“Soda Bar is a cozy music venue that calls upon indie artists and accommodates those who want to have a good time with standing areas, a room for dancing, seating in retro padded booths and more. This live music bar serves beer and mixed drinks. Soda Bar is a popular place among locals as well as visitors. On your visit to City Heights put this venue on your to-do list since this is a unique establishment. The bar plays different music genres seven nights a week, making it the perfect spot to host a party or event. Opening hours: 5pm – 2am (Mon – Sun)”

“Only about one block west of Soda Bar, The Hideout is City Heights' other - newer - spot for a show on El Cajon Blvd. Opened in early 2014, The Hideout arrived as the latest in a long line of different bars to open with the same address, most recently as The Void (and before that, Eleven). But with a complete makeover, a new menu of delicious, affordable cocktails (I recommend The Mule, or The Rabbit Hole) and a steady lineup of great bands on its stage, The Hideout established itself quickly in San Diego's music scene. It's one of the best places in town to catch new and cutting edge bands before they sell out a bigger room. And they've also got some comfy booths to settle into if you want to chill with a cocktail during happy hour. ”

“This is a new bar and grill with a great selection of drinks and some tasty food options. Plan on hanging out for a while! The owner was the previous owner of the Aero Club, a very well known whiskey bar, so count on good drinks. ”
