Rose Cottage is the last property at the end of a country lane. The Lodge is a large separate studio flat over the double garage. We live in the cottage. You will have access to the hot tub and several seating areas where you can enjoy the secluded area and stunning views. You will love Rose Cottage because of the outdoors space and the neighbourhood. There are forest walks and other nearby actives. It is ideal for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers or families with a young child.
The apartment consists of a very large room - bedroom / dining area / lounge space, a spacious shower room and fully equipped kitchen. There is a standard double bed. Also, a put you up single bed and travel cot are available. Laundry facilities are available in the cottage.
There are several good pubs nearby; the village of Longhope has a recreation field, village shop and great bakery, where you can also get coffee and delicious snacks and pastries.
  • Rose Cottage is a delightful place to stay. The views from the windows are some of the best I have ever seen! Gail and Roger are very welcoming, and Gail suggested a great walk for us. The cottage was comfortable, well equipped and very clean. Little touches, like the fresh flowers, were lovely. Would definitely like to go back.

  • We absolutely loved staying here! We'd never been to Gloucestershire or even used airbnb before, but Gail anticipated our every need. She offered to pick us up from the bus stop so we didn't have to drag our luggage up the hill to the house. Once we dropped off our things, Gail took us into town to get a bit of shopping. Our time at Rose Cottage was quite peaceful and I can't wait to book again!

  • Rose Cottage has stunning views across the forest and everything you need for a comfortable stay. We used the well equipped kitchen to cook dinner, and enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub at the end of the evening. A wonderful place to end our holiday and highly recommended!

  • Best Airbnb we have stayed at. We arrived at the cottage after Glastonbury slightly broken souls and very tired. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by smiling faces from both Gail and her husband, two lovely dogs, a plate full of scones and a pot of tea. Perfect. The photos also do not do this place justice the cottage is completely private and so is the hot tub. The surrounding gardens and scenery is breath-taking. It seems far too good to be true for the price, I still can’t believe how good value for money it is. I only wish we didn’t live so far away as we would return very frequently.

  • Gail was an absolutely perfect host, and Rose Cottage is a fantastic AirBnB! We had such a lovely time and would definitely return. Gail brought us fresh eggs from her chickens and milk from the shop. She even picked us up off the bus and dropped us back at Glocester station when we left! There were also fresh flowers in the apartment on arrival which was a lovely touch. The property was cosy and comfortable and had everything we needed for our week there. Kitchen was well equipped, bed was comfy. The hot tub was amazing and so great to relax into - we tended to go in late in the evening to enjoy stargazing. The property is quite isolated so if you don't drive (like us) do make sure you bring food with you. There are some very beautiful walks around, and we also walked to the nearby brewery for a tour. I thoroughly recommend staying here. Excellent AirBnB!

  • Rose cottage offered everything we needed for a little retreat away from our busy lives. The accommodation was spacious and immaculate and the bed was 5 star luxury for the perfect nights sleep. The hot tub was amazing especially at night. The perfect stay for a quiet relaxing getaway.

    Melissa2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Loved Rose Cottage! This is a fantastic place to stop over for just one night, as my partner and I did, although we both agreed we could happily stay longer. The setting is beautiful, trees and valleys all around and Gail and her collies gave us a very warm welcome. We had freshly baked break, eggs from the chickens, milk and butter all provided, as well as tea, coffee, cereals - the most generous Air BnB I've stayed in hands down! The cottage is very cosy, homely and well equipped with a great TV, stereo with CDs, a super comfy bed and lots of towels - ideal for the hot tub which was the cherry on an already very nice cake. We popped out for a dip at 10pm, it was lovely and warm and with the stars all out and in the peace and quiet, it was heaven. I'd definitely stay again. Thanks Gail :)

  • We had a fantastic week at Pew Corner over autumn half term. Our family spent pretty much the whole week at play in the forest - lots of cycling, some gentle walking and a trip to the magical Puzzlewood. Pew Corner was a perfect base - very comfortable and well equipped, just 10 minutes by car to the heart of the forest. We'd definitely visit again!

A very quiet location but very near forest and High Street which has plenty of eateries and take aways. Many tourist attractions are nearby such as Puzzlewood, St Briavels castle, Symonds Yat to view peregrine falcons, cycle paths on the doorstep, St. Anthony's Well, Lydney Harbour, Dean Heritage Centre and Clearwell Caves to mention but a few.
  • We booked and payed for 3 pax. She called me and said that the room booked was for 2 (altought it was for 3 in airbnb) and she told us to pay for an extra room. 20 pounds more. We didnt have a choice becase if we were to cancel we would loose the money. So we went there. When we arrived she asked fir 25!! Instead of the 20. We finally paid only 20. She never recognised the mistake to us but the changed the add. In addition poor breakfast. Only coffee (no milk) tea, bread, marmite and butter

Nestled in the forest, in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the South facing cabin fronts a footpath that leads out into the beautiful landscape. It is situated within our garden, with its own access so you are free to come and go as you please. It lends itself to quiet activities such as writing or similar. It is very peaceful and ideal for a quietl retreat from city life and an escape into nature. The main attraction is walking and/or mountain biking.
The cabin is compact with a kitchenette for food preparation. With fridge combi oven/microwave, gas hob and cooking pots, utensils etc. A shower room with basin toilet and shower cubicle. The rest of the space is open for the sleeping area and sitting area. There are two single beds which can be used separately or placed together as a large double bed. For single occupancy, the one bed is stored under the other. There is a fold-out table for dining and two chairs. A small wood burning stove will keep you warm in winter.
  • Lovely little retreat from which to explore the Forest of Dean. You can literally walk straight into the woods from the front door and our hosts had left loads of literature about the local area to help guide us. Very peaceful, just hooting owls and calling stags for company at night. Great woodburner for when the evening gets a little chilly. Everything you could want from a cozy weekend in the country.

    George2017-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • John and Pam's place is the perfectescape from busy city life. The front door is literally 30 seconds away from beautiful forest walks, all the views are stunning and the cabin itself is perfectly kitted out with everything you need for a short break. Can't wait to return. Thanks John and Pam! X

    Imogen2017-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • I honestly couldn't have asked for a better host. Warm , humble and welcoming and knowledgeable of the surroundings and general area info. Its only a few minutes from the forest of Dean by foot, there is plenty of routes to take and sights to see, you can use a bike to travel which I did on many occasions . So glad I had this week holiday it has done me a world of good and was perfect. Will be returning for sure .

    Chris2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful cabin, literally on the edge of the forest. Completely self sufficient with a small kitchen (inc gas hob, microwave, fridge, etc), wood-burner, and bathroom with shower. John communicated well and made us feel really welcome. Lots of great places to walk and cycle nearby. We spent some time on the big, well maintained cycle paths through the forest, but also went exploring off the main tracks, mountain biking through wild and hilly forest - excellent fun! We saw deer, buzzards, wild boar (!), and lots of dragonflies.

    Andy2017-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely destination for cyclists, great tracks around the forest. Very friendly host (and dog!), and extremely helpful with our bikes, ensuring their safety in a separate locked shed for us. Would highly recommend the local pub and Indian resteraunt. Definitley intending to come back- Thanks John !

    Jo2017-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • A very warm welcome from John and Pam, although I didn’t get to meet their dog, Amber. The accommodation was cosy, comfortable, more than adequately equipped and even though the weather was quite mild for early October, I couldn’t resist lighting the wood burner after John had provided a basket of kindling and logs. Location is literally on the edge of the forest and is barely 10 minutes drive from the Cannop Cycle centre. Will definitely be returning.

    Mark2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Really great place to stay, so close to the forest. Nice Indian restaurant close by and John was a great host

    Claire2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • John and Pam are lovely hosts and amber the dog is a delight. Karen is great chums with Amber the dog who went walking with our dog George. You are right on the forest. If you love riding a mountain bike or walking this is ideal. We would say this is one if you really want to get away from it all. Small and perfectly formed. Comfortable bed. Tintern Abbey is stunning .. And there are many other lovely places to visit close by. A great relaxing stay!

Blakemore Studio is set in a beautiful location in the Forest of Dean with easy access to the historic towns of Gloucester, Cheltenham, Ross on Wye, Monmouth and Chepstow. There are wonderful walks from the house which is a short distance from the woods. In the Forest of Dean there is a bike hire centre, canoes can be hired to paddle down the river Wye. The River Severn, is famous for its tidal range, the third largest in the world, and the Severn bore can be observed a short distance from Blakemore.
I love walking in the fields and wooded hills and enjoying the beautiful views across to the Cotswolds.
  • Lovely location, comfortable and private. Glorious views over the Severn. would definitely stay there again.

  • Hi Caroline, thank you so much for our stay in your lovely barn and amazing gardens. It was perfect, thank you for letting us come with Jack, having the balcony to sit on while he slept, watching the beautiful view with a glass of wine was lovely. Thanks again and sorry we didn't get to say goodbye.x

    Sophie2017-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • Caroline was very warm and receiving from the outset and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We thought the barn might be cold but it's the perfect size to make yourself warm, comfy and hibernate (if needed). The surroundings are absolutely stunning and there are many sites of interest within reasonable distance: we spent our short stay walking through the forest, visiting the Clearwell Caves and indulging ourselves at a local pub. We'd definitely recommend this modest gem. Thank you Caroline.

    James2016-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed in Caro's contained barn for two months whilst I carried out a placement half an hour away at a local museum. From the moment I booked to stay in the barn, I knew I had made the right decision as Caro was so helpful and friendly from the word go and couldn't do enough to help with and anything I needed to know. When I arrived at the barn I felt at home as soon as I stepped through the door. Caro has done as wonderful job with the barn, it has all the amenities that one would need and everything works very well and it is so cosy to come home to after a hard days work. She always made kind gestures, inviting me into her place for cup of tea, and even offered me vegetables from here beautiful garden. I was very sad to leave the barn and Caro, overall it was a wonderful experience, thank you so much Caro, I hope to see you again soon!

    Chloé Ricarda2017-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Caroline is a very welcoming and helpful host, and the barn is located in idyllic spot with views over the Severn Estuary. The room could have done with being a little warmer and cleaner, but it is a spacious room with lots of information on local attractions available to read.

    Jessica2016-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • I felt at home here from the very beginning of my 3 day stay. Everything was perfect - comfy, clean and warm. Caroline was the perfect host, she is a very caring, calm and delightful person to meet.

    lucy2016-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Had a lovely stay , gorgeous location and the barn was idyllic, would stay again , sad to leave

    Sara2016-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely beautiful place to stay, exactly what we were looking for to spend the weekend away from the city. Caroline is a very friendly and welcoming person, it was a pleasure to meet her. The area offers fantastic walks and views, but to be honest Caroline's beautiful garden and fabulous viewing spot on the balcony made it unnecessary to leave anywhere. The best part is that it took us only 2,5h to drive from London. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a countryside stay.

In a traditional - but extended - miner's cottage, come and enjoy the beautiful tranquil setting. As well as the bubbling stream and extensive gardens you can also walk directly into the wonderful and magical Forest of Dean. Whether you like to walk, cycle, bird (or boar) watch or just chill - there's something here for everyone! Well behaved four legged friends are also welcome. If you are a golfer, we can organise discounted rounds at some great courses in our area.
Enjoy a morning breakfast on the veranda - a quiet drink on the decking by the stream - or just sit by the log fire and keep nice and warm.
Golf at Forest Hills, Rolls of Monmouth, St Pierre, Celtic Manor. Canoe down the Wye; Cycle in the Forest; Go Ape at Mallards Pike; Ride the longest Zip Wire in the UK at Chepstow; Scuba Dive at the dive centre, Chepstow; Visit Clearwell Caves; Explore Puzzle Wood and it's enchanting setting - but most of all just enjoy yourself!
  • We stayed for 2 nights, 5 adults and a baby. The house is in on the outskirts of a village and you will need a car to get around. There is also no phone signal in the area in general but thete was WiFi in the house. The pictures do not do it justice- it is an absolutely beautiful house and is really spacious and well equipped. Michael was a fantastic host - very welcoming and helpful. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Quiet, with south facing sheltered and secluded garden, wood burner in lounge. Two double bedrooms, and good sized bathroom with walk in open shower. Well equipped kitchen.
Very quiet cul de sac lane in the village of Soudley surrounded by the Forest of Dean. Great wild life, and ideal for walking, biking, fishing etc. The cottage is between the Severn estuary and the Wye. The Dean Heritage Centre is a five minute walk away. The local pub serves well kept cheap beer.
The pub is far enough away not to hear but near enough to walk to in three minutes. Soudley ponds are a well known attraction and full of trout and English crayfish. The forest has tawny owls, buzzards, goshawks, peregrines boar, fallow deer, and the sky has little light pollution. Monmouth, Ross on Wye Chepstow and Gloucester all less than 40 minutes drive. So a great quiet retreat for walkers, bikers and nature lovers. There is a cafe ten minutes walk away in the Dean Heritage Centre which is open every day. Convenience shops are in Little Dean and Ruspidge

    Theresa2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Beekeeper cottage was a real gem of a find. Quiet and beautiful with many flowers and birds. It has all of the modern amenities you need to hand within this gorgeous rural setting including very comfortable beds and tasteful traditional decor. Views from the windows are tremendous and terraced outside space with garden furniture was delightful. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and will take the opportunity to stay again in the future.

  • A real hidden gem, the garden and surrounding views were stunning, an enchanting place to be. So much so we got up at 5am to hear the dawn chorus. We'll happily come back as often as possible.

We have lots of exciting plans. Dairy Cottage converted into 2 story accommodation. Quiet location with private garden.
We are within 10 minutes of Puzzlewood where the new star wars has been filmed. 30 Minutes from Gloucestershire Cathedral where Harry Potter was filmed. 20 minutes from the Welsh Border. 10 minutes from the Ross on Wye Canoe centre. 20 Minutes from Symonds Yat . There are many places to explore !
  • This is a real gem tucked away in the beautiful countryside! The bedrooms are beautiful and comfortable. The kitchen is great and has all the necessary kit! The living room is spacious and relaxing - a great space if the weather isn't as kind as it could be! The bathrooms are clean and modern. I wish we could've stayed longer- one night wasn't long enough really! Cannot recommend this beautiful place enough!

    Jo2016-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • A delightful family retreat. We only stayed one night, but the house is well-equipped enough to stay for longer and prepare meals, etc. There is plenty of room and a large family could stay comfortably. It's a beautiful area (my grandparents lived nearby when I was a child) and there is lots to do in the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley.

  • Lovely place and lovely hosts. Enjoyed the stay a lot and my daughter loved the animals. Easier with car as the local public transport (although linking with Gloucester and Ross-on-Wye is not very frequent. Comfortable beds, good kitchen and lovely views.

  • We stayed here and couldn't fault it at all , lovely cosy clean farmhouse with comfy beds that was well equipped . Would definitely recommend.

  • We had a wonderful stay. The cottage is cosy with a log burner, a spacious kitchen and lovey bedrooms. It's a great location for exploring the Forest of Dean. The children enjoyed looking at the farm animals too. We would definitely return!

  • We had a great stay in The Dairy! So brilliant being on the farm, right near the farm shop! We walked round the farm, were able to pick up fresh eggs for our breakfast, pick some rocket to go with our scrambled eggs. Fed the goats and the geese! The house was spacious and nicely done! Only one small negative was that some essentials were missing from the kitchen, like a chopping board and baking trays. However we mentioned the chopping board in the shop, and were given one straight away to use. Its a really exciting project that Simon is running at the farm!

Ruardean is a typical Forest of Dean village with a interesting history including Horlicks of the famed malted drink. It has a post office, petrol station, farm shop/cafe (200m). The local pub 'The Malt Shovel Inn' dates back many centuries and is old fashioned in approach but very friendly. The Forest is easily accessible and Puzzle Wood (Star Wars, Merlin etc) is about 15 mins away by car (Coleford). The cottage is an ideal hub for the Forest but remember Gloucester, Cardiff, Cheltenham, Monmouth or Hereford are all well within a short car trip... should the peace or all of the Forest's outside activities prove too much to bear.

  • Anne's Cottage is a great place to stay for anyone looking to explore the Forest of Dean. We found the cottage to be a lovely, comfortable and relaxing place. It was very clean and well equipped. The sun room gave extra space to relax in. Anne and Rick are very friendly and welcoming hosts who happily gave advice on places to visit and how to get there. All contact with them concerning the booking and arrival details was effortless and hassle-free. Would definitely stay here again and can certainly recommend Anne's Cottage to anyone else looking to stay in the area.

  • We had a wonderful time at Mireystock House for my friends Hen do. The house was perfect for a weekend of both relaxation and fun! The games room was the perfect space for playing our favourite songs and the pool was a lovely area to relax. The steam shower was a great added bonus. Lucy was incredibly helpful with recommendations and being on hand when we had any questions. The whole set up is really professional and the lovely welcome basket and card for the bride was amazing! Thanks Lucy!

    Mel2016-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Mireystock House for a weekend hen do. Lucy was absolutely fabulous is helping us prepare for this and gave great advice about the surrounding area and activities. She went above and beyond to help us prepare and make this the best weekend. The card for the bride to be in the hamper was such a lovely touch. All of the hens were blown away by the house - it was so beautiful and all of the rooms are lovely. There were so many comments around how comfy the beds were! The bar was the perfect party area, with excellent sound system, fridges and dishwasher. The pool was the perfect size for a game of beach ball volley and a good temperature! The house is in a perfect location. We arrived early and drove 5mins down the road for a pub lunch. Our hen activity was Laser Ops at Syomonds Yat, only a 10min drive away (best game EVER!) and our evening out was tapas at the lively Ritmo Tapas bar in Coleford, 5mins away. We just wish we had longer to explore the forest, cycle, canoe and have a go at go ape, all of which were available within a 5min drive of the house. Lorraine from Body Holistics came to give a variety of massages. She set up a lovely experience in the living room with candles and music and gave a wonderful massage. Just what we needed after our intense SAS missions at Laser Ops! This was the perfect weekend and the bride to be was so happy with her hen do. Thank you Lucy for all your help, hopefully we will see you again and we will definitely recommend you to all our friends and family!

  • Had an amazing stay at Lucy's house. Lucy made us feel incredibly welcome, and was on hand for anything we needed. Best weekend ever!

    Caroline2016-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • Mireystock House had everything we needed for a fab weekend away. The kids loved the pool, and the games room was fantastic for kids and adults alike! Karaoke and dancing after a few drinks has provided some funny memories! Everything you might need was supplied including towels. We loved the house so much that we didn't leave it the whole weekend! Lucy kept in touch at all points throughout the booking and our stay. Our group was 6 adults, 4 kids and a baby, it was suitable for all!

    Joanna2017-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Very, very big house, lots of space and can cater to all types of party. Lucy is great and very helpful.

  • We stayed at Mireystock House for a weekend to celebrate my 30th birthday. I can not recommend this listing enough. Right from the start Lucy was helpful and answered all questions. The communication was speedy and check in was smooth. The house itself is so well equipped we really appreciated the extra touches such as bath robes, steam room, hamper (and birthday card) and even hair ties in the bathroom! The information on local walks was helpful and the one we did was lovely. We had the most amazing time and would recommend to anyone! Thanks Sophie

    sophie2016-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • Mireystock was perfect for our long weekend (two families with small kids and grandparents). The house accommodated us all very comfortably. The surrounding woods hold endless possibilities for adventure and in late October were truly stunning. The pool and games room provided entertainment the rest of the time and for any rainy days.

    Dinah2016-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • This beautiful home offers a great location for a restful break. And it would be possible to simply stay in the house using all the facilities without venturing out of the gates. However if you do venture out there's loads to do. For the active there's cycling in the gorgeous forest, walks abound, camping at Symonds Yat (what is a Yat?) and there is a village close by to catch up on local gossip and buy comestibles. Ross and Monmouth are but a short drive away and Lydney too; don't forget to drive to Lydney Harbour. Lucy is the perfect host and kept in contact throughout our stay, answering questions and helping with local hints of things to do (or in my case not to do!) Best day out was a 40 minute drive to Big Pit in Blaenavon a humbling and brilliant mining experience. Another high point was Joshua's Catering who came to us, cooked and served a superb dinner - truly a Downton moment! Ok so broadband was slow and phone signal weak - but who cares! A brilliant week - undoubtedly we' ll be back k!

Quirky 17th century cottage tucked away in a village in beautiful Gloucestershire, beside the picturesque River Severn. Comfortable, full of character, fully furnished for five with central heating, freesat TV, wifi, private courtyard garden and BBQ.
The Farthings is a unique mews cottage built in about 1670. It is cosy with low ceilings and thick oak beams. It has been fully renovated to provide comfortable, safe accommodation in The Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire. An area of beautiful countryside, ideal for walking, hiking, exploring, cycling or just chilling out!
Newnham is a village situation on the banks of the RIver Severn. There are lovely walks all around the area as it is very rural. The village itself is friendly and bustling with several shops, a local butcher, hairdresser, greengrocers, play parks for children, two good pubs and within easy reach of the historic cities of Gloucester, Chepstow on the Welsh border and Cheltenham and the small towns and villages of the Forest of Dean
  • Beautiful, large, centrally located (in a tiny village). I plan on returning sooner than later. Highly recommended for a quiet visit with as much or as little social interaction as you wish.

  • We loved Karen's place! It is a wonderful cozy cottage in a small village. The cottage has a very homelike feel to it and we loved staying there with our 3 small children. Although we never met Karen she was a great hostess in her willingness to help us when we couldn't find the apartment and for answering questions for us during the stay. We would love to return!

    Nicole2017-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Karen was a wonderful host. Her communication was detailed, informative and timely. I felt she went to great lengths to make sure our booking, which we amended to suit my partner's unexpected work commitment, transitioned smoothly. The cottage is a lovely building with a sun-trap courtyard garden which was perfect for dining outside and we enjoyed the opportunity to catch some rays. The decoration inside was lovely and enhanced the character of the cottage. A toilet on all 3 storeys/floors was a great touch. The key safe system worked well. The village was gorgeous. Parking was on the street but we were always parked almost directly after the entrance to the news terrace. The nearby Forest of Dean was as spectacular as we'd hoped.

    Elaine2016-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great cottage that is so much better than the photos - homely yet modern and everything you could possibly want and more - and perfectly clean - we enjoyed our evenings with French doors open listening to the birds :) Great communication through out- and easy check in - will be back again - thanks

  • Great cottage, tucked away off the main road so traffic noise not an issue. Beautifully clean inside and perfect for our family of four and two dogs regards it's size and location for exploring the forest of dean.

    Julie2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Karen was available on the phone and made sure that we were comfortable on arrival and made us aware that if there was any problems (which there was none) just to let her know.

  • Farthings Cottage was everything we could have asked for, lovely location in a beautiful village, well appointed and tastefully decorated. We used the cottage as a base for a mini-break, exploring the Forest of Dean and for a Flyboarding experience at the National Diving and Activity Center which was around 20 mins away. We did a couple of short walks around the village, and even had a take-away from the Indian restaurant in The Railway Inn (grown-ups only!)

Our 18th century house provides access to the outdoor activities of the Forest of Dean and is near where the surf-board riders of the Severn Bore start. This large room with king sized bed and twin arm chairs has been recently renovated and has access to its own private bathroom with bath and large shower.
The house was built in the 1700s and has changed little since those days. We have put a lot of effort into bringing it back to its former glory and where possible, we have retained the features which made us fall in love with it. However, it has been restored to a high standard so will give you the feeling of comfort and warmth that a cared-for old property can provide. This room has a separate bathroom with a large walk-in shower and a bath. Comfortable chairs are provided to relax in or to watch the internet-enabled HD television or DVD player. A well stocked beverage tray is provided together with fresh milk if required, and home-made shortbread. We aim for this space to be a home from home for our guests. We also have a large en-suite room with a view over the Severn and a balcony which can be found under the title "Large room with balcony .." if this room does not quite meet your requirements. We believe in local sourcing of what we supply, and so the majority of our food items come from the Forest of Dean and Severn and Wye Valleys, including Middle White pork sausages from Huntsham Court Farm which supplies many Michelin starred restaurants, smoked fish from the Severn and Wye Smokery, and apple juice from Ragmans Lane Farm in the Forest of Dean. Where we can't source local goods, we obtain quality products from elsewhere such as flour for our home-made bread and granola from Wessex Mill and your soaps and shampoos which come from Arran Aromatics on the Isle of Arran.
The village of Newnham may be better described as a Cotswold-style village than a Forest of Dean village, with its wide main street with service road running down the side, and central strip of grass planted with trees and bulbs. It was once the primary port for goods being shipped into and from the Forest of Dean. There are a few shops and a couple of pubs of very differing character and a good cafe. The Severn Bore (wave which runs up the river as the tide comes in) starts just down the river from here, and Newnham is where the people that try to ride the wave on surf boards and kayaks tend to try to mount it - with various degrees of success. The Forest of Dean provides much for those that love the outdoors - walking, off-road mountain biking, rope walks and a variety of attractions reflecting the varied history of the Forest, particularly its mining heritage.
  • Martin's b+b was amazing. Very beautiful house that felt like luxury. We absolutely recommend staying here for a very comfortable stay. Rooms are decorated to very high standard, breakfast was delicious and the hosts are lovely.

    Kate2017-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Warm welcome from Martin when we arrived, lovely homemade shortbread in the room, comfy bed and beautifully decorated room. We would love to stay for longer in the future.

  • We enjoyed 2 nights in Martin's amazing home. Martin made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived and we cannot recommend highly enough a stay at Church House.

  • Stayed here for 1 night 30 September 2017. This was a 5* stay. Everything was perfect. We stayed in the room with a private bathroom (not en-suite). It was the roadside (A48) but there was very little noise due to secondary double-glazing. This room was nicely decorated with a couple of comfy armchairs which was great rather than sitting on the bed. There were little touches that make the difference flowers, homemade shortbread, good selection of coffee and teas, no UHT milk but real fresh milk (nice one Martin). Plenty of storage space if staying longer. Everything was very clean and tidy. The host Martin - really nice guy, communicated well before and during our stay, was prepared to help in anyway. The location - this is a good base for visiting the country and city. Will definitely stay here again.

    Brian2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is an exceptional B and B! The decor, breakfast and welcome are all excellent and there was a really good file of local information and recommendations. However what really made it special is the attention to detail - decaffeinated teabags on the tray in the bedroom and a selection of 30 whiskies to try!

    Ros2017-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful and restful stay in a beautiful listed building that was very welcoming and cosy. We loved our bedroom with its beautiful views from the French doors that led onto a delightful balcony. Martin was very welcoming and warm and it was great to be offered lovely tea and coffee with homemade lemon drizzle cake on our arrival - yum, yum! In addition, the room had tea and coffee facilities alongside very tasty homemade shortbread. The bed was extremely comfortable and a great night's sleep was had. The following morning a hearty breakfast was well received. We loved their lovely yellow lab who is beautiful and was an added bonus/star! Thank you soooo much Martin for a great relaxing stay, it was great meeting you - we hope to be able to visit again very soon. :)

  • Beautiful house and room. Lovely little touches and a great host made for a memorable stay.

    David2017-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the character of the property and the more than helpful hosts who couldn't do enough for us. The room was a generous size and very well equipped. The bathroom, whilst a few steps down the corridor was very luxurious. Loved the extras in the room, especially the home made shortbread and freshly made tea on arrival. Martin kindly gave us a lift to the restaurant. Amazing selection of whiskey. Breakfast was fabulous, especially the special sausages and the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. The breakfast alone is well worth returning for. Definitely recommended.

A beautiful light and airy spacious double with en-suite shower in our lovely home on our small-holding. Close to the River Wye with the ancient forest on our doorstep, so choose to walk, cycle, canoe or simply sit and rest. Breakfast included.
The room is a large double with space for a mattress on the floor for younger children. It has its own en-suite shower and WC. There are tea and coffee making facilities in the room and a downstairs breakfast room where we serve a good continental breakfast with local bread, homemade preserves and plenty of good hot coffee and tea. Wi-Fi available.
The Pludds is a peaceful hamlet with many paths into the Forest and some excellent views. Access to the River Wye is approximately 3 miles away. • Julie and Mike were lovely hosts, very welcoming and always happy to have a chat and a cup of tea. The house was really beautiful and the room was great which allowed us to sleep really well after a long days cycle! Breakfast was simple but really lovely, great homemade jams! There were some lovely flowers around the house and I'm intrigued as to how the garden will look when all the vegetables are in flower or fruit. The area is very quiet and close to the edge of the Forest of Dean. We had a lovely few days cycling around the Forest and the Wye Valley. The Malt Sheaf (nearest pub) serves good standard pub food and is only a short 20 minute walk (via a fantastic viewpoint). Thank you very much, Julie, Mike and Olive (the dog)

  • What can I say? Julie and Mike were wonderful hosts. We only stayed one night in their home but enjoyed every minute. They were very welcoming and accommodating. The room was comfortable and clean. The shower was amazing! Breakfast was a treat with berries from the garden and our favourite part was the conversation and laughs we had with Julie and Mike. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us :))

    Peaceful Forest Retreat
    15 reviews
Forest of Dean cottage with flag stone floors and open fire. Small courtyard with all day sunshine with hot tub, BBQ & firepit. Convenient village location with late shops and take-aways but close to forest walks, biking, lakes and sculpture trail
The cottage is a great, quiet weekend get away with 3 bedrooms and a sitting/dining room in a retro style with a well-equipped galley kitchen. The cottage is funky and unconventional with bedrooms that are themed - birds of paradise, vintage rose and woodland sheepskin.
Quirky village - not picturesque but has all the amenities you might need for a weekend away, such as take aways, late co-op with off-licence and pharmacy etc. But has good walks up the hills behind the village and great access to the Royal Forest of Dean and nearby Herefordshire.
  • Lovely house in a lovely part of the world. Thanks Zoff.

  • Thanks for the stay. We really enjoyed the hot tub

  • Had a great weekend away. The cottage is very nice. Extremely well equipped. Hot tub was a perfect addition. Zoff was a perfect host, well organised and Great communication. We arrived to the hot tub ready to jump straight in and the cottage was lovely, warm and cosy. Great kids play area and park a short walk away. Good local amenities and shop. Thanks for a great weekend.

  • The cottage was really great and perfect for a group of 7 girls. Very comfy beds (and alot of choice), very clean and tidy and had a good range of kitchen stuff so we good do lots of cooking. The jacuzzi, BBQ and fire pit were a lovely extra. Would definitely recommend!

    Rhiannon2016-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, well equipped and clean cottage, tucked nicely away from the main road yet in walking distance of the shops \ takeaways etc. Only downside was having to carry bags up the long path but well worth it for everything else on offer. Hot tub was extra welcome after a long hot days walking too.

    Rachel2015-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • The host was very helpful and always contactable. The neighbours were welcoming and the area was friendly. Would highly recommend. The area of Micheldean is not too far away from Gloucester centre by car and we were very happy with the stay.

  • We absolutely loved our stay at Zoff's cottage, it was the perfect spot for our family get together and we made good use of the hot tub while we were there!! The local shop and pub were just a stones throw away and we were just a short drive to plenty of local attractions and walks. We'd definitely recommend the cottage, it was clean, beds were comfy and the kitchen was well stocked with utensils and crockery, we all left well rested and relaxed! Thanks Zoff!

    Rachael2015-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Myself and some friends stayed at Zoff's place for a weekend away. The cottage is cosy, was clean and tidy, and has some of those luxuries that make a stay just right (dishwasher and washing machine). There is a convenient co op 2 minutes away that's open until 10pm everyday, and the Forest of Dean is wonderful, especially when the weather is good. The hot tub is amazing, great to relax in. There is parking on the road which normally has some spaces free and the car park behind the co op is also pretty cheap. We didn't meet Zoff and Liz, but our contact with them was always polite and welcoming, and we would definitely stay here again.

  • Beautiful, glowing house with fab amenities and a charming host and adorable children....what more could one wish for?

    John2017-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • This place was a haven of comfort at the end of our vacation. We stayed with 3 airbnb hosts during our stay in the UK and this was the best. Quiet, clean, calming, comfortable, with terrific breakfast items in our own little kitchen. Louise and Diego were welcoming and sweet, and though we didn't get to meet the children, they were quiet and adorable. This is a new home, so everything works, the shower is terrific, and there's plenty of parking. The only drawback for us was that the pubs in Mitcheldean were lackluster at best, so there was nothing in walking distance, but there are a couple great pubs within a short drive. Highly recommended!

    John and Sarah2017-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • We used Louise's place as a great base to explore Gloucester and the Forest of Dean. Her house is spotless and there were so many thoughtful touches such as provisions for breakfast, access to a kitchen and even shampoo in the en-suite shower. We had a great time and would highly recommend Louise's room to anyone looking to stay in the area

    Lisa2017-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • Room very clean and comfortable. Louise was exceptionally understanding when I arrived really very late - and everything was just very easy. Would definitely stay again - perfect location for Harts Barn Cookery School.

My wife and I live in an extended medieval cottage in the village of Ruardean in the Forest of Dean. It is a beautiful home in a beautiful part of England and we are very much looking forward to sharing it with the world! Cheltenham and the Cotswolds are less than an hour's drive away, whilst the Forest of Dean and the Wye Valley offer fantastic walking and cycling opportunities on the doorstep. There is a good selection of pubs serving home-cooked food within walking or easy driving distance. We have two double rooms on the top floor of our home that share a clean and modern bathroom. This listing is for anyone looking to book what we call the Blue Room. The house itself is a five bedroom cottage with a great kitchen which you are more than welcome to use for your breakfast. We will provide tea, coffee, toast, jams and cereals in the morning free of charge and if you are interested in an amazing local cooked breakfast, please let us know and we will provide it for a small extra charge. We can be a little hard to get to (the isolation is part of the fun!) but we provide parking for those arriving by car, which is the easiest way of getting to us. We can also pick up from Gloucester train station for an extra £25. Please ask if you would like to arrange this.
  • Lovely, helpful and accommodating hosts and a spotless, bright room. An unexpected breakfast too!

    Laura2013-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • A fantastic place to stay. We spent Saturday cycling around the Forest of Dean, arrived to a very warm welcome at the Medieval Cottage (easy to find from the main road through the village) and went out to the recommended local pub. Simple pub food and a good jukebox, friendly locals, a good place to have a few drinks and play some cards. Lovely breakfast on the Sunday morning after a very good night's rest in the room at the top of the house - and what a lovely house it is. Helen and Charles were very friendly hosts and I would recommend their cottage for a stay in a beautiful part of the country.

    David2013-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was very brief, so there wasn't time to get to know Charles and Helen, however the house is fabulous, and we very much enjoyed staying in the oldest part upstairs. Had we stayed longer, we would have benefited from our hosts' advice about walks in the area, as they are both keen walkers. Gloucestershire is gorgeous. If we get back, we'd like to stay longer.

    Barbara2013-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fabulous weekend with Charles and Helen, their home us gorgeous, very cosy, warm and exceptionally pretty. We were the only guests so had the whole of the second floor to ourselves and the blue room was exactly as welcoming as expected. Our hosts could not have been more helpful with a great breakfast, suggestions for visits, directions and the loan of a very serious map. A lovely stay with really lovely people. Strongly recommended : )

    Tricia2015-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great 3 days with Charles and Helen. What a beautiful old house. The bedroom and bath were immaculate and comfortable. The continental breakfast was a nice touch, and Helen even make me some porridge when my stomach was upset. (But was horrified when I asked for raisins to go with it!). We took a "quiet day" from our travels to go to the Wye Valley and Tintern Abbey in Wales, which is very close.

    Charlie2013-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I spent the August bank holiday in Charles' and Helen's cottage. The surroundings are lovely and one of the walks in our walk book literally passed 100m from the cottage. We did several walks in the Forest of Dean area, and the cottage served as a perfect base for that. The village pub was very friendly and we had dinner there every night. The cottage is amazing with some lovely gardens. Just the place one would like to retire to one day. Charles and Helen were lovely hosts and made us feel very welcome.

    Jesper2015-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Charles and Helen are wonderful hosts with a beautiful home. We weren't there for long, but were very comfortable in the room. The garden is really lovely, and the surrounding countryside is perfect for exploring.

    Jenny2017-04-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a brief but very enjoyable stay at Charles and Helen's lovely house on the edge of the Forest of Dean. The hosts are wonderfully welcoming and helpful, allowing us to picnic in the beautiful garden in the midst of the peace and quiet of this charming part of Gloucestershire. Charles is a fount of information on local sites, routes etc. All in all this is an excellent base for exploring a really lovely area - Wye Valley, Chepstow, Cheltenham all in easy reach

  • Richard and his family were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. They were happy to chat or leave me to my own devices, which ever stored me. The bed room was comfortable and we'll decorated. I was given a choice of bath or shower room which was really good. I was given use of a lounge with TV which again was very comfortable. I also had access to the family kitchen to prepare my own meals. All in all Richard provided an excellent experience.

  • We stayed at Mill Garden Lodge for 10 days. It was absolutely magnificent! Tracey and David are amazing hosts. We felt very welcome! The place itself is a gem of holiday rentals in Forest of Dean area. I really liked interior, everything made with such good taste. Very modern, clean and cosy, we couldn't ask for anything better. The bed is so comfortable that I didn't want to get up in the mornings. The territory around lodge is beautiful and relaxing. Location is very close to main sightseeing and recommended pubs and restaurants are superb. We'll definitely recommend this place to anyone who thinks of staying at Forest of Dean.

  • Look no further. You have found the perfect getaway with the loveliest hosts. The accommodation is wonderful, the bed is so comfy, the shower is amazing and you have everything you need... and more. Arriving to fresh bread, eggs, milk, tea and the most amazing lemon drizzle cake were just a few of the added extra touches that make Tracey and David the most warm and welcoming hosts. I would not hesitate to re book, and would recommend Mill Garden Lodge to anyone.

  • Tracey and David are great hosts. The Lodge is beautiful much better than the photos show. Very comfortable, everything we needed and in a lovely setting, great for exploring the surrounding area. Stanley our Labrador was made very welcome and enjoyed the freedom in the garden. would thoroughly recommend.

  • If you want to get away from it all in a beautiful tranquil location complete with rolling hills, babbling brook running next to your accommodation where you can sit and watch numerous birdlife including wrens and dippers then Mill Garden Lodge is the perfect retreat. The lodge is fitted out to the highest standards and comes equipped with everything that you need to self cater. It was so comfortable that we felt at home the minute we stepped inside. Tracey and David are the loveliest of hosts who take great care to ensure that you are comfortable and have everything you need at your disposal. The welcome pack of freshly made cake, eggs, bread and milk were gratefully received. We specifically booked the lodge as we needed dog friendly accommodation as we were travelling with Fred our pet Cockapoo. Needless to say he absolutely loved running around the enclosed field while we loved the view from the bench at the top of the hill. He was fascinated by Rocky and Jessie the resident goats and even managed to paddle in the brook. When we came to go home he refused to get in the car which is a first and just shows how much he enjoyed himself there. This was our first visit to the Forest of Dean area and it is safe to say that we will definitely be returning.

  • High quality lodgings. A fantastic bathroom that is almost built to Scandinavian standards which is quite impressive in the UK :) Living room is cosy, spacious and practical. Fantastic outside area. Both of us enjoyed our stay and would chose to stay again if we are in the area.

We do offer a variety of additional meals to meet your dietary needs (eg dairy and gluten free): • Cooked breakfast at £5 per head supplement in addition to the free continental breakfast. • Lunch (packed or cooked) at £5 per head. • A two course supper at £12 per head. However we don't offer self-catering use of our kitchen. We also don't allow food in bedrooms. Free range eggs are provided by our hens! Washing and drying is available for £4 per load. The house is between the west bank of the River Severn and the edge of the Forest of Dean. There are plenty of good pubs nearby, notably the Red Hart at Blaisdon, The White Hart at Broadoak, The Cock at Blakeney and the Globe at Alvington. The scenery is picturesque with fine views across the Severn to the Cotswold escarpment. There are plenty of local walks and cycling opportunities around here and in the depths of the Forest abound. Also tours of film locations (e.g. Harry Potter, Doctor Who, Merlin and Stars Wars: the Force Awakens, to name just a few) are proving popular. Historic and charming Newnham-on-Severn, one of the finest villages in the Forest of Dean, is a mile away. The house provides a great base for enjoying the Severn Bore, the Forest of Dean, Monmouth, Ross-on-Wye, Gloucester, Cheltenham and Chepstow. Further afield, the Cotswolds, Cirencester, Bristol, Bath and Cardiff are all easy day trips.
  • It was lovely to be greeted by Janie and her family, followed shortly with wine in hand especially after an over night flight and hours of driving. The directions were precise and on point to their location which was helpful. This is my second Airbnb experience in as many weeks, once again traveling without my husband, so it was important to me where ever I stayed was a home from home experience and that is exactly what I got. Immediately I was made to feel welcome into their home, I can honestly say, at no point did I feel intrusive. The balance was perfect in as much as I felt part of the family as well as I had my own privacy as and when I wanted it. The whole family are just delightful and genuine with it. Even before I arrived, Janie was so accommodating around my food intollerances, this was a relief as its a new thing I'm having to get used to. If your an animal lover, your going to love their pooches and cat.............., adorable doesn't cut it! Everthing was as described, but it's the little touches, like Janies husband caring enough to put on an electric blanket so I wasn't cold. Janie offering up advice on places of interest to visit on days out armed with good old fashioned car map in hand. If your a sucker for an open fire like I am, this is your place, bliss. The bed is comfy and snugly and a wonderful shower, I hate showers with no power. The house has a real charm about it in which I felt safe and secure in its location. The meals have been wonderful that Janie cooked; albeit she wasn't offended if I wanted to add a few bits of my own pieces to garnish my meals further.

    Peggy2016-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • Wow where do I (URL HIDDEN) son James and I have just visited Janie and Alastair and have had a wonderful time, they are the perfect hosts, we were shown to our cute and cozy attic bedroom to settle in, then were served afternoon tea with homemade warm scones and jam in the garden, just perfect after a long day, then a lovely bbq around the table with the family, with salad home grown from the garden, and what a gorgeous garden, overlooking a field of llamas and sheep. Janie and Alastair are so warm and friendly and couldn't do enough for us, we were treated to the piano being played by Rex and his girlfriend while we sat in the garden it was idyllic, I loved every moment and would definitely like to visit again if we are in the area. Cooked breakfast was fabulous with homemade bread, and eggs from the chickens. I can't recommend Janie and Alastair and their stunning beautiful home enough

Breakfast in the morning was perfect, and we even got some fruit cake to take with us for the day, which tasted so good. Would Recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in the area, as hosts were very kind and welcoming.

  • If you can stay at Alistair and Janie’s, it may be one of the most memorable experiences you could have. At least, for me, it was one of the most unique, special, welcoming and adventurous experiences I have had. What Alistair and Janie’s family offer is much more than a place to stay at night: they might as well offer a grand piano (organ, violin, saxophone…) concert hall, an artisan jam production company, farm living for a day, a tour company of Gloucestershire, a stay in a historic place for a night, orchard tours, sheep, alpaca and hill observation point, what seemed to me an award winning garden and most importantly a unique greeting as almost as being part of their family. When I lost the last bus to get to their house, they helped me quite amazingly to find a solution and I am very grateful Alistair picked me up at the bus stop. I think I did not want to cause so much trouble in arriving, though it is quite simple from Gloucester at the right times, but I can barely describe how helpful they were. They showed me a walk I could do in the countryside and nearby open fields, and though I was not prepared, they made it possible by lending me some boots to do the trek. Everything was amazing. I am very grateful to them. I hope, if they are willing for me to stay again in the future, to plan it better and visit the Forest of Dean.

  • Staying with Janie and Alistair was a lovely experience, welcoming, relaxed and very hospitable.

    Kathy2017-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a quiet, friendly and relaxing spot to stay.. look no further. Janie and Alistair offer a lovely place at there home and immediately on arriving the first night I felt like a friend returning from a trip. The house is incredible.. truly unique.. and is without doubt one of the nicest places I have ever stayed on AirBnB. Its a traditional cottage, with high ceilings, steep stairs, largely wooden interior and is wonderfully decorated both inside and out. This is not ordinary accommodation.. there is some real history here. The real gem however, is the family. I found Janie and Alistair to be really caring and easy to talk to.. and with a couple of bright and talented young adults and 3 border terriers.. I really felt like part of the family. It was easy to find a bit of time for myself with all the space they had and when it was time for me to go, the first thing I did before leaving was arrange for another stay. Wonderful.

Panoramic views across the River Severn. Come and stay in a lovely 17th Century Farmhouse. Boards creak and you duck, in a farmhouse of the best kind: simple, stone-flagged, beamed, and delightful.
The 400 acres are farmed organically and there are beautiful views across the Severn estuary to the Cotswolds, the Forest of Dean on the doorstep, and woodland walks carpeted with spring flowers. And there is simply no noise – unless the guinea fowl are in voice.
The area is of outstanding natural beauty with deer, wild boars and badgers running around. If you come at the right time of year, you can see the River Severn Boar, a natural phenomenon when there is an up tide surge in the river which is ridden by surfers and canoes!
  • Penny was very welcoming and had left some toys ready for our small children. The farm is in a lovely setting and the kids had a great time running around with the puppy, seeing the guinea fowl, chickens and cows. The bedrooms were in the old farmhouse and were wonderfully comfortable. The whole area is beautiful. We went on several walks in the area to appreciate the forest of Dean and visited Puzzlewood, which was great too. We would highly recommend Grove Farm Bed and Breakfast.

Full of hand made objects and skilful woodwork, I hope this place will charm you as well as making you feel welcome and relaxed. Perfect for a stay in the beautiful Forest of Dean with excellent road and bus links and a lock up garage for your bikes. The local pub is a 2 minute stroll away and there is a handy village shop and Post Office 5 minutes walk away as well as a petrol station.
The studio has been carefully built by skilled local craftsmen in beautiful redwood, sweet chestnut and sycamore woods. The greatest care has been taken to ensure your comfort and enjoyment of the area. Please note that the bed is a safe sleeping platform accessed by several wooden steps, so not suitable for guests with mobility issues.
The Forest of Dean and Wye Valley is an exceptionally beautiful part of the country with the River Wye close at hand and acres of Forest to explore. You can walk straight out into the woods or drive a short distance to many paths and cycle trails or to canoe hire places. Ross on Wye is about 5 miles away with a Sainsburys and Morrisons and Monmouth is about 10 minutes drive and has a Waitrose and M&S Foodhall.
  • Bijoux and compact with everything you need for a self contained break. The wood work is to die for.

  • Very friendly and helpful host. The "shed" is an excellent little space to stay in and beautifully kitted out.

  • Juliet is a lovely person and a great host. She gave us eggs from her chickens which you can see from the rear of the cabin :) at the front of the cabin there is a nice bistro set were you can sit outside if you wish, this is in Juliet's garden near her conservatory but we was made very welcome to be there. she made us home made jam! Provided us with butter and milk. The cabin is beautiful with hand crafted furniture. It's in a nice location for some nice walks. We walked around the local area and drove to the forest at different locations for walks. We got our own parking space which is nice so we didn't have to worry about that. Generally a lovely holiday all round :) also there is electrically in the cabin so we used our laptop for films. Oh! Also there was a whole stack of dvds in the cabin and some books! And a portable dvd player in the cupboard which is awesome. We didn't use those as had the laptop but was still cool. Oh and tea coffee and sugar was supplied. I think that's all lol :) defo would recommend.

  • A gorgeous lodge in a fantastic location. Juliet was very friendly and offered advice on the local area. Eggs, bread, jam, butter and milk provided which was a lovely touch. Thank you for a great weekend.

  • Juliet was a great host and the studio felt really homely on arrival. Warm & clean. Beautifully crafted wood construction and furniture throughout. The studio is compact so you'll need to be organised here. Didn't take us long to downsize and feel at home. It has what you need for a few days or longer. The garden is quite small and so the studio is fairly close to the house but it still felt like our own cosy space. The friendly chickens and cats added to the experience.

  • Quirky accommodation and for us simply not enough space. The studio is very well equipped. For young people an ideal base for touring the Forest of Dean.

  • Juliet was an excellent host. Her forest studio is very charming and cosy. It has all the amenities you'll need and the modern facilities are second to none and really make it feel like home, and the bed is very comfortable! Don't hesitate to stay here in the winter because it is really warm, there is an electric blanket in the bed and an electric heater which quickly warms up place. We particularly enjoyed the fresh eggs and bread Juliet left out for us to enjoy- her cats were a lovely bonus too. We will definitely be back.
