Sherwoode is a luxury retreat situated in the designated Historic precinct of Stirling in the Adelaide Hills. Set amongst stately homes and English style gardens, many of which were established as summer residences of the Adelaide gentry in the late 1800’s. Although less than 20 mins from the CBD, it is also less than an hours drive to the famous winery region of the Barossa Valley, the River Murray, and the beaches of the South Coast and Victor Harbour. Historic Hahndorf is 10 mins away.
Sherwoode is not just somewhere to sleep. It's a beautiful property set in a private landscaped garden with outdoor dining, fire pit and BBQ facilities. A lovely continental breakfast is provided to all guests, even at our low tariff. Extras provided at no charge include a bottle of bubbly, afternoon tea, chocolates, and a Nespresso coffee machine.
The Adelaide Hills present a unique environment in South Australia with the altitude and mature Oaks, Elms and Stringy Bark trees presenting the ideal climate for English style gardens. Although separated from suburban Adelaide, it is only a 6 minute drive away, and less than 15 minutes from the CBD. Boutique shopping, coffee shops and cafes set amongst picturesque Villages are typical of the area.
  • The house is beautiful, and has everything you could possibly need and more. It was wonderfully warm when we arrived with the fire already going, and we had the most amazing, relaxing stay.

  • Sherwoode was one of the nicest places I have ever stayed. I have already recommended it to others and would love to stay there again myself.

  • A comfortable and modern studio accommodation with excellent amenities in the Adelaide Hills. A great base for us even if the weather wasn’t as friendly.

  • A great spot in Stirling, also close to Crafers. Has everything you could need. We only stayed one night (all the grandparents could handle our kids for!), but could've happily stayed much longer.

  • Beautiful little spot in the heart of the Adelaide Hills, gorgeous views and comfortable little rooms

    Sarah2019-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • The most beautiful building, grounds and surroundings. Such a lovely place to spend the weekend. My husband and I had a great weekend. The rooms have little kitchenettes and there’s a great outdoor space with chairs and tables to be able to each meals or enjoy some cheese and wine. We definitely want to go back for another weekend getaway. The only negative was the wifi didn’t seem to be working and when it did it was so slow that you couldn’t actually use it anyway.

    Jamie2019-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • Naomi was a great host and very easy easy to contact. The room was lovely and clean and the amenities were very generous! Such a beautiful location as well.

The supermarket across the road is super convenient. We really enjoyed our stay here and appreciated the extra touches from the host. Highly recommended!

  • Pam’s place is charming, cozy, and very comfortable. A hidden gem! There were fresh flowers, a bottle of wine and many choices for breakfast. She went the extra mile to make our stay refreshing and relaxing, and was very prompt in responding to our messages. Thank you, Pam, for a lovely stay!

    Maya2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Pam's Place was short and sweet. Prior communication with Pam was timely and informative. The location in the Adelaide Hills was central to satisfy any needs or whims and only a short drive from Adelaide. The property was very clean and tidy. The decor was tasteful and fitting. The goodies left for us were generous and thoughtful. The beds were comfy. The linen was clean and plentiful. All mod cons were included. I would easily recommend Pam's Place for the ease and convenience of enjoying a quick getaway or a longer stay to refresh the mind, soul and lungs. Thanks Pam. Look forward to our next taste of nature and country side stay!!

  • The home is hosted by an artist and an musician who are very hospitable and cordial. Beverly and Sam are more than what we expected. Beverly even did the laundry for us, and we felt Sam’s passion and kindness all the time as he always smiled to us and chatted with us. We were just like in an exhibition of art when staying there because of the deluxe and hand-made furniture in every single room, the artwork and antiques every where in the house, and the thick growth of plants in the backyard. We had our bedroom, bathroom, and even living room in the second floor, which made our stay deeply private and comfortable. We really want to say thanks to Beverly and Sam and recommend this house to everyone who seeks for a memorable and special journey.

  • We booked Shirley and Rodger's place for relatives attending our son's wedding in Blackwood Forest. It was the perfect location. Shirley and Rodger are amazing hosts who were welcoming of our family and went above and beyond. We are so grateful for their thoughtfulness. Our relatives were thrilled with the accommodation which even included breakfast. Thankyou Shirley and Rodger.

  • A perfect place with a nice view

    Khurram2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • We spent 6 weeks in Shirley and Rodger's lovely house and had a great time there when the two kids studied in a local primary school within walking distance. The rooms were spotless, and the communication were wonderful. We cooked everyday in their modern kitchen. Shirely and Rodger were very helpful with airport picking ups, dropping offs and a lot more. They even manged to give us a BBQ before we left which was impressive. They are the best BNB host I ever met. We are gratful for everything they have done beyond a host.

Relax in the shade and admire a garden filled with well-tended mature plantings. A meticulous touch has also created an elegant interior of fine Chinese furniture and accent pieces. Soak in a soothing bath tub before retiring to a queen size bed.
Offering a quiet, comfortable Queen Bedroom for 2 people in a peaceful and quiet home 10 minutes from the City center of Adelaide, South Australia. The bedroom comes with a private access from the courtyard garden. Large bathroom with both a Bath and Shower, towels and amenities included. This house is peaceful, warm and inviting, a home away from home, to relax and unwind after a busy day sight-seeing. The house is located in a gated community, so it is very safe and secure. But also located only 10 minutes from the Adelaide City Centre. There is a bus stop right outside the front which can take you straight into the City, so it is very easily accessibly. The Guest Bedroom fits 2 people comfortably. The bedroom has a private door access from the courtyard. The bedroom also opens up to a private courtyard garden. There is also a hanging closet and very large bathroom with both a shower and bathtub. Towels, soaps and amenities are included. In terms of accessibility, the house is located 10 minute taxi rider to the city center. But there is also a very large shopping center with luxury brands, clothing, home-wares and food shopping located within a 7 minute walk down the road. There is also a grocery store and café only 5 minutes walk away for any fresh food shopping, a coffee or lunch. I can recommend many great restaurants around the neighbourhood such as Indian, Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese and Italian cuisine all within a short walk or drive from the house. There is a separate laundry available with a washer and dryer, iron and ironing board for your use. Parking is also included for your convenience. Adelaide is a city best known for it’s Arts and Music Festivals. Festival Season begins in mid February and runs through until end of March. This is considered ‘high season’. The location of my home is only 10 minutes drive from the heart of the Festivals and event locations. I highly recommend visiting Adelaide in the Australian summer – January – March and to come and visit for the Festivals which include – The Fringe festival, The Adelaide Festival of Arts, the Womadelaide Festival, The Clipsal 500 car race, and the Tour Down Under in mid January. All of these major events showcase the best Adelaide has to offer.
The house is 10 minutes from Adelaide City Centre. Walk to a fantastic fresh food grocery and lovely cafe that sells fresh fruit and vegetables, cheeses, pasta, fresh bread, and many different coffees and chocolates.

  • You can find an isolated, quiet and beautiful place, do not get excited about the pool because it is not very clean, but everything else was too clean and organised, I do not miss anything. This place is amazing.

  • Sally's place exceeded our expectations. There were very thoughtful little touches that made it a bit more special. The view from the balcony is amazing. Can highly recommend to anyone.

  • Sundance BnB was amazing. The room was spacious, beautifully and thoughtfully decorated - we even got fresh roses 😍 The view from the balcony overlooking the Adelaide Hills was so serene and relaxing. We had a living room, also nicely decorates. Our breakfast was delicous too! The fact that our pooch had a company of Stella, Sally's little Jack Russel made our short trip unforgettable. Thank you Sally!

Recommend checking out Deep Creek Bridge (nice spot for a picnic) and Lost in a Forest (local pizza/wine bar), both of these were around 5 minutes drive from the manor. Thank you.

Josie and her husband Kent were lovely and warming hosts. She opened her home to us, the room was comfortable with tv, DVDs, breakfast and tea. She gave us lots of recommendations of where to eat and see in Adelaide. We really enjoyed our stay with Josie and we recommend her to everyone!

The very cocooning English is perfect accommodation. We had a great time and it was a good meeting. Charles and Marie Annick (France)

  • The house looks exactly like the pictures shown on the app. Josephine and Kent are very nice and lovely people. I feel welcomed there. Belair is amazingly beautiful and quiet. The bed and pillow are very comfortable and cozy. I slept for 13 hours straight. I love the cat there. He was the first one welcomed me in. The breakfast was very lovely. Josephine is into very healthy food and diet. They were very nice to have offered me dinner with them for some salad and wine. Kent is a writer. The surroundings are absolutely gorgeous. The sunset was stunning and breathtaking. The house is very clean, by the way.

We were pleasantly surprised immediately on setting foot into the beautiful garden, but when we saw the actual accommodation hidden away behind tree ferns and green lush garden we were delighted! It felt like we were holidaying in a tropical rain-forest rather that a country town. Every detail was thought of, from the chocolates on the bed to the tea tray and welcome platter. We enjoyed a glass of port in the guest lounge and huge range of DVDs. We were completely left alone and it was the perfect getaway. Thanks Marion!

  • Spectacular... everything about this property is stunning!!! The setting, the actual apartment, the furniture, breakfast provisions, a bottle of sparkling, spa bath, cleanliness and everything else needed!! Can’t fault and highly recommend! There’s access to an indoor pool but unfortunately a combination of busyness and cooler weather prevented us from utilising it. Next time... I’m hoping there’s a next time.... beautiful place! Communication was excellent.... were provided a map for directions.... highly recommend!!!!!

  • What a great place to unwind! Beautifully appointed apartments with everything you need and more. The indoor pool was a complete bonus. Could have easily spent a few nights here! Recommended!

    Adam2019-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • This place is wonderful. We arrived on a Christmas Day, and Helen has prepared the unit beautifully. There were some lovely touches - candles, mini glass Christmas tree and party poppers. Helen has kindly left amazing breakfast supplies in the fridge - eggs, mushrooms, bacon, butter and delicious bread. And don't forget the bottle of local sparkling wine. How cool! Right next door was a heated pool. My husband and I absolutely loved going for a swim after a long day of driving and sightseeing. The main attractions of Stirling (cafes and restaurants) are only short 5 min drive. We enjoyed many a breakfasts and dinners there. On some nights we cooked up a feast back at the apartment. It has a full kitchen and everything you need for preparing a lovely meal. I highly recommend The Retreat at Stirling. My family and I will sure be back!

    Tatiana2019-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • The Retreat at Stirling was a dream come true. It is exactly what my partner and I needed for our weekend away from the city. The location was just off the freeway but the noise never travelled, it felt like we were completely isolated in our private apartment. We loved cooking our breakfast in the morning, and enjoying a few glasses of wine with a game of chess in the evenings by the fire. Highly recommend as a romantic getaway!
