Just booked in Chimayo

Guest House on property including weaving studio and adobe works. Large and comfortable place for exploring Northern New Mexico. Pet friendly but do be aware that we have 2 large dogs who will herd you in and out of the drive. This is not a place for people who are uncomfortable with dogs.
Guest house in a traditional village and weaving studio, north of Santa Fe, next to the historic town of Chimayo. Handy for visiting northern New Mexico and good for families and small groups. 900 sq.ft. guest house is set up studio style with double bed,and single bed. There is a semi attached back bedroom with 2 single beds and half bath; for which the extra per person charge applies. James office is also attached divided from studio by a door, stairs and another door. Beds are homemade with foam mattresses and mattress pads. Kitchen has electric burners, microwave, toaster oven, refrigerator and all cooking and eating utensils. Barbeque grill also available. Kitchen ceiling is low upon entering but rises as you move into the space. Satellite TV, DVD player, and wi-fi. This is a rural service area so wi-fi can be slow. Washer/dryer. Board games, wide variety of reading material and electric piano. Eclectic decor with Leigh's weaving and various African arts and crafts from our occasional African vendors. Leigh has a weaving studio with 3 looms. There are 2 large dogs who will herd you in and out the drive and 1 cat,. Ocho Guest House is 20 miles north of Santa Fe, 5 miles south of Espanola , 45 miles south of Taos and 20 miles east of Abiquiu. Grocery stores and restaurants are 10 minutes away, including one of the best traditional New Mexican restaurants. The Santa Cruz river and BLM land for walking/running is at the end of the road. We also now have a portable swamp cooler.
La Puebla is an area that has mostly been considered an outlying neighborhood of the village of Chimayo. It now pretty much serves as a mixed residential area where people work in Santa Fe, Espanola, and Los Alamos. There still exists some farming.
  • Leigh & James have a wonderful, eclectic spot; my 3 daughter & I enjoyed our base of operations greatly. The lodging is just a short walk to the Santa Cruz River , & a short drive to Chimayo where one can enjoy fabulous hand woven rugs (Centinela, Ortegas & Trujilla's to name a few), & other locally made art. Then of course there are Dixon, Truchas & many other locations to explore & enjoy. I note that other guests have remarked on how difficult it was to find the studio. Maybe smart devises are getting smarter, but using our Garmin &/or smart phones, we had no trouble. Note, however, that once you arrive on Platt Court, yours is NOT the first residence on the left. Rather, continue up the road till you see a (white on blue??) sign on your right saying "Ocho" & you have arrived Our dog was respectful of Leigh & James dogs, & enjoyed their canine company. All in all, a good place to spend some vacation time. Comfortable, convenient & in a very pretty part of this country. Thank you Leigh & James.

  • We missed the part about the dogs so my mom being a little bit of nervous of a person was scared when they ran up and jumped on the car, to the car we opted not to stay. The space is quite rustic but homey and clean. On a property with lots of other buildings and lots of animals and looks to be amid lots of outdoor projects. Its not the most picturesque spot exactly, but it is near many other day trips from Santa fe. For me a person who has backpacked in Europe and stayed in every kind of place imaginable this place would be just fine, even fresh eggs in the fridge. But for my older mother who is a bit more nervous and conservative the animals and slightly run down place (there is a large hole in the ceiling with a tapestry over it) she felt more comfortable not staying. The host seemed very helpful and accomodating I am just stating a honest review to save the more skittish types any surprises.

  • Leigh's studio was spacious and low-key. We felt so comfortable that we hung out and cooked all our meals there. It's a small farm, and there are pets around, gardens etc. Leigh and her husband are super friendly and accommodating, We really enjoyed connecting with them. The apartment is full of Leigh's fiber art, and that's really cool, too. She's a super talented weaver. One thing that was not so great: the ceilings in the kitchen are low in some spots, and we bumped our heads...more than once. Would go back again for sure :)

    Carey2013-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay in the Weaver's cottage. Everything we needed was available including advice from Leigh of a place to have dinner. The cottage was private. We enjoyed sleeping in and waking surrounded by art and books and weavings. Our hosts were wonderful.

    Sue2013-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Leigh's house was amazing! She was kind enough to guide us because it had started to rain/thunder, and the road condition wasn't so good. The house is clean, decorated pretty, and she had provided everything we needed. Highly recommend.

    Connie2014-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great rustic hideaway. The artwork was awesome. Comes with most amenities. Some reviewer's complained about rooster noise; The host Leigh must have listened because the rooster is now far away and makes almost no noise. Large private space. Peaceful clean place. Even had coffee shampoo and soap. Cons: first and foremost there is no heating or cooling in the house. We had a wonderful cool morning at our stay in mid July but it was slightly uncomfortable with the heat during the day. Low ceiling in kitchen area - I'm 6'4" so it was fun ducking. Even so the stay was well worth it, you instantly feel comfortable. Leigh made such a comfortable place and amazing artwork makes it a unique stay.

  • Loved this place. Felt like being back in the New Mexico I remember when I first got here in 1978. Leigh and James were great hosts with a fascinating history and a great collection of interesting items in the cabin. And my dogs had fun as well. Will definitely go back when I need a break from Santa Fe.

    Caroline2016-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • This was a wonderful place to stay!Wonderful wildlife refuge close by, explorations by the river and Leigh met us made sure we were set and knew how to contact her- she was very welcoming.

Enjoy the best Santa Fe, Taos, and Northern New Mexico has to offer. This space has all of the amenities and comforts of a modern home with the charm and character that only a historic adobe can offer. Great for families and dogs! Private, views, hikes, peace. Our home is a carefully restored adobe, over a hundred years old. It is light and airy with skylights and open ceilings. In classic adobe style, the walls are several feet thick and have been finished with natural mud plaster. The main house has two bedrooms, a bathroom, a living room, and kitchen. It is heated with radiant heat. The studio building has another bedroom that could also be used as an office or studio space. The house and studio space is set on quarter of an acre that is completely fenced in for maximum privacy. The garden is well established with native plants, flowers, and herbs. Your views are of the badlands, which you can hike to right out the door. There are a few neighbors, relatives of the family who built the home over a hundred years ago.

  • We had a fabulous time in Marisela's addition to her beautiful home! Quiet and serene yet centrally located, we were able to do days trips to Jemez, Taos, Abiquiu and Santa Fe. A local restaurant provides a culinary destination for fine New Mexican cuisine. And Marisela is a wonderful hostess. Can't wait to return to Chimayo and her country place!

    Richard2017-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • What a great place to stay. If you are looking for a quiet and secluded getaway, this is it. Lots to do within 45 minutes if you want busy, but so relaxing if you don't. Chimayo is a cute town and Marisela gives great tips on places to check out there, and nearby Santa Fe, and Taos. She is a gracious host and truly wants you stay to be what you want. We will be staying here again!

    Jena2017-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • We love Marisela's earthy, charming space. The location is quiet and private. Marisela was very welcoming and a great source of information. Her space was close to all the place we wanted to visit. Also, my friend and I loved the healing energy of the space. We loved our experience and would visit again in a heart beat!

  • Great location between Santa Fe and Taos in the charming town of Chimayo. Quiet and relaxing.

    Phil2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Northern New Mexico is one of our favorite locations on the planet, and we have been to the historic village of Chimayo many times in the past. However, this was our first encounter with the "real" New Mexico in that part of the Sangre de Cristo mountains. Marisela's charming studio is located just a short distance from the famous Santuario, and the famous restaurant at Rancho de Chimayo, in an area replete with tradition and resonance; her family has been in that spot for 400 years. It is a very serene and tranquil environment. The studio is beautifully furnished, with an excellent kitchen -- well stocked, and a joy to cook in -- a very comfortable loft bed, comfortable sofas and chairs, a fireplace, etc. It really is an oasis of comfort and retreat. There is a big beautiful bathtub, and guests can avail themselves of a wonderful massage from Marisela herself. A small caveat for TV junkies: you're out of luck, but the wireless signal is strong. We were reluctant to depart after a very restorative evening there, and will most certainly return again in the future!! Very highly recommended ... PS: Do not rely on GPS to get you to the location; it will send you somewhat astray.

Lovely home on the 2nd story of the historic Rancho Manzana, located on the Plaza del Cerro, in Chimayo. Breathtaking views, spacious living space, one bedroom with additional sleeping loft, den and open kitchen plan. Private and cozy.
Walking distance to the Santuario de Chimayo and world famous Rancho de Chimayo Restaurant. This unique space has unusually high ceilings with grand open spaces full of light. The bedroom has features not usually found in an old adobe. The light filters through shutters with a clawfoot bathtub in the bedroom, romantically located under a window with the flowering catalpa tree right outside for your evening soak. The bathroom has an extra large shower and a washer and dryer. Radiant heat in the winter and AC in the summer. The den has a comfy double size futon with flat screen TV for watching NetFlix, Amazon, or sleeping. The sleeping loft overlooks the living space and is generously furnished with a double bed. Come and enjoy the historic feeling of staying in an old adobe with all the comforts of home. Sleeps 3 couples comfortably or a family of 4-5 mix of kids and adults. We have plenty of parking and can safely store your bicycles or other valued possessions while you are out exploring the vast country side.
This beautifully appointed home is located on the historic Plaza del Cerro in Chimayo, New Mexico. The building dates from the mid-1700's, a time when Northern New Mexico was still largely unsettled. It was the Ortega family residence and housed the original post office and mercantile store, serving the Chimayo community until the 1950's. Great care has been taken in the on-going restoration process, insuring a relaxing, hospitable retreat. A 30-minute drive from Santa Fe takes you to a tranquil, timeless rural paradise. Leaving the main highway, you'll pass through the rural community of Nambe, the Nambe Pueblo and the red sandstone "badlands." The light is magical, and the setting is in many ways unchanged from centuries past, as you head toward the cluster of trees and adobe houses that is Chimayo. (Suggested reading: Sabino's Map - Life in Chimayo's Old Plaza by Don Usner, Museum of New Mexico Press). The rural location is within easy driving distance of a number of tourist destinations: Bandelier National Monument, shopping in Santa Fe, the Santa Fe Opera, the High Road to Taos and Northern Villages, Abiquiu and Chama River environs, river rafting, as well as the famous Santuario de Chimayo and traditional weavers in the village. During the winter months skiing under the brilliant blue skies in New Mexico is exceptional. Take advantage of cross country trails nearby and ski the slopes of the Taos Ski Valley, Sipapu and Santa Fe Ski Basin, all within 1 - 1 1/2 hour drive from here.
  • We loved the entire space, the full kitchen where we cooked dinner, the private bedroom with a clawfoot tub, the loft bedroom, which was perfect for my teenage daughter. Everything about the place was tastefully and thoughtfully designed. I enjoyed sitting up on the ledge by the large picture window overlooking Jody's beautiful property and Mesas in the distance while I had my morning coffee. Jody was very accommodating and available but we had independence and privacy throughout our stay and freedom to walk about the entire property of several acres. We were grateful and amazed every time we walked in the door during our 3 night stay. We would definitely come again.

  • Robert had a comfortable home, and he was a great host, making sure that we were settled in well.

    Maria2017-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Super nice couple that made us feel at home instantly.

    Ryan2017-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Robert was extremely kind and courteous and was available at a moment's notice - he was very thoughtful and informative about the surrounding area. The house was fantastic and our family was very comfortable for our stay. I would recommend his home to anyone looking to stay in the Espanola/Chimayo area. It was very much a pleasure to have met him and we were very appreciative that he opened his home to our family.

    Cory2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • We initially had a hard time finding the house as the directions from Airbnb directed us farther up the road. A quick call to Robert solved the problem. The house was clean, comfortable, and perfect as our basecamp for a trip to Los Alamos. Robert was responsive and knowledgeable about the area. We had a great time and would stay there again.

    David2017-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • This house is amazing. It is big enough for us. We have five people. Robert offered us two rooms. He is very warm-hearted! We lost our way, he called us told us how to go, and picked up us . We greatly appreciate!

    Andrea Yanshu2017-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Overall good stay, Roberts house was nice. Only downside was that check-in instructions were sent 15 mins before expected arrival, had to read them on the road, dangerous. Limited kitchen utensils, one pot and one small pan

    Gian2017-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Robert's place was very quiet and clean. It was a great place to stop and rest on our road trip. My friend and I got lost on our way to his house because we took the wrong highway (and lost signal). We were delayed by almost 3 hours, and he was courteous enough to wait until we arrived to his house around 3a. Everything was great! Clean, quiet, and cozy.

    Adan2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Robert was very nice and responsive and his house was clean, big and comfortable. We were able to find it with no problem even though the location is in a quiet area. Santa Fe is about 30 mins away and the beautiful historical Chimayo is just around the corner. We enjoyed our stay!

Hot tub for guests! Free breakfast included. Your western bedroom has a queen bed with adjustable softness/firmness controls for each side. There is a private bathroom. We are a quick 30 minutes from Santa Fe and 1 hour from Taos--through gorgeous countryside to both towns. Our village is historic and quaint with an lovely shrine to visit, and a dozen shops that feature local weaving, woodworking and other hand crafts. One of the most famous restaurants in NM is here, 1 mile from Star Ranch.
You will be staying in our "Bunkhouse" bedroom which features a dual-control, adjustable, queen bed and lovely, antique, western decor. The entrance door to the house is just a few feet from your room. The Bunkhouse bathroom is decorated in a western theme and is for your use only. A privacy curtain allows you to walk between the bedroom and bath without being seen. The bathroom has a large tub and a shower. There is no TV in the guest room, but the internet is available to guests with free high speed Wi-Fi. A ceiling fan, small space heater, room air conditioner and humidifier are available. Many evenings, opening a window is enough to cool the room.
The village of Chimayo is 30 minutes north of Santa Fe and 1 hour west of Taos. The scenery in this area is spectacular! Mountains, sandstone cliffs, dry river beds, and more. We are surrounded by Indian villages called Pueblos. The Spanish culture in this region extends back into the 1600's. There are weaving and woodworking shops in the village that have been passing down their designs and techniques for over 400 years! The most visited Catholic shrine in the US is located one mile from our home - El Santuario de Chimayo. One of the best restaurants in the state, El Rancho de Chimayo, is one mile from Star Ranch. The atmosphere is casual and the prices reasonable. Be sure to try the pink prickly pear lemonade! We are also 20-30 minutes away from 5 different casinos that offer food, entertainment and gambling.
  • Very enjoyable and comfortable place to stay. Definitely quiet and remote but beautiful setting. The hosts were friendly and accommodating. Would highly recommend!!

  • Judith and her husband Joe are wonderful hosts. My month-long stay was pleasant, the room and bathroom was cozy and clean, and I would definitely stay again. In fact, I already have since I became close friends with the couple and their son Jordan.

  • The Bunkhouse at Star Ranch has a great combination of off the beaten path rusticity and sophisticated charm. Our room was comfortable and well-appointed. Out the windows on one side of the room, we had a terrific view of the cactus, scrub, and mesas. Out the other side, was the inviting courtyard with the hot tub and pond with koi. Judith is a warm and ingratiating hostess. We felt right at home.

    Julie2017-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Judith was a great host, location is excellent, room was excellent. Very happy with our Bead and Breakfast.

    Richard2017-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • Chimayo is a very old community and gives a sense of life in Northern NM that is not like spending time in more touristy Santa Fe. The Star Ranch compliments! There is a garden filled with northern NM flowers and plants, plus a small pond for relaxing. Judith, our host, was a good listener and is helpful on the practical aspects of touring! Her home is very, very clean and she pays special attention to guests getting a good night's sleep-- extra pillows and soft, smooth Cotten sheets. And the stars we could see! Thanks, Judith, for being a really good host! Linda

    Linda2016-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Such welcoming hosts (adorable dog!) and a beautiful place to stay! Great distance from Santa Fe-- with a breath-taking drive there! Would definitely stay there again :)

    Jessi2016-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a lovely gem if you're looking to be close to Santa Fe, but in a quieter area. We stayed here for a night on our honeymoon and the hosts had a bottle of champagne waiting for us upon our arrival. The room is clean and spacious, opening directly to the courtyard with a beautiful garden and hot tub. The hosts are so warm and welcoming- we would definitely return!

    Lisa2017-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for an experience that allows you to engage with a local family, experience the wide open spaces with a beautiful night sky (you can even see the Milky Way) and hospitality that rivals any we received on our entire month long travel...look no further as it is all here. The room and bathroom were beautifully appointed with all the things you would find in a high end hotel. Of all the places we stayed, this was by far our favorite and only wished we could have stayed longer. Furthermore, we could be in downtown Santa Fe in less than thirty minutes allowing us easy access to a place wanted to explore. There is a wonderful restaurant near their home that people from all over Mexico visits. The food was authentic Mexican and it was delicious. My wife and I HIGHLY recommend this place and believe you will enjoy your stay here.

Sleep upstairs , bright and sunny, single bed - views of the beautiful Chimayo valley/ Santa Fe mountains. Bird watcher's paradise. Walking available in high desert landscape behind house. Centrally located for driving to Santa fe, Taos, Los Alamos, Espanola.
Enjoy the "big room" - living room/kitchen, the peaceful outdoors, or the private spaces upstairs. wood stove in the winter, adobe coolness in the summer.
Plenty of large cottonwood trees that entice small and large birds, nesting nearby and migrating.
  • Robin house is like a nest ... you are in a wonderful secluded area out side Chimayo, it is like an oasis from the surrounding landscape which is dry and bare as NM just simply is that way. Robin took me out on a hike into the wilderness area from her home and showed me Cathedral Mt. and shared with me some of the lore of the surrounding area. Her home is more like a museum with beauty textiles, pottery, paintings. each day I noticed something new. but it is not at all cluttered. i used this time as retreat into nature and visited Ojo Calienta several times as well as going into Santa Fe, both are just a 40 min drive from Robin's home. hope to visit again next year....

    Rex2016-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • I was apparently Robin's first bnb guest and I couldn't have been more pleased with the entire experience. The setting is spectacular, her home beautiful, comfortable and quiet, and Robin is hostess extraordinaire! A weaver of stunning textiles within a famous weaving community, you'll be staying in the home of a working artist and her artistic sensibilities and world- wide travels are showcased throughout her home. An extra bonus of you like hiking is that her home abuts to the BLM where you can walk for miles undisturbed. I shall certainly return for this quintessential New Mexico experience.

    Linda2015-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Robin is a fantastic host. She makes you feel welcome and her adobe built home is a place to relax and feel the magic of New Mexico. The room was very comfortable and the view is amazing. Robin joined me for a walk into the hills to the back of her home. From there the view of the mountains with snow still showing the ski trails was beautiful. Robin shared points of interest, great shopping and outstanding restaurants close to Chimayo. A trip to Santa Fe for the day is a beautiful drive (be sure to ask Robin about the special road to take past El Santuario de Chimayo) and provides outstanding shopping and a chance to see some of Robin’s tapestries in one of the Galleries. Robin is an international traveler and award winning tapestry artist. Her looms are located in her home and she is always excited to share her knowledge of weaving. Robin’s is where I will always stay when visiting northern New Mexico. Truly amazing!!

    Bonnie2016-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • Robin is a great host. She was flexible and accommodating and generous. Her place is as described and I really appreciate having been able to stay there in such a special location. I particularly enjoyed speaking with Robin and learning about her interesting life and many talents. Thanks Robin!

    Sue 2016-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great time at Robin's place. It was secluded in an area of the country which was perfect for getting away from busy city life. I was attending meetings in Los Alamos and this place was convenient since it was only ~40 minutes away. Robin was extremely hospitable, communication throughout the entire stay was smooth, and her morning breakfasts were delicious. I would definitely recommend this place for people staying in northern NM.

    Lok-kun2016-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Robin is a spectacular host and an amazing woman to talk with... I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and truly felt at home. Next stay I'm going for that walk to the see the canyon!

    Wendy2016-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • I was welcomed cordially. The room was small but comfortable. The twin bed was adequate. The setting is lovely, the area delightful.

    Chris2016-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • For my vacation, I was craving a remote relaxing getaway and proximity to the Northern New Mexico landscape. Robin provided a wonderful experience and she even taught me how to get off the beaten path and take some different roads between Abiqui, Taos, and Santa Fe. There are hot springs, sanctuaries, art galleries, breathtaking rock formations, history, and culture all over the area. A 2 hour drive can get you to see so much! I drove all to way to the Rio Grande! The bed was comfy and the window view was fantastic. Sunny and picturesque. Robin showed me the path on the back of her little village, and I spent a morning hiking and taking photos in the desert. The trail goes on forever :) There is so much to see!! Breakfast and coffee were great and she told me about local cuisine and the best places to get food. I helped a little in her garden and I learned about the irrigation systems. Robin has a rich experience to share, as she has traveled the world and knows a lot about world culture and the history of Chimayo. Her art and creativity are apparent in ever nook and cranny of her wood filled Adobe. Check out her weaving! If I go back to the area, I will definitely be looking to stay with her, and I'd love to take a friend and share the experience. Thank you Robin for one of my best trips!

Nestled in beautiful Chimayo New Mexico! Sacred Earth is both a home yoga and art studio. A place of relaxation and sanctuary on a country style setting. Sweet, comfortable, and relaxing a one bedroom, bath and kitchen.
Guests have access to the yoga/relaxation space, no shoes please. This space was created purely for relaxation with its newly installed soft plush carpet flooring. The kitchen area, French Press/ tea/ and fridge. None cooking center at this time ( stove) use. One full size bed in bedroom area. Full bathroom in the master bedroom.
Located 1 mile from the famous restaurant The Rancho De Chimayo, and close by to galleries, shops, and the famous shrine of El Santuario. Not far from either Toas or Santa Fe both a 45 minute drive.
  • Good points are a quiet location, friendly dogs on the property. Cooling is by evaporative cooler (which are wonderful in arid climates) but require slightly open windows to work well. No screens on the windows, so mosquitoes during the summer are present.

  • Sharon was so great! The space was not what was expected.

  • Sharon was an amazing host and I loved the place! It has two bathrooms, bedroom, kitchen, dining table, and space for yoga. Sharon was very accessible and communicated with me frequently before and during the stay. She even gave me a ride into town when my transportation fell through. 5 stars!

  • We really enjoyed our stay with Sharon! She was extremely accommodating to our unique situation! We arrived in the middle of the night and she was there to greet and welcome us and offer various amenities. The following morning she offered her assistance, should it be needed and was really kind! The airbnb had such a unique character to it. The yoga elements and general feel of the residence was peaceful and inviting. We were running around the entire time we were in New Mexico. So, when we came back to the residence we found it easy to relax and prepare for whatever the next leg of our adventure was. The bed and bedding were comfortable for the chilly night and they was even fresh fruit and linens for us both! Definitely recommend!

  • We had a great time staying in the studio in Chimayo! It was very cozy and spacious and a great place to relax between hiking and heading into Santa Fe. Sharon made check in/check out very easy and the place had everything we needed--warm showers, comfortable bed, kitchen for making breakfast :)

This private beautiful 1 bedroom suite with full size kitchen appliances is located on 8 acres of woods and fields and sits on a half acre pond full of wildlife. Built in authentic historical Santa Fe style with colorful adobe walls and vigas. It has one bedroom with a luxurious king bed, a living room/kitchen combination room with a futon full size bed and a bath with tub/shower. Private entrance, shaded patio and grill. Enjoy your beautiful private retreat with pond side views and trails.
Located in the historic village of Chimayo, New Mexico this property is ideally located to tour all the sites of Northern New Mexico and return to the peace, beauty and comfort at Paradise Pond. Paradise means water - a large half acre pond sits in front of the casita. Acequias (traditional irrigation ditches) flow down the East and West sides of the property by water rights agreements going back to the 1690's. The Pond overflow creates a charming stream that snakes back and feeds a wetlands area before pouring into the Santa Cruz River - all on our 8 acre lot. All this water creates large cottonwood forests and lovely natural areas. Miles of hiking are also minutes away on BLM land where you can hike, bike or horseback ride through the red rock barrancas for miles. The suite has one deep turquoise bedroom with a luxurious king bed, a living room/kitchen combination room with a futon full size sofa bed and kiva gas fireplace and large glass patio doors with the pastoral view of the pond and fields, 1 bathroom with a tub/shower and a private shaded patio. It is connected to the main house through a sunroom which can be used for your excess luggage or storage. You will have total privacy in your space and have ample private parking and a separate dedicated entrance. The living room includes a full size futon bed. Sleeps 2-3. We live in the other side of the sunroom. This is a working garden in the summer and we are out and about on the lot. You will be welcome to share in any produce of the season. We also maintain greenhouses for winter greens which we will gladly share. The house is passive and active solar with solar electric and solar hot water. Tom works for Positive Energy Solar in Santa Fe and Jan is a certified Permaculturist. We aim for as much sustainability as possible. Chimayo is the home of the Sanctuario most well known for it's Easter pilgramage still practiced by many locals. Pilgrams walk day and night to come to Chimayo for the Easter holiday. The Sanctuario is open for visitors and is still an active congregation. The traditions of Chimayo are still practiced today including the room of blessed healing dirt. You will also find the best vendors of Chimayo authentic chili there and sample it's green and red goodness. Historians credit Chimayo with having the most intact (still lived in) Spanish Colonial Plaza in New Mexico. Many if not most of the residents of Chimayo are descendants of the Spanish settlers from the 1600's. A museum open in the summers next to Ortega's Weaving Shop will explain. Many art galleries and weavers are in Chimayo and the region. There is a wonderful local restaurant with beautiful hillside tables called 'El Rancho de Chimayo' that has great classic northern New Mexico meals. Paradise Pond is perfect for couples looking to get away for a romantic weekend. Additionally artists, writers, photographers and others who want a peaceful and inspiring natural place to work. For the adventurous it's also centrally located for day trips: 35 minutes to Santa Fe, 60 minutes to the Santa Fe Ski Basin, 55 minutes to Taos, 45 minutes to Ojo Caliente Hot Springs, 45 minutes to Abiquiu (and Ghost Ranch) or Bandelier National Park. There are hidden treasures throughout the region and the hosts have a lot of knowledge of some off the beaten path spots to visit. We will help you plan your trips if you need local advice. Many events are also worthwhile such as the Native American Ceremonial Dances, Santa Fe's numerous Markets, the Christmas Eve Canyon Road Walk and many more. So stay and relax or go exploring or both. Either way you will enjoy your stay in beautiful Northern New Mexico. Please be aware, there is no television in the casita and our internet can be very slow at times.
We love Chimayo. It's an historical village where 90% of the people living here are descendants of the first Spanish settlers in the late 1600's. There is a lot of rural small scale agriculture with their main crops being their Chimayo chile and the native blue corn. The Sanctuario de Chimayo is a major attraction and on Easter week hosts the pilgrimage where thousands of people walk to the Sanctuario. There are also many weavers still working in the old traditions. Also it is in the center of the area which includes Taos, Santa Fe and Los Alamos - everything is less than an hour away.
  • Great place, hosts and location. I can only say that I wouldn't consider this place a full home; the owners are sharing the house with you. Another small problem was that I hope they can figure out the WiFi because you only can connect in the living room. Download your movies during the day (it will take ages to download) so you can watch them at night. The rest was as expected and the hosts are wonderfully amicable and helpful.

This modern adobe house is between Espanola and Chimayo. It is a 35 minute drive to Santa Fe and about 50 minutes to Taos. The downstairs adobe walls are mud- plastered. There is a large kitchen and plenty of space. There is an acequia flowing along one side of the property. I love gardening and especially growing Blue Corn and so I call it Blue Corn House. There is a king size bed upstairs
  • This house is amazing. It's an adobe with a beautiful kitchen, bedrooms, and common area. It's very comfortable. Lamar is a great host. Very easy to work with. It's definitely in real New Mexico. It's close to El Santuario de Chimayo and to El Paragua, a notable restaurant in Espanola. It's not too far from Santa Fe and Abiquiu, too.

    Jeffrey2017-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • We chose Lamar's cozy adobe because it was close to Santa Cruz Lake. We were pleasantly surprised by how cozy and beautiful the home was. We were only a few minutes away from the lake and it made for a great stay. Definitely a good value for us.

  • The Blue Corn House is such a beautiful, peaceful place! My sister and I were in awe with the beautiful detail of the home. Clearly this home was made with love. The host, Lamar, is kind and helpful. When we got in, he came to meet us to help us… We arrived tired and late :-) it is a wonderful location and such a magical part of New Mexico!

  • Staying at Casa Escondida was absolutely what we needed. The staff was welcoming, warm and very helpful. The accommodations were quaint and such a comfortable place to stay, we didn't want to leave! The lovely collection of travel guides and personal recommendations for dining and hiking were great! We stayed in the "Heart of the House" room and enjoyed being right in the center of the action. The daily breakfast was delicious and enjoyed sitting on the patio in the afternoon reading and bird watching. This is such a great location to explore Taos AND Santa Fe. We will definitely be back! • Julie and Scott have a truly beautiful and peaceful home! We appreciated all the little touches like fresh cut flowers, a fridge in the room, snacks, and breakfast foods. Thank you so much for opening your home to us!

  • Excellent location. The hosts are very familiar with New Mexico and they take the time to point out great local spots to visit. I was torn between spending my time visiting the nearby attractions and laying around the house and farm. The contemporary adobe house is one of the most unique places I've ever stayed.

    Michael2011-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay with the Bennett family and they made us feel very welcome and at home. We had the upstairs bedroom and it was great waking up and seeing all the country outside and all the sounds that go along with the country. I felt like Julie could be a very close friend with all of her interest in cooking, running and yoga. I got the chance to help with a food project and loved learning something new. It was a great place to hike, breath the fresh air of the county side. We will plan on staying for another trip another time and I will look forward to talking about receipes with Julie

    Diana2010-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • The location is great. Nearby BLM lands give endless opportunities for runs and sunsets. Super friendly and welcoming hosts.

    Daniel2016-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed one night en route to Santa Fe from an afternoon spent at Ojo Cliente. The accommodations were comfy, despite the barking dogs down below in the backyard... my husband was a bit wary of the steep stairway (without railings) that led up to the loft bedroom -- if you need to make a few trips to the loo during the night that can be a bit daunting... but otherwise, it was a good spot to stay.

    Mario2010-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • The Bennett's provided an incredibly welcoming home. They are astute and passionate people and have a gorgeous setting they reside in. Their adobe is quite charming indeed. Very helpful and generous at giving their time to answer questions and give suggestions. Much appreciated!

    Trevor2012-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • The Bennetts have a welcoming, comfortable, eclectic home in a great location for seeing greater Santa Fe. Julie's enthusiasm and knowledge about the area are a huge bonus! She was able to set us on the right path to really fun adventures in Taos, Oho Caliente and Abiquiu. Homemade preserves for breakfast and water in the room for our desert parched bodies are examples of the extra efforts taken to ensure comfort and enjoyment.

    Jessica2011-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • Julie and Scott are brilliant hosts. The house is spacious and the room where I slept was private and a wonderful place to return to at the end of the day. I got the sense that Julie was perfectly willing to offer as much or as little assistance as asked. It was refreshing to have someone to talk to who is so familiar with the area. When I remember my time in NM I will certainly think of this fantastic house and my very good natured hosts, Julie & Scott. I'd go back in a minute.

  • He greeted us upon arrival and showed us around the house-explaining lock codes, where we could find extra bedding, linens, etc. Parmatma was very friendly and helpful throughout our experience. The property was beautiful! It was fenced in and felt very secluded and safe. We had access to a trail on the property, although we didn't have time during our stay to take advantage of it. The home was very comfortable and met our needs nicely. We look forward to another stay there soon! We all will all highly recommend this property to all of our friends.

    Emily2016-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is a nice, cozy property. My only regret is that it was over 1/2 hour from our destination of Santa Fe. Other than that, it was a very pleasant stay. Great communication throughout.

    Joseph2016-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice quiet place to stay. We loved the hot tub, and the cool mornings. What a beautiful view, we went up to the gazebo to take in the wonderful New Mexico country.

    Rowan2017-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Interior is nicer than the photos in terms of southwest design details and back patio off of kitchen. There are two units (we had the two bedroom); there's a studio that's attached (locked door connecting the units) that was occupied but we never really saw or heard them. It's a cool way to see Española, NM neighborhood. Short drive to Santa Fe Plaza and Bandelier. Fantastic views of the sunset from gazebo. Sleeping with windows open on the cold nights was great. Parmatma was super nice-willing to chat but also private. Great that they allowed our dog--trails just behind the property were very cool. Priced right.

The Casitas are located on the vortex of the Camino Real and the Camino de Paz. We are adjacent to the Holy Cross Church, one of the most historic churches in New Mexico. It is the oldest church in New Mexico and most likely the oldest church in the United States. This place was an old mercantile store on the plaza. I have divided it into two units filled with local hand carved furniture, folk art, local paintings and crafts
There are two units on the property. Camino Real Casita with hot tub may also be available to include for large groups. You have your own driveway in front of the Casita.
  • Kathryn's place was beyond what we expected. It is SO spacious, wonderfully appointed, and super cute. Check in was a breeze and Kathryn is an attentive host. She responses right away and the comfort of her guests is very important. We absolutely LOVED staying here and I will book again in a heartbeat if we're in the area.

    Alice2017-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • As with Kathryn's rear unit in this historic building, the decor, the comfort, the ease, the beautiful funk/furnishings were perfect. I love Kathryn's attention to detail and true caring of her guests. Everything spotless, I adore the little gas stove, the TV nook in this space and the roomy yet cozy vibe of the entire experience. May seem silly, I love my own home BUT after 4 nights here, I hated leaving this morning! I travel with Gracie Dog and after full days exhibiting my art in Abiquiu Studio Tour, the forests and creeks in Truchas are close enough to go have a very private wilderness hike in. I required peace and no crowds and often use any possible excuse to go up the road a ways to beloved Truchas. a stellar experience, if you travel with more guests, family and friends, rent BOTH of Kathryn's units at this location for the grounded and precious perfection they offer. A true Northern New Mexico experiencia!

  • If I could give Kathryn’s casita six stars I would. It was incredibly spacious, lovely and more than we expected. She was very responsive and communicative and we had an incredible weekend

    Adam2017-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay in Espanola, and Kathryn's place is a gem! The house is located in between Taos and Santa Fe so we used it as a base to explore both cities and the surrounding areas. Beautiful driving all around. As far as the property goes, the pictures don't do it justice! The space we stayed in was much more spacious than I anticipated, so we had a lot of room to spread out and make ourselves at home. The decorations and art are so cool and eclectic. To top it all off Kathryn is a great and attentive host!

    Julia2017-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Kathryn's place is beautiful, spacious & has all the comforts of home. Since I was in New Mexico I wanted to stay in a place that captured the flavors of New Mexico. Kathryn's place did just that with all the conveniences of home. I hope to stay with her again.

    Vicki2017-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Always a pleasure. I was lucky enough to book an additional night at Kathryn's, whew! I love the big table in the eating area, the barstools are great. Many things Kathryn collect are inspiring and evoke good memories. Sweet to be by the church and neighbors I spoke to are awesome. Secure, cozy, super clean.

    Rebecca2017-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • We came down to stay at Kathryn's for a concert at the Santa Fe Opera and the location was perfect. Its a nice property and it is well kept. I would definitely stay here again if another good concert comes up.

    Craig2017-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Kathryn was a great host; she was very responsive when I called or text. The place and its decor stays true to its location and rich Spanish influence. The historic church next door is a must see! I had a pleasant stay and would recommend this place!

  • Hari's house was the perfect place for our family to stay while exploring the area. The house has many unique items and was a comfortable space to come back to after a long day out. The kids loved the yard and the hot tub under the stars was really special for us since we come from an area with so much more light pollution.

    Debra2017-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Hari was a responsive and considerate host. The property is in a secluded suburban area with great access to White Rock, Epaniola and hiking throughout the area. Dependable solid signal wifi throughout the house, private parking and a fully stocked kitchen on arrival. The property is thoroughly decorated with an asian/indian flair and has a lovely back porch that you can sit and observe the stars from. It had plenty of room for my three friends and I as we backpacked the trails of New Mexico. Thank you Hari and best of luck!

  • Great place owned by great people. The jacuzzi is wonderful, and the bed comfortable.

  • Everything it says it is and more! Great spot, easy to find, awesome hot tub, and very private, comfortable area with lots of good space!

  • Annelise and family's space was ABOVE AND BEYOND what we even expected from the description. The trip was for me and a colleague to go to Ojo Calliente for a day. We ended up booking the day of arrival and arriving an hour early but Annelise had the key for us on our way to the springs and her family was adorable. Location: 30 minutes from Ojo Caliente hot springs, very very reasonable. Just off the main road from many stores, restaurants, gas stations and 5 minutes from absolutely anything else you could need. Was slightly concerned because the road was busier than expected but never heard a peep of traffic. Room: The friend I went with is extremely picky about cleanliness and she was so impressed with the space! Bed was perfect, couch was comfy, bathroom was cute, shower was clean with a neat adjustable showerhead, enough towels for the hot tub and showers. We were only there one night but could see spending several days to explore the area. The hot tub really drew us to the listing and it was nice (even after a day at the hot springs) to enjoy the jets and lovely hot tub room. The water was crystal clear. I also appreciated the hypoallergenic, natural products used in this household as someone with a lot of allergies. We will be recommending to all of our friends and coworkers!

  • This is a sweet place to stay with everything you need for a restful and relaxing environment. Centrally located and easy to find, close to anything you might need. I didn't use the hot tub but it looked like a great one. Annalise was so helpful and flexible with my check in & check out. I was very grateful!

  • Very good price. Best for short term. Nice goodies were in apt for guests.

  • Cute comfortable, nice host, easy parking. Loved the use of hot tub.

  • Very nice place. Hot tub was great. Really nice hosts and a great deal.

    Whitney2017-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • I arrived to Annalise and Abraham's home during a city wide black out after a wind storm! They were kind enough to put candles and a flash light out for me. I found the studio apartment clean and with everything you would need. I did not hear a peep from their adjacent home which shares a wall with the studio. The hot tub was a nice amenity though I did not use it. It is very well located if you are exploring Northern New Mexico and is exactly mid-way between Taos and Santa Fe. Espanola has the best traditional food and green chile - probably better than Santa Fe. Espanola is also the hub of Kundalini yoga (The 3HO community hosts World Peace Day in the hills above the valley in the summer) and the Eight Northern Indian Pueblos, so it's a good location for access to pueblo feast days and festivals. They are a lovely young family and I'm sorry that I did not have more time to connect with them. Their place is a great value!

  • Great historic home! Fascinating history, felt like we were in a museum with many family photos, art and memorabilia. I stayed in the house with 10 close friends visiting for a wedding nearby and it was comfortable for us all. There are 2 bathrooms (3 showers) and one of the bathrooms is only accessible through the master bedroom. Great communication and easy arrival.

  • Super grand property with a lot of history. Pool table and living room was an absolute blast. Everything was well stocked and the owner was very responsive. Stayed for nearly 2 weeks and will stay again if in the area!

Our mountain retreat near Chimayo offers endless views from the living area, the master floor, and two guest bedrooms. A peaceful sanctuary and architectural icon in a private gated area 5 miles from a paved road awaits your visit.
  • Deborah's home is comfortable, spacious and inviting. Our family had a lovely time staying there. The view is breathtaking! Although it is quite remote and secluded, the home is in a central location for traveling around Northern New Mexico. We enjoyed being there very much!

    Debbie2017-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • It feels a bit like its own private island – just with all the comforts of an elegant five star retreat that feels more like home. Turn off the main access road and after 5 miles of rolling desert hills, you instantly know you’re someplace special. Breeze through gated access and round a hilltop cliff and you catch your first view of the house against the stunning backdrop of the valley. (I may have fallen out of my chair except I had a seatbelt on). Inside you can't help but marvel at the details that add to the charm of staying in such a unique and beautiful space - sculpture and art both adorn the long massive hallway with its cheery yellows and turquoise landscapes -The living room with its soft modern furniture in complimentary grays, leather chairs, salmon red accents and touches of cultural sculpture. Forget a good book? There are plenty to choose from in the library like hallway. The atmosphere is nothing but warm and cozy which is hard to achieve in a house this size. There are spectacular views from just about every corner. The backside of the house opens up to a porch acting like a second living space, connecting every room on the first level but designed in such a way that each room feels like it has its own private balcony. The granite kitchen contains everything you could possibly require whether you’re looking to simply flip omelets for two or create a dinner for 10. While you can be fully connected, the atmosphere will inspire you to throw your phone in a basket and forget it’s there until you leave. At night, all that’s left to do is sink into the softest sofa in front of a fire and watch the unending stars come out through the floor to ceiling windows…or better yet from the porch with a hot toddy. You’ve never see a starry night sky like this! When you’re not enjoying the view, you might spend your afternoons hiking (sunrise is especially breathtaking) and in the fall collecting piñon seeds from the blooming trees (they look like pine cones). The beauty of the location: you’re in the middle of your own private valley, but Santa Fe and its art galleries are a hop, skip, and a jump away. Also Chimayo, a lovely town nearby, chalked full of history. And The High Road to Taos - its charming towns and views will spoil you. Deborah couldn’t have been more of a joy to correspond with. Such a lovely and gracious host. She’ll make sure you have everything you need for a perfect stay. You’ll feel like a true guest in her home. Having hopped around 36 countries I can honestly say this is one of the most special stays I’ve been blessed to experience. A beautiful choice for families, getaways, couples, and adventurers. Deborah, thank you for the lovely stay in your spectacular home!

  • What an incredible experience! This lovely home was a wonderful retreat for my family. The listing did a beautiful job of describing all of the great amenities. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. They were readily accessible to answer any questions we had. They are very generous and have all that you would need to enjoy a relaxing getaway. The views were so inspiring! It was wonderful to wake up in a cozy bed and just look out the window to breathtaking views of a valley and mountains in the background. We spent countless hours in front of the wood burning fireplace. My husband and pup took long hikes around the property. The fully equipped kitchen was great to cook Christmas dinner. All in all, a fantastic experience and we are hoping to come back in the future.

  • Deborah and Coley’s house is every bit as remarkable as the pictures suggest. It’s an awesome bit of architecture, improbably but perfectly situated and designed to provide sweeping views of the sort you usually need to spend a couple hours of hiking to achieve. It’s furnished and decorated warmly and outfitted with absolutely everything I could possibly need. It’s just perfect if you’re looking to be out of town and enjoy the incredible scenery. I had Spring weather, but I’d love to be there again with the snow. Getting to the house is easier than one would imagine given the sense of remoteness you feel once there. It’s an easy, relatively short drive from Santa Fe (perhaps 40 mins all told from the Plaza or Farmers Market), and the last 10 minutes on the well-serviced dirt road posed no difficulties, though a 4x4 is recommended. And its location proved a great jumping off point for exploring the sights between Santa Fe and Taos. In Deborah and Coley, you have the most generously hospitable and interesting hosts imaginable. I typically rent out a place to myself, but I consider it amazing good luck that they were there and welcomed me as a sharing guest. They went above and beyond the call to provide invaluable local advice that really made my visit special. But in fact, getting to know them and enjoying their company turned out to be the best part of the trip.

    Marc2016-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • Getting up to the house was a bit difficult because of the ice and snow, but the overall stay was absolutely amazing! The house was gorgeous and looked exactly like the pictures. The view from the balconies were beautiful as well. The kitchen was very spacious, so cooking Christmas dinner for 6 people was a breeze. If you're looking for a place to stay that has complete solitude and is quiet, then this is the house for you. The only thing is if you have multiple people coming, then you should probably bring an extra TV for the bedroom as there are only 2 available (one in the living room and one in the master bedroom). There are no TVs in the guest bedrooms. Other than that, everything was phenomenal.

  • Beautiful and remote, but easily accessed. A great location for getting to either Santa Fe or Taos. Views are spectacular and the house photos are accurate.

    John2017-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • This house is beautiful. In person, the space seemed even larger than described, and the view more breathtaking. This house is clean and modern, and great for large groups/families. It is far enough away to allow for boisterous celebrations that may get a little loud at times, but it's close enough to civilization to have everything you may need. It is at the end of a dirt road, but none of the vehicles in our group had trouble getting to it, even in the rain. Check in and checkout were easy (thanks for the checklist!). I would definitely recommend this house for groups staying in the area. Book it, you won't regret it!!

    Ashley2017-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • The place was clean and beautiful. The property was exactly as described and the views were spectacular. Our host, Tony, was responsive to every question. The place was well provisioned for treating it like a typical hotel stay (i.e. soap and shampoo in the washrooms, dish soap, toilet paper, ...). It has a well equipped kitchen too! This was our first AirBnb experience and it was amazing. Thanks Tony!

    Robert2016-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Tony's place was great. Relaxing, serene & a perfect spot for our sorority sister reunion weekend. The views are spectacular, and the house provided an oasis outside of downtown Santa Fe (which was very crowded for the Native American Indian Market the weekend we were there). Tony was also responsive and had suggestions about what to do in Santa Fe. Thanks again for the wonderful stay, Tony!

  • Very charming and well-located spot for exploring northern New Mexico. We appreciated the peaceful and quiet property, with plenty of stargazing. The casita itself was perfect for two; we had everything we needed and appreciated Bob & Mary's warm welcome and hospitality.

    Erica2017-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • This property is beautiful, and in a peaceful location. The casita has a perfect layout for having a home away from home in a traditional New Mexico style. Having the kitchen, separate living room, and a private patio are all nice conveniences especially if there are two of you and one likes to get up earlier than the other and you don't want to disturb the other. I enjoyed rolling out my yoga mat on the patio for morning stretches and the daybed in the living room is a great place for an afternoon nap or curling up with a book. There is access to a common area with grill, firepit, and laundry which are great bonuses. Bob is a great host and helps guests feel at home.

    Melinda2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first AirB&B experience and we were pleasantly surprised with our stay at Casa Nambe. Mary and Bob have tastefully decorated their adobe casita and filled it with all the amenities to make you feel at home. They were very friendly and shared information about places to see in the area. As this is in a remote area, it is very quite (except for the occasional dog barking in the distance). Cell phone reception was often spotty. Their internet was very good and Bob was helpful a couple of times with the TV service. The mattress on the bed needs replacing, as it is no longer firm. All in all, this was a good stay!

    Chris2017-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Very quaint and secluded. Mary was a great host and great with communication. It’s quite a drive away from town so if you are looking for a nice country get away this is for you! The sights were beautiful from the front patio and the decor was authentic Southwestern! Would stay again!

    Melanie2017-10-26T00:00:00Z

The architecturally designed house is located a few miles north of Santa Fe in Nambe' on the scenic Taos High Road. It is central to much of the cultural and wildlife areas or N. New Mexico, being 50 minutes to Taos, 10 minutes to the opera, 15 minutes to the Rio Grande Gorge and much more. Sitting on 3/4 acres of fenced yard, the house comes with its own private tennis court. Well behaved pets are welcome. We have lived for many years abroad and welcome people from other lands and cultures.
  • Thank you Phil & Barbara for being such great hosts. Your stylish adobe casita with fireplace and smell of pinyon wood will be remembered. We will try to visit your place next year.

  • We loved our stay and are very sad it wasn't longer! The casita is in a very quiet location just outside of Santa Fe in Nambé. The entire guest house was extremely clean and we really appreciated the kitchen with all of its appliances! My favorite part about the house was definitely the fireplace, we got a ton of use out of it. The yard was really nice for our dog as well. The Roku television was appreciated. Enjoy happy hour watching a spectacular New Mexico sunset or just relax in your own private wall courtyard. The Nambe Casita is the perfect getaway when you want to explore Northern New Mexico but still be near Santa Fe. Abobe cottage has all the local charm with a wood burning kiva fireplace, vigas, lovely furnishings, well stocked kitchen, high thread count cotton sheets, fluffy cotton towels, washer and dryer and other amenities. Complimentary tea, coffee and a welcome bottle of wine.
Cute adobe casita (small house) outside of Santa Fe, New Mexico along the high road to Taos. It is decorated in a Santa Fe style with original art and handmade quilts. The casita has one bedroom with a queen sized bed, and two twin sized bancos (built in couches) that make up into beds. The main room has a wood burning fireplace, sitting area and table for four. There is a small kitchen, private bath with tub and shower, and a washer and dryer. The casita has its own entrance and a walled garden and patio. Enjoy organic produce from the garden when in season and take walks right out the door to the Nambe River or to the arroyo and badlands. A welcome bottle of wine or non-alcoholic beverage is included. Casita is out in the country and has lovely views of sunsets to the west over the Baranca. There is a grocery store and small shopping area about 3 miles away and several good restaurants in the same area. This is a great location if you want a quiet setting that is in an ideal location to explore Northern New Mexico. There are 5 near by Native American Pueblos and numerous historic Hispanic villages. Day trips include the High Road to Taos, Anasazi ruins, wineries, and outdoor activities such as hiking, skiing, rock climbing, river rafting, horseback riding and mountain biking. The casita is 17 miles from the Santa Fe with its famous museums, galleries, shopping and restaurants. Local phone and wireless internet are included. There is also a DVD player, monitor and video library along with a resource library.
The Casita is located at the edge of the historic Nambe village and is the location is very rural in character. We share a road with our neighbors behind us and you can walk down this road to the arroyo and hogbacks beyond. You can also cross NM 503 and take a dirt road that goes down to the Nambe River where there is a path along the river. The Casita is fairly quiet. Most guest love to enjoy the famous New Mexico sunsets from the patio and also our wonderful night sky. The Nambe Valley is a lush and green oasis in the high desert. Nights will always be much cooler than the days. New Mexico has a high ratio of sunshine days and even in the winter days can be warm and pleasant.
  • The spot was lovely and quiet. The casita was comfortable and clean. Julia was an excellent host and we enjoyed when she stopped by to make sure things were going well.

    Michael 2016-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Julia's casita in Nambe is wonderful in every way. It is close enough to Santa Fe, yet without the congestion and bustle of the small city. The beauty of Nambe reminds me of why I loved Northern NM many years ago when I lived in the area. Julia was tremendously helpful. When a friend came for a visit, she told us which restaurants are best and which days are best to visit various places (the hot springs at Ojo Caliente, for example). The casita itself is lovely. Julia has a background in architecture and design, and this shows in the lovely decor of her casita. I was in the casita for a month and was completely comfortable in every way throughout the month. The kitchen has everything anyone could need for a longer stay. I shall definitely return to Julia's casita whenever I return to Northern NM, one of my very favorite places in the world.

    Ann2017-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • Our host contacted me prior to the trip as well as during our stay to make sure everything was ok. Julia provided us very good information on local restaurants as well as providing a choice of beer or wine upon our arrival. We enjoyed the locally brewed Santa Fe beer. Will recommend Julia's casita to any of my friends visiting the Santa Fe area.

This is a large elegant traditional adobe. It's a guest wing to a family home on a private dog friendly ranch. It offers a private separate entrance. This is a real adobe with thick walls that keep it cool in the summer and provide old world charm. It has two original fireplaces, one in the eat-in kitchen, and one in the main room. There is a beautiful hand painted king sized bed and a Euro Lounger. Easy access to Santa Fe, Los Alamos, Taos, Bandelier.
Very large space (900 plus sq feet) on quiet ranch, easy place to stop with big vehicles and pets. If traveling with friends or if looking for a smaller place also check out The Casita Pojoaque on Airbnb for another casita on the same ranch.
We are very close to Buffalo Thunder resort and casino as well as Gabriel's restaurant which offers authentic New Mexico cuisine and has a fun bar. The ranch setting offers beautiful sunsets, large cottonwood trees and and New Mexico's big skies.
  • A real gem! Stunning accommodations. Host very responsive and great instructions. This is truly in the spirit of Airbnb. Unique and hassle free. Do make sure you watch the sunsets from the patio chairs as well!

  • We had a wonderful time and can't wait to come back to visit. The house and setting were beautiful and we would recommend this place to anyone coming to the area.

  • Cary's place has a ton of character. It was nice and quiet, private and secure. Kitchen & bath were very clean, nice hot water for showers. I loved the layout, the doors and the decorations. The bed was really comfortable too. I loved when we first got there, and we weren't sure where to go, a black cat ran through the little adobe wall entry way. It was an enchanting place to just relax and stargaze. I wish I could have stayed longer.

  • I had a really lovely time staying here and would definitely stay again!

    Jacqueline2017-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely place and a great value. It's about 25 minutes outside of Santa Fe, on a quiet stretch of property just of rt. 285 with a few adobe homes scattered around - peaceful, lovely, beautiful night skies. The casita is part of a larger structure built around a large inner courtyard - lovely place to sit outside and read, think, look at the stars. The house is very comfortable, and tastefully furnished, with plenty of space to share a meal either in the kitchen, or outside on the closed in terrace. Thick adobe walls, gorgeous exposed beams, two built-in fireplaces (one in the kitchen, one in the living room). It was all very clean when we arrived; and check in couldn't be simpler.

    Kathryn2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and tranquil ranch to stay at. We loved coming to a nice and clean casita after a tiresome road trip. It is very quiet and peaceful. It is decorated very nice. True New Mexican charm! The king size bed was plenty of space and very comfortable. The 16 year old did not fit on the couch that turns into a bed but thankfully there was a huge air mattress we used. It was very comfortable as well! I loved all the little snacks that were provided which was great to have for a 2 year old and 16 year old.

Cary responds quickly to any inquiries, and once we arrived, we had everything we needed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Mountain trails and activities in Santa Fe are within short driving distance. We definitely would enjoy staying here again!

Welcome to our 4 bedroom light filled farmhouse with gorgeous views of the Sangre de Cristo mountains, Truchas Peak and Baldy peak. We are located 15 minutes to downtown Santa Fe AND Los Alamos, near the Nambé waterfall hike. Be close to it all and yet enjoy the solitude of 2.5 acres with gorgeous cottonwood trees, a hot tub, an orchard, garden and chicken coop for fresh morning eggs! My place is good for couples, families (with kids), and big groups. There is also a fold out couch.
Our two story house has a screened in porch with a HUGE farm table for dining, hot tub outside, a large and fully equipped kitchen, formal living room with fireplace, den with elliptical machine and flat screen for movie watching and a nursery and child's room for the little ones.
Located at the end of a quiet country lane near the village of Nambé. We are also near the famous restaurant, Rancho de Chimayo, as featured in the NYtimes and Boston Globe. https://mobile.nytimes.com/1996/10/30/garden/starting-the-day-with-some-spice.html https://www.bostonglobe.com/lifestyle/food-dining/2015/01/13/high-road-taos-stop-for-celebrated-new-mexican-food/SrzqGZn6Yx9LpFcrUQ7g4M/story.html
  • Sasha's home is kid-centric and perfect for any family hoping to relax and unwind near Sante Fe. Her house is nestled in a quiet and picturesque community, and virtually every corner of the house is set up for relaxation and repose (our favorites were the hammock out front and eating meals in the screened-in porch). Thanks, Sasha!

  • It was a beautiful location. Very quiet surroundings. Lots of open space in the home that was delightful and very eclectic colorful decorations. Piece of advice for anyone renting this location if you are sensitive to scents or products consider bringing your own personal products.

  • Our stay at Sasha's home was exactly what we needed! Her home was in a quiet place outside of Santa Fe which gave us plenty of privacy! It was perfect for our weekend snowboard get-away. Clean home that was well decorated and wonderfully cozy. Highly recommend!

    Zoe2017-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful family home, spacious, and located just north of Santa Fe.

    William2017-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • The house is gorgeous, first and foremost. View of the mountains outside the back of the house, windows everywhere, cool breezes.. The covered back porch with big dining table was beyond lovely for our dinner as well. Our family of 5 (2 adults, 3 kids) were very comfortable. The house is about 20 minutes north of Santa Fe- truly only a short trip on the highway to get into town. It might be slightly hard to find the first time as it is not physically along the street; look for the large black wrought-iron gate (with birds) and turn down what looks like an alleyway. The house is on the end. This is a more rural community so you may hear the occasional rooster or other wildlife. Coming from a big city, we thought that was a nice change of pace! Everyone was very friendly and easy to communicate with. Thank you for helping make our summer trip great!

nestled amongst the pines and the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, on the high road to Taos, lies the village of Truchas. The village was founded in the year 1754 by the King of Spain who granted land to several families (of which many still remain). There are numerous artisans that live and work in the village.
i have two bedrooms each with wireless internet, the larger of the two has a wood burning stove. both rooms have a flat screen TV. a small library with internet access (where i serve fresh brewed coffee, tea, fresh fruit & yogurt, homemade biscuits & jam) also has a wood burning stove for those chilly winter mornings. WE DO NOT OFFER KITCHEN FACILITIES....there is a refrigerator and microwave along with a toaster oven...laundry facilities are available on premises. there is a great restaurant, recently opened, that is a mile from the property....hiking and biking out the front door....hot springs, skiing are minutes away. if you are an artist, writer or someone who enjoys the clean mountain air, you will find paradise in our home and the magic of Truchas and Northern New Mexico.

Enjoy the 1000 square feet private recluse, which includes: a fireplace, kitchen, Queen sized bed, desk area, dining area, two baths with showers, WiFi and a beautiful private heated pool with outstanding views of the magnificent Sangre de Christo mountains, perfect romantic hideaway yet with easy access to Highway 84/285.
  • Kay's place is very private and comfortable, just as advertised. The location is central to many favorite spots in Northern New Mexico.

    Glenn2016-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Kay was super sweet. She made me and my husband feel so welcomed and her place is so beautiful and cozy! We will definitely be back.

    Francisco2016-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Kay's place is just what we were looking for in an anniversary get away. The setting was beautiful, peaceful, and filled with wildlife. The landscaping and pool were very enchanting. It was just enough out of Santa Fe to allow for a very relaxing feel, and yet right off the highway and centrally located for lots of amazing day trips. Kay was an amazing hostess. The little personal touches such as fresh flowers, fluffy towels, and complimentary breakfast of yogurt, granola, and fresh fruit were so perfect. Her beautiful art work adds to the ambience of the place. She made it easy to come and go as we pleased, and was right next door if we needed anything. We enjoyed visiting with her and getting local advice on things to do and places to eat. We highly recommend Kay's place for a romantic getaway.

  • We loved absolutely everything! Mss McCarthy is such a wonderful person! She took care of us as we were her own children. The ranch is even better than on the pictures and the view from the pool is breathtaking. We were si sad to leave but we will come back as soon as we can. We love you Mss McCarthy !

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Rancho Luna Loba. Kay was tremendously helpful, prompt, friendly, and accommodating from the moment we booked. It's a great, quiet location with a lot of space, just a short drive away from Santa Fe. The decor—art, landscaping, everything—is charming and unique. On a hot day, it's hard to stay out of the pool!

    Matthew2016-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay. It was quiet, peaceful and secluded. The mountain views were impressive during the day, and the evening sky was filled with infinite stars. The space was rustic yet comfy. The 15 min drive to Santa Fe separates you from tourists--which is a good thing. We enjoyed sitting around the pool, the bed was comfortable (and we are picky), and the screened in living space was unique. It was just the right blend of indoor/outdoor.

    Sirus2016-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Relaxing, quiet, and with spectacular views, Kay's place was a unique find. Make sure to check out Los Alamos, and leave time to relax by the pool! Loved the southwest-style indoor-outdoor living space.

Just 20 minutes from the historic plaza in the heart of Santa Fe lies a charming Mews cottage. Approached by a private lane surrounded by magnificent Cottonwood trees lies your sanctuary of serenity. Vega's and a Kiva fireplace await your arrival.
  • A beautiful little nest very close to the Santa Fe Opera and right on the High Road to Taos; also close to the amazing Bandelier National Monument. Jack was a very responsive host. We had an issue with wi-fi which he fixed immediately. We loved the secluded spirit and the old-fashioned feel of the house.

Pojoaque, Santa Fe County, 25 minutes north of The City of Santa Fe, on US 84/285, in the Rio Grande Valley. In the sticks. It sleeps two, in king size bed, + one, in a single bed in an adjacent bedroom. Bathroom with shower/tub and endless hot water. Kitchen with pots & pans. Wifi, AppleTV, and sound. A great spot for visiting Santa Fe, Los Alamos, Taos, Bandelier, and Abiquiu.
800 square feet. Adobe structure. It was the old family house. Mostly quiet, although you will hear distant traffic and dogs barking or coyotes howling at night. Last property on a private road, so there is no through traffic.
Pojoaque is an Indian reservation - 15 miles north of Santa Fe, and the Pojoaque Pueblo has their tribal headquarter here, as well as grocery store, casinos, restaurants, gallery and golf courses. This is in the country, and there is livestock around. It takes 25 minutes to drive to Santa Fe, 25 minutes to Los Alamos and about one hour to Taos. If you have not been to New Mexico, this is a great spot. If you have been to New Mexico before, I think you will feel at home.
  • What an incredibly comfortable and welcoming space! I cannot recommend it highly enough. The location is perfect for a Santa Fe day trip, and there are tons of beautiful places to hike nearby. The kitchen is big and bright and well stocked, sleep is deep and restful in the giant king size bed, and watching the chickens fling their bodies from the low fence was highly entertaining. Knut was helpful and friendly, and has a knack for hosting and hospitality. This place is gold!

    Kate2016-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • Once again, Knut delivered!! Wonderful place!! My parents came to visit from Florida and stayed here last year. We had done sightseeing last year. Knut' place provided a quiet retreat for us to spend time as a family. Knut has always been gracious and respected our privacy. Yet, he is wonderful to talk to, so we invited him over and had a great conversation. Knut's place is great and Knut is a wonderful host. Highly recommend!!

    Troy2017-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • If you are visiting the Taos and Santa Fe area this is THE place you want to stay! Very private and Knut is great! All kinds of nice little touches. You won't be sorry!

  • My dad and I stayed in Knut's guesthouse as we were road tripping through Santa Fe on our way to Cincinnati as I was starting my 3rd year of college. Perfect in space and comfortability. Lovely little casita. :)

  • Knut was a great host. He welcomed us warmly on arrival and shorter after brought us fresh baked bread. The house was beautiful and felt like home. Quiet and well equipped this was a place you easily stay for longer. Great stay!

    Cathy2016-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Knut was so friendly and his casita is extremely spacious and bright. The space is very well equipped and we were fortunate that the space had portable air conditioners as it was hot. We drove to the Santa Fe Plaza every day and found it very manageable. The only slight drawback was that the casita is located in the desert which was pretty buggy, bugs managed to find their way in around gaps under the door, etc. Nothing scary though. The overall value for the casita is incredible, and it is very well priced. I would recommend it highly.

    Genevieve2016-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • This is a little slice of heaven right outside of Santa Fe. So comfortable, clean and an incredible value! Knut and Chaco are great hosts who pay attention to every detail! We had a great time!

  • The place is just as described. It's tucked away, private, clean and quiet. We felt right at home while exploring the local outdoors. Knut was super helpful and even provided fresh eggs! Overall very nice experience.

  • Everything was outstanding. The place exactly what I wanted to return to after a long day at the conference and tradeshow at the casino. Elaine is warm and hospitable. Her husband as well. I'll stay there again if i come back to Santa Fe. The listing was half the cost of the hotel and twice as nice.

  • Eileen and Jason were in the middle of their wine tasting period when we arrived, but Eileen dropped every thing to show us around -- not just the cottage we stayed in, but also the vineyards. We then joined the wine tasting -- free to those who stay there -- and Jason walked us through the selections of 3 whites and 3 reds. The cottage where we stayed rested at the end of a grape arbor and was charming. Fair warning -- you will have to drive a way to find good restaurants, but that was a minor concern for us. And AT&T cell phone service does not reach the cottage, but Internet was fine.

    Aaron2016-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • You will not be disappointed! This was a wonderful get-a-way!
