  • Lovely location with a great view. Stuart was very helpful and we really enjoyed our stay

  • We stayed at Stuart's place for a month as my husband was working nights and we needed somewhere quiet during the day. This was ideal, lovely and peaceful, fantastic views and completely self contained. Stuart and Nikki were very friendly and easy to contact if any problems arose (which they didn't!). A wonderful place to stay to re-charge your batteries, well done Stuart!

  • Great stay at Stuart's chalet with beautiful views over the countryside. The bed was super comfy and the chalet was equipped with everything we needed. Internet and TV worked throughout our stay

  • Stuarts place was great! Unfortunately we only stayed for one night but would have like to stay for a few more. It was easy to find with clear instructions and the accommodation was just as described, clean well equipped and incredible views! Stuart was an incredibly accommodation host and kept in touch before and during our stay, he even gave me and my partner a lift back to our car to save us getting a taxi! I would highly recommend staying here.

  • I made a surprise to my boyfriend by renting this place for one night. I've texted Stuart the day before so we could agree about when we would meet. Unfortunately we couldn't meet so he gave me the informations to get the key. I think that Stuart is very accommodating and helpful. If you don't have a car, plan your journey very well because it's not that easy to get there. If you will miss a bus, you might not have an other one. And also you will have to walk a lot, but that's a good thing. There is coverage and wifi in the bungalow so that's good. There is the essential to live in. Bedsheets and towels included. Olive oil, coffee, salt&pepper, teas... there is also a table and chairs outside for the sunny breakfast, so pleasant. The place looks good, there is a big good bed (too soft for my boyfriend but perfect for me), a bathroom with a big shower, a TV with a really good selection of movies, small kitchen and fridge with the essentials. Around you have nice walks in the forest and in the field. We've only been to Lane End to have a beer and a diner in a pub. I thank you Stuart for this amazing place with his peaceful and stunning view. Cheers, we had a great time there !

Welcome to my new home. It's a deceptively spacious detached bungalow in a lovely quiet setting. People are friendly and there's great walk just down by the river with some really great pubs all around the area, including the Michelin restaurant, The White Oak. It's only 3.5 miles north of Maidenhead connected which has fast trains to London and Cookham station just 5 mins walk away. The beautiful town of Marlow is just a 5 minute drive and it's a 20 mins meandering drive to Henley-On-Thames.
Hi! I travel away for months and so it's nice to see my home go to a good home-keeper! For monthly renters I offer a 40% discount. I recently moved here and I love it. It's so friendly and there's such beautiful countryside all around and yet still so close to everything you need... great restaurants, great walks, great transport links and great amenities. My home is quiet modest and has it's quirks... and yet it is a little sanctuary and gem of a location. The garden especially is such a delight and even though the house is between two other houses, the garden is still very private. I have a huge sack of bird seed so please feel free to fill up the bird feeders! For long stays I move out all of my clothes and personal items so that you have all the storage space you need.
The Royal Manor of Cookham was held by the Crown until 1818 and today, although many changes have taken place, the village has made the most of its position and is now one of the most popular Thameside resorts with its many superb restaurants and inns, including Bel and the Dragon dating from 1417 and reputedly one of the oldest licensed houses in England. The Stanley Spencer Gallery in the High Street is located in the old Methodist chapel to which Spencer was brought as a child. It’s open throughout the year and contains a fine collection of more than 120 of his works. Another famous former resident was Kenneth Grahame, author of 'The Wind in the Willows'. He lived with his grandmother at ‘The Mount’ in Cookham Dean. It is thought this is where he wrote the book and it is certainly accepted that the river scenes between Cookham and Henley inspired the work along with Winter Hill above it. There are many well signposted walks including those in other areas of the parish also administered by National Trust such as Cockmarsh and Cookham Dean Common.

  • We are a family with a toddler and we absolutely loved staying at Trish's house! Trish is a great host, easy to communicate with and extremely helpful. The house is warm and cosy and it's perfectly located for a weekend getaway or to explore London. There's a wooden playset in the garden and the neighbors have horses that we loved looking at! We are already looking forward to our next visit!!

Situated above our beautiful wine shop with a pop up wine bar on Friday and Saturday nights which can be lively and sociable. We have very comfortable beds, 100% cotton sheets and towels. The perfect choice for couples, business travellers and families.

A well equipped kitchen that has lots of essentials so that you don't have to waste time buying dishwasher tabs, washing powder, olive oil and toilet rolls! organise a shop directly if required and we will ensure we are here to receive it and will put away your chilled and freezer food.
We are very lucky to live in a beautiful and unique environment. We are a stones throw away from the river Thames and there are some beautiful walks along the river to Marlow or to Boulters Lock in Maidenhead. Cookham has a wonderful friendly community with so much to explore, a destination that will suit all ages!
  • Beautiful flat with real character. Very well equipped kitchen with all the cooking tools you could need. The towels and bed linen were all beautifully soft. The overall cleanliness was fantastic. There were even games for our children which kept them occupied while we were cooking! Highly recommend, and definitely pay a visit to the shop beneath the flat! We will hopefully be returning next year, absolutely loved it. Thanks for a great stay.

  • Spacious, charming, well appointed, good layout. We stayed here with our 2 adult children to attend a local wedding. Even though Angela was away that weekend she arranged for her friend to look after us, which she did wonderfully well. We were lucky enough to be there for the Friday night pop up wine bar, which was a lot of fun. Highly recommend.

  • Lovely apartment in a great location in the village of Cookham. The apartment had all the necessary amenities for a pleasant stay over a long weekend. Perfect spot opposite the Kings Arms, next to the Bell & Dragon and above the wine shop itself! Angela and Paul were excellent hosts, and very understanding. Would recommend (and stay again!)

  • Such a charming place & really nice hosts. Such a pretty area as well. We'd like to visit again & would definitely rent this again.

  • Wonderful comfy cosseting place, well equipped, with kind, helpful hosts. Lovely location, both for food and drink (on the doorstep) and walks/the outdoors (close by). Once we'd squeezed our cars down the 15th century passageway, they stayed there for the whole weekend as we had no need of them. We hope to return another time!

Gantry Barn is tucked away in a private courtyard set back on a picturesque and quiet lane which leads towards the village high street. Steeped in history and oozing character, it dates back to the 18th century. Vaulted ceilings and old beams frame the bedrooms which are furnished with an ornate bed/sofa bed/Egyptian cotton bed linen in a combination of dusky pinks/greys all in a shabby chic style. Chandeliers, silk bedspread, Farrow and Ball paint and Cologne and Cotton toiletries/towels.
Originally a brewery dating back to 1760 Gantry Barn was converted to a maltings in 1850 and remained part of a large brewing operation linked to a Windsor brewery. In around 1912 the main house was converted from a grain store into a residential home comprising two apartments. Between the World Wars the house was converted back into one residence. The two malting barns used to form part of a complex of three malting barns and two kilns. When the brewery business closed, the barns were used variously for a village school (you can still see God Save The Queen markings on the walls) a jam factory and a car body workshop. The family before us was in residence between 1952 and 2012. Since then we have been busy renovating the house, garden and barns. The renovation and conversion of the upper barn, by a local building company, into an apartment, was finished in August 2017. It is split into three levels with wider staircases, a modern shower room, a first floor king bedroom and a mezzanine with sofa bed and writing desk/chair. It has a south-easterly prospect looking out onto small orchard. The space is ideal for short stays and remote working. At this time we cannot provide breakfast ourselves however you can book and pay for fresh continental breakfast from a local deli "Deliciously French" who will deliver it to your door the morning of your stay. We will provide contact details at the time of your booking. You just quote "Donald" on your order.
Cookham is friendly and fun. It has all amenities for day to day needs and is a great place to relax.
  • An absolute gem of a quirky place set in a picturesque, English rural village. The surrounding area centered around the Thames river has amazing sencic views and historic places to visit, which Edward will happily share with you.

  • Estelles house is beautiful...really comfortable...We all slept so well. We all loved the garden and there was plenty of garden furniture for outdoor dining! .We used the barbecue provided too. Estelle was fab at communication and check in/check out was very smooth. The whole family had a great hol and its perfect for a family celebration (Dads 80th in our case) young and old loved it. Just a word of warning ...although the cottage is on a country lane cars do hurtle down it at great speed at times so just be aware if you have young children. However the gate is always kept closed so it shouldn't be too much of an issue. Thank you Estelle Sarah & Simon and extended family

  • This house is the most beautiful house! I would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking to book. The house and gardens are huge, its very very well looked after, very homely and the beds are the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in! I will certainly be returning and likewise my colleagues who also stayed here are looking to return too! It was certainly a huge hit. Estelle was great with communication throughout too, she responds to her emails and messages almost immediately. Thank you again for having us stay! I thoroughly loved it!

    Laura2017-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed with Estelle a few times now and never disappointed.

    Ian2017-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful trip! Estelle and Victoria were great in terms of getting everything organised from their end with communication throughout. The house and gardens itself is stunning and really well setup for a bit of peace and quiet, but well located for the train stations and some local pubs etc. The pictures don't do it justice either. Would definitely recommend!

  • A beautiful home and garden for a retreat away with friends. My girlfriend and I had a going-away weekend with 8 friends here and we loved it! Amazing garden and home! Strongly recommend for a group of friends/family.

  • A beautiful cottage that feels both spacious and cozy. The grounds are well kept and attractive and waking up to healthy cows looking into the grounds was a real treat for us londoners! The communication in advance was spot on and very accommodating for our needs. I only wish our stay had been longer.

  • Great place to stay for canoeing weekend. We moored our canoe next to the boat house and had a great weekend in this nice private little spot. Hosts were very unobtrusive and we would happily return if we are in Cookham again (Worth noting that it is not in central Cookham - it's a £12 taxi ride or a 40 minute walk).

  • We had a fantastic stay at Sheridan's. The converted boathouse is great and has an awesome view of the river. It's a pity we couldn't stay longer. Sheridan is a great host and even offered to pick us up from cookham rail station when we were trying to get a cab. Would definitely visit again!!!

  • The property is delightful, freshly decorated and peaceful. Plenty of food provided for breakfast (which made my son very happy). A lovely experience away from the busy towns.

    Roberta2016-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • A high class venue in a perfect location right on the river. Sheridan welcomed us with a charming boat ride down the river (the perfect sunshine helped). The boathouse is very tastefully decked out, with a well stocked fridge, and has a lovely view onto the river. We highly recommend the walks around the area - Quarry Wood, the Thames Path, Cock Marsh, etc. It was an excellent stay and, if Sheridan will have us, we'll be back.

    Eddie2016-08-28T00:00:00Z

Close to the many restaurants in Cookham, with The Fat Duck and The Waterside Inn in Bray just a short taxi drive away. For sightseeing and days out, Windsor, Legoland, Henley and Marlow are all close easily accessible.

  • Fantastic property finished to a very high specification. Karen was a wonderful host and the gifts of breakfast, nibbles and cake were greatly appreciated. The apartment has everything you could need and plenty of space for four adults. The private parking is ideal and we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday here.

  • Karen’s place is elegant and tastefully done with every thing provided for a comfortable stay.. She was super responsive and kind and had stocked the apartment for a sumptuous breakfast... Though I met her briefly while in a rush for Diwali ceremony ..Beautiful and Lovely Lady ! We had a very comfortable stay with all restaurants and shops were within walking distance. Great Location + Place better then described + Lovely Host = Perfect Stay! Thank You Karen.

  • I'd definitely recommend staying at this property! The quality of the apartment is 5 star, it has everything that you need from a washer dryer to internet and dishwasher - accommodation was very comfortable. The location was perfect, it has car parking, 2 minute walk to a British Rail station and local pubs / restaurants are all within 10 mins of the apartment. If travelling by car you are within easy reach of major motorways within 15 mins. Karen was an excellent host and communication was great. When I return to the UK I'll have no hesitation in booking here again.

Sunny very comfortable family friendly house in immaculate condition with open log fires, 1.5 acres of south facing gardens and view to Windsor Castle, located on a country lane within easy distance of London. Perfect for a base for exploring the area, a family break or weekend or holiday retreat. Sleeps 8-10.
This is a period (1900) family home situate on a ridge overlooking the Thames valley to the South. It was recently renovated to a high standard with stone bathrooms, underfloor heating, new kitchen etc. There is a 1.5 acre garden with a lawn 35m square, lovely mature trees and a wildflower meadow with a fabulous view over the Thames valley to Windsor Castle. All 40 mins from London! This is a very comfortable medium sized country house. It has a traditional layout save for the open plan kitchen and folding doors to the terrace and pergola, where it is lovely to eat out on a warm day. The round table on the terrace seats 6-8, the small round table in the kitchen seats 4-6 and the dining table seats at least 12 with leaves inserted. With 8 people in the house the cost works out at about £25 per person per night, a bit more at weekends, and you have the whole house and 1.5 acre garden (save for the stables) to come and go as you please and enjoy yourself into the night if you wish (there is a multi room sonos system and cd player in the drawing room. There is also a media room with a home theatre system, smart TV, Sky and Netflix. We provide all the essentials to may your stay truly memorable. You only need to bring your own food and drink. The kitchen, dining room and drawing room and the garden afford wonderful views over the Thames valley to Windsor Castle in the middle distance. The open plan kitchen has everything your group needs including quality cooking equipment, dishes, crockery and glasses. We also supply cloths, tea towels and washing up liquid. Here is a description of the bedrooms. Bedrooms 1, 2 and 3 are high bright rooms on the garden side of the house with views over the garden, fields and Thames valley. They have clothes drawers and hanging. 1 and 3 are ensuite, 2 has its bathroom over the landing. The bathrooms are lined in natural stone and have separate showers, heated towel rails and underfloor heating. Bedroom 4 is a twin room on the second floor. It is also well decorated and furnished. It has an attic ceiling and a window looking out onto the trees to the west. It has a modern shower but no bath. Bedrooms 5 and 6 are extra single bedrooms in a self-contained flat on the second floor. They are much more simply decorated and furnished. 5 looks over the garden, 6 looks to the East. They share a bathroom refurbished in a simpler style. Bedroom 7 is an extra king size room. It is on the first floor looking North over fields. Hitcham Lane runs under its window so there will be a little noise, however traffic at night is slight. Users of that room will need to share one of the other bathrooms, probably that belonging to bedroom 2. It has shelves and hanging for clothes. Its standard of furnishing is between that of bedrooms 1-4 and that of bedrooms 5-6. The mainline railway station to Reading and London is 1 mile away. Heathrow 10 miles away. There are reliable taxi services based at Burnham Station (Burnham Cars (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)) and Taplow Station (Riviera Cars (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)). There are also masses of local restaurants, pubs and gastropubs. We recommend: The Oak and Saw, Taplow Village. Left out of the drive, left again at the end of Hitcham Lane, first right into Taplow High St and its facing you at the bottom ((PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)). The Feathers, Cliveden. Left out of the drive, right at the end or Hitcham Lane, Right again at the end, and its on the right opposite Cliveden ((PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)). The White Oak Cookham. Pass the Feathers, take the first left, left again signposted Bourne End. At the end of the road left, over Cookham Bridge, right at the Stanley Spencer Gallery, past the High St and common and its on the right ((PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)). There is a shopping centre with a large Tesco about 1 mile away. left out of the drive, left at the end of Hitcham Lane, 4th right at crossroads, under bridge and Tesco car park is on the right. They will be able to access all of the space save for the wine cellar, outhouses and stables, though even these can be discussed. I will be in London and available on the telephone. The housekeeper lives in an annexe and will be available some of the time. This is a pretty piece of green belt countryside about as close as it is possible to get to London while retaining a country feel. The river Thames is very close with charming villages such as Cookham and Hurley. Cliveden is also extremely close with lovely walks overlooking the river. Commuting to London is easy with trains every 30 mins from Taplow, except for Sunday when you have to use Burnham. There are lovely walks along the Thames Path from Maidenhead Bridge both upstream towards Cookham and Henley and downstream to Windsor. Taplow station is very close, however a car is definitely an advantage. There is a Renault Clio at the house which could be provided if needed, subject to insurance etc. Please note that the stables at the bottom of the garden beyond the tennis court may be in use.
The neighbourhood is charming with plenty of country lanes and pubs with good food. I recommend the Oak and Saw in Taplow, the Feathers at Cliveden and the White Oak and Bel and the Dragon in Cookham. The house is very convenient for Windsor and the Thames at Maidenhead.
  • Our second time in this beautiful home - once again a fabulous stay for myself and work colleagues. Hugo is the ideal host and was very flexible when we needed an extra night at short notice. I would highly recommend

    Oliver2017-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • We were looking for somewhere to enjoy a family celebration close to Marlow. We found the perfect place, Hugo's home. A wonderful combination, a delightful English country house which has been tastefully modernised to accommodate 21st century living. The kitchen and bathrooms have been completely refurbished and are a pleasure to be in. The location close to the airport and train station worked well as we had family flying in and travelling from London and Surrey. All in all a great recommendation for a stay in the English countryside yet close to many amenities.

    Yvonne2017-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Taplow over Christmas was one of the best Christmas experiences we have had as a family. Hugo was an excellent host - greeting us on arrival and being very attentive during our whole stay. The house is beautiful - loads of history and in a stunning location, lots of character but with top of the range bathrooms and kitchen amenities. I cannot fault the whole experience.

    Evie2016-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Really peaceful and beautiful place!

    Daniel2017-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • A proper family home and a real treat. Hugo is the perfect host, he makes you feel like family not a tenant. You will not regret booking this place. Village pub is a 10 min walk, shops and station are less that 5 mins drive yet the house is in a secluded spot in the country with fantastic views of countryside and windsor castle. A true gem.

  • Bridget’s annexe is perfect for a stay in Cookham. I was in the area for work and found the workspace set up in the annexe was perfect. To find a good size desk and a comfortable chair was brilliant! The WiFi was also fast and reliable. The annexe is so well appointed, spotlessly clean and very well furnished. I didn’t want for anything and truly felt at home. A good coffee machine was a great start to the morning! I had a wonderfully warm welcome from Bridget who was kind and friendly, everything you hope for after a long drive! I was also ecstatic to find a beer chilling in the fridge! Local amenities are good with local shops and the railway station a short walk or shorter drive away. Finally my stay was fantastic value for money and I was very happy. I will definitely stay again!

A unique and upmarket opportunity for weekend weddings, weekly commuter/commuter couple or family trip. This is a gated property with parking and two bedrooms. (I x super king plus 2 x singles or can be configured as 1 x double). Private entrance. Many of our guests stay for two months or more for a variety of reasons: Building work in their own homes, extended vacation, work or event-related trips. We also have a lot of weekend visitors visiting the local attractions or guests at weddings.
Situated in the very quiet village of Taplow. Modern and private space. High quality beds and comfortable mattresses. Nice and clean - suitable for a couple sharing and two guests in the second room. Two bedrooms and one shared bathroom with shower.
We love the tranquility, location and the friendly community we live in. Taplow is a special village in a close knit community with the village green, the Church and the local Pub (Oak & Saw) at its heart.

  • A little slice of Heaven less than 30 minutes from Heathrow. My family of 4 spent a few days in Taplow decompressing after a busy week in London. This unit is attached to the owners' large home on a gorgeous, secluded property. Very clean, large inside, and well-furnished. Huge luxurious bed in the master, with comfy twins in the 2nd room. All the necessary conveniences, including even a clothes dryer which is all but unheard of in English flats. I would happily move into this home permanently! Didn't meet the owners, but saw Roger in passing, and they were very responsive to messages. Adorable friendly dogs on the premises, but they're behind gates if you're not a dog person. Taplow has a great pub, and there are restaurants and grocery stores within short drive. 15 minutes to Windsor & Eton. Highly recommend this property--outstanding value.

  • What a beautiful house, it really was perfect! The place is very quiet specialy during the night. The beds are very good, everything is 5-star quality. And London is so easily to reach. We really had a very nice time.

  • We had a great stay at Roger and Jacqueline's place, lovely character cottage set in lovely grounds and village. Access to the cottage was easy and it had everything we needed for our stay. Jacqueline was available for any questions we had. It was great for us to see relatives close by and for commuting for work in London. I would thoroughly recommend and will hopefully be staying again. Thanks both for a lovely few days!

    Richard2016-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our too-short stay here in Taplow. Roger and Jacqueline provided flawless check-in instructions and directions, and we especially appreciated the pub recommendation, the Oak and Saw, which is just a tiny stroll down the hill. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner there, and we recommend the pub's walk of the local area. What is especially noteworthy are the beautiful windows and their view of the local church and over to Windsor Castle. The accommodations were immaculate and inviting. A top-notch airbnb with wonderful hosts.

    Jules2017-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Caroline and Stephen, were welcoming and friendly, as were others staying in the house. The area is very quiet and the room is exactly as described and pictured. It is cosy but spacious for a loft room. Everything is clean and tidy. There is a small wardrobe for clothes and a small sofa is in the room as well. There is a medium sized convienience store 5mins walk from the house, that has most of the basics. The main town is 5mins drive away, or 5mins train ride, as there is a train station 5mins walk from the house. I would definetly stay there again.

  • We were visiting friends and relations with our pet[ who is a big priority] having moved had away from the area we needed to see them again. The location was well known to us as we had lived locally for several decades. It was just as we expected and extremely enjoyable to be able to return to the familiar walk ways. A Home from home. We look forward to many more returns many thanks Caroline.

    Cyril2017-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • The location of Caroline's guest house is fantastic. The beds were comfortable although as it is a very old house the rooms were very dusty which was a problem for my son with a dust allergy. There are chickens that they allowed the children to collet the eggs from and a flying fox for the children to play on. The photo listed on Caroline's website is actually her own home from the front and the guest accommodation for the main house is from a small door at the back which is a little misleading when booking. There are common walls obviously and we felt uncomfortable hearing family disputes through these walls. We would recommend choosing the cottages for this reason. Caroline is efficient and the guesthouse has obviously been run for some time as a successful business. I did get the feeling at times that although our initial welcome was reasonably warm that Caroline was often so busy that her efficiency came across as quite brisk and detracted from any home away form home feeling. We were asked to pay an additional 100 pounds on top of the Airbnb advertised price which I assume was because we occupied two small rooms in the main part of the house instead of one cottage although it was never explained to me why we paid more. Still, as stated, the location is wonderful. Easy to find and close to the airport.

  • A delightful stay at this lovely farm house which is run as a B&B by Caroline in a very professional manner which includes making us feel pampered, welcome and looking after all possible needs for a short holiday. We stayed for 10 nights in the West Wing which incorporated three bedrooms all with en suite facilities, TV and free wi fi and free car parking. All rooms had tea / coffee facilities and there was complete privacy. The linen was ample and good quality, plenty of reading material for exploring the area and right in the middle of charming rural English country side. The nearby villages are a treat to spend time in and the Thames is very close by with a beautiful walk along its bank and the picturesque Boulter's Restaurant on the Boulter's Lock hardly 15 minutes walk from the farm house. London was an hour's drive away where we went often(parking at the Westfield Shopping Centre Car park for GBP 6-00 per day only) and then using our Oyster Cards for further travel around London. Windsor and Reading were within a few minutes drive away and both were very nice places to visit or have a meal in the evening. Recently having experienced another (difficult) stay using airbnb in Philadelphia, we were very apprehensive about the quality of such listed accommodations. Sheephouse laid all fears to rest from the moment we walked in. Caroline is a wonderful host and we would love to be back there another time.

  • We stayed in the cottage for 1 week with 2 young children, and had a fantastic holiday. The cottage had all of the necessities we could need, and Caroline had set us up with a high chair and welcome basket for breakfast. The location is perfect for visiting Maidenhead, Dorney, Windsor, Reading, etc and was a great place to come home to in the evening. The kids loved the trampoline and chickens and still talk about their stay in the cottage. Caroline was present if we had questions or issues and the other guests were very friendly as well. I would highly recommend and will look to return on our next visit.

Bright new studio with kitchenette, washing machine, Super King bed which can be split into 2 full size single beds, please state preference when booking. There is secure parking for one car only. We are on the River Thames and a 25-minute drive from Windsor and Henley. A 5-minute walk takes you to local shops and the train station - access London Paddington in 45 minutes from here.
This new studio flat is self-contained, offering guests an independent stay with a kitchenette, Super King bed, TV and a power shower. As well as providing a good place to rest and recover, the studio also serves as a good, airy, space to work with fibre optic WiFi in spades. The Super King can be split into two single beds - just mention this customisation when you message me and I'll set it up. Double glazing and skylights tune the space to the seasons, as well as cosy eaves.
Bourne End is a small, riverside village that owes its reputation to the Thames' wonderful flow. Rowers and kayakers can often be found on the river, just a 2-minute walk from the high street where all your regular groceries can be purchased.
  • The Studio is wonderfully located, tucked away on the banks of the Thames but near the train station and wonderful pathways to all the towns around like Marlow, Cookham and Bisham Abbey. The Studio has the best shower I've experience.. and warm as toast throughout! Great to have the option of the twin beds or king. Many thanks Mandy.

  • lovely flat, very attentive host, space to park the car, nice location: we would like to come back

  • Perfect in every way. Clean, spacious and quiet. Lovely setting.

  • Helga and I really enjoyed our holiday in Bourne End. Mandy (Will's mother) met us as we'd arranged on the phone, showed us all the details of the running of the apartment and helped us with lots of information about Bourne End and the region. She made us most welcome and we really enjoyed our talks with her. The studio is even better than the photo implies, is within easy walking distance of all the necessary shops, the railway station and the river Thames! On some evenings we enjoyed sitting (outside) in a pub on the other side of the river. We like to live in a quiet area and were delighted that the only sounds we could hear regularly in the studio were the birds and the occasional rumble of the local train (only 3 coaches long). We can wholeheartedly recommend Will's cosy studio and will stay there again if we're on holiday in the area.

  • Beautiful area and a lovely place to stay. Kithcen was fitted out for long-term stay if you want to cook. Bed was incredibly comfortable. Host recommended restaurants in the area with accurate assessments. Space in apt used very well. Lovely walks along the Thames and to other picturesque villages. Best if you have a car to travel around area. We were very pleased with our stay.

    Linda2016-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Our hosts Will and Mandy went out of their way to ensure our stay was perfect in every way, starting with perfectly clear and concise directions which made locating their riverside property a stress free process. On arrival my wife and I were delighted to find this spacious, spotlessly clean, well equipped property, with it's crisply linened, soft pillowed king size bed, to be even better than shown the listing picture and description. Our hosts had also thoughtfully provided breakfast cereal, milk and a more than adequate supply of teas and coffee, plus salt, pepper, olive oil etc in the well fitted out kitchen. The WiFi internet connection was super fast and the TV provided a more than adequate bouquet of news and entertainment programmes, Our hosts also provided detailed descriptions of the local village's more than adequate shopping and restaraunt ammenities...making for a perfect stay which ended far too soon.

  • We had a lovely stay at Helen's place. The cottage is in a lovely quiet village and is clean and cosy. There is a nice pub nearby and you're a 25 minute walk from Cookham Village. This is a great place for a weekend away in the country. We'd recommend! Will and Courtney

  • This was a great little house for our family of four. The location is idyllic, and a great base for exploring the South East, and getting into London. The house is beautifully decorated, and very relaxing, and we found everything that we needed. Helen even provided some groceries for us, which was a lovely touch. Would definitely recommend this house to others.

    Cookham, England, United Kingdom

Located in Cookham with its local pubs and restaurants, this home is a great base to explore the local area including the River Thames, Windsor, Henley and Marlow with Oxford and London. 30 mins from Heathrow.
Our house is great for entertaining with large open kitchen and plenty of places to relax/chat. We have an amazing new deck to enjoy the views of Cookham Moor. The living area (ground floor) flows really nicely. We do most of our living in the kitchen but have a spacious TV/playroom, which is a C-shape open plan. We also have a very large living room connected to kitchen which is accessible through a door. The living room is split between sofas overlooking the scenic garden and another set of sofas near a cozy fireplace. The best thing about our house is that if it's raining, you can still be inside and feel as though you are still outside, as our kitchen has a large conservatory. We have converted our garage into a gym, which is just off the kitchen. We also have a utility room for laundry. Upstairs, we have 4 bedrooms, so, 8 sleep comfortably. The master bed has a super-duper king. Sleeps 2 adults (and could easily fit 2 kids in between as the bed is huge) The small guest room has a double bed. Sleeps 2. Our sons room has a single trundle bed. The trundle bed pulls out and up, level with the bed. It can be 2 singles or push together as a king size bed. Sleeps 2. Our large guest room has a double bed. Sleeps 2. There is a sofa that could flatten (click/clack, not futon) and fit 1 child, if needed. We do a lot of entertaining and have had 8 adults comfortably. Our TV room sofa actually turns into a good sofa bed. It pulls out like a drawer and up (not a wirey uncomfortable sofa bed). With back cushions off, it can sleep 2, if needed.
Cookham village is a destination point - it has so much to offer. We love the view of Cookham moor. Great for dog walking, kicking the ball around, running, anything. We can walk everywhere including the river (10 minutes away). People even sail on the river here!
  • We had a great stay at Shannon and Tim's beautiful house. The house was very spacious, with a lot of comfortable beds, huge kitchen and luxurious living room full equipped. It was a fantastic Airbnb experienced.

    Terrie2015-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had our family meet here and stay for 11 days. It was just spectacular, eight adults and a baby fit very comfortably. The home is exactly as described, spacious, easy parking, good wi-fi, great fully equipped kitchen and solarium area. Room to enjoy each others company, or to get a bit of alone time. Very convenient to local grocery, bus and train service to London was easy and close. Several nice pubs in easy walking distance. Beautiful view out over the moor. Shannon and Tim were great hosts, leaving detailed instructions for the TV, internet, local sights and contact information. We found the first night unseasonably cold, and they had Amazon deliver a small space heater. I would definitely give this home five stars plus! It is quiet and gives a wonderful feel for small village living in England, but is 45 minutes by train (including the walk to the station) from downtown London. A car is useful, but not an absolute necessity. Just be aware village roads are narrow.

    James2017-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful Christmas staying here. Spacious yet cosy, well equipped and a great space for entertaining. A home from home. Shannon was incredibly helpful liaising before the trip about equipment for Christmas dinner cooking and baby stuff such as a cot/ highchair etc. Cookham is a very pretty village with lots of gorgeous walks as well as great shops, pubs and restaurants. I'd definitely recommend staying here.

    Helen2015-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Shannon was amazinginly helpful from start to finish. Nothing was too much trouble. The house is even more beautiful in real life. So spacious and very relaxing. Fantastic location too. Will definitely book again.

    elaine2016-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • Shannon was beyond helpful during our stay in her family's home. Our rowing club traveled to the area for a week-long training camp and the house was everything we needed for appropriate rest and recovery, ideal cooking space, as well as facilitating laughs and a good time. The week couldn't have gone better and this accommodation played a large role in that. Thank you, Shannon!

    Tori2017-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • Our family (3 adults, 2 teenagers) stayed in Shannon's home for 10 days and had a wonderful time. Shannon went out of her way to ensure we had a great stay (eg, supplied fans since the weather was expected to be hot during our stay and there is no air conditioning in the house). The house is in the village of Cookham, west of London, and one can walk (10 min) to the train station, or the few shops and small grocery store. We rented a car which worked well for getting around the beautiful countryside and to see our son's crew team row at the Henley Royal Regatta (the reason we were in the UK). There are several good restaurants in Cookham too (we enjoyed The White Oak, and The Bell and Dragon), although Shannon's kitchen was fully stocked and completely functional for preparing meals, which we did on several evenings. The fact that there are three full bathrooms upstairs makes her house comfortable for larger families. Shannon was very helpful in showing us around her house when we first arrived, and was available via email when we had additional questions. We would return to Shannon's house in the future and recommend it to others with more than four people who are seeking to rent a house in the countryside.

    Peter2015-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • The property is located in beautiful countryside and has a quintessential English village feel. There is a train station nearby and village restaurants and shops are only a short walk away. There is parking space for 2-4 cars in the front and a wonderful vista from the well tended garden in the rear. The rooms are large, well furnished and immaculately clean. Shannon and Tim are thoughtful and generous hosts who always responded quickly to our emails and every request. We are sure that any guests at this property will have a very enjoyable vacation.

The room is on the ground floor along with the bathroom and kitchen, with the other guest bedrooms upstairs. So it really feels like you have a lot of space to yourself. • Had a lovely stay at Jonathan's place with my family. We all enjoyed the personal tough of his home. We used it as a headquarter for a trip to Reading where we celebrated my graduation as well as touristy trips to Oxford, Windsor and London. Jonathan's place is strategically placed in the middle of these places making it optimal for sightseeing.

    Marcus2017-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first Airbnb stay. Jonathans place was so great. It was so clean , spacious and so comfortable. Beds were very comfortable. Also It was so close to the city. Super markets , Station , Restaurents, River..etc were with few minutes walking distance. Jonathan was so kind enough even to pick us at the Airport without charging anything and drove us to his place with our heavy luggage s. Also he was so kind enough to show us all the house and its stuff and explain every tiny thing what we should be known by us. Even he provided Taxi contacts for us to arrange our trips. We highly recommend his place for business and family trips . We are very much thank full for Barry (Jonathan) for letting us to stay at his place and have a very good time at Maidenhead during this business trip. We will definitely stay at his place at our next visit as well.

    Bamunu2016-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • Jonathan's home was a pleasure to stay at. The value was fantastic and as a family of 5 we were very comfortable here. We were here for 10 days and were pleased the pool was close by for the kids. Jonathan's place is easy to get to from the train station but if you do not have a car it's a good 20 minute walk. We used Uber a bunch and that was very accessible. It was great that he had a back patio but it had not been weeded in quite some time which made it difficult to enjoy it. The master bedroom is quite spacious and filled with all you would need but it is right next to the street and gets quite loud first thing in the morning. Thank you for the wonderful Jonathan and know that this would be great value for any family wanting to be close to the action of London but also near some green spaces and the Thames.

    Kimberly2017-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Jonathan's house is perfectly situated for accessing Maidenhead, Windsor or any surrounding towns. It is well equipped with all amenities. Jonathan was very easy to communicate with. Although there are 3 bedrooms, one of the twin beds is a mattress on the floor which may not suit all guests.

    jacky2017-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • A really lovely home in Maidenhead, easily walkable to the train station in 10/15 minutes and lots of free parking behind the property. From Maidenhead it's very easy to get to surrounding towns such as Henley or into London via train. Jonathon was an excellent host, very quick to reply to any communication and helpful. The house itself was spotless and had a great quirky decor which we loved. The kitchen had all necessary appliances and basic extras, as did the bathroom and bedrooms. Would be great for either a short or longer stay with plenty of room for up to 5 people in the bedrooms and communal areas. Works out very to be very reasonable price wise for the quality of the accommodation when split between two or more people. Thank you Jonathon!

    Lorna2017-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • Very quirky, very clean, very quiet and a very friendly host. The house has everything you could need and Jonathan was fantastic at responding to queries promptly and was flexible with our requests. He also put in a lot of effort to advise us on the local area and arranged the bedrooms as we wished. Couldnt have asked for a better host.

    Mohammed2016-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Conveniently located on the outskirts of town within easy walking distance of supermarket, restaurants and railway station. House was clean and tidy and functioned well for three adults and two late teen kids. We used Jonathan's place as a base for trips to the south coast, Stonehenge and in to London for which it was ideal. No hesitation in recommending.

  • My stay with Niki and Toby was fantastic! I was given a warm welcome on my arrival-which was much later than planned. Niki showed me around the areas I'd be using and her home is immaculate. It is very well furnished and decorated. It is easy to find and the view from the attic bedroom is great. The French doors open and look over a lovely garden. There is a spacious en suite with a shower over a bath and glass screen. The kitchen is well fitted with everything you would require. Niki is very easy to get on with and a lovely host. Toby is adorable and has such a placid nature. Anyone who is looking for an extremely comfortable home from home, look no further. So good, I've booked for another two weeks! Niki and Toby are a credit to Airbnb! Thanks again.

  • Great base if you want to stay on the out skirts of London, close to legoland. Train within walking distance and supermarket very close by. Apartment nice and clean and secure.

  • Host was informative. I met the keys outside the building and was shown through. The location is excellent above a large sainsburys. Workers and school children are present from 5pm-8pm and then the area becomes very quiet allowing for an excellent nights rest. The main st of Maidenhead is a 2 minute walk away allowing access to all the restaurants in Maidenhead. The apartment was clean and tidy.

    David2015-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Owen is a great host and quick to respond to any questions, the location is great as very central. As the second room is a single room with no window I was surprised as no photo of this existed, I recommend maybe having a sofa bed in the living room for taller guest. Besides that a great experience all around

    Charles2016-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is as listed, great location and parking really helps. The apartment although tidy, could do with a thorough clean and a few feminine touches.

The house is in the Riverside area of Maidenhead, with lots of mature trees and pretty houses. Alternatively, it's a half an hour along the river in the opposite direction to charming Cookham village of Wind in the Willows fame, where are numerous pubs and restaurants.
  • Catherine was a most welcoming host from the first moment to the last. She was flexible regarding our arrival and departure, and provided a good, clean, cozy room with a very comfortable bed. The house itself is full of interesting ornaments and pieces of art. We were offered tea, rides to the town, and also some leisure activities. The atmosphere was always great! It was an amazing experience to stay at Catherine's place, and to get to know her. Luckily we could recover everything Bella, the dog took from us, so it was a five star accommodation :) Looking forward to coming back soon!

  • Catherine was such a wonderful host! She made us a cup of tea when we arrived and made us feel extremely welcome! She gave us suggestions for a restaurant when we said we were going to Marlow the next day, and also messaged us that night to make sure we would be able to find our way back okay in the dark from our NYE party. The house was lovely, so was the area, and Bella the dog was just so friendly!

  • Catherine made me feel instantly at home. She is friendly, relaxed and very helpful. Her home is comfortable and filled with interesting objects. Catherine's creative nature is visible everywhere and I found it to be an inspiring and attractive environment. The neighbourhood is safe, clean and quiet. The proximity to the river is very close and the house is beautifully situated. I slept really well in the comfortable bed and enjoyed the bathroom which although separate to the room, was for my own use.

  • We stayed with Catherine for just 1 night for a wedding. The room was comfortable, clean & quiet. Catherine was really friendly & we felt welcome in her house.

  • Catherine was happy for us to arrive early and made us welcome with tea and biscuits. She gave us info about resteraunts nearby and set us off down the Thames Path from the back of the property. A very busy lady who was very helpful and a delightful young black lab. 25 mins to Heathrow! perfect

  • It was a pleasure staying with Catherine, in her home full of treasures. We had a warm welcome from Catherine and Bella. The room was very tidy and clean. Is was surely a very nice first Airbnb experience.

  • Catherine place is a fascinating, wonderful home that has a lovely feeling to the place. Will use it regularly for a place to stay when working locally.

    Sandy2017-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • Catherine is a flexible, easy going and warm host. The house is almost at the Thames with a private, almost hidden backdoor, remember it, in the dark you will probably miss it and end up somewhere else.

  • Perfect comms. Nice room, all I needed. Only a few minutes walk from where I was working and about a 30 minute walk from the train station. Stayed here while working in M'head and would do again. Thanks

  • Elizabeth made us very welcome. Her home is spacious and so feels private when staying there. It is a very relaxed place to stay and not too formal. There were croissants for breakfast, toast, help yourself tea/coffee in the kitchen. We were offered pain au chocolate and Nutella too! The house was very clean, and looked out onto a lake, a nice view for a city home. It was a quiet location. We drove there so not sure about public transport

    Debbie2017-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Elizabeth is a lovely host. She made me very welcome and she is always available to answer any questions or provide information. The room was a great size and well kept. The lake at the back is a lovely addition to just sit by with a glass of wine and a good book. Important little things such as an iron were a lovely surprise as well.

  • We were visiting Legoland and so only stayed one evening at Lakeview. I wish we could have stayed longer, the house and garden was very peaceful and lovely. Elizabeth was very welcoming and friendly and we felt straight at home. Nearby, there were Sainsbury's and Tesco's and Domino's was very close too. Which were useful. Legoland was about 25 minute drive. There was a TV room available and a wifi code (very important to my daughters.) We also could use the fridge and Elizabeth provided tea/coffee. We had a nice breakfast in the morning with bagels, seeded bread, cereals and fruit. Our only problem was the beds were too comfortable and we overslept!

    rebecca2016-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • It's a very cozy place with lake view, We arrived very late, Elizabeth was just there to welcome us. she is very considerate and made us feel at home.
