Vacation Rentals in Crail

Just booked in Crail

We have 1 double room, 2 double rooms in our very picturesque coastal house. The sea wall is the garden wall with spectacular views of the May Island, Anstruther village and the harbor. Our home is spacious and comfortable Our veranda and food need sampling!
1 twin bedded bedroom £25 per night (if used as a single £50 if used by 2), Downstairs double bedroom ( comfortable and firm bed) access to wetroom (not ensuite) £50 per night. Upstairs double bedroom ( comfortable medium double bed) with sea views £50 per night These prices include breakfast in our sun room! The rooms are comfortable and clean, its the situation and views which are great. We enjoy meeting new people and can give local info as we have lived here for nearly 20 years!
Anstruther is a picturesque coastal village, once a fishing port now a haven for recreational boats. There is plenty to do locally, bird or seal to watch on the island of May with regular boat trips in summer and many golf courses with St Andrews less than 15 miles away. There are many other small fishing villages to explore as we are right on the Fife Coastal Road as seen on the side by side of the BBC series.
  • What a wonderful, comfortable evening we spent with John and Ann in Anstruther. We were welcomed warmly as we walked in the front door, and treated to delightful tea and cookies as the afternoon turned into evening. A short walk into the village for a delicious meal topped-off our day. And breakfast the next morning was too drawer! By all means, check out John and Ann. A nice couple in a comfortable home who treated these Americans wonderfully!

  • We have just finished our amazing stay at Ann's and John's house. Ann and John made us feel like at home. They are wonderful people who maintained great family atmosphere throughout our entire stay. They have done everything that was in their power to make our stay in Fife as enjoyable as possible. We have enjoyed many long and very interesting conversations with Ann and John. Our hosts live in a great picturesque small Scottish town of Anstruther. Their house is situated by the seaside, short distance from the harbour which we could admire from the window of our room. We have spent a lot of time in a lovely veranda admiring their garden, the lighthouse in the harbour and the Isle of May on the horizon. We have also played with their very friendly dog. Their hospitality greatly exceeded our expectations. We strongly reccommend Ann's and John's place to everone.

  • Ann and John's lovely home right on the waterfront in the quaint village of Anstruther was as gracious and welcoming as its owners. The offer of a home cooked meal on our first night was appreciated and the conversation and laughter during our time with Ann and John will always be remembered. Their home is just a 30 minute drive from St. Andrews through gorgeous Scottish scenery and our stay with them was one of the highlights of our trip.

  • Ann and John made us feel very welcome and within an hour of being in their home, we felt like we had known them a long time.

  • Ann and John are wonderful hosts (and the dog is really lovely, too:-)). They gave us a very warm welcome on our arrival. The room had the most beautiful view and was comfortable and clean. Ann made us a wonderful dinner and breakfast and we really enjoyed chatting to them. They made us really feel at home. It was one of our best Airbnb experiences so far, we will definitely stay at their place on our next trip to Scotland. Thanks again Ann and John!

  • Ann and John were very welcoming and hospitable. Communication regarding arrival was great. The view from their sun room was stunning. The accommodation was very comfortable and they were very helpful with their knowledge of the local area. We hope to be back again in the future.

  • Ann and John were incredible hosts to my friends and I as we visited St. Andrews. They made us breakfast, chatted with us about life, and made us feel very much at home during our brief stay in Scotland. Their home was super cozy and had an absolutely gorgeous view of the water. Before I booked, I was worried about the location being a bit far from St. Andrews, but it turned out to be very accessible by taxi/bus. Well worth the booking! The Ann & John experience is priceless!

    Frank2016-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Just an all around lovely experience with Ann and John in their seaside home. Very comfortable rooms and the view from the sun room could not be beat. Wonderful breakfast with great conversation in the morning, and when we regrettably had to move on it was like saying goodbye to friends.

  • The stables was a great place for a weekend break. It was clean, comfortable and cosy and every bit as nice as the pictures suggest. We appreciated the staples (and treats) that were in the kitchen when we arrived, and enjoyed the location right in the heart of the town but down a very quiet wynd. Thanks - would love to come back someday.

  • This was our first visit to Crail. Anne-Marie's home was just as expected - it's well-appointed and a short walk to the harbor. We greatly appreciated the short distance to the grocer, pharmacy, and bakery. The home is centrally-located yet on a quiet street. We'd definitely return and highly recommend staying here.

  • This place felt perfect for us from the first minute we walked through the door. We were staying in Crail for our wedding and this place was lovely for us. It is very clean and very nicely decorated. We loved the kitchen table! The host was great in communication in the run up to our stay.

    Catherine2017-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • The Stables is a charming place with tons of character. Inside is warm and inviting and feels like home. The town of Crail is such a special place. Our stay was wonderful and we have made great memories from our experiences there.

  • What a superb house that made for a great weekend celebrating my sisters 30th. Natasha’s communication and flexibility was super from day one. The pictures (although look amazing) do not do this beautiful house justice. It was spacious, warm and very comfortable and homely. We are already talking about making this an annual trip. Thank you Natasha.

  • We had a great time staying in Crail, the host was excellent answering all my questions in a timely manner before we booked. The house itself was great for us, plenty of space for 7 adults. House in great condition (fabulous bathroom), with very comfortable surroundings to relax, also great location to explore Crail and surrounding areas. Another great find on AirBnB. Many thanks again Gail

  • We had a great stay at St Anne's Cottage, it was a lovely house for different parts of our family to come together and meet. The location in Crail was fantastic - central and ideal for exploring the village. There are many lovely places to visit within 30mins drive too. Excellent space in the house and garden was lovely - very large and ideal for kids! The bunkhouse would be excellent for families with slightly older kids than ours too - perfect play den and sleepover room. Adrienne was very quick at responding to messages before and during our stay. Very clean and in particular great kitchen facilities with everything you could possibly need!

    Emma2017-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location for exploring Crail. Lots of space and comfortable. Adrienne’s responses to questions were immediate and helpful. Check in and checkout was very simple.

  • A beautiful cottage with a lovely garden, located close to St Andrews. 2 Twin Rooms (1 on suite), a Master Double, Sofa Bed in the lounge and a bunk beds out back make for plenty of accommodation. Well stocked kitchen with a welcome loaf of bread, and shops in walking distance for the essentials. Key box for quick and easy any time check in. Only quirk is the one shower in the building- located in the onsuite, but this is workable. Thanks for a great trip!

    Thomas2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely well equipped house in the centre of the picturesque village of Crail. The house was clean and comfortable with everything we needed in the kitchen. The garden is huge and was great for the kids to run around. It's really close to the shops, pubs and tea rooms and just a short walk to the beach at Roome Bay or the harbour. We had a very lovely week and found Adrienne and her partner really helpful and friendly. This was our first experience of Airbnb so I was a bit anxious but everything was great.

  • I can't think of anything at all to complain about - we had a great stay and were really looked after by Marjory next door - having her there really makes all the difference. A great stay in a lovely home - highly recommended !

  • Beautiful location and home. Great location to tour from - Edinburgh, st Andrew's etc. Wish we had longer than 2 days.

    ken2016-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a truly wonderful stay in Crail, and the house is even better than on the pictures and description. It has been beautifully done up, it's very well equipped, and there's a lovely relaxing atmosphere about it. The decor is very elegant and there are lots of little personal touches which make it feel homely. We enjoyed sitting out at the back, and the location was brilliant: you can walk easily to the harbor, to the beach, and to the lovely little shops. The bedrooms are very nice and very quiet, and it's great to have a wet-room and toilet on the ground floor as well as the family bathroom upstairs. Getting organised to get the keys and return them couldn't have been easier, as the owners have relatives living next door. So we would really recommend this place if you are looking for a pleasant home as a base to explore the East Coast, and it is an address we'll certainly bear in mind for further week-ends away in this part of Scotland, as the location and house are ideal.

  • We absolutely loved this beautiful cottage and the wonderful village of Crail. Margo is a great host who was very responsive and has provided all the "little things" you need for your visit. Spotlessly clean and very well appointed. Marjory was right next door to welcome and make sure all was wonderful. This is a great spot for visits throughout Fife (we golfed at St Andrews, Kingsbarns, and Balcomie Links). Don't miss the fresh local lobster at the Harbour! Highly recommended!

  • A lovely house in a lovely wee village. Small, but fantastic garden with great view of a magnificent local church. A great place for relaxation, and close proximity to St. Andrews and surrounding villages. Margo's sister-in-law is right next door and makes you feel very welcome. The weather? It's Scotland, right?

  • Our stay in Crail was exceptional in every respect. The location of the house is perfect, a block from "town" and yet in a quiet neighborhood with a beautiful garden out back. Margo's place is quite new and modern with every need taken care of, especially in the kitchen. All of the rooms have responsive heat and the fireplace in the LR is quite cozy. A family of six would even have room to stretch out with the spacious accomodations.

  • Very spacious home with a full kitchen and GREAT sea view! My family and I stayed here while visiting my brother who lives in Crail and this home is just minutes walking from the main part of Crail and the beautiful harbor. We really enjoyed going for walks along the Fife Coastal Path. The butcher down the street and the Fresh Fruit Veg store have great, healthy, locally raised food if you are eating in at all. The check in process was easy and the host was kind enough to leave us a little welcome treat upon arrival! We will definitely be staying here again.

Welcome to The Caddyshack, our two bedroom semi-detached house in the beautiful coastal village of Crail. A short walk to the centre of the village where there are cosy pubs, restaurants, cash machines and shops . A stones throw from the coastal walk or a 15 minute drive to St Andrews. This is a haven for nature lovers, walkers and most especially golfers - you will even find two sets of clubs for your use. There is a safe enclosed garden with BBQ, fire pit and decking for you to enjoy the sun.
This is a fully equipped holiday house. We use this house for our own friends and family and invite you to share it with us. There are patio doors to the garden which is mainly laid to lawn with decking area with BBQ, fire pit and furniture. There is a small toilet downstairs with the main bathroom upstairs (with a shower over the bath). Two double bedrooms with wardrobe and drawer space are available for you. There is sofa bed in the lounge area, however for comfort we suggest a maximum of 4 adults in the house. The lounge has fire place, dinning table and a selection of books and DVDs for you to enjoy. The TV has freeview , with Apple TV and Netflix. Kitchen is fully equipped with washing machine, coffee maker, large fridge freezer.
This is a quiet residential street on the outskirts of this lovely coastal village.
  • First time using airbnb and what an experience. Lovely home on the quiet outskirts of Crail overlooking wheat fields and 2 minute walk from the coastal path. Lesley made what was a nostalgic trip for us, very comfortable and welcoming. We especially enjoyed sitting out under the stars in the seclusion of the back garden after a busy day. We would certainly recommend The Caddy Shack and will be back!

Fifteen minutes drive from St Andrews and an hour and a half from Edinburgh, Crail makes a great base for a holiday or short break. Several major golf courses are in the area, St ANDREWS, Kingsbarns and of course Crail's own 'Golfing Society' with two courses.
  • Frank and Jo had left milk, biscuits, coffee, tea and all the other things that make it easy to just turn up! The location is great. Looking straight down onto the harbour, with a sandy beach just to the side - I think there was even buckets and spades in the cupboard! We did some of the Fife coastal path, the Elie chain walk and Tentsmuir. Parking was easy. About 20 meters from the access lane, the road widens to allow easy parking.

  • If you love being right by the sea and stepping directly out onto a beautiful coastal path, this could be the place for you. A little but very cosy flat with splendid views and plenty of home comforts inc. espresso coffee maker, wifi, big TV with DVD and BBCiPlayer (more than we have ourselves!), beautiful artwork on the walls (the owner's own paintings - impressive), and a very effective central heating system (an important consideration in Scotland). Remember it is a flat though and so you might hear those around you - we did, but it didn't spoil our enjoyment of the place. Enjoy!

  • We stayed with our son aged 9 for 4 nights in October. He says it was amazing, brilliant and had a lovely view. We agree ! The flat is up one flight of stairs and has fabulous views to the sea ato the Isle of May and over the harbour. It is is a lovely space to live in, very clean and everything was easy to use. Frank and Jo left us a lovely welcome pack gratefully received. Excellent joining instructions too. You won't be disappointed by the flat or Crail itself which is a lovely village. Moonlight on clear nights and sunshine on the sea make everything wonderful too !

  • Frank and Jo's airbnb was an unbelievably charming place with an amazing view and comfortable accommodation. The apartment is full of rustic decor and cute trinkets that make the place quite homey. All in all, my family fully enjoyed their stay in this quant fishing village and recommend anyone to come see for themselves.

    Adrienne2015-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and very well equipped apartment overlooking the harbour at Crail. This is a great base for walks on the Fife coast and only a short drive to St Andrews. Frank & Jo provided clear instructions on how everything worked and a nice welcome pack.

  • What a beautiful place, immaculate, well appointed and with so many welcoming touches, from the wine and chocolates to the fresh flowers. We loved our time in this amazing apartment, can't believe how lucky we were to find it. Thank you for everything!

  • Couldn't have been made to feel more welcome by Frank and Jo. The flat is bursting with character and charm, I've already recommended it to friends and family.

  • We had a lovely 4 day break at Frank and Jo's apartment in Crail. The accommodation was as advertised and perfect for a relaxing break. The views of the Harbour and the Firth of Forth were great, we were lucky with the weather for mid January.

Garden Cottage is a luxury self-catering holiday home set in private gardens just off the main street in Crail. Spacious, modern and luxurious it has three large bedrooms that comfortably accommodate eight. The beach, shops and pubs are a stroll away and there's private off street parking for two cars. On the ground floor you’ll find a large, open plan space to the rear which accommodates the kitchen, dining room and two living areas. High spec and fully equipped, the kitchen comes complete with a SMEG range cooker, microwave, large fridge freezer, washing machine, dishwasher and all the crockery and cutlery you're likely to need. To the side, a large dining table seats eight. Beside this is a cosy TV area with a comfy corner sofa by the fire and a large TV, DVD player and Sky. At the back of the living area are two large sofas with French doors on three sides that open onto the large private garden. The spacious ground floor family bedroom has a king size double bed together with adult size bunk beds, triple wardrobes, a large chest of drawers and a TV/DVD player. Completing the ground floor is a luxury family bathroom with jacuzzi bath and "mains" shower over the bath. Upstairs are two further bedrooms. The master bedroom boasts a king size double bed, double wardrobes, a chest of drawers, TV and a spacious en-suite. Next door is a large twin bedroom with built in wardrobes, chest of drawers, TV and sofa. The rear walled garden is fully enclosed and includes a large lawned area at the back. The patio has garden furniture and outside lighting so you can stay out long after dark. Pets welcome.
Crail may be a small village but it offers a great selection of local shops, places of interest and things to do. Made a Royal Burgh by Robert the Bruce in 1310 and now a quiet haven, it is hard to believe that the village’s Marketgate was once the largest medieval market place in Europe. Today you can relax in one of Crail’s homely coffee shops, restaurants or pubs and the village also boasts its own butcher, baker, pharmacy as well as gift shops and convenience stores. Set around a 12th century castle and picturesque fishing harbour, the best way to explore Crail is by foot. There is a fabulous beach with rock pools to explore and, for the more adventurous, an exhilarating coastal walk. All you need to self-cater is available within a short stroll of Garden Cottage.
  • stayed at Garden Cottage for three nights with with my friend and our kids. A beautiful cottage which can truly be described as a 'home from home'. Clean and stylish the cottage was the perfect retreat. The garden was wonderful for the children as it was fully enclosed and very private. Would most certainly stay again and recommend 100%.

  • Great house in a great location. Crail is a perfect spot to discover the East Neuk of Fife!

    Claire2017-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Alan's place is superbly located for anyone wanting to stay in Crail itself and quieter and better value than staying in St Andrews if your goal is lots of golf (as ours was!). Lots of space in the bedrooms and living areas, big kitchen and gorgeous little garden too. We stayed 9 nights and golfed each day, returning after golf or between rounds for a rest and some lunch. Very convenient for Crail GS (5 mins), Kingsbarns (10 mins) and St Andrews (20-30 mins). Comfortable beds, good showers, good heating and only 2-3 mins walk to the local Coop, pub and fish shop. I even saw a movie at the local film society (The World's End - 3 stars actually!). There were only the two of us, but the Garden Cottage caters for at least 4 and probably 6 if there are two couples. It's a great place - heartily recommended

    Scott2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful cottage! Beautifully furnished, wonderful garden space, everything you need and more for a fantastic stay. There's so much space, the cottage is very bright and comfortable. Crail is an excellent holiday setting, and this cottage is well positioned close to the beach, coastal path and play park. I couldn't recommend this cottage more highly.

    Suzanne2017-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • Crail is a small, pretty quiet town and the cottage is located in one of the prettiest bits, right by the church but off the main road. The interior space is lovely and flexible and being able to be indoor/outdoor with the garden adds to the pleasure. The garden is nicely kept. The kitchen is well set up with excellent SMEG cooker and all you could need by way of crockery etc. It is easily accessible, super clean and fresh. The only consideration I would raise is if any of your party have limited vision - the stairs are reasonably dark and my Dad - who has limited vision - id find them a it dark.

    Svend-Einar2016-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • All we can say is WOW, once you enter through the front door the whole property opens up in to magnificent open space, the kitchen was fantastic with so much extra crockery and cutlery saving many trips to the sink to wash dishes, the bathrooms and bedrooms were really comfortable. Thanks again Alan for allowing us to stay in your wonderful property, we are already planning to re-visit soon.

    David2017-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Crail is a charming little town with amazing views and scenic beaches and lovely walks. The cottage is as described, very spacious, open layout and nicely decorated and furnished. The garden is inviting and we enjoyed our coffee in the morning sun. For our dogs is was heaven, as green lawns and beaches to run and roam were only a minute away. Stores and food were within walking distance, the local fish and chips were good, the golf pub ok, but not exciting. Recommend visiting St Andrews for some must see golf history, but playing Crail Balcomie Links, David the Pro was amazing, and the course is spectacular. Considering the other 5 star reviews, I have to mention that I did not find the place as clean as expected, especially the kitchen, while at the same time I understand that with the place usually booked here is only limited time during change over. Overall, I would definitely stay again. Thank you again Alan for allowing dogs into your lovely place.

  • This cottage was absolutely lovely- a quiet road and it felt very private and we all feel refreshed and calm particularly after having no Wi-Fi!! Or mobile signal (we weren't aware of this prior booking however and it may be invaluable to some guests, and worth mentioning - otherwise splendid!

  • This was a great stay. Fhiona provided us with all the information that we needed prior to arrival and the house was spotless when we arrived. The kitchen and bathroom was really well stocked with things you'd otherwise forget and the bottle of wine and selection of magazines were nice touches. The location of the house is great as it is 2 minutes from the main street and the harbour but the road itself is very quiet. The house was very warm and comfortable. The neighbours were friendly and offered us advice for places to visit.

  • Fiona was very helpful. House as described.

    Pauline2016-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • We spent a lovely weekend away from it all in Crail. We had no trouble finding the place, as our host Fhiona gave superb directions and left the key for us to pick up. She even left tea and coffee which was great after the drive there. This house was exactly as described: spacious, bright, comfortable and modern. Hotel standard cleanliness, open plan design and hot water on demand. We were blessed with the weather and spent a lot of time exploring the area. Recommended for anyone with an interest in photography, we got some great shots. Though there were only two of us, this house would easily host a family or large group of friends. We will definitely be coming back and staying here with friends for the St. Andrew's Open - it is only 30 minutes down the road! Highlights for us were the local scenery, the village of Crail, and of course the house itself. Couldn't believe our luck to find such a fantastic, comfortable haven to stay in. Will be recommending it to friends. Thank you Fhiona for all of your tips for exploring the area and sharing your beautiful house... we will be back :-)

  • A lovely, light, airy, modern house in a great position for exploring the beautiful East Neuk. There is everything you could wish for in a holiday home, and all in immaculate condition. Wonderful coastal access 2 minutes' walk away, yet the house is in a quiet spot. Fhiona is a delightful, organised and very helpful hostess - couldn't wish for a better airbnb experience!

    Averin2015-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • We've just returned from a 3 night stay and loved the property. Fhiona had been in close contact before our arrival and was forunately able to deal with a late change in our circumstances. We were made very comfortable, the flat was warm throughout and the kitchen was well set up with modern appliances so mealtimes went without a hitch. The house itself was well positioned, being just a few minutes walk into the village centre, and not much further to get down to the sea front. It's a cracking place to escape to if you're looking for a homely and relaxing place in a picturesque corner of Fife

    Matt2016-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful in every way. Fhiona provided excellent communication prior to arrival and was waiting in person to greet us at her impeccable Crail home. We were welcomed with local jam, bread and other treats. The home itself is immaculate and thoughtfully stocked with every necessary kitchen accessory and wine glasses a plenty! Bright, airy, and spotless, each room is tastefully decorated with very comfortable beds and new IKEA linens. "Lovely" sums it up perfectly. Only a 9 mile straight shot drive to St Andrews, I HIGHLY recommend this beautiful home to anyone visiting the University or a group golfing trip. We will definitely stay here again! Thank you Fhiona!

  • A truly excellent house which was an absolute joy to stay in for our week watching the golf in St Andrews. Fiona is a fantastic host was impeccably organise and very good selector of wine and cheese for our arrival! The house is beautifully furnished and is a stones throw from Trail harbour and within easy reach of the South five coastline as well as Andrews. I couldn't recommend it more highly. Thank you Fhiona for a fantastic stay.

  • We had a great time at this lovely house in Crail. The house was beautifully clean and bright, well furnished and just as described on the site. There was a generous welcome pack on arrival, good quality towels and toiletries and the beds were comfortable with attractive bedding. Crail is an lovely village with a beautiful harbour and good walking along the coastal path. We were able to buy lobster and crab at the harbour and there are a number of useful shops in the high street for everyday needs. All in all, a great place to stay.

  • We had a lovely time, Yvonne was a fantastic host. It was a perfect setting for our family Christmas we had all we needed and more. The house was in a brilliant location for walks along the coast and using the village facilities. Would love to go back.

  • A big thank you to the lovely Yvonne. The house was lovely and clean, really well stocked with added extras and a great location. Thank you so much.

  • Yvonne is the perfect host! She literally thinks of everything which can make your stay comfortable and trouble-free. It was very straightforward to contact Yvonne and she always responded promptly. The house is beautifully presented and there was lots of space for the seven adults in our party. The towels and linen were of a lovely quality too. A refreshing 'bottle' and other treats were left for us to enjoy., as well as complimentary toiletries. We were warmly welcomed, and really touched that Yvonne had recalled that the purpose of our visit was to attend a birthday celebration - Lo and behold - a birthday card and thoughtful gifts were waiting for the birthday girl. She quickly let us know that a phone charger had been left behind and asked for an address so that she could post it back, declining payment for postage and packing

  • My wife and I had recently to be near St. Andrews for a week for professional reasons with out daughter, and we were lucky enough to find this cozy house in the beautiful village of Cray available. The house is as nice as it looks in the pictures, it is perfectly well equipped and comfortable in every respect, including stuff for children. Ivonne, the owner, takes good care of you during your stay, among other things making available the many aloe vera products she markets. Crail is a beautiful place, with small shops where one can get the basic things in excellent quality – great vegetables, bread and beer to accompany a meal with the local lobster and dressed crab that they sell, perfectly well prepared, at the harbor. And there is also the three miles coastal path between Crail and Anstruther for wonderful walks and other outdoors activities such as shell gathering. So we strongly recommend the place, and will try to get it again when we are back!!!

    Manuel2016-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second visit to Yvonne's lovely home as we loved it so much at new year. We had a fantastic warm welcome again and the house was spotless. Really recommend as all home comforts available here and location wise it's just perfect. Another fantastic time in crail! Thanks Yvonne for being so lovely.

  • Our large family of 7 was easily and comfortably accommodated in Yvonne's lovely Crail home! She was there when we arrived to welcome us, show us around and answer any questions we had. Her demeanor was one of respect and kindness all bundled together into a lovely welcoming spirit. Her home had everything we needed and more! Thank you Yvonne! You're the best!

    Derek 2016-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was comfortable, spacious and a pleasure to stay in for our short stay. It had off street parking but also on street parking and a view to the see from two of the rooms! Yvonne kept in fantastic contact in the lead up to our stay and met us at an agreed time. The cottage was cozy and warm for our arrival and there was even basic drink making facilities so we could stave off a trip to the shop until morning. Crail itself is small enough to be tranquil and quiet get away, but with enough amenities to keep you stocked up with food (or fish and chips!). Would highly recommend.

My place has great views toward The Isle of May and is close to the historic harbour. You’ll love my place because of the neighbourhood which has many arts and crafts festivals and is close to the beach. My place is good for couples and families (with kids) and with only two small steps may be suitable for those with limited mobility (although not wheelchair accessible). it has its own private gardens with patio area.
This is a two bedroom ground floor flat with sole ownership of the gardens. We offer 1 king size bed, 1 double bed and 1 single bed. The kitchen is fully equipped with gas hob, electric oven/grill, fridge with freezer compartment, washing machine and microwave. There is also a tumble dryer within the property. Gas central heating is complimented by a wood burning stove. Hot water is available on demand.

  • A very well presented ground floor apartment in an 18th century building with lots of character and a great location just above the very picturesque harbour of Crail. The accommodation worked well for our group of 2 seniors, 2 adults and 1 child, thanks to the configuration of double and single beds in the 2 bedrooms. Although located on the main road through Crail, there is not much traffic and road noise was not an issue at all. The lovely little garden to the rear of the house was a sun trap with great views over the harbour and out to sea.

The property is situated close to the sea and up a short but steep road which has the benefit of providing wonderful sea views from the accommodation, it could however prove difficult for a person with mobility difficulties. The accommodation its self is situated on the second floor of a three storey town house set in a quiet residential courtyard. We have a double garage containing washing and drying facilities and a dedicated parking space, which is extremely rare for the area. The bedroom benefits from a king size bed and has views over the Firth of Forth flowing into the north sea. The living room has a large corner suite and access to a 65" Smart TV where you are welcome to use your own Netflix, Amazon or NOWTV subscription, we also have access to a range of premium channels from around the world. Although mainly ideal for couples or single travellers, it may be possible to accommodate a small child or baby within the bedroom or on an inflatable bed within the living room. Anything we can do to help, please feel free to contact us and we will see what we can do The house has good broadband access and speeds of 30 Mbps as an average.

It is very close to some of the worlds best golf courses including those of St Andrews, Kings Barns, Crail and Lundin Links. Our local course at Anstruther has what many consider the hardest par three hole in the UK. If golf isn't your thing there are a wealth of other activities for you including fishing, boat trips, fine local food ( we even have a Michelin stared restaurant within a five minute walk from our doorstep ). There are also opportunities for excellent Spa experiences, field sports and plenty of scope for taking in the Arts.

The cottage is a very highly equipped new build so has all the amenities you could wish for ! Kingsbarns is ideally placed for access to St Andrews but also to visit other stunning Fife coastal locations such as Crail, Anstruther, Elie and Pittenweem.
  • Our first AirBnB letting/experience with Eileen's home was a very pleasant one. We were over for the British Open and the location 6 miles from St. Andrew's was ideal for us. The cottage was modern and clean with nice views and plenty of new, modern appliances such as TV and internet. We were also able to have nice hot showers, felt very comfortable and really enjoyed our stay. Kingsbarns itself is very pretty but quiet and for shopping/food one is best served going to Crail, which is a short 5 minute drive away. Thank you Eileen.

Despite not being able to meet us at our arrival time she made sure that a neighbour was present to let us in. Anstruther is a beautiful shipping village and the room reflects this. Susan thanks again.

  • Susan was there to welcome us when we arrived, and was charming and helpful throughout our stay. She had good local knowledge and was able to recommend places to eat locally. The room had tremendous views over the Fife Coast, and was comfortable and spacious. We had a bathroom downstairs to ourselves and the breakfast provided was excellent with a large choice of cereals, fruits, rolls, jams butters and marmalades. All in all a great experience that I would recommend to others.

It's a charming place to stay, within walking distance of the gorgeous Kingsbarns Beach and just a quick drive to St. Andrews. LaVerne was a responsive and thoughtful host, and the cottage was perfect for an active family of four!

Modern 4 piece bathroom, bath/shower, basin, WC and bidet. Close to amenities, beaches, golf courses. Warm and cosy, open fire for cooler times of year. Beautiful part of Scotland. Easy parking.
  • I have stayed in many holiday cottages in Scotland and this ranks amongst the best. It was bigger than expected and in a superb location being only a short walk to the harbour. From the upstairs rooms you can see across the Firth of Forth to North Berwick. The cottage is well appointed, comfortable and tastefully furnished. Crail itself is a delightful small friendly village with a couple of pubs, local stores, a bakery and a lovely harbour area and coastal foot path. It is an ideal base for exploring the Kingdom of Fife with St. Andrews and Cupar being only about 9 and 11 miles away. Edinburgh and Perth are only about an hour or so away and Dundee about forty minutes. Owen was a very helpful, kind and approachable host and I would definitely recommend this cottage as a great place to stay and relax.

My home is a converted oil skin factory located on the shores of the Firth of Forth. I am fortunate to live in this charming and beautiful community of Cellardyke. The bed room has one single bed with another pull out bed under it at an additional charge to be paid on arrival if used. My home is on the Fife coastal path. The May Island boat is a 5 min walk away. I have been told there are many birds to be seen from the bedroom window. You can fish or paint from the rocks outside the house.
Modern spacious bedroom with sea views. Located on the Coastal Path. You can have the use of kitchen. There is garage space for a bike or luggage etc. Great location for bird watching, fishing, walking, painting and the May island boat is about a 5 minute walk away. Located approximately 1 hour drive from Edinburgh. 15 minute drive from St Andrews.
I live in a charming old fishing village. My house in located on the coastal path. We are 5 mins walk from Anstruthers pubs, restaurants, and famous chip shops. There is the May Island boat which leaves Anstruther daily March-October for bird watching, The secret bunker, and Kingsbarns distillery are nearby too. Great location for cyclists and I have a garage where your bike could be stored.

  • Five stars doesn't seem enough to capture how delightful my stay was! More wonderful than even the ideal location (right on the water!) and comfy, clean place, was how Susan welcomed me and made me feel so at home. Thanks so much, Susan!

Brenda and hubby were lovely and since the room was upstairs it was nice and private. we had our own key to get in and out without seeing anybody. If we had stayed longer i would have loved to sit in the garden by the sea and just enjoy ..... maybe next time

  • Clean room with twin beds, comfortable and warm. Tea and coffee with kettle available....also a microwave and fridge outside on landing. We only saw Brenda when we checked in and left, but she was available if we needed her. The best thing is the location and the view from the room. It overlooks a lovely garden then the sea. We could hear the waves at night and all the sea birds in the morning.

  • Lovely house right by the sea, amazing views. We had the top floor of the house to ourselves. All amenities provided, including cup of tea! Very comfy bed. Hosts have dogs but they are pretty friendly! Host themselves very welcoming.

  • A lovely place to stay, the views are spectacular and there is a sunny garden to use if you like . The accommodation is extremely clean and comfortable. Brendaand Brent were really welcoming. They were there if we needed them but equally we had total privacy within their home as we were on the top floor away from their living area . We would fully recommend this accommodation.
