Vacation Rentals in Charlestown

Just booked in Charlestown

Our peaceful farm is located between Newport and Narragansett with easy access to the amazing beaches of Southern Rhode Island! Come enjoy the beautiful little guest suite in our historic barn. Beach chairs, boogie boards and bikes provided!
Come enjoy the Private Guest Suite in the barn at our small gentleman's farm along the RI coast. The guest suite is a cozy, clean, peaceful spot to spend the night. We are 15 minutes from Newport, 10 minutes from Narragansett, 10 minutes from Wickford, 20 minutes from the ferry to Block Island, 15 minutes from the Quonset Ferry to Martha's Vineyard (May-Oct). The guest suite has a small sitting room, a bedroom, and a private bath. This listing is not appropriate for children. The bedroom has a queen sized bed. There is a full bathroom with a large shower stall. There are no kitchen facilities but we provide a small (dorm size) refrigerator with freezer, microwave, and coffee pot. There is no telephone but we do have good cell service and wireless internet in the barn. There is no TV. We provide fresh linens, bath towels, and even beach towels, 2 beach chairs, and 2 boogie boards. If you want to borrow a cooler or bikes, just let us know! Our farm was built in 1941, during WWII, as a “model farm”. A couple of neighboring families were concerned about food shortages during the war and decided that it would be prudent to build a small farm behind their summer homes. We ended up with all ten of the original buildings including the barn, a large greenhouse, and the farmer’s cottage to which we have since added on. The barn where you will be staying was originally set up for cows, sheep and pigs at one end, with the office and a bathroom at the other end. It is currently occupied by four horses at one end, and the guest suite at the other end with a private entrance. (You may hear the horses moving around during the night but usually they are quiet and outside the barn in their paddocks.) The barn is a separate building that you can pull up to and park next to. It is across a large yard from our house. We also have a dog, a cat, a rabbit, and some chickens. Although we are not doing much “farming” at the moment, there is a wonderful Farmer’s Market just up the road every Saturday morning. If you like peace and quite, and like farms, you will love this spot! No smokers please. No pets allowed - we have plenty! We are walking distance to a public bus stop and 15 minutes to trains at either the Kingston (AMTRAK) or Wickford (MBTA) station. We will gladly pick you up at the train or airport if we are available.
A short stroll down the dirt lane will take you into historic Saunderstown Village on the shores of Narragansett Bay. Saunderstown was originally home to the ferry (before the Jamestown Bridge was built in 1940) which took folks across to Jamestown. Those heading to Newport would then continue across Jamestown and board a ferry to Newport.
  • A very unique place to stay, we loved it! Mo was very helpful and everything ready, even when we turned up an hour earlier. If around you should check out Crazy Burger in Narrangansett for Dinner or Breakfast.

  • Quaint and quiet setting in a central location close to many sights RI has to offer.

  • My daughter and I had a wonderful, relaxing bonding time at this adorable get-away spot. I loved the location, once down the quiet dirt road, you feel so removed, and yet you are still close to so much!! Once inside, the cottage inspired decor makes you feel right at home. It is cozy, yet modern. You would never know that right outside the door is a beautiful working farm. With horses, chickens and the most love able cat, Misty. We cannot wait to go back! Thank you Mo! It was a pleasure to meet you, and thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us.

    Laura2015-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Mo was great. Flexible and friendly. It was a shame our stay was so short, Beautiful spot. excellent location.

    Leif2013-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great for weekend getaway around the Newport area. Mo was very friendly and the farm was definitely a pleasant stay. I'd recommend this to anyone visiting the area.

    Kornelius2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very easy place to relax and get some rest. We loved the horses and the sweet little grey cat. I wish we had booked for more than one night.

    Diane2017-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the farm was great! The little house was very cute, well-appointed, comfy and clean. We loved having their 3 horses as our neighbors. They were very sweet and let us pet them :) It was a very cool experience and would definitely recommend the farm on the coast.

    Jessica2015-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • I wish we planned ahead and had more time to stay and linger. The farm-ette was a delight, even in the rain. I loved the idea of sleeping in the B&B room in the barn, with the horse (she was quiet!) next door. The bathroom was fine, and the little refrigerator and microwave sufficient if you want to do breakfast in the room. After a night on the town (of Newport), we arrived at our little barn bungalow to surprise a yard-full of Cottontails. Rabbits abound! Tame and wild. Also I was glad we stayed in Narragansett, not in downtown Newport. It was just 15 minutes across the bridge - no real traffic on the way to and from the city. And Narragansett has its own beaches, Victorian buildings and homes, and history. I definitely would book here again.

  • I can't say enough positive things about our experience at this house. Deborah was so incredibly accomodating and welcoming as soon as we walked into her home. The rooms in the home were a good size and contained everything you could need. The house was very clean and so beautiful! The most amazing part of this home was the backyard! Beautifully large yard for kids to play games and have fun, a wonderful gas fireplace for cookouts, and a serene landscape to enjoy the sounds of nature at night. We even ran into a beautiful deer on our morning walk! This house is truly wonderful and great for families of any age and size!

    Leila2015-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • It was an amazing place to live. Deborah was very welcoming and she was very patient about everything. Deborah indeed has a very beautiful and peaceful house. It is very quiet around the house and it is like a castle in the middle of woods (LOL). It fitted 12 of us with no problem. We had a such a good time barbecuing on her porch, playing football at her huge lawn and chatting under a dark sky full of stars. Every time when I have a question, I texted Deborah and she replied back right away! We are 12 international college students who wanted to explore East Coast and have a great time for the labor day weekend. We have been looking for houses on airbnb and Deborah was the only one who did not judge and stereotype us for being "typical college kids who just want a place to drink and party". We explained our purpose of the trip and Deborah had no problem letting us to stay. We all appreciate that a lot. Cheers!

    Brad2015-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Deborah was so welcoming when we first arrived. She gave us a full tour of her beautiful house and answered any questions we had about our stay. My friends and I were attending a formal dance in Newport and her home was the perfect place to stay for the weekend. We enjoyed relaxing on the back patio and loved the fact that the house was tucked away. We truly can't say thank you enough for such a memorable weekend!

  • We give our highest recommendation for Deborah and Bittersweet Farm. We had 11 people stay here for a wedding. The multiple common rooms gave us plenty of room to play games, cook, and eat, while the five separate bedrooms gave plenty of private space for couples to get ready for the day. The location is a great balance between being secluded (you can be loud without disturbing neighbors) and being convenient (you can easily get to a beach or supermarket within 15-20 minutes). Deborah is also highly communicative and such a generous spirit. After all the wedding craziness, a couple guests forgot some things and Deborah found them and put them in a safe place for us to pick them up. The whole experience was absolutely perfect!

  • Lovely home on beautiful grounds very close to town, and relatively convenient to downtown Newport. Perfect setting for a girls' weekend celebrating my friend's upcoming nuptials. Deborah was a wonderful and thorough hostess. Would absolutely stay there again!

    Daria2017-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great experience with Deborah. Beautiful home that surpassed my expectations. Was perfect for a girls trip getaway with a bunch of my closest friends (total of 12). Spacious and easily slept us all. Great lawn/outdoor space to play games!

    Natalie2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Deborah's beautifully maintained and exquisite home offered a wonderful, weekend gathering spot for my family. None of us were local to the area. I was challenged to find a home large enough to accommodate 12 of us as we gathered to celebrate my daughter's college graduation. I feel fortunate to have found this and would love to go back for a week if resources allow. The house was immaculate. The grounds were serene and private. Plenty of room for everyone to spread out. Her modern kitchen was a treat to cook in. The weather held out and we had lovely meals on the back patio. Deb met us at the door, showed us around and then departed. She stayed in touch throughout the weekend to make sure that we had everything we needed. Highly recommend.ed

  • Deborah's home was stunning and absolutely inviting! Although a short stay, we all had such a comfortable night's sleep at the house. Deborah was available at any time we needed via phone and was really a wonderful host. The property is beautiful, peaceful and relaxing. Just what we needed :) Thanks again, Deborah!

  • Lovely location and such a well-decorated space. South County Rhode Island is a magical place and the location of this property makes it so easy to get practically anywhere in the area. We found some amazing local places to eat nearby. Westerly and Watch Hill are very closeby and have a ton of outstanding places to eat. Point Judith is just a few mins down the road with easy access to the Block Island Ferry, fishing charters, and Point Judith Lighthouse. The location is mins off of I 95 and very easy to get to. At the end of our stay, we spent a lazy afternoon with the window open and a lovely fall breeze in the air. Very quiet and private, the other guests were very nice. We couldn't believe how comfortable we felt there. Nearby are salt-ponds for kayaking, nature preserves for hiking and some of the best beaches from Maine to the Carolinas. This property is a gem; you won't regret staying here!

Lots of perks and they were spectacular hosts, very friendly and accommodating. Dogs were great too! I'd say our best overnight travel experience we've ever had! Thank you.

Quiet, country setting with relaxing gardens and colorful arty living space. Large room with Queen bed. AC and fan options. Plenty of room for relaxing!! Colorful and comfortable.
Charlestown is a small town on the ocean with access to beaches...Great little shops, The Bakery, Friday Farmers Market.
  • This was our first air bnb experience. It was definitely much nicer than staying at a hotel, and less expensive too. I am sure we couldn't have found better hosts than Tracey and Sue. They were very warm and hospitable. Their house was colorful, clean, neat and cheerful! There was a lot of interesting art to look at. The bedroom they provided was quite large and we had our own bathroom. It was nighttime when we arrived so when we woke up the next morning we were delighted to see a profusion of blooming flowers right outside our bedroom windows! They allowed us to use the kitchen to make eggs from their own chickens. And delicious bread from a nearby bakery! Thanks for a lovely place to stay Tracey and Sue!

  • Clean, quiet, artsy and charming.....fantastic and convenient location to great beaches and restaurants. Also not too far from Newport Mansions in Rhode Island and quaint seaport towns like Stonington and Mystic CT (you can cover a lot of territory at this location, if so desired)

    Sandra2017-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • The best Airbnb we had in our tour. We enjoied the hospitality, and of course the gardens. they are wonderful and i am showing the pics to my friends. Thank you very much for the uniqe expariance

    vivian2017-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • If you get a chance to stay at Tracy and Sue's place, grab it. The gardens are enchanting – every section tells a story – and the birds love it as much as we did. A true oasis. The house is equally beautiful – and so comfortable. We slept like well-fed babies. This is the perfect spot for relaxing, and there are so many adventures nearby – lots of great beaches, a wildlife refuge, kayaking, paddle-boarding, surfing... Plus although their house feels secluded, good restaurants and South County culture are easy to get to. Sue and Tracy are the cherry on top – you won't find more gracious and welcoming hostesses. We're coming back the first chance we get!

    Amy2017-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Tracy and Sue are great hosts, who make you feel very comfortable in their home. The room is bright and cheery, with great views of the garden. There are two comfy chairs in the room, which are great for curling up with a good book. The house is a little hard to find, so getting there before dark is a good idea.

    Sharon2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks for the warm reception helpful suggestions and lovely creative calm place to stay. We loved it!

1800s cozy cottage hidden away amidst beautiful stonework behind Hale Library. less than 10 minutes from Matunuck Beaches Ocean Mist Theaters Wakefield Narraganset. Garden patio. 1 double first floor, 1 twin second floor up steep stairs.
I grew up on this property, and I love it because it is completely unique. Its a house from the 1800s, so its quirky, and not all the angles in the house are necessarily 90 degrees, which I personally love (it is a really beautiful house!). You are the right kind of person to stay here if you appreciate the unique character of an old house. My mom and I did most of the artwork that is hung. BBQ on patio outside available to use!
  • Great place for a couple to spend time in the Matunuck area. We stayed for an event at the Ocean Mist and took Uber to/from the property. Master bedroom had a window A/C unit, but the night was cool enough for fans. Bring a fan or two if you're sleeping upstairs. Clean, spacious and stocked with the basic amenities including linens, towels etc.

  • Wonderful place in a great location. Very easy to get to local beaches and restaurants.

    Esteban2017-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at this location for five days and four nights and it was an excellent price for the location and all that was included! It was spacious and Tyler provided everything we needed! I would recommend this location to anyone!! I would recommend you bring an extra fan or so because there was no AC and only one unit in the back bedroom and the home got pretty hot.

    Beka2017-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • A very quaint and private location-even though you're very close to a main highway, the cottage is tucked in amongst foliage. Tyler was very responsive- we had a very easy check in.

    Kaitlin2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • A very quaint and funky little cottage. I was in town for my cousins wedding and stayed at this place with my boyfriend. It was super private and checkin/checkout was very easy and laid back. I had other family members over for brunch and the cottage was the perfect spot for us to come together. Beautiful outdoor space as well—and if you like baths the tub is GREAT!

    Sophia2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay. Awesome location and historic surroundings. Tyler was very friendly. I highly recommend staying here. Great visit. Thank you!

    Nancy2017-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • If there was a 4.5, that would have been my score. The only reason I didn't score this as 5 stars was that there is a very steep staircase leading to the second floor, and the living room furnishings weren't quite as comfortable as I had expected. Otherwise, this was a great value and in a great location, and I wouldn't hesitate to refer others here (as long as they were OK with the stairs). Tyler was very clear in his communications and the house was spic and span.

    Dorothy2017-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • What a fantastic place. Cozy and well taken care of. One of the best aspects of staying here is it's seclusion. Best part it's only a few minutes away from the beach. Can't wait to return in the future.

Beautifully renovated and charming house, built in 1900, on 3 wooded acres, backed by Burlingame State Park. Very close to beaches, hiking trails, great restaurants, and lots of fun activities. We have made our cozy home as comfortable and serene as possible so that you can rest and enjoy your time here. We hope that you love our little beach house as much as we do, and all are welcome in our home.
Our house was built in 1900 in Connecticut, but moved to Rhode Island in 1951! Since moving to it's current location, a large sunroom and adjoining garage have been added, with sliding glass doors to our brand-new deck. With the help of my daughter, we lovingly (at times begrudgingly), refinished, painted, cleaned, scrubbed, and polished every square inch of this house. Every wall, cabinet, and built-in has been painted, and most of the furniture and accessories have been refinished or created by us. We have scoured stores with paint samples in hand, to ensure that it is inviting, harmonious, and above-all comfortable. Have your morning coffee in the eat-in kitchen, sunroom, comfy living room watching the news or on the deck looking towards Burlingame. There are beautiful wild birds and you may catch a glimpse of a deer. Enjoy our vintage kitchen, with new glassware, flatware, and all of the essential cookware, as well as cute vintage china. There is no dishwasher but there is a huge and very cool 50’s sink with dishpan and rack. The bathroom (located on the first floor) also has a vintage cast iron tub and original tile and new plumbing. We have also added a 40-gallon storage tank for hot water, and a whole-house water filter. Our home has high speed Fios internet, cable with HBO and a landline that you may use for calls within the USA. There is a study upstairs to work in (if you must) or for reading and writing postcards. We have brand-new, super-comfy mattresses with beautiful linens, and towels. The back yard is very dark at night and perfect for star gazing. (There is a Dark Sky ordinance in Charlestown and the Frosty Drew Observatory in 5 minutes North of us on Route 1)
We directly abut Burlingame State park, which you can walk or bike to through our back yard. You can enjoy birdwatching, and possibly even a glimpse of a deer from our brand-new deck or from any window. The back yard is very dark at night and perfect for star gazing. (There is a Dark Sky ordinance in Charlestown and the Frosty Drew Observatory in 5 minutes North of us on Route 1). Please remember that Rhode Island has Mosquitos and ticks (which carry many diseases), so please consider wearing insect repellant at all times outside, and check for ticks after coming in. The posted speed limit on Route 1/Post Road is 50mph, but people often speed, so please be very careful coming in and out of the driveway, and never back onto Route 1. Our house is ideally situated because it is minutes away from not only beaches but everything from upscale shops to major chain stores within minutes. It's really easy to get to any destination because it is on Route 1 . There is so much to do in RI that I can't possibly list it all but I've tried to offer a few highlights in the guidebook section.(just contact me with your interests and I can help you)
  • Stayed with here for a girls trip and we kept saying Whataspot truly!!! Absolutely perfect place for a ladies weekend! There was 4 of us and we had more than enough room. The space is decorated lovely and the outdoor area is huge! We enjoyed the backyard and had a picnic. The home is close to beaches and great restaurants. Susan was extremely helpful and kind with her recommendations and making sure everything was ok. We are so happy we chose this place for our weekend away :)

  • What a wonderful spot! A true blend of English Garden and New England Beach. The thoughtful gestures of welcome were above any expectations....personalized gift bags for our Granddaughters, chocolates and wine for us! Close to the beaches, quiet, lovely yard and décor.

  • Bright and cheerful! We really enjoyed our stay and wished we could have stayed longer. This was an ideal spot for a weekend get- away. There are so many things to do in the area. Great place to stay!

  • Everything was as advertised and the house was immaculate. The host is very engaged in making sure everything goes smoothly. We would go back if we are in the area again.

  • What a lovely home! Cozy, quiet, clean. We used this as our headquarters for beach-going to Narragansett and Misquamicut. What we loved: The beach decor! The cleanliness. The quiet. Burlingame State Park in the backyard! Beaches five minutes away. The bottle of wine, coffee pods and chocolates Susan left for us! Susan's phone chat to make sure everything was A-OK upon check-in (and her awesome restaurant recommendations). No traffic to get to beaches. We would have preferred a bathroom on the same floor as the bedroom, but that's not a dealbreaker unless you have a weak bladder and need to make a nighttime dash (beware of the steep steps while sleepy). Would also have enjoyed a shorter distance to boogie-boarding beaches, but we could have checked that out ahead of time. Worth noting: We didn't have any trouble with our cell phone service and we appreciated the fast WiFi. Happy travels, all!

  • Sue's description of the property were spot on. The place is immaculate, clean, newly renovated, and comfortably sleeps four. It is a two minute drive to East Beach and Blue Shutters beach which is exactly what I wanted. Thank you Sue for a great experience!!

    Peter2017-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Susan's home was lovely, beautifully decorated and comfortable. The location is off the local highway that connects all the beaches and small towns in South County, making it very convenient to great eats and sites, including state parks literally in the backyard and five min drives away. In the house, it's quiet and spacious for two couples. Also, Susan's communication and recommendations were awesome. Thank you!

    Melanie2017-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend! Susan was communicative, thoughtful and her place was wonderful.

This small cabin is located in Charlestown, RI about a 1 mile walk to the town beach. It is an old vacation cabin, one room with a full size futon couch. In the main living room is the one sink; a separate room houses the shower stall and toilet. Clean, cozy but not luxurious! We provide all linens. While there is no stove, we do supply a coffee maker, microwave, tiny outside grill and mini fridge. It is on our property but separate from our home affording privacy in a wooded setting.
The little cabin is located on our property which is 7 1/2 acres in the woods in Charlestown Rhode Island about a mile from the beach on the south side of the highway. The beach is a short 1 mile bike ride or walk away. Although our home is on the same property, the cabin is located far enough away to offer complete privacy in a wooded setting. Our grounds are well landscaped with beautiful flower beds and a Hammock which our guests are welcome to use. Although there is no TV and Internet you won't miss it in this tranquil's location! Property does have a coffeemaker microwave and small fridge and we will provide coffee and tea. There is a small hibachi grill. We also can provide beachtowels (upon request) and beach chairs. All bed linens and towels are included and refreshed upon request or after 3 days stay.
The cabin is located within a mile to the town beach (walking or biking distance through the neighborhood) of Charlestown and the Breachway which is a state beach. Great access to the Block Island Ferry in Narragansett. Also nearby is Burlingame state park and many other hiking and biking trails. The beaches of South Kingstown, Westerly and Narragansett are all within a 15 minute drive (some even closer). Browse the Charming Coastal Towns of Connecticut and Rhode Island for Boutiques, Galleries, Antiques, and Fine Dining. In Mystic, visit the Aquarium and Mystic Seaport, visit Stonington, Old Lyme, Watch Hill, Narragansett, and Wickford. There are summer theatres in Westerly and Matunuck (Theater By The Sea about 5 miles from the cabin) as well as Shakespeare in the Park in Westerly. Visit Newport, take a Ferry to Block Island, or go to Providence,
  • I liked this kind of location because after being at a crowded beach or in one of the busy towns you can have some peace and quiet, which you would not get if you were in one of the business districts in the area in a hotel. Vacation is supposed to be a rest time, which I intended my couple of days to be.

  • Julia Anne's Guest Cabin was very nice. It was exactly as described. Upon arrival she had fresh cut flowers in several vases, snacks, and ice cold waters. She provided us with a list of things to do, pristine beaches, hiking, as well as places to dine. The cabin and property was very private and quiet. Peter gave us fresh picked zucchini and cucumbers, that we included in our dinner. we highly recommend Julia Anne's guest cabin for a. quiet beach getaway.

  • I can't say enough great things about Julia Annes place. We had the perfect beach vacation. Highly recommended.

    Dan2017-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the quiet & solitude of the place. Sylvan and private, yet very close to everything, including the ocean. We would definitely stay again.

  • We had a great time. Thank you!

  • My wife and I had a great time in Charlestown. The beach cabin was the perfect home base to have. It had everything we needed and was central to all the place we visited. Julia Ann has great ideas for places to eat and visit, she was welcoming and friendly, a great host.

    Julian2016-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Our host was fantastic - extremely helpful and flexible. She was helpful with local information and we loved the accommodation - it was simple and comfortable and lots of fun.

2 minute walk to beach. Room to store bicycles. New construction, modern & clean.
Conveniently located by Roger Wheeler State Beach, private easement to Salty Brine Beach and walking distance to Block Island Ferry, shopping and restaurants.
  • This rental is all about location! We enjoyed being very close to private beach and walking distance to all restaurants. Galilee is a great area, very family friendly and a quaint beach town. Sofa bed is not terribly comfortable, eggcrate helps a bit. Private hallway is also the way to access the bathroom which was only an issue for us because one of our children was sleeping in that hallway. You can hear cars on the road and people above you. Kitchenette was well stocked with small appliances and full refrigerator a plus! Although, the kitchen has no sink which again was only an issue because we traveled with small children. Michael was very pleasant upon arrival and departure, recommended restaurants, and graciously allowed us to extend our departure time by one hour. It is a great price for this rental. I would definitely return to the area and use Michael as a host again.

    Kathleen2017-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Location, location, location! This space has an ideal location to enjoy a beach vacation. We stayed a week and hardly used the car. We went to Block Island for a day, and just walked two blocks to the Ferry. We went to the beach more than once a day because it was such a short walk to get there. There are ample restaurants, fish markets, and ice cream shops in walking distance you don't really need to drive anywhere. We did however drive 10 to 15 minutes to some really outstanding fine dining restaurants. Michael is a very welcoming host and it was clear that he really wanted us to be happy with our stay there, which we were. He was very through in answering questions we sent him before hand. The space itself is what the photos show. It was very comfortable for two people. The central A/C is more than needed for the space, so even on the hottest days the room will be cool. The internet is fios, so it is really fast. As indicated in the listing, the bed is a pullout sofa. It is as comfortable as a pullout sofa might be expected to be. Overall, I give Michael 5 stars as a host!

    Greg Papi2017-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect stay. That’s what we’re calling our experience in Narragansett. It began with being greeted by our wonderful host, Michael, who provided us with information about our condo, the private beach portion of Salty Brine Beach, and the many dining options and local attractions. As soon as we opened the door, the first thing we noticed was the nautical motif and the clean look of the place. There was no clutter, and everything seemed to have a well-thought-out purpose and space. He had thought of every detail—from big plush towels in a basket to the rustic bathroom mirror and complete place settings in the dining area. The standard refrigerator, hot plate, microwave, mattress topper/egg crate for the sofa bed, and big wide-screen TV, among other amenities, were all we needed to be comfortable in the condo. It’s also all about the location! We soon found out that our condo was in an ideal spot. We could walk to the Block Island Ferry, to Nana’s or the Sweet Spot ice cream shops, to Buster Krab’s Beach Bar and Burger Shack for delicious crab cakes, and to George’s of Galilee Waterfront Seafood Restaurant for fine dining. We really didn’t need to drive anywhere to enjoy ourselves, but we did go to the upscale Trio’s and had a meal to remember. We also drove to Newport to beautiful Rosecliff Mansion, the site where “The Great Gatsby” movie was shot. All-in-all, we could tell that, yes, Michael is running a business, but it’s also true that he cares about his guests and ensures that they have quite a memorable stay. We certainly did!

    Hortense2017-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • It's very convenient to the beach

    Ray2017-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is a not terribly comfortable unit in a nice location right near the beach and restaurants in a commercial area on the shore. It is nice to be able to walk to the beach, and to eat, and to the Block Island ferry. But we found we didn't really want to hang out in this unit when we were ready for some down time. First off is the street noise during the day - the trucks, cars, motorcycles go by constantly, and it's intrusive. Second is that there really isn't any truly comfortable furniture. The couch is small; there aren't any comfortable chairs; and there's no bed. Sleeping on the fold-out couch was very uncomfortable. We had to take the mattress off the couch and put it on the floor, top it with the foam pad provided, and top that with the therma-rest pads we brought with us to make it comfortable enough to sleep on. Third is that although there is a full-size fridge and a hot plate to cook on, there's no water available except from the bathroom sink! If you use the dishes or kitchen implements provided, you have to wash them in the small sink as well. We would not go back. We left early to avoid another night sleeping on the floor.

    Anne2017-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was nice. The only thing was the sofa bed wasn't super comfortable and needed additional mattress topper/egg crate so as to not feel the bar under the mattress, and the walk to the beach via the private path had some nails/screws on it that luckily I saw and threw away...out of our way so as to not step on them on the way back from the beach (or have anyone else step on them), if it was just me I wouldn't have minded, but I was with my children so felt a little concerned seeing this on the beach path. The location is pretty good, and was an easy walk to and from the BI ferry. The price is fair for what you get.

  • This is a lovely, cozy, beach cottage. It's very kid friendly and clean! Just as described. Great communication and easy check in and out. It's an easy walk to the market and beach. Thank you for making it easy to travel with a young child!

    Ruth2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • The location was great but that's about it. We paid $250.00 for one night and we found hairs in our bed sheets and the bathroom was disgusting, (mold on shower curtain super dirty bathroom rug, and bedding that was over 30 years old). Broken cabinets and doors throughout. The main bed was like sleeping on a rock. The whole place just stunk. Worst Airbnb experience.

  • Katherine was clear about communicating and the stay was very easy and pleasant. The house is lovely, with many beds, ideal for a family or group stay. We were able to cook a meal on the stove with pots and pans. The house had plenty of room for seven friends to stay overnight. It was right near the beach, so we got to watch a beautiful sunset that night! Very quiet neighborhood and a beautiful back porch as well.

    Virginia2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful, relaxing time at Katherine's beach house. It is cozy and well equipped, has a beautiful deck and large yard. Our kids loved the fusball game and the organ! Katherine met us at check in and also left detailed instructions. A short walk to the market, ice cream shop and beach, but a very quiet location make this an excellent getaway for a family. Our two families enjoyed our stay very much!

My place is close to restaurants, beaches, parks, art and culture. You’ll love my place because of The Zen like healing atmosphere and the full 1080 3D surround sound movie theater and power reclining chairs. It is ideal for couples (up to three), solo adventurers, business travelers and families (with older kids). Although it is set up like a spa, it is ideal for sleeping and relaxing while enjoying our quaint town by the ocean and salt ponds. Go here for more details. http://energycenterRI.com
My place is set up as healing/relaxing environment, so that anyone spending time in there can let go of all their stress and recharge.
  • The host's description of the place was just what we found. It was the perfect place to go and relax in after a stressful day of moving into a house in the area. we will be reaching out to host again in the future as other guests come to the area.

  • It's a hidden gem. It's pretty close to a lot of stuff by car, but it would be easy to spend the afternoon in Nicole's pool as well. The reason I would recommend it so highly is that Nicole just goes above and beyond to try and make sure you have a great stay.

  • Nicole's place is very comfy and relaxing. Perfect for a quiet night away, with the comforts of a clean warm cute Place!

    Jessica2017-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • This place was close to nearby beaches and restaurants, but was tucked away in a small neighborhood. Nicole has a beautiful space, and we particularly enjoyed the pool and hot tub. We only stayed the night, but we would love to stay for longer in the future!

    Nicholas2017-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • I recently stayed at Nicole's home for a little getaway with my SO. Nicole's place was absolutely lovely and was even better in person. I think her place has everything you would ever want - a full kitchen, grill, firepit, TV, pool, etc. We were also impressed by the décor and interiors such as the barn door, bedding, soft towels, and candles. Nicole was so accommodating and friendly even before we arrived. She asked if we needed anything so she could prepare to make our trip even more amazing. She even offered to drop us off to the beach or harbor with bikes if we wanted. Her kitchen was also stocked with tons of snacks and food which came in very handy when we stayed inside during the rainy days. Her TV also had access to all the movies and TV shows. Her place is also in a great location - short drive or bike ride to the beach, restaurants, and stores! The neighborhood was very safe and quiet. It was a 15 min drive to the Point Judith Harbor where we went on a day trip to Block Island. Everything was such a short convenient drive away. My SO and I will definitely be back to stay here when we come back to Rhode Island. Thanks Nicole for being an awesome and wonderful host!

    Michelle2017-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Nicole's place was perfect and so comfortable. We stayed for a week with a 3 year old and an 8 month old. Perfect amount of space, kitchen had everything we needed. We loved having access to the pool and took advantage of an evening movie poolside. Nicole is a thoughtful, responsive, and helpful host. Would recommend and stay again without hesitation.

    Jennifer2017-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • If you're looking for quiet and peaceful setting with a swimming pool, the cozy beach apartment will be a terrific choice. The apartment is very private and surrounded by woods, lovey plantings and landscape. There are bikes to ride to the State beach only 1.5 mi away. Great destination fo a 1-3 night getaway.

    Jerome2017-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • Nicole's place is gorgeous! The space is beautiful, clean, comfortable, and couldn't have been better! The pool is great and it was super fun to swim and listen to music on her cabana speaker system. Nicole was very kind, attentive and went out of her way to make us feel special and to acknowledge Mike's birthday. Thank you for a fantastic stay, Nicole!

We have made this property exactly like we want when we go on vacation. A place to relax, spread yourselves out, with minimal packing needs and forget about life for a while. We have made it as maintenance free as possible and have tried to think of everything you may need, but are thankful for any constructive criticism to make it even better! It has a true beachy feel to it, right down to the decor. In the event of a rainy day, or an important sporting event, there is a 43 inch SMART TV that allows you to log in with your own netflix or hulu account. Free Wifi too! Plenty of games for kids and adults to enjoy, at least 2 beach chairs, a beach cart on wheels, yard games etc. and a gas grill of course. Always open to suggestions!!
Barney Avenue is a dead end street which just enhances the privacy and safety of this residence that sits on 7.76 acres! We own the property next to this, "Beach Haven II". Nothing but nature from the deck out back. Bird and bunny watching while sipping coffee . Despite 2 restaurants with bands a block away, you can't hear a thing from this house!
  • Everything about our stay was perfect. We can't wait to go back again. Close to the beach but still private with a yard. We had everything we could possibly want in the home. Stephanie was nice enough to accommodate the dates I needed. This allowed our family to spend some time at the beach together.

    Alyssa2016-08-30T00:00:00Z

  • In what would be considered the off season for a great beach house, we found a cozy, warm, and inviting Christmas holiday reunion home for our overflow visiting family. We live a few minutes away, but didn't have room to accommodate everyone. Communication with our host was easy and friendly, and the house was exactly as described. Will definitely be planning future family gatherings knowing that such great accommodations are nearby!

    William2017-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay. The place is spacious, clean, and nicely laid out. The location is ideal for the the two beaches, and is also very quiet. Stephanie was a great host, and made us feel very welcome. She was very responsive and accommodating with all of our requests. We can't wait to stay here again.

    Jason2015-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • My family had a wedding in the area and all 8 of us stayed comfortably in this beautiful house. The house had everything we needed and Stephanie was prompt and pleasant in all our communication. Loved being able to grill at the house!

    Bethany2017-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I stayed here with my parents while visiting Rhode Island for my brother's wedding. We had a great time at the Matunuck Beach House! We loved the relaxed and fun vibe, well-stocked kitchen, large dining area, comfortable king bed, and the bright, clean and cheerily decorated rooms. The location is fabulous, especially if you are a surfer; it's close to one of the best surf spots in the area. Stephanie is a great host who left useful tips and local restaurant menus, communicated well, and checked in to make sure we had everything we needed! We'd be delighted to return anytime our travels find us back on the East Coast!

    Dawn2017-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great place and experience. The Host was terrific and very accomodating. I would give this place 5 stars overall!

    Conor2015-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Stephanie was very prompt at letting us know that our reservation was accepted. Her house is welcoming and everything described online was accurate and then some. We were home for unhappy circumstances, but their house made for a great retreat when we needed it and gathering place for family and friends. Stephanie thinks of all "the little things" from night lights to kitchen gadgets, her house is well stocked. Also nicely decorated. Loved all the beachy sayings! We had a minor issue that we told her about and I was amazed by their prompt attention to the matter and seriousness about fixing the problem. My children loved playing the games they had and it was so nice having internet and cable. The neighborhood is relatively quiet. There is a local restaurant and bar across the street from Barney Ave that is very popular, but all-in-all, it was better than I expected when we heard there was an all day spring break celebration going on one day. I will be keeping her house in mind for future trips home, I would definitely stay there again.

Light filled, 550 sq. ft. loft separate from main house. Double bed, pull out twin sofa, air mattress available. Kitchen has mini-fridge, microwave, coffee pot, no cook. Bath has 2 person jacuzzi tub. Open floor plan with living and dining areas.
Enjoy your own private space where you can come and go without passing through the owners living quarters. I do not provide a full breakfast since the loft apartment is equipped for guests to manage their own food. I will have it stocked with coffee and tea. The jacuzzi bathtub has a hand held shower hose. The TV has cable access as well as being equipped for watching movies. We provide a selection of movies for your enjoyment.
We are in a rural location which provides a beautiful retreat from in-town living. It does mean that you will need to anticipate driving some distance to area attractions. The closest grocery store is about 13 minutes away as are some basic restaurants. University of RI is 15 - 20 minutes. Beaches are 20 - 30 minutes away. Bigger towns such as Wakefield or Narragansett are 30 minutes away. Newport is about 45 minutes. Providence is also 45 minutes.
  • Lynn was a fantastic hostess and the loft space is exceptionally beautiful. My friends and I stayed there while attending a wedding nearby, and Lynn was very accommodating. I wish we could have stayed longer!

  • Lynn was a wonderful host! She met us when we arrived and showed us to the room which was just beautiful! We were attending a wedding at the Farmer's Daughter, and she even told us how long it usually takes to get there so we would not be late. The room was so lovely- bathroom was stocked with towels and toiletries- we just loved it!

  • We really enjoyed our stay. Everything was exactly as described, super clean and the hosts were wonderful. Highly recommend.

  • Lynn was there when we first arrived to greet us. She is a very sweet host for this home. She will do whatever you need to make you feel comfortable. The loft is totally adorable and well stocked with soaps, blankets, pillows, games, movies, coffee, teas, toaster oven, microwave, electric tea kettle, coffee pot, a heater and air conditioner for if you need it cooled down or like it warmer. There were lots of pamphlets of things to do in the area. Everything was super clean and it was real quiet! Loved this place!

  • We loved the space and location of this place. Lynn was very accomadating and clear with directions about our stay. We highly recommend this little apartment and enjoyed our stay very much.

  • Lynn was prompt in replying to messages and she was there to greet me at our agreed upon time. The space was very clean and exactly as pictured. This is a great place; spacious and quiet. WiFi worked great. I wish I had spent more time there so I could have checked out the trails.

    Matthew2015-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Lynn and Paul's. My boyfriend and I stayed overnight before a short trip to CT, and we really felt like we were away from everything. It was very relaxing. The 2 person jacuzzi tub was amazing. The bathroom was well stocked with towels, and Lynn even provided non toxic and organic toiletries. The apartment is beautiful; the photos really don't do it justice. It was well stocked with organic coffee and milk, an assortment of tea, and dishes and glassware. The bed was very comfortable and we were perfectly warm during our winter stay. Lynn was very friendly and provided clear directions to her place. We would definitely stay again when we are in the area!

    Lindsay2017-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • I felt like I was on my own private, luxurious, quiet retreat in the country, with Lynn just a knock away if needed. It was so lovely and I felt completely safe. The setting is beautiful and the loft is roomy and comfortable. The bed was great. I took a long walk down the country road and then sat in the garden for about an hour enjoying the quiet. Lynn was very helpful and had the room stocked with information about restaurants and things to do in the area. I wish I lived closer. I'd make it a regular retreat stop for myself! I loved the two cats too.

By two bodies of water. Green Hill Pond and Charlestown Beach and Breachway. 1 queen size bed, one bunk bed, sleeper couch and futon in enclosed screened porch. Fenced in yard.
Quiet beach community. Please be courteous to our neighbors and their guests.
  • This is a cute, cozy, and clean place! It's beautifully decorated to set the beach house mood, and located in a quiet, nicely kept neighborhood. Easy access to Charlestown Beach & Breachway. 10 minute bike ride. We had a shuttle system - dropped off the family & beach stuff, and one of us rode back to the beach on the bike. Marcia is a helpful, responsive host. The weather could have been more cooperative, but that's the way it is! :)

    tony2017-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Staying here was an absolute pleasure! the location was close to the beach and some great shops and restaurants, but still had that low key residential feel. I loved the cozy vibe and Marcia and her family were so kind, helpful and welcoming. I would absolutely stay here again! - Thanks for a great getaway, Marcia!

    Jennifer2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Family and our dog Chester had a great time at this beach house location. Charlestown has a great beach and some nice restaurants. Easy access to Block Island for a great day trip with your dog. Marcia left a nice bottle of wine and treats for the dog. Enjoyed meeting Marcia and her family. Chester enjoyed his time with their dogs.

  • This is a great house in a fantastic location. Very accessible to the beach by walking, bike riding, or car. We had a family of four. Two adults and two older teenagers. We had enough room and we found our stay most enjoyable.

    Michelle Putrino2017-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • My family of four stayed at the apartment for just shy of a week. We were traveling with two young children (5 and 1) and Marcia was very accommodating with late check-in and out to suit our needs. There was even a small gift of a beach pail and bubbles left for our kids which was so sweet! The apartment was very clean and stocked with kitchen essentials. The only thing you would have to bring is any towels you'd like to use (regular, beach, hand towels) as there aren't any to use there. The outdoor shower was a huge bonus, and lots of fun for the whole family to use. There is a nice screened in porch with a table and a couch and a back patio with a picnic table as well, there were plenty of places to sit, eat, and relax. The apartment is within walking distance to a small neighborhood beach (good for kayaking and sunbathing) and the Charlestown town beach. There are a collection of little shops, a deli, restaurant, bakery, and farm stands about a mile down the road which was very convenient for morning coffee and a bite to eat. I would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone that wanted to spend some time by the beach and stay in clean and very reasonably priced accommodations. Thanks again to Marcia and family for a great stay!

    Jennifer2017-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed Marcia's cottage. It is the perfect place to find some tranquility while at the beach. She is also a great hostess!

    Rebecca2017-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • This gem was perfectly located and Marcia could not be a more gracious host ! She bent over backwards to accommodate us and even gave us a little gift of wine ! I would highly recommend this spot to any and everyone!

    Kate2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Clean as advertised. Sparse cottage great if you want to go to the beaches. It is a very dark apartment as it is on the first floor with vegetation and porches blocking all light. I would not recommend staying there when the host is there as their dogs woke us up in the middle of the night and early in the mornings. Host was very responsive when we had questions or concerns.

  • My wife and adult children had a wonderful weekend stay at Elizabeth's cottage on Charlestown Beach. Cottage description and pictures were accurate. The house was clean and neat, beds comfortable and kitchen was extremely well equipped for any kind of cooking or barbecuing. The host was also easy to communicate with and was quite accommodating with a few requests. While the cottage is small, when you're directly on the beach with many other activities in the area, you don't need much indoor room. All in all, a great experience. Thanks Beth.

    Bob2017-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • This home is perfect to recharge & relax. My husband and I were looking for a place to stay with our 9 month old son and this home did not disappoint. We enjoyed taking morning walks to the breakway, dinner at Mattunick Oyster Bar (a must!), checking out the Fantastic Umbrella Factory and breakfast at The Bakery (the cinnamon roll is amazing!!). The beach was beautiful; we were so lucky to have perfect weather! The house is well equipped to make dinner (I highly recommend the Charlestown Super for fresh seafood), bedrooms/bathrooms were clean and the beds were comfy. There were cards and a few board games that provided some nightly entertainment. Our favorite part was being able to put our son to bed and enjoying the sunset on the deck. It was a perfect weekend and we cannot thank Beth enough for being such a gracious host. We can't wait to rent again!

    Alicia2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • This is a fantastic house located right on the beach. It is very clean and well appointed, and has a wonderful deck overlooking the ocean and a private beach as well. The only thing better than the house is the wonderful hospitality of the owner, who was a terrific communicator and genuinely cared that I had a great time at her house. I will definitely rent this house again, and I can't wait for my next visit!

  • The was the best vacation ever! An absolute beautiful place and an amazing host to work with! Thank you

  • Elizabeth's place is right on the ocean. You can hear the waves from anywhere in the house. In fact, the house is only about 30 or 40 yards from the surf. I had never stayed in a house right on the ocean, and it is an experience! The rhythmic waves relaxed me immediately. It's such a strong sensory experience that I told my wife, should I owned a place like this, I would never leave. The house has two bedrooms and a loft, as well as a spacious kitchen/dining room/living room area, and my favorite, the deck, complete with table chairs and umbrella. All of the beds were comfortable. Most importantly, it was very clean. There was a lot of writing I wanted to do, and I truly believe that the ocean enhanced my powers of concentration. Elizabeth, even though she was halfway around the world, was extremely attentive to my emails. Whenever I had a question, she was on it. Also, check out the on-line manual she wrote. It gives restaurant information along with describing the placement of things in the house. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals. There is a signed, private beach right in front of the house, beach chairs, an umbrella. I swam in the ocean on Labor Day and it was bracing and invigorating. I took long walks on the beach past fisherman, bathers, and fires on the beach. (But you are not allowed to build a fire on Elizabeth's private beach.) This is one special house. Everyone in our party would love to return ASAP.

  • This cottage is close to the beaches and activities and restaurants. It is in a residential neighborhood but you feel like you are alone in the woods because it is surrounded by trees with a very secluded feel, even though there is a next door neighbor less than 50 yards away. Perfect for a family or group of 6 or fewer. Very unique house.

Our home is located in a quiet setting, yet close to beaches. We welcome groups, families (with kids), couples and solo adventurers.
"Haversham Home" stretches itself out mostly on one story giving a spacious feeling. It was designed by an architect and built in the late 1960's. Many of the original design elements are retained. Two rooms are upstairs; the library, and the cupola bedroom. We have a Finnish wood burning stove in the living room and a corner couch. Our sunroom has sliding doors on two sides. From here you can walk out to the main flagstone terrace where we have a gas BbQ grill available to use during the warmer months of the year and a dining table with a sun umbrella. A second flagstone terrace faces south west. I like to watch the sunset here where you can see the last light shining through the trees across the small valley on the next small ridge. The kitchen has space for several people to work together. The dining table stands under the circular opening to the upstairs library. Our home is located on a cul-de-sac in a very quiet area of the seaside town of Westerly, Rhode Island. South County Rhode Island has, according to the "South County Tourism Council", 100 miles of coastline. For some suggestions of beaches you might like to visit a good place to start looking is on the Southcountryri online site; go to "what to do"/ "beaches". From our home it is a short drive to many of the area's beautiful beaches. The closest beach to “Haversham Home” with parking available to the public is "The Dune's Beach" which is less than 2 miles from our home. Further along Atlantic Avenue there are many more beaches with parking open to the public, the biggest being "Misquamicut State Beach". In Watch Hill there is "East Beach" and Napatree Point . Heading east the first public beach you come to is "Charlestown Breachway", next "Blue Shutters Town Beach" in Charlestown, and then Rhode Island's 3 mile long beach at Charlestown: "East Beach".
Westerly is a lively seaside beach town. In Historic downtown Westerly there are many popular restaurants as well as coffee shops, art, theatre and music locales. In the summertime "Shakespeare in the Park" takes place in Westerly's Wilcox Park. The Misquamicut Beach Association organizes events on the Beach in the summer. Perhaps you are in town for one of their music or movie nights. I recommend the following places for day excursions. Block Island, RI reached per ferry from Galilee. Mystic, CT offers touristic attractions such as the Aquarium and Mystic Seaport. Newport, RI is about a 30 minute drive from us. Providence, Rhode Island's capital, is about a 45 minute drive from our home.
  • Donna was an excellent host. She was readily available and friendly. The home was excellent- it was exceptionally clean and spacious. Would recommend to anyone looking for a secluded getaway.

  • very luminous and welcoming house in a beautiful country landscape with access to great private beach and pond. the house has multiple reading and eating areas--indoors and outdoors. Donna is a very generous and helpful host. the fire pit was definitively a big plus. the house is well equipped with all you may need and very spacious.

    Steve and Serenella2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Donna's place was gorgeous, spacious, bright and in a lovely part of westerly, close to beaches and a pond. Donna was kind and thoughtful and very communicative. Would highly recommend.

    Toyin2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Donna was very attentive, the house is very spacious. We had 9 people and did not feel cramped. Cleanliness was over the top. There was a little withdraw with no tv, but that was part of the experience we wanted. The wifi -our phones and computers worked great. We would definitely stay there again.

    Stephen2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • This is an architecturally unusual, yet comfortable house. It is large and offers privacy and comfort to a large group. The kitchen is well equipped; the patio is great for grilling. The decks and lawn and gardens are restful and lovely. While not on the beach, the house is close to several beautiful beaches. There is a salt pond within walking distance that would be great for kyacking. There are very good seafood restaurants nearby and great places to buy farm fresh produce. We found this house a perfect fit for our family, including an active two year old. Westerly is a beautiful beach town, and Donna, our hostess, is knowledgeable about the area. Donna went above and beyond our expectations to make us welcome and to make our vacation enjoyable.

Great weekly summer rental in Matunuck, RI. Redone one bedroom in-law apartment in quiet, beach neighborhood. Short walk to South Kingstown Town Beach, Potters Pond (at end of street) for kayaking, market, surf shop, laundry, the Ocean Mist, etc.
Redone in-law apartment with comfortable living room with large flat screen TV with cable and dvd player. Bedroom with closet, dresser, and comfortable queen size bed. Kitchen with full stove (added for summer of 2015) with all basic kitchen utensils. Also has microwave, toaster, refrigerator/freezer, and coffee maker. A comfortable couch with a pullout full size bed replaced the futon (Aug 1, 2015). Outside there is a small deck with a grill with side burner. Beach chairs and towels provided. Can also provide (if requested) two beach cruiser bikes, boogie board, or kayaks & paddle board (which are great for Potters Pond right at the end of the street). Easy paddle across the pond to east matunuck beach. Quiet, summer neighborhood with a great Matunuck Beach vibe. Walk right to south kingstown town beach. Pet friendly if you have a pretty well behaved furry friend. Window AC unit is available if requested but usually a pretty good sea breeze.
Walk to the ocean. Great, clean water, waves, and breeze.
  • This in-law apartment is a great place to get away and hit the beach in RI! The North Kingstown Town beach is about a 7-10minute walk away but this place is close to MANY great beaches in RI if you want to hop in the car for a few minutes. I stuck with the walk away NK beach since I'm originally from RI and really loved that this beach seemed less crowded than others I've been to. I was looking for a low prep and low stress get away and certainly found it! The apartment itself is very clean and the bathroom is quite spacious for a small apartment. Actually, all of the rooms felt more spacious than I had expected. The kitchen doesn't have a stovetop/oven or appliances such as a toaster or microwave but there is a grill on the deck directly off the kitchen. I was perfectly fine with this as I didn't plan to spend my time cooking in the kitchen anyhow. Michael is the host/homeowner who is extremely approachable and laid back. He was very responsive and offered some great recommendations for dinner, lunch, and recreational activities. He was happy to offer the use of the kayaks and paddle boards and even to drop them off at the beach or salt pond. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a low key, relaxing vacation by the beach.

  • My sisters and I spent 3 nights at the apartment and had a great experience! The space is nicely decorated and fully equipped with just enough space for the 3 of us. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and the quick walk to the beach. It was a perfect weekend trip!

    Dana2015-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment in the beachy community of Matunuck is quite comfortable and has all the essentials. The host, Michael, lives in the attached house and was always friendly and available, along with his adorable dog Wrigley. The best part is the location in a charming residential neighborhood with a salt water pond at the end of the street -- great for swimming and kayaking -- and South Kingstown ocean beach an easy walk or bike ride. We live in the Boston area and this was a delightful and easy getaway.

    Christine2015-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • This place, and the neighborhood it is in, were everything we could have hoped for. My husband and I were looking for a low key beach town to spend an extended weekend with our toddler. The beach is a short walk away and there are great restaurants nearby as well. We loved the Matunuck Oyster Bar and Ocean Mist right in the area. On one evening we drove to Narrangansett, which was 15 minutes away, to check out the great restaurants there too. It was ideal to have multiple options nearby and still be in what felt like a secluded and peaceful neighborhood. Michael was very accommodating and the place was very comfortable. I’m also 7 months pregnant and found the bed to be very comfortable (which is no small feat). We would definitely return to this place if we were ever back in the area.

    Natalia2014-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Superb location! Everything in walking distance.....beautiful beaches, pristine salt pond, farmers market, small grocer. Flat perfect for 2. Michael is a perfect host...we took our dogs this time, but would love to go back and borrow (or rent) bikes and paddle boards!

    Susan2014-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was fantastic for me and my wife. It was very clean and just as described. We were going to a wedding nearby and we were just over a mile away so it was an extra great location for us on Labor Day weekend. Matunick is a great location to boot with lots of things to do in this beach area. Some of the people renting hotel rooms and some local folks at the wedding were jealous because they were 20 or 30 minutes away! Check in and check out were flexible and Mike was friendly as was his dog Wrigley. I would highly recommend the apartment! Thanks very much Mike and we hope to see you again!

    Joseph2015-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time. The apartment is small, but comfy. The bed very comfortable. Michael was a great host. Good suggestions for beaches and meals out. Our dog was very welcomed and he had a great time too! Thanks!

    Roberta2015-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderfully relaxing few days at Michael's adorable apartment. He was super helpful to us (even when we had lots of questions about dog beaches) and the kitchen is well-stocked and everything was clean and welcoming!

  • Great spot in an excellent location. As long as you don't mind sharing a house with other renters and maybe having AC or not, this is a great place!

  • This was my second stay. Charlie and Emily are fantastic hosts. There were other guests at the house creating a homey feeling. The room is large and has a private bathroom. Will stay with them in the future for sure.

  • Chas and Em have a beautiful & quiet place in the country even though Its only about 20mins to Newport, 15mins to Narragansett. It feels like a home away from home.

    Daniel2017-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • As always, Charlie and Em went above and beyond as hosts. Upon arrival after a very long drive, they fed us a delicious meal, and the rest of the evening was filled with good conversation and laughter. The room was cozy and the bed was super-comfortable. Check-in is a breeze. There is a generous supply of breakfast food and fruit, and the coffee is top-notch. I will not stay anywhere else when I'm visiting my son at URI!

  • Very cosy and welcoming. Hosts were traveling but very attentive to needs and the place is clean and the snacks were an unexpected bonus!

  • The hosts are very generous and keep a clean property. The location is fairly quiet but still only about a 20 minute drive from Newport. Highly recommended.

The 1st floor has two bedrooms with queen beds and a full bath. The 2nd floor has a full kitchen, pull out couch, full bath and room for an inflatable bed. A few miles from several local beaches. Newport and 9 miles from the Block Island Ferry. Fishing charters, fresh seafood and salt air! 4:20 friendly.
You will have your own deck and gas grill. The property is on 3 wooded acres and surrounded by rock walls making it great for dogs. Feel free to ask if any guests are immediately checking in following your departure. If not, we would rather see you enjoy breakfast and a walk on the beach before stressing about packing.
  • Chris and Cynthia's place is in a good location, close to the main road and to the beaches. They are hospitable and make you feel welcomed. The house is comfortable and clean.

    Michelle2017-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely LOVED this space. It's basically a 2-family home - Chris/Cynthia reside in the house but we had total privacy on our side during our stay. They left us with a bottle of wine, a few beers and a variety of board games to choose from in the living room area, which they didn't have to do. They also offered to get us some groceries during the stay. So amazing and so nice and always communicated with us to make sure we were ok and to recommend things to do/places to eat in the area (Ocean Mist is a must). The home is very spacious and the beds/couch are beyond comfortable. Neighborhood is very quiet but we had music playing late at night and had no complaints or issues. Neighbors are also very friendly. Overall this was a great experience and home and we 100% recommend it to anyone looking to Airbnb in RI.

  • Chris and Cynthia go above and beyond to make sure you are both comfortable and welcomed. Beautiful quiet home with an amazing yard. Very close to Newport and Block Island ferry among other great local places and beaches. There's nothing they could've done to improve our stay, absolutely perfect all around. We will be back for sure!!!

    Andrew2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Chris and Cynthia were amazing hosts! We had not a thing to worry about and everything was as listed in the listing. When there was one item we asked about (a hair dryer), it immediately was provided! Such a comfortable space with amenities provided from coffee, to cold beverages, to even fun games for our family game night! We would love to return if ever we find ourselves in the area!

    Amy2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Chris and Cynthia have a wonderful home and were very accommodating. The house was clean, spacious, up-to-date, and full of amenities. We had everything we needed, from kitchen utensils and supplies to towels for the beach. Wifi was great, the beds were very comfortable, and Chris and Cynthia were available and so friendly if there was anything we needed. The location is great and a quick drive to the beach and great restaurants. I can't say enough wonderful things about this home. We were very pleased with our visit, and I highly recommend it!

    Megan2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is our second stay with Chris and Cynthia AND we look forward to staying at their place again in the very near future. Super accommodations, great location and perfect hosts!

    Nicole2017-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Chris and Cynthia are the most kind and welcoming hosts! Their property is simply beautiful and goes above and beyond any needs for a trip. We highly recommend staying here!!!

    Mercedes2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay in a residential neighborhood. We met both Chris & Cynthia who showed us different things about the rental. My husband and I used this rental for family weekend at University of Rhode Island. At the last minute our URI student and her brother both decided to come and stay too, and it was no problem at all. Our dog was completely welcome too! The house was sparkling clean, roomy & well decorated. There were ample beverages available (white wine, red wine, water, coffee) & not to mention chocolate! The beds were comfortable. We felt very welcome and would stay again if we needed to travel with the dog to this area. Great place!

Our home away from home is perfectly situated on the coast of Rhode Island making it an ideal location. Enjoy the water, the history, the cuisine & great wineries. The In-Law Suite on the first floor is great for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids). 30 minutes to Newport & 20 mm to Block Island Ferry. You'll find a fire pit in the yard with Adirondack chairs where you'll able to enjoy the sunset over the pond, and the beautiful display of stars at night.
The in law suite offers the privacy you would expect when renting an entire home . However, the cost is more affordable. Rental includes full use of yard , outdoor shower and outdoor fire pit (also used by owner). Be.
Walking distance 2 blocks to pond where you can enjoy kayaking, clamming or just watch the sunset. Kids can ride their bikes up and down block or play in back yard. Enjoy a short walk to the beach, is just under a mile away.
  • We enjoyed our stay at Linda's house. The house is located in a fairly rural area of Rhode Island and you're very close to the water. The house was well stocked with whatever we needed and Linda replied promptly whenever we had a question. The unit we stayed in was part of an overall house but we still felt pretty secluded. I'd definitely recommend this property if you're looking for a place, a little out of the way while still being close to the water.

    Eric2016-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • My family and I had a very good experience staying at Linda's place. Unfortunately it was raining and cold during our entire stay. There isn't too much to do in the town; therefore we had to travel to either Westerly, Narragansett or Newport for activities for the kids. The restaurants are also better in Narragansett and Newport. The apartment is very clean and nicely furnished. My only advice is to bring extra towels, especially if you plan on going to the beach during the nice weather. There is no washer and dryer; thus, making it a bit difficult to stay here for more than a few days with children. I did not get to meet Linda but she responded promtly to my email. The check in process was very easy. I would recommend this place during beach season.

  • We just returned from a two week stay at Linda's. She was a most gracious host and offered us use of almost everything in her home. This included her garage for our bikes, kayaks, beach chairs, goodies from her garden and her giant spatula for pizza making! The space was perfect for our family. We had four people (and a dog) staying there the majority of the time but more can stay comfortably. The additional trundle bed and pull out couch made it possible for us to have additional family visit for a few days here and there. The house is stocked with all you need for your stay including towels and sheets. Many rentals require you to bring them which can take up quite a bit of room in the car. The yard is especially nice as you have your own patio area with a table, grill, chairs and shower. It is also fenced so that our dog was able to enjoy some freedom and laying in the sun outside without being on a leash. The beach which in my opinion is one of the nicest in Rhode Island, is a very short bike ride away (I believe .8 miles) and the pond to launch kayaks is just a 3 minute walk. Everyone we met in Linda's family (including her dogs) were friendly and welcoming. We highly recommend a stay at her home.

    Maria2017-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Linda and Larry provided a beautiful apartment for our vacation. The space was new, clean and well appointed. The wood floors were beautiful, the beds were comfortable and the sheets an excellent quality. It was clear that the hosts put a great deal of thought into making their guests' experience enjoyable. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed for cooking and dining. The cabinets had everything from sturdy plastic cups for kids' juice to cocktail glasses for the adults. The bathroom had a nightlight, shampoo, and little paper cups. The shower has a towel hook right next to it. The apartment felt private. The outdoor shower was very inviting and right next to our back door. Their home is a short walk to a beautiful beach where one can walk for miles. Their dogs are well behaved(URL HIDDEN)would definitely stay here again.

  • Linda was on top of things from the minute we made our reservation to the day of travel and beyond. The place was clean, comfortable and in a quiet neighborhood - just the way we like it. Only two of us, so we didn't need the other bedrooms but we didn't lack for anything. We felt it was a good value and would definitely stay at Linda's again.

  • I would not hesitate to stay/rebook at Linda's home. Everything is as described. The home's location is very close to the pond and beach (both walkable) and also close to a coffee shop and oyster bar. I went for a quick weekend getaway (wish I stayed longer). Linda was very flexible and quick to respond. Her home is very clean with almost all kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom supplies. Loved the neighborhood and the home!

Beach cottage with breathtaking harbour views will provide you the ulimate, relaxation getaway. Water views from almost every window and a large deck that wraps around 2 sides of the home for entertaining or unwinding. The house is set on at the end of a peninsula in the Harbour Island neighborhood; little traffic or noise! You can walk down the street to the neighborhood beach or jump in your car for a 5 minute drive to Narragansett town beach, Scarbourgh state beach or Galilee.
  • Such a great place to stay! Really adorable place, amazing location (we stayed in winter, I can't imagine how great it would be to stay on that lake in the summer). I'm a very clean/particular person and I was super comfortable and at home in Lynn's cottage. One thing that we had to figure out is that if you leave the bedroom doors closed during the day, they don't heat up and can be very cold at night, so leave those doors open! We were very happy with our stay and would absolutely stay there again, thanks Lynn!

My space is the entire second floor which includes a large bedroom with queen size bed and tv. You have your own thermostat and window air conditioner in the summer. My house is approximately 10 minutes from the beach and within walking distance to several local restaurants and small shops. I'm about 1/2 mile from the bike path also.
  • Linda was a great host! Communication about check in/check out and us coming and going was seamless and convenient, and the space was exactly what we needed. Would definitely stay again!

  • Linda's place is perfect to stay at especially if you are on your way to or from Block Island. It is a cozy upstairs room with the most comfortable bed ever. The bathroom is shared but was not an issue. She even had a basket with snacks and water bottles waiting for us! Definitely recommend :)

    Emily2017-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • Linda was a great host! She was incredibly hospitable, accommodating, friendly, and flexible. Her place was conveniently located to the beaches and the ferry terminal to Block Island. Her house was clean, had everything we needed, and super cozy with a beautiful sunroom. The bed was super comfy too. Linda and her adorable dog made our vacation extra enjoyable! All in all, we highly recommend her place and will definitely stay again if we go back to the Narragansett area in the future!

  • We went there for conference/vocation. This place is clean and convenient for us. Check in and check out was easy. Linda is nice and is very knowledgeable of the area. She even offered a ride for me when there is a conflict schedule between my husband and I, although later we did not need it.

    X. Cindy2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Linda was great! The place was super convenient for me because my friends lived very close, and it's just a minute or two around the corner from this area with lots of shops and restaurants. The house was super quiet and the room was spacious. She is finishing some renovations in the area outside the bedroom but the room itself was very nice, the house was clean, and the bed was really comfortable. If you need a great value in this area you should look no further. Thanks again Linda!

Charming, bright and beachy this waterfront cottage will become your favorite little getaway. Decorated with bright colors and cozy furnishings four can easily spend quality time hanging in or out. Wake up in the morning with a cold but refeshing swim off the dock, bike to East Matunuck beach, grab your fishing pole and catch dinner or walk to the famous Matunuck Oyster bar for a fabulous farm to table meal. Village at Potter Pond is a quiet small community of cottages by the water.
The cottage sits right next to the dock on the water across from the Matunuck Oyster Bar. We have many beaches and great places to enjoy the water within biking and walking distance or a short drive. Clamming, fishing, boating, SUPing and surfing are practically right at your doorstep. The sunsets are stunning and there are two resturants just a minutes walk away. It is a very special and unique spot.
  • We enjoyed our stay and found it to be exactly what we wanted for a few nights near the beach!
