Places to stay in Central Lake
This 1904 home has been loved by our family for more than 40 years. It's decorated with a fun mixture of farmhouse, vintage, and whimsical artistry to welcome guests. The upstairs is open and spacious with a tricky old staircase! The downstairs has a full kitchen, living area has a cozy electric fireplace, and the bathroom is sparkling brand new. With the exception of marble tile in the bathroom and vintage flooring in the kitchen, there are original wood floors throughout the home.
This turn of the century home will take you back in time...when there was no internet! In place of WiFi, we offer a Victrola record player and collection of vinyls for you to experience and a tv with local channels...or you can enjoy your own tunes on the Bluetooth option on the "modern" Victrola. Our "off the grid" location invites you to kick back on the front porch, back porch or large yard and just enjoy each other's company. Our village population is less than 1,000, so our streets are quiet for strolling, biking, or running. Within walking distance, is Intermediate Lake with docks for fishing, a park for play, small town shopping and dining. Lake Michigan, Torch Lake, Glacial Hills Nature Trails, Breweries, Distilleries, Wineries, ski resorts and snowmobile trails are all within 10 miles. Check out the bulletin board in the kitchen for local events scheduled during your stay that might interest you, and a list of where to find amenities you may need during your stay. And yes....the little shoe on display in the living room with the soul worn through, was found within the upstairs walls when the lathe and plaster was removed for remodel. Makes you wonder how many little pairs of feet wore that shoe and reminds us of how fortunate we are today!
Central Lake is a quiet little town with a population of approximately 950. We have no traffic lights and we're surrounded by a chain of lakes, forest, orchards, and farms. Several children live in the neighborhood and the elementary school is right across the street. We're minutes from boat launches on Intermediate and Torch Lake...both of which have sandbars to anchor and play. Also minutes from Lake Michigan beaches and several wooded trails to explore.

The Flying Fish is a family friendly, fully equipped 4 bedroom, 2 bath home on the hidden gem, all sports, Intermediate Lake. Bring your clothes and start the relaxation! Dock your boat at the house and access the entire Upper Chain of lakes or head to nearby Schuss/Shanty or Boyne Mountains for winter fun! Tons to do both inside & out all year long. Plenty of nearby fun and central up north location is ideal for day excursions as well! My place is good for families (with kids) and big groups.
We have thought of everything. In the summer, bring your boat and dock it right at the house or rent a boat down the street and dock it at the house. We also provide kayaks and 2 stand-up paddle boards (1 kid sized) to enjoy the lake, beach toys, yard games, and fire pit outside. In the winter or on rainy days, there is plenty of indoor fun included too! Foosball table and a whole closet of board games and puzzles. Video games galore (wii, Game Cube, PS3 and XBox 360), cable TV, Netflix, Amazon Firestick, and wifi. Fully stocked kitchen, new pots and pans and even some gourmet items including Kitchen Aid mixer, blenders, etc. If we don't have something you would like, please let us know. We are continually trying to improve the home and the amenities! Located within walking distance to grocery, restaurants, bar, and boat rental. Explore the Upper Chain of Lakes from the front yard or travel down the street for Torch Lake and the entire Lower Chain of Lakes. Central Lake is located approximately 30 minutes from Charlevoix and 45 minutes from Traverse City and Petoskey. A week at the Flying Fish offers plenty of relaxation and fun at the beach and on the lake, as well as a chance to explore all that northern Michigan has to offer. Spend a long weekend in the fall for great color tours, apple picking (King Orchards has what seems like miles of Honey Crisp trees!), or touring local vineyards. In the winter, we are located 15 minutes from Shanty Creek and 1/2 an hour from Schuss Mountain and Boyne Mountain! Plenty of cross-country, hiking, and mountain bike trails nearby as well. Mammoth Distilling is within walking distance (mention the Flying Fish for a discount!), Torch Lake Cellars, Shorts Brewery, Bee Well Meadery, and Hello Vino wine bar are each about 15 minutes away and all are fabulous places to spend a couple hours! There is also a new Torch Lake Tour of local wineries, distilleries, breweries, and meaderies with transportation available (http://www.torchlaketour.com/). Discount available for small groups using fewer beds/linens.
The Flying Fish is within walking distance to a park with playground and the town of Central Lake. Central Lake is home to several restaurants, a corner store, grocery store, several shops, and a boat and bike rental. Mammoth Distilling recently opened a tasting room right in Central Lake and has a great atmosphere, friendly owners, and great drinks (mention The Flying Fish for a discount!). The home is approximately 10 minutes from Bellaire, home to Shorts Brewery, Bee Well Meadery, Hello Vino wine bar, several other stores and Shanty Creek Resort. Torch Lake Cellars, a local winery and cider brewery, is also about 15 minutes from the home and Cellar 1914, part of Shooks Farm, just opened summer 2019 right down the street. Elk Rapids, Boyne City and several other quaint northern Michigan towns are nearby. Traverse City and Petoskey are each a 45 minute drive and Charlevoix is only 30 minutes away. For a slightly longer drive, you can also explore the Sleeping Bear Dunes and Mackinac Island. There are many local bike, hiking, cross-country ski trails. We are also close to golf in the summer and skiing in the winter!
  • I loved how quiet the neighborhood is and how friendly the host was. I would definitely recommend you to stay here. Great for a nice get away!

  • This was a great place to stay with a lot of room. We were impressed with how clean the place was. Angela is a great host, and promptly answered the questions we had. It’s a nice location to stay at because of its proximity to take day trips to Petosky, Traverse City, Harbor Springs, Sutton’s Bay, Leland , Fishtown,et. Staying here in October for a week was a great spot to enjoy the autumn color in the area.

    Rose2019-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place was everything we needed and wanted it to be and so much more! We had a family wedding and wanted a place where our whole family could stay together for the weekend. We brought the kids, the aunts and even the grandparents! It was perfect to hang by the beach and everyone loved gathering at the house. Angela was more than accommodating with all of our needs and responded super fast. She’s great. Great view and super relaxing.

    Jennifer2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • The house is well appointed. If you like to cook, what you need is here. The TV's had that extra sound that helps with a crowd. The steam shower was great. In warmer weather I believe the swimming would be fun. It's a nice sandy bottom and shallow for little kids. Overall a wonderful time had by all.

    Dennis2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • This place is wonderful starting with the prompt and great communication with Angela, the host. The space is beautiful and inviting with lots of cozy spaces indoor and out to relax and enjoy the lake view. The lower level can almost serve as a separate house with its own entrance, kitchen and living area - was great for our teenagers to have space away from us. They loved digging out old video games from the game closet on rainy days (wii, guitar hero). The property is beautiful with a wonderful private sandy beach and well stocked with beach chairs, kayaks, paddle boards and yard games. We loved our stay here and didn’t want to leave.

    Lori2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Our family enjoyed our stay. The house is very spacious, plenty of beds. There were lots of raining day activities also, such as games and movies. The lake was nice and we felt we had our own private beach and dock. The location is convenient for a quick drive to Traverse City or Charlevoix. The host was very welcoming and great with communication. Our family made wonderful memories during our trip and highly recommend.

  • The location was great! A short drive to Bellaire without having to pay the high price of staying in Bellaire! The restaurant and bar at the Blue Pelican are great! The food was really good and we loved the outside tiki bar. We will definitely be staying here again next time we come to Bellaire!

    Jenni2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • A lovey and affordable option with access to the Petosky and Boyne areas. Recommend

    Linda2019-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great accommodations in a beautiful location. Very comfortable & quiet. We will definitely be back! Thanks for the hospitality!

  • Would recommend!

    Jéh2018-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • I was expecting a private home. Surprised that was an inn. However the sleeping room was fine. The bathroom was huge. Having the adjacent common area was great. Everything was spotless. I will recommend it to others and will stay there again if in the area.

    Charlie2018-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • My stay in the Sunshine Room at the Blue Pelican was very pleasant - clean, comfortable and very quiet. The bathroom was huge and light! There was no eating allowed in the rooms, but a common room at the end of the hall offered a place to sit and have complementary snacks and coffee. Board games and TV were also there as well as the opportunity to visit with fellow guests. A safe, clean, comfortable room with basic amenities = a good night’s sleep 😴

  • Ryan’s home is clean, cozy, and quiet! It’s a perfect getaway from the city or a nice stop on your way further north. His hospitality is amazing and his tips on local cuisine were useful! You can expect privacy and great care from Ryan’s home! A definite place to come back to!

    Maureen2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Ryan’s place is great for those looking for an up-north escape. We stayed two nights while skiing at boyne mountain and thought the place was perfect if you don’t mind a little bit of a drive. Ryan was a great host, he even messaged to check what kind of car we had to make sure we would easily be able to get up the driveway. He had extra sheets and towels for us, and additional toiletries Incase we forgot something. We didn’t use the kitchen but it seemed to have a lot of amenities in it as well. The bed was comfortable and the light from the windows was nice in the morning, but he also had blackout curtains if you would rather not be woken up by the sunlight. The room was very spacious! More than enough space for two of us. Huge thanks to Ryan!

    Skylar2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Really great spot to crash for the value. A nice BIG bed in a very large room with a big screen TV. One great thoughtful touch was placing a fan on the night stand. I usually have to bring my own fan to block out noise in order to sleep. I forgot mine on this trip and wouldn't have gotten a good night sleep without that. Thanks Ryan!

    Cassidy2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Ryan’s hospitality makes staying at his home feel like you’re there visiting an old friend.  He’s fast to respond to any questions on-line, and in person makes you feel as a welcomed guest in his home.  The house is easy to find, located in a beautiful area of northern Michigan, and laid out and decorated in a manner that allows you to take a deep breath and just relax.  My son and I enjoyed our time there. We appreciated Ryan’s suggestions on restaurants and sights to see, and enjoyed our conversations with him.

    Rick2019-12-19T00:00:00Z
  • A nice place to stay. Very clean and warm.

    Kelly2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved the place. It is very close to Torch Lake, maintained Beautifully by Ryan. Will recommend this place for sure.

    Nitish2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Ryan’s home is definitely a treat! 100% recommended. Ryan helped carry our luggage to our room and was very friendly. He made us feel welcome with our puppy and gave us great tips for local eats. Our room was very welcoming with huge windows and a great view. We are so thankful we were able to stay here and it met all our needs. This space is perfectly located close enough to Traverse City and Elk Rapids. We would definitely visit again. Thanks, Ryan!

This is the perfect Northern Michigan hideaway no matter the season! The Maple View House sits high on a knoll surrounded by lush forest and expansive views of the countryside and beautiful Torch Lake. Escape the hustle and bustle in this secluded spot while still being close to all the fun in the area. Whether you're looking for a quiet weekend reading, or a comfortable place to crash while you spend your days on the go, the Maple View House is going to please. Perfect for dog owners!
The space is comfortable, warm and welcoming, yet simple. You'll get that 'at home' feel that a hotel or condo just can't offer. The natural setting of The Maple View House makes it exceptionally peaceful and unique. Large growth trees surround the house keeping it cool, yet the sloping hills mean you have wonderful views and a breeze. Spend a warm summer night eating dinner and lounging on the deck and then move to the yard for a bon fire as the sun goes down. The quiet maple forest surrounding the home and the long driveway is a perfect spot for you and your dog to walk. No close neighbors. We provide dog dishes and a doggie bed for Fido. There is an abundance of activities to draw people to Northern Michigan: - The Lakes! Torch Lake, Lake Michigan, Intermediate Lake - all within minutes. Dozens of public access for swimming, beaching or launching a boat. - Biking: Glacial Hills for mountain biking is nearby and if road biking is your thing, the house is off of East Torch Lake Drive a favorite for road bikers. - Wine tasting: There are several wineries within 30 minutes and even more on Old Mission and Leelanau Peninsulas - Picking Cherries! Northern Michigan is the Cherry Capital - lots of agri-tourism and fresh produce to be found - Golf: World class courses in every direction Winter Specifically: The Maple View House is a cozy and quite winter getaway. Get the wood stove going and curl up with a good book. The woods and views are amazing in the winter, you can see nearly 180* of lakes in the distance when there aren't leaves on the trees. Please note that you will need four wheel drive if there is snow on the ground. We will keep the driveway plows but there are steep spots that will require 4wd. - Downhill and Nordic Skiing at many resorts - Shanty Creek (30 minutes), Boyne Mountain (40 minutes), Nub's Nob (1 hr+), Boyne Highlands (1 hr+), Crystal Mountain (1 hr 20 min). - Tubing at Shanty Creek Resorts - Avalanche Bay Water Park at Boyne Mountain - The remote roads and woods around the house are great spots for snowshoeing
Torch Lake's clear turquoise waters are world renowned and the beauty of Northern Michigan is equally as stunning. The Maple View House is just a half mile off of Torch Lake and a 3 minute drive to the famous Brownwood Acres (make sure to get there early on Sunday morning before the line for the hot donuts gets too long). There are small towns and attractions in every direction: - Central Lake: 5 minutes - a cute, but small town. - Bellaire: 15 minutes - home of Short's Brewery! - Charlevoix: 25 minutes - restaurants, ice cream - Traverse City: 45 Minutes - lots of restaurants, breweries, activities galore. - Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes: 1.5 Hours
  • We spent New Year's Eve at Juliette's place and it was a magical getaway. The wood stove made for cozy relaxation. We did a puzzle, read, and made lots of food. Since it is a bit of a drive in wintery conditions, we brought a few of our meals and were so happy to be tucked away with incredible views. We did adventure out one day and hit up Shorts and Shanty Creek for tubing. It was a great location for all of that! The house itself has been updated and has charming touches. Juliette was quick to respond to questions and was very kind! We've already talked about coming back in the summer to take advantage of the closeness to torch lake!

    Mackenzie2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Perched on a hill, overlooking soft rolling hills, and a view of Torch Lake, it felt more like an English countryside cottage, than a cabin near a lake. Stylish and thoughtfully prepared, the home is warm and inviting. Our puppy just loved wandering in the woods, while we watched wild turkeys waddle on by. Snow covered picture-postcard memories, sledding and relaxing evenings. We hope to gladly return some day.

    Kevin2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • A peaceful retreat in the woods. We slept, cozied up by the fire, hiked, and enjoyed seeing deer and bald eagles. Juliette was a very accommodating host, especially as a winter storm approached! Can't wait to go back!

    Janice2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Place had a secluded view and beautiful scenery. Very clean and Juliette was quick to respond. Enjoyed our stay

    Natalie2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • It was the perfect location for our weekend to view fall colors and to visit the nearby town of Charlevoix. The property is beautiful —up on a hill and surrounded by trees. There is also the ability to have a bonfire on cool nights! The home was perfect for our family and dog. We loved our quiet walks among the beautiful fall foliage. Loved the deck off the living room with a beautiful view while enjoying a cup of morning coffee! This is the perfect place to retreat to nature in Northern Michigan and enjoy nearby towns. Juliette was a wonderful and attentive host. Loved our stay and hope to be back someday!

    Cheryl2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Stylish place and in the woods! Two of my favorite things! Juliette was responsive and helpful. Great place!

    Rebecca2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • This adorable little house is set in a beautiful spot. Very comfortable with great touches. The beds and bedding were clean and comfortable. Spacious bathroom. A great mix of rustic and modern. Would highly recommend.

    Shannon2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • This was exactly what we were looking for. Very peaceful with no obvious signs of neighbors. The pup enjoyed walking in the woods and we made a nice bonfire in the yard. The house was clean and equipped with everything we needed. A perfect weekend away from it all.

With cathedral ceilings, a 65” wifi-enabled HDTV to watch your favorite sports and movies, and plenty of comfortable seating on two couches, two arm chairs, and several director’s chairs that can be moved around as needed, your family and friends will have plenty of space to enjoy a memorable and relaxing vacation. At the end of 2017 we painted and updated the furnishings in the living room and both bedrooms to give the cottage a fresh look. The garage has room for one vehicle and the driveway can hold up to 3 more vehicles or 2 vehicles plus your boat trailer. We have worked hard to create a home that is welcoming and comfortable for our guests, and we hope you’ll love the memories you make staying at the Cottage on Clam Lake as much as we do.
10 minute drive from beautiful downtown Bellaire! Walking distance to Dockside located on the blue waters of Torch Lake!
  • We absolutely loved the cottage on Clam lake! It’s a great central location for a lot of fun Northern Michigan activities and the cottage and lake are beautiful. David and Natalie are excellent hosts and very easy to contact. We will certainly be back!!

Heated full bathroom in the heated garage made it easy for everyone to get ready. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Communication with host was great!!!

Slow down "up north" at our charming landmark home in East Jordan, located halfway between Charlevoix and Boyne City. Walking distance to downtown EJ and Lake Charlevoix, and just 15 minutes from Boyne Mountain. Our home comfortably sleeps 11+ people, with 5 bedrooms, 2 living rooms, 1 bathroom, stocked kitchen, laundry, WiFi and covered parking. Our home is dog friendly, and consistently rated sparkling clean. Petoskey, Mackinac and Traverse City are within an hour.
This classic "Main Street" home dates back to the lumber era, with tons of historic character and familial charm. The house is great for a small crowd of vacationers and skiers, and cozy enough for a couple's getaway. It's been in our family for decades and we stay here often so it is well maintained, and professionally cleaned and sanitized after each stay. Our home was recently updated with fresh paint, flooring and all new linens. House is equipped for small and multi-family stays, and includes most of the comforts of home: linens and towels, WiFi internet, dishes/cooking supplies, coffee and tea, washer/dryer, and a Roku for streaming television. Home is not air conditioned, but we do have window fans. Outside: Large corner lot with ample parking space for 4 vehicles plus covered parking for up to two vehicles or your outdoor toys! Living Room 1 - Spacious with tall ceilings and a comfy seating for watching movies and napping. TV includes Roku for logging in to your own streaming services or we have an assortment of DVDs for all ages. No cable TV. Sitting Room - Play a game of checkers, chess or cards at the checkerboard table or choose from a selection of board games and puzzles for all ages. An exterior door opens to the corner porch with seating, which is awesome in the summertime! - Main Floor - Bedroom 1 - Corner bedroom downstairs has queen bed for 2, and 1 closet for your use. Originally a front sitting parlor, room is airy and opens up to corner porch. Room is closed off by curtains (no door) from the sitting room for privacy. Bedroom 2 - The "middle bedroom" has a double bed and closet with access to bathroom and a semi-private screened porch. Windows open for a breeze. Bathroom - We have 1 full bathroom in the home with the original clawfoot tub that includes a shower. The bathroom is located off the kitchen and connects to the middle bedroom. There's an additional sink & vanity and shower located in the laundry room for convenience. Kitchen - Large and airy. Kitchen includes modern appliances, a Keurig coffee maker with coffee pods, dishes, pots/pans, silverware and basic cooking utensils. No dishwasher. Laundry room - Located off the kitchen, includes washer and dryer, and a shower and sink for additional bathing area - no toilet. Iron and ironing board provided. Curtain provides privacy from kitchen. Upstairs - Three bedrooms. Bedroom 1 is at the top of the stairs and has 1 single bed. Bedroom 2 is the bunk room which sleeps 4. Bedroom 3 has two twin beds. All bedding/linens is provided. Quirks - "This old house" has original wood floors and a staircase that are sometimes creaky. The bathroom is in the center of the home and is a passageway from kitchen to middle bedroom - it is the only toilet in the home and includes the original clawfoot tub that has been converted to include a shower. The house can get drafty in the winter and occasionally warm in the summer, but we have fans throughout the house and most windows have been replaced to open up for a breeze. Bonus - all main floor rooms have an exterior door leading out to a porch!
Home is an East Jordan landmark, located on a well-traveled corner in a residential area, just a stone's throw from Lake Charlevoix and walkable to downtown.
  • We had a perfect little getaway, very homie and clean. They had everything you can think of and did not miss anything. My kids had a great time snowboarding at near by Boyne and my furry kids were so happy they could join us. Would definitely recommend this place. There was a short walk to town for Mexican food and the Bowling ally had great pizza.

    Sandy2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place was perfect for our weekend snowboarding at Boyne Mountain. We fit 8 ppl comfortably with room for more. Would recommend this place to anyone who is snowboarding/snowmobiling/golfing in the area!

    Billy2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Elizabeth's place was the perfect house for our ski weekend! It accommodated our family along with the family dogs. I'm always grateful when people allow us to bring the dogs, it makes family trips much more fun.

    Alexis2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Have you ever found a place you were afraid to review because you want to keep it your secret place? This house is over of those. A definite favorite. Plenty of space. Clean comfortable beds (9)! Perfect proximity to Boyne Mountain without the crazy expense of staying at the slopes. Loved it and can't wait to go back. AAA+++

    Mike2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Elizabeth’s place was perfect for our family ski trip! We loved the character and charm of the house. We’ll definitely be back!

    Ashley2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Our family came for a ski trip to Boyne which was about 15 minutes away from the house and downtown East Jordan was just 1/2 mile down the road from the house. Elizabeth (the owner) had the house filled with the little things that meant the most: cleaning supplies, napkins, toilet paper, abundance of towels, dish soap and towels, coffee and hot chocolate. I have stayed at many places through these type of sites for work and play and never found one that allowed you so many supplies for daily cleaning to take care of their home. We visited in winter and she had plenty of extra blankets and pillows as well as throws for lounging on the couch, if we needed them. I thought having only one bathroom would be a problem with our group of adults, teens and kids but the extra shower in the laundry room was the perfect way to separate the toilet area and bath tub area from the showering area with an extra sink. Looking forward to returning next year, thanks Elizabeth!

    Tania2020-01-02T00:00:00Z

Conveniently located between Traverse City and Petoskey, it's the perfect base for exploring lighthouses, wineries, breweries, and so much more. The property is great for stargazing, long walks, and loads of other outdoors activities. Our room, "The Ark" was large and comfortable, with easy access to the shared bathroom. • We (2 families) rented this home for two nights. There was plenty of space for kids to run around outside. Plenty of room for everyone to sleep. It was very close to Lake Bellaire and Torch Lake. It was close to restaurants, but we also enjoyed grilling at home. The host was very accessible and accommodating when I had questions. Wonderful stay - we would definitely recommend this to friends and family.

  • What a pleasant, pleasant surprise! Such a wonderful couple! Melissa is a natural at this, from the wonderful breakfasts, coffee that she grinds herself, homemade granola and breads that were delicious! Not mention the spotless room and comfortable linens... When I left, Melissa gave me a pack of tissues that said “Joy” on them to wipe my tears, as I had to leave my elderly Dad in town. This place is highly recommended!!

Apple Orchard sits on 5 acres of very private land on East Torch Lake Drive. It is in a rustic setting with very natural landscaping. There is no water frontage to Torch, but it is very close by. It has a lovely covered deck area and a huge new firepit area. It is a cottage, and has its imperfections, but comfortable to spend a peaceful weekend! The master bedroom is huge!
  • Expect a clean, well maintained, and well organized stay. Kara is a great communicator and takes time to help make your stay the best it can be. The cabin is tranquil and peaceful. Amy2018-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very cute and clean cottage, perfect for six adults. My only regret is that we didn’t plan for a longer trip. Very helpful booklet with house rules, and local good stuff like where to eat, shop and attractions. Definitely recommend!

    Stacy2018-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Pat & Michael did everything they could to make sure our stay was a pleasant one. They even left us some Amish made baked goods which were delicious. Would definitely recommend a stay in their little cabin!

  • Pat's home is located in a very peaceful spot and a rare find with 3 bedrooms. It was spotless and had everything you could need for a stay near the water. The special bread she left for us and a very handy list of local businesses were very appreciated. She made our visit easy and each of us enjoyed ourselves immensely!

    Anne2018-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Pat was a wonderful host and the cottage was beautiful and clean. It was very close to many locations and fit all six of us comfortably.

    Emma2018-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • A very quiet neighborhood, close to the lake. The home was very clean and Pat and Mike were great hosts. Highly recommend this place.

    Sushant2018-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • Pat was an amazing host! Very easy to communicate with up to our arrival. The cottage was just what we needed and comfortably slept 6 adults. We have already talked about coming back.

    Cody2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Pat was the perfect host, answering every question we had prior to our stay. She met us at the house and showed us around the home and property. The home was quite simple but met most of our expectations. The only thing I would recommend is at least one queen bed in one of the bedrooms. My wife and I had trouble sleeping together in a double bed. The chain of lakes is gorgeous! Fishing was by far the best on Benway Lake as we managed to catch dinner one day! We will definitely be coming back next summer!

The restoration and preservation of this unique Airbnb is finished. One of the oldest surviving structures in the area. It was a “Tin Shop & Stoves” store in the late 1800’s since then it has been a General Store and private residence. It is now a very unique Airbnb cottage where you can stay with all the comforts of a “couple’s retreat” along with a candy shop/store just for guests to experience the nostalgia of interacting with a historic General Store.

  • This is a beautiful one bedroom rental! Very historic and centrally located. Views of the lake and walking distance to the Main Street. The bed is very comfortable. There is both shower and tub options. There was shampoo/conditioner and hair dryer provided...so helpful to pack less! The general store is adorable and fun too see. Decorations are perfect! You will love this beautifully restored historical gem of East Jordan! What is even more fun for me is that my grandmother hung out when this was a general store in her teens with Julia Gunther! Such a perfect place ❤️❤️❤️

  • This place was fantastic. There was plenty of room for everyone to sleep. The view of the big backyard and the lake was phenomenal. We also rented the pontoon boat for the weekend which was also very nice and allowed for tooling around on the lake to check out the surrounds. I would definitely rent this place again!

  • The hosts were amazing, any issue we had was immediately worked out. We had an issue with the cable box and they sent a technician the next day. The cabin is truly amazing, clean, and comfortable; it has everything you need from a hot tub, toiletries, and even extra snow equipment Incase you forgot something. I’d Recommend to anybody who’s looking for a spacious and clean stay with wonderful hosts. A+ experience.

  • This place is perfect for large groups! Plenty of space, clean, beautiful views and so many awesome amenities! Owner was always in touch and easy to communicate with. Highly recommend this place! We'll be back for another visit for sure!

    Jennifer2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Stunning home, tons of amenities and space! Too many great amenities to list! We loved Mark's place and everything it had to offer. The hot tub, bar area, and kitchen were where we spent most of our time. We even made a nice meal for the group and everything we needed (and more) was in the kitchen. There was a convection oven in the bar which was great for snacks. Alexa devices in bedrooms and common spaces. Spectacular master suite and bathroom! There is a coffee maker, a Keurig, and an espresso machine. Two things to note: the driveway is steep, but we had no problem with all wheel drive vehicles and it was a little snowy that day; and the 5th bedroom is only accessible through the master suite, which was not an issue for us. They provide a home manual which made figuring out how to use everything much easier. Hope to stay in this fabulous place again! Thank you Mark!!

    Nicole2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • This place is perfect for a large group and walking in is breathtaking. The house is beautiful and clean and open. There’s also more than 1 common area which are both spectacular. Me and my group barely left the house. This made the perfect up north weekend getaway and I would love to come back

    Krissy2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • The house was very clean! This is always appreciated. The kitchen was fully stocked, we had everything we needed and more. The amenities through out the home were more than expected and we would definitely stay here again. It was very comfortable for our group, beautiful setting, and would recommend to others. Our group comprised of 5 couples versus a family. The 5th bedroom is only accessible through the master bedroom - so that is something that you just need to be aware of if you aren't with your family. But we made it work and again, would definitely stay here again.

    Heather2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Home was beautiful, clean, organized, and had everything we needed to have an awesome time! Mark was very helpful and courteous from check in/out to any questions we had throughout the stay. Highly recommend.

  • We enjoyed every bit of our weekend getaway! It was the perfect place to take in the surrounding beauty. We loved having our coffee overlooking the gorgeous lake! We did some wine tasting and found some good local produce. We had everything we could possibly need. All in all it made for the perfect weekend. Cant wait to come back during the summer to be able to enjoy the beach.

    Alex2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely views!

    Kate2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great house, great amenities, great view. Don't count on using the beach across the street, especially with little kids. It's very small and too rocky. Be prepared for the early checkout. The expansive deck, grill, and well stocked kitchen is very helpful! We'd stay again even knowing what we know now and be better prepared. The kids loved fruit picking at King's and Dingers rock shop.

  • Our family really enjoyed the location of this property. You can see Torch Lake from the back deck and my wife and I enjoyed the sunsets at night. We had dinner at the Torch cafe which was spectacular. Also the Winery's were alot of fun that were close by this property.

  • While this home is right off the road, it’s tucked in the woods and very quiet. The beds and pillows were surprisingly comfortable. We always bring our own pillows but they stayed in the truck. Centrally located its a short drive to anything you may need. We were very satisfied with our stay.

  • Alyssa's place is walking distance to a private beach on Torch. It's also a 5 minute drive to the downtown area where there's a store, and less than 5 minutes to Dockside beach. If you're looking to spend a weekend at Torch Lake, this is the place. We rented a boat from Northaire Resort Pontoon rental 5 minutes away on Clam River and picked up our friends at the private beach across from Alyssas, which was pretty cool! Overall, I'd stay here again. Thanks Alyssa!

  • Property was extremely easy to access! Host was very quick to respond to any questions I had and was really nice! Cottage can hold a lot of people, as I had a few friends stop up for a day, they loved it! There is 2 kitchen areas which is nice... a spot to do laundry if needed.... nice little fire pit area... and access to torch lake is a 5 min walk.... thanks again!

  • This is a very spacious house with lots of room for a large group. The location is close to the marina at Clam River which is very convenient. The house is also 1/4 mile from a public beach, but you need to either drive to it or walk down a busy two-lane highway for that distance. For some reason I thought it was a short and straight walk down to the beach, but it was more than that.

  • The farmhouse is the perfect place for a family gathering with all the comforts of home. It is spotlessly clean and has a well-equipped kitchen and laundry room. The beds are the most comfortable of any place we’ve stayed, and all seven adults agree with this assessment! The hosts are very prompt in answering questions, and the check-in and check-out procedures are clear, helpful, and easy to adhere to.

  • The Bellaire Farmhouse is absolute perfection for an up north weekend with friends and family. It's close to the downtown area, Shanty Creek resort and many other activities but the most fun my kids had was just playing around the property. Which we found out after renting the skiis and scheduling the lessons but that's another story :) Billy & Aubrey are wonderful, responsive hosts and we felt welcome from the second we walked in the door. Highly recommend these accommodations - we'll be making it a yearly winter tradition!

    Leah2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The house was lovely! We were there to celebrate my cousins birthday. There were nine of us and plenty of room left over. We had a blast with the kids sledding, going into town to explore, and just relaxing playing games, watching movies, etc. Would definitely go back! The house has everything you need!

    Valerie2020-01-05T00:00:00Z

We have a different approach to offering our home to guests on Air BNB in that we limit the amount of rentals per year. We are not looking to become super hosts but yet to provide a quality experience to our guests. A perfect location on the South Arm of Lake Charlevoix. Enjoy warm summers, crisp & colorful falls or get on a trailhead for some of the best snowmobiling in Northern MI. Memorial-Labor Day is a min 7 nights Saturday to Saturday or longer stays are available up to 30 days.
Wonderful sunrises over Lake Charlevoix and evenings cooling in the shade overlooking the Lake on comfy new outdoor furniture or wait till dark and enjoy the fire pit to make s’mores and relax.
Laid back northern MI location convenient to so many adorable towns close by.
  • Home is beautiful with a great sitting area on deck overlooking the lake. It is set up like two complete units which worked perfectly for our family (2xbedrooms, kitchen, bath, living and eating areas on upstairs and downstairs). The beach area is shared between two houses but the owners were very kind during our stay. Busy road in front is a little noisy but not too bad. Elyse was "rapid fire fast" in her responses to our questions which was very helpful! This is an excellent home and we would definitely stay there again!

The road noise in front of the house is a bit loud but the location is great for going to Boyne City and Charlevoix etc. we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The host is very quick to reply to any questions! Enjoy!

  • Stephanie’s cottage was perfect for our ski trip to Shanty. It was much bigger and cleaner than any of the cabins in the Shanty village that we have rented in the past. Well worth the short drive to Clam Lake! We will definitely return in years to come ! Thank you Stephanie for your hospitality!!

  • We loved staying at this Clam Lake home and would fully recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet, peaceful retreat right on the water. It's all about the view... The home itself is 'open concept' with two bedrooms and two full bathrooms and is exactly as shown in the Airbnb listing. We were two couples, so the space really was perfect for us. Everything was clean, comfortable, and just great. Every room has a full-on lake view, so no matter where we were, we could appreciate the beautiful location. We loved sitting on the sofa and just watching the lake and the wildlife and also enjoyed eating at the large dining table. The open space is perfect for just being together. Outside, there's a large wrap-around porch at the back of the house and stairs that lead down to the lake; there's a two-seater wooden bench at the end of the dock that was perfect for morning coffee and enjoying the view. Since it was a chilly fall weekend, we didn't use the barbecue or outdoor patio furniture, but we could imagine how nice that would be in the warmer weather. Although we didn't meet them, Stephanie and Victoria were great hosts; communication was clear and our text messages were answered immediately. The house is locked with a touch-pad, so we had full privacy and could check-in and check-out with ease. We would absolutely recommend this home to anyone at all and have already spoken about coming back another time. Thanks, Stephanie and Victoria!

Summer 2020 is weekly rentals on Saturdays. The house sits on a point that provides panoramic views of Lake Michigan to the north and Grand Traverse Bay to the south. It is located just north of the village of Eastport which is at the northern tip of Torch Lake. You can walk the beach forever. This "like new" lake house provides all of the "must haves": - Wifi and cable - Main floor washer and dryer - Modern kitchen with all of the amenities - Central air conditioning - Real log fireplace
A private sandy area with fire pit is located near the house. A large deck and covered porch overlook the lake. Enjoy a fire during the cool nights in the lakeside fire pit or the dramatic two story fireplace. Stunning sunsets, sandy beach, surrounded by trees! Enjoy the natural beauty of Lake Michigan. You can walk the beach forever - something you can't do on inland lakes. Grand Traverse Bay water frontage is constantly changing and advertising photos will not necessarily depict the beach and water as it might be during the rental period. Higher water levels reduce and could potentially eliminate beach area. The beach has pebbles and sand with a bottom of smooth rocks (aqua shoes are recommended). There are two stand up paddleboards and two tandem kayaks that can be used to enjoy the bay. There are four bikes. The home is 'like new' with 2,500' square feet of living space. There are three bedrooms and a 'dormitory' plus sleeper sofa. There are two full bathrooms with tub/showers which are both accessible without entering a bedroom. The kitchen is a chef's dream. There is over 20' of counter space, a high end induction stove and top of the line cookware. The appliances are stainless steel. A gorgeous quartz countertop island with double bowl sink provides a dramatic lake view. The icemaker allows ice to be moved right to your cooler. A washer and dryer is provided on the main floor for convenience. All the modern conveniences are provided including high speed internet and cable TV (cable TV may not be available in the off season). There are several HD and Ultra HD TVs with ultra HD Nexflix streaming. To keep you cool there are seven ceiling fans and central air conditioning. The bay is shallow which makes it great for young children. The master bedroom is a large loft area and the only room upstairs. It overlooks the family room and dining area (and the lake). It has a private reading area. The master bath offers a relaxing whirlpool tub. The second bedroom and den/bedroom are on the main floor. Dormitory sleeping is provided on the lower level in the 'rec room'. There is plenty of parking including space for a boat trailer. There is a boat launch 5 minutes away.
The 'double' lot offers 200 feet of private shoreline and access to miles of beach to walk and enjoy. There is a small grocery store with a great deli (and delicious summer BBQ) only 5 minutes away. Fine dining is available at the nearby Rowe Inn - one of Michigan's most acclaimed restaurants.
  • Stop your search and book this place! A-MAZING! Everyone back home keeps seeing pictures and asking where we stayed. The view is unbeatable. The house is bigger and better in person. The kitchen is stocked with anything you could ever need. We cooked often. The smore ingredients were a cute and tasty welcome gift. The beds were comfortable and the house/grounds were clean and well kept. The kayaks, paddle boards, sand toys etc etc make the trip even that much better. The "neighborhood" is very quiet and peaceful. There is a small grocery store within 5-10mins that has anything you may want/ need for food and drinks and various other items. Great location for visiting other areas as well, we went to Traverse City and Charlevoix and enjoyed the afternoon. The restaurant "Dockside" is also a must, great food and awesome view of the lake and incoming boats. We are already planning our next trip to come back. Shelly was such a sweet woman and her dog sophie is pretty cute too, she was very quick to answer any questions and gave us great suggestions.

  • We came up from Grand Rapids to go snowmobiling in the area. We had dinner at the Blue Pelican which was fantastic food. Trisha encouraged us to try the Trivia night in the bar downstairs. Glad we did! Afterward, we walked down the street to the Mammoth Distillery and had a drink. So nice to be able to just walk into town. The room was very clean and the bed perfect! We also enjoyed the common area and met some nice couples also staying at the Inn. Will definitely come back.

  • Trisha is amazing and very kind! There was no power when we first arrived at the Inn and Trisha was going to call the owner to put us in one of his condominiums but the power came back and we had a great overnight stay. Thank you. We loved the room and the community room worked great for us! We will be back!

  • Great find. Definitely off of the beaten path and our booking was somewhat of an accident but it turned out ok. The community space with a tv and couches was great considering we rented 2 rooms so we had a place to hang out with my in laws. The rooms were very clean and almost exactly as expected.

  • I enjoyed my stay. The inn is an easy drive to Short's Brewery where I went to see live music. The room was clean and quiet. There were plenty of snacks and drinks in the common room refrigerator.

  • My wife and I stayed here for a single night in the winter and enjoyed our stay. We arrived too late to catch the Saturday night trivia in the restaurant, where other guests had a chance to have fun with a bunch of residents from the town, but having a common room for breakfast is a good way to have some friendly conversations in the morning. The rooms (and beds) are comfortable. One note: If you're sensitive to light, the front of the inn is illuminated through the night, so you might ask about having a room on the other side of the hallway.

    Daniel2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed here for a night up north. We simply needed a place to sleep and that is all the time we spent at the Blue Pelican Inn. Cut the trip short by one night and the host was flexible on the cancellation which was appreciated. Although close in miles we stayed here to visit Charlevoix and the actual drive felt longer than expected - just a FYI to anyone looking for lodging on a similar trip.

  • Clean, no-frills inn in a sweet sleepy northern Michigan town. Rooms are above a restaurant and bar but it is not a late night scene so no worries about noise.

    Mark2018-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely and quaint inn! Our room was nice and clean and we appreciated the snacks in the kitchenette. Check-in was easy. We arrived after staff had left for the day but Christopher and Merrie made it easy and clear how we could access the building and the room. The location was great between all the lakes in the area. We drove 10 minutes to Bellaire one day for kayaking and Short’s Brewery and it was only a 25 minute drive out to Torch lake. We ate the restaurant downstairs and it was delicious (lucky we came in Hawaiian night)! We saw no ghosts though but hoping to stay again and get another opportunity! 😉
