  • We had a great stay here, Jack, Dee and family are very welcoming and friendly. A great stop on our way to Wanaka, the room has everything you need and just a short walk to the house for the toilet and shower. A highlight was feeding their orphan lamb and exploring their other farm animals. Highly recommended host :)

  • We like animals and nature so it is without doubt that this is the prefect place for us. And we enjoyed the great hospitality from Jack and Dee. They let us use the hot pool after we arrived late in the evening and in the morning Jack also showed us their farm, sheep, the mountain and also the hut in the mountain, the view is sensational. It was an awesome experience for us and we really appreciated it. we recommend it to you, and I am sure you will enjoy it as much as we did. Thanks again Jack and Dee. Regards Angie and Andrei

  • Everything was so nice! Jack and Dee were really kind. Such a nice relaxing stay, super clean and chill

    Kerry2016-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Jack and Dee's country get away was a wonderful place to stop and get a good night's rest on the road from Tekapo to Queenstown. The bed was comfy, a breakfast selection was provided - a nice touch - and the hosts themselves were lovely and accommodating, letting us have full use of the facilities and hot tub.

    Roxy2016-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had an excellent and relaxing stay with Jack and Dee. The room was nice, warm and cozy. Jack and Dee were at a function when we arrived but we were greeted by Hungarian man who was living with them who kindly showed us around. In the morning we woke to an absolutely serene landscape. We caught up with Jack and Dee who are both very entertaining with a tale or two to tell. If I find the time I'd love to go back to enjoy a stubbie and have more of a look around the area. Cheers, James

    James2016-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • Short but amazing stay here. Cosy and warm - be sure to check out the farm, up the hill, around the bush, the dogs, the chickens, the spa! Jack and Dee are of course some of the loveliest people I've met!

Enjoyed the surrounding small towns of Alexandra and Cromwell. Great warm house with big kitchen/dinning and lounge rooms.

Wonderful summer climate. Country community, close to the Central Otago Rail Trail. Only 1 hours drive to either Queenstown or Wanaka. Can sleep 3 in 1 large bedroom with queen bed and single. Friendly host. Well travelled.
  • Anne is a very warm and welcoming host, full of knowledge about the area. We really enjoyed chatting with her in the evening while watching a TV program in the living room and sipping hot cups of tea. Anne did her best to accommodate us in every way. Her home is warm (double-glazed windows!) and cozy with a kitchen that has everything one needs to whip-up a decent meal. Our room was large, clean, and comfortable. Breakfast the next morning was more than we expected- toast, cereal, yogurt, coffee, and even stewed local fruit that Anne had prepared herself. An excellent B&B that comes highly recommended.

    Jennifer2017-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is a homely stay in a tidy and quite place in Clyde. Excellent wi-fi connection, good breakfast, friendly hostess and excellent shower facilities were among the highlights of this home stay. Thanks Anne for sharing your home with us.

    Maria2016-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • From the minute you walk into this home you know in your heart you've found a home away from home, and that your host Anne is one of the most caring and also superbly interesting people you could hope to meet traveling. Her home is relaxing.... the bath is beautiful and the impeccable garden won me immediately, as did her fantastic breakfasts and tea! As a host she was more than helpful with relevant suggestions & directions on how to reach places, and most happy to share her vast local knowledge combined with the actual weather forecast. Sleep wise the bedroom was really comfortable with lovely sheets and towels. Looking back, I know my time in Clyde would not have been as memorable nor enjoyable if I'd not met amazing Anne. I look forward to finding an excuse to revisit! Matthias

Their home is positioned in the most beautiful little spot surrounded by lovely gardens and a rural aspect with a mountain backdrop. They are just a short drive to the nearby towns of Clyde and Alexandra, as well as Cromwell and we thought all three were wonderful. • Kelly, Ailbe (3 month old) and I had a really relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable stay with Clare and Tony. They are wonderful warm hosts, incredibly friendly and welcoming. The house and facilities are of a very high quality and the breakfast is amazing. We would highly recommend this stay and really hope to return ourselves.

    Conor2016-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Clare and Tony made us feel very welcome at their house. We shared some great conservations and slept very well in the very complete and clean bedrooms. We had dinner together and were sad to say goodby after two night. We felt welcome like family!

    Anne2016-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second time staying and it was just as good - Clare and Tony are exceptional hosts and you feel very welcome and comfortable in their lovely home.

  • We loved our short stay with Clare and Tony in Clyde and immediately felt at home. Their house is beautiful and the room light and spacious. We really appreciated the little extra touches, particularly the little gift of home made biscuits. The breakfast was lovely, we really liked the home made bread! Clare and Tony are very dedicated hosts and we would love to stay with them again. The rabbits are also very cute!!

    Diane 2015-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Clare and Tony (and their friendly pet rabbits) are amazing hosts. Their location and facilities are as advertised, and are immaculate and very peaceful. Located within a few hundred meters of the start of the Otago Rail Trail, Lavender Drive B & B is ideally located for day trips on the Trail or to get an early start the next day when doing the whole Trail. Breakfast is a particular high point (home baked bread, local jams, delicious coffee), perfect for fueling-up before a ride, a walk in the nearby hills, or just ambling around historic Alexandra. We highly recommend staying at Lavender Drive - but be warned, you won't want to leave!

    Nick2015-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • Wow where do we begin! Clare and Tony were delightful hosts and their house is beautiful and perfectly appointed. They were helpful with suggestions, offered to make reservations and Clare even hemmed my skirt when I asked where to get needle and thread. Hubby and Tony shared music kinship and shared some tunes on the CD player too. They made us a yummy Kiwi dinner which would rank as one of our top meals during our trip. The room was spacious and had an ensuite bath which we didn't realize how much we appreciated that until we stayed where we didn't have it. Thank you Clare and Tony for being Top Hosts!

    Julia2016-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Tony and Claire's home in Gore was so memorable. It was our first experience using BnB accomodation and my family and I would like to say that if Tony and Claire's hospitality is the bench mark for BnB's then all I can say is that we would stay at more BnB's in the future. Tony and Claire's hospitality was second to none and we would definitely love to stay there again if the opportunity presented itself and highly recomend their fabulous home to any prospective people who are seeking accomodation in the Gore region in South Island New Zealand. Thank you again Tony and Claire for the fabulous stay, the great breakfast you provided, but most of all, for your hospitable company that you demonstrated towards my family and I. We felt like you were part of our family staying in your home and our stay with you both has been the best stay during our South Island holiday compared with any other venue. Thank you for the memories...Patrick

  • We felt so welcome in Clare and Tony's place. Everything was exactly as listed along with the fantastic company and tips for where to go in town. We could not have had a more lovely experience. Great memories for us and a lovely place to stay.

  • Would have loved to stay at Karen's place for a bit longer. The view from our unit was so stunning so we enjoyed our BBQ dinner and breakfast on the porch. It's a short drive to Clyde's old town which was lovely and not crowded with too many tourists. Perfect for the solo traveller or for a couple's getaway, private yet convenient to shops and restaurants. Thanks again Karen.

  • Very nice Apartment, extreme friendly host.

    Christian 2016-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Well-appointed peaceful, private, studio space with a luxurious feel in a great location for exploring the area. Super comfortable bed with lovely linens, 2 robes (loved this touch!), overlooking beautiful mountain views through the French doors leading to a private patio with grill. Well- equipped kitchenette, one of the best we’ve had on Airbnb. French press, coffee, and fresh milk in the mini refrigerator for making “real’ coffee.” Fast wifi. Hosts were friendly and welcoming and communications were flawless. We really enjoyed talking with Karen’s husband, and appreciated their local insights on where to eat and what to do to make the most of our time in the area and NZ. Loved the location, so peaceful yet close to the lovely towns and places to explore in the area, including cycling a very scenic leg of the Otago Central Rail Trail. Hope to get to stay again! Highly recommend!

The neighbourhood where the vineyard is has great views of the surrounding hills. We are on the outskirts of town and neighbours are at medium distance.
  • Just had a short stay over with Inge, but we had a lovely chat over a cup of tea. Inge is a friendly lady with an interesting history. The cabin was quite comfortable and very private and I enjoyed the quiet country environment.

    Bob2017-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • I was very happy here! It's a cosy, slightly rustic little cabin, all exactly as advertised. The facilities in the main house were all fine, shared (when I was there) with just a handful of youngsters working as fruit-pickers. Inge was a very kind and helpful host. If you're a solo traveller looking for a peaceful place to relax among the vines, and a base from which to explore the Central Otago wineries and/or the many cycle tracks nearby, you too will be happy here.

  • Absolutely loved staying with Virginia and Geoff. They made us feel a part of their family and went out of their way to make us feel at home. We arrived late afternoon after flying in from Sydney with a 8 month old baby. Gin went out of her way to get pick up our dinner just so we could settle in and unpack. She also set up a room for our girl with a portacot and toys for her to play with. Words cannot describe how thank you we were! The room is beautiful and perfect for a family. Really cosy and well set up. A great place to relax, unwind and take in the beautiful scenery. The balcony overlooks their acreage (our little girl loved looking at the sheep!). A great spread for breakfast and very comfortable bed. Everything was clean, neat and tidy which made us feel so comfortable. We will definately be staying for longer next time we are in Queenstown. Thank you again Gin and Geoff.

  • Awesome place to stay if you want quiet away from the hype of Queenstown

    Logan2017-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • This place is like having your own contained unit - it has everything. My daughter (12) and I stayed the night before starting the Otago Rail trail cycle trip and it was just perfect. This private 2 bedroom unit, attached to the lovely main home, is large and cozy. There is a beautiful bathroom and shower, heatpump and the most comfortable chairs in the living area to just chill out. There is a separate entrance for guests and a private deck overlooking the gorgeous Otago scenery and the Rail Trail - you can just sit on the deck, enjoy a lovely glass of wine and watch the cyclists go by. We were there in autumn and the weather and foliage was spectacular. Virginia and her husband are terrific hosts and we're very thankful they opened their lovely home to us. Virginia even stocked the mini fridge with many homemade goodies, in addition to everything necessary for a lovely breakfast. Wonderful stay and we would totally recommend this lovely accommodation.

  • I really enjoyed my stay at Rockview. The hosts were super friendly, helpful and interesting and the room was spacious and welcoming. Extra luxuries like fresh flowers, chocolates on the pillow and a variety of home made treats waiting in the room fridge made my stay really special. I wish I could have stayed longer and will definitely try to come back.

    Patrick2016-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Incredible place and hosts, and superb value! This was my first airbnb experience, and I will say goodbye to hotels / motels! Very spacious, clean, and comfortable loft with separate entrance. Virginia put in a thoughtful breakfast for us in the fridge inside the room, for us to try different local produce. We wished we stayed longer to explore the bicycle trail, and is a great place to stay enroute from Mt Cook / Lake Tekapo to Queenstown. Highly recommended!

  • Denise's lovely little cottage was a delight, from the pretty garden setting to the attractive period interior filled with modern amenities interspersed with intriguing historic features. Inside was warm and cosy and great in colder weather, but an attractive outdoor setting and bbq would make it an equally good summer stay. Great location amid farms selling local produce, also very handy for exploring Central Otago. Denise was a thoughtful and helpful host and I would definitely stay there again.

    Jane2017-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • This delightful historic cottage has a beautiful French decor and offers great comfort for one or two people with a large, private outdoor space including BBQ, table and plenty of chairs . Denise's welcome was warm and informative with fresh local stone fruit, homemade jam and a bottle of locally produced wine as added extras. If you are after peace and quiet in the outstanding Central Otago landscape, then look no further. If you want more excitement that is not far away. I will be back!

  • We had a tremendous amount of fun staying with Trish and Alan. We were only a short walk from town and I am glad we lucked out with their place. It is well appointed but the real highlight was the company. Great conversation and all of the knowledge they have in the area. Alan is a registered tour guide with licenses in what seemed everything. Wine tours, fishing, boating and 4wd trekking just to name a few. Really appreciated the game of golf and the bottle of wine we got of you was a ripper. Looking forward to head back and visit!

  • Catherine and Steve were the kindest hosts! Their Airbnb was spectacular with a peaceful outdoor meadow with sheep, pond and gorgeous walkways lined with roses and flowers. The place was amazing with spacious relaxing rooms, fireplace, great kitchen and bathroom. The highlight was being able to bottlefeed a baby lamb they were caring for! Catherine brought out bikes and helmets when she learned we were interested in biking. I cannot wait to go back to this lovely Airbnb. Thank you for a special stay.

  • Catherine made our stay at Last Chance Lodge so memorable and special. She allowed us to bottle feed their baby lamb and it was a huge highlight of my experience in New Zealand. Last Chance Lodge was an incredible place with an amazing amount of space, beautifully decorated, super comfortable beds with an electric blanket if needed, great kitchen and bathroom. Catherine had a fire prepared if we wanted one and brought out two bikes and helmets when she learned we were interested in biking. One of the best parts of this place was the amazing yard with gorgeous roses and other flowers everywhere along with the meadows and sheep. We all want to come back and spend more time in this paradise!

We are around the corner from The Orchard Garden if you need accommodation while attending a function there. Cyclist Walker Runner? We are close to the rail trail and many Department of Conservation Areas which are fun to explore. Our local I site in Alexandra has all the information about these places. Bird Watcher? If you are a bird watcher we have fantails bell birds and tuis here on the property at various times of the year. You may also be able to identify other birds on the property. Fisherman? If you like to fish the Roxburgh dam is a great place to fish for salmon I hear. The Lake Dunstan is just up the road too. History Lover ? Our property has an historic building on it built by Jean Desiree Feraud who later became the mayor of Clyde. He grew grapes on the property in the late 1800's. It is partially restored. We are located near Clyde which has a gorgeous historic street and an increasing range of specialty shops. Artist? There are many local artists and a local arts trail to follow? Wine or beer lover? There are wineries wine trails and ale trails too for the lover of liquids & internationally renown wine makers locally. Please ask for more information
Our neighbourhood is made up of homes on lifestyle blocks. Clyde is about 3 kilometeres away and Alexandra 8 kilometeres away. There is a New World Supermaket in Alexandra and a Four Square convenience store in Clyde. There are restaurants in both townships, There is an Information site at the museum in Alexandra.
  • Pip was a warm, welcoming host. The cottage is private and separate from main house, with scenic views, equipped with everything one could need (small kitchen area, wifi, bathroom and shower, TV etc). The garden and grounds of her property are really special and walkable, and the house is located close to some great places to eat just down the road (recommend the "Post Office" restaurant.

  • We enjoyed our stay in Clyde very much. Hope to come back again.

  • The place was beautiful, quiet and with a landscape of greenery, wide and spacious. The outhouse we stayed in was cozy and comfy, and the hosts were very warm, friendly, helpful, and willing to help us out. It has been a most pleasant stay.

  • This is a beautiful building and home. pip is a great host. What a beautiful experience! The place is exactly as you see in the photos - incredible house and i would say its really near the town. Once you've found it you'll appreciate it's isolation - you feel like you have your private space. i mean its always private but the same time the host are really helpful if you need help. Bed and bath all you need. no issues at all. Would come back in a heartbeat and could not recommend it enough.

Nestled in the heart of Central, the Old Court House is situated in ‘down town’ Clyde. The building dates back to 1868, with its original shist stone work, the house simply oozes history & charm.
The Old Court House is our home. we've decided to let the property whilst we are on holiday, so this really is a one off chance to experience such a unique property. With Alexandra just a 7 minute drive and Cromwell 15 mins you really do have everything on your door step; however should you fancy a spot of shopping, boating or extreme activities Wanaka and Queenstown are just an hours drive away.
The house is situated just a minutes walk from the village centre where you can experience fine dinning at its best at Oliver's, lunch at the Merchants cafe and deli, grab a coffee at the Bank Cafe, have a browse at Touch Yarns, purchase locally produce at the Galleria or some find something to throw on the barbie down Sausage Alley. If you don't fancy cooking (the kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need to whip up a gourmet feast) you can stroll round the village and take your pick of local restaurants to dine in. Fancy a movie? no worries! Just head to the local cinema! or maybe a spot of wine tasting & don't fancy the drive out to The Gibbstone??.... The Alexandra basin boasts some fantastic vineyards
  • It was such a pleasure to stay at this Old Court house!!! Very inspiring and artsy place! it is worth to spend a night in Clyde just because of this wonderful experience! (Clyde is very nice as well!) Harriet was really helpful so I can definitelly recommend to stay at her place! :)))))

"Not-just-a-bed-for-the-night"! Come and stay with us on our beautiful boutique vineyard. Relax in the peace and comfort of your private suite, share our spacious lounge, and soak up the stunning views across the vineyard. Wine tasting and a tour of Grey Ridge vineyard are included if you're interested. Otago Central Rail Trail riders will love a night of luxury at the start or end of your trip, and we offer free transfers from Clyde.
The Grey Ridge Suite has its own private access, so you can enjoy your solitude if you wish. However, it is also part of the house, so we are right there if you need help, or want to socialise a bit more over breakfast or around dinner time. As we are not within walking distance of any restaurants or cafes, we would be delighted if you wish to join us for dinner (at an extra cost of $65 per person, including complimentary wine, from our vineyard, of course!)
Grey Ridge Vineyard is only 5 minutes drive from the small town of Alexandra. It is 5 minutes from the even smaller but historic town of Clyde - which is also the start/finish of the Otago Rail Trail. We are about 1 hour 15 minutes from all of the tourist attractions of Queenstown and Wanaka, and there are many many other beautiful locations in and around this part of Central Otago which we are happy to share with you.
  • Great accomadation , really enjoyed the view and the peaceful environment . Sue and Paul were great hosts made us feel very welcome . Enjoyed tour of winery from Paul and the wine tasting. Hotel style accomadation , with comfortable beds , quality linen and towels and slippers dressing gowns etc. Really enjoyed the beautiful breakfast prepared by Sue . Thank you both for a lovely experience

  • Over two-week, three-country trip, this was far and away our absolute best AirBNB experience. Sue and Paul were tremendous hosts, going well above and beyond our expectations. The accommodations alone were five star -- immaculate, modern, and carefully tended to. The setting was spectacular. The vineyard is stunning, and the house is perfectly situated on the property. Sue and Paul maintain the entire vineyard by hand. They provide an unassuming, detailed tour of the vineyard with very detailed insight into how they tend to the vines. Drinks, appetizers, dinner, dessert, and breakfast all receive high marks. Excellent wine, delicious food, and top shelf hospitality. Highly recommend this AirBNB and well worth the drive from Queenstown or Wanaka. We took a chance by going to this AirBNB before it had any reviews. It absolutely paid off.

  • Janeice's house is fantastic! It is modern, private and in a great location. Janeice is a great host, she gave us plenty of ideas for our stay, made sure we had everything we needed and the home made muesli was delicious! With any luck we will stay again in the future!

  • They are very lovely couple. We have enjoyed staying a very quiet place and having two wee dogs always welcome us. Although there is no kitchen for use to use, they prepared enough food for our breakfast. The best of all is about a fancy coffee maker we can have fresh coffee as many as we like. A nice comfortable bed and very private living space if you don't mind the dogs. Thanks for your great service.

  • Lovely couple that will make you feel at home. They will receive you as a family member. I stayed with my parents and even though there was a language barrier they showed us interest in our culture. Excellent coffee, touristic advice, comfortable and immaculate rooms. We highly recommend staying here.

  • Margaret and David made me feel right at home. Their place was tidy, comfortable, and central. It's exactly how it was described and more! Margaret and David were great hosts. They made sure I had everything I needed. Knowing I had to leave early everyday during my stay, they were very kind to leave breakfast out for me. They are a friendly couple who were easy to talk to and to get a long with. I would definitely stay with them again and highly recommend staying at Margaret and David's place.
