The Coho Cabin, is located at the old fishing town of Pillar Rock . Each guest has an opportunity to tour the Pillar Rock Cannery, originally established in 1877. Lewis and Clark also camped here and documented they first saw the ocean. Located on the banks of the Columbia River, the cabin has absolutely fantastic views! View and enjoy a beautiful secluded sandy beach, with private access from the cabin. Upstream is a stunning view of historical Pillar Rock.
Krista's family moved to Pillar Rock in 1979 and have loved living here ever since. Our family and friends have spent countless hours working to keep the Cannery from collapsing into the river while caring for this historical piece of property. The area is very rich in local history, Lewis and Clark, York, Sacajawea and the rest of the Corp of Discovery camped here in 1805 and documented in their journals they saw the ocean for the very first time. From your cabin you will enjoy the same stunning views of the Columbia River, the beach and Pillar Rock. You will also view commercial ship traffic as it passes by headed for destinations throughout the world. We share the property with abundant and diverse wildlife. Activities include beach combing, sunbathing, swimming, fishing, hiking. You are welcome to bring your own mountain bikes, wind surf boards and kayaks. Boat launch available for small boats and wave runners. Our sandy beach is great for kids. In the evening we have fire pits to toast marshmallows and view beautiful sunsets. This is truly our paradise and we would like to share it with you!
The Pillar Rock Cannery, Pillar Rock and the Columbia River are our special landmarks. In August of 2017 a lightning storm passed through the area, a lightning bolt struck one of the largest fir trees on the property. You can see the site from your cabin, view the devastation and feel the energy at the "Lightning Tree." In addition to our road and beach, we have a hiking nature trail to explore more of the property.

  • Our cabin stay was absolutely serene and delightful. Super easy self check-in, very clean, and uber-cozy. Kris and John were quick to respond. The farm setting was very serene and peaceful, and we slept very well. It snowed during our visit, and the cabin stayed very warm and snug. Hanging out with the sheep and feeding the pony baby carrots was the cherry on top. We can't wait to visit again in summer when the garden fruits and veggies are in full production.

    Jade2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Had such a cozy time here. Kris and John were amazing hosts, let us explore their property, and even brought us carrots to feed the pony. Helpful and laid-back hosts, can’t wait for next time :)

  • Adorable cabin with cute sheep! What more could you ask for? I loved my weekend here and I couldn’t recommend it enough!

    Abigail2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • I am very grateful for this gem. I was looking for a place close to Portland where I could find some solitude and be out in nature—I got way more than I asked for. The cabin is charming, thoughtful and cozy. The propane wood stove warmed the place quickly and the bathtub was for a great quiet evening activity. There is a great place to sit in the living room area to write or draw and look outside. The kitchen windows face the garden and the field where the sheep’s roam—they are sweet! Very friendly. Kris and John were great hosts and easy to communicate with. They respected privacy and were very helpful. It was sweet to roam the property and take a little hike through the cedar trees. I can’t wait to come back when I need another weekend away from the city.

    Dustin2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • This place was adorable! The cottage has everything you need with thoughtful breakfast touches. The propane fire and clawfoot tub are wonderful to have. The hosts honored privacy but were very available for anything you might need. The sheep and pony were silly and could be heard baa-ing during the day but were quiet at night. Overall, definitely worth the visit!

  • Kris and John's cabin is adorable! They are communicative and helpful. Can't wait to come back.

    Karissa2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • A cozy, relaxed environment at their guest cabin. The sheep are very friendly and the property itself is beautiful and has a trail through western red-cedars and ferns. Kris and John also accommodate to guests who would like to check out Clatskanie and the surrounding area. Hope to be back soon

  • Wonderful view of the river. Lynne is an excellent host. And I liked her dog.

    Bonnie2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! Lynne’s place was truly amazing! A great way to escape busy days and end the night in an oasis. The area is very spacious and clean with a breathtaking view. On top of all that, it is very affordable! Lynne goes out of her way to make the guest feel out home. I can’t say enough great things about the home, Lynne and Auggie. Do not miss a chance to stay here 😊 I will miss Lynne, Auggie and the beautiful home.

    Amber2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Once again Lynne's place I truly believe is the best in the area. The view is amazing and she is too. You will have everything you need and more. Lynne is easy to contact and welcoming. I would definitely recommend her place to others and will stay again :)

    Lena2018-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Once again I can’t emphasize that you will not get a better price around the area for what you will get here. It is a shared home but it doesn’t feel like one at all because you get the entire downstairs to yourself. You will have everything you need here and more:)!

    Lena2018-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Lynne’s place is worth every penny and you will not find a better value here. She is always extremely flexible and respectful. Even when I’m working night shift which means a lot. She makes me coffee every morning and is knowledgeable about the area. Her home is cute and clean. Amazing view and August (dog) is well behaved and sweet as well. Highly recommend!

Our cabin is on a quiet country road. While nestled in the trees, the cabin sits on a bluff and offers amazing views of the Columbia. It is 45 min. from Astoria, and 60 min. from Long Beach and. Sit on the porch and watch river traffic, eagles and deer. Build a fire, in the fireplace, play games or read. It has 2 bedrooms, 1 with a view of the river, and a loft that kids love. The front porch runs the length of the house and has a deep roof, so it can be enjoyed in any weather. Very private
$10 per person after the first 2 does NOT apply to guests 2 yrs. old and under. To be able to share my cabin and the beauty that surrounds it means a lot to me. You will need to bring your own firewood. Most of the places around the cabin are owned by cousins, and are vacation homes. The cabin is rustic, no WIFI and no cable TV. The kitchen is pretty complete. There are extra quilts and comforters. There are a few old pieces that belonged to family members that have meaning for me and I enjoy seeing. I'm not sharing a space, I'm sharing part of my life. So please feel free to have a cozy fire, play some games, watch a movie, sit on the porch and enjoy the view. We provide pancake mix, syrup, jam, a variety of coffees and teas, quick breads, Swiss Miss for breakfast. We also provide sheep milk soap, so good for your skin. Please take home any unused jam, breads and soap. We would also like your feed back, what you liked what you didn't like so please leave a review on airbnb. The cabin is on a well. If you don't like well water, you may want to bring some bottled water.
The cabin is set in the woods, 9 miles off the main road. My cousin Is the closest neighbor. The other 3 homes are vacation homes. The area is very peaceful and beautiful. The view of the river is well worth bringing your camera. The deer come almost every day. We feed them sliced up apples or pears and slices of bread. It is a great place to bird watch. At different times of the year, there are seals in the river. You can see them and hear them barking. I like to sit on the porch with a cup of tea or glass of wine and watch the river. If the fog is heavy, you will hear the fog horns. A walk down the road will often bring you in contact with other neighbors out for a jog or walk. Stop to pick some black berries when in season, you can't beat the taste. Bring your bike and enjoy some great views as you ride the back roads. Or take them to Longbeach and ride the bike trail. Hunters Inn in Naselle is a favorite spot to eat. If you'd like dinner by the water, then The Duck Inn in Skamokawa or Moe's, for seafood in Astoria.
  • We loved the cabin! Felt immediately at home :)

    Eric2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Very calm, cozy and clean place. Kitchen was fully stocked will all we needed. Valerie was very helpful with directions and communication.

    Parneet2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Very private. Amazing view! Porch is serine. Saw 5 deer around dinner time, a few raccoon in the early morning. Multiple barges passed by on the columbia. Bring firewood for the fireplace if you want a fire! Multiple tea varieties, microwave, stove, oven, full fridge. I felt very safe and the place felt like home❤

Puget Island is a beautiful rural location in the middle of the Columbia River. All islands west of us are part of national refuges. There are boat launches on the island and in Cathlamet, used by many fishers. Nearby sloughs and the river itself are used by kayakers who can launch from the beach across from our house. We are bird watchers and the island is part of a yearly bird count each December when the area is full of wintering birds.
  • Carol was very helpful in both getting us to the house, also in helping us find things to do in the area. We had a great time!

    Christin2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This space provided the perfect private little getaway to make for a refreshing vacation. Carol and George paid attention to detail to create a cozy and complete homey space. It lacked for nothing. On top of that, the location was excellent both on Puget Island and with access to the beach and other outdoor activities.

    Mark2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot for a cozy weekend getaway. Carol was very easy to communicate with. We would definitely return again!

  • This micro farm was a great place with our toddler. Carol is a thoughtful and flexible host. We enjoyed it and would stay here again.

  • We gifted my sister and niece with this stay, and they loved their restful and quiet time here. They particularly enjoyed the breakfast (scones, fresh milk, yogurt, and coffee) left for them in the fridge and the comfy, pre-heated above garage apartment upon their arrival. My niece loved venturing out to take photos, and both mentioned that they'd book another stay when they return to the PNW for a visit. Thanks so much!

    J2019-12-22T00:00:00Z

Puget Island is a lovely, serene island in the Lower Columbia River, about 50 miles downstream from Portland, OR and about 25 miles upstream from Astoria, OR. Our closest 'big' town is Longview, WA. Cathlamet is a tiny town, located in tiny Wahkiakum County. The town has a really well stocked grocery store, Tsuga, a lovely art gallery and Scribbles which has hand painted and glazed pottery. We also have a craft brewery (open on the weekends) and a few very basic restaurants. Down the road is the Julia Butler Wildlife preserve which is great for birding and deer watching. In Skamokawa is Redmen Hall with a beautiful interpretive center and gift store. Our claim to fame is we have no stoplights in our county! There is a bridge from Cathlamet to the island and a small ferry from the island to Westport, Oregon.
  • If you think you know the Astoria area then try this adorable little bungalow near the charming town of Cathlamet. This was one of the most comfortable stays we’ve had near the coast in a long time. Cozy touches like homemade bread and jam, extra toiletries, linens, a french press and a fully stocked kitchenette made this a home away from home. For being so dog -friendly you would never guess, the cabin is modern and spotless. Gracious, sincere, and thoughtful hosts made sure our one night stay was worth the trip. Great spot to start out the day’s activities (a mini ferry will shuttle your car to the Oregon side for only $6) or explore the small towns on the Washington side While driving to Astoria or Long Beach. The wildlife was an added bonus between the elk, deer, geese, and dozens of bald eagles nesting along Hwy 4. Do yourself a favor and get off the beaten path and treat yourself to a night or two at Rob and Diane’s place in the woods. -Del and Adriana (Gresham, OR).

  • Second time staying here, this time for the Festival of Dark Arts in Astoria (a dark beer event at Fort George Brewery), and was as great as the first time. I just wish the weather would cooperate, because each time I've not been able to enjoy the well-laid-out wood 'n kindling in the firepit due to rain or snow! Loved the munchies provided (bread, granola, and eggs.. and the smore stuff, of which I took a chocolate bar even though I couldn't do the outdoor fire due to weather). Will once again come again when I can. My doggies love the grounds!

    Craig2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This little bungalow is a dream. So quiet and cozy, a lovely book collection and fun games! The view was beautiful - even though it was pouring while we were there. My daughter loved seeing the geese and our dog loved the wide open space. Diane was a gracious host - openly communicating and providing homemade treats. An absolute delight.

    Alex2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place was amazing! Exactly what was described and more. So cozy and clean. The campfire and smores was a perfect touch to our stay and the homemade food was amazing touches and wonderful treats. Radio and board games provided. My only regret was not allowing for more time at the cabin to just relax. But the quietness of the world and beautiful stars were so romantic! Definitely a wonderful stay and I hope we can come visit again!

    Stephanie2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our time on Puget Island! The place was clean and exactly as advertised. The hosts have included a number of lovely and thoughtful touches to make guests welcome and comfortable. We loved the homemade bread, granola and jelly. They were so satisfying! We enjoyed walking our dog around the property. We hope we'll have the chance to return soon!

    Joan2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay and were impressed with the quality of the retreat -- you can tell that high-end 'stuff' was used throughout versus a bargain remodel/build, for instance: great water pressure, heating that worked well and accurately, quality ceiling fans etc... The grounds were great with loads of space that my dogs enjoyed-- a hidden bonus was the outdoor shower attachment with warm water (behind the 'woofer' bathroom addition to the cottage), that made washing off the dogs after they found something particularly delightful to them (but horrid to us humans) to roll in and get extra stinky!

    Craig2019-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • What a cool unique place! We loved the baked goods and the great advice for things in the area! Diane was very accommodating and warm, would recommend to anyone.

  • As vacation rental owners ourselves we can tend to be a little critical when we stay as a guest. This charming beach house leaves us nothing to be critical about. This place was well described, an amazing waterfront location, very thoughtful touches, and a very comfortable bed. Enjoy a beautiful drive to this gem on the Columbia River and put away the cell phones and relax amidst the wildlife and amazing views.

  • Great place! Great host! Great views! What more could you ask for. Cheryl was a very gracious and kind host. I was visiting on my birthday weekend and she brought me a cupcake! What a thoughtful touch. I felt very at home and was able to enjoy the beauty of the land. Thanks Cheryl! Hope to visit again.

  • This place is amazing. The view is so stunning and soothing. Cheryl is very responsive and considerate. We asked for privacy and she gave us just that. We liked to read out on the deck and take walks on the beach and on the roads. This place had everything you can want/need. The bed was surprisingly comfortable. I usually get back pain from soft beds, but this one supported my chronic pain. Thank you so much Cheryl.

  • Cheryl’s place was absolutely amazing!! Everything we needed was right there. Clean space, dishes, glasses. And the view was insane!! I will definitely be back!

  • We really enjoyed our time here! Mitchell+Maria had given so much thought into this space that we truly felt at home. The shower was lovely, sleeping in the loft under the sky light was amazing -- local tips for restaurants, coffee shops, even a hike! The wifi didn't work the whole time we were there but it was PERFECT for us. If you're looking for somewhere cozy to unwind, unplug, and reflect, this is it! Highly recommended and much appreciated!

  • I loved staying at the tiny house! Y’all did a really great job on design and decoration. The roof window over the bed loft was my favorite. Being able to listen to the rain or look at the stairs really made feel close to nature. Thanks for sharing this magical gem with the world.

  • Seriously just book it, you will not regret it one bit. Did a solo trip and cannot say enough about how amazing of a time I had during my stay. Beautifully decorated space, location is lovely, star gazing through the skylight above the bed, personal touches....I genuinely could go on and on. As soon as I walked in I felt relaxed and as if I was exactly where I was supposed to be. Couldn't ask for more. Thank you Mitchell and Maria!!

  • Cheryl’s tent by the river was amazing. The tent had everything we needed and was built beautifully. It rained pretty hard over night and waking up to the sound of rain and the river flowing was an amazing experience. The cooking shack also had everything we needed, including pans and a griddle and running water. Cheryl was very communicative and hospitable. The only problem we had was the group in the other cabin was pretty rowdy until early morning. But we will definitely come back for another stay!

    Cat2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a cute little shack in front of the water. You can’t access the water but it beautiful. Lots of amenities like a grill, picnic table, seats in front of a fire ring. Awesome little spot.

  • This is an amazing space surrounded by nature. There is a fantastic private beach area with a fire pit that is amazing to watch barges go by or to have a fire. The wooden tent had everything we needed for a comfortable glamping experience. The cook shack had everything we needed plus lots more! Cheryl was very prompt in her communication and had great suggestions for local activities.

  • Columbia River Rest is a piece of heaven. If you are looking for a secluded getaway right next to breathtaking scenery, then this is your place, located right on the beach of the Washington side of the Columbia. Cheryl goes out of her way to be a top-notch hostess, from prompt communication, to nice thoughtful touches like bringing down kindling for the fire, to pleasant conversation, to tips on local places to venture to. I really cannot wait to visit again!

  • Can’t beat this little cabin on the water. For the price it is by far the best air B&B one could possibly hope for. Beautiful location (if it stays clear) and very easy to make the drive out to the coast to have a day. Had everything we needed, can’t go wrong here.

Within two miles of the Cathlamet city center, with the Tsuga Gallery and River Mile 38 Brewery (live music every Sat. 5-8 pm). The Puget Island Farmers Market every Friday from 3-6 pm, with live music. Some public beaches on the island and nearby is the JBH White-tailed Deer Refuge. The house is right on the water. Several nearby launches that we own for paddling. Perfect for individuals, families with well-behaved kids (remember we're right next to a tidal-influenced body of water), and pets.
This beautiful waterfront retreat is the perfect place for a weekend getaway. This two-story charming home offers great views of the water on the wrap-around porch and quiet pastoral views out front. Songbirds are around year-round feeding on the berries and nesting in trees on the property. We operate a creamery about a quarter mile from the house and stock the fridge with fresh butter, cream, and milk as well as fresh-baked breakfast goods for your breakfast.
  • We had a lovely stay here! It was wonderful to find a place we could stay with our toddler and our dog. It was peaceful and relaxing to sit on the deck and watch the river and wildlife. We visited the coast and Astoria and also stayed in and cooked meals, you can do either or both! Perfect!

  • What a gem! I stayed here for a solo trip to get out of the city for a bit. There’s just enough cell reception to be safe but not enough to stay plugged in. The house was very very clean and kitchen was well stocked. The wrap around deck was quaint and peaceful. Beds are comfy, the place is cozy, and Dick is very kind. I could watch the slough all day! I’ll be returning for sure!

    Samantha2019-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • We so enjoyed our stay at Dick's place. It was sparkling clean, well-stocked, and very comfy, and Dick's thoughtful gifts from his creamery were a treat. Right on the water, we saw otters and a host of bird species. It was such a relaxing weekend, and we'd love to come back someday. Thank you, Dick!

    Tesse2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Dick’s place was a wonderful slice of quiet and nature. I don’t think I’ve slept so well in months. The island is charming as well. We also got a nice tour of the dairy with Greta. Highly recommended.

This is a 350sqft craftsmen cabin in the woods with Columbia River views. Includes a loft/ living room with a large pullout Ikea couch/bed. We are located 20 minutes from Longview, WA and 40 miles from Astoria. The space is perfect for individuals who want to get away from city life, gain an inspiration from minimalist living, unwind and just enjoy nature without any distractions.
My husband and I built this cabin by hand. And love sharing our cabin with others. We reside there so therefore there are many of our personal items there. We do have a wood stove please bring your own firewood for it. We have a baby high chair and a changing table, if you are planning to come with little kids please let me know. Our condo has a loft and for safety reasons, we prefer that families with children are extra cautious. Because of sleeping arrangements we can host up to 4 people. Any additional guest is extra. If you are planning to come long term (over a week) please let me know therefore I will provide enough breakfast items and such.
  • Adorable cabin with great views and the perfect amount of cozy. Highly recommend for an individual or a couple looking for a getaway. And be prepared to be loved up by their adorable cat who has no problem being affectionate. :)

  • Absolutely wonderful! It's a perfect little spot.

    Ryan2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • This place was great! Better than expected. The pictures don’t do it justice. There are space heaters so don’t worry about having to get wood for the stove. We had a cozy and unique couple days here! Definitely one of our top Bnb’s. They also have another tiny home on their property that looked SWEET!

    Caleigh2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Overall a good time. The beds are on the firmer side, so be prepared for that, but the space was great. Cozy and peaceful. Got to use the outdoor shower while it was raining out- it was magic. Would come back for sure- especially to see the cats again.

    Emily2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the cabin was great. It was Perfect for a partially-unplugged get away from the city (no tv, wood stove, cozy and nice!) The space was perfectly sized for us, but I could imagine someone tall might have a tough time with the lofted bed. We were shown great hospitality, a very clean space, and we really enjoyed playing with the outdoor cats on the property.

  • This fantastic cottage on the Columbia River provided us with a sanctuary after the long days of attending a workshop in the local area. Jeanine is a wonderful host - great communication, and thoughtful touches around the cottage. We look forward to our next trip to the area so we can stay at the cottage again.

  • Beautiful house, very clean, great yard. Host is very responsive. Will definitely stay again!!!

    Barbara2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • Jeanine’s home went beyond any of our expectations! Tastefully decorated, clean, quiet, fabulous spaces for relaxing, a semi-private beach for swimming and exploring. The nearby farms are great for picking up fresh cheeses, eggs and milk, and the small town of Cathlamet has a sweet little coffee shop with yummy homemade cinnamon rolls (made by a local resident). We can’t wait to go back!

    Cynthia2019-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Such a beautiful oasis. Relaxing on the back porch with a cup of coffee and napping in the hammock was exactly the type of unwinding I needed.

    Katie2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • This house provided such a wonderful place to rest and rejuvenate. We came with our 6 & 8 y/o kids and enjoyed much time on the beach behind the house, playing in the yard and just relaxing inside. We brought a few games and there were some at the house too. We enjoyed the outdoor area as well, eating dinner on the porch and enjoying coffee in the morning. Jeanine was wonderful in her communication and went above and beyond to accommodate us and our family. The neighbor was also incredibly friendly, which always adds to the experience. We can’t wait to visit again!

    Siobhan2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cottage! Was much bigger than we expected. Loved the amazing river views and really enjoyed just hanging out in the backyard watching the birds congregating around one of the many feeders and enjoying the gorgeous weather. Super large covered patio which I'm sure will come in handy in the rainy months. We didn't realize until we took it, that there is a ferry to go over to Oregon every hour which was extremely convenient just to hop over to Astoria and hit up some of their breweries. Had a great time!

  • Our family has had the pleasure of staying here for a second year in a row. It is just the perfect little cabin for our family. Comfortable beds, fun dining area, peaceful atmosphere and wonderful location. My husband and boys love to fish off the dock. There is a bbq and picnic tables and we love to roast marshmallows over the fire pit. Thomas and Helen are wonderful hosts! They are quick to respond and always make sure we get into the house. We hope to come back again next summer!

    Juli2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our visit to Thomas’s place. Being right on the water made all the difference. Ospreys, swallows, kingfishers, and swallows entertained us from morning to night. Bike riding all over the island is so easy and flat. The house has lots of windows so it’s full of light and the view of the water is ever changing. The beds were comfy and the kitchen was large and well-equipped. Lots of outside places to sit and relax. A perfect stay!

    Jody2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely everything and more you could hope for. Clean, comfortable with plenty to do on and around the island. Right on the water with amazing views of the mountains and just as relaxing and peaceful as you could hope for. If you have the opportunity then this location is a must. Cherry on top is the fact that Thomas is a fantastic host and is very interested in your experience being all you had hoped for.

    Ronald2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • This was are second year staying here. As with our first trip. It was amazing. Our granddaughter loved having a bbq for her birthday. On our last night we built a fire outside and made smores. Thomas is always available if you need anything. I always heard back within half a day when setting things up. He also sent me a message last spring when they relisted it for the summer so we could get our wanted dates. From the 6 of us. Thanks for making this trip wonderful. Cliff and Julie. ps, we will be back again soon.

  • My husband and I stayed over Easter weekend. It was a nice little getaway from the traffic, noise, and congestion of Portland. The cabin sits on the side of a small channel on an island in the Columbia. There’s farms and pastures in every direction. In the mornings thousands of geese took to the sky on their yearly migration north and song birds filled the air with their melodies. The cabin is a very peaceful place; great for disconnecting from the daily grind. We spent our mornings and evenings sitting on the dock watching the birds and the water and enjoying the peace and quiet. Also, we were really surprised to find that the town has really good food. Both the Mexican restaurant and the pizza place were very good. We would definitely visit again.

We provide a private beach access where you can spend time, have a beach camp fire, and enjoy viewing the natural wildlife and seeing ships "up close and personal". You also have your own fire pit, lounge and outside eating area, all with a spectacular view!! Watch the deer brouse around your camp and view stars so close you can almost touch them.
There is a communal fire pit on the front lawn, again with spectacular views as well as a private fire . A walking road up the mountain (behind the property), provides deep woods and a seasonal waterfall. The views are incredible!! NOTE: We are 30 minutes from a town for groceries, so stock up on your way.
We are almost to the end of a 11 mile paved road which follows the Columbia River. The neighborhood consists of well spaced out residences with lots of beach views, abundant wildlife and a slower lifestyle. There are walking opportunities along the scenic road and people here are very open and friendly.
  • Such a beautiful setting. We had everything we needed and loved our peaceful stay.

  • We really enjoyed Kathy's place! The views were outstanding! We built a fire on the beach! Definitely recommended for a quiet peaceful get away!

  • This is a great stay. Wonderful for peace and quiet. Have a great relaxing time without giving up amenities and all the work of setting up a campsite. Clean wonderful stay with the help of having eggs, pancake mix and breakfast articles there for us. Worked so well for use. Thank you for a great stay.

  • This is such a lovely spot! We had a day at the beach and a day at Astoria and wished we could have stayed longer. It was fun in the rain and in the sunshine. Kathy is a warm and practical host. Excellent.

    Carie2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Kathy is lovely and brought us eggs and fresh tomatoes from her garden. The apples from her tree are excellent also. The deer hang around at night which is pretty special.

  • Kathy and Fred have a beautiful property and are so generous and kind. Their camper sits perfect so you can sit at the table and watch ships pass. Which was my favorite thing to do in the morning. My husband and I enjoyed their beach property and stayed until way past dark. This a wonderful area and it's so quiet and relaxing. I recommended it to most of my friends. So, I'll recommend it to whoever reads this too :)

Welcome to The Cottage in Cathlamet! We are your hosts, Forrest and Beth, and we are thrilled to offer our little family cottage for your getaway. The Cottage is loaded with quaintness right in the heart of our delightful little river city of Cathlamet. It's the perfect place for your Northwest adventures or for unwinding with a book sitting by our bay window with a river view!
Our cottage is bright and cheerful with a fully outfitted kitchen with everything you will need to enjoy a family meal or a romantic dinner. You have a view of the Columbia River from the living room, master bedroom, and one of the other bedrooms. The master has a comfy king bed with a bath. The two additional bedrooms both have cozy queen beds with a second bath between them. The living room has a warm wood stove to add ambiance to those crisp fall or winter evenings. We even have a washer and dryer for extended stays. There is a 36” TV with an HDMI cord to hook up to your favorite device. We have a small city internet service to stream your favorite movies (about 20G). Don’t worry about finding a parking space at the marina on busy fishing days because we have a spot for you and your boat. The Cottage in Cathlamet is a corner lot with a nice deck off the back door and a 50’ long x 8’ wide parking space in the back yard to back in your boat.
You are two blocks from the picturesque Elochoman Marina next to the Columbia River. Enjoy great fishing, kayaking, or just breathing up the fresh air and letting the cares of this world roll off your back. River Mile 38 microbrewery is one block away from our front porch, and two doors down is some great pizza and sandwiches! Downtown Main Street Cathlamet is about three blocks away. Explore unique galleries, a flower shop, a Mexican restaurant, pharmacy, coffee shop, grocery store, a small museum, and a beautiful park with a pleasant walking trail along the river that loops back to the marina. A mile down the road and across the bridge is Puget Island. The island is a great place to bicycle, beach comb, fish, or picnic. There is a boat ramp and a small public beach to explore. On the other side of the island is the Oscar B Ferry that, for a mere six dollar fee, gives you easy access to Oregon. Whether you use the ferry to drive on the Oregon side or simply drive on the Washington side, you are about an hour from the coast. So use our place as home base for your Northwest adventures. There are so many great trails to hike. The beauty is endless! Don’t be surprised if you see a bald eagle soaring by, a flock of geese or ducks cruising around looking for a field to graze or a vacant spot on the river. This is a bird enthusiast’s paradise. You also might see a herd of elk leisurely munching some lush grasses or some resident deer in the nearby Julia Butler Hansen Columbia White Tail Deer Refuge. Keep your eyes open for river otters zipping by on their way to their next meal. In our area, there are lots of opportunities to have friendly encounters with God’s beautiful creatures. (And the people that live around here are pretty friendly too!) We provide you with a thick book of fun things to do in our area and a list of the local highlights and restaurants.
  • This Cottage is perfect! So clean and right next to the water. Very quiet location, perfect little get away!

Beach access just across the road with seating & sheltered areas. 3 large windows and outside patio provide breath-taking view of ship traffic and wildlife. Launch kayaks & canoes. Due to the large variance in diets now, we have decided not to prepare and serve breakfast. The apartment kitchenette will allow our guests to prepare the foods they prefer to have as part of their diet. We do provide many standard items for guests ‘ convenience. KITCHENETTE EQUIPMENT: NuWay Induction plate, microwave, counter convection oven, toaster, griddle, waffle iron, electric fry pan, Keurig coffee maker, electric tea pot, and many other pots, pans, utensils, and cooking tools. Dishwasher and soap. STAPLES PROVIDED: Coffee K-cups, tea bags, creamers, sugar, Splenda, salt, pepper, other seasonings, pancake syrup, sugar free syrup, cooking oil, pancake mix, flavored oatmeal packets, and bottled milk, and eggs. BBQ right outside the apartment door. We love sharing our bit of paradise with our guests. We can accommodate 4 people with a new Queen bed (private bedroom) and a new sofa bed. Total relaxation is available in this peaceful, nature-filled environment. Enjoy our new spacious apartment--our entire first floor: private entrance, bedroom, kitchenette, private bathroom, living room area. Our house is on the banks of the mighty Columbia River and on the Lewis & Clark Trail at historical Pillar Rock/Dahlia. Most of our guests say they wished they had stayed at least 2 days to take advantage of the changing area with the tides. No animals allowed in the apartment, including our friendly springer spaniel so that people with allergies can be comfortable. Easy walking or car access to our beach area and our natural launch, directly across the road from our house. The apartment's 3 large picture windows and outdoor patio with BBQ give a spectacular view of the Columbia River, ship and barge traffic, and puts guests closely in touch with the deer and other animals that frequent our property. The river is never still with ships and river traffic passing so close to our beach. It is exciting to be down on the beach at the large waves come crashing in after ships pass. Enjoy going for walks on the beach, our road, and the nature trail up behind our house. We have a private fire pit area for guests’ use and FIREWOOD INCLUDED for your stay. Beach towels provided. Check in anytime after 4 p.m. Check out 12:00 noon. Need space for 2-4 more people? See Columbia River Rest Anchor House. Sleeps 4. (Open seasonally only May-Oct) When renting both the Apartment and the Anchor House there will be a special price reduction.
We live in an especially beautiful, serene, and naturally rich area. The waterfowl on the Columbia is very diverse: white Pelicans (new to the area), hawks, several varieties of ducks, geese, osprey, and several species of owls. Eagles are everywhere and many are in our big fir trees at the front of our property as I show in our photo album. They put on quite a show and have been known to drop fish out of the sky onto vehicles--seriously! Occasionally, we get a show from some sea lions and seals gobbling up the Salmon fingerlings. One of our guests described the night silence as "you can hear your own heartbeat." You might hear an owl, or a frog in spring, or the stern wheeler or a tugboat if you are not yet asleep, but the freighters slip by us with only a low, barely discernible hum to their engines. Spring and fall might bring the distant mournful sound of the ship's horns, but instead of it seeming like noise, it is rather romantic. You might find yourself trying to figure if it is coming from upstream or downstream and staying awake to find out.
  • Cheryl's place is my new favorite escape. Gracious hosts greeted my friend and I with a warm welcome, explanation of all the amenities, and then left us to unwind and enjoy. Morning coffee watching dawn break on the Columbia River was a comfortable beginning to the day. The stay was very enjoyable.

    Eric2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Cheryl’s place is the perfect balance of remoteness with all the conveniences. We loved being on the river, seeing deer and eagles, spending a lazy evening watching boats go by, but we also enjoyed the fully stocked kitchen and the large, private space. The WiFi was top-notch and the Springer Spaniel, Max, was the perfect welcoming committee. Another guest mentioned the road- it is paved the entire way, not dirt, and narrow at times, but not difficult or scary- even as we came in at dusk in a teeny rental car. As other guests have said, we could have easily spent a few more days of R & R here.

    Aimee2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommended for those who need a peaceful vacation away from the city for a few days, and who love daily scenic views.

    Cindy2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • It’s a great location for nature, relaxation and the view but a little far out from any larger towns and the road was a bit scary, especially in the rain after dark. It’s only one lane in parts for the last several miles. If that doesn’t bother you, it’s well worth the drive. It’s very quiet and peaceful, with a fabulous view of the river for watching wildlife or ship traffic. There were 6 deer in the yard at one time, eating apples fed to them by Cheryl. The apartment is spacious and comfortable. I was surprised to find very fast Wi-Fi for our various devices. We didn’t have much good weather on our trip but we went into Astoria and checked out the maritime museum. We had brunch at Coffee Girl, which Cheryl recommended and it was great. It’s a very interesting area, even when it’s stormy.

    Anthony2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Cheryl’s place is in a remote spot with breath taking views. The guest suit is stylishly decorated, cozy and very clean. My wife and I only stayed one night and would have stayed more if our schedule had permitted it. If we are ever in this area again, we would most defiantly go back and stay again, longer. LOVED IT!!! If we could give more then 5 stars, we would.

    Troy2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • My family (2 adults and one 3-year old) stayed at Cheryl and Dale's place for 3 nights. It was just what we were looking for... secluded, relaxing, and plenty of outdoor adventures to entertain the 3 of us. We lucked out and had 1 really hot day that was perfect for swimming. We had fun exploring the beach at low tide, taking walks on their nature trail and along the road, checking out the deer in the yard, and eating way too many waffles (courtesy of our hosts). We brought all of our lunch/dinner food with us. There was more than enough room in the 2 mini fridges available to accommodate the food we brought. And the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to cook. There were instructions on how to make different breakfast items, which we appreciated (e.g., how to poach an egg in the microwave and how to make eggs in the convection oven). Overall, the apartment had everything we needed (and more!). Cheryl and Dale were wonderful hosts and great to chat with! If we get the chance, we'll definitely be back (and will be recommending them to friends too!).

    Jill2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely area, peaceful & beautiful. It is quite a way off the main track, but well worth the extra distance and the road is good. Cheryl & Dale are great hosts - their apartment has everything you could want to self cater & they had supplied ample yummy things for breakfast. We would definitely go back!

    P2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Cheryl and Dale are great hosts, they're extremely thoughtful and sweet. We enjoyed our 2 night stay. It was awesome to see the ships going by on the river and there were tons of deer in the area. Had it not rained the day we were there we would have rented kayaks to explore the river.

Our 322 sq ft. vacation rental apartment is next door to, but separate from our two room Twin Gables Inn on Skamokawa Creek. Best for two, but sleeps four in a pinch (queen sleeper sofa in living room). $15 per additional occupant over 2. The apartment does not face the creek, but it is 30 feet from the back door to the water's edge. 5 steps up to the apartment. Breakfast available at inn. Small dog with prior permission only. Dog-friendly park, wildlife refuge and Fairgrounds nearby.
One bedroom apartment with kitchenette. Can sleep two couples. $15 per person additional fee over 2 occupants. Queen bed in bedroom. Queen sleeper in living room. Small bath with stand up shower. All linens and towels provided. Kitchenette has stove/oven, small refrigerator, toaster, coffee maker and microwave. Pots, pans and utensils provided. Fresh-ground coffee. Boat dock available for guest use. On Skamokawa Creek, just off the lower Columbia River. Not suitable for sailboats due to low bridge. For canoes and kayaks: a small boat launch is just down the creek from us We are a short walk from a general store, the Redmen Hall Friends of Skamokawa Museum and bookshop, a wildlife refuge with several miles of flat, lightly used road for cycling, Skamokawa Vista Park, where you can walk one of the few beaches along the Columbia River. Breakfast, or our 'Simple Suppers' are available in next-door B&B for $15/pp for those who want a break from cooking. The apartment includes free wifi (CenturyLink 'up to' 10 mbps) and an internet ready TV with a Netflix subscription. Note on location. A major search engine maps us a few miles away from where we actually are. We are in central Skamokawa, a 5 minute walk from the general store and paddle center, and across the highway from Skamokawa Vista Park. We are located on the waterside of Skamokawa Creek, which empties into the Columbia River just downstream.
We are in the Skamokawa National Historic District. Houses here face Skamokawa Creek. The creek was once the town's 'Main Street', as much travel was done via water. There was no through-road to Skamokawa until the 1930s. The human population is small, outnumbered by a variety of wildlife. You may see deer in the yard. Eagles, Osprey and Red-Tailed Hawks are common sights, as are Herons and many migrating water-fowl. You may hear coyotes yipping in the evening. Beaver, Otter and Nutria are often seen in the local sloughs.
  • A lovely place with everything we needed, and great hospitality! Had an amazing breakfast cooked by our hostess. Convenient location for visiting Cathlamet and for day trips into Portland. If it had been warm enough we would have hung out on the inviting porches - one facing the quiet courtyard and one facing the slough behind the inn. Hoping to visit again in the warmer months!

  • A nice space from which to explore the north side of the Columbia.

  • My husband and two little dogs had an awesome time at Kathleen's place. She welcomed us we arrived, showing us to our adorable home for the evening. A delicious and full breakfast was served the next morning....making us feel special as we were the only ones in the dining room. Kathleen kindly put my coat in the dryer as I got drenched walking a dog. Thank you for a great stay.

  • Very conveniently located right across from the park and walking distance to town. Cute and clean with a comfy bed and great home baked cookies.

    Robbie2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Very quiet, clean and quaint. Perfect spot to enjoy the Columbia River without the hassle of camping.

    Michael2019-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved this place. The room worked very well for three of us and our dog. If you are looking for somewhere to relax and unwind that’s located in a beautiful part of the state, you should definitely plan on coming here. There’s a nice creek you can paddle on that’s behind the hotel, and the park across the street has a sand beach on the Columbia river. Also, the owner makes the best shortbread cookies we’ve ever tasted.

  • I am a recent BNB convert and the Twin Gables Inn is such a gem! Kathleen is a very kind host who responds to messages very quickly. The bed we had was very comfortable and she had a plate of some of the best short bread I may have ever had in our room upon our arrival. There was plenty of coffee available outside of our room in the morning and the breakfast was absolutely delightful. We look forward to our next stay here!

This home is on Puget Island in the Columbia River with water front property, a dock, newly developed home with hip styling, a foodie equipped kitchen. This spot is an idyllic island getaway overlooking a pristine section of the Columbia River, at the mouth of an inlet with a protected dock off the main river current. A great adventure basecamp for boaters, anglers, kayakers, and Jones Beach OR the kite boarding destination is at the eastern part of the island.
This home has been furnished for luxury and comfort. The kitchen is setup to suit foodies and chefs alike. A fire-pit and picnic table overlook the Columbia river in front of the house.
The island is scenic and has a slow pace to soak in the splendor of this section of the Columbia River. Astoria is a day trip away. There are sand beaches and recreational opportunities.

  • Beautiful Place with an outstanding location. The home exceeded any expectations and was everything that we ever expected it to be. But even better than the house and location were the hosts/owners! They were really nice and helpful with our trip and schedule and whole experience felt more like staying a good friends home than a strangers rental. Would definitely recommend and will be returning someday.

Small private camp ground located just minutes off Hwy 4, in Rosburg Wa. Location is not to far from the 101 when traveling the coast. This beautiful spot sits near the creek and river with pastures and cows next door. Lewis and Clark once traveled this area looking for the ocean so as their ship could pick them up and head back to the East Coast. Boat ramp is just out the gate for smaller boats, kayaks, paddle boards. Shared camp spot with 2 developed sites.
We enjoy the creek and river next to us while also having the Columbia River and Ocean close by. Great for those traveling through the area looking for a safe spot to camp for the night with a port a potty and water. Old house on property and shed that separates the 2 camp spots, fire ring near each.
Super mellow spot with water front access for great paddling, kayaking or fishing. Share this private spot with the closest neighbors, the jersey cows of Organic Valley Diary. Long ago this spot serviced locals and water bound travelers as a local market, the steam ship would make daily runs to this location to drop off passengers here as well as goods. As there were no roads in this area pre 1900, all travel was by water then. Enjoy the privacy, quietness and beautiful valley views. Easily launch your kayaks or boat at the boat ramp next door at the old Rosburg Community Hall. Good launch at high tide muddy at low tide, but still deep in the channel. Great location at the beginning of a 10 mile dead end road for those wishing to explore Pillar Rock Road and the once thriving community of Altoona. Whether by bicycle or car: rich history of the thriving Salmon canning industry of the late 1850's - 1910, Is still evident today. As is Pillar Rock at the end of the road as it was when Lewis & Clark camped near this location on Nov 6, 1805. Pronouncing O! the joy" as they felt they finally had the ocean in view. They celebrated that day by having a big party at camp that night. *Port A potty at site *No electricity 2 sites available
  • Good spot

  • A perfect little nook, with everything you need for a peaceful camp site.

    D. Michael2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great private campground. Clean. It was a bit noisy (barking dogs, traffic) - I'd bring ear plugs if you're a light sleeper. Lovely location.

    Jessica2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Nice quiet spot. It’s right off the main road, but there was almost no traffic at night. It was easy to find in the dark. The outhouse was clean and stocked with both toilet paper and hand sanitizer. The host responded quickly to any questions I had. I would definitely stay here again!

    Brigit2019-08-17T00:00:00Z

I noticed their were crawfish in the creek. So bring your briquettes.. and enjoy. We feel so rested and restored. Thank you JoAnn for an A plus stay. Highly recommended! - J and M

Quaint and simple is our Hub in the town of Mist Oregon. We love the abundance this area has to offer. Mist is around an hour drive of scenic coastal range to the Pacific and about the same distance to Portland. We're able to provide a few bikes if you feel like taking a cruise or fishing on the Nahalem river. After exploring come rest your bones near the campfire. We will provide the wood! Camper has both inside and outside: Kitchen Dining Shower New outhouse on the property
Guests are welcome to the Garden Fire pit New Outhouse Tent camper and canopy Lounge chairs Big open sky
This is old country. Mist has a small population and a grand history. Many locals grew up around here and they have stories to tell. Away from the hustle and bustle is a plethora of wildlife, forests and the Nahalem River! Did I mention the stars!? There's much to explore, Jewell Elk Refuge, Fishhawk Falls, Vernonia Banks trail, Saddle mountain, historical small towns and beautiful drives to many destinations. We're on the map of Hood to Coast relay as well. Many stay here and head to the Ocean for day trips.
  • Faith and Jameson were excellent host!! Their space was so cute and cozy... we look forward to going back!

  • Nice people great loction for a calm night by the fire. Defiantly would stay again

    Adan2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • From the second I arrived until the day I left everything was absolutely perfect. I arrived late in the evening to magical lights lighting up the outside of the camper and an outdoor fire waiting for me. The camper was clean, very organized, simple, and cozy. Faith and Jameson gave me 5 star treatment while also giving me all the space I needed. Every interaction with them was delightful, and every request I made was met with quick and friendly response. I wish I could add another star to the 5 stars allowed.

    Roger2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Faith and Jameson are incredibly kind, caring, and have an absolutely adorable space. The hub has everything you need, despite being a small place! There was beautiful snowfall during our stay and those heaters kept us nice and toasty. There was also always a fire going outside when we returned at night! I want to be friends with these amazing hosts now, and you will too.

  • Awesome stay! Very friendly people! Great location!

    Alex2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I stayed here for a month while we were looking for housing in the area. From the moment we arrived Faith and Jameson made us feel like family. They continually made sure that we had everything we needed and they also had some great local tips on things to do in the area. They were always open to spending time with us, having a camp fire, getting us out foraging, and they always respected our privacy. The hub is a great place to stay in the temperate rainforests of the PNW. Our hosts were some of the best people we have met since arriving. Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay in the peaceful Mist.

    Ryan2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay! Faith and Jamenson were super nice. It was a very pretty spot and the camper was super clean and had everything we needed for a nice gettaway. Would visit again!

    Jordan2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Faith and Jameson were incredibly friendly and the camper was far more comfortable than we expected! The location is perfect for stargazing and being away from the city. We greatly enjoyed our weekend. I would definitely recommend staying here!!

  • Kathleen is a wonderful host. She fixed great breakfasts both days we were there. We had a large room with a private bathroom. There is another room upstairs which is smaller but also has a private bathroom. It was two separate houses that her husband purchased both of them and built an addition between them and you cannot tell they have done all that work from the inside or the outside. Very impressive workmanship. (I know, I'm in construction.) My wife and i had a wonderful time for both days staying with them.

  • We loved our stay here. The host was very responsive and accommodating to our change of plans. We arrived late at night and were so glad to see the porch light. The place was sparkling clean and the beds were very comfortable. She left notes on the tv remotes and on all the appliances explaining how to use them. A very friendly and art-filled space.

3 bedroom home on 2.5 acres overlooking the lower Columbia River. Main floor includes master suite with 2 queen beds, 2nd bedroom with 1 queen bed. Downstairs daylight basement includes 1 queen, 2 twins. All rooms have a view of the Columbia River! We are 9 miles off Hwy 4 in Wahkiakum county. Definitely out in the country! Guests often enjoy seeing deer that get into yard, along bald eagles flying by. We have blueberries, cherries, apples and pears, depending on the season. The last couple of miles are pretty winding, but the view at the end is worth it!
Right on the Lower Columbia River. Ship channel close to the shore, see ships and tugs as they travel from Astoria upriver. The site was a homestead for the Elliott family, established long before there were roads. Beds for 10 guests. No smoking, no pets.
The view says it all. In hot weather it is cooler than Portland, Oregon. Usually quiet and peaceful. Rural. We are about an hour from Astoria, Longview or Ilwaco. Restaurants and grocery stores are 20 to 30 minutes away minimum. We strongly suggest bringing your groceries with you.
  • Fairview has a beautiful view, it's definitely worth the drive! The well stocked game room is a nice touch as well.

This spot is an idyllic island getaway overlooking a pristine section of the Columbia River, at the mouth of a protected inlet. A great adventure basecamp for boaters, anglers, kayakers, and a kite boarding destination is at the eastern part of the island (Jones Beach, OR).
This listing is for the Spare Bedroom in a home on Puget Island in the Columbia River with water front property, a dock, newly developed home with hip styling, a foodie equipped kitchen.
The island is scenic and has a slow pace to soak in the splendor of this section of the Columbia River. Astoria is a day trip away. There are sand beaches and recreational opportunities.
  • Beautiful, quiet, stylish, and comfy! Great kitchen with all the amenities and if you can go eat at Patty’s cafe - it’s delicious (with gluten/dairy free options too)!

  • Jenn and Michael were fantastic! We loved meeting them and staying at their house. We woke up to the most spectacular views of the waterfront and mountains. Highly recommend!

    Chelsi2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • This is a place that is even better than the photos. Owned by a couple who are professional sailors (Captain & First mate/Chef), their home is designed with a Nautical theme that is true to their passion for sailing & travel. This was a birthday weekend & we had a magical time. We got to swim in the Colombia River, helped by some expert & timely advice from our hosts on the ideal currents. Our room & their home was beautiful, stylish, expansive, open & relaxing. We really got to relax this weekend, and felt so appreciative of their opening up their home to guests to enjoy this idyllic island & nearby town of Cathlamet. We got to enjoy bald eagle sightings in the backyard, a gorgeous landscape of the Colombia & surrounding mountains. Be sure to check out Patty Cakes, the cafe owned by one of our Co hosts--a really charming & delicious breakfast/lunch place/coffee house in town. Also, Michael & Jenn take groups of people on private yacht vacations to the Caribbean that are surprisingly reasonable. We were so inspired by this home & family, and are considering possibilities we hadn't thought of before! Thank you Jenn, Michael & Patty! We had a wonderful time. We highly recommend this Airbnb.

This beach home is nestled in front of a scenic hillside and across the walkable road from the waterfront beach access, relax in a natural sanctuary on the mighty Columbia River while seals bark on the beach below. Single bedroom home features queen four poster bed, full-sized sofa bed, complete kitchen and laundry. Wildlife abounds in our pristine area and only the soft notes of nesting geese and loons can be heard at night.
This sweet home was built in 2014 and lived in part time for only a year. It is ideal for couples looking for privacy or small families in search of a unique coastal vacation. Note: we have a wonderful access to the river for kayaks and canoes. The living room has a new pull-out bed and the bedroom has a roomy and comfortable new queen sized bed. We keep the kitchen stocked with basic seasonings and provide full sized appliances so you can cook up meals. We do allow doggies, but please, no large breeds as the house is not large enough for bigger, more powerful dogs. (Dogs not allowed on bed or couch, or left alone in house) There is a $15 pet charge, paid at time of arrival. Your dog will love running on the beach (they all do!). See our uTube video at https://youtu.be/7i6P0jcqAvc
We live at the end of an eleven mile road that traces the north side of the Columbia River. We see an amazing array of coastal wildlife from seals and sea lions on our beach to deer in our yard. Eagles fly above as well as hawks, and occasionally osprey. Loons, ducks, geese and white Pelicans make this their nesting home. If that wasn't enough, we live within driving distance to some of the most treasured bird sanctuaries in the Northwest. Many state parks in both Washington and Oregon are a short drive away including Stevens Park, Cape Disappointment, and Fort Columbia. We can also recommend amazing restaurants along the coast including Norma's in Seaside and Fort George Brewery in Astoria. Finally, we have some of the most beautiful public beaches in the area less than an hour away (though our private beach is pretty special too).
  • It’s tucked away along the river. Quiet and remarkably beautiful. Kathy is an excellent communicator and the guesthouse has everything you need for a night or an extended stay. I definitely wish my schedule allowed for a longer weekend. Beautiful beach, there’s nothing else like it.

    Gayle2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Kathy’s place was amazing! A five minute walk from a completely private beach, our dog loved it! We did not see anyone else on the beach during our Saturday-Sunday stay. The road and area is very quiet and peaceful. The river views from the cottage are beautiful as well. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a quiet weekend of beaching and cooking especially if you have a four legged friend who loves romping on the beach!

    Natalie2019-10-06T00:00:00Z

    Ahnika2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to get away from it all and just relax and watch the boats go by on the Columbia River. If it's raining, you can sit inside and still have a great view. It is quite a long drive (10 slow miles) down the road to get there, but that's why it is so quiet and peaceful. I loved my mini-vacation there and wish I could have stayed longer.

  • I’ve coordinated many retreats at Beth’s gorgeous haven, and it never fails to be the most perfect get-away!! You can see the thoughtfulness and care she’s put into her space all over! It’s such a peaceful venue and my groups I’ve brought there, every single time, have been wowed by the stunning beauty surrounding this adorable ranch. Thanks again, Beth!!

  • Just the place for our family gathering. We enjoyed coffee on the balcony overlooking the river. Our kids loved the freedom they had to explore the property and visit the farm animals- there are even leashes to walk the goats.

  • Had a great thanksgiving with friends! The fire pit was great on a clear crisp night. The apartment was super clean when we arrived and fully stocked for all guests. Kim gave me a heads up that there wasn’t a roasting pan, appreciate the attention to detail when cooking thanksgiving dinner.

  • What an amazing find!! Beautiful home, location, and host. I would definitely recommend this house to anyone.

    Page2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at the farm. The access to bike riding on the nearly empty country roads, the kayaking and SUPing off the deck, the wonderful fire pit, the goats (which the kids couldn't get enough of), and more made our visit both very active and very relaxing. Puget Island and Cathlamet both felt like places out of time. And we loved that!!! Highly recommended for families and friends looking for an escape nearby both Portland and Seattle.

    Ron2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • This was our third time returning to the property and it never ceases to amaze us. It was, once again, another great experience. We walked around the property a bit more and were able to show the kids the farm animals which was a whole other world in itself, being from the city ourselves. There were a ton of spices and cooking amenities which came in handy. We will be back again next summer.

Lots of deer make regular visits to us.

Clatskanie is a small rural town that really hasn't changed much over the years, however, with its active community, the town is vital and full of surprises! During the summer months enjoy Clatskanie's local farmers market and swimming pool. We also have a funky little art gallery called Bloom, a library and a "castle" which serves lunch Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. You'll enjoy our well kept city parks and don't forget to check out our state of the art skate park! We have several wonderful coffee shops, with some yummy breakfast and lunch options, and some unique thrift and gift shops just a few blocks away. If you're trying to get away from all the crowds, this is where its at!
  • "The Riviera" is an eclectic and peaceful place with its own "secret garden." The comfortable bedroom has lots of light and the bathroom and kitchenette are well stocked (including cozy robes). Overall, if you like funky art and furnishings and don't mind some wear and tear you'll love this place. We plan to return in summer so we can use the lovely private sun porch. lounge in the garden, hang out on the waterside deck, and take one of Kris and John's kayaks out for a spin. They're terrific hosts.
