Come stay with Vinh & Stuart (Awarded one of Australia's top hosts by Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky & key shareholder Ashton Kutcher. We're Sydney's #1 reviewed hosts too). Find out why we've been positively reviewed 500+ times. Please read our listing first (hint hint) We do not accept reservations from people without a verified profile. And please do not make a reservation request before we have exchanged messages. We're keen to chat 1st and make sure we can offer you a "Five Star Stay"
Please say hello and message us *BEFORE* you make your reservation request... It'll help speed things up, and smooth things out... Please read our listing. It will make getting a confirmed reservation so much easier :) See below (hint hint) -- G'Day from Vinh & Stuart in Sydney! Thanks for coming to check out our listing :) We have another btw... http://www.airbnb.com/rooms/73639 if this one is unavailable "Sydney City Home with Harbour Views"; our spare room in the attic. We're pretty relaxed hosts, and as Sydney's #1 hosts we play an active part in the Airbnb community, but we fully appreciate staying with someone else, in their home home, is not for every-one. We get it, our place isn't for everyone. So we won't be offended if you leave this listing (there's plenty of other great Airbnb listings to choose from that don't offer a hosted experience). As we were among the first Airbnb'ers in Australia (travellers + hosts) we've developed quite an extensive profile based on all the guest questions we've answered over the years. Reading through the description to the end (hint hint), and the "House Rules", will mean you'll find all the important information you need to make your Sydney Airbnb stay a fantastic one. Feel free to send us a message with any question you have about us, our home, Pyrmont, Sydney, or Airbnb... We'd love to hear from you! :D This is not a business, or a hotel. We're casual Airbnb hosts, not hoteliers. This is our family home. We live here. You are not be renting an empty apartment. This is not a 'sub-let'. And we do not have a team of porters waiting to take your bags any time of the day or night. Our "check in" / "arrival time" / "bag drop" is all the same thing. Your room: * Private bedroom (with a lockable door) * Queen size bed * All linen, pillows, blankets, towels, etc, provided too * Fully air-conditioned * Wifi Light Breakfast (cereals, fruits, toasts) included: * Breakfasty things and tasty treats * Seasonal Fruits * Bread for toasting * Total access to "the Seinfeld cupboard" * All the Vegemite you can handle * Teas & coffees - We're espresso fiends, please don't blame us if you leave our place fully wired, or addicted to single origin ;p Guest Bathroom (shared): * Shower with instant (full pressure) hot water * Hair-dryer * Towels provided Your Sydney Home: * Amazing views of the Sydney Harbour, White Bay, and Glebe Island * Three level terrace house * Only 2 minutes walk from the centre of Pyrmont * Just minutes walk from everything Sydney offers * Close to the Airport & all public transport * Quiet street * Outdoor deck with seating and water views * Fully air-conditioned * Free wifi throughout the entire house Couple of things you do need to know before you book: --> STEEP STAIRS - Because the house is on three levels, and the stairs are steep, we wouldn't recommend the property for people who like to travel with lots of luggage, people with any mobility issues, or for children. --> TALK WITH US FIRST - Please send us a message & have a chat with us BEFORE you make your reservation request --> THE AVAILABILITY CALENDAR IS ACCURATE - Please only make a reservation request for the exact (and complete) dates that you require. You can use the calendar on our listing to see our availability month by month. If the dates you require are not showing as available on that calendar, it's because we're booked for those dates... Sorry :( --> AGREE ARRIVAL TIMES BEFORE YOU MAKE A RESERVATION REQUEST - Guest arrival time is 6pm. Please see the "Other Things to Note" for more information about arrival times / check in / bag drop details, etc. Message us first about your intended arrival time BEFORE you make a reservation request. --> HAVE A VERIFIED PROFILE - We're much more likely to accept requests from Airbnb'ers with profiles, friends, & recommendations, etc. In the same way you feel more comfortable knowing more about the people you're staying with, we do too. And a profile pic of a cat doesn't really cut it either... PLEASE ASK - Please just send us a message if you've any questions about staying with us, or visiting Sydney. FIVE STAR STAY - Now here's the most important bit: ** Please use the code words; "Five Star Stay" when you message us about your reservation - Just drop those words into your message to us. It lets us know you've read this information and are ready for a fantastic five star hosted experience with us in our Sydney City home. Can't wait to meet you! cheers, Vinh & Stuart PS Well done for reading this far! Most people don't :( Sorry, this is so long, but we know we've answered all your questions now. And remember to use the code words; "Five Star Stay" in your message.
Pyrmont is an inner-city village of Sydney, only about 2kms from the Sydney CBD (Central Business District) / Core, right next door to Darling Harbour and Chinatown. https://www.airbnb.com.au/locations/sydney/pyrmont Pyrmont has a relaxed community feel with an inner city vibe. Pyrmont is only about 2kms (10 - 15 mins walk) from the centre of Sydney with an extensive range of local restaurants, wine bars, and pubs. There's some seriously good baristas and cafes right close to our home (Go and say hi to Damien & Tim at Bar Zini - it's one of our local faves). There's five star fine dining right through to greasy-spoon takeaways with some of Australia's finest dining restaurants within easy reach. * Darling Harbour and Cockle Bay * Exhibition and Convention Centres * Sydney Fish Markets * Pyrama Point Park * Jones Bay Wharf * The Star (Casino) with Food Halls, Bars, and the Lyric Theatre * Powerhouse Museum * National Maritime Museum Also (back on the food - notice a theme?): * Two grocery / supermarkets within an easy walk * Also a great wine-merchant (and craft beers) on the end of our street * Fantastic deli Signorelli Gastronomia round the corner * Food stores, grocery, and supermarkets * Pyrmont Growers Market 1st Saturday monthly; farm direct & artisan foodies. Pyrmont was once a thriving industrial waterfront / working port area with ship-building, factories and wool-stores. Over the last decade there's been a considerable influx of new residents and commercial / residential development that has transformed the area into a trendy mix of inner city residents and commercial HQs. For example Goo gle has their Sydney office, the "Goo gleplex" just down the road, as is Fairfax Media, NOKIA, and the Seven Network (TV). Media Production houses, boutique cable TV channels, etc. The UTS (University of Technology) campus, the ABC's Ultimo headquarters (Australia's National Broadcaster), the Sydney Convention Centre, and the Sydney Entertainment Centre, are all within walking distance. Sydney University is about 20 minutes walk away (only 10 mins in a cab or bus). Eat, drink, and be merry: Being ex-restaurateurs we'd be more than happy to point you in the right direction for a great meal in Sydney. And there's plenty on tap too. You can't walk more than a block in any direction without walking into the front bar of a local pub, or a wine bar, or a great cafe, or restaurant… To give you an idea, there's 9 of Sydney's top 10 restaurants within easy walking distance: * Rockpool * Momofuku Seiobo * Quay * Sepia * Est * Rockpool Bar & Grill * Tetsuya's * Bentley * The Bridge Room And there's plenty of local colour and great tastes whatever your price point or culinary favourite. With a full range of cafes and restaurants in between, right through to the cheap & cheerful Harry's Cafe de Wheels (a late night Sydney institution), Noodle King, and all the vibrant offerings of Chinatown there's no end of options... Modern Australian, Persian, Goan, Japanese, Indonesian, Malay, Italian, Indian... All at our door Must do's (our local faves) in Pyrmont include: * Bar Zini * Gallon * Blue Eye Dragon * Le Trader * Social Brew * Made in Italy * Vrindavan Indian Restaurant * Hamachi-Ya * Kura * Hannah's Pies * Pioik Bakery * Flying Fish * Signorelli Gastronomia * The Apprentice * Brio * Yuzu * Sokyo * Persian Room * BLACK by Ezzard * Cafe Morso * Little Monk Get the idea? (and we haven't even hit Chinatown yet!) Pyrmont is really close to the Sydney CBD and the other inner city villages: * An easy 10 minute walk into the city centre * Shopping: QVB, TGV, etc… "Lacroix Sweetie Lacroix" * Circular Quay, the Sydney Opera House, and BridgeClimb * King Street Wharf * Museum of Contemporary Art * Art Gallery of NSW * Sydney Museum * Hyde Park * Botanic Gardens * Chinatown, Paddy's Markets, and the Chinese Gardens * Surry Hills * Paddington * The historic Rocks area * Kings Cross * CarriageWorks Famers Markets @ Eveleigh every Saturday * Pyrmont Farmer Markets 1st Saturday of the month
  • I really enjoyed staying at Vinh & Stuart's home. They are lovely guys and know how to be social while also giving you space. They've put in a lot of thought so everything in the house that you need is at your fingertips. It's a great space in a terrific part of Sydney, and I do recommend.

  • It was a happy and comfort stay. All necessary facilities, easy access. Location is great. I love the riverside park the backyard (garden) overlooks. Buses close by covers most destination in city. And if you like, walking distance from Darling Harbour. The host Vinh was also friendly and ready to help!

  • My husband and I stayed with Vinh and Stuart during our honeymoon in October 2010. Vinh and Stuart were wonderful hosts to us in their beautiful home, and left us feeling as though we were visiting friends visiting, not strangers in a far away land. I can't recommend them highly enough. My husband and I would love the opportunity to visit Sydney again someday, and look forward to seeing Vinh and Stuart when we do.

  • This was my first airbnb experience (and my first bnb experience) ever. And my gosh, I'll never stay in a hotel in Sydney again if there's a chance I can hang out at Stuart and Vinh's home again. These guys are charming, genuine hosts who seem to have this remarkable ability to give you the exact experience you need. The room and house is wonderful, the bathroom is perfect and the views are sensational. Want to stay in and work? No worries! Feeling like a chat? They are wonderful conversationalists. Want to explore? They'll point you in the right direction. Honestly, I cannot imagine how anyone could be a better host. These guys are generous to the core, and I feel lucky to have met them.

  • This was my first Airbnb experience and Vinh and Stuart made me feel very welcome. Vinh was very patient, helpful and they have a beautiful and spacious home located in a super central location in Sydney. We also talked in length about each other's businesses. I would high recommend staying with Vinh and Stuart when you are in Sydney. For me, it beats any hotels in the city (which are usually tiny) by a long shot!

    Zheng2014-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Vinh was there to meet us in the afternoon and showed us how to work the Aldi coffee machine! Place was pretty close to what was advertised.

    Robin + Belinda2014-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • Safe and quiet neighborhood, with a sunny outlook across the water. This property is a 2 minute walk to Star Casino and a further 5 minutes to all the entertainment of Darling Harbour. Lots of quaint little restaurants in the immediate vicinity also. Kenji doesn't bark ever and is the cutest little doggie. Stuart and Vinh were excellent hosts and hardly ever home, so there's plenty of privacy if you desire that. They have a couple of Opal cards for guests to use on public transport, so we only had to top up ($10 min) to use the light rail and buses that were nearby. Will stay again and recommend to our friends. Glen and Karen.

  • Vinh and stuarts place was absolutly lovely and we had a great stay. The room was comfortable and the house was neat and tidy. They were very helpful and kind and we would recomend their place to other travelers.

Beautifully stylish, unique and thoughtful design in the most trendy location in Sydney. A short stroll to the hippest cafes, shops and transport to anywhere in the city (5 minutes walk from central station).
Uniquely spacious 1 bedroom flat. The flat is one of two seperate apartments in a heritage listed terrace nestled on a lovely residential street in Surry Hills. Our space flows over the entire bottom floor of the terrace and is accessed by a seperate private door. The space has an open flow between kitchen and lounge areas and the bedroom is tucked in behind a thick (12mm) glass wall with adjustable timber venetian blinds and a block out curtain across the entrance makes for a completely private space. The flat is equipped with anything you might need to make sure your stay is pleasurable; including comfortable leather lounges, a well equipped kitchen with nespresso coffee machine, new dishwasher, ceramic cooktop and stainless appliances (no oven though so if you must have freshly baked muffins for breakfast check the guidebook for some great options at your door step ;-). Wifi is of course provided as well as ample desk space and the TV comes (apart from the free to air channel) with a netflix subscription and access to abc iview and sbs on demand so if you're tired of exploring the city just kick back and relax on the comfortable lounge and catch up with the latest. There is also a tiny, really really small! courtyard out the back that we've earmarked for a herb garden - stay tuned... In a nutshell - the terrace is very well maintained, with renovated interiors but the bones of the terrace are lovely, quirky and old style. Typical Sydney urban living on a leafy quiet street.
Sydney is best known for it's beaches and picture perfect, glistening harbour but in recent years it's starting to give Melbourne a run for it's money when it comes to great bars, amazing food, off centre arts and culture (pronounced as a nasal 'Cultcha'). Surry hills is where it all happens in Sydney - you really can't get closer to the trendy heart of our city than this. Walk to the centre of crown and oxford street central, china town, and the sports venues (SCG, Allianz Stadium and fox studios). We've included some of our favourite neighbourhood haunts as well as some worth checking out further afield. Eating and Drinking in the hood: For great coffee - Rebuen Hills is a roastery and cafe around the corner on albion street. Salary man has AMAZING seasonal food - asian with a modern twist - make sure you book. Tokyo bird Bodega (it's on the list not because WE recommend it but because others will - some people rave about it but we have had some pretty average fare here) Pasta Emilia on Riley is a quaint little italian grocer with THE BEST pasta.. Bills - on crown street is a sydney institution for sunday brunch.. Dimitris Pizza - thin crusted pizza in unassuming surrounds. Our favorite pizza in sydney... Mille Vini nice little italian wine bar and tapas on crown street. For Groceries About Life - on crown street is a good place for organic everything including everything from healthy takeaway to organic shampoo.. Woolworths express on the corner of Elizabeth and foveaux street is good for inner city groceries. Other amenities in the hood: The Library on crown street across from the shannons reserve is a lovely peaceful space. Markets: specialising in handmade, second-hand and recycled goods. The surry hills markets are held on the first Saturday of every month in Shannon Reserve, on the corner of Crown and Collins Streets. Not too further afield in the city: Try out the Spice Alley tucked in a little hidden alley behind george street. The Cooke & Philip swimming pool is a fantastic brutalist concrete truly urban pool. Also don;t miss the White Rabbit Gallery for a touch of very contemporary, very accessible Chinese art housed in a lovely 3 storey rennovated surrounds complete with a tearoom downstairs - great for a rainy day...
  • Noa's place is amazing. So well thought out. Incredibly eclectic in its industrial design with super quirky and interesting design and art pieces. Noa and Keren were great to deal with and the place is in the heart of it all. Simply great!!!

    Rhiannon2017-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • Noa's flat is perfectly located in Surry Hills with a great amount of space for one or two.

    Mark2017-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • Noa was a great host! She was super easy to communicate with, left us with an awesome list to make us feel accommodated and the place was just as pictured. Would definitely stay again.

    Katie2017-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Location, location, location! Noa's very nice apartment is so close to the city centre that it's possible to walk in, plus the surrounding area is full of great cafes, restaurants and shops. It's a classic inner-city pad, small but with extremely clever use of the space available creating a couple of lounge areas and a comfortable bedroom (with a comfortable bed). Basic but well-equipped cooking facilities and good wifi. This is a great base for a trip to Sydney.

    Irene2017-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • Walking distance from Central station, exceptionally clean, friendly service and extremely pleasurable ambiance this place has. Shame we only booked one night! Highly recommended.

    Kanittha2017-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks Noa for being such a flexible and communicative host. Despite not seeing Noa, she was very helpful and made checking in a breeze. The place is unique, clean and the bed is too comfy. Could sleep in it all day. the place is a dream home to me filled with unique decor pieces, books and even tea provided. We will definitely be back!

    Lucinda2017-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • Noa's apartment was the perfect spot for our stay in Sydney. It is close to so many great cafes, bars, and restaurants, as well as a nice walk into the city center. It felt like coming home at the end of the day, which was a much nicer experience than any hotel could provide. Noa met us early on our check in day and was able to hold our bags while the apartment was prepped. She provided tips on a cafe to try nearby and was so kind through the whole process. I definitely recommend Noa's apartment if you want a cozy place to stay in Sydney. I'll certainly book again the next time we're in town.

    Andy2017-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Noa's apartment was perfect and exactly like the pictures! We have just had the best weekend and cannot wait to come back. Will certainly be recommending this apartment to friends and family visiting Sydney. Noa was so easy to contact and very helpful throughout the stay - thankyou!!

This place is awesome! A 2 bedroom London style Mansion Block (or NYC style) apartment in the heart of Sydney, located in a quiet street moments from Oxford St, Hyde Park, CBD, Surry Hills & Kings Cross. Newly renovated & 100% beautiful.
Having lived in a couple of mansion blocks in central London, I was so surprised to find that style of accommodation right here in the heart of Sydney. Beyond trying to 'sell' how cool the space is, my honest opinion is that not only is this building truly beautiful, it must be (I think) a truly rare and fortunate find in central Sydney. Lucky me/you! :) The room itself is a double with queen bed. Built in mirrored wardrobes, super comfy bed, window into the shared light well for natural light, all new furniture. There are two bays in the wardrobe and I use one as a linen cupboard. There is stacks of room for your stuff in the other bay :) The bathroom is shared, with shower & bath, vanity, and loads of cupboard space for your personal care products. The living area combines kitchen, lounge and a cupboard laundry with washing machine and dryer. There is also a drying rack. The lounge includes a small Juliet balcony accessed through french doors and looks out onto lush deciduous trees (sadly they loose their leaves in winter).
This is my 5th residence in Sydney since moving here in 2012. Having lived in Pott's Point, Kings Cross, Wooloomooloo and Surry Hills, I can now say that Darlinghurst is my personal favourite location of all these, mostly becuase it's right in the middle of them. Surry is 5 minutes walk, KX and Pott's is 7. And you are in fabulous darlo already ;) Bondi is a 30 minute cycle or bus ride away, and in summer I go most weekends to Tamarama, a smaller beach next to Bondi that I really enjoy. If you like the gym, I recommend Fitness First or City Gym, 5 minutes away. The infamous Oxford St is also 5 minutes away for nightlife, Kings Cross, CBD, Circular Quay, Hyde Park, The Domain and Botanical Gardens, Sydney Opera House, all in super close proximity. This is a great spot for visitors and to live too. Check out Time Out Sydney and Urban Walkabout Sydney for details on all these great neighbourhoods. Just do a web search. The site won't let me give you the links directly.
  • The location of this apartment is amazing. Pretty much everything is within walking distance and for those things slightly further, Museum station is so close that it make these things easily accessible. Although the apartment is in such a great location, it is located on a quiet street so you won't be disturbed by city noises. The apartment itself is very nice. Although it's pretty small, it felt like plenty of space because of the way it's laid out, high ceilings, and very well appointed interior. The bed was also really comfortable. Reid is really friendly and although I didn't get to see him too much, he was always prepared to give useful advice as to places to visit and local knowledge of the nightlife.

    David2015-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • Reid, it was a pleasure staying with you, thank you very much for your hospitality! Your apartment is in a perfect spot making it an ideal place for exploring Sydney. Kind regards, Edwin

    Esther2015-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • Reid's place is nice and cozy. Just 5 minutes walk to the bus stop and less than 10 minutes walk to the shopping area. There are also some nice places to have brunch, which me and girlfriend were really enjoyed about it.

    PEERAPATRA2017-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • Reid was very friendly and hospitable. He made sure that my arrival was flawless (from getting the key to settling in). The listing (the location, common room, bathroom, and my room) was very accurate according to the information and photos posted here. The unit was located more or less on the second floor after climbing up few stairs. Might be challenging if you have many (big) luggages because it has no elevator, but totally worth it. The unit was clean and homey with nice view from the balcony, in a great location (about 1min walk to Hyde Park and 2min walk to the beginning of Oxford St). The area was so quiet and peaceful although it was located very central. One amazing thing that I found was the guest information folder that has Reid's floor plan and description, as well as clippings and maps related to travel and tourism in Sydney. Very informative and useful for many. Equipped with speedy wifi, coffee and tea were provided, including the amenities such as shower gel, shampoo, and other stuffs just like in hotels (even better). Hot shower worked well and fast (if you are being particular about this as some people do). Bed was very comfy and I could sleep well. No AC inside the bedroom but that was not a problem at all since the fan was enough to make the room breezy and cool. Another highlight was there was a roomy space in the wardrobe dedicated to put your stuffs. I found that staying with Reid in his place was more than just the listing itself. His friendliness and great hospitality were more valuable and important additions to his lovely place. We had a great conversation, sharing thoughts and laughter, even in such a short time (mostly after 9pm when we both were at home). Great personality, respectful, and always stay true to himself. I admired his determination for work, as well as for his personal being (living healthy, eating healthy, etc). Something that I learned from him. Thank you so much for everything. This place is highly recommended for anyone who wants to stay in Sydney city center, not only because of the lovely place, but also the lovely host.

    Ferdi2016-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • What a great location in an amazing city. Less than 50 meters from Hyde Park and within a few blocks of the museum stop on the train from the airport. The apartment is fine and Reid is a gracious host providing hotel like shampoo etc in the lavatory. I was mostly out of the apartment at nearby meetings

    Jed2017-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • Very Centrally-located Airbnb in a lovely neighbourhood :) 5-10 mins walk to Town Hall/CBD! 20 mins walk to Darling Harbour! Reid was really helpful and responsive to msgs! Thank u for offering such a lovely place to stay! Really enjoyed my stay in Sydney! :)

    Nancy 2017-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • A very good place to stay in Sydney. Reid is a great host! The apartment is ideally placed and perfectly clean. I would recommend staying there to everyone.

Dean and Bron were super friendly and helpful with plenty of advice for our stay in Sydney. They even offered us lift. Lovely cats and dogs - and the very hip Bourne Streeet Bakery just round the corner was an extra bonus. All in all, highly recommended!

    Jonas2014-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful home and excellent location. Easy to find and make our way around Sydney. Bron was a super host and made us feel at home.

    Aimee2015-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Dean and Bron are amazing hosts. They welcomed me into their beautifully styled home like a good friend or family member. The room upstairs is large and opens onto the quiet street so you really feel like you're part of the neighborhood. They are generous and will provide great recommendations of things to do in Sydney, and especially around the great Surry Hills neighborhood. I would highly recommend anyone looking for a comfortable, welcoming, fun home to stay here.

    Bonnie2015-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • Dean and Bron were wonderful hosts and made us feel very welcome in their home. The room in their adorable terrace house is lovely and has everything you need. The Surry Hills location is perfect; quiet, but only minutes to countless cafés, bars, restaurants and shops. Dean and Bron are full of great recommendations for things to do and places to visit in the area - we had a great time here!

    Courtney2015-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • I had a really nice experience living in the lovely house. I booked seven days, while I changed my plan in the meantime. I informed Dean one day before I leave that I will leave two days earlier than I supposed to. According to the airbnb policy listed, I should get 100% refund for the last two days .but I still have not get mine after two weeks. After all, it is a lovely house and nice free candle and soap

Redfern station is a 5 minute walk from the house, and Central station is a 12 minute walk from the house. There's a fully equipped gym a 5 minute walk away, a lovely sunny outdoor 50 metre swimming pool a 7 minute walk away, a few yoga studios, as well as a large supermarket a 2 minute walk away. It's a lovely central suburb with interesting bars and cafes popping up everywhere, and safe to walk around and arrive home after dark alone. Taxis and Ubers are easy to catch right outside the door. Plenty of space in the house and conveniently close to transport and any amenity you may need whilst staying. There is 2 hour parking on the street outside the house and all day parking a couple of blocks away from the house.
It's a fast growing and evolving neighbourhood with plenty of new cafes and bars opening often. The convenience of this including a supermarket, a 30 minute walk into the city and plenty of green space within moments of the house to enjoy. Redfern is a safe inner city suburb. The house is moments away from buses and Redfern station is a 5 minute walk away.
  • Mel was great keeping me up to date with arrival instructions as we were a bit unsure of events - it all worked out well and was no hassle. Mel is an excellent host and made me feel welcome as soon as I arrived - the house/room and location is first class -thoroughly recommended 10/10

  • A perfect place to stay in an excellent location. Everything was really great, clean and comfortable. I felt completely welcomed and at home with Mel and was sad to leave. Harry the dog was great company while I was working downstairs in the sunny kitchen and Mel was the best to talk to when I got home from work at night. I'd love to stay here again.

    Laura2015-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Mel made me feel instantly welcome. Hey house is beautiful; reminded me in many ways of my old place in Amsterdam, and I felt very comfortable there immediately. The bed was very comfortable, the room is airy and spacious, with space in the built-in wardrobes for your clothes. Yay. The location is brilliant; I need to be in the CBD most days when in Sydney so it's about a 5 minute walk from Mel's place to Redfern Station and then two stops to Town Hall. I would happily stay there again.

  • Great host with a great place. Such a nice and helpful contact. Thx for everything mel

  • We had a lovely time staying at Mels house. On arrival we had a warm welcome and felt at home. I would recommend staying here as you can come and go as you please. Mel was laid back and overall thoroughly enjoyed our stay

    Kate2016-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Mel was helpful, warm and welcoming, even before I arrived. Her place is attractive. I loved the old features and the warmth of the timber in the bedroom. Mel went out of her way to make my stay enjoyable.

  • Well, that was fun! I had the perfect time at Mel`s place. Mel is a very easy going, communicative and fun host; her dog is a charm and the house is huge, modern and stylish. I have stayed in 4 different places in Sydney over my 3.5 months over here and Mel`s place won by a fair margin. That does NOT mean that the other places were bad, its just that practically everything with Mel`s place was a little bit better. Visit her, you will definitely not regret it.

    Philip2014-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • Had a short stay with Mel and Harry but made to feel very welcome and had a lovely time in the Redfern/Surry Hills area. Close to transport links, lots of nice cafes/restaurants within walking distance, and a nice spacious bedroom to come back to. Shared bathroom but never felt like we were intruding. Mel was lovely and inviting and Harry was very friendly too.

My 34 sqm studio is quietly tucked away yet in the middle of everything. There are a gazillion cafes/bars/supermarkets right downstairs and weekend markets across the road. A pleasant walk by the water takes you to the art gallery, botanic gardens and opera house.
The apartment is on the border between the red-light district (home to some hard characters, weekend party-goers and backpackers) and the gentrified part of the neighbourhood (the 'Paris end' of Potts Point). The 1937 building, originally nurses quarters, definitely needs a facelift but retains its period charm. My flat is renovated so feels fresh. The bathroom has been brightly painted since the photos but the shower temperature is tricky to get right so I often took baths living there, and the bath is nice and deep. Nestled between other apartments overlooking the high street and rear laneway, my flat is on the first floor and faces into a lightwell. This means there is no grand vista but also no street noise, and it's temperate with plenty of natural light. It feels spacious for a studio as the bathroom, kitchen, walk-in wardrobe and bed nook are separate from the central living area. It has a very comfortable double bed and a good fold-out single bed. Below are a patisserie and Thai take-away so kitchen sounds and smells can waft up (I've never found this too intrusive but some guests have mentioned it, see reviews). The most frequent positive feedback I get from guests is around the apartment's decoration/style and location.
I love the harbour-side walk to the Andrew Boy Charlton swimming pool, across the water from the strangely beautiful naval base. The Saturday food markets have a great vibe (I recommend The Butchers Table stall sandwiches and the Vietnamese salads and pho) and the patisserie right next door does amazing chocolate mousse cake and croissants. If you exit the back door of the building you open it onto a tiny hole-in-the-wall cafe called Room 10 which does excellent, and marvellously convenient, coffee. Bourke Street Bakery has underground seating which is warm in winter and cool in summer. The walk to Beare Park on the water takes you through residential streets with nice art deco architecture and past the historic Elizabeth Bay House, which itself has a lovely public garden across the road - both good spots for a picnic. Rushcutter's Bay is a more expansive park, good for jogging, frizbee, playgrounds etc. For brekky I go to a cafe behind my building called Petrol (terrible name, slow service, excellent food!) There is a lot of nightlife in the area - the gay clubbing precinct is nearby, tawdry Kings Cross is in full swing on weekend nights and there are some more sophisticated small bars in Potts Point and on Victoria Street. Close to Sydney's major attractions, the area is full of hotels & hostels, a tourist information booth and places to hire travelling vans, book outback adventures etc. There's an airport shuttle bus which loops around the streets every half hour and the hop-on hop-off city tour bus stops outside my building.
  • Ariana's apartment is our first Airbnb experience and to be honest Ariana has set a high standard as a host. Location wise is perfect! We found it very convenient even with a baby in a carrier tied to the chest and a pram. Saturday flee market is just across the road and a convenient store selling airport shuttle ticket is just next to it. Ariana, you should have mentioned the tonnes of food available! ;p Many thanks for the hospitality and we would love to come back again one day :)

    Ariff2015-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Ariana is a nice host and gave us useful information. The appartment is very well located very close to the CBD and Opera house and easy to reach. The appartment appears bigger at the pictures than in reality. The shower is dificult to adjust.

    Desi2015-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely apartment in a great location and Ariana is a fantastic host. Would absolutely recommend. Beware of the bakery downstairs that woke us up with the most delicious smell in the morning. Good luck with avoiding buying something from there!

    Rosa2014-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • The location was perfect! Easy walking distance to all major attractions and east transit options. Lovely restaurants in alley and nearby streets. Small but comfortable and well-appointed apartment. Clean and just as pictured. Would stay here again.

    Jill2016-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay! Very clean and tidy place, and it was the perfect location for getting into town and also to the train station. It had everything we needed, would definately stay again when I am back!

    Harriet2015-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Ariana is a lovely person so it was a pleasure making the booking and subsequent arrangements with her. The apartment was just as I expected it to be after viewing photos online and reading the other reviews, a very relaxed and comfortable place, well taken care of with all you need, perfect really! We loved it and we loved being in Potts Point which is a very hip part of Sydney within walking distance to the CBD with lots of great restaurants and cafes and a great vibrancy and feel about it. All in all we had a wonderful time and I highly recommend a stay here! Thank you so much Ariana and we hope to be back sometime soon!

    Caroline2014-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great flat and in an excellent location, close to some good bars and restaurants. It's very homely and comfortable, plus Arias is a great host always happy to help.

    Amit2017-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • Ariana's place is amazing and she is a great host. It's very easy to get there by just a 2-3 minutes walk from Kings Cross Station and it's actually very safe even at night. If you want to take a walk to the city it will take around 15 minutes to QVB area. Her place is very clean and you will find what you need like towels, hair dryer and wifi. She also has this welcoming booklet which answers a lot of questions you may have. She's also always in contact, advising good spots to go and very helpful. There were three of us staying over for 9 days and we all loved the place and had a really nice experience in Sydney :)

  • Nina is a nice host and gave us recommendations for the Sydney tour. We enjoyed a wonderful trip at her place.

    2016-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our three-day stay --- Nina wonderfully welcomed us, she went above and beyond when our arrival was very delayed, and when she personally helped us reach the city center. I loved that in the room there is a booklet with useful detailed information about the surroundings and else! The room is as described, very pleasant, comfy, including a hanger closet, and in a very nice apartment. Everything is spotless. We also liked the location: Apart from the near park, entertainment area, and Paddington, a few minutes walk also takes you to frequent buses (just 20min ride) to city center/opera as well as to the Sydney beaches/coast (Coogee and Bondi)! It was a great stay, and again thank you Nina!

I offer a fantastic, comfortable, cosy private room in my two bedroom apartment in the heart of Sydney's eastern suburbs. I'm an experienced Airbnb host and have just moved into a new place.
My space is a comfortable and safe apartment on the top floor of a unit complex. The private room is furnished with a Very comfortable bed and has stunning views of Sydney's skyline (which looks particularly amazing at night!).
The complex is in a quiet street in the heart of Sydney eastern suburbs, wedged between the city and beautiful beaches. Bronte, my personal favourite, is about ten to fifteen minutes walk away (depending on your pace). World-famous Bondi is a long walk or a short car or uber ride. We're also very close to other natural gems like Sydney Harbour and the coastal walking route.

  • Daniel was great and made my parents (the guests) feel very welcome. The room is raw but modern, in a great location, and very private in relation to his beautiful home. Daniel was very quick to communicate and everything went perfectly. Could do with a new bed, but aside from that, a great place and excellent value - I'd stay there!

Daniel was a warm, helpful host who went out of his way to make us feel comfortable.....we would definitely go back there again.

  • Daniel was an absolutely gracious and easy-going host. I arrived and found a detailed map with suggestions for groceries, food, etc. The studio was separate from the apartment, felt very private, and comfortable. When I encountered a problem with the front door, Daniel quickly helped me out right away to solve the problem. Neighborhood was quiet, not far away from city center. Would recommend Daniel and his amazing studio to anyone!

  • Quiet and safe neighbourhood with many nice eateries, supermarket, bus stops and train station located within walking distance. Check-in and check-out were smooth, had an undisturbed stay through out, plus a friendly dog in the house is a bonus! Thanks Daniel!

  • Daniel is a very welcoming and thoughtful host. He was very responsive to messages and ensured that we had all the information we needed for an easy arrival and to make the most of our short stay. Daniels home is in a lovely urban setting, right in the middle of one of Sydney´s "hip" suburbs, Redfern. We loved exploring the back roads and alleys. Make sure you visit Bourke Street Bakery which is only a short walk from the Studio. The studio itself is well designed, modern, clean and had everything we needed for our two night stay. The bed was uber-comfortable with crisp white sheets!! I wish we had more time to sit and relax in your cute little backyard - well maybe next time ;-) Thanks for having us!

    Kristin2016-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • The best reason to choose this property is location and it is also quiet. The communication was good with Daniel even though I only met him on the day I left as we were out and about the whole time. I would recommend to stay here.

  • We had a wonderful stay at Daniels studio, it is the perfect hideaway in a great neighbourhood. Will be back :)

  • Daniel is a great and caring host, the real airbnb experience. The place is the best location ever and it feels so cosy. Although being in the centre, it is very quite too. A 10 out of 10!!!

  • Michal was a wonderful host, allowing us to check in early and giving all the information we needed for our stay. The accommodation was exactly as Michal described it and had everything we needed,it was very peaceful and beds were comfortable. On the day of departure Michal looked after our suitcases for us after we had checked out so we could go out for the day as out flight was late afternoon.

  • My husband and I are currently relocating to Sydney, Australia. My parents live 3 hours drive outside the city and had been commuting to visit our dog that just arrived in the Sydney Quarantine Station and looking for a place for us to rent in Sydney. Michal kindly approved my parents to stay in her self contained oasis for a few nights as I didn't want them having to drive back and forth so much. Michal was very hospitable and kind. My parents really enjoyed her company when they had a chat on the porch and her beautiful dog. The place was in a very convenient location and they were able to park with ease. Communication with Michal was simple and friendly always with a quick response time to myself and my parents. I would highly recommend this little haven.

Classic Sydney terrace in an extremely central and convenient location. Surrounded by beautiful tree lined streets the property is only a 15 minute walk from the Sydney CBD and provides easy access to public transport, cafes and all the attractions of trendy Oxford Street. Shared with one guy, two girls and one little dog; yet often due to work arrangements the house will only have two others (+dog) at any one time. The available room is a basically furnished cute loft on the third floor.

  • Ty is a very kind and welcoming host. Our room was very spacious with a large and comfortable bed as well as a great closet. The bus stop was minutes away from the front door which was great for getting into the city. It was also a very convenient spot to stay if you want to explore the beaches around Sydney (Bondi, Coogee, etc..) There is a shopping centre directly across from the apartment which has many food markets. The street itself (Belmore) has many places to eat and a great coffee spot right next door.

Live a super Sydney lifestyle in our comfy hip house in a beautiful, quiet, leafy suburb not far from the beach, parks or city. Woollahra is trendy and yet super laidback. Our home is a relaxing oasis, under 10 mins to CBD, nightlife, cafes, harbour and beaches. Bus to city is 300m walk, train is 800m walk where there are local food shops. Plenty of all day parking on the street for those with wheels.

  • Had a briiliant time at Petras place . The house isvery central to most important venues ( CBD = City) beaches, Airport as much as over the street for Centennial Park and nearby shopping facilities, malls and public transport. Being with Petra as much as her flatmate Morton was a brilliant time , netertaining as much as insights into Australia you will hardly find in backpacker or hotelplaces. Anything you need you will find in and around the house as long as you are a down-to-earth person without need for 5-Star-all-inclusive-setups . While travelling around the world for charity at the (URL HIDDEN) Petras place was the right spot at the right time with th right people for me. Enjoy a wonderful look over Sydneys skyline or some quiet in the backyard garden - it´s up to you to enjoy the place - will come back some other time hopefully - Happy New Year 2016 :-)

I fell in love with the Royal Randwick Shopping Mall which I walked to almost every day. It's only about 7 minutes walk to the mall. Love the curry and wraps from the shop in the corner of Alison and Avoca St. Nice to find out that this shop is open all night.
