Vacation Rentals in Dillon Beach

Just booked in Dillon Beach

Our charming and quiet, one bedroom historic cottage reflects a comfortable getaway! It is located in the heart of historic Tomales, 3 miles from the ocean and is adjacent to Tomales Bay and nearby Point Reyes National Seashore. Great for strolling, hiking, kayaking, bicycling, and just resting & relaxing.
Marinette, situated in the historic village of Tomales, Ca, is a historic cottage at the edge of town and offers a welcome and private retreat for visitors and travelers to scenic Northwest Marin County. Tomales has a rich social and architectural heritage and is surrounded by open hills and agriculture, most of which is protected into perpetuity by Marin Agricultural Land Trust. If you are seeking 'a home away from home' base that offers rest and relaxation, and the sounds of birds, village life, church bells on Sunday, and an occasional cow mooing, you have found the right space. We welcome you to Marinette, Historic Garden Cottage.
Our cottage, the "Marinette," located just off Highway 1 and three doors east from the bakery and deli. This one bedroom cottage comfortably sleeps 2-3 people. Just a 5 minute drive to Dillon Beach and 25 minutes to the Point Reyes National Seashore makes this destination perfect for simple relaxation or outdoor adventures such as hiking, kayaking, cycling, whale watching or exploring the back roads of coastal Marin.
  • Thank you for hosting Akua , our wedding officiant!

  • Our stay at the Marinette was lovely! The cottage is so charming, and historic without giving up modern conveniences. The pictures are accurate and the cottage was actually much bigger than I expected! Donna is warm and friendly and even gave us a tour of her wonderful garden. She and her husband have created great ambience, while still keeping things airy and spacious. We appreciated all the decorative details, like the fresh cut flower arrangement, books and other reading material, and pictures on the walls. The town (village?) of Tomales had what we needed, namely a bakery, a few food options, and a playground! (We have a 10 month old.) It is also situated close to both Pt. Reyes and Bodega Bay, and only a few minutes drive from Dillon Beach. Note to other parents of babies: We have a small pack and play, which just fit in the bedroom -- if you have a larger one, you might have to set it up in the living room.

  • Everything was great. Donna made us feel very welcome and the cottage was adorable. Very pretty, fresh, clean, light and beautiful. It's right in town and just as described. My daughter and I loved it. It was perfect!

    Marilyn2015-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the Marinette was wonderful, peaceful and exactly what we were looking for. From her warm greeting, to detailed advice on local activities, Donna was helpful and enthusiastic. She made us feel very welcome. The cottage is exactly as described - except something you don't notice from the photos is the wonderful attention to detail especially with the woodwork, done with original Redwood. This is a historic place and definitely is a great place to explore Tomales. Make sure you grab a pastry from the bakery down the road!

    Yusuf2015-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • Adorable cottage, friendly host, and quaint area. Close to the bakery but didn't get to try it because it was closed. Nice that there were blinds on the doors to ensure privacy. Kitchen was nicely equipped and Donna was not only welcoming but a knowledgeable resource on local attractions.

    Stephanie2015-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived at 3 PM and received an orientation to the beautiful cabin. The cabin is neat and clean with many custom made Redwood cabinets. The new futon was very comfortable. Donna's recommendations for restaurants were helpful. We want to return for a longer visit.

    Ollie 2015-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Donna was very welcoming and friendly. She shared her knowledge of the history of the area, which we really appreciated. The cottage was lovely and very clean. You can see the work that has gone into remodeling this cottage. There was a stack of clean towels, nice soap and even fresh flowers. The kitchen was well stocked and organized. The bed was very comfortable. The location was great, a half a block from a great bakery--perfect for breakfast. The little town of Tomales is darling--and a great place to end a day of wine tasting in Sonoma or hiking in Point Reyes.

    Cindy2014-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time staying at the Marinette! It's located conveniently in central Tomales, right near a delicious bakery. Donna has been a great host, telling us about the history of the cottage and Tomales in general upon arrival. There are many beautiful details in the cottage that we enjoyed. We came up there for the bioluminescence kayak tour at night in the bay and enjoyed Tomales, Dillon Beach and surrounding areas during the day before heading back home.

  • The location was awesome and there was ample room in the home.

    Lisette2017-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing house! An incredible view, with multiple decks, and everything you need to cook for/host a big group. The seclusion was great, but get all the groceries you need in advance, as a store with selection is over 30 min away. Enjoy this incredible place!

    Jamie2017-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great view. Also great view. Thirdly- the view. The place is great - kitchen is nice and well stocked and the furnishings and layout are great for a large group (10 or so). But the view.

    Travis2016-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • This is a spectacular venue! The pictures represent the property accurately. Everything was great during our stay. The kitchen is very well appointed for cooking...blender, mixer, even a cuisinart. Great responsivity from the management group on any questions. It's a good distance from a regular grocery store so stock up before heading to the property.

    Tambria 2017-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful location. Check in was easy. House had some minor issues (sticky doors) but overall great.

    Ingo2017-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing house with spectacular views. Easy booking and communication, however be sure to note there's little reception there so plan accordingly. House was spectacular and well stocked with everything and anything you may need for an amazing vacation. Will definitely visit again, thanks Lowell!

  • AMAZING views. If you're going to Dillon Beach and will spend most of your time gazing at the waves, you can't do much better than this. Great place for people with dogs. The beach is incredible and just across the street. The bungalow is cozy and the hut tub is a great addition. The back deck needs some TLC but overall we had a great stay and we'd definitely go back.

  • Great location, amazing for a dog. Cozy beach. Great stay.

    Chabeli2017-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay. The beach house is located in a small quiet community, so relaxation came easy and the beach was well used, but not at all packed. It's dog friendly, which was a plus, and Ben was also welcoming of our well behaved canine guests. The beach was steps away and the site of it from the large windows was beautiful. With open windows, you could hear the surf quite easily add well. For our "relaxation days" it was nice to have a cafe and small store within a short walk. For our "get out and do" days, San Fransisco was about an hour 1/2 away.

    Vanessa2017-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • The beach walks are great. This is really a nice location. The place has weathered a bit since the pictures were taken, but it was clean and had all we needed to enjoy our time there.

    Patric2017-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is one amazing place

    Clint2017-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • What we enjoyed the most about Ben's place in Dillon Beach was the location, which affords stunning views of the beach and sunsets and two-minute access to the beach on foot. The house exhibits neglect and poor maintenance, especially in the kitchen. I hope Ben invests some effort and TLC to bring the amenities up to par with the unbeatable views. We gave him a detailed list of what needs attention and repair.

    Claire2017-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect little get away. Great location, it was overcast and chilly while we were there, but it's right on the beach. As others mention, it's definitely an older location, but what I expect for a beach hideaway. One thing we didn't realize is how far it is from restaurants and stores (which was great for what we wanted). But in case you aren't familiar with the location, come prepared with food/snacks especially since most places close early or are 30mins away. We had most our meals at Estero Cafe in Valley Ford (local and awesome). All in all we enjoyed this little hideaway.

    lucy2017-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay! Access to beach is excellent. Views are wonderful. Home is charming. Yard is in need of some TLC, but was still very functional. Will definitely recommend to our friends.

  • The beach house is less than a 15 minute walk to the beach. We had one person drive to the beach parking lot with heavier items such as the coolers. But the rest of us chose to walk as it was such a nice day. As soon as the fog burns off ( and one day there was no fog at all!) the house truly has amazing views of the ocean and beach. The beds must be temperapedic or at least the queen bed downstairs that I slept in was because it was very comfortable. We often saw deer outside our windows as well. The hot tub was quite nice to enjoy at night. The houses are somewhat near eachother so if you use the hot tub at night be aware of your volume level. We had no issues with the wifi in the home, ATT users just note that cell service is limited but Verizon had no trouble. Overall a nice house on the beach with plenty of room for the 10 girls we had staying.

    Colette2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place has an amazing view, walkable to the beach, fantastic for family gatherings, and a quiet place to relax. I stayed here with just 3 other people but it has beds for several couples / children. Fully stocked toiletries, washer/dryer, and the hot tub is nice for relaxing. Jen, stayed in communication the entire time and helped with my stay. You may need to sign a separate contract if you have a large group, so check with the owner.

    Mike2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • The view is amazing!! The pictures say it all! Thanks, Jen

    Diana2017-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • All good. Will remember this place. Quiet wonderful town. No commercial activity which suited me just fine.

    Chris2017-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great house with a gorgeous view of the coast. Open floor plan, really good for a group and Jen was very helpful as a host. Highly recommend!

  • My family really enjoyed stay at Jen's house! Breathtaking view from most of the rooms, clean and comfirtable. We brought our 2 little dogs with us, the small sideyard was just right for them! 2 bags of dog treats were there when we arrived, very thoughtful and sweet of Jen!! Thank you for having us there for a week!! I will definitly recommend this house!!

    Pei Shuan2017-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • The Dillon Beach house is relaxing and perfect for a group. The views are incredible! Don't be fooled by the coastal fog, it's still worth going to the beach for a refreshing walk. I went running with my dog on the beach and we both had the best time ever! I was surprised at how warm it was, even in the foggy evening! Highly recommend going to Hog Island Oyster Co for a picnic and a beer!

    Liz2017-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • This house is absolutely stunning with an incredible view of Dillon Beach. We really enjoyed staying here. Plenty of space for 12 people and the house was in great shape. We love the hot tub and mostly just hanging around upstairs. Also note there isn't a lot of cell reception around here, but the wifi was great to stay connected. We really loved this place for our retreat and would definitely come back!

  • She is quick to answer messages and to help out in any way she can. The studio is a lovely place to stay either for just a night while passing through or if you wanted to stay for a longer period of time. Everything is essentially in walking distance, food, beach etc...

  • We stayed at Eileen's during the week, so it was supremely quiet, and we loved how accessible the beach was to us. The little general store is right across the street, which helped us with forgotten toiletries, but also offers organic options of dairy and pretty good ingredients for quick meal! The place is perfectly sweet and humble and has everything you need for a beach weekend.

    Monica2017-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • This was an awesome little studio in Dillon Beach. My wife, dog, and I spent the day driving up the coast having oysters, mead, and cider and made it to the studio in time to walk down to the beach to catch the sunset. Eileen was a great host, she made sure we were comfortable when we got there and gave some suggestions of things to do in the area. Even though the studio is connected to her home it's separated by a storage room and we didn't notice her again all night.

    Kyle2016-11-21T00:00:00Z
  • The location was the best feature. Loved being able to walk down to the beach to watch the sunset with a glass of wine and not have to worry about driving. The room was comfortable and had all of the necessities. The host was helpful and friendly when we checked in but otherwise left us alone. We would stay here again.

    Brenda2017-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • Cute decorations and very private- drive up is magical and feels like Ireland. Beach is close but they make you pay no matter how long you want to go.

    Delaney2017-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • The location is spectacular, just a short walk down the street to the beach. My family of 4 felt comfortable and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Eileen provided an extra mattress for my daughter's to sleep on which was a great help. The small kitchen was perfect for preparing meals for a few days. Definitely convenient to have the store across the street for anything we forgot to bring.

  • The ocean view of this house is breathtaking. Totally unobstructed and completely panoramic. The house is large and comfortable for a group of 8-10. Their hot tub is the biggest I have ever seen. Dillon Beach is a very short drive from the house. Dillon Beach is a hidden gem. I will return...

  • My family and I were so glad to have stayed in this property! More than a week later and everyone is still raving about it. The views were amazing and we really loved the fact that it could accommodate a big family. The kitchen, for example, had all the cooking supplies we needed to prepare dinners. Shelly was a great host and was super responsive for when I had questions. I would not hesitate in booking the property again in the future.

    Katrina2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • The views here are jaw-dropping. This is a dream house and a true gem. The beach is beautiful, and the nearby hikes are spectacular. The house was very clean and spacious, and everything was smooth. Our family had a wonderful vacation!

  • A beautiful place perched on the upper cliffs overlooking Dillon Beach. We were treated to a ruby red sunset every night. The house has a serene decor that is elegant yet super functional at the same time. It has all the kitchen accessories you need to stir up yummy meals and enjoy the view outside while you eat. The beds were very comfy. Everything was great!

  • This was a beautiful house, very spacious living area was great for our group. The views and patios were beautiful and the neighborhood was very quiet. There were three private bedrooms which were nicely appointed, and some other slightly less private sleeping arrangements (sofa bed and bunk beds) which worked out for our group as not everyone was couples. The location is really beautiful. Everything went smoothly with booking and communicatino with Stace.

    Amanda2014-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • Northern Lights was a beautiful home, and Stace and her team did a terrific job. The home was ready as described in the beautiful Dillon Beach community. Note that parking logistics can be a bit tricky with larger groups because of the four car limit. As is clearly explained in all the materials, this is an HOA restriction rather than a home owner rule. Plan accordingly. The only hiccup was a power outage Saturday morning which affected about a thousand homes in the area. But Stace's team handled this very well--in fact, I received a phone call from them before we even realized the power was out. Because the house has a tank-less heating system, this delayed some morning showers, but within two hours the power had been fixed. (Note that AT&T's cellular service is a bit spotty in the house if that's your carrier.) Many thanks to Stace for a memorable weekend. I would highly recommend this property for groups of up to 12 people (and would happily stay there again).

    Jonathan2016-04-25T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place, even better than the pictures (both the interior and the views). The house was well organized, Stace was responsive to questions I had beforehand regarding logistics, and there were clear house instructions laid out once we arrived. I would stay at Northern Lights again - great place for a weekend with family or friends.

    Matt2015-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • This was a gorgeous house and the perfect escape from the city for a weekend! Beautifully nestled atop the hills of Dillon beach it had a semi-ocean view and a great balcony to enjoy a glass of wine and watch the sunset.

    Jenna2016-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Our host was excellent and available as needed; the home is very beautiful, comfortable, has a fully equipped kitchen, and is a walk to the beach or through cow pastures to the bluffs.

    Jeanne2016-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • This home was beautiful and in a beautiful location! I highly recommend this home if you are traveling to the Bay Area.

    Barry2017-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely house up in the hills of Dillon beach area. Nice views, great layout and kitchen. Would recommend.

    Katie2015-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • Stace was wonderful - really helpful and highly communicative. She's also a wonderful host! When we arrived the house was heated, jazz was on and the lights were bright. We felt instantly at home. The beds were comfortable and the decor was so wonderful The ladies on our retreat really felt inspired by the lovely place and the incredible views. We were surprised to see deer on the hillside in the mist both mornings - everyone had their phones out taking pictures. :) The beach was close, and we visited it briefly twice. We were hoping to order in food on our last night, but Dillon Beach is remote enough that we couldn't find a restaurant to deliver so we ended up sending a driver 35 minutes away for some truly amazing Indian food. That's the only low point, and it was a fair trade for how secluded, wild, and lovely the location was. Northern Lights was a perfect getaway from San Francisco.

Such an ideal spot for me and my friends. It had everything we needed and more! Ann and Henry were quick to respond to any of my inquiries; they even allowed us to do a late check out. • My family enjoyed this beautifully remodeled new beach bungalow by Dillon Beach. It was very clean, had everything we needed and more. We will certainly be back again in the coming months. Ann was so detailed in terms of knowing the ins and outs of the house; we felt so comfortable the minute we met her. Great place, close to the beach.....we can't wait to go back.

This original home is quiet, comfortable and a 10 minute walking distance to the beach. There are two bedrooms with comfortable beds, and a foldout couch. Bathroom with a tub/shower combination. Full kitchen with a well-stocked spice cabinet, dining room and large deck with Weber BBQ. There is no cable or satellite tv, but there is a TV/DVD player with lots of DVDs, board games and beach toys - all of which you're welcome to use. Or you can just relax in the hammock and watch the clouds go by.
Original, arty decor creates a feast for the eyes. Hardwood floors, folk art and a cool vibe will make you feel cheerful and relaxed as you unwind after a long day of surfing, playing or just hanging out on the beach. Dillon Beach is a beautiful, dog friendly beach. It is also a short drive to Pt. Reyes National Sea Shore, Bodega Bay and the wine country. The living area is open and spacious with separate dining and sunken living room. Two bedrooms, bath and a crow's nest upstairs. There is a large enclosed deck sheltered from the wind, with outdoor table, chairs and a cozy hammock. Off street parking for two cars and pet friendly. TV for playing DVDs only. NO cable or satellite service. BBQ.
Our home is in 'The Village' which is the original Dillon Beach development. It has a wonderful collection of homes, some built in the 20's, some more recently. It has a wonderful, small California beach town vibe.

  • Host was very nice. Was communication by phone. We had a perfect weather. The house is much better than the pictures show. Cool 70s design,it is comfortable and cozy. Its a good location(walking distance to the beach). Highly recommend it for get away weekend with friends and family. Will come back here for sure.

  • Nice house and very comfortable. Everything you need to cook and enjoy the house. Beds are comfortable. About 10 minute walk to the beach. All amenities are very nice. We liked it as it is dog friendly. My only hesitation is that the road is out front and cars drive by fast (though not many) and you should have your dog leased. We enjoyed our stay.

    John/Phyllis2017-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • The house was very comfortable and clean with lots of great DVDs to enjoy! Jill was a kind and considerate host. Dillon Beach was just a short walk away and my family had so much fun flying kites and watching the many dogs play along the beach! Thanks for a great stay!

We worked very hard to get all of the 5-star reviews you'll see in our first year as hosts with AirBNB. You can read them and see that our cottage is the perfect spot for couples to enjoy everything about Dillon Beach. Some of the things that our guests liked best are the ocean views, the location which is close to everything, the modern fully stocked kitchen, the comfortable king size bed, and a nice bottle of wine by the fireplace or on the deck. Plus we are pet friendly, so bring your pet.
Our newly remodeled home is located in the heart of Dillon Beach within walking distance to the beach, the Dillon Beach Store and Cafe. You can see the beautiful ocean views and sunsets over the Pacific Ocean and Point Reyes National Seashore. Listen to the waves from our comfortable King size bed. You’ll love our cozy little village cottage with all the modern conveniences including Gas Fire Place, DirecTV and High Speed Internet Access. My place is great for romantic couples, surfers, whale watchers and solo adventurers along with their pets. Drive about an hour south to the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco, an hour east to Wine Country, or an hour north to the Redwood Forests.
  • this home was lovely. perfect. It had everything we needed. spotless and all decorated for Christmas. we loved it. Its prefect for two

  • Beautiful views and quiet location, perfect weekend away.

    Rosa2017-04-09T00:00:00Z
  • This is a sweet little cottage for one or two, and maybe a young child could sleep on the comfy couch. It is clean and well appointed. There was a nice welcome note from Dennis and a lovely bottle of Chardonnay and snacks to greet me. Some excellent coffee as well. It's a perfect walk to the beach, store and cafe. The views are amazing and I found it to be the ideal retreat for me to unplug. Folks should know though, that AT&T cell service is nonexistent there unless you find the perfect spot down at the beach and then it's sketchy. There is no pay phone in Dillon Beach either. I'm a senior and felt a little uneasy not having a phone. There is Wi-fi there and maybe there's a way to access it by my cell, but I'm not tech savvy enough to figure it out. If you want a great place to stare at the beautiful sea, this is it. If you want to swim, better go down south. It's pretty chilly at Dillon Beach, even on a sunny day. But it's an easy beautiful drive. I came from Napa and didn't even have to get on the freeway. Yay!!! Beautiful farmland to drive through. Am going back next year!

    Lynda2017-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful little place with top notch kitchen, bedroom, bath and spectacular views of the bay! Short walk to the beach!

  • The surf house is in a great spot, 1 minute walk to the beach, the cafe and the market. Dillon beach is quite secluded but a great weekend getaway and you can't get better than Dennis' place! Accommodations and hosts were great, and our little pup Sammie had the best time ever!

    Heather2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect little beach house if you're looking for a getaway to the coast. The weather is nice and cool and the beach is completely dog friendly. Our dogs had a blast! I would highly recommend this place!

Our custom-designed beachhouse is perched on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean and offers spectacular panoramic views from every room. It's a perfect retreat from everyday life. Relax in one of two living areas or on one of the decks, and toast the sunset with local wines. Walk along sandy Dillon Beach, hike to the estero, fish from the many coves, kayak, surf, paddleboard or kiteboard at the beach, eat oysters from the pristine Tomales Bay, or curl up with a book on the couch.
This is a beautiful, spacious home that makes you feel a million miles away from it all!
This is a gorgeous beach environment where every season brings new delights whether watching whale migration or crab boats bringing in their catch!

  • What a great location! If you're thinking of renting this house, do it! Amazing views and comfortable accommodations with all the amenities you could want. Dillon Beach is fairly remote with limited dining options, so take advantage of grocery shopping in Petaluma and plan to make some meals at the house while watching the sunset.

    Molly2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • The view is AMAZING. The best view of any any house or hotel I have ever stayed at. Overall the house was great. The house had everything you could ask from plenty of pots and pans to toys for our 3 and 6yr old boys and there is plenty of space. Given the chance we will definitely stay here again. The house was tastefully decorated. Dillon Beach is a very tiny beach town so plan ahead when heading here.

  • Terrific spot

    Drew2017-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • There’s nothing like hearing the relentless pounding of the waves all night. We woke up to a heard of feral deer grazing on a field of yellow flowers outside our window. Students of architecture will love the modernist, all wood design and the wide-open spaces. The views were breathtaking, as was the never ending promenade of migrating grey ways, barking seals, and gamboling otters. The beach was a brisk ten-minute walk away, easy enough to do carrying boogie boards. Don’t chance the deer trails down the cliff faces to the closest beach, or your use up your alcohol supply treating the assured cuts and bruises. The house was well stocked with every board game you ever heard of, belying generations of kids ardently playing at the house. The kitchen was well equipped enough to allow every meal to be cooked in house. If you forgot the soy sauce, you can always make an emergency visit to the general store at the beachfront RV camp. We loved the house and will be headed back on the next free weekend, if that ever happens again.

    Randolph2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • This house is AMAZING! The views are even better than the photos let on. Everything else about the house was as expected, if not better. The hot tub is a little small and doesn't get super hot, but is very rustic and charming and not a reason to not book this place. HIGHLY recommended!

  • The house was terrific. The views are to die for, and the location, not far above town, is great. There's a private trail to the north, and the house comes with a beach pass. Lori was easy to communicate with, and made it simple to get the key. One of my family's dogs destroyed a toy and made a small mess, and Lori was very nice about it. I would happily stay here again. Did I mention the views are to die for.

  • We loved our time at Dillon Beach and our host was very responsive. The house was perfect size for our family of 4 and our dog. It was clean, warm and welcoming - like we were staying at a friends place. Easy walk to beach and surrounding bluff top neighborhoods. We will definitely be back!

  • What a great place to stay on our mini vacation! It was bright, clean and very comfortable. It's within walking distance to Dillon Beach which we did and watched the kite surfers. We saw several deer just outside the door and lots of wild turkeys. Susan was always very responsive and has made her rental very welcoming for guests. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

  • Fabulous stay. Photos don't do the interior justice - lovely big open kitchen/dining/living. And yes, it is all about that view. Spent most of the weekend sitting on the deck, which was also the perfect play pen for our young kids.

  • Dillon Beach is great and Noah was an excellent host. The house is lovely and the views are spectacular. We'll definitely be back soon.

  • If you are looking for a big, spacious and beautiful place to enjoy the Northern California coast, this is a great property. The views are AMAZING. The house is very well stocked with everything you could need in a rental house. I really can't think of anything we were missing. I loved sitting on the deck in the morning with a cup of coffee watching the waves roll in and the deer nibbling on the hillside. The only thing I was sad about was that our visit was only for 2 days. Noah was very responsive to any questions prior to arrival and helpful during check-in. I would stay here again in a heart beat. One thing people should note is that the house allows dogs. The house was very clean, but if you have allergies, it could be problematic. Overall, we really loved our stay here.

    Shay2016-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • This place has everything. the kitchen was perfect.. and where most of the gathering took place. The deck was my personal favorite, as I could've stayed out there the entire time. The dog area, made for easy access for our pooch in the middle of night, right off master suite. perfect. We will cherish this vacation and hopefully be back. thanks

    loreen2017-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • This beach house is even better than I expected. The house is more beautifully furnished than the photos appeared, and the view is even better than I could have imagined. The kitchen/dining room/living room is an open space with big windows. The lighting is nice and there's a fireplace too. We cooked some great meals in the house -- the kitchen is well stocked with all the tools needed for anything from a bbq to a Thanksgiving dinner. If you go in the summer, beware that it could be foggy, which can make the rural roads leading to the house tricky to navigate at night. Overall, Noah provided great instructions for how to manage our stay, and we had a great time. Thanks, Noah!

Goats, sheep, cheese and a 4,000 sq ft newly built home! Unique house with views from every room. Sweeping porch to sit and watch the workings of the farm. Fresh eggs and cheese upon arrival. You can assist or observe in milking and herding animals.
This amazing, newly-built home is in the midst of a working goat/sheep dairy and farmstead creamery. If you love animals and artisan cheese then this is the place for you!! This is a working-farm so there will be people milling about the property. You can help out with the goats, garden, or simply take a hike around the 160 organic acres.
Tomales is a quaint town with a wonderful bakery and saloon (oldest in Marin county). There is so much to do in West Marin/West Sonoma County! We are 3 miles from Dillon beach, 5 miles from Marshall (oysters and amazing kayaking), and 10 miles north of Pt. Reyes— all the hiking trails you could ever want. Head north and you enter the charming towns of Bodega Bay, Occidental and Sebastopol for wine tasting or a spa day.
  • Our stay at the farm house was dreamy, the property is beautiful, the home is perfectly appointed and welcoming and the goats were the stars of the show. Our group of 12 was comfortable and wanted for nothing while we were there. There was more than enough of everything we needed to make many large meals and all eat together. We arranged a tour of the farm which we highly recommend as it led us to a pasture where a momma goat gave birth to two beautiful girl kids right before our very eyes. From sunrise (go see it from the top of the hill!) to sunset (check out the horses across the street who love to give an evening show!) this place was downright perfect. Many of my guests plan on returning with their families and friends to support this small farm. Thanks to Tamara and her team for a great experience overall.

    Karli2016-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • Had an amazing weekend! The hosts and staff were awesome and took time out of their work day to show us around the farm and meet the animals. The kitchen and house were very well stocked and made cooking for a large group a breeze. Would definitely return!

    Peter2017-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great experience - everyone on the farm was very accommodating and all the "extras" really made the experience that much better! Was cool to be able to pick greens from the garden, eat the fresh eggs/cheese, and check out all the animals on the farm. We had 10 people staying at the residence and the place was more than spacious enough to accommodate! We all miss the farm already :)

    Daniel2015-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly what it says on the label: a modern farmhouse on a working goat farm. Very well equipped kitchen, nice AV setup for group work or entertainment, friendly staff and amazing cheese! Make sure you do your grocery shopping in a larger city before you arrive (e.g. around Petaluma if you're coming in on 101) as options are very limited in Tamales proper.

    Philip2017-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Idyllic! We absolutely loved our time on this farm! The home is perfect and beautiful!

    Claire2017-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • This place was amazing! I booked this for my best friend's bachelorette weekend and it was just perfect. We were so close to everything in Tamales Bay and the farm had lots of things to do as well. We played with the baby goats, sampled some of the goat cheese, soaked in the hot tub, hiked around the farm and jumped on the built-in trampoline. Overall, it was a great place for a fun and relaxing weekend! I would love to come back!

    Stefanie2015-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • The farm house is beautiful!! We had a lovely stay. The house is decorated beautifully and very well stocked. The surrounding area is breathtaking and very relaxing. We traveled with kids and they had so much fun roaming the green hills with the goats and sheep. It was a wonderful experience. Tamara and the other staff were extremely helpful and attentive and I hope to visit again soon! Thanks Tamara.

    satya2015-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • Tamara has created a magical farm oasis! We spent 3 days there for my cousin's bachelorette party, and our group of 10 fell head over heels in love with the house, the property, the delicious cheese, and the goats! The home is stunningly gorgeous, even more so than in the pictures, and every detail has been thought of. Wonderful Heath dinnerware, comfortable linens, a fridge stocked with cheese and lemonade. We felt instantly at home (well, a very luxurious version of home). Tamara greeted us and showed us around, she was super helpful. The house was the perfect size for our group of 10. The house is spacious and full of natural light (there are no curtains). We took turns cooking in the huge chef's kitchen, and spent many meals outside on the deck. We made friends with the adorable and charming goats, and learned that sheep don't care much for most humans. The property itself is lovely - we spent an afternoon walking around, talking to the chickens, and clipping herbs from the garden. And of course, we ended every night with a relaxing soak in the large, deep hot tub. Oh! And the bathrooms are both amazing, with designer showers, and beautiful soaking tubs. I would highly recommend this rental to any large (or small!) group who is looking for a beautiful getaway in farm country. We had the best time, and are all already missing the house and our new goat friends. We can't wait to come back!! Thank you again, Tamara!!

  • Be prepared to relax! This place is incredible. The kitchen is well appointed, the house is extremely clean, and the view is phenomenal. Sure, you can see the pictures, so you'd think the view wouldn't be a surprise, but it was so good that we literally sat for hours just looking out the window. The beds are super comfortable, and even the person staying on the hide-a-bed couch commented that it was the most comfortable one she ever slept on. This place is so relaxing that we never even bothered to turn the TV on because we were just enjoying each other's company sitting around checking out the view and cooking great meals in the kitchen.

  • Such a wonderful space. Very clean and spacious. The beds are s(PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) plush and comfortable. Great relaxing environment. Jen was very accommodating and easy to work with. Just FYI most restaurants and stores close pretty early, between 6pm and 8 pm. But there are more open stores further out. Approx 25-30 min drive. For the outdoor lovers bodega bay trail is very easy hike, scenery is to die for.

We love to pick up some fresh oysters to BBQ on the deck and hike out along the beach or the trails that start from the top of Oceana.... **We are participants in Marin County's Clean Energy Deep Green Program, which provides you with 100% clean, renewable wind energy

Deer roaming the hillsides. (We were blessed to see the moon reflecting of the ocean during our stay.) The game room with pool table and foosball was a hit!!! Thank you Joanne and Family! We did not want to leave, but we left having cherished memories of "Above and Beyond"

Our daughter insisted that we bring our waffle iron, but the double Belgian waffle maker at the house was a far superior machine! Very peaceful place with lovely neighbors. Stay in an historic bank building converted into a residence in rural Tomales, centrally located to Pt. Reyes National Seashore, Tomales Bay and the Pacific Ocean. Perfect for hiking, biking, kayaking, and a relaxing get-a-way.
This unique B&B is a 2-story artist's residence in a converted bank building, located in the sleepy, west Marin town of Tomales. Tomales is surrounded by open hills and agriculture, much of it protected into perpetuity by Marin Agricultural Land Trust. Relax with modern comforts. Sleep in a quiet luxury loft. Feel safe and secure at Not-A-Bank!
Tomales has a wonderful bakery where the locals gather in the morning to chat the events of the day. Tomales Deli’s selections include hamburgers of local grass-fed beef. K&A TakeAway features craft made sausages. The William Tell Bar & Restaurant is next door. Diekmann’s General Store provides any forgotten needs and has a incredible wine selection. Six miles south on Tomales Bay is Nick’s Cove Restaurant, Hog Island Oyster Company, the Marshall Store (rated one of the top 100 seafood restaurants in America), and Tony’s Seafood (their fish & chips are the bomb). North 10 miles is Rocker Oysterfellers at the Valley Ford Inn, Estero Cafe (awesome for breakfast), and Dinucci’s Family Style Italian Restaurant. Further north another 10 minutes is Bodega Bay. Not-A-Bank is the perfect destination for relaxation and outdoor activities such as kayaking, cycling, hiking, whale watching, and exploring the back roads of Northern California. Dillon Beach is 4 miles west. Tomales Bay is 6 miles south. Pt. Reyes National Seashore is 25 minutes further south. 17 miles north in Bodega Bay, you can golf and pursue more restaurant selections. Sonoma’s Alexander Wine Valley is within easy reach and Tomales is no more than an hour from Napa Valley. San Francisco is also one hour away. Whether you're in the mood for adventure, relaxation, indoor or outdoor entertainment, Tomales has a lot to offer.
  • We stayed in "Not-A-Bank" on Halloween night, and had a great time! Loved the safe and the original teller window fixtures, art on the walls, high ceilings. The bedroom upstairs cozy and comfortable with a window overlooking the bank below. My son loved the red bankers couch and dozed on it, as we settled in and watched a movie on Roku. We even had some trick-or-treaters who asked us why we're not handing out money! LOL There's also a bench outside the building to enjoy the constellation of stars. There's a neat booklet on the marble table with menus and information about Tomales. Most of all, the baby grand piano was a treat to play! Bert is great host and easy to get in touch with. Thanks for having us, Bert!

    Myr2014-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at the Not A Bank. I took my niece and nephew as a birthday surprise and they were thrilled to spend their birthdays in a bank! We especially loved the Sunday bakery treats and the local (amazing) Sunday flea market just outside our door. Oh, and the beach was perfect and close by! To top it off, we left our valuable family dominoes and our host mailed them back the next day!!

    Suchi2014-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Bert's place was a very cool and unique experience! From the paintings and photos to the comfortable bed and amenities. I definitely will keep his place in mind when we want to go Oyster Shucking again in Tomales!

    John2015-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • The host has managed to turn possibly the last place where you'd think of staying the night into a really interesting experience. My wife described it well: a treehouse for adults. We stayed one night together with a friend who was visiting us, and made good use of all the music instruments and board games. Highly recommended for a night or a weekend if you are traveling with friends.

  • What a unique property at an interesting crossroads in West Marin! Great place to escape from the bustle of everyday life wherever you're coming from. Very well furnished and equipped. Enjoyed the musical touches including turntable and cool albums and playing one of the guitars. And very much appreciate the clear and personal communications from Bert. Thanks!

    Paul2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • It becomes more amazing when you arrive. Bert was super responsive and had everything setup very nicely. One of the best experiences I have had. Highly highly highly recommend.

    Adam2017-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed the unique stay at Not-a-bank! There aren't very many options up in that area, and it was a perfect spot to stay the night before getting oysters at Tomales Bay. Bert was very prompt in the booking and providing details about the property and well as the check-in/check-out procedure. It was cool to stay in an old bank, but unfortunately, the actual vault is closed/locked, so we didn't get to see the inside of the vault. As others have mentioned, the bakery across the street is a great place to grab some food for breakfast. Would definitely stay here if again if we're up in the area.

    Nick2015-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • A very cool and unique building -- we used it for a weekend of relaxing and playing music (yes, the piano is in tune), and it was a good space for it. The bar next door is lively, but everyone there was quite friendly. This spot is also close to excellent waterfront spots in Bodega and Tomales Bay.

  • Idyllically set amid rolling hills and peaceful countryside, Estero schoolhouse offers a charming experience. Although we booked at short notice Stephen was very helpful, meeting us on the way to the house to brief us on practical matters and offer useful suggestions oh things to do nearby. Entering the schoolhouse it is immediately apparent that the restoration was a work of love and attention to detail. All useful amenities are there without compromising the warmth of the vintage decor. We were two couples so we could each enjoy our own comfortable room, but there's a third bed in the living room available if you don't mind a bit less privacy. Everything was clean and well arranged for us when we arrived. The kitchen is functional and ready to prepare your communal meals to be enjoyed in a cozy corner of the impressive high beam ceiling living room. Upstairs you will find the second comfortable room with its own bathroom. We really enjoyed our stay and hope we can come back sometime to just relax and enjoy the house more. We hiked along Bodega head and enjoyed delicious breakfast in the beautiful garden of the bakery nearby in Freestone. There is also a studio apartment available behind the house but we didn't have a chance to see inside. The garden at the back has a lot of potential.

  • The neighborhood is beautiful rolling grass hills with ranch and dairy farms. We enjoyed the visits by small deer and wild turkeys who came into the fenced yard in the morning and evening. The house is surrounded by old fruit trees and a charming patio with a fountain. The house itself is a one of a kind and is beautifully arranged by the owners to provide all one needs. The kitchen is well equipped and we had fun as a family cooking two dinners and one big pancake breakfast on the 1920s wedgewood stove. The solarium was a great place to sit and play games and talk with a glass of wine. The instructions provided by the host helped us have a great stay in a highly unusual house: if you want modern simplicity this might not be it, but if you enjoy going back in time: this place is for you.

  • A fun place to stay! Eclectic and historic, just what you look for in an AirBnB. Kitchen is well-stocked, the fruit trees bring deer to visit you in the yard, and the stars at night blew us away. Location is fantastic -- close to Bodega Bay, wine country, and redwood forest. And just far enough from the coast to get sun in the summer (unlike Bodega Bay!).

  • A group of friends and I went to spend a weekend exploring Pt. Reyes, and it was beautiful! My friends loved the house and its rustic charm, and we thoroughly enjoyed the fruit trees, roaming deer, and wild turkeys around us. The house has a lot of character, and we had a great time! Thanks Jen & Chris!

  • Staying at the schoolhouse was such a charming experience - we will definitely be back! Friendly and very responsive host. The pictures don't do this space justice. It is beyond beautiful. We would absolutely recommend it.

  • Stephen was incredibly warm, responsive, caring, and attentive. He loves the house, and can tell you about the fascinating history of this charming old school house. There 5 of us, adults, including one couple. We felt comfortable and had enough privacy (one of the beds is in the living room, best for late nighters who don't mind early risers). The sun room is fabulous, we spent much of our time in it, all windows open. The house is nestled in a lovely orchard, and if you walk up the quiet road you will find yourself among pastures with cows. It's only 5 miles from Dillon beach, and very close to Valley Ford. Not far from the super delicious bakery in Freestone. Super quiet. We met some neighbors while walking and they were super friendly. We loved our time there, are ready to go back!

    Diane2016-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely, relaxing weekend at the Estero Schoolhouse. Stephen was a great host, easy to communicate with, and very friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed the location and it's proximity to Bodega Bay and Dillon Beach. Our favorite room in the house was the bright and airy solarium where we enjoyed our meals, watching the wildlife through the windows (deer, turkeys, jackrabbits). It was so nice for all of us to get away from the hustle and bustle of life at home and really get to relax together.

The Haven at Dillon Beach. Its a great place to relax, listen to the surf and enjoy the views of Point Reyes. 300 Yards to the Beach. A great garden; Ocean views from nearly every window; gourmet kitchen; Turkish cotton towels; clawfoot tub for the romantic in you. Peace and serenity. Its my happy place. I hope to share it with you.
Romantic; Lovers of Nature; Near Point Reyes; 10 miles from Hog Island Oysters, Nick's Cove and all of West Marin. Sonoma County and its natural wonders are 10 miles in the other direction.
Dillon Beach is the last nearly unexplored beach on the MARIN coast. Just an hour from the Golden Gate Bridge. But it will take you to another place. A perfect West Marin setting.
  • Dillon Beach is so beautiful and Joe's place is simply a little slice of heaven. The views are spectacular and the house is cozy, modern, clean, tastefully decorated and has every possible amenity you would need. The beds and pillows were comfy too. We were 3 adults and 3 kids (ages 7-11). He has board games and cards galore to keep you busy as it's a very small town and not much of a nightlife. But who needs nightlife when you are hanging with family? I would definitely go back and highly recommend Joe's place to anyone looking for a refreshing getaway! FYI: I would also recommend going with people who are like family, because the main bedroom which has the king bed doesn't have a door. There are a couple of stairs that lead up to it. There's still plenty of privacy, but just no door. It was not a problem for us, but something other people might want to know in advance. And if you are planning to stay longer than a couple of nights, there is no laundry. This was my first time booking with Airbnb and I was super thrilled with the whole experience. Joe was very responsive and friendly. I could not have been happier with everything. Thanks Joe! Can't wait to return someday.

  • We had an amazing time staying at the Haven! Like some of the other reviews, the photos don't do it justice. Our group of five adults and one infant had a great time and our stay was comfortable, fun and convenient. Elle was a fantastic host and very friendly and accommodating. She gave us great insider tips on where to dine or explore. We would definitely love to come back again. Thanks for a great, relaxing weekend!

  • Host was super responsive to questions. House is beautiful. Internet is tough though so not recommended if you need to work remote. Would stay again if I could unplug completely!

  • Great place, spotless Joe explained that the internet might be a challenge and it was Great views It was a short walk to the beach

    Aaron2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay very much at Joe's beach cottage. We couldn't have ask for more, the cottage was lovely and it had everything we needed. Ocean views from almost every window and it was a short walk down to the beach.

  • Joe was quick to respond to a last minute rental. He was in communication through the whole check in process, until Elle took over. She gave a tour of the house and let us know about the bottle of wine left for us. Great touch! Everything was explained in detail and the home was updated, modern, and well kept. The linens, towels, and extra beach towels left us with no extra items to bring up. Joe left no stone unturned here! Bluetooth speaker, fireplace, board games, well equipped kitchen, wifi and even remote control candles! Great views and easy check out. If you want rue R&R, this is your place. We will rent this place again.

    Vipul2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • About 20 minutes after getting into the house, I nearly felt like it was my own dream home. The town is adorable; the house is so well decorated and furnished; the kitchen is stocked with gadgets, a dutch oven, (sharp!) knives, and plenty more; the towels and extra throw blankets are lush. And Joe was so friendly, super responsive, and attentive through the whole process. Many thanks to Elle as well for showing us the town and secret passage ways to the beach!

We had the opportunity during the day to walk down to the beach (the short trail is right next to the house!) and enjoy the ocean, which is also a must-do. Overall, I recommend this particular home and would definitely come back again!

  • Location.Location.Location. Joe's Studio is cozy and charming. The view from the kitchen and patio are fantastic. The kitchen had all we needed (and we cooked breakfast and one dinner in). The Smoky Joe was perfect for ribeyes on the beach. The bed was comfy, and the place was very clean. It was great being so close to Nick's Cove and Hog Island. Rob's information sheet was very helpful. We had a wonderful anniversary stay.

  • A sweet, simple, extremely quiet retreat with unparalleled waterfront access to Tomales Bay. We thoroughly enjoyed the sunrises and sunsets, big tidal changes, and the huge diversity of birds right off the porch.

  • This place is very cute & very cozy! Robert is very nice, easy to talk to. The view & deck is simply the best! Totally rent from him again.

    Vanessa2017-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • Nice location, right on the water! The deck was really pleasant to sit on, and we launched our kayaks right from the house and caught a lot of Dungeness crabs! The kitchen had a couple of things to note: only a single-burner hot plate. It works fine, but we might have planned breakfast differently if we'd realized. While there was plenty of space for 2 couples, the bed and the futon are both in the same room (half-wall between) The shower is in the kitchen, so planning for that is also important. A super-pleasant place, and you can't beat the location!

    Katie2017-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • About half between Tomales and Marshall, neither bustling, so this place is a very quiet spot on Highway 1. Cozy and right in the bay. Perfect for getting unplugged or as a base for hiking local trails.

Wonderfully relaxing, clean and well maintained, the house sleeps 6 - Up to 6 guests only. The house is fully equipped with good, comfortable beds: on the first floor-queen size in master bedroom, double/standard in 2nd bedroom and a sleeper sofa ( standard size) in the living area on the second floor. On the second floor the living room has 2 sofas, a smaller sofa and a comfortable big chair with ottoman. Great for relaxing, chatting, watching TV, movies and reading- seats 6 easily. The dining area seats 6. The kitchen is fully equipped: coffee maker, electric kettle, toaster, microwave, mixer. Lots of dishes, glasses, cups, pots and pans. New appliances. This house has an Open Floor Plan for Living, Dining and Cooking. No one will miss out on the fun! With a high ceiling and lots of windows, the main living area has lots of natural light and opens out onto a back deck with views of the hills and a small partial view of the ocean - perfect for sunbathing, grilling and entertaining. Nature abounds - Deer on the hillside and singing birds everywhere. You can hear the ocean from the house and feel the ocean breeze. The house is naturally wind-protected so reading and sunbathing on the decks is great. It's a short easy walk (about 5-7 minutes) to the beach, cafe, general store and post office. You can walk the beach all the way to Tomales Bay. Best to shop for food in Petaluma or bring your own- local grocery stores don't have a wide variety of vegetables and meats. They do have milk, eggs, coffee, tea, beer and wine, soda.
This home is a quiet retreat-- You can walk the 2 mile-long beach all the way to Tomales Bay ; dogs are allowed on the beach. Nature abounds: deer, owls, birds, seagulls, hawks. Restaurant , general store, PO- 3 minute walk away. Walk to Tomales Bay: hiking, wind surfing, ocean swimming and digging for clams. Excellent food in the nearby town of Tomales.
  • Our host made us feel welcome, giving us detailed info and offering to chat if we had any questions. The listing was accurate, and the little beach-side neighborhood is a nice, slow-paced alternative to the city. The kitchen is stocked with the basics, and there is a variety of games to play; it was fun to introduce our 3-year old to the joys of Connect Four. We had great cell coverage (Verizon), and the gradual, carpeted staircase is friendly to little feet (ages 1.5 and 3.5). There is a nice little cafe/general store just around the corner (5' walk), though you would need to drive into town for anything more. The beach, a 15' walk through a quirky neighborhood, is wide and foggy with wonderful dunes for the kids. It's a 30' drive to Petaluma through rolling, largely agricultural hills. Being new to Airbnb, we weren't prepared to supply our own bath soap or shampoo, and of course if you plan to do much cooking, you'll need to bring any spices you plan to use, but that's probably pretty standard. The only thing we found wanting was that the floors could have used an extra cleaning, and the kitchen table and counters were slightly sticky, but that was a minor issue. We recommend Hawk's Hollow to anyone looking for an out-of-the-way, reasonably priced location to explore Marin or even Sonoma.

    Chris2015-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • My book club friends and I wanted a relaxing weekend away from the Sacramento heat. Hawk's Hollow at Dillon Beach was great. We were able to rest, take beautiful walks, and read on the beach(which was very convenient to walk to so you won't have to pay the beach parking fee). We even made a friend with Alfred, the bird that got stuck in the chimney the morning we were leaving. Mary responded right away to my text to deal with it! She was very easy to contact and responded right away with any questions we had. If you're looking for a quiet weekend by the coast, definitely check this place out.

    Annie2015-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • Inside of house was clean and comfortable enough for 5. Neighborhood is quiet. Stairs to living area and kitchen are a bit steep for those who may have accessibility considerations.

    Kathryn2015-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Hawk's Hollow was everything we expected, the pictures did it justice. Nice, open-floor plan for entertaining in the main living area upstairs. Large bedrooms downstairs as well as studio below the garage (that you can only access from outside and down the stairs next to driveway). Large deck on both stories of the house, a grill and large table on the second story overlooking a backyard and the neighbors' yards. So in that sense Mary provided a beautiful, expansive home meant for a quiet weekend away with friends and family, and perfect for entertaining a small group of people. We never had the chance to meet Mary but she provided more than enough information about the house, the house rules, and the little beachside town that is Dillon Beach. The town has a little cafe and a general store (literally 5 min walk from the house), but I suggest if you are renting this place and heading there for a weekend, stock up on food and other perishables before you arrive! General store has the basics but not that much produce and whatnot. The beach has some small firepits as well which was perfect for some s'moring. The town gets quiet at night so definitely keep that in mind while staying in Dillon Beach. Wonderful, beautiful home, would definitely love to visit again sometime.

    Sean2014-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • My father and I were really excited to have a weekend together. We packed up our bags and headed out to Dillon Beach. When we arrived we were underwhelmed. There was a strong mold smell in the entryway, bathroom, and both bedrooms. The light switches in the room don't turn off and on the lights, and when I turned the switch on each lamp, most lightbulbs were out. Upstairs there was no firewood, no note, and everything in the pantry was decades old. I get that this is a business but for 755 dollars a weekend for a two bedroom, we expected a bit more. The location is fantastic however so if you are just looking for an expensive place to lay your head, you found it.

    Adam2016-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time. The home was clean, comfortable, and close to the beach. We enjoyed barbecuing on the back deck.

    Tiffanie2015-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Weekend visitors should plan to drive their car load to the parking lot before 9 am as the traffic is extreme and could take over an hour to get to the beach and to the road leading to the bay. This was the only downfall staying in a home higher on the hill. Otherwise, the house was nice and we had a great time.

    Anabel2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • This place worked out great for our last minute stay in Dillon Beach for the 4th. The house was comfortable and the location was close enough to get us to the beach and far enough to get some exercise. Great stay!

You are a 2 min walk to the bluff path that takes you down to the beach.
  • We loved Knot a Care so much we came back later the same month for a return visit. The view of the ocean from the living room, while enjoying the fireplace with the summer fog rolling in, was pretty perfect.

  • We had a very complicated trip with several houses. Stace was incredibly helpful the while time leading up to and during our trip. I don't think we could have done it without her! The house was beautiful and we actually plan to stay there again next week!

  • Stace and Co. Were very attentive and easy to work with. They provided a lot of information in advance and check in was very easy. Everything was as expected. We had a terrific family reunion weekend with hours and hours of ping pong tournaments. We did bring our own new paddles and balls per the recommendation of a previous reviewer. Of note, the mattresses were of very high quality and we all commented on what a great night's sleep we got. We cooked big dinners together and had everything we needed in the well equipped kitchen. It was spectacular to cook together while enjoying the expansive ocean view. The hot tub was pleasant. All around, an A+ rental.

  • This is an absolutely great house. Just perfect if you're visiting the Point Reyes area. The house itself has a great design, is super comfortable, and just steps from the beach. Stace is a great host with quick and clear communications. Highly recommend.

  • Stace replied my questions promptly. House is nice.

  • Had a great time! Thanks Stace!

  • Great spot close to a beautiful beach and gorgeous rolling hills. Rented it for a 30th birthday getaway for 9 people and it worked out great. Ping pong table is great bonus, but bring your own paddles - the ones at the unit are a bit beat up. Cozy hot-tub and fireplace.

  • Stace was a great host! There was plenty of communication from her prior to my trip (a little too much) about how to check in, what to expect when I get there, and what to do in the area. It seems like they use some management company, which sends you a link to login to an app to manage your stay. It's nice, but they send more emails than necessary and so it was a little confusing to keep track of the important stuff. I was almost stranded when I arrived and didn't have the code to open the lock box. Make sure you have that saved as there's no cell reception! I received a large pdf of activities to do in the area, as well as restaurants and all sorts of other information. It's great for somebody not familiar with the area and looking for things to do. The house was also splendid. It has a nice view of the ocean from the second floor and plenty of room for 10 people. It would have been nice if they would supply extra towels for the hot tub though. Overall it was amazing and we all had a great time!

  • Rebecca's house is beautiful, and the views of the bay are gorgeous. We will definitely be back next time we're in the area.

  • This is such a spacious beautiful home with unreal views. Everything has been thought about. Everything you need in a kitchen, the spa and sauna are just insane, and the bedrooms are so comfortable and each one is great! We will definitely be back! Already planning a fall trip! Also Rebecca is such a GREAT host and helped us with everything and was so quick to respond!

  • A beautiful, secluded retreat on an amazing stretch of California coast. Rebecca was a great host; communicating all the details necessary to make our stay easy and enjoyable. Would definitely return!

  • I can begin with the drive to the house, the rolling hills was spectacular. The higher I drove the better the view got. The house was very clean. I particular enjoyed the sauna, it made my skin feel so clear and bright and a glow that's noticeable. It was really neat to wake up with an ocean view. The decor was simple but modern at the same time. If you want breakfast you have to try Ginochio's kitchen I recommend the hash beef. The most tender ever...

  • This was the perfect house for our weekend family gathering. Everyone had comfortable beds to sleep on and there was something for everyone in this house. We lowed reading in the alcove upstairs, soaking in the hot tub, lounging in the sauna and napping in the sun room. The living room and back deck were perfect for the whole family to gather. We loved watching people cook in the sunken kitchen while we snacked at the high bar and the dinner table was big enough to accommodate all of us. There are a lot of stairs, which was challenging with a toddler, but we brought two gates and were able to seal off the main living area upstairs. The location was perfect with a lovely beach just steps away and a short drive to Doran beach. We couldn't have asked for a better place to spend the weekend.

  • Rebecca's Bodega Bay Beach House is all that you could ask for and more. We loved the luxury feel of the laid back community, and of course the views from every window are so lovely. There are several patios, including one off the living room with a gas BBQ, and one off the upstairs master, and both offer incredible ocean vistas, as well as comfortable seating. The home is very modern, renovated beautifully, immaculately clean, well appointed with fluffy towels and robes, and high end finishes and bedding. We loved that the kitchen has heated floors, and beautiful under the counter lighting that creates a cosy and warm feel even on cool mornings. The kitchen is easy to cook in, and we loved the open bar to serve from. Another highlight was the sun room, just off the downstairs backyard. There are benches and a lounge chair to soak in the heat and prepare for the fabulous jacuzzi outside, or sauna right off the garage/yard. These features provided a spa like environment that was a pleasure to enjoy. There are excellent walking trails nearby as well! We'd highly recommend a stay at this spacious home with friends or family.

  • Rebecca's house is beautiful, stylish, clean and has a wonderful view. The linens and towels are high-end. I was impressed how well-stocked the kitchen was. We appreciated that the house is decorated in a minimalist/clutter free way, as much more kid-friendly with three small children with us. We also appreciated Rebecca's advice to bring baby gates. Extra wide pressure mounted gates work best to block off 2 sets of short stair flights going down into the kitchen level. Rebecca was also awesome about being accessible/available for any questions. We would definitely consider staying again. Thanks, Rebecca!
