The Creamery is a recently renovated charming two storey stone cottage located just under 10 minutes from Gorey town, renowned for its great shopping and Restaurants. A great base to explore our beautiful hills and beaches which are close by.
The creamery has been recently restored and includes integrated modern conveniences. The interior is ambient and full of natural light. It is heated with air to water heating system (which provides constant hot water) and a solid fuel stove in the living area. There is a bathroom with shower upstairs, and a bathroom with bath downstairs. A brand new modern kitchen with dishwasher has been installed. A large bedroom upstairs with king bed ,and a second smaller bedroom upstairs with double bed. The Creamery is located on its own site with its own private entrance .
  • Fabulous place to stay. The creamery is comfortable and has so many fantastic touches that make you feel right at home. It was clean, the beds were comfortable, house and the heated floors were heavenly warm at all times. We’ll 100% be back again for another trip out of the city. Exactly what we needed and this place delivered above our expectations.

  • Fiona was an incredible host, with a beautiful home. The Creamery is just stunning, warm and cosy. Fiona thought of everything and we couldn’t have asked for more. She was so thoughtful regarding us being vegan, and made sure there were some lovely treats for our arrival! Can’t recommend enough, our only downside was having to leave!

  • My Mom, sister and I have just returned from a fabulous weekend at The Creamery. From the moment we booked, Fiona's warmth and hospitality was apparent and this continued throughout our stay. The house is stunning, with so many special features. Fiona has thought of absolutely everything - from homemade brown bread to toiletries, sweets, games - the list is endless! We'll definitely be back!

  • Fiona and Claire's place is so relaxing to be at. Lots of lovely little touches like bathroom treats and fresh bits on the fridge for breakfast. Lovely space to be in and had a great night sitting under the stars just feeling away from it all. Will come back for longer next time not just to enjoy the area but to enjoy their lovely hospitality and warm welcome.

  • A stay at the Creamery is a must! The place is absolutely stunning and has everything you could possibly need. All of the little touches around the house really make it special. The two hosts, Fiona and Claire, were fantastic and very accommodating. We absolutely loved this place and will definitely be back. Couldn’t recommend it enough!

  • The best AirBnb experience we have ever had! I knew by the photos this place would be gorgeous but if possible it is even better than we expected! Fiona was so lovely to deal with and the her attention to detail was second to none. We really appreciated the little touches like fresh baked bread and cakes and eggs and bacon in the fridge! It’s a home from home and we can’t wait to go back again, I’m already looking at dates!

  • My girlfriend and I had the best time at The Creamery! It’s a beautiful, cosy home that was perfect for a winter weekend away for two (although it would have had more than enough space for 4!). Everything was stylishly decorated, clean and well equipped. We loved putting the fire on after a long day’s walking, and relaxing in the living room each evening. The kitchen has everything you might need, and the underfloor heating and smart TV were a luxurious touch. Fiona was a great host - we arrived to find fresh baked bread and cakes, plus eggs milk and bacon in the fridge for our stay, shampoos and body wash in the bathrooms, and even a couple of Christmas crackers! And she was super helpful and immediately on hand when we had questions or needed anything. The main bedroom where we slept was really comfortable too. Would recommend hiring a car for getting around - Wicklow Mountains National Park is an easy hour’s drive and was stunning. All in all a brilliant stay - thank you Fiona!

Hi, the rooms are charged per room but only to one party. If you would like two rooms please book for three people. Breakfast of cereal, fresh coffee and a selection of teas are included for guests to help themselves at their leisure in the kitchen upstairs. Wexford town is ten minutes walk with plenty of good pubs and restaurants within easy reach. Currocloe beech and Johnstown Castle are about 20 minutes in the car, there is public transport but it's not that regular.
  • It’s a lovely house and close to town centre. I would book it again if I’m visiting Wexford next time.

Kilmallock House is our 300 year old home steeped in history, located in the heart of Ireland's Ancient East. Kilmallock is a rustic style farmhouse which oozes old world charm and period features, we feel privileged to be passing through!
Kilmallock House is surrounded by farmland & animals with stone cut stables, outbuildings and a courtyard. The house is split into 2 wings. We live in one side and the other wing is totally independent for our guests to enjoy. Kilmallock House and gardens are immersed in mature trees lending itself to a secluded & tranquil retreat. There is a south west facing sun terrace with a BBQ area outside the Airbnb space for guests (a small BBQ is available to use, stored in your pantry). We have 3 hens in the orchard. Guests can avail of fresh eggs daily, if desired.
Local amenities - Horse riding, Surfing, Curracloe beach (with surfing school) and many other blue flag beaches close by (Curracloe beach featured in the movie 'Saving Private Ryan' & has been voted the Irish Independent Readers Choice best beach in Ireland for 2019), Monart Spa, fishing, Wexford horse racing, golf, forest walks, pubs/restaurants hosting traditional music & craic in Wexford town, famous fish restaurants in Wexford & Kilmore Quay with trips to The Saltee Islands (birds/seal sanctuary). Birdwatchers can avail of the Wexford Wildfowl Reserve and there are many varieties of birds in our own garden. The annual Wexford Opera is a popular event hosted in October. Also, Wexford Arts Centre runs theatre, art, comedy and music gigs throughout the year. There are many historical sites throughout Wexford County listed on the Ancient East website.
  • Lovely house, very clean and beautifully presented property.

  • Michael and Louise's house is beautiful. We spent three nights there with our young daughter and it was perfect for a relaxing getaway. The house has been beautifully and tastefully restored - it's both spacious and cosy. There's also a Iovely garden for strolling around. The house had everything we needed for our stay. There were a few breakfast treats on our arrival, which was a lovely touch, and we also got to sample the delicious fresh eggs from the hens. The stunning Curracloe beach is a short drive away, as is Wexford town - both are well worth a visit. Michael and Louise were very welcoming - we would highly recommend a stay there and we hope to come back ourselves.

  • If you are looking for a home away from home, this is the place! You have the peace and quiet of the beautiful country side and yet just a drive away from wexford town, beaches and all the great local amenities. The grounds of the farm house are like something from a post card!! And the hosts are brilliant, very friendly. All round 5 stars!

  • My wife and I had originally planned to stay in Dublin. But I had always envisioned vacationing in the Irish countryside. This farmhouse in Wexford county was absolutely perfect. It was so quiet, peaceful, and beautiful that we just stayed "home" most of our stay instead of venturing out for shopping or tours in neighboring towns. The town of Ballymurn is about 1 km (15 minute walk or 2 minute drive) from the farmhouse. We got some food and snacks from the convenience store for cooking at the house. We had a drink at the Anvil where we found a friendly atmosphere of locals stopping by for a drink and company on their way home from work. Reminded me of "Cheers" and was not rowdy at all. We ate at the restaurant/bar inside the Slaney Inn in the town of Oilgate (7 minute drive). The food was good and everyone was very nice. On that note, everyone we met on our vacation was friendly and courteous. A note on dining, if you want to eat out after 6 pm, you will probably need to drive to drive to Wexford or Enniscorthy. Each is about 20 minutes away. We had intended to tour castles, etc., but we enjoyed relaxing at the house. My wife and i are dog people so it was nice having Tiggy there to greet us in the mornings and upon our return from outings. He is very sweet. He appreciates attention but is not pushy or obnoxious. Louise gave us thorough walkthrough of our accommodations upon our arrival and was always there to help with any needs. This place is highly recommended if you need a place to get away from it all and relax.

  • Michael & Louise’s house was amazing, we had a fantastic week at it, our young daughter loved the big garden, the chickens and especially Tiggy the dog. It’s a beautiful house with everything we needed, the most relaxing place we have got to stay in for a while, we would recommend it to anyone.

Beautiful tree house with amazing views as seen on RTÉ's "The Big DIY Challenge". Enjoy a hilltop sunset over southern Ireland or watch a rainstorm pass over the fields from an elevated cozy site. Light a romantic fire in the wood stove and enjoy a glass of wine whilst taking in the views from multiple oversized windows. Stargaze from the loft bed through a large skylight. Enjoy grabbing an apple from the deck set within the apple trees which connects the tree house to the matching bathroom pod.
The tree house is cleverly designed, it incorporates function and style seamlessly. It wasn't just built for functionality it was carefully thought out from it's white washed wooden walls which give it a clean crisp feel to the gloss kitchen cabinets that add modern touch. You can open it up with the large hatch window that turns the kitchen counter into a inside/outside bar or close up the double glazed windows and light the fire which provides a beautiful ambiance and quickly heats the tree house. It's fully insulated and has modern electrics, the sockets all have USB plugs built in. There is also a electric heater if you don't want to light the wood stove and a Bluetooth speaker which easily connects to all phones so you can play a bit of your favorite music. Kitchen has mini fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave and coffee machine all accessible but hidden out of sight. Breakfast is Continental style and all stocked in the tree house before your arrival for you to enjoy at your leisure. The bathroom even though it's two meters off the ground has a fully tiled floor, normal toilet, sink and large two person shower with rainfall shower head. Two huge windows in the shower make you feel like your in the wilderness but because of the bathroom pods height and location it's completely private. Bathrobes are provided for your comfort but we suggest you bring your own footwear. The shower water is heated with an on-demand gas water heater which is almost silent so all you hear is the water. Fire wood or eazy light fire logs are supplied. Must be able to climb ladders and no children allowed.
Located in a rural setting but only mins from N11 and the new M11 Enniscorthy bypass. About 1 hour from Dublin and 10 minutes from Gorey Town which has many restaurants, pubs and coffee shops.
  • Myself and my boyfriend spent our one year anniversary in the hideaway and it was absolutely fantastic! What a wonderful space Matthew and Ruth have here, it is everything you want for a relaxing weekend away. It is an experience we will never forget and hope to come back soon! Thank you Matthew and Ruth for being such attentive friendly hosts!

  • My boyfriend and I had an amazing stay at The Hideout. The directions were spot on getting there and Matthew and Ruth were very welcoming upon arrival. The Hideout is just a slice of heaven. No other way to describe it. Everything we needed for our stay and more. All the little touches were just amazing. When we needed more firewood all I had to do was text and they had it to us problem. Thank you again for such a wonderful stay. We will definitely be back!

    Sarah2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most amazing time at the Hideout. Ruth and Matt have thought of everything. The little touches, snacks, diffuser etc! If you are looking for a chilled getaway with no distractions this is the perfect place. The view is also sensational! I can’t recommend this stay enough. We couldn’t fault anything.

  • We are just back from one night in the hideaway during an orange storm warning and honestly, it was the most incredible experience. You can thoroughly immerse yourself in nature while remaining dry and warm. This place is a completely Gem and Ruth and Matt were exceptional hosts. The treehouse was immaculately clean and the overall experience was outstanding. Thank you Matt and Ruth!

  • If you are looking for a wonderful, romantic getaway then this is exactly the place you need to book. You feel as though you're a million miles away from anyone and all you need is your immediate surroundings to feel fully content with life. Our only regret was not staying for longer! So much more magical than you initially suspect it will be. Do yourself a favour and book this place immediately!

    Nick2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great little hideaway for a couple of days exploring the south of Ireland. Matt and Ruth have thought of everything. All the personal touches were very much appreciated, every snack you could want, games and cosy blankets! We visited in the middle of a February storm, the hideout wood burner kept us lovely and cosy while the wind and rain battered outside and we watched the crazy weather from our toasty treehouse. A few reviews mention bringing flip flops, as the toilet and shower were just outside the main treehouse, which we did and they were definitely useful. Ruth and Matt also provided bath robes which were amazing for nipping to the shower! Great place to stay in any weather, switch off from the real world and watch the stars from your bed, what more could you ask for!

Get away from it all in peaceful & picturesque North Wexford. Badgers Cottage is situated down a rural country lane amidst fields, trees and local wildlife - the perfect spot for relaxing, reading, writing, creating or just putting your feet up. Nature surrounds and inspires. 10 miles from the sea, there are beaches & a beautiful forest walk near the town of Courtown. Essentials can be bought in well equipped Gorey (15mins) with its restaurants, supermarkets & boutiques. Everyone is welcome.
The cottage is private and fully equipped for a rural get away. We are off the beaten track but also only a 15 minute drive from Gorey so we're close to all its amenities and there you can access the new motorway therefore we're within easy access of Glendalough, Avoca and the Wicklow Way all 1 hour 15 minutes away. There are also festivals in nearby Kilkenny (1.5hrs), Wexford (45mins), Waterford (1.5hrs) and we're even close enough for Dublin day trips (1.5hrs). Coming in from the private entrance you'll find a well laid out, fully equipped kitchen and living room area with two comfy sofas. It has its own cozy pot bellied stove and a library of books and DVDs. There's a TV with several channels, a clock-radio and a DVD player. In the bed room there is a very comfortable queen sized bed, wardrobe and drawers with extra blankets and pillows should you need them. Wifi is free through out and there are independent heating controls for your comfort. The kitchen will be stocked with a few goodies for your arrival and essentials in the cupboards. (If you have any food allergies let us know). There is a wahsing machine and you are welcome to hang up clothes on the washing line. An air-dryer is available too. The bathroom has an electric shower. There is oil fired central heating and an immersion heater for hot water. Guests are free to enjoy the garden, a table and chairs are set up outside so you can eat al fresco and also admire the morning and lunchtime views. This furniture can easily be moved to the front of the house where you can enjoy the stunning sunsets, which can be viewed from the beer-seat too. Back inside the cottage and up the spiral staircase there is a music listening area with a large selection of LPs and a record player. Though we are happy to have childen stay at the cottage because of the spiral staircase we would suggest it is not a suitable space for toddlers. We have welcomed babies before as they are not yet up and moving and children of the age 7 and above. The lane is a rural lane therefore it's uneven so take things easy as you drive down it.
It is a quiet farming community, with a local school, church and village hall a few miles away. Gorey town which is the largest nearby has five supermarkets: The largest is Tesco Extra (Ramstown, Gorey), then there is SuperValu (Main St, Gorey), Lidl (Arklow Road, Gorey), Aldi (Goreybridge, Gorey) and Iceland (Gorey Retail Park, Courtown Road) There is a small theatre (Gorey Little Theatre, Pearce St) showing Irish plays, a cinema and several Indian, Chinese, Italian restaurants and local bars. There is an Irish music session in Frenchs Bar (Main Street, Gorey) every Thursday night. Restaurants we recommend include: The Duck Terrace Restaurant & cafe bar Katie Daly's Bar & Restaurant The Kitchen Eco Pizzeria & Restaurant There are other restaurants but we've not been to them yet.
  • The cottage is so big and spacious. The host was always on hand to answer any questions. We had a lovely two days relaxing in front of the fire. It had great facilities for cooking. Would definitely go back again soon

Wexford, Waterford and Kilkenny are all within easy driving distance, as are the 14 sandy and unspoiled beaches of the Hook peninsula. The cottage is bright and airy, fully equipped to a high standard, and decorated with stylish simplicity. Accommodation consists of one double bedroom with a 5 ft king size bed, and a pretty twin room; shower room; kitchen/living room. Nearby is the award-winning restaurant, Aldridge Lodge, and there are shops and pubs a couple of miles away in Campile village. Nearest town is New Ross with its historic ship, the Dunbrody, the Ros tapestry, and a fantastic public swimming pool. JF Kennedy Arboretum is a lovely park for a stroll with magnificent trees and views, and the Hook Lighthouse, Europe's oldest, is well worth a visit. This is a welcoming place to stay, and a friendly and interesting part of the world to explore. See also airbnb.com/h/fruithill1 and airbnb.com/h/fruithill3
Wexford has got to be the friendliest County in Ireland.
  • A quiet, peaceful break in the countryside for our family of four. Although I didn't meet Susan I felt like I had been staying with friends, such was hers and Richard's hospitality. We found plenty to keep us occupied in the cottage, books, puzzles, dvd's etc, but also enjoyed a few outings - Johnstown castle was a new destination for us and worth the visit. Susan's cottage was clean and beautiful inside with a cozy fire on the cold and wintery February days. A very nice place for a few days break.

  • Spent a lovely few days is this quaint traditional cottage in beautiful surroundings. Much more spacious than the pictures suggest! Susan is a fantastic host - very quick to respond to any questions, lovely little touches (homemade scones on arrival!) & great local recommendations. Genuinely nice lady. Cosy, comfortable & rustic. The open fire was an absolute treat too :)

  • The Stables is a nice, large space with a good feel to it. There were just the two of us, which made it feel very comfortable. The family were exceptionally helpful when we asked a question, but left us alone otherwise. We felt like we were nicely secluded. Kitchen, bathroom, bedroom etc were all exactly what you'd expect, with everything in good order. We'd have liked to stay longer. A great place to stay.

The immediate neighbourhood is quiet and surrounded by farmlands. The roads are quiet and walking is a pleasure. We have prepared a guest book for the suite which details all the local places to eat and visit to help make your stay as enjoyable as possible. While tranquil and peaceful the amenities of Ferns are only a three minute drive away. Take away, pubs, restaurants, shops and a 24 hour garage shop. Ferns is an ancient town believed to have been established in the 6th century when a monastery was founded. Amazingly Ferns was not only the capital of the Kingdom of Leinster but also of Ireland. The city was destroyed by fire and shrank to its current size. However the remains of Ferns Castle is still standing and tours are available. Additionally it is a very easy drive to the towns of Gorey, Enniscorthy and Wexford. The glorious beaches of the sunny south east are easily accessible
  • Darrell is such a gentleman as we couldn't find the place and he had no problem to pick us up in town. Lovely and cosy place to stay with a beautiful green view. Even better is the warm reception from his dogs. We definitely will recommend and come back in a near future.

  • Not a single complaint, everything was perfect. Darrell was the friendliest host we’ve experienced, and as dog lovers we adored being able to love on the dogs if we so chose. Highly recommend!

  • Darrell's house is the perfect place for a quiet and relaxing getaway. The room is exactly as in the pictures, and you'll have a lovely porch from where you can enjoy the garden, and the sound of the creek and a waterfall just in front. Alfie and Tannar welcomed us on the house, they are lovely. And Darrell was a perfect host. Totally recommend!

    Daniel2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • A great rural location. Idyllic for a summer base with the brook outside the patio. Darrell and his wife are caring hosts and place a great deal of emphasis on attention to detail. Great value for money for a couple. Highly recommended.

  • Darrell's place is a quiet utopia! Its breathtaking even though I only stayed 2 nights it was a gorgeous quiet spot - I visited in the rain so I can only imagine the beauty of it in the summer. The sound of the waterfall while we slept was peaceful to say the least. The space was perfect & super clean. Will definitly book again if needed for my visit's to my friends. Thank you Darrell. P.S. Your dogs are just the sweetest!

  • We had a really lovely experience here. It's a little off the beaten track but that's what makes it special. The room was wonferful and amenities very handy. It's lovely to be able to make a cup of tea and coffee. Darrell was an excellent host, great communication and the doggies were very friendly. I would definitely come back preferably when it's warm so we can enjoy the outdoor area and waterfall. One night isn't enough!

    Claire2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • What can say? The place is amazing. The location, the setting and the noise of the babbling water outside was perfect. The bed was extremely comfortable and everything you need is provided. Check in was perfect and the friendly greeting we received was very nice. We will definitely be back to stay again.

We unfortunately had to finish our trip early but look forward to returning during the summer months.

  • This place is just bliss. Located in such a beautiful and tranquil place. Close to Hook head and lots of beautiful beaches. Enjoying an early morning coffee in the little conservatory was a particular favourite moment of mine. The apartment was spotless and spacious and provided all the little touches to make it homely and comfortable. Particular thanks to the hosts for the brekkie extras. 👌🏻 We didn’t get a chance to meet Anne, however Phil totally made us feel at home, going above and beyond to accommodate us on our stay. Definitely recommend!

  • Absolutely five star all the way. Joan is a superb host and her house is immaculate. The bed is so comfortable I had the best nights sleep I’ve had in ages. Joan was so helpful and kind and I would stay there again if I went back to Wexford. Thank you Joan for a great stay.

  • Wonderful stay, amazing host and fenomenal breakfast!

    Anelle2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Joan was great! She served a nice breakfast and gave me a lift into town to the pub. I had a nice time chatting with her. The room was very comfortable and quiet, and the bed was super soft. Note: my gps took me to some kind of dorm/school housing. That’s not it - her home is a private single family home. So, if your gps is being as “creative” as mine was, type in the area code she gives you to avoid this confusion.

    Kris2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Joan's home is such a comfortable and warm atmosphere to stay in. The room was extremely comfortable for my mom and I, and conversation with Joan in the mornings with a delicious breakfast was nice to wake up to. Always felt welcomed. The area is great, a close walk to town, the bus and train station and all the food shops and pubs. Highly recommend.

    Kelsey2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Joan is a very sweet and generous person. Soft spoken and a great listener. She laughs easily and loves meeting new people. This is my third year to stay. I come each year in July. The house is wonderfully clean and in a very quiet and safe neighborhood.

Foley's Cottage is an old (18th century), restored , traditional, stone built farmhouse on a working family farm. The cottage has been restored sympathetically using original and locally sourced recycled materials. The roof timbers for example were sawn from trees grown on the farm. Also the kitchen units were handmade by a local craftsman, from recycled pitch pine. There are old beams and traditional real pine boarded floors. In addition, the cottage has all modern conveniences.

The cottage has been restored sympathetically using mostly original and some locally sourced, recycled materials. The roof timbers for example were sawn from trees grown on the farm. Also the kitchen units were handmade by a local craftsman, from recycled old pitch pine. There are old wooden ceiling beams and traditional real pine boarded floors. In addition, the cottage has all modern conveniences (ie. Wifi, ensuite showeroom, Jacuzi bath, power showers, wetroom, full oil fired central heating , washer, drier, dishwasher microwave, satellite tv, dvd player). Guest Access: Guests have full access to the entire cottage, patio, garden, lawn, parking and yard areas. Interaction with Guests We live in a nearby farmhouse (4 miles away) and will be often available to assist with information, recommendations and directions if, and as required. The Neighbourhood: Attractions in the area include the Lighthouse and 14 Beaches of the Hook peninsula, Tintern and Dunbrody Abbeys, JF Kennedy homestead and Arboretum, the Dunbrody Emigrant ship in New Ross, Killmokea house and Gardens, Johnstown Castle Museum & gardens, Loftus Hall, National Heritage Park, etc.. There is also fishing, sea angling and horse riding available. Getting Around Off-road Parking for several cars is freely available. Foley's cottage is a farmhouse in open countryside so a vehicle of some kind is absolutely essential as there is little public transport in the area. There are several really quiet country roads and lanes locally for walking, cycling, etc.. Other Things to Note + More .You’ll love my place because of the silence, the people, the ambiance, the outdoors space, the neighbourhood, and the extensive open country views. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, families (with kids), and pets.
Foley's Cottage is located, on our family farm, out in very quiet, open, country (near a few other houses), just off a quiet country road, about 7 miles South of New Ross. The birdsong and in particular the dawn chorus is most special. Because there is no light pollution, the night skies are quite spectacular.
  • Helen's cottage is perfect for a quiet getaway and a great location to get out and about to explore so many historical areas. It is very rural, the nearest town is a few km's away so a car is needed. The house itself is lovely and cozy with everything supplied that you could think off. Lovely touches also, brown bread & other supplies on arrival. We were a group of 4 with toddler and dog and there was plenty of space up & downstairs. Helen left local recommendations for sightseeing, restaurants, historical places of interest etc. We would highly recommend staying here. Thanks Helen!

  • We enjoyed a lovely 3 night stay in Helen’s beautiful cottage. The welcome we got was fantastic and it was so nice to just sit back and chill out in a lovely countryside setting for a few days. Helen was so helpful with plenty of information available to us on what to do where to go locally for some very tasty dining. A great break and look forward to going back soon.

  • Just back from Foleys cottage. What can I say that hasnt been said already, the place is beautiful, lovely welcome pack with everything in it for breakfast the next day. The rooms were really spacious, the photos on the web doesnt do them justice. They were beautiful and spotless clean, lots of scented candles, blankets, towels, toiletries, everything you need, my kids loved the jacuzzi bath, had great fun taking baths every night! I was delighted to see lots of books so was able to read and relax, and also a few games for the kids. We were able to bring our dog and there is a stair gate that can be used to stop her going upstairs so that was very handy. Location is brillant, only a short drive to Duncannon Beach, JFK park. This is my first time ever using air b&b and delighted to have such a good experience. I am already looking forward to returning. Thank you so much Helen and Frank.

"Stable Cottage" is an old traditional style, converted stone barn, near our historic old farmhouse. It retains many original features such as the original old natural slated roof, old beams, pine boarded floors, exposed original stone walls etc. etc.. It is very quiet and peaceful, on a small working tillage farm. Originally, it was the stable where the horses were sheltered and fed for the winter months while the wheat, feed oats etc was stored on the loft overhead.
"Stable Cottage", has been converted sympathetically, using mostly original and some locally sourced, recycled, materials. The roof timbers, for example, were sawn from old pine trees grown nearby, on the farm. Also the kitchen units and stairs were handmade by a local craftsman, from an old storm felled ash tree. Some sections of the old original stone walls are still exposed inside, in the kitchen/ living and bedroom areas. The cottage has all modern conveniences (ie Strong Wifi, Power Shower, washer, drier, full size cooker, dishwasher, microwave, satellite HD TV, central heating using a Carbon neutral, Big Bale, Straw Burner (operated by the owner) with a backup oil fired boiler. There is also a cosy open fire ( with logs, kindling etc. supplied ) for the long winter nights. The cottage is situated in the grounds of our historic 300 year old farmhouse, " Somers Fort" ( where we live ) from which Helen's great grand parents were famously evicted, during the Irish Land War in August 1888. Because of the resistance and fortifications employed here at the time, there were no further evictions in the locality. The family, of course, soon returned, bought the farm back again and are still here today! We are in fact, the fourth generation of our family to farm this land continuously.
"Stable Cottage" ( one of three Barn Conversions ) is situated in the grounds of our old historic Farmhouse, in open countryside, on a working family farm, about 1 mile from Ballycullane village with fuel station/shop, Pub, post office, Church & garage. Attractions in the area include the 14 Beaches of the Hook peninsula and Hook Lighthouse, Tintern and Dunbrody Abbeys (12th century), Loftus Hall. JF Kennedy homestead and Arboretum, the Dunbrody Emigrant ship, Killmokea house and Gardens, The National Heritage Park, Johnstown Castle Gardens and Agricultural Museum, etc.. Waterford city, famous for its crystal, and Kilkenny city are less than 1 hours drive. The Norman county town of Wexford ( good for shopping) is 40 minutes.
  • I really had a lovely time at Helen’s place . It was very cosy and the fireplace made it even better . The place was very clean and its perfect to relax . I definitely recommend

  • Great stay. Just back from Helen's cottage and we couldn't be more pleased. Good location, just 8 minutes drive from petrol station and shops., short drive from beautiful beaches, lovely abbeys, arboretum ... Clean and very well equipped, They left us fresh eggs, rashers, gorgeous bread, milk, juice anbd even biscuits! which was lovely. Super quiet and relaxing place, exactlywhat we needed. And although we couldn't meet the hosts because they were aways on holidays, they made sure we had everything ready and kept in touch with us when we had a query. Highly recommended. Thanks again Helen and Frank

  • Fantastic cottage! I highly recommend it to anyone who would like to spend some days away from a busy city. The cottage was spotless clean, very warm and there was a fire place with fire wood and coal to use. The host provided freshly baked bread on our arrival. We also found eggs, bacon, tea, coffee, cereal and some chocolate biscuits waiting for us! The cottage is located within approx. 30 mins drive from New Ross, Waterford and Wexford. The place is kids friendly. Very cosy! We absolutely loved it!

  • Off the beaten track, the Stable is a wonderful place to stay. The converted space is full of charm and personal touches and feels like a home away from home.. The kitchen was supplied with breakfast and all the essentials and a few sweet treats. The homemade bread was particularly wonderful! We even had a friendly, furry visitor Guccie the dog! Helen and Frank are fantastic hosts and really go above and beyond. We were a little lost on the way down and Frank showed up to guide us the final way. There is a great list of local sites and restaurant guides. The Stables shows all the care and attention of the hosts and we will be sure to visit again soon! Thanks again Frank and Helen

  • We had the most wonderful two days staying at Helen and Franks place. The cottage is perfect. The fire was lit when we arrived and Helen and Frank came to say hello once we had settled in. There was every thing we needed in the cottage and Helen had left us food in the fridge and biscuits and delicious bread. We had bikes and there was plenty of places to visit, and good roads to cycle on. Really great hosts, very kind and thoughtful. We would love to stay again.

  • We recently stayed at Helens lovely rustic cottage and were delighted with everything. It was cosy and warm, and had everything we needed and more. The extra little touches made it extra special. The fab duvets almost were hard to leave each morning. We had a great stay thanks to our lovely hosts.

A cosy getaway in the heart of the Irish countryside. There are NO EXTRAS on price, and lots to see and do in the South East region. The cottage is full of charm and character, and the owners are a friendly family who live just across the garden. Please note that the gallery bedroom is tiny - although with a very comfortable big bed. The bedroom and stairs make this cottage unsuitable for anyone with limited mobility, but check the reviews! Most people love this place.
The Studio Cottage is a comfortable, fully equipped traditional stone cabin on a picturesque Irish farm. A tranquil spot close to Waterford, Wexford and Kilkenny, so a great place for touring the South East of Ireland. There are 14 sandy beaches on the Hook penninsula, and Europe's oldest lighthouse to visit. Guests at Fruit Hill generally comment on the warmth of the welcome, the peace and quiet, and the unspoiled surrounding area. Richard and Susan have been in the holiday cottage business for 13 years and are on hand to advise or suggest the best places to see. There's internet access; plenty of car park space; a washing machine and dryer in a shared laundry; everything you need for cooking at home but plenty of good restaurants and pubs nearby. A wood-burning stove in the 300 year old firelpace keeps the cottage cosy any time of year.
Everyone comments on the peace and tranquillity, and the slower pace of life here at Fruit Hill. It's not a lonely spot, but tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the world. Campile village is a friendly spot with late-opening shops and a couple of pubs. Duncannon (10 - 15 mins drive) has great pubs for food, and the award-winning Aldridge Lodge restaurant (book well before your stay). New Ross is the nearest town. It has 4 excellent supermarkets including Lidl, Aldi and Tesco. 15 minutes drive. St Michael's Theatre is one of the special things about New Ross, and of course the Dunbrody ship, and the Ros tapestry. There's a great new swimming pool there too, and plenty of places to eat. In a Nutshell is a very special cafe. Kennedy Arboretum is a few minutes from Fruit Hill, as is Dunbrody Abbey and Maze. There are the beautiful Hook Peninsula beaches, Loftus Hall, and Hook Lighthouse all nearby.
  • Lovely stay, our second time and we were glad to be back- thanks again!

  • Very nice stay at Susan’s cottage, which is as described in the add. The sitting room is a nice place to relax in front of the incredible chimney. The kitchen is surprisingly fully furnished for this small cottage. Perfect location to wander around Ireland’s Ancient East.

  • I could not recommend this Airbnb enough to anyone looking to stay. The hospitality and communication were excellent. There were little touches that made my stay wonderful. These included fresh eggs, homemade scones with butter and jam upon arrival. Also Susan was lovely, she checked me in, provided wellies when it rained and gave recommendations for what to do in the evening. You would need a car to get around but that's about it for a downside!

    Amy2019-11-22T00:00:00Z

  • What a magical treat it was staying in this traditional Irish cottage. The stone fireplace filling the one end of the lounge was a wonderful backdrop for every evening spent recalling our days experiences exploring this eastern part of Ireland. Susan is a wonderful host and has provided a special space which we felt was our "home away from home" for the week of our stay. We highly recommend this peaceful farm haven.

Nestled at the end of a pot-holed lane adjacent to Rock Lodge, this cottage is a lovely converted stone-built stable block in a peaceful rural location. Situated a few minutes from the beautiful Tintern Abbey and within 15 minutes of the lovely beaches at Duncannon, Cullenstown and Fethard. Both Wexford town and New Ross are within easy reach as are the popular tourist deitinations of Hook lighthouse, Dunbody Famine ship and the Irish National Heritage Centre.
The cottage is beautifully furnished with its original old stone walls, newly fitted kitchen with marble work tops and funky old wrought iron tractor seats as bar stools. With one double bedroom with double bed I’m afraid we cannot accommodate small children. Rock lodge is cosy, warm in winter and bright in summer but just doesn’t have the room for travel cots and put up beds for little people. We are perfect for 2 people...
We have beautiful beaches just a 10 minute drive from the cottage. Also Tintern Abbey, Hook lighthouse, The Dunbrody famine ship and many more attractions. 15 minutes from New Ross and 25 minutes from Wexford Town. We have a little shop in the village to pick up any essentials!
  • Steph gave us such a warm welcome when we arrived. Place is lovely and cosy with everything you need. A great spot to explore Wexford from.

  • The cottage is in a great part of Ireland and Steph goes above and beyond for her guests. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to stay here while exploring Wexford and Waterford. One thing worth noting; the Wi-Fi is in and out so if you're considering a night in, bring a deck of cards.

  • This cottage was fabulous! Steph is an excellent host! She was there to greet us show us around. She had scones and fresh eggs from her chickens waiting for us! Close to Hook Head and Tintern Abby. This cottage has a well stocked kitchen, modern amenities and beautifully decorated! Our only regret is we didn't stay longer!

  • Breda’s place is so homey and charming- one night just wasn’t enough! We were greeted by a little kitty named Linda, and she was so sweet we wanted to take her home with us. The breakfast items were a nice surprise, and greatly appreciated. Having a washer/dryer was a great bonus and super convenient. My daughter was thoroughly entertained with the toys, games and books. This place is great, and comes equipped with everything you could want. Highly recommend it!

Architect designed beach bungalow, nestled in cove at Cahore pier, Wexford. Light filled, open plan space with direct access to the sea. Only 80 mins from Dublin - the perfect destination for those seeking a holiday or retreat.
The most obvious unique quality to Cois Cuan is it's proximity to the sea. It is also flooded with light all day. In summer month's it's ideal for outdoor / indoor living. With a hot outdoor shower it is a treat for swimmers. It has a small but secluded garden to relax and entertain in for the summer and an open fire for cooler days.
Cahore is a unique location. With the sea, pier, the Strand bar on the hill, stunning cliff walks and 20 miles of sandy beaches at the other side of the cliff walk, this place is like something from an Enid Blyton novel. It's ideal for families (crab fishing and jumping off the nearby pier is a holiday tradition for kids every summer). It's romantic for couples and a restful retreat for those who just want to get away from it all.
  • This is truly an amazing place to escape from the rat race. The sound of the sea just makes you want to sit down, listen and just watch the sea or read a book and relax. The bar/restaurant at the end of the beach is just amazing although check opening times during the winter months. For walkers this place is just in the right place - you go out the back gate, walk along the beach and up the cliff path past the restaurant and you arrive at a 20K beach - just amazing. This was out second time staying in the winter months and we will definitely be back again.

    Tracy2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • They say location is everything and that's definitely true about Ruth's house. Very rare to get a house right on the beach with the sound of the waves crashing lulling you to sleep. Beds are really comfortable and the pub on your doorstep is great. They didn't have a full menu on at this time of year but we had a lovely lunch there. Thanks again Ruth

    Alison2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • We went for a quite place to study. It was lovely and Ruth was always there for us if we had questions. If we have the chance we would stay there again.

    Thanh Nam2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Looking for a quiet, well-appointed and totally comfortable space? This is it! I highly recommend Ruth's cottage for a short or extended stay. All the expected amenities and thoughtful extras made my stay really great. The location is ideal to relax and enjoy the seaside. The full kitchen and basic provisions on hand make cooking easy (be sure to read the check in instructions on lighting the stove burners and turning on the oven!) The one time I asked a question, Ruth responded within minutes. Everything about my extended weekend was excellent! Thank you Ruth - highly recommended!!

    Craig2019-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • What a place!! Lovely cosy house with everything you could need, great location on a small beach and within walking distance of a bigger beach, fabulous views and to wake up to the sound of the sea was so relaxing, cosy and fun local pub within walking distance and great host in Ruth who was so easy to communicate with. Really enjoyed our stay and will for sure be back again!! Thanks Ruth 😊

  • This property is in a really beautiful location, it’s a quaint spot with lots of character. The accommodation was perfect. Ruth was very accommodating and was quick to answer any questions. The weather was great which added to our trip and there are plenty of really nice beaches nearby so our dog had a great time also. Hope to go again to Cahore soon. Mary G

  • We spent 3 wonderful nights in this property. Its location by the sea is unique.

    Michael2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Had a wonderful stay at this house. It leads out to the beach which is lovely for a morning swim. The garden is totally enclosed so the dogs are safe. On a clear night the view of the stars and moon is incredible. Loads of beautiful walks close by. Ruth was lovely and very helpful if we needed anything. Would definitely recommend a stay here.

Cuan Cottage is 2 miles from Shillelagh, 2 miles from Rathwood, 6 miles from Tullow, 7 miles from Tinahely, 60 miles from Dublin, 20 miles from Gorey and 30 miles from Glendalough.
  • Gorgeous cottage in a lovely area for walking with towns a short drive away and an incredible pub within 10 minutes drive (or a good walk over lovely hills). Thomas and Rita are great hosts.

  • Great hideaway.... lovely welcome and great stove... Will defo be back...

    Leesa2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Thomas and Rita’s cottage is lovely and cosy and just what the doctor ordered. Surrounded by rolling pastures and beautiful scenery, it’s a great escape to the country while being less than an hour and a half from Dublin. We loved the stylish but cosy decor and the stove, which had been set for us before we arrived. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking, and the beds are very comfortable. Towels and bed linens were all provided, and Thomas and Rita also left us plenty of firewood. Check in and out was very simple, with the keys in a lock box when we arrived, and there’s plenty of space for parking. A lovely trip, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

    Jenny2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is lovely and cosy (a little smaller than it looks in the photos but very comfortable). Check in was really easy and our host Thomas was very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. Location is beautiful and very peaceful but you need to have a car as it is rural. Lots of lovely walks nearby, we spent a couple of hours in Tomnafinnoge Woods which is nearby. Great stay!

    Lucy2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage, can't fault it at all.

    Joe2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most wonderful few days at Thomas and Rita's cottage. Fantastically located and has everything you need. Thank you!

    Sophie2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely stay at Thomas and Ritas - check in and out was really simple, Rita sent us on the details for the lock box. House is beautiful - we were provided with plenty of logs to keep the fire going which was needed as the weather was extremely cold!

    Mikey2019-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cottage. We really enjoyed our stay. As a family with a dog and an 11month old baby the cottage was well equipped. Just a short drive from local pubs and shops with plenty to see and do. Rita & Thomas are exceptional hosts and are always available. Would definitely return.

Unique low impact chalet and charming purpose built kitchen and dining space on an old traditional small farm in rural County Wexford. 14 acres with regenerating woodland, stream, pond, woven willow hut, three family dogs and wandering badgers......
We are offering our lovingly built cabins in the tranquil countryside of Ireland's sunny southeast. Our place is an ongoing work. It encompasses a private, small, warm and bright chalet and separate kitchen in the middle of a family run 14 acre smallholding. The chalet is 32 sq metres and has a purpose-built sleeping loft with a double mattress (look closely at the photos and you will see the bed up the ladder in the loft). There is also a double futon sofa, that can be used on the ground floor as a second bed for families or groups. If you have larger groups, please inquire as we have other sleeping options. The space is heated by a woodburning stove, firewood provided! It was built over a two year period and many of the materials were recycled or sourced by the owner through his forestry work. Wifi is available in the chalet, or if your prefer it can be turned off. A raised deck connects the chalet to a bright, calm kitchen. There is a new five ring gas hob, under counter fridge, beautiful hand made beech counter and with 18m2 of space there is lots of time and space for enjoying the peace of the countryside. We have three family dogs that roam the land and lounge in the sun or hide from the rain! We provide clean bed linen and towels for all the beds/guests. There is a private dry compost toilet alongside the chalet and shower use is available in the main house. We are very conscious about keeping the space immaculate, so that the integrity of the building can be appreciated. The smallholding is very secluded, approx. 3km from the main road and only 7km from artistic Wexford Town. The chalet is tucked into a secluded, private place on the land, near our old apple orchard and wood store. We have established a new large orchard and a regenerating woodland. Our place is far from the road so it is very safe for children. We have a tree house, swingset and there is a small stream, for relaxing, paddling fun. Beautiful long walks and bike rides from your doorstep. There are also many easy, enjoyable walks to take with children. It is a perfect space for people who desire a quiet place to work, think or meditate. There is an abundance of wild birds and wildlife and often a fox, badger or heron can be spotted. The main house is located 20 metres from the chalet, down the lane. We are only 20km from Rosslare Europort. 15km to nearest beach, Curracloe. Many other beautiful beaches not much further down the Wexford coast. 2km to a beautiful walk along the Slaney river. There is a small dock along the river, and kayaking/canoeing is a popular activity. Wexford is the home of the Wexford Opera Festival on the 23rd of October to the 3rd of November. Wexford comes into full swing during the festival, so book your stay early. There is also a fringe festival at the same time. Wexford also has a vibrant arts centre for performances and classes. Wexford is packed with all types of interesting places to visit; from the wild and beautiful Hook Peninsula to the Irish National Heritage Park (just down the road from us). Wexford has many delightful restaurants, and we are quite choosy! from Thai to Italian... Wexford is a slow food town. the website for Wexford tourism is visitwexford Loads of activities for children... horseriding, surfing, a great public swimming pool, along with all the great beaches, 10 screen cinema, bowling alley and huge indoor play centre with climbing frames, video arcade, pool tables and cafe. so rain or shine... everyone can be happy. Wexford is a 3 hour train journey from Dublin, the route is down the east coast, with beautiful views the entire way. Or 2 hours on the bus. Glendalough is 2 hours by public transport, less by car. Cork is 2.5 hours. Kilkenny 45 minutes. Waterford 45 minutes. Both train and bus have a very flexible schedule with many busses and trains returning daily and can leave you in a multitude of places in Dublin or anywhere along the way. We think our home and area are very special and love to welcome people here.
  • Absolutely recommendable! We had a nice little kingdom in the "wilderness". Vivian and Chris helped us with tips, communication, check in ... everything went smoothly. A composting toilet is also an experience, but much better than expected. The location in front of Wexford is great, there is a lot to explore. Any time! Thanks to Vivian and Chris!

    Steffen2019-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Very exciting drive along winding track and through gates to find this lovely cabin tucked around the corner from the welcoming home of Vivian and Chris. Vivian met us and showed us around. The kids (and we) loved climbing up the ladder to the bed in the 'attic' area (another 1.5 beds on ground floor), playing with the three friendly dogs outside, exploring the area immediately around us - woodland, apple trees, ditches and wild flower fields. Really eco-friendly set up. Inspiring! less than half an hour to the ferry terminal too

Last minute my plans were turned on their head (while I was already started on my journey the day before to Sligo first). Aden was so understanding and accommodating that my trip still when ahead. Real value for money. Location was excellent for the town. The bed was soooooo comfortable and after the lead up with so much changing, I really needed a great night's sleep. Their house (I wouldn't consider it an apartment) is set in a beautiful courtyard layout. They were very welcoming including his adorable little girl who had a big hug for me when I arrived. Highly recommend and will be in touch again if I'm back in Wexford. Thanks for everything.

  • Nice place to stay in Wexford!

    Florian2019-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • Adrians place is an excellently located private room with bright, spacious bathroom on the upper floor of an old townhouse in the middle of Wexford old town. Bus and train connection in easy walking distance and Tesco next door for shopping. Communication with Adrian worked fine and although we didn't meet in person I had and found all I could wish for, including use of kitchen for my coffee in the morning. Highly recommended! Thanks very much Adrian!

  • A cute apartment in a great location. The hosts are thoughtful and knowledgeable about the small town. I was on foot, so the location so close to the center was great. I would recommend this host as an easy way to see Wexford.

"Hogans Cottage" is a 300 year old traditional style, converted stone barn, near our historic old farmhouse "Somers' Fort ". It retains many original features such as the original old natural slated roof, old timber beams, traditional natural slate floors, exposed original stone walls etc. etc.. It is very quiet and peaceful, on a small working tillage farm. Originally the building was the cowhouse where the cows were sheltered and fed for the winter months.
"Hogan's Cottage", has been converted sympathetically, using mostly original and some localy sourced, recycled, materials. The roof timbers, for example, were sawn from our own old pine trees grown nearby, on the farm. Also the kitchen units were handmade by a local craftsman, from our own old storm felled cedar tree. Some sections of the old original stone walls are still exposed inside, in the kitchen/ living and bedroom areas. The cottage has all modern conveniences (ie Strong Wifi, Power Showers, washer, drier, full size kitchen, dishwasher, microwave, satellite HD TV, central heating using a Carbon neutral, Big Bale, Straw Burner (operated by the owner) with a backup oil fired boiler.
"Hogan's Cottage" ( one of three Barn Conversions ) is situated in the grounds of our old historic Farmhouse, in open countryside, on a working family farm, about 1 mile from Ballycullane village with fuel station/shop, Pub, post office, Church & garage. The world famous Wexford Opera Festival is held there in October every year.
  • A very cute & secluded cottage - sparkling clean & cosy. Our host Helen left breakfast groceries & biscuits for us and the materials for a lovely fire. Comfy beds where we caught up on much needed sleep. So much birdsong in the mornings! Highly recommended!

  • Best kitted out cottage we have stayed. Nice place to get away for a few days

    Andrew2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Helen and Frank are excellent hosts. It was a pleasure to stay in the beautiful homely cottage. Their kindness in providing bread, milk, rashers, eggs as well as tea, coffee and cereal to get us settled is very much appreciated. The little touches, shampoo, conditioner, ground coffee etc meant that no matter what we may have forgotten did not pose a challenge because Frank and Helen thought of everything! Best of all was the lovely warm fire on arrival which set the tone for the entire stay- thanks to Frank for extra firewood!!! The drive out of town is so worth the effort to experience what Airbnb should always be about. Míle buíochas Helen and Frank

  • This cottage is clean and beautiful and perfect for some quiet time, a girls trip or a family getaway! The couple is super kind and helpful and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience! They recommended we eat at a local breakfast place, Homeplace Cafe, and it did not disappoint! You will not regret this stay!

    Tiffiany2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Hogan's Cottage is rustic, quiet, and peaceful. It's spotlessly clean. The kitchen is well-equipped with a few nice touches like breakfast goodies, biscuits, chocolates, and a bottle of wine. The basket of local maps and flyers was handy when we were deciding how to occupy our days on the Hook Peninsula. Helen and Gucci are excellent hosts.

    Shauna2020-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect Wexford retreat - Helen was a perfect host, even leaving (delicious) homemade bread for us and lighting the fire for our arrival! We took our two dogs down for a few days and they loved having a massive field to run around in and a new friend in Gucci! Would highly recommend for anyone who wants to get away from it all and experience Irish life.

    Kathryn2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Hogan's Cottage is an idyllic getaway, beautiful space with everything you need, very cosy & warm for a winter break. Perfect location for visiting the beach & forest trails. Lovely welcome food pack. Highly recommended Many thanks Helen & Frank

    Fiona2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Helen is an amazing host and both she and Frank gave warm welcomes. The cottage is adorable, spacious and comfy - the open fire a lovely feature. Incredibly well equipped - we had everything we needed. Helen’s extra touches were more than generous, including chocolates, wine, delicious hand-crafted bread and a well-stocked fridge. The beds were ultra comfy and the electric blankets a real treat. This was our first ever Christmas away from home and to find a Christmas tree, festive decorations and candles everywhere was so delightful. And we loved their dog, Gucci - her daily visits were a special bonus. Thank you Helen, Frank and Gucci for making our Christmas so wonderful!

    Francesca2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • My family and I were there to give my parents and my son's ashes to the sea. We took the house for the proximity of our beach { landing place for the Norman pre-invasion force in 1167 }...We needed a historic, beautiful setting, lots of room, beds, lg. kitchen, etc. This wonderful old house was perfect ! Alex and Emily were the most helpful people I could ask for. The sea was out the window. The cliffs in the backyard, the locals so much fun to talk to. Great experience for kids too. Close to Wellington Bridge with necessary shopping and eats. Plenty of history closeby too. Day trips to heritage sites very close too. I will bring mose family here in the future when scheduling works out ! I could go on and on.....

    Thomas J2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely location, it was very peaceful and a stones throw from the beach. Shabby chic house that is beautiful and comfortable. Next door to a farm so there were some farm yard aromas at times but it didn't spoil our holiday, we had a great time. We would definitely go back.

    Alison2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay at Crosslakes, it was perfect for children they can run around freely and safely in the back garden. The pictures of the house are very accurate it is beautiful and the area is fantastic. We will certainly be booking again.

    Laura2019-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • This is a haven of beauty and tranquility. The house is so classy in old style farmhouse decor. It's a bit of the beaten track but the amazing views and well landscaped mature gardens and beautifully appointed house more than make up for that! I would highly recommend the house to anyone who wants a quiet break away. Plenty to do around the area to keep you busy but you have to have a car!

  • Amazing sweet cottage! We could see and hear the sea from the cottage. Hostess was kind, helpful and friendly. Location was perfect for a getaway with peace and quiet. If you stay here, make time for the Hook Lighthouse tour and a trip to Waterford to see the glassblowers and history as well as New Ross to see the famine ship replica. We would return here in a heartbeat. House was perfect for our family of five with a full kitchen and wood stove in the living room.

  • Sea Bass Cottage is simply charming, my boyfriend and I stayed there for four days and could of easily stayed longer as the there's so much to see and do around the local area. With it being so peaceful and very nicely remote, spending time in the garden with views over the sea was an absolute pleasure. We were looking for somewhere near the beach, near a few pubs and somewhere with a log burning fire and Sea Bass Cottage ticked all our boxes and we would return or recommend to anyone!

    Danielle2019-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a great time staying at Grainne’s and Liam’s place. Such an awesome area to explore and so many lovely beaches. The place was clean and well provisioned. It had real rustic charm with a great view of the sea. The hosts were friendly and checked in each day to make sure were ok and offered advice on local sites and food.

If you want a little urban action we live 30 minutes from beautiful Kilkenny City, the market town of Carlow and historic Enniscorthy in Wexford. The upstairs loft style bedroom has a spacious super king sized bed and downstairs in the seating area there is an Ikea designed fold out double sized couch bed which is very comfortable. The other couch, while it doesn't fold out would also be quite comfortable to sleep on. The bathroom has a shower with good water pressure, a sink and a loo. It is a spacious and pleasant space. The kitchen has a gas cooker and oven, microwave, electric kettle, toaster and a refrigerator. We supply plenty of cutlery, plates, cups and glasses as well as a variety of good quality cooking utensils. There's a kitchen table with four chairs for casual dining. If you wish to dine outdoors we can arrange for a table and chairs to be set out for you. The sitting room area, under the loft, is very relaxing with a super comfortable four seater couch, the fold out Ikea couch as well as a selection of books to browse. There is a solid fuel stove to warm up those chilly evenings too. There is good free WiFi throughout the cottage so it’s easy to keep in touch with your loved ones back home or if you have to attend to business while away.
South Carlow is a very beautiful, peaceful and largely unknown part of Ireland. The “unknown” bit is part of its charm. We're not overburdened with travellers at peak season so you can enjoy the area in a leisurely fashion. Our local village, Rathanna, has a population of seven. Yes, I said seven. However, the surrounding countryside and farmland creates a larger community. And Rathanna is a close knit but welcoming community. My wife and I are "blow ins" (of 18 years duration) but we were warmly accepted into the community once we decided to abandon the city and raise our kids in the countryside. Our local pub, Osborne's, is a wee gem of a Victorian Irish public house and is well worth a visit. In Borris village, ten kilometres (6 miles) from Rathanna there is a good supermarket, two terrific traditional pubs, Joyces' and O'Sheas, as well as a very good restaurant in the The Step House Hotel. Slightly further afield are villages like Bagenalstown with two large well stocked supermarkets, and Leighlinbridge which hosts the famous Lord Bagenal Inn and a remarkable collection of modern Irish art. You can visit Graiguenamanagh (I'll tell you how to pronounce it when you get here) with lovely walks along the Barrow and a visit to Duiske Abbey, a fully restored early Cistercian Church. Or go on to St. Mullins where you can rent a kayak or canoe and paddle down the river and then enjoy a terrific meal in Clashganny House Restaurant. You're also within striking distance of Kilkenny City with its many cultural attractions and quality eateries; Carlow Town which has the spectacular Visual art gallery as a centrepiece; New Ross with the lovely Ros Tapestries as well as the historic Irish Famine Ship and visitor centre. And there is more... This is a beautiful part of the world. We love living here and we are delighted to share it with you.
  • Liam’s place was delightful! It is quaint and rustic! The homemade jam he thoughtfully provided was a highlight! He was a wonderful and thoughtful host and provided a lot of local recommendations. I highly recommend his place for anyone looking to get away!

  • Liam’s place was amazing! So incredibly cozy and the bed was so comfortable. Liam himself was very responsive to messages and flexible- I accidentally double-booked myself and he was very understanding and let me come two days later for a discounted price (luckily he had availability). It’s a quiet and serene space not far from Borris town. I loved waking up to the chickens wandering around my car! Definitely stay here if you need a quiet place near Borris. Thanks Liam!

  • Liam, his chicken and his cat gave us a warm welcome and we clearly can recommend his cozy cottage. We agot some tasty bread and jam from his wife and nice recommendation for the surrounding area. We enjoyed the stay very much and will come back, when in the area. Perhaps we'll the try the trailor, he also has for staying :-)

    Markus2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • An authentic Irish countryside experience! Liam was there to greet us at arrival and made sure we had exactly what we needed for a comfortable stay.

  • A perfect place to relax. The barn is sympathetically restored and the surrounding countryside is beautiful. It was lovely to see the hens around the barn and to be able to travel with our cat. You can walk to the local village and pub from the barn and it's a perfect place to walk the Barrow, do some canoeing in Graignamanagh or hike in Brandon Hill / Mount Leinster area. Liam and Annabelle are very nice hosts. We only wish we could have stayed longer.

  • This is an idyllic slice of Ireland’s countryside. The stone buildings are gorgeous and cozy. Gardens and little pathways are beautiful and great for a morning stroll. It was incredible to wake up in this comfortable little cottage and hear only nature. Well worth the visit. Wish we could come back every weekend. Liam is an incredible host who gives great local tips and is very thoughtful. The town of Borris is very close and very cute.

    Kristina2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Host was really helpful and had many local tips. It was fun to see their farm and they did a cute job fixing up the stone cottage.

Spacious wooden round chalet in a rural setting, yet close to town, beach, and forest walks
Chalet is behind the main residence. Very quiet and peaceful area, cosy wooden interior with lots of light. Perfect for a quiet rural getaway. Fire place is an electric stove. The single beds are made up into a king size, but each with own duvet.
Very quiet and peaceful, sheep and cows in the field. Beautiful night sky, very little light pollution.
  • Beautiful location and an excellent place to stay. Lovely hosts and friendly dogs, what's not to love!

    Tina2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • I spent a weekend at the round chalet and I can say it was great. The place is pretty new and all the furnished is and areas are well made. There are 2 bedrooms, the bathroom is pretty big and shower is huge, kitchen and living room are fully furnished and you cannot get annoyed here as there is a dvd player, a stereo, books, table games, everything to be entertained while you are here. The weather outside was not good at all, but you cannot get bored here. Good to know: there are 2 dogs, 2 cats and 5 hens here, and the host is so kind to leave in the fridge eggs and jams homemade. You can also find fruits, milk and butter, everything to make a good breakfast or at least a sneak. As I went with my wife and or little 5 months baby, I asked for a cot and they prepared one for me in the bedroom. I highly recommend this place for nature lovers, if you are looking for a comfortable place to spend few nights in total relax this is the perfect place for you.

    Daire2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, clean, cosy place with lots of love and attention to the small details. Had a great stay and the hosts were, in a word, super

    Shane2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • A little slice of heaven. The home is unusual due to its circular design. However, the hosts have attended to every detail. The space is open, full of light and very comfortable. We loved it. They had stocked fridge with fresh eggs, milk and homemade jams. There was coffee , tea and bread. Wow! A stream and waterfall ate just a short walk. You will love your stay too. Curracloe beach a short drive away.

“The Barn” is a beautifully restored 19th century building beside our Farm house, finely furnished for your comfort. Enjoy a super king bed dressed in fine cottons. Although “The Barn” is private I'm always on hand. Nestled snugly on our farm at the end of a rather potholed lane, surrounded by gardens & lush countryside. Walk the towpaths of Borris, venture up Mt Leinster, enjoy the quaint pubs of Clonegal, alongside award winning resturants and why not visit Kilkennys beautiful medieval city.
The Barn is one big gorgeous lofty space measuring approx 40' x 14'. It has old raw beams in the ceiling and some old stone has been left exposed here & there. There is a large comfy 6'x6' bed dressed in white linen & duck & down duvet behind sheer white curtains, very romantic! A separate shower and toilet with a dressing area attached completes the acommodation. A wood burning stove is at the cosy seating area end & the kitchen is at the other end. The views from the large glass entrance doors show the private garden & the mountains behind.
We live in a quiet and secluded part of the countryside with lush green pastures and rolling hills, where the only noise you need worry is that of birds chirping and the odd tractor. (There are working farms after all.)
  • We had a lovely couple of nights in this cosy place. At the end of the lane it really is the ideal bolt hole to get away from things!

    Helen2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Breda's home is exactly what we wanted for a quiet weekend away, great shower and super comfy bed. We were welcomed with a roaring fire and great tips for food and walks around the area. Kilkenny is close enough for an evening out and coming back to the barn was a pleasure. We would definately recommend this air bnb, we might even return ourselves! Thanks Breda

    Shell2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • I took my first out state trip, and I made a chose to stay away from city area. Breda place was such a great option to stay in. More into the country side away from any loud noise. Sleeping in a cozy bed with the fireplace already set from me when I got home was amazing. Her small kitchen was just right for me, to have fun in the kitchen and start cooking after a long day out in exploring the different towns around. A car is a must, which I didn’t mind renting to get around. Gave me more freedom to leave and arrive at any given time. I absolutely love her pets, made me miss my dogs a little less.

    Nayeli2020-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • A warm cosy secluded cabin is what we looked for - and what we got! Great hospitality from Breda ensured we relaxed and had everything we needed.

    Tim2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • A charming, well-equipped barn conversion with a lovely wood-burning stove has been just the place to spend a quiet cosy Christmas. Breda couldn't have been more welcoming and thoughtful. If you're looking for isolation and the calm of nature, this is the perfect place for a break. Wexford, Kilkenny and the Wicklow Mountains are within easy reach for day trips.

  • I had a wonderful week in Ireland! Breda is a wonderful host. Very warm and helpful. The cottage / barn is just magical. The bed is super comfortable. I will probably buy a new bed for at home :-) The fireplace creates a cozy atmosphere. The cottage is in the middle of nowhere. Absolutely quiet and remote. The landscape is beautiful. Nice small towns are in the vicinity. Very easy to reach by car.

    Isabelle2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks a million Breda for the use of your lovely space, we really enjoyed our stay!
