine list here. His ancestors have been making wine for nine generations in the Villány region of Hungary. (Since the 18th century!) More than two-dozen of the family’s wines are on the menu at this little gem in District 7 – as well as other vintages. Food wise the joint keeps it old school too, with a menu of traditional Hungarian dishes and classic local flavours. Think steak, beef tartare ‘sandwiches’ and cucumber salads. Make sure to pre-book, you’re unlikely to get a table otherwise.”
