"Basil" is the best thai place I've been to and only 10 minutes from the air bnb. The room is very clean and the bed is sooo comfy and nice. There is even netflix and wifi access and it is in a very safe neighborhood, close to the main street, grocery store and a very nice street market. We loved the pool! It is pretty small but has a good water temperature and we always were the only people there. We would.definitely come back and can recommend this airbnb to everyone :)

Parks and eats in walking distance Uber rides to different malls cost me less than $12. The style is open, modern, and definitely spacious! The bedroom is very roomy with plenty of windows, bed is super comfortable, we had the top floor's large bathroom to ourselves, and you can't beat the awesome deck above the garage. Location was very convenient for us, too. Right in between Plaza Midwood and NoDa, with easy access to uptown as well. Generally easy biking to those spots, for those interested in that. This was the first time I booked a private room (2 rooms, actually), and was pleasantly surprised how comfortable the stay went. Althea was very communicative and welcomed us at our arrival and left bottled water, a spare key, and a nice welcome note for myself, my husband and friend. We were in Charlotte for a wedding at the Duke Mansion and the house was a short 10 minute drive to the venue and about 12 minutes to downtown--- very convieniently located. The decor is beautiful and the property is well-kept--- overall, I would highly recommend a stay with Althea and would book another stay in Charlotte! Thanks, Althea!!

I cannot stress how welcoming both Althea and her home were to us. We were very uncomfortable despite your efforts to disguise this office or retail space. The futons were very uncomfortable. This place is not children/family friendly. My children could easily wake in the middle of the night and open the doors and wonder out into the street. I notice the mirror-tinted windows/privacy glass but its not that private. You can clearly see inside from the outside, near and far away. The curtain trying to cover the door and windows are not wide enough so that leaves access for peeping toms. I basically stood up overnight watching over my family because we all were nervous and afraid someone would be looking through the window or try to come in (hence the reason why we overslept). The apartment above did a lot of hard walking, stomping, and banging. Sounded like they were playing catch with weights. The carpet throughout this commercial space is harsh to walk on barefoot. Maybe it's because its made for commercial use. Lots of street noise - maybe because this place what not meant to be used as a residential property. The makeshift kitchen and bathroom are entirely too small. The shower is a joke. It's hard to clean yourself properly without bumping into the walls of what seems like a 2'x2' space. The toilet is a commercial toilet. Doesn't even have a lid. Toilets like these are require to be cleaned throughout the day. The price was not worth the stay. The AirBnb add needs to clearly state "This is a former office space/retail space". Not "Repurposed"! You know what? I think I will leave a review. Worst I've experienced on AirBnB!

This spot was nice with a small outdoor area to sit in. Only downsides are that you have to walk through the bedroom to get to the only bathroom, and no antenna for local channels for watching sports events (the TV does have a netflix account), and no microwave. Every corner of this eclectic bungalow was filled with unique craftsmanship and quirky collectibles. We really appreciated all the personal touches from super soft bed sheets to sleep under to the little hand packaged soaps and plush hotel quality towels in the bathroom. The location was convenient to all the restaurants and breweries we wanted to check out - most weren't more than 10 minutes drive. And we LOVED driving around in the surrounding neighborhood. If you stay here make sure you at least do that! We will definitely save this location to remember for our next Charlotte trip!

The Elizabeth neighborhood is a great location because you have the peaceful seclusion of tree lined streets but are less than 2 miles from Uptown Charlotte and many other places. This place is not only gorgeous on the inside but has a very central location. A nice walk to a couple great restaurants and bars and easy and quick uber/taxi to nearby popular places. Also, Allen was super helpful in recommending local spots for me to check out in Charlotte :) An added bonus is that the house is on a pretty secluded/quiet street which was nice because I was able to sleep in every morning. I would definitely stay again in the future and recommend this place for other guests.

Honestly, I had never stayed in a private room in an Air BnB and immediately got good vibes from Allen's place + after messaging with him. The neighborhood and house were great. I never actually saw him because I was in and out but would definitely recommend. His recommendations were great and so helpful! :)

We really enjoyed staying in this apartment! The pictures and description of the space is 100% accurate, except that it's even better in person. It's very private, quiet, and clean. John welcomed us with a bottle of wine, bottles of water/soda in the fridge, snacks, and binders full of information about the surrounding area. The TV and AC system were easy to use and. We chose to stay here because we love the neighborhood, and we really enjoyed being able to walk to our favorite places. It was also really nice to be able to park in the driveway and off of the street.

A sort of family adventure (mom, myself and my 1 year old son), that included a day workshop in the area for my mom while my son and I explored the area.. or not! We ended up hanging out and relaxing at the apartment. My son enjoyed the open floor plan, crawling around on the clean space. And when I had the chance, I thoroughly enjoyed the SUPER comfy bed. John even left baby shampoo for us! Also, the coffee provided, little treats, bottled water were a nice treat. While we didn't get to walk around the immediate neighborhood as I'd liked, there were several cafes and food markets just blocks away. If we make our way to Charlotte again, the Plaza Midwood is on the list of places to return!

Upon arrival the place was clean and very organized. John went to the extreme of having a bottle of wine, snacks, and drinks readily available in the room. I am very pleased with my overall stay. I am literally returning there again next week. Highly recommended host and listing.

He has thought of everything you may need and more. Although we did not meet John on this visit, he was in contact with us and gracious enough to allow us extended parking upon checkout. We loved our stay and will definitely return for our next Charlotte getaway.

I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay if I sat down and wrote out a wish list! They had everything you could need and more. The whole apartment was clean and comfortable. Nice, high end fixtures and furnishings. The bed slept amazing! We hope to find a mattress like theirs for our own home, even. The bedding and towels were great quality and they even had some beverages in the fridge and snacks on the counter when we arrived. I was thoroughly impressed with the accommodation itself, but it is also in a great neighborhood with tons of shops and restaurants nearby. Jon was very accommodating to our schedule and quick to answer any messages I sent regarding our stay. Super nice family. I could go on and on about how great this place is but I'm sure you get the idea by now. If you need a place in the Charlotte area, you won't be disappointed staying here. We definitely plan to stay again the next time we're in the area if it is available.

The place is great, a loft that is separated from the main house so plenty of privacy and clearly re-done recently. About ten minute cab ride downtown or so, very convenient. Highly recommend!
