Crockett Vacation Rentals

Just booked in Crockett

The Art House is a reasonably priced 2-bedroom home with 900 sq. ft. for your private use - No sharing! We are close to Discovery Kingdom & Napa. Owned by artists this house is fun and funky lots of art. We have paints and supplies for you to use. We live in a separate part of the house and are happy to answer questions.
There are 3 separate sleeping areas/rooms as long as someone doesn't mind sleeping in the living room on the futon or ottoman that pulls out into a twin bed. Living Room - Futon & Ottoman that pulls out into twin bed First Bedroom - 1 Queen Bed Second Bedroom - 1 Full Size Bed We host travelers with one small to medium sized well behaved dog. This is an animal friendly home. We clean, vacuum and shampoo the carpet, but if you have sensitivities than this isn't the best place for you. Oh and Ernie our tuxedo kitty will tell you that he's starving and that we don't feed him - he lies as you will see by the size of his belly.
PARKING - We have off street parking reserved for our guests. LOCATION - So here's the scoop - We're not Napa, we're Vallejo and if you're looking for an alternative to paying the high prices of Napa for a 2 bedroom home and don't mind the 15 mile drive or that we don't have the "cute Napa stores" then we are a GREAT place for you to stay! Plus this is a 2-bedroom house so buy more wine in Napa with the $$$ you save! We are located in a nice residential neighborhood. To be very honest there is a busy street close by and noise can spill over if you like to leave the windows open when you sleep. There is a fire department and ambulance dispatch 5 blocks away. Closing the windows when you sleep makes a huge difference. In Vallejo we have Vino Godfathers on Mare Island where you can do wine tastings in a historic Navel Captain's mansion and an excellent brewery called the Tap Room in the Ferry Building that overlooks the bay. I usually go there at least once a week for a Coal Shed Stout and to sample their yummy menu special of the week.
  • Friendly, welcoming host, fascinating artwork and all mod cons. Very comfortable and in a quiet neighbourhood.

  • We went for my daughters 21st birthday. The location was perfect for the commute to wine country. There were a lot of stores and restaurants within a mile radius which made it very convenient. Sherry was very welcoming. We never needed for anything while we were there. If you are interested in visiting wine country The commute is easy and the neighborhood is very quiet.

  • We needed a place to stay in between Napa and San Fran and Sherry's place was a perfect spot. It was very clean and Sherry made sure we had everything we needed. A great quirky little house!

  • Sherry is a great host. This place is perfect for small groups, families, and even couples looking for a retreat. 10/10 would recommend

  • Our host was there to open the front door and welcome us when we arrived. She was very friendly and gave us a tour of her place and made us feel right at home. She had everything we needed and much more available to us that we did not expect like snakes in the kitchen. A great touch for travelers that did not shop yet. We are traveling from Denmark and stopped here to visit family. We will definitely be coming back to visit again and we hope when we do come back that her house is available to us again. Great art, Great house, Great neighborhood, Great host. Thank you so much

  • Sherry was an excellent host!! She was quick to respond to all communications, as well as helpful in finding local places to eat & activities. The Art House was very clean and relaxing. I would highly recommend Sherry & her Art House. ❤️

  • The Art a house is a great place to stay. Close to wine country, we took an uber to our wine tour and back! A 1 hour ferry ride to San Francisco with great views of the bay. Plus the house has everything you need if you want to cook or just hang out under tell redwoods in the backyard. The icing on the cake is Sherry herself; she is available, friendly and a great resource. Can't say enough good things.

    Jennifer2016-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Sherry made us feel very welcome in her home. The house is in a quiet neighborhood convenient to downtown Vallejo

24/7 Self Check-in is always available. This cool, sunny, & comfortable hillside home is a 1924 property in a historical neighborhood on Historic Route 40 close to the bay & Napa River. Vallejo was one of the 1st Capitol Cities of Cali in 1852.
There is a window facing the lake and park across the street and there is a window facing the back deck and the east Vallejo mountains. The room has key-locked solid doors and plenty of privacy. There is 24/7 parking on the street or my driveway. Located on a wide open street. There is a grocery store within 5 minutes walking.
It's a safe historic neighborhood with many beautiful homes. There is also a lake, park, and playground directly across the street.
  • We had a great experience with Super Host Brian, he was very flexible with our schedule, and it was nice that he offered some of his delicious & great buttermilk chocolate chip walnut pancakes. The futon mattress is not just some regular futon mattress, it's a very comfortable one! My husband truly enjoyed the massage chair in our room, it was just what he needed after a long week of work, the room and bathroom was kept clean and neat, just as the rest of the house. We had fun playing with his dog Tyrion, he is friendly, cute, and playful. Brian is very knowledgeable of his surroundings in Vallejo, whenever I had questions Brian always got back to me immediately. Communication is a plus! We will definitely recommend his place to those deserving. Good job Brian!

  • Brian's house is easy to find and the room is super comfortable and clean. We loved meeting his dog and spending time chatting.

  • Brian is really really gorgeous! Absolutely He is a warm and gentle man. Oh and i have to say this. he is a cute tough guy!! ;-) i'm sure that he will be a good husband. The room was very nice. I could use everything. I have luttle insomnia. But it was good in here!! I mean the bed was very comfortable. :) if you looking for comfortable house&host. Here is the best place :-) also vellajo residents are very kind. Yeah here is a little quiet place. But you can think many things. Ego or something Haha. Thank you so much brian. I will miss you!!! ^-^*

  • Great place, nice guy. Clean and comfy. We had head out early and Brian was kind enough to get up with us and prepare breakfast!

    Guillaume2015-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Brian's house. The house is very clean and kitchen had everything we needed. Brian is a very friendly and helpful person, he recommended us some restaurants and places to see. If you want to go to San Francisco from Vallejo try to avoid rush hours. Without traffic the ride takes about 40minutes. Anyway it's a very good place to stay.

    Agnieszka2015-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • The description on his list is 100% accurate.. Very nice room and i would definitely come back again! Very accommodating with my check in time as well.

Enjoy our cozy apartment with private, fenced yard, kitchen, cable TV, pillow top bed & FOLD OUT COT (not a full sized bed) for third person. The space will be tight with three people. Use as base camp to SF, Berkeley, wine country from our central location. Surrounded by wilderness, great hiking and biking. Pets welcome! Lots of free parking right in front of house. Please tell us when you book if you need the cot, we don't store it in the apartment.
The apartment is attached to our home but has a private, fenced entrance. There is a full kitchen, full bath, queen bed, small table for dining and two chairs. We have a hide-away cot with linens and pillows for a third person if necessary. Toaster, coffee maker, tea pot and microwave included. The pantry is stocked with all the makings for coffee and tea, and some extra treats. Pots, pans and dishes are all included. We have a pleasant patio off the apartment that looks out over Wildcat Canyon but our backyard is not landscaped yet.
Our neighborhood feels like you are out in the country but it is a hop, skip and a jump to Berkeley, Orinda, Oakland, San Francisco and the Napa Valley. The back door looks out on Wildcat Canyon, the front on horse-covered hills. Kennedy Grove Regional Park and the San Pablo Reservoir are two blocks up the road. It's a natural oasis in the middle of an urban environment. It's a 10 minute drive to Bart, 15 minutes to Berkeley, 40 minutes to San Francisco and 50 minutes to Napa. Some of the best bike riding country in the Bay Area is right here, and we have room to safely store your bikes on our covered patio right outside your apartment.
  • This was a great place to stay! We were only there for one night but it would certainly be comfy for a longer stay! Christina stayed in touch before we arrived to coordinate our arrival. She greeted us and she showed us around the apartment. Christina does allow small pets and she greeted ours just as warmly as us! We know the area already but she has several ideas posted on activities and restaurants nearby. She even had a few things in the fridge and pantry for us to use which was a nice touch!

  • Nice place for what I needed. I would have liked to be closer to my son but that wasn't their fault! However it was comfortable and easy to find!

  • Great spot • Comfortable • Quiet • Thank you Christina for the snacks ❤️

    Dakotah2016-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Christina was a wonderful host. She was very thoughtful to leave a towel out for my dog and was always readily available if needed. The studio was perfect. It was very clean and stocked with breakfast items like tea, coffee, milk and much more! The bathroom had all the toiletries you would need in the world. Super comfortable bed. Highly recommended!

    Trang2016-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Christina was a fantastic host with great communication throughout our stay. Everything was clean and just as described along with some extra goodies like fruit and breakfast items in the fridge. The space was a perfect fit for our needs and our dog Yogi loved meeting Dexter and having a yard to play in. It was an easy drive to the BART station if you need to get to downtown SF, but it's also got some great parks and nature close by. Overall, we had a great stay at Christina's and would definitely come back again!

    Bailey2016-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • The room was tidy, cozy and welcoming. The added little touches of candies and fresh oranges etc made me smile and feel at home immediately. The neighborhood is quite quaint and the view is magical. Christina is so kind and lovely. We could have stayed there for another month.

    Nathan2016-04-12T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet location and easy to find. Great if you have dogs because of the yard.

    Chris2015-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great cozy apartment with a well stocked kitchen and all the appliances you could need. Christina was awesome, helpful and available. She helped us navigate through the city when our gps was no help! Nice access to the porch and very clean bathroom. We only stayed one night in between camping but would definitely stay here again to explore the city.

Wake up to the most amazing views of the bay, you have your own apartment with an incredible sliding roof to the sun and stars. The apartment is on a large estate with pool and spa you can use. The apartment has underfloor heating and is on-suite.
This is one of the most beautiful unique properties in Berkeley, full sized pool, Jacuzzi, full service kitchen, multiple social areas including breakfast balcony and grand hall with grand piano and open fireplace. You have the beautiful separate apartment on the estate, this amazing apartment features an entire roof that slides open to the stars or sun! The apartment has a full on suite with shower. You have your own fridge and can access the shared kitchen at your leisure. The apartment sits across the courtyard in its own separate building with its own entrance. You have access to the rest of the estate including the kitchen, spa and pool.
Beautiful residential neighborhood, many walks, easy access to Berkley, San Francisco and Oakland.
  • The location is great, but the "room" was just not to our standards for the price. This is a VERY communal setting and really should be listed as a room and not an entire place. Not sure that there is any chemical cleaning in jacuzzi, which would be fine if you weren't sharing with nude housemates and there needs to be something done about the silverfish in room for fear of beinging them home in our luggage. If I was paying half the price we paid, I would no complaints. Also maybe message host about "additional rules" upon check in to make sure it meets your needs still.

    Blake2017-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great place with spectacular views! Stayed at Ben's for a conference at UC Berkeley and had no complainants. It's quick ride or nice walk to campus and downtown and the Venus apartment was perfect - clean and private. I would definitely recommend!

    Corey2017-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I opted for a staycation honeymoon, since we live in one of the most beautiful places in the country. We checked in on September 18th, and if we didn't have jobs to return to, probably never would've left! The villa itself is gorgeous, and the sunset vista is almost unreal. Ben is an outstanding host and an inspiring person. We will definitely be back for another stay.

    Imani2015-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot, very unique and located within walking distance to Solano Ave. The retractable roof was much appreciated given how unusually hot it was in SF and Berkeley the week I was there.

    Cheryl2015-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing. Best airbnb experience yet. Feels like a little slice of Tuscany in the middle of Berkeley. I've lived in Berkeley for 23 years and I never have encountered a dwelling quite like this. Indeed when I first saw this listing on Airbnb I didn't believe the photos were real. They are, and indeed the place and the setting is even more beautiful than the photos convey. "The apartment" is a beautiful, detached space with a movable glass roof!! Truly unique. Ben is a great host. An engaging, interesting guy. He makes you feel welcome and gives you as much privacy as you like, but makes sure your stay is going well. He runs a relaxed, clean, welcoming, beautiful place to stay. I liked the experience so much I decided to rent a different (available) room here for the remainder of the month.

    CESAR2017-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • It was a wonderful experience at the house. It does have an amazing view to the city and bridges. The hot tub is the central location. I came in late on day of check in and was pretty much back late everyday, wish I had more time with the house. The house has a beautiful garden, very dreamy. I've met Anne in the morning while doing laundry. She was super sweet and helped me locate everything. Upon leaving Dawn helped us with our belonging down the steps. I would recommend this place for ppl that prefers quietness at night when they sleep because it is absolutely an amazing place to be.

  • We enjoyed our time at the Blue Bird Snug! Very comfy, great host, great location! Christina gave us tips on events and left us goodies in the fridge. Parking was on the street but felt very safe. Nice neighborhood. So much better than a hotel with separate rooms making it feel spacious. There's a great park nearby for walks and bird watching. And the Richmond Bart is a relatively short drive. You can park for $2 a day and head into the city easily. We highly recommend this place!

    Eileen2015-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Christina, was such a fantastic host! She was so responsive when I initially booked her spot and leading up to our stay. She is so sweet and friendly! She gave us a run down of the place. She also had a print out of grocery stores and places to eat locally which was so helpful! The place was spacious and so clean! It really had everything you need! Tons of closet, drawer, and cabinet space if you need to put away your belongings.

It's true the first picture is a little bigger than the cottage! The second picture is the cottage. With 800 sqft you will feel right at home, not liked a cramped hotel room. It has a full kitchen with reclaimed wood counter tops, the kitchen is fully appointed with utensils, plates, pots, pans, a coffee maker and anything else you may need. The master bedroom has a queen size bed, it is a real bed with 700 thread count sheets. The sitting area has a tv, couch, chairs and table. Both Netflix and cable can be enjoyed in the living room. The second room has a day bed that can be for one or two guests, it becomes a king bed by extending it. The best part is our lovely outdoor space. It is large and private with lounge chairs, outdoor couch and chairs, and tables bbq and heated seating area. We also have a pool which is open in the summer and a new hot tub which is open all year. We have an outdoor cinema we can set up upon requests. Plenty of street parking in the front of the main house and off street parking is available. Please let me know if you have any questions or requests!
This is a gorgeous neighborhood with lots of nice homes, quiet neighborhood. Both food stores and retail shopping are nearby. Also available: Short drive or bike ride to Napa, Downtown Vallejo waterfront and antiques center, short drive to Vacaville Outlets, 3 min to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom Vallejo is the gateway to Napa and Sonoma
  • We had a great stay at Meghan's place! It was conveniently close to Napa and it was great to be able to chill in the hot tub at the end of the day and enjoy the amazing patio at dinner in the evening.

  • We had a great time! Close to everything and very comfortable.

    Mary Beth2017-04-27T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay. Meghan promptly responded to any questions and the place was accurately represented.

    Jim2016-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • This place is fabulous! It really is a great location for Napa. My mom and I did a few days in Sonoma and then came to Meghan's place to tour Napa, and their place made the whole trip that much better. The bed was super comfortable. The kitchen and bathroom so nice! The shower is like its own spa, and then add the hot tub!! The entrance is great because it is paved bricks and a downhill (URL HIDDEN) STAIRS! YAY! which is so nice when you have a heavy suitcase! Meghan was a great host and made us feel very welcome. We didn't get a chance to meet her, but we did meet her husband and their sweet son. I would definitely stay here again!

    Calle2016-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time, at Meghan’s Calming Oasis! The check-in was a breeze, and the host was ver accommodating and responsive to requests. We loved the accommodations, overall, and the amenities were fantastic. Everything was clean, fresh and smelled so good! Would definitely recommend your place to friends/family visiting the area!

    Rachel2017-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Really terrific place, nice, clean, great hosts. great amenities and supplies available in bathroom and kitchen. pool and hot tub were clean and well kept. private entrance and parking.

    Nicholas2017-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about Meghan's place was great. The unit was a separate unit directly below the unit that Meghan and her family lives in. It was clean and spacious, and was set up nicely for our arrival, with some snacks and a guest book. The hot tub was also fantastic and a nice way to relax after a day in Napa. The location was also good, with the drive to downtown Napa being about 30 minutes. One problem we did run into was that fact that the main bedroom of this unit appeared to be directly below the bedroom for a toddler. On the last night of our stay, we were awoken by a screaming toddler and and dog running around directly above the main bedroom. This carried over into early in the next morning, when what sounded like two toddlers and a dog running, stomping, and yelling directly above us. This unfortunately was an upsetting final note to what was otherwise a great stay.

We enjoyed our stay and the area, but would warn anyone who has cat allergies that this may not be the best choice for you.

  • Leslie is a warm and welcoming host, and was extremely accommodating. When we arrived, she gave us a full tour of her home, and even gave me a sweet birthday gift (we were in the area celebrating my bday). When we had trouble with the TV, her son helped us to get it working so that we could enjoy a movie. The view from the living room of the water is impossible to beat- we could see boats and birds, and hear people out on the water from our bed. We're grateful for our stay at Leslie's home.

Beds were comfy, AC and fans kept us comfortable during the hot weekend, and we enjoyed some of the great restaurants, bars, and museums in the area. Thanks, Leslie!

My place is close to Napa Valley Wine Country, Ferry Terminal to San Francisco and Nature Trails at the bordering Benicia State Park. You’ll love my place because it's a quiet elegant get-away on a cul-de-sac in a beautiful safe residential area. You can use the full kitchen or dine out at a local restaurant in Benicia. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers. Great for travel nurses because of it's close proximity to both Kaiser and Sutter Hospitals.
Enjoy your own private cottage. Big comfy king size bed with bamboo hardwood floors! Super large walk in closet. Premium Directv HBO TV. Futon couch that opens to a soft Queen bed for two. Fully stocked kitchen everything you'll need to cook your own meals. Your own private bathroom with full size bathtub great for bubble baths.
Very quiet residential suburban area. My house is on a cul-de-sac and very safe. You can take a nature walk or bike ride and go down to the Benicia State Park.
  • Very cute place! Monica was great and accommodating! She had converted her attached garage into a functional living quarter - an updated full kitchen, full bath and full walk-in closet with a king size bed. We were a family of four, the futon was available but was a bit uncomfortable. The garage does not have any windows except a little one on door but Monica provided a nice big fan and a ceiling fan. It was still hot during the day and ok at night. Location is not ideal for us as it was 30-40 min out depending on traffic to Fishermanswarf area. Overall, Monica is great and place is good for the price!

  • Monica's place was perfect for me and my co-worker. It was clean and comfortable, and Monica was a lovely host. The water in the fridge was extra helpful and considerate. We would definitely stay again!

Great neighborhood with plenty of free street parking.
  • Chrisy and Dave are very warm and friendly. They went out of their way to make us feel at home. We appreciate all the special touches like fresh fruit and Kuerrig in the morning, popcorn and candy in the room, comfortable bed with soft sheets, shampoo and body wash in the shower, & razor and shaving cream in the bathroom.

  • Chrisy and Dave's house is in a secluded and quiet neighborhood, and is easily accessible to Vallejo, San Francisco and Napa Valley. The bed was as comfortable as ours at home, and the bathroom is yours privately, and is right outside the door. There is also a small refrigerator to keep things cold, and coffee was available. This is by by far the best airbnb experience we have ever had! Thank you both.

Crockett is located on the Mexican land grant Rancho El Pinole made to Ygnacio Martinez, and is named after Joseph B. Crockett, a judge on the California Supreme Court. The town started when Thomas Edwards Sr. bought 1,800 acres of land from Judge Crockett in 1866. Edwards built his home in 1867 and when other settlers arrived, he started the first general store in Crockett. Edwards' home still stands and is known as "The Old Homestead", a California Historical Landmark. In 1906 an agricultural cooperative of Hawaiian sugar cane growers built a sugar factory in Crockett, eventually turning it into a company town for the C&H Sugar company. This region experiences warm (but not hot) and dry summers, with no average monthly temperatures above 71.6 °F. According to the Köppen Climate Classification system, Crockett has a warm-summer Mediterranean climate, abbreviated "Csb" on climate maps The Bailey Art Museum features the work of internationally acclaimed sculptor Clayton Bailey, a resident of nearby Port Costa. The 3200 square foot space brings together works from across the artist's five decades plus career featuring examples of Funk art, Nut art, ceramics, and metal sculpture (including robots and space guns), as well as pseudo-scientific curiosities by the artist's alter-ego Dr. Gladstone. The collection also includes watercolor drawings by Betty Bailey and a gift shop. Crockett is bordered to the south and the east by two regional parks operated by the East Bay Regional Park District. Crockett Hills Regional Park lies south of Crockett. The 1,939 acre park ranges in elevation from 150–800 feet, offering views of San Pablo Bay, the Delta, Mount Tamalpais, and Mount Diablo. Trails include a 4.5-mile segment of the Bay Area Ridge Trail. Crockett Hills is an excellent mountain biking park. Carquinez Strait Regional Shoreline comprises 1,415 acres of bluffs and shoreline along Carquinez Scenic Drive between the town of Crockett and the hillsides overlooking Martinez. The topography of Crockett Ranch Regional Park and the adjoining Carquinez Regional Shoreline consists of open, rolling grasslands, wooded ravines, eucalyptus-shaded meadows, and river shoreline. Multi-purpose trails provide access to canyon views and ridgetop vistas.
  • Greg was a fantastic host. Incredibly accommodating and super cool dude. We had a long stay and it felt like home while there. There are beautiful views of carquinez strait from the stoop. Crockett is a cool, interesting, quiet little town. The place was very comfortable. Not fancy and newly remodeled like much of the Bay Area but is decorated with sweet artwork and books and was just perfect for us. We definitely recommend staying here. Not only is greg super cool but the place is super cool and comfortable.

  • Best host ever! Fantastic place!

    Gina2017-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Crockett is a small and relatively unknown place even in the Bay Area -- which is probably part of its charm. Greg's place is perched on a hill above the water and so there's a great view and it gets a nice cool breeze even on warm days. The apartment is cozy, artistically decorated and has everything one might need. Thanks!

  • Edita was an excellent host and goes the extra mile to welcome her guests. We had a late check-in at 11pm due to an evening arrival at SFO. Edith was very accommodating and understanding. She even prepared coffee and breakfasts for the three days we stayed with her. She has a large supply of fruits and a variety of breads and snacks for her guests. She constantly reminded us to grab snacks for our trips and even made lumpia for us. We had a great time staying at Edita's. I highly recommend her place!

    Su Hoon2015-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • Edita was so sweet. I would recommend this bnb if you're in the area! She had a variety of breakfast foods for the morning and made me coffee. I arrived late at night and felt bad because I could tell she had already been asleep before I showed up but she was so nice about it. Thank you, Edita!

  • Edita was amazing! I can't say enough good things about her! She helped us find the house and then made us very comfortable even though our flight was delayed and we got there late. She was so friendly and welcoming. We didn't have to ask for anything, she was so prepared. I can't recommend her enough! We had a great time chatting with her!

Safe. Fun. Creative. Quirky. A great water view and the chance to smell sugar being made if you are lucky! Crockett has a rich history and after 12 years I still find it fascinating. We are host to the only operational sugar refinery left in the United States. Warning: the aroma of processing sugar will make you hungry and looking for cinnamon buns! Crockett was a factory town in its heyday complete with mail order brides, farmland and dance halls. Today it's a vibrant community and a haven for many creative artists and writers who love the small town feel and the respite from the hustle and bustle of the Bay Area.
  • Laura is really an awesome host. She isn't called a superhost for no reason. Her house is one of the nicest place I've seen in the United States thus far. Her house smelled really good with all the lighted candles, and she actually waited up for my friends and I because we arrived pretty late. She prepared food and drinks for us upon our arrival. Basically, everything was all prepared and in place for us. Words cannot describe how much my friends and I enjoyed her hospitality and her place. It's just way way way too awesome!

    Keith2016-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • When I arrived, Laura was out, but made sure she told me where the key was located so I could enter and make myself comfortable. She'd left out brownies and blondies for guest consumption, both of which were delicious! Laura's home is centrally located to many locations in the Bay Area- 30 minutes to Napa Valley, San Francisco, and Vacaville, and less than 10 minutes to the quaint towns of Port Costa and Benicia. Crockett itself has some great restaurants and a hippie charm all its own. Laura is also an expert on all things Bay Area and has a suggestion for just about any attraction or type of restaurant you may want to visit in the area. There are also plenty of places on the property to just it down and read and watch the ships sail under the bridge or sit by a fire pit in back. I also was able to take advantage of her "Buck Cancer" program which she's establishing that lets people like myself who're or have suffered from cancer stay in a room for a mere dollar a night. Added to the value of her place and her expertise on the area, it was an amazing way to spend almost 2 weeks in her area. Laura is presenting a wonderful opportunity for those of us who've had a trying time lately and I can't thank her enough for it. You won't find a better hostess or house in this part of the country. Highly recommended!

  • This was my first Airbnb experience. Laura was very welcoming. It's was very nice and clean room. Her home is beautiful and it was a great place to come "home" to after the many activities that I had planned for the weekend. Looking forward to the next time I need to stay in the area. Sugar Hill will be my first choice!

  • Wonderful communication from Laura from the get-go, as this was my first Airbnb experience, this was very reassuring and appreciated. Her home is gorgeous and welcoming & Laura's gracious hospitality shined through from start to finish. The room is lovely with lots of storage space for clothing. My lower back is especially thankful for a super comfy bed. My trip ended up not going as planned & the little extra's Laura provided (bottled water, toothbrush which I had forgotten & such) made a stressful trip a bit less stressful. I am very thankful for her recommendation on a massage therapist, my massage was desperately needed! I hope to find my way out to this area again in Dec and will not hesitate to rebook. (I almost smuggled KK back with me....she is just so sweet & lovable!)

    Shawna2016-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • Laura was a fantastic host. She has thought of and implented all the little details that make for a perfect Airbnb experience. She made us feel welcome and right at home. Plus the view was fantastic! Next time we come back to the area we would definitely stay with her again.

    Rachael2016-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • Staying with Laura was great! The view of the C&H factory, bridge, and water is awesome. The house was extraordinarily clean and had candles lit throughout when we arrived. There was a goodie basket in the bedroom with tiny bottles of wine, snacks, water, and more. There was another in the bathroom with toothbrushes, razors, etc. Laura was a great host and we look forward to staying with her again in the future!

  • We got to Angela's place with a basket of fruit, wine, and welcome card greeting us. The neighborhood was very quite and the property has a WONDERFUL view of the Bay! The accommodations were very nice and comfortable. The most comfortable bed I have ever rested on. Crockett is a very lovely small town. I only wish we were able to spend a bit more time there but we had a big plans in Napa the whole time we were there.

  • I had such a lovely stay at this Airbnb. The view was incredible the neighborhood is absolutely adorable and the bed was so comfortable I slept better than I sleep in my own bed at home. The kitchen was well appointed and had everything I needed. Angela was a wonderful host checked in to make sure I had everything I needed. • Great stay! My boyfriend and I stayed here for a weekend trip for Napa. About half hour from downtown Napa but just in front of the bridge so unfortunately we had to pay toll every time. The place was great. Lower level of main house but secluded. Cute front area and kitchen -perfect for what we needed! She also left us a snack and plenty of recommendations for food, live music and etc. Great communication. Overall was perfect and would definitely recommend to others. The bed was SUPER comfortable too - just what we needed after a wine filled day

  • The "Prelude to the Wine Country" room was just perfect for my husband and I. It was a very convenient location for visiting family. I'm familiar with Crockett and the area is very safe, peaceful with a beautiful view. I really like having a kitchentte available for convenience and this one included a full size fridge. You can't see it in the pics, but there is a decent size closet to store your travel paraphernalia. This location is situated off to the side of the owners home, but they are not only busy & gone a lot, but it kept it quiet also. There was always convenient parking available to us on a dead end street next to their home. Even though Angela was gone working when we arrived, she left a nice bouquet, fruit, bottle of wine and a nice greeting card(along with directions to retrieve the key). She did come to meet us personally and was very warm and engaging. She was also available by phone or text. By the way, I did share with her we're friendly, but like our privacy. She was very accommodating. It was a very nice stay and would re-book again.

  • My boyfriend and I were very much pleased with our stay. The view you get is so beautiful up in the studio! We definitely enjoyed watching the sunset on the upper deck. Lovely neighborhood, very safe, quiet, lots of cute restaurants and antique stores within walking distance. Joseph and Terry were extremely sweet and kind to us. Made our weekend trip worthwhile.

    Cindy2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • The view was amazing! The breakfast amenities were great! Loved the location and our stay was excellent! Thank you for being great hosts!

    Steven2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • This place is excellent for staying a bit outside of the city. It is a separate private room away from the main house, and has a great view. Terry was very nice and greeted us warmly.

    Jonathan2017-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • The view is truly spectacular and great to wake up to. The studio is well-equipped, comfortable, and we thought the decor of the record collection on the wall was very cool! Terry and Joe were super kind, informative, and accommodating leading up to and during our trip. Due to a record-breaking heatwave in the Bay Area, we couldn't stay the entire time because the AC units were no match for 110 degrees on a Benicia mountain, BIG bummer! But I would definitely stay here again, with normal Bay Area temps :)

    Patti2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Over the top view of the bay! It was like staying in our own little nest. Directions were easy to follow making for a smooth check in. A light breakfast of coffee, orange juice and yogurt was provided. We would book here again without hesitation.

nice private room for rent in the Glen Cove hills overlooking the whole city in a brand new remodeled 5 bedroom house. You would have your own bathroom shared by only 1 person and your own room (TV, Full Bed wifi, cable and full access to house
This home is treated with TLC when you are here you should feel like its your own. Mi CASA su CASA. Very relaxing and quiet with just the right touches to make you feel comfortable. I'm very helpful and if there is anything you need before or after your stay I'm always available and would treat you like a person/friend and not just a guest. My moto is you always learn things by meeting new people and Air BNB is the perfect place for that.
History of Glen Cove Marina In the mid 1800s, ship traffic from San Francisco to the California Delta increased dramatically due to the discovery of Gold at Sutter’s Mill and the construction of the Navy’s first base on the West Coast on Mare Island. The first lighthouse to mark the entrance to Carquinez Strait was built in 1873. Not long after constructing the Mare Island Lighthouse, the Lighthouse Board realized that a beacon positioned offshore near the junction of Carquinez Strait and the Napa River would better serve navigation in the area. In 1907, Congress appropriated $50,000 for a small light and fog signal at Carquinez Strait. Starting in 1908, hundreds of wooden piles were driven into the strait’s muddy bottom to create a long pier extending out into the water over a mile from Carquinez Heights. At the very end of the pier, a dock and causeway led to a platform which supported the lighthouse. Completed in 1909, the spacious 28-room, 3 story dwelling had a veranda which wrapped around the northern side. It housed 3 keepers and their families. The red light from a fixed, fourth order Fresnel lens first shone in 1910, and the nearby Mare Island Lighthouse was discontinued 7 years later. The Carquinez Strait Lighthouse served until 1951 when it was replaced by a smaller automated beacon and fog signal. Four years later the lighthouse was offered for sale. The building was purchased in 1955 and moved to it’s current location in Elliot Cove, next to Glen Cove, where the docks you see today were built around it. Intended to be named, Lighthouse Harbor, the marina eventually became Glen Cove Marina. Sadly, the tower and lantern were destroyed during the move, but most of the building remains intact. The marina office and cafe are located on the veranda, which has been enclosed with giant windows, so visitors can still admire the views of the marina and Carquinez Strait. Carquinez Strait Lighthouse was one of a chain of thirteen stations that started at the entrance to San Francisco Bay (Point Bonita) and ended at Roe Island in Suisun Bay.Of the seventeen original lighthouse buildings, only three others remain in existence: the St. Francis Yacht Club on Tinsley Island, the East Brothers lighthouse in San Pablo Bay (now a bed and breakfast establishment), and the Oakland Harbor Light (now Quinn’s Lighthouse, a restaurant and bar). Glen Cove Marina’s “white Victorian house” was originally built as a twenty-eight room residency as part of the Carquinez Strait Lighthouse and Life Saving Station, which was located at the entrance to the deep water channel leading to Mare Island and the Napa River. First occupied on January 15, 1910, the lighthouse was one of a chain of seventeen stations that started at the entrance to San Francisco Bay (Point Bonita) and ended at Roe Island in Suisun Bay. In 1955, the U.S. Coast Guard automated the light and fog horn mechanisms, and the main building of the Carquinez Strait Lighthouse was sold to a private party who, in 1957, moved the building by barge up the Strait to its present position at Elliot Cove, overlooking the scenic marina. Of the seventeen original lighthouse buildings, only two others remain in existence: the St. Francis Yacht Club on Tinsley Island, and the East Brothers lighthouse in San Pablo Bay (now a bed and breakfast establishment).

  • FIRST TIME using airbnb for myself and I am not gonna lie I was very impressed with this booking. Matt was extremely nice and respectful and his home is beautiful as well as friendly. His dogs were so lovable and nice. The room was nice and the view down the road is amazing. Home is super close to a grocery store as well as many other dining places. Definitely a recommendation to anyone in the area.

  • Everything was dirty ! Owner didn't throw away the trash from bathroom , water is not running , toilet was all in sucks and pew ! Room was dusty and never cleaned !! Blanket and pillows was dirty ! I couldn't sleep there because of dust ! And in the house it's like a sauna , conditioner doesnt work , it was very stuffy ! The price is too big for that ! I don't recommend you to stay there . I couldn't take a shower I couldn't sleep ! Waste of money and no relaxing after long driving

Beautiful home on the water in a very safe neighborhood. Less than 30 miles to Napa's famous wine country and 36 miles to San Francisco. Travel to SF by Ferry or BART. Flat screen TV and Music in room. Breakfast
This is a beautiful custom home built in 2010. The bedroom has everything brand new bought just for the airbnb. Flat screen TV and wired in Music system in room.
Benicia is a very safe and charming town with a lot of history. This was the last stop of the Pony Express during the Gold Rush. Downtown has antique shops, glass blowers, and restaurants. (Check out First Street) Close to both SF and Napa Valley. Our house is on the water. Kayaks are here to use. Biking or walking around this quaint town is also nice.
  • Lovely experience in this family home. Beautiful plantings, gorgeous view of the water and bridge out the back where I spent an afternoon reading. Healthy yogurt and fresh fruit breakfast presented on a lovely tray with a cloche over English muffins. Chocolate on the pillows. Offer of kayaks to see an Eagle's nest across the water. We took up the offer of bikes to ride along the trail. We felt welcome yet free to do our own thing. We really had such a nice time. Owner was super with communication and made everything very easy for us.

  • Beautiful beach home, the view was just fantastic, especially at night. Teresa was a great host with much privacy but great hospitality. Everything was easy and I would highly reccomend staying here.

    Brittany2015-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • This was the nicest property I've stayed at in Benicia. The family home feel was very nice! Banana, Coffee, bagels & cream cheese were provided in the mornings, and some tiki torches were lit for us while we sat in jacuzzi and watched the sunset. Definitely recommend this over all other homes in benicia! I wanted to take some time to get out on a kayak but had lots of work and it was plenty windy so not the best conditions.

    Seth2016-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a short stay in Benicia but Teresa made everything very easy and pleasant. We'll be sure to stay with Teresa if we visit Benicia again.

    Rodney2016-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • Teresa prepared the room on very short notice and showed me around before I ran out for a dinner engagement. Room was a nice, with TV. Bed a little hard but ok. Very nice bathroom and shower just down the hall. Beautiful park, by the sea, directly behind the house.

    Brian2015-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Teresa's house! Her home is extraordinary beautiful and is located right by the waterfront. We enjoyed the wonderful sunset on Teresa's porch - later on we were invited to spend the evening in the dinning/living room to use the wifi to plan the rest of our trip (wifi did not work in our room). Teresa and her husband were very kind and gave us many interesting informations about the area - Teresa even printed a map for us. Our room was located right next to the main entrance of the house therefore we heard everybody leave in the early morning. The bathroom we were to use was next to the kitchen/living room which reduced our privacy a little bit. In the morning Teresa had prepared a little breakfast for us which we enjoyed on the wonderful porch and before we left we jumped in the amazing hottube :-) We would definetely recommend staying at Teresa's house!

  • This place amazing. I would stay again in a heartbeat! The backyard view is priceless. Room is clean, beautiful home and a short drive to downtown. Highly recommend.

    Jamie2016-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • This place was wonderful! The view was beautiful. The view from the back was amazing and the hot tub was phenomenal. The beach was a very short walk. The food options were abundant! I would recommend Sailor Jacks. It is a short driving distance to the Martinez Bart station and concord drive in theater. The only complaint my boyfriend and I had was the cat literbox odor throughout the house. The room, once we sprayed it and kept the door closed, was not detectable. Overall, the room and house was very clean. I would stay here again or recommend this place.

The pictures were already enticing but once you get there it's absolutely incredible! The hosts were so very friendly and we enjoyed talking with them. • Patrick and Sahm were great hosts and fun to talk to. Their home was lovely, and the bedrooms had a great view. It was very peaceful and serene. I especially loved their furniture choice. Patrick and Sahm were also very accommodating. We had to check out a bit later than the actual checkout time, but it wasn't a problem at all.

The rooms are nicely decorated, we had plenty of space and everything was clean. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need, there's also lots of brochures and maps for all the things to see in the area. The view from the backyard is amazing! My place is close to family-friendly activities, public transport, and the airport. You’ll love my place because of the neighborhood, the outdoors space, and the location. My place is good for couples, business travelers, families (with kids), and big groups.
Our 2300 sq ft home is near the wine country, Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, The Jelly Belly Factory & a ferry ride to San Francisco.
The house is on a hill in a quiet neighborhood. Neighbors are friendly, but keep to themselves.
  • This is a beautiful well kept home in the hills above Benicia and near the town of Vallejo. Its in a typical modern suburb with the usual conveniences a 3 minutes away. Its a 10 minute drive to high end grocery store in Benicia and if you head towards Vallejo on Columbus Pkwy you'll find big box stores and an assortment of chain restaurants such as Black Angus, Chevy's, Olive Garden , and pizza shops. Angela and sister Denise stayed in constant contact from booking to departing. Easy 6-7 people counting a kid or two using the 1/2 bath day room with its own TV which is separate from the Din and informal dinner table and kitchen. The formal front room and Dinning Room are beautifully decorated.

  • Our stay in Vallejo was absolutely perfect. We were just a few miles from six flags. Our family stayed here to celebrate my twins graduating from high school and getting their associates degree at the same time. We took the ferry from Vallejo to San Francisco's pier 39, went to an Oakland A's game, went to Six Flags, Raging Waters water park in San Jose and a day in Santa Cruz over 8 days. Angela's house was our home base and it could not have been any better. We came home every night exhausted from all of our fun and woke up the next day rested and ready to go to another adventure.

    Shawn2017-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome AirBnB! Lovely hosts. Would definitely stay again.

    David2017-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • If you're looking for a home in the North Bay that is an easy drive to most anywhere, Angela's house was perfect. It had plenty of room for our entire family with three large bedrooms. Despite being close to the I-780 freeway the neighborhood is exceptionally quiet on a residential cul-de-sac. Angela and her sister Denise did a great job of getting us ready for our trip and doing a walk-through of their home and let us know everything we needed to know about the house. The Wi-Fi and cable TV worked excellent, and the kitchen was ready for anything. During our stay the air conditioning failed, but Angela was great with communicating with us and arranging to have it repaired. (Hey, sometimes things break.) If you're a family that is checking out Six Flags Discovery Kingdom or WaterWorld Concord, this is a great place to call home for a few days. Or if you want to visit San Francisco but don't want to pay San Francisco prices - Vallejo is just a 50 minute ferry ride away (and who doesn't like time out on the open water?) or drive into Concord or Richmond and catch BART. Just remember that both of the bridges south of the house on I-80 and I-680 are toll bridges.

The Queen bed has a plush, pillow-top Sealy posturepedic mattress that is very comfortable. The room has a separate/connecting/private bath with shower and toilet, walk-in closet and his and hers sinks. Port Costa is the next town along the bay, reached by the scenic country road in just a few minutes. This hidden secret has a top class restaurant and fun bar. Hiking from Crockett to Port Costa is possible through the regional park, with all the local wildlife. Within 10-15 minutes north or south along I-80, you will find all the usual suspects - McDonald's, Starbucks, etc.
  • Vicki wa great! Nice, friendly and made us feel at home. Great private room . Very nice stay.

  • My mom and I stayed at Vickie's place for two nights. The house is in very nice community. The house is very elegantly decorated. Our room has private bathroom, they are big, extremely clean and also beautifully decorated. I am a kind of person who is quite picky about the cleanness, I would say Vickie did a wonderful job keeping the house clean and comfortable. She prepared enough coffee and tea for us. Vickie herself is very friendly and super caring person, she is very considerate and helpful. She offered so many useful tips, maps and information about sightseeing in SF. She treated us with British grace and beauty, and I really enjoyed talking with her. The room has awesome view, and we saw two deer during our morning coffee time. Maybe you will see them or a cute fox. In a word, this is the best experience I have ever had on airbnb, you just have to stay here during ur visit in SF.

  • I love her place!!! Very neat, clean, and organized. We had the pleasure to meet her, she's an amazing person. My husband and I came from LA for the weekend to celebrate his birthday. It was a convenient location to Napa. My only regret, I wish I had stayed longer.

    RAQUEL2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely place with wide views, including the beautiful Carquinas bridge. Deer can be spotted in her backyard! Vicki is the consummate hostess - everything was spotless and beautiful, very comfortable with every amenity you could think of. You can tell she puts a lot of thought and effort into making her guests comfortable. The house setup allows for privacy, too, which is wonderful. Oh, there's even a personal espresso maker in the bedroom suite!

    Adrienne2017-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Guests should know Vicki is a cold, heartless person who lacks any empathy. I selected her because I thought she seemed most like me, in age and travel history and things I felt I could discern from her page. I was looking forward to making a new travel contact and friend. She was not as she seemed. She lived like a slob with her mail and bills strewn all over the entire sofa and coffee table, dirty dishes in both sinks most days we were there, and odors from the kitchen much of the time we were there. Our room did not stink, but with the constant bugs and oppressive heat, it was unpleasant and uncomfortable. The toiletries she offered seemed expired and smelled rancid, so I purchased my own the second day. The bathroom was so cramped it was almost impossible to close the door. I was crushed when I talked with her and was in tears the second day of our stay, wiped out from the oppressive heat and not being able to sleep, asking her to work with me and either buy a $200 portable AC unit or let me out of our contract for the several first days of our stay when the National Weather Service had issued a Dangerous Heat Advisory. Temperatures were in the 90s, with heat indices over 100 and my car temp reading 105 the second day. I offered to return once the danger had passed and that it was of no value to me to be in a room that was so hot that I could not sleep and that the windows had to be open to get a cooling breeze in the early morning hours but just as we were getting comfortable it was time to get up to leave. Being on the third story, the heat had risen to unbearable levels and there was no ceiling fan. The box fan she provided was loud, blew my hair all over my face, and only blew hot air around. It would have been a huge investment in our comfort and the comfort of any future guests if she had simply provided a portable air conditioning unit. It was unsafe to leave the entire sliding balcony door open, plus it let in many tiny leafhopper bugs that were climbing in my ears, hair, and nose, which kept me even more uncomfortable and made it hard to get rest even just lying there in the heat. Additionally, we had large spiders in our bedroom almost every other day, which was rather disturbing. When I told her it was unsafe for me to not be able to sleep and have to drive all around to take my child to his camp and do the things I'd planned each day, she told me she did not care because "the heat didn't bother" her. She had zero concern about my safety or comfort, or that of my son who even had his birthday that week. When...

  • My stay at Vicki's was just wonderful! My son and I were leaving the Bay Area after some years there and we chose to use air bnb during the transition as we put things in storage and tied up loose ends. Vicki's beautiful house was a sanctuary in the beautiful hills of Crockett. Although we had been to Port Costa and the delicious restaurant The Dead Fish several times, I never really considered there was such a charming and serene place to live between the two. Just fabulous! Vicki was very accommodating and a very gracious superhost. Her home is exceptionally clean--we had just come from a hotel (yuck) and also a previous host cancelled last minute so comfort and de-stressing was of utmost importance. My son doesn't like walking on dirty floors and as this house is a no shoes house we were free! Her home really sets the bar for cleanliness and simple elegance for me. The whole suite was beautiful and although it was raining the whole time the view from our little balcony produced a fantastic cozy experience with deer visiting and looking at us while they grazed as well as cute little squirrels coming to do their work and then scurry into the beautiful eucalyptus. As we were in the midst of relocating to the southern part of the state, we didn't get to explore much or pop into our favorite local places *BUT* we would definitely love to come back and stay at Vicki's when visiting the Bay Area. Basically a safe place to sleep. Not really set up to hang out here. Much lighting and when its hot, A/C is on and vise versa.
Terrific location; five minutes from the Benicia waterfront! One exit west or east, there's a Starbucks, there's a major grocery store and a breakfast place.
Its an HOA, all ages but no loud car music nor smoking inside or out.
  • Great value. Clean. Accommodating host!

  • It's a beautiful house on the beach, clean and tidy, and the Roy family is very careful and worth living.

  • Roy and his wife Audrey were very welcoming hosts. They took the time to show us all that their house had to offer and were available if we needed anything. Their house was beautiful with a spectacular view. Everything was clean which made my family comfortable and feel at home. My 7 family members and I stayed at the home and it was enough room for everyone. Also there is a ferry close by for a nice ride to San Francisco. I would definitely recommend this home to any friends and family. Thank you Roy and Audrey.

  • This home is incredibly beautiful and well laid out. The view of the bay is breathtaking, provides delicious breezes and made our stay beyond enjoyable. Audrey and Roy were AMAZING hosts. They knew I was traveling with children and they went out of their way to provide snacks and drinks that my kids would enjoy. It was like we were visiting dear friends who wanted to provide every special thoughtful touch. They had a first aid kit, laundry detergent, bubble bath, soap, a case of bottled water, welcome beverages, i could go on and on. They came by to water the beautiful outdoor flowers and they had lovely outdoor lights on the deck rails that turned on at night. There were many pairs of donoculars my children loved using and there was a monopoly game we all enjoyed. We hosted 2 lunches for in town family while there and the home was GREAT for entertaining! One lunch we had on the deck under the umbrella, the other in the dining room. We were able to fit our whole group with the card table they provided in the main level bedroom closet - it was perfect! And a special bonus? As a family of avid swimmers, we were so pleased to discover a university pool 2 mins away that welcomed us with no charge to do lap swimming in their beautiful 50 meter pool. We were really happy about that. The neighbors were so friendly and we absolutely felt right at home. One day we took the ferry into thecity proper of san francisco and had a great time at Pier 39. The ferry was only a few minutes away. What else can I say? This beautiful home and these wonderful hosts really made our trip!

  • My stay was wonderful! The house was beautiful. Roy and Audrey were extremely attentive. I would definitely come back for another stay.

  • This home came to being a life saver. Mostly because last minute plan. We had a wedding in Napa, which made things hard to enjoy the house to it's fullest. But we got one full day there to enjoy the wonderful view it had to offer. The lay out of the house was nice, a lot of great spaces to just sit and talk. It was great for us because we had cousin in town from Canada. Just enjoying the backyard with the view over looking the water. I wish we had more time there we would have barbecued. It was really bad planning on our part. But if you plan to relax and enjoy family or friends to hangout and talk this place is great place to do it. Hope we can do it again!

  • This location provides easy access to both the city of San Francisco and the scenic wine country of the Napa Valley. It's located just off the major highways into the city as well as the less major roads along the coast. All of this with a really lovely home, magnificent views of the harbor, and comfortable dining either outdoors on the deck or indoors in the dining room or kitchen nook.

    Thomas2017-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • The house was large, had a great view and was convenient to the highway. . Roy was very easy to communicate with. Even though the house rules prohibit cooking dinner the kitchen could have been a little better stocked for making breakfast. Roy did leave us some breakfast food for our first morning which was a nice treat. There were also 3-4 air fresheners per room which gave the house an overly perfumed smell.

Join me in my one level fully modernized three bedroom home in Benicia. It is nestled into the hills overlooking the Carquinez Straits in a very quiet safe neighborhood yet convenient for the local shops and supermarket and freeway on ramps.
Your bedroom has the best view in the house.! It is a large spacious room with a comfy queen size bed. There is also a single bed in the computer room. A sliding door leads out into the garden .Just down the hallway is your own bathroom , which has recently updated. You can rent the whole house which has 3 bedrooms and accommodates 5 people. Please ask me about renting the whole house or look up "View across the Straits" for pricing and availability You have access to the whole house. You can watch TV or lounge in the sunroom,or sip wine on the overhanging deck. I will be available if needed and can help with any inquiries you might have about restaurants shops etc in the area. I also am widely travelled having come here from the UK originally. It is a very pleasant neighborhood nestled into the hills yet very convenient for the shops, restaurants, hiking and biking trails and access to freeways. The freeways can take you to all the the other interesting sites around the Bay Area. There is a bus that can take you to the BART station, but having a car would be very useful to get to the ferry to San Francisco, or take a trip up to Napa or a trip to the ocean or a 2 1/2 hour journey to lake Tahoe Where ever you are going Benicia is a MUST stop on the way there, and once here you may not want to go any further.
My neighborhood is away from the hustle and bustle on a nice quiet street yet a 2 minute walk to the Southampton Shopping Center . Take your car to First Street Benicia,(5 minutes away) and stroll through the antiques shops, stopping at the many bars and restaurants.
  • Helen's was an extremely comfortable home and it had been updated with beautiful modern appointments. The whole house had windows across the back which spill out to a beautiful patio filled with every kind of flower you can imagine. Sitting on the patio you have a commanding view down the hillside overlooking the whole waterway. From the patio we saw hummingbirds, butterflies, and more. Helen is an immensely gracious host. She made us comfortable at all times and provided open access to all parts of the house and kitchen. We had our own key and could come and go as needed. It was truly an enjoyable 2 days and next time I'm back you can bet I will be staying at Helen's.

  • Had a lovely time at this pet friendly home in Benicia. House had a nice view of the bay and was close to groceries, restaurants and a pet store. Very nice neighbourhood. Helen was helpful with any questions and her dog Charlie was very cute! We'll definitely be back.

  • Helen is an absolutely wonderful host! Her house is beautiful and the view of her garden and the water is stunning. She made both my husband and I and our dog feel very welcome and comfortable. We especially appreciated the use of her kitchen (delicious coffee!) and the way she looked after our dog when we were out and about for the day. It was very nice knowing that our dog was happy and had a little dog friend to hang out with. The bathroom was very clean and comfortable as was our room and bed. This was a great place to stay while visiting wine country.

    Anne2015-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second stay with Helen and her welcome made us feel like we were returning to a friend's home. We both caught up on the events or our last three weeks and in the morning my husband and I spent the hours sitting on the patio enjoying the amazing view. After a long journey it was a perfect place to chill before turning back to "normal" life. If you look at the pictures on this page and wonder if it really is a beautiful as it seems rest assured that you will be delighted.

  • Definitely had an excellent view and a comfortable bed! Plenty of nice places to eat nearby!

    Kyle2017-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is my favorite Airbnb stay so far! Helen and her dog, Charlie, are both so sweet and welcoming! The house was clean and the view is amazing. We loved Benicia (fun places to eat and shop) and if we ever get the chance, will be back! :)

    Remick2016-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Helen's place is a must! It was a true blessing for us and Benicia is just a hidden gem which you shouldn't miss for the world! Unfortunately Helen was away while we were visiting but she left clear instructions and the communication was great. Place is clean and spacious with the most amazing view ever. If you are looking for more relaxed stay you should definitely consider Helen's place. I would definitely come back.

My place is close to restaurants, dining and shopping.. You’ll love my place because of the great location in a very quiet neighborhood. Ample parking with no restrictions. Walking distance to Benicia State Park, great for biking, kayaking or just leisure walking. Master bedroom with full private bathroom. Flat screen mounted TV and WiFi, the outdoors space.. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.
  • Doug was a gracious host, clear in communication and flexible with my schedule. He gave great advice on traffic, restaurants and nearby parks. The room was clean and comfortable and I was able to come and go as I pleased.

  • Our stay was great. We never actually got to meet Doug because our timings were weird lol we got in when he was out so he left us a key to get in and instructions. So laid back and loved the place. It was quiet and comfortable. We loved having our own bathroom. We brought two dogs and it was no fuss at all. Would definitely stay again!

    Morgan2017-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Doug's place is extremely safe, quiet, and beautiful - a rare find and one of the nicest Airbnbs we have ever stayed in! Plus Doug is so helpful and was nice enough to give us apartment hunting recommendations. Would stay again and suggest to anyone!!

    Verenice2017-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • Doug was a great host. His home is lovely, very welcoming. We met his 2 little dogs which are adorable, even though one just wants to bark at you to show she's boss! The room was great, with its own private bath, which is great. It is an air bed, which I usually have trouble sleeping on, but this one seemed a little more stable and comfortable. I traveled with my boyfriend and our dog Junior, and we all enjoyed the 2 nights we stayed.

  • Great price in a great location! Easy to get to San Francisco, Bodega Bay, Napa, even Sacramento. Downtown Benicia is really nice as well. Doug is an excellent host with awesome recommendations of the surrounding area. Highly recommend!!

  • I have officially found my "Home away from Home"! I love this place, first of all because of Phyllis, a very warm and welcoming hostess, I felt immediately at home. Secondly, the home is cute, cozy and comfy, and in a great neighborhood just a few blocks from a very vibrant "Mainstreet" downtown area! I slept like a baby in the extremely comfortable bed and loved sharing the kitchen, bathroom and occasionally, the sitting room, where we had coffee and fruit in the morning and a glass of wine in the evening. Thank you, Phyllis, for all of the above plus wonderful conversations and snuggles with a dog or two....I will be back soon!!

  • Since this was my first Airbnb experience, I wasn`t sure what to expect. What I found here in Benicia was an exceptional value, and a unique travel experience. The bed was comfortable, the neighborhood quiet, and the artistic décor was charming. The grounds have several garden areas to sit, and even a medication garden. Phyllis was very helpful. I`d mentioned that I wanted to photograph the nearby Ghost Fleet. Because it`s a little tricky to get to, she volunteered to take me, and we toured Benicia, ending up at the Fleet. Back at the room, there was water and snacks. The rescue animals on site were quiet and well behaved. All in all a great visit, and I had a really wonderful weekend.

  • My stay with Phyllis was exactly what I was looking (URL HIDDEN) was like staying withban old friend who welcomed me in to her cozy home...Phyllis is an excellent host and takes the time to make your stay very pleasant! I loved the fresh squeezed oj in the morning and fresh brewed coffee and bagel was a perfect start to my morning...Phyllis's home was nicely decorated and the bed was very comfortable... I truly felt like I was in a home away from home! Thanks again Phyllis! I will definitely be back!

  • This was my first foray into Airbnb, and what a lovely introduction. Phyllis was the perfect host. I tend to be an anxious traveler and Phyllis made me feel at home. Her accommodations were perfectly suited to my needs. From the lovely morning routine of (wonderfully strong) coffee and light breakfast fare, to the beautiful, well-appointed room, I am already thinking about returning again.

    Lucy2017-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great location within walking distance of First Street with its restaurants, businesses and attractions as well as Benicia State Park with access to hiking, kayaking, biking and other outdoor activities. Proximity to freeways, bridges and ferries makes this a great location for anyone staying in the Benicia area. Phyllis was a welcoming host who can accommodate a variety of sleeping arrangements including queen and individual bed options. During our stay, Phyllis went out of her way to provide special touches like freshly squeezed orange juice, coffee, musical instruments along with a variety of delicious snacks and nibbles. We felt right at home throughout our stay, outstanding experience all around.

    Darrin2016-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • This place has such amazing potential, but needs a little more The photos didn't match the listing. I love pets, but there are too many on property for an Airbnb. Guests need to feel like they can stay in/or go out as they please without causing a stir which was hard because the pups barked every time you entered/exited the home. Also, there are tenants below, so any movement upstairs can be heard below. At this time, I don't think this space is worth the asking price.

    Brittany2017-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • I had another great stay at Phyllis's house!

    Kristian2016-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • This is a sweet home for any kinds of traveler who wishes to stay close to Bay Area while still living with peace and quietness. The design of the house is delicate. Phyllis is a great person who takes care of every detail of the house. She is always ready to give assistance to you and make you feel like home. You can feel a lot of fun living in her house.
