A lovely double room overlooking woods half a mile from the centre of the market town of Holmfirth. English breakfast included and access to a private lounge with woodburner and door straight out into the garden.
This is a cosy double room with a wooden floor and original cast iron fireplace dating back to the 1880s. The window overlooks the garden, woods and stream beyond and still has the original wooden shutters. The room is quiet and dark at night (no ambient street light). There are old wooden beams, one of which is carved by local artist Mick Kirkby Geddes. Antique, but comfortable double bed with feather topper, chair, chest of drawers, wardrobe and dressing table. The room is part of our house so you will be sharing the main house bathroom, which includes a bath and drencher shower. (We do have other toilet facilities downstairs if there is a logjam!)
Holmfirth is a small market town, tucked into the foothills of the Pennines and about 5 miles from the centre of Huddersfield. The town is well known as the location for the popular TV series ‘Last of the Summer Wine’ and visitors take advantage of the classic Summer Wine tours around the area in a vintage bus. There are many excellent restaurants in Holmfirth (Indian, tapas, Italian, French) and the fabulous Picturedrome (www.picturedrome.net) – home to a range of concerts and tribute bands. Throughout the year there are many festivals - including Holmfirth Festival of Folk (early May); Holmfirth Film Festival (late May); Holmfirth Arts Festival (mid-June); Holmfirth Artweek (early July) and the Festival of Food in September. We are also 30 minutes drive from the award winning Yorkshire Sculpture Park ( www.ysp.co.uk) and 40 minutes from the Hepworth Gallery in Wakefield (www.hepworthwakefield.org). The walking is varied and beautiful and it is possible to walk out of the door of our house and straight up into the hills.
  • Lovely stay, you won’t find better for the price.

  • I couldn’t ask for friendlier hosts. In my short stay I was made to feel very welcome and had everything I needed. The house is a very short walk to all the local amenities, and the view from my bedroom is lovely and peaceful.

  • We really enjoyed our short stay at Andy’s place! The house was well-located, the room comfortable and the breakfast lovely. Andy and Sally were very helpful and hospitable from beginning to end, even kindly letting us leave our bags in the house the next day so we could do some more walking. Thank you!

    Olivia2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Andys place is lovely.. Great couple and a very warm welcome and great for visiting Holmfirth as just a short walk down to town. Cosy room is very very comfortable, so comfortable that we overslept for breakfast!! It didn’t matter as nothing was too much trouble and breakfast was resurrected!! Thanks Andy and Sally x

Situated at the very centre of the UK in Pennine Yorkshire, this stylish Victorian property is set in beautiful private grounds adjacent to a wood which is home to two Tawny Owls, a family of hedgehogs, a colony of bats and even the odd woodpecker. Yet with access to the M1 just a mile away and York, Leeds, Sheffield and Manchester less than 50 minutes away, this is a great place to stay and explore or simply to use as a stopover; halfway between London and Scotland or for visitors to Oakwell.
Beautiful Victorian rooms including this attic suite with double bed and a separate single annex. For larger groups we have a selection of other rooms too so please enquire.
A very quiet rural space at the edge of Barnsley in Pennine Yorkshire, with the town centre and railway station just 10 minutes walk and the football ground 20 minutes walk. Located within metres of the Trans-Pennine Trail the location offers fabulous opportunities to cycle or walk. For motorists there is free off-road parking and the M1 motorway is 1 mile away, providing an exceptional gateway to Yorkshire; both the rural beauty spots and the urban centres of Leeds, Sheffield, Wakefield and York
  • Great host. Nice stylish and spacious house and room

    Joseph2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • I returned here again after a great stay previously. It was the first time I met Phil as they were away previously but their hospitality was as fabulous as cohost Jo. They were flexible with check in to accommodate my needs, super at communication and keeping in touch, even checking i’d managed a meal at meal. The house is large but homely and despite being alone on both stays now I felt safe and secure. Bed comfortable and shower amazing. It’s a perfect stay for anyone working at the hospital. Close enough to not feel you waste time commuting but far enough to feel you left for the night ....

    Katrina2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • It's a huge house. I had the place to myself. Individual rooms have locks to lock yourself in. It's basic, but this has to be reflected in the price and this was very cheap.

    Mark2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Pam and Phil were both so friendly. Phil had really thought of the special touches, having his own made jam and some eggs for me to have on toast. He also had some local tip such as places to eat and the best way to get to my interview. They even put me in a better room as it was available. Would love to stay again.

    Emilie2019-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • Phil and Pam were the perfect hosts, accommodating us and going above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and catered for. The house is spotless, comfortable and the garden and little wood it sits in are just lovely. There are even hedgehogs. Phil’s homemade jam was a particular highlight! Would highly recommend, especially as a stop over en route from London Scotland as we did. Thanks again Phil and Pam for a lovely stay

    Sarah And Joe2018-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Pam and Phil are lovely hosts. I felt like part of the family rather than a guest. Great location very near to the hospital where I was working and to Town, but surrounded by woodland it feels like the countryside.

  • 5 STAR! I had a short stay with jo for work purposes but it was such a fantastic stay! Her place is beautiful and it has so much history. Jo was so accommodating and had great communication, very family feel about it. Lovely little touches on the room that I didn’t expect and all for a brilliant price. 100% recommend! Thank you so much :) xxxx

  • Superb , all round . Really clean comfortable room . Fantastic value .

    Andrew2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • I would warmly recommend staying at Jo’s place! My room was clean, they changed my sheets regurarily. Jo washed my clothes and she even picked me up from the train station and Steve drove me back to the station and waited for my train to arrive! As you can tell, they are both so nice! You will definitely have a great time! There is also a bus station 2 min from Heath House (bus 127).

    Lorena2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Jo is a lovely lady - very welcoming and helpful. Room was spotlessly clean, always warm and bed very comfortable. Can’t fault anything

I live close to both train and bus stops. The train runs twice an hour and is 6 mins to Meadowhall 12 to Sheffield. The bus runs every 10 mins and takes about 30 mins. I am 10 mins from Motorway. The room is a guestroom. I am retired. Access to my property is down the side of number 4. I am near Asda .There are several places to eat 5 mins walk away. Tankersley Manor Hotel There parking on the street and I have WIFI
My place is a stone cottage slightly hidden. My main entrance is around the back. The cottage is small but comfortable.
The neighbourhood is quiet with lots of places to eat. There is a large Asda for any shopping. Sussex Road is a small Road and is used as a through fare at peak times but there is usually plenty of car parking available.
  • Lovely host and the place to stay !

  • Ann's home is cosy, warm and just whats needed when travelling as much as I do. Ann is chatty and friendly and by the end of a lovely evening I slept superbly, which is rarely the case. The facilities in the home are excellent, spotlessly clean and comfy. I would definitely stay again.

Lovely family room with private en-suite that provides ideal accommodation for 2 adults and two children (on the exciting mezzanine level accessed by steps!!) With lovely woodland adjacent to the property yet all local amenities just minutes away, this is a perfect countryside oasis in an urban setting.
Guests are welcome to use the Lounge and the Snooker Room, as well as the fully equipped kitchen where meals can be prepared and eaten in the dining room. The gardens and woodland are home to squirrels, hedgehogs, bats and woodpeckers and are a lovely setting for young families to explore.
Our home is just 5 minutes walk from the hospital (ideal for medical practitioners), and is 10 minutes walk from the town centre, railway station and Interchange. It’s a lovely rural oasis in the middle of an urban setting just 1 mile from Junction 37 of the M1, with free off road parking and electric gates.

  • We found Heath’s place so comfortable and relaxing. It was just what we needed when all around was in turmoil. Highly recommended. We really want to go back soon.

  • The most charming house in a picturesque location!

    Chris2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is quirky with lots of character and history in a beautiful location. I had a wonderful stay here. Heath is fantastic and very helpful, I’d highly recommend this cottage

  • Heath was a fantastic host! From the moment of booking we were contacted within the hour with details of checking in and directions etc. Heath kept in contact each step of the way, this was our first airbnb stay, so didn't know what to expect, but Heath pulled out all the stops to make our night away a pleasure. The cottage is a little hidden gem and ultra cosy! We had just the one nights stay and felt like it was a home away from home, everything clean and sparkling. We specifically loved the artwork throughout the house, along with an array of books and games that kept us entertained on a dark winters night. Everything was perfect, a testament to a good host. We hope to stay again in the future! Ashley and Katie

  • What a find. A very quirky, rustic place of tranquility. A very warm and cosy place in spite of the wind and some rain. Everything you need ( in fact more than enough Dvds, games and books ) . Some great walks locally and 2 great pubs. I ate at the Red Lion which was cosy, friendly and good pub food.

    Jan2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to stay and Heath is a brilliant host, with excellent local knowledge. We loved our stay here and would love to come back again

    Mark2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Only had one night at heaths but I loved it! The cottage is full of interesting bits and pieces. Lots of interesting books to browse and a well equipped kitchen. Heath is only round the corner for any questions and you might be lucky and get his cat as a visitor! The place is so quaint and charming. There is a pub literally down the lane but I did not get chance to check it out. If you like a walk/run I did a great 10k loop round digley reservoir which is only 10mins drive away. I will definitely be back with more time to explore.

    Sam2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • An amazingly quirky place to stay. From the decor to the animals, Heath's property is quite an experience. He's exceedingly helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Could have easily spent weeks here with how much there is to do in the surrounding area. Holmfirth is full of great food, views, and experiences. Not a dull moment here! Thanks for a great stay, we'll have to come back soon!

*Flexible cancellation recently added to prevent spread of Coronavirus. Property professionally deep cleaned before and after every booking* Beautiful cottage situated in Thurlstone, near Holmfirth/Sheffield/Peak District. Great for walks/cycling. Swedish Massage/Reflexology available to book. Ideal for a relaxing break. No TV channels but loads of DVD's, books, WIFI, Echo Dot. Chromecast/HDMI to run apps such as iPlayer/Netflix through your device. 5 min walk to pub, 1 to bakery.
It's one of the smallest dwellings in Thurlstone, which isn't a bad thing as it's just perfect for 1-3 guests and easy to keep warm and cosy. A quiet little under-dwelling with loads of character and a pretty, rural view. The building is listed, built in 1840, plenty of roadside parking.
Thurlstone is a quiet country town with a pub, free roadside parking, a small shop and lots of walks. Penistone is a market town and just 20 minutes away by foot. The award winning Huntsman Pub is a short stroll away, it's very popular with real ale drinkers and does amazing Sunday dinners and homemade pies. The new Fox Valley Mall is located nearby, it has plenty of shops and various restaurants. 10 minute drive. Also a 15 minute walk from the house is an Italian restaurant based in an old blacksmith forge (Tiamo) I think it is very good, fairly expensive (but quality) specials and reasonably priced pizza and pasta with 241 on Sundays and Tuesdays. Across the road from this is an Indian restaurant, very tasty food and reasonable prices (Taste of India). The White Hart is a highly rated pub/wine bar situated between and also does food. The Trans Pennines trail (five mins from my cottage) is perfect for biking and walking. You can rent bikes on the trail, half a day for £18. Or you can rent my city bike, helmet and lock for £10 a day. Langsett Resevoir is a very picturesque walk with a pub and cafe at its base, it's a 40 minute walk to get there, or five minute drive (recommended) Cannon Hall and Cawthorne Park is a ten minute drive away. Recommended!! The Yorkshire Sculpture Park is also close for drivers.
  • Stayed here for 2 nights and absolutely loved it. Had a lovely walk around Langsett reservoir, couldn’t explore too much due to the Coronavirus outbreak but couldn’t have been in a better place with the cottage having such a good selection of books, records, cd’s, DVD’s, a radio and an Alexa. We also took a laptop to watch Netflix so we were kept well entertained. Also has a great little kitchen, bathroom and very comfortable bed. Would definitely stay again. 10/10 :)

    Haydn2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay. Everything was easy to find and clean. It was quiet, beautifully decorated and the bed was very comfy!

    Valentina2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place was perfectly clean and excellently maintained. The location was great and we felt surrounded by nature but still had amenities. A lovely cosey hideaway.

    David2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place with a gorgeous cottage feel and arty decor. We had everything we needed and were well set up for cooking our meals there. The bed was very comfortable and finishing the trip with a lovely Swedish massage from our host Kirsty was fantastic. She was very friendly and accommodating and great with communication. Highly recommend!

  • Wonderful place to stay, very relaxing And clean. Everything was easy. Thank you

    Helen2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Kirsty's cosy cottage is a little gem of a find! We loved the fact it didn't have television - not really a fan of television anyway but you can connect the HDMI cable that's provided if you want to watch stuff. Loved that you can spend time here and connect with one another (quite literally!) we played connect 4! We played some other games, we read interesting books, there's a huge array of books all very interesting (Sheffield Gang Wars amongst others) The pictures on the wall - all make an interesting discussion. I love how the place has been decorated. Thoughtful touches - breakfast in the fridge, thoughtful handwritten (I LOVE handwritten stuff being a writer myself) messages everywhere, the tree of positivity, the map of shipwrecks in the bathroom. As soon as you walk in, the vibe is positive and relaxed. There's an Alexa which we've never used before and found that quite hilarious - you can ask for a daily trivia quiz which we did and a nightly music quiz. There's a friendly and welcoming pub 5 minutes up the road that serves great ales and nice food - a pub the way it should be! Really good value for money. Last but not least!! Kirsty, as a host, is lovely and welcoming. I booked a full Swedish massage with reflexology an hour and a half and it was excellent value for money and pure relaxation (and included a foot spa!) I highly recommend having one of the treatments if you stay here. We will be back :D

  • Cute space in a good location with easy parking and easy access to a supermarket. Had all the amenities. Check in was easy. Def recommend.

    Gimo2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Kirsty's place was a beautiful cosy cottage to explore this part of the world. The village and surrounding area are very picturesque with lots of beautiful landscapes, pubs and walks to explore. Highly recommended.

  • Host is so welcoming, friendly and helpful eg taxi to venue. Louise showed us where to help ourselves to warm drinks in the kitchen and where to eat that evening - bath towels huge and fluffy - bedroom was quirky which I liked - and bathroom had a lovely big bath but we only stayed one night and shower fine. Loved the Temple Spa products ! Bed so so comfy too. A great find. Thanks again.

Our cosy little cottage is located in the tranquil village of Hepworth, on the edge of the Peak District and perfect for those wanting to take a break in the countryside. Surrounded by great views, scenic walks and many biking trails. Close to the pretty town of Holmfirth, more famously known for last of the summer wine and packed with a large variety of wine bars, pubs and good restaurants. The cottage is ideal for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers and biking/hiking enthusiasts.
Stonewell cottage has a private garden at the front with wonderful views. There is s cosy living area with a log burning stove and an adjoining fully equipped kitchen. On the first floor is a bright double bedroom with a fabulous en suite and large walk-in shower. The cottage is completely private but attached to our family home so we are never too far away if you need help with anything.
Village shop a short walk away for basic provisions. Walking distance to several country pubs. Two miles from Holmfirth centre, home to many bars and restaurants, as well as the popular Picturedrome venue which attracts an array of musical and sporting events. For those wanting to venture further afield - Manchester, Leeds and Sheffield are all within 50 minutes drive of the cottage.
  • Fantastic stay, wonderful little cottage. Would definitely recommend!

  • I can’t recommend this house enough. It was one of the best Stay ever. The house is super clean and very cosy. It has everything you need for a perfect stay. The indoor fire place is so nice that we didn’t want to leave the house. It’s in a very quiet area, but there are some local pubs nearby and it’s not far from a lot of attractions. It’s a very safe place to stay. Alexes and Jonathan are perfect hosts and very friendly. I definitely recommend this place.

    Inna2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is very comfortable, well thought out with many thoughtful little touches. We enjoyed a two night stay and felt so at ease here. Eating one night in Holmfirth and the other delicious fish and chips from scholes in the cottage. It was a relaxing time and would certainly recommend. Very comfortable bed and a beautiful view when pulling back the curtains in the mornings! Absolutely fabulous!

    Rosie2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cosy little cottage with a fantastic wood burning stove. Very comfy bed and an amazing bath room! Lovely little touches include DVD's, Sky, umbrellas and shampoo and conditioner. The hosts even left us milk so we could have a cupper when we arrived.

    Vickie2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Really nice place to stay not a long drive to amazing walks in the Peak District and a few great pubs in walking distance from the cottage

    James2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice cottage in a super location.

    Steve2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is beautiful and the local town has a lot of restaurants and bars around. There are a few car parks in town so no need to be too careful about taking the car. If you are a dog owner, you will love that there are a lot of pubs and cafes that allow dogs inside. Not all, just a word of warning before you walk in. Our favourite pub (Butchers Arms) which is literally five minutes walk up the hill will allow dogs and has fireplaces to give that cosy feel. We were very lucky to be allowed to check in early and we were greeted by Alexes the owner. We are appreciative that they were accommodating to the last detail. The fireplace was ready for use and there was milk, shortbread, and two beers in the fridge. Unlike most hosts, they will allow you to get settled and leave you to enjoy your holiday to you despite living next door. If you are looking for a place to stay, my fiance and I would very much recommend here. We look forward to returning as soon as possible.

  • I stayed here for a month whilst I was working in Sheffield and can say it’s been the best experience I’ve had so far with air bnb. Malcolm and Pauline were incredibly welcoming and left me to do as I wanted for the stay. The place is stunning, spotless with all the amenities you’ll need for a stay of any length. As mentioned in another review, it’s actually a fair bit bigger than it looks in the pictures. There’s a lot of space. As a keen cyclist there was plenty of room to leave my bikes securely in the garage below the flat and you’re just a few minutes away from some truly epic climbs. The scenery is spectacular and I completely fell in love with the view from the flat (sitting in the warmth with a cuppa looking out at the snow over the hills is incredibly satisfying). Very sad to leave but very much looking forward to coming back in a few weeks time for another visit.

    William2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • This lovely little (actually bigger than expected) setup is located in a quiet area with an amazing view. Having a full studio flat setup makes you feel like you can stay in and be comfortable or go out - either way you use it will definitely be a winner. Really clean and everything you will need is already waiting for you (including milk in the fridge!)

A kettle, cafetiere, tea pot and cups plus fresh coffee and a range of teas are provided in your room; these offer that bit of early morning comfort in bed without moving very far. Home baked biscuits or cake are left for you to enjoy each day. This room is also full of original art work, much of which has been painted in one of the studios we have in the cottage and which we can make available to guests if they want to use them. Breakfast can be served in the dining room overlooking the conservatory and beautiful gardens, or made available in the kitchen or your room if you prefer. Breakfast time is flexible between 7.30am and 9.15am and we offer a menu from which to choose. Please inform us if you have special dietary needs in advance and we’ll do our best to accommodate them. If you prefer something else, we can also offer that by prior arrangement the night before. Our gardens have been lushly planted for year-round interest and are lauded by many people. There are a number of areas in which to sit and enjoy a view. A heated summer house in the garden provides a lovely place to sit. The garlands of small lights inside and around the trees outside create a magical atmosphere. Smoking is allowed in the gardens but we ask that you dispose of the remains carefully outside in the bins. Although on a very quiet lane, there are many good places to eat and drink within walking distance. There are supermarkets just a short distance away and a very good bus service runs along the main road which is about a 3 minutes walk from the cottage. For those wanting a good, freshly prepared and home cooked meal in the early evening, we can offer a two course supper by prior arrangement and a small contribution per adult meal. Children aged 6 and under will be offered a modified version of the menu and there is no extra cost involved if their parent has booked a meal. Most diets catered for, eg. vegan, coeliac. All our bread, cakes, biscuits, preserves and meals are home made by Jan using fresh ingredients.
Newmillerdam is a small village on the outskirts of Wakefield but within easy access of major northern cities such as Leeds, Sheffield, York and Manchester. Newmillerdam Country park and lake is a place of outstanding natural beauty with plenty of walks. There are three very good pubs/restaurants within easy walking distance and an excellent Italian restaurant. Newmillerdam is seen as a prestigious village in which to live. Amity Cottage is on a very quiet, unadopted lane across from the Country Park and with open fields to the side. For parents travelling with a child, there is the Country Park Gnome Trail and we can even provide the bird seed with which to feed the many ducks and swans on the lake.
  • we had the most wonderful stay with Ted and Jan! their home is full of art, they have many stories to share and take so much care over their guests. breakfast was delicious as well as all the other surprise snacks/baked goods left out for us. the room is so cosy and warm with bedding to sink into. The house is extremely well located and easy to find as we came to visit the yorkshire sculpture park and hepworth gallery- both of which were a very quick drive away. we could not have asked for a more lovely time and would definatley stay again. bigges thanks to you both.

  • This is a gem of a place. Ted & Jan are charming, talented and give a really warm welcome. Delightful

    Dominica2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely find, such a welcoming couple you feel just at home. Complete contrast to a Travelodge, soulless and uninspiring, here you’ll receive a warm welcome. Cosy fire, comfy living room, tea and biscuits on arrival, great conversation and good company. I also enjoyed a lovely evening meal with the hosts which was very tasty and super value and so much better than wandering out alone to eat. They couldn’t do enough, even popping out to find me decaf coffee for breakfast! Thoroughly recommend.

    Sue2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Ted and Jan are wonderful hosts and I would highly recommend staying here. They both make you feel at home instantly with such a warm welcome and by adding wonderful thoughtful touches to the accommodation. A big thank you to you both for making our stay memorable and for going over and beyond with your hospitality and kindness. We both throughly enjoyed your company and chatting away all evening. Thank you for everything Pardip and Jamie.

  • You will get a very warm welcome from Jan and Ted: they are very generous and work so hard to provide fantastic hospitality for their guests.

    Roger2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great hospitality, very generous hosts, fabulous meals, nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed our stay very much, and had a lot of laughs!

    Roger2019-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • Ted and Jan went out of the way to make us feel comfortable. We had purchased a beautiful dinner that Jan prepared and the breakfast was exceptional - Smoked salmon and scrambled eggs at no extra cost! Fresh flowers, proper tablecloths! The best AirBNB for food that we have ever been to. We recommend Ted and Jan's place to anyone who enjoy stimulating conversation and beautiful food! Thanks again!

    Jillian2019-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • The best airbnb we've stayed at. Ted and Jan are outstanding hosts and went out of their way to make us feel at home. They also cooked us a lovely vegetarian supper for a small additional charge. The breakfast was excellent (and is included) - home made porridge, preserves, bread and fresh fruit chosen from their menu.

Enjoy a relaxing break in the countryside. Our beautiful old farmhouse is nestled in the gateway to the Peak District and set into rolling hills of green. We extend a warm, Yorkshire welcome to all our guests and invite you to explore the beautiful surroundings Our place is particularly popular for tourists who want to hike and cycle as not only are there many scenic walks in the area, but we are also on one of the 'Tour de Yorkshire' routes. There are a number of fantastic places to eat nearby
Our place is an old farmhouse, full of character and warmth (think low ceilings, wood beams and a cosy wood burning fire - in winter at least), set on a small working farm in peaceful and breathtaking surroundings (no noisy tractors at 6am). Although most of the farm is out of bounds (for safety reasons), if we are available, we are happy to organise 'meet and greet' with our chicks and chickens and take guests on guided tours around the little farm yard.
Bradfield (a few minutes from our place) is a picturesque little village in South Yorkshire (approx 20 minutes from Sheffield), tucked away in the green hills of the Peak District. You can watch cricket and bowls on the village green, relax on a bench with the ducks by the river, enjoy a waterside walk around one of the many local reservoirs, and enjoy local home cooked food at one of the local pubs or tearooms (walking distance from the village centre). Within 5/10 minutes drive there are two garden centres (food/ drinks served here too), and a lovely rural ice cream parlour, as well as a number of other country pubs that serve food and drink in lovely surroundings. There is also a local brewery that is worth a visit for those who appreciate fine ale. We love living here because it is calm and peaceful, set in beautiful surroundings. We are sure you will love it too and, whilst we cant guarantee the Yorkshire weather, we aim for our guests to have an enjoyable stay.
  • Very friendly and welcoming host. Lovely, cosy cottage in a beautiful location. Eve was very helpful.

    Aidan2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • I was looking for peace and tranquility and that’s exactly what I got. On arrival I was able to park up and go walking. Eve greeted me after eight miles of rain and snow and took my wet gear and dried it for me. My room was very comfortable and the roaring fire warmed me up. I slept soundly and was left to my own devices despite being offered the opportunity to use the main living room and television. Breakfast was a lovely complementary touch and I used the time to do some work while being watched by some sheep. I can totally recommend staying with Eve and Elliot.

    Ed2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Eve and Elliot's place is a wonderful, traditional and grade listed farm cottage, isolated enough to feel really quiet and peaceful, but near enough to local towns that you don't miss out on any amenities. At the time of writing, the photos on the advert probably undersell how truly fantastic a stay it really is. However, the real magic here comes from Eve and Elliot, who provide a very warm welcome, like to know their guests personally and take care of every detail, going well beyond the call go ensure their guests are happy and comfortable. The inside knowledge (walks, pubs etc.) of the local area is super valuable to outsiders, and the breakfast is top! Highly recommend!

    James2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Cosy stay in farmhouss a little off the beaten track but close to Sheffield and some lovely villages. Eve and Elliot were very friendly and welcoming and we would def stay again. Thank you x

    Jane2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Eve and Eliott were extremely nice, gave us a lot of great food and hiking recommendations. Place was sparkling clean, continental breakfast was included. We definitely recommend this place :)

    Sandra2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful view from the room, quite a rustic place and fantastic host! Maybe a bit hard to find the place in the dark 😂

    Cristian2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great hosts, lots of local information and tips sent both before and during our stay. Very accommodating, moved breakfast times around for us as required and made us very welcome. Would definitely recommend staying there and we look forward to doing so again at some point!

    Alice2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Eve and Elliot’s home is beautiful, and is located in a stunning, tranquil corner of the Peaks. Their attention to detail was outstanding - from providing slippers for us and a delicious breakfast, to giving us excellent, detailed directions to their home and wonderful local recommendations. They were so friendly and made us feel instantly at home. It was such a joy to be able to explore the gorgeous surroundings from their home as a base (the local reservoir is a lovely walk, as well as walks in the Hope Valley being easily accessible), and we loved the stunning views from our bedroom window! We would recommend them highly. A spotless, gorgeous home, and lovely, helpful hosts. Thanks for a great trip!

  • Pam & Phil’s accommodation was fantastic, from the moment I booked it Phil was in touch regarding my stay. Up on arrival I was greeted by Phil who showed me around the property, THEY EVEN OFFERED ME MY TEA! My room was fantastic for the price, extremely comfy bed, FANTASTIC SHOWER and second to none hospitality. I would a billion percent recommend this property to anybody, and I shall be visiting again.

  • Unique retreat, great surroundings - just a 20 minute walk to Yorkshire Sculpture Park. We had a very relaxed stay, kitchen was well stocked and having Netflix was a great addition for a cosy night in.

    Adele2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place to stay or retreat. A real calm place... lovingly furnished and with everyone one could ever possibly need! We stayed for a family break but it would be the perfect place for a quiet weekend away or retreat.

    Emma2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Idyllic indeed. With lovely hosts and a grand building. A perfect quiet weekend getaway to ramble around Yorkshire and do things at an easy pace.

    Nabeel2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is an AMAZING property beautifully located and just great place to have down time. Some lovely walks, the bed is super comfy even equipped with electric blanket! Tina & Jasper are always at hand to answer any questions that you have too. There was lots of nice touches, with fruit left, yogurts, cereal for us to eat. The stain glassed window above the bed is a wow factor and when the sun shines through ..make sure you have your camera on the ready! We enjoyed it very much, we visited the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, walked to the pub & back for nice Sunday dinner. We also went to the Thai restaurant in Shafton, nothing to look at from the outside, plus you have to walk through the pub to get to the restaurant but wow the flavours were amazing ( the lady chef used to cook for the Prince apparently in Thailand ) Really pleased we got the chance to stay at this place, a little different then your average weekend away! Thank you 🙏🏽

    Srabani2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Christina and Jasper were kind, generous and attentive hosts. Just the right amount of attention. There as and when you needed them. The accomodation was quirky, comfortable and had everything you needed and more. Location was fantastic with loads of local attractions nearby or rural walks if that's your preference. Was exactly as you see in the photos. I would recommend it.

    Rebecca2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • A really unique place. Perched at the top of the Yorkshire hills, we were perfectly placed for the Yorkshire Sculpture Park in an incredible converted room, unlike anything I've previously stayed in. The hosts Christina and Jasper were fantastic from start to finish. One of our best and most interesting experiences on airbnb, wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

    Seb2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing weekend staying at the church. The place is ideally located in a beautiful town. Jasper and Tina are always helpful with recommendations around the town. Highly recommended.

  • My dogs and I travelled all the way from Devon to stay at Philip and Emma's place. It was sparkling clean when we arrived and very warm too. The property was easy to find using a sat nav. The parking facilities are great too - this property offers off road private parking. The area was lovely - clean and friendly and there was a field opposite, suitable for walking my dogs in. The kitchen was well equipped. The towels were large and fluffy and the bedroom was very comfortable. I would definitely recommend a stay here and intend to visit again soon.

Parking outside the property is safe (No Guarantees, obviously!). You would have use of the large, gas barbecue too. Large bright double bedroom in family home recently fully renovated to a very high standard in a very desirable area of Hillsborough with excellent access to public transport. Guests will have mainly sole use of the modern bathroom with a large walk in shower. Shared use of newly modernised large open plan kitchen dining room, comfortable living room and garden. The room has a lock for privacy.
Hillsborough is a lovely friendly place to live and visit. With a very short walk to the shops and transport links to Meadowhall, city centre with lots of shopping, theatres, restaurants, pubs and the train station. There are lots of really great local pubs most of which serve food. We are close to some pretty spectacular walks locally around Bradford and slightly further a field in the Peak District National Park and into Derbyshire. We are only a few minutes walk to Sheffield Wednesday Football Stadium, Hillsborough Park where the Tramlines Festival is now being held. So all in all a great place to be.
