“This is the farthest you can get to the gulf from land in Citrus County. It's a man made beach with concrete pavilions, and bathrooms. Boat launch area out there as well, but usually very busy. ”

“A locally owned & family operated BBQ restaurant, and it's the place to go when you’re craving the true flavor of slow smoked Competition-Style BBQ. Great place to get dinner or lunch after a day of kayaking in Crystal River. Their "Q for 2" is a sampler dinner for 2 people - excellent value!”

“Crystal River is a coastal city in western Florida. Kings Bay, which is fed by springs, is home to the Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge, sheltering manatees year-round. Boardwalks at Three Sisters Springs Wildlife Refuge offer views of the marine mammal and the natural springs. Northwest is Crystal River Archaeological State Park, with remains of an early Native American settlement, including ceremonial mounds.”

Park
“This park provides a lovely boardwalk around Three Sisters Springs to view the manatees from above. The manatee season at Crystal River NWR begins in mid-November and ends in late March. During the winter months, manatees come to the springs to conserve the energy necessary to survive the cold Gulf waters. Sometimes hundreds will gather there to stay warm. During Spring and Summer, you may or may not see any manatees there. ”
