Crescent City Vacation Rentals

Just booked in Crescent City

A small, rustic, handbuilt cabin deep in the Northern California national forest. Part of a remote, off-grid "village," including a few other cabins, chickens, dogs, frogs, cats, permaculture gardens and all kinds of cool, sustainable projects. Search
If you are looking for a unique experience in a beautiful natural area and would like to experience life in an off-grid, sustainable, permaculture-focused ecovillage and all that a wilderness area has to offer -- rough roads, dirt, mud, insects, messes, barking dogs, mosquitos, bees, mice, early morning roosters, communal living, composting toilets, ongoing construction projects - then we invite you join us in our mountain village! Our property encompasses 160 acres of pristine natural wilderness in Northern California's beautiful Smith River canyon - home of the only un-dammed river in the state. Lush fern-encrusted hillsides slope down to countless spring-fed streams, teeming with wildlife, from cute caterpillars to (also cute, sometimes!) black bears. Accessible only by forestry road from scenic Redwoon Hwy (CA-199,) this is an opportunity to experience our responsible natural relationship with Mother Earth. This location is very beautiful and quite remote, so please be sure you've read through the full description and are prepared for certain elements of "roughing it" and adventure travel. The Village is also a work-in-progress so we are likely to be working and there may be construction, dirt, and messes around! Amenities: •Lighting / Electricity: Your cabin does not have electricity; we try to keep a flashlight, lantern, and/or candle available for your use -- but we recommend that you bring your own lights. •Kitchen: The outdoor kitchen, near your cabin, has a small propane camping stove, and plenty of pots, pans, and utensils for your use. We do not have refrigeration but we do have a freezer (with ice packs) and coolers for storing food. •Bathrooms: We use composting toilets (buckets with seats); there is an indoor toilet in the bathhouse. Hot shower in the sauna/bathhouse. It is about 200 yds on average away from most of our cabins •(Lack of) Phone / Internet: Some Verizon and US Cellular service is available, but AT&T and T-Mobile do not service our area. We do not have wifi. The Great Outdoors: •Domestic animals: Between the three dogs who run around at night chasing forest creatures, springtime frog concerts, and the early-rising chickens, it is likely that there will be some animal noises occurring at unpredictable moments during the night and day. •Wild animals: There are various of these that live in the forest, including skunks, chipmunks, foxes, black bears, and many birds and insects. Since we have dogs and people around, the wild animals tend to keep their distance from the areas that we use. If you are lucky, you might spot a black bear on a hike; they are basically like big raccoons and prefer to run away from humans. If you are looking for a unique experience and up for rustic accommodations with a few off-grid perks, we welcome you to join us in our mountain paradise!
Our 160-acre property is surrounded by about a million acres of National Forest. Our neighborhood is all made of trees, huckleberry bushes and animals. We love it here. It is very remote, peaceful, and functionally sustainable in its focus. The closest neighbor is a Buddhist Hermitage about a mile up the forestry road. Also, supposedly, Sasquatch live here! (it is the epicenter for documented sightings) Most visitors to the area are interested in spending time in the redwoods – we are about 30-45 minutes from the nearest entrance to Jedediah Smith Park, home of Stout Grove and other beautiful redwood hikes. Driving into Crescent City, about 45-60 minutes, winds you right through the "gentle giants" on your way to or from Redwood National Park.
  • Wouldn't recommend driving up at night in rainy weather, so muddy! Everything i expected and more. Got in around 9pm, no one was around. I utilized all of the kitchen space, everything I didn't have was there. I especially liked all the herbs and seasonings they had inside. Enjoyed the sauna with my friend and Rob. Rob was easy to get along with and we enjoyed his company. Only got to meet Dan because he just opened the door when we were making guacamole and watching a movie, sort of awkward. The animals were all nice and loved being pet. Location is beautiful!!! Checked out Nick's trail for a short amount of time. Plan on staying in different cabins next time we visit.

  • Staying here was amazing! Dan and all the other residents were lovely and very accommodating! Beautiful area and definitely an awesome place to go if you need a little R&R or just want to get off the grid for a little bit!

  • Great place to stay- wish there had been more communication immediately about meeting the villagers themselves but the directions given were clear and accurate and very helpful. The drive was beautlful, location was amazing, and we hope to come back soon. All the animals were great too!

  • Great off the grid place. Tricky little bridge on the way there but we made it in a Sentra no problem. Such wonderful hosts.

  • It was such a wonderful experience to stay in the A-Frame. Definitely off the grid and unique. Thank you for accommodating us.

  • We chose this place as we wanted to visit the redwoods enroute to San Francisco from Portland and it seemed like a good stop for a break. The place is really for someone who wants something off the beaten track. We met Terra and Eric who were very welcoming and friendly. It was a peaceful retreat nestled among the trees. We enjoyed our candle lit experience with an amazing view of the stars. The garden was lovely. I was initially not quite mentally prepared for the toilet and shower facility but it was ok once I used it.

  • Arrived to find cabin occupied. No clear directions on how to find camp host, cabin was full of dirty sheets, blankets, and pillows. I would have had to clean it out to bed down for the night.

    Anthom2016-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • After a quite long drive through the woods on unpaved mountain roads, we arrived at the self-built mountain village where Dan and Jane live. This place is really special! The cabin was really nice and cozy, and plenty of lights were provided. The kitchen is outdoors, making cooking an unique experience, and a warm shower and a restroom is also provided. We really loved this place, as it is really remote, quiet and Dan and Jane are very nice hosts. There are 2 cabins that are rented and even the house where the hosts live is sometimes rented, so we got to know the other guests too and had some good time with them. We have never seen such a clear sky full of stars at night! Having dogs, chicken and goats walk around the property was also a really nice touch. You should be prepared for a more camping-like experience, but if you like being out in the nature, you will love this place!

  • We arrived at Beverly's home fairly late in the evening, after a day-long hike in the National Park. The check-in process was very simple as Beverly had provided clear instructions right from the start. Unfortunately, we weren't able to spend much time at the house as we had to check out next day, so we'll definitely be back to spend more time here. The backyard was beautifully done up and the house is just steps away from the beach. Can't get much better than this!

  • Very gracious and accommodating host. Beautiful property.

    Vik2017-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous accommodation in a great area of Crescent city. Very clean, upscale ambience, comfortable and we felt very welcomed by Beverly. Beaches nearby, plenty to do around or also a perfect place to just retreat and be cozy at your apartment! We loved it and hope to come back!

    Gilda2017-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • The property was a 5 star, spacious, clean with lots of amenities. Separate living room area for relaxing, a patio and even access to a grill. The host Beverly made us feel comfortable as soon as we arrived then disappeared, we had total privacy but she was available if we needed anything. However, everything we needed was at our disposal. We highly recommend this property, it is beautiful.

    Edwin2017-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Beverly has added so many special touches to make sure all your needs are well catered for. The place is beautifully decorated with a lovely landscaped yard, perfect for relaxing no matter the season. Her service is exemplary too, making sure we had fresh fruit and snacks....for our anniversary celebration, she even brought in roses and champaign! A wonderful host at a fantastic location!

  • Daniel and his wife are outstanding hosts! Their place is beautiful inside and out, charming, and impeccably clean. This would be the perfect house for a family on a beach get away, and we wish we had gotten to stay longer. Great outdoor space in the backyard. The bed was too comfortable! I will definitely stay with them again, and look forward to visiting their upcoming new properties.

  • We were a group of four, passing through on a drive from Portland to Oakland. Unfortunately, we only had one night there. It was a convenient location, and Dan and Diane were great hosts. We enjoyed a nice bottle of wine as a welcome present. Grocery store and restaurants were close by. I would definitely recommend this place.

    Luella 2017-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful, well equipped home, on the main road through Crescent City and centrally located throughout town. There was lots of space for our family and we were grateful to arrive each night after touring Redwoods and the ocean beaches. Daniel was pleasant and kind at check in, with a well stocked coffee bar. We found the dishes and pans we needed when we made our dinners each night. The new washer and dryer were appreciated, in doing a quick load of laundry. I would refer everyone I know to visit this Crescent City home!

Our home is in a quiet neighborhood in Crescent City. It's a 12 minute walk to the beach on South Pebble Beach drive, and a 4 mile drive to the Jedediah Redwoods.
  • Excellent base point to explore the Redwoods, and the northern California coast. So many beautiful hikes in the area, breathtaking drives, and lots of history. The home was very clean and equipped for all our needs. Nice separation of space and John was a great host, there when you needed him, and not when you didnt. Highly recommended.

  • Very cute house that met our needs perfectly. Everything is well labeled and well stocked. We didn't have time to walk to the ocean, but it wasn't far away. This was our first AirBnb experience and we'll do it again. John was always pleasant and quick in his communication.

  • I LOVED staying at Robert's and Joyce's!! They are both so sweet, and I loved being greeted at the door by their puppies. :-) They house is so comfortable and cozy. My room and the shared bathroom were immaculate. The bed was super comfortable, and the neighborhood is nice and quiet. I slept like a rock! There are many restaurants close by, and it's close to the Redwoods. I would definitely stay here again, if I'm ever back in the area. I highly recommend their place!

  • It was great to stay at Robert and Joyce's place with their beautiful pets. Location was great as part of our road trip down the coast. The room and bathroom were great, my only comment would be the bed, I think it was more of a sofa but still pretty comfy. Definitely recommend staying with them.

Just 3 miles south of Crescent City, my little bungalow offers all you will need to make yourself feel at home. Crescent Beach and the entrance to one of the most amazing Redwood forests anywhere are both a little over one mile away.
Hello everyone.... Some quick info: The property is less than 3 miles south of Crescent City. Behind the main house (which is where I live) there is a little bungalow that I have been renting to long term renters the last 12 years or so. I have decided to list it on airbnb and see how things go. The neighborhood is quiet and the space is cozy and private and has everything you need to feel at home. I have 2 outdoor cats so if you want to bring a dog, we can talk about it and most likely work something out. There is not an enclosed fence though. The long driveway can handle 2 or 3 cars. I have a cherry tree that puts out sweet cherries every year in July, a plum tree that is on that same schedule, and an apple tree that has hundreds of apples, ripe later in the summer. Feel free to enjoy them! The landscaping and grounds are a work in progress, the last tenants had 3 large dogs that were a little rough (and so were the tenants!) on the property. I am continuing to dial that in and I will try to have a washer and dryer in the near future as well.
This part of the world is beautiful, and there is so much to see that it is hard to know where to begin - the pictures on my listing tell some of the story, and my neighborhood affords easy access to all of it. There is Crescent Beach just a mile away, the Crescent Beach/Endert Beach overlook is down at the end of the road maybe 2 or 3 miles, Battery Point Lighthouse is about 3 miles, Pebble Beach is 4, and the road leading the back way into Stout Grove starts about a mile from here (Howland Hill Rd). All those places are shown in my pictures, and I recommend seeing them if you have time. Stout Grove itself is about 7 miles with access to the Smith River, a rare, unspoiled, undammed river of true beauty. Many people miss Pebble Beach since it is not on 101, but for a stellar sunset, that is the place to be, it is beautiful. Places like Fern Canyon, the Klamath River, Prairie Creek Redwoods, and the southern coast of Oregon are easy drives, and it is all amazing. It rarely gets too hot on the coast but a few miles east it warms up very nicely, and a summer swim in the Smith is really an experience. This area is also known for great fishing. The rules change depending on the time of year, etc, so you will want to inquire about that if you plan on doing so.
  • Staying at Robert's bungalow was great for our trip to the north woods and coast. Having more room than a hotel room and a full kitchen was great so we didn't have to eat out all week and had a place for the kids to spread out and play during meal prep. There was even a yard for them to play in complete with fruit trees, and a basketball hoop on the street nearby (bring a ball) The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of towels. The wood burning stove, heaters, a fan, and great Wi-Fi made for a comfortable stay. It also feels private even though you're on someone else's property. Robert is a great host and very responsive!

  • This was a cozy cottage perfect for our needs. We had a wonderful time.

  • We're a family of four. Robert's house is very cozy and spacious at the same time. We loved coming home, lit the fireplace, put on the oven and have dinner here, instead of going to the restaurant what we normally do. Robert was easy to communicate with and gave us more than complete instructions. If you're in the neighborhood, this is the place to be.

    isabelle2017-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • The listing was very accurate and exactly as the host described/portrayed it. It's in a great location, very close to the ocean and the small town of Crescent City. It was clean and well kept and affordable. Overall, a great first airbnb experience for my friends and I.

    Hannah2016-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, clean, homey and excellent value.

    Amber2016-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Robert was an excellent host! He made sure we knew exactly how to find the bungalow and was also very helpful by giving us a few tips on things to see and do in the surrounding area on our road trip passing through Crescent City. The bungalow is great value especially when compared to what is on offer in the surrounding area! Thanks Robert!

Grandma-style hospitality in a whimsical, arty cottage. LGBTQIA-friendly and welcoming to people of all racial and ethnic backgrounds and dietary preferences. If I left you out, you are welcome too!
A full-size bed in a private room in a cute little cottage at the end of a quiet street, just two miles from the ocean, the redwoods and Lake Earl. Enjoy sourdough pizza when you arrive and home-baked quick breads in the morning, all from my vegetarian kitchen. The cottage is at the end of a quiet street in an older part of town but close to the hospital and shopping. Guests share a bath and may use the kitchen and the laundry room. I enjoy entertaining, and I'm happy to share my home with you. If you want privacy, I will accommodate that. I can also offer you a complimentary tour of Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park for either the tourist or the naturalist. Crescent City is surrounded on all sides by some of the most beautiful scenery to be found in the state, including the ocean, the redwoods, the largest lagoon in the state (Lake Earl) and one of the last natural, unobstructed rivers left in California (Smith River). I do have cats, but they are kept out of the guest room. You are welcome to smoke outside. Finally, please note that the cleaning fee is actually the Del Norte County transient tax that I am required to collect.
My house is at the very end of the street overlooking a wooded ravine. It is very quiet and private, yet within walking distance of a brew pub, shopping and the hospital.
  • Patree is so welcoming, she went the extra mile to provide everything I needed. Her home is expression of her creativity and unique self. Then sourdough pizza and breakfast of sourdough quickbread.

    Kathleen2016-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Patree's house was like spending the night at grandma's. She prepared a delicious pizza, breakfast, and provided great conversation. This is a must stop when headed to the Redwoods. Patree will equip you with insight to the Redwoods that only a native resident has access to. An unsung individual is her friend Marty, whose tasteful contributions to the home permeate throughout the property.

  • Amazing host AMAZING pizza!!!!

    Amber2017-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • HIGHLY recommend!! Patree goes above and beyond in every way and is a 5-star host! Delicious pizza upon our arrival and quick breads for breakfast. Patree was also very helpful with recommendations for hikes and fun stops as we continue our trip. Great first stop on our road trip from Portland to San Diego!

    Alexandria2017-04-09T00:00:00Z
  • Patree is wonderful - this is the only Airbnb private room (versus entire space) we have ever booked - and we did it based on reviews of Patree's hospitality. Staying with her is like staying with an old friend - and one very knowledgeable of the surroundings. She made great recommendations on trails to hike! We loved our stay with her and her sweet kitties. She even made vegan pizza and breakfast for us - so sweet and thoughtful.

    Megan2016-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • Patree was a lovely host! Friendly and outgoing, she made us feel very welcome in her home and cooked two delicious meals for us. She is also took the time to answer our many questions about the area. We really appreciated her kindness and generosity.

    Adam2015-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • I loved staying at Patree's airbnb! She is friendly, interesting, and a wonderful hostess. Her space is exactly as pictured - and then some. Patree is very creative, and you'll find that her house is brightly decorated, homey, and eclectic. The bedroom space was very private and quiet, and Patree lets you have your time to yourself, and privacy, and at the same time, is welcome to chat with you in the evening and morning hours. Her pizza - is to die for! Her recipes are tried and true, and she's a fabulous baker as well. I don't know why anyone would stay at a hotel or motel in Crescent City, as long as Patree's space is open and available. I know that I will return again - for sure! I feel that I made a great friend in Patree, and I hope to stay in touch with her. If you're trying to decide whether or not you should stay here - just do it!

    Jen2015-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • Staying with Patree was like visiting a special friend that you haven't seen for ages- everything during the visit just magically fell perfectly into place making a most wonderful experience. No doubt about it here is a caring human with a huge heart who in the most natural way welcomed me as her guest- made me pizza and bread ( she is a great cook ), we chatted about this and that as friends might do, took me to the redwoods to show me the incredible trees and even waited for me in her car while I took a hike. Thank you so much Patree for being who you are, looking forward to seeing you again my friend! Mike T

Where the Redwoods meet the Sea. A quaint and comfortable home on the coast of Northern California. Conveniently located in town and only a few short blocks to the ocean and harbor. Pet friendly.
Our location is what makes us unique, near Beaches, Brother Jonathan Park, Baseball and Skateboard parks. Lighthouse, Pier and Harbor all within a short walking distance. The house is quaint, comfortable and humble with two bedrooms, and a bathroom. There is a fenced private patio/yard that is perfect for enjoying your morning coffee or a cocktail in the evening. Small pets accepted with pre-approval. House not suitable for toddlers or young children.
The neighborhood is single home residential. We are in a perfect central location. 3 short blocks to the ocean in one direction, and 6 blocks to the pedestrian fishing pier on the harbor in the other and Battery Point Lighthouse. Short walking distance to downtown. Four city parks within 1 to 3 blocks in different directions. Crescent City is a working class town. If one is looking for or expecting a Santa Barbara/Monterey type resort town they will be disappointed with the north coast. But if you are looking for spectacular scenery, amazing hiking in ancient forests, laid back setting, then this is for you.
  • This was our first time staying at an air bnb. We really enjoyed the experience. We were able to rent an entire house for less than the cost of a hotel. The process was easy and we are so glad we chose this option. The house was clean and comfortable, close to the beach and the redwoods. The weather was perfect. Great trip overall

  • Very nice and clean cottage. We enjoyed the back yard as well. Location a plus too.

    Thomas2015-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Jaime was great at communicating the details of the property and the surrounding area. We had a great Thanksgiving at the house. It was comfy and well equipped. We'd happily return. The location was wonderful just a couple of block from the ocean.

  • Awesome place to stay! Listing was 100% accurate. The house was clean, cozy and near the beach! I went for a daily run while visiting and really enjoyed the pier, lighthouse and scenic routes nearby. Also, easy to find, easy to park and just overall a lovely, quiet place to stay! Just remember: no oven! And while I appreciated the TV, Internet, DVD and VHS....you do need to know a little bit about A/V to get everything working. Not too difficult for the average media user but my Mother had no idea. Lucky I was with her! Overall, I'd gladly stay here again and hope to in the future! Well done!

    Lisa2015-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Jaime's home in Crescent City was a cozy and pleasant experience. The house had everything we needed to feel at home! We really liked the fireplace and the proximity to both the ocean and the redwoods. Jaime was an excellent and attentive host.

  • Very nice place to stay. Had all the amenities you would expect. There were 11 of us and the house fit us nicely. Bunk room was great for the kids, and they had their own bath room. Kitchen was well stocked and clean. Back yard is completely fenced and a great place to relax. Here are a few things to know. 1) The new dryer gave us issues. Kept saying Clean Lint Filter, we did about 20 times and we couldn't get the light to go off on that so the dryer would not turn on. 2) spent 2 meals in at the dining room table eating by candle light before we finally found the light switch. It is on a post at the far end of the bar. You may have to move things like we did to find it. 3) The living room sofa is just that. I thought it was a sofa sleeper. 4) You might want to check with Mike to be sure that the Code to enter the house is the right one. We couldn't get in so we called Mike and he gave us the most current one. These are all just little things, that did not interfere with the fun.

    Susan2017-09-10T00:00:00Z

This house is located a short walk from Lake Earl, and the Lake Earl Wildlife Refuge. As a result, an abundance of wildlife is visible on and off the property. Most rooms in the main house are lighted with LEDs, and there is a night light to make it easy to find the bathroom at night. We are not officially in the city limit, but only 4.5 miles from downtown Crescent city.
This room is the largest in the house and offers a queen size bed.
The nearest neighbor is Garetta and Andy Lamoore, who are approximately 400+ feet north of the house. Garetta is a retired famous local artist. We are a short walk to Lake Earl, and the Lake Earl Wildlife refuge, so feel free to enjoy the natural beauty while visiting. And only 4.5 miles from the Battery Point Lighthouse. The Battery Point Lighthouse is only accessible during low tide, and well worth the visit. For those who are more adventurous, there are organized tours of the Pt Saint George Lighthouse, which is only accessible by helicopter.
  • Great value, chill house stocked to the brim with amenities

    Chris2017-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Brian has a very peaceful and quiet place that provided some tranquility while on my trip through the west coast. I never had the opportunity to meet him in person, but he ensured there was ample and proper communication to provide me all the necessary information to enter his home. It was very close to town so checking out and getting a bite to eat was very convenient. Arriving at night might provide someone hesitation, given there's very little lighting in the street, but after arriving, one feels in the comfort of their own home. I would stay here again and would recommend Brian's place to anyone in the area.

    Raul2017-10-11T00:00:00Z

  • Large, private room with a double bed for about £30! It's not perfect but it was a better than I expected for the price. Brian was really helpful over email too.

    Charles2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great value. Comfortable stay. Kitchen is very basic and practical--has everything you would need to cook simple meals. Nice common living room area with games and books. Would definitely come again if in the area. Highly recommended to those looking for a basic, budget-friendly place to spend the night.

    Susan2017-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • It is a very nice and quiet place on the edge of town. Some of the random tools and things laying around the house and yard seemed a bit odd but considering the price, it really is hard to fault it for that. I was comfortable and enjoyed my stay and isn't that what really matters?

    Jake2017-09-06T00:00:00Z

  • This home is even better that the pictures show. Great view, great location next to a fun beach. We paddle boarded over to the little island and rode our bikes to the harbor and lighthouse and around town. The home is in like new condition and extremely clean. We could tell a lot of work and care goes into this place. The communication and helpfulness of the owner was excellent too. Thanks again for a great experience!

  • We really loved our time at Phil's house. The house was very comfortable and a great family space and the views were outstanding! We enjoyed the Redwood forest at Jedediah Smith ...amazing and the coastline was breathtaking. We enjoyed tidepooling just steps away from the house. Prime whale watching would be amazing there. The pace of the town was laid back and not touristy. We found a great fresh seafood market at Crescent Seafood and I had wonderful steamed crab every night! We would definitely come back!

  • Phil and his brother Patrick made checking in super easy and allowed us to check in early on Thursday which was really helpful :) They recommended some GREAT places for us to visit and the house had EVERYTHING you could need to feel comfortable. The house was beautiful, the view amazing, and what a cute quant town to explore. So glad we chose Crescent City and would recommend their home to anyone looking to get away, relax and unwind :) Sunsets were unforgettable as well.

  • Wow... where do we start with the review of this home? It has amazing views of the ocean both outside and inside which makes it so nice if it's too chilly to sit outside. Only steps away from the beach, which when the tide is out, you can walk all the way over to the lighthouse. Also, beautiful gardens in the front and back. The house itself has everything you could think of, including HEATED bathroom floors. It also has a fully equipped kitchen, spacious living room and bedrooms. We will definitely stay again upon our return to Crescent City.

  • Chris and Cynthia have a lovely way of helping one feel like a long time friend. The setting is beautiful and serene, with a magnificent redwood in the front yard. The room is spacious and separated enough from the main living quarters to feel very private. The bed is comfortable and there's quite an assortment of pillows to choose from. Large windows overlooking the backyard give a sweet view of the forest and Cynthia's gardens and green house. The separate entrance opens into the back yard, so you can walk right out into the sunshine and the woods. Highly recommend!

Our place is close to the city center, restaurants and dining, and great views. You’ll love our place because of the comfy bed, the light, the high ceilings, and the coziness. It's good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.
Personal Suite with access through private door allows for privacy. Suite includes private bath, coffee machine, toaster oven, outside porch with swing. And yes, we have chickens and one lone rooster. They are kept penned up while we have visitors.
At one point there were seven large wood mills (redwood and pine) on our street, Old Mill Road, and our home was built by one of the mill managers almost ninety years ago. The house was built in 1929 right at the start of the Great Depression. The original house was built of redwood and pine.
  • Our stay was quite comfortable and homey. Nits met us with genuine friendliness and helpfulness. The accommodations were beyond our expectations. Super comfy bed and great coffee.

We enjoy having campers and had folks camp in their vehicles, have space for campers, open our home for use of shower and WiFi in common areas and have had those who opt to camp stay on our couch in in climate weather! It is not fancy or super clean sometimes with all the animals we have outdoors but it is home and we do love it!
We have two rooms we offer to other guests that share a common bathroom in the main house. I have a long-term house mate as well and they get first dibs on the bathroom and shower. I may ask for a donation for shower privileges if we have multiple campers needing facilities, First time to offer camping so it is new to us!
Close to town but private and quiet.
  • My stay at Kat's place was very enjoyable and I would return again!

    Matthew2016-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Kat and Michael were super friendly and helpful! We loved our little camp spot. Bathroom and shower were super clean and nice. Easy to access. It's so fun to pet the horses and see their chickens and rabbits! Kat showed us all the wild berries and let us eat them. Loved our stay, definitely will be back.

    Nizar2016-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the friendly animals, people, nice fire at night and hard boiled eggs in the morning.

    Rachel2016-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • Her place is a comfortable zoo in the boonies of Crescent City. You might not have known there even were boonies, but I love where she lives and what she's done with the place. She is a nurturer and if you don't enjoy animals and eccentricity and creativity, this might not be the place for you. She is the real deal and I so enjoyed her.

    Crystal2017-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, great family! Kat was an accommodating host and incredibly friendly. All the animals were an added bonus for our camp experience. Kat and Michael had a fire going when we arrived and were very welcoming.

  • Kathleen was great, and her property and animals are beautiful. Perfect for what we needed for the evening.

    Zack2016-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed in her driveway in a campervan. Kat had restaurant recommendations, a clean bathroom and hot shower, and plenty of pleasant conversation. I wish we could have taken a trail ride on the horses but I have an injury that wouldn't permit it. Short drive to one of the prettiest views of the trip!

  • Great place to stay!

    Amanda2017-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Like I said there is a bad homeless population in the near vicinity that makes it uncomfortable for walking without driving. The house was outdated although comfortable and clean. Basic and too expensive for the location and amenities, although the view with the big clear windows of the ocean was very beautiful, and it is only a very short walk to get to the beach.

    Betsy2017-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous location! The space allotted for guests is spacious, well laid out, and comfortable. The rooms and beds are large, clean, and private The deck is a wonderful place to be during dry weather. The only downside to the city was the fog horn that blows every 10 seconds, but we could not hear it in the bedrooms. Very nice place to stay in Crescent City!! We kayaked the Redwoods close by - incredible - and enjoyed the beach and Pacific Ocean.

  • Chris met us at the property and let us know where to find everything we might need. It was raining pretty hard when we arrived, so Chris offered to to move bikes that were in the garage out of the way so that we could park two cars in the garage. We felt that was not necessary, but it was a very kind offer. He told us not to hesitate to call if we needed anything.

  • Everything was perfect, plenty of room and great view.

  • The place was better than expected from the pictures. Great location and ample room for our family. We felt very comfortable, pleased with the layout of the house and all of the amenities. We used to travel in our fifth wheel but the kids got big and now we rent houses for our vacations. My oldest boy told me that this is one of the best houses we ever rented and would like for us to comeback in the summer. One can start bike riding directly from the house, simply fantastic. We highly recommend this place.

  • My family had a wonderful time at this Crescent City beach house. The location was perfect for all of the different types of things my family wanted to do from surfing, running on the beach, bicycling, paramotoring along the coastline, hiking in the Redwoods, inland/coastal fishing... oh so much to do and so easily accessible. The house is located in a secluded haven, bordered by trees, bushes and a manicured lawn, yet the beach is right across the street- a quick walk away, so it provided the best of both world's. You can hear the waves crash as you fall asleep at night. The front and back lawns allowed us to play volleyball/badminton and pickle ball and the outside patio seating was the perfect way to spend a meal at the end of each day. In all of the bedrooms, the beds and linens/blankets were so lovely- high quality for sure. The coastal view was a beautiful welcoming to each day and the sunsets were appreciated nightly. This beach house is very clean and nicely decorated, but it is comfortable and includes many amenities. I would highly recommend this Crescent City beach house because it is close to town, but the house itself is located on a beautiful coastline road lined with a long strand of beach that is never crowded. Perfect!

  • My siblings and I joined my parents here to celebrate they 40th wedding anniversary. My parents loved the luxurious master suite, and the second upstairs master bedroom was very nice as my wife and I just had twin boys in February. (Big thanks to our host for providing a pack-n-play!) The house is magnificent, and has a spectacular view of Castle Rock. We loved taking the provided kayaks out on the ocean on the calm days, and the beach access was exceptional. There is a road between the end of the driveway and the beach, but while we were there, traffic was almost non-existent. The night sky was beautiful, with the Milky Way being visible on clear nights! I brought along my small astronomy telescope and the family loved getting to see the moons of Jupiter, the rings of Saturn, and the features of Earth's moon. This house is perfect for large families, and if we return to Crescent City with the whole family, we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Large kitchen for cooking any meals. Gas stove and convection oven.
Located in the heart of town, filled with a mixture of historical houses.
  • Cozy stay with wonderful hosts Bob and Joyce. We were only passing through for 1 night. The futons were comfortable and nice shower in the nicely decorated bathroom. We loved seeing Bob's train table and Joyce had a lot of barbies and movies for kiddos. Location is close to the beach which is why we stopped by this area, to see the Pacific Ocean. If you're in Crescent City, this is a great place to stay!

  • Robert and Joyce were wonderful hosts. The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. It was exactly as described and I really appreciated them letting me use their kitchen and dinning room for dinner. My kids and I felt very safe and we enjoyed our stay very much. My children especially liked playing with their dogs and cat.

  • I loved this place. It was super homey-- which is a huge plus when I am travelling. Robert and Joyse made us feel super welcome. It was also quiet. After a day hiking in the Redwoods, it was a perfect place to regroup.

You can tell they put a lot of work into making guests feel comfortable. Felt right at home! The room was cozy. The puppies were great too! Loved coming home to them. Great stay!

Trade Winds is close to town and the beach. You’ll love it because of the coziness and location. It is perfect for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers. This home has been completely remodeled and is a duplex with both homes being used for vacation rental purposes. If you would like to bring more guests, you can rent both sides. Please let us know if you have any questions.
Comfy and cozy, yet plenty of space for singles or a couple. Queen bed, walk-in shower, equipped kitchen for eating in, near restaurants for eating out. Walk to the beach or town for shopping on 3rd St.
This home is a duplex in a typical coastal community. The one bedroom is the back unit.
  • Eric's space is perfect for the minimally minded single or couple. It's definitely had a recent upgrade (the large tiled shower is divine but my one year old preferred the deep, wide kitchen sink!) and everything was very clean. The neighborhood was quiet throughout our weekend stay and the duplex was within walking distance to the beach, restaurants, coffee, and shopping. Absolutely would recommend this space to a friend (:

  • The house was very clean, and the bathroom was nice. The bed was comfortable. It's an easy drive to great hiking in the Redwoods. We heard some rowdy teenagers at night and a rooster crowing early in the morning. Overall, this was a great value.

  • Eric was awesome. There was a little mixup when we arrived but Eric came thru like a champ and saved the day. Thanks Eric and thank Jackie for us too! Great team! Enjoyed our stay and rested well. Thank you doing what it took to make that leg of our vacation a lot better.

    Gemma2017-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • This rental is a good value for the money. It is very simple and somewhat close to things like the beach and stores (close being 0.5-1 mile walk each way). There were some challenges with the amenities being as they were described but the bottom line is the place was clean and pleasant to stay in. The biggest issue we had was that the neighboring room (it is a duplex) was connected via a very thin (locked) door from the bedroom, so we heard every single noise from the neighbor and they presumably heard us as well. Would be nice to remove this door or at the least beef it up, it pretty much feels like you are sharing a house with somebody.

We have a cute newly remodeled home nestled in evergreen trees. It is well kept with a cute flower garden out front. The house has new wood floors and is comfortable inside. The guest room has new carpet and a full size bed that is very comfortable to sleep in. Guests have their own bathroom with towel service. We have both lived here most of our lives so we know a lot about the area and the secret spots that are really worth visiting. We know the best restaurants; ocean tide schedule is valuable too. There is a public transit, but you can get yourself anywhere in five minutes here. We are very friendly and social people. I am a social worker and Christopher is in law enforcement. We both went to college I have a BA and Christopher has a Masters . Chris and I both work, so we are in bed at 9:00 pm and are up early. We're the best choice if you love dogs, want a great deal, and a pleasant stay with people who are sociable and hospitable.

  • Julie was wonderful, we were able to get a quick response. We had a comfortable bed to sleep in after a wet day riding motorcycles. In the morning she made us eggs from her own chickens that were fantastic. Would surely recommend this place for a quiet stay in Crescent City.

    William2014-04-19T00:00:00Z

My place is close to hiking in the redwoods, beaches, the magnificent Smith River. You’ll love it because because it is serene and surrounded by trees. It is also close to Highways 101 and 199 so it is an easy place to stop on the way to somewhere else. It is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.
  • I had great time at Kirstens place. She ist a nice hosts. The room was clean and comfortable. I really recommend this place to stay. Thanks

  • The location is great if you are visiting the redwoods or highway 101. There is a sign to direct you to the house when you approach the residential area making it easy to find. The room and bathroom are very clean and cozy. The host kindly prepare a small heater for guests so you wouldn't feel cold in the morning. Would love to stay again if I am around the area in the future!

    Jamie2017-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Kirsten is a genuinely nice person. Her grandson who she homeschools is a sweet child. The room is not too large but large enough for a second twin mattress on the floor. Kirsten allowed us to use her kitchen which was helpful because dining options are limited. Reasonably priced, no extra cleaning fees.

  • Ron and Kristen's place is a perfect redwood adventure spot! I wasn't able to meet Kristen but Ron was an awesome host! He had great tips on hikes nearby and good spots to see the sunset, also very accommodating and great to talk to! I would recommend Ron and Kristen's place if you want a taste of the redwoods and a cool laid back place/host. The bed was comfy, there was a personal fridge available and the house was right off the 101- very easy to get to. I will be coming back during my next road trip. Thanks again!!

  • Our stay in the Nautical Room was so delightful and comfortable. We loved everything about it; Rick & Carol (and their grandsons) were very welcoming and friendly, the room was very nice and so comfortable (especially for me at 35 weeks pregnant!), we all enjoyed the jacuzzi tub, our breakfasts were wonderful and the home sits on a quiet and peaceful property. Our 3-year-old told me "I wish we could stay here forever and ever!" It was true too, it was the perfect place to come back to after adventuring on the beach and through our beloved redwood forests! The location just outside of Crescent City was perfect too. I definitely hope to return.

  • On a scale from one to ten, this place is an eleven. Daniel and Diana are perfect hosts, and their place is really, really nice. Can't think of a single thing that could've been better. Just excellent all around.

  • There are not enough superlatives for how much we enjoyed this home. Our family of 4 adults and one child thoroughly enjoyed the spacious layout of this house with 3 well-appointed bedrooms, a full laundry room, well-stocked kitchen, and gorgeous views of the nearby ocean. The hosts had generously stocked the fridge and pantry with snacks, breakfast necessities, and wine. The good quality cookware ensured that we could dine in every day of our vacation. The house is very close to a Safeway grocery store and quite close to 101. We used this location as a handy launching point to see the rugged coastline of Oregon and Northern California, as well as for exploring the Redwood National and State Parks. We truly enjoyed the peace, quiet, and luxury of this well-appointed vacation home. If you want to unwind, explore Oregon and NorCal, and be welcomed by super-friendly hosts, look no farther.

  • I stayed two days in Western's house and it was the best experience I ve ever had on Airbnb. Everything was very tidy, clean and Western takes good care of you. He is one the kindest and nicest people you will ever meet. You can have great talks with him, a lot of things happened to him and he has a lot of interesting stories to tell. We went hiking together, had great breakfasts and meals (even a picnic) together and went on several hikes. He knows all the hidden gems in the city. Plus the bed is so comfy!! If you are looking for an airbnb in Crescent City, stop right here. It doesn't get better than staying at Westerns'.

  • Mary’s place was our furthest stop south on the Oregon Coast before heading back up north. She was able to take us after 8pm and greeted us warmly. It was her birthday yesterday and she had ice cream cake ready to share with us! We hung out, chatted and laughed a bit before heading to bed. Slept super well—the bed is comfortable and I wasn’t disturbed by road noise. Woke up early, used some stuff in the kitchen before hitting the road. All in all, a very smooth trip with a fun (she’s hilarious) hostess. Thanks Mary!

  • Had a great one-night stay at Mary's place on the way down to southern California via the 101. The experience matched what I was expecting based on the listing. Mary was very friendly and welcoming, and we had a good chat during the night I was there before I headed to bed. The room and bathroom were very clean, and the bed was comfortable. Nice place and good value :)

This is a vacation rental that was formerly our own home until we outgrew it (before it was expanded in a remodel). It is an older home that has undergone some remodeling expansion of most of the rooms to make even better use of the spectacular ocean view, and adding things like a dishwasher, along with wireless internet and DISH Network TV. Lower winter rate starts in the later fall after October. The house is right on the ocean, overlooking Pebble Beach in Crescent City (far northern California, near the Oregon border) with great views, and located by Redwood National Parks (within about 10 minutes or so, in several directions). There is a main house with 2 bedrooms (1 master bedroom with a queen bed, and one smaller bedroom with a queen bed and an older single pullout sofa sleeper that is twin-sized & better for kids than adults) and there are 2 bathrooms. The living room also contains a single-sized futon, and a couple couches, probably more preferable sleeping for kids (such as the sofa bed) rather than adults. Absolutely NO pets and no smoking allowed. There is a modest cleaning fee, unless you wish to clean it up ready for the next guests yourselves...then let us know. [At some times of the year, there is also an upstairs separate studio apartment (above the garage, not above the main house) that can be added on to the house ($90 extra/winter rate, $95 in summer) for another queen bed and a twin-sized day-bed, plus an extra mattress if needed, with a great ocean view and a deck out in front. When available, the upstairs can also be rented alone if a small space is preferred--probably recommended (with set up) for about 2 to 3 guests. (In other words, the upstairs and downstairs are separately rented and can have separate entrances and parking areas--the upstairs-only parking and entrance are from the back of the house--and the two separate floors may on occasion be rented to two separate guests on any given night. There is a locking door between the main house and the stairwell to the upstairs, which can be unlocked if someone rents both floors.) PLEASE NOTE: For the next several months, the upstairs is NOT AVAILABLE (in use already)--So only the main house is available for the time being.] Also, breakfast is NOT furnished as part of this vacation rental. We are just a few minutes (like 5 minutes) from most everything in Crescent City (stores, restaurants, airport, theater, etc.). This is a very safe and lovely area, and there are stairs right down to the beach, just across from the house. Thank you.
This is in a lovely neighborhood overlooking the ocean, and yet has a semi-rural or small-town feeling to it...
  • Great location, great house, great host, great view, definite a great stay for our family.

  • What an amazing location! Loved the place just wish I could have stayed longer.

    Ernest2013-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Neighborhood was quaint, it is a run down town but I wasn't there for the town. Redwood were close and actually better in this part of Cali. Perfect beach house for kids and a ton of space! Blankets and sheets were totally used up cabin linens but made it so much easier to crawl in bed and not feel like I was ruining anything. The host let us use the extra studio above garage, but we didn't need it or use it. I never met them and they worked great at last minute notice. Prices worked great for us.

  • This is a stunning location. Right on a cliff that overlooks the bay with unbelievable views -- sunset -- sunrise. I would LOVE to stay here again. Lori was nice and engaging and met us at the house and gave instructions. I would recommend this place to anyone.

  • Great place with a great view. After 10 hours of driving it was the perfect spot to unwind, cook a great meal and get a good nights sleep. I would definitely stay there again.

  • The main feature here - location! Location! Location! Although across a small road the house overlooks a beautiful beech which literally has one side sand and one side rock pool. The house was clean, warm and was exactly what we wanted. The remodel has created a larger space and 3 bedrooms and we would not hesitate to come back with a larger party.

    Daren2014-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lori was very helpful and flexible. The house pics were accurate and the view was beautiful.

    Jill2015-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed in the upstairs studio. Location is absolutely gorgeous, steps away from the ocean. Apartment was well supplied with the essentials. Owners were in the midst of a remodeling project which was only mildly inconvenient for us and will certainly result in an even better experience for future guests. Great place to stop on a west coast road trip - recommended!

At night you can watch the moon and blinking stars During the raining day you can fall asleep easily listening the rain drops on the glass roof. It is quite cozy and very close to the forest nature. During morning and evening you it is cool at sun room but during day time between 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm it turns into sauna room so we prefer our guest check in after 5:00pm. The private bath is outside next to the bed room. two free Chinese meals (breakfast 8am & dinner 8pm)
Stunning log cabin near state redwoods park and coast harbor Log cabin is 3800 sq. feet. It seats at 21 acres redwoods forest. It is very reclusive and quiet. The space has grown many fruit trees such as Asian pear, peach, lemons, Apple and cherry.
    Save and secluded.
  • The cabin is beautiful! Min is a great cook; dinner was delicious.

    Jen2017-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Min and her husband are lovely, welcoming hosts. Special attention has been paid to every detail, such as fresh fruit and snacks offerings as well as toiletries laid out for guests in each private room. Min's cooking is delicious as others have said, especially if you enjoy spicy food -- but if spicy isn't your thing, Min might be able to accommodate that, as she was generously able to accommodate my partner's onion allergy. Dinner is usually at 7, and even though we arrived at 8, Min had saved food for us and sat us down right away to enjoy the meal. I've noticed other reviewers said it was difficult to communicate due to language barrier, but I did not find this to be the case. If Min was unsure of what I was saying, she would use her (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) translate app and that would facilitate understanding.

    Mekenzie2017-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Min's place is very clean, she adds a personal touch to make you feel comfortable. The area is very quiet, for people who want to relax. Would recommend staying there.

  • Wonderful place to stay. Min was a wonderful host, and a fabulous cook. Everything was lovely.

    Kara2017-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • This charming house is a little off the beaten path, but well worth the trip. Min is a lovely hostess and very thorough in showing you around when you check in. The house is far enough off the main roads that you don't hear road traffic, which is a blessing.

    Thane2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • This home is amazingly beautiful and we slept wonderfully in a comfortable bed. Min cooked breakfast and dinner for us and accommodated our vegetarian request. The house is secluded but a short drive to amenities and the Redwood National Park. You will love staying here. They have wifi too.

    Maureen2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • Ming is very kind and makes wonderful food. It was neat to meet all the other travelers and enjoy meals with new friends. Yard could be more tidy but inside house clean. Know that you will be woken by chickens in the morning!

    Travis2017-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Their lovely log home is only about 5 minutes from the freeway. It is down a private, scenic and secluded driveway among the redwoods. She made us dinner and breakfast and the food was amazing! We stayed in the sun room. I was worried it would get too cold, but it was quite comfortable. I got to stare up at the stars and even saw a shooting start! Their home is in the woods, so keep in mind there may be deer and bears out and about. ;-)

  • Jina's Victorian home is absolutely gorgeous. The house is spacious, gorgeously decorated, located on a very quiet street. The bed was luxuriously soft, and the warm sunlight in the bathroom was heavenly. Easy parking, close to all amenities, full kitchen with everything that we needed to cook our meals. Thank you so much, Jina!

  • Adorable cottage with all the amenities you could want for a little getaway in Crescent City. Walkability was fantastic, the neighborhood has charming homes and the ocean is just a few blocks away! The Redwoods are within minutes, as well as the Coast Highway. We truly enjoyed our stay and anniversary gift from the host, Jina. We will definitely be back!

My place is close to parks, art and culture, great views, restaurants and dining, and the beach. You’ll love my place because of the views, the location, and the ambiance. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids).
Although this bungalow is only 2 bedroom, it is almost 1800 square feet with plenty of room for all. The 'common space' area provides a trundle day bed.
Ocean view property, with steps to the beach.
  • The best AirB&B we have ever stayed at! Large and comfortable house, amazing view, great location! Only steps to the beach.

  • Great place. Book it!

    Robert2017-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful view from the enclosed porch, easy access to the beach across a relatively quiet road. We ate all our meals at the table on the porch, everything is better with that view. There is also a trundle bed on the porch, but it does get quite chilly at night, even in June. The house is clean, comfortably furnished, kitchen is equipped with all necessities for preparing family meals. There is a notebook with very helpful suggestions for restaurants, bike rides, hikes through the area. We would certainly stay there again when in the area.
