Places to stay in Chimacum
The Wisteria Suite is perched above the organic garden. It’s your own personal second story apartment with a private deck as well. Located a mile up the road in a second growth forest on top of the ridge in Chimacum, 12 miles south of Port Townsend. We are a small family farm with two dogs, two cats and 9 chickens. This private accommodation has it's own fireplace, 3/4 bathroom and a kitchenette. There is a very weak internet connection here so bring your books, games and walking shoes.
Van Trojen is a dead end road and the peace and quiet are wonderful. Bird song and bald eagle spotting are two of my favorite things. We had an eagle land just the other day. What a sight. Also the light as it filters through the giant cedar trees creating moments of fleeting beauty. The vegetable and flower gardens are starting to take off. Feel free to walk around and explore.
Port Townsend is 12 miles north of us. A short 15 minute drive. It is a Victorian Seaport and Artist Community. Finn River is 5 minutes away and features cider, wood fired pizza and live music. The corner store is a treat and just 5 minutes down the road as well Farm's Reach, which serves a great breakfast. They also have amazing baked goods. The Spruce Goose is a cafe at the small airport and does a nice breakfast while you watch the planes come and go.
  • Super great spot for a city break! Beautiful garden, trees, and light, and one of the best stocked kitchens of a rental I've stayed in. Supremely comfortable and cozy, this spot is a gem.

  • Lauri and Dani’s place was exactly what we wanted. A quaint and cozy spot close to Port Townsend. We enjoyed our evenings relaxing and reading after daily outings.

  • The Wisteria Suite is very special! It’s adorable, roomy, and comfortable. The land is gorgeous and Laurie, Dani, and family are terrific! We stayed here on our way to Alaska and returned two weeks later. Our daughter and her boyfriend live nearby off the grid. We cooked dinner and visited here several nights, which worked beautifully. We’ll be back!

  • This is a lovely suite full of great little details. We had a relaxing time and enjoyed the the peaceful beauty of the deck and surrounding area. Very highly recommend!!

  • What a lovely, magical place! From the personal, genuine greeting to the magical wysteria-entwined staircase to the garden open for the pickin' to the beautiful, creative landscaping... we had a wonderful time and felt like visiting friends. Thank you, Laurie!!

  • Had a great time staying here! The space was super cute and cozy, everything we needed for a nice trip away! We also had breakfast at Farms Reach Cafe multiple times during our stay based on the awesome recommendation.

  • Laurie and Dani’s place is fabulous! It’s cosy and cute and roomy all at the same time. Worked out wonderfully for cooking and visiting with our daughter and boyfriend who live nearby. We’re returning in 2 1/2 weeks! Thank you!

Beautiful vintage Streamline Duke (from the designers of Airstream) located right across the street from Finnriver Farm and Cidery. Wake up to the sunrise over the farm fields and chat with the chickens while you drink your coffee. In the evening, stroll over for a cider and music while watching the sun set over the peek-a-boo Olympic mountains. On your walk home, keep an eye for owls swooping through the fields at twilight. We can help with special requests too -e.g bonfires or tent camping.
We wanted to note that there is a small working shower but the hot water tank is small so don't expect to take super long showers! ;)
Where to start! Finnriver Farm and Cidery is located right across the street and have all sorts of great food and libations. Red Dog Farm is also right across the street with a great little produce stand. A quarter mile walk down the road is "downtown" Chimacum with a fantastic corner store full of local goods, the best bakery and coffee shop (Farm's Reach Cafe) and a great tap house (the Keg and I). Also a great location on the cider/wine bicycle tour!
  • This place is just downright darling - the interior's details are fabulous, and Kara has added the perfect touches to make it a hospitable stay, with local coffee and the cutest guest book we've ever seen. Kara gave us several good recommendations of their favorite places to check out in the area, and she was always quick to respond to any questions we had. Would definitely stay here again!

    Katie2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Adorable, vintage charm near wonderful cideries! Don’t be discouraged about the trailer, it was better than I expected, and It was super clean even by my OCD standards. My only regret is that we didn’t stay longer. It was a chilly night but Kara had a space heater going for us when we arrived which kept us toasty warm. The beds were comfy, perfect for a ladies weekend. So many fun things to do around or within a short drive. I cannot wait to be back!

    Wendy2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the Perch was wonderful! My son and I made a little adventure out of the day off from school. Kara and Chris’ Airstream was the perfect place to stay for a day of pumpkin picking, cider tasting, and some free-range kiddo fun. Kara was incredibly hospitable and we had everything that we needed and more! I highly recommend staying and we will be back.

    Migee2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay in this little cutie! We enjoyed the original touches, outdoor seating and 2 minute walk to Finnriver. The hot water was HOT, which is a good thing. If you are staying during fall/winter, remember to turn the heater on before you go to bed; we didn’t and we got very chilled at 3am. We brought an extra blanket just in case and we used it.

    Hattie2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Even more adorable than the pictures can convey -- the chickens were so nice out our front door and the charm of the trailer makes for a unique stay. The place has all the things you need for a trip: games, storage, a cute nook for dining -- pastoral views out every window. Being across from Finn River Cider was great -- you can literally walk across the street to sample ciders. And Chimacum Farm Stand Market is one of the most adorable farm markets around. A great place for a getaway. And host Kara greeted us warmly and was super communicative. Highly recommend.

    Becky2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • This Kara’s spot is beautiful, comfortable, and such a great spot to stay when traveling in the Olympic Peninsula! Waking up to lush green fields and the sounds of the nature, truly a way to wind down and relax.

    Stephani2019-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • I’ve stayed at Kara’s trailer twice now and the second visit was even better than the first. The accommodations are cozy and Kara is super responsive and helpful. We spent a lot of time on this visit at nearby Finn River Cider. It was such a fun weekend! We will definitely be back.

    Molly2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really great stay! The trailer was cute and very clean, and we loved the carpet/no shoes. The bathroom was a lot bigger than expected! I can see that someone who is 6” would find it a little tight, but I’m 5”6 and found the shower a good size. The only thing is that the bathroom door doesn’t close all the way, so you’ll get to know your travel buddies really well! Not much of a problem for us though! We enjoyed spending time on the deck! Kara and her husband were super responsive. It does get a little chilly at night, so definitely bundle up. I think there was a heater, but we didn’t use it. Would’ve loved a space heater outside because the deck is adorable!

One Month Minimum ! Large Apartment in Victorian Era Duplex near Courthouse. Very Quiet + Convenient. Large Bedroom with full size brass bed and sitting area with full size foldout couch/bed. Parlor with couch/fold out full bed and extra Bedroom with full size bed available for $20/night ea.
We like to share our house using one booking per month, start times flexible. But let us know whatever your scheduling needs are! We accommodate longer stays. Most of the first floor of a two story 1890's Victorian House. This large suite of rooms is private and has front door access direct to easy street parking.
This neighborhood is very quiet. A nice short walk to the Food Coop, the beach at the Boat Haven or Uptown and Downtown.
  • This place is in a great location to get to the food coop and library. Along with various other small businesses in Port Townsend. Keep in mind, there is no microwave—we still make up bottles, so we had to get creative. It stayed very warm and was a great price for us to stay while looking for permanent housing. Loved being able to go on walks in the evenings. This is a great place for those who enjoy vintage environments. Ron was amazing at letting us know about the local area and very understanding! Easy check in. I would recommend this for a couple (possibly with one child) or pay for the additional room if you can! We had three children five and under and probably should have sprung for the extra room!

    Darbie2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Ron and his wife are very accommodating. The house is in a wonderful location, and it was fun walking into town everyday. I had everything I needed

  • This place was great! Wonderful location, comfortable space and great hosts!

    Tom2019-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second time at Ron Paul's place. It's the first floor of an older house, furnished with antiques and exceptionally clean. The location is terrific--a quick walk to downtown, Aldrich Market, and Farmers' Market. Bonus points for fawns in the backyard!

    Suzanne2018-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment is inside of a large older house with plenty of space and privacy. It's a bit funky, in that old house sort of way, but also charming and low key. The apartment is in a really great location that's walking distance to everything downtown. I acclimated quickly and felt right at home for the duration of my stay. The host was very kind and quick with his responses. The storage space was more than sufficient thanks to lots of built-in shelving by the front entrance. The full size kitchen was well equipped and there was even a backup refrigerator in the laundry room if the unit's mini-fridge got full. Overall I enjoyed my stay and felt this listing was of a very good value.

    Tiffany2017-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Quaint, charming place furnished with antiques. Very clean. Nicely-supplied kitchen. Pretty walk to downtown and uptown. Fawns in the backyard!

    Suzanne2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is spacious but has a cozy feeling. I enjoyed the short walk to Uptown and downtown--just a few short blocks. Ron is the ideal host and responded immediately to ensure my stay was enjoyable. I love the light in this apartment, lots of windows that make it feel airy and bright.

    Debra2017-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great host. Fully equipped space. WiFi, hot water, kitchen, washer and dryer. Deer in the back yard. Convenient to everything Port Townsend. Could not be more satisfied.

Welcome to Eagle’s Perch. A private upper studio apartment with expansive water views on 3 sides! It has a newly remodeled private large shower/bathroom, new cozy kitchenette. Access to our property hot tub on request- we want to discuss cleaning protocol at this time before use. Our property boasts direct lagoon access and is located just across the street from the canal and the beach! It makes a perfect getaway for a couple, small family or for a solitary retreat.
Eagle's Perch is a wonderful studio with large picture windows to take in the water views on 3 sides. Who else can see a lagoon, canal and Puget Sound from their bed? It features an ensuite bathroom with walk-in shower, comfortable queen-sized bed, bistro dining set, a twin sized day bed and kitchenette with sink and hot plate/fridge/microwave/coffee and staples for simple cooking. We know how stressful these times are and take to heart that every surface, pillow, plate, door handle (even the soap dispenser is cleaned!) is properly cleaned and sanitized. We use seventh generation disinfectant spray and wipes (natural brand AND 99.9% effective). Even your door key pad and key has been cleaned. Keeping people healthy and offering them a respite in all this is important to me. Guests are welcome to lounge in the backyard (with lagoon access) or relax on their own porch. Guests may also access the private Lagoon Point beach directly across the street. Welcome! We are so delighted you have come to stay!
Lagoon Point is a quiet and beautiful community surrounded by lagoons, canal and water. It is very quiet here. We are not in the middle of a town, but we are an amazing gateway to other places on the Island as we are so centrally located. You can easily visit Greenbank Farm, the ferry to Port Townsend, Langley, Coupeville, Ebey's Landing, South Whidbey State Park - all within 15 minutes drive.
  • We had a great time at Eagles Perch. Lara’s place has lots of windows to let in the natural light and provide a nice view. Her place is also nice and quiet off the main road. Lara is a great host, quick to respond when we had questions.

    Len2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great space for a getaway. Very clean amenities and great views. The location is perfect. Great access to beach walks with great views across Puget Sound. Loved the hot tub under the stars. I highly recommend!

    Dave2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed a sweet mid-week getaway in this lovely little studio. Communication with Lara was great and getting in was easy with the very thorough explanations. Though small, it has a nice layout and the lighting, color palette, decor, windows- create a feeling of spaciousness. The hot tub was wonderful feature on the cold and starry nights and we loved having the views of the lagoon and sound. The private beach just across the street was peaceful and gorgeous, great for meditation time. The linens on bed and for bathroom were all high quality and the shower was divine- great temp and pressure. The kitchenette is well-stocked to fix up little snacks or reheat goodies from the awesome restaurants. We spent the first evening in Greenbank/Freeland, the next day in Coupeville (after doing the Ebey Landing hike- thanks to Lara for the recommendation!), and the last day in Langley. We loved it all! Front Street Cafe had the best mussels, Toby's had the best beer, and Vail Wine Bar had a nice little sampling flight of delicious wines and some of the best clam chowder EVER. For breakfast, our favorite was Mukilteo Coffee Roasters Cafe in the Woods. But there were lots of places we never got to try, so we will be back!

    Shannon2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely, secluded place, and the perfect weekend escape from the city! We spent beautiful days with long beach walks and coastal hikes, and explored cafes and restaurants on Whidbey. Lara's place is in the perfect location and close enough to everything you may want to visit. Highly recommended!

    Josephine2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • This was absolutely perfect for me and my 14-mo son!! I really appreciated having the comfy chair for nursing, the tea kettle and tea, the warm light, and hardly any childproofing issues, so I could relax and let Liam roam free. It was also great how easy it was to get in touch.

    Madeleine2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • This was a really lovely place for a weekend getaway. The surrounding area is beautiful. The room is very lovely with lots of windows for views. The host Lara is easily accessible and very helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back.

    Patrick2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay here. The location was incredible. There was a magical sunset one night that blew us away! So beautiful! Lara was really helpful and easy to communicate with.

    Emily2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful little place this host has set up - sparkling waters surround a sweet studio like a jewel box full of lovely peace & windows onto the weather (we were so lucky with sunshine for several miraculous days. Lara was kind, quick, thorough and courteous - warmth & clear explanations beyond expectation. What a great escape! I look forward to returning.

rus·tic (adj.) ~ of or relating to the countryside; rural. mag·ic (noun) ~ a quality that makes something seem removed from everyday life, especially in a way that gives delight
Beautiful and rustic small farm living, on 4.5 acres overlooking Kilisut Harbor. The cabin has a small front porch, and a small "frog pond.” Downstairs Interior is a cozy living space with table for two. A "couch" which also serves as a twin size bed is there as well. Loft bedroom (with queen size bed) and kitchenette. The kitchenette contains a large sink, hutch with dishes and towels, etc., a toaster oven, electric cook pan, electric kettle, and a mini fridge. Outdoor fire pit and small grill for outdoor cooking… Bathroom area consists of a shower and toilet (6 gallon hot water tank). Heat is wood stove, plus oil and electric heaters. Owners live on property, as well as one other apartment rental/tenant.
Marrowstone Island, just southeast from the Victorian Seaport of Port Townsend is a rural island with spectacular shoreline vistas, evergreen trees, and an inspiring, pastoral beauty. The main town of Nordland lies in the center of the island and has a small general store. Get lost on fern drenched trails at Fort Flagler State Park, on the North end of the island -- also known for its historical bunkers and beaches. There is a bridge connecting the island to the mainland, and Port Townsend is 13 miles away, with access to great restaurants, shops, music and the ferry to the San Juans.
  • Such a lovely cabin with great views! The fresh eggs and cozy wood stove were just what we needed!

    Erica2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This place is adorable! We were there for a weekend away from everything and this place delivered. There were thoughtful touches throughout, like Dane and Kathryn making sure the lights and heater were on when we arrived (we got there around 8:30 pm), fresh eggs in the fridge, and some awesome recommendations on where to eat. Be prepared for things to be a little more rustic than you may be used to. It IS a farm. There's no Wi-Fi, so you'll have to tether from your phone if you want to stream anything (or just download to your devices). As others mentioned, the hot water heater is small, so plan on quick showers. But the location and cabin itself more than makes up for those two small drawbacks. It was lovely to listen to the frogs at night, the rooster wasn't a jerk, and there are ALPACAS. They hang out in the field right next to the cabin. They're super friendly. This is a great place to ignore the world for a while. We'll definitely be back.

    Dorothy2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful long weekend stay at the cabin and really enjoyed its coziness. D & K helped us navigate some traffic issues with easy and were great communicators. We will have to return in the summer when we are sure this little oasis is even more stunning. Cheers!

    Sven2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful spot for a relaxing weekend away!

    Joslin2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Singing Frog Cabin is just as shown in the photos and it is a delight for a couple like us that appreciate a cozy, rustic space in a lovely setting. The cabin is located on a farm overlooking an inlet with mountains in the background. The cabin is very clean and furnished perfectly for our tastes. Marrowstone Island is beautiful. Fort Flagler State Park at the end of the Island has spectacular views of Mount Baker and some of the rest of the Cascades and they also have very nice hiking trails in the park. It is a short drive to Port Townsend, where there are numerous restaurants and crafty shops. We were grateful for the fresh eggs in the fridge from hens on the farm. In the future, we will try to book this same place when we visit this part of the Olympic Peninsula.

    Michael2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • This farm house is the most incredible little slice of island paradise. The location is great for day trips or lounging around. We ended up spending most of our nights on the porch or by the fireplace. It's dreamy and the loving touches are felt all around! Can't wait to come back!!

    Briar2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • A very cozy space a bit separated from the rest of the out buildings. Nice for privacy and quiet. We loved listening to the birds and watching the light change on the water— the view is stunning. The corner store down the way is very cute and a post office too!

    Alix2019-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Kathryn and Dane are wonderful! Their property is the perfect weekend getaway. We enjoyed playing with their pup, greeting the chickens and goats, and watching the sunset from the cabin's porch each evening. This was my first time to Marrowstone Island and I already want to go back. We listened to a local radio station each night on the speakers as we cooked dinner. Fort Flagler is nearby and a great way to spend the afternoon. We spent a few hours wandering the fort, it's trails, and the beach. Port Townsend is a great place to check out for drinks or lunch. But we loved being at Kathryn and Dane's place the most. It was very relaxing and perfect for a peaceful weekend

  • This is a great Tiny House close to Fort Flagler, Fort Warden, and Port Townsend. It was secluded and private and very clean. We would definitely recommend it.

  • We really enjoy staying in Eagle's Nest places. Bungalow was very clean and it has nice view of bay. Location is perfect for quite getaway. Dana and Dick were very friendly and thoughtful. I will definitely stay again, if I come to this area. Thank you Dana and Dick.

  • This place is a treasure! Very happy to have found it and would 10000% recommend. Peaceful and cozy.

  • Dana & Dick have a beautiful cottage. Every aspect is perfect and well thought out. Stay here, it's brilliant.

    Ned2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great little AirBnB in a lovely location! Dana & Dick's tiny house sits on its own piece of waterfront property with a beautiful view over the bay towards Port Hadlock. Port Townsend is an easy 15-minute drive away. The house was well-appointed with lots of thoughtful touches, complimentary snacks, etc. The hosts greeted us on arrival, shared some local tips, and let us know where to find them (across the street) if we had any questions/issues, but otherwise gave us our privacy. It really was a perfect romantic getaway for Valentine's weekend. Don't miss out on dinner at Ajax Cafe - "A little out of the way but way out of the ordinary." Highly recommended... as is "Eagle's Paradise."

    David2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The tiny home was perfect for my trip and Dana made the whole process easy. It was a great experience.

  • Lovely, sweet, quiet and very clean tiny house right by the water. The space is simply adorable and your hosts will have thought of everything for you including drinks and snacks. Their love for hosting is palpable. I highly recommend staying here, you won't be disappointed.

    Samira2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Eagle's Paradise is lovely - even more wonderful are your hosts who thoughtfully think of everything for your stay from loads of firewood to fresh flowers in pink colored water, to Lindor chocolates to snacks and coffee and so on. The view was amazing on a stormy winter stay. I look forward to the opportunity to visit again to enjoy the outdoor fire pit!

  • This was such a special place - very cozy and well laid out, and Mado has filled it with some very thoughtful touches. We barely needed to bring anything! Communication was also excellent and thoughtful but we still felt like we had total privacy. We will definitely be staying again!

    Whitney2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Mado’s place is located in a beautiful wooded area just a few miles from the waterfront areas of Port Townsend. It’s new and spacious, with lovely rustic charm!! The grounds are full of gardens, butterflies, and birds. We loved it!

    Christine2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great little place to stay that felt “out” but not too far out. It was actually bigger than we thought it would be. Mado had left some milk for us in the fridge which was very helpful. A great place for a relaxing vacation.

    Andrea2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage was a perfect weekend getaway. It is cute, cozy, and QUIET. We loved being close to all that Port Townsend has to offer yet set back a bit in such a beautiful wooded area. It was quiet and dark, we slept like logs!

    Annie2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I really enjoyed our three day stay at Mado's place. The apartment has everything you could need. We've been to Port Townsend several times, and usually stay downtown, but this was an equally fun experience. Very quiet and excellent stargazing. The location next to Cappy's Trails gives you an infinite number of trail walking options. We brought our bikes and the ride to Fort Worden or uptown/downtown PT was a breeze.

    Doug2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is a gorgeous, quiet space - I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

  • I had high expectations and Jessica’s space in PT exceeded them. Will be coming back for sure!

    Rob2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • This place is such a special and magical place. I had such a peaceful and relaxing time there. The hosts were super responsive and helpful when the furnace stopped working and took care of it as quickly as they could. I would definitely stay again!

    Courtney2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Book it, you won't regret it! We loved our stay and every perfect moment this space created. The fireplace is cozy and a gem on a cold night after using the hot tub! The hosts were very kind and communicative. Loved all the thoughtful touches and would definitely stay again. Next time maybe find that beautiful waterview and bring a couple extra towels.

    Mary Pearl2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is such a cool place to stay. I stayed there with my two teenaged kids and they thought it was awesome, even though we were on a relatively boring trip to see family friends. It was a great house to just relax and hang out in, with plenty of space, cool nooks and crannies, everything to you need, plus a hot tub and sauna. Beautiful tree views from every window—and there are so many windows! Private and peaceful and quiet. We'd love to return!

    Julie2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a truly amazing woodsy get away. The house is stunning and the amenities are super fun.

    Mike2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The posting sold this place for me, and it was as amazing as I thought it would be. We stayed on a week night for a relaxing getaway. It was quiet, filled with beautiful natural light in a tree filled acreage. We took advantage of the hot tub which was well maintained and easy to use. Highly recommend this place for couples or a low-key small group.

    Silas2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Cute nooks and crannies, not too much privacy between the top two floors, which I actually enjoy so you don't feel isolated. Great wood fired sauna experience. Very clean and close to some amazing views.

    Kelly2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Jessica’s home is AMAZING! We had a feeling it was going to be awesome when we booked our stay, but honestly, it was even better in person. Such a stylish, comfortable and unique space on a gorgeous property. All of the beds were super comfy and there were plenty of linens. We will be recommending this place to all of our friends and will definitely be back!

Next time!

Dove’s Perch is wrapped in a soothing lavender color and furnished with Great Uncle Everett’s bedroom set. Uncle Everett loved to take photos and a sampling of images he captured, along with his old Brownie camera, are on display. A well-lit vanity offers drawer space appointed to each room for personal toiletries.
Robin’s Nest is a petite bed and breakfast expressly designed to be casually relaxed and personable. It is infused with sprightly color and eclectically furnished with family heirlooms to blend a touch of nostalgia with contemporary comfort and convenience. The home was built in 2006 and renovated in 2017 to ensure our guests have a completely enjoyable experience. L#011868
Robin's Nest is in a sunny area on top of Castle Hill, near the century old and reportedly haunted Manresa Castle. It's a short walk to see some wonderful views of the Port Townsend's historical skyline, and a five-minute drive to the heart of up-town, down-town, all local events, marinas, trails and everything else the area has to offer.
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Robin’s bed and breakfast. The space was artfully decorated, clean, and very peaceful. It was a very sweet place to stay, and I would definitely recommend it to others. She provided a light breakfast in the morning, a full bathroom, and a gorgeous bedroom to stay in.

Watch great blue herons glide in for a landing while sipping your morning coffee in this large, airy, well-lit apartment. Your vacation get-away spot occupies the entire second floor of a cheery bright red barn on a small working farm.
Entirely private, the apartment’s many windows feature spectacular views of the property’s 11 acres of native wetlands, woodlands, gardens, and critters (chickens, ducks, goats, rabbits, 2 friendly dogs, and abundant wildlife). Vaulted cathedral ceilings make the 650 square feet seem even larger! The entire apartment has been recently refurbished with new appliances and fixtures. Electric baseboard heat, a cozy propane stove with flickering flames, windows that open, and an elegant ceiling fan keep the apartment comfortable and romantic year-round. The ample closets, drawers, and shelves will make you want to move in and stay forever.
Port Townsend, with its many cultural attractions, is a 12 minute drive from the apartment. We are centrally located to thriving local farms, wineries, and cideries. Maritime attractions include nearby marinas, whale watching, the Marine Science Center, and the Wooden Boat School. Many outstanding state and local parks are nearby with beautiful beaches, forests, and playgrounds. Easy walking distance to the county library.
  • Beautiful space in a quiet, rustic and above-all beautiful farm located in Port Hadlock. Great to be upstairs in a beautiful finished barn space with a Sun Room to sit in and read while overlooking the Goat, Bunny and Chicken paddocks and the lovely well-maintained garden space with the rushing river running through the property. If you need to a calm, safe space to regenerate, this is it!

  • Great place---5 stars. I highly recommend The Blue Heron !

    John2020-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay! The space itself is very cool as a converted upper barn, but is also solidly built and insulated. We were perfectly cozy on a windy, rainy weekend. Right when we walked in, it was obvious that Cheri is a thoughtful host and provided some supplies to make us feel welcome. We'll look for another opportunity to come back!

    Corbin2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • This place is wonderful. I thought it felt bigger than the pictures look, especially the kitchen. The heating stove gives a really cozy feeling, and is very effective at keeping the place warm (it's on a thermostat). It's fun to see goats and chickens out the window. I did not meet Cheri in person as there was no need to, but she was super responsive. A great place to stay if you are visiting this part of the Peninsula!

    Bill2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Cheri's place is a comfy loft in a quiet country setting.

    Tricia2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Cheri and Rocky have a cozy retreat near historic Port Townsend and beautiful scenery. Coming in from the cold to a fire in the pot-belly stove was so welcoming. - Check-in was super easy. Directions were easy to follow. We got a code for the doors. - There are many local activities, brochures, and maps in the shelf by the kitchen. Everything is well-organized. - The 3 season porch is lovely, and would be great in summer months to sit and watch the goats outside. - The goats are friendly and liked a little scratch behind the ears. <3 - The farm-fresh treats in the fridge were a little touch of luxury. - The home is secluded and private, yet close to town. What a wonderful stay we had!

    Trine2019-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • This is my second review as we extended our stay, and so glad we did. Cheri's place is ideal for short visits and long term stays. As reviewed previously, the accommodation is excellent and very clean; there are full kitchen facilities; it is warm, and there is a brightly lit sunroom to dispel any winter gloom; lovely views; privacy respected; well situated for buses to Port Townsend or Seattle, or parking on site. Overall, it was very hard to leave.

    Lilly2019-12-19T00:00:00Z
  • Just wonderful. Cheri is an excellent host and this top-of-barn cottage is a wise choice; very comfortable living, good kitchen, lovely sun room, thoughtful extras such as board games and books, very clean and private enjoyment. The views of their acreage is lovely to wake up to, and you are more than likely to see eagles, otters and herons. Good location close to Port Hadlock and Port Townsend, bus stop nearby for easy public transport from Seattle. Highly recommend.

  • What a beautiful place and stunning view. I felt like I was at home, the suite was very clean, nicely decorated, and very peaceful. The house was stocked with enough amenities where I felt very comfortable. Christine and John put a really nice booklet together of wonderful places to eat and things to do in Port Townsend - which I greatly appreciated. They were extremely responsive and even gave me tips about when to get to the ferry (as I was not familiar with it to begin with). There were days that I stayed in to just write and stare out the window at the amazing view (I stayed there end of December, so it was a very nice place to stay on a rainy cold day!). My intention was to find a place by the water to write (water sparks my creativity) and this was the perfect place to do it! What a wonderful place to stay. Really highly recommended. I will be back again!!

A hidden gem in Port Hadlock. This is a beautiful little cabin perched on the bluff, overlooking Port Townsend Bay, Indian Island, Mount Baker and more. Take in a stunning sunset with a glass of wine or a coffee in the morning while watching sailboats and sea life from your front porch.
This quaint and private cabin is furnished with all of the basic amenities you need for a simple yet comfortable and enjoyable stay while you take in your view of the bay and the tranquility of our area. There are plenty of places to eat, drink and explore all within a few miles of the cabin. Some of our favorites include Finn River Farm and Cidery, The Keg and I, Ajax Cafe and Farms Reach Cafe. Within walking distance there is a QFC for grocery shopping, breakfast and lunch at Metro Bagels, or burgers and beers at The Valley Tavern. Take a short drive to the Chimacum Corner Farmstead for an incredible variety of locally grown produce and organic foods. Port Townsend is a short drive away as well. We are more than happy to provide recommendations for must-see stops during your visit. The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, coffee maker, hot plate, and toaster oven. An outdoor barbecue is available for cooking as well. Things to note: We would prefer children do not climb up to the loft for safety reasons. The bathroom is equipped with a wash basin, hot water shower, and composting toilet (with easy to follow instructions posted).

This private setting is walking distance to Fort Worden and North Beach, and just a little further walk or drive to Uptown and Downtown. City business license #012047.
My place is in a sunny part of town and I am continually enhancing my natural gardens to attract birds and other wildlife. As a naturalist my space is nature-centric and eco-friendly. Most of my materials and cleaning supplies are organic or natural, and I strive to keep it a fragrance-free space. There is wifi, but the space is TV-free. Please remove your shoes indoors to help keep it clean.
My house is in a quiet neighborhood, high on a hill that slopes down to Fort Worden State Park, with trails, beaches, bunkers and views of Puget Sound and the Straits of Juan de Fuca. Fort Worden hosts festivals, events, and concerts year-round, as well as yoga, the Marine Science Center, the PT School of Arts, restaurants, and more.
  • A perfect visit to Port Townsend!

    Natalie2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Vicki has created such a warm and welcoming refuge... so clean, tastefully decorated and quietly peaceful. I join the ranks of previous travelers who raved about the oh-so-comfy bed... Wow! The thoughtful kitchenette is just right for simple meal prep/reheating and I could easily see how inviting it would be to step out the door into your own private little courtyard for morning sun when weather permits. Being within easy walking distance of Fort Worden State Park (433 acres of deep woods, fields and beach) is a bonus. Thank you, Vicki, for this delightful sanctuary.

Light and roomy 949 sq. foot home on seven acres at the end of a private lane eight miles from Port Townsend, 23 miles from Sequim. Our home is next door but we respect your privacy. Miles of trails out back, west facing view of Discovery Bay. The bath has a shower only, no tub. It seldom gets too hot here, but there is no air conditioning. There is no cleaning charge if the place is left reasonably clean. Please notice that we request no smoking or pets.
The space in handicap accessible, but there are not grab bars. Bathroom has shower only, no tub.
Last home on a dead end road, normally very quiet.
  • Spotless and sparkling, with a fantastic view, a comfy bed, good coffee and tea, and accurate directions and details. We also loved the collection of cozy handmade afghans and books (good selection of local info on hikes & other things to do, as well as more entertaining stuff). Would definitely recommend!

  • If you are looking for a great spot near Port Townsend please consider this cottage. The space is terrific - just as described! Spacious, private and the views are amazing. We cooked for ourselves and the kitchen is well equipped with everything you are likely to need. There are thoughtful touches throughout. We really loved the flannel sheets! Libet and Gene are wonderful hosts. My only regret is that we did not meet Tostada - next time!

  • Aerie cottage is as lovely a setting as you can imagine, Libet and Gene are great hosts, we will stay there again as soon as possible. Deb and Alan

  • Aerie House is special! The view is incredible at all times of the day, and the accommodation is spacious and comfortable. Libet and Gene were wonderful hosts. Highly recommended.

    Susan2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Aerie House is beautiful! The photos do not do justice to just how amazing this place it. The view from the living area and dining area is stunning, the kitchen is well equipped, and Libet is the best host. My boyfriend and I stayed here for our first weekend away, and it was perfect. We enjoyed how close Aerie house was from Port Townsend while feeling like it was worlds away from anyone. There are some very cute wineries and cideries in the area, Libet provided us with great information. We even locked ourselves out but Libet came to our rescue with a smile. We can't wait to come back and visit in the summer. I would highly recommend staying here if you had an opportunity.

Cozy, relaxing, private, guesthouse with deck. Nearly 700 sq. feet, so really a small home. View of gardens. Kitchen fully equipped. Gas stove, microwave, Cuisinart, blender--everything! TV-monitor, DVD-player & many DVD's. New, plush queen-bed. Minutes to downtown Port Townsend. Easy to Hwy. 20 for day-trips. Feel to free wander around 3-acre grounds. 2nd small bedroom w/ twin bed available upon request. Free for two guests who each want own room, extra charge for 3rd person. One parking space
We lived in the guesthouse for a year while remodeling the main house, and we almost didn't want to move out., we liked it so much. Bright and sun-filled, with nice view from the living room of large yard with flowers, vegetable gardens, and trees. Feels cozy and private, but really quite spacious too, especially with living-room/great-room and open kitchen. Your own space. Great place from which to launch adventures into town or to the Peninsula. House is in a beautiful rural area of Port Townsend (but still close to town), with views from our meadow of the Olympic mountains. Very relaxing. The kitchen pretty much has everything you'd need to cook or make anything--pots and pans, pizza stone, baking dishes, mixing bowls. Many appliances, including panini-grill, waffle iron, blender, cuisinart, smaller food processor, and toaster oven. And if there is anything you need that is not there (unlikely), just ask. The TV is NOT hooked up to cable. But the monitor has a USB port if you have a Chrome-cast or other casting device to use with a laptop or smart phone. (There's wifi too.) The DVD player also plays musics CD's, and there are lots of movie DVD's and music CD's in the closet in the main living area (the one with the bi-fold doors).
Just at the edge of the city limits of Port Townsend, 5 minute drive or so into downtown. Lovely rural, agricultural area, with lots of horses, and beautiful views of the Olympic mountains. Private but not secluded. Our property has many gardens, flowers and vegetables, and a wide variety of trees. We are always working to make everything more beautiful and park-like. Great location for day-trips (with easy access to Highway 20) if you want to head to the Sequim, Port Angeles, Olympic Peninsula, or a drive up or down Highway 101.
  • A great clean, inviting space. Plenty spacious, natural light and views outside to the garden. Walked in to a lovely welcome basket of goodies too! The 5 nights went by smoothly and comfortably :) We would definitely stay here again...cheers!

  • Comfortable space with all the necessities. Comfy beds; everything clean; full kitchen; and just a couple miles from town. We've stayed in many places in Port Townsend and Denis and Tom's is where we will come back to for our next visit.

    Ernie2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Denis’s place is what defines AirBNB at its best, no hotel experience can be its rival. Denis’s hospitality is very personable, making our stay memorable.

    Sylvie Ann2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • OBSESSED with this quiet, clean, and chic space. After an easy check in, we were greeted by a sweet welcome platter with cheese and sparkling cider. A perfect evening ensued snacking and watching Kill Bill (one of the many great classics in DVD to choose from). Comfortable bed and even a choice of pillow options (reg vs firm)! The House Rules were my favorite part- not to care about a damn thing and just enjoy yourself.

    Bridgette2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Denis and Tom have created a lovely space, on a beautiful tract of land -- the perfect place for a weekend retreat, or for us, the perfect landing during a working weekend. Close to town, yet set apart -- spacious rooms, comfortable bed and seating areas, lots of little details that make the space feel well tended but not at all cluttered. Lovely!

    Lauren2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at The Cabin. The place was so cozy, well equipped, and was full of thoughtful details. On top of that, the first day there was a wind storm, and the hood canal bridge was closed, so we had to go back and couldn’t make it to the first night. Denis, without us asking, refunded that night. Such an understanding gesture! We would come back in a heartbeat. Thank you very much Denis! Connie

    Connie2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • I loved staying here! When my husband and I arrived, there were special treats waiting for us. Who doesn't love finding ice cream in the freezer and good cheese in the fridge!? It was really easy to check in, thanks to the very clear instructions that Denis had sent me the week before, and my husband and I were surprised by how much space there was. Everything was sparkling clean and the bed was sooooo comfortable. I often have a really hard time sleeping when I'm traveling and I forgot to bring my own pillow with me, but that was not a problem. I slept so well here! And Denis and Tom had provided extra blankets, as well as a variety of firmness for the pillows so I could pick just the right one for myself. The space was clean, quiet and comfortable and if I ever need to book an AirBnB in Port Townsend again, this is my first choice for a place to stay.

    Brittany2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • If you are in the Port Townsend area, you will not find a prettier Airbnb! The lovely pictures on the website show you exactly what you will get. Now, my cousin and I will stay nowhere else when we again visit family.

  • A wonderfully private place, much larger than expected. The kitchen is small, but was loaded with everything I might need, and was completely adequate for my three month stay. Sherry is an absolutely delightful person and eager to please, providing lots of info about the area. All in all, a terrific value!!!

    Rebecca2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Sherry was a fabulous host and I really enjoyed my stay at her place. Bigger than a studio, it had a separate bedroom and a large living/eating area. Having a washer and dryer was a plus. The kitchen was small but worked fine for me. A peaceful, quiet location within 10 minutes of the beach, town, Fort Warden....everything was nearby. I had all the privacy I wanted, yet Sherry was available any time and made sure I had what I needed (she even provided slippers!). Sherry had lots of great tips, was easy to communicate with, and it was a true pleasure getting to know her. I look forward to returning there!

    Donna2019-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • The place was much larger than expected and had a large, separate bedroom with lots of closet and storage space. My only challenge was working with the limited kitchenette but I managed ok for the 3+ months I stayed Sherry, the host, lives across the courtyard and is very generous with ideas and suggestions to enhance your visit. She also has a great flower garden and shared her lovely flowers A real bonus was having a full washer and dryer in the unit, and Parking so convenient. Location is south of the downtown and uptown areas but an easy drive and close to public transportation and grocery shopping and other services. There is so much to do every day in Port Townsend and Sherry’s place makes it easy to get to everything

    Judy2018-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Sherry's studio offers complete privacy and convenience. One can quickly drive to downtown, to Fort Worden, and to points south and west. Sherry was very generous in explaining local features and in providing information and even food surprises occasionally.

    John2016-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Sherry is an excellent host and Sherring Lodge Studio has all the basics covered for a comfortable extended stay in an interesting and peaceful natural environment. My expectations were well satisfied and I would certainly return again for another month.

    Donald2016-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • I just had a wonderful 4 week experience lodging in Sherry's studio. She is a superb host. Sherry was very kind and helpful, going out of her way to make sure my stay was a very pleasurable experience. Sherry's studio is very quiet, as well as central to all that Port Townsend offers. Deer, and beautiful birds abound, in her yard and on the street. What more could a person want?

    Jacqui2015-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • I was very happy with my stay in Port Townsend. I was quite surprised to find the cottage exactly as pictured. Sherry was the most helpful landlady and hostess. She had a lot of helpful places to see and things to do. I stayed a month, not as a tourist but I was there to help my sister settle into their new home. I would definitely stay there again.

    carole2015-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Sherry was a wonderful host - she made me feel very welcome; provided suggestions about what to see; and was available if I needed anything. I was in Port Townsend for a cycling weekend, and the suite was perfect -- the laundry and kitchenette facilities were much appreciated, as was the 'indoor space' for my bicycle. The location was also good - in a quiet neighborhood, but within easy cycling distance of 'downtown'. I would definitely stay again.

Welcome to the Heart of Chimacum, a special historical home and outstanding destination for regenerative farming enthusiasts, cider aficionados, cannabis connoisseurs, weekend travelers and tourists alike! This lovingly restored turn-of-the-century pioneer-era farmhouse is conveniently centrally nestled in the bustling bosom of the Olympic Peninsula's most renowned and beautiful organic farming community. Close to Port Townsend, Olympic National Park & Forest, and so many other attractions.
The home is a restored historical farmhouse on acreage in the most exciting hub of rural Jefferson County. The home shares a nearly four acre heritage homestead site with the Chimacum Cannabis Company - the Olympic Peninsula's premier cannabis store and listed as one of the best dispensaries in America by High Times Magazine. Architecturally it is a unique fusion of turn-of-the-century pioneer construction speckled with Victorian design elements - a legacy of its proximity to Port Townsend. The property has had many uses over its lifetime, including as a community schoolhouse and home of prominent citizens. The rental proper offers about 1500sqft of living space including four bedrooms with queen beds, a sizeable country kitchen, a fully equipped laundry room and pantry, a formal dining room, large bathroom, and classical farmhouse living room with floors made of solid old-growth fir that were harvested from our primeval forests over 130 years ago. The backyard of the property presents awesome views of the ridge towering over the salmon-restored Chimacum Creek. A custom crafted grill and smoker is available. This is a very unique space unlike any other you will find. It is best suited for couples, small families, or groups of friends who have the sense of adventure necessary to explore and discover the Chimacum Valleys and surrounding Olympic Peninsula. Within a very short walking distance of the farmhouse, guests can avail themselves of the best restaurants, music venues, taverns, farm product stands, and services the Chimacum farming community has to offer. See the "Neighborhood" section for more!
Experience first-hand the organic food Renaissance in the Chimacum Valleys where the old world of artisan food creation is the new way to go. Pick up fresh goat cheese and meet the goats at the farm, sip hand-crafted ciders, witness the art of cheese making and try your hand at pickling. Chimacum blends old town history and a past steeped in natural resource production with a growing population of small scale farmers revisiting authentic ways to produce food in a modern world. These include: The Finnriver Organic Farm & Cidery - A 33-acre certified organic family farm and popular tourist destination that is on the forefront of the Pacific Northwest hard cider revival. Committed to producing both traditional and innovative hard ciders using premium local ingredients, Finnriver maintains an authentically farmcrafted and land-based operation that features free live music each day every weekend in the summer and most of the rest of the year too. Many special festivals and events occur throughout the year as well. It is also a children and family friendly venue. The Chimacum Cannabis Company – Recognized at the top of the list of Best Medical & Recreational Dispensaries in Washington by High Times Magazine and repeatedly voted the best retail cannabis establishment by local Jefferson County and Port Townsend residents, a carefully curated recreational and medical marijuana shopping experience awaits within a creatively restored farmhouse and hand-built custom gallery designed to showcase the very best clean, organically grown cannabis products from local farmers and around Washington State. Farm’s Reach Café - A quaint and charming breakfast and lunch café, artisan bakery, and espresso bar which sources ingredients primarily from local organic farms and is located about 100 feet from the Heart of Chimacum. TreeHawk Farms – One of Washington State’s premier producers of top-shelf quality, artisanal, hand-crafted cannabis. Family-owned and operated with deep historical ties to the land, the business is situated on property previously occupied by the Chimacum Valley Dairy. The Chimacum Corner Farmstand - An innovative community-sourced grocer featuring all sorts of fresh goodies from local farmers and other small business food and beverage producers. The Chimacum Farmers Market takes place here every Sunday in June through October from 10am to 2pm. It's the sweetest farmers market hands down. Not the biggest, not the most crowded, but utterly charming - exactly how we like it in farm country! The Keg & I – This local watering hole gives a smile and a nod to Chimacum’s storied past as a turn-of-the-century wilderness ranching community on the Olympic Peninsula. There was a famous book written by a young chicken rancher named Betty MacDonald in 1945 titled “The Egg & I” - the book upon which the Ma and Pa Kettle films were based. The Keg & I offers a wonderful selection of local and regional microbrews and hard ciders. Found within a remodeled 1911 farmhouse, it is a great place to chat with friends or catch the latest sporting event on television. The Chimacum Café - Old-time restaurant famous for tasty, homestyle meals and exceptional wild blackberry pie (in season, of course). Popular with locals, who frequent the tables, booths and lunch counter for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A worthy destination for visitors passing through and for old timers, who return again and again, drawn by the memories of the first time they discovered Chimacum Café. Kodama Farm & Food Forest - Kodama utilizes regenerative and permaculture-based practices to produce over 300 varieties of unique and heirloom vegetables and fruit. Valuing small-scale intensive agriculture, only ½ an acre is cultivated for vegetable production. In addition to annual crops, they also raise Nigerian Dwarf goats and chickens for dairy and eggs. Kodama also houses a tropical geodesic greenhouse and is in the process of developing a 5-acre food forest. Red Dog Farm – Red Dog Farm is located just a few hundred feet from Chimacum Corner on Center Valley Road. The farm is 23 acres total, with 13 acres of mixed vegetables, strawberries and raspberries, cut flowers and plant starts and five acres of hay. Red Dog Farm is certified organic by WSDA. They run a successful community-supported-agriculture (CSA) program 10 months of the year. Be sure and check out the Red Dog farm stand. SpringRain Farm & Orchard – a 28-acre certified organic farm located in the center of Chimacum producing eggs, chicken, turkey, and lamb and growing a wide assortment of berry crops including strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, currants, gooseberries, boysenberries, and blackberries. They also raise a large orchard of heirloom apples and pears, nuts, asparagus, and honey bees. They are proud stewards of some of the land Chimacum Creek flows through, and with the Jefferson Land Trust and National Resource Conservation Service, conserve and protect the confluence of the E and W forks of the Chimacum Creek and engage in practices designed to preserve our natural resources.
  • Centrally located and in walking distance to the Finn River Cidery, farmers market, and more than one great cafe. Close to all that the area has to offer, we loved the wooden boat festival too. A little noise from morning traffic, but not so much that it should distract from your stay.

    Kathy2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • This was a fantastic homebase to explore the Peninsula. I really adored Chimacum and the house was lovely and open. Kody's recommendations of exploring the neighborhood was super helpful. Kody was also very communicative, which was great. A couple of tips/FYIs for other travelers to the space: -If you're a CPAP user, one of the bedrooms doesn't have a plug close enough to the bed so bring an extension cord if you can. Luckily, the QFC 1.7 miles away is open 24/7 and we were able to easily snag one. The home is lovely and historic and very reasonable that the plugs may not be CPAP friendly :) -The road noise was pretty significant. I suggest earplugs, especially if you sleep warm and want to have the windows open. -If you're there during the warmer months, it may be worth bringing a fan to help suck in cooler air in the mornings/at night. It can get stuffy, especially upstairs. -There are two bedrooms downstairs - one is tall and one is pretty low. It was great to have both options, especially a low option for anyone with mobility issues. -All entrances to the home have two steps (heads up in case you have trouble with stairs). -Farms Reach Cafe is my new favorite restaurant :D We ate breakfast there twice and it was so good! Great pastries too. Everything tastes freshly made (not frozen potatoes) and high quality. My mom said their carrot cake was the best she'd ever had. I had delicious thing that was like a bacon maple bar and a croissant had a baby. A super delicious baby. -If you look at Chimacum on Google Maps, yes, everything is as close together as it looks. Finn River Cidery is basically 2 blocks, Farms Reach Cafe is less than a block, the Chevron is less than a block, and the farm stand is a block. It was great to be able to walk to food and drinks! And if it looks like there's going to be a nice sunset, head to Finn River. They have a great view.

    Lisa2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Great space, even better host!

    Tj2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • You have to like old houses. This place is 130 years old, and much of the furniture also appears to be antique. We loved the location, which was close to everything we wanted to see and do. Enjoyed the organic market across the street, and the cidery down the block. There is some road noise, including from the Chevron station at night, but it didn’t impact us. What this place could use are some floor and table lamps, some hooks or a wardrobe in the master bedroom, since there isn’t any closet, and a better soapdish arrangement in the shower. The soap was located on a glass dish perched atop the shower enclosure. That shelf wasn’t attached to anything. If you are under 6 feet tall, it will be difficult getting the soap without causing the shelf to crash down also, which is scary although it didn’t break for me. We liked the yard, and so did our dogs, although be aware that it is not fully fenced. In general, this was a great base for exploring Chimacum, Port Townsend, and the various peninsulas. I would recommend this place to my friends.

Wander the wonderful neighborhood that is chalk-a-block with historic homes or take the kids to one of the two parks within walking distance. View the Puget Sound and internationally acclaimed Ann Starrett Mansion from the spacious apartment. You'll have a fully furnished apartment with a flatscreen TV, cable, netflicks and a fully ready kitchen to cook local veggies and meats from Aldrich's Market, just up the street. Enjoy the awesome restaurants within walking distance or save some money and cook your own food with a 2 burner cook top and a toaster oven. High quality linens, bubble bath, soap and coffee supplied. We have a highchair, crib/pack-n-play within the apartment, and have no minimum age of guests, as we are family friendly.
Perfect location in uptown Port Townsend neighborhood full of historic homes.
  • This place was just perfect. Very cute and comfortable. Lots to do within walking distance, open mic night at the Uptown Pub, the most delicious take out pizza from Lanza's, an amazing bakery and grocery too. You'll see deer walking around the neighborhood! Just a short walk down the hill to Downtown. I am already looking forward to staying here again!

  • A wonderful place to stay - highly recommended!

    Liesl2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • This was an awesome place to stay! We had everything we needed and more when it came to preparing and serving food, being comfortable and entertained, and there was even shampoo, conditioner, body wash, a hair dryer and a hair straightener in the bathroom! In the closet I found a cot, a pack & play, a little high chair and a fan. There were books to read, wifi, and streaming TV as well as cable. The space was clean, comfortable, warm and inviting. On top of all that, Kelly was a wonderful host and responded quickly when my husband got sick and we couldn’t travel that day. She switched the dates for us last minute so we were still able to enjoy our trip when my husband got better. Thank you so much, Kelly! I would happily stay here again and again.

    Lesley2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • A+ stay, location, comfort, view, furnishings... all perfect. Would return at the drop of a hat. Port Townsend is great even in winter.

    Michael2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This little apartment was the perfect spot for our winter babymoon. Clean and cozy apartment, comfy bed, cute table for snacking/chatting/paying games (from which I could see the water and the ferry boat). Also a perfect location within easy walking distance of the main part of downtown (Waterstreet) and Uptown. The host left helpful suggestions for favorite restaurants and sites. Thanks for a great stay!

    Bridget2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • This is my second time back and I wasn't disappointed. Cozy, comfortable (great bed) and so convenient to vintage Pt. Townsend. It has a nice view of the water and the neighborhood is quiet. A small herd of deer ambled by every morning and I saw an eagle out the window as I sat and worked on my book. And while you can't cook a 4 course meal in the little kitchen, it has everything one needs to make breakfast or heat up dinner. Kelly is a terrific host.

    Randa2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, walking distance to the entire town. Quiet, comfortable place. Very clean and everything you need. Auto checkin, combo lock so no keys necessary. Very smooth.

    Bruce2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • It’s a beautiful place! However since it does have a vintage feel expect it to sound vintage. The floor creaks a lot with every step and the water comes out very loudly. It’s located so close to downtown, the neighborhood is very quiet, expect to see deer in the area. The amenities were delightful and thoughtful!

This is a early 1900's waterfront farmhouse with lots of character and vintage charm. Glassed in front porch allows you to kick back and enjoy the picturesque views of Mystery Bay in any weather. We have fast wifi and a blue ray player. Three wonderful parks close by, two within one mile. We are 16 miles to the beautiful seaport city of Port Townsend, known for music, dining, art galleries, parks etc. We are about 20 minutes to Port Ludlow and 30 minutes to 7 cedars casino 40 to Sequim.
This house is best suited for four people, but we recently added a fold up bed in the utility room for a fifth person, or if someone gets put "in the dog house." There is a $10.00 fee if someone wants to use the fold up bed. This will be on the honor system. The kitchen comes stocked with hopefully everything you might need to cook with, including cork screws and both a drip coffee maker and an espresso maker. Or you might choose to walk next door to the wonderful Nordland General store that has an espresso bar and a wonder selection of wine and craft beer. They also have goat cheese made at the Mystery bay farm also adjacent to our property. Fort Flagler state park is about 2 1/2 miles away and East Beach and Mystery Bay park is less than a mile. East Beach park does not require a pass and is one of the nicest beaches around for walking.
I love my neighborhood. Walking into the Nordland General store next door is like stepping back in time. The wood plank floors are worn with a hundred years of patrons footsteps. There are d.v.d.s to rent and there is an honor library where you can grab a book to read. You can buy a steaming hot mocha from the espresso bar, or a whidbey island ice cream bar and sit out on the bench on the store dock and enjoy the picturesque views.
  • We loved staying here!

  • This farmhouse was perfect for my weekend away! The bed was comfy, the kitchen had everything I needed to cook meals, and it was spotlessly clean. I enjoyed as much time as I could on the sunporch with coffee or tea and a good book. The whole property and island are charming. Deborah was extremely helpful and so easy to communicate with. I loved my stay!

Brigadoon is a place that is idyllic, unaffected by time, remote from reality and private. Come socially isolate during this challenging time. The Yurt is on its own end of the property with a beautiful spring garden coming into bloom. You can walk to the ocean and still be on your own. This is a good place to relax, be in the garden, enjoy a fire at the firepit, meditate, read, journal, make wishes, say prayers. Brigadoon is offering special pricing for stays of a month or more.
The luxurious Yurt is placed in a beautiful garden, depending on the season, different flowers will be in bloom. Cozy, spacious with views of nature out of the many windows. The bathroom is private with heated floors. Six foot bathtub to soak in with bubbles, if you like. Has its own beautiful french doors leading out to your private deck.
Located in Irondale, we have a rich history of the old iron working days, complete with ruins and kilns found on the beach. Head towards the water, it is a wonderful walk and a peaceful, tranquil getaway towards some of the most beautiful views you have ever seen.
  • Julie’s place is a tranquil oasis on a vacation away from home. The yurt is amazingly unique. She left a fruit and cheese platter for our arrival, and a very nice bottle of wine, which was such a sweet touch. The heated bathroom floors were a thoughtful and extravagant touch that made it feel like a spa. Overall, an amazing place to stay!

  • Attentive to our needs, generous with time and yummy breakfast treats made staying at Ron’s and Claudia’s a true getaway. Every local tip was spot on. Location was amazing - only outdone by our hosts attention to detail. Highly recommend this spot if you are looking to stay in Port Townsend.

    Chris2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • The location of Ron and Claudia's spot was great for us! We were able to walk to downtown without much trouble. There is also an uptown for exploration that is walkable from this spot. We also have a 1 year old and we were able to baby proof Ron and Claudia's spot pretty easily. They already had outlet covers in place and we were able to make a few adjustments to work for our needs with an ever curious 15 month old. We enjoyed the bagels and pastries and coffee that were provided. The spot also had plenty of unexpected upgrades such as a towel warmer and a deep tub. Everything was clean and well thought out. Thank you for a wonderful stay for our family vacation!

    Rachel2019-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful place hosted by wonderful and thoughtful people. I felt like I was visiting friends who made my comfort a priority. Thank you, Ron and Claudia! I will just have to come back as soon as I can!

    Anna2019-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Everything is so well organized and superbly clean! Ron goes the "extra mile" with fresh bagels and special bakery treats on Sundays. The kitchen is large and has a full-size washer and dryer that make doing laundry an easy chore. Love staying here!

Tranquil room in Strawbale house located on the outskirts of picturesque Port Townsend approximately 30-40 minutes walk from historic downtown. We live on 3/4 acre with views of Mt. Baker, Mt. Rainer (on a clear day) and Port Townsend Bay. Although we are in the city limits, we feel as though we are out in the country! We are still a work in progress, so you may see some of our unfinished projects. IF THIS LISTING IS BOOKED WE HAVE ANOTHER LISTING: SUMPTUOUS ROOM IN STRAWBALE HOUSE.
Our hand-built strawbale house is located in lovely Port Townsend and is a 5 minute drive or 30-40 minute walk to downtown. Our little corner room is filled with light and views of Mt. Baker and Port Townsend bay as well as the green field below the house. The two-foot thick walls are hand plastered, lending an organic feel to the room as well as creating a warm and quiet space. Enjoy the 100% wool carpet, cotton sheets and natural linen duvet. In order to create a space where you can get away from the trappings of modern life, there is no TV in the room, but feel free to access our wi-fi to watch movies on your laptop using headphones. Our sweet kitty Tibby will most likely come and visit you as well! We are very social people and love to get to know our guests so please feel welcome to enjoy the rest of the house! The bathroom is just a few steps away across the hall from your room and has a separate shared toilet space. As you will see, our house and property is still a work in progress! There are still unfinished aspects to the house and we have yet to accomplish much outside landscaping due, in part, to a lack of deer fencing. Therefore, anything we plant will get eaten at this point! With this being said, our home is very comfortable and functional and we think you will love being here.
Although we are within the city limits, you will feel as if you are out in the country. Our little lane will take you past a charming neighborhood of houses but our 3/4 acre feels private and serene.
  • One of a kind oasis for weary travellers, swing dance workshop enthusiasts, and everyone inbetween! Comfortable bed and delicious Muesli in the morning, can't be beat by even the finest hotel! We would love to stay again!

  • This was a sweet place to stay close to town. Sheryl and Tim were very open and welcoming. The room had a great view, was very clean and the bathroom heated floors were truly awesome. Their older kitty was really sweet and visited us a bit but was not disturbing in any way.

    Liz2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • The kitty tibby was very friendly, he visited us throughout our stay, beautiful home and quiet unique. Sheryl was very nice and provided a lovely healthy homemade granola for us.

  • This place is thoughtfully built with a warm and creative character, organic feel and we felt right at home. Our room was very cosy and provided us with incredible sleep. • The Bird’s Nest Cottage is the perfect place to stay while you are in Port Townsend. It is in a beautiful location on a quiet street and has lovely views from every window and from the private front deck. The cottage is clean and nicely decorated. The full kitchen is completely stocked with all the equipment needed to do your own cooking. The master bedroom has a comfy king size bed. There are two twin beds in the loft which can be reached by a sturdy ladder. We especially enjoyed the fireplace which makes things so cozy on cold mornings or evenings. We also appreciated having a washer and dryer. The cottage is very spacious and we felt right at home there. The location is perfect, within walking distance of Fort Worden and a short distance to all the shops and restaurants in Port Townsend. Sharon and Jerry are wonderful and attentive hosts and very nice people! We have enjoyed getting to know them. We highly recommend this accommodation!

    Kenton2018-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • I really enjoyed it here. I've stayed at a lot of vacation rentals where its furnished like a vacation rental and I have to bring my own knives (because theirs are dull) and pots/pans. But not here! Kitchen is awesome with everything you need and more. The furniture, bed, towels and everything here is furnished like an owner lives here. I recommend staying here! There's a slight view of the water from the rentals front deck and its only a few blocks from Fort Worden with some nice beaches, lighthouse, 3 restaurants and nice walking paths. Its in a quite neighborhood with almost no cars driving by, but still close to Uptown and downtown Port Townsend. I thought it was better than in the pictures.

    Carl2018-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • You will have a hard time not liking the Bird Nest. The balcony has views of the water and Fort Worden, both a short walk away. The kitchen is well stocked with cookware. The loft, which is accessible by ladder, has two single beds and a cozy little desk area for getting work done. The cottage is tastefully decorated, and has festive lights for the deck. Sharon and her husband Jerry are friendly hosts. We hope to return someday!

  • Great space, very modern bathroom with a large closet for extended stays. Bed was comfortable and the room was clean. I would stay here again. The driveway is a little hard to spot in the dark -especially if it is raining- so try to arrive before dark to make it easier on yourself, and read the directions provided instead of relying just on google maps.

  • Doug and Shaunae’s place was perfect for our stay. We were so impressed by all the attention to detail and the cleanliness. Laundry was an extra bonus, too! We would definitely recommend to others and stay again.

  • My boyfriend and I had such a wonderful time here. The place was easy to find, clean, and full of cute touches that did not go unnoticed. The property is just breathtaking and will make a return to the city bittersweet. Thank you Doug and Shaunae for providing such a relaxing escape.

  • I would highly recommend Doug and Shaunae’s space! It’s located pretty conveniently off of the main road (Highway 20) that leads to Port Townsend, and the guest suite is really nice, great sized bedroom, lovely closet where the hosts have put games and activities for you to play, and a great well-stocked kitchenette. The real gem of the space is all the outdoor space available. There are wonderful trails, virgin forest a few steps from the door, two awesome fire pits and more. Also the hosts are SUPER helpful. It snowed on the day we arrived and they gave us great advice on how to have a safe trip up and also ensured we had an ice free place to park our car. We also needed to shovel some snow to use the fire pit and Doug brought a couple out SUPER quickly. Overall, we had a great stay here and would definitely consider booking it again next time we visit Port Townsend or the Jefferson County area in general.

Large space perfect for groups, families, and friends! Beautifully remodeled bathroom with tub and shower. Situated on nine acres, we are fifteen minutes outside of Port Townsend in the historical farming community of Chimacum. This property is tucked into a serene forest landscape, surrounded by second growth Cedar and Douglas Firs. We are the perfect space for peace and quiet. If you are looking for late nights and loud parties we are not for you.
We have a sports court that doubles for both pickleball and basketball. Guests are welcome to eat food from the organic garden and the orchard. The chickens are a favorite of small children. They love to peer into Fort Cluck and watch the antics. Kitchenette includes microwave, toaster oven and small fridge. We are in a beautiful clearing up in the woods so that means very weak Wi-Fi. • Wonderful!!! Laurie greeted us as we parked and showed us to where we were staying. They gave great restaurant recommendations that are very close by. They have a great property and the setup was exactly what we needed for the weekend! Thanks again!
