Vacation Rentals in Cayo Santa María

Just booked in Cayo Santa María

Our hostel is an eclectic style house located in the city center of Santa Clara. Decorated at Louis XV and Louis XVI styles. Surrounded by a cozy and friendly family atmosphere.
Hostal D´ Cordero is located in the city center, nearby to Leoncio Vidal Park, just in Santa Clara´s old town. With an Eclectic Style it was built in 1930 by Elio Fileno de Cárdenas, a Senator of the Republic from 1940 to 1948. The house has comfortable rooms with high supported roofs. Room number 1 is set in a Venetian Style while room number 2 has an elegant Luis XVI furniture, both have old design bathrooms decorated with sea motifs. Room number 3 is decked out with pieces of furniture inspired in the 50s, it has a large restored bathroom and a big painting from the local artist Juan Ramón Valdés Gómez (Yiki). Room number 4 has a Luis XV décor, it also possesses a beautiful stained glass window and a small sitting room furnished with wicker fittings (“Diana style”), it is adorned with a wide collection of contemporary and ancient paintings made by Cuban and foreign artists. The rest of the house is exquisitely decorated with collections of paintings, lamps, porcelains, crystal and bronze ornaments. The living room has beautiful mosaics imported from Italy and an impressive Luis XV style furniture which belonged to the famous Cuban poet Dulce María Loynaz rewarded with the Cervantes Literature Award. There is a spacious central patio surrounded by a corridor and a graceful colonnade with pleasing ornamental plants, a bower that offers visitors a place to relax and an ancient fountain which is not only a beautiful ornament but also represents the distinctive marc of the house.
The house is placed in a quiet secure zone away from the city traffic and near to essential places where visitor can appreciate our local and national culture such as: Caridad´s Theatre, Decorative Art Museum and “El Mejunje” entertaining center. People can easily get to our historical sites like Che Guevara Sculptural Complex, The Armoured Train Museum and Che Guevara´s statue. There are also other facilities nearby, like currency change houses, tourist information bureaus, shops, restaurants, bars and night clubs.
  • This place has a great atmosphere and the food is fabulous

  • We stayed at Orlando's place for only one night. The house has a beautiful garden and it is located near the central square. We had breakfast and the specialty of the house for dinner. Unfortunately, we both had the food bug a couple of hours after dinner. We were also disappointed that we were asked by the owner to pay a parking fee for parking our car on the public street just outside the house.

  • Very good stay at Orlando's casa. The casa is really well located in santa clara and has a beautiful patio. The dinner was really excellent. Orlando and the people who run the casa are really nice. I recommend it!!!!

  • Orlando and Diana were wonderful hosts, always available and helpful when we needed information about the area, and very attentive and gracious. Their home is as beautiful as pictured on airbnb. The terrace, ringed in tropical vegetation and fountain, was a great, cool place to relax in the heat of the day. Santa Clara seems safe and welcoming, and so the neighborhood. Children play in the streets long after nightfall. On another subject, Cuba is Cuba, and it's difficult for new casa particular owners to find, let alone provide all of the small luxurious that are so easily available to acquire in richer countries. That said, any of them wanting in this delightful environment aren't worth mentioning. Thank you, Orlando and Diana. Thank you for taking care of us. You'll do well when the new wave of Americans start crowding into Santa Clara. Margy and Tim

  • The hostel is beautiful with big rooms, comfortable beds and huge bathrooms. Most importantly the aircon is very effective! We ate there in the evening and highly recommend the seafood platter.

  • Beautiful courtyard with very nice breakfast. Quiet but also close to Parque Vidal which is a nice place to visit at night when all the locals come out. Very clean and comfortable bed. Nicely appointed with everything that you might need. Great AC! Close (a few blocks) to Florida Restaurant which we would highly recommend - very good dinners, reasonably priced, with lots of free side dishes.

  • Orlandos' Hostal is a well run establishment. The rooms are beautiful and clean, and they are large as well. He makes you feel comfortable and is pretty helpful. It is a business, run like a business. Don't expect a traditional family interaction.

  • Orlando's place was stellar. We were greeted upon arrival, and even though we only stayed one night, we felt incredibly welcomed and comfortable. The breakfast was enough for five people! And the dinner, which we ordered ahead, was truly delicious. I enjoyed the courtyard, fountain, and arbor in the eating area. Nice light.

Incredible Beachfront House in a Picturesque Fisherman's Village, with Old, Garden Surrounding Surrounding, located in a residential area just 2 kilometers from the Pedraplen which leads you to the North Cliff of Villa Clara.
The house is a modern construction of the Year 2011. It is located on a large plot facing the sea. It has 3 double bedrooms, one of them with independent bathroom. Both bathrooms have hot water. The cleaning is done daily and is included in the price of the House. The house has a maximum capacity of 6 people. Attention available 24 hours
The House is located in a beautiful Ribiera of a Village of Fishermen and residential with its Casitas next to the sea, ideal for a good rest, with its tranquility and its charm of the Landscape. Surrounded by the Sea where you can enjoy pure air and beautiful sunsets. Caibarién has important historical and natural attractions for Tourism. Just 9km away from the Remedios Colonial Incantation, the town of Caibarién was founded in the uncertain year of 1841 and would soon become one of the main commercial ports of the Region. The industrial activity of Caibarién, mainly during the last decades of the 19th century and until the beginning of the 20th century, left several highly expressive testimonies: sugar mills that today are inspiring ruins, where huge gears and other pieces of culture are still oxidized Sugar material in Cuba; As well as a collection of classic locomotives, commonly known as the Steam Museum. In this sense, the Museum of the Agroindustria Azucarera Marcelo Salado, an excellent place to take photographs, must be mentioned, as it is located in the most important Central of the Region in the past, the Municipal Museum María Escobar, located in Plaza Central . On the other hand, in summer we enjoy the parrandas of Caibarién, they offer a show of colors and music whose enormous attractiveness is only eclipsed by those of Remedios, who, undoubtedly, are the grandest of Cuba. Caibarién is also the anteroom of the North Keys of Villa Clara; However, its authenticity and the friendliness of its people go beyond any tourist convention. It is a village with tradition of Fishing and Hospitable People. All year long the fresh sea breezes are breathed. It counts this town with cays (small islands) of beautiful beaches to about 40 kilometers entering in the Atlantic Ocean. The main keys are linked to the village by a road (Pedraplen) through the water and at the end of the journey as well as beautiful beaches, which have nothing to envy to Cancun or Hawaii, as well as a marina where you can rent different boats and hire Beautiful fishing trips or walk in its waters.
  • We were at Luz Maria's place in November and we had a very good time! We were amazed to find such a nice place in such a secluded and modest fishermen's village. The house was clean and very nicely decorated, the location excellent and the housekeeper friendly and helpful.

  • This place is outstanding. The best dinner and breakfast we had in our 7 days in Cuba. The host was very helpful makings transportation arrangements for us. We did kayaking and lounge by the pool after a long day at the beach. Love Luz Maria and her husband, great people.

  • BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!After reading all the positive reviews we expected a high class accommodation. Instead we got a big house, with wonderful garden, but without any maintenance: hardly any water pressure from the shower, old furniture, extremely noisy air condition!!But the worst is its position. Its beach side was extremely dirty with garbage (i made photos of it), the sea awfully dirty (no chance to swim at all!!) and the village of Carribean is very shanty, much under the Cuban average (Remedios much better)! Also very noisy area with dogs barking all the time. For such an high price it NOT A CHOICE!!

    Tommaso 2017-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • We spent 5 days in this really nice house. All was perfect there and the kids loved the house. Thanks to Babi, she took great care of us. Thanks again.

  • It is like a little oasis on the waterfront of the bay. Try the swimming pool at night, after a hot day, it's a must! Breakfast under the palm leaves covered gazebo was quite a pleasant experience too. The house is large inside and out, very clean and well appointed. As a bonus, Luz Maria is a very caring host.

    Catherine2017-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • We did not meet Luz Maria personally. Barbara welcomed us, but two other women in charge were incredibly nice and sweet. We have beautiful memories. The house was clean, well equipped with well chosen decoration and Mexican accents :) I recommend staying in Beachfront La Pesquera!

  • We chose this house in Caibarien as an alternative to a resort in the nearby Cayos and I would do it all over again. The town of Caibarien feels like a hidden gem. It hasn't been overly renovated to appeal to international tourists because there aren't really any there. You genuinely feel like you are seeing a special part of Cuba in this fisherman's city with a giant crab statue at the entrance. You are perfectly positions to spend time in Cayo Santa Maria or Remedios from this location. We spend our late afternoons hanging out by the pool. It was perfect. The onsite host, Bobby, waited up late for our arrival. We ended up accidentally taking a much more scenic route to the city!

  • Staying here was the best night of our whole trip in Cuba! My new husband and I came for the Remedios festival in December. We were in town for only that night. Remedios also happens to be Christmas Eve. What we were expecting is a nice place to stay (which the house is) and what we got was so much more. Luz Maria, her husband, her sister and mother made us so welcome from the moment we arrived. They spent part of their Christmas holiday with us, offered us a ride to the festival, and then made us an incredible breakfast on Christmas morning. They shared their holiday with us, brought over their adorable son and everyone in the house spent the holiday together. There were three groups of travelers at the house and it was a wonderful time. I've traveled a lot in my life, and can say that the best places, the most memorable places, are the places where a connection with other people is made. My experience here was that and so much more. I can not thank Luz Maria and her family enough! There's a cute little restaurant walking distance from the house where we got rum in young coconuts, we walked to the beach from there, and enjoyed local culture. The house is beautiful, the ocean is right in the backyard, and you can feel how fresh the air is while enjoying the nice backyard view. It's a little tough to find the place, but ask people you see on the street and they'll help you find the house with no trouble.

  • The Casa is very beautiful. The pool and the garden are pretty and the bed is comfortable. The breakfast costs 5 CUC and was always delicious. We enjoyed our stay.

    Larissa2017-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • The house is far from the center of Caibarien (30 min walking) and poorly connected. Caibarien itself is quite a ghost city and it's not easy to travel in and out. The house is nice and spacious, with a great view on the sea. However, it could be run better. The swimming pool is constantly dirty, ducks enjoying it but quite risky for guests. The fridge in the room never got refilled with water after the first day. Breakfast was the worst among many casas we stayed at. Even though the host offered to help us arranging cabs, that was painful: her trusted driver let us wait for 2 hours after the agreed time to pick us up on the day we left.

    Marco2017-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I stayed for two nights, the accommodation was great, the swimming pool and garden where really nice. Additionally, the breakfast was very good. One of the days we went to Cayo Santa María, which is very convenient by car as it is close by. I would really recommend this location and would not doubt staying there again.

    Derek2017-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • We spent 3 nights in the fantastic house in Caibarien. Everything was like they mentioned before and we felt very comfortable. The breakfast was great and we enjoyed the time there. We highly recomend to stay at Luz house :)

  • I spent only one day with my friends at Virginia's place but it was an amazing experience! The house is located in a nice and quiet area, near Cayo Santa Maria. The rooms and the bathroom that we used (and the rest of the house) were very clean and tidy. We also had a nice breakfast for 5 euros and a delicious dinner with some local specialties! Virginia and the rest of the people that we met were really friendly and kind. They helped us with organizing our stay and gave us some useful tips. Virginia's place is definitely a great choice for experiencing this part of Cuba! Thank you for everything :)

    Jelena2017-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • Very good exchanges with Virginnia, the communication passes very well. The accommodation is pleasant but no windows of the room giving onto the outside. Too faraway from the "down town" on foot, the local beach is far and durty. A car is absolutely needed to come to Virginia, otherwise, it is compulsory taxi. A good idea if you have a car to go to Cayo Santa Maria.

    Catherine2017-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • I strongly recommend Virginia and her apartments. And her friend prepares the best shrimps in Cuba!

    Aleksei2016-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • The house is super clean and Virginia and her family know the area perfectly and are more than happy to draw you a map so you get to see every single nice place. There are insanely beautiful and wild beaches within 45 minutes drive, it is totally worthy! Follow Virginia advice and you will have a lot of fun. The house itself is nice for a short stay, although the mattress was not in a good condition at all. The breakfast and the dinner are delicious, it is a little bit pricy but it is good to try at least once. We enjoyed a lot! Thank you Virginia!

    Esther2016-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • A great place base yourself if you want to spent some time in the northern keys (must have a car) but don't want to do the whole all inclusive thing. Virginia will make you feel like a part of the family and community (it seems like a lot of the town hangs out here), she'll give you all the information you need about accessing beaches and the breakfast and dinner are great. The place is definitely quirky and at times feels like an antique shop, but we had a blast!

    Irina2017-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • Virgina was an amazing host. The best food of our trip came at the hands of a concinero named Alex, who cooked us lobster, crab, shrimp and shredded pork. All of which was served alongside rice, fried Yuka and a beautifully prepared salad. Virgina's family was incredibly kind to us and we brought in New Years together with champagne as we watched a barrage of fireworks. Her home is a perfect alternative to the all inclusive a with just a 40 minute drive to the beaches. On our last day, our arranged ride back to Havana fell through. With no means to access the internet or contact anyone via phone ourselves, Virgina spent an hour searching for an alternative and came through in our time of need. I would highly recommend a stay with Virgina, she is a fair, and incredibly positive person. Our family will always be incredibly thankful ¡muchisma gracias

  • Virginia is the best host you can ever have !!! Virginia for ever ❤❤❤❤❤

    Charlotte2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • 8 Americans in Cuba We stayed at Virginia's house for 3 days (December 27-Decemb(PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)), and experienced nothing but kindness, above and beyond hospitality, and some of the finest dining Cuba has to offer – buffet style! The rooms were small, but big enough for 2 people to share with a tv, refrigerator and a/c. The shared bathroom was a good size. The house itself is a really nice size where you can walk around, sit in the dining room area, or relax in the garden-like backyard and enjoy a drink, a coffee, or a cigar. The chef on the premises is not only exquisite, but one of the sweetest and unbelievably humble men we have ever had the pleasure of meeting. The chef also became our local guide and often led us to our destinations on a daily basis. The house presents a family-like atmosphere where you are welcome and made to feel at ease about asking for pretty much anything. Virginia was very accommodating with supplies needed, as well as providing maps/directions to destinations. I would highly recommend staying at Virginia's estate, and plan on staying with Virginia again upon my return to Cuba. If you want a great Cuban experience, stay with Virginia. You'll enjoy this stay. Remember it's Cuba so you have to prep yourself.

Our hostal is built in colonial style, almost 100 years ago. It has a big internal yard and a huge terrace. Almost located in the center of Caibarién, but the rooms are very quiet, ideally for a relaxing holiday. The "Malecón" is in a distance of about 150 meters and a secure car park is nearby, only 100 meters.
We have an internal dining room, but you can also enjoy your meals outsinde in the yard or on the terrace.
  • Staying here was like staying with family. Ale and Elvira made every effort to ensure that our time with them was comfortable. • When traveling through Yaguajay there currently are not a lot of accommodation options. I was very happy when I came across the name Hostal La Terraza. At the time I was looking and trying to decide if I should book a room, there was only one review, however it was very positive. Our room was a good size and contained both a double and single bed. In addition there was a private bathroom. Jose Luis and Idalmis were very friendly and helpful. When we missed seeing a part of the Camilo Cienfuegos Monument, Jose Luis called the director and we returned the next day and were treated to a guided tour. And while we did not take advantage of the opportunity to go on an excursion into the countryside, they do exist and can be arranged. We ate our meals at the Casa and can say without reservation that Idalmis is a very good cook. Overall, I would highly recommend Hostal La Teraza to anyone traveling on the northern route and passing through Yaguajay.

  • The perfet casa! Luis (Pepe) is a friendly, welcoming, and helpful as anyone could want! He picked us up from an adjacant town and arranged any activities we wanted to do. The room is lovely and very clean. This a REAL Cuba. The town is quite rural, close a number of natural attractions and beaches. I think we were the only tourists there in a long time! Unlike the highly-trafficked tourist casas in Trinidad or Havana, here you will really get a sense of Cuban life. We got to know his whole family. Our time with them (over Christmas) was probably the highlight of our trip (which covered quite a bit of the country). VERY highly recommended!

Located in a picturesque small village of Fishermen, cozy double room with antique furniture and air conditioning.
  • We enjoyed so much our stay in the casa: its swimming pool unique in the village, its beautiful view to the sea, delicious breakfasts outside. The house is very comfortable, but attention if you don't have the suite room, it is possible that you share the bathroom with other room. It happened to us, but we didn't meet any problem. Especially we would like to say that Barby, the woman who is in charge of the house, was so kind and helped us a lot, for our next step of the journey and our stay in the village.

  • The location of the house wasn't what we had expected, since the photos posted along with the listing show white, sandy beaches. Also, since the name of the place is "Beachfront" that lead us to believe the house was a *beachfront* property. A better name would be swamp front or lagoon front, as there is no beach within walking distance. The house itself is lovely and new construction, and is 3 bedrooms/2 bathrooms. The kitchen is large and clean, and there is a nice living room. Oddly, the kitchen lacks a refrigerator so you have to ask for one of the bedrooms to be left unlocked if you want to store any water /drinks in the fridge. One challenge with the house is that it's hard to escape the heat. We were not comfortable sitting in the living room with no fan, and the house lacks air conditioning. So unfortunately, we were relegated to the bedroom as the only comfortable place (it had the one and only ceiling fan) if we wanted to avoid the mosquitoes outside. Since there wasn't a beach, going for a swim wasn't an option. There is a pool under construction, so perhaps in the future that will give guests an option to cool off. The breakfast we had was amazing - delicious and filling, and a beautiful variety of fruits and breads. The team at the house was incredibly kind and helpful, and made our stay there comfortable. There is one restaurant within walking which was very good with excellent food and service.
