The mooring of our unique ship - or houseboat - The Somoya is on the Java Island, a central location and safe haven of tranquility just a stone’s throw from the hustle and bustle of the old city, within sight of Central Station. Our 36 x 6m ship houses our Bed&Boat, Somoya's Saloon* upstairs on the upper deck and we live in the main family residence downstairs in the hull. (*'saloon' = the social cabin for first-class passengers) Somoya's Saloon is one-of-a-kind and is situated upstairs in the large steering hut of our classic ship. Somoya's Saloon has its own separate entrance and is completely private & self-sufficient. It's JUST YOU upstairs, so you are always our only & exclusive guests! You have the 'suite' luxury of your own bathroom, kitchenette, double bed, sofa & lounge area in a 45m2 blend of crisp design with a classic touch. Somoya's Saloon can accommodate 2 adults very comfortably. *Please note that our studio is very popular and that our calendar is always up to date, so we ask you kindly not to enquire about dates that are unavailable on the calendar* Somoya's Saloon offers fantastic views of the harbor, from the east all the way to Central Station, plus a huge 60m2 south-facing sun-deck where you can catch the sun from morning to evening and watch the world float by, whether enjoying breakfast at the deck table, contemplating the sun setting in the IJ, or sipping wine in a hammock. In fact, most guests end up spending much more time on board than they planned. All kinds of delights within walking distance. Including swimming in the harbour and a place to rent SUP boards! Trams and buses stop close by and walking into town is no problem but our free bicycles are the absolute best way to get around town and add to your Somoya freedom and authentic Amsterdam experience! Expect to be delighted!
LOCATION Our beautiful ship The Somoya is moored in the heart of the city’s famous Eastern Docklands, internationally known for it’s ‘Super Dutch’ architecture, wide open harbours and wicked sunsets. The neighborhood is also ideal given its proximity to the infamous historical city centre as well as the cultural hotchpotch of Eastern Amsterdam with its colorful markets and exotic food. The docklands themselves offer a variety of good restaurants, hip bars and cool cafes with great views, as well as shops and supermarkets within walking distance. A short bike ride away is our Gooyen windmill, complete with real dutch brewery, renowned for its excellent IJ bier. Getting to all our famous museums, infamous neighbourhoods & must-see sights from the Somoya is a breeze, especially on our free bicycles, as Amsterdam is an international village, in size as well as atmosphere.
  • Nice boat. Clean. A bit out of the center of Amsterdam but fine if you don't mind a stroll into town. Grocery shopping easy enough to locate. Good communication.

  • Angie's boat was an incredible way to experience Amsterdam for the first time. It's in a great location and had everything we could possibly need. As expected we ended up staying on board a lot more than originally anticipated. We also made great use of the bikes and rode all over the city. It was a fabulous vacation!

  • Beautiful and spacious lodgings in a calm and quiet location. Feels like 5 star. Good communication from Angie and Roland. Would definitely return. Large deck area would be perfect in summer. About 20 mins walk from centre of town, worth the walk for the lovely location of the boat. A few restaurants close by, and a supermarket. We loved it.

  • This boat has it all - great location in a quirky part of town you may otherwise miss - former industrial, quiet, now inhabited by designers, architects, and boats with amazing views. This boat’s interior is modern, exceptionally clean, but also very comfortable. A stack of great books about Amsterdam, it’s architecture, walks to do are there to read. Breakfast is provided. And good coffee, tea, board games. There’s great outside space. We stayed during a major storm and howling gales - yet the boat rocked only very slightly (almost imperceptible) and it was warm and cosy inside. Really recommend! Angie also went out of her way to help us. Thanks so much.

  • Amazing houseboat for such a unique stay in Amsterdam. Use of the free bicycles was great as otherwise it’s about a half hour walk into the centre. With a bike it’s only a 10 minute leisurely ride. Highly recommend this place as it will be a highlight of your trip.

    Sarah2017-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Remarkable boat unforgettable stay It’s a lovely and great experience we had.

  • Samoya is a unique way to experience waking up in Amsterdam Beautifully romantic to sleep on the water and wake up to rain on the boat and water Angie was very helpful and quick to fix anything I needed The boat is close to the city and a quick trip on the bus or tram to central and there a couple of great little places in the area for dining and shopping. Thanks for a lovely stay!

    Katrina2018-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Angie was very friendly and welcoming. The boat was beautiful - just like the pictures, and very clean and comfortable. There were also books, games and snacks! The neighbourhood was peaceful but still close to the city centre. We were lucky to enjoy some stunning sunsets and particularly loved having the bikes to explore the area. Would definitely recommend it if you're looking for a really special and relaxing place to stay.

★ Location - The best ★ Room - Recently renovated in a '16th century' apartment ★ Internet connection - Fastest available ★ SuperHost - AirBnB chosen few ★ Not satisfied? - Money back guaranteed! Be Aware: - The stairway is steep - No kitchen access - Shared bathroom & toilet
The place and room I am offering is uniquely situated in the historical heart (old city center) of Amsterdam. And fits two people comfortably. The private room is located on the third floor.
My home is in a 16th century monumental house (2 floors) and is situated in a quieter part of Amsterdam's city center, just a few minutes walk from the lively Dam Square, the canals and all the highlight that this great city has to offer. It is the perfect base for travelers who wish to explore Amsterdam’s nightlife. Many not-to-be-missed historic attractions, museums, and theaters are only a short walk from this listing. Both business and leisure guests will appreciate the room’s proximity to the city's excellent public transport system. I can advise guests regarding bus, train and tram service. Top shopping, bicycle rent shops and canal boats are around the corner.
  • Manuel's place was in a fantastic location, only a 10 minute walk from the train station and central to the majority of the main attractions of Amsterdam! The room itself was bright, spacious and very comfortable, whilst the facilities although shared were clean and very convenient to use. As a host Manuel was very accommodating and enriched my experience as a first timer to Amsterdam. I would highly recommend this place, especially to first time travellers to Amsterdam!

  • Manuel was extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful. The room was very homely, cosy and clean. The apartment is very centrally situated and it was very easy to get around. Would highly recommend staying here.

  • Had a great stay at Manuel's place. The accommodation is wonderful and very conveniently situated, and Manuel makes a genuine effort to get to know his guests.

    Marian2014-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • Manuel was an amazing host and provided multiple amenities for your travel needs. Great communication and very helpful. Very close to shops, restaurants and sightseeing but also on a quieter street. We really enjoyed our stay!

  • Manuel is a fantastic host, very friendly and helpful. The location is amazing - it's peaceful and clean but just a short, scenic walk to Dam square. Manuel's home is spotless, the room was really comfortable and has plenty of space. The breakfast vouchers, free sim card and what's on guides/money off vouchers were incredibly helpful - Manuel had catered for everything we needed.

  • The houseboat was modern, clean and spacious. It was very relaxing overlooking the canal. It was well equipped if you wish to cook for yourself. It was an easy 25 minute walk to the local shops and tram stop. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it.

    Helen2013-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Frans's place is highly recommended: this by far the best AirBnB I've stayed in. Communication with Frans was superb and he offered us a pick from the airport cheaper than a taxi, which we accepted. The house boast is just fab! Like all reviewers are saying, lots of thoughtful extras made our stay even more amazing: snacks, drinks, fruit etc. The houseboat is so peaceful...with the exception of the moorhens wanting breakfast from gullible tourists; standing at the windows and they will race at you at Olympic speed! We didn't use the bikes, but the tram is 5 minutes away and takes you straight to the station (even on a Sunday they seemed to arrive every 5 minutes). Staying out of the centre might not be for everyone but to be away from the stag and hen parties was perfect for us. I'd definitely try to book again if I visited Amsterdam again.

    Jane2017-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • all-round carefree package. Beautiful house boat. Useful bikes including.

  • Frans and his wife are great hosts. Very hospitable. Amazing houseboat

    Dean2017-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, great view, I thing I am starting to enjoy the bike riding from now on, cause the experience in Amsterdam is really a god blessing.

  • A really beautiful place to stay!

    Jennifer2017-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • This houseboat is superb and we would recommend it as a great place to stay when visiting Amsterdam! This beautiful apartment is situated in a lovely area and has recently been renovated to provide a modern, clean and cosy home, with everything needed for an enjoyable holiday. The apartment has an open-plan living room with free wi-fi and TV and excellent kitchen/dining facilities. Downstairs there is a comfortable bedroom and modern bathroom with walk-in shower. The apartment has ample storage facilities and modern appliances and most importantly, free parking right outside! The hosts Frans and Loecky, who live next door, were extremely friendly and helpful, and very flexible with our check-in/check-out times. They were there to help when necessary but without interfering with our privacy. There is a shopping area within 10 minutes' walking distance, with a supermarket, butchers, bakery and florist and also the tram stop to the City, which is only a 20 minute tram-ride away. We are regular visitors to Amsterdam and have stayed in many different places and this was by far the nicest place we have ever stayed! Many thanks to Frans and Loecky for letting us stay at your place, we will definitely be back!

    Annie2013-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • The houseboat was a nice new experience and Frans was very welcoming and explained everything very clearly. The location was a 10 minute walk to the tram but easy and pleasant. They have thought out all the needs for their guests and catered well for a very enjoyable stay with lots of local information in a number of languages. Thank you for your hospitality. We. Recommend a Syrian/Lebanese restaurant just 5 minute walk away.

Very open minded and super friendly people, the studio is truly awesome and location is great, very close to centraal station but nice and quiet. I totally reccomend this place to everybody and when we go to Amsterdam again we are definitely staying here!

    Hyunpill2018-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • Kim, Daniel an as well theyr two little sons are great hosts. The room was clean and has everything you need to start your trip. With the breakfast we had a surprise since we forgot its included. Frech orange juice, coffee, cheese and boiled eggs made our mornings sunny even on the rainy days. Thank you!

After building for two years our converted dutch barge is finally ready. Completely rebuild and set on an unique location in Amsterdam. We would love to share this experience with you! Enjoy our city from a different perspective and enjoy the luxury.
The room is located in the front of the ship where the cargo hold used to be. The space is now converted in to a luxurious suite with private entrance, a bathroom with rain shower, double bed, television, free Wi-Fi, and minibar. Outside you will find a romantic private terrace overlooking the water, the city and part of the old industrial harbour.
Our house boat is situated in the historic Prinseneiland area on the vibrant west side of the city centre. What makes this place truly unique is the fact that you are in the middle of the city but surrounded by water, peace and quite. The famous Jordaan area with its beautiful architecture, hip hangouts, art galleries, designer shops, many cafés and bars is right next door and the West area is within walking distance. You'll find street markets as well as elegant mansions, upmarket furniture shops, underground cultural centres and plenty of cafés, often with great terraces.
  • it's a lovely place in a lovely spot, and the hosts are very nice. A bit awkward getting in and out, but once you're there it's very cozy. Great shower too.

    John H.2016-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • Erik and Margriet's houseboat was an amazing way to experience life in Amsterdam. It was close enough to walk to most of the areas we wanted to see, yet was just far enough out of the hustle and bustle to still offer peace and quiet at night. They had delicious breakfast, lunch, and dinner recommendations. Would recommend this experience to any and all friends visiting Amsterdam

    Dustin2017-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • It was easy to get to the boat from the central station. The hosts were generous enough to offer free beer and soda, with which I enjoyed sunset on the boat :) I think this boat house is more for one person but definately an experience worthwhile!

    Sarah2016-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • The place was AWESOME!! Especially when you see the effort that went into making the boat their home. It was more spacious than we thought it would be, it was easy to get in and out (the stairs are like very sturdy metal ladders). We didn't meet Erik and Margriet but we were met by Lillian and her partner who stayed in the main part of the boat. They were lovely and chatted with us whenever we went past. I'm glad we were a little out of the city at Silodam because I think we saw more than most people would...we went to places the locals go to for dinner...we explored Jordaan, went to the hip filmhallen and the area across the water as well as the "usual tourist areas". We loved Amsterdam. If I went again I'd hire a bike from day one and keep it the whole time so we could see even more than we did! All in all, I highly recommend basing yourself at the boathouse if you want something a little more unusual than an ordinary hotel.

    Angela2017-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you very much for a lovely stay! We had a great time staying at the Beaufort. Erik and Margriet are wonderful hosts and have produced an inspiring home out of an old cargo ship. It was a lovely place to sit and watch the world go by, very peaceful and the bed was super comfortable. It is a little bit out from the crowds but is very close to ferries going to the north (which is very cool) and Amsterdam can be very busy, so it was nice to get away from the crowds. If you rent a bicycle distance is no problem at all. Thank you again for a great stay!

    Carly2016-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • It was a special experience, the room was comfortable, the environment was comfortable

    Xi2018-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Erik and Margriet are very kind and helpful. Erik helped get us settled on arrival and bid us farewell when we left. Our room was perfect. It was clean and comfortable. It's actually quite spacious. The shower is wonderful. The location is also ideal. It's a quiet part of Amsterdam but the city center is just a short walk away. We loved our houseboat experience!

    Lori2016-08-19T00:00:00Z

My ship is an authentic freighter from the thirties. She is fully equipped for a pleasant stay in our beautiful city of Amsterdam. Experience how it is to live on a ship. There is a central heating system for a comfortable stay and if you want you can use the fireplace, your place is completely private.
Be amazed by this beautiful houseboat, located in a unique area in Amsterdam. The boat is cozy and romantic. Drink a glass of wine with your loved one in the living room, which is very open and bright. The wood stove makes the evening even more romantic. Take a look in one of the many authentic windows in the morning. When it's hot in the city, do not hesitate to take a refreshing dip in the canal, which is very clean. If it is not sunny, you can rent two bicycles, provided by the owner of the boat. You do not have to cycle far to see great places in Amsterdam: the area is known for its modern architecture and the historic city center is only about 15 minutes away. The authenticity of the houseboat is well preserved, but the modern look in the furniture creates a homely and special atmosphere. The first part of the boat, fully equipped, is completely for you, inside and out. You have your own access.
Zeeburg is conveniently located in the east of Amsterdam, it is the former port of the city where herbs and coffee were transported by the ship in the old days. Almost every ship that is now in the port area is a houseboat. Zeeburg is now known for its modern architecture. It is a quiet neighborhood and 10 minutes away from the historic city center by bus or tram or bicycle. There is a shopping center 5 minutes by bike.
  • Otto's boat is a great way to spend a few days in Amsterdam! Quiet, clean and with every modern amenity, it felt like home right away. Otto is also super attentive and friendly, helping wherever needed. The location is a little outside of town, but anyone looking for a quiet place would find that welcome. There is also a nice small bar across the street. We enjoyed our stay. Thanks, again, Otto! Michael and Katie

    Michael2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • The boat of Otto is something special which you have to discover when you are in Amsterdam! It's a great experience and we felt very well, even if it's not a four-star-hotel - but who's expecting a four-star-boat? Otto is a very calm host and provided every assistance we asked for. The boat can be reached very easyly more or less around the clock by public transport, which stop just a few meters away the boat. In one sentence: a must-experience! Thanks Otto!

    Andreas2015-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • The boat was great, very well equipped and right on a main bus route for getting in to Amsterdam. By only concern was that the outer doors didn't lock but the neighbourhood seemed nice so this wasn't a problem. If you're looking for something a bit different I would definitely recommend it.

    Arthur2013-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous experience at Otto's boat, beautiful area, lovely and quiet... Close to the bus stop which takes you right into Centraal Station. Honestly couldn't fault the experience and Otto was a great host that provided a lot of help for me and my boyfriend. I'll definitely be going back! Thanks a lot Otto!

  • Excellent location (could be a bit noisy with the windows open, but totally silent with them closed), lovely and clean. Matthijs was incredibly helpful with dining and touring suggestions and maps, etc..very sweet and friendly. And he did some laundry for us...who has ever heard of a B&B doing that?! Pastry shop where we got our (included) breakfast every morning was so charming and delicious I wanted to bring it home with me. Would definitely stay here again.

  • The room is great, really modern and clean and excellent location. Matthijs was so lovely and friendly towards us, even spending time mark up our map when we arrived. Really impressed overall and would recommend to anybody visiting Amsterdam. Thanks again, we had a lovely stay.

  • We loved our room and location in Amsterdam. Matthijs and Francina were wonderful hosts and Matthijs gave us great tips on the city, especially in the Jenever distillery which we went to every night! The bathrobes were a nice touch and though there was another couple down the hall, we never heard or saw them, owing to the nice layout of the house. Thank you for an enjoyable end to our honeymoon in Amsterdam!

    Trixie2015-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • It was a pleasure to meet Matthijs & Francina, they were lovely and helpful. The house is conveniently located in a calm street just nearby the Dam, the centre of the city really. The room is nice and clean and with a touch of purple which I loved. Breakfast was too good and in a super nice café full of charming and smiling waiters cooking delicious stuff. It was a very nice stay and I can't do anything else that vouch for them!

  • Wonderful, are excellent hosts. greetings; Lourdes and Fernando

    Lourdes2014-04-04T00:00:00Z
  • Nice clean room which is very well located to tour Amsterdam. Matthijs was very accomodating and helpful with information on things to do and places to eat. PHENOMENAL breakfast at a local bakery, which is run by an extremely friendly woman.

    Kenneth2014-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • A simple, clean and confortable room in a very good location, so close to every interesting touristic place. Breakfast was so good, with croissant or toasts, nice cakes and tasty sandwiches with natural orange juice and coffee or tea. And the best of all: people was really really kind!

    Ana2014-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • Super nice and delightful hosts! The space was great for two people and the bathroom was huge. It's centrally located so everything in Amsterdam was right around the corner. The breakfast voucher got us a great little breakfast. Make sure you read the hours cause we totally over slept our first day, luckily they still gave us breakfast but had to do it as take-away. We also got a great discount on bike rental around the corner. The only minor annoyance is that there is a lot of noise if you keep the window open. Overall great time & place.

Beautiful designed top floor studio in houseboat with a large terrace and amazing views over the water. The studio is very light. Enjoy living on the water with easy and quick access to the inner city centre (with a free private parking place).
Please do know that this private studio is on the top floor of the houseboat and is available for my guests while I am living myself on the two bottom floors of the houseboat. It would be great if can send me an inquiry before making a reservation request as I might have promised the studio to other guests that still have to make the booking. And do please feel free to contact me if you would like to have some more information or if you have any questions. The bright and light studio is on the top floor of the houseboat and accommodates four people. It has 1 double bed and a couch that converts to a really comfortable double sleeping bed. The studio has a modern bathroom and has a large terrace with seating to relax and enjoy outside. Please do also know that the studio does not have a full kitchen, but it is equipped with a good microwave/oven, fridge, water cooker, coffee machine (with free tea/coffee).
IJburg is a modern architectural area with beautifully designed boats in Amsterdam. The area has all the facilities and amenities you need including supermarkets, some nice restaurants & bars and a great beach with beach club Blijburg. Here you can also go sailing, windsurfing, kite surfing and paddle boarding. There is also a nice harbour.
  • Amazing place! Sleeping in a house boat is a "must do" . Beautiful veiw from the terrace, there is plenty space to move around. Everything is modern, new and clean. You can be in Amsterdam Central Station in less than 10 min. Aart lend us a bicycle to go to a supermarket. Much better than a Hotel, the house boat was a real experience!

    Renata2015-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and i have booked aarts houseboat for a weekend Trip. It was absolute lovely. Its interior is very modern and nice. Even the location is very central. the neighborhood is beautyful and the city center is reachable in a few minutes by tram. Everything was like aart described it and he was a friendly and helpful host. We felt very well and can highly recommend his accommodation.

    Teresa2014-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was fantastic. Aart was more than helpful with everything that we needed. Cozy little place right on the water, easy access to the tram to the center of the city.

    Cory2016-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment is great! The host was helpful and friendly. The boat and the outside area was fantastic! Location was spot on, 2 minute walk to the tram and 10 minutes to the centre of Amsterdam. There is a big supermarket just one tram stop away (10 minute walk) and you also get the added bonus of bikes included! We will be coming back for our next trip to Amsterdam.

    Becky2016-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • Aart is a great host! Myself and my friends, who stayed with me, were absolutely backed down by his kindness and friendliness, especially the morning pancakes :) This is not to say that the place is great. It is clean, spacious, with a lot of sunlight. I would strongly recommend Aart and his house boat if you are seeking a high-standard comfortable stay and looking to meet great new people!

    Roman2014-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • I had a wonderful stay at Aart's place. The flat is modern, clean and has everything you need. The area is very beautiful as well, and close to city centre. Aart also gave me good advice on restaurant and places to visit. Will definitely stay here if I visit Amsterdam again!

    Ellen2014-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • Our family had a great 4 night stay on Aart's houseboat. Quiet neighbourhood, easy access to Amsterdam and all the tourist attractions. The houseboat was very clean and comfortable, will definitely stay here again. Thanks Aart.

    Dorothy2015-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic accommodation in a perfect location. Top floor of Aarts houseboat is clean, with a fantastic sundeck overlooking the water. Worth a visit for the incredible architecture alone. Aart was welcoming and helpful, and made us feel at home right away. The houseboat is no more than 12 minutes away from the centre via a very regular tram-quiet and relaxing but close enough to the sights Can't recommend it highly enough

My home is 15 min away from the center of Amsterdam and 5 min away from the metro. best part is My place is close to The Metro, The best Italian and Burger restaurant you've ever seen, supermarkets, bakeries, drugstores.. You’ll love my place because of the coziness, the location, the people and my antique collection. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, families (with kids), and big groups.
The room is cozy and clean and comes with a desk, cabinet and printer. some of the walls need to be repainted a bit
Its super calm and really cozy. lots of parks and pets and greenery
  • Peters home is great for young travelers! The bathroom is situation is 2 shared bathrooms however he has 2 air bnbs in his home so there could be up to 6 people who are sharing. The other thing to note is that he has 2 cats and everything has cat hair. He also collects antiques and so there is a lot of dust throughout the home. Other than those details our stay was great! Peter was very helpful with recommendations and even drove us to get dinner the first night because we got in late!

    Macy2018-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • Peter has an interesting place filled with antiques. I liked the place and had a pleasant stay. He was quick with responses and was kind enough to let us leave our bags at his place even before check in time, so we would carry on with our tour baggage less. It is a great locality and 5-10 min walk from the metro. He is a cool host. Will return for sure.

    Krishna Varaynya2018-05-11T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived late due to our plane delay and Peter left a key for us so we finally checked in, but we vstill had a few upsetting issues with this room. First, Peter is not a very communicative host. He never asked us about the time of our arrival and when we informed him, he answered in the last minute after two (Hidden by Airbnb) reminders. secondly, the house is not very clean. The bdsheets have stains, the room smells of cat and has a lot of cat hair. There were no towels, too. Thirdly, the room is badly sound-proved. We couldn't get much sleep because of a baby's activity. However, the house itself is atmospheric and worth seeing.

    Sergey2018-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Peter's house is lovely and he is responsive, extremely hospitable and great to talk to. He speaks multiple languages fluently and provided great conversation! Thank you again Peter!

    John2018-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • However we have not met Peter in personal but everything was arranged properly. The room was ok. Regarding the price it is recommended offer for budget travellers.

    Dávid2018-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • Really nice place with lots of curious antiques. Perfect to visit Amsterdam.

    Germán2018-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Very cosy room. Close to metro and very convenient to get to the centre. Peter is very friendly. Thank you much!

  • Cozy little house just outside Amsterdam. About 30 minutes away by train from the city center, but quite close to the metro stop. Also just one stop away from a nice little shopping center in Diemen - well recommended by Peter. Perfect place to crash for the night after a long day around the canals.

Room in penthouse apartment with view on typical Dutch 'gracht' and around the corner of the Museum Plein. Room is small but with new furniture. Very good location (Pijp/Old South) and excellent access to public transport.
Spacious (110m2) penthouse apartment divided over two floors at a typical 'gracht'. 3rd floor: huge living/dining room with modern kitchen (which can be used and has Nespresso/tea/oven...) and balcony. On this floor you will find the guest room facing the gracht and a private toilet with sink and all necessary things you may need such as hair dryer etc. On the 4th floor is the master bed- and bathroom. The master bedroom is used by the hosts during your stay. The bathroom has a shower and a bath tub to be shared with us when we are around. It is a typical Dutch house, steep stairs and no lift. But we are happy to help carry. This apartment is not suitable for people that have trouble with walking stairs and small children!!!! The apartment is on the same street than the Rijksmuseum and the famous 'I am Amsterdam' sign, less than a 10min walk to the Museumplein with the van Gogh and other museums. We are located on the edge of the trendy and vibrant Pijp and the cultural/elegant Old South of Amsterdam. Access to public transport, airport and all train stations in Amsterdam is excellent.
The "Pijp" is one of the hippest neighborhoods in Amsterdam and we live on the edge of the 'Pijp' and "Oud-Zuid" with the Vondelpark and Museumsplein within 10 min walking, where you can find the van Gogh and Rijksmuseum and other attractions. The Pijp has tons of cozy and hip coffee places and great restaurants. I will send you a more detailed 'fun' map with great blogs about the city once you are a confirmed guest. Shopping is also great in the small stores all around us. We live a very short walk away from the Ferdinand Bolstraat/Ceintuurbaan and the famous Albert Cuypmarkt. We live in close proximity to the Saphatipark, which is dog friendly and you can walk your dog off leash. Within 20 min walk (or bike ride or tram 10min) you are in the heart of Amsterdam, the Dam, Red light district, you name it.
  • Melody and her spouse welcomed us with open arms. The second we walked in we felt like we were at home. They told us about the city with history and places to see and eat. The location is great for walking and the neighborhood is friendly and beautiful.

Pauls girlfriend Linde greeted us on arrival, and went through the house rules etc. They had prepared a book of tips and tricks, including directions, things to do and where to eat. The apartment itself is a large older modern apartment. It is clean, everything works, and it’s slightly quirky space provides very good accommodation for 6 people. All beds are bunk beds. • Very pleasant

    Jules2018-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay. The area felt very safe and was super quiet, yet 20 minutes from Centraal Station by tram. There is a nice view spot by the water at the end of the street. Communication was clear, we felt like if we needed anything it would be taken care of since the hosts were next door, yet the were very respectful and quiet. Great place to spend with your significant other. It is small but have all that you need, since you probably don't want to spend much time inside either. The bathroom was extra clean, which is important to me :) Thanks again Ruben and Gaby!

    Isabelle2017-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • Ruben and Gaby's place worked out great. The location is excellent because it's quiet and peaceful out of the city center but such a short easy trip to pretty much any part of the city. We easily got comfortable on the public transit so it was no problem. The studio is clean and has everything you need, however we were disappointed in the wifi, which we were relying on heavily due to international roaming rates. And we felt like the bed linens could have been newer/fresher. Otherwise it was nice and the bakery they recommended nearby was delicious!

    Caitlin2017-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • The neighborhood is great, Eastern Docklands. This studio is perfect. Gabby and Ruben have thought about everything. they're the perfect discreet hosts

    Jeffrey2015-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks for being a great host! You were very welcoming and made sure we had a great stay in Amsterdam. I would recommend the apartment to anyone!

A cosy private room ( 12 sq meter ) on the top floor ( 3rd floor ) of my apartment. You'll have your own private bedroom and bathroom with shower, toilet and sink. A former servants and laundry room converted to a guest room. Not far from Amsterdam Centre ( 20 minutes by tram ) Be aware that you have to walk up 3 flights of narrow stairs with your suitcases. Not for the faint hearted. So If you can't do it please don't book this accomodation.
Not in the Centre of Amsterdam but just 30 minutes outside in a nice, peacefull and characterfull residential neighbourhood from the 30's built in Amsterdamse School style (This is actually the neigbourhood where Anne Frank has lived before the WW-II) . A small, cosy room. With private bath (not shared). Notice that it is the Top floor and it can get quite hot in summer ( sometimes around 30 celcius ) . But you always can open the big windows and you have a very nice ceiling fan ( which can run silently even when you're asleep ).
NEIGHBOURHOOD: The room is located in a peacefull residential neighbourhood but not in the centre of amsterdam. Supermarkets, cafe's and restaurants are just 2 minutes walking away. Within 7 minutes walking distance you'll have access to trams lines 4 and 12 ( Stop Victorieplein ) .The City Centre is about 15 - 30 minutes by tram or bike. - Supermarkets bakeries and Deli shops are just 2 minutes walking away and open daily from 9.00 h untill 22.00 h
  • Great room in a quiet yet urban area of Amsterdam. A big thumbs-up for the possibility to have a cup of hot tea in the room before heading out! Would definitely stay there again!

    Teresa2018-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • Henry and Iris were really helpful, as they gave us useful tips for moving around the city and suggested us great places to eat. The room was very clean and having a private bathroom was really nice. The house, although outside the city center, was very well connected to it and to the rest of the city. The neighborhood was quiet with all the necessary facilities, such as supermarkets, nearby.

    Dafni2018-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic 3 nights in Amsterdam. Henry's room and bathroom are absolutely spotless and they feel completely private even though it's part of the house. It's very quiet and peaceful at night and the bed was big and very comfy. He provided everything you need like towels and shampoo etc and was very quick to respond to any communication. The tram is a short walk and gets you all the way into central or just a few stops to De Pijp which is lovely local neighbourhood for delicious brunch and dinner, speciality coffee and concept stores to browse. The cafe bar Vrijdag he recommends close by is great for a cosy beer or snack in the evening. Would highly recommend.

  • Very clean, quiet and nice room with private bathroom. Host is polite and helpful with good communication.

    Andrew2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • The bed is probably one of the most comfortable I’ve slept in. The little private bathroom is great as well. The neighbourhood is great and Henry replied within seconds/minutes to a query. Really enjoyed my stay here!

    Jochem2018-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • A bit far from the Center but it’s close to De Pijp where offer loads of food choices. And in fact, it’s just half an hour walk to the museum area. Good to access everything. Room and bathroom are clean and detached from the host’s flat. Great privacy.

    Jess2018-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • Henry's place is perfect if you want a quiet place from which you can discover the city. There are several tram and bus stops within 10 minutes walking distance and the major attractions can be reached via direct connections. There are cafes and supermarkets close by. We got a very warm welcome from Henry, he explained us everything and said if we need anything else we should talk to him - for which there was no need because everything was already there - it was perfect. Thanks a lot!

Room in Amsterdam, 12 m2, 15 minutes from the center of Amsterdam by tram. Trams run every 6 minutes. Room in modern recently built and house. Condo with private gardens. Own Keys. To share kitchen and bathrooms. I am sorry no babies and no third-party reservations. Airport pick up available for 30 Euros.
A nice little house located in a small condominium with its own private gardens. IJburg is a new Amsterdam district composed of 5 islands. We are located on the biggest of the islands. There is a beach, wind surf center, nice restaurants and parks.
Modern architecture based on the Old city center of Amsterdam. Beautiful houses, parks and marina. Lots and lots of migratory birds (depending on the time of the year). Shopping center and medical center. 15 minute walk from the only beach in Amsterdam and a 10 minute walk to a beautiful park. Next to the Marina, a mere 10 minute walk there are very good cafes and restaurants. Shopping center with two supermarkets is only 10 mintes away. Switchpark at 5 minute walk, park your car for 7,50 Euro a day!
  • Perfect host for a perfect stay.

    Camille2017-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Very close to public transport, and only a 20 minute tram ride into the main centre of Amsterdam, an ideal location for those not wanting to be caught up in the business of the city!

    Phillippa2018-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Very recommendable accommodation in a modern and safe neighbourhood. Citycenter is just 10 minutes away by tram.

  • If you're looking to visit Amsterdam, and don't mind staying a little ways out of the center of the city, this is a great place to stay! Flavio was very welcoming, and the place was exactly as described. The only issue we had with the location was actually finding the entrance for the first time. (The entrance is not accessible from the main street). When we arrived, Flavio told us about a shopping center right down the street that had a delicious bagel shop in it. It was perfect for grabbing breakfast on the way to the city. Although this apartment is a outside of the downtown area, there is a tram stop right by the apartment and it runs every 5 minutes for most of the day. The room was as described, and Flavio made us feel very welcome to use the kitchen and living room. Although we didn't get to talk to the Flavio much, he was a very nice host. He even washed our laundry for us since we were busy having fun in the city! Thanks Flavio for hosting us in the great city of Amsterdam!

    Jason2015-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • Flavio's place is simply perfect! So close to the tram to Amsterdam central and so many cool spots. Stay here and only here!

    Zachary2017-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Flávio was a fantastic host. Myself and my girlfriend missed our plane and so arrived at the house a few hours later than was planned and while Flávio was away. He was very understanding and made arrangements for our late check in. The house was also spotless and less than 20 minutes from the city centre. All in all a fantastic stay, thanks Flávio!

    Shane2018-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • A fantastic place to stay in Amsterdam. Flávio was a great host - good communication with detailed directions on how to get to his place, and happy to help if you need recommendations. Room was clean and tidy - perfect for our stay in Amsterdam. Highly recommended!

    Abbie2017-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Flavio's house was the last place we stayed during our month long trip through Europe. It was very homely and comfy, with a great kitchen. The location for perfect for us - trams came every 6 minutes that went right to centraal station, so we could explore Amsterdam all we wanted and still come back to the not touristy area Flávio lives, which was ideal. Right around the place are groceries stores and cafes, and some really great restaurants. We picnicked 5 mins from this apartment at the edge of the water, it was a beautiful location! Flávio was incredibly sweet, so easy to communicate with and flexible with check in. Great spot!

Dear guest, please make sure you read the whole description. This is a private room and not a whole apartment. Of course you can use the whole apartment, but apart from the private room, you will share it with me :-).
THE ROOMS: I let 2 private rooms on the top floor of my apartment. The beautiful thing about the rooms is that they still shows authentic style details from the 1900 era (see pictures). Although I have 2 private rooms, I will only accept 1 party at the time. There will be no other guests during your stay. The first room is big and has a double bed. The second room is small and has a single bed only. So if your party consists of three people, two of you can stay in the big room and the other can stay in the small room. If there is only two of you, but you do not want to share the bed, you can sleep in two different rooms as well. In that case I will charge 30 Euro for the use of the second room. Please send me an inquiry if you would like to use this option so I will be able to adjust proces accordingly. Furthermore: - Double bed + single bed - Lit jumeaux (XXL cover on the bed) - Enough space for your suitcases to be out of sight - Built-in closet for hanging your clothes - Extra closet for other clothes and private ownings - Blinding rollers - Wifi On the same floor you will find: - Private restroom - Nice bathroom with large walk-in rain shower (hairdryer and towels are available, so you can leave these at home) - Big bath - Private sink - Washer and dryer available On the third floor there is a fully equipped kitchen which you can use at any time, no problem. You will even have your own fridge. If you would like to have a private breakfast, lunch or dinner, just let me know, and I will make arrangements not to be there. The lounge or living room is huge (at least for local standards) and can also be used at any time. THE APARTMENT: The building was built in 1902 and nowadays is a municipal monument. I bought the apartment in 2009 and had it fully renovated to contemporary standards. The total apartment measurers 1,600 square feet or 150 square meters. On the roof there is a terrace that measures 650 square feet or 60 square meters. The apartment does not have the typical Amsterdam small and narrow staircases. Note: I do live in the same apartment. Therefore, apart from the private rooms, we will share the place. THE BREAKFAST: I do not serve breakfast. I know, bummer! However, the Old-West area is a very popular district in Amsterdam with lots of restaurants and bars. Most of them serve breakfast too. I would specifically recommend Bagels & Beans, within a 2 minutes walk, for a very nice but affordable meal (see pictures, and search for the website for the most recent menu). THE PARKING: In the Old-West area there is usually enough space to park your car (street parking). The rates are rather high though (3 euro an hour or 27 euro for a full day). There are some great alternatives however. There is an option to park your car in one of the transferia right off the highway for only 8 euros a day, including two return tram tickets to the center. Feel free to contact me for some extra information about this option. Because the apartment is on the third and fourth floor and no elevator is available, it is not accesssible for wheelchairs. What do I ask from you?: That's easy, just be a good guest and act like it's you're visiting a friend's home. Bring your good mood too, it's a friendly city. I am looking forward to hosting you!
THE LOCATION: Right on the edge of Amsterdam Old-West. This means that it's a 5 minutes’ walk to Jordaan District, one of the hot spots of Amsterdam. Anne Frank House is only 10 minutes away and Dam Square only 15 (all by foot). Furthermore Leidseplein Entertainment Area is a 12 minutes’ walk. Right in front of the apartment there are 4 tram lines that take you to all sights in the city. Direct lines will take you to for example: - Artis Zoo - Museum District with Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum or the recently re-opened Municipal Museum of modern art - Albert Cuyp Market - Red Light District - Rembrandtplein Entertainment Area - Dam Square - Anne Frank House - Vondelpark - Several theatres - 9 Straatjes (9 little streets) for shopping Within a range of 150 meters there is a supermarket, Turkish bakery and a fresh fruit and vegetables stand. Bike rental is less than 2 minutes away and of course travelling by bike is the Amsterdam way! You should try this at least once.
  • Bob was the most welcome host. He was friendly and sociable and even enjoyed a glass of wine with us on his lovely roof deck. His apartment is spectacular. And you'll love the rain shower! Bob has done a beautiful job renovating his excellent flat, while paying attention to historic details. And Amsterdam is just a magical city. I would not hesitate to recommend Bob, his apartment (and even his sweet, tomcat Fritz)!

    Camaron2014-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had an enjoyable stay at Bob’s- he was an excellent host and very knowledgeable about the area. Room was just as described and he always responded within a timely fashion. Would recommend!

    Keith2017-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Bob is really a funny guy~ His cat "Fritz" is also a funny cat:)) The house is clean and bright, the traffic is very easy for visiting some famous scene. Although we were sick in the period of staying in Amsterdam, Bob still gave us his concern and convenience. I really recommend this place for staying in Amsterdam.

    Fong2013-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Bob's was fantastic. He's such a nice person and we had a fabulous time in Amsterdam. The apartement looks exactly as in the pictures and it's relatively close to the city centre. Bob is very forthcoming and is very well prepared for guests. We felt very much at home. :)

  • We had an awesome stay at Bob's place. The place is close to the centre, about 10-15min walking distance. The apartment was beautiful and had a magnificent bathroom and bedroom. If we decide to go back it will be this place again for sure. The place alone makes it worthwhile to go back to Amsterdam! I can fully recommend this place, including Bob, who is a great host!

Our recently renovated guesthouse is situated in our garden, not far from the houseboat where we live in with our family. The bathroom is 10 meter away from the guesthouse in our entrance hall of our houseboat, for which you do not need to enter the houseboat and will never disturb us. It is a quiet place not far from town, by bike it take only 15 -20 minutes to the center. It is a wonderful combination of being in a quiet place near the river and having all the attractions of Amsterdam nearby.
It is a very nice and cosy room with a woodstove, which is private for yourself. If you want to check in before 6 pm let me know then we see if it is possible. After 10 pm also please ask, if it is possible. When you arrive at the airport after 9 pm we prefer a pick up from there for 20 euro.
Nice quiet area with trees, a beautiful park nearby called Amstelpark and of course the unique view of river Amstel where we live on. Nearby is restaurant (also for breakfast and lunch, open only till 9pm!) Thuis aan de Amstel. RAI congrescenter is nearby. Albert Cuypmarket or Museumsquare is only 15 minutes by bike. Damsquare and Central Station about 20-25 minutes.
  • I enjoyed my stay very much! I rented a bike! First time bicycling in Amsterdam. It was funny! I survived! Nice hospitality! I can really recomend this guesthouse! Nice people!

  • I had absolutely wonderful days at Marga's house! Guest house was warm and cozy We played a lot of music together and I loved it :) little far from the city center but it's just cuz of I can't ride on bike xD I won't forget the time in there and I would like to go her house again if I have another travel to Amsterdam! Thanks to Marga and her family(especially Okki) for having great days in Amsterdam!

  • Amazing holiday!! Just what I need

    Wiktoria2018-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • It was a nice and lovely stay in the Marga&Rico's guesthouse. The place is a little paradise, really quiet and relax. You can reach downtown really easily by bike (you can rent bikes directly at Marga and Rico). Marga and Rico give you the feel of "make yourself at home".

    Antoine2016-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Marga and Rico are really nice. They came to the station to pick me up and help me with a lot about my lost luggage. I really appreciate it. The house is exactly as the picture showed, clean, warm and cozy. The map and the travel guidance are also helpful. Rico recommended me good places to visit on his way to work and drops me in a very convenient location. The decorations inside and outside are pretty. This is my first time to see a real boat house. That is a lovely and warm design. Thank you very much, Marga and Rico. Thank you for everything. I definitely recommend it and perhaps I will go with my friends again next time.

    Alice2016-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • This beautiful guest house is perched on the river bank. The location is stunning and an easy bicycle ride from all of Amsterdam's many attractions. Marga's family were extremely hospitable and helpful. I would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Amsterdam.

    Meredith2015-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great stay at Marga and Rico's. Marga was a great host and made me feel very welcome. I also loved that they had bikes available for rent.

    Shelby2018-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • It is a cosy little guest house on the river and very private from the family. It was great to be able to get breakfast here and also a bike or rent for the day. The wood stove keeps the room snug and warm. I was allowed to check in at 3.30pm. If you're arriving from North America it's a long wait until you can check in. You can ask to leave your bags at the guest house. And come back when it's time to check in. I was very tired when I arrived but marga and Rico made me comfortable and warm quickly

Our host had placed a few drinks in our fridge for us, the draws were full with every utensil you would need as well as EU plug adapters. There is a tram stop about 10 minutes away which is about €3 into centrum. This is well worth a stay.

  • Enjoyed my stay! Location is not a big issue since it is just minutes from train station. The surroundings are beautiful and the place was exactly as described. The city is reachable by train which in turn also lets just see what's outside of central Amsterdam on the way. Highly recommended!

  • Appie and Babette place is perfect, lovely, cosy, clean and well equipped. It's perfect for a weekend in Amsterdam ! You have a 25 minutes tramway ride to Amsterdam center. I really recommend this place ! Thank you Appie and Babette

  • Great garden apartment, private entrance, use of bikes, tram close by, perfect location, perfect apartment.

    Tina2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Nice guesthouse, excellent amenities, good cooking facilities. Bikes to use to get around. Close to airport but no noise. It is a little way out from the centre of Amsterdam , but tram runs to town

    Jessie2018-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in Appie and Babette Garden House for 2 nights. We did not meet Appie and Babette- which we had expected because there had been no communication otherwise that there would be any other hosts. When we arrived in front of the house, it had appeared like no one was home. Eventually someone came out to ask if we were the guests for the AirBnB, we then learned he was the son of Appie and Babette. He let us into the front door of the home, eventually taking us to the back of the house down a very dangerous flight of stairs. Each step was about half the size of a regular step. It was snowing in amsterdam so i was very nervous walking down the stairs. The son did carry one of our luggages which was nice. He did not show us around the unit but rather quickly said the bathroom is in the back before leaving. After about 30 mins into our stay we realized the unit was extremely cold and uncomfortable. The cable tv did not seem to work either. We contacted Appie and Babette by email - did not know how to contact the son - and apparently she had sent her son to help us w the temperature in the unit as well as the cable tv, however Appie and Babette did not arrange with us ahead of time that she would be sending her son to address our questions. We were not at the apartment at the time she said she sent her son for assistance - understandable as we had just arrived and knew how far from the city centre we were so we wanted to grab a bite. The area of Appie and Babette does not have a lot of food places around. Comfort level of our stay was at best low to mediocre. The unit was extremely cold even after Appie and Babette gave us a (broken) space heater. The cable tv was not intuitive to turn on without assistance- the box was hidden behind the TV. The kitchen sink was extremely dirty- not your typical stainless steel sink - it was made our of plastic - very obvious that it used to be white but when we arrived it was almost brown and had a bit of odour. The pot I picked up thinking to boil water had old food stuck on it. The bathroom is very dark. The place was a lot further from the city centre than described in ad as well as after speaking with the hosts. We were told over and over again it is a 10 mins commute to the closest tram station. The garden home is in a residential area that takes about at least 18-20 mins walk to the tram to the city centre. After communicating this a day into our stay to the hosts, the hosts clarified that it would be a “10 mins bike ride” however we even found this...

    Jennifer2017-12-11T00:00:00Z
  • Our hosts, Appie and Babette are charming and very welcoming. Upon our arrival, Appie showed us the lovely garden house. It was decorated for Christmas. Later on in the day, Appie took my husband around the area to show him the grocery stores, bus and tramway stops. Both Appie and Babette were very helpful. The area is quiet.

    Sylvie2016-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • Myself and my partner stayed here for a mini break in Amsterdam. When we arrived there was pizza in the freezer and cans of pop in the fridge for us. Appie and Babette allowed us to use the bikes to which we spent a full day on and visited Amsterdam. There were lots of nice little touches in the apartment and we would definitely recommend staying there. Appie was quick to reply to any queries and was more than helpful.

Situated in the Jordaan, the coolest, hippest place in Amsterdam. Treat yourself to a self catering private guest quarters with: free coffee/tea, and a big comfy bed. Comfortable for 2 adults (and possibly up to max 2 more on another pull out bed).
Located in the heart of the Jordaan, in city central Amsterdam. Our backroom, formally the guest quarters of an artist atelier, is on the ground floor, access to a garden, fully private and all main attractions, cafe's / restaurants, and shopping are within a walking distance. Our neighborhood rocks! There is always something going on. Festivals, concerts, and everyday shopping on the nine's streets, dining or getting a drink in the many bars and restaurants. You have a private, "Amsterdam style" ensuite bathroom (shower, toilet), a great real bed, a microwave / oven, fridge / freezer, a Nespresso machine, and a great skylight. The studio apartment can sleep up to 2 adults comfortably, and up to max 2 more on a pull our day bed. If you are coming with 4 people, we ask for a 2 night minimum stay. It's just too much laundry for 1 night. The garden area is great to use on a nice day and the room has these amazing glass ceilings which bring in a lot of natural light. As a guest, you will pass through our main house, but your room is totally private with your own main entrance to the room which is on the other side of the garden. You have full access to the garden, and if you need anymore cooking utensils, or hangers, or anything else, just ask! We are available whenever you need us. If we are not home, simpele write is a note. The tram stop and bus station is located at the end of our street. There is also a taxi stop. We are located minutes from the Marnixstraat bus station. We continuously try to improve our B&B; so we got a nice rug the keep your feet warm from the tile, 2 eco friendly ceramic heaters and a great real bed.
The Elandsgracht is a well known street and area in the Jordaan. There are many great restaurants, and shops on our street. Once you walk over the bridge from the Prinsengracht, you enter the nine streets, one of the most popular shopping areas in the City. The Anne Frank House is just a 5 minute walk from our place.
  • The backroom at Shawna's place is the loveliest garden hideaway. It looks just like it is pictured...beautiful! It is spacious enough for two people to spread out and be comfortable, It can be a bit bright as you are sleeping underneath a glass ceiling, but Shawna provides eye masks which were great. Shawna was very responsive to my emails. Her and her family were very nice and helpful and gave us some great tips for touring Amsterdam. The backroom is in a great part of town of Amserdam. I would definitely stay there again.

  • Great location, great hosts and a lovely place. The neighborhood was amazing and we were within walking distance of nearly everything. The family was warm and accommodating. They were a pleasure to interact with. The backroom was quaint as could be and just like the pictures. I would not hesitate to stay there again.

  • Nice host and lovely studio! I'll definitely come back when I visit Amsterdam again :)

    Vicky2013-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • perfect for a few night's rest. place was clean and in a great spot.

    Cheryl2011-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • My daughter and I spent one night at Shawna's place and it was great. The best thing about this place is the location, but it's also very comfortable and well designed. There is a lovely garden in the back that makes a big difference. During the day the room gets a bit hot because the roof is a skylight, but with the door open it's very comfortable. We enjoyed our stay very much.

    Robin2018-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent location! Beautiful home. We had a very friendly welcome, privacy, and very pretty courtyard. Everything you need is only a few minutes walk away - many great restaurants, bars, supermarket, post office, coffee, canals, and Amsterdam splendor. But most of all, Shawna and co were all super sweet. Our next trip we will plan on staying again for sure.

    jan2011-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time in Amsterdam. The room is excellent located in a great neighborhood. At our visits it was at Queensday, so we had a great party in this area :). I really would recommend this room.

    Katarina2013-05-02T00:00:00Z
  • Myself and 2 others stayed in The Backroom for 4 nights. It is a lovely room, perfect for 3 people. Shawna and her family are helpful and friendly, and the house is in a great location. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go in the city. I definitely recommend staying here!

My cozy room is situated in a great neighborhood and is 5 min away from the metro and 15- 20 min away from the center. I'm a young antique collector and love to give lectures on the subject (: Guest can make use of all facilities(exept my private quarters) Mijn ruimte is vlakbij openbaar vervoer en gezinsvriendelijke activiteiten. Je zult genieten van mijn plek vanwege het comfortabele bed, de gezelligheid en de keuken. Mijn ruimte is geschikt voor stellen, solo-avonturiers en grote groepen.
it's on the 3rd floor (attic) so you have a great view of the neighborhood
it's Amsterdam without the ceaseless noise. my house is in one of the quietest and nicest places in north Holland. best of all, Amsterdam is only 15 min away by metro.
  • Householder is helpful and the room is comfortable.

  • Nice room in a quiet place. Gererd is a nice host and shared with us many intersting things. Friendly kittens.

    Yingtao2017-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Overall it was easy to find and a fairly convenient location. However Gerard was not there to meet us and we were greeted by a housemate who did not know why we had arrived... and consequently stayed in the attic room with the smell of marijuana wafting up to our room. Stairs were very small and steep and difficult for tall people to climb! We were also not told where the toilet was located so explored for ourselves. It was acceptable but expensive for what we received.

    Anjali2017-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • It was an amazing experience, host is great, the location is really nice and there is a cat ❤️❤️ I highly recommend!

    Vitor2018-04-12T00:00:00Z
  • Gererd's place was a really great way to experience Amsterdam. Not in the city centre itself but a short train ride to the centre which only takes about 10 -15 minutes. He was a great host, super nice and friendly. This place was in a really beautiful neighbourhood. This is a great place to stay if you don't enjoy the hustle bustle of the city life but still want to see Amsterdam.

  • The accommodation option was very big but scruffy. We didn't feel really comfortable but it was cool that we could use the kitchen and mostly the rest of the house. If it was cleaner and well-smelling/well-cared it would've been a cool place to stay. We had a problem with coming into the house because no one was there.

This room is on the top floor of our guesthouse, that's why we call it the attic room. It's available for one person and only if our single room is not available anymore. The room is very basic, but has a comfortable bed. This is also the reason why it's cheaper than our other rooms.
The guesthouse is in the centre of Amsterdam, close to public transport and most of tourist spots of the city, like clubs, bars, restaurants, museums and shops.
  • Great location and Edwin was very friendly / easy going. The room was clean and comfortable. Enjoyed my stay and I would definitely stay in the same place next time I visit Amsterdam.

    Jazz2015-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • What you see is what you get, a very comfy bed in a small, clean cosy attic room in a lively street with many restaurants and steps from tram station which is very convenient if you don't like to walk with your luggage. The stairs to the room are very narrow so I would recommend this for light travellers and not shopping addicts or VERY tall people, as the room is an attic the sealing is low. Edwin is a great host very sociable and attentive, communication check in and out very smooth and relaxed. Definitely a good option if you don't like the loudness from the youngsters tourist of the city centre. Advice: rent a bike for your stay, its SO much easier and fun to move around bicycling, great city to do so.

    Flavio D.2014-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Edwin was awesome and really nice host. He kept the flat clean. The room is small but very comfortable. The location was perfectly in the center you can go every attractions by walking (even go shopping). I had a very nice stay in the flat. Highly recommend !!!

    Yi Chieh2015-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Edwin was very easy to communicate with and responsive. He was welcoming and have great local recommendations. The location was absolutely perfect, centrally located and on a great block. Highly recommended!

  • Nice greeting. Top location. Great little old house.

    Peter2015-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent place and host

    Daniele2017-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • The place is very centrally located. You walk out the door and you're pretty much right in the middle of everything. It can get rather noisy at night thought because it is close to nightlife. The apartment itself is very small, but has everything you need. It's a bit hard to get up to the room, as you basically have to climb a very narrow flight of stairs.

    Jake2017-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • The location is absolutely superb. It is ideal for a solo city break. Coming up and down the narrow and steep stairs to/from room is a little bit tricky, requires focus, but the room is private. It is loud all night so if you sleep like a log, that won't be a problem. Also reminds you you are in the middle of it all. Edwin is kind and gives great tips and directions. The place is clean and cozy. I had a great time!

  • Karin's little cabin was very smazing. It was cozy, clean and near the famous tourist place like Zaanse Schans. Her breakfast was very good and more than enough. I had a chance to met Karin and her mother in law. Both of them were very friendly and helpful. We will recommend this amazing place to our friends and family. Thank you!

  • The best air BnB we have every stayed at. So friendly and helpful, amazing breakfast, Karin even dropped us to and from the train station . We loved the neighborhood far enough away from the city hussle and bussle and close to a cute little town famous for windmills. We borrowed the two person biked and explored. The cottage was beautiful, the perfect weekend getaway.

  • Fantastic stay, the room was quiet, you had your own space with it being detached from the house. Karin knew we were going into the city so when we arrived we were given bus passes which were preloaded with money - this was an extremely great help! Very clean. Would recommend

    Angela2017-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • You will be absolutely spoiled at Karin's! My daughter and I stayed over Christmas for three nights, we wished it had been a week or more! Karin is a gracious hostess who has all the little extras right there. She has bus passes which are preloaded for trips into the city. There are bikes available if the weather is nice. We loved the location because it put us outside the city, but close to a bus that shot us into the city within 30 minutes. Karin offers wonderful advice on places to visit and restaurants. The kitchenette is nice with all the things necessary to make a meal or have snacks. I would recommend you take advantage of Karin's breakfasts. Delicious! The little cabin is so cozy. We were very comfortable there. I can't wait until I can go back and stay longer. You won't be disappointed with this booking!

    Katrina2016-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very nice stay at Karin's place, one of my best airbnb experiences so far. The cabin is really cozy, clean and equipped with all necessary things and the breakfast was just perfect. Thank you again, Karin

  • Alex was lovely and really made us feel welcome. The room was in a perfect location close to everything. It was cosy, clean and had a very dutch feel to it, which we loved. The bed was very comfortable! The bathroom was a bit small and also can get cold in the morning. However, we enjoyed our stay.

In the monumental house just around the corner of the Prinsengracht you can feel very homey and enjoy the Amsterdam experience.
The house is a typical crooked tiny Amsterdam house, in which you can find your studio/bedroom on the first floor. Very typical for Amsterdam, the studio/bedroom is tiny and the space has been very economically used. In your room, you will find a double bed, coffee and tea facilities, space to hang your clothes, a fresh bathroom with rainshower, and a nice view onto the Amsterdam streets (and part of the canal!).
The neighborhood is in the very, very heart of Amsterdam. Once you step outside of the house, you are in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the city center. If you go to the right, you will immediately stumble upon the Prinsengracht, one of the main canals. You can take a walk on the Spiegelstraat with its art galleries and delicious coffee and lunch places. It is an ideal starting point for a stroll along Amsterdam's canals and tiny streets! If you go to the left, you will find yourself soon on the Leidseplein, one of the main squares in Amsterdam. There you will find the famous discotheque Paradiso, which is located inside a church. Also, a few minutes further down the road, you will find yourself on the museum square, where the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum and the municipal museum are located. If you wish to explore other parts of the city, you can easily take a tram on either the Leidseplein or the Leidsestraat, both less than a minute walk from the house.
  • Very small space but the location absolutely trumps the size of the room (and really, who goes to Amsterdam and stays in their room anyway). Extremely clean and although there was some trouble with our flight coming in Fleur was amazingly quick with responding to my messages and she gave many helpful tips for where to go and what to see. Would 100% stay there again!

    Justin2018-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Fleur's place was a super central way to discover Amsterdam and a great little room that had everything you needed. We weren't staying on the weekend so we only heard weeknight noise, but I had no trouble at all sleeping without earplugs. Thanks Fleur!

    Grace2017-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Nice tiny place in a great location

    Drew2017-04-09T00:00:00Z
  • House was beautiful and ever so quirky. Location was brilliant, Fleur has been very honest regarding the noise from the jazz bar opposite but everything was still perfect. Made to feel welcome and lots of information about where to go and what do was provided in our room!

    Freya2016-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • The home is very comfortable, clean and in a great position (you are in the central part, with transport and restaurants very close!). Than... You can see canals from the windows!!! And I love this detail! Fleur is very kind and she has a very fancy; the apartment has very soft and minimal furnished, but with great style! I love this home and I hope to come back again!

    Martina2016-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Fleur's apartment is a gorgeous little place, perfect for a couples weekend away. The apartment is located on a busy street so it is quite loud in the evenings, however Fleur kindly provided ear plugs. I would stay here again

    Daisy2017-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely stay in this cosy and charming pad just one block away from the buzzing Leidsestraat, within walking distance of Vondelpark, Museum square and tram stops. I loved the comfy bed! Fleur is a very welcoming host and always eager to help. I Wouldn't hesitate to book again.

    Roger2016-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Fleur's apartment. The neighborhood is lively and the apartment an easy walk (or short tram ride) from a lot of nice places. The studio is small but very clean and comfortable; we had everything we needed for a fun weekend and Fleur made the arrival/departure very convenient.

  • Location was right in the middle of active reassurance area, close to museums and other sites. Pauline was very responsive and helpful. Great experience.

    Eric2018-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • May 2016 Pauline's apartment was fantastic. Great location - easy access to all attractions, bars, restaurants and shopping. The apartment is very spacious. Plenty of room for two couples. There was only 1 set of keys for this apartment. It would have been very useful to have an extra set. Pauline was very helpful and prompt with her responses to questions. I would recommend this apartment.

    Trudie2016-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • The location is great. We rented bicycles and everything was within a 10 minute riding distance. The house is very nice and clean. The only drawback is that there is only 1 bathroom and the staircase to the house is pretty long - heavy travellers beware! A bit expensive but everything in Dam is quite pricey. All in all it was a great place in a great location!

    Samiksha2018-08-27T00:00:00Z

  • Pauline's flat was very nice and was a part of our wonderful experience in Amsterdam. The key pickup service was very convenient and the apartment was very easy to find on our own. The apartment is in a beautiful and quiet location within a walking distance to the city centre. The apartment itself is very beautiful, bright and has a nice view. It is also very clean and has essentials like shampoo and shower cream provided.

  • GREAT HOUSE, GREAT LOCATION!! Definitely recommend anyone to stay here if you want to be in the middle of a prime spot in amsterdam! Oh ya!! And not too many stairs!! Everything you need is right around the house!!

    Rayaan2017-12-14T00:00:00Z
  • Pauline's place is in the heart of Central area of town. Note that you are very close to lots of bars, restaurants and right on top of Rembrandt Square. That being said, it's VERY loud. Ear plugs are certainly needed to sleep at night. Pauline is not a real person. This is a property management company called BnB Manager that has 800 apartments, so if you are looking for a boutique experience of service, you will not get this. It feels like a property management company and any need for them to bring you something means a bike messenger/staffer will bring it in a few hours. The apartment itself is nice--I have to give them credit for that. But, we lacked basic necessities for a long trip: paper towels. We had 1 trash bag for a 12 day stay, 1 dishwasher tablet for a 12 day stay, we arrived to a set of dirty dishes in the dishwasher, and there was tons of dust underneath our beds. I actually sent a complaint note a few days in and someone eventually brought us some necessities (no hand soap despite my request), so they did respond, but for the premium we paid, this should have been taken care of from the outset. Location--nice, but very loud and very touristy, so be prepared for pretty consistent noise throughout the night (meaning until 3-4am). Restaurants--there are places to eat everywhere. Coffee shops --there are several in walking distance. Grocery shopping is very nearby as is the Flower Market. Laundry--there is a washer onsite, but no dryer so you have to hang dry your clothes. This is not an issue and is typical in Europe, but if you're on business, you have no iron, only an ironing board, so you have fend for yourself in regards to ironing. This was very frustrating given that there is an ironing board, but no iron. Linens--you will be given 1 towel per person, no more than that. Pillow cases arrived when the host arrived. Pillows--stained/yellowed and very used. Mattresses--note that if you are a couple, there flat has 4 single beds and the main bed is pushed together to make a large bed, but, the large bed has about a 2 inch height difference. Internet--our router eventually broke and their IT guy was very responsive. I did spend 4.5 hours at the apartment waiting on a fix and eventually a hotspot came along. That said, the replacement router did arrive, but the internet came in/out even after a new router was sent.

  • Our host was very helpful although he asked me to pay the city tax in cash to him at check in, even though I had already paid it through AirBNB. I thought this was a bit sketchy as really AirBNB hosts should never ask for extra cash without having disclosed that up front. When I explained I already paid it he didn't press it but I still thought it was unprofessional. However the room is as it looks and as the description says, it's very comfortable and great location.

  • Location was easy to find and accommodation is clean. Overall a good stay! Thank you for hosting us!

  • We stayed in Alex's studio for 3 nights. Alex was friendly and helpful greeting us with a map and showing us all major tourist places and where to go, etc. The studio is in a really great location in the centre of Amsterdam, walking distance from everywhere but you can take the tram right outside the apartment door either.

    Brian2016-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • The room was clean and cosy and very centrally located. I wasn't expecting to have a fridge, so it was a nice surprise. We were able to come and go as we needed and didn't feel like we were imposing. It was a lovely stay right in the middle of what I assumed would be a very busy time of year. Christmas in Amsterdam is just beautiful.

    Lesley2017-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Good place! A bit cold in the night didn't expect that and the bathroom is very small. But generally the location is AMAZING!! And it's perfect for 1/2 nights stay

    Ines2018-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • The location was great but be warned. The bathroom is very small and the room is not as well lit as the pictures show.

    Megan2017-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • Very good place to visit Amsterdam between the city center and museum place ! Room comfortable, small bathroom, all you need for few days ...

    Fabien2017-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • The host turned up on time to hand over the keys and explain a few things. The location is very central. The noise is not too bad considering it is on one of the main streets with trams. Towels, shampoo and soap were provided.

  • The houseboat was very nice as it looked in the pictures and the hosts were friendly. The only problem was there was no Air Conditioning or fans and it was uncomfortably warm the night that we stayed. Even with all windows open it was hot and the windows had to be closed due to rain storm.

  • Great people great place! :)

    Anita2015-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • Harry and Anna's houseboat was super awesome. The place itself is very modern and cozy and offers an excellent experience for Amsterdam. We visited at the end of November, and while the weather was a little cold and rainy, it was still very convenient to get around with the bicycles they provided and the train station nearby. The houseboat also provided a lot of nice touches to make the say comfortable, including coffee and tea and umbrellas!!! As other reviewers and Harry have mentioned, taxi drivers get a little confused by the address. One taxi driver said that it is best to specify that the address is near the olympic stadium. We had a great visit and look forward to our next trip.

  • I put my friends up here for a night when they came to stay in Amsterdam. It's a well organised setup in a wonderful and quiet part of town.

    Hugo2016-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • We loved Harry and Anna's houseboat! It was very beautiful and such a different experience. So much better than staying at a hotel. It was very close to town, only a 10 minute bike ride. The bikes were an added bonus. Would recommend this place to everyone!

    Sinead2013-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Although the house was a little difficult to find, it was absolutely beautiful and we wish we had stayed there longer! The use of complementary bikes was also very nice.

    Elise2013-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful place to stay- modern, clean, inviting. A bit of a walk from/to public transportation. We used Uber which picked us up from the house in less than 10 minutes. Would highly recommend.

    Jack2015-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the houseboat. My only complaint is that we didn't have longer to stay and enjoy all that it has to offer! Helpful hosts - appreciated all they did for us. Would love to come back again!

This B&B is a private little appartment for one couple, is named 'The KeizerInn' and derives its name from the location on the Nieuwe Keizersgracht in the middle of the center of Amsterdam. A quiet place of 20m2 where you can sleep well and safe, and yet with all interesting buildings and places within walking distance. In less then a 10 minute walk you can visit the Hermitage, the Waterloo square, de "Magere Brug', the Zoo, Royal Theatre Carré and many other interesting places and musea.
Not only the location, but also the boat is exceptional. The KeizerInn is part of a Gronginger Bol, a steel ship from 1904 that has long served as a freighter. Not only the obvious nature of the ship, but also some details that have survived, provide an intimate atmosphere and make your stay in the KeizerInn pleasant and unforgettable. Watch the amazing 360 degrees link below! (Website hidden by Airbnb) Peter and Jeroen are your hosts. Privacy is important to them, so there is a private entrance to the cabin with bedroom below, well isolated. From the wheelhouse you have an excellent view over the canal and the adjacent park. Below you find a double bed, a kitchen unit, a modern bathroom with shower, toilet, sink and underfloor heating, radio, television and wifi. There is a lot of traffic during the day, canal bikes and boats with tourists will pass. We do not serve breakfast so you can make your own out of the supermarket or around the corner at Bagel&Beans. When the weather is nice and you sit on the deck, tourists will wish they were you when you relax on the deck enjoying a drink! The minimum number of nights is 2. For bookings including a Friday or Saturday require a minimum of 3 nights . The single nights between two reservations can also be booked.
  • Peter's boat is an amazing way to experience Amsterdam. Everything went very smoothly and Peter was always available. He also leaves a welcome package with information and other small gifts. Would recommend staying here to anyone!

    Evan2015-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • This is a one of a kind experience!!!! Once we got there we knew we made a huge mistake only staying 2 days. I wish we stayed a week. What can I say-- Peter was amazing and so kind- the boat is perfect for a couple and the bed is soooo comfy!! We sat outside and just people watched and relaxed. I couldn't have thought of a better way to end our honeymoon.

  • Peter was very welcoming excellent host couldn't ask for better!! the boat was beautiful just perfect good enough to get engaged on !! :) :) thank you very much for a perfect stay

  • Keizer Inn is a little slice of Amsterdam heaven. Situated on a quiet and peaceful canal to the east of the southern canal belt. As big walking fans we found it very easy to walk from the station to the Keizer Inn. We also found it a great base for our adventures through the city. The eating and drinking in De Pijp was a huge highlight and is only a short walk away. Peter as a host was very kind and helpful when it came to checking in and out. Even let us pick our bags up later which was extremely helpful. The room itself is great, all the mod cons and great for a couple on a weekend break. The view of the park on the opposite corner was brilliant, I don't think we'll ever forget it. Even in November we sat out on the deck chairs in front of the wheelhouse and shared stories and beers. All in all we would thoroughly recommend the Keizer inn and Amsterdam as a great weekend break. We have been blessed with travelling a bit before and Amsterdam is in our top 4 cities in the world with Keizer Inn being one of the best places we've stayed. Thanks Peter, Harvey & Fran

  • Peter was an excellent host. He provided us with absolutely everything that we needed for our accommodations. He was very friendly and he gave us all the privacy we needed. His house boat was amazing. There was coffee and tea readily available and a grocery store withing a 5-10 minute walk. We were able to buy groceries to make breakfast and enjoy it on the terrace outside. My wife and I had an excellent time and we hope to come back one day. We will also miss Binky the cat.

    Marek2015-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay on the KeizersInn houseboat. Peter and Jeroen are charming hosts and the accommodations are really cozy, well-thought out and immaculately clean. We didn't lack for anything. Also, it's a fast walk to a tram line to the center and all sites. Sunrise in the wheelhouse is beautiful. Uber drivers were only a few minutes away, with trips to the station about 8-9 euros. 5-star recommendation!

  • Peter is a nice host, and the place is very clean and functional. The location is good too, in a nice beautiful neighborhood.

Our 35 m² studio with private entrance, private bathroom and a sunny balcony is ideally situated in the most lively neighbourhood 'De Pijp', near the center, the museum quarter, and the Albert Cuyp market! Comfortable, spacious for two persons and an extra double bed on the mezzanine.
This cosy and light studio is located in the heart of the Pijp, one of Amsterdam’s most vibrant and popular areas. It lies however at the garden side of the building where it is amazingly quiet. It is on the 4th floor (third level) of a nineteenth century building, accessible by typical Amsterdam stairs, which seem to be somewhat steep for ‘non-Amsterdammers’.
Our lovely neighborhood the Pijp is known as a very authentic and bohemian place and well known for its vividness, though at the same time it feels like a little village inside the city. The area is brimming with coffee places, trendy bars, lovely restaurants, little shops and boutiques. The museum quarter with the Rijks museum, the Van Gogh museum, the Stedelijk museum for Modern Art as well as the Royal Concert Hall is in walking distance. There is a direct public transport connection to the RAI conference centre. We live nearby the Sarphatipark and next to the Albert Cuyp market, the most famous day market (except on Sundays) in Amsterdam with every day fresh fish, vegetables and flowers. It will take about five minutes on foot to the historical city centre with the famous 17th century canals of Amsterdam and a 15-20 minutes walk to the very heart of the city center. But as you will notice riding a bike is the most natural way of transport in this city and you can rent a bike just around the corner.
  • Simply put: Anita and her husband Paul are wonderful hosts, but this is just a consequence of they're being wonderful persons. Everything was perfect, from the location to the warm apartment, great for a couple like us. Surroundings have everything you may need during your stay in Amsterdam, from the bistro ideal for breakfast to the exotic cuisine, supermarkets, and a few meters from the house you will find a gorgeous and large market, full of typical Dutch products that you can even taste prior to any purchase! A short walk from the apartment you will find the tram stop, which will take you to the center in 5-10 minutes ... well, nothing is missing! The apartment itself is very comfortable, the bed is so comfy and there is a fantastic balcony, with table and chairs included, to spend some relaxing time... then the great thing is that despite all the "life" in the area, the house is shrouded in silence, cause the balcony (and the entire apartment) is overlooking the inner courtyard of the palace at night, so you do not hear a pin drop, you sleep divinely! What about else? Which, as mentioned in the beginning, Anita and Paul are not just hosts, but people who are open to dialogue, knowledge of different cultures and the constant feeling that they're caring about you. A small example to give a better idea: the day of departure, due to maintenance work on the railway linking Amsterdam to the airport, the trains had been suspended, so you could just catch the bus from the central station of Amsterdam that takes much longer time, thus we were risking to lose the plane. Wel,l Paul took us by car to the nearest station to the airport and from there we arrived safely in time... when I go back to the Dutch capital, I already know where I will search my accommodation!

  • Our visit was perfect. Me and my friends came for a week's stay, and it was amazing. Beautiful apartment with everything from a WiFi connection, dishes, countless books and magazines, beautiful view, to automatic heating for the cold winter days. The apartment is located in a great location; we managed to get anywhere we needed by foot. But the most pleasant part was Paul and Anita. Really amazing and interesting people. We were given a very warm welcome by them, and all through our stay they answered all of our questions and gave us alot of helpful recommendations about what to do in and outside Amsterdam. We also had coffee with them one morning and got to know each other, which was really nice. All in all we had an amazing time, and the apartment and its owners was a huge part of our Amsterdam expirience. Highly recommended.

  • Anita was ready for us, had everything we needed and nothing we didn't. She helped us print our canal passes. Nothing to improve.

  • Anita was a great host! She helped us with everything we needed. The apartment was cosy and really nice. Especially the little details were nice :) The neighborhood is quite quiet but there is life just around the corner. I'd stay here again.

  • This apartment is absolutely gorgeous, it is exactly like in the pictures, cosy and comfortable, we stayed there for a week and we couldn’t ask for a better location. 10 min walk to the Heineken brewery/Museum square, 15 min walk to Vondel Park, bike rental place around the corner and tram stop 2 minutes away. Unfortunately we didn’t get to meet the host but their friends welcomed us like family. We would definitely stay there again! Thank you!!

    Aruj2015-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Anita made us feel extremely welcome. The unit was absolutely perfect and we could not fault it in any way. It is located in a great area with markets in the street next to it! The studio is complete with all the little extras that make your stay so much more comfortable. At times, we didn't want to leave the apartment because it felt like home! Lucky Amsterdam has so much to see and do.. Trams are located within a short walking distance and Anita is available to and ask questions whenever you need to. Wifi works very well also. A fabulous stay! Our top air B and B location so far. Thanks for having us Anita! :)

    Gemma2014-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful stay with two awesome hosts. The flat was perfect for the two of us with everything we needed. Great location, near tram stops, canal rides, the market and the Rijksmuseum; plus much more. Very quiet and warm. Thanks for making our first AirBnB such an awesome time and such a breeze; great help and great directions provided.

The apartment is situated on the third floor in a quiet street. It's in the middle of the popular Pijp area, close to the museum district (E.G. Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh museum). Sarphatipark, the daily Albert Cuyp market and lots of cafés, restaurants and shops are just a few steps away. Ideal for visitors wanting to explore the city, but also a good place for business travelers since the apartment is near RAI congress centre and business district 'Zuidas' with good public transport connections.
A nice private bedroom in a clean, bright and recently renovated apartment. Tea & coffee available in your room.
A few nice things about the neighborhood: Bike rental service around the corner 1 minute walk distance of the Van der Helst Square (with nice cafe's, restaurants, shops)
  • Joris is very friendly and communicative. His place is a gem - clean and aesthetically pleasing. He put a lot of effort into it, as you can tell with his guides to nearby restaurants and things to do in Amsterdam. Wonderful stay!

  • The stay at Joris' place was exactly as expected. Joris is a very friendly, open and helpful host. The room is nice and light, the bed comfortable. The whole apartment is renovated and modern, it is great if you're planning on being out the whole time, and will only be inside for sleeping and bathing :) We recommend staying at Joris' and will probably come back ourselves one day!

  • Located in one of the best areas of Amsterdam and close to everything. With plenty of amazing restaurants just a stone throw away, it’s really easy to get around - definitely hire a bike for your stay! Joris was super helpful with directions to his place before we arrived and helped us with tips when we were there. The room was a great size. Due to being an old building you can hear most things that are happening ie when other guests have an early checkout. The doors are quite loud and creeky. We really enjoyed our time here.

    Sarah Thomas2018-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Was a good room but was very hot, and no fan or air con, and we didn’t have access to the kitchen to prepare or cook anything if we wanted. Other than that, it’s in a good location close to so many great restaurants and metro.
