The Duddon is a large sandy estuary lying between Morecambe Bay and the West Cumbrian coast. It opens into the Irish Sea just north of Barrow. Askam In Furness is situated directly on the estuary and our house is a five minute walk to the beach. With an assortment of specialist shops, cosy pubs, traditional markets and cultured hotspots, renowned for the Sir John Barrow Monument and Stan Laurel, legendary comedian and the town's most famous son. Cumbria is home to the Lake District National Park, an inspiring area of natural beauty that offers an enormous range of relaxing and rejuvenating experiences.
