“Lively local pub with a dance floor upstairs and a sunny beer garden. Always busy on the weekend and in the week, especially if there's a sports game on.”

“Ok if you want to get involved in the local debate of who does it better, go to Messina icream on Hall street than Anita ice cream on Campbell parade. Warning , they are rich in flavour so perhaps not back to back .. enjoy! :-) I say Anita and Mikael says Messina.... ”

“The Neighbourhood is a local pub that serves great food and good beer. The staff are really fun too. We often go on a Tuesday night for trivia and all you can eat wings. They have a hamburger special on a Monday as well which is also delicious - the one burger in Bondi that will rival Bondi Tony's. ”

“China Diner offers a cross-pollination of Indonesian, Vietnamese, Thai and Chinese dishes. They're doing a menu that’s been designed with big groups in mind, which might explain the caveat at the bottom of the snacks section. And that is ‘a minimum order of two per item’. There are Vietnamese sandwiches (the smoked tofu with pickled carrot, cucumber and coriander is the winner here) and sticky, sweet Malaysian-style Marmite chicken wings. Puffy and addictive rice crackers flecked with seaweed go strangely well with a side of Cantonese-style pickled red cabbage.”

Italian Restaurant

“D'orazio Pizza + Porchetta -There’s only one place you need to be right now, and that’s face-first in a focaccia con porchetta. The outrageous sandwich is a hot, fatty, rich and juicy pile of chopped-up roast pork straight from the rotisserie, laid with crisp cos lettuce leaves and grilled eggplant, all smooshed between pieces of pizza bread in a happy delicious mess. And that’s what happens when you put Popolo’s Orazio D’Elia in the kitchen and catch Maurice Terzini at full power.”

“Local Thai BYO in Bondi, if weather permits try and get a table outside for better ambience. Cheap eats and super yummy! ”

“Modern Central American Cuisine, cocktails & brunch in an industrial chic space right on Campbell Parade with a spectacular view of Bondi Beach and the ocean. The tacos, corn fritters, and cauliflower dishes are delicious! Great brunch spot, especially on Sundays. Fun on Saturdays to go with friends for cocktails. Dinner setting has great vibes and perfect for dates. ”

“Local photographer Eugene Tan takes shots of Bondi (and other places) every morning and sends them out in his daily Aquabumps newsletter (and via his various social accounts). This gallery on Curlewis Street showcases the best of those shots as framed images.”
